Vegan restaurant
On’s Thai-Issan Vegan is a popular plant-based eatery in Kanchanaburi, founded by On from Si Saket province. The restaurant offers a diverse menu of authentic Thai and Issan vegetarian and vegan dishes at affordable prices. In addition to dining, visitors can also take cooking classes to learn the art of Thai vegan cuisine from the patient and friendly master chef.
Delicious vegan dishes. We had the Red Curry, Tom Yum and Tempura Vegs. All dishes were beautifully seasoned and prepared with love. Also the portions are quite large for the price you pay. Priced very reasonably. To drink we tried the Hibiscus tea and Ginger tea (both cold drinks). Very refreshing. Highly recommend.
Carina — Google review
Had a great meal at On’s! The staff were lovely and the food was excellent, absolutely massive portions! I had the Tom yum which came with tofu and veggies, and the ginger tea which was great too (super fiery and refreshing!). 100% recommend to people whether you’re vegetarian or not.
Jordan F — Google review
A vegetarian restaurant with many fully vegan options. The restaurant is located in the heart of Kanchanaburi’s backpackers street and caters mostly to foreigners. Seems they modify their dishes to fit foreigners palate which in my opinion really takes away from the authentic Thai flavor. The food is clean and portions are huge, prices are moderate. Good restaurant, just not my favorite.
Guy B — Google review
A must-visit in Kanchanaburi! Delicious food with generous portions, friendly staff who can adjust dishes to your needs, and a cozy, homely atmosphere. They also offer Vegetarian cooking classes for just 800 THB (3 dishes + 1 dessert). My favorite spot in town!
Joanna K — Google review
Super restaurant. Very friendly, really tasty vegetarian food. Prices very reasonable. Can highly recommend the cooking course at 900 bhatt per person. As a 2 we did 8 dishes. Really fun and interesting 2 hours making dishes from the menu. And it tasted great. Come and enjoy.
Rob H — Google review
After eating here several times, we decided to do the cooking class with On. We really wanted a real cooking lesson, in an intimate and warm environment to learn as much as possible and soak it all in - and it's not always easy when you're vegan! On was super cute, fun and insightful! We learned a lot but above all we had lotsa fun, and the food was so so delicious! Thanks On for your knowledge and energy See you soon, Edo & Mario
Mario G — Google review
Best meal I had in Thailand! I had the curry fried rice at On’s Thai Issan, and it was the best dish of my whole trip. I am not even vegan, but the flavors were just perfect — rich, tasty, and spicy enough. The place is small and cozy, and the people are really friendly. If you're in Kanchanaburi, this spot is a must-try. Great food, great vibe!
Mohammed F — Google review
When I went here I was eating the same food since a month and my mouth went in ecstasy for the entire night. Wow. Even if I'm a no-spicy person, I tried the Massaman curry and I loved it. My face was burning but I was still eating, such a great taste. Another good thing is the pineapple shake and the papaya salad is super fresh! The staff is kind and funny, we danced together and made a lot of videos. The service is a it slow but I appreciated the calm atmosphere. They don't run, the cook with love. Thank you so much, see you next time♥️

