Vegetarian restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of La Paz, Ali Pacha is a culinary gem that beautifully embodies its name, which translates to "the universe of plants" in Aymara. This innovative vegan restaurant offers an exquisite fine dining experience that stands out not just locally but across South America.
The food is absolutely outstanding, beyond words. World class, no doubt about it. Each dish beautifully presented and the taste and texture out of this world. This is an experience not to be missed.
Juan B — Google review
Beautiful restaurant & wonderful service! Waiters spoke English and explained each dish very well. All food was vegetarian and we chose the extended menu and had 11 different plates! A few were incredible and really wowed us! And others weren’t so special. We had a wonderful experience otherwise and had a really interesting wine as well!
Paige K — Google review
This was a very welcome stop on my La Paz trip. I ate here twice. The service was competent. I was very glad the menu featured Bolivian food and wine. Most of the dishes on my 5-course meals were very good. Only one was great: a tomato sorbet with burnt cinnamon. On my second visit (Friday night,) they said they couldn’t open a bottle of wine, since the restaurant is closed on weekends.
John E — Google review
I was looking forward to discovering this restaurant for christmas night, drawn in by the enthusiastic reviews and recommendations, but I left quite disappointed, perhaps because I'm not a vegetarian. Although the chef’s creativity and his desire to combine flavors were evident, I found that almost all the dishes lacked depth in terms of taste. There was a clear intention to innovate, but something seemed to be missing in every plate, with the notable exception of the vegetable tartare, which was truly perfect. My companion also particularly enjoyed the last dessert. We opted for the 10-course surprise menu with wine pairings, for a total of $170 USD ( obviously very expensive compared to the wine pairing) for two people. At this price, and after dining in restaurants offering impeccable gastronomic quality for less than $35 (2 entrances + 2 plate + 2 cocktails) for two like Manqu’a Restaurant. I expected a top-tier culinary experience. Perhaps my expectations were too high, after enjoying excellent meals elsewhere in La Paz. However, it’s worth mentioning that the service was impeccable: attentive, professional, and pleasant, which certainly made our meal more enjoyable.
Gladys A — Google review
Dropped in spontaneously, had the best fine dining experience for so little money ever. Interior is unassuming but the dishes were great, highly recommended 👏🏽
VAGANTURE — Google review
My first fine dining experience and it was so good If you want to get a really delicious vegan 3,4 or 8 course menu, this is the right place. Really kind and knowing staff about the served food. Really good wine. Thank you for the stay <3

