Deli
La Sfincioneria is a Sicilian eatery known for its sfincione, a local version of pizza with a thicker, spongy base topped with tomatoes, onions, anchovies, and caciocavallo cheese. Visitors praise the quality of the bread and the crispy bottom. The friendly staff are eager to explain Sicilian cuisine and offer other specialties like arancine and porchetta sandwiches.
I was trying to find a place to taste this sfincione, a specialty in Sicily. I found this amazing place. I had a small discussion in Italian with what I think was the owner. Super smile and eager to explain me everything about the food in Sicily.

Really good and with the smile.

Wanted to have sfincione and this place hit the spot. You can taste the quality of the bread. The bottom is nicely crispy. Also had a sandwich with porchetta and caramelised onions. It was all honest food! The people working there were friendly and helpful.

Sicilian restaurant
Caponata Trattoria moderna siciliana is a restaurant that offers a taste of traditional Palermo cuisine. Located in the bustling areas of Caron and Vucciria, it stands out amidst the touristy dining options by serving authentic dishes made with environmentally friendly and quality ingredients. Caponata, a beloved Sicilian dish, takes center stage on the menu. This sweet and sour eggplant stew is a staple in Sicilian households, with each family having its own secret recipe.
Amazing food with a good price point. Staff were friendly and food arrived quickly. Not much wait if you come before 6pm then the restaurant starts to fill up quickly after. Great location easy to find.
JJ — Google review
Nice place featuring typical local dishes and great wine. AC is a nice treat for anyone looking for a cool place to eat and rest. Great service!
Luis ( — Google review
We went for dinner early at 6-8pm, the restaurant hasn’t started to get too busy yet, food arrived very quickly. Good food, good service, we were both full after main course and didn’t try dessert, but dessert looks good
余咩咩 — Google review
This restaurant is an excellent spot for lunch, offering a delightful array of authentic Sicilian products. Amin and Vincenzo provided outstanding service, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking great Sicilian cuisine.
Ruben M — Google review
The atmosphere is really nice even tho the music doesn’t match with the restaurant: too commercial and little loud. The food compared to the price is very nice and the service is really professional. Overall for the time spent there, I’m satisfied and one of the best in the city ! Really recommend. A little more expensive than usual but really decent.
Corentin B — Google review
A perfect place to spend time with your loved ones! The pizza and pasta were amazing, especially the shrimp pasta topped with shrimp tartare and the eggplant pasta loaded with cheese. Nicolo and Hamim, our waiters, deserve extra tips and appreciation for their impeccable service. Thank you! Grazie mille.
Gabrielė F — Google review
Good pizza place in the Palermo city center. We had two pizzas, both were pretty good and you won’t make mistake with any I think. Not the best pizza I had, but very good. The service could be better, didn’t seem to be friendly, they weren’t too bad either, just a bit annoyed. Drinks are pretty expensive for this kind of place, they didn’t have any draft beer (there was some on the menu, but they were out of it). They only offered bottled beer 0,33 lit. for 6 euros, which you can get for 1,50 in supermarket. I understand this is restaurant and I’m happy to pay for draft beer, but the price for bottled beer is unjustifiably high. Possible to pay by card 💳

This was insanely fabulous pizza, Mediterranean style all the way, just out of this world delicious. Surprising ingredients make for a memorable pie. Staff very efficient and helpful. Not usually a pizza person, but this was sensational.

Cannoli is a must-try when visiting Sicily, as it is the iconic sweet symbol of the region. These delectable pastries consist of a crispy tube filled with a creamy ricotta cheese-based filling, sometimes flavored with pistachio or blood orange. When in Palermo, visitors can indulge in local flavors by sampling cannoli from various restaurants, street vendors, and peddlers in the historical center.
So glad we stumbled upon this on the main walking street! It was our first cannoli of the trip and many more to come. The size is generous but not sickening because the ricotta cream is delicious and not too sweet! The hazelnut ricotta cheese cream was addictive and the large size is only 3 euros! Worth a stop
Karen T — Google review
Oh my god, this cannoli place is a must try. There are five different filling and topping options and they fill them freshly upon order. I had a small one orange ricotta filling with pistachios and orange topping, and it was heavenly. My friends were super happy with what they ordered. They also serve granite and ice creams. I’m definitely going back today to try other options.
HJLee — Google review
The gluten free cannoli are what I was hoping for and they are delicious. The service is nice too. I’m putting one star as the gluten free went from 3.80 to 4.50€ in a week! 20% inflation for us gluten free people. So I put one star hoping the owner will revise this price policy .
Laurent L — Google review
Probably the best cannoli we had during our trip! Fresh, crispy, and very sweet. Definitely recommend sharing one portion between two people if you don’t want to go into a sugar coma 🙂 Highly recommended!
Mateusz T — Google review
THE BEST place to get a dessert in Palermo! when we first tried the cannolo on our week-long trip, we then visited it every single day. the brioches are always fresh, granita sweet and refreshing and the cannolo was the best we had! super kind staff! very generous portions, well worth the price. must visit if you have a sweet tooth
Wojciech G — Google review
Best Cannoli I have ever tried. This is probably one of the best places in Sicily to try cannoli and if you come to Palermo you must stop by. The shell is crunchy but not too hard, just perfect, and they have different fillings to choose from and toppings to add on the sides. The fillings are also spot on, creamy but not overly sweet, just perfect. I tried the classic, pistachio, and hazelnut. I could not fault any! Also, a very good touch, if you are allergic to nuts, they will prepare yours at the back to avoid any potential cross contamination.
Fernando B — Google review
THE BEST CANNOLI I EVER ATE! I ate Cannolis at multiple cities in Italy , But Cannoli and Company are the winners! Uffff! A must try if you’re in Palermo. Their pistachio cannoli was out of the world!
Shreyaa S — Google review
classic cannoli was good choice. cannoli filled in front of you, mine was with ricotta cheese and I chose pistachio topping and sugar powder. I had cannoli before and this one was really good. Came on Monday before closing, so there was no queue. 3,20€ was the size I chose, there are bigger or smaller, with chocolate glaze or classic.

When you think of Sicilian cuisine, the "Cassata del Barone" stands out as a true emblem of indulgence and flavor. This delightful dessert, with its roots tracing back to Arabic and Latin influences, is a vibrant representation of abundance in both color and taste. The preparation is intricate, showcasing an array of fresh ingredients that come together harmoniously.
(Translated by Google) Entering this pastry shop makes you understand that you are in the right place, the scent and colors of the cassatas, but above all the smile of the two boys who work makes everything more special. Kind, thoughtful and always ready to advise you, they immediately point out that you can see that they love what they do. The real jewel of their counter is certainly the cassata, offered in different forms, by the glass or classic, it is clear that behind every cassata there is study, passion and a lot of love. A pastry shop like this is not easy to find!!!! super recommended!!!! (Original) Entrare all’interno di questa pasticceria ti fa capire che sei nel posto giusto, il profumo e i colori delle cassate, ma soprattutto il sorriso dei due ragazzi che lavorano rende tutto più speciale. We were traveling from the United States and found this cafe on our first day in Palermo. We were warmly welcomed by Salvatore. Not only did he serve us, but he also helped us arrange a taxi to our Airbnb. This was our very first experience in Palermo, and it was Salvatore himself who welcomed us into his cafe. Absolutely recommended: 10 out of 10! (Original) Il caffè è stato fantastico, il servizio eccellente e soprattutto si tratta di un’attività a conduzione familiare. Pasticceria Cappello is a renowned pastry shop located in the historic city center of Palermo. Originally opened as a dairy in the 1940s, it has evolved into a famous pastry shop known for its delectable creations.
This place was very busy on Christmas and for a reason, I saw so many beautiful pastry platters arranged in front of my eyes each more enticing than the other. Draw a number at the entrance and wait for your turn, order, pay at the cashier and pick up your carefully packed sweets. Sfogliata with ricotta was my favourite, super crispy layers and balanced ricotta cream. The pistachio petit fours was also amazing. House chocolate bars with pistachio and other nuts or dried fruit also available at the cashier desk.

Delicious pastries! The tiny gelato sandwich and delizia pistachio cake were so tasty. And the cannolicchio was perfect! Great coffee too.
Julia W — Google review
After trying many cannolis in Palermo, I can confidently say this was by far the best. In addition to their amazing cannolis, we sampled a variety of mignons and an iris — and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was wonderful too, filled with local workers grabbing a quick bite and kids returning from school, which made it feel genuinely authentic. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We had food elsewhere in Palermo that was half as good for twice the price. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting — I honestly wish I could eat here every day.
Lovrog0 — Google review
While the cakes themselves were nice, the man who served us was rude. Obnoxious clearly into his phone more than serving us and being somewhat stuck up with my friend's best attempt to speak Italian seemingly consistently misunderstanding which cake she wanted, one or two pieces of. He then proceeded to play with his phone as he was half wrapping our package and generally seemed just annoyed at our existence. The taste of cakes was definitely not worth the attitude that we were given in this place

Pasticceria Cappello is truly the best sweet shop in Palermo. The quality of their baked goods is outstanding, and I absolutely love it. Every time I stay in Palermo, this place makes me fall in love with the city even more. I ended up going there every day to enjoy their delicious cakes and pastries. Highly recommended!

Local cafe/pastry shop. Came here to check if it’s actually the best cannoli in Palermo. Maybe in Palermo it may be the best but i’ve had better. Everyone may like their cannolis in many ways. Their cannoli was different. Did taste authentic. Coffee was good. Service was good, staff were friendly. The best part is this shop is local so the prices are not that expensive. 1 cannoli & a coffee for 2.5 euro! They have alot of variety I would visit again! Highly recommend.

Antonello Street Food - Specialità Arancine is a must-visit spot in Palermo for those craving the iconic Sicilian dish, arancine. These delectable savory rice balls come with various fillings such as meat, sauce, and cheese, offering a creamy and risotto-like texture. Whether baked or fried, these treats are stacked high in local bakeries across town.
In my opinion the best Arancini in Palermo. It's just a small cart but freshly made, lots of filling and a delicate crust! Our experience with the vendor was warm, welcoming and incredibly, they are at a bargain price. We tried the classic, al ragu (lots of meat filling with peas and carrots). 10/10

Little stand But it's the Best aranchini so far! Way better than the popular aranchi shop in Cefalu. Friendly service. The owner doesn't speak much English But he has an English menu. Highly recommended. 2euro each only. Cheapest i have ever seen around. I think they only take cash.

