One of the nicer Indian restaurants in the area. Vibrant, spacious and well heated dining. Parking is somewhat limited although if you arrive early enough there are around 6/7 spaces to the side. The staff are all very pleasant and attentive. The food has always been severed promptly and presented well. The food is fairly flavourful although if I was to be ultra critical, does need added depth in some places to make it a five star review. The condiments and papadums are all nice and fresh. The naan bread is always fresh and high quality. The pricing is very reasonable.

Ordered food from here today and they messed up their delivery charge. So the driver had stinking attitude, huffing and puffing, getting all pissed off because the charge should've been 4.50 instead of 1.50 delivery trying to make us feel uncomfortable at my door as if we messed up. The restaurant had our address in full and messed up but we took the brunt of it. When we called them they took their £3 delivery payment(even though they messed up) with no clue. Not about the money but the stinking attitude and bad communication. Food not as good as has been better, to be specific the half tandoori chicken tasted strange and it was full of bones so it was a waste to order it

This is a hidden gem, off the high street Dereham. Menu had a great selection of choice. The food was excellent hot and good size portions, the staff were friendly and the service was good. Wasn't overly priced would happily return to this curry restaurant.

What a shame our evening was spoilt by the "cash only" rule which we were not advised when we entered the restaurant. We actually only had 1x Banquet night special but we think the restaurant treated us rather badly when we explained this. Hurriedly took my cash and small balance by card. It was, to be honest, really embarrassing to find ourselves in this situation. So, no tip guys, and sadly, we don't want to come back again. We hope you are happy!!

The best Indian takeaway I've had. First time I've tried this restaurant. Food was fresh. Not over salted or sweet. Subtle flavours. Not greasy or oily. Excellent.

Really nice food and great service.i had the lamb naga which was hot but enjoyably hot not too hot. My girlfriend had chicken tikka which she also enjoyed. Lots of meat and very good sized portions.

Everything about this place was excellent from the moment we arrive to the moment we left. Service was efficient and friendly without being intrusive. All food was top drawer, chat starter was really good and the Dhansak was one of the best I've had, hot and sour with the right amount of kick. All others meals very enjoyable too. Definitely recommend it and will be back again next time we are visiting our friends nearby.

From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff were amazing. It was so clean. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 we all had the midweek special, starter, mains, side,naan bread,rice all for £22 each . It was such good value for the money and so much food. Will most definitely be back.

Have been a loyal customer of Ranis for a while and although we had the odd issue, it was always fixed and the food was pretty good. The last order we received, we got someone else's order. They promised to replace it another night as it was getting late but it never turned up! Any attempt to contact them since has been ignored.

It’s great that they do Gluten-free you do have to pre order. I hated that they asked me to pay £4 for vinegar. The fish quality was okay but the gf batter was flabby. The chips were lovely. The pub was full of men swearing and the usual sports screens. The men’s toilet door is constantly open. Seeing men zip up as they leave the bathroom not that pleasant. I was so happy to go and visit sadly. It’s too tough and ready for me.

I can't comment on the atmosphere because we always have take away. The Gluten free batter is beautiful and crisp and always freshly cooked as are the chips because they have to be ordered. At busy times, the time you choose might not be available and there might be a delay in addition to the frying time. If you are g/f you know that food spontaneity isn't usually an option anyway. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating wherever possible. The only problem with the place is that the fish and chips are too good and too much of a temptation!

Just had takeaway gluten free fish and chips today. I wish I had tried them sooner, it was delicious. The batter was so light and crispy and the chips were excellent. Good size portion too. Will definitely be returning.

Fab dog friendly pub, stopped for lunch. Super helpful staff, sat outside with dog but there were dog friendly areas inside too. Table ordering via mobile easy & stress free (compared to apps etc). Service was quick & friendly. Plenty of parking.

The food was outstanding, even better than expected. The food came out quickly, and was displayed and plated very nicely. The customer service was amazing, the front of house team was super friendly and ensured that everything was okay. They was very helpful and made me feel very welcome.

Carvery was excellent, as always. Good selection of beers and ciders. Had an American visiting and he was allowed to taste a few before deciding which lager to have. There was a commotion to do with a couple and their dog, staff were calm and firm explaining the situation to the couple. Fully support their decision. For those with dogs it is nice to be able to take them to the pub but if they can not be kept under control, then they should not be there.

Great food, got the seat we asked for. Food arrived in good time with happy server. Play equipment in good working order and kids used the whole time. Only could see one thing that needs upgrading- wooden seating outside seems to be falling apart.

A little disappointing, the bar person did advise when taking our order, only 2 meats left on the carvery which was fine but we ordered 6 carvery meals in total and they still kept taking orders for the carvery despite there being very little meat left. By the time 4 of us had plated and another 2 people, there was only a small bit of only one meat left. Surely they should stop taking orders if they haven't the meat available? It was only 6.30pm. Oh and the meat was a bit tough...

We had the carvery, which was tasty. We ordered pigs and blankets with it which the server at the carvery station said it would be brought over . We then hadn't received them for about 10 minutes so went over to a waiter who then said he would go check but no apology was ever given including when he brought it over he just chucked it on the table without even saying anything which I thought was very rude. I feel that the overall experience wasn't great and we probably won't be back.

