Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Torre de Hércules, located in A Coruna, Spain, is an ancient Roman lighthouse that stands at 55 meters tall and is the second tallest in the country. It was originally built during the reign of Trajan and has been functioning since then. The lighthouse offers stunning views of the city and coastline from its top, which can be reached by climbing 245 steps.
Definitely the most important landmark of the city and most likely one of the most of northern Spain and Spain itself you’ll get not only immerse at the ancient story of this place, but also in a great views of the whole city and the ocean this place is amazing very well conserved and the tickets were actually very affordable. No doubt you should make this one of her stops my wife and I visit this during the morning and it was very affordable. The climb is moderate hard, bring, of course comfortable clothes and shoes it takes 15 minutes to 20 minutes climbing stairs to get up there, but you can rest up there enjoying a great views just heads up. Be careful of people asking for money in the parking lot. Just stay away if you can get there by public transit better.
Marcos D — Google review
Ticket boot is placed far away from the tower, so if you're coming a different way (from beach) you're going to miss it and you cannot enter. Online tickets are sold out as a rule. Anyway you can walk around and enjoy the wind from the ocean 🌊
Mersida B — Google review
We visited as part of a cruise stop in August. It's Worth being driven to the foot as its an uphill walk. The views get amazing with each step but it does require some exertion. If you want to see the roman ruins inside you need to book tickets. They are not sold at the entry so best check online. If you're tall, you will not be able to walk up straight in some areas but the lightening is good and artefacts are well labeled. There are stone stairs, at least 200, leading to the top of the tower which has even more majestic views. I advise pacing yourself and not being in a hurry to enjoy it fully and take time to catch your breath. Unless you're fit, don't have kids or the elderly with you. If you're claustrophobic this is not for you. Would highly recommend and would revisit at a more leisurely pace in the future. Don't forget to buy the tickets before arriving! You will certainly get your step count in!
Melinda ( — Google review
A spectacular feat of engineering of it's day, understanding the strategic and commercial importance of why it was built is a story in itself. Entry is by ticket purchased at the bottom of the long ramp or on line. Entry is every 30 minutes for a limited number of people ( perhaps 30) there is no one to hurry you and you could stay longer. There is an exhibition of it's history at the lower level then 234 steps (and no lift ;-) ). My only constructive criticism is that the information boards are poorly placed and not illuminated. I couldn't manage to read many of them.
Stephen T — Google review
I would highly recommend you to purchase tickets online. We got here at 2 o'clock and there was no line, and there was nobody here, but they refused to sell tickets, it is a beautiful place. It could be a wonderful sunset. It's a wonderful place to walk around lots to see just to the south, there's more stuff to see if you continue to walk down the boardwalk, I would suggest you be prepared to walk a long way up a hill, if you do not. Have the right shoes nor or have the ability to do so I would think twice about going there. It offers wonderful. It's sunset photos as well as evening photos at night with the lights during the day. They sell ice cream and drinks at night. There is nothing there. There's plenty of parking down on the bottom. And it appears that you can drive up the ramp, if you're handicapped, it does it appear that there is parking but I did see cars parking up there. On the hill, by the door.

The Torre de Hércules is more than a lighthouse — it’s a symbol of A Coruña’s identity. Visiting it is like stepping back in time, while enjoying some of the most spectacular views in Galicia. An absolute must-see for anyone coming to this beautiful coastal city
Haitham A — Google review
The Torre de Hércules in A Coruña is seriously impressive—it’s actually the oldest working lighthouse in the world, dating back nearly 2,000 years to Roman times. Even without going inside, just walking around it is worth the visit. The views of the sea and the city from the cliffs nearby are absolutely stunning. It’s the kind of place where you can just stand and take it all in for a while. There’s a nice open feel to the area, and the mix of history and ocean makes it a really memorable stop.
Summer A — Google review
Didn't go inside the tower itself, but it's a great historical landmark, and the sculpture park in the rocky coastal landscape around it made for a wonderful sightseeing walk.

Nestled just a couple of miles north of La Coruña's bustling city center, Monte de San Pedro is a captivating oceanside park that offers an array of attractions for visitors. This historic site, once a military fortress, now serves as a serene recreational area where you can explore its intriguing maze and admire the impressive Cupula Atlantica observation dome.

Organised coach short tour via our cruise company, experienced local guide, font of knowledge, included visit to this park with on site restaurant/wedding venue; well looked after with tasty examples of tapas, tea/coffee & glass of wine. Great views of the city and its harbours, plus our cruise ship, in the middle distance.

We visited the park on a trip from our cruise ship. It was a miserable day, so unfortunately we didn't get many good views. But I can appreciate that in sunshine it would look pretty nice.

