If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of Tlaquepaque, make sure to stop by Nieves de Garrafa Chapalita for a refreshing treat that perfectly captures the essence of Mexican summer. This delightful establishment specializes in nieves de garrafa, a hand-churned sorbet-like dessert that comes in an astonishing array of flavors.
I had the tropical w passion fruit! Delicious 🤤 made me want to try more flavors I will be back
Andrea A — Google review
I love ice cream; I am someone who regularly walks an hour to find the best ice cream in a new city (and I travel a lot). Sadly, I found the ice cream here to be very bad. First of all, it's not ice >cream<. It's ice, not creamy at all, and generally lacking in flavour - even when unfrozen to be more liquid, it's just ice water with a hint of flavour. The flavours I chose did not at all resemble what they should be. The kitkat tasted like coffee (if anytjing at all - and this was the staff's recommendation), the magnum tasted like nothing, was white, and had a huge pecan nut inside (the traditional magnum is brown, and if there should be any nuts, they should be almonds), and the tres leches also tasted like nothing. Frankly, I do not believe I was given the flavours I ordered, but I went back to ask and the lady confirmed I received what I ordered. My girlfriend ordered an oreo flavour, which at least resembled the oreo flavour, but was still bad because it was ice, not ice cream. These orders get served in a flexible cup. Flexible, as in, when you hold it in your hand, you inadvertedly squeeze it ever so slightly and push out the ice. Which means that, especially on a hot day (and this is Guadalajara...), it will leak. This also means that you need to eat with a spoon; you can't lick all the ice out of the cup. Eating ice cream with a spoon inherently tastes worse than licking ice cream with your tongue. You are not allowed to go inside the venue, and so there is no seating space besides the small stone not-benches placed by the road. One of the staff members continuously walks the street to offer people small ice creams, which seems a bit odd? The staff in general is very friendly though. All in all this seems like a tourist trap for Instagram, given that the dozens of flavours they offer are apparently this terrible.
Roy O — Google review
The line is so worth the wait. Great mix of traditional simple flavours, and funky ones. SWINKLES 10/10. They even have sugar free (Splenda) options. Water based, milk, even yogurt. Def a must try for a traditional tapatie experience that is worth it

Delicious fresh ice creams! What a treat, many flavors to choose from. Make this a sweet stop when exploring Tlaquepaque.
Gus F — Google review
They're the best ones in all tlaquepaque! They have a long list of flavors. I haven't try it all because I'm very peculiar with flavors but the ones I've tried they were tasty. Even is always packed they work fast in your order. These youngsters move fast so they can get rid of the crowd.
Marcie R — Google review
These nieves (ice cream), are of excellent quality and while the price is not cheap it is not very expensive. They have a line of flavors with Splenda instead of sugar that are really

The flavors are amazing, the service is fast and well organized, and do not make the mistake of taking the wrong item. Keep track of your server.

I was suggested this place by my friend to stop by. Hands down best tasting ice cream ever in my opinion. They have too many flavors to choose from. I got the Chocolate Abuelita flavor so so so good! Before my trip ended I stoped by again and the Limon flavor omg too good. If you’re ever in Tlaquepaque you must try this place there is always a line but it moves quick and it’s so worth it!!

Tejuino El Güero Jose is a must-try when exploring the vibrant streets of Guadalajara. This delightful beverage, made from fermented corn masa, embodies the rich culinary traditions of Jalisco and Chihuahua. The process involves mixing masa with water and piloncillo, boiling it until thick, and allowing it to ferment slightly before serving it cold.
(Translated by Google) The guide on a tour we took recommended it to us, as one of the best tejuinos in Guadalajara. And yes, it is delicious, it is a little difficult to find if you don't know the San Juan de Dios Market, but by asking you can easily get there. They serve it alone or as is traditional there, with lemon and salt on the bottom and lemon snow on top. The man who served it to us gave us the good tip of stirring it with the straw before each drink, so that the salt dissolves.

