Pakistani restaurant
Buffet restaurant
Restaurant
Der Wiener Deewan is a vibrant eatery in Vienna that offers an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Pakistani cuisine. The buffet includes five delicious curries, with options for both vegans and meat lovers, along with rice, naan bread, salad, various sauces, and dessert. What sets this restaurant apart is its unique payment system - customers can decide how much they want to pay for their meal.
I love the concept! eat as much as you like while paying what you think is fair, by setting up the right price yourself. The food was excellent, with a diverse and flavorful selection of Indian and Pakistani dishes, salads, desserts, and sides. A truly unique and satisfying experience right in the heart of Vienna
Francesco C — Google review
Good Desi Pakistani food.. Reasonable price and all you can eat... Charges are not fixed... You can pay as you like... Normal that people are paying is 8 to 10 Euros per head which is really reasonable price
Imran K — Google review
the best place we ate out in vienna, hands down. so aromatic and flavourful, there are so many vegetarian options, there's even a dessert option too! you can just get stuffed and pay as much as you wish (there's an 8 euro minimum though when you pay by card). definitely worth checking out!
Maria M — Google review
Picture that, you’ve been sightseeing all day, you are exhausted, you’re legs just don’t work. You wander across Vienna looking forward to eating basically whatever and suddenly your attention is being caught by the sign shining brightly saying “Der Wiener Deewan”. We’ve entered. Vibe inside wouldn’t have made you suspect the greatness behind this place. I had rice with four different kinds of curry. I didn’t notice when the first plate disappeared. Then another one… So did my friends’ plates. We satisfied our hunger in about half an hour and sat outside for another one spending together wonderful time. And all that for the prize you choose to pay. Absolutely best place to eat in Vienna.
Julian T — Google review
Great idea for a restaurant and great execution. The food was incredibly good, hot, fresh, plentiful, and delicious, with free water to drink. Pay what you want concept is interesting and feels very fair. No-frills location with a lot of vegetarian options.
Caroline D — Google review
Very simple restaurant which offers everyday cuisine. You usually can choose between 5 different vegan components for your dish, plus salad, rice, sauces and very very interesting typical desserts. Everything is tasteful and it just delivers. Lentils were otherwordly. You can have two full plates for a price between 7 and 12 and it is perfect to fill your gut at any hour; without many expectations. It does what it should. P.S. The owner will always judge, at least with his eyes, how much you have chosen to pay. P.S. P.S. Many thanks to the lady which was so enthusiastic about this place that she spent good words for it with us for 10 minutes. May the force be with you.
Giacomo B — Google review
Best curry in town and thank you for being vegan! Pay as you wish, great food and very nice people thank you!
Emilie H — Google review
I have been eating here for a long time. But these few times they have suddenly changed the dishes to only vegetarians and vegans, which I felt so sad because the chicken curry and the beef were the best dishes. I would say I came here again and again is because of these two dishes…. Now I have no reason to come again until if the meat curry comes back…

Amusement park
Nature & Parks
Park
Restaurant
Prater is a historic public park in Vienna that has been open to the public since 1766. It features a long promenade, traditional amusement park rides, a planetarium, and a museum showcasing its rich history. The park also houses children's rides from the '20s and '30s that survived a fire in 1945. One of its most iconic attractions is the Prater Ferris Wheel, offering an unforgettable view of Vienna from above.
A Perfect Blend of Nature and Fun – A Park for Everyone! This park truly offers the best of both worlds. On one side, you’ll find a peaceful and charming green area with a pond full of ducks, perfect for a relaxing walk, biking, or even a picnic under the trees. It's an ideal spot to unwind, enjoy nature, or just let the kids run free while you sit back and take in the serene atmosphere. On the other side of the park is a huge amusement area that’s packed with games and attractions for all ages. From thrilling rides to fun games for kids, there's something here for everyone. We tried the giant Ferris wheel, which gave us amazing views — definitely a highlight! The ride cost €6 per person, and it was well worth it. Keep in mind that while entry to the general park is free, each amusement game or ride has its own separate fee. There’s also a fantastic section within the park filled with restaurants! you can visit day or night. It’s a great area to relax after a walk or a fun ride, and it's equally enjoyable for both adults and kids. All in all, this park is a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a calm afternoon in nature or an exciting day of fun, it has it all in one place!
Nariman L — Google review
A wonderful place to visit! The park is spacious and beautiful, perfect for walking and relaxing. The Ferris wheel gives amazing views of Vienna, and there are many fun attractions, cafes, and places to enjoy. A great spot for families, friends, or solo visits. Highly recommended .
Saeed B — Google review
Had an amazing time . The rides were exciting, the atmosphere was lively, and I had so much fun — even went solo and loved every moment. A perfect place for thrill and good vibes!
Purnima T — Google review
The rides are great, and thwre are lots of them! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the prices. Each ride is at least 6€ per person, and you cant buy group tickets. For a family of 4 that wants to enjoy a full day of theme park adventure - it is a sizable expense
Leah G — Google review
Loved this park, free to enter and you pay per ride, went like 3pm and not all rides were open but around 5pm most of them were open. Booster king, Black Mamba, Wiener looping & Volare were apur favorite rides
Steven I — Google review
The amusement park was really fun! There were many different rides and attractions — I wanted to try them all. There are also food stalls and cafés, which make it easy to spend a few hours there comfortably. I visited after 8 PM and didn’t have to wait in line for any of the rides. The atmosphere was lively, colorful, and full of energy. A great place to enjoy with family or friends.
Ayşenur — Google review
We had lots of fun at Prater. Many fun and exciting rides. Amazing views, fun and lively atmosphere. I expected prices to be higher, but they weren’t. There’s no entry fee, you pay for your rides. In November 2025 most rides cost 5€ per person. The famous ferrys wheel cost around 15€ for adults and half price for children. Many attractions available in the evening (we visited 8-10pm) for adults and kids (9 y/old)
Mariam B — Google review
The venue is good. 3 different stages inside it with multiple genres. The crowd is local but very young demographic. Not the best if you are above 25 unless the dj is great

Vietnamese restaurant
Nguyen’s Pho House is a low-key restaurant in Vienna's 8th district, offering classic Vietnamese dishes such as pho, meat dishes, and noodles. The restaurant is popular among locals and visitors alike, with its inviting aroma of delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Guests can indulge in traditional favorites like papaya salad, summer rolls (available in vegetarian, shrimp, or pork options), and crispy spring rolls.
I walked 20 mins to get here and they did not disappoint. I ordered the stir fried garlic beef strips pho and deep fried prawn spring rolls. They are both delicious. The soup for the pho is heavier than the normal one but I wanted to try this version which isn’t available back home. So all is good!
Cindy C — Google review
Ordered the crispy duck pho and the rice noodles with grilled pork and crispy spring roll. Pho was 13.90 euros and the rice noodles was about 12. The taste feels more like fusion style, not really the original taste i was expecting. Seating outside was crowded, not sure about those inside.
SL A — Google review
Great food. We ordered the chicken pho and I had the vegan vegetables with fresh tofu and rice. Speed of service was quick! Portions were good also. Wifey enjoyed her pho also. Plus we took out some vegan pho. The resto has lots of vegan options. I suggest to make a reservation.
Angie K — Google review
Unfortunately a rather disappointing dining experience. Not only was the service rude, but the food was bland and tasteless. The restaurant was also very crowded and extremely loud. At least the portions were generous!
Antonia N — Google review
Wonderful Vietnamese food. We had Pho and Bun bo Hue, banh cuon and Bun Thit nuong, all lovely 😊 the staffs are great too
Moc A — Google review
If you are looking for something other than Austrian food this is a good alternative. I got the Bun Bo Hue. It is not the authentic one like my mom makes or what you would get in Vietnam. The noodle soup itself is pretty good though. It’s got a good flavor and then ingredients are fresh. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is modern Vietnamese. On a cold winter day it’s a good place of common and get one of their noodle soups.
Vu T — Google review
Food was delicious, pho was really flavorful, pork super tender and summer rolls really good too. For the price, it is a very decent portion. The only downside was the service, when I went to pay the server was not nice.
Jessica S — Google review
Vietnamese classics including pho, meat dishes, noodles. It offers also different vegetarian dishes 🌱 . By asking about the pho xao bo/ga to the stuff, the description was different and I expected a different dish: I was a bit disappointed but still good. Note: if you like spicy, feel free to ask for their amazing chilli 🌶️. The summer rolls are good.

Beer garden
European restaurant
Restaurant
Schweizerhaus is a historic beer garden and restaurant with origins dating back to the 19th century. Located in the expansive Prater public gardens near an amusement park, it offers a nostalgic atmosphere and serves up Viennese dishes alongside Czech and Austrian beers. The restaurant is renowned for its famous Schweizerhaus Stelze (pork knuckle) and traditional Wiener Schnitzel.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a traditional beer garden, but this felt exactly right. No extras, no ceremony. You find an open table without a reserved sign and settle in. A server shows up shortly to take your order, and from there it’s all about soaking up the atmosphere. We came for the famous pork knuckle and it was incredible. Crispy skin, tender inside. Honestly one of the best things we ate in Vienna. We also had the mixed salad, sausages with sauerkraut, horseradish, fries, and potatoes. Everything hit the spot. The salad was light and fresh, and the sausage had great flavor. We finished with coffee and a plum ice cream dessert that was surprisingly good. The whole meal was relaxed, easy, and really satisfying. Definitely one of our favorite food experiences on this trip.
Emily G — Google review
Schweizerhaus is a must-visit restaurant in Vienna, especially if you’re at Prater. The atmosphere is lively and traditional, with a huge beer garden that’s perfect for enjoying sunny days. The highlight is definitely the Stelze (crispy roasted pork knuckle) – it’s perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The portions are large, so it’s great for sharing. Their freshly poured beer is also excellent and pairs perfectly with the food. Service is fast and efficient despite the crowds, and the whole place has a very authentic Viennese charm. If you want to experience local food and atmosphere, Schweizerhaus is the place to go!
Korean T — Google review
We walked in without a reservation. When we asked a staff member, we were told to ask another staff member, and this happened twice. I think it’s better to make a reservation in advance. There were only a few staff working and they seemed very busy, so it took some time to place additional orders. However, the wait for food and drinks was not long, and everything was very delicious! We really enjoyed our meal there.
Elina — Google review
Its really good but dont make our mistake and dont order pork knuckle for 1 person its way too much food, the staff dont care for reserved tables and tell us sit where isn’t reserved so its a 10-20 mins searching for a table without reservation sign
Никола Д — Google review
We were happy to have a try tasty pork Nuckel and a variety kinds of beer in a traditional Vienna style here. The pork Nuckel is visually pleasing and delicious, especially for Asian people. I think the atmosphere here is great. The location is good too! You can visit the prater amusement park next door after your meal, after digestion of course. All in all this place deserves recommendations for all kinds of travelers.
早晨的寧檬 — Google review
Everything was perfect. Schweizerhaus special was really big and can easily be for 2-3 persons. We didn't had the reservation but the guy's who work there find as a table, it was crowded a lot. Food was perfect all recommendations if you are visiting Vienna. There is also Prater nearby and paid parking.
Ognjen — Google review
The food was good and it looked exactly like the pictures. But the service was not that great, mostly because the server was overwhelmed by the amount of people, maybe the kitchen as well. We wanted to order more but we got ignored because the server was in a rush. There were a group of young local boys that waited for about 40 minutes to get a pint. Same for a family of 3, 40 mina just to get the order.
Stefan C — Google review
This is a large beer garden in Prater. It has a huge outdoor dining area so even without a reservation you have a good chance at finding an open table to just sit down at and a waiter will come around to you. The service was a bit strange, they were kinda pushy for you to order what they wanted you to order rather than what you asked for and because I’m spineless I relented but with a bit of regret. They also overcharged us but disappeared before I could challenge the receipt and never came back. The food is good though, not great but good. Because their service is just about as sour as their beer I would not recommend this place.

