Pig's Pearls is a trendy, industrial-chic restaurant in Guadalajara that has become a local favorite since its establishment in 2011. The restaurant prides itself on supporting the community and sourcing ingredients from local producers. Their menu features an array of gourmet burgers, including options like portabella mushroom and maple syrup burgers, as well as kebabs for those who prefer alternatives to burgers.
Amazing burger joint that must check out in colonia americana. The ambiance of the place is great and the have a number of craft/local beers to choose from. The service was quick and the server provided me with a number of recommendations. I ordered the chimichurri burger with a lemonade to drink. The burger was incredible, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Meat was tender and very flavorful and the buns are made fresh in house. Was pleasantly surprise with Argentinian twist to burger. Fries were excellent and very flavorful. For burger/drink I paid around 280 pesos so around ($14 usd). 10/10 highly recommend coming to check out pigs pearls.

Greta location, quiet indoor and outdoor seating options. Food was amazing and the staff were great very reasonable prices and good portions. I felt like this was a great spot and I’m definitely going to stop by again. I ordered a sangria and a queso burger and both were delicious. I’m from Texas and I’ve been traveling all of Mexico. This is one of the few burger spots that hit the spot.

My god waited over one hour with my 2 yr old son for a tiny burger that was ridiculously over cooked i left didnt have the steak but id imagine it would of been the same as wasnt even asked how i like it cooked Also sell cans of beer Cans of beer are for bbq round your mates house no decent restaurant that ive been to sells cans its bottles of pints The can was recommended i never choose it This is size of burger we took away small

This place already has a ton of reviews so gonna keep it short and sweet: Great burgers, great atmosphere (minus those pinche mosquitos), and great staff. Try the pastor burger. and the old fashioned was great! Get some different burgers and share with friends for sure. Lots of different flavors.
Jeffrey A — Google review
Went there with couple of friends on Saturday evening. The ambience was good and I really enjoyed the music at this place. I ordered Chicken burger which was ok ok type. The fries I got with my burger was soggy. We also tried their all the deserts in the menu. Guava pie was really nice, cheesecake was good too and I didn’t like the brownie. The service was fast. The staff was friendly.
Preeti G — Google review
To list down best burgers in this city, it is not so match my imagination. Maple burger is too greasy for me, I prefer something light vegetables add inside to balance . The French fried is a little bit dry. Total service is good and friendly.
Victor L — Google review
I came back after years, remembering what a great burger it was. The server was great. Sadly, however, what I got was incredibly saltly, completely losing the maple taste. It was also extremely overcooked.
Jacob C — Google review
Amazing burgers! Probably the best you'll taste in Guadalajara. The buns are soft and delicious, the meat is ultra-tasty, the toppings are really well paired altogether in a fantastic combination of flavours. Overall they have superb burgers; the place is clean and comfy with a nice setting. Service is great and staff is really amicable. Keep up the good work!

Mexican restaurant
Birriería las 9 Esquinas is a vibrant restaurant located in the charming neighborhood of Las Nueve Esquinas in Guadalajara, Mexico. It's a local favorite known for serving traditional Mexican birria, a spicy and hearty slow-cooked stew made with goat or mutton. The colorful interiors and lively atmosphere make it a great place to soak up the sounds of mariachi music after visiting Plaza de los Mariachis.
We were given wonderful recommendations from our server. The stewed goat meat was fantastic, the best I have had in Guadalajara. The broth was flavorful and the meat was tender. I can't wait to return! We were seated in a beautifully decorated area. Our server was very accommodating and helped us navigate the menu. Thanks for a wonderful meal!
Radyrick C — Google review
I thought the birria was ok. I prefer a stronger flavor. The small serving is small. I should have ordered the bigger size . The quesadillas were good. The salsas were excellent. The agua fresca was great. My favorite part was the beautiful open kitchen. The restaurant is beautiful. Great colors. All open walls. Beautiful small plaza in the center.
O H — Google review
As the capitol of Jalisco and Mexico’s second largest city the culinary traditions of Guadalajara run deep, and although Menudo or Torta Ahogada are rightfully loved by many Birria de Chivo has moved to another level thanks to international exposure from the United States to Copenhagen. A trend surely bolstered by Social Media, “juicy” Tacos plunged into savory Consomé perfect for the #gram, visitors to the Pearl of the West will instead find slow-cooked Goat served as Stew on many street corners as well as Restaurants like Birrieria Las 9 Esquinas between Americana and Analco. Arguably Jalisco’s favorite spot for Birria, hours from 8am until 9pm plus fair prices equally appealing to tourists and locals, early arrival is recommended to avoid long queues and also to sample Breakfast options such as hearty Chilaquiles with dueling Salsas and a choice of Protein. Using an old recipe for the slow-cooked Goat Stew, boneless with a lot less acidity and more fattiness than seen elsewhere, diners are welcome to add Lime or Onions to brighten things to their liking while those seeking something even richer can try a griddled handmade Tortilla with Meat and stretchy local Cheese for 60 Pesos.

