The 50 best places to go out in Durban

uShaka is always a lovely place to visit when coming to Durban. I hadn’t been here since before Covid and was worried when I saw all the negative reviews, however it’s not bad at all. There are staff everywhere to assist, the spaces are kept clean, and the shows, aquarium and slides are all very enjoyable. We were here during off peak season so it was not busy at all. The parking has attendants on the inside and you have to pay at the gate too. The payment at the gate was R21 for about 6 hours, which isn’t too bad. I recommend having some cash as well. It’s important to check the website before planning your trip so you know when is the best time to visit based on what’s available.

uShaka is a beautiful big place to do alot of things, inreally think they did an outstanding job with the layout. The only thing I'd recommend is to improve on the seal show, it's was a little bit of a waist of time, they only have a short briefing then select soemone from the audience to meet a seal, and that's it show is over, I feel they can do a little more than a 5mint show, for me it was a waist the kids could hardly enjoy, the dolphin show was so amazing, got to give it tobthe staff that handles the dolphin show now that definitely worth to see, some areas where closed, and some restaurants are closed, so it's a little bit sad, I'd prefer to go early morning, as midday is extremely busy if you not someone for large groups of people. To view the marine life. They definitely are doing a great job and that you have an opportunity to meet the dolphins personally, but you would need to book ahead of time with them to personally have an experience with the dolphins. But the show you don't need booking.

uShaka Marine World is an incredible place to visit! The aquarium is one of the best I’ve seen, with an amazing variety of marine life and beautifully designed exhibits. The water park adds even more fun, especially for families with children. The atmosphere is vibrant and safe, with plenty of food and entertainment options around. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance, especially during weekends and holidays, as it gets very busy. A must-see attraction in Durban!

Best place to visit around Durban. There are Marine Aquarium, Dolphin and seal shows, Dangerous creature show, water adventures, rope adventure and water parks. Everything totally worth. You can also take seperate tickets for each events, but it's better to take combo tickets. Go for water park if u gonna spend the whole day there. Ticket prices are also not high, but affordable. We really enjoyed it

I've been wanting to go there for ages. I was not disappointed. The staff are really working hard to make it an amazing experience. The exhibits are well maintained. There are lots of shops and more than enough to eat and drink. I will certainly go back and can definitely recommend it.

What a great experience at uShaka Marine World! We wandered through the aquarium and honestly lost track of time—quiet walkways, huge viewing windows, and that lovely hush when a turtle glides past. Even the “non-fish people” in our group ended up pointing things out and taking way too many photos. Outside had a fun, holiday feel. We grabbed an easy lunch, drifted between shops, and caught a dolphin show without planning to—perfect little break for our feet. Salty air, friendly staff, and plenty of shady spots made it an effortless day out. We left sun-tired, smiling, and already talking about coming back.

A street full of vibrant restaurants expressing local and international cuisine. There is never a dull moment on this road. I am a huge fan of the fine dining and party vibe thats present in the day and night

The food and the music is top notch. The diversity and culture really shows that we live in a very awesome country.

Not sure how many of the places are still around but its always great to be in Florida Road, Berea, Durban and just cruise around or pop in at one of the local pubs or restaurants for a byte...

On its way down, wholw road needs a revamp to take it back to its glory days.

Has a variety of good vibes places

Decent place. Music is okay. Service, okay. Overall, it's just an okay club. It has lost much of the vibe it used to have before.

I think they are overpriced. The price to enter went from R100 to R150. But what for ??? The club was not renovated or revamped. There's nothing new there, there's no new facilities etc. So what exactly are you charging extra for ? The only thing that's nice is the music, nothing else. I would not recommend going here. It's just kak. Also, your crowd seems to be late teens early 20's most probably college kids, so what is the R150 entrance fee ? Also, even when guests come to your club one or two hours before it closes, you charge the full entrance fee for whatever reason, idk! Not cool guys, there's so many more offerings. A horrible place to be. The only thing this place is known for is fighting and shootings. Do yourself a favour and please stay away from this dangerous club. It’s quite shocking and sad to see what this club has turned into and I will never be going back there again. Please like my review if you’ve shared similar experiences.

Worst place ever ..bouncers are very rude and always find ways to fight and hit the people which is very unprofessional A friend of mine was abused really bad by one of the bouncers .and some of them ask for bribes if you are kicked out of the club. These bouncers really need to be dealt with or rather fiŕed

Good place for youngsters to enjoy a safe environment to chill

Stay far away from the levels party . It is stuck on, no ventilation, little to no service. Getting from point A to B takes skill. The organizers should only sell a set amount of tickets and not be so greedy in turn, creating a more enjoyable experience.

Amazing place, my husband and I had a great night when we were there 3 weeks ago. We will definitely be coming back. The Bathrooms are really clean, the staff is really friendly. The bouncer was really respectful and nice. Definitely worth the 5 stars 🤩😊

Moses Mabhida Stadium is one of the greatest Stadium in the World, a World Class Piece of Art. Access control to the Stadium should be improved. The one thing that this infrastructure lacks, is network or connection signal. As soon as one gets into the Stadium, one loses network connection for the period of being in that Stadium. This is a serious inconvenience and a detach to the world when one is a place where wants to connect with the world.

I was really impressed by how well-maintained and organised everything is. The stadium has a great atmosphere, whether you're there for a match or just a visit. What stood out for me is the convenience 🌸there are restaurants on-site, making it easy to grab a meal or a quick bite without having to leave the venue. There's also a gym inside, which is perfect for fitness lovers or athletes in training. Clean facilities, ample parking, and a professional vibe throughout.

We took the SkyCar up the arch just before sunset and the view over Durban stopped us in our tracks, ocean on one side, city stretching on the other. We took a few photos, then just leaned on the rail and watched the light slide across the roof. Even on a breezy evening it felt calm up there, like the city noise was on mute. Back at ground level we wandered the plaza, grabbed something to drink, and sat people-watching while the lights came on around the stadium. It’s one of those places that makes a simple hour feel like an occasion, easy, memorable, and worth the detour.

We went up in the SkyCar for a proper postcard view of Durban’s coastline, then lingered on the arch just to watch the city breathe. It’s clean, well-run, and surprisingly calming up there. If you’ve got nerves, the Big Swing is a rush; if not, the café and plaza still make it worth the stop. Sunset light on the arch is magic, photos do half the work for you.

We went up late afternoon and the views were exactly what we hoped for—ocean on one side, city on the other, and a steady breeze that makes you pause. Staff were calm and friendly, and the whole process felt smooth from ticketing to the ride down. It’s one of those “show your visitors this first” places because it sets the tone for Durban. Back at ground level we lingered on the plaza, grabbed something cold to drink, and watched people cycle past. It’s easy to pair with a walk toward the beachfront, so the outing turns into a simple, happy couple of hours.

The Kings Park Stadium, also known as the "Shark Tank," is a rugby ground located close to The Riverside Hotel in Durban. It was my first time here as someone who’s visiting from GP The place gets wild and crowded. We came for an artist we paid entrance for only for no show up or explanation. They did get kabza the small to perform which is ok but we were not there for him. The tequila special is ok for someone that’s trying to black out, I don’t know what kind of tequila they use but it tasted like poison we had to give them away. The hubbly guys are completely useless and rude. So if you’re looking for 3rd/4th location when you’re already out of it and just there for a beer then this is the place to be I guess. Nothing crazy or fancy, just a spot.

I really enjoy their platters and combos, their pizza! Deboinairs really need to take notes. Cool place to take your significant other or your crew but they have great views for those ista snaps. NB: The manager guy needs to be humble and treat customers correct otherwise good vibes.