Galician restaurant
Spanish restaurant
A Pulpeira De Melide is a modernized traditional restaurant run by the fourth generation of a family dedicated to serving Galician octopus. The establishment offers an array of Galician cuisine using high-quality ingredients at affordable prices. Their specialty, the octopus (polbo a feira), is cooked in copper pots and served with olive oil, sea salt, and paprika alongside seasoned boiled potatoes. The restaurant combines traditional family recipes with updated Galician cuisine while paying homage to other culinary cultures.
We had a great lunch here after a long walk around A Coruna. I advise arriving early / on time for lunch, we got there about 1.30pm and found a seat easily. The octopus was amazing as was the tuna ceviche.
John F — Google review
it was so delicious. definitely get the octopus and the mussels. the sauce the mussels came in was phenomenal.. we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu even though the waiter tried to stop us after 4 dishes (there was 3 of us), but we cleared everything. i haven’t had a good solid tortilla in a while and that was amazing. the desserts we got also were fantastic. the milhojas was INCREDIBLE. do not miss it. we ordered the iberian ham too which i would skip next time. only thing i would say is - it was a little pricey for what im used to in Coruña, (even though it wasn’t as bad as im used to in the US for example), and the server didn’t really speak much english. one of my friends is spanish so thank god she was there to translate but english speakers keep that in mind! i also rated the atmosphere a little lower than i would- because sitting outside wasn’t much of a vibe compared to inside… would come back for sure though :)
Gummy — Google review
We had Pulpo dobble and it was really delicious and enough for two people, although you could eat the whole thing by yourself easily. I would recommend it!
Ines P — Google review
Got to try the Pulpo, raser fish, cuddle fish crochet, tuna tartar and calamari. All were delicious. Some of the calamari pieces were over cooked, but still good. Our server was very nice, but didn’t speak English so we had to figure things out. Luckily they have an English menu online.
Roya M — Google review
We had the chance to visit La Pulpería de Melide in La Coruña, and it was an outstanding experience. The octopus was simply spectacular—perfectly cooked, with an authentic flavor and ideal texture. The quality and freshness of the seafood truly stand out and make this place something special. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality offered, making it an unbeatable option. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is very attentive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the best Galician octopus and seafood!
Marcos O — Google review
Most guides and tours point this olace as the want to go to eat good pulpo a feria and I do agree the pulpo they have is very good, yet there are plenty of other places aroubd with good "octuos" without the need to line up for 1 hour before getting a seat. Perhaps we were very unfortunate today, but one cruise excrusion suugested their passwnger to come here for lunch and they were all booking in front of us. We decided to wait though and again, let me insist, all good yet not worth the wait being at a city like la Coruña with tons of good tapas and "pulperias" around. Once in, the menus is not too long but it is packed with best of breed of the usual galicia. tapas: potato omelette Betanzos style (not cooked to perfection though), excellent pulpo (missing some more olive oil), Padron green peppers, choco croquettes, cheesecake with Savel blue cheese,... All very good and a bit on the high end price. A must go if you are lucky no to find a queue to get in. Tip: if there is a queue you need you get into the waiting list quickly! Find the old half bald men with glases and wait for tour name to be called loud! Illustration: Double pulpo a feria foe 24,5€ (cachelos sold aside for 3,2€)
Marc L — Google review
Everyone might be coming here for the pulpo (which for us was a tad too tender), but the secret star on the menu is their Gilda de viera, a perfect bite of marinated scallop that beats nearly every dish I’ve had in Galicia. Service was prompt and professional, and the place is full of locals having a great time.
Gramuesi — Google review
Food is really good, but a bit over priced for A Coruña standards. Obviously the octopus was the highlight of the meal, but the rest of the plates were really good as well. When coming make sure you don’t arrive too late as probably you will have to wait in order to get a table as the restaurant is very popular.

Restaurante La Penela is a Galician restaurant located in Plaza Maria Pita, offering a pleasant outdoor seating area. The restaurant's ambience is enhanced by a winter garden with views of the square and city hall. While the service may be slow at times, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu features delicious starters such as garlician soup and peppers, along with renowned local seafood dishes like pulpo (octopus).
We had an over the top meal here today. Quite a selection of starters and local seafood. The tortilla was awesome, much softer than many. The pulpo was the best I've ever had, and I have eaten a lot of octopus. Steak was underwhelming. dessert quite good.
Sean E — Google review
This is my favourite place to eat in Coruña. My boyfriend’s family has introduced me to this restaurant and we’ve been visiting since 6 years. Everytime we visit the city, we always make time to eat their “tortilla de patata”. It is amazing. When it’s the season, pimientos (fried peppers) goes so well with it too. Their meat is also top!! (ternera asada) I’ve tried croquetas as well. All delicious. The location, the atmosphere, everything serves to your experience. Definitely recommended! You can sit in the outside section in summer to get a good view of the main square. I leave some videos of the satisfying first cut of the spanish omelette!
Bilge K — Google review
The place is pretty and very conveniently located. The starters were delicious (zamburiñas, navajas and tortilla de Betanzos) The service from the staff was appalling from the person in the reception to the waiters. Very superior/dismissive and distant not at all Galician maybe a Coruña thing. The main dishes were not great, Carne Asada was cold. Calamares en su tinta con arroz was a mushy paste. The overall experience would have been more pleasant if the staff was more engaging/friendly.
J Z — Google review
Excellent experience with delicious, authentic Galician food! I highly recommend trying their caldo gallego.
Eduardo M — Google review
Nice Spanish food at a fair price, although the restaurant has a nice location is in the main square. Inside, the place is pleasantly furnished and everything looks comfortable, elegant and quiet. Only negative observation: too much (and not too good) oil in the food for my taste.
Stefania C — Google review
Amazing tortilla de patatas de betanzos!!! Some gluten free options and gluten free bread
Celina M — Google review
The ambience in the restaurant feels quite nice. There is a winter garden area, with the view to the square and the city hall. The good point is that they have a menu in English. The starters we ordered are very delicious: garlician soup, garlician peppers, and the famous pulpo (octopus). The main course we had was the Monkfish in garlician style. It was not bad but nothing special. The dessert was the high light of the meal. The chocolate mousse was very dense and rich, full of dark chocolate taste, and not too sweet. So that would be a good choice of dark chocolate fans. The fried milk was also the type of dense and rich pudding-like taste, with crispy cover, and caramel sugar coating. The Rioja wine we chose was the most expensive one on the list, and it was not disappointing. The service was a bit rough. But it is difficult to say whether it the the local style, or the language barrier. No waiter or waitress can speak a single sentence of English. When one waiter served the wine to us, just opened the bottle and threw it on our table, and then he just disappeared, not saying any word during the whole serving process. We were a bit shocked. But finally we served ourselves. To conclude the whole experience, I would say apart from the main dish and the service, everything was satisfying.