Served by a friendly barmaid who had a good selection of beers, ciders and spirits. Unfortunately I didn't get time for a second drink as I managed to find the only beer garden in the UK that doesn't allow dogs. Myself and my 3 friends were all turned away. We were only visiting the area as my friends were thinking of buying a house here. Needless to say, our house hunting was cut short as they will definitely not be moving to Dereham!! What did I expect from a spoons!

A one night stay here, very easy to book. Lovely friendly staff. Our room was clean & neat. The bathroom was also clean which is very important. However the actual toilet paper they use is like tissue paper so you might want to take a decent toilet roll with you! 😆 The usual tea, coffee & hot chocolate in the room, but only 4 milk pods so you may want to ask for more. Very good value for money..... plus the bonus of nipping downstairs for all the Wetherspoons facilities!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Romany Rye. The room was well appointed, and the air con was not obtrusive. It was busy in town so probably better to request a room that doesn't face the road at the front of the hotel. The only downside is the need to find a car park overnight. All in all, a decent stay and the staff were all helpful and friendly.

Popped in for a quick 1-2 and I must say the bar staff were fantastic. Deri, especially stood out as someone who is willing to go above and beyond his role. Super friendly and helpful young man.

Had an amazing experience at Bombay Tandoori in Dereham! The staff, particularly Hossem and manager Kibriya , were super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, especially the tandoori chicken! Highly recommend!

I have recently started using this restaurant in the past couple of months, the food is on another level from most Asian restaurants in Norfolk, most of which in my opinion are average at best. I have gone for the madras three times in a row, my son who is a chef always chooses from the chefs signature dishes menu and has enjoyed everyone. I’d say 100% it’s worth a visit, value for money, no doubt, friendly staff, nice setting, but most importantly the food is really good.

Ordered a takeaway from here and it was delicious. Meat tasted fresh as did the sauces. Great variety and cooked in a pretty swift time. Would recommend

Ordered online and payed via Apple Pay to be told when the food arrived and i hadn’t paid and i will need to pay again. After providing proof of payment online I was still expected to hand over cash being charged double for my food. By the time we had debated what had been proved I was told a refund for the online payment would be provided which surprise surprise never happened. Food was stone cold and disgusting after this. Horrible experience which I will never try again.

Great service exstensive menu if unsure ask the staff they will recommend something special. The biggest suprise was the generous portions. We really enjoyed our meal but couldn't finish. No problem staff will pack it for you to take home. Thank you Bombay Tandoori for a great taste experience

Lunch with Daughter. Been going here for years and never fails to disappoint. Sometimes you have to wait for a table but I see this as a good point means they’re busy ☺️ loved our food which is freshly made to order and our latte was tasty and hot ☺️

I nearly always visit this cafe whenever I am in Dereham as it's such an asset to the town and one of my favourite places in Norfolk to go! Been a few times and the food is always excellent. I have finally managed to try one of the ever popular home made sausage rolls which did not disappoint! These usually sell out so quickly and with not living that local I have not been lucky enough before to be able to get one despite several attempts, but I have now and am very glad I did! They were seasoned perfectly with a wonderful array of subtle but tasty flavours/mild spices which really brought out the flavour. The sausage meat was high quality, no gristle at all. I also had a biscoff latte and this was one of the best coffees I have had, I could really taste the biscoff syrup. Even without the syrup I think this would have been a very nice latte. They have an extensive choice of syrups to choose from rather than just the standard ones you usually get in most places, so I always look forward to having a hot drink in here with a unique syrup to choose from. Back in 2019 I visited for the first time and had the french toast with maple syrup and bacon. I believe they either use to offer this all day (which they don't anymore, only for breakfast up until 12pm) or I asked and they said I could order it for lunch as they were not too busy (which they might be happy to do again, especially if asked in advance) I ordered this without the cheese and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had very kindly taken £1.50 off the price for not having the cheese which is a rarity for cafes/restaurants to do! This was very much appreciated and showed excellent customer service! Occasionally they have got my orders wrong, one time I ordered a panini without cheese and had to send it back as it had cheese in, and when we had the sausage rolls the other day both me and my partner did ask for these to be without the salad garnish and they both came with it, but they have always been apologetic for any mistakes made and take the food back without any issues or fuss and corrects it for us. Tall Orders is always a good shout when needing to stop for lunch and the food quality is always top notch. I am yet to try one of their cakes as I keep needing to lose weight, but one day I will give one of them a go - the biscoff cookie dough slice looked incredible!

Such a lovely place we had a delicious pumpkin spiced coffee and probably the best English breakfast we’ve had for a long time! Always lovely to support local too! Great service an atmosphere too!

The food was ok. Nothing bad, just not great. We had the Sunday roast (Beef) for the two of us. The food was delivered hot and quickly. The beef was a little overcooked as it was dry, but it was not tough. However, it was very tasty. The “Yorkshire pudding” was a Yorkshire pancake and frankly an embarrassment to a Yorkie. The two roast potatoes were tasty, but not to a standard of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, more like soft all over. My parsnip was very undercooked and was inedible. The veg was plentiful and cooked well. So there was nothing to rejoice about but there was not a lot to complain about, but could I have done a better job myself…yes I could, but I would have to wash up etc. The staff were mostly amazing apart from one staff member that repeatedly did not deliver the Horseradish sauce, despite asking and confirming on three separate occasions. Another staff member finally delivered the sauce, but by that time, I had finished the meal. Lovely place to eat, with warm welcoming staff, but please do pay more attention to the details, it makes a difference.

