Nice - pretty typical modern day cafe come cake shop. And while the Chelsea buns may have the same recipe, the way the sugar coating is done nowadays is just not what it was. Fairly average coffee too by modern day standards. Still 4 stars though because I am a picky so and so and you may well find coffee and buns are splendid!

A charming and bustling bakery in Cambridge, best known for its famous Chelsea buns. I ordered a sultana raisin scone served with jam and clotted cream, along with a cup of coffee. The scone was beautifully crisp on the outside, while the cream was rich and indulgent — absolutely delicious. I shared a few Chelsea buns with my friends, and they were every bit as good as their reputation. Although the café was busy, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were served. The lively atmosphere made it the perfect place to enjoy good conversation over excellent pastries. A must-visit spot when in Cambridge.

We visited Fitzbillies on a busy Sunday afternoon — it was packed (as expected!) but we managed to get a table without too much waiting. The ordering system is done through your phone, which was convenient overall, though one of the hot drinks was a bit tricky to find on the menu. Of course, we had to try the famous Chelsea bun, and it didn’t disappoint — beautifully sticky, sweet, and rich. They even provided extra golden syrup to pour on top, which was a nice touch. The cappuccino looked great and was well presented, though it could’ve had a bit more depth of flavour. We also had a savoury snack of whipped feta and chickpeas, this was nice but 4 crackers was not enough. The staff were friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. Overall, a good experience and definitely worth a visit if you’re in Cambridge — especially for the Chelsea bun!

The place is a nice and charming restaurant that feels more like a café. The staff were very pleasant, which created a welcoming atmosphere. The interior also looked attractive and interesting, so the first impression was positive. However, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered their famous Chelsea Bun, but it turned out to be too sweet and not tasty for me. It was disappointing compared to the appealing look of the place. Next time I will choose something different from the menu if I happen to visit again, as the experience with this dish was not satisfying.

Came here to check out the iconic Chelsea buns. They were great and lived up to its expectations. Others may find it too sweet for them, but I think it’s a matter of preference and I can appreciate it! We then saw they did afternoon tea, so we tried it: Sandwiches were poor and lacked flavour. Scones were huge (easy split 1 between the 3 of us), and the jam was great. Red velvet cake was amazing. Others were average. Service was really friendly but completely disorganised. Asked for water but never came (mistakes happen, so it’s ok). But while a male waiter was bringing in loads of fresh cutlery, he kept lobbing it in their containers and was constantly making ridiculous amounts of noise. No music was playing and generally the cafe was extremely noisy, given that it wasn’t very busy. Atmosphere was nonexistent. I recommend purchasing your Chelsea buns (as they are worth it) from the bakery beside to takeaway and avoid the cafe. You are not missing much. Value is also on the high side for the quality.

We honestly do not understand how this chain can be so busy, since their flagship pastry is a bun with disappointing hints of whatever flavour they promise. We would not be trying this again. It might be catering for the English palette. The interior design is as dull as they come. The only positive is the generally friendly staff.

Can't rate this place highly enough! They accommodated my request for a specific table, even though we booked quite late, and our slightly awkward changes to standard dishes were dealt with easily and with a smile. The service was fantastic, the food fabulous, and there is a nice choice of non-alcoholic drinks, so we could have some sparkling dealcoholised wine. Would absolutely recommend thst you eat here if you're in Cambridge!

Fabulous Food! This was a great find for us with my family. We were looking for a place that was dog friendly were we could eat outside this summer. The Chop House was perfect. The food was fabulous, they were really nice with our dog (even bringing water in a bowl and the view is incredible. The menu was also large enough to suit all the difficult taste of the four of us. Highly recommended!

Ate here on 4th Nov. Service was lovely, friendly and inviting. Food was delicious. I had set menu 3 courses for £29 which was excellent value and included haggis fritters, treacle cured pork ribeye and dark chocolate delice. Husband had full menu with scallops, rump steak and sticky toffee pudding. Couldn't fault food or service.

Absolutely amazing! One of the highlights of my trip. Coming to the Cambridge Chop House for a Sunday roast was the best decision I made - it completely redefined my view of English cuisine. Now, when I think of English food, I think of their beef Sunday roast. The interior is warm and cozy and its location in the heart of Cambridge makes it perfect for a relaxed lunch after exploring the city. The team is incredibly kind and welcoming. I recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting for Sunday roast. Portions are generous, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Had an amazing dinner here this weekend, ordered the rib-eye for mains and it was superb, fat beautifully rendered and very delicious with all the trimmings on the side. Wine was lovely too. Service was nice also despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Only thing that could have made the experience better is if our special occasion note on our booking would have been perhaps acknowledged throughout our meal. Although I would definitely still recommend!

