I really loved this place. Had three meals there over the week. They don’t take reservations so I recommend getting there early, especially on a Friday. The pasta, veg, and meat were all great. I enjoyed sitting out on the street for each meal but beware the slope of the street can be tricky. Their internal dining is nice too.

Fantastic food and service - this is typical Tuscan cuisine. The porcini mushroom tagliata was a stand out for me as was the truffle tagliata. Also recommend the house red wine, it’s delicious.

Get there early, just after opening, or after 21:30, to avoid queues. I’m not sure if you can book ahead … some large groups of men came in later (after 21:00). We were there by 19:30 and had to wait 10-15 minutes As there were 4 “tables” /groups in front of us in the queue. It was pleasant weather and good people watching ad we stood in the narrow street. Staff were pleasant and patient when taking our order (for four people), brisk in delivery, and attentive when we flagged them down as they whisked between tables. Interesting pictures, posters, press clippings on the wall. Seemed to be trattoria in style … I had the homemade spaghetti with a wild boar sauce … very tasty. The 250 ml carafe of Chianti was good value for money. I wasn’t sure if the Traditional Cream Dessert I ordered was the lemon custard pie slice I received, but it was nice.

The food was phenomenal, we had the truffle tagliolini which was filled with so much flavor! After this, we then had incredible desert, also with so much variety and incredible flavor. This is right next to the piazza which is absolutely perfect after a walk around the city. We were also warmly welcomed by the staff where they gave us small tasters before our meals. We definitely recommend if you want an ambient, cozy and comfortable atmosphere with authentic Tuscan cuisine!

Incredible meal in Arezzo 10/10! We went without any expectations and it truly was one of the best elaborated meals in the tuscany. You can’t miss the soufflé (delicious texture and flavor), risotto (the yogurt and crunch made it really different but interesting) and duck (tender and tasty). All the dishes had a nice presentation and combination of flavors and textures, which clearly shows the thought and work behind it. A must go for sure!!

Delicious food in elegant atmosphere on the main piazza. Taglialini with tartufo was incredible. The white chocolate sphere for dessert was really a small village of buildings constructed on my plate, each with a different taste theme. A couple — no actually three — extras courses slipped in gratuitously by the hosts. A bit on the pricey side for my typical budget, but worth it, I felt.

Food (4 out of 5) -- the food was overall excellent with the zucchini ravioli and the crispy pork being the standouts. There is a talented chef involved, but sadly the service experience is awful. The plating of the courses was nicely done and beautiful. Service (1 out of 5) -- although there were some excellent aspects to the food, there was nothing good about the service. Almost every aspect of the service experience was rushed and then oddly haphazard. We ordered a mixed salad to start. It was quite good, but before I had even had a chance to try the salad, the sommelier slash food runner brought our second course to the table (zucchini ravioli, and also an octopus ravioli). He actually went to set them on our tiny table until I mentioned that we'd like to finish our first course first that he took them away. Later, when he did bring the 2nd course back, it was clear that they had just been sitting in the kitchen. Unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. We thoroughly enjoy a leisurely, Italian style lunch. What we experienced here can best be described as an odd mix of fast food rushed service with long gaps of no service at all. It was haphazard and amateurish for what is a multi-generation, family owned and run restaurant. Atmosphere (3) -- nice charm and character that is undermined by fake (tacky) plants and flowers. There are so many wonderful dining options in the area. We were disappointed that we wasted a meal here. UPDATE: I certainly did say something during our meal about the service. To pretend this didn't happen is offensive. As I mentioned in my review, there were some significant positives about the food. The quality of the service, however, from the initial greeting to the haphazard service throughout was unacceptable. Delivering our 2nd hot course before we'd even had a bite of our salads!? Did I say something? Yes, I did. Did you even bother to comment about this or acknowledge this in your response? No. Nor did you address this while we were there. There were a number of times during our meal when I had to be more direct than I prefer. I was shocked when our 2nd course was delivered almost immediately after our 1st. Even after I said something, the server went to try to put the two additional plates on our tiny table. Only after I was insistent that we first be allowed to finish our salads, did he stop. Where were you that you are so unaware that this happened? Service was haphazard with food being rushed out when it should not be. The zucchini ravioli had some excellent flavors, but it was served to us cold as was the octopus ravioli. Our overall experience here was unpleasant due to poor service. Should I have made scene when our 2nd course was brought to the table cold? That is not the approach I'd ever take. I was clear that it was not warm. I was clear that it was not fresh. No one seemed to care, as no one did anything about it. It was a celebratory meal for us that we were looking forward to that was, sadly, made not so special based on the experience. We will be back to Arezzo, but we will dine elsewhere.