To say that arancini are better than other bars is nothing... if you pass by there, try the difference ❤️❤️ you won't regret it 🥰😊
Enea G — Google review
Under the arch is a stand that sells perhaps the best arancini (arancine in Palermo dialect) that you will ever have! I have tasted many arancini and arancine in Catania and Palermo, and even famous shops like Ke Pelle cannot match the freshly fried and handmade arancine that the friendly stand owner Antonello makes. Even at this quality, the price is also incredibly reasonable at only 1.5€ whereas other places sell for double. If you seek real and excellent arancione, this stand is the place to go!

Restaurant
Trattoria Al Ferro di Cavallo is a charming, rustic restaurant located in the heart of the city. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists, offering classic Sicilian pasta and seafood dishes. The cozy interior and pretty terrace create a welcoming atmosphere for diners. The menu features traditional favorites like pasta alla norma and sarde e finocchietto, as well as specialties such as pasta with anchovies and sardine meatballs.
We decided to visit because of the great reviews here, TikTok and YouTube. The vibe is pleasant and it’s not as busy during lunch service. The prices are great with a bottle of house wine at 12€, and primi piatti (pasta) at 9€, plus a big bottle of water. Total we paid - 31€. Definitely worth a visit, and comparable to other restaurants in the area.

I chanced on this place, as was full of Italians so wanted to try it. Some vegan food on menu. I had a very nice caponata, aubergine and courgette salad and a lovely glass of fizz. €15 yummy. Outside or inside fab for people watching.

This our first food experience here in. It was recommended by our B&B owner for authentic Sicilian dish. I personally enjoyed the most the sardine balls with mint.

Excellent food, great ambiance, and outstanding service. While we waited for our table to be ready, we were offered a cup of wine. Truly a wonderful restaurant. You can also ask for a marker and leave a little message on the wall wherever you like. Only bad think is a bread, a bit hard, but that's not enough to ruin mine experience here. ✨

I always eat here whenever I return to Palermo. The polpette di sarde and involtini di carne are a must! The service is fast and the staff are friendly. A great atmosphere inside and out on the terrace. A must if you’re in Palermo and looking for an authentic Sicilian meal.

It’s a very cute restaurant and deco is very creative. The pasta was delicious. Disappointed on the services. They are not that friendly to people who can’t speak Italian. Go to get the food but not the services.

An interesting place. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. The music was very loud, and I really felt for the staff who were running around as if training for the next Olympics — that’s how busy it was. I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to miss this experience.

Nni Franco U Vastiddaru is a popular spot in Palermo known for its typical Sicilian street food. It's a favorite among locals, offering delicious sandwiches and other street eats at a late-night counter-serve. The place gained recognition when Forbes ranked Palermo as one of the top cities for street food. Visitors can expect to find signature panini like pani ca meusa and pani e panelle, both served in soft sesame seed buns.
Amazing arancini and sandwiches - you can sit at the restaurant there was quite a line there. If you line up for takeaway expect a hit of a queue, we got the arancini and I got a Pietro sandwich (meatballs and spicy sauce) - both were absolutely stunning and well priced. Service is a bit brusque but they will make sure your order is right and help, just they’re also prepping food for the restaurant so insanity busy. Absolutely must attend for takeaway in Palermo.

I noticed a long line forming so quickly joined in, not quite knowing what the attraction was. At the walk up window, you can order sandwiches like milza (spleen and lung) or fried street food like panelle (chickpea fritters). I got the caprese panino and it hit the spot. I loved watching the staff work together. It was like watching a real life episode of "The Bear". Highly recommend a stop here for when you need a bite. They seemed to also have tables where you can sit down but that service seemed a bit slower.

The food here is incredible, the best meal we had in Palermo. The calamari was flavorful and tender. The mixed seafood salad was delicious. Our waiter was patient and helpful.

Beautiful patio, prices are good and it’s about it for the pros They have a big beer menu but only have moretti. The chicken cutlets sandwich is the worst I’ve had. Their traditional pasta were good. Service is rude as expected. 1€ fee per Person to sit down. Keep walking

Tasty crocche and panelle. I'd wanted the aubergine but the guy understood vegan so felt safe eating a very tasty street food sarni. Minus points for serving god knows what dead animals.

This hamburger restaurant FUD is a great place to enjoy delicious panini and burgers in a relaxed atmosphere. The ingredients are sourced from local producers and the burgers are hearty, satisfying fare. There are also many vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, so everyone can find something they love.
Nice pizza & burger place with a strong Sicilian identity and excellent food. Very creative and interesting menu with something for everyone. A good variety of desserts as well. Very good prices and servings, too! Plenty of covered outdoor seating in a pleasant back piazza off the busy tourist streets. Excellent attentive and professional servers are there for you but don't hover. Excellent setting for families and groups. I highly recommend!

This place was recommended to us to try a Sicilian burger, after a quick Google review of previous feedback we thought we’d try it. Service was good, had a couple of Sicilian Mules to start with followed by our burgers. Wife had a chicken burger which she was very happy with, really enjoyed it. I had a Buffalo meat burger (with an egg of course 😉), the patty was great as was the filling but unfortunately the bun was over done, to the point it was tough and chewy, put a bit of a downer on the experience. Don’t let my bad bun put you off, I still recommend trying it out.

Are here twice on my visit. We chose to eat outside. Our server (wish I got his name) was really friendly and kind. I got the Italian burger without mayo. Really yummy. Ordered a side of fries to share (there were plenty) and tried their Fudcola which I enjoyed .

OMG! Definitely a place to go to when craving a great dinner in a cozy atmosphere. The burgers actually taste healthier here :) and the salads are so go that even when you are full, you cannot stop eating. The outdoor patio adds to the charm, and the service is so friendly that you'll be definitely back! We tried the onion potatoes, a Buffalo burger and a Tiuana salad accompanied by a glass of beer and prosecco. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get.

Super nice place in the middle of Palermo. There are many different options from burgers, panini, pizza etc. Very good quality meat. The star is cheesecake for sure so make some room to try it. We had delicious Buffalo Burger and pulled pork plate with slow cooked pork and apple slices and potato wedges. The fries are also great, specially once with bacon and cheese. They have also great beer and salad options. Also gluten-free dessert. Staff is very friendly and they also have little shop where you can buy some dips for cheese and meat and some pistachio and other creams. Super cool place to chill and have good food in Palermo. And once again the cheesecake is absolutely amazing.

Our favorite meal in Palermo! It’s. Family run restaurant with an unreal wine list & and even better menu! Come here for the best seafood dishes in Palermo. A truly enjoyable dining experience from Every perspective! Besides the menu selections there were a number of additional specials so we tasted several appetizers that were all scrumptious. We chose two pastas from the menu - a bucatini with sardines and spaghetti with cuttlefish and bottarga that were both delicious. We finished with the best cannoli either of us has ever had, a very generous serving to share. The wine selections are extensive and we asked for advice on a Sicilian wine to accompany our meal, and were thrilled with their recommendation. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and you need to book ahead, because it’s a popular establishment.

Best dinner I had in Palermo, hands down. The restaurant serves outstanding fresh seafood, deeply rooted in tradition yet approached with a contemporary twist. The whole experience felt vibrant and authentic. The waiters and sommeliers were a real highlight—kind, attentive, and embodying true Palermitan hospitality. The raw seafood appetizers and the cannolo were unforgettable. Absolutely recommended.

"I Segreti del Chiostro" is a hidden gem located within the Chiesa di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, paying homage to the age-old tradition of crafting pastries in convents. The shop offers an array of traditional Sicilian treats such as cassata, cannoli filled with fresh ricotta cream, almond and pistachio cookies, and intricately hand-painted marzipan fruits.
It was an experience that I definitely can’t forget during our vacation in Palermo. It is very difficult to easily find here for someone who doesn’t hear. You enter through the door of a monastery, the attendants guide you and then you find the place you want to reach thanks to the smell of the bakery. I ate the most beautiful cannoli I’ve ever tasted in a perfect courtyard. I don’t want to talk too much so that the beauty of this place is not spoiled, but on the other hand, I want everyone to experience it 🥹Definitely recommended. PS: It is very possible that there is a queue.
Ş T — Google review
After seeing this place online we had to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed! This cannoli is the BEST one I ever had that now I don’t want cannoli’s around where I live anymore lol. The line was about 15-20 min wait and like many say, you can share one because it’s so big. No place to really sit and eat at the garden because there’s lots of people doing the same thing. The system of lines is controlled and appreciated.
Krammer A — Google review
We joined the very long line at the famous I Segreti del Chiostro while in Palermo. This shop inside the Santa Caterina Monastery prepares pastries using ancient recipes passed down from the nuns. I tried the pistachio cannoli — crisp shell, creamy filling, and perfectly balanced sweetness, though for me it was massive (honestly, too big!). Staff were friendly and patient despite the line. Overall, a must-stop if you love authentic Sicilian pastries from an iconic institution. Saluti
Frank F — Google review
Probably was once only a local place, thanks to online reviews much busier. Waited almost 20 mins to order but it was worth it! Cannolo was HUGE and gratefully shared. I had to try the minne di virgini - very different with chocolate pieces inside and cloves and cinnamon flavors in a marzipan-like filling. We visited the church first and had a chance to see the monastery and climb to the rooftop, but this is not required to get to the dolceria.
Jessica R — Google review
Once you arrive at the entrance it’s a short walk up stairs and down the hallway. There was a line, it took 10-ish minutes and then you’re inside with your number. Once your number is called you quickly place your cannoli order and desserts. The process was too overwhelming for me personally but I think it’s a great place to try many Sicilian desserts for a fair price. The cannoli was too sweet for me, it’s also huge so I recommend splitting it between 2 people. The marzipan was really nice! The fountain area where one can sit was crowded. Overall a nice experience but one could also skip it if they’ve tried Sicilian desserts before
Nia M — Google review
If you want to eat at the “birthplace” of the cannoli, this is the place to come. Tasty desert, including cannoli’s and a lot of varieties of desserts. We went in off-season (middle of October) and there was a bit of queuing, but not terrible, 15-20 minutes of waiting. Queues are organized and it moves pretty fast. Also there is an interior garden to sit and enjoy the desert
Sanyes — Google review
Very unique location and ambiance. The cannolis here are big and well done but the filling is a little on the sweet side and not as delicate and creamy ricotta as those we had at top places in Catania. To us the Catania style was superior.
Michael S — Google review
Lovely cannolis. We grabbed one with pistachios and ate it in the small courtyard within the church. We waited in a line for around 5 minutes before a man at the door gave us a ticket with a number which the ladies call when it's your time to order. A very efficient system but make sure you know what you want to order quickly! €4 for the cannoli. You could definitely share with a friend! Would return.

