Yet many visitors bypass one of the cathedral’s most precious treasures — the Cathedral Treasure Museum, which houses artifacts of enormous historical weight, including the cross used in the first Mass in Brazil. Impressive in terms of history, antiquity and exterior architecture. The entrance well guarded by a somewhat aggressive parishioner, who did not allow us to take a look inside at six in the evening, when we arrived from Porto, because the religious service for the locals was about to begin. On our next visit to Portugal, I hope we will have better luck with the parishioner and see the interior as well.

The Catedral da Sé de Braga is one of the most beautiful Catholic complexes in all of Portugal. This cathedral is very interesting, especially if you are fond if Baroque architecture. There is also one very interesting gothic chapel. When we arrived it was closed for lunch (12-14.30 I believe). We paid for the 4 euro ticket which allowed access to all but the museum. Visit took about 45 minutes including 10-15 minute wait for the guided tour. Friendly and knowledgeable guides.

The most amazing organ you will probably ever find in a Cathedral. Old, classic and well maintained. A must see, you won't be disappointed. Washrooms and lockers are also available. Tickets were very reasonable.

Disappointed with the Smoothie at Brasileira I recently visited Brasileira Restaurant and while the location and ambiance were lovely, I was quite disappointed with the mango smoothie I ordered. The drink was advertised as a fruit smoothie, but it clearly had no real fruit — just flavored syrup or essence mixed with ice and water. It lacked the natural taste and texture you’d expect from a real fruit smoothie. For a place that seems to pride itself on quality, this was really underwhelming. If you’re looking for a refreshing, real-fruit smoothie experience, I’d suggest trying elsewhere.

We visited this cafeteria almost every evening during our stay in Braga, and it quickly became one of our favorite places. The cakes are absolutely delicious, fresh, and varied – a real highlight! The drinks were always well prepared, and the staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. On top of that, the location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, which makes it easy to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere. We truly felt at home here and can highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Braga.

Easy to say is touristy but actually a lot of older locals when I visited. The service was fast and the espresso was very good. Pastel de nata was ok. Nice spot to sit and people watch

Food is very good. Sitting outside is nice, you can enjoy the sun and beautiful buildings around.

Really good coffe and pastry in good location. It was my first impression. Second day I ordered a chicken salad and home made ice tea without an ice. Salad was ok but “ice tea” was just a lukewarm tap water with pack of tea. Horrible! And I paid 2,30 EUR for it!

It is a historical monument in Braga where you can visit for free, no admission, and open for 24 hours. If you walk from Braga train station and follow the centro sign, you will see this monument from far. The monument is standing there beautifully to welcome you to the Braga city. After you enter, it is only a pedestrian way, only an authorized vehicle can pass tat way.

This is one of Braga’s most iconic landmarks and historic gateways. Originally part of the medieval city wall, it was constructed around 1373 during the reign of King Dinis with the building of the Torre da Porta Nova (New Gate Tower). The gateway was completed in its early form in 1512 under Archbishop D. Diogo de Sousa. In 1772–1773, the arch was redesigned by André Soares, incorporating both Baroque and Neoclassical elements. The western façade is ornate and Baroque in style, while the eastern side is simpler and Neoclassical. Notably, the arch was built without an actual gate, giving rise to the local saying: Bracarense nunca fecha a porta — Braga folk never close their doors.

The history gate which symbolises the start of the old city is magnificent. This gate is the start of the walking street to explore this old city and the main market place which also have churches and gardens lined up. This place is usually flocking with tourists and have been the major attraction of the city.

It's a historical monument, nothing too exciting, but a great place to grab lunch as there are several restaurants around it. It has great details and it's a great place to take photos as the environment around it is very interesting with the contrast between the old and new.

Museum is well kept and well explained in Portuguese and English. So pity garden is under refurbishment and not being able to enter.

At the Biscainhos Museum in Braga, I could almost feel and imagine the lives of the nobles who once lived here. From the horse stables to the huge Baroque ballroom, every detail tells a story. The decorated rooms, antique furniture, and peaceful gardens made the visit both cultural and relaxing.