Best birrias I have ever had! Everything is delicious The service is great also, fast, attentive and the place feels like from another era, open, friendly…you should visit.

Such a cool, atmospheric spot with super friendly staff! The food is seriously delicious — super fresh and totally authentic. They even make the tortillas right in front of you, which is awesome. Honestly, this is one of the best places I’ve ever had birria. If you’re into real Mexican flavors, you’ve gotta check this place out. Can’t wait to come back!

GREAT BIRRIA. The birria is great but whats makes it excellent is the awesome tortillas, salsas, beans, amazing coffee. My only complaint is that i jusy wanted a little but if queso fresco on the side not anything crazy to add to my birria. But they charges me 80 pesos 😐. But its whatever since everything else was great and amazing even the coffee and i dont even like coffee

Taco Fish La Paz is a seafood restaurant located in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The restaurant serves tacos made with a variety of sauces and toppings to suit each individual's taste. Although not an extravagant restaurant, Taco Fish La Paz is modern with its servers taking orders on iPads. Their most popular dish is the rebozado taco fish, but other delicious tacos include tuna or swordfish taco wrapped in a soft tortilla breading.
One of my favorite shrimp taco spots in the county. Love this place I only wish they were open later and took card. Only cash, long lines go quick ! Don’t be overwhelmed
Haris K — Google review
OMG Terrible experience at this place. It's the worst experience we ever had. We will never recommend this place to any of our friends or family. The place was overcrowded and its very unorganised. When we entered the premises, there was a huge crowd, we didn't understand what's happening there. There is no sign or instructions where to order the food and the ground was yuckk with food, dirty tissues and damp floor. Most of the tables were occupied and the salad bars were stinking. We had prawn tacos and quesadillas, burritos with shrimp and among all the burritos were decent to eat while the prawn tacos were dripping with oil and the tacos were so dry. The quesadillas were awful. Dry and disgusting. The meat inside was so horrible. Not sure what quality meat they use. We felt it was very worse. One of the staff was bit friendly and helped us how to order and she also couldn't find few seats for us to sit and eat. Felt sick and nauseous after eating them. Finally, we had beautiful experience in Lapaz fish tacos at LAPAZ a week ago and that one was so amazing. We thought this restaurant would be the same and totally got deceived. I think only the same was same but everything else is nothing the same. Not sure how they have such good google reviews. That's another way we fell for it. Save your money, health and go to some other nice place
Swetha P — Google review
Super delicious fish and shrimp 🍤 tacos, ceviche, octopus and marlin tostadas. They have al kind of toppings for your tacos. There's also sodas and "aguas frescas" of all sorts. I completely recommend this places. It is always very crowded but fast to order because they are well organized.
Ivonne H — Google review
The fish was barely warm but the toppings were at least fresh. If the fish had been hot, it would have been great!
Steven W — Google review
This establishment in Guadalajara boasts a rich history. The value for the price and the portion sizes is truly commendable. I had the pleasure of savoring a fish taco, a fried shrimp taco, and an empanada filled with marlin and shrimp, all of which were delightful. The self-service counter for salad dressings and sauces is also a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options. While the ordering process might be a bit unclear, requiring payment upfront and queuing in the opposite direction, the waiters are attentive in delivering beverages. I certainly plan to return for another visit.
Rafael M — Google review
✨️✨️✨️wow✨️✨️✨️ What can I say? It's THE fish taco place. We ordered 2 tacos each and it's HUGE so almost couldn't finish them haha. All locals already know here. Check it out!