Al Chioschetto Pani Ca' Meusa is a must-try specialty in Palermo, known for its iconic sandwich made with veal spleen and lung slices. This unique dish can also be enjoyed with caciocavallo or ricotta.
Amazing local spot with a medio sandwich for 3 euro that will fill you up
Rachel P — Google review
Having visited Sicily several times and growing up in a Sicilian household, I've tried countless pane panelle and pani c’a meusa, and this spot beats them all. The atmosphere is authentically local, with friendly people and fresh, hot food made to order. The panelle is perfectly crisp, not oily, and the meusa (or milza) is incredibly tender. The rich flavor of the meusa with caciocavallo cheese—a fantastic combination. The sandwiches come with lemon and salt, but extra lemons are on the counter if you like more. I highly recommend trying either sandwich and washing it down with a beer.

I'm writing this review in the name of my partner, who wanted to have a real local street food experience. :D This is a tiny place with some simple outdoor seating and everything is fast, the service, people eating and queuing up. Partner went for the 3 euros bun. He had no idea what was in it, he just wanted it as you could see school kids, men in suits and every kind of other locals getting their buns and enjoying it with a beer. My partner loved it, he couldn't tell what kind of meat was filled the bun with, but shoved it in his mouth very quickly :D

It was super fresh bread with really freshly fried products. I could feel that the oil they used for frying was super fresh as well. I liked my sandwich a lot but I feel a bit of need for some sauce to stick them all together but obviously that’s not a traditional Sicilian Panelle then :). The price was cheap. Just stop by and have some Sicilian fast food. The selection and the local is not as fancy as others on the main street but exactly that gives a more authentic vibe. Their list of Aramchini is short on the menu but they offer way more, you just have to ask them about the selection. The will definitely have some of the standard stuff. The queue is way shorter than the one on the main street 😉 until too many people reads and spread the word.

Nestled in the heart of Palermo, Osteria Mangia e Bevi is a charming trattoria that captures the essence of Sicilian cuisine. With its rustic stone walls and a delightful shabby chic ambiance, this eatery invites you to indulge in authentic dishes reminiscent of nonna's kitchen. The menu boasts an array of traditional favorites, including fried pasta with aubergines and a unique twist on Pasta alla Norma—spaghetti served directly from the pan with tomato sauce, eggplants, and cheese.
When locals tell you this restaurant is number one, you have to believe them. We have eaten here several times. They use the best and freshest ingredients and have prices similar to street food. A welcoming, clean and relaxed atmosphere. Don't hesitate to eat here and you will definitely be back. Ahhhh and the best Cannoli is here. Here some dishes.

Fabulous restaurant. Loved the ethos of menu (wish theyd left them on table for us to read fully after ordering)., quirky style of decor..food was delicious. Recommend booking or arriving before 7pm as at 730 we were unable to get a table inside.. was a bit chilly eating outside in February. (No patio heaters).

The food and prices at Osteria Mangia e Bevi were excellent! Much cheaper than a lot of the places in the surrounding areas of Palermo. The calamarti fritti was cooked perfectly and my wife said her soup was delicious. We got some of their house wine, which can be a gamble, and unfortunately this wine wasn’t good. But only a few bucks for half a liter! Overall good experience, we will return!
Erik V — Google review
On the menu you see an AI 'nonna'. And so artificial tastes the food. Nonna has left the building a long time ago, if she has ever been in this kitchen. The food looks nice but is made a long time beforehand, and reheated, so not thoroughly warm. The flavours are flat. And we should have known, when the menu contains photos of the food it's a tourist trap! The bread was nice and fresh. The waiters were nice, didn't had a lot to do and looked bored. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated and the terrace outside is nice if you have to wait for you Airbnb apartment. So grab a drink, don't order food sit and relax on the terrace and you'll be fine.

One of the worse "sicilian" restaurants I have been to. The fried calamri were bitter (I assume old frying oil?) and not crispy. The pasta norma was most boring, and their house specialty, the "fried pasta in a pan" was horribly burnt and was almost inedible. After asking the owner I got a reply that this is a Palermo specialty... Make your own decision if you want to try this... very... special dish

I was teaching a class in Palermo a week ago and brought a group to this restaurant as part of our welcome dinner for the experience. Several different people with different eating habits were accommodated for while we were treated to plate after plate of different appetizers and main courses– all beautifully laid out on the plates and served with care and intentionality. All of the servers were incredibly kind and friendly, helping us have a great experience. Many of the people were first time in Sicily, so they really got to understand the different kinds of flavors and preparations in this cuisine. They even brought us several different amaros to try at the end. It was truly spectacular - one of the best dining experiences I've had in Sicily. The chef came out and we chatted with him! What a nice man. I deeply recommend this place for excellent food and beautiful ambience.

The octopus had started to go bad; the whole dish was gritty, watery, and too fishy just like it had gone off. The eggplant was fine, some of it had a proper buttery texture, other parts were dry and rubbery however.

Trattoria Piccolo Napoli, a 70-year-old family-run restaurant in Palermo, is a favorite among locals and even made it to Anthony Bourdain's list of top Sicilian restaurants. The cozy trattoria offers a warm welcome and authentic Palermitano cuisine.
This is one of the best meals i had in Palermo!! I was lucky enough to get a solo table outside with nobody around and truly enjoyed my food and wine. Service is amazing, the staff is very helpful and even gave me some great suggestions for the night. 10/10 a must

It was probably very good once upon a time. I happened to see No Reservations in my Palermo research and the place was around the corner from where I’m staying… so curiosity took over. Unfortunately it was disappointing. Place was totally empty except for one table- who also saw the Anthony Bourdain episode. I was about to turn away, but the owner (must be) came outside and beckoned me in. I ordered the seafood pasta which LOOKED amazing, but the flavor was SO weird! Cilantro or mint? Very off-putting. And very salty. It was a big portion so I felt bad not eating most of it, but I couldn’t force it. Garlic bread was good though! And reasonable prices..!

A must if you are in Palermo. Best fresh fish dishes I ever had in my life and such an heartfelt environment I really want to comeback. Recommend hardly! You want be disappointed, my bet😁

The food was perfect, and the host was super friendly. There isn’t a single thing to complain about the spot, they’ve done everything well. It has a feel of being invited into a Sicilian house and being cooked for as a family.

Cozy trattoria, quiet on a Monday night, not very busy that day. We enjoyed the food, wine and service. The Caponata was the best I’ve tried in Sicilia. The mussels were perfect, the pasta was authentic Italian and the house wine was great. The fish of the day was the only disappointment, it is 70 Euros per Kg but in my opinion overpriced and it was “OK”, It is only baked fish without any side vegetables or carbs. Everything else was delicious and the staff friendly.

Grazie a Anthony Bourdain, I’ve discovered the best restaurant in Palermo. If you do a little research, you will understand why is worth going to the real centro storico. Very grateful for the experience as a whole (history, service, food and happiness)

This bistro was of course featured on an old episode of “No Reservations”, and it just happened to be open for lunch on Xmas day with a prix fixe menu. I was riding my bicycle around an empty, low season Palermo and stumbled upon it being open by chance. About a dozen locals with their families were already enjoying their holiday lunch together, replete with crying infants and double cheeked greeting kisses, all while Bowie's “Life on Mars” provided the ironic opening soundtrack to my seating. Then it started to arrive, ground tuna balls in tomato sauce, fresh oysters, shrimp ceviche, octopus tentacles stewed in vinaigrette, sea urchin and ricotta ravioli…and the food just kept coming…grilled swordfish & potatoes, the crab cakes infused with black currants were especially to die for…along with a douse of champagne and a local white wine to wash it all down, finally ending with a slice of lemon creme cake…little did I know I had signed up for the traditional Sicilian Christmas “Feast of the Seven Fishes”...

Visited this restaurant after seeing it on Anthony Bourdain’s, no reservations. We were not disappointed. The seafood was fresh, and the food tasty. A family run affair. Highly recommend a visit when in Palermo.

Bisso Bistrot is a charming restaurant and art space located in the former famous bookshop, Liberia Dante, right behind the Quattro Canti in Palermo. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with a Sicilian menu that includes pasta with cauliflower and swordfish rolls stuffed with raisins and anchovies. Despite its central location, Bisso Bistrot maintains an authentic ambiance and fair prices. The establishment also features creative cocktails and attentive staff.
Great food, reasonable price. I came around 16:30 and the staff told me the restaurant is closed but they can still provide certain dishes. I ordered a rice with chicken, an eggplant appetizer and a beer. The food is tasty and the total cost is 22 euro.

The aperol spritz’s were great, and pasta was delicious and well priced - especially the pasta with tuna ragout which was the dish of the day. The servers were all friendly. We went for dinner relatively earlier so it was a bit quieter than other restaurants on the street.

Staff is very friendly, helpful and speak good English. Food is overall really delicious. We especially recommend Panelle, Caponata di Melanzane and and pasta dish. Millefogue unfortunately wasn’t very good. We paid for 3 people 61eur.

Very nice, quiet bistro on the otherwise very crowded Via Maqueda, much appreciated by locals. Delicious espresso, very nice service. When I'm in Palermo again, I'll definitely be back!

Had an amazing dining experience at Bisso Bistrot! The vibe is awesome, with a cozy yet modern feel. It's in a perfect location too. The food, though, is the real star of the show. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor, but I have to highlight the basmati rice with fried chicken. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, making it the ideal accompaniment to the rest of the amazing menu. The quality of the food is well worth the price (it is very affordable too). Highly recommend!

Lovely place with good Sicilian food. The service is really good and fast. The menu offers a great variety of food so if you are a vegetarian or a meat eater you will find what you want. Quantities are good and meals tasty. If you're nearby give it a try

The waiting staff are the rudest I’ve ever encountered! Shouting at customers and generally rude. I almost felt sorry for them. Also the cocktail I was served was incorrectly made. I even checked on the Internet to see if the Palermo recipe was different. But no! They just held back on the more expensive ingredients. A very unpleasant experience.

Cute restaurant and very affordable prices. However, I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was a bit disappointed.. The service was ok, but way too fast. I ordered and not even 2 minutes after I got my food. Which made me wonder if the wanted me out of the restaurant super fast? You finish the starter and not even 2 minutes after you have your plate. It might be to get more tables during the night, but it makes the overall experience less enjoyable. Feels like were in the US, not Italy. The food was good, but the pasta was definitely too salty for me. Haven’t tried the desserts, but they looked good!

