The Grand Pier in Weston Super Mare is a renowned landmark that offers a classic seaside experience. It features an array of attractions, including indoor rides, arcade games, and a funfair at the end of the pier. Visitors can also enjoy treats like candy floss and ice cream while taking in the scenic views of the sea and beach. The pier's grand pavilion houses various entertainment options, from slot machines to a ghost train called the 'Castle of Doom'.
The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare is a great place for a fun day out. There’s something for everyone, whether you're visiting with family, friends, or just looking for a bit of seaside nostalgia. The arcade games and rides inside are a big hit with kids and adults alike. There’s a nice mix of classic games and modern attractions, including a small indoor roller coaster and a 4D cinema. The pier also has places to grab a bite to eat, from tasty fish and chips to sweet treats like donuts and ice cream. The views out to sea are lovely, especially on a clear day, and walking along the pier gives you that classic British seaside experience. It’s clean, well-kept, and has a lively, friendly atmosphere. Overall, the Grand Pier is a fun and affordable way to spend a few hours by the sea. A must-visit if you're in Weston-super-Mare! Parking can be found opposite the pier on the main road or in the town. Free motorcycle parking down the main road on the beachfront. Free toilets in the pier, but the pier is £2 each to enter. Well worth it!

We had an amazing time at The Grand Pier and Weston-super-Mare! The beach was lively with so much to do rides, food stalls, ice cream, and activities for everyone. The sand was absolutely amazing and so soft, perfect for relaxing or playing with the kids. We stayed to watch the sunset, which was phenomenal! The only downsides were that the water was quite dirty and stayed far out most of the day, only coming closer around 6 in the evening. Overall though, it was such a fun and memorable day out. Definitely worth a visit
Maria H — Google review
I wish they had a sunny beer terrace on the top floor of the pier—it would make a huge difference. Watching the sunset with a beer in hand is the kind of memorable experience people come back for. Many piers in California offer that, and it really elevates the visit. I also noticed a few loose floorboards that caused someone to stumble, so hopefully those get fixed sooner rather than later.
Evgeny N — Google review
To be honest I feel that charging people to enter the pier at £2 per person is a bit cheeky. However as it was summer holidays there was free face painting and kids characters walking about for photo opportunities so I guess this paid for itself. I took the children to the dinosaur soft play but it wasn’t particularly dino themed, they got bored easily as not the biggest play area. Arcades are large and varied, plenty of toilets dotted about. I chose not to eat so can’t comment on the food. I would say it’s ok to kill a few hours on maybe a rainy day.
Michael C — Google review
The rides were great fun, and the wristband offers good value for unlimited rides. Just be aware that go-karting requires closed-toe shoes—so no sandals! The 2p machines were entertaining but a bit stingy with the prizes. Also, the £2 initial entrance fee to the pier feels a little steep, especially if you're just planning a short visit. It was a great way to spend time together and make some happy memories.
Peter A — Google review
Day out to Weston Supermare and a wander down the pier. £2 entry through turnstiles. Lovely walk - or there’s a free train- we came back on the train being big kids, or rather we were full from a delicious lunch at Tiffany’s. Great views out to sea - tide was out so it was mostly sand! Played on a few machines in the arcade but didn’t win anything!
Roz M — Google review
Got loads to do for kids and big kids! Tickets in advance save you time when you get there. We bought the £30 wristbands which are well worth it if you're planning on spending the full day there, but if adults aren't going on or in anything paying £2 to get in might be the better one if you're mainly there for the amusements
KTY — Google review
£2 to enter and then be prepared - if you have kids - to pump endless 2ps into the machines to win assorted tat worth about 30p. But if you like amusements then you've a good selection for when the rain inevitably pours. The pier itself is well maintained and I guess the £2 entry fee goes towards keeping the structure going, so that's something. Provides great views back over WSM and also a photogenic location for sunsets. Worth a visit if you're walking the seafront, which itself has been much improved over recent years.

Pub
Bar
Restaurant
Nestled just a short stroll from the sandy shores of Weston-super-Mare, The Criterion is a charming traditional British pub that exudes warmth and character. Renowned for its impressive selection of real ales and fine ciders, this beloved establishment has earned its place in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide on two occasions. With a cozy ambiance enhanced by a crackling open fire during the colder months, it’s an inviting spot to unwind.
If you're not a local, or not following the Cask Marque Ale Trail, you are going to miss this place - and that will be to your disadvantage. The atmosphere in this tucked away local tavern, is the definition of good cheer, geniality and bonhomie. Off the beaten track, it is easily missed and those wishing to experience an atmosphere of genuine cordiality, miss something that the English pub is all about. This is just the place where I would bring American, or any foriegn tourist to see an ideal version of how we do things in Britain - I just wish every local pub was like this and I also wish it was my local. Those with an interest in history, will be interested to know this is one of the oldest buildings in the town. The late Victorian building eventually evolved over the years from a lodging house into a pub. The interior has some regional importance being almost unchanged since the time, the main interest being the impressive old curved counter and the fine mirrored bar-back. Snacks are available and the free cheese and nibbles on the counter on Sundays, is not so often seen now-a-days. And, being on the Cask Marque Ale Trail, the discerning imbiber can be assured of a perfect pint. This reviewers opinion of the Tribute (St.Austell Brewery 4.2%) was in perfect condition. K, the landlady, like many of the patrons, was affable and interested in any new faces. Well worth more than just another visit.
Chris S — Google review
What a great pub, proper old type place. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Staff were friendly and polite. This is how a pub should be. Enjoyed my visit.
Paul P — Google review
A little gem of a pub located behind the main stretch of the seafront, often missed. Obviously a locals pub but definitely a good thing. The landlord has a keen eye for quality and service which reflects in the beer and service on offer. Very friendly environment and welcoming. They have events and entertainment on offer. I would thoroughly recommend popping in! I'm very glad I have
Harvey B — Google review