I´m sorry to see that our "La Penela " from A Coruña is loosing the good attention they had before. Yesterday we see ones more that they need a hard hand to move the personal and things. It's a park. In the middle of the city. It has an auditorium, several activity parks for the little ones, one dog-exercising track and several walking/jogging paths. Pretty great for the locals. For us, older ones, it has lost some of the magic since they removed the animals (ducks, fish, peacocks...) Oh! And it is home to the House of Sciences, totally worth the visit.

The Charlatan is a unique gastropub that offers a wide selection of wines, as well as a range of more unusual and diverse Spanish food items. The restaurant is complemented by pizza in dough made fresh at the nearby Banetton bakery. Peculiar also has another good recommendation - Intenso located on the street near Barrera, which specializes in intense flavors.
It’s a very cozy place to eat and have a couple of drinks. The vieiras were espectacular and the masa madre bread was off the charts!! The staff is really nice and can help you with the variety of wines and cocktails they offer. A second visit is already due

We were attracted by the slightly softer interior (not bright modern or dark traditional). The welcome was warm as was the service, portions are quite large so possible to share. Menu, as many here are quite complex, but you can navigate through to steak & fries if you want to. Seating is comfortable, overall a very nice place to while away two or three hours.

It‘s a perfect experience: ambient, light, soft music & decoration made us feel really welcomed and we loved the different style compared to many other restaurants around. We were 6 guests - 2 of us vegan & 2 dogs. We started with a good wine from a huge selection of local galician wines and tasted 2 courses. They know what vegan means and it was a real pleasure to explore the different tastes. Highlight where artichoks in a sesame miso sauce and fresh chanterells in a pan with sn extraordinary sauce. The all eaters were super happy as well with their choices. We highly recommend this restaurant if you want to eat something beyond the normal spanish tortillas.

Had a lovely meal here, we had Cecina, Picaña (with chips and a nice salad) and a Pizza, followed by the pineapple dessert. I finished it off with a Macallan 12. All was really well presented, decent price and delicious and the service was really good too.

I have to write this review with mixed feelings. I did like the place and I enjoyed the service and the quality of the food, it was quite pleasant, I would go even further and describe the "Flan" as absolutely delicious... now for the element that makes this review a mixed feeling... We walked in, while we looked at the menu we were offered grouper loins on the grill as out of the menu... both of us lovers of grouper had no doubt... when it arrived... yes, it was grilled but either the grouper was the size of a prawn or we were given a quarter of a loin divided by two...and in pieces. It was also dumped inside a soup, that was not advertised that was not mentioned as part of the dish, I was told grilled grouper loin but I wasn't told it would be dunked in a soup with brussel sprouts and faba beans... It was not the most fortunate experience for me neither something to honor a grouper the way it should be. So before I go ahead and recommend you go to go Charlatan I would ask twice what you are ordering in case they actually honor their name in what they tell you and yes... it is just not what they are suggesting.

Amazing food and service. A waitress in two pony tails was very nice and helpful, he had the biggest smile we have ever seen :) Food was delightful. Pizzas were perfect, duck and other meat was a soft and served along with delicious veggies and interesting blends of spices. ( As a vegetarian I only wished for more vegeterian options. Risotto accompanying the duck could be a great dish on its own ;) ) The cherry on top of our evening was cheescake and flan - purely fenomenal. I highly recommend this place!

Galician restaurant
Spanish restaurant
El De Alberto is a popular restaurant in the heart of A Coruna, known for its marriage of traditional Galician flavors with modern presentation. The passionate chef-owner, Alberto, creatively combines local ingredients with unexpected elements like kimchi sauce on octopus and truffle butter on scallops. The bright dining room strikes a balance between casual and upscale, featuring white tablecloths and colorful velvet chairs.
We had the best experience at El De Alberto. From being greeted at the door by the owners and the entire friendly team to the care taken to recommend dishes, to the amazing quality, taste and portions of their tasting menu. Everything was 10/10. We loved everything about the dinner we had there and would love to come back!

We visited this restaurant today, drawn by the many excellent reviews and eager to try some good Galician cuisine here in “A Coruña” And I have to say, the food was truly delicious: dishes with intense, authentic flavors, prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. We would gladly give the food 5 stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, however, the service did not meet our expectations. The waiter who served us spoke extremely fast, almost as if he were reading from a script, without offering any recommendations or personalized suggestions. And even though I mentioned that we would have appreciated his input, he kept talking mechanically, just listing the names of the dishes. The most disappointing moment came when I tried to ask about the desserts, but I was briefly distracted with my daughter. Still, he went on reciting the list without pausing or adjusting to the situación and then simply walked away. At that point, we decided not to have dessert there and went elsewhere instead. That said, we want to highlight that the waiter who brought us our drinks was very kind and professional, as was the owner, who was very courteous and open to feedback. In short: excellent food, but the overall experience was affected by impersonal and inattentive service.

The food is great, service is fast, place is cosy and Alberto comes to your table to check on you from time to time and he is a funny guy. Love our experience! What a great value too for a nice tasting menu. Drinks are also not expensive, well priced.

This is certainly a gem among all the gastronomic offers in La Coruña. They use high-quality products. We love everything that we had. I highly recommend the sea bass with pil pil of piquillo pepper and the short ribs.

A high end restaurant that feels like family. Everything was delicious and the owner knew everyone or at least made everyone feel welcome. A very special place with the best green bean dish I have had in my life. It has been several weeks since I ate here and I still think about the green bean dish. The beet risotto was muy rico.