South American restaurant
Gustu, which means "flavor" in Quechua, is a must-visit gourmet restaurant in La Paz, Bolivia. The restaurant not only offers beautifully plated dishes but also takes pride in highlighting exclusively Bolivian products supplied directly by small producers from indigenous rural communities. It serves as a platform for local talents and operates as a socially-committed enterprise.
Everything here was first-class. I am so glad I ate here! My group of three had diverse dietary requests, which made everything complicated. The staff handled our needs expertly. The food was attractive and delicious. The open kitchen was spotlessly clean. The servers were knowledgeable and efficient. I was glad to learn more about Bolivian ingredients.
John E — Google review
We did the 13 (I think) course tasting menu. Cocktail was nice. They offered me a taste of two wines before I selected which I thought was a nice touch. The food was hit and miss and a bit too out there for me. For example, one dish was a whole crab or some kind of shellfish 🦞, I did not want to crunch the thing whole so I just ate the cracker. Next was the alligator meat served in an almond/cheesy milk sauce. It did not work. Not sure if it’s the aligator meat or the combo but I didn’t like it. The ‘surprise’ dish turned out to be cow tongue and brain which I would have preferred to know in advance. That being said, the tongue aspect was nice - the brain part was not. I could barely get any meat off the pigeon. The ice cream flavour combination did not work, a bit sour. The other dishes were nice, I especially liked the onion appetiser and the pear palate cleanser. Service was good, everyone was friendly and helpful; some of the descriptions could have been delivered a little slower for tourists but they did their best in their second language. The view into the kitchen was nice and I enjoyed watching them work. The kitchen staff were taking great care to plate every thing up nicely. I think for the price point, the food and flavours here needs to be better balanced and reliable.
Cara D — Google review
Gustu was an amazing dinning experience. We had the full tasting menu with wine and cocktail pairing. The attentive service with both Spanish and English explanations was excellent! One of the dishes is served without an explanation because they want you to explain it after tasting it 😲😂
Hitesh B — Google review
Gustu is Bolivia's answer to world' best gastronomy collective. They use indigenous ingredients freshly prepared in art form marrying up the best of taste and texture. Excellent Bolivian wines are on their menu too. Beautiful decor and ambience compliment the whole presentation. The knowledge and attentiveness by the staff is world class. If one is in Bolivia, one must make Gustu an intentional visit. Price wise, one gets comparable European experience for a third of what one would pay in Europe.
A L — Google review
Excellent restaurant marked by professionalism and creativity. The menu is a celebration of the Amazon (the alligator ceviche is positively astonishing), crafted by the staff from a completely open kitchen. You can truly see the passion, attention to detail, and high standards. The cocktails offered as pairings are also very good. Outside the restaurant, there is a small garden where the kitchen sometimes harvests ingredients to incorporate directly into the dishes.
David M — Google review
Eating here was a spiritual experience. I have to admit, I cried a little after eating one of the dishes. So many new flavors from unique local ingredients, I also had a great view of the kitchen with deceptively young chefs. Eat here now before it becomes prohibitively expensive!
John C — Google review
Mandatory for whoever enjoys authentic wine and food pairings, this restaurant paints a picture of Bolívia in wine and food. Brilliant interpretations of local gastronomy. Just excellent.
Ricardo G — Google review
If you’re looking for extraordinary value for money and extraordinary food, then you must book a table at Gustu. Proudly showcasing Bolivian produce and know-how, together with flawless Noma-esque precision and technique, this meal will be remembered for a long time. I was just a bit disappointed the last savoury dish (rabbit) had a fish flavour - I usually love rabbit and the texture of the meat was divine, but one single bite made me gag (I don’t eat fish / seafood). I really appreciated the lovely replacements to fish / seafood dishes they made for me btw. Service was professional and friendly (though struggling in English), premises are arty and interesting.

Phayawi Restaurante, located in the southern zone, offers a traditional dining experience with a focus on authentic Bolivian cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on serving classic recipes of traditional Bolivian dishes without any experimental deconstructions. The well-illuminated space features an indoor market where guests can purchase high-quality handmade Bolivian wares.
I loved the atmosphere, I happy to see more places like this in La Paz. Service was great and of course food was excellent, you have to try the sautéed onions in the Lomo and those ispis.
Erick B — Google review
We visited during a sort of festival celebrating La Paz’s anniversary, so the menu was a special edition. Overall, the food was good, but nothing particularly memorable — except for the starter: a Mini Pork Shoulder Sandwich. That was absolutely sensational! I’d go back just to eat that 100 times. The service was outstanding — polite, attentive, and very professional. Everything was explained clearly, and all of our questions were answered. If that sandwich is still on the menu when you go, order several and enjoy every bite!
Paulo G — Google review
This place is a gem. Food is fantastic authentic Bolivian food. With a great service. Marcos was extremely helpful and went out of his way to accommodate me when I don’t speak Spanish. I would highly recommend it
Iman A — Google review
Amazing delicious Bolivian meal, if we weren’t so full we would’ve tried to keep eating! Wonderful friendly staff that explained the menu and had great advice on what to try. We speak very little Spanish and they were very helpful throughout. I will dream of the peanut soup, beyond what I could’ve imagined it to be!
Christopher P — Google review
I can confidently say that this restaurant and its young lovely talent chief deserves high praise for their authentic cuisine and excellent service. From their signature dishes to their warm hospitality, I love them all. I highly recommend checking out this culinary gem and experiencing Bolivia's rich flavors for yourself.
M — Google review
This is an awesome place to try some of the best bolivian traditional dishes, the service is excellent as well, it's advisable to reserve a table ahead of time, specially on weekends.
Rene M — Google review
Great restaurant! The food is very good, they serve the classic recipes of traditional bolivian dishes. No experimental deconstructions that can be a hit or miss here, only true and tested options, just like bolivian grandmas would cook. The service is also remarkable, all the staff is very helpful and friendly. I was doubting about ordering the Fricasé with mild or strong spice, and the waiter offered to have me test the broth to make a better desition, this was very helpful and a nice detail. The ambiance is quite nice and comfortable, as is the folclore music. Can't recommend enough!

