Seafood restaurant
Fisherman's Restaurant and Bar is a top dining spot in Ko Pha-Ngan known for its fresh seafood and refined Thai dishes. The restaurant offers a picturesque beachfront setting in Ban Tai, where guests can enjoy candlelit tables right on the beach.
I recently had an amazing seafood experience at this restaurant. Every dish was packed with freshness and bold flavors that truly impressed me. The crispy fried fish with tamarind sauce was perfectly cooked — crunchy on the outside, tender inside, with a sweet and tangy sauce that balanced the dish beautifully. Very great dessert 😍😍😍
Chai A — Google review
A great restaurant with fresh fish and seafood.
This is a very well-organized, cozy restaurant with excellent food. When you enter, the atmosphere is inviting, cozy, and beautifully designed. They also have an amazing garden. We ordered crab, and they asked us to choose the one we liked directly from the water. You can also enjoy burgers or Thai dishes. Reservation is important.
The staff is very friendly and cooperative. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Eskeatnaf M — Google review
The restaurant is very spacious and table are positioned well. There is a great small playground for kids with slide and swing and enough to let them run around. The tartar was incredible and the fish in banana leaf was really juicy. The fish and chips was great and we took another side dish of fries. They had run out of the masama chicken curry but we also took cerviche with mango and whole fish in bbq. Everyone licked their fingers. The cocktails were also delicious. All in all- very high class cooking and not typical Thai style. Good prices. Around 4000 total for 5 hungry people with beer and cocktails. Definitely book in advance and would recommend wearing closed shoes.
Daliah S — Google review
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Koh Phangan! I’ve been here three times already and every visit was just perfect. The food is incredibly fresh — you can really taste that everything comes straight from the sea. The grilled seafood platter and crab curry are outstanding, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want on a tropical island: relaxed, local, and right by the beach. The staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel like a regular from the first moment. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Thai seafood and wants a memorable dining experience by the water.
Itai M — Google review
It’s been over a month since I visited, still can’t get over it, Best seafood place ever!!! We got a huge order honestly that was more than enough because the portions are generous, you can easily tell that it’s all fresh, like really fresh, my taste buds were having a blast. The chef has an amazing taste, anything chefs choice is to go to. Enjoy your food and the setting with the staff is a the complete package.
Muaz G — Google review
We were so lucky to have this restaurant only 7 minutes walking on the beach from our place. This was our twice a week every week during our 2 and half months stay on the island. We eat very clean food at home so eating out which we also love could often leave us with low energy after and all kinds of strange feelings. But not after eating in Fishermans restaurant. What I love about this place is the transparency of the ingredients, fresh fish from the sea and not from the fish factory and kitchen free of MSG! The willingness of the friendly staff to adapt the dish to my wishes and needs. We are their number one fans of the Yellow curry which was our regular weekly dish. Their fresh coconuts are also different to other places on the beach. We will definitely eat here again when we go back next year. Absolutely 5 STAR place and service.
Iva R — Google review
I was really hoping for an excellent meal after reading all the reviews and also getting a few local recommendations, but my luck wasn't with me the evening we visited. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I was craving fish and chips after a solid week of Thai food. They used a thin soft fish and left the skin on, which resulted in a less than pleasant meal. Also avoid both the fish and crab cakes. They both used the same seasoning that included both five spice and tarragon, competing flavor directions that overshadowed the seafood. But I had a great time at this restaurant because the service was friendly and fast and they had some really unusual cocktails that were 10/10.
Martin V — Google review
Amazing fish restaurant. . Every dish was done exuisitly and with a lot of thought. We took white snnapers, one fried with capers and other grilled. Both were fantastic. We also ordered french fries and didn't expect it to be so good.

Restaurant
Mama Pooh's Kitchen is a charming and unassuming restaurant located in Sri Thanu. Despite its humble appearance, it has won the hearts of many with its authentic and delicious food. Run by a warm and caring grandmother, the restaurant may take some time to serve your meal, but the wait is definitely worthwhile. The menu offers a wide variety of Thai dishes, including vegan options, all at very reasonable prices.
What can we say about mama Pooh? We stumbled upon this little spot looking for some authentic Thai food. What we found was a wondrous, and truly authentic experience on what is an island which is becoming a rarity nowadays on this island. Mama came to us and took our order. When our bowl of green curry arrived, we couldn’t believe the deliciousness and homeliness of this food. Mama Pooh really does cook with love. This isn’t your fancy detached food experience, but you’re welcome into her little space for a few moments of your day. It was the most wholesome green curry you ever did eat. We loved the thought and experience from beginning to end. We even got to sit next to her husband, in his workshop watching him fix some gadgets. We went back in time and listened to some old music. We could have been here 80 years ago, and we wish we could time travel back here again again. We’ll be back! X
Katie O — Google review
The cutest restaurant owner you will get to meet on the island. Delicious food, huge portion for a very humble price. The place is totally unique in every way, like if it was stuck in time. Dont expect a fancy place, its actually quite the opposite, and thats exactly why you will love it The lady doesnt speak english but they made up for it using a very convenient order taking system; all you have to do is write your item number on a piece of paper, hand it over to the owner, and let the magic happen! This is a gem on the island, go check it out while you can
Antonin C — Google review
Highly recommended! Don’t let the authentic atmosphere to stop you from eating here. This was one of the best Thai dishes we had in the country and the owner is an old lady that is really happy to cook and please her customers. We are here 3 times, every time she surprised us with something else. Cheap, great value for money!
Shachar A — Google review
I love this place ❤️ From the outside it looks like a workshop, that kind of wants to keep you out, but when you go inside you see the loving smile of mama Pooh, who I saw for the first time 4 years ago. Sometimes, there are hidden gems, people who are actually have a talent for cooking, but wasn't fully discovered. This is one of these cases. Mama Pooh does two things - she pays a lot of respect to classic Thai cuisine, and she adds a secret ingredient to the food - LOVE. I wish myself to spend some more time here, go into her kitchen and learn these two things from her while the place still exists.
Lior A — Google review
My favorite restaurant in koh phangan. One of the best! We literally go every day. Me and my husband love EVERYTHING from mama Pooh🥰🥰 I know the restaurant now looks like disaster… and lots people blame her husband make the place like that. But did you ever think when the covid hit, there’s no customers. Maybe they are just trying to survive? She cooks very slowly now, she is old… but if give enough patience, the food is full of love and magic 😋 Highly recommended!!
Yucca M — Google review
Very hard to spot from the street, but very worth the effort. We ate early so only ones there.Looks more like a repair shop than a restaurant. These are the places we come to Thailand for. Be brave and let mama cook for you!
Peter M — Google review
If you want to help local Thai people from the gentrification happening all over Thailand, you should come here. Best authentic food I have had in Thailand! Mama Pooh and her daughters are so kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Koh Pa Ngan :-)
Elizabeth — Google review
I really enjoyed this place. My friend mentioned it looking raggedy and not everyone coming here because of the appearance. But the food was amazing and the set up even more homey. Mama Pooh has a great system for you to order from her. Check it out !

Brunch restaurant
Bubba's Coffee Baan Tai, established in 2015, has quickly become known as one of the top breakfast spots on Koh Phangan. With its friendly staff and delectable dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients, it has garnered a strong following among visitors. The café opens at 7:00 am daily and offers a diverse Western-inspired menu with an array of breakfast choices. Bubba's is particularly renowned for its exceptional coffee and mouth-watering avocado toast.
Bubba's far exceeded our expectations. With many gluten free options and perfect coffee... we want to go again and again. We had the most outstanding brunch. The coffee was so good, we ordered 2 cappuccinos each. Mine was on soy milk and it was excellent. I also enjoyed the best gluten free bread I've ever eaten... seriously.. it makes me want to live here! Highly recommend for anyone with Coeliac. 👌
Leisa P — Google review
As a regular local visitor, I can confidently say - the best place for breakfast. The best coffee on the island and a huge number of variations for breakfast (and not only). The waiters are always friendly and always happy to see guests! They know English well, which makes communication with the guest easier, which is extremely important, considering the international guests every day! There is also a unique employee - Mr. Red Cat 🐈 He is responsible for the mood in the cafe ❣️

The perfect Ban Tai coffee place. Amazing V60 specialty coffee, batch brew - also try the espresso float with coconut water, amazing! Big shared table where to work and meet people from the neighbourhood. Good music, good vibes. Special thanks to the fantastic team, always welcoming and caring! Such a great place that’s feels like home

We had amazing food at Bubba‘s from healthy chia pudding to savory burgers. Everything was excellent! My personal highlight was the french toast, which was topped with a refreshing lemon curd to cut the sweet and buttery, eggy toast. Also there was a second topping made of mascarpone, visually it speaks for itself, check it out if you crave some western food. And also check their beef burgers, one of the best I ever had!
Kevin G — Google review
The cafe was in a lovely location, very clean and the staff were very friendly. The food was lovely, came quickly, was well served and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

This cafe has such a lovely atmosphere, calm, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful views. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the coffee was excellent. 10/10! I’ll definitely come back here next time I visit Koh Phangan. ☕✨

Eat is a popular vegan restaurant located in Koh Phangan, known for its diverse menu of vegan comfort foods, healthy smoothies, lunch bowls, and delectable desserts. The owner, Kinga, has created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere where visitors can enjoy dishes from around the world such as thali, teriyaki chicken, kebabs, scrambled tofu, pho, and couscous.
This place just feels right. Cozy, welcoming, and packed with delicious vegan food that even non-vegans love. The staff is super friendly. They also have a little shop inside so that you can grab some magic. On Wednesday night, there is a comedy open mic. The place is buzzing, and the vibe is pure fun. It’s the best night out in Srithanu. Honestly, Eat.co isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place to hang out, connect, and feel at home. Highly recommend.

Delicious meals & drinks. Staff super friendly and available. Calm and pleasant place to stay. Updated : We took away the snickers, a bit diseappointed as we couldn’t really taste the home made peanut butter.
Tiffany L — Google review
We visited this place recently. The food overall was not very impressive, but the Golden Lemonade was excellent, super refreshing and delicious. The kebab was also a good dish and worth ordering. However, we tried the falafel and the yuzu tofu, and unfortunately, they weren’t to our taste and had a rather unusual flavor.
Orel S — Google review
The best place to eat in the Island. Food is high quality and good ingredients. All vegan of course, good meals for breakfast / lunch / dinner or for just a snack. I went there everyday during my vacation. The staff is amazing and the vibe in the restaurant is absolutely amazing.

This café quickly became my favorite spot after coming out of a detox. It offers a wide variety of vegetarian dishes that are beautifully presented and taste just like traditional meals. The café itself feels very cozy, conveniently located, with excellent service and even a small shop inside. It’s a perfect place to work on a laptop, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy some time alone. But the highlight for me was definitely the food and drinks—after my detox, they tasted incredibly fresh, nourishing, and delicious.

Hands down the best clean food ive ever had in my life. I came to visit Koh Phangan and loved it so much I ate here every single day for 4 days straight. If I had more time here, I would try everything on their menu. Absolutely incredible.

Wow - quite possibly the best vegan food I have ever tasted. I'm not even vegan, but would become one if I could have their food for the rest of my life! Had the kimchi fried rice, and it was SO DELICIOUS. Their matcha latte with coconut milk and syrup was also yummy. Vibes are earthy and nice, and they have a lot of spiritual/yoga/hippie trinkets for sale. Highly recommend.