Cafe
Bakery
Aida is a popular cafe located at Singerstrasse 1, near Stephensplatz and St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna. The cafe's pink interior and second level seating with city views make it a must-visit spot for a colorful break. Aida offers an extensive coffee menu with detailed descriptions and pictures to help customers choose their perfect cup. While the cafe may lack some charm, its affordable prices and quick service make it a recommended stop.
Love AIDA. Hope you get lucky and get beautiful “Bernadette” as your Waitress. Fun, and speaks great English. But beware not all locations have the same menu. This location has breakfast all day. The egg dishes included a Scrambled options which comes with a small salad and 2 slices of toast. Cappuccinos were nice and strong. Neighboring tables were enjoying Ice Cream dishes and Cakes, desserts. All of it looked amazing. Crowd outside was good. Busy area. Lots of people watching. Close to Stephan Platz Church. Come here to relax. Highly recommend this particular location. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tomas M — Google review
Centrally located in Vienna town. It claimed to serve the 'best coffee and cakes' but we didn't think so. The fruit smoothy I got was tasteless, felt it was made with water and not juice. Price is reasonable though. Service staff is attentive and got a sense of humour, otherwise I would have rated this a 1-star place.
Dominique C — Google review
Service is too low and too rude. I chose this brunch several times, but still no chance. They are not friendly and the service quality is not high. Despite the service location being great. The view is also awesome. Sweets are fresh and tasty. Especially local applesweet is good here. At least for takeaway, I recommend to try. Other deserts are a bit costly.
Fatima A — Google review
This place is supposed to be a ‘low cost alternative’ to caffès like Cafe Central, Landtman…. However, the price was almost the same as in more iconic places and you even have to pay to go to the toilet despite having consumed in the Café. The coffees were good but de Kaiserschmarrn was nothing highlightable (I’d recommend to taste others like Demel’s as you’ll get better quality and experience)
Ariadna M — Google review
Coffee Aida is a decent café located in a very tourist-friendly area of Vienna, making it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the city. The location is definitely a plus if you’re sightseeing and need a quick coffee break. While the café offers a pleasant atmosphere and good service—the staff are friendly and welcoming—the menu is relatively limited compared to other coffee spots in Vienna. If you’re looking for a wide variety of specialty drinks or artisanal pastries, you might find more exciting options elsewhere in the city. That said, Aida maintains a classic Viennese charm and is a reliable choice for a simple coffee and snack. It’s not the most innovative or diverse café, but it delivers a consistent experience with courteous service. 👍 Good for a quick stop in a tourist zone 👎 Limited menu compared to other Viennese cafés 😊 Friendly staff and clean environment
Fabiano D — Google review
The hot chocolate at Aida in Vienna is absolutely delicious! Rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth, it’s pure indulgence in a cup. The flavor is intense but well balanced, making it one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever tasted. A must-try for any chocolate lover visiting Vienna!
Salvatore P — Google review
A cozy coffee shop with a wonderfully delicious selection of cakes fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the visit. The coffee, however, could be improved in terms of richness and overall quality. Still, the friendly ambiance and great desserts make it a nice spot for a sweet treat.

Sandwich shop
Takeout Restaurant
Buffet Trzesniewski is a popular finger sandwich shop in Vienna that is known for its original retro bar atmosphere and delicious home-made spreads on dark sourdough bread. The prices are very reasonable and the sandwiches are perfect for budget travellers. The service is friendly and the food is yummy. A definite try!
What a fun and novel way to try out local sandwiches, each one is a two biter for me. It’s that small. We tried pickles with eggs, tuna with eggs, bacon with eggs and few other ones I don’t remember. You go up the counter and as soon as they can tell you are a tourist they hand us a photo menu and we pointed to what we wanted, then wait in line to pay. We ended up standing outside table to eat. Fun!!
Jesse L — Google review
Buffet Trzesniewski is one of the most local places I’ve experienced in Vienna. I had never tried such a minimal yet delicious concept anywhere before. Small pieces of bread topped with various spreads, served in a cozy and warm atmosphere. It was absolutely perfect. The salmon and horseradish canapé was definitely my favorite here. I highly recommend trying it.
Mehmet B — Google review
Trześniewski in Vienna is such a unique spot! They serve small, colorful sandwiches in many different flavors — perfect for a quick snack. You can pair them with a tiny beer. My heart was definitely stolen by the herring sandwich. Something truly different and special!
Jowita W — Google review
Trześniewski – A Must-Try Vienna Classic! Trześniewski in Vienna is such a unique and delightful spot! They serve small, open-faced sandwiches on dark rye bread with a variety of flavorful toppings — both vegetarian and non-vegetarian — making it a perfect quick bite between sightseeing stops. At the counter, they hand you a photo menu so it’s easy to choose. We tried several vegetarian options and loved the carrot-pea, pepper cream cheese, tomato, and cream cheese-carrot ones. My husband tried the egg one, which was really good too. The flavors are simple yet surprisingly rich and well-balanced. We visited the Dorotheergasse location, great for people-watching and taking a break from exploring. I loved it so much that I visited again the next day after spotting another branch nearby — it truly felt like a treat I’d manifested twice! There are multiple locations across Vienna, including central spots, train stations, and even the airport. It may look simple, but trust me — this is a must-visit in Vienna. Take a quick snack break here, and these little bites will surprise you with their charm and flavor.
Dory G — Google review
Quality ingredients used for their sandwiches, albeit a little expensive. Space inside is also a little tight, but they do have space overhead for you to place your bags and hang your coats/jackets. Great place for a snack!
Jie T — Google review
You probably would skip this sandwich shop, please don’t, it would surprise you with their various flavors. It took me a while to decide what to have, I eventually went with egg with egg AC, peppadew sweet and hot AGO, truffle egg with ham AC, red peppers AC, perhaps it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had in Vienna. The plus side was it was low price to even have one piece of slice. The place didn’t have a large area to eat, it was have a quick bite kind of shop.
Adrianne C — Google review
Delicious open sandwiches made with the freshest ingredients. Try the herring (matjes) with onions and the paprika. All best washed down with a tiny Pfiff beer. The interior is also beautiful. Thank you, David

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Quirky, Delicious Surprise in the Heart of Vienna Buffet Trześniewski on Dorotheergasse turned out to be one of the best surprises of my recent Vienna trip. I was traveling with a group of German friends, hopping between cafés and soaking in the city’s charm, when we made this unplanned stop — and I’m so glad we did. ⸻ Food & Drinks: This spot is all about small bites — open-faced sandwiches with a variety of unique spreads, toppings, and textures. I was encouraged to try a few, and every single one was fresh, flavorful, and totally different from the next. It’s the kind of food that’s fun to sample, easy to share, and keeps you coming back for just one more. Then there are the tiny beers — yes, the famously small “Pfiff” glasses of beer. Not only are they refreshing, but they add a fun and quirky twist to the whole experience. We ended up ordering a few rounds just because they’re so entertaining. ⸻ Atmosphere: The location on Dorotheergasse is perfect for people-watching and taking a break from sightseeing. The street seating adds a relaxed charm, and the vibe inside is old-school Viennese casual — no frills, just good food and a fun time. Even though the visit was spontaneous, it ended up being one of the highlights of the day. ⸻ Final Thoughts: Buffet Trześniewski is one of those classic Vienna gems that you might walk past if you’re not paying attention — but don’t. Whether you’re with friends, solo, or just need a break between museums and monuments, this place is a must-try. Grab a plate of mini sandwiches, a tiny beer, and enjoy the quirky charm. Easily one of the best stops I made all day.

Cafe
Café Sperl, a historic coffeehouse dating back to 1880, is a quintessential part of Vienna's cafe culture. It was once a popular hangout for artists, writers, and even royalty until the Nazis intervened during their reign. The cafe is famous for its opulent and timeless ambiance that embodies the Austrian concept of gemutlich - warmth, comfort, and familiarity.
I definitely recommend this place for an authentic Viennese experience. You can enjoy the full-day breakfast or the regular dishes. There are tons of coffee specialties. The atmosphere is delightful and the service is nice. Make sure you check out opening times as they tend to be closed on Sundays during the summer time. Please enjoy the beautiful seating area inside as they have never changed it since the day they opened.

The true Viennese atmosphere is here. For a coffee or a breakfast all day is good. Recommend this place 100%. You have to walk a bit outside the city centre but it’s worth it. Reasonable price and good food. Coffee is very good. Better to book a table, queue is often but it moves quick.

Absolutely brilliant experience. I came here from a review to enjoy "classic Vienna cafe experience". And I think I got exactly that! The place was nice, with the furniture and layout feeling very authentic. Around us were local people. Having their morning coffee and reading newspaper. The coffee, pastry and egg sausage were all great. Highly recommend the Sperl chocolate cake! We went there at around 9AM, and no wait time needed however around 30' later there was already a waiting line formed. Highly recommend this place!

Though located slightly further from city center, the price per portion was much better than some of the other cafes. Staff was also very friendly, and gave us the choice of where to sit, instead of immediately deciding for us. The weiner schnitzel was succulent and wasn't too filling, which was great, as it allowed room for a cup of coffee and dessert. The included potato salad is my personal favorite from all the restaurants I've eaten - there isn't as much acidity, and much "smoother" to eat. It's so good that I could eat just the salad as a main dish. The apple strudel was also excellent. Instead of apple chunks, the pie was layered with thin apple slices. The sourness of the apples combined with the whipped cream were a perfect match. Despite my short stay in Vienna, this is definitely my go to place the next time I return.

I really wanted to try one of the traditional cafes in Vienna, and this is the one we chose. It was really nice in the inside, probably with the same decor since when it opened, but it had a lot of charm. The Sperl Torte was really delicious and both coffees were great too. Service was very good and slow, as expected. :-) I can imagine the "slow living" they are famous for.

I’ve been cafe-hopping around Vienna, and Cafe Sperl truly stands out — the food quality here is far more delicious than many other popular spots. Tucked away in a quaint corner, it feels like a hidden gem beloved by locals. I didn’t bump into any other tourists during my visit. The staff are lovely, and the place exudes a peaceful old-world charm and timeless elegance. I wish I lived in Vienna so I could come back more often. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — and as a bonus, it’s one of the filming locations from Before Sunrise, which adds a touch of movie magic to the visit!

Nestled next to the St. Laurenz Church in Schottenfeld, Berliner Döner is a delightful little snack bar that feels like a slice of heaven for food lovers. This bustling spot, though compact at just ten square meters, boasts an efficient team of four or five staff members who work seamlessly together to serve up delicious Turkish doner kebabs and Arabic falafels. Open late into the night, it attracts a diverse crowd, particularly popular among German students.
Very tasty, loved it. I had the mixed meat option and it was perfect, not “heavy” flavored just right Also the prices seemed fair. It is a good changed from the traditional food you can find in Vienna 😄
M. T — Google review
It tasted good, but not like a Berlin döner! Sandwich bread was all wrong, and there was some crazy thousand Island type dressing and no garlic sauce. Line moved fast, and there are a few outside tables if you are not taking it to go. Big sandwich for a regular size. Nice service.

Food was amazing, tasty and fresh, except the salad, which wasn't that crispy as I expected; waiter was really nice and friendly. The interior looked poor according to my view, but it is not so important when dishes are great )))

Stopped by a quick bite at the Berliner Döner. The staff was awesome, friendly & accommodating of our customizations. Spice, cheese, sauces were all generously added to this already generous portion of a delicious sandwich. Chicken döner had nice juicy and flavorful chicken. Falafels were good but heavy for the sandwich which made the sandwich fall apart in no time. Worth the price & definitely worth the bite! There's minimal seating near the stand. Also an elaborate restaurant by the same folks on the other side of the road.

The chinese restaurant Tofu und Chili is a hidden gem in Vienna. The noodles and the vegetarian dishes are simply delicious, and the team is friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant has both English and German menus available.
Authentic Chinese Food- The food arrives very quickly, and the dishes are truly authentic Chinese. We had the Sichuan-style eggplant (definitely order rice with it – 10/10!) and the hand-pulled vegetarian noodles, both absolutely delicious. Portions are large, but the restaurant is quite small and narrow. We were lucky to get a table spontaneously in the afternoon, but be prepared to wait for a seat during busy hours.

We got crispy duck noodle with red coconut sauce because the waiter told us the sauce is not too spicy just mild. But it was extremely hot, brought tears literally. Otherwise, the food was nice but we wish we could enjoy it thoroughly in a better mood. The space is small with a few tables. Since we arrived about 2pm we didn't wait for a table but even then the place was packed

Textures of noodles are very good, fresh. The sauce could use some work. All three of my dishes ended up tasting pretty similar - just this generic vinegar-soy sauce taste. I ordered the cold skin noodles, the oil over biangbiang noodles and the pigs ears. Ingredients are fine, but they need to do some work with the sauce.

Hamburger restaurant
Swing Kitchen is a fast-food chain that was established in 2015 by Irene and Charly Schillinger. It offers a completely vegan menu with classic items such as burgers, nuggets, and wraps. The quality of the food is consistently average, typical of fast-food chains, but it has gained significant popularity. With five locations in Vienna and four others in Graz, Berlin, and Bern, Swing Kitchen's concept of accessible and quick vegan cuisine has been well-received.
Absolutely loved this vegan burger spot! The food was flavorful and satisfying — especially the chicken nuggets, which tasted unbelievably real. The burgers were juicy and well-seasoned. The service was warm, friendly, and made the experience even better. Plus, the soda fountain had an amazing variety of drinks. Great vibes, great food — highly recommend! For vegans, non vegans and halal eaters.

changed menu, no old good vienna burger, different Pommes Frites (sliced fatty potato) New menu, even with Schnitzel instead of Patty has different taste. Pommes is thin chips, too fatty. Pitty, what happened with on of best vegan burger. now with some strange bacon taste, even if there is no bacon in it. Bread is also different, more plastic taste, like cheap white bread. Time to search for alternatives. No more swing burger. First time ever we could not eat it. Half of it left. Pitty. We ordered combo (burger with Pommes and cola), as usual. Big disappoinment What happened with best vegan burger in Europe? We used to be "Stammgast" here, since they opened their first local, I think it was in 1070, close to Zieglergasse subway station. Now some 10, 12 years ago it is gone with wind. Because of stakeholders? higher margin?

So good and so filling! Went for a vegan bacon burger with coleslaw and it was great. Coleslaw portions are quite large though so I couldn't finish it all, perhaps order just one to share if you have a companion. The place is also quite small, nothing mindblowing but cute nonetheless. Vegan restaurants are always very much appreciated!