Flea & Street Markets
Mercado Rodríguez, also known as Lanza or Camacho markets, is a vibrant and bustling marketplace in La Paz, Bolivia. Here, vendors in colorful traditional dress sell a variety of goods including fish from Lake Titicaca and potatoes from the Andes. The market offers everyday dishes like Chairo soup and is especially lively on weekends when it spreads out over surrounding streets and squares. Visitors can sample Api, fresh fruit juices, exotic fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and more.
We enjoyed this authentic mercado so much more than the touristy witches market, totally different experience. No souvenirs to buy, at least not on a weekday and the cholas don't like their pictures taken. We were utterly charmed and found prices fair.
Shivaya G — Google review
Beautiful market. Mostly eatable things but still very nice. Wish we had some thing like that at home.
Frank L — Google review
This is a must see if you are visiting La Paz. The market itself is quite large, the women wearing their traditional dresses are stunning and the place is busy and vibrant. Lots of vegetables, fruit, seafood and meat. Worth the walk here.
Team T — Google review
Green market. Fruit and vegetables mostly. A good part of local market to find fruit, vegetables, fish and egg. I enjoyed my time exploring it. During weekend it even gets bigger and more crowded
Zahra B — Google review
This is one of the most genuine experiences you will have in La Paz. The market is enormous, outdoor and indoor shops and kiosks, literally on the street, selling everything you will ever imagine. The market is not organized, there are no sections, and the best way to find what you will need is either by asking or walking up and down. People are very friendly and sweet, there is no risk whatsoever.
Andreas K — Google review
An O.G. Street market made for the locals by the locals. You can find any kind of meat, fish, vegetable, fruit, and anything else you can think of. A great experience in La Paz!
Stefano C — Google review
I love going to Mercado Rodriguez: fresh fruit, veggies, great meat. I tend to prefer afternoons as its a lot quieter and empty. Having a casera is the best. I definitely recommend going to this market, so fun and such a wide variety of products. The best!! Also great for buying cleaned fresh fish.

