For whatever reason Google seems to want me to review the hotel instead of the restaurant. I did not stay the night, just dined, so that is what I'll review. It was all overall good, as one would expect, but I will briefly comment on some of the dishes. the first two starter courses were not very remarkable, subtle. it was not a very strong start. I was quite annoyed to be made to eat with my fingers items that were either stuck to the plate with sauce or dusted with paprica, my napkin suffered the consequences. I did not get any tuna in the Ventresca dish, the tomato gelatin was very water. I will note however that the banana half-rounds were overpowered by the mustard. It also affirmed my prejudice against partridge, the taste with the chocolate sauce was excellent but finding small bones was not, the consomé I could have lived without. I think that the absolute star of the night was the pork flan with caviar, a rich, delicious umami explosion, the "Careta" with crayfish in foie sauce was also excellent, as was the scallion juice dish and the squid ink bun. Those dishes really packed in all the flavor i felt was lacking in some of the others. The wine was excellent. Overall a great experience, the service was flawless, discreet and attentive. My qualms are that for the hefty price of the menu, I would have liked to get more flavor in the starting courses, plus not getting my hands dirty and finding bones. Otherwise excellent.

We stayed at Atrio Cáceres over the weekend. The staff were simply outstanding. Attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Cleanliness was also at a very high level. That said, the room felt rather basic for the price, and the air conditioning struggled with the heat, both in the room at night and in the public areas, which was uncomfortable. Breakfast, unfortunately, did not meet the standard one would expect from a luxury hotel. At the restaurant, service and wine selection were truly impressive, and the dishes were beautifully presented, but the flavors did not quite deliver the wow effect we had hoped for from a three-star Michelin experience. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but there is definitely room for improvement to make it truly unforgettable.

Pig is part of every dish, but I would say that only half of them were particularly pork-focused. The service is consistently exceptional, feeling almost choreographed. Thank you Jose y Pepe and all the staff for another unforgettable evening.

Tucked into the medieval walls of Caceres is this gem of a hotel. Loved it. The food was incredible and the hotels modern amenities made it super comfortable.

The complete restaurant staff are outstanding making us feel like we were having a family dinner. The food is indescribably delicious. The hotel is just perfect in every way. Lastly, Jose, the sommelier, served us an unforgettable wine. We did not do the pairing but heard from other guests the wines were just as amazing as the food. One more thing, breakfast is a continuation of the previous dinner, scrumptious and beautifully served. We leave with wonderful memories and a great taste in our mouth, literally!

We were looking forward to a visit to El Figon during our stay in Cáceres. Unfortunately, the restaurant was a big disappointment. We went on June 17th, the day after the restaurant reopened after about 2 week’s vacation. The food was average, but the service was horrible! Must go place in Cáceres! One of the best places I’ve eaten in Spain, exquisite traditional food and great service and ambience. It is also very nicely decorated and clean. The prices can be a little much if you are on a budget but they are generous with the portions and personally I found that 3 dishes can feed 4 people comfortably.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Spain, and that’s a high compliment. We had the tasting menu, only €33 each. Five courses and all delicious. Locally sourced. Everything was from Extremadura. Special mention of the pork with three different mustards, and the foie and beef carpaccio. Also, the owners Francisco and Ana are lovely people and serve you themselves and happily describe what you’re eating. One of our very best eating experiences ever in Spain.

Our 4th time for lunch in this small family run restaurant over the past 2 years. And every visit is an intense pleasure. Both Ana and Francisco, the chef, do everything to make the experience most enjoyable. The starters and main courses , the tasty amuse-bouches, and the deserts are always excellent, imaginative and beautifully presented. The 2 of them obviously prepare and serve the food, and talk to guests, as more of a ‘calling’ than purely as a business.

We drive 300km from Madrid to Caceres for Madruelo, it worths every effort to dine here! Superb experience for fine Spanish cuisine - Chef Fran Dominguez, a Michelin rated chef, is so humble and friendly, he introduces his ingredients and ways of cooking to us one by one and with great patience and passion. It literally was nothing alike a good one and somehow reminded me of the taste of sausages. This could be maybe due to the ice cubes being stored close to some meat?