Sicilian restaurant
Buatta Cucina Popolana is a charming trattoria located in the heart of Palermo, near the bustling Vucciria market. Housed in a historic shop dating back to 1870, this restaurant offers a modern twist on traditional Sicilian dishes. The chef, Fabio Cardilio, focuses on using fresh and high-quality ingredients to create authentic flavors of Sicilian and Palermo cuisine.
Buatta Cucina Popolana offers a charming and authentic take on Sicilian cuisine in a lively, welcoming setting. The food is consistently well-prepared, with familiar classics elevated just enough to feel both traditional and fresh. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, striking a great balance between professionalism and warmth. Service feels relaxed but efficient, which adds to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with a great selection of local options to complement the menu. The atmosphere is vibrant, especially during dinner — buzzing with conversation, yet still comfortable. It’s a popular spot, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you’re planning to go in the evening.

I went with two friends, and we tried the tasting menu. Unfortunately, the food itself was underwhelming — the flavours felt unbalanced, and the sausages were so salty they were almost inedible. Overall, the food felt uninspired; we would have been better off picking something fresh from the farmers market. Service was attentive and friendly, definitely better than the food, and the ambience was fine but nothing remarkable. Regardless, the restaurant was busy and lively, with guests clearly having a good time
Dusko I — Google review
We booked a month in advance and had been looking forward to this dinner, as it was our honeymoon. At first, the restaurant seemed charming, and we were welcomed with a complimentary starter. But from there, things went downhill. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu. While the food was good—not amazing—it took an incredibly long time between courses. Even worse, the staff didn’t clear our table between dishes. By the time we were served the last course, there was still leftover snail shells from the first dish. To make matters worse, we found a hair in one of the dishes. We weren’t offered any compensation or even an apology, and we were still charged the full amount. Additionally, there was a large Italian group near us loudly singing all night, making the atmosphere feel more like a market than a fine dining experience. I couldn’t even hear my partner speak. For dessert, we were served homemade ice cream, which didn’t impress us at all. Overall, it was quite expensive. We came prepared to pay for a quality meal and experience, but sadly, this evening did not deliver on either.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Buatta Palermo! From the first moment, the hospitality and atmosphere felt truly special elegant yet warm, perfectly reflecting Sicilian charm. Every dish was full of character and flavor, beautifully presented and prepared with real care. The tasting plate and traditional pasta were exceptional, and the freshness of the seafood was remarkable. Service was professional yet friendly, making us feel completely at home. A genuine taste of Sicily authentic, soulful, and unforgettable. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Palermo!
Sam M — Google review
We had the tasting menu, majority of the dishes were seafood. It was good, some of these things I have tried for the first time ever. We went for a dinner and the place was packed, so staff was very busy and they forgot our drinks a couple of times. Worth trying, but probably not for a romantic dinner date.
Zofia L — Google review
A restaurant that should be removed from the Michelin guide. Nothing special but high prices. The usual flavors. Same as any other restaurant in the main street. So, no specific reason to go here and pay for more. Way overpriced for what is it. And some of the staff, particularly the main members, feel they are doing a favor to you instead of treating clients friendly. Skip this restaurant.
Pablo M — Google review
Worthy holder of a Michelin bib gourmand and hence a relief from the endless streets of indistinguishable tourist restaurants. Offers several distinctive Sicilian dishes. Cheaper then one might expect, given the Michelin review.
Lawrence K — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying the local sardines, but unfortunately they weren’t available that day. Still, everything else was absolutely perfect — we had the baked anelletti with beef ragù, Gigi’s pasta alla Norma, meatballs, and finished with a cannolo for dessert. The food was exceptional! The only hiccup was that we had a reservation for 12:00, but when we arrived, they asked us to wait 30 minutes due to a large delivery they were handling. Normally, that might be annoying — but in Sicily, it felt charmingly authentic. So we just went for an Aperol at the bar next door and enjoyed the moment.

Nestled in a charming alleyway just behind the stunning Norman Cathedral, Ristorante La Galleria is a delightful find for anyone exploring the historic streets of Palermo. This rustic trattoria offers an authentic taste of Sicilian cuisine, featuring delectable seafood pasta and hearty meat dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate.
I'm not sure what the slightly odd recent reviews are about, ignore them! I suspect these people prefer the more generic food of a fancy hotel to the traditional, delicious food, clearly cooked with love and attention, that we received at La Galleria. Hearty portions, great quality cooking and the friendliest of service is what you'll get at this restaurant. There isn't a dish we had that I wouldn't recommend to be honest. The fried cheese was tangy and salty and I wish I could eat some now. The sardine pasta was out of this world and don't get me started on the wine-list....so many local, well-priced bottles to choose from. My wine-loving husband was in heaven. The lady that served us was so warm and helpful. I'm afraid we didn't catch her name. In fact, we liked it so much, we visited again the next day and did it all over again. This is a must-visit restaurant when you're in Palermo. Until next time....

Fantastic food, incredible atmosphere. Steps away from a tourist hub without the tourist trap feel. My wife and I went back two nights in a row just for the authentic trattoria feel and great food. Carlos, Farad, and staff took great care of us! Highly recommend the Norma pasta!

Lovely atmosphere, wonderfully kind staff, and absolutely delicious food! This became our favourite restaurant in Palermo. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during our five-day stay. I highly recommend booking a table in advance, as it’s usually quite busy, especially at dinner.

Best food I had in Palermo and among the best in Sicily. The wait was a little long despite reservations but that’s because the place is so good. They do have a lot of seating if outdoor space is open, and ambience is excellent. Inside was really cool and rustic and outside in an amazing part of town with a lot of old world charm. All the locals said this was the best food in the city, and they were correct! Our waiter Farad was amazing and worked really hard, was awesome with recommendations and very friendly. This restaurant is definite go to!!!

A great spot, even if it’s a bit touristy - excellent location, with a charming stone courtyard in traditional Sicilian style and cool air-conditioned seating inside. Went for lunch without a booking and La Galleria was busy but we grabbed a seat at the bar and had a glass of wine while we waited for a table for about 20 minutes. Staff were friendly and despite being busy with other patrons were happy to recommend some wines to try and kept us updated about our table availability. The food was very good (we had fish and seafood soup), served promptly. For a busy restaurant on a busy day, the service was exceptional: warm and friendly, and very attentive. Overall a highly recommended option if you’re in Palermo.

Arrived from NYC and this place was recommended by one of tour guides. A reservation is highly recommended. They have an extensive local wine list. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the ravioli , pasta with sausage, and the pork with potatoes. The desert was excellent. It was the best food we had in Palermo.

Gagini is a stylish restaurant located in the former studio of 16th-century sculptor Antonello Gagini in Palermo. Fúnnaco PizzaLab is a laid-back restaurant in La Loggia that specializes in antipasti, various styles of pizza, and delectable desserts alongside cocktails. Unlike many pizzerias, it primarily operates during dinner hours. The establishment boasts a youthful and energetic team despite its recent opening. While the decor is modest, the atmosphere is genuine and inviting. The pizzas are crafted with top-notch ingredients that shine through in every bite.
I would have given more stars if that were possible. We went there around 9.30 pm without a reservation and had to wait for about 30 minutes. Totally worth the wait. We shared a caprese, four different pizzas and three desserts among four of us. All of them were amazing. You can also choose from different dough options including gluten free dough. The Neapolitan dough was chewy and soft, and marinara sauce hit a perfect balance between the acidity and sweetness. The wait staff spoke English and friendly. Although the place was full, we didn’t have to wait long to get our food. The ambiance is good, too. They have outdoor seating in this narrow, stone-walled backstreet with fairy lights. A must-visit if you fancy high quality pizza.

Hands down the best Diavola Pizza I’ve ever had, not just in Italy, but anywhere (yes, even Brooklyn, LOL). The service is on point. The vibe is romantic with just the right amount of Sicilian charm. And their Sicilian wine list is pretty solid. If you’re in Palermo and don’t hit this spot, you’re doing it wrong.
Julio R — Google review
Real italian pizza experience. To start off, the place is amazing. It is located in an alley with great lighting, creating a classic romantic Italian atmosphere. We got seated, and the menus were already there. The menu is a bit overwhelming with a lot of options, but they try to distinguish them via a traditional and experimental approach (it is a pizza lab after all). They have a gimmick where they offer different pizza dough, but in my opinion, it is still a bit of a gimmick. I am lactose intolerant, but they had a great alternative by replacing the monzerrale dir extra tomato sauce. Great. The pizza was a big enough fill and looked like the most stereotypical pizza: thick crust and well-filled. The ingredients were nice, but the crust was a bit chewy, so if you're into that, by all means, but not for me. The wine was great, and the glasses had generous amounts as long as you don’t look at the prices. In my opinion, if you have an extra buck in your pocket and want a great, rich pizza experience in Palermo, go experiment at FunnaCo Pizza Lab.

Il Cambusone is a low-key restaurant in an old church square. The food is all superb and the portion sizes are massive! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Some of my favourites were the mussels, sardine balls, pesto pasta and sea bream. I would definitely recommend Il Cambusone to anyone visiting the area.
We had our very first meal in Palermo here — and what a perfect welcome to Sicily! The seafood was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the tiramisu was hands down the best we’ve had so far in our Italy trip. What made the experience even more special was the warmth and hospitality of the entire team. Everyone was genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. We enjoyed it so much that we’re already planning to come back for our last meal before leaving Palermo. Highly, highly recommended!

A wonderful spot with friendly, attentive staff. We had reserved a table in advance, which turned out to be a great decision given how popular the place is. The food was excellent—especially the sea bream, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The pasta vongole, however, was a bit underwhelming. The pasta and sauce lacked depth and were slightly too starchy, though the clams themselves were of very good quality! I can strongly recommend this restaurant and would gladly come back. Thank you!

Outstanding modern Sicilian food which is a must to try. After eating in a number of Sicilian restaurants I came across Quattroventi and discovered a whole new world of Sicilian cuisine and hospitality. Quattroventi is an absolute must to try, a little out of the city centre but definitely worth a taxi ride or a 15 - 20 minute walk. Using seasonal local and traditional ingredients the chef has an innovative way bringing these everyday Sicilian ingredients together with incredible flavours and an unpretentious style. A variety of set menus are available as well as an la carte offering different price points and menu styles. Faultless food, professional personal service and an owner Gabrielle who is also so passionate and personable. One of the best meals we had in Palermo. Thank you so much Quattroventi!

Very very recommended! The restaurant is just outside of the historical center, a 15 minutes walk from the touristic area. Pleasant and elegant interior, with a modern decor. This is not a touristic restaurant, and most of the customers were locals. We had a great dinner. We chose the fixed 4 course menu, and had a delicious set of fish based dishes (plus unexpected welcome appetizers and small cookies selection before the dessert!). The menu is based on traditional cuisine, but with a modern twist. We thoroughly enjoyed everything: each dish was made of great quality ingredients and skillfully prepared. Pasta alla carrettiera with fish tartare and bottarga was an absolute highlight. The service was professional and friendly, and they advised us well on local wines. The price was very fair. Considering the excellent quality of food and service, we found this place very good value (115€ total for two people).