We were welcomed by Alberto who introduced us to the tasting menu we were going to have. He offered to make changes if there was something in the menu we were not interested. His team of waiters are very attentive and explained each dish when bringing it to the table. The somelier came to offer us wine to pair it with the food. Overall great experience and all dishes were very tasty, well cooked and flavoursome. Definitely a place to come back.
Elvira P — Google review
Great place to enjoy a revamped traditional cuisine full of flavor. This place is exactly like this, traditional dishes with a modern touch, and enhanced flavors. For instance, we had ravioli, rib, braised ox tail and scallops. Pros: the mix of flavors is strong, they evolve in mouth and the feeling is super positive. Cons: sometimes some really good products are masked in their original textures and flavors. Anyway, a good value for money option in A Coruña 4.6 stars on my opinion
R E — Google review
I went solo back in Fall 2021 just at opening time (they even let me in a few minutes before) and let me tell you this was the best meal I had in all of Spain. I would go back to Coruña just to eat here again. Almost missed my flight back and if I did, I would not have regretted it. As someone who grew up eating the freshest seafood you can ever imagine (family of fishing enthusiasts living in an island), and having been to some Michelin star restaurants, the only other time I had a fish comparable to the one here was the ones that my dad grilled at the beach right after coming out of the water. How about making a gourmet dinner with that kind of fish? The sauce around it, the wine, the torrijas as dessert… price was unbeatable for the quality of the food and the treatment. I want to manifest that I’ll be back someday.

Tapas bar
La Bombilla is a popular tapas joint located on Rua Torreiro, known for its simplicity and local atmosphere. The menu offers basic yet flavorful dishes such as tortilla de patata, chorizo, empanadilla, filete con pimiento, and calamares fritos. The cozy bar features standing tables inside and outside along the street where patrons can enjoy these simple but tasty tapas.
Your must go in A Coruña for a quick informal bite on your tapas night. It’s simple, it’s traditional, it’s quick and the best to immerse yourself in the Galician culture. You go there for their tortilla and homemade croquetas. You would probably eat standing up while talking to people around you while drinking a 1906 beer. Very affordable and tasty.

Superb tortilla, generous portions, rapid service. Hard to get a table but we were happy to stand. Vibrant, slightly intense atmosphere. Kind staff. Very clean for such a busy establishment. I liked the touch of the napkins being in an empty Colacoa tub.

A must in La Coruña, but it is always packed.due their well known tortilla and croquettes -although they have far more tapas as well-. Prices are very low compared to surroundings bars and the place is really small, so you get lines all the time.

I came across this place in a travel blog and what can I say it didn't disappoint!! Clearly a place the locals flock to as lots of people on their lunch breaks.. We decided to do the English thing and order pretty much everything on the menu and I'm so delighted we did! We spent €20 which included more small dishes then a pregnant woman with twins and her athlete husband could manage a pint of beer and a coke zero. My god the meat balls, squid and ham croquettes were insanely good, not ti mention the chorizo! Forget tapas in the UK this was another level. Super friendly and helpful staff which added to the experience... Honestly this place was amazing Toilets in the back which is easily accessible

Restaurante Árbore da Veira is a renowned dining spot in A Coruna, known for its elegant setting with ocean views and creative seasonal tasting menus. The restaurant has earned a Michelin star under the culinary expertise of chef Luis Veira and Iria Espinosa. Their tasting menu showcases fresh, seasonal ingredients in a delightful array of flavors and sensations, complemented by an extensive wine selection featuring unique options.
This establishment has truly captured my heart. The expansive windows provide breathtaking vistas, and each culinary creation is meticulously designed. The harmonious blend of taste, appearance, and scent is truly exceptional. Both the cuisine and service are first-rate, and the pricing is surprisingly affordable for a Michelin-starred restaurant. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!😍

Outstanding! Food- Wine - Service- views: One of the best meal experiences I've had in Coruna. Had the taster menu and recommended wine. Pics are great but lack the taste!!
Simon G — Google review
I visited Árbore da Veira in A Coruña with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. Despite having informed the restaurant of the occasion in advance, this was neither acknowledged nor mentioned at any point during the evening — a disappointing oversight for a Michelin-starred establishment. The tasting menu was visually impressive, with colourful and well-presented dishes made from quality ingredients. However, while the presentation stood out, the overall dining experience felt somewhat impersonal and failed to justify the restaurant’s reputation. We attended using a gift voucher that included both the tasting menu and a set amount for alcoholic drinks. As we were driving, we only consumed two glasses of wine each, leaving a portion of the allowance unused. At no point were we informed that the remaining balance would not be refunded or credited. It was only after contacting the restaurant later that we were told this was their policy. This lack of transparency was disappointing and inconsistent with the level of service one should expect at this calibre of restaurant. In summary, while Árbore da Veira delivers technically refined dishes and strong presentation, the service and communication fell short, leaving the overall experience underwhelming and not reflective of Michelin standards
Juan O — Google review
An exceptional restaurant with a breathtaking ocean view, delectable cuisine, and overall excellent service. Although I didn't opt for the tasting menu, I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary appetizers served alongside the drinks, as well as the delightful sweet bites accompanying my coffee (I initially thought they were part of the tasting menu). The quality-price ratio is commendable. However, I'm withholding a 5-star service rating due to the unfriendly head waiter, who struggled to address my inquiries about certain dishes. Nevertheless, I fully intend to return.

The location is quite breathtaking, we had to spend some minutes around the restaurant before going in. From the beginning when we entered the restaurant, the staff were friendly yet professional. We had the tasting menu and to make it easy opted for the wine pairing. The food was amazing, there was always some surprises - good surprises. The wine pairing was a bit wild, it started with red wine went to white and went back again to red to port wine to white. What an experience!

We came here for a mid week lunch and the food, service and atmosphere was top notch. Firstly the views from here are amazing as they overlook A Coruña and the sea. Two of us opted for the €65 tasting menu which was excellent value and since one of my friends was sick, they were accommodating and let him do al a carte. I enjoyed the small touches like a welcome drink and the multiple snacks, followed by 4 dishes, 2 desserts and petit fours. I highly recommend visiting when in A Coruña!