Karne Garibaldi Santa Tere has been a staple in Guadalajara since 1970, specializing in carne en su jugo, a traditional Jalisco dish featuring sliced beef cooked in a flavorful broth with bacon and beans. The restaurant offers three bowl sizes and various sides like guacamole, quesadillas, or queso fundido. Known for its efficient service, it holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest restaurant service.
Great carne in su jugo, got the large and that was more than enough for me with the free tortillas and chips with beans they provide on the side. Pretty popular place so I had to wait a while to get seated
Guiping X — Google review
The restaurant was busy when we arrived and we waited for 15 mins to get in. The service inside was very fast. Horchata was good, a bit too sweet for us. The karne soup must be authentic as a lot of local people were enjoying it in the restaurant but it was just not to our taste.
Coco — Google review
It was good but didn't have that WOW factor. Service was quick, as advertised, but not at World Record timing...still quick though. Overall it was good.
Charles — Google review
Very overrated, I don’t recommend it, it was very slow it took us 7 min to get our food, and we asked for more tortillas and chips and we had to wait another 6 min. :(, also the food was okay nothing special about it. And lastly we waited more than 15 min just to get the check and pay. 🫠 My friends that live in Guadalajara recommend to go next door to Kamilos 333 instead.
Arturo ( — Google review
The most delicious carne en su jugo ever. You’ll get your food in a world record time (literally). The beans are so good that you’ll want to take some home….and you can! Ask about their cans or pouches of beans. Must visit restaurant in Guadalajara.
Arlette C — Google review
Karne Garibaldi is my favorite place to eat carne en su jugo. I have eaten this dish in a few restaurants in Guadalajara, but this is my personal preference. Moreover, this is where I bring friends who are new to Guadalajara and have not eaten this dish. I like that they bring out the compliments to the carne quickly. It gives you the opportunity to graze, relax, and snack if you are very hungry. IMHO, their flavors are on the mark. Tomatoes and onions are included in the guacamole. Additional, lime, cilantro, and onion are served separately. The corn in their bean dish is soft, as well as the bacon garnishing the carne en su jugo.
L. R — Google review
This is a casual and traditional eatery. They live up to the hype on flavour and the ultra quick service. The food was delicious and very affordable. This is ideal to have meal with a big group.
Jose R — Google review
The service was obviously not close to their Guinness world record, but it was still pretty fast. We got sat and almost right away someone was there to take our order. My wife and I each ordered some quesadillas and carne en su jugo. They dtsrtnyou off with some beans and chips. Well let me just say that those beans were so good that they were gone almost immediately . They brought us seconds. The carne en su jugo was super flavorful. The only thing that wasn't that great was the quesadillas de chorizo. It was good just nothing special really. Next time I'll just stick to their carne en su jugo.

Seafood restaurant
La Docena is a renowned seafood spot in Guadalajara, consistently ranked among the top 50 Best Restaurants in Latin America. Inspired by New Orleans and Louisiana's oyster bars and cajun kitchens, it combines Mexican seafood flavors with Argentine grill style. The menu features an amazing variety of oysters prepared in different styles. Located at Paseo Andares, this unique oyster bar offers a bustling atmosphere and exceptional seafood dishes that showcase the flavors of the sea.
The raw bar is very fresh and flavors they put together are so good! Also had the Jamaica Mezcal and it also did not disappoint. Highly recommend this chain. They had a lot of staff so even when it got busy there was no drop off in service. The cleanliness was a 10. Safe travels!
J C — Google review
Sadly I was quite disappointed by the food at La Docena. The oysters were good, but I ended up being charged more than $200 each. The crab soup had good flavor, though a little salty, and the crab meat was shredded into very tiny pieces, no there were no chunks at all. The tortillas that came with the soup were absolutely terrible, the tasted stale and I would have been disappointed if they were with $50 tacos, let alone with a meal that cost $1900 for one person. The grilled octopus was ok, but nothing special, the texture was mediocre and the flavor was shallow. I mention the price because if it was half as much I would say it was ok, and they had room to improve. At this price, and with their reputation, I feel they are not concerned with doing a good job anymore.
Will F — Google review
I visited Guadalajara for a couple of days and stayed near Sao Paulo Street. On my first night, I discovered La Casa De Los Platos and had a wonderful experience there. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. While walking around, I noticed that La Docena was very busy and seemed popular, so I decided to try it the next night. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the first night. The drinks were just average, and I was hoping to try guacamole—but what they served was a small portion of something similar. The menu is heavily focused on seafood and oysters, which didn’t really suit my taste, so I ended up ordering a burger. It was decent, but nothing memorable. Overall, I’d rate La Docena 3 stars. It might be a better fit for seafood lovers, but for me, it didn’t quite live up to the hype
Sep S — Google review

This place is amazing. Even with the power out for the first hour I was there they didn’t miss a beat. Power came on about halfway through. But with a woodfired oven, everything can continue on. From the amazing tequila, spicy blue crab soup, shrimp cocktail, to the amazing steak. Recommend highly.