Modern Pub Working hard to write reviews for the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this restaurant. The restaurant is much bigger than I expected. The modern style attracts a lot of young customers. The portion sizes are quite small in terms of the prices. It's not the cheapest pub in the town centre. The food had slightly higher quality than Bath House, Eagle and Baron of Beef. But more expensive than them. But it looks very modern and clean, with big toilets. The service was good. As a reminder, this pub didn't provide chicken Sunday Roast on the day I visited. I suggest you check the menu in case you really want to have chicken Sunday Roast.

Decent scotch egg. Sunday roast’s meat is alright but everything else on the plate is nice. The famous scotch egg did not disappoint— one of the best I’ve had. Mixed to a more chewy texture but not tough. Prominent sage and other herbs’ flavor. Slightly fatty so half per person is perfect :3 The sweet-tart apple sauce is very refreshing and delightful, though I sometimes forgot to dip in it because of the nicely seasoned egg itself. Roast beef seems overcooked. Only a hint of pinkness. Slightly tough but still tolerable. The beef flavor is good. Yorkshire pudding is fluffy and not greasy at all, though I hope it can be a little more eggy. Veggies are nice— especially the parsnip is cooked to perfect. The gravy is subtle and not overpowering. Fried calamari and prawn is not too heavy and the chili mayo is also lovely even fr a non-mayo person. I don’t drink but really appreciate the beer board with all the information :> The staff is friendly and the place is more spacious than I imagined. I really appreciate the young lady for adjusting our bill to the Sunday 2-course.

Worst Sunday Roast Ever!!!!! Worst Sunday roast I've ever had. I don't normally put reviews, but honesty, this place doesn't deserve one start. My boyfriend and I ordered the Sunday roast (pork belly and beef). Both our plates were drowned in a greasy, overly salted gravy. Burnt potatoes and overcooked pork belly. The service was not better than the food. Having the waitress leaving the card reader machine to insert our cards on the table and telling us to do it ourselves. I have never seen this before!! I'm not sure whether we look to touristy for the place or if the service is always like this. I have ended up with food poison in the station on our way back to London. I'm glad there were open public toilets opened Make yourself a favour and avoid this place.

The Sunday Roast I had was smaller than expected. It was a bit on the salty side, and I didn’t particularly enjoy the sauce. Others at the table had the halloumi fries and said they tasted quite good. Our waiter was very friendly, but we had to wait quite a while for our food, especially the desserts, which we ordered after the mains. The toilet is located on the top floor, which could be an accessibility issue for some visitors.

Lovely modern decor, friendly staff, impressive selection of ales and lagers. The hummus with chilli oil and crispy chickpeas with flatbread was incredible and the fried prawns and calamari were a very generous portion.

Fantastic city center pub! The chef was incredibly kind and went out of their way to adjust my meal to suit my preferences, which is rare these days. The food was delicious, and the beer selection was excellent. Our server, a lovely New Zealander, was amazing—so attentive, with a fun and vibrant energy that made our experience even better. She was incredibly helpful, and honestly, she deserves a raise! I highly recommend The Pint Shop—definitely worth a visit!"

This doesn't look much from the outside but it's an absolute gem... incredibly excellent food, we had a private room upstairs for a friend's birthday and the young lady who served us was superb. Highly recommend the Indian chicken pie.

A randomly selected North African-style restaurant It's really hard to imagine what comes up just based on the ingredients, allergens and cooking methods provided on the menu 😋Fortunately, I didn't make a mistake. The mutton, beef and fish I chose were all super flavorful. As for the main course, I highly recommend that pancake. It's a hundred times better than crushed rice 🥹Appetizer: a plate of pickles. Salt is free. 💔It's unpleasant that the business in the store is so good that we were urged to make way in 10 minutes before we finish our meals.

Very tasty food. Our dishes were especially fresh and healthy. Ambience is great. The restaurant has low cushioned seats, is lined with thick fabrics, and is nice and warm; you feel transported to another world. Attentive and helpful staff. I like that there is no alcohol on the menu. We got a small pot of mint tea which complemented our meal. The Arabic style eton mess dessert was divine. I also think it is great value for money

Orded the prawns for the starter. The lamb and the marinated chicken as main. Lamb shank is so tender that it fell off the bone easily. All the dishes were full of rich spice aromas. and the bread tasted amazing with the sauce. The mint tea is refreshing. Great food.