Great experience. Excellent food. Outstanding service. Wonderful location. And what was incredible is the price of the 5 courses + appetizers tasting menú. Honestly, for this price in, let's say Norway or UK, you might be able to eat a hamburger with a beer. Here you are enjoying high class cuisine in a fabulous place. Highly recomendable!
Javier U — Google review
We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu, which was plenty of food for me. I misunderstood the first flight of four tastes, which was actually one course, so i wish that had been more obvious, but not a problem. The food was impeccable and paired nicely with a Galician white wine. Reserve in advance and call the morning of your reservation. Bonus:The absolute best views of la Coruña.

1) It was freezing to the point it was really uncomfortable 2) The appointed waiter disappeared after the main order 3) the food was very disappointing (I generally love sea urchin and the one served here was disgusting - I also had better bread in taverns). I'm leaving the restaurant hungry because I could barely eat anything decent. The only thing I can recommend are the dessert wines (Porto, Madeira and PX) I can't wait to have dinner at home this evening!

From 2023 - 2 stars Unfortunately a mundiña has lost its old charm and quality. We were disappointed in our last visit with both the food and the service. The salpicón was good but worse than it used to be, the arroz caldoso de mariscos was too salty and had many grains of sand, the cañita missed crema in 1/3 of it, etc. It seems that there was a change in ownership which might explain things. ——— From 2017 - 5 stars One of the best restaurants in La Coruña! Awesome salpicón de marisco, navajas, meat, fish, etc. Good wine selection. Every time I come to La Coruña I try to come to la mundiña.

Avoid at all costs – tourist trap with terrible food and bad service. We ordered their “famous” soupy rice with lobster and it was hands down the worst thing I’ve eaten in all of Spain. Before ordering, we specifically asked if the lobster could be served deshelled because we didn’t want to deal with the hassle. The server assured us it would be easy. It was NOT. It was frustrating, messy, and nearly impossible to get the meat out. To make things worse, there were small sharp pieces of shell mixed into the rice – nothing like biting down on shards of shell to ruin a meal. And the rice? It tasted like spoonfuls of pure salt. My tongue was burning from how salty it was. We later learned they usually crack open the lobster shell for you but didn’t this time. When we voiced our concerns, a man (I assume the manager or owner) came over—not to apologize or try to make things right—but to smugly tell us that “everything tastes fine.” This is clearly the kind of place where the customer is never right, no matter how valid the complaint. His condescending tone made the whole experience even worse. For the outrageous price they charge, this was absolutely not worth it. It’s overpriced, underwhelming, and screams “tourist trap.” We left feeling completely ripped off and insulted. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else.

This is such a good restaurant in the heart of the city. Quality of seafood is exceptional and they cook it with great care not spoiling the fresh product. Visitors can also enjoy beer tastings in the rooftop bar, including beer and cheese pairings. The tour is led by knowledgeable guides who share the brewery's rich history and brewing techniques with infectious enthusiasm, making it an educational yet enjoyable experience.
A fantastic museum experience that will undoubtedly prove to be interesting even to non-beer drinkers. Educational and interactive, the exhibit provides an extensive journey through the history of Estrella Galicia along with the production process of their beers. We opted for the self-guided visit and we couldn’t recommend it more. We went on our own pace through the museum and having went on a Tuesday afternoon, we had the whole place to ourselves. To top it all off, we got to enjoy a beer of our choice along with some tasty potato chips at the end of the tour. What a fantastic day!

The museum is well laid out showing the process of Estrella Galicia beer origins and beer making in general, but most specifically Estrella Galicia. They spared no expense in the creation of the museum. It's best to do your own tour through the museum and at the end you can order flights of the various beers at their upstairs beer bar. Definitely worth the visit. A tour guide is optional but not necessary. Be sure to ask for audio in your language if you don't speak Spanish.

The museum is nice. It tells you about the family that began the beer brand Estrella Galicia. Which has been going on for over 100 years. Pros: the people that work there are very nice. Very knowledgeable. Tickets are easy to buy...€17 adults and €11 children without guide. You can either buy them at the door or online. My advice to buy online and choose your time (hourly increments) There are also guides packages that you can buy with added extras. See website. Cons: We've been to another beer museum (which I will not mention here and entrance fee was 9 euros more expensive.) which was diverse. They had a live act and a band. They let you taste their various beers and at the end you had a free beer of your choice. This is not to take away from the experience we had here though and maybe they have a different idea on what you want to take away. I'm proud to be Galician! I'm proud of our territory, our major brands but most of all our people who never give up. Cons

Another major brewery ticked off for us. Plenty to see in the Museum of Estrella Galicia. 7 different areas including advertising, bottling, growing etc. Great little shop at the end as well as a bar and restaurant at the top.

Simple to book on-line. Originally the start time was 14:00 but was then changed to 17:00 which was no problem. Arrived about an hour early and were allowed in as soon as we arrived. Very pleasant & professional staff. Quite a warm day so the beer at the end was very welcome :-) We booked the self guided tour but if I visit again I will be booking the tour that included the various beers & cheeses. A very pleasant & interesting tour.

Great museum about the history of the Estrella Galicia beer brand. There are some interactive exhibits and at the end of the tour you can have a beer-tasting experience.

Great tour and very impressive, if on a cruise ship just do it on your own the cheese and beer tasting was only 37 euros and if you want to take a local bus it is no 11 about 5 minute walk from Cruise Terminal and only 2 Euros

Tapas bar
Mesón El Serrano is a lively venue in the heart of Coruna, offering Galician tapas and a selection of wines. The restaurant is known for its delicious croquettes with air-dried beef and Galician O Cebreiro cheese, as well as tasty squid rolls. The atmosphere is pleasant, although it can get noisy at times. While the food is excellent and the service attentive, some guests have found the portion sizes to be smaller than expected.
We walked past the restaurant during lunch time and was surprised by the queue outside. Tried to get in the same night but it was full! We tried again the next day, and so glad we did. The restaurant has nice decor. The food was very delicious. And then we ended the meal with some yummy cheesecake.