You just might be-surprised by the Museum and the Palace Biscainhos in Braga, Portugal. Biscainhos Palace is an aristocratic palace of the 16th century where there is an interesting ethnographic and art museum. This magnificent palace is located in the center of the city of Braga, in northern Portugal. The museum shows a beautiful collection of Roman relics; furniture and ceramics dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The palace itself is already an excellent reason for a visit. It has brown roofs and tiles polychrome from 18th century. The tiles represent various hunting scenes. Carriages passed through the ground floor when they were to the stables. This was a great museum! A great peak into the lives of the wealthy in the 18th century. The gardens are expansive and beautiful. Worth the visit for anyone who appreciates preserved time capsules like this. There was no renovations going on as I saw in previous reviews unless they were in bedrooms, which we did not see or perhaps they’re normally not on exhibit. The staff was also very friendly

Beautiful view of Braga, especially from the open air terrace. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We went there for brunch. The granola was delicious. The parking is a little difficult in the area but we'll definitely be back to see the view in the evening. Good value for a large brunch offering.

Nice coffee, beautiful view, nice little playground for kids as well. Breakfast granola bowls were good. Simple pancakes could be served with a bowl of honey and some cream for the price. Two dry pancakes covered in cinnamon was too dry. Otherwise a lovely spot and we’ll be back :)

We had a wonderful time viewing the Roman antiques! They have a small but high quality collection upstairs. They also have collections of sundries from the Neolithic, Chalcolithic, through the bronze and Iron Age found in and around this region of Portugal. The cafe looked great too though we didn’t eat. The gardens were nice to walk through as well I would return.

Very interesting museum of archological finds, also possessing a fantastic bequeathed private Greek and Roman collection. The collection is perhaps rather small considering the massive size of this interesting modernist building.

This museum offers an extensive collection of Roman items found in Braga. Some artefacts from Paleo and Middle Ages are also on display. I am really impressed by the collection.

Very well kept museum with a collection of archeological finds from a lot of centuries BC to the Roman empire. The museum is not very big (you're able to visit it calmly in an hour or so), and has a cute gift shop with some interesting merch. The collection is very interesting and pieces look very well maintained. The museum holds very interesting events, classes and workshops. It also has a library, a children's area and a restaurant, located just to the side of the gift shop on the lower floor. The museum is accessible and has ramps and elevators for wheelchairs and people with disabilities circulation.

Perfect for Gen Xers who want to go out and drink, chill or dance and listen to good music but good for university students too. Never eaten here. It's a fun bar with about 3 or maybe even 4 floors.

It's an amazing construction and is beautifully set into manicured gardens just outside Braga. It is lovely to walk around and is a site that visitors to Fatima include in their itenary. Tough going in a wheelchair, but you can get into the main church. If you do visit and you have a car, go the extra few km up the hill to Samiero.

We only visited this beautiful place in passing. One of Portugal's most famous pilgrimage sites, it is famous for its monumental baroque, serpentine staircase. And from the top of the hill you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city. The world's oldest cable car with a water-balanced system still operates here, the ride itself is not a spectacular experience, but we tried it on the way down. We couldn't take a photo of the stairs from the angle below, because the funicular starts much further down and goes to the top of the stairs, so you have to walk down the stairs (or walk up a lot from the bottom) to the right position. It is worth walking a little higher up, where there is a very nice park with lots of trees and a boating lake.

Climbing the monumental staircase of Bom Jesus do Monte is an incredible experience — each terrace lined with real-size statues and symbolic fountains tells a story. The view from the top is breathtaking, and the surrounding gardens are peaceful and beautifully kept. A perfect mix of faith, art, and nature — absolutely worth the visit!

Since it’s a spiritual journey, it’s really nice to walk up on foot and follow the depicted path of Jesus. Entry to Bom Jesus was free, and it’s clearly a popular spot for weddings – we happened to arrive just as a bride was walking out, which gave us the chance to look inside the church. On the way back, we took the funicular for €2.50, which felt very fair. 👍

Took number 2 bus from the city center. My suggestion is to ride the funicular up and walk down the stairs if possible. If you take funicular both ways, you will miss some amazing views. This place is a must if you are in the area. Short day trip from Porto. You have to pay a small fee to use the toilet but it's very clean.

Highly recommend! What a beautiful UNESCO site. The stairs and the pilgrimage story behind it is beautiful. Funicular was a quick short ride. Ice cream places and hotels around. Loved the boating experience at the lake.

Beautiful cathedral and give very calm feeling. We got ice cream in a cafe near it and we were just sitting and chilling outside on the bench. Really peaceful place. Architecture is beautiful and I loved two angels statues before the entrance.

Lovely setting up above Bom Jesus, worth the visit. Mass is said on Wednesday at 11.00am in English if interested. There is a huge conference (?) center beneath the church where I guess they hold major religious events that are too big for the church.