I’ve gone to a few jazz nights here & I absolutely love what they’re doing for the culture, especially for jazz music and just music as a whole. Their DJ also plays really cool music to listen and vibe to. The atmosphere & decor is really cool & it’s really a cool space. The food is a little limited but going there for the music is worth it. Love their alcoholic drinks as well.

Everything about The Chairman is chef’s kiss from the welcome at the door, styling of the interior, the warmth of the staff and of course the yummy food and incredible live music! Some of my best memories have been made at The Chairman.

An amazing gem of Durban's inner city life filled with amazing architecture, ambiance, music, culture, and of course great food.

Peaceful during the day and an absolute vibe during live music sessions. Mellow. The ambience here is amazing, and the art, pieces of furniture, and other features are just breathtaking. Not a very large variety of food items depending on your day of visit, but the offerings are great, particularly the pizza.

Watched a live performance by Umzulu phaqa. Great atmosphere, great service, love the people that go there. Just had drinks, it’s a bit pricey but worth it.

A decent club to vibe in, although security needs to be more tight on the inside. Drinks are a bit pricey, and safety is not as good as it used to be. The overall vibe is fairly good.

Origin is an entertainment WONDERLAND featuring various dance floors, numerous bars and lounges, chillout areas, and a rooftop terrace. Origin hosts distincly separate social spaces that have different emotions, different atmospheres, and different music... this creates an environment of social interactions with cool, arty, funky, edgy, weird, and wonderful people, that often wouldn't have met each other if it wasn't for Origin. My first official experience at Origin Nightclub was absolutely incredible 👏 🙌 as a party animal this is definitely a must jol nightclub. 5 Dance floors, beautiful layouts, stunning wall art, massive bars, comfortable seating arrangements, Perfect dance floors designed to get you moving constantly. "You can't stop moving at ories" I absolutely loved it. I celebrated the last few hours of my 25th birthday during the ultra pre-party, and I loved every moment of it.

The crisp air fills your lungs as tall trees sway gently overhead 🌳 and soft sunlight filters through the branches ☀️. With birds calling 🐦, leaves crunching underfoot 🍂, and pops of color from winter blooms 🌼, every step feels like a peaceful escape—a little dose of nature’s magic right in the heart of the city 💚.

We slipped off for an hour between family visits and the city noise just melted, cool shade, giant trees, and easy paths you can wander without thinking. We found the lake, watched moorhens fussing around the lilies, and took a few photos before putting the phones away. It felt like a small breather in the middle of a busy family weekend. We grabbed cold drinks, sat under a big fig, and chatted about nothing important while the kids rolled down the lawn. Couples strolled past, a wedding shoot drifted by the orchids, and the whole place just moved at a gentler pace. Simple, calm, and exactly the reset we needed before heading back to the cousins.

Botanic Garden is beautiful, peace and quiet. I went on Saturday it was full yet so spacious as there was a wedding ceremony in the hall. People who were visiting the garden were able to access it. I would really recommend it 👌 if you want to relax, enjoy the view and nature.

One of the oldest botanical gardens in Africa and a serene oasis in the heart of Durban. Gorgeous collection of cycads, orchids, and palm trees. Ideal for picnics, birdwatching, or quiet walks. The gardens are well maintained with clean facilities and ample benches. There’s often live music or events on weekends. Entry is free, though donations are welcome.

Small zoos, not many big attractions it's basically like a bird park. There are beautiful peacocks that walk freely around the area and nice small well maintained enclosures. Would recommend for kids who love animals

It was Okay . I've been going there from the time I was small , the park has changed alot . I wish there was a restaurant in the Zoo so you can eat in there cause there's no restaurants anywhere else . The park was kind of unkept , flower gardens were good , it was a Quiet day for a Saturday. The entrance fees were really low under R20 per person . Some of the enclosures were empty and there's only bushes. The reptile house was dirty and I think it was closed but there's still spiders in it , hope they are taken care of . Some of the enclosures seem small for the animals. Like so many birds in a small cage . I feel like they need more space . Overall I love the park and will be back

Well kept and maintained. A better job can be done and a revamp is required. Lovely place to go with family for a picnic and visit the zoo. Lots of birds and animals to see. Fabulous memories are made here. On weekends come before 12pm for a good spot

what an exciting surprise....the Alpaca's....oh my word....absolutely amazing. Sadly the Zoo is not as i remember it....lots of empty and broken enclosures.... Still worth a visit. Hopefully it will be restored soon. The play area/jungle gym is closed,my son was extremely disappointed.

A good place for family and friends to relax in a clean and well maintained Park. The gardens are beautiful, safety is still reasonable and the animals in the zoo look happy. Great for kids or adults that enjoy abit of nature in the midst of Durban!

Beautiful upon entrance into the picnic gardens, Zoo is run down and unkempt, overgrown cages filled with weeds, workers were chopping down cycads and flowers , instead of weeding and trimming. Pity there is no more restaurant, but still an enjoyable outing for families

Beautiful kept gardens and plenty picnic space. Mitchell Park has changed their variety of animals but it's still worth the visit. There are no longer 🐇🐰 bunny rabbits and different species of monkeys and they have added new animals since we were last there. My suggestion for improvement would be to add a light in the dark room so the fishtank with the turtle is visible as the animals in the tanks in the dark room can barely be seen even by shining a cellph light. There were quite a few empty cages. Toilets were clean and staff onsite friendly and polite. All in all a lovely day, will be back ☺️

First time in Florida road and We visited Cubana Durban and really enjoyed the overall vibe—it’s lively, energetic, and a great place to unwind. The place was quite busy when we arrived, so we had to wait at the bar before being seated, but once we got our table, the service was consistently excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and patient with us even as we got a bit restless waiting to eat. What really stood out was how hands-on the manager was—checking in a few times to make sure we were okay and enjoying our meal. We really appreciated that. We were honest about our calamari being overly fried and mentioned that we don’t like sauces (especially spicy ones), but unfortunately, the dish came with spicy sauce that my sister couldn’t eat. It would be great if they were a bit more mindful of special requests like that. On the bright side, we were treated to complimentary chicken strips and they were absolutely delicious. Definitely a must-try. Despite the crowd, we were served by at least four different team members, all working together to ensure we were happy. Some even cleared plates and glasses while passing by, keeping the table neat and tidy without us needing to ask. Overall, we had a lovely time and truly appreciated the service and energy of the place. Just a few tweaks on the kitchen side, and it would’ve been perfect. We’d happily go back when we are back in the city.

Reserved a table for 15 patrons, we got seated on a 12 seater with the rest of the group without table space. The food was average, so was the service. Was not impressed at all especially with the sitting arrangement.

The Natural Science Museum has a wonderful array of bird, animal and insect life native to Southern Africa. The exhibits are well kept and the murals are stunning! Definitely lots to enjoy and learn as you wonder through at your own pace.

My son loved all the stuffed animals he saw esp the TRex he was fascinated and he learned animals species from all countries he's only 3, I loved the artwork it was beautiful

Very impressive natural history museum in downtown Durban. This museum rivals the fauna diorama displays at the New York Natural Science Museum. Special highlights include an almost complete skeleton of a non extinct Dodo bird. There are full size taxidermy animals for just about every species you would expect to see on a safari game drive including a small giraffe, white and black rhinos and even an elephant! The bird gallery was amazing. I wish we had come here before going to Kruger NP. Don't loiter outside the building for too long (although it is beautiful to look at) as the neighbourhood is sketchy.

A fascinating museum with a wide range of exhibits that make science and history come alive. The displays are educational, engaging, and perfect for both adults and children. I particularly enjoyed the dinosaur and wildlife sections, which are impressive and very well presented. Entry was smooth and quick, and the visit was definitely worth it. A great place to learn and explore in Durban!