Karma Kafe is a charming coffee shop located in Surat Thani, offering delicious vegan and keto-friendly lunch options. The cafe provides a cozy atmosphere with beautiful outdoor settings adorned with hanging plants and flowers. It's known for its plant-based menu, including gluten-free options, and offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The cafe also serves tasty coffee with plant-based milk choices like pistachio milk.
Good place to eat breakfast. Staff speak good English and are nice, bathroom is clean and atmosphere good. Had gluten free pancakes and a vegan burrito and enjoyed. Would recommend to order normal coffee beachside because the charcoal coffee and caramel coffee taste bland.
יהונתן ש — Google review
I have been a regular customer since 2018. Karma Kafe is my favorite cafe on the whole island. The staff is wonderful and the food is healthy and delicious. Huge plus for offering all *gluten-free and vegan menu. Extra points for the complimentary water offered as soon as you sit down.🧡 Edit: *Caution needed with some items that normally contain wheat and other gluten grains, such as soy sauce. The kitchen uses 2 types - one with wheat and one that is gluten free. Mix ups do happen. It would be safer and better if there was only gluten-free soy sauce in use. Gluten is not needed in it. My favorite dishes are breakfast burrito, pancakes, sushi, Slightly Spicy Burger, and Kalefornia bowl. Fresh black coffee is an every morning staple for me, often followed by iced matcha.💚 Try the butterfly pea lemonade too! The only critique I have is about the fish that is kept in the 'pool' at the side of the cafe. Please free them or at least arrange much more spacious and pleasant living conditions for them. Fish belong in freedom, their purpose and birth right is to live in the ocean. They shouldn't be kept in a small dark 'aquarium' with nowhere to go except circling around the same place day after day.🙏

Good vibes, relaxing place. Most of the menu is vegan, delicious food! Great coffee, great service. Highly recommend.

Great cafe, very relaxing and calm energy, we ate here twice during our time on the island and had the best time sitting around the low table. Nestled near Baan Thai, Nong View Restaurant is a delightful spot that invites you to take a seat and savor the authentic flavors of Thailand. This charming eatery is perfect for sharing, encouraging diners to sample various dishes from its extensive menu. Signature offerings include the beloved pad Thai, a delectable stir-fry featuring eggs, tofu, and chicken. The restaurant's popularity among locals speaks volumes about its authenticity; it's not just tourists who flock here but also ex-pats and native Thais alike.
Well, this is a really TOP quality Thai restaurant. I know them for like 10 years, always had a really good experience here, even this evening. It’s cook so delicious that we have driven here for like 20 minutes, just because we knew what to expect. I do really recommend this Thai restaurant, one of the best on the Island. Good portions, reasonable prices and delicious taste 🤗

I would not recommend this restaurant. We were here tonight and the service was very poor and the food subpar. My partner was half finished his food before my food came and there was no explanation for it at all, just the usual. The food was very meh. Our papaya salad was atrocious. See pictures for reference. Would not recommend at all.

came here with my partner because our stay was close to this restaurant. food was great, we ordered one friend rice pork because i had to eat rice but unfortunately the fried rice was quite tasteless, maybe not what i expected. the other dishes were good. they have a lot of options. the ambiance is nice, so quiet here. might come back to try other thai foods again 😄😄👌🏻

A great experience. Food was fresh and well cooked, we didn't wait long, the staff was nice, and the restaurant was clean. I will back here soon for sure, and I will suggest this place to my friends.

Authentic thai cruisine. The tomyam the steam seabass with sour and extra spicy is delicious. The fish is fresh and dishes in big portion. Some dishes take extra times to cook especially the fish, but the waitress do inform upfront, good approach as some guest may rush for other destination. The fresh Fruite shake and chill fresh coconut drink really relieve the heats from the hot sunny day. The price for us is reasonable with large portion of the food

Best crab omelette I've had in my life. It's perfectly fried so it's crispy on the outside and soft from inside. It's real crab meat and the quantity is perfect!

Had lunch and dinner here three times, and the food was consistently excellent, especially the fresh fish and seafood. While the service wasn't the best initially with the owner not appearing welcoming on our first visit, her demeanor improved with subsequent visits. We even engaged in several conversations where she shared insights about the island and recommended places to explore. Her husband offered us taxi trips and took us to the south of the island for a very low price. Overall, I recommend this place for its outstanding food and the evolving friendly atmosphere.

The Alcove is a romantic bistro on Hing Kong Bay, one of the most beautiful sunset locations on Ko Pha Ngan. With its beautifully planned interior and stunning views of the sunset, this spot is perfect for a romantic dinner or night out. The restaurant also offers wine and beer as well as a full bar, making it the perfect place to enjoy some delicious French and Thai fusion cuisine. Enjoy your evening while watching the sun set in all its glory!
We had an incredible dining experience at L’Alcove. They welcomed us warmly and accommodated us with no problem at a beautiful beachfront table. The setting was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the prawns on lemongrass sticks and the whole fish catch of the day with chili and mango salad, which was to die for. If you are looking for a fresh, high quality and very tasty meal, this is your go to. The atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner as well. Highly recommended. Thank you to the team for a truly memorable evening.

I had an amazing stay at Alcove Bungalow Koh Phangan – it truly felt like home from the very first moment. The place is spotlessly clean and beautifully kept, with a gentle, welcoming vibe. The restaurant has a relaxed beach atmosphere and a lovely energy that makes every meal feel special. What really made the experience unforgettable was Arissara. She is simply wonderful – caring, kind, and attentive in a way that felt like a close friend looking after me. She anticipated everything I might need and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and happy, with a warmth that touched me deeply. The whole team was friendly and thoughtful, creating an environment where I could fully relax and enjoy every moment. I have no doubt that I will come back again, and I wholeheartedly recommend Alcove Bungalow to anyone seeking a stay filled with comfort, beauty, and genuine human warmth.

Best meal we have had during our entire trip! We wanted to go because we drove past several times and every time Alcove was busy and inviting looking - the vibe is immaculate. We had a table right on the sand with a very comfortable low seat - actually had great back support like a couch. Appetiser sizes were incredibly generous - we had the home made spring rolls and the mango salad - both amazing. Staff were trained to a high standard and the owner was working the floor ensuring smooth operation and looking after the guests. There was dancer performing along with organic live music. This restaurant is quality, the food, the service, the establishment itself and the ambience and location all extremely high quality. Thank you Alcove

Good charcuterie and the salted caramel tiramisu was nice! However every* main dish appears to be a plate which is 2/3rds bread and potatoes. Wonderful service and location. Food was insufficient in my opinion. Peasant macros!

Did not stay at the hotel but had a meal, where the service and ambiance was excellent. Very attentive and friendly staff, as well as good performances from the singers and fire spinners. The view of the sea and beach in the background is lovely. The only let down for me was the food. The fillet steak and sautéed potatoes arrived lukewarm and the steak which I asked to be medium rare arrived almost blue. The ingredients seemed of high quality but it was a shame that it arrived kind of cold and not how I asked for it to be cooked. I’d still reccomend visiting however as everything else was great!

The best place I have stayed in all of Thailand. Melanie & Karine have created something really very special here. Everything about L’Alcove is stylish, beautiful and incredibly comfortable. The staff clearly enjoy working here which is a credit to the owners. Last night there was a storm and 2 power cuts, the staff very efficiently moved things around, kept everyone dry, fed and happy, it was a precision performance and a delight to watch. The food is incredibly good, service absolutely excellent and prices are fare. They have the most comfortable beds! 6 stars! 🌟

Perhaps the best chilled out restaurant in Koh Phangan. The food is excellent the wonderful owner who also happens to be a chef himself. Service very warm and hospitable. Last but not the least the restaurant has an amazing sunset view. A must visit place

Such a cute set-up, right on the beach and has Jenga and a pool table. Staff were so nice- they organised us a taxi home that night and all! Food was amazing- I’m a picky eater and my spaghetti was fab and my friend who is more adventurous really enjoyed her red curry. Dessert was to die for! Had people there from all ages. Really nice vibe

The most coziest place in Koh Phangan. Everytime I go to this island - it’s the first place I stop by. Delicious food, cold drinks, always good music and the most important is the owner Nico. Super hospitality and welcoming person! Highly recommended!👌🏽

We inhaled the food so quickly that we forgot about taking the picture. Roast lamb was the best I had since leaving Belgium, kids roast chicken was delicious as well. Wine list is great and reasonable priced. Eugenie is a super friendly hostess and Nico an amazing chef. They only took over this place couple of months ago. There is a little playground, they have colouring books for the kids and games. Great beach lounge seats and perfect view of the sea. Highly recommended and will come back for more lamb.

Pura Vida Cafe is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Haad Yao, offering a diverse menu and a laid-back atmosphere. The cafe serves freshly prepared meals and locally sourced Thai coffee, making it an ideal spot for brunch. With its impressive pancakes, fresh fruit and yogurt bowls, and creatively presented bread dishes, Pura Vida has become known as one of the best breakfast spots on the island.
Great place for breakfast in Haad Yao. We came back almost every day. The food is fresh and incredibly quick. The staff is lovely aswell. I recommend trying their juices, they are amazing. It's no surprise to me they are always busy. The menu is kid friendly so you'll see a lot of families here. If you're in Haad Yao area, you should visit for breakfast or lunch.

Best breakfast (mango chia pudding & 2 eggs with bread) I had in Thailand! The location is very nice and the food looks great. The price is also ok (180-250 each). Only negative aspect in service: my friend ordered an avocado bagel and we had to ask 3x times until we got it (unfortunately 1h later).

Lovely venue near beautiful beach. Best coffee! The electrolyte drink is a must have as are all their amazing brunch options. You can’t go wrong with their açai bowls!

very cute restaurant! Clean and well-kept, with super friendly and attentive staff. The food isn’t the very best you’ll ever have, but it’s definitely really good and enjoyable! They have a wide variety of drinks, food, and desserts. Highly recommend trying the croissant (we had the plain one, but I’m sure the chocolate is great too) and the Basque cake – both were delicious!

Pura Vida Café in Koh Phangan is a gem! Their açaí bowls, with amazing fruits, and the legendary tuna sandwich are perfectly crafted and full of flavor. The homemade bread and pastel de nata are divine, The coffee is top-notch, ideal for a morning pick-me-up, and their smoothies are refreshing in the tropical heat. The atmosphere is laid-back, with warm, welcoming staff who make you feel like family. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous, offering great value. The café’s vibrant cozy vibe makes it a go-to for breakfast or lunch. My only regret? Not grabbing an extra pastel de nata to go! Whether you’re a local or a traveler, Pura Vida is a must-visit for delicious food and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommend.