We saw this on the way to Bom Jesus Do Monte and speed to have a look. We didn't go into the basilica, but admired it from the outside. The complex that the sanctuary is on is vast and beautiful. The steps leading up to the church and the columns are majestic

Higher up than Bom Jesus so worth visiting at the same time. Plenty of parking. A wide flight of straight steps lead up to the church and I have been there when there is a large canopy/alter between the two pillars at the top of the steps where presumably priests address large outdoor congregations on the steps below on special religious occasions. At certain times you can gain access to the dome walkway for a reasonable charge.

This is one of Portugal’s most important Marian pilgrimage sites, located atop Monte Sameiro. It began in 1863 when Father Martinho António Pereira da Silva of the Archdiocese of Braga erected a small monument to commemorate the 1854 proclamation of the Immaculate Conception. Construction of the main church began in 1863, with a new expansion in 1890, and the sanctuary was eventually completed in the 20th century in Neoclassical style. Major pilgrimages are held annually on the first Sunday of June and the third Sunday of August.

Oh this place is so worth to visit just for the sunset alone. It is really magnificent. It is also good for a walk and you have many great views of the cities and landscape from above. Just like Bom Jesus this is a must see if you are in Braga or close. You have multiple places to sit down and relax in this quiet place and I believe there is also a restaurant or bar at the site if you get hungry (closes late afternoon). When I visited there was some exposition downstairs.

First visit to Gosto Superior which is vegetarian cuisine. The atmosphere was cosy with nice decor and a stone wall to accent. The service was very friendly and at the right pace (not rushed or waiting too long) I went for the Veg pie and soup. All the food was fresh, excellent temperature, and well portioned. Be sure to try the apple cobbler for dessert. 😋 Very impressed with this quaint place and will be sure to visit again!

I don't know what the hype is all about.. The food is kind of bland or at least my "Vegetable Tart" was! My gf had the "Grilled Tofu" dish and that was better. I came here because I saw a 4.7 review on Google but I feel like it doesn't match the expectations even if the price is on the lower end. Or maybe only my dish was underseasoned and it was an off day! The soup we had was good though! In regards to the service, I'd say is very good. The gentleman can handle the whole restaurants' tables by himself and that's pretty impressive. The atmosphere inside is pretty chill and relaxed with nice background music. Overall I feel like giving 3 stars as the food didn't blow my mind!!

Super yummy. Lots of veggies, a great lentil and veggie pie, great rice (slightly aticky brown rice - just the way I love it), yummy salad, free tea (delicious!) and a vegan tapioka Pudding for dessert. We paid 19,50€ for all that delicious food ❤️.

I'm travelling a lot through europe and I must say that I never before ate so delicious vegetarian food for such a fair price. I will come again for sure.

Overpriced and boring - stick to the wine if you must. Portions are small and the food simply isn’t anything you wouldn’t be able to make yourself. The salad clearly had been sitting for a while and was easily the most boring version of a mango salad I could imagine - cucumber, tomato, leafy greens, 4 slices of mango, olive oil. Risotto was soupy instead of creamy, cannot confirm nor deny that there was truffle in it as indicated on the menu. Furthermore, according to the menu the risotto is vegan. The one I was served first had cheese in it. Waitress started arguing with me that I should have told her - still not sure how I was supposed to know that the vegan risotto would not be vegan unless I told them so. They remade the risotto without cheese but then it was scalding hot like it had been heated up in a microwave. It didn’t taste bad, at that price point you should be able to expect better craftsmanship though. The Rosé was good but also more expensive than on the menu.

a uniquely elegant vegetarian restaurant. dine like you'll never miss the meat. The fritters had such a light "bready" outside and the zuchinni, onion inside would have been enough of a meal. however then I would've missed the rich mushroom and truffle risotto. and still I saved room for an apple crumble that tasted like a warm winter's night. Absolutely wish I was staying in Braga another day just to eat at Anjo Verde, Green Angel, again. Indeed the food is angelic!

Fabulous meal. So flavorful. Well balanced plate Plant based. Healthy felt energized and so good after this meal. Location is off a quiet square. My meat eating husband loved his eggplant Parmesan (might have been vegan too). Probably one of the BEST. Well balanced, not mushy and not overly sauced so you could enjoy the eggplant + Crispy in just the right spots My beans and “meat” soy based with veggies was soooo good. Lighter than a typical Portuguese dish and so flavorful. Would return here again!!

Not familiar with the area I found this spot and what a gem it was. Needed a break from meat and this was the best place to get delicious flavors without missing it. Service was quick and wine selection unique - tried a 2017 red from Portugal and it was fantastic. Ordered the eggplant parmigiana and mushroom risotto to share and what a pairing they were. Eggplant was lightly battered yet full of flavor. It was an Amazing lunch!