Incredible experience, the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We enjoyed every dish we ordered: The roast chicken (Djedj M’hamer), Tagine Kefte and Tagine Berkook. All the dishes were deliciously aromatic and very well presented. The service was incredible, the staff anticipated our needs and were beyond polite and friendly. The atmosphere transported us to another world. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!

Myself and my partner visted last Saturday night. The place was packed out, which gave a great atmosphere. The staff were clearly very busy but that didn't impact the level of service at all, they were very attentive and didn't miss a beat. The food was delicious, all cooked beautifully with mouth watering seasoning. The pita and hummus while we waited for mains was a perfect little nibble while waiting for the main event. I had grilled aubergine, tomatoes and feta, which was very tasty. My partner at the lamb meatball tagine, which he said was really well seasoned and very filling. The restaurant was generous enough to let us try a piece of complimentary brownie with mint ice cream, which was a total joy! Warm, gooey and decadent, as you should expect from any great brownie. 10/10 would do again

Had a fantastic Moroccan dinner, food was really tasty, perfectly seasoned with subtle spices, huge portions and reasonably priced. We had lamb meatballs, 2 different chicken dishes and a lamb shank stew. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

Highly recommend!! Food was so delicious from starter all the way through to dessert with generous portion sizes (the lamb tagine is sublime!). The restaurant has a great ambience and vibe that makes you feel like you’re sat in a cosy living room enjoying a home cooked meal. The service was also great, all the staff were lovely and when I was full with no space for dessert and asked for one piece of baklava just so I could taste it, they kindly obliged and didn’t charge me for it! That’s great customer service. I’ll definitely be back!

Bitter Stir-fry The rival of this restaurant is the Chinese Canteen. I can understand. We are not in Asia. It's inevitable to adjust the menu to western taste. More chicken than pork options. Or worse, have to swap the original recipe, pork is replaced by chicken. But there are problems in the stir fry ho fan. It tasted bitter. It's the result of putting soy sauce too early while stir frying. It tasted bland. I think the chef only put dark soy sauce for colouring but forget to put soy sauce for saltyness. As a reminder, dark soy sauce(colouring) and soy sauce(saltyness)have different functions. Also, the stir fry was too oily. It is more oily than other Chinese restaurants in Cambridge. Had the same problem like I had experienced in the Chinese Canteen too. I felt very dry and thirsty after eating Yippee for the rest of the day. It's the symptom of consuming food with MSG. But the environment was genuinely clean and tidy. The staff was nice. Hopefully the stir fry will taste better next time so that I can adjust the rating.

Really nice out of the way noodle bar. Staff were friendly and there was a nice general atmosphere. The portion sizes were good and for a reasonable price. Better than a chain restaurants.

Went today and very happy to find this vegan option, the tofu and vegetables noodle soup. The food was served incredibly fast. Big portion, lovely seasoned and not oily. The staff was very kind as well. Will come back!

Stepped away from the craziness of the main shopping street of Cambridge to this quiet location just a few hundred meters from the main shops. Walked passed many times but never been in. Was not disappointed, I had the crispy noodles which was a generous portion. Wife had the beansprouts and tofu, egg fried rice and plain noodles, all was good. I thought the Chicken satay portion was a bit small for the price. That aside, all the food was very good, served nice and fresh by friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

I hadn’t been to this place for about 10 years and I was so happy to see that it’s still as fantastic as it always was. The food at this place is always absolutely top notch. I had my classic favourite, the roast duck with egg fried rice and it was delicious. The salt and pepper squid starter is also wonderful. Also, the staff are really friendly and service is extremely quick.

I'd been here before and had a really lovely meal, and decided to return a couple of weeks ago with husband and daughter on a quiet Sunday evening. The staff were very friendly and mostly really attentive, although the waitress offered us a jug of water, and never reappeared with one - when I asked again about 15 mins later, she nonchalantly said there's no jugs available. My daughter had salads and she loved them, and my husband had beef noodles which were delicious and very flavoursome, and a really decent amount, too. I love prawns and chose the prawn Tom Yum Mai. When it came it contained all of 2 prawns. Two. Plus 2 small fishballs, 2 cubes of mushroom, and an absolute mountain of totally plain noodles in a small amount of watery broth. To be fair I was offered some extra chillis which was great and helped add some taste. I could only eat half of the noodles so I took half the other half home, and next day I added a large amount of prawns, a shedload of vegetables, some spices, a bit of sauce, coriander and more chillis, and it was much-improved. So, a bit of a mixed experience, all in all.