Slightly dissapointed with our Sunday roast today. Pub itself is lovely inside and service was good. But we both had a roast and had to ask for more gravy as we hardly had any. Also the pork was very small slices and a bit dry. Desserts were very nice apart from the custard which was very thin. Overall ok but won’t return

We had an amazing lunch at The Swan. The food was absolutely lovely and plentiful, could not fault it. I ordered additional onion rings after seeing them on my sons steak. Our son’s also had the chocolate brownies for dessert and needless to say it went down well ( I did managed to secure a spoonful or two)! Lovely friendly and attentive staff and the layout/decor gave such a cosy vibe on a sunny day. If you are on holiday in the area or nearby, do check this pub out! Our total bill was reasonable considering the amount we ate. Plus we ordered 3 pints of Albion, very smooth drink! From one happy and well fed family!

Family invited us over to this lovely community pub- and we were all impressed! Quaint characterful - yet modern, it was sympathetically renovated . The White Swan's been in Gressenhall for over 500 years but in 2019 to save its future as the last remaining pub in the village it was purchased by the community. Over 6000 hours of volunteer work has created a beautiful village pub. Food is fresh and local. We had a buffet of mini fish, chicken and bowls of chips: was very nice, not greasy, was hot, moist, crispy and tasty. Generous portions. Bowls olives and cheese yum! I've been informed there was a good range of beers, many regional. Orchard Pig cider on tap (not local!) was pleasantly bubbly- medium dry/sweet, 4.3% Suitable for vegans and gluten free. Lovely community pub supporting local community with friendly staff. Fab place we'd go again.

As a party of 4 we all had different things from the menu and all enjoyed our food. There's a decent choice of starters,mains, desserts and cheese board...all reasonably priced too. Service was attentive and polite while there's a lovely ambience indoors. Dogs are welcome, which gave me a great chance to meet some gorgeous pups.

My partner and I had an early valentine's day meal booked for the white swan, and we were not disappointed. Most of the food was absolutely brilliant, and I really appreciate the use of local ingredients and game meat used in the game terrine and venison sausages! My only complaint was that the broccoli and blue cheese soup was more like water than a soup, which was a shame. Dessert option were fantastic, and our cheesecake and crumble were out of this world We would love to return! 4/5****

We were really looking for a nice Indian takeaway that doesn’t put sugar and honey in everything. We ordered on the website, which stated that the butter chicken & chicken tikka masala had nuts, onion, milk, and certain ingredients as expected. We thought we had finally found a location that made these dishes the traditional/savory way. Come to find out, it’s super sweet but the description never mentioned coconut/sugar/honey as it does in their other dishes. Silly us for assuming that the description would be accurate. Very disappointing. Garlic naan also had a twang of sweetness in it, unexpectedly. Delivery was quick though, and food arrived hot. Just sadly could not eat it as it was packed with sugar which was not nice at all. Please update your descriptions on the website to match the recipe. An unfortunate waste of £40.

Just had a take away delivered by a really nice and chatty driver. The food was fresh and the taste was sensational. Will definitely be our go to Indian from now on. Excellent value for money, I would 100% recommend.

Ordered a Set meal for 2 to be delivered. Was waiting a while to be delivered as live in Watton, (surprised they deliver out here) but the food tasted amazing. Such big portion sizes. Will be making a trip to the restaurant soon as want the dining experience too.

Our first Indian we have tried in Dereham and we haven’t changed since. The whole process and experience is brilliant. Their prices and discounts are the best and flavourings are really nice. The menu is big but there is definitely an option for everyone. The staff are polite and when leaving notes on the order they have called to confirm every time. Highly recommend and already looking forward to our next meal!

I did not try the food; I came here on Friday night. It took an hour for anything ordered for collection, so I left. I would avoid unless you are happy to wait for hours!

Fantastic place to get your Chinese, very tasteful and fresh. Please note that the collection times are off as they get so many orders so prepare to wait a little more for your food, other than that Great Place

We have been regularly customers and ordering food every week. Lovely lady usually servers us wasn’t there today.we never had problems before until today I spoke to the lady who “ works there 15 years” and the “kitchen never heard of that order before”. Having an attitude towards your customers is not appropriate if you are at the customer service job. Such a shame but the owners should be aware of the service their staff are providing.

Started using Sunflower by accident as our regular Chinese takeaway was closed. Although further to travel the food on the 3 occasions has been excellent. Fresh, well cooked, not swimming in grease or too salty. Good selection of vegetarian dishes and it didn't seem to a problem removing egg from the veggie Singapore noodles. Portion content is adequate too. Safe to say this is now our 'go to' takeaway. Photo attached is my dish of chilli and salt tofu on veggie Singapore noodles. Delicious 👌

On this occasion poor service just been discharged from. Hospital stopped to get food on way home only to get to scarning and find they've forgotten the chips,best offer they could make was for us to drive back or refund it suggested they could get someone to drop them off what with us being regulars but not an option and hung up on me.