It's not Bom Jesus, just to be clear. But it's a beautiful and well restored monastery. Very creepy because it was so huge and the photographs throughout depicting the restoration are really interesting. It was so dilapidated and they've clearly worked very hard to restore it. It's informative and very peaceful. If you can, do the extra walk around the grounds because this was so good! There are some beautiful woodlands around the monastery with pools and fountains which you would just never know about and they're heavenly. To learn about how the monks lived and how they tended the environment around them up here was a lovely experience. I would definitely recommend.

I visited the Monastery of Tibães and was struck by its history and potential. While some areas are showing signs of wear and tear, it's clear that renovation efforts are underway. The architecture is impressive, and the gardens are peaceful. Despite its current state, the monastery still exudes a sense of grandeur and cultural significance. If you're interested in history and architecture, it's worth a visit. Plus, you'll be supporting the preservation of this important site. Come and see for yourself – it's a piece of Portugal's rich heritage!

Staff were nice, and the place is relatively quiet (except for the construction work being done), but it's quite the detour and there isn't all that much to see - it's old and mostly empty, plus the gardens weren't open when I went. The place is undergoing renovations so it does have potential, but at the moment I can't really recommend. The cappuccino was delicious ;)

The Mosteiro de Tibães is a truly beautiful and inspiring place. Surrounded by peaceful nature, it offers an atmosphere of serenity that allows you to travel back in time. The work of renovation is remarkable — a true tribute to the region’s heritage and to the history that shaped it. Every detail seems to have been restored with great care and respect, preserving the soul of the monastery while giving it new life. A visit here is not only a journey through architecture and art but also a celebration of the culture and spirit of northern Portugal.

Definitely the most beautiful Monastery I've been to (and I've been to a few). Definitely worth doing thw listening tour, was very informative and there was always something available to listen to. In total took about 3hours for us to tour the entire grounds, but it definitely worth it. The safe was so friendly and nice, and the atmosphere was amazing and beautiful as it was rich with so much history... Do ensure that you visit the beautiful lake on the grounds before leaving. Definitely a must see when in Portugal.

Total hidden gem! Ruins of Celtic village with beautiful hilltop location. Leave the crowds behind, set your imagination free and enjoy. There is tree cover so hot day visit probably tolerable. Snack bar and toilets on site. Uneven footing.

Pre-roman settlement, one of the largest in Europe. It's out of the typical tourist path, so we have this place all for ourselves. It's self-guided. Maps are provided in several different languages.

I found this site magical! The setting is a woodland on the top of a hill with valley and mountain views between the trees. The archaeology is incredible, with family clusters of round and rectangular buildings inhabited and developed over several centuries. The pathways, with their gutters, are an unexpected delight. We took around 2hrs- and we only left then because they closed for lunch. Ice creams and drinks are available on site and easy parking is on the main road pull in opposite the entrance.

Beautiful site showing one of the most complex Castro settlements right in the culture’s heartland. This settlement is unique in having a road grid that allows you to literally walk the same paths of these Iron Age people. Furthermore, there is an almost complete bath house that is a must see. The reconstructions are quite out dated, however, they still offer a vague idea of what the round houses may have looked like. You are handed a map with some basic information, however, I’d definitively recommend buying the €5 visitor guide for more in depth information as it will enhance the visit significantly. We were based in Braga for this bus and tried to get the number 13. However, a local told us it wasn’t running from the stop it was scheduled to run (there was no information about this at the stop, and this is the stop the tourist info centre told us to go to the day before) from and took us to Central I where it was running from for that day. This meant we missed the 8.30 bus and so decided to get a bolt to the site for ~€13 which was about 20 mins. We then walked 30 mins to the Castro Culture Museum in Briteiros. We then took a bus to Guimarães following Google Maps’ instructions which were accurate (it was not delayed about 15 mins).

We went for the sunday buffet where it was present that it contained the starters, main dish and deserts. The food was good (hence the 2/5 and not 1/5) and the service wasn't bad but in the end they charged us extra for the deserts (1/4 of the price of the buffet). There wasn't any reference to the deserts being an extra... Just felt rigged...

Great food, great presentation and great service. Reason for being 4 stars is that I went with family looking for a typical Portuguese place and this is not one. Great place for lunch or dinner for two or a business lunch. Nonetheless, the service was great and for what you pay, the place is truly beautiful.

A wonderful buffet of fully vegan dishes, everything we tried was delicious and freshly prepared. They kindly pointed out many gluten free options for us on request. Calm, relaxing atmosphere and the place was spotlessly clean. The staff were all friendly and the service was excellent. Perfect experience, highly recommended!