Nestled in the vibrant Monraz area of Guadalajara, El Italiano is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This upscale restaurant boasts stylish decor and offers a delightful array of authentic Italian dishes, from grilled steaks to fresh seafood. Pasta lovers will be thrilled with the extensive selection, which also includes mouthwatering pizzas, risottos, and decadent desserts.
Nice place to enjoy Italian food. One of the best one in Mexico.
STERDAM — Google review
Good fresh pasta just a little salty and portions have been reduced. The service is really slow and forgetful, specially on Sundays. Good variety of wine and place is well decorated.

My friends and I had a wonderful dinner here while we were in Guadalajara. Everything was very good. We loved our food choices and the service was excellent. This was my second time to eat here on trios to Guadalajara and I would definitely go back.
Dave S — Google review
Delicious food, not to pricey. Had a cosmopolitan martini and it was amazing. For dinner I had the linguinni with shrip and it was perfect, my son had a pizza and it was great, the waiter was very nice and gave us the specials of the evening. Really like this place.

Ristorante Da Massimo is an amazing Italian restaurant that serves some of the best food in Guadalajara. The couple who own the place are Italian and very kind, and the food is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and it's a must-go for anyone looking for a great dining experience.
Its really great fine dining! The entree are good, the main dish are nice. If you are foreigners, try Mescal its gonna make your evening better. I tried their salmon dish, reccomended.😁

Excellent! A warm welcome and I immediately stepped into another atmosphere. A very relaxed and comfortable environment. The staff we attentive without being overbearing and intrusive. Everything was great. The food was amazing with proper portion sizes. You can tell that quality and attention to detail go into the food as well as all other aspects of the restaurant and the comfort of their guests. I would recommend Ristorante Da Massimo to anyone wanting an authentic, quality Italian meal. I look forward to returning.

Pricy but delicious menu. Must try thw eggplant appetizer
Eddy B — Google review
They receive you with a warm welcome. Waiters are very attentive. Food portions are average as compared to other restaurants. The pasta was very fresh, you can taste the difference. That’s a plus for them. Food was delicious. The only downside would be their prices, as they tend to be way above market prices. Be prepared to pay about twice the price on pasta.

Everything from the welcome to dessert was fantastic, Miguel our waiter was very helpful and not hoovering around us,just enough attention to make us feel welcome,we will definitely come back!

Amazing place. The couple that own the place are Italian and very gentile. The foot tastes amazing and the presentation is also incredible. The place itself offers a really good atmosphere and I really recommend it. If you are looking for a place to dine in couple I really recommend this place.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Romea is a bistro located in the Americana neighborhood, offering a diverse experience beyond just being a tapas bar. The menu includes rich and hearty breakfast options such as the exotic shakshuka from North Africa with feta cheese, poached egg, and spices. For tapas, they serve options like tomata with serrano ham or strawberry with caramelized onion.
I absolutely love this place. I live in Los Angeles where we have have some of the best variety of food and this place certainly reminded me of back home in LA. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The arugala was fresh. This place is small which I love! I feel like it makes the service more personal. The workers are very kind. And everything is made in a small kitchen that is perfectly placed right in the dining area. Haven't tried the wine or even gone for dinner but I definitely plan on coming back.
Angela M — Google review
Coffee is really nice, it is pet friendly. And you can choose to go in the morning afternoon or evening but it's always a good choice to grab a cup of coffee!
Karina P — Google review
Good option for a wine bar, they sell cocktails and beer as well. Small menu but well executed, big enough variety on wine by the glass although there’s no menu but blackboards on the wall, the staff would explain the options if asked. The place has a good ambience and music, is clean and normal to low noise level. They offer breakfast on the weekends and you can sit by the bar if needed. Zero parking and no valet so be prepared to drive around at least for 10min to find a spot.
AO D — Google review
I was not a fan. Prices were approaching California level, certainly for wine, and what you get is a measured out 100, or 200 ml of juice. The food is Italian, which is blah, but people in Mexico seem to think it's the bees knees. Service was on the slow side though not bad. Place is pretty dark at night, super mood lighting.
Bobby C — Google review
The best breakfast we had. We had a large group and they fit us in right away and treated us wonderfully. The food and coffee was amazing and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
Aarika — Google review
I went there last Friday night with my boyfriend and can’t complain about the drinks and food, they were okay. Though portions are hilariously small. Kind of fancy-sized portions. The place and menu have a Madrid bar feel. What I didn’t like was the service. The staff’s attitude was unfriendly and not welcoming, we ordered extra bread that wasn’t delivered and when we asked to have our bill split the waiter said we had to give her the exact amount ourselves (maybe this bar should consider giving their staff a calculator as a work tool), and, well, as I just said: atmosphere unfriendly and not welcoming. I am going to give it a try to this place one more time, since it is one block away from my boyfriend’s house and hopefully next time I will have the chance to transmit to staff how I’d like to be treated since I am a good customer and I am just trying to relax and have a good time at the bar a Friday night!
The B — Google review
Horrible place and staff. Stopped by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon. They had about 20 tables open tables perhaps more. Most with nice outside views. We sat down at one, we were then told it was reserved, walked towards another with nice views and one of the waiters actually put a reserved sign on the table as we were trying to move to it. We were then told everything was reserved so they stuck us at the worse table they have with an inward wall view next to the wait station. Checked OpenTable and they are wide open all evening so it was obviously a lie. I wouldn’t come back here simply because there are so many other choices in the area with staff that doesn’t lie at restaurants that don’t pretend to have reserved tables that are in fact empty so that they (the staff and restaurant) can feel important. Go elsewhere…
James M — Google review
Staffs are nice. I took 3 cheese sandwich and my friend took beef something sandwich. I recommend you order beef sth. Because what I ordered doesn’t give vegetable. The thing is coffee is pretty nice. And they have menu for breakfast and it looks good as well. Price is not cheap.