Osteria Pane e Alivi is a popular dining spot in Sicily, offering a delightful culinary experience. The staff may seem a bit reserved at first, but they make up for it with prompt and friendly service. The pasta dishes, especially the Norma, are highly recommended, and the seafood courses are equally impressive. The wine selection is also noteworthy. While the covered terrace lacks some of the indoor charm, the lively atmosphere and delicious Sicilian food make it a must-visit.
Absolutely must-visit if you want to try Sicilian seafood in a local restaurant, a bit hidden from touristic roots. We ordered trio of tartar and a catch of the day for dinner. Everything was fresh and tasty. It seems that locals like to go there, so you can trust the quality) Service was also great. Even though stuff don’t speak much English, trust me you’d understand everything)

Incredible Lunch – True Sicilian Flavors We had a fantastic lunch at Osteria Pane e Alivi, authentic spot tucked away in a peaceful piazza in Palermo. The food was fresh, flavorful, and full of Sicilian character. We tried several dishes, each more delicious than the last. The fresh pasta with shrimp and pistachio pesto was a definite highlight—creamy, aromatic, and a must-try. The pasta with tomato sauce, fried eggplants, and salty ricotta was rich and comforting. The ravioli filled with sausage and potatoes, topped with cacio cheese cream and crispy guanciale, was packed with flavor and absolutely comforting and satisfying. We also shared the sliced beef steak with rocket, cherry tomatoes, Grana Padano flakes, and balsamic vinegar—tender, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. Service was kind and relaxed, making for a perfect midday meal. If you’re in Palermo and looking for a place to enjoy a high-quality, local lunch, this is it. Don’t miss the pistachio pesto!

Very good restaurant. Seems to attract more locals than tourists, but they are still very welcoming to all. The swordfish caponeta was particularly good.

Unfaithful restaurant! I ordered a whole lobster and they mixed the meat inside pasta with the meat almost can’t be seen, only the shells there! Much less than we ordered from other restaurant. Not friendly to foreigners!

Ristorante Quattro Mani is a modern restaurant located in the heart of Palermo's historic district, offering a sophisticated dining experience with a menu featuring local delicacies such as pork with bittersweet pumpkin and sardine tempura starters. The restaurant is known for its exceptional service and atmosphere, surrounded by green plants in Piazza Magione. With a focus on excellence, this culinary workshop provides an authentic taste of Sicily in the vibrant Kalsa district.
I had a fantastic dining experience at Ristorante Quattro Mani! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish bursting with flavor. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly without being intrusive. What I appreciated most was that we never felt rushed; we were able to take our time, enjoy our meal, and savor our drinks at a relaxed pace. A wonderful place to dine. 🍷🍽🍾

I find it difficult to recommend this restaurant in its current state. At first glance, it promises an elegant and authentic Sicilian dining experience - but unfortunately, it falls short. While the presentation is attractive and the service passable, the overall quality doesn’t justify the price. The flavors are present but muted, and the portions are underwhelming. The atmosphere is decent, but an unpleasant sewage odor significantly detracts from the experience. That said, with some thoughtful improvements - particularly to flavor and ambiance - this place has the potential to offer an excellent experience. For now, however, I’d suggest exploring other options for a truly satisfying Sicilian meal.

One of the best restaurants in the area! An amazing place with delicious food and a warm, welcoming staff who are genuinely happy to see you and eager to recommend the best dishes. The fish is always fresh, and the seasonal dishes are absolutely delightful. The atmosphere makes you feel at home while still enjoying a high-quality dining experience. A perfect spot for both locals and visitors who appreciate fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. We asked them to choose the wine and the food, figuring that they knew the menu better than we did, and we were right. Each dish they brought was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Finally, the cost is very reasonable for what it is. We will definitely return!

The food, service, and ambiance of Ristorante Quattro mani is unbeatable. Everything my wife and I had was fantastic! The truffle ravioli and citrus crusted swordfish was out of this world. We ended the meal with the classic limone granite. Very attentive staff, too! Highly recommend.

Excellent food. Certainly the best meal we have had in Palermo. Do not miss the lemon cream with raspberries dessert.

This was by far the worst meal I had in Italy. While the atmosphere and service are ok, the food was an utter disappointment. The raw prawns were incredibly pungent compared to other sweet, clean tasting raw prawns I had elsewhere in Sicily, and the pastas lacked any flavor and complexity. Go elsewhere.

I rarely give a restaurant 10/10 points, but Quattro mani deserves full points for both the food and the service. The steak was perfectly cooked topped with delicious potatoes. The pasta was also very good, marvellous choice of herbs! The staff was very friendly and professional and made us feel welcomed. Big recommendation for this restaurant.

I Cuochini is a historic deli established in 1826, located on Via Ruggero Settimo. Originally catering to Sicilian aristocrats, it has evolved into a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The deli offers a variety of freshly made products including savory pastries like panzerotti, arancine, pasta timbales, and the famous pane e panelle - a sandwich roll with fried chickpea flour slices.
Great Street Food. The pieces are small but that means you can try a number of them and not be too full. Also, they are of a very high quality. We tried the Arancini Carne, Crocchette di Latte, Chickpea in a Bun, and a Cheese Pastry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The packaging of the eight piece was very attractive to look at. Maybe a minor point but showed the care they take of the produce. At €1 per piece the food is extremely affordable and value for money.

26/10/2023 I wanted to try something local, made on spot, not the frozen ones; and yes, I was pleasantly impressed: the dough and the ingredients are fresh and good. I recommend this place so you can taste tasty local products and to have a comparison point of taste in everything you’ll try in your Palermo journey It’s a little bit difficult to find, because is inside a gang of a building , but also is near the Garibaldi Theater so it’s not impossible.

Great coffee and granita place in the city center. We had coffee granita and iced coffee, both really good - not too sweet, not too watery, the flavor was just right and refreshing. It is also nice to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the streets of Palermo. The service was a bit slow, but there were a lot of people, so it is understandable. Possible to pay by card 💳 Recommended :)

I recently visited Caffetteria del Corso in Palermo and was blown away by the delicious treats they had to offer. The granite and brioche were particularly standout items - the perfect combination of sweet and refreshing. What impressed me most was the fast service - despite the cafe being quite busy, the staff worked quickly and efficiently to get everyone their orders in a timely manner. The location is also fantastic, right in the heart of Palermo and easy to find. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this is the perfect spot to grab a quick and satisfying snack. And if you're in the mood for something a little heartier, be sure to try the warm pastries - they were absolutely delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Caffetteria del Corso to anyone looking for tasty treats and fast service in a convenient location. It's definitely worth a visit!

Cioccolateria Lorenzo is a charming family-owned cafe located in the heart of Palermo's Kalsa neighborhood. Housed in the city's historic public baths near Piazza Marina, this cocoa-obsessed destination offers a Parisian cafe-inspired atmosphere with twinkling fairy lights, second-hand books, and upcycled furniture adorned with local artists' paintings and illustrations. The leafy courtyard is a popular spot for locals and expats to relax amidst potted palm trees and stone statues.
Beautiful café tucked away on a stunning street in central Palermo. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming. The desserts were really good especially the vegan chocolate cake, which was just the right amount of sweet. A great spot for an afternoon coffee

Cioccolateria Lorenzo is a fantastic spot for chocolate and coffee lovers in Palermo. We were searching for a good café and ended up in a place that truly delivers on indulgence. Their chocolate cakes were absolutely delicious, and both the cappuccino and the chocolate drink were excellent. Just a heads-up—the hot chocolate is so rich and dense, it’s practically a full meal. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. We didn’t try the pralines, but they looked top-quality. If you’re craving a coffee break with a serious chocolate upgrade, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely small café. Just sit down and they will take your order. Coffee taste nice, cakes are amazing. A good start for the morning. Nice vibes. Rather to go how I can imagine.
Alexandra S — Google review
A sadly disappointing experience. The mud cake was dry and lacking in flavour. The point of a mud cake is to be more wet (like mud), the opposite of dry, so that was a shame. The double chocolate mousse was weird; you would expect 'double chocolate' to be 'a lot of chocolate', but it tasted mostly like raspberry. It was, in that sense, slightly interesting and unique, which I can appreciate, but a different name would have been better. The carrot cake's flavour was fine enough, but it was dry and felt like it had been in the fridge for a few days, it didn't taste fresh. The white chocolate milk was too sweet; the first moment of tasting it, it tasted nice, but then the sweetness overwhelmed any flavour. The dark chocolate - well, look at the picture, it looks like milk chocolate. I asked to add chili to it (to enrich the flavour of the dark chocolate), but there were just some supermarket chili flakes on the top. We liked the creaminess/thickness of the chocolate milk, but in general it felt and tasted more like a molten chocolate bar than professional chocolate milk. All in all, I would be completely fine with this in a random restaurant, but I expect better in a cioccolateria. The place is also very chaotic; loud, cramped, hot (inside), waiters don't really pay attention to you out of their own initiative... The first time we came inside, lacking any menu, greeting, or anything, we eventually decided to ask a waiter, who distractedly said it was better to come back another time, so then we just left - but when we came back the next day in the morning, it still felt the same. Our cakes were eventually delivered at the same time, but after that it took about ten more minutes to receive our hot chocolate milk - and mine was already cold when it was delivered... Not how a cioccolateria should feel.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot to mingle with fellow diners—from local families to visiting actors—especially if you can grab a seat at the communal table.
What a wonderful place, we were welcomed by signore Giovanni who is a true host and gentleman. Food is delicious, lots of classic Sicilian dishes all done in a home-made style. Prices are very good too and the atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommended. A place to come back often!

This was, undoubtedly, the best meal in two weeks of driving around Sicily. Food was excellent, in particular the caponata, spaghetti with aubergine & sausage, and an incredibly fresh mackerel. The owner is very nice, and speaks good English. Shame we only found it on our way to the airport, or else would probably have gone again.
David W — Google review
I was really disappointed with my visit to Trattoria da Pino. Even though they had five staff members working and the restaurant wasn't busy, the service was incredibly slow. I ended up spending two hours there just to have a few small dishes, which felt like way too long. Unfortunately, the food didn't help either - everything looked and tasted like it had been microwaved rather than freshly prepared. On top of that, they didn't even have any desserts available when I asked. To make matters worse, I expected the meal to be reasonably priced, but it definitely wasn't cheap. Overall, not what I hoped for.