Maybe the worst burger I’ve ever had in my life. I honestly regret giving it to my children. The taste was worse than McDonald’s, and the quality of the meat was extremely poor. I was supposed to be eating beef, but I have no idea what kind of burger that really was — the quality was terrible, and I ended up with stomach pain afterward. My daughter’s burger even came burned. I honestly don’t understand why the ratings here are so high.

Restaurant
Pizzeria Mafiosi is a relaxed and down-home Italian restaurant with a terrace. It offers typical Italian cuisine at very affordable prices, and the topping selection is impressive. The restaurant is popular with students in Vienna, and the pizza and lasagna are highly recommended.
Fantastic pizza, relaxed atmosphere. A place to come if you want great wine (one variety) and excellent pizza! You can only pay with cash.
Vanja K — Google review
Very unusual place and very cheap but for a reason. There was no greeting on entering just wordless gesture to an empty table. Menu offers beer on tap but in reality only one style of bottled beer is available (should have noticed there are no taps at the bar anyway!). I had spaghetti carbonara and asked for some cheese topping but was told they had no cheese/parmesan. Confused how they managed to make a carbonara without… was watery/salty double cream. My partner had a pizza which somehow didn’t taste of anything at all. Cash only but had no change? If you just want calories for cheap then go for it otherwise I’d avoid.
Kimberley N — Google review
The lokal is small and beautiful, the staff are very friendly and the price of the pizza was really unbelievable.
Sabooreh Z — Google review
Known for being the cheapest, not the best. A Margherita is only €6.40, which is great after a night out or if you’re short on cash 💰. Taste-wise, though, it’s more garlic bread with cheese than true Neapolitan pizza. Good for the price, but there are much better pizzas in the city.

I'd recommend up anyone willing to travel a bit from the city center.

Absolutely delicious pizza for a price that takes you back to the times before inflation hit 😍 Gigantic pizza that was bigger than the already big plate itself, a cozy and rustic atmosphere, what more could you want? I spent a total of 11,30€ there including a 0.5L Himbeersoda! The staff was attentive and kind, there was little to no wait time, and there was nice music playing the whole time! Where else can you get such a good deal? Its definitely a local treasure, nestled between a tiny street that looks straight out of a movie scene, so if you find yourself stumbling around the 15th district and hungry for some good food, you know where to go!

Leberkas-Pepi is an authentic Austrian sandwich shop located just a minute away from the Opera House in Vienna. It's a perfect spot to experience traditional Austrian cuisine without breaking the bank. The restaurant offers Leberkas, a classic Austrian meat loaf served in bread, which is simple, delicious, and affordable. The food court at the central station houses this down-to-earth eatery where you can enjoy local specialties like chili cheese Leberkas with beer.
Whenever I visit Austria, my first meal is two Leberkassemmeln by Pepi. I land at Schwechat, take the quick train to HBF and enjoy my fix of Austrian goodness. After that my trips continue to visit family. The service is quick and efficient. The two ladies have a good system that allows serving people quickly. The Leberkas itself is delicious with plenty of variety. I always look forward to my first meal back in the country.

At last, before leaving Vienna, at the train station I managed to try the local leberkas which is a sandwich with specific bun and a thick slice of meatloaf. It tasted very good. Tried the spicy variant and the horse meat variant. The original tasted the best. As we arrived early, there were ample seats. A must try when at the Vienna station
Francis H — Google review
Fine option if you find yourself at the main train station short of time and you don't want to eat a burger from a big fast food chain. The leberkäse was tasty, potato salad a bit too sour for me but okay. Can be recommended for a quick meal before a ride.
Vojtěch N — Google review
I was not aware of this and I am so glad I followed the herd of locals for a great lunch on a busy cold day. I am in no way an Austrian and ignorant to a lot of what is just a common everyday thing. So having had my fill of museums, architecture and statues; I needed refreshments. I am aware that bread products are very popular but I am not good at carbs. I could have had the American franchise foods but why spend many hours on a plane for a burger. I noticed that in a mini food hall this store had a lineup so like a lemming I joined the line, for what I had no idea. I looked at those already seated and saw a meat in a roll being washed down with a lager. I didn’t know the meat but on the board of choices and went with a kase (cheese) version. Now you will need to pay with cash but the meal is produced with a factory like efficiency by a quick worker doing the work of a saint- feeding the tired to pick them up. It was so popular that when there was little room for diners people sat with strangers to enjoy this soft warm sandwich(?). It was reasonably priced, delicious and a revelation.
James N — Google review
I really didn’t expect such a great burger place inside the station, but this one’s REAL!!! The chilly and cheese burger is just amazing. The ham is soooo savory and soft, and their sauce is really good, too. A perfect pair with beer!!!

Amazing! Always thought this was like a fastfood-Leberkäse place with mediocre quality, until I finally tried it. Just as good as at your local butcher shop and wide range of Leberkäs - with classic, horsemeat and even vegan options.

Restaurant
Figlmüller Bäckerstraße is a historic restaurant that has been serving classic Viennese cuisine for over a century. It is renowned as the birthplace of the schnitzel, with its specialty being a large pork schnitzel covered in crispy breadcrumbs and served with lemon, potato salad, and a side salad. The restaurant's traditional ambiance includes wood paneling, exposed bricks, and vintage black and white attired wait staff known for exceptional service.
My husband booked this restaurant as soon as we booked the flight to Vienna. I saw many people have been waiting outside, so I’d recommend to book it before. The schnitzel was amazing! The size was so big. They’re both great with pork and veal. But if you’d like to try the original one, I’d recommend the pork schnitzel. The service was spectacular. I don’t remember the name of the gentleman who serviced us, but he’s been amazing. So kind and very service-minded, also very helpful for choosing the wine. We love this place. The food, of course. But the service really made it better.
Chompoonuth W — Google review
I’m giving this 3 out of 5. The food was great, don’t get me wrong. But a 45 minute wait, the food was on our table 5 minutes after ordering. It felt like an anti climax. To find out the main is quite expensive and literally comes with nothing else on the plate. Sides are all extra. Had the fries, which were mostly batter and very little potato. The salad wasn’t bad though. With a good mix of veg. There are better restaurants to visit where you’ll have a better atmosphere and not have to queue for a ridiculous amount of time. My bill came to about €74. Two mains, two beers and two sides.

Tonight, I ordered marinated fried chicken and fried pork chops! The tomato salad was delicious! The drinks were also good, but unfortunately, the food was too coated with flour and the meat was fried too thinly. The ingredients were fresh, and the atmosphere and the waiters were very friendly!
SOFIA C — Google review
Great experience! We had the schnitzel, spinach dumplings, potato salad, and the kaiserschmarrn. We loved everything! The schnitzel is MASSIVE. And if I went again, I maybe wouldn’t order the spinach dumplings?? Though they were absolutely tasty! Kaiserschmarrn is a must though, so save room. I would recommend a reservation though, even on a week night!
Olivia H — Google review
Overrated and overpriced. The food is nothing special — I’ve had better chicken schnitzels in Vienna for half the price. Actually they don’t have chicken schnitzel. I asked twice if the cordon blue was similar to the schnitzel but waiter insisted its like nugget so we ordered both beef and cordon blue. Beef schnitzel (€27) was disappointing, chicken cordon bleu (€21.5) tasted like a regular café meal. Maybe original pork schnitzel is good. Also they don’t give you water for free :) The potato salad was tasty but again overhyped. The younger staff were polite, but the older waiters were dismissive and condescending. If you still want to come, make a reservation at least a week in advance and please don’t waste your time waiting in line. I wish I hadn’t gone; I wish we weren’t such slaves to pop culture. I won’t be going back. It was not worth it.
Ecren H — Google review
Food was pretty okay, wouldn't shout much about the Schnitzel but the only outstanding thing, was the size. It was really huge and could feed two. I loved the potato salad and the fries, they were amazing. Overall I don't feel welcomed, regardless of race. We didn't tip during billing because of how we didn't enjoy the service. It would have been perfect if the service was good, because we will definitely top it up with a tip and that wouldn't end up with our receipt being thrown on the table.
Cindy W — Google review
The restaurant was packed so advanced reservations is highly recommended. Upon entering, you feel a sense of warmth and welcome. We were led to our seats on the second floor. Seats were tight but everyone was there for the same reason: The figmuller schnitzel. This plus the potato salad, lingonberry jam and a radler (would skip because it’s bottled). The schnitzel was crispy at the top and juicy in the middle. The jam was the closer. It was the best jam I had it was addicting. The potato salad was also next level. It was an explosion of flavors that I never had before.
Tiffany C — Google review
The place is okay, not fancy or anything, but not bad either. The food is pretty good and the portions are big, so you won’t leave hungry. The main dish everyone talks about is tasty, but honestly, the other stuff is just normal, nothing too special. The staff is nice and tries to help, so that’s good, but sometimes it feels like you pay a lot for what you get. Like, a bottle of water or bread costs way more than I expected. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed, so it’s fine for hanging out or having a casual meal. Nothing really bad, nothing really amazing either. It’s just… okay. If you want to try it, it’s fine, but don’t expect anything super fancy or mind-blowing. Overall, it’s just a normal place with good food and nice people, even if some things are a bit pricey.

Austrian restaurant
Schnitzel Wirt is a long-standing Austrian restaurant in Vienna, known for its cozy atmosphere and wide variety of schnitzel dishes. For over 35 years, this quintessentially Austrian joint has been serving traditional wiener schnitzel, with around 15 different variations to choose from. The restaurant's signature dish, the veal wiener schnitzel, comes in various creative forms such as the schnitzel a la Mexico, stuffed with paprika, mushrooms and ham.
The restaurant had a long line, but the staff were incredibly organized in seating guests, so even if you see a queue, it's definitely worth waiting! The staff could communicate in English and were all very friendly and welcoming. We were seated at a large round table at the very back of the indoor area, where we shared the table with a lovely Swiss couple—wishing them a pleasant meal and a safe journey. The restaurant also had clean, bright restrooms available for use. The food was absolutely delicious. My companion said it was the most unforgettable traditional dish she’s ever had, and I was genuinely impressed by the salad—the seasoning and texture of the potatoes were flawless. The space was clean, the décor charmingly classical, and overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

This place was great. Classic atmosphere. It feels like you’re traveling into the past with how everything looks. Servers are DIRECT and very very busy. It’s a popular spot. So have patience and don’t get offended. I wanted schnitzel, but I also didn’t want it to be too dry for me, so I had the bolognese version. It was very very tasty. I honestly wished that I had their schnitzel throughout our trip in Austria as some were just a bit too dry compared to this place. Also, Ed Sheeran. This was recommended to us by our server from lolo and Lola named daisy. She’s awesome.

Food was delicious and served in extremely large portions. Most of the patrons from what I saw couldn't finish their two slices of schnitzel. The price for that big a portion is definitely worth it. The potato salad and cucumber slices were refreshing and was a life saver when tackling those large pieces of meat. 😆 Unfortunately, because of the constant deep frying, the room is filled with oil smell, which might be off putting for some people. Also, there aren't too many seats, so might have to share a table with someone else - just a heads up in case that's an issue.

It’s about the service and the experience. The waiter has character and lends to the ambiance. Be late and be prepared for a line outside the place. The food is great Viennese, the value is great. But you never know when you gonna bump into a celebrity popping in. Give it a visit. It’s worth the wait.
Malcolm J — Google review
We didn’t have a reservation and had to wait in line at the entrance. They let people in order. The place is quite spacious, with large tables. A very energetic gentleman did the presentations; they were fast, efficient, and friendly. Compared to other places, the price-performance ratio was much better, and it was close to a must-see street. I recommend it. It’s not a place to sit for too long, because there are people waiting outside.
Gonca Y — Google review
Went here searching for the traditional veal schnitzel, turns out it's not available here. Ate the turkey schnitzel, with the thin breading that is not the crispy typed one as i think it contains egg, also thick turkey with flavors that indulged in beautifully! Salad was just okay, it's part of the package, but if you want to choose another type of salad, you can order separately. There will be a long queue, so it's somewhat better for late lunch or early dinner (fewer people in the line)
Aulia A — Google review
Everything’s perfect about the restaurant: the food, the service, the ambiance. I tried my first schnitzel here and even though I don’t like meat in general, it was good with cabbage salad and my favorite cranberry souce. The ambiance was very cozy and warm and joyful and lively. It brought me very comfortable feelings. Would love to come back again. Prices are reasonable, food portions are huge. We didn’t have to stand in line but I guess we were lucky.