Impressive and Amazing variety of tequila. I meant literally thousands.
Sam R — Google review
World Record for most varieties of tequila commercially available! I was in awe when I walked in. The amount of bottles in there was insane. From 750ml all the way to 1L+. Seen some bottles of siete Leguas I believe was 1.5L, I knew they had 1L but wow that bottle had to have been 1.5L at least (forgot to take a picture) I found bottles here that I would never find in 🇺🇸 Amazing prices and the workers are very knowledgeable

Bakery
Karmele is a small cafe known for its tempting pastries and friendly service. Despite some negative reviews, visitors found the service prompt and the atmosphere pleasant. The almond croissant was particularly praised, reminiscent of those found in France. The cafe offers a variety of pastries, with highlights including the lemon pie and rosca de nuez. While some felt that the coffee options were lacking, others enjoyed their lattes.
One of the best places in GDL for bread and pastries. They got artisanal breads with masa madre, and even really good local bread called Birote. Coffee is great too. It’s a nice place to hang with friends. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is bagel🤣 It gets busy so you will need to be patient and not in an hurry.
Alice L — Google review
A HIP BAKERY: Searching for a bakery with a pleasant vibe and delicious breads? Karmele has all that and more. I tried the chocolate Karmelito, a decadent croissant fashioned into the shape of a roll. The carrot cake was also tasty, but with less pop. My wife tried a panini. The toasted birote was well appointed with tomatoes and a bed of sprouts. A house-blend mustard gave it just a kick of tanginess. The coffees are prepared fresh and spot on. A beautiful selection of sourdough breads are also available, though we we did try them on this occasion. The only negative is that—because of its popularity—there are sometimes long waiting times, especially if you order a panini or other item that requires some preparation. Notwithstanding, Karmele is a definite keeper.
Jamie P — Google review
I went with high expectation after my friends being in awe of pastry here. I knew about long lines - so prepare for them even in the evening. This is a hype place. Pastry itself looks amazing, however its taste could be better. I took Berlinese 6/10: It contained some low quality chocolate which had too much sugar. Babka 4/10: very dry. Looks amazing, but is too dry. Karmele con Guyaba 8/10 - this was good, French pastry + guyaba. The thing is it’s too sweet, it should be sweet, but I think they use extensive amount of sugar. Advantages: Amazing presentation of pastry, great and fast service. Place is very nice located, it looks very nice, atmosphere is so vibrant.