Nestled in the picturesque Somerset countryside, just a stone's throw from Weston-super-Mare, Puxton Park is an all-weather adventure haven that spans 40 acres of fun and excitement. Open nearly every day of the year, this family-friendly destination offers a plethora of activities to keep visitors entertained regardless of the weather. From adrenaline-pumping playgrounds and challenging assault courses to tranquil boat rides on the lake, there's something for everyone at Puxton Park.
I remember taking my older children here some years ago and then enjoying it. Return today with my youngest and she absolutely loved it. The whole Park feels very fresh and clean and there are lots more attractions than I remember. The soft play and slides are very well maintained And thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. The farm zoo has lots of animals and you can buy feed for them. We went on the train ride and tractor ride both included in the price. I was particularly impressed with the crazy golf. The sculptures of the octopus and whale were very impressive and you could see a lot of love had gone into creating this attraction. We had a late lunch in the restaurant which was very tasty and good value. The farm shop is well stocked and has a lovely butchers. It would definitely come again.
Paul G — Google review
Considering it was a bank holiday and half term, we found our experience rather disappointing and dull. No staff on the crazy golf, look like they have built a new one but that was locked off and the old one, well, no staff, no balls and rather tatty. The coffee at the soft play restaurant was like dishwater. The kids enjoyed the soft play, bumper boats, and the bouncing pillows, which, to be honest, a long way to travel and costly just for that. boating lake open, either. Animal talk was very good. Got to see a touch a boa constrictor, a lizard, and a mouse like creature. The animal handling staff were very knowledgeable and interacted with the children well. The farm shop was amazing. We got there at 1130 and were out of options by 1500. Ended up back in soft play, which, to be honest, could have done that locally. A lot of money for what it is. I had a sandwich, which was £3.50 and a children's meal was about £6. Will not be going again, sadly. Park needs some TLC in places. Staff were very helpful and friendly 🙂
Sammyg X — Google review
Puxton Park is an absolutely fantastic place for a day out and I cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was welcoming and exciting. The car park is huge and completely free which makes things so much easier and stress free. Once inside there is so much to do for all ages. My personal favourite was the water bumper ride which had me laughing and getting soaked in the best way possible. I could have stayed on it all afternoon. I also loved feeding the animals. They are clearly well cared for and very friendly. There are goats alpacas sheep and many more and you can get up close which is such a fun experience. The indoor play area is massive and full of activities to keep children entertained for hours. Outside there are brilliant adventure playgrounds climbing frames and open spaces to run around. The tractor rides and the little train are perfect for taking a break while still enjoying the park. There is also a lovely café that serves tasty and reasonably priced food and drinks which is perfect for a pit stop. Everywhere is clean and well looked after and the staff are friendly and helpful. Puxton Park is one of those places where time flies because there is so much to see and do. Whether you are visiting with family friends or just want a fun day surrounded by animals and activities it is worth every penny. I am already looking forward to going back and enjoying it all over again.
Ayyub C — Google review
Absolutely fantastic. Paid one entry free which was less than other parks around, paid £45 for a family of 4 (I had a blue light discount), and it was worth every penny. There are so many attractions that are included, didn’t pay a penny for anything besides an ice cream. There’s paddle boats, train, high ropes (and smaller one for littler children), and huge soft play, and lots more too. We spent the whole day interacting with animals and playing. It was clean and well looked after, staff were pleasant and friendly and animals seemed happy and well looked after. Absolutely brilliant, will be returning soon.
Abi B — Google review
Great amusements, combined with animals, a small indoor zoo, a mini train, a mini Jeep ride, a massive play barn for all child ages, a cafe, restaurant, shop, picnic areas, a hedge maze, playgrounds including a giant bouncy pillow thing, boats, high rope activity, friendly staff, family safe environment. WiFi is available free of charge but limited phone signal. I particularly liked the new crazy golf, amazingly creative and attractively done. Really good job everyone!!! (So much there that I've probably forgotten something!)
E P — Google review
Brilliant place to visit with family of all ages. I went with a group of 14 and all ages really enjoyed it, the train ride, park and the soft play area were really good. Different selection of animals to see and for £1 you can get a bag of animal feed to feed some of the animals with, an interesting and ticklish experience for some of the kids! :) We also purchased some fresh milk and also chocolate flavoured which was very tasty!
R A — Google review
Fantastic day out, I came with my 4 and 5 year olds and they were kept well entertained for 7 hours. They loved feeding the animals, enjoyed the interactive animal shows in the barn. I feel that the place offers great value for money. Only thing I would add is some seating area around the air bouncers, it gets very busy there and people tend to sit on the grass, would be nice to have benches etc and maybe a picnic area there. This was my second visit and should we return to the Weston area will definitely be visiting again.
Michael C — Google review
A Fantastic Day Out for All Ages! We had such an amazing time at Puxton Park! We went with a group of adults and kids, and there was so much to do that everyone was entertained. It's not just a park for the little ones; the adults had just as much fun getting involved in all the activities. Slided can give you adrenaline too. Outdoor Splash games are nice as well. From the moment we arrived, the kids were off on an adventure. The range of things to do is incredible—the massive indoor play barn, the high ropes course, and the pedal go-karts were huge hits. There’s a real sense of adventure throughout the whole park, and we loved that it got the kids running around and trying new things. The little farm was amazing, there are more cute, animals 🦜 our favourite was the Amazon parrot wich was imitating a crying baby calling her mom , so cute. We have bought a fresh Tbone steak from farm shop at the exit, it was amazing 🥩 there's also fresh cow milk from the machines and a small souvenir shop I can't recommend Puxton Park enough. It’s a perfect mix of thrilling activities, animal encounters, and just good old-fashioned fun. We'll definitely be back soon!

Weston Museum, established in the mid-19th century, is dedicated to preserving the historical memory of Weston-super-Mare and its surroundings. The museum showcases archaeological finds dating back almost 400 million years and presents a succession of historical exhibitions spanning different periods up to the present day.
This was an insightful museum to visit, delving into the economic drivers of Weston-Super-Mare throughout time! One section has old railway signage and talks about how the train connectivity brought more money into the town, a boat is shown separately from its industrial heydays. The former Donkey Chair taxi and a model of Weston in the 1960's are unique additions, shopping history is also delved into as the prominent items are touched on and the town's post-World War 2 period. Tourism's impact is another key point even incorporating outfits here, love the puppet theatre attraction as well!

We had an amazing time today at Western Museum. We travelled over to you especially to see the Paul Kidby Discworld exhibition and it was a tremendous experience. The whole museum is brilliant also! The guys at the desk were very friendly and chatty. There’s also a small free car park opposite which was great

Visited Weston for a day and saw this on my last few hours. Clara's cottage was my favourite part - seeing how life was illustrated in a home in the 1900s. Very nice doll collection by Peggy Nisbet. Also, more local history about Weston and its development upstairs. I would recommend seeing this museum before you've done anything else, to get a grasp of the history of the area.
Brim Z — Google review
This was an intetesting local museum with an eclectic mix of things to see, including a house. It also has a small shop, cafe and events space.
Karen B — Google review
I am a MASSIVE Terry Pratchett fan and always thought the covers and art was incredible. The descriptions and art so intertwined and clever. We travelled down from Stockport to Weston Super Mare for the Phil Kidby’s show at Weston Museum as saw a BBC article on it. SOOOOOOOOOO incredibly good and totally free! I was expecting a £10-20 entry, but no totes free. We spent an hour on the show and 40mins rest of the museum. His art is also being sold in the Museum shop. Parking straight across road too.
Emma W — Google review
A fantastic museum and completely FREE! We've visited a couple of times and they have lots of things for the children to look at. On our last visit they also had a Punch and Judy style puppet show of the 3 little pigs which the kids loved. If you're in the area the museum is well worth a visit.
Steven H — Google review
Lovely little museum with friendly staff. Details the history of weston from prehistoric times to modern day. Also has a cafe and an old fashioned cottage that you can look around for free. Beautiful little gem.
Louise J — Google review
We went to the museum during the midterm break. It was a little busy but we didn't have to wait. They had some exhibitions going on - Dr Who and a Renactment. It was really informative and the kids (4 year olds) had a great time. They specially liked Clara's Cottage. In the main museum, there were puzzles for them to arrange and a mini movie upstairs. There's also a little reading corner with few toys. It was a fun day out. They got tired so we didn't explore every bit of the museum so we'd be going back.

Loves Cafe, situated in Weston-Super-Mare, is a charming cafe and restaurant that has been serving delectable dishes and signature cocktails since 2009. The vibrant and bohemian space offers a cozy setting with comfortable sofas to enjoy tapas and cocktails like the English Garden and Orchard Pig. As a popular gig venue, it attracts music enthusiasts as well.

Nice cafe set on two levels with plenty of indoor seating. I didn’t have a booking but there was no problem accommodating me. Regularly changing menu, only feedback I would have is it’s a little limited on choice and every option involved a bread product this week which may not suit everyone. I went with the pesto mushrooms on sourdough, my goodness this was so mouthwateringly delicious! Decent sized portion, felt it was good value. Cold, hot and alcoholic drinks on offer. Accepts cards. Step free entrance to ground floor area and toilets also on this level. Dog friendly cafe. Staff friendly and welcoming. Loved the maps decorating the walls. Only open in the evening for special events.

"Loves Cafe is such a cozy and welcoming place in Weston-Super-Mare. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are always kind and attentive. The food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented – you can really taste the quality. Perfect spot for a relaxed meal or coffee with friends. Highly recommended!"

I honestly don't have a complaint in the world about this cafe, I've been several times now and it ticks every box. My non-vegan mother usually avoids non-dairy milk in favour of black coffee if there is no cow's milk option, but she says that the cappuccino here is the best she's ever had (vegan or otherwise!). The food is well portioned, very fairly priced and high quality. The venue itself often hosts events, which is evident in the ambiance. It's somewhat low-light and cozy, but could easily become a punk venue if it needed to be. There's not much like it in Weston, so it's a wonderful escape for those who don't generally fit into the area (though of course anyone would enjoy it). I'm glad to have a cafe like this in my area and can't wait for the next time!

Run, don’t walk, to Love’s Cafe! I love this place and want to go there every time I’m in Weston. Honestly some of the best food I’ve found in England. It is always fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious. I’ve had the roast, the full breakfast, the shakshuka, and the katsu curry- all incredible. Lovely atmosphere and Anna is so friendly and lovely. 🥰

Amazing food (super creative menu of home cooked brunch/lunch items, salads and incredible cakes), not just the standard British vegan options you get everywhere else!), friendly hosts and a welcoming, cosy atmosphere! I might come back to Weston just for this, it was worth the trip just on its own.

Perched above the sandy beach with stunning panoramic views of the Bristol Channel and Brean Down promontory, Revo Kitchen offers a diverse menu from breakfast to bedtime. The in-house bakery serves up an array of pastries, cakes, tarts, and more. In addition to brunch classics like Eggs Benedict and Smashed Avocado, there are options for dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan dishes.
Hubby and I are out and about most weekends delivering artwork around the UK. We often find great places to see, to visit and to get food. Last night we were staying over in Weston-Super-Mare and we ate at REVO KITCHEN, a fantastic spot, right on the beach, on STILTS! It had such a great vibe, and it was so laid back it was great! There was a huge variety of seating, you could get a beer, or coffee and cake, or even go full formal for a celebration dinner! Food was great, service was friendly and efficient and the views were fantastic! Dogs are welcome too and the feeling was so relaxed that all the dogs were really chilled out and so well behaved 😊 Definitely keeping this place on my radar for next time we’re down here 😎👌🏻

Fantastic food. Great service. Live music on Saturday, 7pm. We enjoyed it. Great place to watch the sunset, too, if it's not very cloudy. Toilet needs a little bit of cleaning every now and then per day.