Manq'a Restaurante, which means "food" in Aymara, started in July 2014 and has since expanded to 11 schools across Bolivia and Colombia, with plans for further expansion. The original school beneath the restaurant provides advanced training in service, management, and cooking to select students. The restaurant offers a creative twist on Bolivian classics and supports a social project that provides employment opportunities for local youth.
Foods are good, loved their soup and desserts. The sauces on the dishes are flavorful and tasty. Must try their desserts! The staff was nice and gave us suggestion on tour route for our half day lay over at La Paz.
Li K — Google review
A famous spot for many tourists with a good reason to be. They offer all the time a set menu that includes starter (salad or soup), main dish and dessert for 85 bolivianos (Aug, 2025). Everything was very tasty so we went twice during our short stay in La Paz. For vegetarians, they have two salads and three main meals. (One salad is vegan and one main meal is vegan) We tried 3 different types of desserts and everything was so good and well presented. If you are in town, make sure to try it out, you would better make a reservation.
Bo-sung K — Google review
Recommended by our hosts, Manq’a was an absolute delight! Everything we tried was delicious, from humble empanadas, which were unbelievably light and flavorful, to every single dish that followed. The food quality, presentation, and service were outstanding. Honestly, we’ve dined at Michelin-starred restaurants, and the level of care and taste here rivals some of them. Great wines, excellent attention to detail, and incredibly reasonable prices, dinner for two with wine came to around £20! If this restaurant were in London, it would surely have a long waiting list and prices 10–20 times higher. A must-visit in La Paz!
Cezar K — Google review
One of the best restaurants we had on our journey through Latin America! The food is delicious - prepared and presented with lots of care, skill and attention for detail. The service was extremely attentive and kind. From the insight the restaurant reveals a very pretty old building. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. For lunch the restaurant even offers a three-course menu for 85 BOB (as of October 2025), but you can also order a la cart. Overall an absolute must if you happen to be in this area!
Dmitry S — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious!! Better than a lot of restaurants I’ve eaten in in London and New York. It felt like a fine dining experience. Their chef is very talented. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Great service as well.
Amy G — Google review
After reading rave reviews about the restaurant, I went there on my first day at La Paz. I was seated straightaway though i didnt have a reservation. The three course menu in English was presented to me. There were so many options to choose from veg, vegan, fish, meat. I had a salad for started, fish for mains and a vegan chocolate cake for dessert. All of them very very delicious, top quality presentation and ingredients. The staff was very friendly and between my limited Spanish and google translate they managed to feed and water me in the best possible way. I will be heading there again for a meal soon. By the way, the portion sizes were huge so go empty stomach. I wasnt able to finish my main course although it was very delicious. For less than 100 BOL, the food was top notch. Many restaurants in Europe will charge 10 times for same quality and standards (then add a service charge and ask you to leave within 2 hours, highly likely you still feeling hungry).
P B — Google review
Amazing culinary experience with authentic Bolivian recipes, but then a bit fancier. The wine pairings were nice, but the dessert blew our minds with how good it was. Overall very much recommended!

La Rufina is a must-visit restaurant in La Paz, Bolivia. It offers traditional dishes like relleno de papa and menudito, providing a unique culinary experience. Despite being slightly off the beaten path, the cozy and well-decorated ambiance, along with friendly staff, make it worth the visit. The hearty and flavorful dishes receive high praise for both their presentation and taste. The restaurant's modern take on traditional Bolivian cuisine has pleasantly surprised many visitors.
I have never had better service in an establishment! The staff here are incredibly attentive and I was even shocked when they remembered our party from a few nights before and provided complimentary drinks - I was absolutely astounded. And don’t get me started on the food, our amazing service staff Angela (Angie) introduced where all the ingredients in each dish were sourced from in Bolivia. Each dish was presented amazingly and tasted even better. My asian parents who don’t usually venture outside of asian food said this was one of the best meals we had in our first time to south america.

We are surprised that the reviews aren't higher. Firstly they give you free mini empanada starters. The flavours of the mains we chose were absolutely delightful and complex. We chose the special planchita (steak, chorizo, yucca mash and egg). This cost 110 bs. We also got the silpancho which was so tasty. Big portions for good prices. To finish off they gave us free dulche leche lollies!! So delicious. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Thanks for having us!

I had a fantastic meal here. The waitress was so, so friendly and talked to me at length about the menu and made personal recommendations based on things that I enjoy. I was so taken by the cute restaurant and the wonderful service that I decided to order the tasting menu! Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. The waitress was so happy to tell me about the history of each dish and it truly enriched the experience.

