If you like tripe you will love the lampredotto sandwich. Being honest it is not for me. But with all the hype I had to try. For 5 Euro and good service it’s worth going. It’s a great choice for street food and the guys were so nice too!

It was my first time eating Lampredotto so I don't really have a lot of benchmark. So being Asian I'm quite familiar with these special parts of pork so it didn't really turn me off but I could understand if this is not for everybody. We ordered a spicy version and we glad we did because it makes it much better and easier to eat. The bread was perfectly cooked. The meat inside was still warm. Loved it! Price is 5 Euro and it's a big sandwich. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. Btw we went super early. Saw later in the day the queue is longgggg

Well worth the walk from anywhere around Florence. The line varied but we were lucky to make an odd window between words of people. The tripe had zero gameyness but with great flavors like the local bistecca fiorentina beef. A bit of porcini and complimented with a cup/glass of red wine - so much better than a soda. Great staff who know how to keep the food flowing quickly and customers happy! If my stomach was a bottomless pit, I'd be here all the time!

Super friendly guys running this place and speak fluent English. Long queue and long wait for defo worth the hype. First time having stewed stomach sandwich - the meat doesn’t taste weird in any way which means it was prepared and cleaned properly. Highly recommend!

One show that really inspired us was Tucci in Italy, Season 1, Episode 1 (May 2025), which takes viewers through Tuscany’s rich culinary traditions and the deep pride locals have in their food. Since we were going to be in Florence, we knew we had to experience it ourselves. In the episode, Tucci visits a classic cucina povera staple—the lampredotto sandwich. This Florentine icon is served at roadside stands like Tripperia Pollini, near the Sant’Ambrogio market, a celebrated street food kiosk known for its lampredotto—a traditional sandwich made from stewed tripe, seasoned with herbs, and topped with salsa verde. We arrived at Tripperia Pollini and I/We had the pleasure of meeting Pier Paolo, who told us we could call him Peter Paul. I told him we had traveled from Arizona and had watched the Tucci in Italy, which made us want to try the famous dipped lampredotto with a Chianti! He prepared it right in front of us—and wow, it was incredible. I even had two! 😳 While I ate, Pier Paolo shared the history of their family stand. Sergio Pollini has been part of the Sant’Ambrogio neighborhood for decades. After a long career in clothing, he transitioned to the market trade in the 1990s and took over the lampredotto stand on Via dei Macci, where he and Pier Paolo have been serving locals for nearly 30 years. The stand itself has roots going back around 100 years, making it a true fixture of Florence’s street food scene. Over the years, it’s evolved from a simple setup on an Ape (a three-wheeled vehicle) to a fully equipped trailer. Talking with Pier Paolo was a highlight. Amazing atmosphere on the outdoor terrace that they’ve setup. Nice mist that keeps you cool and great view of the piazza. Inattentive service. Ordered roasted potatoes that never showed up. Ordered bistecca for the table, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Asked to be brought appropriate serving size. Too much steak was provided (~1.6. kg). Had to work hard to get attention if needed. Ordered: - gnocchi serrantina - bland - ravioli in truffle sauce - amazing - lasagna - good - carbonara - good - bistecca chianina - asked for medium rare, served rare - limoncello spritz - good 258 EUR

Walk pass fast. Absolutely tourist trap. We didn’t finish the pizza, soup, steak, or pasta. Microwavable food has better flavors. You just pay for the location, but if you walk a little more, you’ll have better food. The undisclosed service charge of 5 euro per person. Even in front of santa maria only charges 3.5euro. All 5 stars were written by employees or their friends. Notice they only review 1 with no comments. Takes forever to respond for bill. Unmotivated server. Highly not recommended. Save your money and calories!

The fagioli all’olio was simple but full of soul that immediately transported me to my Gramma's kitchen. My husband’s ribollita had that same magic: hearty, deeply flavorful, and beautifully rustic. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, but more importantly, the flavors were honest. My Nazzarda salad was a bright, modern counterpoint, vibrant greens, tender tuna, and that delicate balance of balsamic and olive oil that made every bite sing. In a sea of restaurants vying for attention in the heart of Florence, La Bistecca truly delivers authenticity, warmth, and dishes that taste like they were made with care. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture any photos, we were far too famished to pause before diving in. I would like to say that I had an excellent experience here with the food and the staff , especially my water Hossein. He was excellent anticipating my needs and wants from his suggestions to his attention to detail. The food was great and he mad the experience even better

La Bistecca - Osteria Fiorentina offers a classic steak menu with a variety of cuts and prices to suit your taste and budget. We opted for the Chianti-grown beef prepared alla Fiorentina, the classic Tuscan style. The steak was exquisite! Beautifully prepared. The dish was served with roasted potatoes and a green salad which complimented the beef. I was hesitant about the location being right on the Piazza, but there was a live music performance which created a wonderful backdrop and a nice energy to the overall environment.

Had a good steak here — well cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The portion was generous and definitely satisfying. Loved the ambiance too — dining with a beautiful view of the plaza made the experience even better. Recommended for anyone craving a hearty meal with a great atmosphere.

I had a truly wonderful experience trying the combination of salted pistachio with white chocolate and hazelnut. The salty-sweet contrast of the pistachio was a perfect counterpoint to the creamy richness of the white chocolate, and the nutty hazelnut flavor tied everything together beautifully. It was a delightful discovery, and I can't wait to have it again.

I had gelato in quite a lot of places in Italy, but this is one of the best gelato I've ever had. Please try the cremino rivareno! It's so creamy that it is more like a cold cream than an icecream!

We loved it! Couldn’t find the place we were going to (another one we love) because it was Sunday. And ended up here, my partner who loves coffee liked his affogato more than regular coffee ice cream, and I loved mine too. There was a lot of people, and I found it a bit pricey compared to others.

The best gelato in Florence. We stopped by every day of our trip (sometimes even twice a day), the owner was very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The pistachio salato (salted) and strachiatella were AMAZING. We traveled to another area of Italy after Florence and none compared to this gelato.

I got the pistachio and caramel gelato. The pistachio flavour was very deep and my brother’s mango sorbet was excellent (although I’m not usually a fan of sorbet)! It was some of the best gelato I’ve had in Italy so far! We came here at 9:30 PM and it wasn’t too crowded. The lady at the cash was very friendly.

We had a nice dinner in this restaurant. Reservation highly recommended. Food was super good. The octopus was my personal highlight. The Tatar was for my taste a little bit “boring”. Service was top. Overall a good experience and highly recommended.

We absolutely love this spots for locals. Had such an amazing lunch that we returned to their wine bar next door and for dinner. It gets packed so go early. Great service - filled with locals which we love. If they are packed and you have to wait you can grab a bottle of wine next door at their wine bar. Worth the wait!!

This place is cool. Like the relaxing vibe and good food here. The cream brûlée has a natural refreshing flavour and it was the best we have even tried. We will definitely come back again if I come to Florence.

I have never been so insulted in my life. I'm a single woman from America Traveling that sat at the bar and basically was ignored for two hours. I had to grab a waitress in the salon to help me get my food my dessert and my coffee. So disappointed I would say do not visit this restaurant. Completely ignored look at this photos of the staff and the people sitting next to me.

I had a wonderful time visiting this restaurant and went for a celebratory lunch here. The servers were kind and warm and the food was excellent. I would argue the octopus we had here was probably the best I have ever had. We also got the ravioli in broth which was great. The santo spritz was really delicious too. All round a great experience and would come back if I was ever in Florence. Warm vibe energy and great food!

My Italian partner praised so much this place for their schiachiata fiorentina, he said the place is authentic. Well i never tried any so when he took it home for me the schiachiatta tastes good. The next time we decided to have dessert in the cafe. It was very busy, very lack of service and confusing. We got the tiramisu cake looks very tempting but tastes honestly i make better tiramisu’s taste than this..

Read some reviews of Florence recommended dish; some of them said that we need to try "schiacciata fiorentina" Here -- kind of Orange sponge cake, although i usually don't prefer orange sponge cake, i think i have to try. Sadly, there didn't make it because of not the period of time (maybe because not the best time to make this dish according to the harvest time?) So i ask what is their best seller. One of the customer directly said: cremino. And the staff also agree. Kind of pastry filled with custard? IT WAS SOOOO GOOD Highly recommend, u have to try. While only in Florence for 1 night and I am so glad we stumbled upon this incredible restaurant. The staff were so welcoming, and went ABOVE and BEYOND our expectations. Wow! We had specific dietary restrictions, and they created absolutely perfect dishes!! Please go here! You won’t regret it. It is pricey, but you get amazing food with the highest quality ingredients. Oh!!! Don’t forget to get some pastry desserts before leaving. Melt in your mouth!!

Good espresso and orange juice.

One of the best meals we’ve had in Florence. The service made us feel at home and the food was delightful. We had the mix salami, tortellini in butter sauce, artichoke pie, and the chicken breast in butter sauce. Everything was delicious but the highlight was the chicken. The wafting aroma of the sizzling butter as it came to your table made it so much more amazing. Dessert is a must-get the meringue cake layered with ice-cream and topped with the sweetest raspberries. Already living in my head as an unforgettable dessert. Definitely make a reservation in advance we got lucky with a no-show (Thanks Mr. Gary!!).

This spot is definitely worth checking out. Reservations are a must since it’s a small and cozy place—try calling ahead, and if you can’t get through, it’s worth swinging by in person to book. They usually seat at 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM, and I think they also do lunch from about 12:30 to 2:00. We started with the tortellinis with beef, which was fantastic. Then we tried the butter chicken and a Florentine steak—both were excellent. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the steak had that perfect grilled flavor. The artichoke with egg was also a nice surprise. We shared everything between three adults, and it was more than enough. Don’t skip dessert if you go—it really completes the meal.

Best meal we had in Florence. The artichoke pie was the stand out but everything we ordered was delightful, it’s a great but simple menu which is always the best kind. Excellent and friendly service. You will need a booking and it seems that there are 2 sittings at dinner.

Nothing short of amazing! The best Florentine steak we’ve had so far! The server made some great recommendations. We got the artichoke pie, the steak with some chicory salad and some raspberries in lemon for dessert. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to go back and try their chicken next!

This place was the BEST we had during our Italy trip. My husband and I went 30 mins before opening at lunch time, as we did not have a reservation. While we were waiting, slowly others started coming to wait as well. As soon as doors opened, they seated us, despite us not having a reservation. We ordered the tomatoes, butter chicken, and tortellini in brodo. Every single dish was PERFECT. We were served the tortellini in broth first, and they split the portions for us too. Tortellini was al dente, with a meat stuffing inside. It was soooo good. The broth was super savory and flavorful. Then the chicken and tomatoes. These two dishes complimented each other SO WELL. The chicken breast was super juicy, flavorful, and not overwhelming. The tomatoes were super refreshing, and it complimented the chicken perfectly. Make sure to dip the bread in the olive oil with tomatoes. 10000% recommend !

Reservations are a MUST! And yes, they are typically booked up way in advance. It's a tiny restaurant that serves some delicious local dishes. Omg, I'm still dreaming of that mouth watering chicken! Because of its size, do expect to sit with others or close by others. Best way to connect with people as a result of this highly sought after restaurant.