We had to wait a bit for the food but all 4 meals were delicious 😋 we also had 2 puddings and shared them. The service was brilliant could not fault it. The views were fab too. Would definitely return if we're down that way again.

Lovely place and friendly staff. The pulled pork and eggs were delicious, would 100% have that again. I love they have a doggy menu, my pup was very happy with her scrambled eggs, a good size too, I wasn’t expecting as much as we were given! Love they have a basket of dog blankets and water available. Would definitely come here again!

Revo Kitchen is a restaurant which juts out over WSM's beach and offers good views of the beach and promenade. It is very popular with families and you can also bring pets there, which means it is a noisy restaurant a lot of the time. It is a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area. The food is good but the drink selection is poor. So good for groups but not so good for individuals looking for a quiet time.

Amazing service and food. Staff were super friendly and accomodating for a large walk in group (even though it was extremely busy) with a range of dietry needs. Gluten Free food choice was a wide range and tasted amazing. The dog loved her chicken served in a little pot. 10/10. Will be returning.

Popped in here for a drink on a sunday evening. They had a quiz going on at the time and all tables were filled. Lucky enough there was another room we could sit with drink which also had a pool table. Did want a game but the label with the price was warn and so we didnt know how much it cost and didnt really want to go back into the packed quiz room to ask.

"The Vaults" is a town center venue with a wine bar ambiance that also caters to real ale enthusiasts with a selection of creatively named brews from the local Pinkers Craft Brewery. The place can get quite busy, especially during special occasions like New Year's Eve, but it offers good customer service and live jazz music. While drinks may be pricier compared to out-of-town establishments, the experience of enjoying wines and beers along with delectable cheesecake makes it worth visiting.
We go to Vaults most weekends- Attentive friendly staff - great atmosphere - has entertainment - is cleanest bar in Weston 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Arguably Weston's most up-market nighttime option with an excellent selection behind the bar. Good food during the day too. I've been to a couple of events and special occasions here where it felt that they needed more overall thought to what went where and what would happen when. They need an event management-experienced person on staff

First time attending a performance at this theatre. Spotlessly clean. …. in the auditorium and the toilets. Helpful staff who were polite and extremely respectful. Please be aware mandatory bag searches are in place at point of entry. Bar on upper level and a smaller refreshment sales on the ground floor.disability access throughout..escorted lift to access the upper floor. Disabled toilets available. The seats were unexpectedly comfortable in the auditorium!!! To be honest we attended during one of the recent heatwaves and it was indeed extremely hot in the stalls where we were seated - air con may have been in place, however, had little impact on the heat (the heat was unprecedented so perhaps it couldn’t cope!) refreshments varied and reasonably priced. Parking was a little challenging.

This is a very good facility in the Town. It is of a suitable size and bring in a tourist town has a very good variety of shows both in the peak season and throughout the rest of the year. The theatre is accessible to wheelchairs with a lift the appropriate floor and a limited amount of wheelchair spaces. What is strange is the fact the theatre offers a disabled discount on the allocated enabled spaces only. The staff are very accommodating and helpful.

Fat Head Brewery & Taproom is a charming microbrewery nestled in the vibrant Grove Village area of Weston-super-Mare. This inviting spot not only brews its own unique beers but also showcases an impressive selection of locally crafted beverages, including spirits and non-alcoholic aperitifs from The Drinks Kitchen, as well as refreshing ciders. Visitors can indulge in delightful beer flights that highlight the brewery's offerings.
This was a lovely brewery for drinking, situated in a compact building with the brewing equipment out there to be seen to customers! The lightbulbs with curves between them and signs like Nobody Gets Out Sober create a quirky vibe, staff were welcoming and talkative too. I really liked how the beverages are listed in black and white lettering then their coasters are shown at the side, counter is presentable too even for sitting at! I tried one of the ciders which was as fresh as you would expect down south in Weston, area is very clean throughout.

Nice little taphouse with a good selection of ales. There were a couple of stout offerings the nitro stout was favourite for me. The food offering was great for a snack. Nice place usually - bar staff great. Steak took an hour and a half and was well done, not medium rare as ordered. No onion rings either as the menu promises. Had to scran as needed to catch a train but jaws aching from the steak still.

Lunch deal-not a deal at all. £8.50 per head for a smaller than child's portion. Egg overcooked and still served with the smallest loin of bacon/gammon I've ever seen. Could count the chips on the plate. Not a deal for the customer...a cut price deal for the profit making pub. Crap quality and tiny portions for the price. We could get 2 for £12/13 in most pubs and have a much better portion size.
Donna H — Google review
Just been for a meal before catching the train to Bristol, and really disappointed with the food. Ordered the Nachos for starter, and paid £4 extra for pulled pork and got a SPOONFUL of pulled pork !!! Asked for some more and was told that it comes in ‘ portions ‘ which i apparently had to accept !!!! Then the waitress bought out a tiny bowl of extra pulled pork and said this should have been on it in the first place !!! Then the main course, we noticed the curry was sat under the heat lamp for a good 10 mins, and mine and my husbands steak was supposed to sirloin steak, and it was a vile piece of chewy meat. We will NEVER return to this restaurant and now understand why it was so empty !!!

We went on a rainy day during our holiday. It is brilliant value for money and we learned so much. We even found a helicopter that had been built near our house. The staff were friendly and happy. Even our toddler loved it, especially getting to sit in a real helicopter.

Had a great day out at the Museum, reasonably priced, especially as we can return free for a year (excluding some special events) Lots of things to see with knowledgeable volunteers to make the experience even better. We ate at the museum, we had a bacon bap, with loads of bacon. A cheese and tomato toasties with lots of cheese (it was oozing out the sides) 😋 Tea and coffee in decent sized mugs. Very reasonably priced. The toilets were clean and modern. We could only stay for 4hrs, so we are coming back 😁

I thourly enjoyed the visit . I couldn't believe there was that many helicopters displayed in the warehouse,For a child's point of view other than looking at the helicopter and a small air themed play area out side I thought they would have had some helicopters that you could have got inside/ played in making the experience even better.

pretty good visit, for someone with more interest and willing to read everything about all the helicopters you could have a good half day out for good price and free return for almost a every day of the year, that makes it absolutely amazing value for someone that enjoys it and would like to return again and again for free for a year.

It was a truly insightful experience to see a helicopter up close. A highlight for me was getting to go inside a Russian Mi combat helicopter, a dream come true. I've been fascinated by Mi helicopters ever since I saw one in the movie Rambo. I also saw many impressive helicopters manufactured by Westland, including one that could carry up to 21 passengers. Seeing so many of these massive engineering marvels made me wonder: why did Westland stop making them?

The Weston Sand Sculpture Festival is a spectacular annual event that transforms the beach of Weston-super-Mare into a stunning gallery of sand art. Each year, talented sculptors from around the world gather to create over 30 intricate sculptures using just sand and water, showcasing their skills in a friendly competition where visitors can vote for their favorites. With new themes introduced annually, this festival has become a beloved highlight on Somerset's cultural calendar, attracting more than 5 million visitors each year.
Staff were really friendly and polite a refreshing change to some of the places I've been. The sculptures were absolutely amazing! The little competition for the best sculpture was a nice touch and the kids enjoyed having a voice and it really got them interested and feeling important enough to have an opinion that matter. (Some.kids may not have that in their young life) there is a small container with a video on how the sculptures were made but we couldn't stay in there for long as the temperature in there was breath taking. Over all a great experience for the kids, not massive and probably a little over priced for what you see and the very short time round but certainly worth the money with regards to a different talking point and experience for the kids. Thank you to all involved, especially the staff at the counter

It runs from march to October and is then bulldozed and work begins the following January ready for the next season . Artists from all over come to display this very unique skill Well worth the entrance fee 4 pound adults 3 pound child . Looking forward to next year's display .

Attended a funeral (booked at short notice). Had the private section, with a bar. Plenty of food served, both hot and cold. Selection was really lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient. Only downfall I'd the car park is just a bit too small. However, due to its location there was ample street parking without causing any nuisance to the locals. Great access to the main roads and motorway.