Not coming here again.. EVER ! You can get a MUCH better dining experience, taste AND service at a Wusterlstand anywhere in Vienna.. Better to eat outside if you’re visiting in summer because the inside doesn’t have air conditioning and can get stuffy.. You will have to wait for a bit, get your name in the waitlist as it is mos def tourist and insta hotspot… Ordered the no. 1 item on the menu i.e. the Schnitzel… underwhelming… The schnitzel came quickly but the server was something else… asked for cutlery that came by the time the schnitzel was cold… The schnitzel was flavorless and didn’t taste as much as the hype around this place was… completely underwhelming.. Asked for ketchup so many times that the people sitting behind me took pity and gave us theirs… Asked for soft drinks, which came but again asked the server to open them… after multiple tries and requests, used the edge of the table to pop them open myself… NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL AND NEVER COMING BACK.. Maybe this IS how it’s supposed to be …

Glacis Beisl is a modern Austrian bistro located in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier, offering classic and innovative Viennese cuisine. The restaurant features an intimate atmosphere with a plant-filled garden, providing a stylish and sun-drenched outdoor space shaded by walnut trees.
Where to begin? We made a reservation the day before for a Saturday night and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was 10/10, as was the friendly service, and that’s before we even received any food. I had the schnitzel with potato salad which was excellent and flavoursome and my mate had the veal, which was lovely and smoky with a delicious Brussels sprout and bacon side. I followed it up with the apricot pancakes, though I could probably have done with one and shared the other. The beer was excellent and the meal was good value all in all (€50pp inc drinks, 2 courses and a tip). An experience I’d highly recommend for your visit to Vienna.

This place has a fantastic setup, with plenty of seating both inside and out. But the real star is the outside area; it's super cute and green, absolutely perfect for enjoying a meal when the weather's good. The staff here are also a plus; they're friendly and genuinely welcoming. The food was good overall. I've had slightly better elsewhere, but it definitely hit the spot. It's the kind of place I'd happily bring family visiting from out of town. The combination of the great ambiance, friendly service, and solid food makes it an easy recommendation for a pleasant dining experience.

Food was quite good. The jam was very good, and the schnitzel wasnt dry or oily. Trout had a lot of dill, but i like dill. The beetroot salad was good, but not worth the price. The most suprising thing was the really nice interior ambiance when i was expecting more of a beer garden feel.

Absolutely gorgeous dining experience either as a solo dinner or with a large group. I had the Potato and Leek soup for an entree, which was wonderful and creamy, and very well complimented by the mushrooms (which you may ask to be removed if needed). For my main, I had a Viennese style of Goulash, which is a lot meatier and spicier than the Hungarian style (which is a soup). It was lovely, the servings are large to make up for the price. And absolutely beautiful terrace area, although quite busy, would reccomend reserving a table or two.

A lovely experience for some real Vienna food. High recommend the original schnitzel. It was so delightful with the accompanying sauce. Great service was quality recommendations as well.

A hidden gem! The place looks great — modern, stylish, but still cozy and welcoming. The vibe was amazing, relaxed yet full of life. The waiter joked around with us and made it all feel natural and fun. The food was really good, the drinks even better. We sat at the high table and ended up talking with people we’d never met before — one of those nights that just feels right. Loved it.
Dror L — Google review
Our favourite dinner in Vienna. Julia, our server, was fantastic. We started with the bacon wrapped goat cheese, 10/10. The boiled beef and goulash were incredible as our mains, but the potato pancakes were the absolute highlight. We finished with Hungarian dumplings that were delicious. Definitely recommend.
Melissa M — Google review
The place doesn’t look chic and stylish as you’d expect, the tables are old and worn and there’s no tablecloth. Also, only the last two pages of the menù are in English: what if I want to order something else? I can’t because I don’t know German? Service and dishes were pretty good. We ate pierogi, which were fantastic, and goulash, which was a little dry and too salty, but good. Also the side salad was fantastic. The waiter was always smiley. The girl at the entrance, the opposite. Happy to have found it randomly tho ☺️ It’s quite expensive.

NENI am Naschmarkt is a vibrant restaurant located in Vienna's historic Naschmarkt, known for its Turkish and Middle-Eastern produce market. This chic venue offers outdoor dining and is owned by an Israeli-Austrian family. Since its opening in 2009, Neni has become an institution at the market, serving breakfast dishes inspired by the Middle East such as shakshuka and Israeli breakfast.
This place doesn’t look special, like any other cafe in the Naschmarket, but the food was superb. I had the French toast with fresh berry compote. We also had pancakes which were great. One of our party had the granola with yogurt. I highly recommend that his place. Worth a visit.

Good food but nothing more, haven’t felt that special something. Not very large portions, but was enough to feel fed, at least for some time. Good service and nice atmosphere. Recommend to eat there, but bring cash, they don’t accept credit or debit cards 🤭

Some new flavor that we've never ever tried before. All dishes we choose is good to very good. We really like the knafeh dessert, which is very complex, different textures.

Really delicious and generous portions. The fries are home made and tasty. Spiced chicken was delicious. Pastrami sandwich really good too.
Shirley L — Google review
Neni used to be one of our favorite places cozy atmosphere, delicious breakfasts, and lots of fond memories. We often came here with my family and celebrated birthdays. Our absolute favorite was the pancakes with salted caramel, cream sauce, pecans, sesame seeds, and blueberries we had them regularly for over two years. But this time everything was ruined. The dish arrived without pecans or blueberries, served on cheap-looking tableware. After we pointed it out, the waiter brought the missing ingredients in a single sauce dish — clearly not enough for two portions. It felt like we were being tricked, and if we hadn’t known what the dish was supposed to look like, we might not have noticed at all. My daughter was especially disappointed, this place had sentimental value for her. It’s really sad to see the quality and attention to detail decline so much. Unfortunately, we no longer feel like coming back.

We enjoyed a tasty dinner at NENI. Our server named Give was amazing. Food arrived fast after ordering, portions were quite large. There were several vegetarian options on the menu. I recommend making a table reservation in advance. I would appreciate if they accepted card payment and not just cash. The chairs were quite uncomfortable, I recommend buying some pillows or smaller cushions and place them on the chairs for a more pleasant experience. We will be back next time we visit Vienna!

This is one of the authentic middle Eastern cuisine spot. We tried falafel, aubergine steak, Kunafa with yoghurt ice cream is worth trying. It balance the flavours. Highly recommended. Its cash only and ATM is located at 50m from the entry.

This was a nice Mediterranean restaurant. The service was great. Lots of staff members around and all seem to be helpful . The food quality was on point. The apps all great with the humus stealing the show for us. The main dishes did not disappoint and came out pretty fast. Try the Kunafeh but I would ask for it without the topping as it the flavors did not mix well with lemon yogurt or whatever that was. Majority of the seating is outside and they do have some shade areas but in the heat it did not help much and there is no air conditioning inside the restaurant. Overall food was great and recommend this place if you are visiting.

When visiting Vienna, experiencing the local food scene is a must, and Bitzinger Sausage Stand is a standout choice for authentic street food. Located near the Albertina Museum, this iconic wurstelstand offers a variety of sausages, with the cheese-stuffed option being a favorite among visitors. Whether enjoyed on a plate or in hot dog style with ketchup, these sausages are a popular choice for locals and tourists alike.
No English menu!! I combed through reviews and ordered the first two things on the menu - the one with cheese is great! And that's the without buns version which I prefer, if you want bun order from the second section "hotdogs". No bun version still comes through brown bread slice FYI. The sausages were perfectly grilled, very happy to have tried this!

💯 This place worth the hype it gets on social media for sure. The wait is not so frustrating because they work super fast and in less than 10 minutes, you’ll have your food. The food taste is also perfect. I tried smoked wurst and the one with cheese inside and both were really tasty. The only thing that can be bothering is that they don’t have english menu.
Behnam — Google review
I know it is just a small stand that sells sausage. I know there is no seating area and the line can get long, you might wait over 30 minutes. But I am telling you, it is absolutely worth the wait and the hype. The baguette might look like too much bread at first, but it was the softest and fluffiest bread I have ever had. It actually made the sausage taste even better. I definitely recommend this place.
Shirin M — Google review
The sausages here are amazing, worth getting through the abrupt service. The person managing our order forgot to give us a drink and we stood there waiting. He got on his phone to chat and then kept asking what else we wanted while getting us more brown bread. It took a few slices of bread to get the radler we ordered, all while he was frustrated with us. This doesn’t outweigh how good the sausages are. I will continue to visit this stand when I am in Vienna because it really is so delicious.
Jessica G — Google review
The sausages are awesome! I took the one with the cheese and the spicy one. The cheesy one is so juicy and and spicy one has a great aftertaste 🌶️ The line is long, that’s a bit unnecessary as they can make things more efficient 🙏

Just another bratwurst sausage. The sausage server sang a bit of rap for some reason, quite a queue but went down quickly. Very popular with people visiting Vienna
Gary N — Google review
Try the sausages. Really. Just once. Don’t skip a classic Vienna food stop just because it’s staffed by trolls. I’m joking. Kind of. The first time we went, I figured the guy was just tired. Maybe a rough dinner rush. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then we came back the next night and nope. Same guys, same faces that looked personally offended we dared to order food. These aren’t bad days. This is their whole personality. We got the spicy sausage and the cheese sausage. Both were great. But as we were leaving, we almost witnessed a full-on fight between a local and one of the trolls. If the locals are over it, you know it’s not just you. Sausages are worth it. Just don’t expect a smile.
Emily G — Google review
A rather popular street Viennese sausage stand but queue move along very briskly. I had a sausage & sauerkraut. The sausage was a little salty for me as I ate more & probably would go better with bread. The sauerkraut though is lovely. Look spicy but not.

Located just 15 minutes off the beaten track, it is one of the oldest taverns in the city. Outstanding service, great food - we really enjoyed our time here. Well recommended if you are after some traditional Austrian specialties. Nice choice of beers too. Price/quality ratio much better than the restaurants in the more touristy central part. We were seated in the underground Keller and it was very nice, well air conditioned and nicely lit. I really can't commend the service enough - the team that served us was amazing.

This place was recommended by our hotel, so we made a reservation in advance to try the schnitzel. The atmosphere was cozy and had an authentic Austrian feel, which we really appreciated—it felt very local. However, the restaurant was quite warm inside, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. We started with soup, but the only options available contained beef. We weren’t thrilled with the choices but decided to try one. It was a clear broth with sliced crepe, but unfortunately, the taste was underwhelming. The veal schnitzel, on the other hand, was very good—crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. It came with a potato salad on the side. In hindsight, we should’ve ordered just one to share, as it was more than enough. Bread was served promptly after we placed our order, and the staff were professional and courteous throughout. Overall, a decent experience with a great schnitzel, but a few things could’ve been better.
Wessam N — Google review
We went for a late lunch, it was pretty hot, but outdoor seating was still pretty full, I guess locals like it here. We ordered roasted liver and sausage. The smoked sausage is a bit too salty to my taste. Roasted beef is very good, tender and flavorful. The potato isn't that good though, too soft with no tastes. Overall, I am happy with our food, but not 5 stars happy.

Flawless veal schnitzel. The knife would cut through it very easily. Very tastefull and we had some local beer. They were all booked and were nice enough to acomodate us. We were 7 people something not very comon in europe or easy to acomodate. A bit expensive tho.

We ordered goulash and slow-cooked beef. Overall, it was good, but the food was not heated enough — it lacked warmth. The service was polite. In general, everything was fine, but in my opinion, the restaurant is quite dimly lit, which makes it difficult to read the menu.

Great Austrian food and style. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The snitzel was huge. The mushroom prosciuto home made Tagliatele were also very good. (Some of the mushrooms were brown, I am not entirely sure that is their color as they were supposed to be a more gold yellow. )

The bill was a little over 80€ for two people. I had the deer schnitzel with pumpkin as my main and bone marrow as an appetiser. The deer schnitzel was a bit tough, but the pumpkin was delicious. The bone marrow was good, though it didn’t fall off the bone too easily. The garlic that came with the bone marrow was incredibly salty even when used sparingly

Excellent restaurant, located in a cozy and quiet place. Inside it is very cozy and comfortable. It is nice to spend time with friends. However, it is also very good alone. Attention to visitors is constant, no one waits for the waiter to come.

A nice restaurant with good food. The garlic soup was perfect. We took a wheelbarrow of food for four people; the dish turned out to be too large for four. Delicious pork chops and grilled meat, good fries, and various varieties of dumplings. I recommend this place, both the food and the service.

Came here at opening hours, so I got a window seat. The interior was decorated with beer signs and lots of miniature beer truck toys (according to the owner, roughly 4000!). There's a very rustic and cozy feel to the place, making the place warm and comfortable on cold days. The owner and staff were extremely friendly, recommended some menu items, and they regularly came to check on us to see if everything was fine. The food was delicious and served in a large portion. The weiner schnitzel breading was light, so one wouldn't be sick of eating such a large portion. The potato side dish with acidity from shallots were a great compliment to the main dish. Unfortunately we were already full, so we didn't get a chance to sample the desserts. Definitely worth a visit to relax and enjoy a nice meal!

Dined alone here on 12/11/25. Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile & shown to my table. The decor was a mixture of 'vintage' and 'classic', with the occasional measurement pun, a nod to the restaurants name. The service was swift, and all staff polite & friendly, providing me with English menus, and my first drink within a few minutes. I waited for 12 minutes for my food, a perfectly acceptable wait time for Goulash. And it was well worth the ~€17 that I paid for it. Excellent beef, sauce & dumplings. The chocolate cake dessert was a fantastic addition to my order, too. All food, service and atmosphere absolutely 10/10.

Holy...this place is simply amazing! We came here two days in a row, tried 3-4 dishes and every single one of them was fantastic. The ribs are something you absolutly have to try. The service was very quick and the food came out fast as well. You might want to make a reservation, but even when we came without one we didnt wait more than 10-15min.