Warning!!! Do not go here!! Very sad that I chose this as my first pasta meal I had in Italy. Came here due to all the good reviews and talks about how this is a very authentic place Was extremely pumped to try Ordered Florentine steak and marinara pasta ….soon greatly disappointed Two other people next to us also ordered the steak One of which we struck up a conversation with because he saw us picking at our steak and told us he was also very underwhelmed with the food The other group next to us didn’t even bother to finish Marinara Pasta 2/5 Nothing special, pasta noodles way too soft and very underwhelming. Definitely had way better pasta. We were recommended by the person sitting next to us to go to Trattoria Sabatino instead. Glad we went for dinner! Way better! Florentine steak 55euro/kg and minimum purchase of 600grams. Expensive compared to other places. Nothing else to say besides…. 🤢 bad. Might be rated at the top of one the worst steaks I have ever eaten. I had 1/3 of my steak and stopped wasting my stomach on bad food.

We made our reservations two solid months before we arrived in Florence and its a good thing that i did. In his confirmation reply, he suggested that I remind him a few days before and cautioned me not to be late or I would risk losing my spot. I reminded him 4 times. When we got there he pointed to the sign that said they were booked for the day and we were 10 minutes early! So I reminded him that I made reservations 2 moths ago. He stopped and said, "Are yiu Michael?" "Yes, I am!" He shook my hand and welcomed us in happily and sat us at a table. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is legendary and Trattoria Mario is the place to go for it. The hand cut and chop the bone to order. You can hear the ckeaver hitting that bone because the kitchen is semi open. You can see and hear and smell what is going on in there. You order, they bring out that raw porterhouse, 1 kg or 2.2 pounds, I approved it and 10 minutes later we were eating the best piece of beef that I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly rare! Delicious and definitely worth the 2 month reservation. We planned our activities in beautiful Florence around this perfect meal! Thank you, Mario and staff!

Incredible hole-in-the-wall with authentic food and experience. We had the bolognese and Florentine steak. The pasta sauce was incredible - such a rich flavor. The steak was perfectly seasoned, if a bit on the rare side. We were lucky to get in for lunch without a reservation. It's not a big place, and the waiter said they are always full. We would definitely come back the next time we're here.

I'm a bit of a steak snob and stopped ordering it out as it's usually disappointing. The T-Bone here is amazing! Super soft inside, wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked which to me should be how every steak restaurant is. Came out rare. Very friendly and accommodating, managed to squeeze us in for an hour but would recommend pre booking a spot. Wish I'd come here earlier in our trip as I've only eaten the steak an hour ago and already want more. Various size steaks so if you want a bigger one ask for it, ours was 700g. Also had the meat pasta which was also delicious and the best one of our trip. Paid around 51 euros for the steak and pasta dish which I think is excellent value

Crowded, squeezy and small tables. Do order the steak with zucchini. We had a 1.3kg bone in for 4. At €70+, you have a heart serving of a very good steak. However, if you like your meat medium, this is not the place. The cut was around 1.5 inch thick. While it had a good char, much of the center was raw. I would much prefer it not so thick and I get an even amount of charred and raw meat.

Truly amazing service by Mario’s familia! They were so sweet and friendly and the steak here was soft. Thought the steak would be too rare and tough but it tasted perfectly cooked and delicious. Had a nice hard sear and well seasoned. The tomato beans were also so comforting and tender. The place is quaint but bustling, felt like the real florentine deal!!

i would give ⭐⭐⭐ for the food but ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the service! the waiter was really fun and we came earlier ahead of our reservation (we visited the place 2 days before our reservation to make one) and he served us prosecco which was really appreciated. however, felt like the food can be improved. the fried zucchini flower is our favorite, it's light, crispy and lightly salted. duck ragu pappardelle is good although not the tastiest. we feel that the rabbit is a bit tough and the sauce is too tomato-ey which is not our preference. tiramisu is quite light and creamy, pretty good. do reserve in advance as the place is really busy.

It is not a hype to visit Vini e Vecchi Sapori while you're in Florence. One of a kind place with vibrant vibe, amazing staff and extra delicious food which varies between days. Be sure to have a reservation as it is almost impossible to go there without one. I made it the day before the actual visit, while exploring the city I visited osteria to make a reservation. Staff is just simply amazing amd helpful. On the actual day I was welcomed and seated as per reservation. I tried spinach, Ravioli and espresso (no cappuccino here). Ravioli with ricotta, spinach and pink sauce was really straight from another world. Simply don't miss the place, no words needed to describe the whole experience and fun there.

my #1 restaurant/meal in the world!!!! i had visited vini e vecchi 8 years ago and had the best dinner ever - we ordered 13 plates of food for 3 people, and then reordered all our favorites for a total of 19 plates that night. for years i have recommended it to friends and anxiously awaited my return. it was so good the first time that i was truly nervous - what if it didn’t live up to the memory!! well, it did - and then some🥲 you know in the film ratatouille when the food critic takes a bite and is transported to his childhood, watching his mom preparing ratatouille for him, before zooming back into real time and a single tear falling down his cheek? that is the experience i had returning to this incredible place. quite literally tears of joy when i put the first bite of pasta in my mouth!!! sincere, heartfelt service and the most comfortable, warm vibe in the dining room. the pasta is simply the best you can get anywhere! i am a pasta connoisseur - seriously i ordered 4 pastas each day that we visited - and nothing will ever beat this. this experience was the highlight of my italy trip and the team here made it better than i could’ve dreamt. thank you so much for everything, i can’t wait to return 🥲 ❤️

On our last night in Italy, we had the BEST meal ever at a charming restaurant. Fede and the staff made us feel like we were dining at a friend's home. The duck ragu and beef ragu were absolutely mind-blowing, rich with flavor and perfectly cooked. The filet with peppercorn sauce and lamb chops were equally impressive, cooked to perfection and bursting with deliciousness. My husband couldn't believe I ate ALL of my two dishes. He was hoping for a few bites to share. We relied on the staff's recommendations, and they did not disappoint! The camaraderie among the patrons was infectious, leading us to sing along to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline." It truly was the highlight of our trip, and I only wish we had discovered this gem sooner!

Amazing place, totally deserving of being ranked the fourth best restaurant in Florence as per Timeout’s 2025 article. The restaurant is small, reservations are a must. Fully booked for dinners, usually you are luckier booking for next day’s lunch. Staff is very friendly and relaxed, not rushing you to free the table. The best is the food! I have had fried zucchini flower, burrata and tomato pasta and zucchini flower and saffron pasta, everything top quality! Prices are very reasonable for such a central location. You must visit!

Avoid – All Hype, No Substance Honestly, this was the most disappointing meal we had in Italy. Completely overhyped and not worth the effort. I tried calling multiple times, weeks in advance, and even asked my Airbnb host to help, but I couldn’t get through until two weeks before our trip. The earliest table available was 9 pm. Still, I was excited because of all the glowing reviews and long queues we had seen outside. We arrived two hours early (as suggested by a waiter) hoping to be seated sooner. Instead, we were offered uncomfortable chairs right by the door, next to smokers, and told we could order wine while we waited outside. We declined and returned just before our 9 pm reservation, only to wait nearly another half an hour for our table. When we were finally seated, we were crammed into a tight corner table. The experience didn’t improve from there. The food was completely underwhelming, bland and forgettable. The courgette flowers and raspberry tiramisu I had been looking forward to were not even available. The mains were cooked fine, but tasted of little more than plain white sauce. Service was polite enough, but even the tourists seated next to us admitted they were disappointed. It really feels as though this place thrives on hype and reputation rather than genuine quality. There are far better places in Italy where you will be welcomed warmly, seated comfortably, and actually enjoy your meal. I think I am being generous giving this two stars, and I know this review will not affect their popularity, but I hope it saves others from a regrettable decision to dine here

The staff were so friendly, the place has a great vibe! We came in with no reservation and they were PACKED but they managed to seat us right before closing at lunch. Best duck pasta ever! Definitely make a reservation if you plan to come here.

Absolutely delicious! Was walking from the train station towards our hotel and saw a small lineup of people in front of an unassuming sign. We stopped and googled the spot and read the reviews. We decided to stop and wait the 10 minutes to open. So happy that we waited. The food was delish. They don't take reservations and only open for lunch, so come early. Totally worth it. Not fancy. Simple delicious food and full of character. Both from the servers and the decor. We loved it so much that we came the next day as well but had to wait 45 minutes.

Lunch only, best trattoria in Firenze. My wife and I first came here from a recommendation in 2012 and had a memorable meal. We have returned to Florence just to let our kids taste this restaurants Florentine steak and it did not disappoint. The perfectly cooked steak with strong charring is hard to compare to other restaurants. Our steak was 1.1kg and fed 3 of us with a side of fries for the kids. Tearattoria Sergio Gozzi has been operating since 1915 and the restaurant charm is the simplicity and authenticity of Tuscany. Service charge is €2/person and we'll worth it

Wonderful find while wandering through Florence. We figured it had to be good if they had a line of people down the street waiting for it to open. We were not wrong on our assumption. We had some wonderful ravioli, mostachili. My son ordered the largest steak I have seen and it was amazing! It is only served rare, they bring out the steak so you can see the marbling. We enjoyed the Chianti great food and atmosphere. Definatly stop if you are in the area. Highly recommend!!!

Another amazing food experience in Florence. They are open for lunch times and it is not possible to reserve, so you may have to wait. Food is traditional Italian and is so good. Prices are reasonable and portions are perfect. Wine is good too.

I had the ribollita.. delicious flavor and I ate every bite. Also had the ravioli (ricotta and spinach) with meat sauce. Ravioli was a slightly salty for my taste, but the meat sauce was fantastic. So much depth and flavor. Finished it off with the profiterole, which was so yummy: homemade and super high-quality ingredients. My accompanying cappuccino was a little strong, I prefer more milk, but otherwise I will absolutely will be coming back here next time I come to Florence, and will be recommending to anyone I know visiting.

Trattoria da Burde is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey. Located in the outskirts of Florence, this place is where locals go for a hearty, traditional meal. The atmosphere is simple and warm – no frills, just good food and good people. I ordered the pappa al pomodoro and the bollito misto, a variety of boiled meats served with sauces. Everything was rustic and deeply satisfying. The ingredients were clearly top-notch, and the kitchen doesn’t cut corners. The staff were welcoming and happy to walk us through the menu. We felt like guests in someone’s home. Prices were fantastic – around €30 per person for a full meal with wine. It’s a great spot if you want to explore beyond the city center and experience a slower pace. There's a sense of culinary history here, and you can tell the recipes have been passed down through generations. If you love traditional food done right, this is a must-visit. Definitely one of the most memorable meals we had in Florence.

Despite being located far away from the city centre, we were really happy to experience good local food at this lovely restaurant and it was worth it at the end of the day. Service is perfect, the team showed us great hospitality - and explained everything to us tourists. We got the chance to try out various different types of food, which were delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent lunch spot or perfect for a nice date night. Charmingly authentic little local spot! The Fiorentina Bistecca was wonderful. I and my friend had the Pici Pesto and Pici Aglione. So good. The bar is in front. Prompt and delightful service.

I’m definitely coming back. Delicious food, service was great. I didn’t feel rushed to order, eat or leave. The filetto was unbelievably tender. It does come with some fat and nerves, but honestly, you don’t want to overwork such high quality meat. Cold cuts and cheese were amazing. Wine by the glass was also insanely good. My only regret was not having someone to share a bistecca fiorentina with. I saw a few reviews complaining about the food or service. I’m not trying to make excuses or say they’re wrong, maybe it was just a busy day or something. My experience was excellent.

Overall great. Original atmosphere. A place for locals. The Fiorentina was nicely done. House wine very drinkable. However, the service was unwelcoming and raw at first. The place was 2/3 empty for a very late lunch; we had a reservation, but got by far the worst table, half into a passage towards the kitchen, because the rest was obviously already prepared for the next day. The annoying Germans we can be 😎, we forced our way towards a better table. (Just insist!) In the end, our waiter even warmed up a bit, after we ordered one dessert after the other.