Great small museum with some classic Sth African displays. Includes an effort to educate on climate change and conservation as well. It was great to see plenty of locals coming through when we were there. No cost except the "parking attendants"...

I visited on a Sunday and managed to tour the first floor. We were lucky that we got parking outside the entrance. Entrance was free. The exhibits were well taken care off.

What a treat, place was Clean and tidy, you'd never believe you're in Durban CBD. It was also FREE! Kids enjoyed it, lots to learn even for older kids up to adults, There's a REAL Egyptian MUMMY too!

Nice art centre. I went there for a film festival and they have a sizeable hall for events and nice restaurant with facility for live concerts. There was a jazz band on last Sunday when I was there. And it’s opposite the harbour so great view.

Awesome showcase of ethnic arts and crafts. From Sbu's amazing wax figures at the Lungelo Wax Museum to Everado's ethnic paintings and lunch / dinner at the Craft Harbour Views restaurant under the new owner, Zinhle's capable supervision. Well worth a visit to support these amazing artists and entrepreneurs. Craft Harbour Views have live music on Sunday's and Zinhle is planning on showcasing local arts, cultures and music during the week with evening sessions.

If you like Camden in London you will like this place. You can see and meet young ambitious artist at work. If you have luck you can purchase something unic will alway remind you to your Durban trip. ..

We had a lovely father's day lunch here. Food is always so fresh and of good quality. They also usually have very good specials and good variety of food.

Jack Salmon Glen Ashley never disappoints. We visited on Saturday, 29 September, and once again it was sublime. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, with the sushi always a highlight. Service is outstanding – attentive without interrupting, with staff who are polite, professional, and anticipate your needs. The attention to detail shines through in every aspect, from the beautifully plated meals to the seamless service. The recent upgrades to the décor and bathrooms have lifted this intimate, well-run restaurant to the next level. Impeccable food, impeccable service, and a warm, stylish atmosphere – Jack Salmon remains one of Durban’s finest. It’s my all-time favourite restaurant and always my first choice.

I was here a year ago with family whilst over from Australia. It was the great food, atmosphere, and hospitality that made me come back again this trip. Amazing food, fabulous value and what an awesome hostess Ayo was. Hopefully I'll be back soon for more of the same goodness!

I have always loved Jack Salmon. But in this particular occasion, I felt very let down. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and the service was poor, we had to call on numerous occasions to get some kind of service and the prawn pasta tasted sweet even after we brought this to our waiters attention. I still love the vibe, just not sure if I would go back with a big group

Happy, festive atmosphere. Food was fantastic, service by all staff but specially by my waiter Thando was awesome. If I was local would frequent the restaurant frequently.

It was our first time at this restaurant, and we were very disappointed with our experience there! It was actually a Valentine's Date Night Special which you would think to get special treatment to mark the occasion however that wasn't the case! The restaurant wasn't even busy yet the service was so slow. The starter was the only tasty dish (Spicy Chicken Livers). Our mains were not good (steak), ordered medium. A good steak would melt in your mouth, when cut the knife should just glide through. This was like cutting rubber, and chewing it was just the same. I'd only eaten 2 tiny bites. The chips were also a bit sad, but veggies were tasty. Dessert was ok, lemon tart had the lemon flavour but an eggy taste was coming through as well, and the candied nuts mentioned were like tiny scraps on there. Good presentation of the food however misleading considering the taste of it. We had to wait a while to order drinks and receive it. We stay so often at the Elangeni Hotel, and it's sad to see that a restaurant like this is spoiling the good reputation of this hotel. May be it was just our bad luck to receive bad service and food on that night. Nevertheless, Very Disappointing service, won't be going back here.

Celebrated my sons 21st birthday and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!! Awesome experience, food was awesome, service by Vusi was awesome......top quality presentation....cocktails mouth watering 😋 but I'll let you decide from the photos

This is a very nice restaurant! The environment and atmosphere are so beautiful and nice. The servants are also very polite, kind, and attentive. The food, no complaints!! IT WAS NICE!! VERY DELICIOUS. I decided to take the Lamb Shank, with smashed potatoes and veggies. The Lamb was very delicious, well seasoned, and everything. And to drink I got the famous Strawberry Daiquiri, also very nice, but if you are a person who is not really into very sweet things, I don't recommend you this one, cuz as it gets to the end you will feel it getting even more sweeter. Unfortunately, I didn't have a dessert, but I'm pretty sure they are also nice. Food & service was absolutely amazing! Pinky was our waitress, was happy, friendly & attentive. 5star all round, the best dining out experience I’ve had in Durban.

We took my daughter out for a birthday dinner. Staff, Food and Atmosphere was excellent 👌 I definitely recommend you visit this place. The welcome drink is fantastic. The free buns and chutney is tasty. They also give a complimentary cake for the person celebrating they birthday. They really make you feel comfortable. Keep up the excellent work 👏 👍 👌

My heart is saddened writing this review... I love this restaurant and have been eating here for years. The kitchen works very hard at creating beautiful meals - but the front house staff and the ambience moves the restaurant from a five star to a two star. Lights flickering (this has been the case throughout this year - the management seems uninterested in fixing this) tonight, the wait staff began an altercation with my family about a R30 coffee... calling us liars (our bill was above R1000 - we were charged for a coffee we hadnt ordered) - the staff continued to humiliate us until pur departure... extremely heartbroken - I really loved this restaurant over the years... and travel a great distance to dine here... I will not be coming again

The food was delicious. Had prawns The waiters were welcoming, friendly and polite. The toilets are very clean. The music not too loud. The atmosphere joyful and private.

Mini Town is a hidden gem! The miniature city is impressive and very well designed, making it fun for both kids and adults. Walking around the small-scale models gives a different perspective and makes the visit truly enjoyable. It’s a perfect stop for families, school trips, or anyone curious to see Durban in a unique way. Definitely worth a visit!

Minitown is well looked after and we had a great time experiencing it. What makes it even more special is the fact that everything is run from a control room by trained staff. I'll definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

It was cute and a nice little stop for foreign visitors to Durban. As a Durbanite, i expected a little more, but still thought it worth the price. The detail in some of the set ups were pretty impressive and you can walk through the different 'exhibits' for a closer look. There is a facility to buy snacks and drinks. We've were there for about 30 minutes. Saw a school trip at mini town with a guide talking about some of the structures that represented building in Durban from a couple of years ago. That was a nice touch.

Really fun experience. There is a lot of small shops; harbour(with fish) and a airport. There is a very small tuckshop at the end.

It is a great spot for a casual and date night out. They offer a solid menu with tasty meals, a decent selection of craft beers for the beer lovers, and their margarita is a must-try – it's a killer! The atmosphere is lively and the service is generally friendly, making it a popular choice for locals in the area.

We went for dinner on a Friday night. Was nice and busy. Good vibe. Small space so does get noisy. The food was great. Bao buns were amazing, we had the sticky chicken ones. Only gave the service 4 star as they brought my husband the wrong main course, but corrected it quickly and then when the bill came there was an extra main course on it and a random charging of fries. But once pointed out they corrected that quickly too. The waiters were very sweet and attentive.

Stopped by for a few drinks. Did not really get a chance to have a full meal, just their jalapeño poppers which were good. Love the chilled vibes, and the staff were just so cool!

Best brasserie I had been to in ages. Large selection of craft beer. The staff is very informative, helpful and friendly. They described every drink with accurate detail. Very affordable. Only had the wings and they were nice as well. Loved the coating. The parking is quite small but we managed to get a spot before peak hour

Absolutely loved my night at Unity Bar & Brasserie in Musgrave! This local gem blends cosy, modern decor with lively energy—perfect for hanging out with friends. Their craft beer selection (including brews from THAT Brewing Company just down the road) was on point, and the sustainably sourced pub fare—like juicy burgers and Durban‑inspired curries—hit the spot every time . The service was warm and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcomed. On top of great eats and drinks, Unity hosts regular special events like beer tastings and live music that keep the vibe fresh and fun  . Add weekly specials (like their burger-and-beer deal) and the relaxed yet upbeat atmosphere, and you’ve got yourself a must‑visit spot in town

Went for the daily news cup.. I love that the place is always clean and neat... The toilets are clean as well... The staff at the play area should be kinder to the parents or grand parents there...