One of the best meals of my life! The food was incredible. Our server was so kind in sending to the table whatever they thought was their recommendation. This place was suggested to us and we would also recommend to anyone, the best food we have had in Palermo. We had the swordfish rolls, the ricotta cake, swordfish, spaghetti, And caponata. Must try!

This charming, family-run trattoria is a true local gem, open only for lunch. You won’t find many tourists here, but you will enjoy delicious food at genuine local prices. e paninis here were absolutely on point. Crispy, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. While they’re slightly pricier than your average panini, the taste and freshness make it totally worth it. A delicious treat I’d happily order again!

By far, the best experience we had in Palermo. Food was local, extremely tasty, everyone was smiling and helped us around. The Italian restaurant Osteria Al Casareccio is a great place to go for food and drinks, as well as for entertainment. It's located right next to the street, and can get quite noisy with Vespa drivers and lots of tourists. The taste of the food is excellent, and the service is particularly good for tourists. Prices are around 10 euros per person with cover charge.
I should tell that this place is fabulous, the place, taste, atmosphere, the behavior and generosity of place is fantastic. I tried one of the best pasta i have ever tasted, “Scoglio” was amazing, big portions and the best taste, the guy named Marcello and his brother were so gentle, funny and also the big thing for me was that I dropped my wallet and this person picked up my wallet from the floor and kept it for hours! When i figured out that my wallet is lost i run to the place, after hours, this gentleman politely returned my wallet to me! :) I can’t believe this kind of generosity. What can I say... the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 1 is because I should’ve had the guts to confront the waiter directly - and I didn’t. That's on me. Still, I just can’t let this one slide. I ordered a carbonara and a spritz. Before I even managed to do that, three different waiters had already been to my table — one with the menu, another to take the order, and yet another trying to take it again, clearly unaware it was already done. Nevermind. When the dish arrived, it was obvious right away it had been cooked with cream - which, as anyone who’s ever had a real carbonara knows, should never happen. And that was just the beginning. The guanciale (or whatever kind of meat it was) wasn’t mixed into the sauce at all but rather generously sprinkled on top of the finished pasta, as if it were a garnish. Because of that, the sauce itself was pretty much tasteless until the very end, after I mixed everything and let it sit for a while. The fat from the guanciale hadn’t emulsified with the rest of the sauce either — it just sat there, separate and greasy. The “meat” was about 90% fat, and the few actual pieces were so tough it was hard to chew through them. You could even see the black, burned edges. Out of nearly two weeks of dining in Sicily, this was hands down the most disappointing meal — I honestly didn’t think it was possible to mess up a simple carbonara in so many ways at once. When I followed my waiter inside to pay, another one stopped me to ask how he could help. I said I was heading in to settle the bill, and he asked if I remembered my table number — while another waiter was already at the counter preparing it. I wouldn’t even mention it if the level of disorganisation weren’t so absurdly obvious. The only redeeming parts of the experience were the spritz (which was fine), the charm of the little street, and the rebound tiramisu I treated myself to at a restaurant on the next street over.

Dined at Osteria Al Casareccio twice – once for lunch and again for dinner – and both visits were exceptional. On my first visit, I came in during an off hour when most restaurants were closed. Jet-lagged and needing a quick meal before an important call, I was so grateful the team kindly packed my order to go. Their hospitality was warm and accommodating. The menu is impressively thoughtful and diverse for such an understated location. The pasta busiata with uni and local gambero rosso was a standout – rich, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Their marinated shrimp was equally excellent, and even the bread deserves a mention for being fresh and perfectly crusty. Wonderful food, lovely team, and a welcoming vibe whether you’re dining in or grabbing something on the go. Highly recommend.

This is a lovely cafe located right next to the church of La Martorana. There are several outdoor tables surrounded by shrubs with each table having a real plant which is nice. We popped in for a light breakfast of a croissant and Danish style pastry. There is, of course, a large selection of food to accompany the coffees, though not all were available on our visit. Service is fine.

Their gluten-free options make it inclusive for all visitors. The gelato is described as delicious, refreshing, and simply perfect by many patrons who highly recommend the pistachio flavor.
The ice cream was very good and had lots of flavor. The prices aren't too high (3.50€ for the big cup). The staff were very friendly and joking with us. The ice cream itself was good, it didn't quite live up to the hype of being the best in town. However, the staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and welcoming. When it comes to Sicilian cuisine, there are a variety of elaborate and contrasting dishes to try. From the sweet and sour flavors of caponata to the rich and flavorful sarde a beccafico, which consists of sardines stuffed with raisins and breadcrumbs before being deep-fried to perfection. Additionally, pasta with sardines and pine nuts is a popular choice among locals.
Lovely people and food! I highly recommend this place! I was there several times for eat and also highly to mention is their take away shop next door! Which saved my Christmas evening after another restaurant canceled my reservation at short notice. I had from them lovely oysters, fish balls, cooked fish, lasagne....damn! So yummy! Saved my evening 🤤😋 see you soon!

We had such an amazing lunch. Our server Naomi, was so helpful and provided such a great customer service experience. We ordered the mussel soup for our appetizer and it was perfection (recommended by Naomi) we also ordered the marinated shrimp and uni pasta. The little chilli peppers with the shrimp were heaven it was sweet and mildly spicy, it complemented the shrimp really well. Lastly, my partner and I shared a sea urchin pasta, it was delicious. I appreciated that they split the dish for us knowing that we were sharing. Here’s the part that made us really happy and appreciative, they made a special spicy olive oil for us given that they didn’t have any. We had gone to other places were they outright told us no, but they went above and beyond beyond and the chef made us a fresh chilli oil 🤌. Thank you for making our last lunch in Palermo so special

Service was good, the waiter is very friendly. The seafood I would give a 3.5 - 4 stars, ordinary seafood if I consider in Sicily. The cuttle fish pasta is a bit hard. In general, I only ordered four dishes for two people. 35€ per pax, not sure if this is the normal price to dine in seafood in Palermo.

Last night we had a meal of true highs and crushing lows. I agree with other reviews that the price is high compared to other local offerings, and this would be justified if the quality was there. We had some fairly anonymous starters, but the mains were a different story. The crab fettuccine as an absolute triumph. A really great dish. The prawn risotto was OK, but lacked seasoning. I had ordered the grilled fish, and it was largely inedible. Squid which was overcooked and unacceptable. The grilled swordfish was again vastly overcooked and dry. What makes this beyond acceptable was that we told the staff that the dish was overcooked and they did nothing at all about it. Just because surly so we left. I would never go back and would not recommend this to anyone. Give it a wide birth, you won't regret it.

Yes! This place was a highlight in our stay in Sicily. Fresh seafood, with great pricing. 35€ for the Menu, but boy it is worth it. We literally couldn’t finish it... Extremely friendly staff, good wine, and a nice attention to details (sound foam, so it doesn’t sound to crazy in there). Located in a quieter part of Palermo, it was packed with locals, and you could taste it. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in town!

Excellent fish restaurant close to our holiday apartment when visiting Palermo from UK. Daniele looked after us very well.

Beccafico was flavoursome... First round was the calamari, gluten free. The batter was actually better than most gluten batters but some of the seafood was overcooked 😒. It was pretty apparent even for one lacking culinary skills like myself and who will literally eat almost anything. Also, the gluten free pasta options were limited. I was just expecting a little more at this price point. Hence the 4 🦑's. Moving past that, the crab fettuccine 🦀 was delectable (the picture is of gf crab spaghetti, fettuccine in the back) and the highlight of my day, rivaling a lot of seafood dishes I have consumed in Palermo. Now, they gave me a bib which confused me at first. When the main course arrived I realized I had to put in some work to eat my crab, but I happily did work where work needed to be done. Most of the menu is gluten free, except the meatballs. Overall, worth it!

Odori e sapori al Vecchio Monte is a charming family-run restaurant located in a quiet neighborhood of Palermo. The authentic and heartwarming atmosphere promises traditional Sicilian cuisine that takes you on a culinary journey through the region's flavors. From rich pasta dishes to savory seafood and meat specialties, each bite encapsulates the essence of nonna-style cooking. Despite being tucked away from the bustling tourist areas, this gem offers an affordable and delightful dining experience with top-quality ingredients and friendly service.
Most likely, the food will have to wait here, but it's worth it! Generous portions and everything is very, very tasty. The Sicilian salad with herring and orange impressed me with its unusual refreshing taste. The grilled seafood was toasted perfectly. All three of us were very satisfied with our dishes. And what a delicious Tiramisu it was! At the same time, the prices are lower than on the main street, we paid 85€ for 3 persons, with beer, a cocktail and a dessert. The service fee was not included in the receipt, which we liked, and we were happy to leave a tip. We would come back here again!

Edit: the rose wine this time was extremely bad. The food, not as extraordinary as the first time. The truth is this place fully lives up to its name. The feeling is you dropped by a friends house and their Nonna or Zia is cooking dinner and you just join them on a regular Friday evening. I guess what I am trying to say :) is that we absolutely enjoyed our lunch here, it was exactly what we were looking for in Palermo for some time with all its perfections and imperfections. The rose house wine was like a fresh grape juice with beautiful colour and tiny hint of sweetness. The dishes are spectacular and very much feel like home made. Any sort of fish/sea food we tried was VERY fresh. The rolled eggplant is fantastic and a must try. Very friendly with kids.

After traveling for a week in Sicily and being treated rudely by waiters several times, we are very happy to have found this place with outstanding service! Even though there was only one man who seems to be the owner working, he was attentive and meticulous. The food was good for the price we paid. We were happy and satisfied after the meal.
Silvee — Google review
Excellent! We started with the fish bruschetta (salmon and shrimp replaced the tomatoes) which was fantastic. My wife ordered the homemade pistachio pasta and I had the pasta with shrimp in heavy cream and both were exceptional. Add a carafe of wine and a bottle of water and everything was under 60 euros... how do you beat that?!? 100% recommend.
Kris O — Google review
Good food, decent service, and fair prices! A bit noisy for outdoor seating as the server started playing loud videos on his phone that disturbed some of the guests, but we had already finished our meal by then so it didn’t matter, just FYI as I know some people are really bothered by that. Decent service available in English and Italian. Fast and attentive. A small variety of some of the more popular Sicilian dishes available for a very affordable price, especially in comparison to some of the other restaurants in the more touristy area nearby. The oysters tasted fresh and the grilled fish was spiny, but deliciously prepared! Not much on the desserts front though, which was a bit disappointing. Wheelchair access, handicap friendly. Ground floor. Some Vegan and vegetarian food options available. Payments accepted with cash or card. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Heat lamp outdoor for the colder months. Easy to make reservations online.