El Abajeño Tlaquepaque is a popular restaurant known for its traditional Mexican cuisine and lively atmosphere. Located in the heart of Tlaquepaque, it offers a fun and family-friendly experience with options for children and even an area with games. The restaurant's specialty, Tortas Ahogadas, comes highly recommended by locals and visitors alike. Guests can enjoy live Mariachi music while savoring their meals in a relaxing courtyard or garden setting.
The food was good the platter I got was good and the meat was a little dry. I did get a margarita there and it was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. The atmosphere is very fun lots of mariachi bands people celebrating singing it's a very fun environment and very festive.

Traditional Mexican food served in a giant outdoor patio. My tortillas soup was good and my Mayan style Salmon was fine. I felt like both dishes could have used more seasoning.

We stopped by a couple of months ago based on a suggestion from a tour guide and it did not disappoint. Service for 4 people was quick for a busy weekend and the atmosphere was comfortable. Our server was attentive and got our order right away. Overall, a good choice around the area.

Hacienda type of place with a fountain in the middle, they have mariachi and dancing sometimes, the music can get really loud. The food is really bad except the appetizers, the cantaritos are worth trying. The service is slow and low quality meat. The place may be cool but that’s it, there are for sure better options in Tlaquepaque. They have parking on the back but gets full really fast, parking on the street is difficult.

Sushi restaurant
Suehiro is a Japanese restaurant and garden located in the heart of Guadalajara, offering an elegant and traditional dining experience. Since its opening in 1975, it has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The menu features a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes including sushi, nigiri, makimono, sashimi, tempura, noodles, hot soups, and desserts like tapioca or cheese flan.
Having the dinner first time which has been impressive to all my entourages. First time in the city town of Guadalajara, quite authentic but Mexicans feel like polite as Japanese culture. The most important which is all guests quiet dedicated to food from Japanese cuisine, no cheese in the sushi rolls at all. And hundreds options for every kinds of Japanese significance. If there is another change to travel Guadalajara, we definitely have the same place to hangout with friends.
Chuck, C — Google review
I love Asian food. It is important for me that sushi is made from fresh products without ingredients like Philadelphia cheese. I was able to find it here. The menu is very large, there is a lot to choose from (if you understand this, if not, it will be difficult, the menu has no pictures). The service is pleasant. It is better to book a table in advance if you are planning teppan. The interior is a bit old and requires minor improvements, but not critical. Large private parking.

This was quite a find, a lovely casual restaurant with good food, I had the emperor's sashimi plate and that did not disappoint, seaweed salad consisted of various types, usually used to the green seaweed. The staff were dressed in Kimonos, which gave it a somewhat authentic feel and enhanced the ambience, I was abstaining from eating meat due to Easter but I intend to go back and try the bbq. One big tip if you are going in a big group make sure you have reservations , gets busy and some were told the wait was at least an hr long, All payment types are accepted cash, card , phone , I was very pleasantly surprised , this is what giving the customers what they want and what they need. Good jobs guys/ gals.
Joseph P — Google review
I am almost in a dream remembering my first and only visit to Suehiro in 1984...My pilot friend Honey from Arizona, Johnny, my best friend from Cali, Colombia, and Wapo, one of Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo's lieutenants, had a crazy, boisterous time with the owner as our server and chef. Yes, it was all business, the kind of which you can hallucinate about and make your own guesses. Now that I've found their website after 40 years, it's so wonderful to find that this establishment still exists! Their food was a 10 of 10 and can only be described as outstanding. Onward! On that visit I was amazed that the owner could speak perfect Spanish to Wapo and Colombo Johnny, then perfect English to myself and Arizona Honey, then shout commands in Japanese to his workers. He used a spoon to shoot little shots of salt through the air across 6 feet of table, then 10 feet, then what, 15 feet? He did so while talking to us, laughing, and walking backwards from the teppanyaki grill where we were sitting....and each time he did so, we all did a complimentary shot of tequila. Salut. I have done over 1,200 Google reviews and have posted over 5,000 photos. Strangely, as I move across worlds and touch base with experiences from my past, I have discovered that many of my favorite places are still alive on Planet Earth. How amazing after 40+ years. Some of those involved may not be with us any longer, however thanks to the pioneers who made it all happen.......