A good place for a fun night out. Cool relaxed atmosphere with great food options. The seating arrangement provides a lovely view of the race course. Kiddies activities are also available, making this a good place for a family outing. Ample safe and secure parking.

Lovely place, unfortunately I was there for work hence I didn't explore Greyville entirely. I'll definitely be going back there again given a chance.

It’s home to Africas greatest new sponsored Hollywood Bets Durban July! Sadly the state of the venue in places has gone rather rundown unlike the days of the Rothmans and VODACOM Julys that was a much better GREYVILLE! Most of the race railings around the track look bent and out of shape! Around the outside it’s not great either! Otherwise it’s still a superb experience going to this iconic place and enjoying good a good days racing, seeing the horses and their owners and relatives in the parade ring then taking your place in the grandstands enjoying panoramic views of the city and watching great action and the big rush of andrenalin as HORSERACING hits the finish! Also great for a market event and other entertainment given it’s superb nature! Just needs some TLC revamping and fixing the railings to their original condition. Just recently visited and some new change’s especially in the parade ring! The iconic and much loved kiosk building is sadly gone! They’re constructed a new but different structure that is completely something new! In the latest phones I’ve added, one can see the new structure and also a new arch at the entry and exit plus a new what looks like a winners enclosure! They’re repainted the buildings, stables and other structures in a black and white theme! When I was there recently, work was still continuing around the complex! The big screen I see in the parade ring is back! But my biggest thing about the revamp is why remove that iconic building in the parade ring? That is truly in my opinion a very intergral part of this world famous racecourse! I’m sure other people and upset about removing something so iconic! Otherwise Greyville remains a great venue to come and enjoy a day at the races and and being outdoors in such a beautiful place!

We battled to find the place initially - since it was our first visit - but well worth the hunt! View was 😍😍😍 and the bunny chows were delicious. I ordered the beans bunny and my husband ordered the butter chicken bunny chow. Didn't taste much like butter chicken but it was a delicious curry and we both thoroughly enjoyed them! The "Passion Pleasure" cocktail was also delicious!!

Panaroma Bar has stood the test of time. It’s still a lovely poolside venue with ocean views. The platters are good too, if you can get someone to serve you. It took 30 min just to get some menus, and another 20 to receive drinks. The food was delicious (once it eventually arrived!). Luckily we had time to kill, so we tolerated the poor service or lack thereof. Otherwise we would have walked out with the other patrons who weren’t served.

On this beautiful winter day in Durban with plenty of sunshine, I decided to enjoy lunch at the Panorama Bar at the Elangeni Maharani Hotel. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated outside on the stunning deck, offering breathtaking views of Durban's coastline. Our waitress, Samke, was attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt Welcome from the start. She took our drink orders quickly—my piña colada was beautifully presented and refreshingly delicious, served within a reasonable timeframe. My friend, who was driving, ordered a Coke, as he couldn't indulge in alcohol. We considered ordering two pizzas and decided to start with one, planning to order the second halfway through. The Mexican pizza was visually enticing and immediately beckoned us to dig in. It was generously sized and delicious. Halfway through, we were so satisfied that our attentive waiter understood and kindly held off on placing the second order. Samke’s friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and extensive menu knowledge made our experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely return to this fantastic spot. Overall, it was a memorable and delightful lunch experience.

Absolutely stunning views of the Durban beachfront from here. Beautiful set-up around the pool area. Fantastic cocktails. Friendly & efficient waitress. The only downfall was the food. 3 of the 4 people in our group ordered burgers with chips. The burger buns & chips were stale. Chips tasted like it was made a few hours earlier, reheated & served to us. Very disappointing for a 4-5 star hotel.

Service was very great. The menu was limited,so I went to their other restaurant on the Maharani thanks to our friendly waiter.

After waiting for 35mins, the Bunny Chow was certainly not worth the wait. Did not taste freshly prepared.

Just wow. 45mins for drinks to be delivered. There was apparently and ice issue. The mojkto was basically a mouth full of lime seeds and the strawberry daiquiri had an identity crisis... no strawberries went into the making of this. Classic hotel bar. Nice view, but wouldn’t bother.

Great museum featuring some great exhibitions on Durbans history. The staff were welcoming and helpful! A little small, so hoping it could showcase more in the future but the historical photographs were incredible. Amazing quality for their time and showcasing an important time in South Africa’s history in foregrounding families and real people affected by apartheid forced removals. The HIV/AIDS showcase is one of the most thorough and expressive medical histories I’ve ever attended.

Great little Museum! In less than an hour you’ll get a good feeling for what life would have been like in Durban for people discriminated against during apartheid. The fact that this is the actual pass office makes it really tangible! The buildings are well kept and entrance is indeed free.

Most of all, it offers a beautiful setting and the waterfront location provides a picturesque backdrop for photos and relaxation. The downside is that during peak times, the wharf can get quite crowded, which might affect the overall experience and certain areas could benefit from better upkeep, especially in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.

A nice place to hang out for at any time to watch what is going on in the harbor. I stayed at the Mozambique at the far end of the complex close to the water. Waiters are helpful.. Food is tasty and the chili sauce spicy

One of my favorite places to be, with so many food choices to eat at, to the beautiful view of the bay. With many activities like boat rides, fishing or just relaxing listening to music. Some of the restaurants you can eat at are spur, mozambik, julios, John dory's, house of curry's. Perfect place to spend the afternoon of a sunny day

It's been years since I've been to Wilson's Wharf. There a few restaurants that include Spur, Mozambique and John Dory's on the peer side. The main entrance has 1 restaurant that serves drinks too. However the many stalls and little shops that use to be inside are quite sparse. Only boat trips seem to make this area an attraction and if people are within the area looking for something to eat, go to these restaurants. A landmark in Durban that truly needs to be revamped. For myself and the many older people that once came to this bustling full of life spot, it is a sad decline. 🥺

10/10 for the boat cruise. The food at Spur was delicious. The staff is very friendly. However, the fact that its absolutely filthy is concerning. You can literally take 5 guys, 5 net scoops and plastic bags and they'll have it cleaned within a few hours. There's trash everywhere. Between the boats, in ramps, floating all over the place. This really is sad to see that's there's no respect for the ocean and the wharf. What does management even do? It's a big eye sore and would look beautiful if the bottles and plastic would just be picked up. There were a lot of people from over seas and their remarks alone wasn't great due to the filth scattered about. Please do something about this ASAP.

Really a must visit in Durban! Many great restaurants, will a super cool view. Buy some bread from a local shop and feed the fishies while you wait

Staff is super friendly and helpful. Didn't have food, just enjoyed the drinks. A little pricey though. Drinks are very strong. Awesome venue and ideal for large groups, but also works for couples. Remember to organise an Uber!

