La Pentolaccia is a long-standing restaurant located in a 17th-century monastery, offering regional pasta, seafood, and desserts. The menu features an impressive variety of pasta dishes such as busiate with Trapanese pesto, hand-rolled tagliatelle with pistachio, and spaghetti allo sgombro (with mackerel). Additionally, the restaurant offers crispy baby squid and a uniquely Sicilian cheeseboard featuring thick ricotta dusted with pistachio.
Very nice place, simply amazing food. Service very friendly. I will come back.

We had dinner outside in the little street, which was a nice place to sit. Inside, the ground floor is also cosy to eat, but the first floor less so. I recommend experiencing the sunset first, and coming here at 8 PM afterwards. After 8, it gets very busy, so you will have to wait in line probably. In terms of food, I can really recommend the caponata, as well as the fish couscous and the involtini with swordfish. Flavours were outstanding! The service was a little bit less great. We had one friendly waiter, but the other ones were not so kind. Next to the unfriendliness, the service was particularly well organized or attentive either. We often had to wait quite a while for a waiter to come take our order. Furthermore, some dishes were even forgotten and we had to remind the staff that we actually ordered more food. Overall, a solid restaurant to visit when in Erice.
Vincent S — Google review
The busiate with red mullet ragu (red mullet/cherry tomatoes/garlic/ roasted almond) was excellent!
Darci W — Google review
Service is rough, always rushing which doesn't mean you get your food very fast. Food is underwhelming. Had some lamb for 18 eur and mixed grill for 18eur. Both seem kinda made in canteen quickly. Compared to other restaurants in sicily I wouldn't pay more than 8-10 eur for these plates. Bread is old and breaks your teeth. From the outside the restaurant looks nice.
Victor — Google review
highly recommend this spot. definitely the app plate and the pesto pasta are both highly recommended!
Kelsey H — Google review
The food was incredible, service as well. Definitely recommend climbing up!

We went here as tourists, but not felt like it while eating. The service was really friendly and quick; people provided great advices ! We ate at floor level, and it was beautifully decorated! Most importantly, the food was really good and we were really satisfied.
Enora R — Google review
Terrible service we were told to come in 20 minutes and we will be seated but we came back and waited extra 30 minutes for a table! We ordered wine and an appetiser and 2 pasta. They brought us the appetiser with no wine. We asked 3 waiters to bring it with no luck while they were bringing drinks to other tables that ordered coffee and other drinks. At last a waiter brought us the wine after we asked for the fourth time. The pasta also took long to come and it was mediocre.

Seafood restaurant
Ristorante Monte San Giuliano is a charming eatery located in the picturesque medieval town of Erice, perched atop Mount San Giuliano in Western Sicily. The restaurant offers rustic and regional dishes served in a historic space with three dining rooms and a summer terrace, providing visitors with an authentic taste of Sicilian cuisine.
This is a peach of a restaurant tucked away on a smaller street leading to the old market square. We, a party of five had a lingering lunch while resting our feet from a mornings worth of walking. The fish dishes were exceptionally good, particularly the cod and sea bass. We also enjoyed two pasta dishes, one with eggplant the other sausage. Table wine was very smooth and the bread was very fresh and crispy, reminding me of the Italian bread I enjoyed in my youth in CT. Service was excellent, English was no problem. Prices were very reasonable and noise level was relatively low. Get to the restaurant early, the kitchen opens at 12:30 and getting there before one is a good plan. By 1:30 the restaurant is full, at least on the Sunday we were there. Overall this is a recommended restaurant, getting four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale ( five stars on the Google scale).
Quahog — Google review
A good restaurant in a very touristy town. I noticed that many of the tour guides brought their groups here. I can understand why the food was quite good. Very enjoyable.

Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable about celiac and recommend substitutions. Gluten free pasta available too.

The food is incredible (best so far we had in Sicily, and the bar is very high) and the stuff friendly. The place is charming and warm. Highly recommended!