Food was too comercial. We were at the hibachi table, I asked for shrimp and it was mice and probably not even 3 shrimp. Flavor was good but even the regular vegetables they go with it like zucchini, mushrooms and carrot... we got cabbage and sweet peppers and onions

Great place with great staff. We ate here on a casual midweek day! It wasn't that busy, so we could really quick take a seat. The menu's (4 of them) are very accurate in multiple languages, so a lot of people could read that. The food itself was very good and not that expensive. We ate a lot of food and we didn't have to snack or eat breakfast the next day, because we were so full of food 🤣. I would 100% recommend it!
Olivier J — Google review
The place is really busy, very nice, but my food was salty (too much soy sauce by the teppanyaki chef, none added by me), and the meat on my plate was kind of chewy even though is was cooked through. The server was nice and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. I ordered a green tea and expected just iced regular green tea, but I was served matcha, which is not the same thing. Regular green tea has a smoth flavor, while tannins in matcha do not let you apreciate the food flavors. Suehiro should consider adding a Jazmin green tea (with flowers) instead of matcha.
Laura F — Google review
The place was very nice and upscale. We made an appointment and arrived on time and were seated right away. We ordered a ton of Nigri and some rolls. The fatty tuna and bluefin where amazing. Everything was so good and just melt in the mouth. We will be returning when we crave sushi again!

Good tasting torta. Got mine with everything. Didn't like the fact that you have to prepare your own. Not a fan of people serving themselves. Won't be back.

Tasty carnitas! They offer tortas and tacos, they have now panela cheese and shrimp. You need to order and pay first, then collect your food and beverages. Open seating and toppings available for your order such as beans, cabbage, salsa, chile and lime. The service could improve, the staff is moody and the floor is really dirty, they need to work on cleanliness.

This spot has the best tortas in Guadalajara! The flavors are incredible, the ingredients are fresh, and every bite is packed with authentic goodness. The restaurant is spotless, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making the experience even better.

While there are options for vegetarians, it’s not the best eating experience. Not a ding on the restaurant, just a reality when it comes to tortas. That aside, the sauces and service excellent.

El Sacromonte is a renowned matador-themed restaurant in Guadalajara, offering an elegant atmosphere and gourmet Mexican cuisine. The menu features refined dishes like stuffed chili peppers with pomegranate seeds, mango ceviche, and playful variations such as quesadillas with rose petals and strawberries. This family-run establishment has gained a loyal local following and is popular among tourists seeking traditional Mexican dining experiences.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this vibrant restaurant that puts a delightful flair on traditional Mexican cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere—pops of colorful lanterns, beautifully patterned table linens, and a stunning mural near the bar that all complemented each other tastefully. The service was attentive and friendly, making our ladies’ lunch all the more enjoyable. I ordered the shrimp avocado salad, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, tangy, and perfectly balanced with high-quality ingredients. Adding to the wonderful ambiance, a talented pianist played live music throughout our meal, enhancing the experience with a relaxing and elegant touch. Overall, this restaurant offers an excellent combination of great food, inviting decor, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a fresh take on classic Mexican flavors in a lively yet welcoming setting.

Exquisite gourmet Mexican cuisine. Note to self: when we return to Guadalajara come back here again and order the first item on the main course menu which is the stuffed bell peppers. The ambiance here is wonderful and there was a piano player performing throughout the meal.