Wonderful view on the piazza from the terrace, comfortable seats made for a wonderful sitting experience. The food was fantastic with a wide variety of bites for the antipasti’s that everyone quite enjoyed. The free amuse’s were delicious and they were very generous, giving one for each dish (even the desert, which was also fantastic!). The staff was nice enough (albeit a tad quiet) and the wine (we had an amarone) was wonderful. All in all a strong recommendation.

Visiting Arezzo, we had dinner at Le Chiavi d’Oro and its been an extremely pleasant experience. The decor is modern but - somehow - integrates well in a Medieval town. Food is traditional with some twists that add a pleasant surprise to taste without exceeding the borders of experimentation. Three courses dinner for 2 people (one glass on fine red wine) 100€ which is absolutely in line with the quality. Definitely a place where to stop by. We'll be back once in Arezzo again

We had a truly wonderful meal here, the food was sublime, high end cooking, packed full of flavour and innovative in its combinations, I had the tongue starter and guinea fowl Secondi and would highly recommend both. Service was impeccable on what was a busy weekend evening, charming, helpful and knowledgeable when answering our various questions, especially as to wine choices. A not so hidden gem which I shall be recommending to anyone that will listen. A great night out.

High quality food, the duck was excellent (dish of the day) and the duck ragu was spectacular. We came with a stroller and they accommodated us without a problem. Staff well trained and very attentive.

One of the best restaurants in Arezzo, by far! In a historical and central location (Piazza San Francesco), I found the restaurant cozy and elegant. Waiters were welcoming and took care of choosing our aperitifs. They also suggested few off-menu dishes that were, indeed, absolutely worth it. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. Outdoor seating wasn’t available, but we were seated inside right away. The space was elegant—warm lighting, beautiful details, and a calm, refined atmosphere. At first, we weren’t sure if it would be the right fit since we were with our young son and teenagers, and the restaurant is Michelin-rated. But we stayed, and we’re so glad we did. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and helpful in walking us through the menu. It’s divided into three sections, and they suggest two dishes per person. Only my husband followed that, starting with the steak tartare, which was excellent. We all had pasta dishes, and every one was incredible. I had the duck tagliatelle with ragù—delectable and made with rich precision. The flavors were deep and comforting. Our vegetarian guest had the ravioli and savored every bite. Each dish felt intentional and beautifully prepared, without being overdone. It was a quiet, elegant dinner. If you’re looking for more of a lively scene, the patio might be better. This is a very nice restaurant. There were 3 of us and we ordered a pizza, 2 pork chops, potatoes, 2 appetizers, a small bottle of wine and water. The total cost was 70 euros. The pizza was delicious, the roast pork was juicy. Every dish we ordered that day was very good. The waitress was very kind and helpful. After the bill, they waved goodbye, so we left feeling both full and happy.

We ended up at this restaurant because we visited Arezzo during the medieval festival (Giostra del Saracino, on September 7th) and the town was completely packed — this was the only place that could take us. We ordered seasonal roasted vegetables and were served spinach, which wasn’t bad. The prosciutto e melone was good, and the tuna salad (with canned tuna) was fine. For mains, we tried the ricotta ravioli with truffle sauce (not bad), the osso buco (just average), and gnocchi with pomodoro sauce. Overall, the food was very plain and nothing really stood out. The only dish truly worth it was the tiramisu, which was delicious.

The pizza was the best I had in Arezzo…thin but soft crust, ample cheese, strong flavor. The tiramisu was also the best I’ve had. Coffee grounds with chocolate powder on top was a nice touch and not overpowering. The custard was thick but not a mousse and had great flavor. The lady fingers were not too much and had a strong coffee flavor. So many great flavors coming out of the kitchen too.