Our final dinner in Florence was at @trattoriadaburde for Bisteca Florentine. We were excited to try this Florentine dish as we are all steak lovers. My suggestion if you don’t like very rare or blue steaks is not to have this. Thankfully I like it like this but for others in our group it was borderline edible at this doneness. The food was good and the sides of potatoes and seasonal veg were very good. This restaurant is a bit further out and the English speaking ability is much less. We had a lot of trouble communicating. In the end Ryan spoke some Spanish which she understood a little of, and we used google translate. We managed to get everything delivered that we asked for. The restaurant is beautiful and very large which means service can be slow. If you are heading out here for dinner be warned that it’s very hard to get a taxi afterwards. We were on a tight time limit as we were departing Florence late that night, so I would definitely come and try this again with someone who speaks Italian and without any time constraints.

The Good: Absolutely Delicious Cantucci and Heavenly Scent I visited this store in early September, and my initial impression was fantastic. I first discovered their amazing Cantucci at a local restaurant where they were served, and I immediately knew I had to track down the source. Walking into the store, the smell alone is worth the visit. The aroma is absolutely divine—it was impossible not to be tempted by all the treats. The Cantucci itself is a delight, truly one of the best I had in Florence. If you are looking purely for delicious, authentic Tuscan biscuits, this is the place. The Bad: Extremely Poor Customer Service, Billing Issue, and Forced Chargeback Unfortunately, the experience was significantly marred by the poor service at the counter. The attendant handling my transaction was clearly not paying attention to my order. She confused the items and, more importantly, processed the purchase twice. When I noticed the double charge on my card and politely questioned her about the error, she outright refused to refund the money, claiming she had not processed the transaction twice. Despite the fact that my card statement clearly showed two separate deductions for the exact same amount, she continued to deny the mistake. I only managed to get my money back by initiating a formal chargeback process with my bank. This kind of dishonesty and unwillingness to resolve a clear billing error is unacceptable, especially as it forced me to go through the lengthy and stressful process of a chargeback. Conclusion While the quality of the Cantucci and the wonderful atmosphere are top-notch, the highly disappointing customer service and the refusal to correct a billing mistake unfortunately overshadow the quality of the products. A business's rating is also a reflection of its staff, and in this case, the attendant's actions severely impacted the overall score and caused a significant headache by forcing a chargeback to recover the funds.

We tasted a pan gocciolo al cioccolato and it was really good. Also, the service is really nice. The man baking in the window welcomed us with a great smile and the lady was very charming.

The cantucci tastes so good ! The lady behind the counter is very friendly. We bought three bags of mixed flavors back to share with friends. Highly recommended.

The amazing sweet aromas wafting across the street stopped us in a our tracks. Watching the cantuccini being made just added to the lust for these delicious treats as we queued patiently. Friendly, English speaking service left us with a bagful of delights for later.

Bought some cantucci and bacione (decadent chocolate cookie with crumbled exterior and gooey interior). Amazing Bacione!! (8Euros for small size. Price varies by size) Friendly and eloquent young lady was manning the store. The cantucci had sugar crystals sprinkled over. If you like that sort, you might like it. I’d skip the orange-chocolate flavor.

Fantastic bistecca! The restaurant is more detached from city centre, but worth going a bit further. Restaurant is modern, classy, but not pretentious. Staff is very friendly. I had the house bistecca, at 60€/kg, cooked to perfection (rare, like cow meat should be!). Staff was kind enough to bring us the right amount of meat. We also asked for baked potatoes and tomato salad, both amazingly cooked. Finished off the meal with a fantastic tiramissu. Highly appreciated!

I went to this restaurant with two friends after a recommendation, and I really enjoyed our dinner. The food was excellent and high quality. I especially loved my choice of meat with potatoes. The restaurant itself is lovely, situated in a quiet area but still central and easy to access. The staff were very friendly, and our waiter was professional and gave great wine recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place!

This place is a wine lover’s dream. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and paired local wines with each dish beautifully. I tried the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Chianina beef) — well cooked and nicely seasoned. I particularly enjoyed the wild boar pasta and the roasted vegetables. The small, cozy interior makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s home. Definitely one of the best spots for both food and wine in Florence.

Excellent meal...pleasant and homely from the moment I walked in. Like going by an old friend for lunch and old talk. The mixture of locals, friends and tourists let me know quickly this was going to be a quality meal which did not disappoint. I did the stewed beef ravioli ( amazing!) and the skirt steak with white beans ( also amazing!) and for dessert the small cheese plate. Every bite was perfect and the recommended wine pairings were nothing short of excellent. I honestly would go do it all over again. A truly satisfying meal!! Kudos to the chef and staff!

Amazing service and food! The pasta with the sun-dried tomatoes was my favorite. We ended up here on a whim around 8pm and they gave us a table even without reservations but asked if we would be done by 10pm we told them no worries that we would be. They never once rushed us and they even encouraged us to take our time when I realized it was past 10. The food was just so good! They even split the pasta into separate plates as our family of 4 wanted to share them and I do know that’s not how they do it in Italy So that was very kind of them to do. We had wished to go back but didn’t have luck making a reservation before we had to leave. 10/10

Amazingly tasty food! We had pate for antipasti that was super delicate yet very flavorful, was amazing with few pieces of tasted bread and a solid portion to share. Pasta dishes were great too. I had pasta with funghi, loved the taste and the aroma. We will be back for sure.

One of the most incredible dining experiences I have ever had. They are on the Michelin list but I think that doesn’t describe how wonderful, inventive, and chic this establishment is! They truly deserve a Michelin star or two or three! Food, vibes, cocktails, staff, all incredible.

This place lacks substance but trying way too hard to be Pop… I definitely appreciated the attentive service, but my overall experience was deeply underwhelming. The restaurant’s aesthetic leans heavily into trendy, "pop" sensibilities, but the execution lacks cultural authenticity and culinary finesse—resulting in dishes that feel gimmicky rather than thoughtfully crafted. - Bao: The dough was unacceptably thick—reminiscent of pizza crust—completely overpowering the filling and betraying the delicate texture expected of proper bao. - Dong Po Rou (东坡肉): A shocking misstep. The braised pork was dry and choking, lacking the melt-in-your-mouth richness this classic dish demands. Even a humble Hangzhou eatery’s version (my previous benchmark for "worst") was vastly superior. - 烤麸 (Braised Wheat Gluten): Overwhelmingly salty, with the artificial aftertaste of canned preservatives—no depth or balance. - Misguided "Dream of Red Chamber" Theme: As a person who once dis a PhD in Hong Lou Meng, I was baffled by the inclusion of lychee (a fruit, not a cooking ingredient in the text) and lobster (never mentioned in the novel). This feels like a superficial attempt to capitalize on literary prestige without genuine understanding. The service team deserves praise, but the kitchen and concept need urgent reevaluation. Authenticity isn’t about ornate decor or name-dropping classics—it’s about respect for technique and tradition. Currently, this feels like a hollow pastiche.

Italian/Western/“modern” twist on fine dining Chinese cuisine. Very strong artistic direction in the food, experience and interior design. The staff are excellent and it is clear that every dish, and moment is passionately cared for. I had ‘meat’ tasting menu with tasting wine. Wine pairing in line with the creative concept. An excellent experience with also a creative sense of humour. Highlights for me, beef muscle starter (long cook Chinese spice beef with modern start twist) , (gold) soup dumpling and the fun candy inspired Yoyoi Kusama salad - the latter paired with a tuscany mango-peach white wine. For me personally as an asian, I would like to see stronger chinese confidence in the flavours - it is there but I think it can be bolder! I would guess the main clientele is not yet used to strong asian flavours + knowledge. I enjoy this tension however. “Ethnic” food is always some form of negotiation. Deserving of a Michelin star. This restaurant is a real gem in Florence. It is a Modern creative Chinese Experience. The tasting menu pairing with cocktails will be blow your mind. The Chef is so pasionate, the whole experience was incredible. Highly recomended.

Really cool setting with great architecture. This place oozes cool and the food lives up to that. Friendly knowledgeable staff and excellent dim sum and other creative Chinese dishes. It’s definitely worth a visit if your looking for something a bit different

As interesting as it is for a couple of Americans to travel to Florence to eat a dim sum tasting menu, there were absolutely zero regrets. Everything from the atmosphere, taste and service were perfect. I love how the chef came to our table and spoke about her childhood and how it inspired the dishes. You can definitely feel a child like nostalgia come out from the presentation. Everything was incredibly playful. I went into this experience with not having a pallet for sea food, and I am happy to say this changed it for me. This restaurant made me LOVE seafood. The highlight was definitely the sea bass and the sea urchin bao which I would’ve never believed to say before. If you are in Florence, this is definitely a must try. Congratulations for making it on the Michelin guide and I cannot wait to watch the restaurant grow in popularity.

All dishes were delicious. This place was recommended by our host in Florence as a place that locals would eat. Chocolate cake was great and served warm like a soufflé. I highly recommend.

Good food, bad service. For asian like us to note. We came in 6:30pm and knock on their door ask to book at 7:30pm, since its just an hour away we waited at the piazza outside while having the nice gelato from opposite establishment. upon 7:30 we enter and the old guy manager/owner wearing SLIPPERS, cater us to our table. the then lady ask if we want still or sparkling water, we said we dont what water and she said ok. after awhile the old guy take our order, we orderd one secondi and 2 prima mains, for drinks only one glass of rose. the his fussed as to why only one i guess cause he ask my husband what he wants he said he didnt want any. I said all the orders can come altogether. From what i understand, he understand what i said cause i said it twice. he say it again. Turns out he dont. After he took our order he talk to his lady staff and from what i believe his saying we are cheapskate who dont order any drink cause the lady laugh and look at us. LOL we waited for more than 15 mins for the dish and the pasta came first split into two plates which i never i ask, we try to wait for the two other dish but it dont come so we just ate, when we almost finish only then they served the two dishes. So correct he didnt understand to Serve altogether. the feeling and atmosphere while we wait is too uncomfortable at its best because we can see how they take care of other tables except us. That old guy talk to all tables from french to spanish to english speaking white people with warm. And i guess because we dont order any drinks they are pissed off as maybe they think we dont want to spend. We wanted to order more actually cause we are more of plenty of dishes than drinks couple but then because of the racism no need. Know that guest who dont order drinks doesnt mean they dont have the spending capacity. It can be just because they dont drink comfortably like all italians. Dont judge your guests base on color, order or whatnot. Your food is really good but your service and racism sucks!

Delicious, innovative, friendly and authentic. After 2.5wks in Italy, Il Magazzino was one of the best. How exciting to see the creativity in offal preparation, with the flavour and textures in each dish utterly on point. The salty crunch of the Totani di Bosco and rich gelatinous broth of the Lampredotto al rosmarino in particular are in my dreams. Service is friendly and fun, and there’s a real down-to-earth, authentic vibe. Pretty sure we were the only non-locals there, and it felt like such a privilege to find this place among all the tourist traps in Florence. Grazie mille!!

I loved the location and the cozy atmosphere. The lampredotto polpette were amazing, we kept thinking about them for the rest of the trip. My ricotta pasta was a bit too salty, but the tomatoes were fresh and the pasta had the perfect texture. Service was a bit awkward, it’s like the waitress was bored of us.

We were so lucky to walk in and get a table for 4 with no reservation. The staff and owner were super friendly, and the food was amazing. The meatballs, pasta, and desserts were the best I've had. Highly recommend for spectacular food, non-touristy atmosphere at super reasonable prices.