Just the friendliest kindest staff. Staff member couldn't do enough for us. He said it was the best hot chocolate ever :-)

I have had a stroke. I visit dereham most fri . The first time I have not had brill service . Mattie served me , a young made my drink . The staff are normally very helpful. It was not very busy . I was surprised that I wasn't asked if my tray needed to be bought to my table ,as I walk with a stick . Normally so very helpful .

Lovely Costa Coffee in Dereham, staff are always friendly and have time to make you feel welcome. Always clean and tidy, light and spaceous. Really enjoy coffee here with friends and I use my reward card to earn points for free coffee!! With summer upon us, the cold drinks menu is on offer which is a nice change to just the normal menu. A great spot to stop when shopping or just to catch up with friends and family

Had lovely service from Theressa who took time to explain to us the benefits of Costa over rival coffee shops even making two tiny expresso coffees Costa way and Starbucks way in a blind taste test. Something she didn't have to do but I feel truly educated and well served by a passionate employee. Big thumb up Costa !

Went here, no pinot, flies on tables. Needs a re vamp, no atmosphere whatsoever, staff not very smartly dressed at all. Chef hadn't turned up so food was limited. Toilets not clean. Bar area carpet looked a mess, hadn't been hoovered. Tables sticky. Was going to eat there but wasn't a clean place. Wipe feet on way out!

Friendly local pub serving good food. The Hopback Summer Lightening was well kept and went down a treat.

My friend and I have been dying to try the roast in this lovely old historic pub - we had 1 roast beef and 1 chicken,it came with plenty of vegetables, a large pot of gravy and yorkshire pudding, we added cauliflower cheese too, which wasn't needed as so much already but it was delicious. The weather was dry and sunny so we ate outside. After we polished off our plates (the remaining meat was kindly packed up for our dogs in takeaway dishes) we left satisfied and took a slow walk around the village. A Sunday afternoon well spent! We're already looking forward to eating a hearty meal in front of the roaring fire in the colder months.

Had a lovely meal here yesterday. Food was proper home cooked fare, very reasonably priced (total bill £46.80 for 3 meals and 4 drinks) and the atmosphere, service and friendliness of both locals and staff make it somewhere I would definitely recommend.

They serve a great pint of Guinness, and the chilli is excellent, the dessert OMG!!!

Had lunch in this lovely traditional country pub after walking in the area. Lots to choose from the menu including main meals and light bites plus specials of the day, on Sundays there is also the option of a roast with a choice of meats. All the meals are reasonably priced and at the time of this review, desserts were only £4.50! such good value and I can highly recommend the Toffee Apple crumble! 😀 Be prepared to be patient after ordering your food as everything is cooked to order but absolutely worth the wait! 👍 We ate in the bar which was so cosy on a cold day with a real fire burning away but there is also a more formal dining room. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the service is excellent. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and well behaved dogs are allowed. There are lots of lovely walks in the area so you can work up an appetite beforehand. Check out the website for various events held at the pub including beer festivals!! Five of us plus a dog really enjoyed a relaxing lunch with good food and good company and will certainly return again.

Great food and service. Can recommend the Istanbul mixed as shown in the photo. The lamb and chicken were both tender and the rice nice and moist. We shared the baklava with ice cream, delicious 😋 Also priced very fairly. Looking forward to a return visit. Worth noting that your table is available for 1hr 45, more than ample time really.

Been passing this place for years meaning to pop in for a night out and finally did it!! Really pleased we did. The food was delicious and lovely drinks. The staff very attentive and friendly. So lovely as it’s very local. This is not like. Kebab shop it is very good and the tat was wonderful. The drinks are good too. We parked in the main car park a short distance away and walked to it.

We have had a few meals here over the years and mostly they have been good. Visited a couple of weeks ago and the food was on point. Tasty and good quantities, although the service was a little rushed and we didn't get our bread even though I asked three times for it. This is definitely not an expensive kebab shop as I have seen some suggest. If they could give a better idea of what some of the things are on the menu (maybe pictures) it would help. First time visititing this establment and found it was good value for money on the order and staff seemed friendly. Its a small sized restaurant which i can imagine gets very busy in the evenings and to note the one toilet was clean. I most likely would visit again if I was in the area. One downside would be lack of parking as we had to park down in the highstreet open car park and walk. Recommend

I’ve ordered here for delivery a few times and 3 out of 4 times they’ve not delivered everything in the order. They forgot the cherry coke this time, the food was cold and I got literally 2 bits of sweetcorn. Ridiculous.

Lovely staff, and the food is good standard subway food. What lets it down is subway as a company and their terrible attitude to customer service and loyalty with regards to the app. Things were so bad today that the shop was only accepting cash. You couldn’t order on the app, you couldn’t receive points, there have been no rewards available for a month now. Judging by the recent reviews on App Store and the lack of help available on the chat option in app, Subway UK, as a corporation, have abandoned their customers and stores.