Dining at Vanderlyle is an amazing experience and such a privilege. My partner and I have been 4 times in the last 7 months, and every time we are blown away by the food, atmosphere, and service. We have celebrated our 30th birthdays and our engagement here at the pass, as well as dining during the changing seasons to experience the seasonal menus. I cannot fault this place - the food is absolutely unbelievable: the menu is so creative, and whether it’s something completely novel or something you’ve had before, every bite feels like the best version you’ve tasted of what’s on the plate. We plan to keep coming at least once a quarter to try the seasonal menu, but make sure you set your alarm for a table as they sell out fast! Our favourite restaurant ever!

We had an amazing evening at Vanderlyle enjoying the tasting menu. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with excellent service throughout. Every course was creative, varied, and full of flavour - The oyster mushrooms were a standout for us, and the lemon sorbet was incredible. They also adapted the menu for gluten intolerance without any fuss - amazing gf brioche too! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sublime dining experience!

Food was well presented, visually pleasing and tasted delicious. Service was efficient but not intrusive, the atmosphere was relaxing. Little touches like choice of ceramics to present dishes enhanced overall experience. We are not vegetarians but if we ate dishes like you created everyday., we would be.The cashew parfait was outstanding - I could have eaten it all to myself. We both appreciated the amount of preparation, thought and skill which went into all of the dishes.We will be back!!

Really good food, not like anything I've had before, from cucumber meringue at the start , to apple choux bun at the end it was all delicious. Soft drink pairings worked well too.

My fiancé and I have visited Vanderlyle many times over the span of about 5 years. Everytime we are so impressed and have a lovely experience. I am gluten free and they accommodate my dietary requirements well, providing a gf menu that either closely mirrors or is identical to the regular non-gf menu with absolutely no fuss. We had a delicious dinner for my sister's birthday. It was absolutely incredible food, such interesting and unique flavours, and the wine pairings were done so well. Had an amazing time!

Food was delicious but we waited 40 mins to sit, 20 mins for our order to be taken and an other 40 mins for the food. We were there for 2 hours, and only 20 mins of that was spent eating. We ate under the watchful eyes of hungry customers standing by the door, waiting to eat. The food really was not worth all the wait when there are so many delicious, home made authentic food options on mill road with good service. I strongly urge the owners to hire an extra pair of hands to get food out quicker, seat more people and round off the great food with a decent altogether experience. The food is good and beautifully prepared, all done by hand. Good place to go if it’s quiet.

A super small Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that offers traditional breakfast. Excellent quality and fair prices, but unfortunately, that also means it’s usually very crowded. You should be prepared for a long wait, but it’s definitely worth it! Once you’re inside, plan to take your time as well, since only two people handle everything on their own. I can really recommend the Hundun (馄饨) and pig’s ears (猪耳朵) - both are delicious! Definitely worth a visit!

Went here for a late lunch around 3pm on a Sunday. Waited for about 30mins for a seat, then another 15 minutes for the woman who runs the restaurant to take our order. It was worth it. The dumplings were delicious. The cold spicy spiced beef tendon was mouth watering with a chili oil that paired well with the dumplings. The beef noodles were exceptional in that the noodles were cooked perfectly, with the meat and broth pairing together to all form an incredible dish. The restaurant is cash only. ATM is at the nearby CO-OP.

I had the vegetable soup noodles and the black fungus with chilli oil the black ear fungus was very good and delicious the noodles were yummy and the texture was very good but wish the vegetables had more flavour.

Best steam buns (and most juicy!) I have ever had！！ Don’t think there is a single item in the menu that I wouldn’t order again. Most the time have to queue and wait patiently as all the food is hand made freshly when you ordered, but it’s all worth the wait.

Our favourite restaurant in Cambridge. We visited often when we lived there, and usually tried to arrive just before opening to avoid the long queues. The xiao long baos are a must order. We also loved to get the pan fried dumplings and noodles with minced pork to complete our order for two. The dumplings were consistently crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the handmade noodles had a delicious springy bite. Always good with a soy milk on the side. A must visit in Cambridge !