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Keeree Mantra Kanchanaburi is a top dining destination in Kanchanaburi, offering traditional Thai cuisine in a picturesque natural setting. The restaurant's expansive open-air layout provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lake. Signature dishes like coconut milk fish curry and pineapple fried rice are highly recommended. Adjacent to the restaurant is Village Farm To Cafe, a modern wooden cafe with mountain views and delectable treats like melon cream chocolate bun and green melon frozen yogurt.
Had a wonderful lunch today at Keeree Mantra Restaurant. The view was stunning and the atmosphere was truly relaxing. The restroom was clean, and the staff were polite and provided excellent service. This place is also perfect for hosting events or even weddings. Most importantly, every dish was fresh, clean, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!
Life L — Google review
Large area, great view and lots of seats and tables both indoor with AC and outdoor. Great place for family, friends, couple or work trip. Plenty of parking. Cafe is spacious and serves variety of drinks and cakes. Great food with good taste.
Thitikan K — Google review
Tucked in the middle of nowhere, this restaurant is highly recommended if you are nearby. The food was authentic and tasted really good. And the place is huge! Pineapple rice had a special spice added to it. The cabbage although looked simple, it was well seasoned. The fried veggie was served with a really good unique sauce. The otah was out of the world. Only wish the fish was in the middle of the pot rather than the bottom. The coconut lime seafood soup was more sour unlike the usual milk coconut base. The river snail with veggies was also good. The curry had a spicy punch to it. Dessert was preserved mango which is apparently very hard to find even in Thailand!
TTT — Google review
Absolutely amazing Thai food and service! The staff really made a difference — warm, attentive, and so friendly, they made our dinner extra special. Me and my parents had such an enjoyable evening at this beautiful restaurant. The surroundings are spacious, with lots of greenery, giving it a calm and relaxing vibe. You must try the fried fish — it’s so good, crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavour. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to!

Great spot for authentic Thai food in Kanchanaburi. This is in the same family of Keeree Tara River Kwai restaurant. We had Tom Yum Kung, fried snakehead fish with sour mango sauce, Khao Pad Kung, and fried spring rolls—all delicious and up to standard. The restaurant is huge, with a beautiful garden and an amazing mountain view. Service was excellent, and the place is super clean—you can tell they take hygiene seriously, even in the bathrooms. Plus, it’s reasonably priced—1,800 baht for two adults and two older kids. Highly recommended.
Farid K — Google review
After a long day of traveling, we headed to this wonderful restaurant for lunch. It was crowded, but the space was spacious. The food was delicious and the service was impressive. 💙🙏

Another gem. Fantastic place for authentic thai cuisine. Verified by my thai friends who visited with me. Most commented that it is authentic, legit and true to their roots. I cannot remember the name of the dishes, but every single thing we had, was definitely worth the calories. Service staff was attentive and overall excellent. Atmosphere was divine. Worth a visit if you are around Kanchanaburi.

Restaurant
Keeree Tara is a casual restaurant that offers classic Thai dishes and stunning views of the famous River Kwai Bridge. Located about 10 minutes' drive from the bridge, it provides an idyllic setting surrounded by a vast green lawn. Popular menu items include coconut milk fish curry, pineapple fried rice, tom yum, and cappuccino. Next to Keeree Tara is The Village Farm To Cafe, a modern wooden cafe nestled among mountains with a bamboo tunnel for leisurely strolls.
This is an affordable “high-so” ( high society) Thai food restaurant by the river . The Kuan Im temple is across the river .. bridge over river Kwai insight too. The menu is extensive. Couldn’t decide what to eat Came alone Ordered Isan pork sausage starter .. duck curry n omelette … n coconut drink Oh no. I ordered too much for one person .. the portion is generous . Could not finish all . Oh no The food is delicious!!!! The duck curry is unique … there are grapes in the curry . Live bassa nova music so good The singer can sing very very well !!
Vince L — Google review
A very unique restaurant by the waterfront. Perfect for a date or family gathering. This place is usually packed but we came on a Tuesday night and it is a lot less crowded. The food is delightful and the service is excellent. Top notch.
Tommy O — Google review
Outstanding river front restaurant. Their foods are fantastic and delicious. There is a local mushroom called Hed Cone. It is a MUST to try. Fresh water fish, shrimp and others are quite good as well. The view is outstanding, seeing the River Khwae bridge. Wind is blowing nicely. Parking is limited. It is a bit difficult, but manageable.
Pichet P — Google review
Great view and atmosphere. Awesome food and service. We ordered local vegetable stir fry, Sun omelette (omelette with rice and shrimp) and fish tom yam. They were all tasty. The fish had no bone at all. Rice was good too, soft and warm. The desserts were great too. We ordered some-shun and tiny mango in syrup. Really love them. The music was very as well.
Jaruswan W — Google review
Excellent food. But for a nice, more pricey restaurant why are you using single use plastics?? Cutlery wrapped in plastic. Drinks in plastic cups. So disappointing to see this. You can do better than this!
Heather G — Google review
Here for lunch with friends. Splendid place!! Food is super with great river view. Perfect place. Live the deep fried small local fishes. Their omelette is also interesting!

