Had a great meal at On’s! The staff were lovely and the food was excellent, absolutely massive portions! I had the Tom yum which came with tofu and veggies, and the ginger tea which was great too (super fiery and refreshing!). 100% recommend to people whether you’re vegetarian or not.

A vegetarian restaurant with many fully vegan options. The restaurant is located in the heart of Kanchanaburi’s backpackers street and caters mostly to foreigners. Seems they modify their dishes to fit foreigners palate which in my opinion really takes away from the authentic Thai flavor. The food is clean and portions are huge, prices are moderate. Good restaurant, just not my favorite.

Super restaurant. Very friendly, really tasty vegetarian food. Prices very reasonable. Can highly recommend the cooking course at 900 bhatt per person. As a 2 we did 8 dishes. Really fun and interesting 2 hours making dishes from the menu. And it tasted great. Come and enjoy.

After eating here several times, we decided to do the cooking class with On. We really wanted a real cooking lesson, in an intimate and warm environment to learn as much as possible and soak it all in - and it's not always easy when you're vegan! Best meal I had in Thailand! I had the curry fried rice at On’s Thai Issan, and it was the best dish of my whole trip. I am not even vegan, but the flavors were just perfect — rich, tasty, and spicy enough. The place is small and cozy, and the people are really friendly. If you're in Kanchanaburi, this spot is a must-try. Great food, great vibe!

When I went here I was eating the same food since a month and my mouth went in ecstasy for the entire night. Wow. Even if I'm a no-spicy person, I tried the Massaman curry and I loved it. My face was burning but I was still eating, such a great taste. Another good thing is the pineapple shake and the papaya salad is super fresh! The staff is kind and funny, we danced together and made a lot of videos. The service is a it slow but I appreciated the calm atmosphere. They don't run, the cook with love. Large area, great view and lots of seats and tables both indoor with AC and outdoor. Great place for family, friends, couple or work trip. Plenty of parking. Cafe is spacious and serves variety of drinks and cakes. Great food with good taste.

Tucked in the middle of nowhere, this restaurant is highly recommended if you are nearby. The food was authentic and tasted really good. And the place is huge! Pineapple rice had a special spice added to it. The cabbage although looked simple, it was well seasoned. The fried veggie was served with a really good unique sauce. The otah was out of the world. Only wish the fish was in the middle of the pot rather than the bottom. The coconut lime seafood soup was more sour unlike the usual milk coconut base. The river snail with veggies was also good. The curry had a spicy punch to it. Dessert was preserved mango which is apparently very hard to find even in Thailand!

Great spot for authentic Thai food in Kanchanaburi. This is in the same family of Keeree Tara River Kwai restaurant. We had Tom Yum Kung, fried snakehead fish with sour mango sauce, Khao Pad Kung, and fried spring rolls—all delicious and up to standard. The restaurant is huge, with a beautiful garden and an amazing mountain view. Service was excellent, and the place is super clean—you can tell they take hygiene seriously, even in the bathrooms. Plus, it’s reasonably priced—1,800 baht for two adults and two older kids. Highly recommended.

A very unique restaurant by the waterfront. Perfect for a date or family gathering. This place is usually packed but we came on a Tuesday night and it is a lot less crowded. The food is delightful and the service is excellent. Top notch.

Outstanding river front restaurant. Their foods are fantastic and delicious. There is a local mushroom called Hed Cone. It is a MUST to try. Fresh water fish, shrimp and others are quite good as well. The view is outstanding, seeing the River Khwae bridge. Wind is blowing nicely. Parking is limited. It is a bit difficult, but manageable.

Great view and atmosphere. Awesome food and service. We ordered local vegetable stir fry, Sun omelette (omelette with rice and shrimp) and fish tom yam. They were all tasty. The fish had no bone at all. Rice was good too, soft and warm. The desserts were great too. We ordered some-shun and tiny mango in syrup. Really love them. The music was very as well.

The best riverside restaurant in the area. Great atmosphere, good menu, nice staff and not crazy prices. The Tom Yum Egg Tofu is really good (never tried and seen it before). Fishes are affordable as well. My daughter loves her pasta as well.

We had morning glory (this is a given for every meal for us in thailand) and i had the Kaeng Liang Shrimp soup mild, which was still quite spicy but very tasty - just like i like it! Probably the night market with the largest offering in kanchanaburi. Love how most stalls offer small servings, so u can leave your stomach to try different foods. Be careful not to over-order as the temptations are real!

Great night market. Very convenient if you are staying in the River Kwai road area. On rainy nights the vendors may pack up early so plan accordingly. Pro tips: there is a Hoy Tod seller towards the back left corner that makes delicious food as well as a Laarb seller in the middle left. The sellers form a corridor that causes you to go around like a maze, I recommend that you do an entire lap and look at everything and then double back and make your purchases. Then if there is anything else you need you can hit seben right across the street. I go to this JJ market every time I visit Kanchanaburi now!

Such a good night market, there's almost anything for everyone. Too bad today is raining. You can get lots of great food, for almost every palate and every taste. Also the non food item stalls are a plenty... Will try come back if there is no rain. Really enjoyed my short time visiting.

This was a wonderful night market experience at Kanchanaburi! It was so nicely organized: food section, clothing section, jewelry section,.. The food was surprisingly variable and had a lot of tasty things to choose from. Decent size as well! Recommended!

Great food 😅 just make sure to leave some space until you completely done in the food area, some really nice tasty desserts and very very cheap. Head through a little earlier than when it's dark. I went late the night before and there wasn't as much food stalls as there was tonight.

