Everything was perfect-food, interior, music, staff! Portions was huge, keep in mind this, otherwise you don't get up from the chair;) This place definitely must be visit.

Nice place at the center of the city, in the old part. They had DJ playing music. It was very busy, it is better to book a table in advance. Food was nice, they had many options.

We had breakfast at iberico and the food was good especially the poached eggs. Despite the negative reviews regarding the staff, they were friendly and polite. What I didn't necessarily like it was the fact that I couldn't find the nutritional values of the dishes served which to me are really important.

Very disappointing experience. Even though they seated us, they didn’t warn us that they wouldn’t be able to serve everyone. They told us the food would be delayed by 50 minutes, which we accepted. They took a few orders, then refused to take the rest, saying they were too busy and would be closing soon. Some of us were left hungry with no prior notice. The service was chaotic, with no organization, the staff didn’t speak any English, and there were no English menus. They left seated customers without food – completely unacceptable.

The food was tasty, but it was lukewarm. Surprising, because there were few tables taken while we were there and the food itself arrived relatively fast. Gorgonzola chicken also had no gorgonzola (but at least it was good).

Downtown is an amazing place! It has delicious food, my favourite thing to order is their burger. It is the most delicious burger I've ever had in my life. I highly recommend it! The service there is also wonderful! 😊Best place to eat at!

Stopped here for appetizers and drinks. Was a wonderful experience. The service was prompt and the food was very good. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air. I reccomend this location and hope to visit again soon.

Stuff was not really paying attention that people arrived, we got ourselves the menu, were cleaning tables instead of taking orders, despite being only 2-3 tables with clients. Ordered a limonade, should be 400ml, not in a small broken glass, this is hazardous, you can cut yourself while drinking.

My first diner in Craiova had become one i will surely not forget. First of a bergenbier for just 2 euro is a great price and the overall service is really good. The food i ordered was the country sausages and special skewer. The sausages had such a strong herbal taste i really enjoyed it and the skewer had different sorts of meat and some bell pepper on it. The quality of the meat was really high aswell. But the atmosphere in this place really takes the top. The live band and everyone in the restaurant dancing made this a great experience! Really recommend this one!

Very good food, very nice service. If there will be another trip to Craiova, we will go again, for sure, to have our lunch there. The servings are big, the price is good compared to the size of the servings. We tried Romanian traditional food and all the meals at the table were delicious: beef sour soup ✅, grilled chicken breast with golden fries (wedges) ✅, beans stu with pork knuckle ✅, snitzel with mashed potatoes ✅. We had no desserts. However, they weren’t looking so tasty. I honestly recommend the place!

The best restaurant where you can try Romanian traditional food in Craiova. The restaurant is not far from the town centre, about 10 min walking. The service is great and the food is amazing. The restaurant offers a menu of the day which is usually cheaper than the other meals on the menu. Overall, a great experience. I'll be visiting the restaurant again.

A cozy restaurant with very good food, large portions, and quick and friendly service. Just be sure to check the table availability if you go during the weekend, on a Saturday afternoon we were very lucky to get the last table, as most of the restaurant was booked for a baptism. But even so, the service was nice and quick, so no complaints there.

I loved the ambiance of this place. Good authentic Romanian food. We tried the butcher's special which says it's for 2 but could really feed 4. Also got the sarmale (cabbage rolls) which were amazing. They could not split the bill down the middle though which was annoying.

Food - 2 Service - 4 Atmosphere - 3 I ordered a Cesar salad which I could not eat.. it had tons of mayonnaise in it an it was covered in some cheese that wanted to be parmesan (but it was either just cheese or a bad parmesan). my husbands got pasta carbonara and that was good. some friends got the Chinese chicken and that was extremely salty... other friends which ordered more "classic" dishes had no complaints. I'd say it's a gamble. Prices are affordable if you like what you order.

Our best restaurant experience in Craiova, not Iberico that waitress said that if you want to eat something, you have to wait more than hour , next place we walk to was Bulevard, we came incide and waitress look at us like why you come, we waiting 15 minutes, and start looking a different place to eat seafood. We choose Sofia bistro , and it was the best choice for restaurant in our vacation in Craiova. Start from the homely, polite and speak English stuff, the place have no smoking zone even outside, we ordered seafood mix for the couple and it was perfect, delicious plate ! The prices very good independed of the others restaurants in Craiova. Big like for this place and hightly recommended.