Good Times Restaurant is a riverside dining spot that offers a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a diverse menu featuring Thai and European cuisine. While some visitors find the food to be somewhat bland, others praise dishes like the Tom Yum Egg Tofu and jungle curry. The restaurant's location by the river provides a lovely ambiance with smooth music playing in the background. Guests appreciate the reasonable prices for quality meals and enjoy the picturesque setting with tropical fish nearby.
The location on atmosphere is amazing. Services very good. People are very friendly prices are so reasonable.. we had breakfast with Thai omelette, tomato club sandwich and garlic bread. The portions are big. It was too much for two person.. smoothies are also very delicious

Amazing place! Very cozy atmosphere and delicious food. I like that you can choose level of spiciness. We got mild tom yam kung and no spicy fish in lime and chili soup. Happy that we chose this restaurant for our dinner.

So nice. Relaxing. Yummy eats. Very chill setting. Looking for fancy - not your spot. 4 people, 2 strawberry smoothies, 1 banana smoothie, 2 large beers + 4 mains = 1.1k thb. So good.

The best riverside restaurant in the area. Great atmosphere, good menu, nice staff and not crazy prices. The Tom Yum Egg Tofu is really good (never tried and seen it before). Fishes are affordable as well. My daughter loves her pasta as well.

We had a lovely meal in this restaurant. Good to find some mediterranean meals for a little break while traveling. I had a chicken steak some chips and veggies. The view is amazing A few mosquitos around but they have mosquito spray there to apply which was amazing
Mendonça H — Google review
Excellent! Lovely place, we sat by the river and there's lovely fairy lights and bug spray. We had morning glory (this is a given for every meal for us in thailand) and i had the Kaeng Liang Shrimp soup mild, which was still quite spicy but very tasty - just like i like it! My partner had the chicken steak and she did thoroughly enjoy it! Banana and coconut milk is delicious, we tried as curious

When in Kanchanaburi, a visit to the local night bazaars is a must. The JJ Night Market near the railroad station is a lively shopping spot divided into food and clothing stalls, offering affordable prices and delicious local cuisine. While smaller than those in bigger cities, it's still worth exploring for great deals on various items.
By far the best market in Kanchanaburi. Definitely worth a look at the food options.
Mitchell M — Google review
Probably the night market with the largest offering in kanchanaburi. Love how most stalls offer small servings, so u can leave your stomach to try different foods. Be careful not to over-order as the temptations are real!
Gary C — Google review
Great night market. Very convenient if you are staying in the River Kwai road area. On rainy nights the vendors may pack up early so plan accordingly. Pro tips: there is a Hoy Tod seller towards the back left corner that makes delicious food as well as a Laarb seller in the middle left. The sellers form a corridor that causes you to go around like a maze, I recommend that you do an entire lap and look at everything and then double back and make your purchases. Then if there is anything else you need you can hit seben right across the street. I go to this JJ market every time I visit Kanchanaburi now!
Eric R — Google review
Great place to look at food or clothes stalls . There is many to look at and choose from it was a good place to visit
Joseph O — Google review
Such a good night market, there's almost anything for everyone. Too bad today is raining. You can get lots of great food, for almost every palate and every taste. Also the non food item stalls are a plenty... Will try come back if there is no rain. Really enjoyed my short time visiting.

This was a wonderful night market experience at Kanchanaburi! It was so nicely organized: food section, clothing section, jewelry section,.. The food was surprisingly variable and had a lot of tasty things to choose from. Decent size as well! Recommended!
Stephen — Google review
Great food 😅 just make sure to leave some space until you completely done in the food area, some really nice tasty desserts and very very cheap. Head through a little earlier than when it's dark. I went late the night before and there wasn't as much food stalls as there was tonight.