A restaurant located in the very center of Arezzo, decorated in a very elegant, rustic way. The seats by the windows look out directly onto one of the medieval streets climbing up the city. The dishes on the menu are traditional for the region, although as an appetizer I managed to order my beloved friarelli, which is associated primarily with Naples. I can't say a bad word about the pasta with rabbit meat or the sausages ordered for the second course. Nevertheless, the said salsiccia, although very tasty, was more like Polish white sausage than my beloved specialty. It wasn't exactly what I expected. Overall, the dishes are very good, prices reasonable and the decor evokes a sentimental journey through time. I can reccomend Trattoria Il Saraceno.

Found this restaurant while wandering around Arezzo. Wonderful food, service excellent. Only one downside the menu was in a very old font and was difficult to read. We nearly moved on. When inside we did use the QR code which was easier to read.

Really good pasta place with lots of traditional options. They also serve wine by the glass, beer and the desserts are recommended. They're in a smaller street with a comfortable terrace.

Returned for a second lunch at Teorema del Gusto and it was just as fantastic as we remembered. Their handmade pasta is melt in your mouth delicious! Service is prompt and very friendly. Inside (air conditioned) and outside seating is available. We will absolutely return!

Had the truffle with mushrooms and the truffles had absolutely no taste and it was one of the worst pasta meals of my life.

We had the gnocchi with truffles which were good and the wild boar pasta. The pasta was good but nothing special. It's a bit weird that you only get a very small amount of cheese (packaged) with the meal. We found it was pretty good value. Service could have been a bit more attentive.

Came here upon recommendations from our Agriturismo friend from Il Palazzo. We speak English and the staff were very accommodating. Menu suggestions and wine pairing were spot on. My wife and I absolutely loved the Foccacia bread and the Picci pasta w shrimp was superb. We enjoyed our main courses as well as suggested by the caring staff.

We had one of our favorite meals here while in Arezzo. The Golden chicken and Pan fried cockerel are must haves. Every bite was a pleasure and the family operation provides amazing service.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I came across in Italy. We have been having a food tour across Italy and this by far beats most of the high end places that we went to. First we arrived very late, 45 minutes before closing time and they still accommodated us (with restrictions to the menu of course). Atmosphere was great. Very elegant. Such a nice place at the top of the plaza. The service was sharp, and the food choices outstanding. For the lunch menu, you can select from the "classics" menu (as in traditional Italian) or the gourmet menu. The gourmet menu still features great Italian ingredients, but the preparations are more inventive.

“Welcome to Essenza, enjoy the experience.” And we did. We took the meats tasting 5 course menu, with foie gras, duck, dried ham, Pigeon and many other surprises. Granted this is not a cheap thrill but Chef/Owner Luca and his staff went well out of their way to make this an experience alright. Expect various takes on the same ingredient on your plate, the pigeonbreast prepared with ultrasonic looked red yet was superbly cooked, it’s tiny leg increasingly tasty, and it’s wing topping the dish. The waiters are friendly and not too present, advising you in what order to go through each course to best enjoy. Yes there is some molecular cooking going on, yet -as we love it- one can still see what has been cooked. Still, very interesting takes on dishes you’ve seen elsewhere but not tasted similarly elsewhere. Very surprising. We took some glasses of Champagne which was a wonderful companion. From the terrace we could see the waiters giving guests three wine options to taste, pouring the glass only when ok’d, and not trying to upsell as the price for the glasses was the same. Very clever. Very well executed. With this venue Luca could have gone just for overpriced, as endless tourists would present themselves. Instead he chose the hard way in preparing honest meats into creations that blew our minds in presentation. Some will not like the price this comes with. We’ve had dinners at similar price points and then some, but rarely did they taste so well. Surprising takes in there with courageous approaches, will not reveal it all. Good to see also that the staff was a mix of very experienced elder waiters, flawlessly removing the cap from the wine without turning the label away from the guests, to young and equally proud lads, as well as a very well groomed lady with simple and modest headscarf. Love the inclusion happening there. Just when you think it’s all over, the waiter reminds you not to run away as a surprise is coming still. And wow, again impressed by the take on a dish we thought we knew. Compliments to the staff and to Luca for a wonderful Essenza experience.

After being greeted by three different waitstaff and hosts, who were increasingly friendly and engaged, we settled in for a spectacular lunch. I had the carbonara from the traditional menu and it was, the greatest pasta dish I have ever had. Cooked perfectly with more than expected punch from the egg. My associate opted for the Penne all’ Amatriciana and considered it the best dish, thusfar, on our sojourn thru Tuscany. I cannot recommend this stop enough, bravo Essenza.