It has an amazing architecture, but I simply do not like the idea of paying to enter a church. There are many interesting sculptures that you may see for free and if you want to see more, there are also the paid parts of the cathedral and the museum, which are also beautiful.

At first glance, the Igreja da Misericórdia de Braga might go unnoticed by those who pass between the bustling square and the grand Sé Cathedral just behind it. But this church is no mere footnote in Braga’s religious landscape — it’s a radiant jewel of Renaissance architecture and deeply lived faith. Our visit coincided with the Semana Santa, and that alone elevated the atmosphere to something bordering the mystical. Processional floats, like the striking figure of Christ crowned with silver rays and surrounded by white flowers on deep purple velvet, awaited their moment of passage. The scent of incense, the gilded altarpieces, and the glow of stained glass cast a golden reverence over the small but richly decorated interior. What many don’t realize is that this church has a quiet passage that links it directly to the Sé Cathedral, forming a shared sacred space — architecturally and spiritually. This connection grants access to the Cathedral’s Treasure Museum, a marvel in itself, where we saw a fascinating array of vestments, ancient crosses, religious relics, and even Hispano-Arab tiles. The church and museum together form one of the most immersive windows into Braga’s layered religious history. One of the most surprising moments came as we explored the rear courtyard behind the church. There, unexpected and mostly unmentioned in guidebooks, lie traces of archaeological ruins, including tombs from Roman times, stone artifacts, and silent cloister spaces soaked in history. It’s the kind of detail that rewards the attentive and respectful visitor — a place where the past still breathes through mossy stone and rain-slicked granite. Despite all its richness, the church lacks proper signage and explanations for foreign visitors, and some areas — especially around the ruins — feel neglected, as if waiting to be rediscovered. But that, in a way, is part of the charm. This is not a place of polished tourism. It’s a space that asks you to look closer, to slow down, and to listen. Igreja da Misericórdia is not only a hidden treasure — it is a living one. Humble in appearance but astonishing in content, it connects Braga’s sacred tradition to the visitor in a quiet, powerful, and intimate way. Those who walk past without entering will miss not just a beautiful church, but an entire dimension of the city’s soul.

Creepy church filled with bones and coffins. Typical Catholic memorabilia and numerous opportunities to continue enriching the Catholic Church through donations. The ruins are falling apart.

We are catholic and go to mass every Sunday. We were not allowed to enter the mass despite the fact that we told the short man in the entrance that we are catholic. All he said was: it lasts one hour and we said we know because that’s the usual length of the mass. We were dressed appropriately and he let the other people go through. I don’t know if it was because of our age or because we don’t speak Portuguese because we are from Argentina. It’s disgusting to be treated like this by your own church.

When you visit Braga, you can visit this church. The church has beautiful architecture. It is easy to reach the location by maps if you are afraid to get lost. The entrance is accessible for wheelchairs. There is almost no queue to enter the church.

The Basilica dos Congregados in Braga is a striking Baroque church that immediately catches your eye with its ornate façade. Stepping inside, the golden altars and detailed artwork create a sense of awe. By day it shines with history, and by night its illuminated beauty makes the square unforgettable.

An oratory temple, with the attached convent (currently one of the buildings occupied by the University of Minho), well worth the visit. Lots of religious activities (Catholic) going on, particularly Confessions.

For healthy, vegan, or vegetarian food, this is an excellent choice in Braga. I didn't know the concept: you pick the main component, and then it's accompanied by a salad, vegetables, and rice. Like this you get a full meal for under 5 euros. Bonus: you can drink as much tea as you want. Unbelievable! One caveat: no international credit cards.

I rarely write reviews on here but for this one I have to. They have the friendliest most sympatic waiters, really good food, free tea and very fair prices. I,ve been here many times in the lunch break of university. I wish there was 6 stars to give :)

Nice spot for an easy trek. I saw lots of butterflies, which the place is famous for. There's also a pond nearby with lots of frogs. Quite peaceful.

Best view of Braga! We walked up the hill but I am sure you could uber. A lot of bike riders and runners as well. Nice and cool at the top with the breeze at about 10am. It was a quiet time to visit too which we loved.

Take the walk to the top of the hill and enjoy one of the greatest Braga views. A bit hard to find the marked road if you don't know it. Take the route to the stadium, pass it and then turn left. In 200 meters you will see the road up.

This is a beautiful view point when you follow the wooden bridge. Do not go over to the white building in the parking lot. There is a large “meet up” area which is full of condom wrappers and mess. Do not visit if you have children with you.