Great night market, very large place with lots of fun vintage clothing shopping. You'll definitely find something great to eat! Prices about half compared to the restaurants that cater to the tourists in this town

Mallika R.E 124 is a captivating themed destination located in Kanchanaburi, designed to transport visitors back to the year 1905 during the reign of King Rama V. This charming retro city beautifully recreates the lifestyle and culture of Old Siam, allowing guests to engage in traditional activities such as cooking, sewing, and pottery. Visitors can also don authentic Thai costumes for an immersive experience.
Amazing experience, we are going back to the history of the ancient king time and explore the history of how ancient Thai live. Especially Thai custome really makes me feel like Thais and holed coins need to exchange to use in the compound. Many area is Instragramable. Must try Thai traditional foods as they don't overpriced. Staffs are helpful and welcome.
Yan T — Google review
Mallika R.E 124 is a truly immersive and unforgettable dining experience. Stepping into this restaurant is like taking a step back in time, transporting you to a traditional Thai village from 100 years ago. The attention to detail is impressive, from the period-accurate huts and equipment to the staff's traditional attire and roles. The commitment to authenticity is admirable, and it really adds to the charm of the place. What's more, visitors are encouraged to dress traditionally, which adds to the sense of community and shared experience. And, in a clever touch, only period-accurate currency is accepted, which can be exchanged using Thai Baht. The food and drinks are delicious, and it's fascinating to see the traditional cooking and farming equipment in action. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to share insights into the history and culture of the village. Overall, Mallika R.E 124 is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, culture, and unique dining experiences. It's a truly magical place that will leave you feeling like you've experienced something truly special. Tips Not mandatory - Be sure to dress traditionally to add to the experience. - Exchange your Thai Baht for period-accurate currency to use at the restaurant. - Take your time to explore the village and soak up the atmosphere. - Don't miss the opportunity to try traditional Thai dishes and drinks.
Mr.steve786 — Google review
This is a living history exhibit. The attraction depicts Thailand a little over 100 years ago. Employees play various roles in this community and dress according to the role they play. Visitors are invited to also dress in period clothing which can be rented on site for a small fee. There is a modest admission charge but each visitor receives the equivalent value in coins that can be used to interact with food vendors and shop keepers to purchase things. The coins actually encourage a deeper participation and learning experience as you see how the various classes of vendors dressed, lived, and worked. Foods are prepared as they were in the period. The recreation of a village was much more interesting than I expected. This is worth visiting. Plan at least 2 hours.
Michael M — Google review
A beautiful touristic slice of old Thailand (Siam) beautifully kept gardens and enough information to learn about the culture and history. The dress up service is great and added to the experience. Out of the way but worth a visit and the staff are amazingly friendly

One of the nicest places I've seen in Thailand. It's so calm, clean and cozy. I felt like I'm in the old times. We had lunch there in the form of buffet and it was amazingly good.
Sluka A — Google review
A novel experience to pay things with their own 'old' currency. Place is huge and well maintained. Among the things we did were the multi-step process in rice milling -- good for our kids to know how things were done in the past. Great customer service.
Faith A — Google review
An awesome underrated place! Very well organized "ancient city" layout, creative in display and presentation. Really worth the ticket. They use satang to display the prices for yummies inside (1 Satang - 50bht) . But can still pay with baht. Staffs are super friendly, they'll help take pictures for you and be your free modeling photographer with no add fees. (You can give thema worthy pocket money though) So many exhibitions of ancient and modern Thai to see. Really beautiful place inside with awesome architecture and planning. You get coupons also with the tickets that you can avail for yummies inside. Clean toilets everywhere inside and a free drinking water container with the old style cups. Highly recommend to visit. Should give about 1.5 hrs inside to walk and take pictures. Many trees and shades inside.