Unacceptable service from 031 at Ballito Farmers Market. Email sent on 20th May and no response. See email below. Morning Distillery 031 I understand there is new ownership, so I’m unsure of who I’m talking to. I wanted to give you an insight into the issue that arose from the female that was situated at your station on Saturday at Ballito Farmers Market. Firstly, when we approached the bar she had her feet up on the bar, talking on the phone, vaping. She didn’t even look at us when we wanted to order, so I presumed she didn’t work there. A young man from the food outlet next door came across and apologized. It was all a bit awkward to be honest. Without going into too much detail about the circus that then ensued in the making of the drink; working out which syrup should be used, getting the blender to work etc, etc when the drink arrived, it did not resemble a Mojito by any stretch of the imagination. Brown slush with no taste. It was obvious the people working the bar wouldn’t be interested in any feedback as they hadn’t been interested in taking the order in the first place and there was no way I was going to drink it, I went to order something else from the bar next door, which was manned by friendly, attentive and well put together staff, who actually wanted to serve their customers. On my way across to them, I put the drink back on your counter and politely said to the female “you can keep that thanks, it’s terrible.” Still sitting behind the bar, she yelled at me that I was very rude. I told her I think selling a terrible cocktail is very rude and attempted to carry on with my order at the bar next door. A barrage of insults came out of her mouth, until I walked away with my very decent Margarita from next door. A few minutes later, she arrived at my table with R60 (I really didn’t need a refund), where she continued to insult me for several minutes, in front of my daughter and a bar area packed with market customers, refusing to leave us alone until I turned my back on her and she finally walked away. I have honestly never seen anyone behave so atrociously in my 30 plus years in the service industry. Not only does it put 031 (historically a great brand) in a very bad light, but also Ballito Farmers Market, who are doing an incredible job for our community. I look forward to your feedback.

Excellent service, everyone who works here is knowledgeable, attentive and excited about the product. The drinks are delicious and unique. Recommend the gin fizz. The food is the bomb. The slaw, the burgers, masterful and innovative use of flavor. Definitely give this place a try.

Authentically local. Amazing food and beer. Feels like you belong. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Clean, tidy dining area and bar. Parking is a little difficult to find when it's busy so rather carpool or uber especially if you're going to drink. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Definitely a place to keep going back to.

Quite a unique experience for Durban. Hipster-style bar in the likes of Cape Town bars we've seen for a while, but new to Durban. The gin - produced on-site, is delicious. Situated in the up and coming Station Drive, check it out on First Thursdays or on the weekend.

Good atmosphere, drinks are ok. One time we went and the music was just way too loud so it didn’t seem like a chill place to sit and chat without screaming. During the day was Perfect.

Eyadini is a great place and it has so much potential in bringing more crowd, I think new think they have to introduce new music and different types of Dj's and also competitions for the people who randomly support them.

Today August 10th 2025, went to Eyadini knowing it for tourist attraction all the way from Jozi thinking we will get nice vibes it was so dry and quiet, we were literally the only ones , Bought drinks and meat we couldn't even finish it there , we had to move else where because it was too boring. Food 7/10.

We received warm welcome at Eyadini. The reception was so amazing, we felt as if we are in our own province EC. The service we received was "wooow" Thank you so much Eyadini Staff.

I feel Eyadini is overrated & expensive! Maxi's set the bar real high the night before, they are cheaper & ya, I was disappointed at Eyadini. Maybe I will have the chance at a better night at Eyadini 🤷🏽not all their bad though, it was pouring with rain that night...but it was also pouring the night of Maxi's, but they had us covered😄

Great vibey place to be at. Great food and it's a really nice spot. Although alcoholic prices are a bit costy, but it's still affordable. This place is great for groups. The toilets are too busy and very small. That's the only fault I can pick up. Other than that, we really enjoyed and I highly recommend it if you're visiting Durban.

The DJ was truly electrifying. I danced and did not get tired. The energy us really great as well. An open air place with great music, space to move about, people who are keen to have a good night, no airs whatsoever is always a must recommend in my book!

This has to be one of the best places to visit...ever! The team delivering the food, drinks and entertainment are very professional and very warm and inviting. Choose your dishes and then these are then beautifully cooked on the braai/barbecue and the guys there are always happy to say hello. Its hot back there but they produce some fabulous tasty food. Having visited numerous times over the last 10 years, this is a firm favourite on visiting Durban and the venue just keeps growing. Well worth a visit...

Max's is really beautiful and classy. So much order and it is clean. I am not a groove person but I can come here to unwind anytime. There is everything for everyone. The VIP is not expensive starting from R200, but you can manage to find a private space in the 'general' section. This place is super safe and orderly! From parking to everywhere inside. The only thing I didn't enjoy is how long it takes to pay for drinks! There are people who pack and arrange your drinks after you order, but you wait for too long queueing to pay 🙄

It was awesome, it is very big and spacious.. love the space . We payed for VIP which was a bit boring and super hot , kindly fix or install Aircon especially because Durban can be super hot .Kudos to the security, they awesome ,quick and good looking 😊. I was not please with the male security at the door who wanted to body search us ...that is disgusting and ofcoz we denied rather the lady security do it , so look out for that bad behaviour otherwise I loved it ...and would definitely do it again when visiting

It was my first time visiting Max's Lifestyle. We went on a Tuesday ,midday, it was pleasantly quiet. The service was prompt, meat was good...the raw tomatoes, chilli and onion chutney look a bit 'tired' but was tasty. Everything was good. The staff we were willing to show us around, and gave struct instructions, not to take photos in the empty VIP area. They have ample parking, helpful and attentive staff. Worth visiting for the township expirience. They have an inhouse hair salon, clothing shop etc. Please note that your meat order is placed at the counter, weighed according to your specification/s, paid for upfront before it is braai'd / prepared for you. Drinks are also paid for upfront before being served. You will have a waiter assigned to your table as per the norm.

Certainly had the best time of my life. This is a place for all people of different cultures and backgrounds to come, enjoy good food and entertainment, and have fun. The African food was the best, better than my American food 😅. I really had fun and enjoyed my time. I will certainly come back.

1st time visit and I REALLY enjoyed it. Irregardless of the drama that unfolded between the security guards and the customers. I think there should be a time frame of when free entry ends, you can't make an announcement now and put it in to place immediately, those who were inside and maybe left to go to the car and suddenly they have to pay an entrance fee. Either than that I genuinely enjoyed my night there. Even the food was really good.

24 October 2024 This must be my second time coming here after 10 years ago. It is refreshing and you get in touch with nature. The dad part is that when we went close to the beach the effects of waste was visible. There was waste all over and I wish us people can understand how our ignorance and lack of empathy for the Environment is bringing harm. I enjoyed the tour and was reminisce about when I came here for the first time.

Beautiful and educational outdoor experience near the city. The reserve is usually closed and only accessible/open once a month every 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am to 1pm. Entrance is free and there are lots of volunteer park rangers walking around interacting and educating the public. Addition there is also an initiative to encourage people to help clean up the litter on the beach. The entire walk is on a wooden raised train. The trail will roughly take you 45min and is flat. Great family venue.

If you are around Durban and looking for a place to chill, Havana is the place. Very chilled and accommodative. We had a great time as usual.

Juvenile Amongst other things...the staff at the upstairs bar are absolutely ignorant and lack training. To "SAB" please train the staff here to understand that when poring draught beer in a glass, to understand that there is a HEAD that goes with it. When I requested one, I was practically beheaded for requesting one by the barman. Please teach on the- Perfect Pour. An example is uploaded from a Striped Horse Lager Draught Perfecly Poured glass- Kali, Umhlanga...

It's fun yes but always be vigilant for pickpocketers there they have many styles just be careful who you shake hands with. Always check your belongings 😂 rather don't bring valuables. Either than that it's top notch place for night life fun.

Awesome place, just need some service order

If the weather is great, the Golden Mile is one of the best places to take a leisurely walk solo or with some company. There are also enough piers for one to be overcrowded. It's also a great place for cycling or learning to cycle/skate/rollerblade... I found it long enough from one end to the other for cycling. There are parts of the mile that aren't well kept though, which is sad.