Absolutely horrible service. Order two subs. Both were meant to be cheese and toasted well I guess they were but one was cold by the time they did the other one. Took 15 minutes just to do two simple subs.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of food and service I received. The chicken kickers that were delivered were inedible – chewy and frankly, disgusting. Once i called to request a refund, I was initially told by the manager that it would be processed. However, I then received a call back insisting that I return the chicken, which had already been disposed of in the bin. Despite my offer for him to retrieve it from there, he was insistent and spoke over me, maintaining that this was the only way to proceed. In addition to the difficulty in understanding him, the manager's attitude and customer service were appalling. His conduct was far from exemplary.This managers work ethic and attention to detail should be looked into. I will not be making any future purchases from this branch.

Quick delivery! Kind and polite driver, however, I ordered the burger style loaded fries and some chicken wings, the fries were awful and undercooked in the middle, like they had been zapped in a microwave as opposed to being fried properly. It was all fairly cold, and heavily smothered in burger sauce! So it just ruined the meal really. For the price, you at least expect your food to be cooked properly, and this isn’t the only time this has happened when I’ve ordered from here.

This is the worst dominos we’ve ever had - we have twice had orders that take ages to arrive, have seen the driver on the app attempting to find our house (which is easily found on a main road)…as a result the delivery took well over 40 minutes, was cold and completely squashed. I phoned for a refund and the staff were argumentative, dismissive and not helpful. This branch was taken over by new ‘management’ last year who not only do not care if their service is good or bad but co time to fob off regular customers with blatant lies. Do not waste your money here on overpriced, cold pizza that won’t arrive on time.

I don't really order online very often, but when I do and it's pizza, I always choose Domino's. The one we have in Dereham is always spot on with the orders, the food is delicious, very fast with delivery, and the drivers are always polite.

Placed a large order for pizzas and sides for a family get together. Everything was ready right on time and piping hot. All the food was exactly as ordered and was delicious. Staff were great, very friendly.

Tasty and good prices for the portions. We are regulars. They have sometimes messed up an order but if you let them know they will make it up on your next one. Food is almost always delivered quickly also

We simply need a quick Chinese. Other places were shut but as it turned out, Mr Tang came up trumps! Bit odd though that the sweet and sour chicken balls came already in the sauce rather than separate that we are used to. Still good though!

Just had a Chinese takeaway from Mr Tang in Dereham. It was for 16 people and it was delivered. I just want to say it was amazing. All the food was nice and hot and enjoyed by us all at Bob Carter Court in Mattishall. It was delivered by a nice friendly man pretty well on time and I can thoroughly recommend them. All the residents here are asking how soon the next Chinese night will be. Thank you Mr Tang and your staff also the nice man answering the phone. Oh and it was all bagged up separately with our names on so nice and easy to dish out. We’ll be back soon.

We’ve recently moved to a neighbouring village and this evening was our first Chinese Takeaway from Dereham. Mr Tang was recommended and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the size of portions were more than enough and the menu offered a great variety and choice. Ronnie who served us was very friendly and explained that they also deliver for a small additional fee.

Haven't used Mr tang for over 10 years, gave it a go tonight.....wow what a lovely meal everything tasted fresh... Hot and arrived when they said it would and hot early like other take aways.....honestly best Chinese in Dereham buy a long way.....amazing

Delightful traditional cafe next to Dereham Windmill. Tea served in a Tea pot with cosy, proper China cup and saucer and a delicious home made Chocolate cake. Highly recommended.

A great little tea room in a lovely setting. What's not to love about being set in a meadow with a windmill next door! The two ladies who run the cafe are welcoming and friendly. The food options are high quality simple classics, with a selection of freshly made cakes, too! Whether you want something to take-away, eat outside or inside it is certainly worth a visit! There's handy parking, too, with a designated disabled bay and smooth path, the cafe is accessible for those with walking difficulties or wheelchair users. Now we've discovered this little gem, we will be regular visitors when visiting my mother.

What an absolute treat!! I booked to have cream tea for two... what a pleasure to be looked after from the two lovely ladies at the Partea hut. Mindful of our food allergies and while there attentive in our every need, more tea, another drink, and all without being intrusive, so nice and relaxing!! Next door to Dereham windmill, we had sandwiches, scones, tea and cake whilst watching a play by the windmill. The food was great. Toilets good too. There are picnic tables too.

Popped in for lunch and ordered what I thought was just a mozzarella and tomato panini to go but the box also contained a full portion of chips and a salad! Very filling and very tasty.

Clean tidy cafe. I did look for dirt. The chair elgs and skirting boards are. Spotless. A good sign. The food was unusually good quality. The type. Of level expected in a rstaraunt for 3x the price. I only had a desert but wow it was delicious. Fruity fresh and not too. Sweet. Staff took time to present it nicely on plate too. I was I formed apple crumble had apricot in it. It had lots other yummy stuff too like grilled almonds. I do wish I had not eaten at the fast food establishment with the golden arches before visiting this cafe. In future this will be my number 1 food stop when I visit Dereham. Great staff and food. Could not get a virgin mobile phone signal in there. WiFi of store was there but did not ask or see any password for customer access. Was not required. Did I mention how clean it was there?