True Italian cuisine, Francesca is an amazing chef and we ate here twice because the first time was so good the second even better. They get packed quickly so walk in and make a reservation and be sure you don’t miss out and their incredible cuisine.

Just when I was thinking that pasta could not get anymore amazing, I visited Trattoria Cavour 42 and ordered their truffle pasta. It was the best pasta my partner and I have had so far in Italy! The fragrance of truffles coupled with the depth of flavour beckoned bite after bite. The risotto also provided a warmth and flavour profile like it was made by a nonna. We also ordered their beef carpaccio with truffle which was an alluring bright pink and tasted fresh and tender. We would definitely return to Arezzo just for this restaurant.

Had a great time here! Tried aperitivo Toscano, pasta with truffles, steak with peppers and rosemary and tiramisu - everything from the start til the end was more than great. Staff is extremely friendly, after few minutes felt like at home dining with family. Waiter has recommended great red wine that has complemented whole dinner. Wow! Best meal in Italy so far. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were drawn to the menu. The service is impeccable. The handmade pasta is to die for. The wine list was wonderful with local wines included and the deserts superb. We couldn't fault this place. A generous meal for two came to 50eur only. Couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough!

I was encouraged to visit this restaurant by its high rating as well as short menu which suggested specialization in specific dishes. I wad welcomed by kind staff which took care of the right atmosphere from the beginning. The positive picture was completed by the nice seat in a quieter part of Via Corsa. The ordered dishes were delicious. The tartare served in three versions, with dips emphasizing its character, deserved to be called a main course in itself. The pici pasta, on the other hand, was not prepared with a heavy meat sauce (which is common), but was bathed in a fresh sauce of yellow tomatoes and garlic from the Valdarno valley. I must honestly admit that the restaurant quality of the dishes enchanted me and my companion, while the prices did not particularly stand out against the average for Arezzo.

A lovely, cozy restaurant. Small kitchen but the chef makes amazing food like his fresh gnocchi with truffles. Good wine selection from this area as well. All the staff were friendly and all pitched in to work together (not something you see often!) Overall, an enjoyable dining experience

Very special restaurant, located next to the church where it borrows the name from. The interior is unique, with high ceiling and fresco's on the walls. The atmosphere is therefore unique, quite and cosy, perfect for a romantic or family dinner. The dishes are really well presented, but must be honest, some of them push the traditional recipes too much and the taste is not what you would expect. That said, the quality is really high, and therefore the price is also adjusted accordingly. Anyway not crazy expensive and definitely worth! Oh, great selection of wines

We had a wonderful lunch at this great restaurant just off the main Piazza. Wonderful service, a small but carefully thought out wine list and some really good and innovative cooking. Chicken liver crostini and rabbit in tomato and olive sauce were particular stand outs. Worth every Euro.

Sat outside for lunch and had delicious roasted aubergine and parmesan ravioli and carbonara with a glass of wine each. Food was excellent and the service was lovely. We had been to this restaurant years ago and remembered a lovely lunch then. The inside is nicely decorated and would also be nice to sit in

We had such a memorable meal here. The Tuscan crostini with liver pâté were rich and perfectly balanced, and the prosciutto e melone was simple but so fresh—exactly how it’s meant to be. The handmade pasta in red sauce was comforting and full of flavor. The staff were incredibly kind and patient, even letting us practice our Italian, which made the experience feel even more personal. The meal ended with a beautifully presented espresso, complete with a tiny meringue and sugar served in a moka pot—such a sweet touch. Places like this are what make Italy feel truly magical.

Everything about this store is wonderful, from the incredibly sweet staff to the decor, to the unique artisinal products and fantastic meat and cheese. The variety of sauces, sausages and pastas is superb. I literally wanted to buy up the entire store and the staff were so nice to hold everything for me while we went around to sight see, truly above and beyond! After returning to pick up our things, we added to our order and decided on an impromptu cheese board... the best I've had thus far in Italy, melt in your mouth salami, plentiful and fairly priced. I cannot say enough good things about this place! The products here are truly quality; the store's in-house brand does not use sunflower seed oil, which is surprisingly in so much of the products in this country; I regret not buying even more pesto and sauce!