Its a beautiful n fairly pleasant walk. At times it has a nasty smell, which can make it rather unpleasant. Lots of activity, joggers, cyclists, skateboarders etc.

The Roma Revolving Restaurant hosted us on 28 June 2025 in celebration of my husband’s 50th birthday. It was truly an elegant and memorable dining experience with food that was faultlessly prepared and presented. The hallmark of the evening was certainly the table side preparation of the Chateaubriand and Crepes Suzette, for which Roma is renown, expertly executed by the famous Gino. I last visited Roma in 2014 and now more than 10 years later it remains the Grand Madame of fine dining in Durban. The Roma staff are par excellence adding to the elevated experience.Together with the views offered by this location, these are the ingredients for an exceptional evening out. This grand lady could however do with a refresh to ensure that she doesn’t lose her brilliance. Nonetheless thank you Roma Revolving Restaurant for a wonderful evening.

Beautiful setting with Italian music and a retro vibe with breadsticks and sweet bread served while you wait for the meals to be prepared. Expect to wait for service as this is not a restaurant to visit when you are in a hurry. Appreciate the 360° view of Durban from this revolving restaurant which is one of only 3 in the southern hemisphere. One rotation of the restaurant takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Definitely worth a visit.

Last visited Roma about 10 years ago! I am happy to say that the service has improved a lot! Foods were all delicious. And we had an overall great time. A 10% service fee was added to the bill, but it was clearly visible, so that is all right with me.

I was transported to the 70s/80s which was very interesting and fun. For dinner, I had the orange glazed duck which was tasty and something different for me. The muscle starter was also nice. The sponge cake dessert was a bit underwhelming though and overpriced. Overall a nice experience.

The food is great, out of this world, actually. Before I complained about the service, it was horrible. After I expressed how ridiculous it was, everything went smoothly.

After an exploration of the Durban promenade this little Cafe/restaurant popped up and mind you Durban was sizzling hit yesterday. As we arrived, we were greeted by David and our drinks orders taken, we had really only come in to quench our thirst. David explained to us that they had revamped and gave us a quick run down or happy hour specials and the buffet special at their new breakfast spot right at the top of the Bellaire hotel called Sunset Lounge. Overall experience was great and now we have a new spot for drinks and breakfast.

Service from the staff was not that bad. We had a smash burger, wings (which were great)with fries but the fries were stale and my overall experience was not satisfactory. Hopefully they will improve.

Nice place to chill and have a few drinks with friends. The vibe is to die for.

Beware of Thirupathi Spices I got robbed by the owner.4 Small packets of spices and 3 cokes for R 270.00.In JHB a pack of these spices is around R 20.00 each.Check before you Tap.Other shops told me im not the first,they over charge the tourists.

Good prices for authentic traditional jewelry, clothing and gifts. Not very busy. But too little parking. Very unsafe to park outside as metro police enjoy giving tickets and bully car guards rule the place, especially around the fish market. If you want to buy beaded stuff, come here and also bargain because it's one tenth the price you would pay elsewhere. There's also plenty spice shops. Plan to spend 1 - 2 hours here.

We arrived late morning and it was very quiet in the market. The parking was good as well as service facilities. All the stores displayed mainly touristy items. An interesting morning but would be better to go early. Definitely visit the spice shop and Aunty Pam's food store both excellent.

Nothing like advertised ; you are bullied into buying and when you say no they continue to push. Dirty and very dodgy even our uber driver wasn’t happy going there. They see the tourists coming and bullshit you into buying spices at expensive prices , I almost had a heart attack

Seeing that today they were hosting a Fashion show, they should have closed business to tend to that. Everything fell short for us as customers. I don't know if the place is under new management or what? but the food was lack luster, stock was a problem so there were many substitutes for a set meal on their Menu. The staff tried their best but i could see that the problem is Managerial. The place still has great potential, they just need to DO BETTER!

We had the most delicious platter of traditional Ethiopian dishes including tibs and injera this evening. Talented chef, Mahalet Talahun is the lady behind this awesome food and owner Alazar is an extremely gracious host. Freedom Cafés coffee is, to me, the best in Durban. Very chilled vibe in a hidden gem in Greyville.

Beautiful set up nesting under a massive tree. One feels this closeness with nature as you sip on your morning cappuccino and take a bite of your freshly prepared breakfast. The staff are very friendly and professional. The menu is uniquely put together taking into consideration the modern individual with a need to eat healthier food. Fresh vegetable juices are prepared as you wait. Certainly one of my favourite cafés in Durban. There are high bar chairs inside as well as outside relaxed seating. Ample safe secure parking and a play area for smaller children.

The ambiance is exquisite and everyone is incredibly friendly. Staff are well trained and very hospitalable. We had breakfast here and it was amazing. The place itself is incredibly picturesque and beautiful. Truly a tranquil little gem snuggled in the busy city. 10/10 would recommend.

Went to Freedom Cafe on Sunday, left very underwhelmed. The location was okay, we sat at the outside seating at the back since the front was busy. Our waiter was a pleasant guy, he visited the table often but never stayed long enough to get everything we wanted so we found ourselves calling on him often. Our food left alot to be desired. . . I was not a fan of the Macon in the Omelette, odd flavour and very fatty. **The bathrooms need a little refresh. I would go for a drink in the front area, however they wouldn't be on the top of my list of places to go agian.

I was in Durban on Vacation, we made a turn to Freedom Cafe for breakfast, we ended up sitting there the whole day, iv never set at a restaurant for more than 8 hours.... we had to cancel all our plans scheduled for that day, we were so comfortable, it's such a private and beautiful space... the deco inside and out, modern yet vintage style... I LOVE IT.! The hospitality, the respect from the staff, it's out of this world... uMadlamini served us from morning until evening never got tired of our demands, with her beautiful personality and smile . I will highly recommend this place to everyone I know that would be visiting Durban. Thank you so much for making my day such a beautiful experience. I was there on the 3 Nov 20019.

TL;DR - Not going back. I have been wanting to eat at Freedom Cafe for sometime now and I must say that it was very disappointing. They did not have avocado, mushroom and orange juice available - that cuts out a lot of breakfast options. The waiter then suggested a fruit blend juice which tasted like syrup diluted in water (we wanted fresh juice; as it appeared on the menu). We also ordered an iced coffee which was pathetic. After sitting outside for a while we asked to move indoors as the seats were dirty and it was a windy day. It was a blistering, humid day of 34 degrees and the air-con was not working. At this point we were concerned about the quality of the food. Luckily the food was decent. This along with the service provided by the waiter has resulted in a 2-star rating. If not for these two things I would not have given any (if that was possible).

I had high hopes for authentic Indian food, but this was the worst experience I've had in Durban during my 3-day stay. I ordered the chicken roti for R140, and it was a complete letdown — tasteless, dry, and the roti was so hard it felt inedible. I was starving, but after one bite, I lost all appetite. The staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciate, but the food was shockingly bad. I genuinely felt sick after trying it. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

From the time I visited a couple of years ago, the place has deteriorated quite substantially. Toilets too are not clean and smell and are in need of a serious upgrade. Too loud music. A definite avoid

Had dinner here 2 nights in succession. The place was quiet as it was midweek. Service was a bit slow but I got served. As a newcomer to this establishment, you need to go to the doors to the left of the bar to order take away or sit down and a waitron will eventually find you. Foodwise, I had a bunny on both days. Day 1 was a boneless lamb bunny which was excellent. I didn't enjoy the complimentary veg pickles. I felt that the spices were a little raw. Day 2 was a prawn bunny. I found it to not be as good as the lamb and should I go back, I definitely won't order this. I also found the spices to be non-complimentary for this dish.