Had dinner here today! Food was fresh and tastes great :) Servers were nice, pleasant and professional. You need to locate the place properly, their entrance is not on the main street directly, so you need play a bit of seek and yah shall find.
Spark S — Google review
We ate here last night - treat yourself to a real find, hidden away in beautiful Erice. Location was magical, food was great and the waiters friendly and attentive. It’s worth it just for the entranceway, in through a wrought iron gate to a series of little stone courtyards and staircases and the sense of discovering something special. A beautiful spot.
Sara L — Google review
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC RESTAURANT!! Every bite and every drink we had at this restaurant was just amazing. Worth a Michelin star! Amazing fresh fish, with very original combinations of veg and fruits, served beautifully as a piece of art. Finally also fruity fresh delicious white house wine. Absolute fantastic!! And well worth the price. If you have any chance please try it!!
Didier D — Google review
The restaurant is located in the context of the village of Erice, which I recommend reaching by cable car, after purchasing tickets online, in order to skip the ever-present queue, especially in the summer. I strongly advise against reaching Erice by car. Once you reach the main street and have made the traditional stop at the Grammatico pastry shop, after passing it on the left, there are some stairs that lead down, at the end of which, moving to the left, you inevitably end up in the restaurant. The room is large and spacious and the staff, in addition to being efficient, is also very helpful. The dishes I tasted were well packaged, tasty. The service was fast. I also took a quarter of a liter of white wine and half a sparkling mineral water, and a flute of Donnafugata passito. This is a restaurant where you eat well and I recommend it if you go to Erice.

Takeout Restaurant
Sicilian restaurant
La Tonda Fritta is a popular snack shop near Porta Trapani in Sicily, known for its wide variety of arancini, or fried rice balls. With over 35 flavors including swordfish, smoked salmon, and curry fillings, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, it offers something for everyone. The shop allows customers to watch the cook prepare the arancini while they wait.
What exceptional people. I purchased 3 arancini for myself. Recommended to me by the amazing woman behind the counter. She also helped me learn about the craft beer. This is the best arancini I’ve had in Italy. Believe me, don’t miss it. There’s a great view at the top. With the top arancini. Everyone here is so nice and passionate.
Natalie — Google review
Some of the best arancini are available here and at very affordable prices. You won't find many places where you get to choose among 30 and more different flavours, some of them really sophisticated ones. The fact they cook your order on the spot guarantees your arancini will be top quality, with the most amazing crispy dough. We spent 15 EUR for 5 arancini, so this is a great option if you want to indulge yourself with a second round of sweet pastries from one of the amazing patisseries in Erice. You obviously will have to eat your order outside but you will find plenty of space nearby.
Eugenio S — Google review
Delicious Arancini and Friendly Service This spot is a must for arancini lovers! The staff were super friendly, and there are lots of flavors to choose from, all at very fair prices. Every arancina we tried was crispy on the outside and perfectly flavorful inside, truly some of the best we’ve had. Highly recommended for a quick, tasty bite!
Jonas G — Google review
Freshly made, the perfect arancino/a. Because it is freshly made you’ll have to wait a few minutes, but it is every minute worth. An excellent one is the burrata pistacchio one…! The aftertaste keeps lingering in your mouth after you’ve finished it.
Xueyan D — Google review
A variety of arancini to select from and they’re made fresh in front of you ! Very good and beautifully made Arancini highly recommended! It can be busy at lunch time and people are in the doorway waiting for their order to be called out , therefore it can be difficult to get into the shop or understand where is the queue to order your Arancini !
Marianna B — Google review
I’m not a big fan of arancini, but I decided to try them because of the huge crowd waiting. I waited 30 minutes for two, and I can’t say I enjoyed them — there was too much rice and the filling was poor.
Alexandros M — Google review
We weren't expecting much when we wandered in, especially with their billboard out front in English. But wow, these were the crispiest most delicious aranchini we've tasted since arriving in Trapani. Unmissable establishment. Go!

Caffè Pasticceria Michele is a charming spot in Erice, Sicily that offers delightful almond desserts and hot drinks at surprisingly affordable prices. Despite its touristy location, the quality of their food is commendable. Visitors can indulge in delectable arancina, with options like spinach and sausage that are freshly made and not greasy. The friendly and polite staff add to the pleasant experience, making it a recommended stop for anyone exploring Erice.
Wow the arancini here blew us away!! Definitely recommend, and the cannoli and other deserts are so good too. Really made our trip to Erice special 😍 and the prices were the best we found in the older part of the city.
Ashley — Google review
As someone who is gluten free, my options are often limited which I accept and this place was able to deliver some delicious desserts (some gluten free) for me & my partner (not gf) on a late Sunday afternoon when many of the restaurants were shut for the late afternoon period. I had a gluten free lemon Genovesi (pastry with cream lemon inside), pistachio granite - delicious natural fruit ice cream without the sugar, cannoli (gf version) plus ice coffee - that was lunch for me and felt stuffed after! Very nice indeed & the manager was very helpful! My partner had 2 spinach & sausage arancine (a warm breaded ball - a bit like a cheesy scotch egg without the egg) which he thoroughly enjoyed along with a pistachio granite and a strong black coffee (exactly as he likes it!) Service was very good too and we enjoyed sitting outside at their tiled tables on the quaint cobbled streets.