This place doesn't get the recognition it deserves. The food is among the best if not the best food I've had in this region of Mexico. I had the Duck. It was fall off the bone tender and delicious. My husband had the steak and it's was one of the best, cooked to the perfect medium rare temperature (hard to find that in this region). We had the Goya's Mosaic for the appetizer it was so good. They combination of the salmon, cheese cucumber and the other sides just splendid. 100/10 highly recommend. I'll be going back again.
Savanah G — Google review
We ere a party of three, two of us had chile en nogada, one had Lengua en mole, the lengua en mole was good, the lengua was tender and the mole was very good. But the main reason we went to el sacromonte was to try the chile n nogada that someone recommended. The nogada was way too sweet (it tasted more like a sweet nut dressing) and not enough, pomegranate was to little as well, the pepper itself had not flavor and it was not spicy at all it was like biting a piece of grass. The place in general is high in prices, Buy the chile en nogada which normally is serve with no sides It’s also too expensive: $380 just for One chile The service was great at the beginning that a gentleman, nice waiter started helping us. For some reason shortly after they change our waiter and instead we had a younger waiter. Our new waiter treated us as if he was not having a good day… his service was anything but good. The atmosphere… even if it’s a very nice big open space in the restaurant it was very hot. (It was not a hot day in Guadalajara today) and even having a big open window on the left side of the entrance and another couple of open spaces the place was very hot and all they had were to small electric fans, one at the entrance of the restaurant and one in one of the corners of the restaurant which both of them were not enough to cool down the whole restaurant area. OJO… even if you park at the restaurant parking spot… they charge $60 pesos for parking I would not go back the this place I Do not recommend it

I liked this restaurant a lot! Its design is very nice, all decorations are beautiful. The food I ordered was tasty. Also the menu has a few very interesting items to try. Prices are a little bit high, but mostly reasonable. I absolutely recommend to check this restaurant!

Extremely wonderful place. Loved it. Upscale, but worth every peso.
S S — Google review
The restaurant ambiance was relaxing with soft background music and table spacing that allowed private group conversations. The restaurant is open to the outside through window, and where trees grow through the roof. The bar is well stocked and very attractive. The Día de Muerte alter was set for past staff, pianist, and owner. Our meal included a bean soup that was so rich and tasty. The soup was poured over cheese, tomato and cucumber at the table. The main meals were ribeye and pork, the latter falling off the bone and so tender and tasty. The meal came with bread rolls and twisted crackers and corn tortillas. I highly recommend the margarita. It is also very good and was perfect for the warm day. We finished the meal with flan which was accompanied with strawberries and raspberries. Thanks to Paco for great service.
Cass A — Google review
I found El Sacromonte on a best of list for Guadalajara, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is what I think of as a traditional Spanish inspired Mexican restaurant. The ambience was magical to say the least. There is no reason at all you should move past this on your decision of where to dine if you are reading this. You have to try the Quesadilla, don’t worry it’s not what you would expect of a boring standard quesadilla. Instead, it was empanada style with strawberry aoli infused with rose. 5/5. Followed that with the Goya Mosaic. A woven smoked salmon with panela cheese. Gave lox and bagels vibes. Very good. 4/5 I had the duck entree, and it was the best duck dish I have ever had. The sauce was sweet yet savory. Paired with the duck meat and the beautifully fatty skin the was delightful and took the flavors to another level. 5/5. Finally, we finished with the Pollo Mole. This was fantastic and exactly what you think of when having a mole. 5/5. The 4.6 rating is to low for this restaurant , seriously. Don’t miss out on an amazing experience. I feel horrible that I can’t remember my waiter’s name but he was excellent! I don’t speak that much Spanish, however he made me feel like I was doing a great job and made the overall experience something I will never forget about my trip to Guadalajara.

We didn't eat, just went there for drinks. We sat at the bar, which we loved. Live piano music and an attentive bartender. Great service, tasty drinks in a really cool atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable for the experience. We'd definitely return if in the area. Prices are dictated on a menu contrary to some of the other reviews.

Looks like a classic bar "cantina" from the 50s, but not that old, is a like a mix between old and new, I don't like that much, I prefer a place with a clear concept, but is not bad. The restaurant offers a traditional fonda style dining experience within a market setting, complete with an open kitchen where guests can watch skilled cooks prepare handmade blue corn tortillas and fresh salsas.
This place is located in a Mercado. You sit on a long communal table. No reservations accepted. That said the food is amazing. The plates are small and great for sharing. I recommend to start at the top of the menu order 3 items share with one other person. Then go back and try the next three items till you try the whole menu.

Cool little place inside of a small market. There is nice and lively atmosphere with lots of locals and the restaurant’s open kitchen. :-) We got to the restaurant at 11 am on Sunday and waited for 15 minutes or so after listing our name. Wow! What a gem! I will tell everyone that comes to GDL to try this delicious restaurant. From the cafe de olla being incredible as is, to the food, to the atmosphere - this place is a must. I’m so glad I had a friend take me here!! The coffee was delightful, hints of chocolate and cinnamon as I was sipping 😍 I didn’t expect it and was so grateful. They also had a selection of regular or carbonated kombucha that I tried. The two meals we shared - quesadilla and encotijada - blew me away. I wish I could have ordered them both again. And my friend has tried most things on the menu and says they’re all just as good. Allergy wise - they use blue corn tortillas, which were delicious! I was surprised since flour is so much more common in Mexican food but also grateful! If you’re allergic to lactose - being lactaid! It’s worth it!! Also, it was super fun sitting at the long family style table. But I’d say look at the typical traffic time because there were rarely more than two spots available together while we were there. Incredible! I hope to go back!