The curries are always top notch. Try out the roti. We especially enjoy the chip and cheese with lamb curry sauce, and extra sauce on the side. It is huge, though to fill two people, or one supersized hungry rugby player! The bar is a nice touch for evenings or a drink while you wait if you're getting takeaway.

It was alittle too hot inside but that was fine because we sat next to a window. Really enjoyed the food. It was really filling. The waiter was kind and polite. The place looked really nice and they played some good music. O do feel like they need to expand their menu.

This is really good pub grub. We we pleasantly surprised with how fast the meals were prepared, the limited waiting time made us happy chappies once we tasted the food,we were in absolute bliss. It was a warm, sunny day so we opted to sit outside.

The place is okay, I expected a bit more. The first time we tried to visit this place end of last year, we got terrible service so we walked out before we could even order. We decided to give it another try. Our waitress Jingles was exceptional. However the food wasn’t, it wasn’t bad but we’ve definitely had better burgers. The burgers were dry and just needed more. The chips and onion rings were good though. They seem to have good specials as well. I’ll give them a 6/10

I was so disappointed by their ribs yesterday I went there and bought myself rib 600g and 6 wings aside as a take away the ribs were extremely dry I ordered as a take away their fries where burnt and their onion rings did not taste fresh even the oil that was used was like they used old oil that have been used repeatedly , the ribs had no basting didn’t taste grilled at all more or less deep fried ribs than being grilled it was like it was rotten ribs I was not happy to think I even tipped the waiter if only I set and ate my food did not order as take away I would have been able to complain to the manager the food preparation there is not great value for money I’ve never been so disappointed as a restaurant reviewer on tik tok I was so disappointed !

Funny because I underestimated this restaurant passing by. But something drew me in and I'm in LOVE !!!! I kid you not, this is the best restaurant on Florida Road, Durban. Ambiance and service is top tier. The food we had was prepared very well and portion sizes are impressive. My lunch date with my best friend here was one of the best dates.

A great park to have in an ideal location. This park has been around for a long time and is much needed for the surrounding folk and even neighboring communities Sufficient well spaced parking under great shaded trees. The area is a safe place to travel to and easily accessible. The whole that surrounds the park is well kept with high level maintenance. The facilities at the park is in need of some attention, especially the toilet. There can be an addition to the present and also greater upkeep and repairs. The Pick & Pay Hypermarket is close by and provides for an ideal opportunity to shop for all the necessary. Great to see the park still well supported. Also ample play areas for kids and adults. Would highly recommend for a wonderful experience

Always a peaceful experience walking around the gardens, visiting the little lakes.. Its always quite busy, but luckily we managed to get parking. Great for families, with a large jungle area, or just a walk out in nature

A beautiful place, it was my first visit of many. The place needs attending to. As a Horticulturist I saw places of improvement such as the pond, swings, parking space, more activities, and functional garden themes... Guys come on. But our stay was good 😊.

Still stays true to the original Japanese design theme. It does need some maintenance. Even so, it's a popular party venue. While there we saw 2 baby showers & 2 birthday parties around us. Good facilities. Nice playground for the kids. Get there early to secure a good picnic spot.

It is still a lovely place to visit with families, but it hasn't lost its charm over the years, although it did go through a phase of neglect.

It has a vintage feel to it, very clean. Quite a few monkey's there, that made me so uncomfortable. The monkey's didnt bother us though. It was fairly clean, I'd say the upkeep is as good as it could possibly considering the municipality as a whole never takes care of anything, but its much better than most parks.

What was once a beautiful place has now deteriorated. lack of maintenance. Grass over grown, trees not pruned. Kids Play ground equipment broken. The koi pond has debris. The water features are all dried up. The crossing bridge at the pond is demarcated with red tape as all the floor boards are broken. Very disappointed.

It was lovely to drive 30min from Durban and do a nature hike with a 4yr old and see zebra, rooibok and little duikers. The reserve needs some attention but everyone we met was friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a very nice hike there. However, they don't have any printed maps to give you at the gate, and the large map is so faded that you can't clearly see the different hikes and lengths of each hike. We went with 2 small children, and although the hike itself was good, we did take a few wrong turns, as it's not clearly marked. The map situation and markers need to be upgraded urgently.

Not a bad reserve, we'll used and needs some work but amenities relatively clean. Was able to see both bushbuck, and a herd of about 5 zebra while walking

I like the forest, it intense, green and safe. They just need to put more directions for trails, especially red trail.

Went there on a Wednesday evening at around 9pm (Google shows that they close at 11pm) and sat at the bar. Bartender greeted us and said he would be with us shortly and thereafter proceeded to the other end of the bar, we tried to get his attention thereafter and he said that he would be with us shortly. Thereafter he made every attempt to ignore us. Eventually another waiter came to us after seeing us trying to get the attention of the bartender and informed us that the bar will be closing at 21:30. Wasted 15minutes of our time there. Bar had a total of 5 people inside. Not disappointed, just irritated at the level of service received.

Was here for a quick and easy meal. Served our needs. Nice vibe for a Saturday night. Thank you.

Very disappointed by the service. They ruined my date night. I actually feel being robbed by the staff. So sad. We ordered food and drinks and paid. They delivered half the food, then have us ordering more drinks while waiting for the rest of the meals which eventually never showed up. At closing time we are given a condescending apology and asked for our email. And until today no contact nor refund was made.

Absolutely disgusting customer service!!! Got there to watch the T20 World cup cricket game which was starting at 13-00. Got there a little earlier and was told that they would open at 12-30. Stood outside waiting to get in. Asked if they were going to show the cricket and was told yes. Finally open and when get seated were handed the remote for a TV to put the cricket on. Politely asked the waiter if they would put the sound on in order for us to hear the commentary while the game was on as there were not many people in at the time. After a few minutes the supervisor shouts from behind the counter that we cannot put the sound on in a very abrupt manner!!! And that if we wanted to place an order we could. Why have sport on in the first place if you not going to have the sound on and why say Yes if asked if a particular sport was going to be shown!!! Used to like going there for the pizzas but the service is gone down the drain!!! Won't be visiting this place in a very long time!!!

A little bit let go but I can imagine a whole lot of kids enjoying themselves here. Having been existing for quite a number of years, kids grow up and bring their children here. We did the cableway and although our hearts raced at the height, it was worth the beautiful view of funland and the ocean. We got a beautiful photo of ourselves on the ride for only R30

I know it's closing in May 2023 but I can see why. The stench of urine on the walls, the leaking ablutions on the roadside and the vomit on the stairs is enough to chase any possible holiday maker. It's sad that the pools in the front haven't been filled in more than 6 years, probably because they would be used as toilets or laundry facilities. Durban is in a very sad state.

For only 50 rands you will do on a fun ride with an amazing view of the waterfront! Yes it is 100% worth it. Just buy a ticket at the ticket booth and a guy will take a picture of you in a professional camera. When you come back down, he will already have it printed out in three different paper. 90 rand for the three of them, he can even send you the pictures by WhatsApp. Great experience!

Its a nice place to be at with the kids, the rides are fun and they have rides for both kids and adults but it can be so crowded and i wish they can add more exhilàrating rides

Wonderful & helpful reception from securities at the entrance, wide range of books & dvď's to choose from not to mention dvd's, restrooms available, wheelchair accessible, cash & cards accepted, great place to familiarize kids who are already at school due to kiddies section provided downstairs at the library. No food allowed inside however close few eating outlets.

Amazing Public gallery hosting beautiful exhibitions from local and international artists. The gallery is over 100 years old. It is on the 2nd floor of the City Hall building. It also hosts artwork from the 15th century. The diversity of the gallery makes for accurate representation of the man histories of the KZN region.

Amazing music brought to patrons with the best musicians in town accompanied by top quality sound, lighting and decor. Safe parking, bar and food on site is also available. The bonus is the opportunity to bring your own food, set up a pre-concert picnic with the family & friends Never been disappointed yet. Well worth the visit.