Caffè Pasticceria Michele in Erice is a true gem that embodies the essence of Sicilian hospitality and culinary excellence. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by the amazing energy of the lady at the till, whose warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for a delightful experience. The tavola calda is top quality. The Panini and focaccie are nothing short of excellent, bursting with flavor and made with the finest ingredients. The patisserie and pastries are equally impressive, showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of the talented bakers. Overall, Caffè Pasticceria Michele is a must-visit destination in Erice for anyone craving delicious food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

€2.50 all arancini. Best price i could find, and a table to sit at. The best singing staff in the town too haha
Dale D — Google review
Great spot in Erice to grab a quick lunch if you dont have time for a sit down. Menu was fantastic, packed with a lot of the Sicilian favorites. Wish we had room to try some sweets but we unfortunatley did not. We ordered slice of pizza which was a reheated slice of margaritta pizza along with a Pane e Panelle. Both the slice of pizza and Panelle were good but not great by any means but I am sure both would be great if they were fresh and not reheated. Overall we enjoyed our quick lunch but we have had much better food in our travels so far.
David G — Google review
One of the best cannoli in Sicily and I've went out of my way to try a lot of them. It is filled right there in front of you and is gorgeous. The pastry at the side has a creamy pistachio fill and is absolutely amazing.

Fantastic restaurant in Erice that I happen to bump into. Everything was absolutely fresh and quite delicious. It was quite a find. Recommended

This was a cute little place in Erice with really good service. Nice relaxed authentic setting. The staff didn’t speak English well (it’s Italy so totally fair!) but went above and beyond to help, which was greatly appreciated. The food was great but I would avoid the house wine. They noticed it was barely touched and (unprompted) didn’t charge, which was kind of them and reflects the great service. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town
Cc — Google review
We had some pasta and the sea couscous. It was delicious. The small terrace / patio was a nice place, away from the crowdy streets. The service was fast and efficient, however not the server was not the most joyful
Audrey V — Google review
This was definitely one of the best (if not the best) restaurants we ate at in Sicily. The black squid ink spaghetti was genious, as well as the grilled swordfish. The house wine is equally great and makes a great side to the food! The service was quick and polite, splitting the bill was not a problem at all. Thank you for a delightful experience.

Osteria di Venere is a charming restaurant located in the former church of Sant'Alberto, where old stone walls add to its traditional character. The menu features locally inspired dishes with a modern twist, such as caponata, antipasto rustico, creamy risottos, and seafood pastas. The desserts include almond and mandarin semifreddos and wine-poached pears coated in chocolate.
I think it was the best restaurant in Erice! Local Sicilian fresh food and vine, historical building, good staff! Amazing old town.
Yuliia S — Google review
So, if you have to pay €22 for five raw red prawns and 10 arugula leaves… that’s pretty cheeky. It's just a rip-off. The pasta dishes were okay, but they're okay everywhere else, too. The only thing I liked were the tablecloths.
Leon K — Google review
Very nice food, surprising how they serve it and with excellent taste. Very extensive wine list and definitely not over priced as some suggested earlier. Service is really fine. Not reason for any hesitation to go there!

This place was highly recommended by our host and did not disappoint. We came here twice during our stay. Food was delicious and the owner is a beautiful person who is passionate about his work. He was really the highlight for us. Wait staff made great recommendations. Come here for dinner when I’m Ericè.