Very nice space! Came here for a lunch and it was very quiet and cozy. Love the new decor after they renovated everything, it makes the space a lot nicer and relaxing to be in. Would think it's very nice for a little family outing too, given the outdoor seating and fire pits out the back. Food was ok, nothing special or amazing but filling and good pricing for basically standard pub fare. Would definitely like to come back and try a Sunday roast here.

Our first visit to the Woolpack , definitely won't be our last . The food , service and atmosphere were amazing. First time in ages I've had an edible meal 😊 . The rest of our party equally enjoyed their meals. We came out to celebrate our granddaughters birthday, it didn't disappoint. Jamie ( — Google review
Although we have had a few bad experiences in the past, we decided that, after several years, it was time to give The Woolpack another try. Very glad we did! It was quite quiet when we visited, midweek late lunchtime, hence the slightly lower mark for atmosphere. Service was generally very good and the food was delicious. Nice to have a choice of menu which was somewhat different to the usual chain outlets. Not overpriced for what we had. We will certainly be back.
John C — Google review
Mixed. The prices were surprisingly good. Nearly everyone at the table said the food was 'ok'. Not great, not bad, just 'ok', when you're paying 'ok' prices, I guess you should accept 'ok' food? The issues were noise and heat. I think there was a Hen party behind us and boy were they loud. Too much colourful language for our tastes. I had a 9yr old and a 3yr old and they shouldn't have to listen to expletives every other second. Lastly, the heat, my god, every diner was complaining about how hot it was in there. It was crazy. In the smoking/vaping area most people just popped out to escape the heat. It was crazy stuffy. I'm sure you could set it to a nice 18/19 degrees? Overall, everything was ok but my god and would visit again but my God, please turn the heating down, literally everyone was complaining.

This is a classic old British pub with a modern flare. If you like your food, you will not be disappointed by the portion sizes. They are BIG. Staff here are friendly and on the right side of funny. It helps to create a pleasant atmosphere and they should be proud of this. There is one woman in particular that brings the atmosphere. She has her children working there also, and she is a delight. It's important to recognise such service. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a proper local with hearty food and an even heartier personality.

Just popped in on a sat afternoon i may. Was lovely. Very friendly and dog friendly in side and out plus have a lovely terrace over looking the sea with a bar

This was our first visit to Captains Cabin in a very long time, and we left the venue at the end of the evening agreeing we would definitely be back again soon. For anyone who has never been to the venue, from the outside you may think it is fairly small, but in true Tardis fashion once you walk through the main door the venue continuously opens up to bigger and bigger areas. On arrival you walk into a really nice-looking bar area with a pool table, with plenty of seats. The venue has a wide selection of beers, ales, wines and spirits and we were welcomed by a friendly lady behind the bar. After purchasing our drinks, we walked through the restaurant area before walking downstairs into an outside sun terrace. The sun terrace was big and has an amazing view across to Wales, the North Devon coast, Weston, and its surrounding areas. On an evening, the sunsets really are amazing and seeing is believing. There is also a well-stocked bar in the sun terrace so you can buy your drinks from here as well. After a drink we then decided it was time to proceed to the restaurant which was our main purpose for our visit. We were welcomed by a friendly gentleman who went through the menu with us. We decided to have Panko Whitebait and a Scotch Egg for our starters, both were massive portions and tasted perfectly. For our mains we had a Cider battered cod, pressed peas, curry sauce and chips and a Peri-Peri Chicken with salad and chips, again both portions were massive, and both dishes were perfect. Sadly, as all the portions were so large we didn’t have room for one of the tasty desserts on the menu. We returned to the bar area where we got chatting with both staff and a were made to feel really welcome. We would both highly recommend a visit to Captains Cabin, if not for the amazing food, for the amazing views from the outside sun terrace instead.

Tried this place because of google review. Basic food. View is nice. The kitchen service is okay but quite difficult to catch their attention. The bar man seems to be snobbish with tourist, as we can see he’s very chatty and helpful with the locals. Food looks nice, the pork is drowned in soysauce. Btw, difficult to talk to each other as they have a band.

Found this place by accident while walking to see the old pier at Biernbeck. What a wonderful spot ! We sat at the outside bar bar looking over Weston beach and the Severn. Ordered food wife had sea bass friend had fish and chips and I was going to have lasagne but ran out. Got to get in early for that one. Anyway second option captain's burger 🍔 but that really did not disappoint huge hand made beef patty proper thick bacon onion perfectly cooked chips. Got to say maybe one of the best burgers I've had. Sea bass wife said was amazing cooked to perfection. Only thing she did mention it comes on a bed of potatoes too many for her maybe bit more veg. But still amazing. Fish and chips also amazing. Good selection or beers and wines. Staff super friendly sorry didn't get bar person's name. Had a really nice chilled couple of hours here thanks all 😁👍

Had an amazing time here, food was incredible and Shanky's Whip behind the bar. Which, unlike the other places in Weston that serve Shanky's they have made a little cocktail menu using it. The Shanky's espresso martini is to die for! And the Irish Mule was really good too. We had several of all 3 options Food was too good to stop and snap a photo of, but highly recommend the pork belly starter and the brisket lasagne. The garlic bread is bizarrely fantastic as well, not sure what they do to it to make it that good!

There's a great sun terrace at the back with amazing views. Lots of steps inside so not very wheelchair accessible inside, steep ish slope to the sun terrace, but accessible with a bit of rearranging. Definitely a place worth visiting, and I will definitely be returning!

The Nut Tree Worle is a family-run gastropub known for its delectable British dishes, real ale, and impressive wine selection. It's a great spot for families with children, offering a spacious beer garden and dedicated play area. The venue is dog-friendly and features a warming wood fireplace. Visitors can enjoy an extensive menu that includes upmarket pub grub, afternoon tea, and Sunday roast.
A wonderful big welcome as we entered the car park (literally, it's painted on the tarmac). Well kept, clean and tidy paths and outside area, which is gated and dog friendly. Treats for our pup were offered to us at the bar. We had a late lunch after a long day walking and enjoyed speedy, polite service of very tasty food. We ordered the panko chicken burger and a salad of prawns, crayfish, smoked salmon and avocado with a side of cheesy, garlic ciabatta. Very fresh and utterly divine. The real ales were good too 👍🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (9/10) Visited The Nut Tree Pub for their Wednesday Night Burger Night and had an amazing experience! The deal — 2 burgers and 2 drinks for £35 — is fantastic value. The burgers were absolutely delicious and really filling. The pub itself was spotless, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. We even tried French toast for dessert — a first for me — and it was surprisingly amazing! Overall, I’d give it a strong 9 out of 10 and would definitely recommend The Nut Tree to anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed pub vibe. Will definitely be back! 📍 34 Ebdon Road, Weston-Super-Mare

Travelling down to Cornwall, after a little research we found the nut tree to be our half way point so reserved a table. What an excellent choice! So accommodating towards are approximate arrival time, and greeted with a friendly welcome. Very clean and quick service all round. Food was delicious and a fair price. Recommend the panko chicken burger! Beautiful day, so we decided to sit the beer garden afterwards. Great atmosphere. Thanks guys, wonderful stop off for us!

Absolutely lovely place and great atmosphere to it too. They gave us a doggy menu which I think is a great idea as it was cheap for how many treats came in the pot. Our food came out within 30 minutes even though they were still a bit busy inside. Food portions were amazing value for the price. Would definitely recommend to anyone

Booked a table for six Sunday lunch on 22 June, and I had roast beef and all the trimmings. I must say not only was the food presented in a 5 star fashion, the beef was top quality, cooked to perfection and the selection of vegetables was great. The waitress was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble and had a very friendly nature. I would definitely go there again.

Lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere and where they allow well behaved dogs inside. My daughter & son in law have eaten here and they said the food was nice. We all enjoyed a glass or two of Guinness during our couple of hours here before heading back to my daughter's house, of which was within walking distance. A nice place to take some time out especially after an afternoon of Crazy Golf in Weston Super Mare. I would definitely be returning to this lovely local pub when I next visit my daughter and her other half 😁

Breakfast restaurant
The Bay Café is a modern, stylish cafe-bistro which is quickly becoming a local favourite for its range of sandwiches, salads, burgers and sharing platters. In addition to drinks from Somerset cider farm Thatchers and Butcombe Brewery, The Bay also stocks a wide range of wines and lagers. The café makes cyclists feel really welcome with well spaced tables and efficient queueing system.
Amazing from start to finish!! Ordering was quick, staff were polite & extremely efficient. The breakfast arrived hot & plenty of it too. Dog friendly, many stopped for gravy bones (free) or a pup cup (£2). Can't wait to revisit, exceptional.

such a shame it closes for good easter 2025, everyone in Weston is very disappointed with the North Somerset Council I have never been to a restaurant where the staff have been so attentive the food was good plenty of it and they do three different price ranges for Sunday lunch which you have to book in advance. My picture is off the £10-95 one which was well worth it. For this price you get i meat from choice of 4, 2 choice of potato & choice of 3 veg, I did not have giant Yorkshire pud. Great mesl/value
David H — Google review
Although busy they coped very well with 8 cyclists ready for lunch. It was served fairly quickly and it was fabulous. The Bay stack sandwich was extraordinary, the Yorkshire sausage and mash was devoured very quickly as was the baked potato and tuna. A very worthwhile stop and not expensive.