What a place! We’ve been to Fin Boys a couple of times now. On our first visit, we went for the tasting menu—fantastic. It’s a great way to try a bit of everything, mostly cold dishes, all packed with flavor. The second time, we ordered à la carte and had the bass and gurnard—both perfectly cooked. Jonathan was incredibly helpful with the drinks and recommended the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier blend from Napa Valley. It was spot on. If you’re unsure about wine, just go with that—seriously, you won’t regret it. The food and service are top-notch. If you sit at the bar, you can watch the team prepare everything right in front of you. Fin Boys is perfect for a lunch or dinner date. You’re well taken care of and you leave full and happy.

We had a First Class taster menu tonight. Every course was absolutely delicious. Fresh, interesting courses to remember. The sourdough crumpet with black butter, prawn toast and lobster bisque were stand out but every course was prepared with care and consideration. The fish courses were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The staff were wonderful and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. One of the best taster menus we've had in a long time and would definitely return. You absolutely won't be disappointed!

The food was very fresh and tasty. I had oysters which were plump, juicy and very clean tasting. The lemon sole were of a good size and meaty (fishy). The sauce and flavoured powder which finished the dish slightly overpowered the flavour of the fish, so that was my fault for choosing wrongly off the menu. My husband thoroughly enjoyed both his starter and main. There isn’t much ventilation especially on a very warm summer eve but it won’t stop us returning again.

Given voucher here to enjoy as Xmas treat. The booking system was down when originally organised but called up and booked for Saturday lunchtime and arrived slightly earlier. Very helpful staff and service was quick started with pint of prawns followed with monkfish which saw being cooked in front of me and my partner has cold fish platter. Followed by cheesecake with fresh fruit and cheeseboard was a wonderful lunch experience and thoroughly recommend!!

We went there for a birthday and did the tasting menu. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was cosy and the food and drink selection was immaculate. One of the best fish restaurants I've eaten at in a long time.

One of my best dining experiences ever. The food is truly phenomenal, a real experience, all fresh and made right in front of us. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the service was very smooth and we never lacked anything. There's great attention to detail, with focus on beautiful flavours and sustainability. The drinks - house cocktail and wine - were also amazing. A big thanks to the whole team for an incredible evening!

Small little slice of Italy The Italian dishes they offer are filled to the brim in their take away boxes and get a very good portion for the price you pay. The dishes are very rich and fresh, not mushy or frozen. The staff are very friendly and helpful with our allergies and showed us what dishes were safe to eat for us. The atmosphere is very cosy and refreshing with a small area for seating - no out door seating unfortunately however they do their dishes in takeaway boxes so you could eat it anywhere really. Would highly recommend this place

Italian Pasta The pasta is very generous amount. Everything is made from stretch. Therefore taste much better than pasta from a packet or pasta sauce from a jar. Very rich tasted and firm textured pasta. Behind the bar we could see the production was is strict control. I reckoned it's potion control? The gelato was very generous potion too. So failed to take a photos or the fully filled tub would leak out. Reasonable priced food in large potion. It has a toilet inside the restaurant too. Too bad the restaurant was a bit too small, as the seats are very close to each other. I think it's a good option if you are tired of having fast food or having a tight budget.

I came across this place and tried the pistachio gelato — it’s the best gelato I’ve ever had! It’s full of real pistachio flavour and has a creamy texture. I’m so surprised I didn’t discover this gem earlier.

It was ok but fairly expensive for what it was. Also be prepared to add on minimum 15% service charge for self service. If I went again I would choose no service charge (I almost always tip at least 10%) because I don’t like feeling pressured to tip. But I wouldn’t return. It was over £10 each for our bowls of pasta with tomato sauce and cheese. I don’t think I would mind if I didn’t feel like I had to tip.

If you like pasta, you may try Aromi. This is a very small place but they offer tasty pasta. My favorite one is carbonara. The chef may add or remove somethings for your selection. Since there are a few tables, you cannot book or reserve a table. You may have difficulties if you are a large group. Good for 2-4. I did not wait since my timing is earlier than usual for the dinner.

Absolutely delicious! One of the best BBQ places in Cambridge. We tried the beef burger, ribs, fries and the Carolina BBQ sauce – everything was fantastic. The meat was juicy, tender and full of flavor, and the ribs were just perfect. If you love sweet barbecue sauce, definitely try the Carolina BBQ – it’s rich, smoky and slightly sweet, just amazing! Highly recommended.

Having successfully solved our murder mystery tour of Cambridge taking in the sights our nearest eatery was the Smokeworks... hopefully that won't be a spoiler for anyone about to do the tour! After a little wait for the food once again Martyn picks the wrong dish 😆. I went for the Vianna Beef hotdog. It was okay but wished I'd gone for the Maccy Cheese my partner went for... luckily I was on hand to help out. Very tasty! Would definitely get that next time!