Nestled in Erice’s medieval heart, Osteria di Venere is a charming, family-run gem steeped in Sicilian tradition. Set in a centuries-old stone building with terracotta floors, wooden beams, and frescoed walls, it offers an intimate ambiance and warm, attentive service . Menus showcase seasonal, locally sourced produce—think fresh pasta, smoked seafood, antipasti rustico, stuffed squid, tagliatelle alla Venere, and inventive fish dishes . Reviewers consistently praise the excellent food, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere, often recommending advance reservations
Dani B — Google review
Very tasty food. Very cosy atmosphere in the oldtown. Waiters are very friendly. They gave recommendations about food and drinks. They explained what are the local wines and what each type of grapes means. Very good place to taste fish dishes. We took fish with couscous and a swordfish. Perfect preparation. Sicilian cake was also very tasty. Waiters also gave recommendations about local places to visit and some advises. 10/10 in general!

Ristorante Caffé San Rocco is located in the Isidor Rabi Institute, which was previously the San Rocco Monastery. The restaurant offers a pleasant courtyard and attractive decor. While some visitors found the food to be average, others were impressed by the outstanding service and delicious meals. One guest particularly appreciated the attention to detail and recommended it for anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience with great hospitality.
Excellent lunch at San Rocco, we found it by accident and it turned out to be a great family meal. The pasta with pesto trapanese was the winner of the day. Service is attentive and polite and they even had a fire place going as it was a bit chilly outside. Will return for sure on my next visit!
Gonzalo — Google review
Our visit to Caffé San Rocco was an absolute highlight of our trip to Erice. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. But the real magic began with the food. Every dish was fresh, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Everything we tried was simply delicious and authentic of Sicilian cuisine. What made the experience truly unforgettable was the incredible staff. One staff member in particular (unfortunately I did not catch his name) truly made the experience so memorable, sharing experiences about his travels. They took the time to explain dishes and share stories about the region. If you're in Erice, Caffé San Rocco is an absolute must. We can't wait to return.

This charming little restaurant with outdoor tables on the street was our lunch spot during our visit to Erice, and it couldn’t have been lovelier. We tried the tuna with croquettes, seafood couscous, and octopus – everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Don’t hesitate to stop by and treat yourself to their delicious dishes!

The best Sicilian restaurant we've been at so far! The previous reviews hold all their promises - nice quiet location in the shade, attentive service and great food and wine. Can recommend the Fish Couscous, the pasta and the Sicilian potato salad. So good!

Staff is very kind, and service is fast. We had a very good meal at reasonable price. The meat and tiramisu was delicious

When it's delicious, why to try another place? It's happened with this restaurant. Food is perfectly cooked: I recommend the Parmigiana di melanzane and the local pasta (busiate), for example with burrata and mortadella 👌. Staff is professional. Restaurant is located in a small street (something quite normal in Erice), with tables outside and a nice inside.
Pierre — Google review
Came here for lunch as part of a group. The food was nice but noth special. The clam pasta was a bit disappointing with only 6 clams in the whole pasta dish and a bunch of empty shells. The bruchetta plate was nice. They serve fresh bread, however it would be nice to also be provided a plate, olive oil and balsamic when were given this so we could enjoy it a bit more, but it's okay, some places don't offer these extras with their bread. The courtyard is sweet and the restaurant decor looks nice. There is shade in the courtyard too. Nice town to visit if in Trapani. Wear suitable shoes as it's slippery on some of the paths and roads.

First night in Italy and I was hesitant for a tourist trap restaurant! We sat in a charming side street which was empty on arrival but soon filled up with guests (mostly italian) The service was perfect from start to finish-friendly & attentive. We ordered the house white for 5 euros per glass which was delicious! For food we ordered brushetta to share to start, and a pasta each. I ordered the busiati al pesto trapanese (11euros) and my friend ordered the busiati pistacchio e burrata (14 euros) we ended up sharing as both were absolutely delicious! Looking back on my trip to Sicily this was one of the most enjoyable meals. Affordable, authentic Sicillian food! Highly recommend!