I was in the city for short stay and decided to eat dinner at Sofia Bistro, was the best decizion. The food was delicious and the prices just right. If you are searching for a place to eat and read this review, i totally recommend this place. Make sure you Call them before, to reserve a table. P.S. This is not just my opinion, i have been with another 4 friends(very fussy) and they all love the food at Sofia Bistro.

My last vista to Craiova was in 2014. We decided to go out to a restaurant, and my wife's relatives took us to this beautiful restaurant. The weather was great and the restaurant was very good. I ordered a stake and I was instantly extremely please, I could wait until my next visit to Craiova. My recent visit wasn't so good. I ordered a lasagna which is one of my favourite foods, and on my first taste, it was awful, far too much salt in it and I didn't want to ask for another meal as, we were there for over 2 hours before we got our food, no fault of the restaurant. I was surprised that after receiving our food, no one came a bit later to ask how was our food, as this is customery in the UK. A disappointing experience from my last one.

Beautiful place with tasty food. Unfortunately there could be more food on the plate. We ordered 500 Gramm of sea food and got way less. I would understand that for a lower price but for 70 lei there could be more. You would need 3 plates like that one to get full. I also ordered some ribs and got something else. The excuse was that that they didn’t have ribs anymore. So they decided for me what to eat. They also didn’t have any burgers or stakes at the moment.

Very nice and calm place with Italian food. It wasn't busy maybe because it was monday. The food was well cooked but my risotto was a too salty for my taste. As a minus I give the difficult communication because the waiter knew english quite poorly.

The atmosphere is similar to an Italian restaurant .🇮🇹 The pizza 🍕 was tasty but not fantastic. You could feel that the ingredients are local. Service was fine but could be improved. There was a single waiter for 6 tables.

Waiter dropped a bottle of beer on my phone, cracked my screen and doused me in beer. Told me it's not his fault or responsibility and refused to pay or talk anymore. His colleague was super friendly and understanding and I really appreciate his efforts to clear up the situation. The boss however was rude and did. not try to remedy the situation, which speaks volumes about his attitude towards his own business and clients. On the other hand the only tasty thing in the menu was the beans with pork in bread. The grill meat is bad bad.

The food was not good at all except the beans with pork in bread. The glasses and the cutlery were dirty. Follow the picture I ordered the bread as well. What surprised me is this one is less soup, purely beans and some meat. The main dish I ordered …, forgot the name, just remember called Dacia something. It was mix with some chicken, liver, or perhaps beef? Can’t tell because the source taste but strong. The price is not high the quantity is quite good the taste is so so. But the atmosphere is ok, traditional songs and lots of local dancing together.

It's a nice restaurant in Craiova if you are looking for a place to eat traditional romanian food. The prices are decent and the food is delicious! The place is nicely decorated and the personnel is really kind. :) I'd totally come back and I recommend it.

The place is a good blend of modern and traditional, in most ways, you have the interiors, the menus and the serving and whole setup well made and prepared for a nice experience. The dishes available in the memu and blend of drinks are very common to the overall consumption range nationwide. The table service is very prompt and the folk can offer you assistance in terms of choosing the best options and to craft a best experience for your culinary needs. The place looks very clean and tidy and hope to have a good time.

The whole place smelled like toilet. Pork ribs were stale and two weeks old. The other food was cooked in old oil, but was kind of okay. They only have menus in Romanian. The woman waitress is not polite. Not rude, but really doesn't care about your experience. The outside garden is surrounded by artificial walls but it's not really usable in the winter because there are no heaters there.

A bit dated, but still the same old good food I used to eat here in the 90s. Seems the time stopped like 20 or 30 years ago, even the music is old and a mix of traditional, folk and gypsi like music "manele". Recommend for an authentic experience of olden times!

one soup one fried chicken. The soup I forgot the name, but from picture you could see the quantity was really “full”. The chicken is boiled by oil first and then come along with garlic source. If you like garlic, do order this one, the chicken itself is without strong flavor but with the garlic source it becomes so delicious! But if you have a dating awaiting, do not take it!!

Lovely courtyard in traditional Romanian style. Great location. The staff hardly spoke English, which made us order half guessing, as they did not understand our questions. In the end we received almost what we wanted, the food was ok, but not great.