Ok, today I have learned something. After 3 days of getting my morning espresso here at what I thought was great cost @ 80baht, I decided to browse the menu today and discovered the vegan tofu scramble with mushrooms amd vege's for 200baht...Coffee included!!!! So how could I resist, the first mouthful seemed as bland as the colour of my aneamic tofu. However! Depair not, a few chews in and the flavours popped out🤗🤗 served with two lightly toasted sourdough (bread on this island seems great everywjere), a beautiful light crunch to it, served with a passionfruit jam and a vege patè, yummy😊 Including coffee this is great value for a western style joint. Comfy sofa"s great for watching world go by😊 Not a vegan place but cater's well for vegan breakfast. Easy to find across from 711 Haad Yao. Definately worth a visit😊

Nestled away from the bustling main road, Petty's Place offers a charming and cozy dining experience that feels more like visiting a friend's home than just another restaurant. While its exterior may be unassuming, the menu is anything but simple; each dish is crafted with care using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes.
Great little restaurant, delicious and fresh food. The fried vegetables and the massaman curry is to recommend. The staff is very friendly. We'll come back
Iwailo L — Google review
Food is amazing. Petty is so friendly. Staff wise didn't understand English. Worth to go for good food.
Carmen — Google review
Not only is Petty’s Thai food amazing, but her European food is great as well! The seafood tomato & cheese pasta was delicious! She and her husband are very welcoming and humble, we enjoyed a chat and our dinner there without a doubt. It does take some time to get your food but in my opinion this is crucial if you want your food fresh, so no complaints here!!
A B — Google review
The food we ate at Petty's was some of the best we ate during the entire trip. There is an extensive menu of home cooked food by the owner. She makes all food fresh and from scratch so this does take a little longer than at other Restaurant but you are guaranteed that it is fresh and well worth the wait. We had some issues with our scooter and the owner was kind enough to assist us with that. They are interested in the people visiting their Restaurant so you can expect a family atmosphere and great food.
Richard H — Google review
Fantastic tiny little place off the main road. Really friendly and relaxed. The Massaman curry was AMAZING! Also had the pork steak with fried potatoes, really really great! The owners were so friendly and we're happy to chat whilst they worked. Excellent.
Jay W — Google review
As others have said, the massaman curry is certainly the best I've ever had. It is rich and complex, and she will adjust the spice level according to your taste. Everything else I tried was excellent as well. Prices here are just slightly higher (20-50 thb more per dish) than most others on the island and that initially threw me off, but given the portion size and quality I realized it is actually a better value. I will be back many times!
Nick P — Google review
Best massaman curry I've ever had. Hands down. Husband and wife run it, the lady is Thai and is the chef 👌. She is killer. You have to make a reservation to go here. They only serve or can seat around 20 at a time. Best place to eat on the island. Go.
Christian W — Google review
After reading the reviews I did expect good food. Had a Massaman curry for 200 bath. Was far too sweet. Tasted like a desert. No veggies inside. Just potatoes and some pieces of meat. (I ordered chicken)

- The pizza is good Any other food is average, a bit tasteless. I don’t know, maybe we got unlucky, but restaurant struggled with processing orders. We were receiving dishes one by one. Basically, if you are a group of friends might be difficult to eat all at the same time. Atmosphere is great and live music is a big highlight.

The best Italian restaurant on the Island! Beautiful location and great vibes. We had a delicious dinner, we ordered their: margaritas , caprese salad, tuna pizza, carbonara and tiramisu. Every dish was 10/10. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again. Just a heads-up – if you don’t eat pork, make sure to let the waiters know to avoid any awkwardness or being charged for a dish you won’t eat. We accidentally ordered a Carbonara with Italian Pancetta (which is pork) and had to get the same dish without it – it turned out amazing! And to be fair, they only charged us half for the first one, which was really nice of them. שימו לב – אם אתם לא אוכלים חזיר חשוב לציין זאת למלצרים. מסעדה ממש מומלצת 🫶🏼

Absolutely the best Italian restaurant in Koh Phangan! We were so happy to find Romanzo Tropicale, hands down the best Italian food on the island. I had the Pizza and it was sooo good. The atmosphere is super chill and cozy, you can really feel the good vibes as soon as you walk in. Marco the owner and the whole team are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Good vibing music as well! We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend!
Francesco — Google review
Beautiful venue and friendly staff, but the food was a big letdown. The location is stunning and the staff were kind and welcoming. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. I had to send back the steak, which I specifically asked to be rare, but it arrived completely well done... The fried squid dish was disappointing, it was mostly salad garnish with just few (really) small calamari rings and 4 prawns… The ravioli were undercooked and the sauce lacked any real flavor. All this came to around $30 for just one ravioli dish, one small appetizer, one bottle of water, and a focaccia (which, to be fair, was quite good). To their credit, they didn’t charge me for the steak, which I appreciated. If you’re looking for a place to have a beer and enjoy the atmosphere, this could work. But for food? Sadly, I can’t recommend it. It's a real shame given the potential.
Yoska M — Google review
This place has such a cozy vibe! The pizza is super tasty — the dough is soft and flavorful. Honestly, it’s the best pizza I’ve had on Koh Phangan! The tiramisu is very, very good! And a special mention to Bo, the beautiful and friendly staff who took great care of us. Loved everything here! 🍕💖

Domenico P — Google review
Good service, nice ambiente. Unfortunately both of us choosing one tapa which we considered to be an almost full meal according to the price (prawns 480, camembert 310 Baht) left us with an empty stomach - despite additionally sharing a starter. Even though this might be usual in Thailand one of our orders came ~ 10-15min after the other one. From our perspective in an european standard restaurant like this one an appropiate timing can be expected as well as being able to pay with credit card which wasn't the case. Moreover the food was fine but not as extraordinary & fantastic that it would justify paying the given price.

With its pool table and cool country music, this Texas-style saloon provides a fantastic atmosphere for unwinding with friends. Visitors can also enjoy the Sunday Roast Dinner at Outlaws for a satisfying meal.
Good restaurant, very good taste of food, variety and good taste every time I come to eat. The staff speaks politely, but the atmosphere is bad because other tables of customers smoke marijuana in the shop even though there is a sign saying no smoking marijuana, which the smell is not liked by everyone and of course I don't want to smell marijuana. The staff should tell me immediately when they see customers smoking, but the staff doesn't seem to have the courage to tell them But everything else is good.
Bew N — Google review
It has been our second visit to Outlaws Saloon today, after our first visit in 2023. This time we brought friends, who were as happy as we are with the food. We have had steaks and burgers, Greek salad and nachos and every dish was terrific! The steaks were cooked to the point, tender and soft meat, the side orders perfectly seasoned and the drinks cold. Outlaws Saloon offers a great variety of food and drinks and a very high quality over the years. Looking forward to our next visit - hopefully sooner than in two years.
Silvio W — Google review
I left feeling disappointed. I was expecting more because the good reviews I heard. The Ribeye steak was chewy and not tender at all. It felt like a low quantity cut. The Salmon steak was decent but they could bring a better cut and the sesame marinade was over powering the dish. The french fries were kinda dry. The mesh potatoes, the sauces and the drinks were good though.
Orad B — Google review
The food is really great but the waiters are not friendly . Half of the tables was free but still the waiter didn’t let to take a table I like (although 7 more tables were free). At some tables they have nasty toilet smell and the staff is just not nice at all . Pitty I think better not to come here because of service

Edit Aug 2025: Sad that I need to update my review. This place is kind of to go place for me every time I come to kpg. However, as a huge fan of Guinness, I'm really disappointed with the Guinness here. I noticed it last time I came and ordered that the Guinness tasted weird, too sour, not like usual Guinness that I usually have (and I have more than once a week, last time was last night). I didn't say anything at the first time bc i think maybe it's something wrong with my tongue. But this time I got the same disappointment and decided to tell the manger. He came and said everything is ok, without any reluctant or didn't even go back to check the quality of the Guinness they sell. They said many customers had it and no complain. He said "This is Guinness", like i supposed not to know how Guinness should be tasted. And, yeah, this will be my last time for Guinness here. Although, food and the waitress are good. But the manager's reaction is kinda disappointed me than the spoiled taste of Guinness. _____________ Nice place. Food if good, although i ordered rare but got a little bit too cooked. They give free rose with the bill. That’s cute especially if you come as a couple. (Which i didn’t lol)
Phr T — Google review
We had 3 cuts of meat which 2 of those were bland but the 3rd was really good. With every cut we got french fries which felt dry and a but old. The whole place was really dark so much so that we had to pull out a flash light just to see the whole menu😅 Overall it wasn't a bad experience (and the waitress even gave me rose to gift to my partner!) but i think they can improve some things.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that takes you back to the 90s.
Original Thai style atmosphere. We went for dinner to order the barracuda dish, but the waitress said that they bought 4 kilos and finished it all. I ordered the dish with chicken instead which I'm sure wasn't as good. So maybe try to go earlier than 20:30 if you want the barracuda. The banana salad (contains banana leaves) and the pomelo salad were excellent. Definitely get those. The mango salad was also finished, and we got recommendations for it, so try it out.

Very delicious vegan options. Go straight for the Khao Soi. They make the curry in house and they don’t use any fish / prawn in it. The morning glory is excellent too. Lots of flavour in their foods.

The place itself is beautiful and the food we tried was tasty. But the music is SO LOUD that it’s hard to be there. I asked stuff a few times to make it a bit lower, but in 30 minutes later they rise it up again 🥴. So if you want to eat and work there, you can’t do it outside and you kinda forced to use their quiet room. And after you come in they just add 300 baht to the bill, without warning and it’s not written on the door of the room or at any other visible place. So it really looks like it’s a kind of a strategy to drive ppl crazy with music and then charge 😅🙄. I really don’t have problems with paying, but not when it’s like this. I loved the location, but I don’t think I’m coming back.

I am only speaking for the Thai green curry here, as the starter we had was pretty good.. but I found the Thai green curry to be completely overpowered with Thai basil. I was asked if I liked it spicy, to which I said "yes please!", and yet it was milder than a cream of chicken soup. No signs of green chillies, or lemongrass. The coconut milk was likely coconut water, as it didn't have any creamy texture, was just watery. Just tasted like a Thai basil / aniseed water drink. The eggplant seemed undercooked too, still crunchy. Overall, I was really disappointed.

This charming cafe specializes in Russian dishes, offering mouthwatering options like pelmeni—savory dumplings—and homemade cutlets that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. We visited Friends cafe twice lately and really enjoyed the food. We will be back to continue discovering Russian food. *** special mention for the instagram posts 😄***

The owner Anton was so friendly and accommodating. The pancakes with fish roe were excellent. The herring salad, pelmeni and plov were tasty too. Great boozy fruity shots! Overall, a great place if you love Russian food and miss it. Affordable prices as well.

Very delicious European food. Real home food, tastes just like at home. A friendly and polite owner who is also taking care of his guests. When you get tired of Thai food, this is definitely a perfect place to go.

It is very hard to find decent Russian cuisine. That place is best I know. I very recommend cream soup with salmon.
NCrashed — Google review
I don't usually write negative reviews, but unfortunately the dinner in this restaurant has really disappointed my expectations. The restaurant had been recommended in a blog and the reviews were high too so I decided to give it a try. However, having had dinner here I don't understand the reason for such high reviews. The food was nothing special, at least what we ordered, namely: dumplings, potatoes with mushrooms, soup and Russian salad. I also considered the price quite high (830 bath for two) compared to the price of many other Thai restaurants (in which I've had much better experiences as far as food is concerned). Positive point the service was very fast.

Absolutely delicious food in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. Everything we tried was fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed the borscht. We also forgot a water bottle and the owner followed us up the road to return it! Amazing service and a great place to have something very different to the usual fare on offer.

If you're on the hunt for an affordable yet delightful Thai dining experience, Auntie's Restaurant is your go-to spot. This charming eatery boasts a cozy and inviting atmosphere, where the friendly owner greets you with her signature warm smile. The menu features some of the island's most authentic local dishes, including a rich and spicy Thai green curry as well as a creamy massaman curry for those who prefer milder flavors.
Came here every night for two weeks. We love auntie and her food so much! Very good panang curry and satay. She cooks everything by herself so please be patient and kind 💖
Nicole N — Google review
Not sure why such high rating. I liked their pad thai, slightly charred noods with great flavors but the Tom Yum didn’t taste like much at all and was overwhelmingly sour; there are much better ones in the area. The green curry had great flavor and the potato was super creamy and delicious but the pork was so rough it was pretty much inedible — you really shouldn’t serve something like that. Prices are very cheap of course so perhaps that’s part of the appeal.
Juriy — Google review
The Auntie's Restaurant is a truly authentic Thai place, and maybe the best one where to eat Thai food in Koh Phangan. It is run entirely by Auntie alone, with the company of her little dog Simba. We ate here on the last night of our trip to Thailand and after trying several Pad Thai dishes we think the one we had here was the best. I also loved the chicken satay dish accompanied by a delicious peanuts sauce. The restaurant is very basic and spartan, but I think this characteristic makes it even more authentic.