This is a living history exhibit. The attraction depicts Thailand a little over 100 years ago. Employees play various roles in this community and dress according to the role they play. Visitors are invited to also dress in period clothing which can be rented on site for a small fee. There is a modest admission charge but each visitor receives the equivalent value in coins that can be used to interact with food vendors and shop keepers to purchase things. The coins actually encourage a deeper participation and learning experience as you see how the various classes of vendors dressed, lived, and worked. Foods are prepared as they were in the period. The recreation of a village was much more interesting than I expected. This is worth visiting. Plan at least 2 hours.

A beautiful touristic slice of old Thailand (Siam) beautifully kept gardens and enough information to learn about the culture and history. The dress up service is great and added to the experience. Out of the way but worth a visit and the staff are amazingly friendly

One of the nicest places I've seen in Thailand. It's so calm, clean and cozy. I felt like I'm in the old times. We had lunch there in the form of buffet and it was amazingly good.

A novel experience to pay things with their own 'old' currency. Place is huge and well maintained. Among the things we did were the multi-step process in rice milling -- good for our kids to know how things were done in the past. Great customer service.

An awesome underrated place! Very well organized "ancient city" layout, creative in display and presentation. Really worth the ticket. They use satang to display the prices for yummies inside (1 Satang - 50bht) . But can still pay with baht. Staffs are super friendly, they'll help take pictures for you and be your free modeling photographer with no add fees. (You can give thema worthy pocket money though) So many exhibitions of ancient and modern Thai to see. Really beautiful place inside with awesome architecture and planning. You get coupons also with the tickets that you can avail for yummies inside. Clean toilets everywhere inside and a free drinking water container with the old style cups. Highly recommend to visit. Should give about 1.5 hrs inside to walk and take pictures. Many trees and shades inside.

The food here was honestly the best I’ve had so far in Thailand, incredibly flavorful and fresh. That said, the service started off a bit disappointing. I asked for a table for two and was shown to a spot along the wall, off to the side of the main terrace. It took about 10 minutes before anyone even brought us a menu… We were clearly overlooked, probably because we weren’t seated in the main area. It was fairly busy, so I understand the pressure, but it was clear the staff struggled to keep up with the crowd. Once we were finally noticed, the service improved significantly and our food arrived in a reasonable time. All in all, a very positive experience thanks to the amazing food. But if the place is busy, be prepared for some delays in service.

Best food so far in Thailand. Ordered Khao Soi and was incredible!! You can ask for less spicy, but I strongly recommend to take the normal spicy level. It is not too much and honestly, it is how this food is supposed to be.

Lovely family-owned and operated restaurant. Great service and vibe. We had the Papaya salad, crispy pork and chicken green curry. All was delicious, though the green curry would’ve been better with a bit more coconut cream into the sauce, was a little watered down. Still good though. Pork crackling was proper crackling! Very affordable prices too. Overall great place to eat in this street.

Go here if you want to experience an authentic local Thai fresh market. Here you will find a lot of specialities like frog, rat and intestines. Good experience for a western tourist to come and see this and see how things work in this part of the world. There’s also a big fruit and vegetables section worth to see also.

An average market with many stalls but some how not many were opened when I was there. Instead, the road are packed with temporarily stall and sell almost just as many variety as the market itself.

I am a big fan of these Fresh Markets lived in the Philippines or stayed in the Philippines rather for quite a while and I got a accustomed to the daily shopping at what we called in the Philippines wet markets. Chicken pork beef all kinds of seafood along with kitchen Wares lots of produce just about anything you could want.

Great market, full of fresh vegetable and fruit. The prices are also good. The only thing is, you have to come in the morning, if you come later you can be disappointed as I was the first time.

This is a great restaurant in every way. Great ambience (chilled shady outdoor area), great staff, great food with very reasonable prices. They even have chilled beer glasses with ice frozen in the bottom (for those who ask & like their beer like that). Only reason not 5 stars is they toned down my dish so it was less spicy. Advice, if you like spicy Thai style, be very insistent!

Spicy , original and really delicious. The restaurant was clean beautifully decorated. 🍋If you ever go there do try their AMAZING 'mamuang namplawan smoothie' it's sublimeeeeeeeee.

Chef has a knack for bringing out all the authentic flavours of Thailand. Tod Man Koong was freshly made, fluffy and crisp. Tom Yum Koong was very spicy but delicious as was the Green Curry. Only complaint is that the green curry was a bit heavy on eggplants and light on pork.

A supposedly historic street that is flanked by buildings going back to before WW2, you can walk down this street and read about the story behind some of the buildings. There are Thai and English language boards. Our tour group brought us down here so it's quite an interesting walk, although nothing really spectacular.

It is really funny that many people/tourists find this railway and slow moving train is something so interesting, to the point of pushing forward to be as close as possible to the moving train. The train is moving really slow as the shoppers close their shops and free the railway track for the train to move. There is really nit much to see, other than this is the only place that we can get to be so close to a moving train. There are shops along the track and some food kiosks. The local fruits sold here are fresh and nice. I bought some red jambu, bali lemon and pink guava.

Great selection of food, drinks and dry goods. But the street needs to be opened up. It's to enclosed making it difficult to walk and see everything. Lose the driving lane and open it up. This will make it more enjoyable.

I missed the night market that only opens on Saturday. So it’s nothing special, old Chinese migration houses, it’s good to come to walk around to experience the local lifestyle, just 1 hour is enough. There are some nice vintage cafes to chill out.