This is an honest review as the ones I read prior to doing the hike were misleading for a solo hiker. The beginning of the trail is a long known spot for illicit activities. You do not want to walk the portion from the road to just past the adventure park on your own. The trail at the beginning is like a homeless dumpster of stench and garbage. After that it’s a lovely oak covered trail to the top with stunning views.

It's nice for a viewing Braga city on the hill. Good walking place.

This is a wonderful church on the outskirts of Braga. As opposed to Bom Jesus, there was no one around when I visited and it seemed like I walked through a housing estate to get there. I would advise you to follow the road signs to the place rather than use Google Maps. The Capela de São Frutuoso is also known as the Capela de São Frutuoso de Montélios and is a pre-Romanesque chapel that was originally built by the Visigoths.

São Frutuoso chapel, in Braga, the oldest church in Portugal retaining its original structure. It was built by St Frutuoso, Bishop of Braga, in the latter half of the 7th century as the church of São Salvador de Montélios, and remained relatively unchanged through the centuries. It was incorporated into the 17th century convent of São Francisco as a chapel connected to the main church. It's a tiny church on the Greek cross pattern with an interior dome. It bears a resemblance to the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna and may have been intended as the tomb of St Frutuoso.

Quite when I visited but staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the beers they sell. There was 8 draft 50+ bottled/canned beers to choose from, with the beers I saw being from Portugal, UK, Belgium and the Chech Republic. Recommend

Lovely cafe just off from Braga Old , funky, vibrant interior. We went there for breakfast , and food was OK....unfortunately dessert was bit of disappointment . Panna cotta like dessert had way too much setting agent ( maybe agar agar). It was a nice vanilla flavour but maybe the recipe has to be improved when it comes to the texture

Very nice slice of cheesecake but I wouldn’t come back here again for coffee. We ordered a Cappuccino and it was as pictured. No foam and more like a coffee with milk which was quite bitter although we were still charged for a cappuccino. Maybe our server was new at making coffee but I would recommend getting a juice or tea instead if you visit here as that is what they seem to specialise in.

Tourist trap !!!! No wonder it was empty on a Saturday afternoon.... Can’t believe I payed 5 euros for such a tiny salad...it looked good because veggies are shredded and fluffy but I was done with it in 20 seconds: this is the reason people don’t like vegan places. Come on owners, cabbage and beets are not that expensive.... and like what 5 pumpkin seeds ?..... feels like I’ve been cheated ... and what a teaspoon of hummus thinly spread on the plate ? It’s ridiculous really ... and on top of that they don’t take cards if it’s under 5 euros and my salad was 4.90 ... I complained about the size of the salad which is like 5 teaspoons of veggies and the girl just replied it’s our portion ..... sort of ruined my mood for the day out in Braga ...

We visited a couple of time and the staff were super friendly and happy to help us find the right beers. They had a decent selection and tables outside are a lovely place to people watch and relax for a few hours. Recommended.

If you're craving a change from generic lagers in your travels then don't miss Mal Amado. They have a great selection of beers, including a number of quality IPAs. The bar itself is actually one of the coolest venues I've visited. Really well done, lots of atmosphere and good music. Recommend sitting inside as this is the most interesting space. We ordered some food as we wanted to stay longer and to our surprise it was excellent. The dishes are small but very tasty and very reasonably priced. Sardine toast was delicious. Four dishes was enough for dinner for two of us. Mal Amado is absolutely with a visit if you're in Braga.

We actually were trying to get in the restaurant next door, which had all the tables reserved even at 6 p.m., so we decided to get a drink here instead and check out another place for dinner. Friendly service and a charming setting right by the church. The interior was fantastic , although we enjoyed the sunshine outside with lots of other mostly local patrons. I had a glass of Red from the Duoro Valley (Montes Ermos Colheita) and my husband chose a hazy New England style beer on tap from their large selection of beers. Both were exceptionally good. We also tried the fried corn for a tasty nibble, since we'd never had it before. Our waitress told us she loved them. While it's been a long time, they tasted like what I remember Fritos tasting like and were quite yummy with just the right amount of salt. Just under 10€ for all three in a touristy area. Highly recommend and we'll be back. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Where do I start? Located in the center of Braga is this absolute gem of a bar. To put things into perspective I was in Braga for three nights and visited this bar each night. Tiago and Vitor have curated a massive catalog of craft beers (12 rotating on tap and around 50-60 different cans). They’re both very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations based on my taste. If you’re into craft beer, or just beer in general, you absolutely have to come here at least once. I can’t speak on their food or other drinks but I did see people ordering cocktails and wine so there are other options in case you’re not keen on beer. There’s patio seating available if that’s your preference, but I preferred to sit inside and listen to the music (they were spinning classic indie rock all three days I went ie. The Strokes, Smiths, LCD Sound System, Franz Ferdinand, etc.). When I return to Portugal I will absolutely go out of my way and take a trip to Braga if I have to just so I can sit at this bar again. Bottom line, just go.