Had a very pleasant experience, family run restaurant, they were very friendly. make sure to get a reservation as the restaurant is small and fills up fast. The food was excellent, wish I could of tried everything on the menu. The price was very inexpensive but the quality was top notch, very tasty! I spent a week travelling around Sicily, I'd have to say this was the best food I had! very rich and flavorful.

After dinner at this restaurant we got food poisoning. I don't know what exactly from - We ordered pasta with shrimp and black pasta with cuttlefish. We tried both dishes. We didn't even have time to get to the hotel before the whole dinner was spilled on the pavement of beautiful Palermo streets . If we hadn't had to leave the next day, we would have called the police. We have paid for our unforgettable dinner 65 euro and another 45 in farmacia to get rid of vomiting and diarrhea

Seafood restaurant
AjaMola is a seafood restaurant in Palermo that specialises in fresh fish and shellfish. The restaurant has an informal atmosphere with open-view kitchen where diners can watch the chefs prepare their dishes. Aja Mola also offers wine to match the exquisite seafood dishes.
Had a really delicious meal with great service. The raw platter and eel ragu pasta were standouts. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. Probably the best meal I had in Palermo, especially if you like seafood. There was an English menu, the servers were fluent in English, and they were great about accommodating allergies
Nivi S — Google review
Aja Mola is a fresh and modern restaurant that offers a brilliant alternative to the classic trattorie so common in Palermo. We went for the seven-course tasting menu, and it was a delight from start to finish. The waiters were attentive throughout, and the sommelier took the time to truly understand our wine preferences. Special mention goes to the dessert: a playful pane, burro e alici transformed into a sweet dish with butter ice cream, crisp bread wafer, and anchovies—one of the most original and memorable desserts I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely recommended.
Emanuele C — Google review
Very daring and experimental seafood restaurant. Aspiring female head chef looking to get her first Michelin star and deservedly so! I had the spaghetti with scampi, shellfish bisque, cocoa, black garlic, paprika, mantis shrimp and shiso. A little on the rich side but very enjoyable. To start I had the med fritto misto which was a great start! I asked for a little salt though. All and all would definitely go back to explore more of the menu
Aron B — Google review
Everything we ordered was amazing—from the super fresh tuna tartare and fusilli with tuna, to the crispy panko cod with babaganoush. The Riccia with caprino and pear was delicate and delicious, and that dessert (crumble with gelato and anchovies!) was wild—in the best way. Great vibes, friendly service, and some of the most interesting flavours we’ve had in Italy. Can’t wait to come back!
Meg D — Google review
Suck the brain. A bold motto - as is the tasting menu. Unfortunately, bold does not mean good in this case. The menu started off with a small fried triangle that contained burning hot oil to burn your entire mouth. Taste was fish/prawn - alright. Off to a good start. Next up were raw prawns with an oyster mayonnaise that didn't taste like oyster at all. Actually quite good but more focus on the prawns would've been great. Next we had to "suck the brain". The question is: Why? Just putting two severed prawn heads on a plate and telling us to suck it is just low effort. There was no special taste, smart modification or even spice on it. Just cooked heads. This is their statement dish and it just doesn't make sense. The mackerel with tuna was good although the oregano sauce was tasteless and thin. Then it got worse. Pasta with cocoa sauce, a slimy piece of prawn (intestines?) and a few pieces of lobster. Terrible dish. Unbalanced, way too rich. It is not fun to eat and it tastes outright bad. I get the idea but the execution is just not right. The pasta itself was on point though. Next up squid. The 100% guarantee of sea-based food didn't matter anymore apparently. Chicken jus and sweetbread. This dish was pure fat and two of us couldn't finish it because it was so rich. Even the mushrooms tasted just like fat. Again, not enjoyable at all. The fish of the day was more mackerel and it came with sardella and raisins. The sauce tasted like the cocoa sauce from the earlier dish again and didn't harmonize with the fish at all. Bitter, unpleasant. Then we were served some blueberry(?) sorbet with olive oil and capers. We got no explanation what it is (even though we asked, they just left). The sorbet wasn't sweet and adding the capers made no sense. It was neither good nor enjoyable. The highlight of the menu was the dessert. Not only because you're finally done with tasting the menu but because it's actually good. Buttery, sweet, smooth with a nice crunch. The staff was unmotivated, unfriendly and most of all absent. We weren't served any drinks for well over an hour. They just put the plates on our table, read the dish name and left immediately without any explanation of what we were served and what the chef wants us to experience. At least we got more cutlery for every dish than we could ever use (two forks and a knife for the pasta?). The wine recommendation was a frizzante which was fine. Overall I recommend staying away from this restaurant and go find another one. Palermo has so much more to offer.

Best place to eat fish in Palermo! Impressive creativity with the dishes, such as tuna sashimi lightly seared with tomatoes lightly charred on the fire. Truly impressive

The fish fillet was tasty but really embarrassingly small. However the selection of raw seafood was simply beautiful!
Golan K — Google review
Aja Mola is a refreshing surprise in the heart of Palermo. It’s not your typical Sicilian trattoria — instead, it offers a modern twist with a strong focus on fresh, local ingredients and natural wines. The vibe is casual and cool, with friendly staff who clearly care about the experience. The food is seasonal, simple in the best way, and full of flavor. We shared a few small plates — each one beautifully plated and perfectly balanced. The menu changes often, but expect seafood, vibrant veggies, and clever takes on Sicilian classics. The wine list is a highlight on its own. Lots of low-intervention, natural options — many from local producers. If you’re not a wine expert, don’t worry — the team is happy to guide you and make great suggestions. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening with great food, great wine, and no pretension. If you’re in Palermo and want something local but with a modern, creative edge, Aja Mola should be at the top of your list.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Palermo, Mercato del Capo is a feast for the senses. This lively market, with its narrow streets and bustling atmosphere, invites you to explore a kaleidoscope of colors and flavors. Best experienced in the morning, it showcases an array of fresh seafood and street food that reflects the local culinary culture. As you wander through its chaotic yet charming stalls, you'll encounter everything from vividly colored breadings to rich pestos and sauces—perfect for sampling!
Very nice fresh juice and, food and other sicilian food. I think it’s more local and less crowded. Great place to have a fresh breakfast and go sightseeing.

Interesting place but be very careful of the places with food out front and no menu. I was charged €14 for a limoncello spritz and small plate of Sicilian eggplant. The customers next to me were charged €23 for bread and a bottle of beer each. That place was a tourist ripoff.
Bill S — Google review
The Mercato del Capo in Palermo is a vibrant explosion of color, sound, and flavor, offering an authentic window into Sicilian daily life. Tucked among narrow streets near Teatro Massimo, this bustling market is alive with vendors calling out their wares, from glistening fresh fish and fragrant spices to pyramids of fruit, vegetables, and street-food specialties. The atmosphere is electric yet welcoming, with centuries of tradition preserved in the rhythm of bargaining and the aromas drifting through the air. It’s the perfect place to taste Palermo’s iconic street food—arancini, panelle, sfincione—or simply to soak up the lively ambiance among locals doing their daily shopping. More than a market, Il Capo is a living theatre of Sicilian culture and hospitality, and an unmissable five-star experience for any visitor.

Our first Sicilian market experience and it didn't let us down. Lots of vendors yelling and singing at each other. Some fresh and not so fresh produce on offer. The punnets of strawberries were starting to ferment in the heat, juicy though. A lot of the stalls were selling the same tourist items but there was a lot of fresh food vendors too.

Visited Mercato del Capo while in Palermo. The atmosphere was lively and chaotic in the best way, with stalls selling fresh seafood, produce, cheeses, and street snacks. Grabbed some fritto misto di mare — tasty and only €5. It gets busy, but that’s part of the fun and energy. Overall, a fantastic place to get lost and dive into true local flavors. Saluti

Pretty place, lots of the exact same products between different stalls, food is decent, most of it is fried. Vegetables, fruits, aperol, souvenirs, jars of pestos and pastes, spices and some pasta is sold here.

Vivid mercato in Palermo. Ocvupining several narrow streets in this area. Offering fresh fish, douvenirs, spices, homemade products and typical textile products with sicilian motive. Also if you are hungry there are several places with fresh food mostly fried or from the grill, some offering sea food tapas. As usual in the city also fresh squeezed juices are available or cocktails.

Mica Panelle in Palermo is a delightful culinary gem that showcases the rich flavors of Sicilian street food. Known for its signature dish, panelle, these light and crispy fritters made from chickpea flour are a must-try. With roots tracing back to Arab influences, they offer a unique taste experience reminiscent of farinata.
Very fresh and hot Arancina! These are delicious potato balls stuffed with all kinds of great stuff. Only three euros.

Food is quick paninis and sandwiches, some other appetizers, quality is ok. Service took too long to attend to the table, watch out for the “plate for 2” as the price misleads as 9.90€ when is “per person”, therefore it costs double. Not much variety of drinks. As most places in this street you get a table on the road, we ended up here cause most were occupied. We spent around 34€ total

This charming spot offers a delightful array of granita flavors that are perfect for cooling off on warm days. From the classic lemon and refreshing mulberry to unique options like pistachio and coffee topped with fresh cream, there’s something for every palate.
Brand new spot in town to taste amazing granita's Since it is recently open, it is possible to enjoy a tasting round of basically all flavors. Do not miss it ;) My favorite is mandorla tostata (roasted almond), chocolate from Modica and... mango, incredibly tasty and pure from biologic Sicilian mangos (all true!)

The granitas were very good (especially toasted almond!) and the service nice. However, the bun was from a plastic bag (but with a nice orange flavor) and the cream was not good at all - it was from a machine, very liquid and with artificial taste.

Frittola di Ballarò is a traditional Sicilian street food that has been enjoyed since the 15th century. It consists of leftover cartilage and lard from a calf's body, boiled in its own fat and then fried. This savory dish is often hidden under a napkin as it cooks, adding to the allure of watching it being prepared by street vendors.