I tried american breakfast and garlic bread. All of them are delicious. There is little cute dog inside. And auntie makes very good foods. Local thai place.

This was my favourite place to eat the 3 nights I spent in Koh Phangan. Came here everyday. Auntie is very friendly and nice. Food feels like you’re at home very comforting and tasty. Attached photo is the curry and potatoes. The Panang curry was very nice as well.

Auntie is wonderful and sweet!!! Her food is made with love. So good I went every other night. I would always go back and highly recommend to others. Location - On this small side street with bars and other restaurants. Decor - not amazing, simple. Artwork is cool. Basil chicken, Pad Thai, omelette - both very tasty, perfect spice, great portions, great prices

Valentino Restaurant & Wine Bar is a charming upscale dining spot located in the serene Thong Nai Pan Noi neighborhood, offering a delightful escape from the bustling party scene of the South. The menu reflects Italian influences and a passion for global flavors, complemented by an extensive selection of imported wines. Couples seeking a romantic evening can enjoy impeccable service and delectable cuisine either upstairs away from street noise or on the inviting leafy terrace.
Valentino Restaurant offers a refined dining experience on Koh Phangan, perfect for those looking for quality Italian cuisine, good wines, and a more upscale atmosphere with less noise and action than the rest of the street. We started with two appetizers, both well-prepared and nicely presented. The pastas were rich and flavorful, showcasing authentic Italian techniques and fresh ingredients. To finish, the tiramisu was a classic, well-balanced dessert—light yet indulgent. This is a great spot if you’re in the mood for something beyond the typical island fare. They have a strong focus on beef and steak dishes, and the wine selection is better than most other places. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, making it a solid choice for a special evening out on Koh Phangan.

We came across this place as we were staying at a hotel nearby. The reviews looked good so we wanted to try it, and the welcoming staff was really friendly. We ordered tuna tartare, a steak, bolognese pasta, and they were all great. The steak was really well cooked, as well as the pasta, it was al dente and flavourful. We ordered another dish which was the risotto with zucchini, but it tasted just okay, but the risotto was well cooked. Overall would come back the next time we visit! The service was good, the lady who served us was friendly and sweet.

Nestled on the vibrant island, Sirtaki Taverna stands out as a beloved dining spot that captures the essence of Greece. This charming eatery specializes in authentic Greek cuisine, offering an array of delectable options from hearty meat dishes to fresh seafood. The menu features classic favorites like moussaka, souvlaki, and tzatziki, alongside Mediterranean-style fries that add a delightful twist.
Step into a beautiful Greek setting! Nadia is the host with the most, always welcoming and attentive to all guests! The food is in its own league. The famous grilled Octopus is a must if you are dining here. Everything cooked fresh and sourced locally! Cute courtyard setting, perfect for dates, friends get together dinner. All meat is cooked to perfection, with flavour in every bite. Reasonably priced for western food! One of my fave places to eat on the island since living here!

Seed to Feed is a distinctive restaurant in Koh Phangan that stands out for its self-sufficient approach to food. Located in the Middle Road area, it offers a convenient location near Thong Sala and Sri Thanu. The smoothies served here are excellent, albeit slightly expensive at around 150 baht. Moreover, their Thai cuisine and sandwiches are delicious. However, what truly sets this place apart is its exceptional salads, which are widely regarded as the best on the entire island.
One of the most interesting menus in Koh Phangan, if you're into salad bar combinations with various proteins. Some of the most attentive personnel I've experienced. Super laid-back space to laptop work, have brunch, meet friends, have an appointment. They grow all greens and microgreens in the garden next to the cafe/resto so it's very green, organic and healthy
Marlia P — Google review
That was a great experience. Definitely upmarket prices. But you'll get the most amazing friendly and attentive service for it. And the super salad with grilled tofu was a stunner. The pumpkin soup looked quite boring compared to the colorful salad. But my friend said it tasted really good. I thought the soup portion could have been bigger... We were happy with the food. You even get fresh water in a bottle without asking. They just see your bottle is empty and bring a new one. Beautiful atmosphere to sit and chat. We had a lovely evening. (But I still think 355 b is too expensive for a salad.... )

Wohoooo finally I found a place which serves organic food which makes me quite happy. Unfortunately it’s like every where where you get organic food, the meat is not. I hope so that soon there will be a whole some time offer. I have had the omelette with Bacon and Brie which was fantastic and may my best omelette which I have ever had. You get a water for free which I really appreciate. The staff is super nice and helpful, I would say they really know how to make a client feel well. It’s also a nice place to enjoy and they have an organic shop which I will also do a review. Thank you and definitely come back

Delicious price but a bit overpriced. We understand that it’s all natural food but we are use to come every year and now they are charging extra for everything. We asked for a slice of lemon and they charged us extra … a bit disappointed. We were proud to bring our friends and customers there … Also I’m use to order some extra seeds but now they told me to go buy it next door … don’t call it “seeds” if you can’t provide some to customers. On Koh Phangan, there is a very famous vegetarian café that has been open for many years. The overall ambiance resembles a tall treehouse, built with wood and plants, and the environment is kept incredibly clean, reflecting the owner’s heartfelt dedication to their guests. As a vegetarian restaurant, the vegetarian dishes, fruits, and drinks here are highly recommendable, along with a variety of teas!!! They taste so comforting. The counter shop is like a healing magic store, offering many attractive items such as handmade essential oils, handmade soaps, a large crystal inside an insulated tumbler, crystal necklaces, Peruvian palo santo, and white sage… The location is excellent, surrounded by many renowned healing centers. If you’ve booked a course, it’s perfect to come here for a vegetarian lunch and a cup of tea. Walking uphill for 5 minutes, you can reach a cliff with a stunning sea view. 🥰

This place is so great. We were here several times. They were so wonderful to my daughter. They gave her treats, they treated her the like she was just welcomed and enjoyed having her and made her feel so special. They are kittens that a local cat had in the restaurant and every once in a while they poke their little heads out from underneath one of the seats which is just adorable The croissants were probably the best I've had in ever. And the chai tea was really superb I had it everyday I went. I thought the croissant and egg and cheese sandwich what delicious. Every single person in that place was so joyous and wonderful. They feed the local cats, anyone that's kind to animals is a-okay with me

Really cute place BUT insanely annoying music playing in a loop! This must be changed. They offer lunch for 100 baht which is a good price but it didn't feel so good quality, I wouldn't get it again. We ate here once since we were craving Italian. Beautifully decorated and the vibe and ambience was great. I believe they have other locations on the island? Prices are a little bit higher than most places. The food was fair. Think it’s more suited for adults looking for a wine and dine experience . We don’t drink alcohol and have small children so we might have a different take on things.

After a good massage, we looked for a good Italian restaurant and went into the restaurant. I ordered grilled octopus on a bed of mashed potatoes and squid on a bed of hummus and baked oysters, as well as pasta with ricotta and salads. Great food, fresh ingredients, and solid flavours. I had the creamy coconut soup with brown rice, rich, balanced, and filling without feeling heavy. The presentation is thoughtful, not overdone. The green juice and dragon fruit smoothie were both fresh and not overly sweet. Calm setting, friendly service, and consistent quality. One of the better plant-based spots on the island. Worth it.

Pure Vegan is by far one of the best places on the island for breakfast and lunch! The atmosphere is wonderful, surrounded by nature. Portions are nice and colorful, you will keep wanting to come for more.. very creative dishes, and service is quick!

Pum Pui, a popular Thai restaurant in Sri Thanu, is highly recommended for authentic and delectable Thai cuisine. Known for its genuine flavors and quality ingredients, this restaurant guarantees a delightful dining experience. The chef, who is known for his warm and humorous nature, welcomes guests with a friendly smile while asking them what they would like to order. The kitchen is open, allowing customers to witness the cooking process firsthand.
Great place for top notch Thai food! Staff are super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is unique with wine bottles available and jazz music playing in the background :) Albeit I had to wait in queue for a about 10 min for a table, but it was definitely worth the wait, highly recommended ☝🏼🙏🏼

Best restaurant on the island. A lot of vegan options just ask for no egg/fish sauce/ oyster sauce. PRO tip- order the watermelon shake.
T D — Google review
Such a big culinary discovery on this island! Pum Pui is the best choice if you want to treat your stomach to top-quality - Thai cuisine made from fresh ingredients. Basically, anything you order—you won’t regret it. As a vegetarian, I tried the Massaman curry, Pad Thai, papaya salad, and Pad See Ew. I loved their plating—fresh, shiny vegetables, colorful spices, and a beautiful aroma. The portions are very generous, and the prices are incredible. As a chef, I want to thank you for this culinary miracle, the professional service and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely come back (like every night :D)! I only wish we had a Pum Pui back home in Czechia…✨

Best fried fish I have ever had!! Amazing tastes, texture and display. Also love the papaya salad and the fresh delicious spring rolls. We have been coming to the restaurant for aover two years and always enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for speciala Thai food.

A little bit overrated but still delicious. Pad Thai I would not recommend. It was too sour in my opinion. The satay chicken was very juicy

Recommended restaurant in Koh Phangan, Pom Pui, very rich menu and good atmosphere. Pay attention to the opening hours, they close in the middle of the day.

Absolutely Amazing Thai Food! This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Thailand! Everything was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome — you can really tell they care about their guests. The atmosphere was relaxed and authentic, and the prices were very fair for the quality. If you’re in Koh Phangan, do yourself a favor and eat here — it’s a true hidden gem!

Namaskar Indian Restaurant, situated in Baan Tai, is a delightful Indian-Nepali eatery known for its delectable naan and traditional Nepali cuisine. The friendly owner readily accommodates vegan requests for their vegetarian dishes. Using a traditional tandoori oven, they craft enormous and freshly made naan bread that captivates diners as it's prepared right before their eyes. The menu also features authentic Nepali fare such as momos and dal bhat.
Delicious food!!! We had the chicken ticka massala, pork samusa, garlic naan (no photo) and palak paneer (spinach + cottage cheese + fresh cream). We enjoyed everything so much. We also had one mango lassy and one coke zero and everything was 765bats. I absolutely recommend coming here if you enjoy indian food. The staff was very nice and good environment.
Virginia G — Google review
Very fresh authentic Indian food! We ordered the duck curry however the duck was very chewy which put us off the dish unfortunately. The naan bread was big but completely burnt on the bottom, so it left us with a charcoal after taste. Also the whole restaurant was full of smoke so I’m not sure if they had an issue with the oven that evening. Palak paneer was beautiful, highly recommend! The service is friendly, and relaxed ambience. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Indian food on the island, but it’s up there with very reasonable costs.
Lucio F — Google review
Incredibly good food! The naan is the best I’ve ever had — fresh, flavorful, and you can even watch it being made right in the restaurant, which adds to the experience. The portions are huge, and the staff is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great taste and generous servings!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic taste and warm Nepali hospitality! 🇳🇵 Loved the momos, dal bhat, and butter naan — truly the best Indian & Nepali food in Koh Phangan. 🌴✨

The best Nepal food I ever had! The naan bread WOW, you can actually see how they prepared it in the oven is kinda cool to see the process. They have different kind of rice options and a bigggg variety of vegetarian dishes! Prices are okay and worth it! ☺️
Ali G — Google review
Very attentive staff, the food was soooo amazing! The potato curry was divine!! A great evening had!
Amy — Google review
Random explore yielded particularly agreeable results. Butter paneer masala & garlic naan. Fresh, light and aromatic on both counts. Masterful use of spice blends ensured layered depths of flavour that kept on giving. Naan prepared before you and arrives fresh from the tandoor, delicious and gigantic - 3 could easily share one. Only single minus was that I asked for it spicy and it was nowhere remotely approaching spicy. That aside, an easy recommend.
John O — Google review
The food here was absolutely incredible. You could see the tandoori and the naans made fresh in front of you. The staff were very kind and although there was a bit of a wait this was understandable as it was busy but definitely worth it. We had the mutton tandoori, tikka masala, cheese naan, masala poppadums and chicken pokaudas and couldn’t fault any of it. Such an enjoyable meal ! Would highly recommend.