The lampredotto (cow's stomach) bollito (small plate) as a second dish was amazing. They give you a whole bottle of green sauce and chilli oil to add to the stripe. So good! Ravioli of lampredotto and ox's tongue were good too.

We found this place from the osteria 2025 app, which I would recommend to all Italy travelers. We were a party of three and had a truly spectacular evening. You should definitely try the lampredotto, a florentine delicacy made from the tender stomach of cattle.

I visited in the evening and found the staff to be great, the food even better and the atmosphere from the markets (just below on the first floor) to be lively but not loud. I had a delicious and perfectly cooked fillet steak. The wine serving was generous. This is a great value restaurant on the top floor of the markets. You get a good view of the action on floor below but without the hustle and bustle. I definitely recommend.

I researched so many restaurants to find a spot to eat authentic Bistecca alla Fiorentina and decided on this place because of the reviews. I'm glad we ate here because it was fantastic and a great price. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. We also ordered potatoes and they were very good too. The service was excellent and our choice of wine very good. If you are looking for a great steak at a no frills place, this is your place.

We had a beautiful bissteca alla Fiorentina. When asked how to cook the meat, the answer was simple. You're in Florence, have it cooked the way it's supposed to be.

The food tasted excellent but unfortunately we got very bad food poisoning and were up all night by the toilet bowl. We think it is likely from the tartare. So sad because everything else was good.

The food was OK but the service was the worst I have had in a long time , when ordering they did not take our drinks order so had to walk over and ask the waiter , when we finished our food we waited 45 minutes and they did not clear out able so I had to walk over and ask by this time the staff were sitting and talking to friends at a table and they were not interested in us at all , I asked for our desert ( which we paid for ) and I was told it’s finished but was still charged full price so I would like a refund please for this ? This ruined our night in Firenze and wish we had chosen one of the many other steak restaurants

Mercato Centrale is always a great experience! I’ve never been there when it isn’t bustling and busy, so my advice is to find a table for your party before grabbing food and drink. There are so many options for cuisines, and the drinks at the bar in the center are fantastic. Best Hugo Spritz in Florence! From the U.S.? Don’t skip the downstairs portion to buy all your friends and family seasonings, candy, and other food souvenirs. Note that the hours on the bottom floor are a bit shorter, so go earlier in the day!

This market is a must visit, there’s a lot to see and experience for local culture and international culinary delights. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, and other local ingredients including spices and oils and much more. There’s a food court that has a wide range of local dishes, international cuisine and a variety of drinks. It’s also a great place to taste a little bit of everything as they also have bite size portions and maybe a quick bite or a full meal. Make sure you don’t miss the food stall upstairs, it does get pretty busy and we struggled to find a place to sit but we did eventually. Also if you buy anything keep the receipt in case you need to use the toilet or else you’ll need to pay €1.

There are a lot to see and do in Florence, visit to Il Mercato Céntrale is one worthy of it. Whether to try authentic Firenze cuisine or just curious about local markets, this one could save some money. Depending on what food you love or want to try, prices are a bit lower than near the touristy areas. You can find almost anything and everything here and definitely quite an experience, very different from outside or a few blocks from it.

WARNING – Tourist Scam!!! I GOT CHARGED 5 TIMES MORE THAN THE ACTUAL PRICE Be careful if you visit the truffle products shop on the ground floor. The store has lots of Korean sticky notes stuck all around, and the staff said they were left by “happy Korean customers” — all fake and part of the scam! A Sri Lankan guy working there offered us a lot of truffle oil and balsamic vinegar samples and kept pushing us to buy. I bought a truffle balsamic glaze for €30 — only to find out later it sells for €6 elsewhere. There’s no signal inside, so you can’t check prices before paying. I can’t believe they scam people like this. Stay far, far away from this market! I tried my best to find the photos of the store on Google and realized the store doesn’t even have a name lol. It’s the one next to no.241. The last two photos are those I took in the store.

I had twice of fresh pasta dishes, One is Tagliatelle with beef Ragu, one another was Ravioli. They're so freshly prepared. The menu was displayed with numbers to follow. Gelato was good value, 3 flavours with plain waffle corn and wafer for €5.

So Happy our hotel was near the il Mercato Centrale Firenze (Central Market Florence). I enjoyed the morning sights, smells, and taste’s at the market and it provided something for everyone. Vendors were friendly and informative about their products and it made life simple when I just wanted a snack and a glass of wine.

We were received with hospitality and asked to try first the ingredients before the sandwhich was made (type of bread, salami, prosciutto, cheese, sauces....) So you can choose the best ingredients for creating the perfect panini! It was delicious and the owner was super nice! Great experience.

Outstanding sandwiches- we went THREE times in a row! Best ones in town, despite “more hyped” shops. Fair priced, served HOT and good service. Lots of options for meat and veggie lovers; tons of bread, cooked veggies and cheese choices! Limited seating outside (with lots of pigeons) and a bit of a wait, but don’t let that get in the way- speak to the owner in Italian using google translate to ease communicate issues.

Great little sandwich shop right next to the Duomo. The owners and workers were all incredibly kind. They let us sample the meat and cheese beforehand which was great. My husband and I split a single sandwich but we should have listened to the owner and each got our own! Don’t miss this place when you’re in Florence!

Really cool experience and service. Definitely NOT the best sandwich in Florence though. Panini Toscani is known for letting visitors sample different meats before they build the sandwich and they have seating outside next to the Duomo. I think I didn't love their bread / how they toasted it. Other shops have better sandwich combos in my opinion. But hey it's all relative - you should still swing by for the experience and to try it out for yourself.

This is such a small little cafe, where you pick your bread and the meats that go in your paini. This was my favorite sandwich in all of Italy! I was enjoying eating it so much that i forgot to take a pic until it was half gone. So good! And they're have a few tables outside, so you can sit in the piazza by the Duomo.

Very good panini. Better than most popular places. The staff are also friendly & help in choosing. They provided meat & cheese samples to help us choose. I would give this a 5/5, but giving this a 4 as the older gentleman who collects the payment does not provide receipt for payment.

OMG absolutely fantastic. Loved how they give you samples of the 4 different meats, multiple cheeses and then you pick 3 toppings. The sandwiches were huge and amazing. Very cool to see the owner working and hanging out there too.

Good pizza, not life changing, but it’s still good. Got a margherita - crisp and fragrant skin, fluffy and soft inside, fresh toppings. A great standard of what pizza should be like. We came 5 minutes before opening, got a seat first and ordered rather quickly! I would not want to queue for this.

Dough is ok, not very fluffy though; no fresh mushrooms on the pizza (but mushrooms out of a can) and cheap ham, cut very thick. Pizza looks nice but I’ve had better pizza at home than here and did not like it at all. Would not go there again. Outside seating is super loud with traffic right next to the tables.

This was my favorite pizza of all time back in 2010. I’ve had 15 years to taste many others and it still is in my top 3. I got the basic Margarita and the sausage and mushrooms. They were both delicious. I usually hate mushrooms on pizza but they were so fresh and good I ate the majority of my wife’s pizza. Pro tip.. get in the take out line and save a ton of time waiting in line. We took ours back to our ABB and enjoyed it just the same. This place got mega famous and you will wait at least 20-45 minutes in line anytime between opening and 9 pm. Went at 3pm and there was no one in the take out line. Went got our pizzas in under 10 minutes!

All our pizzas are delicious.. there was a wait about 30 minutes to get in. If you have a large group take turns beating in line while you get a drink across the road :-) I only complaint with the place was that it was extremely hot and there weren’t enough fans in there. Take a foldable or hand fan with you if you go there in the summer.

Loved the pizza here! We had the margarita, gusta pizza, and the truffle — all were delicious! The hospitality was great as well, our waiter was so nice and funny! Will definitely be back!

Ordered the Calabrese and Gustapizza (per the waitresses recommendation). The Calabrese was incredible from start to finish. I’ve never had a better dough in my life. 10/10. Gustapizza very underwhelming. For that being what was recommended, kinda crazy. 6/10. The reason for the three stars is just the inconvenience of it all. Arrived at 6:40, sat at 7:10. Didn’t get served food til 7:50. Over an hour all-in just isn’t worth it for this experience. PRO TIP: order to go, the line moves wayyyyy faster. maybe if we would’ve done that, I could see it being four stars.

My friend promised me this would be the best pizza I ever ate and she was correct! We went twice on our trip. The line moved quickly and we were able to enjoy a beverage from GustaBar while we waited. The inside is very warm on a summer day so bring your fan if you plan to be there during that time. Otherwise the pizza was phenomenal.

We had an amazing dinner at La Ménagère — everything from start to finish was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is stunning, with a beautifully curated interior that blends elegance and creativity — we especially loved the charming flower shop inside, which added such a unique and romantic touch. Walking into your restaurant was like walking into an enchanted boutique store which served food and drinks and soothed the eyes with the colourful products...the decor was truly exquisite and the high ceilings and archways added so much history to the ambience...The hostess was extremely professional...the Limoncello Gin drink was absolutely fresh!!. Cute place but I don’t think the food is worth all the hype at all. Local guides were right. Try to get a sit near the piano as it has more natural light coming out of a dome. I had the pancakes with fruits. Make sure you order the syrup on the side coz it’s very sweet. The smoothie was not as tasty I wanted

The restaurant is absolutely stunning—so fancy and beautifully designed, with a great atmosphere that feels high-end but still welcoming. The food was delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back. It’s not just a place to eat, but also a lovely spot to socialize and gather with friends. You can even buy flowers or candles, or simply enjoy the live piano music, which adds a special touch. Highly recommend!

We came on a cool September night and sat outside while we enjoyed some cocktail. Cool jazz and r&b soul music. The vibe here is impeccable, from the decor to the music to the energy of the space. We ordered the Royal Garibaldi, and it was fresh, crisp, and so balanced. Definitely a step up from your usual spritz, it’s complex and bright, just like the atmosphere. If you’re in Florence and want to soak in an unforgettable evening with great drinks and even better vibes, this is the place. Can’t recommend it enough.

Enjoyed a fantastic veggie tasting menu dinner here - 5 courses for 80 euros. Enjoyed some bread and homemade butter to begin, with an espresso martini which was delicious. This place was fantastic value for money - each course was tasty and was very full on leaving!

This was the first gelato I had in Italy and it did not disappoint. I originally walked in to take a peak but once I saw the affordable prices I decided I must try! It was 3 euro for 2 scoops and a cone. I had the dark chocolate and berry. Elite combo. Was absolutely delicious. Creamy, sweet, & refreshing. They also have gluten free cones which I thought was amazing! My friend has mango and berry and she loved it.

Listen up, gelato lovers — Gelateria La Carraia isn’t just good, it’s “drop everything and move to Florence” good. The texture? Silky perfection. The flavors? A full-on Italian love affair in a cup. I’ve been to Florence multiple times and this gelato is hands down the best there is in Italy. I can’t find any that’s better. Getting some late at night and hanging out on the bridge is a great experience. The price is unbeatable too.

Hands down the best gelato we had in Florence (and we tried quite a few!). I ordered half mint and half cookies, and it was the perfect blend — creamy, balanced, and not overpowering. There’s something about their gelato that just stands out: perfectly smooth, the right touch of sweetness, and so full of flavor. The waffle cones are also delicious and make it even better. Whatever they’re doing here, it just works — every bite was amazing. If you’re in Florence, this spot is a must.

It’s been 15 years since I ate here and boy has it become more popular with tourists. This was a locals spot but has expanded its speed and efficiency . The chocolate mousse gelato was incredible. I let others try my cafe flavored one’s and they thought it was outstanding. Highly recommended. Don’t go to the tourist traps. Go to where the locals go.