During our journey in Vienna we choose this restaurant for two times 😊 We ordered chicken schnitzel, along with the local potato salad. The schnitzel is so crispy and well fried and besides, it spouses well with the salad. Be mindful of the schnitzel size, as it's really big! By request, the restaurant also gives you free mayonnaise/ketchup and if you want some water to drink along, just ask for tap water. Staff was so welcoming and nice, the even gave us the English version of the menu. If you're on a budget and you want to try local cuisine, We totally recommend to come here 🌟 Prost! 🍻

We had breakfast here and absolutely loved it! The café is big and cozy, with a warm and welcoming vibe. It was quite busy since it was the weekend—they mentioned that reservations are usually needed, but we were lucky to grab a small table. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Everything we ordered was delicious 😋. Highly recommend trying the smashed avocado with poached eggs — it’s a must!

We had breakfast at Ulrich. Overall, the food was okay but didn’t fully meet my expectations. The “Big Tasty” breakfast option was good and cooked perfectly, but unfortunately it was very salty—perhaps just an off day in the kitchen. The shakshuka was over-spiced for my taste. On the positive side, the croissant was very tasty and fresh, and the avocado bread was excellent. I’d consider coming back to try other dishes, but this visit was a bit mixed.

Very nice and cozy place with polite staff. I liked all the food, except for the Venetian meat stew, which wasn't particularly tasty. I expected something more like a goulash taste, but it wasn’t quite that level. Everything else was excellent. Also missed some dark beer.

I cannot wait for time, when people could not smoke outside, when sitting in a restaurant. What is the worst than you sit inside to avoid the people sitting outside and smoking next to you, however, it is summer and windows are open, so the smoke comes inside. The food was really tasty. This small five-table diner is popular for takeaway food, providing an affordable lunch option starting from 7 EUR. While the food quality is generally good, some customers have experienced slightly long waits and lukewarm dishes.
Family run business with live show cooking of also some traditional Austrian dishes. Was very good and served in a home made style on carton plates and boxes. Very friendly owner taking care of the diners. If you look for a traditional austrian food place without too many fringes in an industrial style setting then this restaurant will be nice for you. Prices or not expensive for Vienna and you will have eaten enough normally. Accessible to wherlchair users allthough you eat at high tables with bar stools.

I had their signature dish. It was very tasty, the pork was tender and luscious, the dumplings were good and homey, the cabbage was much needed to cut through all richness of the pork. Could have used more acid to cut through, but if you got the perfect stack bite of cabbage, pork, and dumpling there was magic to be tasted.

Good food, good portions (the bowls are larger than they look) and reasonably priced. But I would call this more of a cafe than a restaurant as there's just a few high tables squeezed in and it's not really a restaurant if you are served in cardboard bowls. Bathroom decor is really 'out there' and might not be to everyone's taste. Service is friendly enough, but they forgot part of our order which we had to ask about - at least we were gifted a free soup to say sorry which was nice.

Delicious, hearty Viennese food in a casual, unfussy setting. The staff were wonderfully friendly—happy to help in English and patient in understanding us. A great spot for authentic flavours without the formality. Pictured: large roast pork with crackling and Viennese fried chicken salad

We had the schnitzel trio which was a great introduction to schnitzel. I couldn’t really tell what is what protein but all of them were good. The potato salad was great. The roast pork with dumplings were my favorites from the potato dumplings to the pork it was so juicy, flavorful and tender.

Cafe
Café Prückel is a classic Viennese coffeehouse located in the city center, offering a traditional yet stylish ambiance. The interior boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and mirror panels overlooking the Ringstrasse. Renovated in 1955 by architect Oswald Haerdtl, it combines midcentury charm with original Art Nouveau details. Established in the early 1900s, it exudes a 50s flair after a subsequent refurbishment.
The food was delicious and beautifully served! Our order came very fast and our waiter was very nice. Recommend 100% to anyone who wants a delicious schnitzel. There’s also vegetarian options that were delicious too.

A great place when staying close to city centre: quick service and tasty food made my day and day of my colleagues. The time was after 17, still not overcrowded but better to book upfront when considering to stay there for the later dinner as most of the tables were booked. Thanks to waiters!

One of the famous cafes in Vienna This place is awesome, big enough for you not to wait to get in, The food is absolutely delicious. We took the classic Viennese breakfast and bacon & eggs WOW! super tasty, really recommend! You should visit there when you gonna be in Vienna.

The apple strudel is out of this world! The layers of apple and thin crust are baked to perfection. The plum dumpling an absolute delicious and well worth the 15 minute wait. The café is large but bustling and full. Clearly well loved by the public. We learnt about the café from a friend who used to frequent the café. Very grateful for the recommendation.

Lovely coffee house, a unique mix of old school furniture and flair combined with light filled rooms with high ceilings, lovely vibe. Ample outside seating as well, inside you can also find the numerous newspapers to browse. Super nice Topfenstrudel, very Topfen forward. Coffee is available in decaf as well, and waiters are quite quick and friendly, some more than others but I felt well cared for. I also liked the cups and plates in Prückel design.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A Perfect Introduction to Vienna’s Coffeehouse Culture Café Prückel was the first stop on a coffeehouse tour my friends and I took through Vienna with a local guide — and what an introduction it was. Located right in the heart of the city, this café delivered the perfect mix of charm, history, and warm hospitality that defines the traditional Viennese coffeehouse experience. ⸻ Atmosphere: Café Prückel has a classic, old-school charm that immediately sets the tone. From the vintage décor to the elegant lighting and cozy seating, it’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and take it all in. It’s easy to see why locals and travelers alike keep coming back. ⸻ Coffee & Sweets: This was my first real Viennese coffeehouse experience, and it absolutely set the bar high. The coffee was excellent, rich and smooth, served in true traditional style. We also tried a selection of pastries and sweets, which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. ⸻ Experience: What made the visit even more enjoyable was the laid-back, unhurried vibe. Despite being a popular spot, it never felt rushed or overly touristy. It was simply a genuinely pleasant experience — a great way to ease into the day and soak in a bit of Viennese culture. ⸻ Final Thoughts: If you’re new to Vienna’s café scene, Café Prückel is a fantastic starting point. It’s elegant but approachable, traditional yet welcoming — and it set the perfect tone for the rest of our coffeehouse tour. Highly recommended for first-timers and coffee lovers alike.

Very expensive fancy food shop. The range of product is very wide, from all around the world but the prices are higher than in normal supermarkets (ex. local ones). The service at cash was unnice.

Worth a visit—offers really high-quality, though high-priced, goods. Great spot for finding gifts for special occasions. However, it felt wasteful that they used two bags for every customer. Why not have more practical, sturdy bags that can hold heavy items and just use one instead?

Absolutely smashing spot for excellent food in epic portions. Great range of drinks and extremely generous meals. Food is fresh, tasty and exactly what you want from a Viennese local. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Great value for money - all in walking distance of the centre of the museum quarter and shopping strip. Very good atmosphere.

Cozy beer-hall vibes and big steins make this a great spot to settle in after a stroll through Spittelberg. The Gebackene Käsevariation was crispy outside, melty inside, and perfect with the lingonberry and creamy dip. The BBQ ribs stole the show, tender, nicely grilled, and not too loaded in sauce, an absolute must-order. The pork schnitzel was well-fried and came with a tasty potato salad, but I was disappointed that they only offered pork even though it’s advertised as “Wiener schnitzel”, I was expecting beef. Service was efficient and quick, though not particularly warm; nothing rude, just not very personable. Atmosphere, however, is excellent, lively, comfortable, and exactly what you want from a classic Viennese pub. Also great for large groups. Would return, especially for those ribs.

Fantastic and friendly service who were perfectly happy to help us in English when we struggled with German. Good homemade drinks and some tasty classic dishes too. Perfectly clean place, delicious pitas, nice service. You can pay by card. It is on a narrow street, you may feel you got lost but don’t afraid go in and it’s there. It can get crowded in dinner time, but you can wait at the bar and see how the pita chef prepares the pitas. It has a authentic oven for cooking. You choose the ingredients from the menu. It has many options. Beer is perfectly delicious and cold. the place itself has a nice atmosphere, a kind of historic bar. Highly recommended. It has large tables, you can visit there as groups. Hot dog restaurant
Vienna Sausage is a popular snack in Vienna, known for its juicy pork and beef tubes that are slowly smoked and grilled to perfection. There's a place in the city that specializes in serving hot dogs with various dressings and sauces, including cooked sausage with cheese and bacon. It's an affordable and delicious option for visitors looking to try authentic Vienna sausages.
I stopped by for a Vienna sausage and was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and welcoming the service was. I ordered a classic hotdog, and absolutely loved the taste—it was unique and so different from what I’ve had before. The sausage itself was flavorful and satisfying. The only small thing for me was that the mustard was a bit strong for my taste, but overall it really added to the authentic experience. Definitely worth trying if you want something delicious and distinctly Viennese!
J K — Google review
An absolute must. Delicious, melt in your mouth fresh baked bun, with a delectable traditional made in Vienna Sausage. Topped how you would like or choose from their menu. I decided to go for the classic but with a twist. Instead of the ketchup and mustard I asked for the Austrian mustard, and had no issues with my request. The place is busy and only open a few days a week. The staff was wonderful, the prices are fair and the small but quaint establishment is enough for their business. It does have a few tables and they free up pretty quickly so eating in doesn’t take long. I did get a table within 5 mins of placing my order and once you are seated they will make your sausage so it’s fresh. The bun was so soft and fresh, and the sausage was super tasty . I noticed customers after finishing their first order would order more! Don’t miss out on enjoying the best sausage in Vienna!

Absolutely delicious and a MUST visit when in Vienna! The owner is one of the most friendly and enthusiastic individuals I have ever met in my life and I would highly recommend a visit just to meet him. He is very welcoming and as a Viennese native, offers everyone advice on what to do/see in the city making the experience that much more enjoyable! Cannot recommend enough, food, service and atmosphere are all top tier. Safe to say we will be back!
Alex V — Google review
I had the pleasure of trying the hot dog at Vienna Sausage and I must say it was an exceptional experience, just as the picture suggests! The sausage is undoubtedly the star: excellent, juicy, and with a quality you can taste from the very first bite. The combination with the soft bun and all the toppings (I love the fried onions and sauerkraut visible in the photo!) is simply perfect. A true comfort food in a gourmet version. You can tell there is care in the choice of ingredients. But a place is not just about good food, and this is where Vienna Sausage excels: the staff is extremely friendly! A warm and cheerful service always makes a difference, making the experience even more pleasant and welcoming. And the Stiegl Goldbräu beer (the one in the can) is the ideal side to accompany this street food masterpiece. Highlights: High-quality sausage and excellent flavor. Hot dog rich and well-balanced in taste. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Great atmosphere for a delicious break. In summary: If you are in Vienna and looking for a superb hot dog served with a genuine smile, Vienna Sausage is a must-visit. Highly recommended! I will definitely be back!

A must go place in vienna for the best Hot dog out there. Straight forward menu: 5 kind of hot dog and that is it. Very small and cute place, but even if you have to wait 30 minutes to enter, just go and be patient. It is worth it. And the staff? Didn't even know an Austrian guy could be so friendly and funny. Highly suggested (the dude who's taking the selfie is the owner)

This is a hidden gem in Vienna. If you are looking for a great meal that is delivered fast, with high quality ingredients but at a reasonable price, this is your place. It is a family run Viennese Sausage restaurant with very limited seating in a quaint small footprint. The menu is limited to drinks and sausages only. While there are no sides, they do one thing extremely well- sausages! The buns are made in house, amazing toppings and sausages are perfectly cooked and very high quality. Service is delivered with a smile and the owners are extremely kind and friendly. They happily answer questions about the city while you enjoy your meal. We will certainly be back again multiple times. Support this local shop, it is one of the best in the city!
Mitch F — Google review
The best Käsekraner in Vienna without a doubt! The customizable toppings and homemade, natural bun, set this sausage shack apart from all the rest. The owner, René, individually welcomes every guest, explaining the menu in detail for newcomers and regulars. The special truffle sauce on the Mozart is such a salty treat, probably the most popular choice. The Imperial is a lot of meat and has other tasty ingredients, it will satisfy any hankering. Personally, I enjoy the Old Vienna. It has the right amount of bite and the tang of the mustard compliments the sausage so nicely. I only wish there was more seating in the restaurant during the lunch rush. A couple more tables outside would help with this. I also hope he decides to be open for more days, we want more Vienna Sausage! Pro tip: If you enjoy spice ask for their off-menu hot sauce on the side.

The place is quite small but really familiar! The owner and his mother are really friendly and pleasant, enriching the atmosphere. The food is very delicious, from the soft bun, to the kasekrainer, until the toppings! A must to visit in Vienna.