This is one of the best coffees on the Island. I had a flat white with oat milk and a cappuccino with soy milk. The cappuccino with soy milk has a great taste, it was perfect. Staff is very friendly and attentive, thank you for the great service, I really enjoyed my time. The cafe is also very comfy. Update: the carrot cake is also very delicious

Really good coffee shop in Koh phangan. I came here every day for 2 weeks since I’m working remotely - the internet is great, easy to charge your Mac and they are work friendly as long as you buy food and things. The coffee is a 10/10, I had a double shot ice latte. The tuna sandwich is great and the omelettes are also great - and it’s all affordable. Highly recommended both for work or just to hang out - the music is also relaxing and the stuff are super friendly (:

If you're on the hunt for a delightful vegetarian experience, look no further than Friendship Concept - Meatless Grill. This charming eatery specializes in mouth-watering meatless burgers that can easily be made vegan, catering to every palate with an impressive variety of options. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, often enhanced by live music during the evenings, making it a perfect spot to unwind. During my visit, I indulged in two different burgers—the Texas and the Beast—and both were absolutely delicious!
Delicious restaurant with a great atmosphere! The whole restaurant is super cozy, you sit on comfortable cushions - both inside and out. They also have open mic nights from Monday to Thursday. The menu has been expanded to include meat dishes, so there's something for everyone. We tried the vegetarian burgers and loved them! The prices are also very good for western food. The staff is super nice and very attentive. We would definitely come back!
Melina W — Google review
I visited this place over a year ago and was eager to return, because I had the best ever vegan burger in Thailand here. However, I was totally disappointed with my recent experience! Despite their website still advertising themselves as “meatless” and a sign in front of the restaurant saying the same, they now serve real meat on their menu. I stayed only because the staff assured me that they were preparing food separately and nothing else was open at the time. Last year, I really enjoyed their Friendship Concept Meat, which, in my opinion, was significantly better than Beyond Meat. However, this time, the food I received was tasteless and bland, like cardboard. They didn’t have vegan buns in stock either, so I only had two patties with some garnish. I tried to finish it, because I was hungry, but I just couldn’t. We also ordered a vegan poke bowl, which consisted solely of plain fruit and vegetables, fried tofu and some rice, without any sauce, oil, or even lime juice for flavor. Honestly, I find it hard to believe that a restaurant can ruin itself so badly. I’ve read other reviews here and noticed that many people share the same opinion. What a letdown!
L. C — Google review
Overall nice. Service was good, the price is manageable and understood because it's all vegan meat. The cocktails we're very good! The gluten free "bun" is a normal bread slightly toasted, which was disappointing to say the least. I don't mind the bread as long as it's clear to the customer.
יהונתן ש — Google review
Burgers are fantastic and very filling! We tried the Texas and the Beast and both tasted amazing, although the Beast was our favourite. Staff is also super friendly and helpful; the ambience is super cozy and the place is very well designed. A bit unfortunate that you have to pay extra to make the burgers vegan but it’s only 20 baht and honestly worth it. They also have open mic on Thursdays, I would definitely recommend checking them out if you fancy a nice veg burger. Will be back :)
Agustina A — Google review
If you're in a burger mood then I definitely recommend going here! Good selection of their own burgers plus beyond meat which are cooked on a meatless grill! Served with a choice of salad or fries. Really cool interior with efficient and friendly staff! They even have a vegan tiramasu if you're looking for something sweet after your main, although it wasn't quite up to the standard of the burgers! Outdoor seating and reasonable prices. Will definitely go back again!
Darren H — Google review
This place carries the soul of the burgers. A delight for all the vegetarians and vegans! All the options on the menu leave you stranded with a difficult choice to make, yet, are rewarding once the food arrives at your table. Amazing staff, including Shaun and Jason, who make you feel welcome. We'll be returning soon. A big thumbs up!

Cool place, very beautiful environment with very cosy seating area. On the expensive side but well worth it. I had the vegan chicken burger with bacon and vegan cheese balls. The cheese balls could be cheesier and more savoury, and the filling tasted quite sweet. Overall, it was a great place to have a vegan burger!

I used to come here often; it’s a great viewing platform. Recently renovated, the desserts are delicious, and the service staff are very sweet. Highly recommended! 👌😊
Yang Z — Google review
The view is astonishing and you should definitely check it out at least once. Everything else is just meh. Food is average, prices are not as high as you might expect. I visited this place twice and at first they forgot about my order so I had to remind them after 20+ minutes. Next time I got my order fast, but I asked to make it spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. The pool is old, tired and dirty and they charge 50 baht for it but I wouldn't go there even for free. I would totally recommend going to this place in the evening to watch the sunset and drink fresh coconut, but that's all you should do there probably. Be careful on the road as it is steep especially at the end.

A must visit if you’re in Koh Phangan! Route - I think it’s a new place and getting up the mountain for us was interesting but one of the most memorable evenings I’ve had here in Koh Phangan! Food - limited options (all vegan) but every dish they serve is a work of art and filled with flavours. My husband and I tried 4 dishes and a desert and every dish was unique! New Delhi Aranchini was the best. Ambience - you can get lost into relaxation by just looking at any corner as it gives you a nice panoramic view of the island towards the west. Best for sunset views.

🍴 Food: Tasty and consistent. Not amazing, but reliably good. ☕️ Coffee: Very nice, and the passion fruit tea was a highlight. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Staff: Friendly, but not allergy-aware. 💶 Price: A little on the higher side. We went to Bubba’s a few times over two weeks and always had a good experience with the food. It felt like a safe, go-to spot with a nice atmosphere inside. The drinks were especially good—great coffee and delicious passion fruit tea. The only downside was an issue with a food allergy. I mentioned it clearly when ordering a smoothie, but when it arrived, I could taste the ingredient I asked to avoid. I checked again, and the staff member said it wasn’t in there—but her colleague standing next to her said it actually was. The first staff member gave her a look as if telling her to stay quiet. They took the smoothie away and I ordered something else, but the situation was uncomfortable and didn’t feel trustworthy. Overall: A nice spot for food and drinks, but be careful if you have allergies or dietary needs.

Our absolute favorite spot for late breakfasts! We first discovered this wonderful place 6 years ago when we visited Koh Phangan for the very first time. Back then, we were already impressed by the incredibly delicious coffee and the high-quality, flavorful food. You may not believe it, but one of the decisive factors for our return to Phangan in 2025 was actually Bubba’s Roastery. During our entire stay on the island, we ate exclusively here, and here’s why: - Food: Absolutely fantastic! You can literally order anything from the menu and be sure about the quality, preparation, and taste. The menu is very diverse, so everyone will find something they love. (They even serve syrniki now — and they taste even better than in their homeland!) - Consistency: The dishes are equally delicious whether you dine in or take away. We tested it twice — even delivery meals (including drinks!) arrive just as tasty and beautifully presented. - Service & hospitality: The staff are professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. You can clearly see that there are service standards in place, maintained over many years. It’s great to feel that the owners truly care. We were lucky enough, on our very last day on Phangan, to meet the big boss while buying some merch. Robin, thank you for your kindness — it was a pleasure meeting you! Cons: - No shirt policy: unfortunately, some tourists leave their manners at home, and it would be nice if the restaurant could gently encourage a basic dress code. - No magnets in the merch line (please make them, we’d definitely buy some!). We wish you continued growth and success, and we’ll happily keep coming back again and again just for you!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there and it was such a fabulous experience. We had a vegetarian menu and it was from far the best vegan menu we had. We are both very fond of good restaurants and in France it is difficult to find good places to have a proper vegan 8 meal course but this place is absolutely amazing. The food was gorgeous, the set up very cute and authentic, the service was perfect AND we loved the little coffee/tea break, around the fire in the garden. I highly recommend this experience that had been made with a lot of passion and love by the couple that owns the place. Thank you for having us we had the best time.

The tasting menu takes you on a journey around the world, from brilliant starters to Mediterranean touches fused beautifully with Thai flavors. Every bite feels like a new discovery — pure chef-level craftsmanship. The whole place radiates a dreamy vibe, and honestly, the food wouldn’t shame any fine-dining restaurant in Paris or London. Simply a must-visit gem in Koh Phangan.

A must!! Ok, so Koh Phangan is a little island and although there is plenty of restaurants, this one is very special. It’s a set menu of 8 dishes, and it can be made vegan. We had such an excellent experience, everything was wonderful. From the signature cocktails to the tea by the pit fire and dessert. An absolute delight! It’s the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or to spoil yourself. Although is one of the most expensive places in the island, it’s well worth the investment. (And tbh it’s not expensive compared to European prices) Not only the food is wonderful but the place is magical and the staff is super attentive and nice. I had the vegan menu and the amount of food is more than enough, we had to take a couple of dishes home. The corn risotto will be in my heart forever. Definitely I’ll come back.

This place was incredible all around. The ambience, views, staff, and of course, the food. It exceeded even the high expectations I had from just peeping at the menu. Not just well presented, but so flavorful, every bit of it. Veggies and salad were well dressed, good amount of sauce, great consistencies, and portions were perfect as well. You can definitely pick up on the dedication, quality, and love put into every bit. Even though the prices arent the most accessible in the area, the quality and abundance in tastyness are worth it. To enjoy this food by these views was such a pleasure, thank you Foods & Roots. No doubt the best place to enjoy whatever meal or drinks you’re looking for, this place will satisfy your craving and appetite. I returned for a third time and ordered another salad and acai, the salad was delicious, the acai as well although would’ve enjoyed it even more if it was colder/icier and not blended with banana since it overpowers other flavors in the smoothie. Will definitely recommend as my favorite in Koh Pha Ngan. Unforgettable experience.

We had lunch today at Foods & Roots – a truly beautiful spot right by the beach. Almost everything is organic, fresh, and clearly prepared with care. The atmosphere is relaxed, the concept is sustainable, and the use of local ingredients is very noticeable in the taste. The drinks and food were excellent overall. I especially enjoyed the mushroom shawarma – full of flavor and really well made. The tempeh wrap was also good, though it could use a bit more seasoning. Now to the downside: We wanted to sit at a large table close to the sea, but the waiter told us we couldn’t, as it needed to stay free in case a large group showed up. The table wasn’t actually reserved, so it was quite disappointing to see that just five minutes later, a single woman sat there and had her meal without any issue. The other nice tables were already busy. Also, one side dish was forgotten, and a drink we ordered never arrived but still appeared on the bill. The two main dishes we ordered didn’t arrive at the same time either – the second one came about 15 minutes later (it was not very busy so we dont understand why)

Fantastic vegan restaurant with delicious food, great ambience, amazing ocean views & excellent service. What else could I ask for? I had the best Pad Thai of my life here. I also recommend their Burmese tea leaf salad and passion fruit cheesecake. 10/10 experience. Will certainly return!

A lovely vegan restaurant that our family likes going to. We usually order green soup noodles, salmon sandwich and buckwheat pancakes. The salmon sandwich is really innovative with papaya slices as well ”salmon”. It is really nice to dine outdoors facing the ocean. The ambiance with sea breeze is just relaxing charming. The staff here are very friendly providing great service. Would love to try out other dishes when we visit again.