This is a classy place with exceptional service and wonderful food. All themed on Galician classics with a twist here and there. The wine list is also good and not too expensive. The atmosphere is also great, certainly on the smarter end of things, think a nice evening meal out with your family or friends.

Awesome food! And the service out of this world. We arrived and they said they could give us only an hour to eat as we did not have a reservation but the waiter was to thoughtful and nice he explained everything and recommended the best dishes. The calamari and shrimps were the best. On the pricey side, around 30 per person if you want to get full
Mateo S — Google review
We tried several dishes and we can just say that it was very yummy. Especially the spanish omelette. Service outstanding and very efficient. The only contra the value for the price which would be 5/10. 9€ for 5 croquettes of the size of my little finger, not even 6pcs (we were two). In the picture it looks much bigger, be aware that it is super small in size. 19€ for 8 meatballs of the size of a dice. In the picture looks much bigger too. We literally felt robbed. If you do not order the above mentioned two dishes would be 5/5.

Managed to get a last minute table for two and had some really wonderful local dishes. Service was attentive and very good at explaining everything on the menu, and the food itself was delicious. Get the bread too, you'll want to mop up all the rich sauces. Highly recommend this spot.

Very delicious! We ordered half of chipirones, half of gambones curjientes, pulpo and coultant, everything taste so nice! And the service is so kind and quick. Next time we go again, we want to try tortilla de patata!

I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant located in the center of Coruña. However, our enjoyment was hindered by a large and noisy table nearby, making it challenging for us to have a conversation. On the positive side, the food was excellent, and the waiters were incredibly helpful. Although our dishes didn't arrive simultaneously, it seemed to be their serving style. Overall, a good option for delicious food and attentive service, albeit with some minor inconveniences.
Beat R — Google review
I find it hard to find a good restaurant in the center of Coruña, there's a lot of places, but some are way over priced and others seem to be too touristic, loosing the feeling for the traditional Galicia cusine. Serrano was recommended by a local friend, the quantity is good, the taste and service were excellent, and we paid a reasonable price, around 60€ for two, with wine. I recommend the Salpicón de Rape.

the place is gorgeous, generally speaking. but when it comes to details, there are so many issues... cleaning process must be reviewed (tables smell like fermented beer, not to comment the restrooms), and the crew seems to hate their jobs. the food was good.

We came in and asked for a table of 2 to eat. Because we had our dog with us they told us to sit at the terras at the front and that the kitchen opened in half an hour. All fair so far. We waited for maybe 15 minutes thinking we were already forgotten but when another person sat at the table nearby they immediately got serviced. As the waiter passed us by we called out to order drinks. We were also brought plates. As our drinks finally got served I noticed that the kitchen would have opened so we immediately asked for the menu. After another 10 minutes I went inside to ask for the cart. I barely sat down when they came to ask what we wanted. We asked for 2 minutes to have a chance to look at the cart. After 5 minutes waiting and not really convinced with our meal choices we decided to look for another place to eat. Maybe it was because they thought we only spoke english (I do but my boyfriend doesn't and they heard that after we ordered drinks) but that doesn't excuse the absence of service. Would definitely not recommend unless you want to waste an hour and still leave hungry.

The view is absolutely beautiful! If you get a table close to the window, you get to see all the beach. The food is good, a bit expensive and with small size portions. You are paying for the view more than for the quantity or quality. But if you want to have a meal with a nice view, this is the best place to do so!

Lively wine bar and restaurant serving good tapas and portions ready to share. Selected wine list at a very good prices and expert advice by the sommelier. Friendly service. A must when in Coruña. Booking is mandatory to get a table but I also enjoy just getting in and try to find my place at the counter.

Really wonderful wine bar 🍷 located in a beautiful and characteristic area of A Coruña. The staff there is very friendly, however you need to insist sometimes to get the attention if you are sit outside 😅. Big variety of wines and short menu (which is a good thing). Experience the charm of Jamonería La Leonesa, a traditional tapas bar located at Calle Santo Domingo 2. Indulge in a glass of wine and savor the exquisite carved-to-order ham, priced at approximately 8/6.60. For those on-the-go, simply request a delicious bocadillo roll to enjoy during your journey home. This authentic establishment captivates with its rich flavors and meticulous meat and cheese sampler for two people.
Beautiful atmosphere and great typical products, specifically iberian cold cuts, cheeses, and wines.
Emanuele P — Google review
OMG. I’ve never used the word orgasmic in a review before but these hams are just that! We got the ham plate for two (large size) and a cheese plate. The soft cheese is a perfect accompaniment to the ham if you make a sandwich with the bread. The hard cheese is like parmigiana and is very good but we found it to be better as a side than mixed with the meat. An Estrella is perfect drink as it helps cut through the richness of the hams. Every type of meat was great. The restaurant has about 12 tables with hams hanging everywhere. If you’re into sliced hams and such this is the place to be! Limited seating for large groups.
Mark P — Google review
Wonderful! This is a busy place and can be very crowded on a Friday night. There is a line to find a place but it seemed far more chaotic. If there are no free tables, be sure to tell the folks behind the counter that you are waiting. Once seated service was quick but they were very busy. We had the mixed meat and cheese plate for the table. Every bite was spectacular.

I really like this place!! It is very traditional!! We tried the meat and cheese sampler for 2 ppl and we love it, the flavors were really good (they made all the cuts at the moment so that keep the flavors on point) It is a good place for some tapas, a beer and the region wine! The service was really fast and the staff very kind (they explain to you all the options) Prices are also good.