Really remarkable beers from the Letra brewery. Highly recommend that you settle in and try them all. Happy hour runs from 17:30 - 19:30 on Wednesdays, and you get a pint for half-pint prices for the first 6 beers on their board (i.e. Letra beers A - F). The food is trendy pub grub, with spicy chicken wings, hummus and pita bread, padron peppers etc. But everything is delicious.

Loved this bar which also serves food. Such a cool concept with books lining the shelves as well as craft beer bottles. The beers were labelled as letters keeping with the theme. We were recommended ‘Letter F’ (the American IPA) and it was great. Excellent burgers and order the croquettes! The service was very quick and the staff were super helpful and friendly. It is also very accommodating for English Speakers.

The food is delicious 🤤 The best toasts I had in Braga and the best vegan toasts I ever had! Crunchy bread, smooth hummus (looks like scrambled egg), everything well balanced. Amazing coffee, real specialty coffee that matches Nórdico.

We each had the brunch menu our first time we went to Soul, and it was definitely the best vegan brunch I've had so far. So much flavour in one meal! And I'd never had that sort of savory cake before either - wish I could have the recipe! It was a good size of meal too, and we definitely weren't hungry for a long time after that! We came back another day for lunch and we had the leek quiche (which was absolutely delicious), and the bowl which had rice, mushrooms, hummus, and roasted vegetables. I only wish my quiche was bigger, so I could enjoy it's flavours for longer! They also had some very nice local bottled beers to choose from (I had the IPA) and really enjoyed it, very refreshing. And just before we left, we bought a couple of the lovely ice lollies they have there. There's a variety of flavours. They were very tasty, juicy and refreshing. Just what we needed before going back into the heat of the sun! The owners/staff were absolutely delightful to us with every interaction, and were very patient of our complete lack of Portuguese, and they were able to explain things to us sufficiently in English. The place is fairly small and quaint, and is nicely decorated, and on both visits we enjoyed the chilled out music that was playing softly in the background. In conclusion, wonderful place, delicious food, lovely staff, and great to see so many cruelty-free options available. What more could you want? 💚

Exceptional! Was a very nice surprise today :) we were looking for a cozy coffee place to escape the rain and found this cute bistro ran by a lovely couple on Google maps. We ended up eating and trying some snacks and were blown away to find that they were not only vegan, but gluten free, too! The coffee was tasty and the vibe was right. We will for sure come back. Wow!!! I cried when I walked in, i instantly felt at home. It’s very difficult to find vegan and gluten free at such high quality when traveling and Soul just exceeded my expectations. Everything was delicious, and they have an oat iced latte that made my heart melt. Thank you Soul for being here in Braga, you made my soul very happy!

The pizza it’s nothing special but if you have kids this can be a good place to go because the have a kid space. Otherwise, if you want to have an adult meal, this is not the place!

The food is good, however it won't transcend your current food knowledge. The pizzas and pastas are good options. The staff is friendly sometimes a bit overbearing. The atmosphere is family friendly and fit for small chieldren with its playground. However sometimes a bit noisy, but in a family context is great.

As a Canadian who is used to eating multicultural Italian food in Toronto this place is not great.. If you’re look for just a nice cheap place to eat and want to bring you kids here for a party It is ideal for families .. But don’t expect much from the cuisine food is average at best.. Service was great I ordered the lasagna and it did not taste so good My father got the pizza there was no sauce, but a mountain of cheese on top ,floppy messy cheese pizza . If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine, don’t expect this place to blow Your expectations out of the water.. all in all just Ok 👍

It’s a great place to bring friends, enjoy a good beer, and savor classic pub-style dishes. The meat is well-prepared, and the drink selection has something for everyone. With its nice atmosphere and inviting vibe, it’s perfect for gathering, unwinding, and sharing good food and drinks in great company.

Nice beer house in the middle of the neighborhood. The food was good, especially the wings. The service was not that smooth at first but Margarita took care of us and made everything enjoyable. She's really awesome.