Guadalajara Eats 2024 #4, Cafe/bakery #20: One of my favorite bakeries not only in Guadalajara but all of Mexico. Have been here 7-8 times and have never had a poor experience. Definitely order a karmelito (or 2) while here (depending on what's available) and a rollo de cacao or cardamomo. The cheesecake and croissants are great as well. If you're more in the mood for something savory, their quiche is great as are their sandwiches. Their hot coffees and cold brews are wonderful here, too. The only thing I've ever ordered that I didn't like was their banana bread. Otherwise, I have thoroughly enjoyed all their offerings. The only knock I can think of is that they seldomly have all their flavors of karmelitos available. It's to be expected though as they're that damn good. Karmele was a major reason I returned to Guadalajara this April.
Tristan ( — Google review
The most unfortunate thing was I went here on my way out of town and missed out going daily. We ordered the choclatin and a plain croissant, a latte and a flat white to go. The coffees were hot, which doesn’t seem to be a thing from my experience. So, I was happy with that and they were delicious The pastries were flaky and absolutely delicious. In a world of oversized pastries covered in all sorts of toppings, these were the essence of quality baking. Simply perfect. I will definitely return on my next trip and look forward to trying more options. I should also add that there was adequate staff who were attentive and helpful.
Gary S — Google review
I read all the reviews of this place before going. Lots of complaints about service and flies. But I went with an open mind. The service was very friendly and prompt. There was a fly repellant device on the counter and I saw no flies on the pastries. The sweeter things were enclosed in a glass case. I had a ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was perfect. The sandwich was heated properly in an oven so the croissant stayed crispy. I could taste the quality of the olive oil in the salad dressing. Great place, reasonable prices. Lots of people working on their laptops inside, but plenty of space still. I will com back.

(Translated by Google) The potatoes taste great, and when we first started going there, they served the octopus and sausages very full. Even if you ordered just potatoes, the plate was very full. However, the last few times we've been, they've already given us even emptier plates, even though we always order the large plate. They don't care if you ask them to add more potatoes anymore; they'll add whatever they want. And the Chantilly cream tastes awful; you can tell it's cheap. They've also forgotten our order two or three times and kept us waiting there for a long time. The photo with the only potatoes is how they served the plate before, and the other photo is how it's served now (sometimes you order more potatoes than octopus or more octopus than sausage, and they don't give a damn about giving you the same amounts).

If you're on the hunt for a delightful sweet treat, look no further than Jericallas Mi Tradición Tapatía. This traditional dessert hails from Guadalajara and boasts a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. Originating from the name of a region in Spain, jericalla is a delicious blend of European and Mexican flavors, combining milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon into a creamy concoction reminiscent of flan and crème brûlée.

Postrería Gdl is a dessert mecca in Guadalajara that has recently started offering breakfast. Visitors can indulge in delicious breakfast sandwiches and Mexican Moka coffee, all served with a side of tasty salad. The café also offers an array of exquisite desserts, each carefully crafted to provide a unique and creative culinary experience. Guests are advised to savor the desserts one at a time to fully appreciate their delicate details.
I couldn't be happier that I found this place!! If you want to treat yourself to something special, definitely give this place a shot. The desserts are all crafted (yes, crafted) with such care, and the flavors are seriously extraordinary. One thing to note is that the desserts are all seasonal, so we showed them photos of old desserts that we wanted to order but they were no longer available. But everything we had was incredible! I already can't wait to go back.
Laura J — Google review
Our family had a wonderful experience at Postreria! We ordered four desserts (one for each of us) and shared one of the most delicious sweet culinary experiences. Each dish was unique, considered and creative. Not a texture or flavor was misplaced. Every bite was exciting. We couldn’t decide which dessert was the best. The only mistake we made was having the desserts arrive all at once. It would have been better to have one plate at a time as each one has delicate details that should be eaten right away. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and work involved. We had great service and enjoyed the atmosphere immensely, being able to see the production added to our appreciation of the desserts. This was a highlight of our visit to GDL.
J M — Google review
We had the dessert tasting with five courses and five "amuse-bouche" and it was lovely! No dessert was too sweet as to turn us off from wanting the next course and by the final course of chocolate we were so full it was not possible to clean that last plate. Starting with light fruit flavors and deepening in intensity as you progress through, each was spectacularly presented and intense with complexity. You want to do this... really. The indulgence was worth every minute and penny. "Really?!? You have a bowl of liquid nitrogen at the table... what are you gonna do with that? Oh! Oh, that's AWESOME!"
Thomas N — Google review
First time here! Different and creative dessert place. Prices are reasonable and when the dessert are brought out to the table, they will explain about the dessert like the flavors, ingredients etc. People at this cafe speaks English. A must visit place when you’re in Guadalajara.