We waited over 2 hours for a taste of what we thought would be "heaven". It was delicious however we only received 6/7 of the items. Once the items were counted, we stared at each other to see who wasn't going to receive their shot of sugar for the evening. In the blink of an eye the vibrations got nasty. 6/10 because of the mix up.

One of the best dessert places that Norfolk can offer! Been to many, but this place is great. Takeaway desserts never really are great, but Kream Jar manage to keep everything warm as it should be!

The food is always absolutely amazing (waffles & crepes, can’t say about anything else) and we get it every weekend! However, this evening I did find a hair in my ice cream so perhaps hairnets would be useful as we noticed they weren’t wearing any.

I have been driving past this place nearly every day for the past few months, and I finally got the chance to try the ice cream out. The staff were friendly and professional, the interior was clean and well decorated. The ice cream itself, however, was a huge let down. We ordered 4 different flavours and only 1 person enjoyed the taste of theirs. The rest were either tasteless or just strange. Can't comment on other menu items (Waffles, crepes etc.) Unfortunately I think its just a case of poor quality icecream.

Lovely to have this place in dereham. Waffles and cookie dough absolutely gorgeous. The sundaes are let down by the ice cream, it's the really cheap nasty stuff and I could taste the ice crystals in it so won't be having them again but can't fault anything else.

We went with 2 discerning grandsons. Good service, big choice, dietary friendly and so yummy. 1 dish of sorbet, 2 delicious chocky sundaes and an apple caramel crepe. Home delivery too. Highly recommend it.

Lovely local for a proper traditional Sunday Lunch. During the week double stack the renowned 'George burger' - trust me they make them delicious. The George has run the best cellar in Dereham for the last 20 years. Great focus on clean drinking ale and lagers.

We came across the place purely by accident this morning, and are so glad we did! We had a fabulous breakfast there! Hubby had the pancakes, and I had the regular George breakfast. Absolutely delicious! Perfect portion sizes at brilliant prices. The service was exceptional - the staff are friendly, polite and welcoming, even when they're rushed off their feet. 100% recommended!

Stayed here for a night whilst visiting a local attraction. All the staff were lovely and the location ideal for the town centre and surrounding area. Plenty of free parking. The room was ok but the cleaning could have been a little better. The sheets and towels were clean but those hard to reach areas, behind the bath , inside the secondary double glazing could do with a good deep clean, room 3. Drinks at a fair price. We didn't have food so can't comment.

We always get a nice welcome by the lovely ladies behind the bar, unfortunately I only know one name and that is Hana… but they all are very friendly and polite…and smile a lot. We often eat and we feel the meals are tasty and good value for money… Beers are well priced so all in all it makes it a nice place to spend an evening… We are very happy with the service we receive.. 10 out of 10…. I will be back soon !!..

I booked a room through booking.com priced £99 for the Deluxe room. Just fancied a night away, so opted for the more expensive deluxe room to treat myself to a bit of luxury. Positives - The staff were friendly and kind. The location was good. The carpark was also a great, spacious size. The food was absolutely beautiful. The bar was also nice, spacious and family orientated. The room itself was disappointing, and far less than luxury! The cleaning standard of the room was very bad. *There were used clothes and bits of rubbish left in the drawers. *The seat had rips in through aging. *The mirrors were damaged and marked. There were toothpaste marks on the bathroom mirror. *There was pubic hair on and around the toilet seat. Not just the odd one, but literally on the seat, on the lid and around the bowl. *There was shower gel resin left dripped down the shower room tiles. *The shower and shower curtain were both dirty. *There was dust and bits of dirt over the floor, doors and sides. * There were stains on the carpet. * There were food and drinks smears on the sides. *The bed was extremely uncomfortable and creaked loudly every time I moved, which led to me waking up several times in the night. I was really disappointed by the standard of the bedroom cleanliness and comfort, and I wouldn't stay here again unless the rooms have had a revamp. Maybe a new mattress, the bed reinforced and a new cleaner is hired, as maybe the current one is struggling with the work load? I also feel that for a luxury room, there should be a bath available. It states bath or shower online, however for a deluxe room, I would have liked a bath. I would eat here again, because the food was beautiful and the bar/restaurant area was clean, tidy and the staff were lovely. My only issue was the bedroom.

I am a local having lived in the area for 40+ years. The George Hotel is a firm favourite with my family and friends. Very friendly and helpful staff and very good value for money. The food is excellent and the beer is very well kept. I would recommend The George very highly.

We had an excellent lunch today, gammon, egg and chips and a lamb shank, delicious! This is our third visit for a weekday lunch and we’ve always had great food. The mushroom ciabatta is lovely too. Friendly staff and good service.

Was really pleased to see the Cock had re-opened and headed there on Saturday night. The place was really busy with a great atmosphere which was great to see. Has kept the same 'proper' pub feel which is missing from so many places now. The only negative for our visit was the beer wasn't chilled enough which didn't make for a great pint. Overall a great place if the beer was chilled more it would be a 5* review.

Proper drinkers pub. Always a lovely crowd who are happy to talk to a passing stranger. Bags of banter. Some pretty decent music acts on the calendar. A lovely slice of no frills in a world of pretentious bars. Either on a sunny afternoon with the doors open or in the middle of winter with the fire on.