I went to F with my friends, to watch a Portugal football game and dinner. For appetizer, we asked for "Ovos Rotos", that were well served, with good and tasty ham. For main course, I chose "Pinga Amor", and it was one of the best burgers I had, really well put together, a great Hamburger beef, bacon, a fried egg and a good mixture of sauces. Really flavorful, that will make you feel good after the meal, not heavy. Everything was brought really fast, with little waiting time. The staff was helpful and checked with us many times throughout the night. It is a good place to watch football with friends.

This is where my partner and I get our regular francesinha fix. As an alternative today, the nachos had surprisingly authentic tasting sour cream - extremely rare we've found in Braga. The guac is OK, and yet maybe still in progress. And the draft beer remains a key draw. Obrigado!

Stopped for a quick lunch with friends. My husband and I shared a Burrito Franganote - it was good. I had asked for the sauce on the side and rather than have a plain burrito there was the usual sauce on it PLUS more on the side. My fault for the language barrier and not using Google translate. So then I could only get couple of bites. I gave only 4 stars because all of the toppings were on their own side of the burrito - you either get a bite of chicken or crispy onions or lettuce, very hard to get all three. Also when they cut through the foil wrapper, bits of metal get stuck on the sandwich.

Had a burger during Sao Joao days, and it was so fast and good! I ordered histórico, it had Brie cheese, bacon, a garlic sauce (delicioso), peppers and it was on my table in less then 20min and it was a really good size burguer.. The music was on point and the staff was very attentive... Great place to eat

Over all you don’t do anything wrong coming here. There are many restaurants/bars and we were in a kind of a hurry. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price for the platter (See picture) and four beer was 25€. We could only pay cash (or Portuguese account) apparently due to Corona, so keep that in mind.

What a find! I'm new to Braga, and just finding my way around. Popped into Rossio's to check it out and was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent service, limited menu of pub food which I found quite satisfying, and a comfortable and eclectic atmosphere. The place exudes personality, and attracts a diverse clientele. Several different seating areas, and at least one with plenty of sofas. The location is fantastic for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that there are several other watering holes nearby. Extra points for being able to serve a perfect Baby Guinness. (Not the stout, the shot.)

Very nice place, comfy. Didn't ask for food so can't say anything. There were only one waiter and our group of 20 people were crowded in 4 seats and 16 puffs... we were not allowed to turn another sofa toward us - is forbidden to change the sofas - Unbelievable! and the bar was empty since our arrival till we left. All for customers satisfaction! That's why 1 star and Rossio Bar can think about about a warm reception and not formal.

Cosy place, open long hours, nice music, comfortable couches, good selection of beers and vines. Great owner and waiters. It's 'a must' if you like to experience Braga at night.

Ordinal place with nothing special in menu, we chose that place just becuse almost all tables were free. We had board game like monopoly and spare time to play it, we explicitly asked for double table for the company of three people , they allowed us without any warning...in 30 minutes then they demanded it back. We had wine&plates, we had a game - we were forced to leave the bar with wine left in the glasses and game not finished.

This place is not so good but still underrated cause no one is there. Best place to smoke with in that good terrace and those long tables are perfect for my friend group.

A great place for expats to gather. It's nicknamed "The Living Room." A slender room with a bar along one side. Tapas and cocktails are great. The Negroni was just a tad on the sweet side, but was quite delicious. Wings, chimichangas, mini tacos, were perfect. Loved the aperitas, with the soft corn pitas and guacamole filling. A small "living room" area at the front of the store has a couch, a couple of chairs, and a small table make for a perfect gathering spot.

The guacamole was fresh, nicely seasoned, and generous in portion, tucked inside warm, lightly crisped arepas. Simple, satisfying, and clearly made with care. The setting is relaxed, service was friendly, and while we didn’t explore much beyond our plate and drink, it’s the kind of place you want to come back to. It feels like a small cultural corner — unpretentious, warm, and with good energy. We can’t judge the full range of what they offer just yet, but based on this first visit, we’re happy to give it 4 out of 5. We’ll definitely return for a more complete experience.

This place is a jewel to discover in Braga. It has an international distinction with the tapas they serve. A mix of Spanish, Brazilian and Latin dishes. I had the chicken tacos with a couple draft beers. What a nice atmosphere to just hang out and enjoy meeting others. The owners are very gregarious and have created a welcoming place. I can't wait to return on my next visits. I'm sure to be a regular.

Good choice of cocktails, spirits and beers, with a pleaser staff and clean vintage decour on the inside. Great music, usually rock/pub style, with a jukebox to pick titles from. This is also one of the few places in Braga with a terrace that can catch sun throughout most of the day. ;)