I really enjoyed this cute breakfast cafe. It was a block from my apartment and a complete treat. I order a croissant breakfast sandwich but unfortunately their croissants hadn’t been delivered yet. Although a little disappointed (I LOVE croissants), the server quickly offered the sandwich on brioche bread. What!! Girl, say less. That sandwich was good and the brioche was a great suggestion! I also had a Moka (Mocha) and I could taste it was 100% Mexican. Yum! I had my order to-go which came with a tasty salad.

Hate to have to give 2 stars because this is a beautiful, delicious restaurant. We arrived at 1:38pm and were handed breakfast/brunch menus. I explained I would wait till 2 to place my crepe caprese order (since they do not offer the lunch menu until then). My husband and a visiting guest ordered from the breakfast menu. While dining, I observed that we never had one waiter attending us but multiple, which was confusing and gave not one waiter any responsibility. I witnessed other tables having to shout across the patio to receive any attention. We asked for plates and trash to be removed 3 times during our meal, never an initiative from the multiple waiters. Once 2 pm came, we double checked that the crepe order was put in. Any question from our table was answered very passively. 2:18pm arrived I watched the entire staff in the restaurant walking around with nothing to do and working very slowly without care to attend to their tables. After asking a second time about the crepe, it came to the table at 2:25pm. The Caprese crepe is with cheese and cherry tomatoes on top. Never experienced a long wait at any of the other locations for the simple crepe.. I would not recommend this restaurant location simply because of the staff.

Nestled in the heart of Guadalajara, Maison Paulette is a delightful gem offering an exquisite dining experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance exuded warmth and sophistication, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The service at Maison Paulette was impeccable; every detail was meticulously attended to with a genuine smile. The staff was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their offerings, which added a personal touch to our visit. Now, onto the highlight - the food. Maison Paulette's menu is a fusion of French and Mexican cuisine, and each dish we tried was a testament to culinary mastery. The French toast, a personal favorite, was an absolute standout. Perfectly golden and generously topped, it redefined what French toast should be. Equally impressive were the green chilaquiles, a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that showcased the chef's skill in blending traditional Mexican ingredients with a contemporary twist. Each bite was a celebration of freshness and flavor, leaving us craving more. In conclusion, Maison Paulette in Guadalajara not only met but surpassed our expectations with its exceptional food and service. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this charming establishment promises an unparalleled dining experience that celebrates both French and Mexican culinary traditions with flair. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable gastronomic adventure in Guadalajara.

• Ambiance: 👍 The restaurant looks very nice and since is quite photogenic, it naturally invites insta influencers / people to take pictures of the place and dishes. • Menú: 👋, so so. Most food here is good, not great. Of course everything comes down to personal preference when it comes to food, all pallets are different, BUT, if I may make a few suggestions, order the Eggs Benedicts as breakfast / brunch. Or one of their desserts. Overall I would recommend this place mostly because of their deserts than anything else👌 • Coffee: 👎 Been hugely into coffee myself, hand crafted good quality coffee, I would say this is this restaurant biggest weakness. Is far from been even a simple good cup of coffee and late, just out of curiosity I have try all their coffees and lattes, they all disappointed me. • Terribly slow service: 👎 I have been coming here for at least 7 times, and there (service has always been super and terribly slow). • Accessibility: 👍 Accessibility is great, the whole restaurant is 1 level and does not require ramp or elevator. Parking lot is quite small and can easily be a problem at peak hrs, I recommend coming early. • Location: 👍 In comparison to most of their other locations in this city, this one is the biggest of them all. It is very nice looking for dining both in, or outside. The location feels quite safe. - Feedback: #1 This restaurant really needs someone who energizes the team to speed up service. People come to places like this for a good dessert, brunch etc / chill, but employees here seem a lot more relax than their actual costumers, it should go the other way around, just saying. I should not have to stand up / go hunting every few minutes to get some decent attention. • Little less having to wait a ton of time for simple things like pre made desserts, water or a cup of coffee. This part in particular I find it quite ridiculous if I’m been honest. Why should anybody have to wait more than a few minutes for a delicious dessert that it’s just standing there. #2 ((Waiters should always check their table every few minutes)) and keep them selfs busy instead of waiting for food to come out of the kitchen or dessert/coffee bar, at a good 5 star restaurant employees have absolutely always something to do / attend, not wait for things to happen. What ever they do they really need to learn how to hustle.