Amazing place, my favorite restaurant in Koh Phangan. The best quality of food, staff very kindly. A lot of raw vegan options. 💗💗

We had a mix of starters for our meal, and it was all incredible. The jackfruit tacos deserve their own mention too as they were delicious. The staff were super attentive and the overall vibe of the restaurant was perfectly suited to the stunning views that are on offer.

Absolutely amazing food full of flavours and texture! Usually I like to try out different places but I’ve been coming back through my stay in Chaloklum - it’s truly addictive 👌😊 the food is superb and the staff very friendly, and the setting right above the beach makes it perfect!

This restaurant was truly something special. The menu is incredibly creative, with many gluten-free options and dishes that go well beyond the ordinary. Everything we tried was imaginative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive and the view of the beach added even more to the experience. Dining with the sound of the waves in the background was just perfect. One standout dish was the mushroom wrap – it completely blew me away. If you're curious about what vegan cuisine can really do when it's done with care and creativity, this is the place to try it! All in all, a truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy something a little different, in a beautiful setting. The quality here does come at a price – it's above the average for Thailand – but absolutely worth it. If I ever return to Koh Phangan, I’ll definitely come back to this place.

Kaif Deli & Restaurant is a trendy coffee shop that offers fresh baked treats and hearty English-style breakfasts, making it one of the best spots for a satisfying morning meal on Koh Phangan. It's highly regarded as a gem on the island, offering fine dining experiences and receiving praise for its Sunday roast, which has even earned approval from a Yorkshire native. The restaurant also boasts stunning views and a chill atmosphere in the northern part of the island.
Sea views & all day dining located in the glorious Chaloklum Bay. Perfect spot from morning to evening with various brunch & dinner options as well as coffee, juices & cocktails. Indoor seating with AC or outdoor seating with direct beach access. Our brunch experience was the best we had on the island. Quality ingredients, relaxing vibe and friendly staff!

Well, I would love to give this place a higher ranking, but I cannot do because of the rubbish next-door. It is unbelievable that the owner doesn’t care about it, that the place next to his is a “hill of rubbish” as you can see on the photos. -it’s literally a storage for rubbish you we’ll see whether you want it or not. Just unbelievable that if someone spends so much money, on this restaurant, how come he doesn’t care what is next-door?! Everyone can see who is sitting in the restaurant you cannot avoid this view come on. Besides this, I have to admit that the coffee is nice and the dishes are tasty too so is the view. I’m coming here quite often and each time I’m just wondering and asking myself why …

A must-visit in Koh Phangan 🌴 Kaif is a beautiful spot right by the sea 🌊 with a relaxed, stylish vibe. The atmosphere is amazing — calm, cool, and welcoming. The staff is super friendly and genuinely attentive, which made the experience even better 🙌🏼. We tried the fresh juices, coffee, sandwiches, and desserts — everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Gourmet-level food at very reasonable prices. If you’re in Koh Phangan, don’t miss this place — great service, great food, and a great view!

Wow what an awful experience. Sitting at the cafe couch drinking coffee and working - not noticing the staff member watering the plant beside me. The staff member poured water all over the plant, table, floor, and my open bag. I upended the bag and almost a litre of water poured out. The store staff apologized and gave me towels and paper towels etc. My Apple original chargers, bluetooth mics, tobacco, papers, literally everything inside my bag was soaking wet. All acknowledged and of course …. apologies all around …. In those moments. Except that the manager of course wasn’t available and he would be HAPPY to help me later. I uploaded all the images immediately to both Instagram and the WhatsApp of the apparent manager Sid. That’s where things get interesting. “Hi Corey, I’m just getting back to you in regards to yesterday, thanks for being patient. Following your report, I have reviewed the situation, including viewing CCTV footage and speaking with relevant team members. Having checked footage for the entirety of your time at Kaif, The plant pot in question was watered just once, using around 500ml of water poured from milk steaming jug, which can clearly be seen on CCTV. The plant pot itself is around 10-15 litres in volume and includes a catch basin underneath specifically designed to collect excess water and prevent any overflow and there was no sign of any visible leakage or spillage in the area surrounding it. I have found no evidence to support that any water from the plant or staff activity caused damage to your items. I must respectfully note that our property is located directly on the beachfront, and personal belongings left unattended or exposed may be subject to the elements — including moisture — which is outside of our control and for which we take no liability. While I am sorry to hear of the possible damage to some of your equipment, Kaif does not accept responsibility for any alleged damage caused under these circumstances. I have passed on the relevant information to the team and have asked them to be more aware of guests belongings (to the extent which we can be) and remind guests to please look after their personal items.” Wow. No evidence of water. No idea what could have happened. I should have watched my stuff. Of course this is in direct conflict with the immediate reaction of the staff present and all the documented images showing the significant water damage.

If you're looking for a delightful culinary experience in Koh Phangan, the Vintage Night Market is an absolute must-visit. Nestled in Thong Sala and open daily from 5 PM, this vibrant market is a haven for food lovers, offering an impressive array of dishes from various cuisines. While it may not cater extensively to vegetarians, you can still indulge in classic favorites like Pad Thai and pancakes.
Great food market - perfect for satisfying all kinds of cravings 🤤 We visited on several evenings while staying nearby and got to enjoy, just to name a few: Tom Yum, ribs, sushi, grilled chicken, hummus, and top-notch cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxing, the place is clean (including the toilets), and we even caught some live music on Sunday evening. Highly recommend the hotpot! 👌

If you are looking for exceptional variety, you have found the right spot here at the Night Market Cafe! They had everything from burgers to German food to healthy smoothie bowls to true authentic Italian food and obviously Thai food, different variations might I add! There is a buzzer system so you don't have to worry about standing around waiting for your food you can actually go and have a seat and your buzzer will go off with you for this ready. There are people walking around picking up your trays or empty plates or bowls from your table. There was a lot of DJ there that night so I'm not sure if there's one there all of the time but there was one there that night. It's in the center of that section of town so it's definitely walking distance. I'm still impressed with the variety of vendors that are located in the night market.

The lively 24-hour bar and restaurant create an inviting space where guests can unwind at any hour.
The best hostel to meet people and make friends! It has a super fun vibe with exciting games every night. The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The hostel is clean, cozy, and perfect for travelers. It also features a pool, gym, and football and padel courts. I would definitely come back!

Location is good with a few bars and restaurants out the front. I’ve stayed here a couple of times because of the price, but there is no privacy with curtains in the dorms, I haven’t felt welcomed by the staff when checking in each time. There is a good social atmosphere with the pool and they do serve food all night long which I did love! Put some curtains on the bunks, update the music they play each night and with more bubbly attitudes from the staff I think this place can really advance. Other pros are free gym use, paid paddle board and a soccer oval out the back.

The room was great, and the location was perfect. The staff and people were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the service made me feel just like home. There is also a sports complex on site with tennis court, football pitch etc. I will definitely be back.

The hygienic condition of the sanitary facilities was disastrous – proper cleaning does not seem to take place there. The trash in the rooms was not emptied, and rubbish was scattered all over the premises. Overall, the facility appears severely neglected; it is obvious that no investment is being made in maintenance. The general impression is therefore very run-down and anything but inviting.
Jan B — Google review
Terrible experience. The room was dirty, unsanitary, and uncomfortable. The hotel manager was rude and unprofessional. There's a feeling that the hotel puts more effort into dishonestly extracting money from its guests than actually providing them with a pleasant stay.
Altura D — Google review
The place is filled with cool young people to hang out with all the time, every night there is a nice party going, with games and music and good vibes. The bar is open 24/7, also the restaurant. The private room is very nice and amazing for the price, the staff is so nice, they even gave me a discount for the last couple of nights. The hotel isn't located in the center of everything but nothing is... In Koh phangan you have to get a bike to get places anyways. Also it was right across the street from where the first halfmoon party was, which was very comfortable.

Title: Absolute Worst Hostel Experience – Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place deserves one. From the moment I arrived, everything screamed scam. Check-In Scam: They demanded a 1000 THB cash deposit without telling me beforehand. When I said I didn’t have cash, they literally threatened to keep my passport unless I paid. No card accepted, no options, just pure arrogance. This is not hospitality – this is extortion. Rude & Useless Staff: I contacted them on WhatsApp before arriving to confirm the location – they ignored all my messages. At the desk, the staff were completely unfriendly and unhelpful, behaving like they were doing me a favor by letting me stay. Facilities = Nonexistent: No free water, not even a small refill station. They expect you to buy water from them. No free towels, you must rent or buy. Lockers are just empty metal boxes – you need to buy your own lock, otherwise useless. Dorm beds have no curtains, no privacy, no comfort. Just a hall of open beds crammed together. No personal charging outlets near the bed. If you want to charge your phone, you have to leave it somewhere unsafe. Bathrooms are a disgrace: no soap, no shampoo, not even basic amenities provided. Terrible Location: Don’t be fooled by the "Full Moon Party hostel" marketing. It’s actually 8 km away from the party beach. You’ll waste money and time traveling back and forth. Overall Vibe: Atmosphere is not fun, not social – it feels more like a cheap scam factory. They nickel-and-dime you for every single thing while providing absolutely nothing in return. In short, you pay just for a bare mattress in a toxic environment. Everything else is extra cost, poor quality, or simply missing. I genuinely regret booking this hostel. It ruined the start of my Koh Phangan experience. Please don’t make the same mistake. There are plenty of better hostels closer to the Full Moon Party that actually care about guests. Verdict: Worst hostel in Thailand. Avoid this place like the plague.

Maehaad Bay Resort is a casual resort offering warm rooms and suites with hot tubs, providing a comfortable stay for guests. The hotel boasts two pools and a restaurant serving delicious meals. Situated at Mae Haad beach, the spacious and modern rooms offer beautiful views from the balcony. While some guests found the open bathroom design uncomfortable, they appreciated the spaciousness of the accommodations.
Fantastic off season experience. A little far away from things, so if you don't like scooters be prepared to spend more than you want to on travel. Good amount of shops and restaurants around the resort. Hotel breakfast is excellent, but the restaurant food is a bit under par. I can really recommend!!

Don't use the laundry service!!! Positive things first: Room was clean and modern. Breakfast was good. Now to the negative things: The rest of the facility is pretty run down and no one cares about the fish tanks, just animal cruelty. Really disgusting! The beach is not clean and no good view on it. The worst thing is the laundry service. The bed sheets weren't that clean and they didn't clean our clothes properly at the first time and then used bleach detergent and completely ruined it. Of course they did not accept it to be their fault and did not agree on any solution. Would not recommend to stay here even it's cheap.