Thai restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Kanchanaburi, Kin Khao Lam Restaurant is a delightful destination for those seeking authentic Northern Thai cuisine. The name itself translates to 'eat rice,' perfectly embodying the essence of this eatery. While their signature dish, Shashu Pork Khao Soi, is a must-try and caters well to foreign palates with its mild flavor, there's so much more on offer.
We loved this family run restaurant, they serve dishes from Northern Thailand. It’s refreshing to have something different but still authentic Thai and cooked with love and passion. Recommended when you stay in Kanchanaburi!
Herman W — Google review
Kin Khao Lim is where Kanchanaburi locals go when they crave the real taste of Northern Thailand — bold, fiery, and unapologetically authentic. Here’s the kicker: if you want your dish less spicy, be prepared to pay extra. Yes, you read that right. And honestly? That’s the kind of culinary confidence I respect. Spice is part of the identity here — dial it down, and you’re changing the very soul of the dish. Their fermented pork adds a funky, tangy twist that surprises and delights. It’s a dish with character — the kind that lingers (in a good way). The Vietnamese-style fried sausage is another standout, either as a crispy side or paired with an ice-cold beer. Trust me, it works. Every plate feels crafted, every flavor deliberate. From sticky rice to herbal dips, you’ll find the spirit of the North in every bite — no compromises, no shortcuts. This isn’t watered-down Thai for tourists; it’s the real deal. Go hungry. Go curious. And whatever you do, don’t ask for “not spicy” — unless you’re ready to pay the price.
Johan O — Google review
The food here was honestly the best I’ve had so far in Thailand, incredibly flavorful and fresh. That said, the service started off a bit disappointing. I asked for a table for two and was shown to a spot along the wall, off to the side of the main terrace. It took about 10 minutes before anyone even brought us a menu… We were clearly overlooked, probably because we weren’t seated in the main area. It was fairly busy, so I understand the pressure, but it was clear the staff struggled to keep up with the crowd. Once we were finally noticed, the service improved significantly and our food arrived in a reasonable time. All in all, a very positive experience thanks to the amazing food. But if the place is busy, be prepared for some delays in service.

Such a lovely place, it was incredibly good. I tried the Chicken rice Green curry, Khao Soi with Fried Pork and Chicken rice panang sauce. All meals were amazing. Don’t miss it !

Went here multiple times and the food was so good and service was very friendly. The Khao Soi was very tasty and well made and recommend it highly.
Joe O — Google review
Best food so far in Thailand. Ordered Khao Soi and was incredible!! You can ask for less spicy, but I strongly recommend to take the normal spicy level. It is not too much and honestly, it is how this food is supposed to be.
MaximHeyns — Google review
I've been here for many times and all the experinces are PHENOMENAL! This restaurant is lovely with the vibes, service, and all the dishes authentically represent the Thai northern cusine. No other words but "you must try once!"

Lovely family-owned and operated restaurant. Great service and vibe. We had the Papaya salad, crispy pork and chicken green curry. All was delicious, though the green curry would’ve been better with a bit more coconut cream into the sauce, was a little watered down. Still good though. Pork crackling was proper crackling! Very affordable prices too. Overall great place to eat in this street.

Mueang Kanchanaburi Fresh Market is located at the center of town, surrounded by Pak Prak Rd, Krom Prarad Chawang Boworn Rd, and Prasit Songkram Rd. It operates from 05:00 to 15:00 every day. Visitors can find a wide variety of fresh produce including chicken, pork, beef, seafood, kitchen wares and other goods similar to wet markets in the Philippines.

Go here if you want to experience an authentic local Thai fresh market. Here you will find a lot of specialities like frog, rat and intestines. Good experience for a western tourist to come and see this and see how things work in this part of the world. There’s also a big fruit and vegetables section worth to see also.
Kasper H — Google review
An average market with many stalls but some how not many were opened when I was there. Instead, the road are packed with temporarily stall and sell almost just as many variety as the market itself.

I am a big fan of these Fresh Markets lived in the Philippines or stayed in the Philippines rather for quite a while and I got a accustomed to the daily shopping at what we called in the Philippines wet markets. Chicken pork beef all kinds of seafood along with kitchen Wares lots of produce just about anything you could want.