Our group (of 9 people) had a truly terrible dining experience. Three of us ordered the Missy bagel/burger, and it was nothing short of disgusting. The taste was so bad I could barely swallow half of it. A colleague, curious to see if it was as awful as we described, tried a bite only to spit it out immediately – it was completely inedible. The rest of the meals were just as disappointing. Must of us left the plates barely touched because the food was simply dreadful. The flavours were bland at best and outright offensive at worst. None of us could believe how bad it was, and frankly, it was one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. We definitely won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal.

One of the best places we've tried in the city. Great food, good atmosphere, nice service. Dog friendly. Good vegetarian and vegan options.
A. O — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. By the reviews it seemed to offer something different than the typical platter of brown stuff which tends to be Spanish restaurant food. The interior is charming and cozy, and they allow dogs which is great. However, the staff was quite brusque, and what’s worse, the food is not good. The menu itself is confusing - why does the “Thai” burger have cesar salad sauce? Why does the salmon gravlax bagel have lettuce and jalapeño sauce? Why are there two types of tartars? It doesn’t make sense to me. I had trouble deciding but went with the egg dish. It came out without bread initially, so it seemed to be a kind of gloopy gravy soup, but not. Very odd. We had to ask for bread but that didn’t help much. The chef-owner was chatting with a nearby table and asked me how I liked the food, I guess because I’d barely touched mine. I explained my issues (politely, I hope), but the meal was not comped as it should have been if she actually cared. My husband’s “baos” did not resemble baos in taste or appearance. I see this in Spanish “modern” restaurants - they have these quasi international, trendy items and ingredients but the execution is off. I was hoping for more veggie options, but there weren’t many. Nice place though and the deserts looked good.
Lauren — Google review
The meal I ordered was €9,50 on the menu and they then charged me €13,70 on the bill because I “sat on the terrace”. I am used to paying €1-2 extra to sit on the terrace, but am always provided with the bill that has the terrace price so I know the cost when I choose this. In addition to this €4,20 is an obscene overcharge. The food tasted fine, but 100% not worth the money. Would not ever return. In addition to this, the terrace tables are right next to a bin and there was vomit on the ground 2m from my table.
Genna G — Google review

The park is teeming with life; young children play while visitors stroll around admiring the old trees and stunning architecture. The Gardens regularly host events such as the Feria del Libro or Feria de Artesanos.

In addition to their signature churros, they also offer tasty potato chips fried in olive oil. Visitors can enjoy a cozy seating area and friendly staff while indulging in this delightful treat.

It's a shame. We couldn't enjoy some churros with chocolate because the waitresses were focused literally kicking out people, apparently they close at 13:00 which is fair (although everywhere on internet they close at 13:30), the way they treated us as well as some other customers it's a total shame.

I went with my young nephew for churros. I explained to the waitress that the boy had a severe lactose allergy. She assured me that the dough contained zero milk products and they also had lactose free chocolate. So we ordered. The boy had an instant allergic reaction after just trying a bit. Either his chocolate was contaminated, or he was given the wrong one or Bonilla's lactose-free isn't lactose free. I told the waitress and asked for water, but she want interested as it she was "busy with customers". I will be making a formal complaint to Consumo and Sergas

Nestled in the heart of A Coruña, Casa Museo María Pita is a captivating tribute to the city's legendary heroine who bravely defended against English forces led by Francis Drake in the 16th century. This museum occupies a historic residence that once belonged to María Pita's first husband, Xoan Alonso de Rois. Visitors can explore multiple levels filled with fascinating historical reconstructions and archives that vividly depict daily life during this era.
Excellent venue for aspiring artists.

We very much missed the accounting of the historic event Maria Pita was heroically involved in plus the fact that the boards showed explanations in Galician language only. Nevertheless the museum was very much nice to see and enjoy. A must-see for city history lovers or enthusiasts

Great place telling a story of a great heroine. Definitely worth a visit. And the views from the top floor are nice too.

It's okay, at least it's free, but it's not really that informative about Maria Pita or the historical context she lived in. The building just happens to be on the same location of her house, but it's not her house.

The house is CLOSED on weekends, holidays, and MONDAYS for rest. Admission is FREE. I've read many comments complaining that the signs are only in Galician, but I must warn that for those of us who don't speak the language, the reception desk provides audio guides in several languages, including Spanish and English. Regarding complaints about the elevator, I must admit that it worked in our case, and the people who welcomed us explained what we could see on each floor. Orzán Beach, also known as Playa del Orzan, is one of the main beaches in A Coruna, located on Riazor Bay. It faces out towards the ocean and is a popular spot for surfers due to its large waves and lifeguard supervision. The beach stretches along the sunny coast and is easily accessible from the city, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. In addition to sunbathing, visitors can explore tiny coves with sandy beaches nearby.
If You love City beaches then take a look at this. Surfing, Beach sports. Cycling. Pools and amazing views also by the Deportivo Football Stadium. An amazing City. Food/Drink and so friendly. Recommended.

Ever stumble on a beach that feels like it’s got a heartbeat? Orzán in A Coruña is that place—waves crashing like they’re telling you to kick off your shoes and join the party. I spent an afternoon here, and the mix of surfers riding the swells and families building sandcastles just pulls you in. The golden sand stretches wide, and at dusk, the sky turns into a painting you can’t stop staring at. Locals whisper that Picasso used to splash around here as a kid in the 1890s, dodging waves with his pals. My tip? Grab a café con leche from a nearby chiringuito and stroll the promenade—trust me, it’s the best free show in town. Watch the tides if you swim; they can be sneaky. No tickets, just show up and let Orzán steal your heart.
Petr K — Google review
Easily accessible and popular among locals and travelers . During summer this beach sometimes have lots of tourists. The beach stretches on the sunny coast, within the boundaries of the settlement, it is not difficult to get to it. If your stay is located not far from the beach, you can reach it by walking or using public transportation. If you are traveling by car just use your navigator plus the area is sorrounded by hostels to stay... The water is very clear blueish and mostly cold or medium in temp.. it is also famous for surfing... You can also do overnight relaxation because it is sorrounded by lights so it is SAFE...