Super musicians with the story on the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, and the bands 10th anniversary to boot. Great show, very cosy venue and reasonable food and beverage prices. Makes supporting local musical acts easy and affordable at R150 for a 2 hour show. Can say a new outing but worth it and I will look forward to the next act.

Really lovely theatre run by a war veterans initiative. Simple, tasty reasonably priced meals and casual bar. Venue frequently hosts well curated live shows and banging musical performances with talented actors and musicians- great fun! Relaxed and casual vibe. Hall is powerfully air conditioned, but on site parking is limited.

Excellent show! Watched The British Invasion bringing back all the top UK hits. The Rhumbelow is a real gem hidden in Umbilo.

We went as a group and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was awesome that they have aircon as it was very hot. The Fleetwood Mac show was excellent 👌

The space is brilliant for art exhibitors. The gallery is small wil some fine pieces. There is plenty of seating space for patrons and even a stage area. On the other hand the Cafe is average at most. The food is freshly prepared, but the portions and are miserly plated. Don't let the sent of coffee brewing fool you, the coffee is substandard. Visit to support the art movement and a quick nibble.

KZNSA (KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts) blends crisp, subtropical modernism with a relaxed, community feel. The street face is pared back—whitewashed brick, slim steel frames, big glass—and along the garden edge deep louvered screens and a light canopy cast patterned shade, creating that easy inside–outside flow. Inside, the tall white-cube gallery is calm and flexible; the shop stacks up like a creative loft with a steel mezzanine; and the café runs through a long, high space with stepped brick flooring and beautiful, filtered daylight. I went specifically to get some work done and it delivered. The Wi-Fi was solid and there were plenty of people on laptops, which gave the place a focused, productive energy. The outdoor terrace is shaded and easy-going—perfect for catching up with friends between tasks. I had a light meal (pretty good) and the chocolate cake was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive; the waiters were great. Verdict: As a café/art centre combo, it’s welcoming, unpretentious, and well designed—good shade, good air, good sightlines. I’m giving it 3/5 for now, not as a knock on the venue, but because I haven’t sampled enough of the menu to make a full five-star call yet. I’ll update after a few more visits.

A beautiful gallery to visit with new exhibits regularly on display. The accompanying shop has an excellent variety and range of truly African craft on offer and you’re guaranteed to find something to take home. The cafe and restaurant serves a lovely offering well presented and priced with vegetarian options. Definitely worth a visit.

The best cricket stadium in Durban, South Africa. Took my daughter for the first time to a cricket match. SA vs Pakistan. SA won. No parking at the stadium during match days. Food and beverage sold inside. Wheel chair friendly. Shaded and non shaded areas available. Kids friendly. No glass items, beverage allowed. Sometimes no food is allowed as well. Grass area and braai spots available. Amazing stadium for the entire family, just clean fun in the sun.

Huge old beautiful building with big open parks for people to relax on. Historical statues well built. You can spend a day with breath taking air on the park right in the city center of Durban

Inside city hall, there's a public library and in addition to that, there's a museum with many different animals to see and learn about. There's even an art gallery too. The museum is truely a hidden gem that appears to be newly renovated. There's so much information to learn from. It's a wonderful experience and truely worth visiting, especially if you have kid's as it would really boost their knowledge and might spark interest of various thing's. Thumbs up for me. Both myself and husband were thoroughly impressed after visiting here.

An absolutely unexpected and thrilling establishment in the heart of the CBD. I’d been told that this is the place you go to when all other clubs across the city have closed for the night. I was also told not to have any expectations about this place. Going there, I expected little. Upon entry, eGagasini has a bar and lounge area… very cosy. As well as an LED-lit area on the side. But then… You head downstairs and uncover an underground treasure. A lounge area that could rival the best-rated club; a pool and hot-tub that make this club splendid. Apparently a fee of R50/hour is payable if you want to have fun in the pool or hot-tub. I’ve only ever been to this club post-midnight therefore cannot comment on the food, however, there is a shisanyama upstairs. The bartenders were efficient in attending to our needs. There are deejays performing from time-to-time but, with this being the heart of Durban, expect a dominance of Gqom. eGagasini is a must for everyone. Let loose and experience the thrill of Durban nightlife!

Beng'libe ngifuna ukuza la for such a long time finally I came... It was more that what I expected as my friends have told me. The music was fine still it could have been better, I think they played less hip hop song and I was disappointed, female waiters all bore me, they act like they are permanent at their jobs and go around helping VIPs only. It took me an hour to get my order after sengiye ku bar nga order to a male guy.

Nice place to take your family and relax while enjoying the beautiful view. I personally really enjoy fishing here especially under the bridge it's a good fishing spot.

The beach has a small promenade that you can sit and birds, the waves and just relax. There are vendors selling food, savoury and different drinks that are made fresh. Our favourite were the bajias and Veda’s. We also have enjoyed the great sugar cane juice and boiled mielies. Kids can play on the grass. Litter seems to be a problem, where some people don’t put the dirt in bins provided. You can also have a Braai.

If you into the afternoon drives, taking a stroll on the pier and indulging in things like fried mealies, fried sweetcorn, sugarcane juices, and so much more then this is for you. You can even spend the whole day at the area and have a braai or picnic. It's perfect for a family can you can even take your dogs for a walk here. It's mainly for the weekends has thats when the stalls are opened

The weather was perfect that day and it was great to see the river flowing freely. Unfortunately, the later in the day you go down there the more you'll deal with taxis packed to the brim with passengers - music blaring, which spoils the ambience of the relaxing spot. But choose your time and it's perfect. Good food.

Nothing there just beach and pools for kids

It's very disappointing. Beach isn't clean , and it needs a very big clean. The grass island is also dirty. There is so much potential at this Beach. Expect random to come up to asking for money for their shelter, generally just for money and cigarettes if they see you smoking. No fishermen in site, used to normal to see people fishing. Could smell a little bit of sewage from the sea, not as bad as before, thou.

A God-given promenade that offers a multitude of activities. From deep-sea boat launch 'pads', off shore fishing, water skiing, kite skiing, walking/running/cycling on the promenade, exercising and body toning workouts... and so much more. We enjoyed an exceptional warm-up and a good brisk walk in the morning. Security has been spruced up and is clearly visible, with regular patrols on bicycles, motor bikes, and 4 x 4 bakkies. A span of culinary outlets for your sunrise breakfasts, midday lunches, and awesome sunset dinners. Your palette cravings from Continental and Cultural cuisines can be found along this East Coast paradise. Durban, where the fun never sets.

A trio of friends walked the length of Durban beachfront recently before dawn, and all 3 were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and maintenance evident by our municipality. There was not a single piece of litter or debris. All lights lamppost and route markers working and public restrooms were on and functional- and all grassed areas were manicured. The area in front of UShaka a particular revelation with a cleaner truck in action. Current eThelwini municipality are really trying hard, and friends and families are once again clearly enjoying our amenities as it was packed. Giving kudos where it's due.

Durban is the cleanest I have seen it in years! A lot of police presence and a lovely vibe with people running, walking, cycling, swimming, etc.

I love this promenade, it is wide and you not feeling so crowded. This time wasn't much beggers too

Got to see a luve baptism event in progress, it was raining while we were there.

The beach is clean compared to what I heard Not too crowded and very pleasant to visit with the lil ones

Cousins in tow, we did an early March walk along the beachfront—soft light, rollers coming in, runners and cyclists everywhere. We grabbed coffees from a kiosk, sat on the wall, and let the morning open up around us. Later the kids rented bikes and we cruised a flat section together. No agenda, just sea air and a lot of waves to point at.