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (3/5) A charming resort with a stunning beach, but breakfast service needs improvement I recently stayed at Maehaad Bay Resort on Koh Phangan. The property is lovely, peaceful, and beautifully located right on a dream-like beach. The tropical garden views from the rooms are pleasant, and the overall atmosphere of the resort is relaxing. The staff at the reception and throughout most of the resort were warm, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. That said, a few points took away from the overall experience: • Fitness Room: The gym is really minimal and poorly equipped. Don’t expect much if you’re hoping to maintain a workout routine. • Breakfast Staff (Right-side restaurant): Unfortunately, the staff at the breakfast restaurant on the right side of the resort were the opposite of welcoming. Compared to the kindness shown by the rest of the resort team, their cold and even unfriendly attitude really stood out. • For example, instead of informing us upon arrival that a shirt was required to enter (which could’ve been done when our reservation was checked), we were only told once seated, and then asked to walk all the way back to our room across the resort. A simple heads-up would’ve saved time and frustration. • Even worse, as we were just settling in, they rang a loud bell…apparently to signal the end of breakfast, in a way that felt abrupt and borderline rude. It gave the impression they were eager for us to leave, rather than letting us enjoy what should be a peaceful morning. This is truly unfortunate, because the restaurant itself is perched in a paradise setting. With such potential, better service at breakfast would really elevate the experience and bring it in line with the rest of the resort’s charm.
SEBASTIEN N — Google review
The breakfast was excellent, with new dishes every day instead of the same routine options. I really enjoyed it. The hotel’s proximity to the beach is perfect – it’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in Koh Phangan. There are only a few restaurants around the nearby hotels. The resort’s own restaurant serves rather small portions and is quite expensive. The taste is decent, but the pizza was very bad – better not to order it. The pool is great – large, beautiful, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds available. The only downside is that there are no lights at night, so it can only be used during the day. The hotel is located away from town areas, so you need transportation to get around. Most places are about a 15–20 minute drive away.
Benjamin ( — Google review
I would rate it 5 stars purely because it is actually a really lovely hotel. The rooms are lovely, modern and clean. The main pool was so relaxing, the pool itself was really large and the sun loungers around it were comfy. It's close to the beach which is a plus, just a short walk round the corner. Only negative thing I would say was the staff as they were quite unbothered and seemed very strict. Also, if you want to stay in the main part of the island this hotel probably isn't it because there is not much around (although highly recommend Praya the restaurant down the road). For the price you pay, the star rating it has I think it's worth the price and I had a great stay overall!
Emily S — Google review
Absolutely terrible experience! I accidentally left my towel at the pool, and when I came back for it — they basically scammed me and made me pay for it again. Instead of showing any understanding or basic customer service, they blamed me and refused to help. The staff members Min and Aom were absolutely horrible — extremely rude, disrespectful, and treated us in a disgusting and unacceptable way. Their attitude was shocking and completely unprofessional. The whole experience was awful from start to finish. I left feeling cheated, humiliated, and very disappointed. I strongly recommend avoiding this place!

We ate at the hotels Restaurant, I’m warning you all. We waited two hours for our foods, for a one pizza margarita and hour and a half for 4 pieces of garlic bread and more Simple dishes. And no, they didn’t forget about it, they did take the order. We were 15 people so they couldn’t forget about it. And the food wasn’t really good either. We ordered baked potatoes, even after 2 hours of waiting it wasn’t cooked. In conclusion - BIG NO!
Rotem R — Google review
We had a pretty disappointing experience at this hotel. Small details which hurt the overall experience: - only one key was provided to the room which was inconvenient - the room cleaning was inconsistent - we had to wait for a long time for the room to be cleaned even after we specifically asked for it. Also used glasses were not always washed or replaced. - We had dinner one night at the hotel restaurant. When we wanted to pay, no one came to us and we had to go to the counter for someone to notice us.

Lovely place! The atmosphere is great, there is always some nice music playing, there is a lot of space to sit on the beach, and we loved the pool table. The beds are good and comfy, the airco is a bit cold so have an extra blanket close by. You can refile your bottles for free but it was empty a few times. Really nice hostel with the nicest staff, the whole place had a chill vibe, and a really cool location right out to the water. Friendly dogs roaming around. Decent food available at the gaf, and a great happy hour deal on beer. Once again can’t emphasize enough how nice the staff was, for example Mathew who welcomed us, and helped out with tickets for the waterfall festival!🙌🏼 Rooms were ok, but it didn’t matter cause the social rooms were really nice and had a lot to offer, so you really only needed it to cool down and sleep. Zama Resort in Koh Phangan is a top-notch accommodation with exceptional service and cozy, clean rooms. The sea view from the rooms and the pool area adds to its charm. Guests can enjoy breakfast until 5 pm, which is quite unique. The resort's staff is highly praised for their hospitality, making it a dream stay for many visitors. Additionally, its location near a long beach and various restaurants makes it an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore the local dining scene.
The west side of the crazy island is chilled and has an awesome vibe. Booked a group of 5 bungalows for a friend's trip and we had the best time. Staff were amazing, all day breakfast, accommodating for all our requests. I loved my stay. So many cute cats roaming around. Do yourself a favor and book your group in here if you want a friend's trip away.

We had an amazing experience staying at Zama Resort! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who personally showed us to our room, explained all the amenities, and even shared her private number in case we needed assistance during our stay on the island. The resort itself is absolutely charming and impeccably maintained. The rooms and bathrooms are kept to the highest standards, the pool offers a stunning view, and the restaurant serves à la carte breakfast all day — which we loved. The location is perfect — set in the most exclusive part of the island, with easy access to many beautiful beaches. On-site bike rentals and a co-working space make it convenient for both leisure and work. Most importantly, the staff is truly exceptional — always friendly, smiling, and ready to help with anything. Thank you, Zama — we’ve found our place and can’t wait to come back!

An excellent hotel with one of the best value-for-money experiences in Koh Phangan. The room is cozy with a balcony overlooking the sea, and the bed is very comfortable. The reception staff are kind and welcoming. The location is great – close enough to everything you need but not right in the noisy center (you’ll still need a scooter or taxi to get around). The only downside is the weak water pressure in the shower – but if that doesn’t bother you, this place is a solid 5/5

The staff here go over and above to make you feel welcome. This felt more like a 5* than a 3* resort. We were welcomed with a cold drink, warm smiles and room with a beautiful view and a plate with prepared fruits. We have felt the most relaxed here whilst on our trip around Thailand and all of the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. They helped us to book ferry transfers and taxis from the resort. There are also little extras in the room like mosquito repellant and beach bags, they have tried to think of everything. The food was superb and we would happily come back.

We've had such a lovely time at Zama. The rooms were beautiful, carefully thought out with bug spray, biscuits, mosquito burner on the balcony, dressing gowns and other comforts. The staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. The pool was lovely with an amazing view. The breakfasts were delicious along with the rest of their food and happy hour was a great deal. We will definitely be back!

Very friendly and welcoming staff makes this an enjoyable place to stay. Beds are very comfortable, pool is great and the food and cocktails are excellent. Rooms could do with a little maintenance but overall, a great location to enjoy the island.

Zama Resort was an incredible stay. I stayed at the resort for two weeks which were so comfortable and pleasant. The ‘seaview’ and ‘partial seaview’ rooms were amazing and relaxing! Comfortable, clean and with beautiful view. The staff were so kind and worked super efficiently. Anything I needed help with, was solved quickly and kindly. It felt like the owner and the staff think of the guests’ needs before their own. I was supposed to stay in another hotel, but after visiting Zama for two nights I cancelled my booking and stayed at Zama for the rest of my time in Koh Phangan. No doubt I will come back☺️🪷✨

The staff and service were great. They are all nice, attentive and go out of their way. The hotel overall is very nice, with a gorgeous view, nice pool area and pretty good food at the restaurant. Location is good, 4 mins from Zen Beach. Like other hotels in the area, there is A LOT of going up and down stairs in order to get to your room, let alone the beach. The hotel doesn't have a very usable beach, but if you walk down a couple of minutes there are nice beaches and a few mins away you can find Zen Beach. There are a few nice cats roaming the grounds, which is always fun.

We had a wonderful stay at the Baan Manali Resort. The bungalow is beautiful and furnished with great attention to detail. The bathroom is particularly modern. The accommodation is also very clean and is serviced daily. The surroundings are stunning in the natur. The staff is very welcoming and friendly at all times. We felt very comfortable! Given this incredible value for money, we would definitely come back again.

What an amazing place… if you want to be in your own little paradise, then this is the place for you. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The cafe had an amazing view, reasonable food and great shakes and cocktails. We loved it so much that we extended our stay for a couple more nights… I’ll definitely come back there. Also, if you are a cat lover, then you’ll be pleased to meet the furry owners of this place. :)

had a wonderful stay at Baan Manali Resort. My room faced the beach and was surrounded by lush gardens—so peaceful and beautiful! 🌺🌊 The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the staff were incredibly helpful, especially when I needed to adjust my booking—they were so accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a quiet beach retreat with warm, attentive hospitality. 🏝️✨

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive. The room was exactly as described. I loved having a hammock to relax in. The location was perfect. Just a short walk into the main pier area, but far enough away the resort is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend staying here!

Hotell has a great vibe with lots of beautiful plants. Comfortable rooms, which also include a hammock on your patio. Water is free during your stay. The pool is amazing! Its cold and very refreshing. Good location. 5min walk to nearest 7/11 and 10ish min walk to the city center. Highly recommend this place👌🏝🍻

Upon arrival at Ban Manali Resort, we were warmly welcomed with a refreshing iced fruit tea—definitely a lovely gesture after a long journey. The receptionist was incredibly kind and informative. She took the time to explain everything about the island, handing us a printed map and pointing out key attractions, activities, and places to visit. Her hospitality set a great tone for the start of our stay. As we entered our room, the initial impression was quite nice. The space was clean and tastefully decorated, but for the price we paid, it felt a bit on the expensive side. One of the main drawbacks was the bed—it wasn’t a true double bed but rather two single beds pushed together. This setup was a bit of a disappointment, especially for a couple looking for comfort. Another issue we encountered was a lizard inside the room. While we completely understand that Koh Phangan is a tropical island and occasional critters are expected, finding one roaming around our mugs and glasses didn’t sit well with us. It raised questions about how well-sealed and maintained the room was. The air conditioning also posed a challenge. It took nearly 30 minutes to cool down the room, and even then, we had to run the ceiling fan along with it to get a decent temperature. Its placement above the table didn’t help, as the airflow barely reached the bed area, which made it difficult to get comfortable, especially during the hotter parts of the day. Overall, Ban Manali Resort has a lot of potential and some really good qualities, especially in terms of hospitality and location. However, a few comfort and cleanliness issues kept it from being a perfect stay. With a few improvements, it could be a fantastic spot for travelers looking to relax on the island.

Retreat center
Wonderland Healing Center is a magical place located in Koh Phangan, offering top yoga retreat experiences. The center features excellent classes with a wide range of options for beginners to medium level practitioners. The bamboo lounge and juice bar serve creative vegan food with flavorful taste, along with a variety of drinks and shakes throughout the day. The location is peaceful, surrounded by trees, small ponds, and creeks creating a green and natural atmosphere.
Wonderland Healing Center truly feels like a second home. Every time I return, I’m welcomed like family and immediately feel at ease. The space is clean, beautiful, and thoughtfully maintained. The teachers are incredible, and the workshops are always inspiring and enriching. The food is absolutely delicious healthy, nourishing, and full of love. And I have to mention the pancakes at breakfast, they are simply unforgettable! There’s such a genuine sense of community here that makes every visit special. I can’t recommend Wonderland highly enough it’s a place where you feel supported, uplifted, and deeply connected.
Zoe T — Google review
The property was beautiful with great facilities, dorms and common areas were always clean, vegan buffet from great (coming from a non vegan) and the yoga classes were high quality. The local staff at the property were extremely kind and warm. This experience would have been fantastic if I was looking for an experience in solidarity and silence. While everything was built to make a great experience I personally was met with other guests who were not looking for the same experience as I was I guess. When smiling/saying hi/introducing myself to others I was met with dirty looks, cold/single word responses or I was straight up ignored many times a day. I spent the first 3 days alone trying to meet like minded people but that did not come till day 4 when I met 2 other Europeans who felt the exact same way. I am not sure for the exact reason for this but I will share that I’m a mixed race asian from a western country who speaks english. When most of the others at the healing centre were from the same country, from what I was told and from my experience were not interested in meeting others. I also noticed that while some people were there for yoga and healing some of my roommates in my dorm were going out and partying and coming back late at night. While I don’t have a problem with that I would have loved for these people to be separated so those there for the wonderland experience could rest while those more interested in other activities could meet each other. The only time it disrupted me was at night when the lights were turned on when they returned in the middle of the night, made tons of noise, used the bathroom with the door open and had their friends over to pre before going out. I wanted to really love wonderland and would love to say that I feel “healed” after the experience, however, because of the other guests there, unfortunately I did not have a good experience. For that reason I cannot recommend wonderland to any westerners/europeans/English speakers looking to make connections with others and immerse in the yoga/healing experience.