Excellent beach! It truly does have sparkling sand! The waves offer you a lot of fun, with a surf board or without Very safe, the crowd is local and very good The beach is clean and well kept There is a chemical toilet on the beach, and showers to rinse off the sand. It is a stones throw from the city centre

Museum
The Fine Arts Museum in A Coruña is a treasure trove of Spanish art, showcasing pieces from the 19th century to contemporary works. Notably, it features masterpieces by Goya and highlights the artistic evolution of Pablo Picasso during his time in A Coruña. Currently, visitors can explore exhibitions that delve into Picasso's legacy and the influence of this vibrant city on various artists. The museum itself is housed in a beautifully restored former Capuchin convent, adding to its charm.
Really nice visit; a beautiful little cultural beacon, just a few minutes walk from the Praza de Maria Pita. Free admission. Easy to spend an hour or two wandering about due to the diversity of the works shown; included was an interesting Goya collection. I enjoy 'hidden' gems such as this one, and found a couple of new favorites!
A.L. P — Google review
Amazing collection of many beautiful paintings, I especially enjoyed the 19th and 20th century section. The Goya room is an interesting look into engraving and the temporary installation of Rubens’ paintings of various myths cannot be missed! (January - December 2025) It is special that there are so many paintings by artists from the region, from Asturias too, and a fair few from A Coruña itself. Foldable seats available for those needing to rest, elevators available inside. Well-price and small gift shop with pretty hand fans, books, T-shirts, bookmarks and tote bags
Ali — Google review
Interesting local museum of Galician and national Spanish artists. Its free so no need to get a ticket, only has limited English interpretation via a leaflet - but Google translate is your friend. The temporary exhibition space is large and about a third of the museum overall so do check out what's on. There isn't a cafe but there a plenty of good options nearby.
John F — Google review
A treasure. Free entry, even for special exhibitions. They have a great collection of early Sargadelos pieces, plus tons if Goya etchings that are absolutely worth seeing. The Sorolla exhibition had few paintings but did include absolutely fascinating sketches that I would have loved to continue examining in a catalog. The 20th century artworks give a nice overview of Galician artists. A handful are represented in catalogs in the small but nice gift shop. The staff was kind and the museum is spacious and comfortable to walk, not too overwhelming in scale but definitely worth a visit.

Pleased I could get in a visit on a Sunday. Thought I needed a couple of hours but managed to visit in about an hour. Bonus as it was free entry. All descriptions in Spanish and QR codes takes you to webpage that can be translated. But the audio guide for highlighted pieces are in Spanish. Enjoyed the ground and top floor exhibitions most which had the sculptures and modern art respectively. Lovely to see several artists present drawing the sculptures. Staff are helpful. Lockers available plus umbrella stand which you can secure your brolly. Has a tiny shop with merchandise and art postcards, umbrellas, and bookmarks etc. for sale. Toilets were pristine.

Very nice museum , worth a quick visit, in display Goya's print and Sargadelos China collection. Has a good collection that covers Flemish to Galician painters, even a large format Sorolla. Entrance is free, so like I said even just to enjoy the building is worth a quick visit. Well adapted for handicapped

A wide range of styles and eras with good representation of Spanish artists. The galleries are spacious and bright with plenty of room to stand back, admire and take one's time. A very amusing display of Goya engravings also add to the enjoyment of a visit to this museum. In addition there are displays about the history of coinage, the Madrid art collection of Philip IV, and several modern sculptures.

Good music and the terrace is nice. I have been there twice. The first time we were 5 people and we had all our winter jackets on the shelf around the sides of the room. Most people did, but we were at a table so it wasn’t bothering anyone but us. No one said anything. I went again on Thursday for my birthday and bought shisha and many drinks. We had our jackets in the same place beside us, not bothering anyone for 4 hours. All of a sudden a tall bald black man came over and started shouting at us for having our jackets there, he was extremely rude. We had spent so much money there and because of this, we immediately left. He also shouted at my boyfriend because he accidentally went into the ladies and instead of just telling him nicely where the mens was, he got mad. They lost service, money and we won’t go again. Such a shame because all the other staff were lovely, he is the problem. Sort it out!!

(Translated by Google) We went on New Year's Eve and the truth is that the attention is horrible. We were a group of 8 people of more than 30 who wanted to remember the times of the previous beach and when we arrived at the bar we asked if with the entry of a drink we could order two beers (something they do in other places such as inn club) and the guy said yes... So my friend and I ordered two beers. A girl serves it to us and tells us that it is a ticket per beer. So we told him that for that we prefer a drink... Well, he spoke terribly to us, he told us that he already opened the beers and that it couldn't be changed anymore and he didn't continue serving us. I believe that these types of incidents or misunderstandings are not the client's fault, but rather the poor organization or communication between them. Thank you very much, but if you consider the blonde girl on the left to be a professional, I will tell you that the audience looks burned out. Thanks, we won't be back. Gracias, no volveremos.

Wonderful cocktail bar, the atmosphere, the bartender with good English, the free water which was very appreciated (and in general the personal touch of the bartender was very pleasant, he was very approachable) and of course the cocktails were actually very good! I've been to other cocktail bars here and their drinks are full of sugar and impossible to drink. This was finally a good cocktail place with quality drinks that I would love to come back to