Best gelato I’ve had in Florence! I’m not even exaggerating. It’s hard to find a gelato as good as this anywhere else. Don’t be intimidated by the long queue; the line moves very quickly and you’ll have your gelato in 10 minutes! I went back here multiple times. For this gelato, the extra calories are worth it!

Very good ice cream, probably the best in Florence! And not too busy in the morning. Very creamy and well made ice cream with lots of flavour. Not too sweet. Located right next to the bridge. If you can get a spot at a table outside, you have a nice view.

There’s a cover fee of €3 per person, and the caffe is on the pricier side. We were a party of 2. The breakfast was good. My pancakes came covered with melted cheese, which I found to be very different, but I enjoyed them. My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict as well. The ambience was great. Tommaso was our waiter and he was good.

I rarely visit the same place twice when travelling — yet in just 2.5 days, we found ourselves at Gilli not once, not twice, but five times! That says it all. We first stopped in for breakfast at the bar and were served by Antonio, who delivered not only delicious coffee but truly outstanding service. Despite the rush of a busy morning, he took the time to chat with us, introduced us to “El Padre,” and even surprised us with a little chocolate treat. His warmth and professionalism made us feel right at home, so we returned that very afternoon for more coffee — and once again, Antonio was just as attentive and friendly. An absolute star! Later that night, we came back for cocktails. Juan Carlos greeted us with the same level of hospitality — engaging conversation, fantastic drink recommendations, and what was genuinely the best Espresso Martini I’ve ever had. Of course, we couldn’t resist returning the next day for breakfast, pastries, and a final coffee before leaving Florence — we kept finding excuses to come back! I cannot recommend Gilli highly enough. Delicious food, fantastic coffee, excellent cocktails — but above all, the exceptional service from the team truly made our experience unforgettable. We will absolutely return the next time we’re in Florence! ✨🍸☕️

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We were a party of two and everything from start to finish was excellent. The food was delicious, the place was spotless and the service was top-notch. A special shout-out to Noa and Carmelo, who were especially kind and attentive throughout our visit. To top it all off, we were surprised with free sweets at the end, which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended!

Caffe Gilli was on my list before my arrival. I wanted a place with nice view and a bit of Parisian chic and it's the closest to that. I arrived by 9 AM and enjoyed their breakfast. They have good options from eggs to pastry and really good coffee. It was not too crowded and I was lucky to sit near the piazza, it got lore crowded afterwards. The service was nice and pleasant.

Perfect place to stop by. Recommend sitting next to window, so you can feel the atmosphere of piazza and enjoy food and coffee at the same time. Server Alessio welcomed and made us comfortable during stay. He was such a nice person.

This place welcome me like it I was home! Everything about this place was great. The servers, food, wine, coffee, atmosphere and the location make it the perfect place to sit down, relax, take in the view of the Plaza and get lost in the sounds of the city. I met a few great staff that made me feel like family. Santi and tomas were some of them. Very friendly, joyous, fun and kind. I'm here for two weeks and this is definitely a place I will always remember and if I ever get the chance to come back I will for sure return to see my new friends! Thank you Santi, Tomas and the rest of the staff there!

We had an unforgettable experience at Gilli Firenze dal 1733. The atmosphere is classic and full of Florentine charm, and every dish, from the fresh pastries to the beautifully plated mains, was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. What truly made our visit special was the service from Alessio and Virginia. They were both incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome!

Visited in March 2013 - I slipped in at the very tail end of Sunday lunch, a lucky seat on a coffee table in the corner while families lingered over their courses. The room buzzed with three generations sharing the ceremony of weekend dining - a joy to watch as much as to join. I went straight for their signature raviolini with pecorino and pear, a dish flagged in Frommers and Lonely Planet. It was almost perfect: pasta delicate, pear subtle, pecorino seasoning just shy of brilliance (9.5/10). Lamb chops with artichokes and rocket brought good quality meat and crisp coating, though it wanted more seasoning; the artichokes were spot-on (8/10). Dessert was Laura’s recommendation - raspberry cheesecake, creamy yet sharp, crumb with a hint of savoury, a lovely close with espresso (8.5/10). Coquinarius hits that balance of stylish but relaxed, where you can watch the rhythm of Florentine family life unfold around the food.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So glad we found this place during our Florence stay! The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. The pear ravioli was as delicious, and unique. The filletto was the best steak I ate while in Florence, and the seasonal mushrooms were a solid add-on.

I wasn't very impressed by this place, it's definitely very geared towards tourists. It was a recommended restaurant, but I found it to be lacking. The menu was limited the food was mediocre. The food felt very heavy in my stomach even the next day and I did not enjoy it. It seems the owner does not like when people leave honest reviews, even questioning whether people actually ate there or not, but I can assure you that I did eat there and you probably shouldn't.

We came to here for dinner. The atmosphere was great 👍 The swordfish carpaccio, paired with salad greens, fresh fennel, and pink grapefruit, was exquisite — the peppercorns added a delightful burst of flavor with each bite. The main course, Millefoglie di Cecina, a refined tower of codfish layered with chickpeas, spinach, and a velvety purple cabbage purée, proved to be another remarkable surprise The beef tenderloin, paired with foie gras, created a perfect harmony of flavors on the palate

While everything here was good, the pistachio ravioli was the strong standout dish for me. Great service too, and a charming interior

We stopped into this location of Venchi after having dinner nearby. This location wasn’t nearly as bust as the Ponte Vecchio location, but the selection was the same. Service was decent and so was the sorbetto. Over all, nice place to stop for gelato and sorbet!

Some of the best gelato we’ve had on this trip to Italy. The staff was so friendly despite long queues and challenging customers. The gianduia flavour was our favourite.

Tiniest 2 scoops of gelato ever. The second scoop was barely a smudge on top of the first. Edit to add: I’ve been to multiple Venchi outlets. I know the usual serving size. This particular one was just tiny.

The classic crepe was amazing. Filled with dark chocolate and hazelnuts. The batter was perfectly cooked and didn’t break even with the hot chocolate being added to it. The chocolate chip gelato was amazing and so was the cone that came with it.

It was so beautiful the ice cream. The client attention was perfect with Pietro, Elise and Marceila. They even give us conversation about where we was from and we start speaking in French and Portuguese! Muito legal a gente. :)

The gelato is very tasty, but definetly overpriced. After comparing with my partners order, who got a medium cone, I could see that the medium size cone got way more gelato than the large one I ordered - which is a bit strange. Overall the gelato is very good and I would definitely go back.

Worth the wait! The affogatos are insanely delicious! We felt like we were walking into a tourist trap, but it absolutely delivered. We got both the vanilla and pistachio. If I could have eaten 10 I would have.

Was in Florence for 1 day and this spot was all over social media so I decided to give it a try. And it completely lived up to the hype. I would come back to Florence just for the pistachio affogato. Lines were out the door all the time. Went in the AM. And line was probably 15 mins. Workers were nice. And there was seating inside as well. As well you will see tons of people chilling near by with their affogato. Highly highly recommend. I’m not usually an espresso person but my god. This was delicious. Note if you are planning to go in the evening, there is separate line just for their affogatos. I still salivate thinking about this. Can’t wait to try again. Hopefully they expand to other locations

Vivoli is an amazing gelato spot! The gelato is incredibly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The flavors are classic but perfectly executed, and every bite is a delight. The shop is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect stop for a sweet treat. Definitely one of the best gelato experiences I’ve had.

Located in Florence. One of the iconic places based in Florence that you have to their affogato. We waited around 30 mins in line. Unfortunately their secret window was closed (Instagram aesthetic to give you affogato) Their affogato is really good, it’s around 9 euro person (yes pricey) but worth it. Recommended.

The affogato was pretty good. We got there around 11am and waited in line about 15 minutes. My kiddos got gelato and they didn't really like it too much. It's very sweet but almost too sweet. This place was on my bucket list for Florence, but it's a one and done.

Vivoli serves incredibly delicious gelato — creamy, rich, and full of authentic flavor. The line can be quite long, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. The only downside is that the price feels a little bit on the high side, but overall, a great experience and definitely worth trying when you’re in Florence.

I love Brac! It is such a cute, relatively tucked away bookstore and cafe spot in Florence. They have great coffee and food options! I got a chocolate apricot cake the first time I went and it was very good. Additionally, there is a lot of seating inside which makes it a really nice place to sit and read or chat with a friend. There is also a little outdoor area with records you can look through. I highly recommend!

Awesome food. Came in a little late around 15:00 and the kitchen was closed but they asked me if I really wanted some veggie pasta. They made the most awesome fresh pasta I had in Florence !!. Also there was a birthday the same day and they so they also offered me a free slice of chocolate and apricot cake and that too was super delicious. The staff the food and the vibe of the place just made day :)

Marvellous food! I’ve visited seven years ago and it’s still as good as I remember. Out of the box and delicious food, yet earthy and without frills. I like that you can combine strong contrasting flavours on one plate. I also enjoyed the wine. The only thing that didn’t convince me was the cake I had, it simply lacked flavour. With more vegan dessert options (tiramisu, mousse or panna cotta), this place could be up there with my favourites. The atmosphere in the dining area is intimate and cosy. The front of the restaurant/café is embedded in a beautiful bookstore. I hope they stick around for longer!

Tried a couple of times to get in here and couldn't, so if you're passing by- do go in and book. We finally got in for a late lunch, and were so glad we did. We both had the primo unico- which is a plate of their salad, primo and secondi courses together. The salads were really tasty, especially the apple, cabbage and pomegranate one. The pastas too were superb, and especially the linguine were outstanding- this dish was so layered in spices and herbs it was really incredible. The star of it all may have been the seitan masala though- a brilliant, creamy sauce and really tasty seitan. The majority of the Al a carte menu is vegan, which only a couple of options that are veggie, so id highly highly recommend this place. It's a great place to sit in too. And lovely wine.

The food was delicious and the staff were so nice! We were one vegan, one vegetarian, and one carnivore. We all had a wonderful time The three-dish plates were 20€ each, with regular dishes being about 12-14€. Cake was 6€ and we shared it. We each got a glass of delicious wine for 7-8€ The products they use are very fresh, and the cooks were having so much fun in the kitchen. The whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely return there before leaving the city!

Food was really tasty, we had the pasta of the day and the masala seitan, the passion fruit coconut and peach cake was incredible too. Staff was super friendly and accommodating considering we didn't have a reservation. The only thing I would say is the portions are a little small and left feeling a little hungry. Would come again though!

At every stage of the experience was wonderful. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. We had lunch, grilled prawn salad and grilled octopus and it was delicious, filling yet light. The views are phenomenal from here. Must go if you stop by Florence

Truly a five star experience in Firenze (Florence). The ambiance is modern yet unobtrusive to the experience. The staff and service is beyond incredible and the sommelier had a truly in-depth knowledge of the wine cellar. The food was on par with any Michelin rated restaurant that I’ve ever been to.

Amazing views and great service but they really need to improve their mocktails list. A place charging this much for drinks should be able to make good non alcoholic drink. Especially since not drinking alcohol is on the rise. We ordered the spaghetti for €26 which was quite expensive but absolutely delicious. The breads provided were also really good. They only however had 3 non alcoholic drinks so the waitress recommended the wellspring which we ordered. That was honestly one of the grossest things we've ever tasted! We would have loved to go back for dinner but again I can't stress enough how gross that drink was. At €20 for non alcoholic drinks they should all be delicious! We still enjoyed our meal overall since the spaghetti was so good but please improve your mocktails for non drinkers!