Overall the place is nice. The portions of the entrees were big and the service was great. Some dishes tasted better than others. They try to create unique tastes in each dish but sometimes it’s not quite it.
Topazm_ — Google review
Their food presentation is great. Due to many good views on Google, maybe my expectation was too big. The food tastes good but nothing too extraordinary. I went because they had vegetarian peanut soup and I really wanted to try this regional dish! This soup was the best thing that I had there. The stuffed rice ball was ok, I wish that they offer stuffed potato ball with vegetarian filling. The cost is higher than other restaurants in the town.
Bo-sung K — Google review
Wow, great revelation! This was recommended by our tour organizer. The food was all prepared fresh and with local ingredients only. I opted to start with the sopita de mani (peanut soup). Oh my, it is divine. If you are a peanut lover, you will enjoy this soup. The sweet and savory combination hits the palate with perfection. My friends ordered menudito, cola de res, and I chose pique. The servings were huge. Every entree we have was cooked to perfection. The server explained everything about the food we are about to enjoy. I am so glad to be introduced to the Bolivian food. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a great experience. My only feedback is for the restaurant to improve the exhaust system of the restaurant. I know we enjoyed the food, but I personally do not want to smell food after leaving the restaurant. I will highly recommend this place. Thank you!

Paceña La Salteña is a popular restaurant in Colombia that specializes in salt-based dishes. The menu features items such as salted codfish with rice and beans, and salted chicken with black beans. The restaurant is known for its warm atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
An amazing food of Bolivia that is made better with this place. Once you enter the place you can sense all of the positivity from the place. Nice staff and a simple menu that will fill anyone’s appetite. From a locals perspective, this place never gets old and always cheers me up. Place is great, big tables and comfortable. Saltenas here are very popular and probably the best Chicken salteña you can eat. They have awesome natural juices (linaza, lemon with milk, lime some of the best). Staff is friendly and once you pay at the register a waitress takes your receipt and gets your order to your table.

If you're looking for a vibrant culinary experience after dark, Mercado Las Velas is the place to be! This bustling market comes alive at night, offering an array of delicious street food options that will satisfy any late-night cravings. From traditional silpancho to mouthwatering anticuchos and hearty sausage rolls prepared by local grandmas, there's something for everyone. The atmosphere has a nostalgic 80s vibe, making it a unique spot to enjoy your meal.
good snack area. lots of grandmas cookin sausage rolls, full meals and meat on a stick. Average price 11 BOL - 19 BOL. I at least buy something to try all the time. The breakfast place directly to the right is open all day and night and the prices there are the same also. So eat yourself some sausage roll and grab breakfast. I would say the place is 100% safe as I have not seen any reason to doubt the bolivians minus random homeless which is every city. I mean it's next to a fair and the stadium plaza so safety is all there is. I did read the comments btw and i acknowledge that the place is open until 2:30AM but do you really need a spot to go to after 9:15 while in another country?

Namas Té is a cozy and vibrant vegetarian restaurant located in Sopocachi, offering a global menu with plenty of vegan options. The restaurant's snug and rustic ambiance provides the perfect escape to enjoy a four-course vegetarian feast at an affordable price. With friendly service and homemade food, including options for vegans, Namas Té is a welcoming spot to savor delicious meals. Originally established as a tea shop, it has evolved into a vegetarian eatery due to slow growth.
I had the most amazing lunch here. The food is soo flavoursome. I my self am not a vegetarian or vegan, at no point was I missing meat. The prices are very reasonable and the food is outstanding. It gets full quickly, I got there as they started the lunch menu and before I had finished, all the tables were taken. The service is polite and friendly and as you expect from a top establishment. The lunch menu is only 30bs per person for a three course meal. I would choose to eat here over places in or around the witches market as it's much better quality and a lot cheaper and only a stones throw away. Menu items are cooked to order and fresh food.

I got the menu of the day which was traditional Bolivia food on Monday. Everything was okay and it was a fair price. The staff was really friendly and speaks good English
Guiping X — Google review
We loved this place - one of our faves in La Paz. Amazing veggie mains, salads and smoothies using stunning Bolivian produce (which we’d just spent time admiring in the markets), and just what we needed for a healthy lunch on our travels! The summer rolls and choco banana smoothie were particularly good. There is a menu of the day which is ready to serve, and an a la carte menu which is cooked to order so takes a bit more time, but we enjoyed a bit of downtime and the food was 100% worth it - an oasis of chill in the La Paz chaos! Owner was so friendly too. Go!