Rude and unwelcoming-the lady waiter lacking manners. Incorrect information to costumers - they advertise day special until 4pm, but nothing left by 12:30pm! Altogether an unpleasant experience, too bad I was reminded of the bad ways of doing business in Romania.

Nice place to eat if you want a bite of "Romanian" food. The food is not exceptional, but it is quite good, overall. It does bring back some "old-time" vibes. Garlic lovers, you might like this place. Loved the waiter - you know the type, the one that looks astern at you if you do something in a way that she does not approve of. Some poeple might find that hard to accept, but it might be the perfect fit for people with residual "mommy issues". I've always said that atmosphere is what you make of it. The place might be a bit kitschy, but somehow the overall image is not annoying or disturbing, it just is. Loved the wall of the pickled jars! Do not miss it! If I were the owner I would arrange it as a place for people to take pictures with the jars as the background - would make for a nice pic. Just check the attached image. I will definitely come back for garlic, fried meats and a pic with my beloved pickles :)

We decided to try this restaurant as it was very close to our accommodation. The restaurant was lovely decorated and the service was great. The food looked really nice but it was very oily and both me and my partner had tummy aches the next day.

The staff ignored our requests to remove garlic from the food, every single meal was prepared badly, it took 2 hours until the last one was ready

The place îs clean an welcoming, warm athmosphere and acceptable noise level for a pleasant meeting. Over average prices for drinks & food. Unfortunately all the pasta dishes were wrong: cold, untasty, slimy, sluggy, one mooshy plastic tasting cheese sold as quattro formaggi. Refused all portions, received a bonus pizza as reward. Not the Best place for food.

TRULY AMAZING!! The restaurant just reopened and it is extremely nice decorated with very beautiful couches. We tried their pizza diavola which was super nice. Also the Caesar salad with the garlic french fries which were all really good and fulfilling. Truly recommend the lemonade which we enjoyed a lot. The staff is super friendly and happy which always helps, so keep up the good work!! Also, they are pet friendly which is always a big plus and parking is easy to find on the main street

Not sure what's going on with these random low star reviews. We went there last night and had an overall pleasant experience. The service was great and so was the ambiance. I ordered pasta which was good quality however I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. My girlfriend and friends enjoyed their food. I also tried their food which was certainly better than what I selected. It looks like it depends on your selection. The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting but they fixed it. The drinks were great! The tiramisu was definitely my favorite! Overall this place is a solid 4 out 5 and yes, I'd go back.

Beautiful new location, nice atmosphere. Very good food, tasty. Didn't like gold cheap cutlery with stains already and the staff asking too often if food is good, disturbing us when eating. If we are eating that means is good. Remember that you are disturbing the customers and is very annoying to ask a few times, apart if that I do recommend the restaurant

It’s a great place to go to. The pizza is good, the pasta is still good, but nothing special. The desserts are absolutely great. It’s a chilling atmosphere. “Molleux au chocolat” is delicious and the chocolate and cherry cake is great, as well.

First of all, I have to say that this place tries to be a restaurant with fine dining, but as far as I'm concerned, it fails on every single aspect. I say this because although the food looks fancy, very photo-worthy, and the prices are very high, the taste leaves a lot to be desired, as well as the service. Speaking of food, they have a relatively small menu. I wouldn't mind that, but I expect to find pretty much everything on it. Out of 4 meals that we ordered, two were out of stock. Ok...we ordered something else and a prawn appetizer. I mention it as it costed over 80lei...and you can look at it in the photos below. You tell me that its worth as much, because the taste and the quantity was far away from that price. You can get seafood pasta for way less than that and still get at least as many prawns. Overall, the taste of the food was ok, but far, far away from its price. Another aspect to mention was the service. I hear that many people praise it, but our experience was simply laughable. We were asked in the beginning what we want to order without even giving us the menu, as if we were regulars who somehow managed to learn the menu by heart; and no, we are not regulars. Then after ordering what we were able to due to the lack of stock (which, by the way, was confirmed telephonically beforehand that it was plenty; and guess what? it wasn't) we were asked in which order we would like to have our food served...as if somebody would eat the main course first and leave the appetizer for desert. What can I say more?