Best roast dinner I have EVER had!!!! This place does the best dinner ...oh my days, I would recommend to anyone... walking past amd it caught our eye and popped in... so glad we did now ... I've never had so much meat... it was all tender and fell apart, the gravy was out of this world. If you've never been ...GO!!!! 👌👌😁😁.... Definitely coming back 100%

Nestled in the charming village of Uphill, The Ship Inn stands as Weston-super-Mare's oldest pub and a beloved local gem. This dog-friendly establishment welcomes furry friends with open arms, offering complimentary biscuits and water bowls while their humans indulge in generous portions of hearty pub classics. After a refreshing stroll along the nearby sandy beaches, visitors can unwind with a hot coffee or enjoy a pint in the inviting atmosphere.
I had the pleasure of being the official wedding photographer at The Ship Inn, and I can't recommend this venue highly enough! The large garden, complete with a beautifully decorated marquee, provided the perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photos. Every detail of the venue exudes charm, making it an ideal choice for couples seeking a picturesque location for their big day. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making the day special. Nothing was too much effort for them, and their seamless service made the event stress-free for everyone involved. The food was exceptional, with every dish prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. Guests couldn't stop raving about the quality and flavor. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines a stunning setting, outstanding service, and excellent food, The Ship Inn should be at the top of your list. A huge thank you to the entire team for making the day so memorable! Ian Phillips Photography

This pub definitely serves good food, staff is friendly and the atmosphere is always good too. There’s a pool table, darts and a skittles alley too which is great for children.
Veronique V — Google review
Spring may be teasing us that it’s on its way, but an independently owned pub with as much going for it as The Ship Inn in Uphill will always have its place in the community 🍻🍽️🔥 We had: 🩶 Mac n Cheese Bites 🩶 Chicken in a cream and chorizo sauce 🩶 Fish & Chips 🩶 Burger & Chips 🩶 Lasagne 🩶 Kids Nuggets, Beans & Potato Faces 🩶 Lemon Meringue Pie 🩶 Chocolate Fudge Cake Aka, a feast for the five of us! The chips were those slightly curved ones (hard to explain, zoom in!) that we as a family have a thing for, so they were an immediate hit. It can be a worry when you see a big menu but each of us enjoyed what we ordered - nobody had a dud! It was good honest pub grub done well, comfort food to get rid of our never ending colds 🤧 Prices are reasonable (e.g. Cod & Chips £14.95, kids meals from £5.25 for a main) but if you’re keen for an offer, there’s a and a brilliant value mid week lunch deal. It runs Monday to Friday from 12pm to 2.30pm with a range of dishes for £8, including my favourite, scampi 😋 They also have seasonal specials (the spring menu featuring treats such as ox cheeks with creamy leek mash) and this week they’re taking part in British Pie week with a different flavour on offer each day 🥧 Drinks wise it’s a traditional venue with all the usuals, but I was also impressed with the alcohol free selection. Perhaps something to do with the several team members going sober in Feb, raising over £500 for Ovarian Cancer in the process? 🙌🏻 The Old Mout 0% Berries and Cherries I had was very refreshing! There’s a small car park, a beer garden, dogs are welcome, you’ll also find a pool table, darts and skittles plus live music and quizzes too. A true all-rounder! (Review copied from Instagram)

This pub was at the end of my walk, from Berrow to Uphill. Lovely clean pub. Friendly staff. A nice pint.
Brian T — Google review
Still wobbling on sea legs after a perishing overnight sail to anchor on the tide in the nearby creek . . . decided to seek sustenance and the Ship was still serving. What better to take revenge on the sea than to eat of its children? Beer battered cod and the usual accompaniments. At a 'normal' sort of price a normal experience would do . . . but, no. This was exemplary, perfect in every way, crisp batter sealing the fish to steam within, succulent fish (hard with cod 'cos it's on the bland side), chips crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, peas just so and, surprise, a freshly prepared crunchy and crisp salad to help it all down! Two pints each of a well kept real ale and we were set for the night!

While in Weston for a week with family and dogs, we were on the look out for dog friendly places to eat locally. We have 3 Rommie rescues (between 2 families) and 2 of them are still recovering from awful experiences in Romania, so when we book places, we hope to get seating that allows us to give them security where they feel safe and will therefore be less reactive to passers by or other dogs. Well when we arrived having asked for a table in a corner, we were blown away by the way the staff had reserved a really great table, away from the hustle and bustle of the bar, allowing our pooches to have a really chilled time. Service was friendly, swift, efficient and on point. We had a vegan in the party and the menu catered for them very well too. The food arrived very quickly, piping hot, was beautifully cooked and tasted lovely. Overall, this was an absolute gem of a find. If we're in the area again, we will definitely revisit this wonderful pub.
Mark M — Google review
I was most dismayed at the service at the Ship. We had our main meal and would have liked a sweet, but after the plates were cleared away and we asked about ordering a sweet, we waited for the staff to return to take our order. Eventually we gave up waiting. I went to the bar, paid the bill and left. I don't think we could blame the young lady behind the bar as she was trying to serve a number of people who had come from a funeral and serve on the tables. Just bad management. We went to celebrate one of the parties 80th birthday which turned out to be very disappointing. Not a place to be recommended.

Raddy's Cafe Bar is a delightful spot that truly knows how to treat its guests. Recently, they hosted a lovely afternoon tea for volunteers who dedicated their time to a beach cleaning event, showcasing their commitment to the community. The staff went above and beyond, serving up an array of delicious sandwiches, hearty soups, and delectable cakes that left everyone feeling appreciated after hours of hard work. On another visit, one traveler discovered Raddy's Cafe Bar for the first time and was instantly smitten.
We had one of several private parties last night. The staff are amazing friendly and helpful throughout the whole process from booking to event. The food was wonderful and plenty of it too. It's a great space all round not just for functions but good meal including Sunday lunches, sports, live music and a great place for locals to meet. Reccommend 💯percent. Thank you team Raddys.

I came here for the first time with a friend for Sunday lunch, and we were both impressed with our visit. The food was delicious and promptly arrived after our order by polite, efficient, and attentive staff. I must say that the chicken dinner I had was huge and I felt 5 kilos heavier when I left! The next time I'm here in Weston-super-Mare on a Sunday, I know where to come for a belly filling and most affordable treat.😋 Thanks for having us, Raddy's, and please give all the kitchen staff a big shout out from me - especially the kitchen porter who has the unenviable and often thankless task of keeping everything clean and ready for others to use. I look forward to my next meal here.

We are incredibly grateful to the entire team at Raddy's Café Bar for hosting an afternoon tea for our volunteers after our March Beach Cleaning Event. 🏖️🚯🙏🏼♻️ Your staff did you incredibly proud and the food was brilliant! Thank you, so very much. Our volunteers had litter picked for nearly 5 hours, collecting an enormous 65kg of litter and separating 24kg of that for recycling so they really, truly deserved and adored the sandwiches, hot soups, cakes and drinks. 🙏🏼 We were also very thankful to be coming into your warm bar when it began to rain! 🌧️ We highly recommend Raddy's to anyone looking for a sports bar with brilliant events, staff and food for all your catering needs. The food was brilliant, the staff are incredibly kind and friendly and Raddy's gave us our own area for all volunteers to sit, relax, eat and drink after a very successful beach cleaning event! On entering the staff could have been a bit more inviting. When ordering we didn’t want mushrooms as none of us like them and was told we can’t take nothing of the plates! What if we were allergic? They did take them off in the end. The breakfast was ok but could have been a bit warmer and we asked for well done but nothing was well done as they don’t change anything on the plates “you get it how it comes” is the staffs answer

Birnbeck Pier in Weston-super-Mare has been closed and abandoned since 1994, making it an unusual sight for visitors. Despite its state of disrepair, the Grade 2 listed pier still attracts attention due to its historical significance and picturesque setting. Although public access is prohibited for safety reasons, the pier's unique architecture and scenic views make it a popular spot for photography enthusiasts.
You can't go on the pier, but it is interesting to look at as you can still the facilities that were on the pier when it was open.