Tian Bistro am Spittelberg is a stylish and modern restaurant that offers plant-based versions of soul food. The space underwent a complete refurbishment in September 2019, resulting in an elegant and sophisticated interior with neutral colors, botanical prints, and a new lighting concept. Embracing sustainable development, the restaurant reused and refurbished many components. Located in Vienna's beautiful Spittelberg district, this bistro offers a small seasonal menu featuring vegetarian and mostly plant-based dishes.
We ordered a place one week in advance, for 17:00 early dinner. We came 2 (it is 57 euro per person+ 3 euro per person for service) Didn't really understand the service fee because they told us at the end that the bill doesn't include a tip, so maybe it is a cultural thing that we didn't understand, anyway we gave a tip after the waitress said that the bill doesn't include it 🤔 The atmosphere was great, the food was good as well, some plates were excellent and some were good, the butter at the beginning was divine- wow 🤯 The desserts were incredible as well, and we loved the concert of the fix meal, that you don't need to think too much.. but on the other hand not all dishes would have been a first pick. Service - professional
Adi D — Google review
Excellent place to get a delicious vegan experience made of starters, main entries and desserts. Everything was scrumptious. I think for 57€/person is ok, but I would have preferred less dishes but two portions each. All of the food was intended to be shared so only one portion of each course.
Giacomo R — Google review
The most delicious vegan food one can find! I went here with my family of 4 for my birthday and the food really did exceed my expectations. We booked a table and although it said, that the spot was only reserved for 2 hours, we stayed for more than 4. So don’t worry about that! They have plenty room, also for groups and everything is friendly and clean. Food wise: The sharing plate concept is such a nice twist, as you can try and eat as much as you want. Everything was beautiful and combined so many ingredients that you would normally not eat that way. The dessert was heaven, and after they asked us if we liked a dish especially and brought us another portion without extra price. You can choose vegan or vegetarian- but actually everything is vegan except the butter and one dessert. Worth all the money and perfect for any festivities.
Julia V — Google review
I had reserved this restaurant based on our visit to Vienna and really wanted to try it out. We chose chef's tasting menu and there were three courses with multiple dishes. The freshness of ingredients and individual taste of each ingredient in the dish could be easily tasted. Even though everything was impeccable, we really liked the gazpacho and cheesecake. And the quantity was more than enough for the two of us. Everytime a dish came the servers explained the dishes and the ingredients.
Purnima G — Google review
Great place for Vegans as you can choose either a vegan or vegetarian course menu. The dishes were all delicious and extremely well-balanced in flavours with some delicious surprises (olive granola for dessert). Overall, slightly too many pastes/saucy meals, would have appreciated a slightly lighter meal on this hot June day, with some changes in consistency. Still an excellent meal. The one minus was that they gave us actual butter, which I ate until I noticed it's not vegan. This should not happen in a specialised restaurant and the young waiter, although well-meaning was more confused than anything and the header waiter apologized properly though.
Christian S — Google review
The best customer service we have had in Europe, by far, with kind and attentive staff. The vegan menu (which is pre-set, no dishes are a la carte) was delicious and filling, perfect for those who enjoy sharing plates of food, which is our favorite! The highlight for me was the risotto, which was so rich! We paid 60€ each and felt it was totally worth it!

Amazing restaurant! Nice atmosphere, we were seated on the terrace on a beautiful summer evening. The food is delicious, with great variety of vegetarian dishes. Everything tastes very fresh and flavorful with nice surprises. Our favorites were the portobello, and both desserts. Highly recommend!

A really fantastic set menu of vegetarian dishes that were all thoughtfully conceived and executed. I was blown away by the balance achieved amid some pretty punchy flavours. The seasonal menu included standout starters such as the beetroot tartar and kohlrabi bites. The mains were earthy and rustic, especially the leek gnocchi which was just lovely. Overall, my partner and I enjoyed our visit a few weeks ago and loved the creativity of the chef and the wonderful service from the whole team.

A small but cozy brunch restaurant with lots of healthy options to choose from. The breakfast taco and chives bread were great - a generous of portion of eggs and chives that I didn't mind if there wasn't any meat (besides the bacon bits on the taco). We miscalculated the portion sizes, so we were stuffed by the time we finished. Overall, a nice place for a healthy, hearty breakfast.

Came here for brunch around noon. The breakfast tacos were very good but very filling, I couldn’t finish the plate. My mom had the eggplant, harissa yogurt egg plate and loooved it. The place is very moody with gold walls and a cave-like atmosphere

One of my standard cafés in Vienna! The food and coffee is delicious, the service friendly and the atmosphere always lovely. They have enough space for bigger groups and normally also take walk ins- although I recommend to book a table on sunny weekends as it can be quite full on sunday and saturdays. Also the service sometimes is a bit slow, but all in all still very recommended.

Didn’t expect it but this place was a total gem! Went for brunch and honestly couldn't be happier with my choice. Built my own breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, pickled onions, fresh greens, 2x chorizo and feta - and wow, the combo was killer! Super savory and hit all the right spots. Had a peek at what my friends got too - that salmon plate looked amazing, and everything else coming out of the kitchen was straight-up food porn material. Props to the kitchen team for making everything look AND taste fantastic. The staff here is really cool and on point - super friendly vibes and surprisingly quick with the food. Like, we barely had time to finish our coffee chat before everything arrived. Only tiny thing worth mentioning is the room we sat in had this kind of funky golden wall situation going on. Not bad, just... different? But hey, who's really paying attention to the walls when the food's this good?

The waiter was incredibly kind, the dishes were beautifully presented, and the coffee—honestly—might be the best in Vienna. Given how popular this place is, it’s no surprise the beans are as fresh as they come. A delicious meal and a truly delightful experience overall!

Delicious food and drink. Everything we had here was very tasty and fresh. Had lunch one day (minced veal schnitzel) as well as some cakes and lemonade and all were delicious. A couple of people from the service seemed to be a bit disconnected, not much interested and hard to get their attention, very strange for waiters. But other than that service generally friendly, place very clean and has an amazing atmosphere and like I said food very tasty. Definitely recommend!
Ewelina K — Google review
Very well prepared food with fresh ingredients. Went twice in 2 days. 3 eggs and bacon in a hot skillet kept everything hot. Eggs in a croissant equally good. Next time it was piquant breakfast, bums ham and gouda. Their breads and buns and incredibly fresh. O was able to get in without reservations but it was very busy so I recommend booking in advance.
Peter K — Google review
This is a bakery combined with a cafe. The eggs Benedict were not as good. The egg white was not properly cooked. The hollandaise sauce had a very weird texture - they probably added flour or starch or something like that which resulted in not a silky but rather liquid dough-like texture. The overall taste was fine but not super delicious. The hot chocolate was good although too sweet for me. The staff were not very welcoming although did their job. Overall I would not come here again for a meal, maybe I could give the bakery a chance
Alexey S — Google review
We ordered egg benedict, porridge, and hot chocolate here. They are all really good. The egg benedict is flavourful with thick sauce. Porridge is my favourite, very easy to eat coming with variety of fruits. Hot chocolate is also really good. Overall quite good with the price.

A fantastic upgrade from the classic Ströck experience. I tried the focaccia, and it was excellent — and as a chef with experience in baking breads and focaccia, I can say it was really well done: fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The coffee was also very good, smooth and well-prepared, which makes this place just as strong for a quick coffee break as it is for a full meal. The decoration is amazing, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere, and the food is on another level — creative, fresh, and much more elevated than the usual bakery offerings. A great spot for both casual meals and relaxed evenings. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see Ströck in a whole new way.

The restaurant's unique concept revolves around creating affordable meals using popular varieties of apples and potatoes. Diners praise the friendly service and delightful Austrian atmosphere.
The food here was delicious! With surprisingly generous portions. The service was also excellent—friendly, attentive, and very professional. Definitely top place to recommend.

A gem for potato lovers! Clearly a family run restaurant with a sole dedication to potatoes. Yes, you can get a schnitzel too. Very generous portions - in hindsight we should've shared a main or skipped the excellent starters. Or maybe fasted all day. Goat cheese starter and fresh potato chips (which came with two dips - the tzaziki was excellent) Potato cordon blue and potato pan with pork for mains. Every main came with a delicious fresh salad. Mozart dessert for... Dessert. This was a bit different to what we expected - the almond cake was a bit dry (still tasty) but the hot chocolate and warm apples balanced it well. We will come again.

Wiener Erdäpfelsuppe: beef soup with vegs and dried porcini mushrooms. Flavourful~ Wiener Schnitzel: classic Viennese dish~ fried pork was juicy and parsley potatoes quite nice~ Goat cheese wrapped with bacon on leaf spinach salad with crispy potato stripes. I personally not the big fan of such strong flavor of goat, way too cheesy~ We like the Wiener Erdäpfelsuppe and Wiener Schnitzel the most!!! Beer of course~ cheers! #Wiener Schnitzel

We visited on a Saturday night, after reserving online. The staff is really polite and quick. The restaurant is quite central and easily accessible even if visiting from outside the center via tram or metro. The menu has lots of potato-based options. We tried two dishes, and they were both decent. I think it's value for money.

Really tasty jacket potatoes, big portions and super satisfying.

Authentic Austrian cuisine restaurant that serves several dishes but many of them are potatoes driven dishes. I tried turkey with mashrom in baked potatoes which was amazing. Other friends tried the beef steak which was cooked on table so you can control how done it should be. Staff are friendly. It’s little small and crowded so you need prior reservation. Really recommend for those who are looking to try original Vienna food.

Café Votiv is a popular spot among students and locals in Vienna. Situated near the Town Hall and the university, it offers traditional Austrian cuisine at affordable prices. The café provides a beautiful view of the Votivkirche and has both indoor and outdoor seating options. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes for less than 10, with excellent morning offers such as the Viennese breakfast set paired with a hot drink for around 6.
I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. We were deciding where to go for dessert and beer. A massive pitcher is 14€ and the desserts are well priced. We also had an outside view to the Votive church from our seats. The staff were welcoming and fast. Highly recommend.

We visited for dinner on a whim before the light show at the church. What a place! Cool vibe and was busy with people. What stood out though was the incredible service. The guy who served us was exceptional. So friendly and talkative despite having limited English. The meals were delicious, great value for money. Couldn't recommend enough! Thank you for a lovely meal.

The waiter was very friendly and took great care explaining the menu in English to us. He also made some jokes which pleased the teenagers in our company a lot. We had the pleasure to have dinner on the lovely terrace, situated under a stone archway. The adults enjoyed a spritz, while the children had some juice. The blankets offered are a nice touch for chilly evenings. The food was fine, but to be honest not really memorable. Café Votiv serves traditional Austrian cuisine with little frills. The prices are very reasonable. Would return, but rather for the atmosphere and the aperitif than the food.

Am Nordpol 3 is a vibrant and casual restaurant located near Vienna's Augarten. The lively atmosphere, adorned with unique art pieces, makes it a popular choice among students for its reasonably priced drinks. The restaurant is known for its delectable sausage and dumplings, as well as the absolutely delicious Wiener Schnitzel. With a cozy vibe created by plants, paintings, and vintage furniture, this spot offers an authentic experience away from tourist traps.
From the moment we arrived at Am Nordpol 3, the entire team was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I was craving authentic Austrian cuisine, and they were very attentive in recommending classic dishes. Our food arrived quickly, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt, and every bite was genuinely delicious. They also suggested the ideal local beer to pair with our meal. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size. I loved it so much that, despite only being in Vienna for four days, I returned with a colleague so they could experience it too. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great traditional fare and outstanding service!

Fantastic food. Everything on the menu is typical austrian cuisine so you can't go wrong if you are overwhelmed with choices. Great environment, and not touristy at all. Also, the best sauerkraut I have ever tasted.
Alex A — Google review
Start the night with mixed beer while looking through the menu. Decided to begin with a nice vegan soup, then the garlic bread with goose liver together with jam, have the genuine Veal Wiener Schnitzel or Sausage with sauerkraut the top off with chocolate cake with cream together with Grappa schnapps. Food is genuine and service is sincere. Great dinner in Vienna. Lots of locals and we were probably the only table as foreign tourist. Great night.

FANTASTIC its super local, cozy. The schnitzel is perfect. Flawless. The taste is super! And the potatoes, WAO! Delicious must try!

Don't be fooled by the weird name and the questionable decor - the food here SLAPS. The cucumber salad was so delicious I want to eat it again right now, the schnitzel was great, the knödels and the sausages amazing. The only thing I was not a fan of was the sauerkraut (my friend said it was just the normal Austrian sauerkraut, which is a bit sweeter than I like - I like it real sour). Anyhow, GO HERE FOR A CASUAL LUNCH!!!