Nino 'u Ballerino is an iconic spot in Palermo, offering a variety of street food and traditional dishes. Originally a small rotisserie, it has expanded to include gastronomy, pizzeria, and hamburgeria. A must-try is the 'pani ca meusa,' a traditional sandwich featuring beef spleen and lung with ricotta cheese or caciocavallo cheese on a sesame bun.
This is a delicious and very, very visitor friendly street food restaurant! With inside and outside tables that are all very nice, you can have delicious familiar food (including pizza which seems to be very popular for take out) or completely outrageous unfamiliar food that is delicious! Try the Milza and ask what it is afterwards! With limited English, they really help you find something you like. Don't be shy in pointing and asking. Everything is very affordable including the wine and other drinks. It's just a great experience. I gave it a five for atmosphere even though it's a street place! It is THE street place!
Steve R — Google review
While out running errands in the neighborhood, I dropped in at Nino u’ Ballerino, one of the best known places in Palermo for Sicilian street food, to get some arancini (rice balls). I bought two of the classics: meat ragù & peas (the round) and burro (cheese & ham, the oval). They were good but not the best I’ve had in Palermo. Only €2.50 each which is a bargain compared to what they cost in NYC!
Francine L — Google review
A great little place for a quick and tasty bite in Palermo. The arancini were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy inside, exactly as they should be. Their fresh juices were a nice surprise and complemented the meal perfectly. Service was fast and super friendly; the staff made sure everything went smoothly even though the place was quite busy. Simple, local, and delicious, everything you’d want from a Sicilian street-food stop. Highly recommended if you’re exploring nearby and need a satisfying break. Also it's called Nino so I have to put it a 5/5.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Palermo, the Chiesa di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria stands as a testament to the city's rich history and artistic heritage. This grand Catholic church boasts an ornate facade that greets visitors at Piazza Bellini, while its lateral side offers stunning views of the impressive Fontana Pretoria. The church's design showcases a blend of Renaissance, Baroque, and late-Baroque (Rococo) elements, reflecting centuries of architectural evolution.
The monastery of Santa Caterina is the perfect option to start your day in palermo. There is garden with free access where you will find the bakery with the famous canoli and other local sweets. Apart from the garden you can get in the church, which I totally recommend and also go to the top of the church for the beautiful panoramic view of the city.
Τάκης Χ — Google review
For me the view from the roof was great. The stewards in the church and monastery were helpful and polite. I wish I could say the same about the ladies serving behind the counter at the bakery. Perhaps it’s too busy. Other than the physical location at the monastery I found the bakery touristic. To buy pastries I would personally recommend to try and find a more genuine bakery. The small garden in the courtyard is lovely, though.
Shelley B — Google review
Small church (undergoing restoration s of September 2025) but still worth the visit. We bought the more expensive ticket (10€) to go to the church, monastery and on to the roof. This was worth it for the city views as we couldn’t access the main cathedral roof due to a Sunday service was ongoing. The bakery has many sweet treats and they are big and tasty. Of course you pay for the cannoli by weight so the big ones cost more!
Simon R — Google review
We visited the Church and Monastery of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria in the heart of Palermo. It was truly a revelation. From the outside, it looks almost unassuming, but step inside and you’re greeted by an extraordinary Baroque interior overflowing with stucco, marble, and gilded ornamentation. The sheer level of detail is breathtaking. It’s one of those places where your eyes don’t know where to rest first. The adjoining monastery offers a quieter, more reflective experience. It’s easy to imagine the cloistered life the nuns once lived here, moving between the peaceful courtyards and the elegant corridors. One of the highlights is climbing up to the terrace, which offers a panoramic view of Palermo. A host of rooftops, domes, and the mountains beyond. It’s one of the best viewpoints in the city. This visit was one of our favorites in Palermo — a blend of art, history, and tranquility in the middle of the city’s vibrant chaos. Take time to explore both the church and the monastery. The terrace view and the pastries alone are worth the modest entry fee.
Mark M — Google review
Currently under construction, both from the inside and outside. Therefore you don't get to see it's entire beauty for 3€. If you buy the ticket for 8€ you can also visit the monastery. The garden inside is really beautiful!

Jenny L — Google review
Incredible church! Very unique!! The marble inlays are incredible. Also, there was a pass-through turnstile for the nuns to provide things into the church.
Michael P — Google review
Great baroque church with 3€ entrance per person. It's still accessible except the altar area, which is covered with a high green fence. All of the paintings and decorations are available together with the fake remains of the Saint.

Bacio Nero is a great espresso bar in the central train station area. It's open almost 24/7, has great pastries and coffee, and is very affordable. The only downside is that it can get pretty crowded in the morning.
super spot for food and coffee, lots of sandwiches, cannoli , sweet or sour options. seating abailable inside and outside as well. Americano for 2,20€, arancini for 1€. Spicy arancini was the best I tried, also the best kinder bueno cannoli! Staff was nice and spoke english.

A lovely place for breakfast in Palermo. It is very afordable and offers a variet of different pastries and coffee. I loved the pistacho muffin! That was absolutely amazing. I also tried pistachio canoli and tarte (yes, a lot of pistachio) and the tarte with the canolo were a bit too sweet for my liking. The pistachio was mixed mostly with white chocolate and the utter sweetness made it a bit hard to finish.
Žeňa L — Google review
The place is really close to the train station, looks cute and all of the food/drinks are delicious. Prices are very affordable. The lady who served us was a bit rude for no reason. It was the end of her shift I guess.
MariaGG — Google review
Just around the corner from the train station. We stopped here for breakfast and got two cappuccinos and two pain au chocolats for €5! Such good value ! Service was quick and perfect for a pit stop.
Becca B — Google review
Very nice place, a bit crowed, but we have been there couple of times and every time we were satisfied. Definitely would recommend!
Natálie H — Google review
Very good cafeteria with a variety of pizza, prepared sandwiches and pastries. Very good coffee made with fresh ground beans, not pods. Always busy, so be prepared to take away or wait for a seat. The service is good, but don't expect pampering or fawning. I think it's classic Sicilian business protocol!
Stephen R — Google review
Amazing place! Amazing croissants, cappuccino and arancine. And the prices are very low. I totally recommend.
Catalina P — Google review
Clearly underrated place, with great pastries, inexpensive coffee and gelato, and open almost 24/7. the train station area sucks, by or night (especially at night) so if you live nearby or arrive/leave from the train station, you will be delighted to find Bacio Nero and their friendly staff. They are all about efficiency but remain kind and friendly. We went there several times, at night or by day, and were always sad to leave, as we knew this was the best deal around, and you can always find places to sit, inside or outside. in the morning, it is pretty crowded but if you stick to outside seating, you will be fine. Deserves more than the 3.8 stars I saw earlier

Bar
Botteghe Colletti is a charming and offbeat bar in Palermo that attracts a creative crowd and students alike. The tiny space features an opulent interior reminiscent of a 1920s cocktail bar, while the outdoor area allows patrons to admire street art and enjoy drinks on summer nights. The peeling green facade, vintage decor, and complimentary platters of aperitivo add to the cozy and rustic atmosphere.
Absolutely lovely little bar tucked away in a charming alley in Palermo. The cocktails were well-balanced and creative, the service was friendly and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about feedback — everything felt thoughtful without trying too hard. Great spot to stumble upon and even better to return to.
Kolja A — Google review
In Palermo, we stumbled upon a beautiful cocktail bar with outdoor small tables, offering an excellent selection of cocktails. The atmosphere was vibrant and pleasant, enhanced by a dedicated waiter who went above and beyond to ensure a great experience.🍹🍸🍹
Branka S — Google review
We stumbled upon this by accident and it quickly became our favourite spot! Ambiente is really nice and the drinks are great! Waiting staff is also super friendly and fun. They make their own liquor and it is excellent. Try the pineapple spritz - best drink we had in Palermo!
Margun D — Google review
Favorite Bar in Palermo, the best spritz and cocktails:) you can sit right by the street and sip your drink while feeling like a true local. The owner Patrick is a sweetheart, he will always find a seat and a drink for you! Highly recommend!
Hannah F — Google review
Cool little bar in Sicily we came across! Excellent espresso martinis and great vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area
Courtney E — Google review
Great service and amazing cocktails, hidden in a vibey little side street. Definitely recommend!
Sam — Google review
Best espresso martinis so far in Sicily Really like the vibe here. Was recommended by my brother that was just here a month ago and this bar did not disappoint!!
Jairo R — Google review
If you only have a short time to be in Palermo, you have to stop here! The waiter was the most entertaining man we’ve met, who really kept our spirits up in the hot hot summer!! Also, the vibes are immaculate. Great food, homemade spritzes, and so many laughs!

Wine bar
Wine store
Enoteca Picone is a vintage enoteca in Palermo, offering an extensive selection of niche and artisanal wines from local and international producers. The fourth-generation family-owned establishment, now led by Vera Bonnano, boasts thousands of wines from around the world, with a focus on Sicilian wines from niche, artisanal producers. In addition to wine tasting, visitors can enjoy light local plates such as bottarga and tenerumi soup from the full kitchen.
My BnB owner recommended this place to me. At first I wasn’t sure about going a little “out of the way” so to speak, but I am so glad I did! They have such an amazing collection of wine that you’d never ever finish checking it out! The staff were kind and the sommelier speaks perfect English. He gave me perfect recommendations! Most guests were local and seemed familiar with each other as well as the staff, and you know that’s always a good sign if you are looking for a friendly and authentic place for spending a lovely evening while getting to taste local wines.
Sunny H — Google review
A fantastic, truly Italian spot to enjoy a good glass of wine. The staff are like a walking wine list – and an excellent one at that. I was served exactly what I was in the mood for, with generous pours and warm hospitality. How can you not love Italy? Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay next time!
Mateusz T — Google review
One of the very reasons that made me remember Palermo the best city in Italy. I asked to recommend me a few glasses of Sicilian wine, and all of them were more than perfect, thanks to Lorenzo's professionalism and kindness. Highly recommended.
Earl Y — Google review
Wine knowledge and service was fantastic. I asked a number of questions about local wines and the styles I like and the wait person was more than happy to give me recommendations. Every wine was delicious and the cold cuts and cheese platter topped it off! If I lived in that area it would definitely be my local !
Justin H — Google review
Not sure how this place had so many great reviews.. we were seriously disappointed. The owner was having a full blown argument on the phone for an hour and we were unable to do a tasting. It’s beautiful inside but the service is unimpressive at best
Brittany ( — Google review
We came here for a drink as we noticed it on the street and it looked so good, and didn’t disappoint! They personally selected wine by the glass for us which was delicious and great value. We had a plate of meat and cheese which was so good and the fig jam was incredible. Service was so friendly and we accidentally left a pair of sunglasses here that they kindly looked after for us so we could come and pick up the next day… when we then had even more wine! Best wine bar in Palermo.
Nevada S — Google review
Are you looking for a nice wine bar to spend some time with friends? Look no further, Enoteca Picone is the perfect place. We went on a Friday evening with a big group of friends to taste local wines and have some tapas-like food. The place gladly surprised us because of its cozy atmosphere and its great service. They offer a wide variety of wines and drinks, and their food menu is focussed on accompanying wines/drinks. 100% recommended.
Miguel R — Google review
Hipster offerings in a traditional setting. What else could you ask for? The staff knows their stuff and are willing to help you find it. Inexpensive for the quality and experience. This and Dal Barone are my two favorite places in all of Palermo.