I remember going on this pier as a child so it always brings back memories coming to see it again. It's fantastic that they are finally renovating it with an opening date of 2028 I believe. They have a little information centre on site and people to give you information on what's happening. Can't wait to be able to walk along it again soon!

I've given this place a high rating even though it's not open and is a restoration project. If you like history , especially the enigmatic history of Victorian seaside towns then you'll enjoy the little visitor centre (lovely staff) and the views of the abandoned pier. This really is a place worth supporting imo

A lovely old Pier that is Grade 2 listed which has been allowed to get into a right old state. By all accounts, it's going to be saved. You can't go on or near it due obviously to it's state, but still worth a picture or 3

Was gutted! Turned up buzzing to play the arcades, grab a 99, maybe lose a quid in a 2p machine… only to find the pier’s shut, derelict, and one seagull away from collapse. Crushed.

I live in Weston super mare and it's a shame to see this pier going into the sea slowly, pretty sure nobody is backing the donations, just get rid of the eye soar, although I hear the RNLI are getting it back which would be great!

Called in after a meal at the Japanese Ikanji restaurant a few doors down, so didn't try the food here, though the reviews do look good. The atmosphere, for a Friday night, seemed a bit quiet. Not a large range of beers for a 'tap' house (not sure if that even means anything anymore), but nicely served. Not as big inside as it looks from the outside. Toilets upstairs. The furniture is a clearly sourced to provide a comfortable, perhaps themed environment. Some nice pieces. Lots of lighting, generally made from pieces of pipework. So I couldn't quite get the theme...partly industrial, partly shabby, partly basic wood. All in all pleasant enough, and I will be back to try the food :-)

What a hidden Gem! 💎 We went here through recommendation and was not disappointed. Food was made and presented very well and sold at a reasonable price. The lady working today was very kind and welcoming which made the visit even better. I highly recommend the Posh Fish Finger Sandwich 🥪 Will definitely be back!

Park
Nestled along the stunning seafront of Weston-super-Mare, the Water Adventure Play Park is a delightful outdoor haven for children seeking fun and excitement. This vibrant play area features an impressive wooden structure alongside an interactive aquatic playground filled with fountains, sprays, and jets that activate with sensors. Perfect for those hot summer days, this park offers a safe environment where kids can splash around to their heart's content without the worry of deep water.
Such good value you can't go wrong! My daughter loves it it does get busy in the holidays. Cafe in site too which is handy and toilets also. The play area is good if your little one wants a break from the water park bit. It's close to the beach and you pay once and can come in and out all day.

What a beautiful playground right in front of the beautiful Weston beach-promenade. My son had a lot of fun, great green area with amazing equipment; there is also a waterpark. Perfect👌💙
Rico B — Google review
This has been on my list to go to for quite some time, and it did not disappoint! We didn't actually stay very long because the weather was dull, my daughter had a cold and after getting wet we wanted to get her warm. However, I can't wait to go back on a sunny day. The staff were amazing, they actually let us in for free (due to the weather), whereas it's £3 for all day per child usually. We offered to pay upon leaving too but they just said they were glad we had a good time and not to worry about it! What lovely people!! The park itself is great and is split into what I would say is 3 sections, with ample grassy spaces in between. There's a smaller children's area with swings, a slide, etc. Then there's an older children's area at the back (we didn't get a chance to venture over that far), and lastly, the water park section. The water was so much fun. I'd say the temperature of the water was tepid- definitely not as cold as I expected it to be. The ground was colourful and a great fun experience for myself and my daughter. I couldn't wait to get stuck in as an adult! There's an ice cream hut and a small cafe. We got some hot chocolate when we were there which was tasty. I can imagine it's very popular in the summer. It has a great location; right opposite the sea front, and with Melrose Car Park right next door.

Fantastic place to take your children on a sunny day! Little water park and two play areas for children of different ages, changing rooms and toilets
Kayleigh H — Google review
£3 per child, come and go all day, nice little water park with a lot of other play apparatus also. Kids really enjoyed themselves. Nice little cafe attached to the side, lovely hot chocolate. Woudl return if in Weston again
Michael C — Google review
For £3 per child it's a bargain. Free entry for adults too. Pay and display carpark right next door and located opposite the beach. Security constantly monitored on entry with separate exit. There is a friendly onsite cafe who offered the best custome service. Families can camp out with picnic blankets and camp chairs whilst kids play across the varied aged playgrounds. However, long queues for the only two toilets and half of the changing facilities were closed. I do hope this is resolved. Overall good and do recommend. Thank you to the owners and organisers.
Kel ! — Google review
updated review. Went there today 14/9/24. free for September which was great most things actually on and working ( except the castle) kids had a ball. I think 3 pound entry is a little steep and its about average for a mocha at £3.50. old review. Great in the summer pretty mundane on a cold day lol kids were done in 20mins.
Jake W — Google review
I popped here with my 4yo girls to take advantage of a rare sunny afternoon. The girls were thoroughly entertained for 2.5hours and could have lasted longer if I’d let them! The new double zip line was a hit, as was the splash pad but I think they enjoyed the general sense of freedom I was able to allow them in a safe enclosed environment. (although the park was very quiet when we visited) The staff were really welcoming and friendly. They even encouraged me to bring a picnic or fish and chips next time to make a real day of it - such a good idea! At £3 per child (adults free) to come and go as you please all day I think it’s an absolute steal! Top tip: wear a wetsuit and water shoes so kids can easily swap between play park and splash park. Also if there’s a wind it can be a bit chilly in the water!

The Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare is a historic venue that has recently undergone a 15 million renovation, offering two restaurants, a stunning ballroom, and beautiful surrounding grounds. This stylish ballroom and gardens were designed in 1924 by renowned town planners and have hosted performances by iconic artists like David Bowie and Pink Floyd. The venue hosts various events throughout the year, including dance classes, live music, and more.
Recently attended an awards night and the hall was decorated so beautifully! Ive seen the hall bare so to see it like this was stunning. A lot of space, great for events, they also throw charity balls. Fantastic night.

One of Weston-super-Mares centerpiece buildings. Situated on the sea front, it also backs on to the Sovereign shopping center and is separated by the Italian gardens. This building is often used for all sorts of functions, and when we visited, there was a food festival being held. They have always do e well to keep this place up to date and it is a beautiful building.

Good sized venue, staff friendly and helpful, clean facilities. We went for the horticultural show organised by the horticultural society. It was quite good bit lack of advance advertising meant it didn't have many people entering the show apart from cake making, jams and vegetables. All of the craft exhibits were sparse due to lack of competitors. Hopefully more advertising for next year.

The Winter Gardens, an unprepossessing building that has seen better days, sits well in its surroundings in Weston-super-Mare, itself a semi-derelict seaside wasteland where half the populace sits on mobility scooters and even the seagulls have flown in search of better pickings elsewhere. I came. I saw. I fled.

Our Band, The Shuffles Band, from Bristol were booked to play a corporate Xmas party at the Winter Gardens. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The Winter Gardens provided a stage and large LED screen which the client could plug their laptop in to for speeches and videos which looked very impressive. No problem with sound limits or acoustics for the band. The venue has recently been refurbished to high standard, the food was fresh and hot. The room is unique and feels special. We would recommend the Winter Gardens as a venue.

I loved every minute of this venue and the show we saw last night (Bristol Ensemble: Mozart). It's very cosy, great staff, and it feels like an olde world theatre - will definitely be going again. Legends is a friendly place with polite staff and reasonably priced food. The pub offers a good setup for watching sports, with multiple TVs showing different channels. It also hosts events like meat raffles and pub quizzes. The atmosphere is lively, with a jukebox playing great music and karaoke nights on Thursdays. The bar area is well-maintained and comfortable, making it an enjoyable spot to relax with friends over drinks or to grab a meal cooked to order at affordable prices.
This was a brilliant bar for drinking, with an underground feel from the prominence of raw bricks inside! The white and brown architecture adds to this and counter has a smooth, curved layout, ran by approachable staff. I had a bottle of Thatcher's Orange Cider and seating was comfortable, plenty of places other than tables to so not out of options to place your drinks down!