Incredible rooftop bar in Florence. We walked in without a reservation, and were immediately seated at the absolute best corner table in the place. You have an amazing view of the river, bridges, and Florence skyline. Service was outstanding, the waitress always came over to check in and refill our wine glasses at just the right time. Drinks are a bit pricey as you would expect, but worth it for the incredible view, service, and ambience

Beautiful exuberant roof top bar with spectacular views across Florence, of the Duomo and other landmarks plus a glorious view along the length of River Arno. We enjoyed some great cocktails 🍹

The view from the terrace is superb over Florence, but, on the other hand, the service leaves much to be desired. I ordered 3 cocktails, and in the end, on the bill, they charged me for 4. Luckily, I was inspired to check, and I won't even mention that the order came half an hour after I reminded them of my order, which they had forgotten.

Gucci Osteria in Florence is a truly special experience. Even though it’s a luxury, brand-name restaurant connected to the Gucci boutique, it’s much more than just a tourist spot. The food is absolutely delicious — some dishes are so good you’ll want to order them twice! What’s even more surprising for such a high-end place is how friendly and helpful the staff are. They go out of their way to make your visit perfect and will happily help with anything you need. If you’re in Florence, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s not just about the name — it’s about amazing food and warm service in a beautiful setting. Plus, it’s right inside the same building as the Gucci store, which adds to the experience Def try coffee soup )

For the price, everything was just sort of good enough. The tortellini needed more salt, the waiter should have explained that a prosciutto starter was more for sharing than for one person to have as a course, and the service forgot us at the end. The food was beautiful and the space was lovely but a bit cold.

I absolutely loved and enjoyed this place by both my eyes and mouth. Amazing quality of dishes. It is of course not just about the foods but the way I was treated by the servers. They were so kind to me explaining every single dishes and asked my preferences as well. I would definitely love to visit here again!

The Gucci Osteria was just awful. The “seafood salad” was a grey mouse in a black tart under greens that was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. It was as if they blended a bunch of raw seafood together and plopped it into a tart. There were slimy pieces of seafood floating in the grey goo. The second pasta was nothing special and served cold. The “extras” were fine but overall I would have been happier at any other restaurant in Florence. For the price and time it was a huge disappointment. I’m giving a bad rating for service because it was very clear that we did not like the grey mush and the server just left it in front of us for 20 minutes. Do yourself a favor and skip this.

First time in a Michelin star restaurant DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Celebrated my fortieth birthday by treating myself to the tasting menu and had the four most exquisite hours of my life in the process! Amazing service! Incredible food! The perfect evening! Thank you!

As a lifelong foodie who has eaten my way through Michelin-starred temples and hole-in-the-wall gems, I can say without hesitation that La Leggenda dei Frati is one of the most memorable dining experiences I have ever had. The setting alone is breathtaking: Villa Bardini sits high above Florence, with gardens that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a dream. But it is what happens at the table that truly defines this restaurant. I chose the nine-course tasting menu, and from the very first bite, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. Each course was a story in itself, balancing artistry, innovation, and deep respect for Tuscan tradition. The pacing was flawless, the flavors precise, and the plating so beautiful it felt almost criminal to disturb it. Standout dishes included a course that reimagined seasonal vegetables as if they were jewels on the plate, and a main that struck the perfect harmony between rustic soul and modern finesse. Desserts were whimsical yet elegant, a finale that left me smiling like a child. The wine pairings were masterful, elevating every course without overwhelming it. The sommelier’s knowledge and warmth made the experience all the more personal. And I must mention the staff: attentive without being intrusive, passionate without pretension. Outstanding food, fantastic service and a beautiful venue - we did the seven course tasting menu with wine pairing and the whole experience was incredible. The shrimp, the tagliolini, the risotto and the dessert are excellent. The sommelier was excellent and chose some delicious wines. The views from the terrace and the rooftop are stunning. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The food is every bit as special as the view and that’s saying a lot! The are twists and combinations in each course and they work! The coffee enhances the risotto, just as bbq sauce brings out the inherent sweetness in the carrots. My favorite dish was the beets, barely cooked, and shaped like a rose. I could have made a whole dinner out of that dish. The presentations are beautiful and the service impeccable. The chef greets each guest and somehow makes it all feel personal. This restaurant has all the mystique and beauty of Florence. Go!

I cannot, in good conscience, give this restaurant a good rating. This is the worst Michelin-star experience I’ve encountered; in fact, it’s the most disappointing meal of my entire trip to Italy. The presentation is beautiful, but the flavors missed the mark completely. The sweet shrimp dish is the only one I somewhat enjoyed, but it was merely scraps in the soup. It feels ridiculous to be served such a minimal portion for such an expensive meal. Can I please have a full shrimp? The tiny bits in there do not constitute a full serving. Then came the pasta, which was bland, and the stuffed pasta resembled mush—what was that? I completely lost it with the next dish: chicken liver. First off, another bread heavy dish after a few bread dishes already. The balancing and pace of this meal is completely off. Secondly, I usually relish, as I love pâté, foie gras, and similar delicacies. However, this dish tasted overwhelmingly bloody, making it inedible. The pigeon, which I am familiar with and grew up eating, also had an unpleasant taste, oozing with blood. I love a medium rare steak but this dish literally tasted like blood. At this point, I felt nauseated and decided to ask for the check before dessert. As for the bill, the waitress initially told us the drinks were complimentary, so we decided to give them a try. That turned out to be untrue. We were charged for everything, bringing our total to a staggering $450, which is excessively high, even by US standards. We left feeling robbed, and I even experienced stomach pain afterward. If you think you’ll enjoy a nice view during dinner, you are in for a disappointment. We were greeted with trees completely blocking the city skyline, only getting a glimpse of it after our meal. Additionally, I noticed there were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant on a Friday night, which was quite telling. I wish I could have my time and money back. This was for our wedding anniversary and truly completely ruined our day. It’s an incredibly disappointing experience, and I can’t help but feel frustrated thinking about it.

Good service but totally not worth the money for tasting menu. I was extremely disappointed by the low level of food execution and knowledge for such a cost of fine dining. The restaurant intends to brag about its Italian heritage but totally fail to highlight its Tuscany location. We got scampi with gold foil, mixing with suspicious sour soup and suspicious chickpea that totally does not match the taste and texture. We got a dessert that placed at the edge of the plate without any possible conversation to the center of the place. Right. The center of the place is empty. Without a trace of spread or any decoration. It is just a piece of tart at the edge. That is! Ghastly sense of beauty. We got waiters that have no idea where they source tomatoes and vegetables. All they know is that it is not from Tuscany. We got a caramel chicken liver mouse in the middle of the tasting menu. A totally sweet and pretended to be sweet-savory dish in the middle. That declares that your taste bud's malfunction. Not to mention the caramel taste is suspicious again. The very last dish is a pork steak that make you question your life. The fat was under-cooked, chewy and disgusting. Spring onion properly cook, but don't they know that the cooking also creates tons of slimy juice and thus inappropriate to serve as a whole piece for knife and fork. And all the decorated apple ingredients does not blend together with the rest of the dish. DO NOT TRY TASTING MENU here.

This restaurant, just located out of the center of Firenze, is very good. We took the Vegetarian menu with 2 additional dishes of fish and meat. The chef uses excellent regional ingredients, very well prepared. The location is nice and the personnel is professional. At the end of the dinner the chef will take you on the roof where you'll have a gorgeous view of the city!

Linden and his team were amazing! We really enjoyed the meal. Linden had a great wine recommendation. The staff were attentive and the food was stunning. Stopped in on our first night in Florence. The food was amazing, they ended up giving us two limoncello on the house. We got the truffle pasta and the pesto and burrata pasta. They speak English probably better than we do. Awesome!! We would go back anytime!

Linden was such an amazing server. He took care of us & made sure we were comfortable and always attended to. The food was absolutely amazing, some of the best we have had in Italy. Would absolutely recommend.

When I was in Florence, I stumbled upon this restaurant after spotting truffles on the menu!as a huge truffle fan I couldn’t resist. There were free tables so I didn’t have to wait. here’s what I ordered on pics below. I decided to try the Tuscan soup out of curiosity but honestly it wasn’t to my taste. The restaurant prepared it well, but it’s quite different from the soups we’re used to(yeah I kno that’s the idea)So, if you’re expecting a classic soup, I’d probably skip this one. No criticism of the restaurant though. it’s just not a dish I personally enjoyed. The tiramisu was rather good. not the best I’ve had in Italy but still very decent. The real star was the truffle pasta. It was absolutely outstanding. Sadly in Italy you sometimes come across pasta that’s a bit underwhelming and as someone who’s tried it in many cities across the country, I can say this place really knows how to do it properly. If you want to enjoy excellent truffle pasta, this is the place to come. On the downside, the toilets were disappointing. The room was tiny, with a baby changing table awkwardly blocking the way, so you had to squeeze past it to reach the loo. There was nowhere to put a bag, and the light kept switching off every few seconds, which was frankly ridiculous. I also felt the staff could have been a bit more attentive — I had to look for someone to continue my service. And the guy who served me didn’t speak English well…I know it’s not a must but it is a touristy area. When I asked a waiter what Italian beers they had hoping to try something local he replied, “We have Fanta,” which was baffling. I didn’t bother ordering a drink after that. despite these small issues I’d definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for the truffle pasta!it was worth the visit.

It’s a very nice and cozy place, and the waiter explained everything so well, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The steak was perfectly cooked — well-aged, tender, and full of flavor. If you love steak or want to experience authentic Tuscan flavors, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended for all steak lovers!

Mario was an excellent server! Very attentive and anticipating our table’s needs. We had an excellent mid afternoon lunch here and the food was amazing! We ordered four different meals and they were all wonderful!

Amazing experience. Francesco really made it for us: transparent yet friendly service. What can I say about the food… phenomenal!! The crostini, the bruschetta, the pasta & pizza were all amazing! The house beer and wine were WELL above the average. And the olive oil?!! SENSATIONAL! Highlights were the Tagliatelle Cinta, the focaccia pizza, and that olive oil!

One of the best Arancini I had in my life till now. The young lady behind the counter was so nice and kind. My only regret was not trying their cannoli. If you are going to see the David, make a stop here and trust me you will thank me.

Visited this place based on online recommendations, but I’d suggest skipping it. Surprisingly, there was no queue — which probably should’ve been a sign. The staff was rude. I tried the arancini ball: it was cold, tasted just okay, and cost €3.90. Definitely not worth the price or the stop.

We came for the cannoli, and the cannoli didn’t disappoint! It is filled fresh so the shell remains crunchy. It was a good, quick snack. The shop looked like they had some other yummy dishes as well. Very cute ambiance.

I wasn't hungry for a full meal so I decided to try the arancini as a quick snack before my scheduled tour. This shop was highly reviewed so I thought, perfect option. I ordered 1 spinach filled and a classic arancini which I was told was filled with eggplant. The spinach was by far my favorite and while they were still slightly warm, it would have been perfect had they come freshly made or toasted in the over for maximum crispiness. The second to my surprise, was filled with a type of fish, not eggplant. It was still tasty but not what I was expecting. Service was okay, but it was near the end of the day and their eagerness to welcome customers or address their questions felt lacking. Overall, I was happy that I stopped by and would recommend visiting this little shop.

The squid ink arancino was beautifully flavoured if somewhat high on salt. The cake too was delicious but a bit high on sugar. The pistachio and ricotta ice cream was simply excellent.