The food isn’t exceptional. One day I ordered piri piri chicken and it was ok and after few days, I ordered the same thing and it was horrible. The food was burned out. I also ate chicken teriyaki salad and the chicken was pink in some parts, meaning it wasn’t fully cooked. I also ate breakfast here. There are few things for breakfast, comparing to other hotels. As I stayed 2 weeks I got bored of the same food. Anyway, they have an option where you can order omelette. It was good, until the last day when my colleagues and I ordered 3 omelettes and they had a taste like chemicals, like the dish soap remained on the pan. The waiter said that there is no problem in the kitchen, but it definitely was something as 3 out of 3 omelettes had the same taste.

Cofetaria Minerva is a charming place with an impressive and eclectic architecture. I really liked the furniture, the delicious cakes, and the green-and-gold design at the counter, which adds a touch of elegance. However, I felt that the overall atmosphere was disturbed by too many random decorative accessories: Christmas-like lighting in summer, items placed on the radiators, artificial cakes, peacock feathers, vases of different styles, and mismatched paintings. The presence of flies inside was also unpleasant. In addition, the sales assistant seemed rather clumsy, often dropping trays and spoons on the floor, which did not leave a good impression.

We are visitors from the UK, my partner is Romanian. We wanted to experience dining here as it's such a magnificent building & we had visited briefly to look around on a previous trip in May. Our waitress was lovely, very friendly & helped with a vegetarian option for the set lunch menu. The food was very nice. However, only 3 stars given for the service as the ambience was completely ruined by the manager. He was poorly dressed, I thought he was the cleaner, initially. He did not greet us, even though the restaurant was very quiet with few guests. At one point I visited the ladies' room. Without knocking, he barged in, looked around, then left without an "excuse me" or anything. I was shocked, as no man would enter the ladies' room without knocking or checking first. I think he & the restaurant as a whole could benefit from modernisation in its standards. Another member of staff was dressed in trainers & t shirt which was not befitting of the setting. A further lady with dark hair swaggered around & looked like she was on drugs. Very disappointing, I feel sorry for our waitress as the manager seemed arrogant. I heard the council has bought the building, I hope they bring in fresh management to give this place the refresh it deserves.

He smiled and gave me a table. After some time, while I was waiting for the menu, an older waiter (maybe the boss?) came and said all tables were reserved. It was almost empty at that time and also pretty obvious that he was lying. After I had eaten next door, I passed by, and of course it was still almost empty at the inside tables – lie confirmed. From the spectacular view, to the personal and the ending drink, everything was marvelous! We were amazed and came back for the second time. I personally loved the •risotto porcini• !!!! I would eat it forever! Perfect! I also loved the fish with seasonal greens. They end the night with a cold shot of TENTURA, which is basically a cinnamon liquor and the second time we went there I’ve ordered 100ml. I tried this drink at other restaurants too but it was a little too diluted for my taste and honestly after the one served at Mythos I couldn’t like it anywhere else. Come here for the food, not for the coffee! Nice location and good food with balkanic-greek theme, and some italian pasta. The portions are medium-big, the dishes are tasty and the prices are medium. The coffee is rather bitter and mediocre, wouldn't recommend it.

The TASTIEST FALAFEL WRAP in Craiova! They prepare fresh orders, so naturally it takes 5 to 10 minutes. The flavours and quality is worth it. The owners/workers are friendly, good communicators, respectful, and honest. I forgot my tablet inside and they actually came after me with it when I had left!

I Ordered a Large Chicken Gyro Plate for takeout. Didin't receive any of the 4 sauces that are listed in the menu. Was I supposed to say that I want the sauces to be included in the portion that I paid for? The menu clearly says: Chicken, Fries, Salad and 4 Sauces. Service 1/5 I can't even rate the food properly because of that, it was extremely dry, and tasteless, and the portion isn't even that big, even if I ordered the large one. Food 2/5 Don't go here, you'll be disappointed. If you fancy some better value for similar food, go to Mesopotamia, the portion is much bigger there. Even McDonalds and KFC are better than this place. As a side note, the doors are left open in the evening and a homeless kid began begging me to give him money, absolutely horrible! Atmosphere 2/5

Awful service, I was looming to buy a menu of crispy doner, it was 30 ron, the cashier told me that there is no crispy doner at 30, only at 37, I bought that only to find out that it was not a menu.