Turkish restaurant
Kent Restaurant is a Turkish eatery in Vienna that offers a wide range of Turkish specialties from breakfast onwards. The restaurant features a conservatory area and a spacious garden for dining. Despite being budget-friendly, Kent does not compromise on quality. It is renowned for serving the finest kebabs in the city, catering to both meat enthusiasts and vegetarians with various options. One of its popular dishes, the doner kebab sandwich, stands out for its exceptional taste and generous portions at an affordable price.
A true oasis, or rather a real institution, in the middle of the now far too hip Brunnenmarkt district. No pallet furniture, no 3rd Wave coffee - simply good, also vegetarian food and non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks (try the Turkish red wine!) until late at night in a pleasant atmosphere with great, attentive service, in the large inner courtyard in summer, in the winter garden or brick vault. Alone or with friends, an absolute recommendation!
Charles M — Google review
I love their inner garden / backyard during summer because it’s such a chill and great atmosphere. They do brunch on sundays which is good food for a decent price. Unfortunately when I came back to pick a Döner Sandwich for take away I was a bit disappointed. 6.90€ give you a tasteless spongy bread, tasteless white sauce and tasteless meat.
Rebecca S — Google review
Excellent quality Turkish food, probably one of the best outside of Turkey. Waiters were a bit slow and were distracted watching a football match. Whenever there's Turkish football games on, part of the restaurant turns into a game hall and gets very noisy. There's a prayer room which is a one plus.
Yahya Z — Google review
Perhaps due to the central location of the restaurant, but I think that the price is high compared to the food. The food is nice and all, but it may be overpriced in my opinion. Overall satisfactory experience. The restaurant itself is located right next to the Brunnenmarkt, so you get additional experience from shopping around in the streets, where there are more than a few Turkish, Arab and Asian shops around.
Jelilat K — Google review
The place is clean and spacious. It has a unique style. Waiters are friendly, polite and helpful. Prices are a bit expensive in comparison with the taste of the dishes. The restaurant is located in a nice area. Five minutes walking distance from the metro station. It is a family friendly restaurant. Not among the places I would love to visit again.
Wael I — Google review
Gorgeous garden, decent food. Many dishes are premade and sometimes are served lukewarm, grilled dishes can be dry. Nevertheless, It's the perfect place for a dinner on a hot Vienna evening. The service can sometimes be hit and miss, really depends on the waiters and their mood. Without the garden it wouldn't be worth a visit but it's such a lovely hidden oasis that it makes up for all little shortfalls.
Dan K — Google review
Since I heard from a number of people this Turkish restaurant was amazing and considering many Turkish people live in Vienna, I was expecting a lot more.....and so even though the food and service were passable, I was a little disappointed 😔 none of the abundance of delicious Turkish bread and salad that come in good Turkish restaurants, rack of lamb was over cooked and oily and vegetable stew was tasteless......maybe it wasn’t a good day and might come back to try other dishes....🤔

The Wurstelstand on Hohen Markt is a famous sausage stand that attracts large crowds at night on Fridays and Saturdays. The kasekrainer, which is gooey inside and crispy outside, is famously popular with locals. Those in search of a late-night snack should head over to the Wurstelstand.
Perfect post classical concert snack stop! Delicious fresh sausages make for a very casual supper especially after a packed day of touristy tours, art museums and calorie dense cakes. Nothing fancy here, but everything is super delicious and freshly cooked. Several counter space area around the stall where you can stand and eat. Fun and delicious!
Gustav — Google review
Honestly, not much to shout about here. The hotdogs are decent, big portions, filling, and convenient if you’re nearby. But nothing mind-blowing. Is it nice? Sure. Worth making a trip for? Not really. It’s a takeaway-only spot with no seating, so you just stand at the side to eat. The vibe is pretty standard, nothing remarkable. The staff came across as a little grumpy and impatient when explaining the different flavors in English, though I can’t really blame them with the constant flow of tourists, it’s just part of the experience. Overall, it’s fine for a quick bite if you happen to be passing by, but definitely not a must-try destination.

The sausages were delicious — we tried the ones with cheese, and they did not disappoint. The beer was tasty, and the prices were very reasonable. The seller was friendly and polite, which made the experience even better. This is a great spot to try one of Austria’s traditional dishes. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic taste of local flavors

Würstelstand am Hohen Markt is a great spot to enjoy authentic Viennese street food at a very affordable price. The sausages are delicious, fresh, and served with a variety of condiments like mustard, ketchup, and fresh bread rolls. It’s the perfect place for a quick bite, especially if you are walking around the city and want to experience something local and traditional. The atmosphere is casual and lively, often visited by both locals and tourists, which makes the experience even more authentic. The service is fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable compared to sit-down restaurants. Definitely worth stopping by if you want to taste Vienna’s famous sausages in their most original form.

This place is right in the middle of a very busy shopping area.. Came here based in recommendations for a good wurstelstand…. Tried the traditional currywurst and it was ok, not as hyped as some of the reviews pointed out to be.. Since it is a stand, there isn’t seating, you just stand at the counter and eat… Going to try several other places and different flavors… this one was kinda ok… nothing to write home about…

Restaurant
Gastwirtschaft Wratschko is a traditional Austrian restaurant in Vienna that offers a cultural dining experience. The wood-paneled and dimly lit establishment has a pub-like atmosphere where the waitstaff serve with a touch of Austrian sass. The menu features traditional Austrian cuisine, including some unique items like pigs' stomach. Despite initial skepticism, the late Anthony Bourdain was pleasantly surprised by the local meat and vegetable dishes during his visit to this cozy and authentic beisl.
TLDR - While I am not at all some professional food critic, this is THE BEST meal I have ever had in my entire life. On our trip to Vienna, my fiance and I looked up some places that would be good to try traditional Viennese cuisine. Wratschko popped up on a list and it was even mentioned that Anthony Bourdain came by here so we figured it's worth the try. So.... THE FOOD. On our first night, we ordered the minced meatballs with mashed potatoes and the chicken in a chanterelle sauce with dumpling. The chicken was cooked completely through, yet still remained juicy and tender. The sauce was a tad saltier than i may have preferred, but the whole dish was still unbelievable. The meatballs were dense and savory, and the well flavored with this dish's own unique sauce. The starchy sides came exactly as they should in texture and flavor (okay, actually the mashed potatoes were nothing like I'd ever tasted anywhere else - creamy, fluffy, but also had chunks of diced potato. Both times we got them, they tasted like this and it was incredible), and even the steamed vegetables that seemingly garnished the plate only added to the dishes' flavor profiles. These veggies kept their natural colors as overcooked ones tend to, and each night was crisp and bright, contrasting the denser flavors of the meats and starches. This meal was so good, we had to come back on our last night in Vienna. On this second visit, which I am writing as I eat, we ordered the boiled beef with pumpkin oil as a starter (similar to a Tafelspitz) the minced meatballs again (fiance wanted to repeat that) and the roasted lamb. The boiled beef was very interesting. It tasted almost like a Vietnamese beef salad, except with more European flavors. The pumpkin oil was mixed with a hint of balsamic and the herbaceous aroma of parsley pierced through just enough with each bite of beef, spiraled radicchio, and diced peppers. The roasted lamb would be #3 if I had to rank all the main dishes we've tried, but nonetheless cooked perfectly, and it's only fault is that I feel like I could've had the same dish at a different restaurant. Finally on this second visit, we ordered the pancakes with apricot jam as a dessert to share. It's more of a thick crepe than a pancake. Fluffy, with some sugary charred ends, balanced with the tartness of the jam, and dusted over with some powdered sugar. Delicious. As for environment, the restaurant has a cozy, old-timey interior with candlelit tables and wooden walls. The downside of the inside is that it's not well-ventilated and the kitchen smoke billows a bit through. You'll leave smelling like a bit of grease. They do have outdoor seating though so if you can't stand it, wait for the outside? There is one server/bartender/busgirl and one chef working this whole restaurant. This place is just out of this world. I will miss this restaurant more than the whole rest of Vienna.
Zhen C — Google review
Food is realy ok, but stuff could be better and more friendly and also a little bit more focused on customers. Beer and wine was more then ok. Prices are fair. People are smoking here so You should ask about smoke free table. We were invited for first free table and we didn't noticed that couple of customers were smoking cigaretes.

Stunning old fashioned Austrian cuisine. Besides perfect still perfect!! The only thing is you may need to wait for a bit, due to they only get one chef. But do order a pint of decent local beer for yourself and maybe you can have a great conversation with the owner about indie music.

Cosy. Quaint. Authentic Austrian food. Nice place. Allows smokers . thankfully waitress moved us from the smoking area once a table came free in the non smoking area. Not that cheap for the though. €15 For main course. Good size portions though. Menu limited hence 4 rating. House white wine was good. Smoked Meat dumplings were lovely but the accompanying veg was a bit undercooked. Waitress was really friendly and helpful. Recommended

One of the best eating experiences. Please, English-speakers, treat this place with love and respect. It's a pub stuck in time with great food, fine beer, smoky atmosphere, and some of the best green beans I've ever had (no kidding, try them). They don't have an English menu, but servers are kind and patient. This is Vienna at its best.
Michael L — Google review
Very nice typical bar/restaurant in the center of Vienne. We had the chicken and the meatballs. Meatballs with the purée were very nice. The chicken with the crispy pasta was a bit disappointing. The waitress was very friendly and gave us great recommendations to taste the local food with nice beer. We recommend if you are looking for typical Austrian food but not if you are looking for any kind of refined cuisine and atmosphere.

This was an amazing experience in Vienna. Small place with a great atmosphere and great staff 👏 The set menu was great and everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great! Great help on the wine selection with local Austrian wines. Highly recommend 👍

If you only have time to get one dinner in Vienna, make it here. An unforgettable experience. We felt so well cared for the whole dinner; each member of the team seemed like they made our dining experience a priority. I particularly appreciated the interest our waiters took in recommending wines to us. They genuinely seemed to care about making sure we enjoyed our wine while also pushing us out of our tasting comfort zone. Dining here opened my horizons to a whole set of wine tastes I had never experienced before. And this is to say nothing of the food. The lettuce hearts with peach and feta was a standout appetizer, and the lamb neck with chanterelles had a very well-balanced taste profile. I was so glad we got a chance to experience this place.

Highly refined, excellent natural wine restaurant with a focus on local ingredients. Friendly, informative staf, and a lovely atmosphere. More than worth your bother for a highlight evening out in Vienna. Im only giving it 4/5 for the food because two of our courses from the chefs menu needed a little more care and refinement with the vegetable cooking, but I only do it as encouragement for an obviously ambitious and talented kitchen, not because it was "bad" in any way. Go!

We decided to have a nice birthday dinner, choosing the chef choice of 6 dishes and the wine pairing. All dishes were delicious, but more importantly the wine pairing was exactly right. Our top dishes were definitely beetroot tartar, salmon and smoked fish empanadas. The service was very kind and they even brought a candle in our desserts. Their knowledge of wines is exceptional. All the other guests seemed to also enjoy their time. We left stuffed and happy. Thank you for the evening!

My wife and I had a tremendous meal at the charming MAST Weinbistro in October. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and enjoyed excellent, friendly and professional service throughout our dinner. We started with exceptional sourdough with raw milk butter and cheese sausage “bar snack.” We had delicious appetizers of chick peas and fennel and pumpkin and feta. The dessert of apple sorbet and dark chocolate was amazing, too. The quality of the ingredients and the skilled preparation were evident in each dish. As one would expect, the wine offerings were splendid as well. We would happily return to the MAST Weinbistro on our next trip to Vienna.

A very good gastronomy tasting experience! The atmosphere there was simply amazing! The two owners was serving us by themselves which adds so much to the experience. There were alwqys humbly smiling. The service was very nice and made our stay very welcome. The food itself was interesting to taste. Not everything was special, some dishes were very a little bit plain and seemed like easy to make, but others were out of this world! Very good wine list. We had two different tasting menu and we specialy recommend the Oxtail x feta x corn, pumpkin, fawn saddle, raw alpine char. For not so much: pickled mountain trout, spaghetti pumpkin, or beets. The overall experience was amazing :) thank you

The food was great and reasonably priced, the chili cheese sausages were a highlight for sure. Aperitif Swiss cider was great too as well as non alcoholic Danish rhubarb raspberry tea. Just one menu position was a bit misleading - the bone marrow entry - there is very little bone marrow and it’s not presented the expected way (not on the bone, just as a barely noticeable topping on the vegetables), so worth asking how does the dish look like in advance! Great service, extremely careful and knowledgeable staff

We stopped by for breakfast before our flight and enjoyed both the classic breakfast and the ham & cheese omelette. Each was delightful, and I felt we received great value for what we ordered. We also indulged in the chocolate cake, served warm, which was absolutely sensational. The interior of the café added to its charm, creating a lovely atmosphere. However, the standout feature was the exceptional service. Our server was incredibly friendly and shared insights about the importance of cream in Viennese coffee. I completely agree; whipped cream enhances everything! His warm and humorous demeanor truly enriched our experience. This was definitely one of our highlights during our time in Vienna. As a note - they only take cash at the establishment. Which wasn’t a problem for us in the slightest.

South Indian restaurant
This restaurant specializes in South Indian food and is a great option for vegetarians and vegans. The dishes are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful.
Had a great experience at PROSI South & North Indian Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and tasted really authentic. What I loved the most was the variety — they offer a wide range of both South Indian and North Indian dishes, so there’s something for everyone. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Indian food!

We weren’t quite sure about this place, but after a viral tweet by a famous person, I thought — why not give it a try? We went there specially for lunch. But oh my god, I should’ve trusted my instincts. We ordered a Masala Dosa and a Veg Thali. The dosa looked like it had just survived an oil spill — dry, chewy, and clearly made without love (or skill). The chutneys and sambhar had absolutely no flavor; the coconut chutney was made from dry desiccated coconut, which is honestly shocking for a so-called South Indian restaurant. Then came the Veg Thali — plenty of curries, but none worth remembering. The only thing remotely decent was the samosa. That’s it. We still finished our food because we were starving (and it was pricey), but the experience was a huge letdown. To be honest, the best thing about Prosi is their Indian supermarket right across from the restaurant. You’re better off grabbing some Maggi and tea from there and enjoying a desi meal at home / airbnb instead of dining here.