Delicious food and good service! I loved the gorgeous decorations and atmosphere. We had a fancy cheese plate which was a fun way to try some local cheeses, plus the ragu spaghetti and the Tuscan soup. All were flavorful and comforting food on a rainy day.

After reading a review this restaurant came highly recommended for a traditional Tuscan meat restaurant. It was a few minutes from Arezzo but you need a car to get there. We were lucky that we came a few minutes after last order, but they agree to serve us. Place was quite full. We chose the Pici Duck Ragout which was so tasty. Probably best pasta of our trip. We also ordered pork Liver encased in Bacon in fat with pieces of Lard. It looked so good. A true local speciality. But the liver was hard and a bit dry, not as good as the one in Osteria L’agania in Arezzo. Their claim to fame was the Bistecca Fiorentina. They cut and show you the meat before cooking it. It’s not a porterhouse but a bone in Steak. The meat is not as great of quality as the best that Florence can offer. It was cooked really well. BUT it was not to my liking because they didn’t flavor the steak in anyway. They expect you to do it yourself. They give you olive oil and salt and pepper. Problem is …. That’s not how I prepare my steaks. Without any experience I just couldn’t get the steak to taste right. And I just didn’t have the confident to salt the steak enough. Still the taste of the meat was good and came really well prepared. There was 1 girl who spoke really good English and she helped us a lot with ordering. Service with everyone involved was excellent, a true family trattoria.

This restaurant is the epitome of a real, family-run restaurant that loves what they do. A quaint, pet-friendly restaurant on the outskirts of Arezzo with homemade pasta, daily specials (like our duck bolognese pasta and torta di riso), an absolutely incredible wine list (one of the sons is a sommelier and the daughter should be one), and simple ambiance where people can meet and share their experiences with the amazing food and service. Ah, and the service... incredible. Easily the best service experience I have had in over 9 months of living in Italy--smiles, kindness, helpful recommendations, not overbearing, and always attentive. Absolutely perfect. I will not eat anywhere else when I come to Arezzo, and I may even just drive from Florence to eat here again.

We were looking for a place to have a dinner on our way home from Perugia and found this place based on Google Reviews - it was a perfect match! Even though we arrived pretty late, like less than an hour before closure, we were gladly welcomed and seated. The staff (who's probably a family that owns the place ) is helpful, professional and friendly. As for the food, we had grilled fillet and it was perfect. We enjoyed our meal and our time in the Osteria.

Great place for Meat. One of the best Bistecche I ever had. Reservations are recommended as it's a small restaurant and you don't wish to be asked to come back another day. Waitress was excellent and charming. They also have a really good wine list...

Super tasty piadina at reasonable prices. I had the melanzana (also known as aubergine and eggplant) which was amazing. The bread was so delicate and the aubergine, radicchio, and cheese were amazing. 2 sandwiches and 2 beers were €16. I didn't see any other tourists at this cafe (besides me and my wife) while I was there. It was filled with locals who kept ordering a quick, delicious meal. Order at the counter and they give you a ticket with a number. When your order is ready they call out your number (if you don't know the Italian words for your number, please check while you wait!).

We loved these wraps! Filled with all sorts of great meats and cheeses, and just enough for a light meal or a hearty snack. Also the restaurant has really nice outdoor seating. Wraps are around 6 euros.

Too lazy service, too long waiting. Menu introduction costs 3.5€ per guest (coperto), and they do not ask you about this. Antipasti were good (especially tartar with the bone). The second steak wasn't medium with a little bit of blood as was tolded but was totally raw inside (blue), however, I liked it. Overall atmosphere was good. In fact, you can visit this place for food, but I would recommend that for drink and snack.

What a gem! I knew it would be a good restaurant from reading all the reviews, but was I surprised! At first when we walked in, it looked a bit empty. We followed our waiter to the table and were guided to a table in their patio which was very lively. Also, we were there on a Monday so I would definitely recommend booking a table there!! The waiter explained the menu and we started our dinner with some lovely cocktails. We both and a boccadilla. We had some tapas and wanted to share.. which was not a problem. They added one more taco to our order so we would not have any problems to share our dish.. I wanted a glass of wine and usually it is more common to grab a bottle.. but they asked me which flavours I enjoy and let me taste one for a glass and it was very good! So good I wanted another one. The main dishes were superb. We had a ceviche and a dish with octopus. Lots of flavour and the portions were not too big, neither too small..! What a great osteria and atmosphere! Would definitely come back!