Best cannoli I have ever tried anywhere! The filling was amazing and we had to go back another day just to eat one more. The arancini is also one of the best I have ever eaten. We tried the ham and the eggplant one, and as a vegetarian who does not like eggplant, mine was so so good!! I have already recommended this place to so many friends The only down side is that it is a small place, so arrive early if you want a table or you can order to go like many Italians do

I ate here standing up in the beautiful bar area, and if you do that it’s barely more expensive than any other bar in the city. I went for breakfast and liked it so much I returned for a light lunch! Eat the Italian way: small items, beautifully presented. Capuccino with a silver spoon, tramezzini on soft white bread. Fresh orange juice. A Coca Cola in a thick cut glass tumbler served over ice. The attention to detail was wonderful. Breakfast of a cappuccino, a honey croissant and a fresh juice was €8.10!

We have found this place on our first day in Florence, and kept returning on other days too, it was ideal to take a break😅 the pastries are delicious, and eating them inside, standing near a table are around 3€, eating them outside at the terace doubles the price. The coffee was also good☕️ With ordering drinks, beer and nonalcoholic cocktail, they served us free snacks.

Honestly no idea why this place only has 3.5 starts the tiramisu is delicious, staff patient and helpful, interior beautiful coffee amazing strawberry tart lovely americano portion generous. When you sit down outside in the Plaza items are expensive. Go inside and the prices are just like everywhere in Florence for coffee and pastries. I enjoyed my overpriced Limoncello spritz and free nibbles taking in the beautiful plaza. Went inside and had the best cannoli in my life. Not too rich, not too sour. The casing was perfect. The rumpope tasting eclair was phenomenal as well. I want to go back before on the way to the train station to have it again. Quick polite service.

Stylish Stop for a Drink with a View We stopped by for drinks rather than food and grabbed a spot in the very comfortable outdoor seating area overlooking the stunning Palazzo Vecchio. It was raining and the place was understandably in high demand, the staff were doing their absolute best to accommodate everyone with patience and professionalism. I had an espresso martini (€16) and a beer (€9.50)—a little steep, and sadly expected for the location. Service was great, and while we didn’t stay long, it was a lovely spot to pause, sip, and soak up the atmosphere of the square.

Great place to have breakfast and aperitivo as well!!! The service was extraordinary, the coffee by David was by far one of the best cappuccinos I’ve had my entire life and the pastries and cocktails were exquisite. Totally recommend this a beautiful spot in the center of Florence.

Poor service. Stale bread. Poor communication. We order a sandwich and we pay for that. When we asked for a table, they told us this price is not for a sitting table. How do I know?! You should ask you want to sit or not!!! It was rude. I don't care spending money. Of course, I came here to have nice time and spending money. When you serving people you should NOT just consider how much money you can earn per person! It's better to consider what kind of experience your customers will have!!

The classic montanarina…. wow. This review is dedicated to the most INCREDIBLE dish I ate during my entire trip touring Italy so far. An amazing starter that was a flavour bomb & beyond memorable! I ate 2 and honestly I wish I ordered 2 more instead of the pizza. (Nothing against the pizza it was also so good but this stole the spotlight) It was the star of the entire meal thats why I wont even be posting the pizza photos, people should come here just to try this fluffy fried dough heaven. It’s basically a savoury doughnut topped with the most perfect marinara sauce, basil pesto & salted ricotta cheese flakes. I will be dreaming of this when i’m back home truly. Highly HIGHLY recommended for anyone visiting Florence. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as it is a local favourite (and now I know why!)

This is my third time visiting this pizzeria in the past year, and I truly believe it’s probably the best pizzeria not only in Florence but also in the surrounding area. I don’t want to go into too much detail about the pizzas—you simply have to come and try them for yourself. The menu is minimal, without a hundred different dishes—they’re focused on pizza, and that’s it. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly. Reservations are a must.

Great service, authentic pizza they serve in their restaurant, nice ambience for family or for the any BD celebration gathering. They are very accommodative for any request. Pizza is fresh and ready to serve at your table. Food quality is great, many option for you to choose for. I would love to come back again. Highly recommend to all.

Perfect pizza. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect staff. A quick and efficient restaurant. When I arrived, the inside of the restaurant was full. We ordered a Quattro Formaggi and the famous Margherita with yellow tomatoes. The pizzas arrived in just 8 minutes, and both of them were delicious. The craft beer was really special. Besides, I tried the pistachio tiramisu — it was truly delicious.

Best pizza i ever ordered. The people who work here are the nicest persons you will meet in Firenze. Not expensive and absolutely the best experience. Tip: try the rooftop bar but don’t forget to reservate a table. It’s worth it!

They have so much chocolate here! There's no sitting area here, so take note that it's more of a grab and go location, whether packed chocolates or their hot chocolate in a cup. Unlike the more commercial Venchi or Stratti, this feels a little more nonna-style, more local. The location probably also gave it away that they're not as centrally located. Price points are reasonable, like everyone else. That said, it's one of those spots that in my humble opinion, is worth while dropping by if you're in the area, but not something that I'd intentionally go out of the way for.

This is a chocolate shop that sell chocolate bar, praline, gelato and hot chocolate too. I tried their pistachio, cioccolato fondente all’arancia(dark chocolate with orange), and cioccolato fondente gelato 🍨 My favourite is cioccolato fondente all’arancia 🍫🍊🫶🏻. I also bought their praline too (they have a lot of unique chocolate praline variants)that taste good 🤤

Compared to Da Nerbone, Lupen and Margo may be less famous; however, the taste of their Panino explains the reason for their high rating. The bread itself is tender enough to soak the juicy of the Lampredotto. The spicy sauce sparks a symphony on your taste buds but be careful as it is super hot. The shop owner is the cutest and hilarious person I ever met in Italy. She enjoys her job and is happy to bring up the best food for all visitors (she can even speak Chinese and Korean) .

Absolutely delicious lampreto ( beef brisket/ stomach) with spices and you can choose to have in sandwich too. Cheap at €5.50 for a generous portion. We came back 2x and could not get enough. Margo has been in business since 1986! She’s such a friendly gem Do come and experience it!

Must have at least 4 people so you can order one of everything. Start with the Lampredotto sandwich then order all the extras and add on. Drink with wine (cheaper than the sofas). Beatrice has been there 48 years. She’s the embodiment of an Italian’s love for food, wine, and friendship. It’s the most visceral experience of love experienced through my stomach.

The best lampredotto I've ever had!

Found it via a Mercato Centrale documentary, this was my introduction to Lampredotto (cow stomach). Ordered in bread with spicy paisley, the owner behind the counter was friendly and communicative. Supposedly a legendary spot in Florence, I was really happy with my Panino.

Melaleluca was on my list before my arrival in Florence. I managed to have breakfast on my last day and would definitely have chosen if I stayed longer. They start early in the morning, I was there around 8:30 AM and it was almost full, but you can also grab some breakfast pastry and coffee. I tried poached eggs on toast, cinnamon roll (one of the best) and cappuccino. They has good variety of pastry, also pumpkin spiced rolls. The service was very lovely and food was served really fast. Very nice place to enjoy your breakfast near Arno river.

We had breakfast here and it was absolutely magnificent. The staff was fantastic, and the service was super super quick. We had the BLT with a fried egg and it was out of this world, slightly spicy cooked at the right temperature on a fantastic warm bagel. My family had the avocado toast, and it was also very good. The bacon was super crispy. The place is very calm close to the center of Florence but right by the river without a lot of pedestrian traffic. The flat white with almond milk was excellent and vanilla latte with oat was also very good. They also offer watermelon juice and coconut water, which are served fresh and cold. Very few places offer this in Florence. Prices where good for the quality and freshness of the product This is a great healthy option to have brunch our breakfast in Florence. We would definitely come back to try the pastries as well.

Such a lovely cafe. Came for brunch each morning we stayed in Florence. Wait time was less than 5 minutes - you may have to wait longer in a bigger group, but the QR code makes queuing up easy! Coffee, matcha, food and service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Incredible service! Wonderful food. Best Matcha I’ve ever had (got it with their vanilla syrup). Our server cared about mine and my husband‘s allergies and made sure we were comfortable with what we ordered.

The hype is real! This is some of the most delicious food we’ve had on our trip. The meals feel familiar, but the flavors are distinctly unique. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu but I highly recommend the strawberry pancakes and the hasbrowns! Also the scrambled eggs are seasoned (which doesn’t seem like a huge deal, but for us it is). On top of that, the staff is really kind and inviting. We will be back for sure to try more of the menu.

We found this restaurant from a YouTube vlog on Florence. The restaurant is small but they make the space work. Of our 4 mornings in Florence, we ate here twice even though our hotel had a full breakfast included. The servers are friendly and organized even though the place is always busy! The food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend but be prepared to wait a bit for a table. Get the fried avocado tacos!

We’ve been in Italy for a week and finally found a proper breakfast place with eggs, bacon, etc. Very tasty brunch. Probably the best cinnamon roll we’ve had. Mimosas were refreshing. Service is fantastic. Highly recommend, would definitely go back.

A great little place on a street corner that had exactly what I have been searching for. I had heard of this local traditional cow stomach sandwich and was looking forward to trying it. The staff guided me in ordering and obtaining this delicacy. It was more delicious than I could have ever Imagined. The staff is kind, multilingual, and prompt to service.

The food is excellent , had a la pesa and pamnino con cotoletta Di pollo and was so good, we ordered a second sandwich straight after to have later , tomato is ripe and everything melted to perfection. Even just watching him make your meal is exciting as you eat on the side of the cart.

Really good sandwich - 5/5. Neeed something quick on way to station and in truth had intended to go to one of the more famous places. I did not have time and saw this - and am really glad I did! Really juicy porchetta with a soft roll - trick is to leave it a few minutes before eating so that the roll soaks up the fat. It is salty - which I like - but if that’s not your thing then maybe speak to him to mitigate. All I. All - excellent!

Excellent little sandwich shop near the train station. I had to get the famous lampredotto and I was not disappointed. I was a bit nervous to try it, but it was good! I choose the sandwich with the green sauce which added a lot of flavor. The cooks were very friendly and I will look forward to returning should we find the time while visiting here in Florence.

Was excited to try this place. I expected a bit of a wait, but was surprised to see a long line before the place opened. A local passing by even stopped to yell at people for doing so…oops That said, it was well worth it. The meal was simple, delicious, and fairly priced. I liked the straightforward menu with a few solid options. The pasta with pork ragù and roast beef were both excellent. Efficient service too!!

Best meal I had in Florence easily. This is truly authentic Tuscan food- very simple and unpretentious, but the ingredients are just that good that everything will blow your mind. All cooked perfectly and the staff were all great- not to mention it was super, mega cheap! €5.40 pasta and €6.80 roast beef. Definitely worth waiting in the queue, just make sure you get there early! No bookings here.

One of my favorite meals in Florence. Such an authentic restaurant. The lineup of people went around the block by the time we got there for opening but we didn’t wait too long for a table. Any wait time is worth it. So much food and such a reasonable cost. You have to eat here.

The restaurant has a warm, homely atmosphere, being family-run—with even the grandmothers helping out and providing such friendly service. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Outstanding experience!! Reservations are sometimes tough to get & worth the effort. I had the privilege of speaking to the owner before departure and found him extraordinarily humble & gracious. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with candlelit tables & fine linens. Decadent, high quality olive oil & balsamic was a treat for me personally! Our waiter was professional & went above and beyond. I cannot say enough about my meal! I ordered the filet prepared in a rich, thick balsamic glaze. The steak was at least 3” thick, a healthy 8-12oz & a perfect medium rare!! 👏 👏 La Giostra was my absolute favorite dining experience in Firenze!! Someday I’ll return to their beautiful city & will probably make a reservation here for each night of my visit. Thank you for a beautiful dining memory. We really had a wonderful time at your establishment!