Alfonso makes a great breakfast and lunch. I have been coming hear for years. I got my first taste of menudo here after landing in Guadalajara. The place can get crowded but the service is fast and a place at the bar usually opens up fast. The grilled meats are also really good. They have some staples like carne asada and lamb, as well as a couple of exotics like ostrich. There are few places in the Guadalajara where you can eat so well for such a great price. The best taco place in all of Guadalajara. And the service is excellent. Their food is delicious, all there meats are cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their salsas are amazing. Best tacos in the city! They’re really small though and not cheap, but worth it. Good ingredients, really clean and the staff is helpful. They never have peinecillo although is on the menu, and sometimes you have to wait in line to get in. This is not a restaurant to stay and have dinner conversations as is extremely noisy and not comfortable, much more on the get a table, eat your food, pay and leave side.

The tacos were good, it is a bit of caos in there. Some tacos come with chile, so I couldn't eat them. Server never mentioned they came with chile on them. These tacos were very mid and overpriced. I was looking for flavor but never got any. I tried almost every taco and they were all just nothing more than “good”. The only tacos that were actually pretty good were the carnaza tacos. All the others just left wondering where the flavor was. The service is very good tho attended very well. But also the PRICE. It is very expensive when you compare it to other tacos places in mexico

This legendary place is 35 years old. We had the pastor, the cheeks (cachete) and the asada. We had a few with cheese and most without. The egg custard thing for dessert was also epic. Super busy but the service is fast and the 40 employees here work like a finely oiled machine. I was so impressed. My girlfriend said best asada taco in the world. The pastor also world class. Great ambience cause it’s a good mix of people and i like the neighborhood. They have ample parking in front of the restaurant and with a lot across the street. Will be back. Located on Jose Guadalupe Zuno Hernandez Street in Colonia Americana, Zuno Cafe is a charming breakfast spot with a welcoming patio for outdoor seating. The cafe opens early and offers a variety of delicious breakfast options, including avocado toast with poached egg, fruit bowls, and cappuccinos with whipped cream. The cozy ambiance and friendly service make it a popular choice for visitors looking to enjoy a delightful breakfast experience in Chapultepec.
Always an enjoyable relaxed experience in this hidden gem. Definetly enjoy their outdoor patio dining area. Fresh high quality food items along with a nice selection of cafes, lattes, and cocktails. Service is always attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wow! What a great brunch we had! We sat in the outdoor area and enjoyed great food and service. Very cool and historic building that used to be a governor’s home. 😊
Jae S — Google review
Fluffy, tasty, and not too sweet, just how I like my French toast. The service was good as well, the staff were all kind. It’s a little hidden, you have to walk down the path to get to the restaurant

Love that this place offers breakfast until 2:30 most days. Como un viejo gringo, I am always treated with a smile. Large menu. The ingredients and flavors seem very fresh, wish I had discovered this clean, friendly place earlier during my visit to GDL.

Zuno is a nice cozy Cafe with variety of food for breakfast and brunch. the rush hour in the morning is crazy but worth the waiting if you wanna try their amazing food and drinks.
Babak B — Google review
Had breakfast at Zuno on my last day in Guadalajara. I'm glad I did. This is a cute little breakfast joint with a lovely patio for outdoor seating. I ordered their avocado toast with poached egg, fruit bowl and cappuccino with whipped cream. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Zuno opens earlier than most breakfast places in Guadalajara. A big plus for me.

This restaurant gets 5 stars for beauty Such a gorgeous space! The food was very good and portions are large. Very friendly staff. I highly reccomend Zuno for a wonderful breakfast in Chapultepec.

The place is super cozy and contemporary, loved the artwork. Service was excellent, they were very attentive. I had a short latte but it was more of a white flat. Taste was ok, but in a bit picky with coffee. It’s a great place to go when you want to catch up with someone special, or wanna meet someone new. Thank you Zuno Café