The menu is traditional Italuan dishes, i must say “delicious”. The wine menu is extensive. Parking facilities are ample but on a distance, sbout half a mile from the restaurant, just outside the border of the centre. It was not cheap.

As we weren't quite sure which drink we wanted, we sked the waiter and he gave an initial recommendation, however he offered to bring the bartender. Bartender was world-class and listened to what we felt like, and made his recommendations from what we told him. Not the drinks we initially looked at, but he was spot on. They were absolutely amazing. Listening to the waiter talking to other customers showed that all employees were there with each their passion. With the drinks we had a small snack which was as surprising as it was delicious. A small cone that looked like a dessert, surprised with being a pate, and pivoted and surprised once again with a passion fruit bottom. It sounds strange but it worked. I highly recommend this place for a drink. And I will certainly return to try their food at some point.

Staff insisted on upselling the pre-set menus, house cocktails, and oysters, which came across as pushy rather than hospitable. The risotto lacked any creaminess, the duck was undercooked, and the so-called “gourmet” portions were laughably small—my veal portion was easily under 100g. I personally found the sauces uninspired. While it’s fair to mention that the starters and pre-dessert were complimentary, they were minimal and not particularly impressive. To top it off, we waited over 30 minutes for the bill, despite requesting it three times. Honestly, do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Though we are not staying in Arezzo and only took a day trip here, we be returning this trip solely to eat here again.

These chocolates are quite simply the best we’ve ever tasted. Beautiful textures - melt in the mouth and lovely subtle flavours. We visited the store in Florence and the wonderful manager there told us of the factory in Arezzo. We had lunch at the Arezzo store, followed by more tea, then purchased lots of gorgeous chocolate and finished with their freshly made delicious ice cream to go! We were served by Leonardo Vestri, the owner, who could not have been nicer and who kindly took time out to explain the chocolate making process; all their chocolates are handmade on-site from organic cacao beans from their own plantation in the Dominic Republic! Every member of staff we spoke to was incredibly friendly and helpful to us (non-Italian speakers). It was a pleasant two mile walk from the centre and was totally worth it. This was a wonderful way to spend a morning/afternoon. Highly recommended!

They organize group tours in which they explain the process of chocolate production from the plant to the finished product. We went to this location based on a guide, but the restaurant had changed ownership. We tried it anyway and were delighted with the service and the food. It was one of our favorite meals of our three week trip to Italy. They were able to accommodate one of our party who was gluten free. The house wine was excellent and reasonable as were all prices. I had the Tuscan antipasto which I tried at numerous restaurants in Tuscany and this was my favorite. The panna cotta with shaved chocolate (must have been local artisan chocolate) was divine.

We were quite disappointed with our meal. We were tired and quite hungry, service was poor. I ordered rabbbit and grilled vegetables. The rabbit was so tough not at all tender, then the grilled vegetable were all mostly burnt and dry. We would definately not recommend the restaurant to anyone, plus staff were not at all friendly, written from travellers from Australia.

My husband and I visited here on the 10th of May. It is a half hour walk from the train station but probably only a five minute taxi drive. We like to walk. It was a pretty straight walk and easy to find. It is close to the Minerva hotel. It is a really special restaurant. The two waiters are really magical. They made us feel so welcome and are really passionate to deliver the exceptional food that the kitchen produces. We loved the names of the dishes and the creative use of ingredients. The Snow's Noise was the best pasta dish we have ever had. We had stuffed morel mushrooms that were incredible, the pasta dish, pigeon and a dessert. There were other complimentary dishes too. There was a pre desert on our tasting menu that had strawberries and Szechwan pepper in a custard that I am still dreaming about. Our table was really private and large but the table next to us were friendly and the whole restaurant had such a lovely atmosphere. If I lived close enough I would visit every week..The tasting menu was €60 around £50. You'd pay around three or four time this price in the UK for the same quality of food. Exceptional value and a must visit if you are in Arezzo.

Eating there was one of the worst experiences I had during my Italian holiday. Although the food was decent, avarage, the service was awful. The waiters were not paying any attention to the customers and I felt utterly unwanted. I was with other 4 people and when we told the waiter that we didn't want any dessert, she reacted very impolitely. I couldn't have been more disappointed and I will never go there again. Such a shame!!!