What a great building from the outside, then inside it's a little like old worldy with Tudor style walls. Usual tap beers but no real ales available. Staff were alright. Nice and cosy place in it's own way. Beer was good. According to the times advertised it was serving until midnight, but I was kicked out at 11pm. Gents toilet needed work with no lock on the cubicle door and no toilet seat, disgraceful. Hope they have rectified this since I were there

Brean Beach is a popular destination for families and dog walkers, featuring a long 7-mile stretch of golden sand along the North Somerset coast. At low tide, vast mud flats are exposed, providing plenty of space to explore but caution is advised due to sinking in the mudflats. The beach offers a nice public area for dogs to run around and provides a pleasant stroll for visitors. While it may get windy at times, there are soft and sheltered parts near the cliffs to the north.
Really great experience A small hike with few stairs and some hiking. The view and the wind was amazing. And a wonderful treat at last, with a kind of new castle. A mix of beach and mountains view

Need I say more, honestly such an underrated beach in England. Defo recommend going here so nice and peaceful and not so busy even during the summer, funfairs and leisure park close by to the beach, parking is easily found with payment for the whole day. Very family and pet friendly and I would defo recommend the hike up to the top of the hills to really get those scenic views.

Amazing location for a dog walk, great long beach and then a nice hill to climb to and walk down to see a historical base and take in some history. Bring good walking shoes as there is a lot of walking and a bit of an uneven path and a lot of stairs but definitely worth it for the views. The dogs will love it.

Fantastic beach with quite a bit of parking available - bear in mind parking is cash only! The beach itself is lovely and sandy! Perfect for sandcastles and little kids. The beach was clean and not overly crowded at all! There is a little cafe selling hot food and ice creams just off the beach. Really nice day out
Naomi P — Google review
The only issue was the parking app would only charge us £12 instead of the day rate at the machines of £6. Having to bring cash seems daft in this day and age. However, we spent the whole day there. Everyone enjoyed the walk to the fort and back. The cafe was excellent with some lovely pasties.

Fortress
Brean Down Fort, located at the end of a 318-ft.-high peninsula, was constructed as a defense against potential Napoleonic invasion. Situated in the Mendip Hills, it offers stunning views across the Bristol Channel and is easily accessible from Weston Super Mare. The area is perfect for a weekend exploration, with its proximity to Bristol and Bath making it an ideal destination. Visitors can enjoy picnics while taking in incredible views and exploring the old fort's buildings.
We had a fantastic time exploring Brean Down Fort. While the fort itself is free, we paid for parking, which was a small price for the incredible experience. The walk from the car park to the fort took us about a mile along the headland, and the views of the Bristol Channel and the Somerset coast were absolutely breathtaking. The fort has multiple buildings and information signs that do a great job of explaining the history of the site.
Andrew S — Google review
There is 2 walking options, both the same distance. One is "accessible" and the company offers mobility scooters. The other is a harder, up and down path with uneven and varying terrain. The fort itself has numerous buildings, and picture boards to demonstrate / explain different parts and buildings. Would recommend
Davies F — Google review
Brean Down is honestly one of those places you can wander around and just lose track of time. The first thing that hits you is the scenery. Standing up on the fort, you get this sweeping view of the coastline and the Bristol Channel. The grass, the cliffs, the water all blend together and it is just stunning. You can spend hours walking around, taking in the sights, and just feeling completely away from it all. The history of Brean Down Fort is really fascinating and adds a whole other layer to the visit. The fort itself was built in the 1860s as part of a chain of coastal defenses to protect the Bristol Channel from potential French attacks. The site has been used for centuries though. There are remnants of Bronze Age and Roman settlements, showing that people have recognised its strategic importance for thousands of years. During the First World War, the fort was used as a lookout point, and by the Second World War it had been updated with anti-aircraft guns and concrete observation posts to defend against German attacks. You can still see the old gun emplacements and concrete structures that tell the story of its military past. On the Down itself, you can spot old markings and large directional arrows that guided planes during the Second World War, which is a really cool detail to see up close. Walking around, you get this sense of how people used to live and work here, the effort it must have taken to build and defend this spot. The paths are easy to follow and the whole place has this raw, natural beauty mixed with a sense of history that makes it feel alive. Whether you are into history or just love amazing views, Brean Down has a bit of everything. You can easily spend a whole day exploring, snapping photos, or just sitting and soaking it all in.
Ayyub C — Google review
This was a great coastal walk with loads of abandoned military buildings. The views are breathtaking. Truly a wonderful day out with the family and dogs. The cafe had lots of treats to get you recharged. Really enjoyed our day out here. Thanks.
Rodney M — Google review
Really beautiful walk out to the old fort area. Really clean, sometimes cattle are grazing. Steps or little road (quite steep) makes this accessible even to mobility scooters and bikes. You can hire both at the carpark.
Katherine S — Google review
Impressive views from this old Napoleonic era fort which is free to visit. Good signage that explains the various buildings and how the fort would have operated. It's a steep walk (stairs are the shorter but steeper journey or a path for a slightly longer but less steep walk) up to the top. Dog friendly but need to keep on a lead as sheer drops in some places plus cows grazing freely.
Kate L — Google review
Great place to visit. Car park is well run and @£6 for all day in my opinion is good value. You will need a good few hours to do the downs and forth. Great views and a great couple of cafes to boot. The beach is great.
David H — Google review
Lovely area for a walk & well worth the effort. The direct route to the top via stairs up (and down) are a fair workout, the path slightly less so. The views on a clear day are fantastic, and the old fort provides some nooks & crannies to investigate. Parking fees are like the stairs - steep - but they are primarily catching the beach goers, and the toilets are adjacent to the car parks & cafe.

This summer, the Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare is buzzing with excitement as it hosts a vibrant series of events under the theme 'Culture With A Twist.' This lively program coincides with the arrival of the impressive SEE MONSTER art installation, a striking 35-meter tall structure crafted from a decommissioned North Sea oil platform. The venue also showcases local talent, featuring hand screen-printed flags by Zara Emily and her team, inspired by September's UK Pride event.
We went today for the first time. We had a fabulous time on the ice. The ice is good quality and the saff were amazing. Everyone is very helpful and kind. Visited again today to attend the art exhibition. A nice open area for exhibits. There were a range of paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs and prints on display. We spent about half an hour looking at the art. There is wheelchair access, cafe, street parking nearby, public toilets and a bar available. A great venue located in Weston-super-Mare sea front. Currently being used as an ice scape over Christmas and new year. It is also used for a number of other events including a fairground, music events, art and much more. There is a cafe open all year around at the entrance, disabled access, toilets and street parking (payable to council ) at front of property.

If you haven’t been to this place you have to! Very good service, large portions and the food is incredible. I have found my favourite pub. Who would have thought it was so close to home. I just had the Chef’s Special 8 hour braised beef rib and I hope they will be moved to the main menu and be always available. In the off chance there is still space for dessert, they are amazing!

We decided to try this pub for an evening meal while on holiday in the area after reading good reviews. The choice of food, which included a tantalising Specials Board, was amazing and reasonably priced. I had the home made Turkey Stroganoff which was delicious and full of chunky turkey. The warm chocolate fudge cake for dessert was the best I'd had anywhere. We went back the next day for lunch and I had the Chalfont Chicken which again was fantastic. It is best to book as it understandably gets busy. The pub has a designated dog friendly area. All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. A great find in Weston super Mare. We went to see the open mic Friday night (for bands). Awesome. Great atmosphere. Very eclectic mix of people ... all welcome. Easiest access to the Brit Bar is from West Street. Loads of seating inside and out. Quick and efficient bar staff. Good prices on booze and beer. What more could you ask for ... oh yeah, great music too. The live bands play outside the bar in a porch area. There are picnic bench seats out there, as well as room to stand and watch some bands. Great vibe. We saw HELLENBACH play - awesome metal band playing original songs, and a few other bands playing covers. Great fun. I will definitely be going back. No parking on site, but after 6pm you can find street parking for free - not easy, but you'll find somewhere eventually (or use the multi-storey).

This pint-sized pub, adorned with whimsical feline decor, offers an inviting atmosphere that feels both cozy and slightly gothic. Housed in a former clothing store and conveniently located near Grove Park, it features a striking mural of a black cat that adds to its unique character.
This was a fabulous pub for drinking, featured a dark theme that feels captivating to visit during the night! The mural of a black cat strengthens the theme and the dots of light around compliment the darkness well, including at the slick counter. Beverages are listed all around even above the counter which is a solid touch, I appreciated how the coasters and logos appear on walls too. I was privileged to have a Strawberry Cider here as these drinks are easiest to find down in Somerset, seating is comfortable and had been kept clean too!

Small micropub with a good selection of real ales. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Card payment only. Nice little place with music being piped through which was of my era. A great hand painted picture on the main wall which was wonderful. Enjoyable place. Pleasant experience. Enjoyed my visit.

Absolute gem of a pub. Stumbled across this the other night after our usual venue was closed and so glad we gave it a try. Huge selection of ales cider beer gin and other spirits. Tasty choice of nuts crisps and other snack. A warm welcome and nice atmosphere. Fantastically decorated. Just an absolutely brilliant pub to visit. Will be back for more!