No food but a cracking wet pub! The barman was very professional and he popped my hernia back in which was kind of him. You can get a handful of loose mini eggs for 20p – proper inflation buster.

Can't argue with this place it is definitely value for money food wise. The pub is more average local than country pub so people shouldn't expect frills and fine dining. Great place to catch up with friends and family and have a bit of tasty, good size and low priced food.

We were made most unwelcome when we popped in for a drink upon moving here. Said we had just moved to the area so thought we'd give our new local pub a try & ordered a drink each. The response was literally a grunt, no welcome to Toftwood or anything. We never returned and have no desire to after the welcome we received there. Beer was pricey too, only got a few coppers from a tenner for 2 pints and it was 18 months ago.

Veggie Burgers from Big Boi's are very tasty, mine was cooked to order and perfection. There are many choices of fresh toppings. Such a brilliant idea to have the burger unit sited in such a spacious area in these tough times! Well done The Millies 👍

a Wednesday lunchtime when we popped in for a bite to eat.We were greeted by lovely friendly people.We had a nice coffee first and were offered piri piri chicken cooked fresh which was ok for us.We were delighted when it came to the table.Well presented,lots of chicken,rice,chips and a gorgeous salad.The meal was superb and the staff were so nice.Thankyou smile ,we will see you next time we visit dereham.

Great experience, food was hot, nice and quickly brought out. They did make a mistake by forgetting to put my burger on tray. But they were quick to resolve and actually gave me hot food. They kept busy by clearing tables when they noticed customers finished. Being polite it is everything you should expect but to actually get it is excellent. It was clean too.

Don't expect your order to be right. Ever. Used this McDonald's on multiple occasions. NEVER receive any of the ordered dips. Wrap flavour was wrong. Burger was asked to be plain and was not. Have previously received 3 chicken selects instead of 5, and normal nuggets instead of spicy nuggets.

I placed my order at the drive through at 01.23 and was asked to wait in the car park, I asked where in the car park and got told anywhere. While waiting at least another 5 cars pulled in the car park waiting for orders. By 1.45 all the other cars had received their orders so I decided to go into the restaurant. When I entered nobody acknowledged me until I shouted a member of staff, I explained what had happened and asked where my order was to be told oh! At this point I requested a refund as I was very annoyed and the bloke just walked off. It took a further 5 minutes during which I was told it was being dealt with before my food was brought to me (so now 01.50) and told there's your order and I couldn't have a refund. At this point I left the restaurant as I was beyond angry. Absolutely disgusting service and won't be returning.

It's fast food service, it's never a wow as sometimes items are missing or youre waiting 25 mins for your food but it's one of those. We dobt use often at all, couple times a year. Young staff but all seem friendly still. No issues with staffing just speed could be better.

Ordered breakfast for delivery as a treat for the kids. When order turned up it was missing hash browns and was all cold and soggy.

They never get your order right especially on delivery. They are rude like you're an inconvenience to them if you ask them to correct their mistakes. The food is always cold

I made my order on the ordering machine, I went for the Fish & Chips, my eldest daughter went for a chicken burger ( 2 for £15 deal) and my two youngest had chicken nuggets with waffles, and fish fingers with waffle fries! (Kids eat free which also comes with a drink!) Whilst we waited for our food the children was occupied with the books & colouring offered in the children’s section. The lady who brought our food over was smiley polite and interacted with my children as a mum with a child with Autism this made me feel at ease in this environment and she made my children feel comfortable, as some roll there eyes and think she’s just too much. The food was lovely! We will definitely be back for more!

I find myself with an increasing waste band on account of my frequent visits to Morrisons Cafe in Dereham. The whole experience is memorable from start to finish. You’re greeted with a welcoming smile, and never having to wait very long to place your order. Then when your chosen choice of meal arrives, it looks appetising, and ready to eat. I have found that nothing has ever been too much trouble, and the staff always go over and above the call of duty, this is especially appreciated as I’m one of your disabled customers. I did ask on one occasion to speak with the cafe manager, his name was Mark, so that I could convey my thanks and gratitude for providing a vital service to Morrisons hungry customers, and the local community too, as I know of many old folk who also come here to eat and socialise. Keep up the good work.

The ordering process is rubbish. Like a McDonalds screen but ten times more difficult to navigate. Then you serve yourself (hopefully people take what they’ve ordered as it would be easy to take more) and the system doesn’t register when an item is out of stock. I ordered a ham salad and was given Ham egg and chips which took an age to rectify. Everyone using the ordering system was moaning about how clunky and difficult it is to find your way around. Not a good move, Morrisons.

Had two fry ups and coffees, were spot on, absolutely lovely and a reasonable price. Fast and polite service too. The ONLY reason they're not getting five stars is the brown sauce isn't daddies or HP, and I thought my fry up was a tiny bit stingy on the beans. That being said, me and the missus left with full tummy's and very happy, will definitely be going again soon. Would recommend to anyone.