It’s the worst meal I had during my 4-days stay in Tuscany. Here’s why: ordered pink wine, gave white; ordered “Scallops”, gave pork chops instead (bad translation maybe? But that doesn’t justify the 12 euro price); the taste? Really average, it’s like what you can order anywhere for a piece grill meat in UK or in France without any seasoning beside salt and pepper. I came because of the good overall review, but didn’t look carefully, my bad.

Nice location, good prices and special gluten-free menu with gluten free pizza's and other gluten free food. Has the AIC (Associazione Italiana Celiachia) quality mark.

Probably the sloppiest Tuscan meal I've ever had... so so pizza, but horrible fried vegetables, and zombie-like service. Can definitely not recommend!

The staff became some of my favorite people in Arezzo. I came so many times that I had to take a photo with them on the last day. The food is fantastic, Mariano makes sure that you are enjoying your dish, and the desert is to die for. I will recommend this place to everyone.

Mariano and his staff are supernice and so is his food. Vegetables (cabbage and friarielli with pinenuts and sultanas and medieval soup were delicious and so were the pici with tomatoes sauce. I definitely recommend this place!

Worst service ever in my life at a restaurant in Italy. Got the food order totally wrong. Sent the meatballs before pasta, then sent them after the pasta microwaved.. While I hadn't received anything yet my friends got their first and second course together. Plus the food is nothing special. Ginger meatballs were without ginger. Cacio and pepe seemed made with cream. And finally when the cook came to offer some excuse for the poor service he started insulting food habits from my city...

Absolutely amazing food! I go there whenever I can, and the owners and those who work there are so amazing! I can’t say much besides YOU NEED TO GO THERE!

Great coffee shop found off the tourist track. Excellent atmosphere and decor in the cafe. Coffee was warm but quality ingredients where used and prices are reasonable. Service was average when we went unfortunately.

We struck it lucky with this great wee place. The food was delicious - generous focaccia slices with a range of fresh good fillings on offer - and very well priced. They'll toast it if you want. The coffee was excellent. There is a tempting array of sweet items, from cakes to pastries and slices, and everything we tried was delicious. It's not flashy, but a cosy place to be, and the service was warm and genuine. Recommended!

Stopped in Caffé Pasticceria Stefano because of the crowd of locals and old world charm. My « Italian » breakfast was a pot of Breakfast tea and a cornetto (which was a pastry like a croissant). The cornetto I chose had a generous custard filling. The inside had pastry layers showing lamination but this pastry wasn’t laden with butter (like a French croissant). It was light and fluffy. I asked and found out the bakery was upstairs from the shop! The cost was moderate: Pot of water for tea + cornetto (paste) was €5.30. The caffé has several rooms inside, an outside patio and tables on the street. I’d love to return to try some of the other pastries and sweets! They look yummy! Food & Beverage: 5 Stars (a German tea brand) Service: 4.5 stars (they try to keep tables clear (I had to clear mine) & it might be a bit difficult to pay for a ticket to get your food & drink) Ambiance: 4.5 stars (Nice decor! It’s a bit hectic on busy fair days but a plus is there’s a WC upstairs)!

Great pasticceria that serves also serves very nice ice cream! Perfect for pause during your visit of the city center of Arezzo. Just go in, order some coffee and pastery and/or ice cream along with that. Has seats inside and outside. Would come back again!

I had a very bad experience at Bar Stefano. While I was at the hotel, I started craving some hot chocolate. I left the hotel in search of some delicious hot chocolate in the area, but unfortunately, I discovered Bar Stefano where things didn't go as planned. I was served expired hot chocolate, which made me run to the bathroom immediately after tasting their hot beverage. Thinking that things couldn't get worse, their bathroom smelled horrible... The smell of "fishes" was so unbearable that I took the risk to run back to my hotel. Hopefully, I made it back to the hotel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Nice location, traditional shop inside. Limited English for an area exposed to tourism. Not much of a smile on anyone in this store. An air of arrogance about owner/s. Food acceptable.

Great atmosphere and location. Old timey cafe/bar. Their caffe shakerato is perfect on a hot summer day. They also ask if you want milk in it. So nice