Ristorante Pizzeria Ulisse is a charming spot that has been a beloved destination for many, especially during the summer months. Nestled within the Camere Di Ulisse, this restaurant offers a delightful array of Italian dishes and boasts a spacious terrace perfect for enjoying your meal al fresco. While some long-time patrons have noted that the quality has fluctuated over the years and prices have risen, there are still plenty of tasty options to savor.
We returned to this place after a few years, this time on a cloudy and slightly rainy day, it's worth it! Delicious Parmignana di Malanzane, cus cus di pesce and many more😋

I have been a summer regular at this restaurant for over 35 years. Compared to several years ago, the restaurant has lost some of its amazing quality. Over the last years, prices here have nearly doubled (a common trend in the area) and the service has got worse. However, this is still a decent option in terms of food quality. I had couscous and busiate alla Trapanese, which I recommend. Swordfish steak is also great. Pizza is ok but not the best. The restaurant atmosphere is also pretty good, especially the outdoor area located downstairs.
Eugenio S — Google review
Really bad pizza. The worst we had in Sicily and Italy. Also initially they do not give you pizza menu as the regular menu is overpriced. They also serve coffee in plastic cups (in Italy!). I do not recommend!

It’s a great restaurant with delicious food and waitress are very professional. We really enjoyed. Because it was little bit cold the personal gave us blankets. We highly recommend!

Great experience at Fontanarossa restaurant, fish is fresh and cooked very well! We had local white wine and was just awesome. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They have also pizzas and homemade pastas in the menus. The place is on the Erice Mountain so you can also get a beautiful panoramic view from the road. Highly recommended Masha&Carlo

I would recommend Pennette Rigate alla Norma. Canolis are also incredible, and the view is to die for. Excellent service to boot.

Nestled in the enchanting town of Scopello, Ulysses Rooms offers a delightful stone B&B experience that feels like a home away from home. With cozy accommodations featuring some rooms boasting terraces and stunning countryside views, guests can unwind in the serene courtyard. Just 1.2 km from Maria Santissima Assunta and near Porta Trapani, this charming spot is steeped in legend—it's said to be along Ulysses' route back to Ithaca!
Good breakfast service and friendly staff, location is very nice within the historical medieval town of Erice

Our stay in Ulysses room was an okay experience. They did what they could to help with our questions but the receptionist did not speak any English. The rooms were not the cleanest and the air conditioning didn’t work properly so it was some very hot days. Breakfast was in the cutest backyard/garden! Parking wasn’t available, even though it said the place had it. Go to the parking office and get a discounted ticket by showing your booking. Erice is worth visiting!!

We had a small two bed room without a window. The interior is old and worn out. The worst thing was the shared kitchen next door that is just boarded off behind a wooden door. This gave us very little feeling of privacy and we could smell and hear when other guests were cooling there, also early in the morning. The location is good and central though. The staff was friendly and if the weather is nice, the courtyard/terrace is really beautiful. Breakfast was ok but coffee definitely the worst I had during my stay in Sicily.

Sadly, although the great location and the village itself which was great, me and my partner found the room dirty, with the bed cover stained with white spots looking like mucous secretion, under the bed a layer of old dust and a melted candy in the drawer of one of the bedside tables. However, the most unpleasant experience was dealing with the ladies who served us the breakfast. On the first day they acted like they were unhappy to serve us, complaining in the kitchen about what we ordered, making my partner really uncomfortable about staying there. We thanked them every time they served us and they glanced at us without answering. We reported all this to the manager in the evening. The next morning we found a totally different atmosphere: the ladies were kind and pleasant, all smiles and keen to talk. Unfortunately, as soon as we left the breakfast area, I heard them talking behind our back complaining with other clients about us speaking another language and telling lies, such us we were arrogant and not grateful. They assumed we spoke in English between us to prevent them understanding us. At that point I went back to return the room key for the check out and I pointed to them that I regretted such unfair treatment and behaviour, underlining that what they did and said was not true and that their behaviour was highly unprofessional. We felt non welcomed and treated in an unacceptable way. They replied that they were not talking about us but instead complaining about another room. At such answer I said there was nothing else to add to our disappointment, and we left the premises.

Erice is so beautiful and here you're in lovely surroundings getting the feeling of medival Sicily. Friendly service giving more than we expected!

This place was magical. Cosy and clean rooms, beautiful Erice views. Fantastic staff that made us feel very at-home. Gives new meaning to “breakfast included”. Over three mornings, we ate: scrambled eggs, homemade caponata, meats, cheeses, fresh local pastries, fresh fruit, tomato salad, breads, endless coffees... My gluten-free girlfriend was well taken care of. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Maria!

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The room was functional and nice even if the shower was not so confortable and the same for the sanitary, because of the small space. The breakfast was very good, I like the croissants and the cappuccino and workers were extremely nice.