Paceña La Salteña is a must-visit for food enthusiasts and linguists alike. This eatery in the heart of La Paz offers traditional Bolivian empanadas known as salteñas, which are similar to Cornish pasties. These savory pastries were supposedly brought to Bolivia by an Argentine woman from the province of Salta, hence the name.
Loved the Salteñas! Tried 3 different ones and they were all good! Local place with very few tourists when I went.
Ricardo A — Google review
Decent salteñas for a fair price. I got the combo meal which was 2 salteñas, a juice, and a dessert for 32. Place appears pretty popular
Guiping X — Google review
Read online that the spicy beef salteña was really good so went to try it. It was not bad but I preferred the fricase salteña. There are some options only available Friday to Sunday.
Sanjay B — Google review
I consider saltenas like a Bolivian version of xiaolongbao. You’re supposed to try to eat it without spilling the juice inside. The hard crust contrasted with the juicy center is the perfect early morning bite. Try the spicy one as well!
Qi Y — Google review
A low-key place that is popular with the locals. We tried carne, carne picante, pollo and vegetarian. All were great and very cheap! Salteñas were fresh and came out very quickly. As we left around 12pm a long line started to form!
Monique F — Google review
We came back twice during our stay in La Paz. Great for lunch with cheap price but super yummy local food! We had almost tried everything here, our favourite are Charque (pulled beef), Carne, Fricase(Pork) Carne and Hoja. The lady in the cashier was super sweet and friendly too.
Tally W — Google review
Simple, fast casual joint for salteñas. You seat yourself and they come around with menus and take your order. We got two combos - two salteñas + a drink + dessert for 28 or 30 bolivianos (depending on the type of drink), an extra salteña and a coffee. Favorite salteñas were pollo and carne picante, but all of them were tasty! Skip the coffee. Service is friendly, there was some confusion at the end with payment (which is done at the counter by the door), but they eventually figured it out.

Lupito Cocina Vegana, situated in the bustling Sopocachi neighborhood of La Paz, exudes a cozy atmosphere with its recycled furnishings and heartwarming animal-themed messages adorning the walls. Committed to promoting animal rights and welfare, this restaurant named after their rescue dog serves up exceptional plant-based fare. Their daily changing menu features a variety of delectable options including soups, empanadas, rice dishes, and vegetable-based delicacies.
The menu of the day had two options. I chose the homemade burger with hand cut fries and fried plátanos. The meal also came with soup and a little dessert. All together 28 bols. The buns, pesto sauce, and the patties were homemade and great quality. They also had apple pie and two big cookies. The apple pie (generous portion) was 8 bols, and was absolutely delicious!

Vegan dishes that were full of flavour, fresh and delicious! They have a full menu (soup + main + small dessert) that at a great price. Have already been twice during our stay (despite not being vegan ourselves) and will probably return again! Dishes vary and include vegan interpretation of traditional Bolivian dishes (like falso conejo) as well as burgers and burrito bowls!

Very cheap and good vegan restaurant in La Paz. The menu costs 23bs and was composed of a quinoa soup with vegetables, stuffed zucchini and a coconut cream. Additionally, we ordered a fresh juice for 7bs (or 14bs for a bottle). Everything was tasty. However, the service was a bit too fast and it would be nicer to get the food very warm. It was a lot but I would definitely go to this place again.

Doña Remedios is a popular restaurant in La Paz, Bolivia serving up some of the country's most famous dishes, like chicharrón. The pork is cubed with spices and braised in beer before being crisped up in a hot pan, resulting in both juicy and dry meat inside. It's popular for its ability to alleviate symptoms of a hangover, and the fricasseé is also pretty good.