This place is beautiful and thats why I stopped there. They made us wait like 15 Minutes to get in. Then we got seated we asked to be moved because the plans were dripping on us. So we get moved and they take a minute to take the order and like half hour or more to deliver. It was only three coffee cups. One of them was a chai which i do not recommend. It had so much grounded tea in the bottom I couldn't stop coughing when i tried to talk. It was like grounds of coffee and pepper. Its an adorable place but be ready to wait and overpay. The only reason I don't give it two stars is that it seems the waiters really cared even when they took forever and I had to get up and ask for items such as napkins and the check a couple of times.

I just open by saying the owner was kind and requested our feedback regarding our meal. Unfortunately, our experience and our meal were not good. Upon arriving I appreciated we were provided the opportunity to choose our own table. As well, the button at the table to request service was a nice touch considering the layout of the restaurant could prove to be difficult for keeping watch over customers' needs. The first service fail was having to request water four times. From there the issue was the food itself. My friend had spaghetti and I chose the Hawaiian Chiaba. The lasagna was served without bread. Okay - we didn't read closely enough. That's on us. My friend said the dish tasted like a boxed meal. I had the Hawaiian sandwich. Sadly, the ham in the sandwich was a single slice of deli meat. The rest of the sandwich was caramelized pineapple and mayonnaise dressing. I am not sure what drove the owner to begin to service our table, but he was very kind and requested our feedback. We shared both of the notes above. Maybe it's because I'm American, but it was definitely interesting to hear, "We would have put more meat if you'd asked." Fair point. I didn't ask. His comment was not defensive and he apologized for our experience. Nice guy. Space was cute. The food was nothing more than what I could buy late night at the Oxxo.

Great cafe in colonia Americana. Excellent food, the 3 cheese sandwich with the tomato soup combo was amazing. Very cozy outdoor siting area. This new coffee shop in the neighborhood was recommended by a barista, so I decided to check it out. I tried two different kinds of coffee. While the medium roast for the pour-over wasn’t my favorite, it was still pretty good overall. One thing I appreciated is that they have an English menu, which explains each food item really well. Their food options are more extensive than most coffee shops, and the quality is definitely above average. I ordered the French Toast Reload, and it didn’t disappoint! It comes with gelato and their house-made jam, which made it a unique and delicious treat. Overall, I wouldn’t highly recommend it, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for good coffee and food.

I stopped by around 2PM on a Saturday. There were plenty of seats to choose from. In the 90-degree weather, I chose to sit outside by the plants to feel the lovely breeze during my meal. I chose the vegetarian lasagna, capri salad, and a glass of red from Ensenada. If you can't tell by the vivid colors in the pictures, the ingredients were fresh and in season as each bite was a delight. The salad and the lasanga were the perfect tart and sweet combo. The wine was served chilled and I let it come up to room temperature and aerate so I could truly taste the wine. It paired well with the lasanga and it was tasty enough to warrant another glass. Shout-out to Nicole who was my server throughout the meal and attentive throughout my time at Neretta. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area. I'd definitely consider going again as what originally drew me to this place was the coffee which I choose not to partake in this particular trip.

Cute little brunch spot! It gets a little packed on the weekends. They have great brekkie options with eggs and brioche. We had the canadiana and santos- both were good, especially with their hot sauce! They also specialize in ice cream. We had strawberry, chocolate and ginger. My favorite is actually the ginger one- it’s so surprisingly good!

Como esperan que los visiten si ni siquiera se puede sentar uno a platicar en paz con tanto ruido? Aprendan a respetar y a pensar como atraer clientes sin molestar.