The location is bit out of the city but a good place to try Kerala food. There was a bit of northern touch to the beef curry but the fish curry and kappa was excellent.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant in Vienna. Dosa and Biryani are recommendend, and their Palak Paneer is simply devine.
Martin M — Google review
I often visit this restaurant, just because of the exceptional food, amazing South India dosa, good taste, fast service, good staff, I just noticed that sometimes they don't have a specific flavor for the dosa, for example chutney or sambar, otherwise everything is good👍🏼

Very good place for indian and south indian food... The owner is very co-operative humble and polite... She helped us a lot. Thank you ❤️

The overall experience was nice the taste of the food can be better next time . The portion of the rice is small without bread it’s less

If you want to try original, tradition Indien food, you have to try in prosi. I would say until now this is one of the best Indien food I ate in whole Austria. The portion was big and really delicious(if you can eat spicy that will be more tasty 👍🏻) Sometimes they also have some events to join, I really recommend this to all Indian food lovers. P.S: It usually takes time to prepare the food, like >30mins, but the waiting time is totally worthy.

Quick different choices, they have good quality, but the staff seems exhausted. Most do not speak English. They have hard work we should admit

Good grocery store, and the only one still open past midday. Still, for some reason, half of the aisles were closed off with a curtain, even though it was hours before closing time. That was odd

Asian fusion restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Hong Kong style fast food restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Zollergasse of Vienna, BAO BAR 1070 stands out as a must-visit destination for bao bun enthusiasts. This charming eatery specializes in Asian street food, offering a delightful array of bao buns that are perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch. The menu features both traditional and creative options, including vegan delights like the Fancy Tofu bao with crispy tofu, avocado, daikon, and fermented cabbage.
The place is very stylish but extremely simple in design, inspired by Japanese fast food. Their menu is not very large. Personally, we were only interested in bao, so that’s all I remember. I got one with pork and one with crispy chicken. Since I love poke, and the sauce in the pork bao reminded me of it, I really enjoyed the pork one. The crispy chicken bao is perfect—nothing extra, just pure perfection. Its simplicity perfectly highlights all the ingredients. It was amazing. Try it and discover something new!
Artjoms A — Google review
The BaoBar was a real street food gem in Vienna. It was my first Bao Bun too so this was the right place to lose my bao-ginity. The crispy chicken Bao was incredibly tasty with amazingly balanced mouth feel - both soft and crunchy. The sweet potato fries were divine too. Well recomended!
Chavdar S — Google review
I tried the crispy chicken with Japanese beer and absolutely loved it. I’ll definitely visit again on my next trip to Vienna. I highly recommend this place for lunch, even if you're dining solo."
Kaan K — Google review
Below mediocrity at its finest for high prices in a very rundown place. For 19 euros the taste of this food is a disgrace. The hot sauce has no flavour other than the intense hotness, the sweet potato fries are burned at the edges and dry I'm the middle the "crispy" chicken is old and stale and the "crispiness" is tooth breaking instead of crunchy. As for the pork, this is one of the dryest and chewiest pieces of meat I had the bad luck in having to eat. All around this place doesn't even reach mediocrity in terms of food quality to the extent that I would classify it as prison food.
Sergiu B — Google review
So good we visited it twice when we visited Vienna! The crispy chicken baos were delicious and please try their peanut and hoisin sauce - it’s out of this world! One staff member was a little rude to us on the first visit but they were a lot friendlier the second time around.
Sharron L — Google review
The protein to bao ratio was so off. I felt like I was eating more bao than protein. Super disappointing when we only ate like have the bao bun and the protein is gone already 🥲 the photo makes it look so full but they put all the veggies at the bottom so it looks like a lot. I ordered the crispy tofu and it was so thin and small. Overall, delicious but wished they didn’t skimp on the protein so you an actually enjoy the whole thing.
H N — Google review
great bao chicken. nice and crispy. Sweet potato chips was too salty for us , so we skipped ordering it again.
Anna M — Google review
this spot ain’t playing around. You walk in and it’s like the air already seasoned, carrying that soft, steamy bao aroma like a warm hug. The buns? Pillows straight from heaven. Fluffy, cloud-like, but still got that little chew to remind you it’s real. The fillings? Oh my lord. Each bao is basically a love letter wrapped in dough. Crispy pork belly dripping with glaze, spicy chicken that hits like a gentle slap, even the veggie options pulling weight like they got something to prove. Every bite is balanced—sweet, savory, tangy, spicy—all having a party in your mouth and everyone’s invited. And the presentation? These baos pull up looking like they’re ready for a photoshoot. Perfect folds, sauces drizzled with precision—like edible art you almost feel bad eating (but not bad enough to stop). Bao Bar don’t just serve food, they serve an experience. You’re not just eating, you’re getting your taste buds tucked in with a bedtime story. Honestly? I’d let these buns ruin my diet and my life with zero regrets.

La Pausa was a disappointment for us. Highly rated and recommended turned out to be a pizza fast-food. You pick your pizza out of ready ones, and they warm it up for you. There's no AC, plenty if flies... well let's just say we expected something better.

Stumbled across this pizzeria and it is divine. One of the nicest slices of pizza I have had. Hilariously it was bustling opposite a practically empty dominoes

Very good pizza and fair prices! I often got a whole meter for take away, but sometimes also grab one or two pieces for the road. It can get crowded and quite often there is a queue. The staff is doing their best and is working hard, especially now when it’s that hot it must be exhausting, so be a bit patient.

Good pizza. Maybe it’s the only to-go it Italian style pizza in Vienna (to the best of my knowledge), Prices are reasonable. It’s somehow too bready though You order good big size pizza at reasonable price. Digest quickly and good quick pizza choice. Would go again and again,
Fadi S — Google review
So i decided to try it out of curiosity. I was in Naples last month and had enough of pizza. I would say it depends how someone likes their pizza, but I definitely LOVE this!! Every single pizza I had i was blown away! Thin crust and crispy! Drizzle with chili oil and basil leaves, you get the best pizza in town! I don't really like neopolitan pizzas cause it is soggy, but this place is highly recommended! Please never change the recipe. ☺️😍 Try the margarita, you will not regret it! And for the price, very affordable.. I found my favorite pizza place ❤️

Incredibly tasting pizza! Very reasonably priced. Don’t miss out on those thinly crunchy crusty slices. Hands down the best pizza (slices) takeaway you can get in town. All fresh ingredients. Don’t know how Domino’s across the street can compete.

If you're wandering through Vienna and have a craving for something spicy, look no further than "Würstelstand - Zum scharfen René." This iconic sausage stand has been serving up deliciously fiery sausages since 1968, making it a must-visit for non-vegan food lovers. Nestled conveniently at Schwarzenbergplatz, just a stone's throw from the city center, this spot is renowned for its unique take on traditional Viennese fare.
Loved it. We had a traditional sausage with mayo, mustard and ketchup all mixed together inside the bread. Super nice, highly recommend. It was so good in a rainy day that we got to order the second one which was a spicy one. We were warmly offered curry sauce to go with it. We prefer the traditional one but both were nice. The seller even gave us a foil to wrap the leftover bread.

Best sausage stand in Vienna!!! Stopped by here on my way back from The Belvedere museum and this was recommended as a place to stop. Highly agree! Fabulous sausage and so not touristy. The owner was so helpful. I loved every bite of both sausages I bought!!!

It was so nice, we went twice ✌🏼 Robert who runs the stand offered such great service — we got the Käsekrainer with extra spice (I think he added some type of scotch bonnet oil and man was it spicy!!)🌶️ the ottakringer and bread helped He came out to check on us to make sure the spiciness was just the right amount and recognized us when we came back the next day! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick and authentic experience in Vienna!

The guy was an absolute legend. The sausage was cooked to perfection. I had the vinegar pickles and the spiced pepper pickles on the side (gotta say, these are some of the best pepper pickles I’ve ever had). All-round good vibes—great, easy, quick street food.

We tried sausages in some of the most famous places, but found the flavors to be pretty standard and the service rather unfriendly. Here, instead, we found the best sausage of our stay in Vienna, combined with the owner’s kindness and great willingness to explain the menu to us (since it was written only in Austrian German). 5/5 hearts and a big thank you from both me and my girlfriend!

an amazing sausage stand to visit, the sausages were so good we went for seconds after :) tried the sausage in the standard form (sausage with sliced bread on the side) and the hotdog form the guy has been working here for 20 years so he is super experienced and knows what he’s doing! thank you for a great first meal in vienna

Perfect fast stop to put some fuel in while watching people and tram passing by. From the reviews I saw that the currywurst looked amazing so I went for it. It is indeed really tasty and don't forget to put spicy sauce, it's the top notch. Also, the kiosk guy is the coolest guy in the world.

The Wiener Würstelstand is a small shack selling all sorts of hot dogs and sausages in Viennese style. It's popular with evening opera-goers and night owls, as well as those looking for organic sausage.
Nice little relaxed stand in a more residential/student area. While I had the vegan option and my husband had the meat option, both of us were impressed and satisfied! It was nice to have an option for both of us. The server was lovely and patient as we tried to communicate in broken German. Would happily recommend to anyone.

Service was funny as the guy showed us how he makes ‘potato mushrooms’ with the remains of their potatoes after making the chips. Fun talk! The Käsekrainer was good but not super impressive, and the bread with it was a bit stale. Chips were amazingly fresh and crispy though; yums!

Esterházykeller is a historic wine tavern located beneath a palace in Vienna. Accessible through an unassuming door and a steep staircase, this cozy restaurant offers classic Viennese cuisine at reasonable prices. The cellar's arched roof creates a unique atmosphere, perfect for enjoying well-priced and high-quality wine. Established in 1683, Esterházykeller provides an opportunity to savor hearty Austrian dishes without breaking the bank.
A really beautiful restaurant inside a cellar. You are feeling that you are in a medieval restaurant. Amazing pork schnitzel( it surely was as good as expected), huge portions, with tasteful potato salad. We also tried local sausages and two glasses of wine (55€ in total for two persons). You should definitely try it
Nik B — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Trout, potatoes and salad. Very tasty and expertly cooked. The atmosphere was comfortable and our waiter was helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back. We also enjoyed our dessert of apple strudel and mini pancakes( like crepes). We loved the soda beverage Almdudler too.

Everything was perfect! We had a reservation so we got seated right away, the atmosphere is very cozy and warm, even though the restaurant was almost full it was pretty quiet! We shared a very delicate and tasty goulash, a super crispy schnitzel and the best potato salad I had ever eaten (plus some sauerkraut, but that is always delicious) Our server Zohran was super friendly and ready to advise the best plates and combinations! Would definitely recommend and stop by again! ✨

Christie D — Google review
I would say that the restaurant is mainly aimed at tourists who come only once. The service was OK, wiener schitzel and beer standard (33,50€ I rounded it to 35€ and pay by card). The most interesting thing is the location under the ground. The toilet is a bit small, you have to be careful.
Sese L — Google review
Dog friendly and interesting old world atmosphere. Food was great especially the appetizer pretzel they bring you at the beginning of the meal. We could have just kept eating those and called it a night. I do recommend the Vegetable Strudel! WIRR is a casual spot that serves local specialties and global dishes like curry and falafel from breakfast onwards. It's known for its bomb vegan pizza, cool interior, and versatility as a go-to spot for various occasions such as meeting friends, studying, working, or having a relaxed evening. The cafe offers Austrian breakfast with a variety of items including bread roll, croissant, homemade marmalade, butter, sliced cheese, sliced ham, and an egg.
The food is good but what's more noteworthy is the overall ambiance. The interior design is modern and brutalistic while somehow being soothing. The curatiin of the music also adds to the overall mood. The staff is very friendly. All in all a great place to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

We came for a disappointing brunch here as a party of six. The coffee was great, and it's a great atmosphere inside with nice decor. But our waitress was rude, telling us she "didn't have time" to check a dietary requirement, and the food was very disappointing; the vegan salmon is particularly awful. Overall, everything on the menu just didn't live up to expectations, and I don't expect we'll be coming back again.

We went for a brunch, it was very nice, good coffee, chai latte as well as the devils breakfast was very nice! The vegan carrot cake was my highlight - so yum and juicy. The atmosphere is nice but sadly our staff was very busy and so we waited longer for our food as well as drinks and other stuff. She was nice about it though! Can recommend going there. I think it would also be nice in the evening just for drinks.

A very unpleasant experience. We were just passing through, very hungry and tired in the morning, and chose this place because of its interesting decor. But right away, we were met with an unpleasant look from the waiter, who then came over and at first responded quietly, unclearly, and indifferently in English to my question about a vegan breakfast option. Then he rudely brushed us off, telling me to use Google Translate and figure it out myself, before walking away. It was such a pity to waste our time and energy on this place. Our morning mood was ruined by the waiter’s bad attitude. I do not recommend this place.

We had breakfast. Interesting experience as the waiter was one of a kind! He overcharged us two times for the same breakfast and added a 2€ charge for the credit card usage as a tip! Moreover, he throw the bread crumbles to the floor!!! The omelettes had great portions, was tasty and was over peppered... Place nice and with an artist attitude!

Service and atmosphere is very nice, however, although the food is very nicely served it was not so good. The waffle was hard as a rock and the mix of tastes with the super lemony avocado mash was not my favorite. Maybe I tried the wrong dish.