Small-sized pub with plenty of locals and a reasonable range of beers, though only a few cask ales available. The feline-themed décor is unusual and gives it a distinct look.

A little gem of a pub. Very chilled. Bar staff very helpful in the wide choice of beers. Perfect if your looking for a real ale pub in Weston super Mare.

We only had a sandwich here, but it was lovely. We tried several beers etc here and all of them were very good. The service was brilliant and the staff very polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of all the drinks. Had a really lovely few hours here. Well worth a visit if in Weston-super-Mare.

Tuesday 9th September 2025 This is a belting micro pub. This pub has a fantastic music played mostly 1970s blues /rock bands whilst i was in. The clientelle was fantastic propper real ale drinkers The pub had a ample collection of real ales of a rarer persuasion which were all well looked after by a landlord that appreciates real ale. I will now state that when coming to Western super_Mare to drink real ale this pub is an Essential visit. Well done all involved
Darren S — Google review
Quaint little micro-pub just outside the main Weston town centre, nice atmosphere, helpful and friendly bar-staff, impressive selection of cask and keg ales and ciders. Could have stayed here all evening if we didn't have somewhere else to be!

We went for a birthday party brilliant atmosphere live band playing which is a regular thing its a proper local pub feel highly recommended
Gillmore G — Google review
Fabulous evening, a lovely outdoor setting and indoor cosiness. The weather definitely worked in our favour as the 60th birthday crowd spread both indoors and outdoors mingling with other visitors. This is a local Worle pub with lots of regular clientèle. I believe it is more of a drinking than eating pub. However, I stand corrected if that's not the case! The landlords are really friendly and hospitable, and the staff are great at coping under pressure. They can accommodate live music both indoors and outdoors and regularly hold events to please the crowds

Live music venue
Nestled in Oxford Place, The Electric Banana is a charming venue that truly captures the essence of live music. With its intimate atmosphere and impressive acoustics, it offers an inviting space for music lovers of all ages. Patrons rave about the friendly staff and reasonable drink prices, making it a delightful spot to unwind while enjoying performances from various bands. Although the venue is on the smaller side, it maintains a cozy vibe that enhances the experience rather than detracts from it.
Excellent venue, one of the best we've been to. Sound was superb and it has a real friendly professional vibe about it. Highly recommended, great to see a venue that cares abouts performers.
Barbara W — Google review
Myself and my partner saw a band here the other night. Overall we enjoyed the bands and venue. The room itself is on the small side, but considering it was a sold out gig it didn't feel too cramped. Toilets were okay. The sound and lighting was as you'd expect from a music venue. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Only downside is there was no cloakroom - so we had to stand for 4 hours holding our coats and umbrella, so not very practical. Despite this, we would visit again.
L W — Google review
Fun venue for live music, dark and grungy looking with a basic bar but no signs of sticky floors.
Rob W — Google review
Saw STILLYANO on 3 occasions here, it's a great little club, the acoustics are spot on, staff are friendly and drinks priced similary to pubs. Keep on rocking guys😎👍
Richard ( — Google review
Great little venue for live music. We visited last night to see Stillyano who were a great rock cover band. The venue is small, cosy and immaculately clean (a very rare find in the bars of Weston), plus everyone was super friendly from the bar staff to the door staff to the local regulars. There was a mix of all age ranges who were just out for a good night of live music and entertainment. A thoroughly enjoyable night in a niche little venue. The owners have got this place spot on 👌
Charlie W — Google review
Not the easiest to find. At least on Google maps. However, once inside, it's a nice little venue. No, scrub that a great little venue. I was there for a gig (Lazuli, supported by Also Eden). The sound was top notch. Friendly environment. Good range of drinks. Highly recommended.

Love this pub 😍 Mark who works there is a lovely guy who takes the time to talk to people and makes you feel very welcome. Although it is a pub that is quite out the way and alot of locals drink there it is still very welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

Nice little pub located in a side street not too far from seafront and local resturants and shops . Friendly staff behind bar. Pub quite quiet when we visited. Lots of seating indoors and out even though pub looks tiny from the road 😎 the garden is enclosed and pretty with some plants and a small sheltered area if it rains.

John C — Google review
Use to be a dog friendly and welcoming pub, but for some reason I was made to feel unwelcome because I had a dog. I don’t know why this was an issue because the pub wasn’t overly busy and my dog is elderly and very well behaved. But before I’d even tasted my first pint I was advised by a lady that I can only assume is the landlord that my dog had to be kept on a short lead and I couldn’t stand at the bar, but she recommended that I stay in the beer garden in December. After I tried to accommodate her request by standing somewhere out of the way, a member of staff advised that I would have to move because I was blocking access to the beer garden that no-one was using. When I moved to another location in the pub that was out of the way, the landlady started raising her voice across the bar and making it very clear that there was another issue. I’d walked for 45 minutes to spend money in an establishment that advertises itself as dog friendly but I was made to feel so unwelcome that I left immediately. I won’t be coming back and I’d recommend that the pub makes it clear that it is most certainly not dog friendly 😡

This has to be the best pub in the southern part of weston. Free house with quality smoking area and brilliant rear beer garden. A one bar pub - old fashioned but brilliant. Very much locals but very friendly to visitors. Quiz and games geared to middle aged not young set ( children and dogs made welcome ) . The Sunday bar snacks must be the best in the area !

What a fantastic little gem this is! Absolutely loved it here, had an entire afternoon, going into the evening playing games, drinking a great selection of beers and eating food with my partner. Each of which were excellent :) The decor is fun and fresh, I love all the plants, and the manager Simon is very welcoming and funny. He knows his stuff about games and was a great help to us during our time. We also had a bit of a laugh with him over the evening and will be back very soon! Thank you!!

Each session lasts around 20 minutes, immersing you in an action-packed experience where strategy and agility are key—just remember to keep an eye out for enemy fire! But the excitement doesn't stop there!
Really good fun! Went here yesterday to try the place out before bringing a larger group and couldn't recommend it enough. Love the painted murals and entrance ways. Sign posts inside to the right spots are excellent. Whole theme of the place is great. Staff were excellent and welcoming. Process was really slick to check in and play. Food and drink is reasonable. Love the name picking options. And most importantly the arena itself to play in is really well thought out, not over dark, and a great scenery selection. An absolutely blast will be back for sure.
Rhys D — Google review
Recently had a birthday party with 13 children at Laser Quest in Weston & I had to take the time to write a review & say how pleased & happy we were with the whole set up. All the kids had a blast & the staff were so nice! I called up & spoke to staff over the phone before booking & they answered all my questions brilliantly & gave me all the info I needed in advance of coming. Then we went ahead & booked the whole party online via their website & we were prompted to arrive 15 mins early. When we arrived on the day, the building really stood out & was easy to find, inside was decorated really cool perfect for older kids party!! We were greeted by staff & immediately were helped by two staff members & they went through everything with me (the organiser) & explained where parents can sit & watch the laser tag games on the TV screens. The children got to pick their own funny names for the 2 games of laser tag. Then all the children got a full safety briefing & were shown how to play, so even the kids that had never played laser tag before were confident on how to play. The kids were given a break in between each game & drinks given out (water & squash). Afterwards we had a party room all to ourselves where a female staff member called Mikayla was absolutely amazing & brought all the pizzas prepared straight away, at the perfect time, as soon as the kids sat down, she handed out game score cards to each child & honestly couldn’t do enough to help us make the party so special & she even tidied up afterwards. Party went perfect, no stress for parents at all! Would 100% come again for regular game play or plan a party here again. Big thanks again to all the staff 👍😀

The facilities are great, the sessions are so much fun and everything is run very efficiently. Special thanks to Michaela and Anastasia who served us and coordinated everything. They were absolutely lovely. So friendly and genuinely made us feel welcome. Highly recommend for a fun, well-organised activity. Will definitely be back again!

My first order with these lovely folks and may I say service was fantastic (delivered with a smile) and the coffee del mare (first tried so far) is smooth flavourful and quite refreshing. I ordered 12 cans 3 of 4 different flavours. Will definitely be ordering again. The glass is very nice too and thanks for the free coasters 👍🏼

What a brewery! Having stumbled across Pinkers at the start of lockdown, it was great to have awesome beers delivered to the door. Scott (or as the kids call him “the beer man”) is always on hand to respond to the call for beer and we love the different varieties being brewed. We are big fans of supporting local businesses and it massively helps when the business and beer is as good as Pinkers. I would highly recommend any of these beers either at home or on tap in one of the local pubs. Thanks guys. #teampinkers #beerman