Diners rave about the delicious olive sauce and the top-notch flavors that make every bite worthwhile. While some have noted slow service during quieter times, the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere create an enjoyable dining experience.
Very friendly service, great food! Had some really great fish with rice and potatoes, excellent food, definitely recommend!
PheNom603 — Google review
The food was below average, and the price was very high for the quality and quantity. The pineapple juice tasted like water. We ordered a seafood platter for 145BOB, and most of them were sweet potatoes and corns. The seafood was very rubbery, I guess ordering seafood in a country that doesn't have the ocean wasn't the best idea. Overall, it was quite disappointing.
Lisa L — Google review
I eat and make ceviche regulary, this restaurant is underrated. The price is worth it if you appreciate the work that goes into great quality and flavor. The olive sauce is delicious, and the ceviche flavor is top tier. Thank you to Achahila Lounge Bar for the recommendation, definitely worth it and I am very satisfied.

Chabuca has not only delicious Peruvian dishes but also very good desserts. I had a “jalea chabuca” which is recomended for two people, but from my experience it could also be for three. As a dessert I had a tiramisú which I really enjoyed. If you want to taste good Peruvian cuisine you should go to Chabuca.

The food was good, it’s not the cheapest place but there is a nice selection of savory and sweet dishes as well as coffee. The only problem was slow service, the restaurant was basically empty but we had to wait for everything, the menu, to order, not a good impression.
Paweł S — Google review
I had big expectations about the food here. But it was a big failure, I specifically asked for spicy Picante, even the waitress warned me, but when the food arrived it was not spicy at all. I asked the waitress and she confirm that the Cheff didn't put any spicy in my dish. Big disappointed. Don't try here, even if the waitress asked no one really knows if they respect your decision. #shameChabuca / after review facts 1st the waitress ask me about the level of spicyness of my PICANTE ( I order medium) 2nd I ate all the dish (I even bought another dish) 3rd when I asked about the spycyness she mentioned the possibility to add spicy mixing the PICANTE with your LLAJUA (But this is not the point to visit a Peruvian restaurant?) Right?

Kenchan serves up delicious and authentic Japanese food in La Paz. The restaurant is popular with the local Japanese community, and the food is consistently excellent. Ramen, sushi, and soups are all great options at Ken Chan.
Really good food. The menu is absolutely huge (which is often a bad thing, but it doesn’t equate to poor quality here, as there is only variance of a few ingredients between different meal options). Service was friendly, and rather attentive despite it being very busy. 77BOB is a fair price for a large platter of food. I think this will be my regular dinner spot in La Paz.

A very popular Japanese restaurant in La Paz. The restaurant offers a wide range of Japanese food sets. We tried Raman and Pork Cutlet. Honestly, it’s not fully authentic Japanese style, but we did enjoy our food- the Chashu and fried pork were quite tasty. Lime juice was so so. Overall, it’s a good experience if you are craving for some Asian food!
Shantal N — Google review
Best Japanese restaurant in La Paz! Exactly the same taste as in Japan. I can’t help but leaving a review immediately. Besides, it’s super clean, even bathroom! That’s something must be mentioned.
Ding Y — Google review
I ordered a pork miso ramen and a sushi plate. Miso ramen was a little bit too salty. So I could not finish all the soup. Highly recommended they could have real Japanese spice (七味)on the side. Sushi plate was delicious but if the chef can put a little bit less water before cooking, the rice won’t be too mushy. Also if the chef could add a little bit more rice vinegar into the rice that will be great, I barely can taste the vinegar. I love they have Japanese songs on the background.
葉polly — Google review
The only saving grace for this place that I tried was the yakitori. The lemonade was just straight warm sugar water, no lemon flavor. Worst lemonade of my life. I asked for more lemon and water in it to balance it out but it came back tasting the same. I told them to just take it back. I still paid for it. The California roll had mayonnaise in it which is just weird and gross, and an insult to the name California roll. Salad came with no dressing. I asked for vinegar and they said they didn’t have it, but they did bring limes. I feel like the staff ignored me and I had to get their attention for everything. My seat was hidden in the back behind a pole so I just felt forgotten about.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Bolivian cuisine, look no further than Chicharrones de Irpavi. Nestled in the vibrant South side of La Paz, this gem is only open on weekends but promises a culinary experience worth every moment spent waiting for a table. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their chicharron—succulent pork that's been expertly spiced and slow-cooked to perfection in its own juices.
Over the years this has been a reliable and tasty option for this typical bolivian dish
Cristhian V — Google review
I heard this place had some of the best fricasé in La Paz, we couldn’t order because they “didn’t make it today” as we were told by the staff. My next choice was chicharrón de pollo, but they didn’t have that either. So i asked for a chorizo sandwich with papas fritas, they didn’t have papas fritas. So i ate my sandwich without fries, it was a good sandwich. Sopa de Maní was also very good, however it took 30 mins to get the soup, everyone else had already finished eating. Another dish we ordered was incomplete because they didn’t have eggs. I’m not sure what was happening the day i went and why the service was so bad, or why they didn’t have half their menu. The food i did have was good and would be willing to give it one more try for the fricasé.