My partner and his dad and his children went here today for lunch as it's fathers day.... They had an absolute disgrace of a visit at this cafe. After my partner paid a comment was made that in future they are not welcome as his dad apparently smelt. While they sat there and ate the food they paid for a female worker from the cafe persisted to walk around the table they where sat at EATING. Continuously spraying air freshener and making snid remarks. I think this is absolutely disgusting behaviour frome someone who works within the customer service and food sector and completely dam right disrespectful. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone at all nor would I ever recommend eating here because if they are willing to spray air freshener without a care for the health of there customer let alone were people are eating..... 🤬🤬🤬

A regular visit for me, Friday fish & chips with my wife, kids and grandparents. Excellent quality fresh fish, cooked to perfection and served in generous portions. Pre order for takeaway and good Covid policy / distancing. Now open for seated meals from a good choice menu. Lovely friendly staff. We were returning from Blakeney and were all quite hungry. Wetherspoons was packed and we couldn't get a table so we found Mariners place. It is a very traditional cafe which is clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive too. The food was freshly cooked with good sized portions and we'll cooked. Most of us had the fish and chips with a large mug of tea. The fish was perfectly cooked with thin crispy batter. The chips were some of the best I had eaten which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What impressed me is that they were not greasy at all. The service was quick and the prices very reasonable. It was a Sunday afternoon so it was not that busy but I can highly recommend this cafe and will definitely visit again if we are in Dereham.

Looking for somewhere for lunch where we could sit with the dog. We asked if it was ok to sit outside but wonderful staff insisted we bring her inside and provided her with water and food. They were so friendly and kind and the food we ourselves had couldnt be bettered for quality and value. A lovely welcoming experience. Thanks to the great staff.

Excellent! Food was really good and the staff were super friendly! I was just there with my toddler and they didn't mind us staying a bit longer! They kept our good warm while my husband fed the our child! 👍🏽

Don't know if we picked a bad time, ie. 5pm maybe too close to opening time, but I'd imagined they would have been cooked fresh .... however our fish and chips were quite obviously reheated from lunchtime ..... disgusting 🤮, dried up fish and hard shrivelled up chips .... won't be giving them our custom anymore

I wanted a Saturday night treat so I went to my local chip shop. I was very disappointed. Some of the chips were almost solid in the middle like they hadn't been cooked fully. The sausages were oily and very greasy. The only thing that was nice was the curry sauce. I don't ever complain about things but I had to on this occasion, I was so disappointed. The customer service was rubbish also. I didn't even get a "hello" the man just looked at me until I told him what I wanted. Overall, very disappointing. I will not be returning.

One of the best cooked pieces of cod I've tasted, at quite a reasonable price. Chips were nice; size of the portion on the small side, but most places give way too much anyway. The curry sauce is very good, too. Will definitely be returning!

First I would like to apologies for the inconvenience we caused by coming to your chip shop. The guy serving us was so grumpy and rude! We couldn’t believe it. The service was the worst I’ve experienced for sometime and speaking to others it’s the norm, didn’t realise this, I know now. I thought at least the food would be nice. It was disgusting. My chicken burger was honestly the worst I’ve ever had a dreadfully tasting chicken burger in a dry bun with no butter, no sauce or lettuce. You should be ashamed!

Cheese chips with tomato sauce and a chicken kebab is my favourite. I don't think I've ever had a bad one yet, and I've been using it once a month for 3 years ! Wow I've just realised why I can't fit in my clothes 🙄 awkward 🤔

Going to Dereham so phoned home and asked the Mrs if she fancied a Kebab! Had my youngest with me and he didn’t take much persuasion! Telephoned order and said would be ready in about 10 mins! Turned up and asked to wait as they had just put new kebab slab up! Said don’t worry, don’t mind waiting! Waited 25 minutes and was ready 2 meat and Chips and a Medium Doner for the wife £24.95, bit steep but there ya go! Got home 12 miles away from shop, opened up Doner and WOW! Tiny pita bread and 2 shaving of meat sbout 10” long and a couple of dried up bits at the bottom, all covered up with a mountain of salad! Phoned up, spoke to girl she said they were busy and that must be why! I said I had a picture of it and she said if you come back they would change it! I said logistics meant it was not a great idea to come back! She actually asked me what I wanted to do then! She said she would take my name and number and next time I called in they would give me kebab for free! Not really free though is it! Not sure when I’m ba CV k that way but we will see! I really think the whole meal agsin as me and the boy gave the Mrs some meat from ours so we all had smaller meals! To be honest, the one that put the meat in should be sacked and hold head in shame! Must have k own how little was going on the kebab! £7.50, what I joke! I’ll see you in a couple of weeks Star Kebabs and maybe I’ll have a better review! Have to say it’s the first time and the Mrs had a great one a few weeks earlier 😩😡

We were told 20 mins wait 45 mins later, ask for lamb and chicken donor combination got hard lumps of chicken which I fed to the dogs, lamb meat was tough ,the chilli sauce has no resemblance to chilli at all. Won't be going again.

Menu not updated on line says 19.99 for 2x 14 inch pizza now 24.99 so sick of this place food cold and items missed or wrong from order. Star ok used yo be great 20 yrs ago would bother with this place now.

Kebabs now come large or small ? Not a fixed regular price, nor size ? The grilled meat was unfortunately really tough & the product was excessively expensive for what was received from a small back street take-away.