Great market, full of fresh vegetable and fruit. The prices are also good. The only thing is, you have to come in the morning, if you come later you can be disappointed as I was the first time.

The market becomes very lively after midnight where you can find fresh produce be it fruits or vegetables. Use your art of bargaining here.

Thai restaurant
Ban Lung Chuan is a charming restaurant located in the serene surroundings of Kanchanaburi. The thatched-roofed dwelling offers a tranquil ambiance for diners to enjoy generous portions of tantalizing and spicy Thai cuisine. The menu features signature dishes such as Thai-style omelette, green curry, and kaffir lime leaf salad. Guests can expect great ambience with a chilled outdoor area and attentive staff.
We had dinner here as it was right behind our hotel (Latima Hotel), it was a really lovely little place, very attentive staff and great food. There is a menu in English but were also shown an extended menu on the foodpanda app which was also in English. It was really reasonable, about 150 baht for a meal. We plan to visit again before we leave.

Great Thai Food at a Reasonable Price & Owner is very friendly. It's a bit sad to see this good restaurant has only a few customers due to Covid-19 situation. Recommend for everyone who loves Thai Food!

Art on the buffet line, It is fantastic decoration for our meeting with a very great deal. This restaurant team is so much attention to prepare the most speculation work on this food table. Thank you so much to make my working day be the most satisfying overwhelm all compliment from team and people who were joining us...lovely moment so thankful...

This is a great restaurant in every way. Great ambience (chilled shady outdoor area), great staff, great food with very reasonable prices. They even have chilled beer glasses with ice frozen in the bottom (for those who ask & like their beer like that). Only reason not 5 stars is they toned down my dish so it was less spicy. Advice, if you like spicy Thai style, be very insistent!

Spicy , original and really delicious. The restaurant was clean beautifully decorated. 🍋If you ever go there do try their AMAZING 'mamuang namplawan smoothie' it's sublimeeeeeeeee.

Chef has a knack for bringing out all the authentic flavours of Thailand. Tod Man Koong was freshly made, fluffy and crisp. Tom Yum Koong was very spicy but delicious as was the Green Curry. Only complaint is that the green curry was a bit heavy on eggplants and light on pork.

Kanchanaburi Walking Street is a delightful weekend market that springs to life in the evenings, creating a vibrant atmosphere perfect for exploration. Nestled in the heart of Kanchanaburi province, this charming street offers an eclectic mix of food, drinks, and local crafts. As you meander through its lively stalls, you'll be captivated by the historical architecture that reflects Sino-Portuguese and Thai influences from the 1920s and '30s.
This weekend night market had one of the best selections of vegan friendly food I have seen. The place felt very clean and well looked after & there were so many delicious things to eat! Wonderful. 🩵

A supposedly historic street that is flanked by buildings going back to before WW2, you can walk down this street and read about the story behind some of the buildings. There are Thai and English language boards. Our tour group brought us down here so it's quite an interesting walk, although nothing really spectacular.

It is really funny that many people/tourists find this railway and slow moving train is something so interesting, to the point of pushing forward to be as close as possible to the moving train. The train is moving really slow as the shoppers close their shops and free the railway track for the train to move. There is really nit much to see, other than this is the only place that we can get to be so close to a moving train. There are shops along the track and some food kiosks. The local fruits sold here are fresh and nice. I bought some red jambu, bali lemon and pink guava.
Zyda A — Google review
Great selection of food, drinks and dry goods. But the street needs to be opened up. It's to enclosed making it difficult to walk and see everything. Lose the driving lane and open it up. This will make it more enjoyable.

Beautiful Saturday night down by the river.

I missed the night market that only opens on Saturday. So it’s nothing special, old Chinese migration houses, it’s good to come to walk around to experience the local lifestyle, just 1 hour is enough. There are some nice vintage cafes to chill out.

Quite a quite little town with some old french like achitecture. Not much to see there.