An amazing tropical retreat in the heart of Koh Phangan’s jungle! The resort is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. I stayed in a lovely room with a green view and a perfect balcony with a comfy hammock — the ideal place to relax. The cleaning staff were dedicated and kept everything spotless every day. The daily schedule of workshops — yoga, vipassana, sound healing, mantras, and frequency sessions — was truly special and brought people together in a beautiful way. The all-inclusive vegan food was healthy and delicious, with an open bar for most of the day. I’d just suggest adding a bit more tofu or other protein options. The massages and treatments were professional, attentive, and deeply relaxing. I stayed for 8 nights and absolutely loved it — highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, uplifting experience in nature! 🌴🐛 🐿️ 🐸

I completed my 200hour yoga teacher training at wonderland and it was the most wonderful month. The place, the food, the people 🩵🙏🏻 I had a private room which was lovely and comfortable. Made good use of the steam room and cold plunge most days. All the staff there are so lovely and helpful, they make you feel like family. It’s definitely somewhere I will be returning to when back in Thailand. The teachers of yoga are all fantastic and the special classes they offer in the evenings are incredible and unique experiences.

I had a really beautiful stay at Wonderland. It’s such a calm and nurturing world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life—it was hard to leave. I did the 7-day detox retreat and left feeling very different from when I arrived. The detox specialist assigned to me was excellent—super supportive and always available. The grounds, the classes, and the steam and cold plunge facilities were all fantastic. However, there are areas within the detox structure and facilities that could benefit from some updates—such as the colema room—and there could be a more structured approach to breaking the fast and exiting the retreat. While the detox specialist was supportive in helping me find options for a smooth transition, Wonderland itself didn’t offer much in terms of a “breaking the fast” menu or options for returning daily for a gentle exit, dietary guidance, or nutrient packs. As a result, I found coming off the fast and detox quite challenging. Other places on the island offer structured detox and “breaking the fast” support, and being able to go to one of those helped a lot. I think as more people attend Wonderland for detox and they invest in updating the detox facilities and some of the basic elements, it could become one of the best detox destinations on the island. It’s quiet, serene, and far enough removed from everything to help you really focus on your health journey. The yoga and variety of classes were also excellent. I would definitely come back.
Amanda A — Google review
Came here through some recommendations of friends and absolutely loved this place. I had a private room, the bed was very comfy and the room was clean. I had a little private pool on my balcony that I shared with my neighbor. I signed up for the detox program, and my Healer, Or, guided me wonderfully through my 6 day fast and the time before and after. The facility is amazing, nice pool area, the steam sauna and the cold plunge are open until 10pm, and the amazing staff does a great job fulfilling all your needs. They offer a variety of classes and have great teachers, one of them showed me yoga in a way that finally made me stick to it even after I left. Even tho I couldn’t try much of it during my fast, the buffet and the juice bar looked fantastic too. The only thing that was a bit of a shame in my 11 days stay was that the majority of the people there came from one country and the main language at dinner tables or the pool area usually wasn’t English what made it a bit harder to connect to people, but I still had some amazing conversations and enjoyed this place nevertheless. (maybe avoid early/mid October if you want a greater mix of people)

Our visit to Wonderland was absolutely perfect! There are yoga classes throughout the entire day and plenty of wellness workshops, and we truly enjoyed every part of the experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the hospitality was amazing. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the weather during our stay was just perfect. We booked a private room for four nights and enjoyed it very much. We highly recommend Wonderland to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway!

Haad Yao Resort is a hillside accommodation with a laid-back atmosphere, featuring open-air dining, a pool, and a private beach with a bar. The rooms are simple and clean, offering an affordable option during the low season. While some guests have noted the lack of furniture in the rooms, they appreciate the friendly staff and the presence of an excellent coffee shop on-site. The restaurant serves decent Thai food at reasonable prices for the area.
At first a have a negative review because the staff isn't very friendly, but after a few days here, I see the real problem. It's the guests! I have never seen such rude behaviour from tourists in all my life, bossing people around, making stupid requests. The staff deserve a trophy for not killing some of these people, absolutely disgusting behaviour. If you're from the middle east or Russia, learn to act like a human being before you travel, or better yet, don't travel.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! from the beging the lady at the desk was'nt nice to us. They booked over our booking, they booked us a taxi that we paid in advance and never came. Very cheep and very not worth it.

This place was inexpensive, clean, and simple. We found a great price online - 550 baht during low season. The staff were friendly and there is an excellent coffee shop downstairs. The room itself lacked any furniture aside from the bed and a rack to hang clothes or towels however outside on the terrace there were table and chairs for taking in the distant sea view. We moved on because we wanted a bungalow and a placed tucked off the main road. Overall a positive experience.

We ate in the restaurant several times. Decent Thai food at a reasonable price for the area at a beach front restaurant. While we didn't stay there, the friendly manager showed us the rooms, which were priced at 700 Baht a night during the low season, and large and spacious with big balconies, although not overlooking the ocean.

Absolutely unfriendly staff. Very rude and unhelpful. This is the worst place we have been to in Thailand. Do not expect anything nice frome guys. They will not help you. We came for a dinner with a small child. We felt like we were disturbing them. The restaurant was almost empty. Few people sitting outside on the beach sipping drinks. Food was just OK. Avoid this place. Management: please change the staff at the bar.

Awful experience. The bed had springs digging into us and gave us intense back pain the, the noise was so bad and the bum gun didn't work and almost wet the whole floor. When we asked to move out after 3 days and get the next 3 days we'd paid fors money back the front reception were so angry and yelling at us saying there's nothing they will do to help us. I felt really upset and disappointed. They were being very harsh and rude and laughing in our face when we were trying to talk with them.

Dinner was not nice. Curry was not freshly made but tasted like a manufactured curry mixed with some potatoes and chicken. Fried rice tasted like supermarket dried rice. Our drinks came after our diner and therefor too late as I don't like to drink my beer after my dinner. View is amazing.

Thong Sala – Paradise with a Price Tag Welcome to Thong Sala, Koh Phangan’s port and unofficial tourist trap. Step off the ferry and straight into the arms of taxi drivers offering “special prices”—aka double the going rate. No meters, no mercy. Even a five-minute ride costs like a private tour. Solo travelers? You're jackpot. Pro tip: grab a scooter, dodge the scam, and roll on your own terms. Thong Sala's got charm—but keep your wallet close and your smile skeptical.

Che Noi Thai Food is a budget-friendly eatery located in various areas of Koh Phangan. The restaurant offers a wide range of classic and exotic Thai dishes, including Massamun Curry, frog, boar, 'bird,' and catfish. Despite slow service, the place leaves customers satisfied with their stomachs full and wallets happy. The family-run establishment serves freshly prepared home-cooked meals at affordable prices without compromising on taste.
That was one of the best food so far I had on the island. Big portion, reach with vegetables. Tasty. :) I can recommend this place! The dishes are cheap. Around 70 - 80 THB. They have papaya salad. We had a Fried Rice Tom Yam and Fried Rice with cashunut.

Very nice local thai food place! Everything is cheap, good quality and most importantly the portions are big! Some favorites were fried rice chicken for 50 baht, chicken cashew with rice for 70 baht (fish is 80) and pad Thai chicken for 60 baht. Shakes are also 40 baht. Amazing place! Great service too. It’s run by a really cute couple

Very Accessible, very friendly and an amazing service in terms of cooking time. We had Som Tam, Tom Kha Gai, and pineapple fried rice with cashew nuts, aswell as Pad Thai (not on picture). Watermelon shake was also exceptional good. We have been to a few good restaurants now but this is for me the best one.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in all of Thailand, probably the best. Super cheap food and massive portions. I have been almost starving because of the small portion sizes in Asia, but here I found heaven. Super friendly owners and everything is freshly cooked, would recommend it strongly!!!

Brilliant freshly prepared home cooking, though I think the spice was toned down a bit for us 😁. Family run place with a good selection of authentic Thai dishes. We ordered the Tom Yum, papaya salad, pad Thai and a whole pomfret in curry sauce and two coconut shakes and paid 590 Baht! Everything was fresh and and very tasty, will definitely go again

Authentic Thai taste with reasonable price! I had (คั่วกลิ้งหมู) Krua-Kling-Moo which is the typical southern rice dish. It’s spicy and tasty enough. Highly recommend for those who are keen to have a basic Thai rich dish for lunch or even dinner :) sadly I forgot to take a photo in the beginning because I was hungry.

Manager is SO RUDE! I asked to keep my medication in a fridge but he rudely refused, he wasn’t even sorry about it. He said the owner would not be happy, I asked to call the owner to explain the situation but he told me to go away and threatened to kick me out! I found somewhere else to stay but my friends remained there as they had already paid - they said they had a rat in the room which ate their soap and pooed on their bed. The sheets were disgusting, the stairs up to the bungalow were falling apart, the hut has huge holes in the walls where mosquitoes (and clearly rats too) can get in. The bathroom is horrible - you feel dirtier after using the shower! 1/10 AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Do not go. The place and location is nice but the staff (with one exception) are appalling. They do their best to make you feel unwelcome at all times. You can tell that they do not enjoy working with people. This is not just me, I've heard the same stories from many other guests (also read the other reviews). Pretty much just across the street from this location there's Sunset Travel with nicer bungalows and most importantly nice people.

We felt very comfortable at the "Baan Kai" hostel. It was clean, the rooms were air-conditioned and the two owners are incredibly friendly. There are clean toilets and showers (hot and cold). We were given tips and information about the island, received a friendly welcome and were informed about activities, food, laundry and scooter hire. We would gladly come back again and again and would definitely recommend the hostel to others. Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you!

Cannot recommend this hostel enough. Booked last minute for the full moon party and so glad I stayed here. The showers were nice and hot and the hostel was clean and spacious. The owners are so nice and are always on hand to help and ensure you have a good stay. There was free painting pre full moon and the owners told us all about each event or activities to do each day. The hostel next door runs a free trip everyday that our hostel was kindly enough to be invited on. Hair dryers were a huge bonus and the Wi-Fi connect was always good! The coffee downstairs was also the best I’ve had in Thailand. 10/10 would stay again

By far one of the best Hostels I stayed in! Rooms: The rooms are clean and the beds pretty comfy. The showers and bathrooms are clean as well, you have hot water and everything is cleaned daily. All windows have Mosquito nets (Huge Bonuspoint). Downstairs is a large community area (nuums coffee) to get to know the other guests or customers of the coffee. Location: The hostel is located between the party area of Koh Phangan (Haad Rin Beach) where the full-moon and half-moon parties take place (and many others as well e.g. OXA, Waterfall) and the town where you arrive by ferry (Thong Sala). It's easy to go to Haad Rin by bike or taxi. The same goes for Thong Sala where you can visit night and food markets. Since the hostel is also a coffee bar (and definitely one of the best if not the best on Koh Phangan) you can treat yourself all-day with awesome coffee and tea (try the iced versions 😌) Right Next to the hostel is a really good and authentic Thai Kitchen. You can watch the cook at work, the prices are low and the food is amazing 😍 Service: The Hostel Team gave us a lot of recommendations on what to do on the island and even showed us around one day. Which was by far the best tour ever. We saw a lot of nice spots and had a lot of fun. They helped us after we lost our credit card and phoned the Thai bank for us. And when we had a small accident they accompanied us to the hospital. They're super friendly, know the island and hang out with the guests (if time allows). The hostel is super familiar and we had an awesome stay with Tong and Nuum as our hosts. We hope to come back soon. (the pictures show spots of the tour they took with us)