It’s undeniably a gorgeous restaurant, but that’s about where the excitement ended for us. The wild boar sauce was dry, and extremely concentrated tomato flavor, the risotto was drenched, and the steak was covered in too much vinegar to taste anything. We felt so lucky to be seated so late into the night, but that feeling quickly left as we were rushed in every step of the dining process. Why make a table reservable if you can’t serve that late?

Exceptional Italian steakhouse. My wife was recommended this place by 2 separate people who’ve been to Florence before. The pear ravioli lives up to the hype and the steak was cooked excellently. Outstanding dining experience with good service. Highly suggest booking a reservation for lunch/dinner.

We were booked into the restaurant at 11pm since earlier reservations weren’t available by the time we came to book. We arrived and were told to wait until our table was ready. This was fine except you wait at the bar and we felt a bit obliged to get a drink while we waited there. The bar staff were knowledge, polite and friendly however. The restaurant is definitely pretty and the atmosphere is nice. We even got a board of starters to try on the house which was a nice gesture and the bruschetta was particularly nice and crispy. My partner ordered the filet which he said was really good. It would be far too rare for me but I know many people love it that way so that was excellent for him. I ordered the pear ravioli as I wanted to try something new and it really did feel like an experience. It was rich in every single way. The pear filling was sweet and creamy and the sauce on top was buttery and cheesy. As a main meal though I did struggle with it a bit as it was just so heavy in its richness. I actually only managed two and a bit before my stomach started doing flips and I couldn’t eat anymore. I think as a smaller starter I would recommend it but for me it’s a little sickly and didn’t feel I had a proper meal. I also felt almost a little nauseous after so I couldn’t get a dessert.

We spent over €200 for what was easily the worst meal we’ve had in Europe — and possibly ever. We had a 9:15 reservation and arrived at 9:00, but weren’t seated until 9:45. When we finally sat down, we were given “special appetizers just for us,” which turned out to be the same thing every table got — chicken liver pâté on stale bread that tasted fishy. It was genuinely inedible. The bread basket was also stale, so old and served without butter. We watched the table next to us ask several times before finally receiving some. My spritz was unbalanced, though my fiancé’s Negroni was fine. We ordered the famous pear ravioli and Florentine steak — both were massive disappointments. The steak was flavorful but so chewy it was nearly impossible to eat. The ravioli was bizarrely inconsistent: one piece was cloyingly sweet, the next completely bland. By the time the steak arrived, we were so disgusted we just wanted to leave. We asked for a box, never got it, and ultimately left the food behind because we couldn’t wait any longer. On the way out, we asked the bar to break a bill so we could leave a tip — only to be told they don’t carry cash? The only redeeming part of the evening was the owner, who was kind and welcoming as she greeted each table. Unfortunately, no amount of charm can make up for food and service this bad. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

5 stars 500 times over is what La Giostra deserves!!! Dining at La Giostra was nothing short of unforgettable. Dinner reservations were hard to find and we grabbed ourselves one for lunch. Absolutely loved the experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a world of warm hospitality, rich Tuscan ambiance, and food that speaks to the soul. We settled in and were served a platter ( on the house) that had richness, flavors and amazing taste written across the board. The house bread is amazing as well and has a very unique taste associated with it. Post that, we ordered ourselves the Pear Ravioli and Steamed Octopus carpaccio with boiled ( finely sliced potato) which were so delicious ( big quantity served as well).We took our time to enjoy each of these a morsel at a time and they were simply sumptuous. For our main course we ordered Grilled steak with garlic, olive oil and rosemary ( which I didn’t taste though got amazing reviews for it) and Baked Branzino with zucchini, tomatoes, olives and capers. The fish was cooked to perfection and the veggies added the much needed fiber alongside and as well were cooked to just the right degree. Loved the bites immensely and took our sweet time while we devoured through the meal :) After the check formalities were done and we were headed out, we ran into the man the legend, Soldano who happens to be the owner and runs a perfect culinary orchestra at La Giostra. Had a fun little conversation with him and definitely left with a lot of good feeling, vibes and felt that truly amazing customer care that they have built in the very fabric of La Giostra. It wouldn’t be remiss to say that his warmth and charisma are reflected in every detail of the experience. La Giostra isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a story, a tradition, a feeling. If you're in Florence, this is an absolute must. Thank you, Sandro and team , for making our lunch so memorable. This definitely has been a bright shining highlight of our trip!! Absolutely recommended!!

We heard about this from another group and they were right. Great food, atmosphere, and service. The blueberry sauce is good, can be a little sweet, but a wonderful steak. We went for the pasta sampler and if you do this you must come hungry! It was a lot of food. Reasonably priced too.

A friend who comes from Florence recommended this place, and this has got to be the best recommendation I've ever recieved. Of course, I tried the blueberry steak. It's unique and the name sounds fun, but the flavour is also excellent. Not too sweet, and somehow they've made it so that the blueberry sauce compliments the steak perfectly. I also tried the gnudi - a typical Tuscan first course - and it was just as good. Plus, the house wine is a perfect compliment to both. The atmosphere is very nice. Went for lunch, and was one of only three tables present. So, I don't know if it gets crowded for dinner, but I also know that my tour guide didn't have this place on the list he shared, so it might be under-the-radar from most tourists. Also, there was a TV monitor with a view of the kitchen, which was pretty cool to see. You can tell that the staff (very courteous) take a lot of pride in the food they serve. I would **highly** recommend this place to anyone in Florence. They also have a location in Annapolis, Maryland, USA, so I plan to visit it one day!

Babe, it slays. The meat carpaccio? Paper-thin perfection — delicate, decadent, and dangerously addictive. The meat pasta? Rich and sinful, like it knows it’s the star. And the truffle pasta? Please. We visited on a recommendation from family and were not disappointed! We had a fantastic meal. My started with a pasta sampler that we shared (all dishes were amazing) and then my wife and I each had the steak sampler. It was hard to decide which steak tasted better, the blueberry or the balsamic ... both were perfect and you wouldn't be disappointed with either ... so get both!!! Unfortunately we ate the steaks before grabbing a picture!

TLDR Good food, mediocre service. Would give them another chance to redeem themselves. We came on the recommendation of a friend who studied abroad here. She highly recommended the blueberry steak. Reservations Easy to make. I was able to make a same-day reservation on a weekday for dinner through their website about an hour and a half before our desired reservation time. It took about 20 minutes to receive confirmation of my reservation via email. Please note you do need show the email confirmation when you show up. When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was just about to open and there were 2 other parties already waiting outside. We probably waited 5 minutes total. We did have to show the email confirmation of our reservation. Service Service was initially good. Then, we discovered mid-meal when the manager was was taking away one of our plates that our second order (my order) of blueberry steak was never placed. We had ordered everything together with our server. By the time we learned that our second order of blueberry steak hadn’t been ordered initially, my boyfriend was almost finished with his. We later saw the manager talk to our server, presumably about the error in our order. We decided to go ahead and order it anyway. When the manager brought it out, he mumbled an apology to us. To make matters worse, my fork had been taken away so I couldn’t even eat my steak while it was hot from the kitchen. It took another 5 minutes to flag down staff to get a new fork (it was busy and the staff seemed to have tunnel vision). Sadly, by the time I got a fork, my steak was a bit too cooked than I wanted—more medium than medium rare—and also cool. I was actually really looking forward to trying this dish, and unfortunately, this whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. Truth be told, I expected a covert and genuine apology or possibly a small token gesture from the establishment. However, that was not the case. Food Overall, the food was good. My boyfriend loved the food (and had a great experience). My impression of the food would have been better had I actually been able to enjoy it simultaneously with my boyfriend! In my honest opinion, the blueberry steak reminded me of the flavor profile of sweet and sour pork. In terms of drinks, the strawberry wine was very dangerous—it tasted like strawberry soda and I couldn’t taste the alcohol at all! Ambience Plates on the walls decorated by lots of celebrities with appropriate mood lighting.

This was the best meal I’ve had In Florence and maybe even ever. 10/10. The blueberry steak was unreal and cooked perfectly we couldn’t stop talking about it. The pasta sampler is a MUST and all five were so good we even ordered another plate of the ravioli that was stuffed with spinach and cheese topped with pomegranate and Avacado. The desert sampler was amazing too. Super cute inside and nice unique booths. Staff was so nice too!! Definitely recommend a reservation because sometimes they may be too busy for a walk in!!

We came here for the blueberry steak from a friend’s recommendation who studied in Florence. I’ve never experienced anything like it, very unique. Yes, it is great. Highly recommend. My wife had the tortelli gigantic con ricotta, spinaci, avocado and she said it was fantastic, very flavorful. Service was pretty good, our server enjoyed and was playful with our baby which is always welcoming as parents. Would appreciate a little more communication when ordering(we forgot to order drinks initially) and paying the bill/leaving. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and would go back. Very nice establishment.

We are so happy that our class introduced us to Teatro del Sale & the Sant'Ambrogio neighborhood. As study abroad students, we were grateful to get an authentic Florence experience. Although we did not get the chance to see a live show, we were able to see the beautiful stage and interior, and enjoy some of the best food! We loved how passionate everyone was about their job and Florence in general. We can't wait to go back and catch a show!

Such a wonderful experience at Teatro del Sale! The food was amazing and a perfect way to try lots of different Italian dishes as a tourist. The whole dining experience felt like a show in itself, and the live performance after the meal made the evening even more special. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and we had a great time even though we don’t speak Italian. We shared a table with lovely people and learnt a little more about Italian culture. It really was an unforgettable evening. For reference, it’s about £65 per person for non-members (£50 for members), with wine charged separately. You definitely won’t leave hungry! Highly recommend.

Teatro del Sale is the real highlight of a class trip I took with ISI Florence. The vibe here was so unique—part restaurant, part cultural hub. We had a delicious appetizer platter with fresh homemade bread, accompanied by prosecco to toast to the experience. It was the perfect balance of food, community, and creativity all wrapped into one. You really feel like you're a part of something special. If you're looking to step away from the tourist crowds and dive into Florence’s authentic side, Sant’Ambrogio Neighborhood is where you’ll find it. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

I was proud to introduce Teatro del Sale in Florence to my international friends, having cherished its unique format years ago. Back then, it offered a vibrant experience: chefs cooking live, food roasting on the spit, the wood-fired oven in full use, and a generous tasting menu. Returning after five years, I was disappointed to find that much of that charm was gone. The food offering was minimal, the live cooking absent, and prices had increased significantly — around 40% more for the meal and 50% more for the membership. I felt sorry for my friends, as the experience fell far short of what I had enthusiastically described.

The Club has really changed over the years and I have been there 4 or 5 times. It used to offer wine in the waiting area without charge and breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet dinner has been most popular. The food is interesting and varied and they now only serve dinner a few nights per week. There are volunteer helpers. After dinner they used to push back tables and move chairs close. No longer. The show included 3 messily dressed and acting players. The music and singing was good but the male was acting stupid. We did not sit throught the entire performance. Disappointing evening. I will not return.

We were taken here with a group for a dinner and an Italian folk music (and dancing) show. The dinner experience was fantastic with a bell being rung for each couse followed by an announcement of what it entailed. Memberships and reservations are required for these special events, but totally worth it!

Teatro del sale is a culture institution in town and if you want to spend an incredible dinner with outstanding food and enjoy music or show this is the right place. Membership cost you only €15 and all you can eat food €35 excl drinks. It sounds expensive,but what you get in return is pure quality throughout. It was pne of the most amazing discovery in Florence!