Great place to eat a local delicacy. Try it out if you can, though sometimes you'll have to wait several minutes for a table. As for dessert: cinnamon sorbet!
Marcelo A — Google review
This place has been around for a while now, giving their customers a Bolivian experience in all their dishes. The most famous dish is Chicharron (fried pieces of pork), this is a must have if you are new to Bolivia! The place is busy, therefore the attention isn't the best, in fact you make lines to ask for your dish and go pick it up yourself. It's not the best Chicharron I have had, therefore my qualification isn't 5/5, but it's not a bad option at all!
Natalia S — Google review
This place is perfect to try some traditions Bolivian food although it is open only on weekends and is in South side of town in Irpavi, it’s well worth it. The pork Fricasé and the Chicharrón are my favorite, if you feel more adventurous try the Charke Kan a beef jerky dish, the trout ain’t bad either.

Typical Bolivian food. The specialty is "chicharrón", which is pork, spiced and slowly cooked in its own juices and "chicha", an mild alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of maize grains. It's usually crowded, but you can opt for take out instead of eating in the place.

Casa Fusion offers outstanding service. All staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast was balanced and delicious. They even packed to-go boxes for early excursion. I had a very early arrival and was allowed to check in without any trouble. Checked out at 6AM and the young man at the front desk made me coffee to have while I waited for transportation. Then made me a to-go lemon tea to help with hoarse voice. Highly recommend Casa Fusion!

We stayed here twice during our time in Bolivia, and couldn't have been happier. The staff do everything they can to make your stay comfortable, and have a ton of information for tourists. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the showers were actually hot, a hard thing to find in Bolivia. We loved the breakfasts, and they will even bring it to your room if you choose. The hotel was helpful with logistics during early check in and check outs due to night buses and early morning flights. The cable car station is steps away, which is very handy. They even provide and cable car card that you can reload.

Charming boutique hotel ideally located a few steps away from the Sopocachi station of the Teleferico yellow line, in an area full of nice little cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. The hotel has a strong homey feeling and it is easy to feel right at home in the comfortable large rooms or in one of the public corners with plush armchairs and free coca tea (to combat altitude sickness) available 24 hours a day. Breakfast is a definite highlight, in no small part thanks to the sweets coming from the bakery next door, but most of all I was impressed by the high level of serice by the whole staff, always available, always smiling and proactive and always going the extra mile to make every stay most enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Casa Fusion Hotel for 6 nights. The staff is incredibly professional, helpful and friendly. I had stayed at two other more expensive and fancier hotels for a couple of nights and decided to stick to Casa Fusion for the rest of my stays in La Paz. The quality of service and cleanliness you receive is unbeatable at this price and actually I found the staff, breakfast and cleanliness and coziness of the rooms much better than those other hotels. Plenty of sunshine in the rooms during the day, and proper shades for sleeping. They also do not overcharge for every little thing like some of those other hotels. They helped me store my luggage with expensive items while I was on my mountain trips. When I was feeling sick, they took special requests for breakfast and when I had to leave extremely early for mountain trips they offered to pack a delicious breakfast for me. The owner is around as well if you have any questions and he is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family!! I will also definitely come back here without hesitation in the future.