5 stars all day long! Really, really can speak highly enough - staff, be proud you were amazing! Lovely welcome, great explanation of the menu and the cool red attention switch. Great BBQ options, I chose a rib platter with wings. The food was incredible, best wings, well cooked and flavoured rib, even the fries, ohhhh yes! The staff checked in throughout and were just so welcoming. I might have to come back tomorrow! Last comment - peach beer 'brewksi' was real refreshing. Thanks team - great meal.

Love the food here it is just filled with lots of meat cooked to fall off the bone as well as burgers and wings and all sorts. Very nice welcoming staff and fast service. Would definitely come back. It's worth it!

Such a wonderful friendly place. Dining alone and gluten-free can be daunting. But the staff made me feel at home, literally. As an American I was missing home and this was a comfort I needed. They servers went above and beyond not just for me but also for everyone else dining there. I am not a connoisseur of BBQ but have had more than my fair share at home. This place was spot on. Can't go wrong with any option!

Town was buzzing, it was lunchtime and it's been bloody ages since we have visited this little gem of a restaurant - will there be any room at the inn I wondered as we approached? No booking, on a Sunday and at lunchtime is the kinda gamble I go for. The team member of the front desk was fabulous and managed to squeeze us in despite the initial fear of being turned away. What followed was quite simply great food, fabulous service in restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. As always my eyes lit at the delights listed on the menu. What shall I go for today ..... always feel like the big dog at work so the BIG dawg felt right up my street & the good lady wife opted for the Mac n Cheese. Boy oh boy these guys served up a treat. Super tasty with melt in the mouth pulled pork on a bad boy big dog and a mac n cheese made to perfection. If you're reading this contemplating where to eat today then let me tell you plain and simple - look no further you've found the place go. Welcoming customer service and really enjoyable menu options. Well thought out decor and it’s obvious this place is special. One of the best mac&cheese bowls I’ve had which really celebrates it as a comfort food. Pulled pork was top notch and delicious. Might sound funny, but they gave the best ketchup I’ve had in Europe. Why make such a big deal? To me it’s all the details that really demonstrate the care and effort put into this place. Highly recommended!

I recently had lunch at Bread and Meat and really enjoyed everything. I ordered the Topside of British Beef, and it was delicious. The dish came with cold sliced beef steak and some beautifully presented vegetables – everything looked and tasted great. The waiter was a very friendly young man and gave excellent service. Had the porchetta bowl, previous had a porchetta sandwich and would highly recommend! It is a little pricey but they serve exceptional highly quality food which is very tasty indeed! Takeaway or eating in is just as nice. If eating in you may have to wait for a table at busy times as the restaurant is very popular but small however, it’s well worth the wait once you have a table. Will definitely be going back to try something new! Friendly staff!

Wow. I had Bread and Meat on my list for AGES. And I finally got to Cambridge to finally try their sandwiches and they did not disappoint. They have two options, in restaurant or Takeaway. We chose the second option and got the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and the Porchetta Sandwich, Both options were lovely and just the right size to be filling but not overwhelming. The Porchetta was a wee bit dry (I should’ve ordered some gravy) , but was still thoroughly enjoyable. Staff were friendly and caring towards both inside and takeaway guests. Would recommend

I ordered the Porchetta and it tasted SO good. One of the best food I’ve ever eaten the UK (but then again, I don’t dine out much). The pork is so juicy and crunchy. The bread is pefectly baked. Best eaten while warm.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The menu is limited, just as the restaurant’s concept suggests, but every dish is cooked perfectly. The food is incredibly tasty with generous portions, and the service is impressively fast. Decent prices. I do wish the seating area was a bit more spacious and comfortable, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Overall, a fantastic place for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Loveliest little restaurant I had a romantic table for one and struggled with what to order from the menu until one of the staff delivered a meal to the guy next to me. “I want that please!” I had chosen the Phillip cheesesteak ciabatta with poutine on the side There was so much but it was so tasty I struggled on and ate the lot like a good soldier It was absolutely amazing There was a decent variety of canned beers, no draft unfortunately but that won’t put me off going again for sure

The cheese steak is great! The honey soy chicken bowl is great! Really like the portion sizes for the price. My only “complaint” is that the garlic aioli that came with the wedges tasted like it had no garlic.

Dense Ice Cream The shop is always busy. They frequently change their menu, that helps to attract returning customers. The flavours of this time were a bit too sweet for my liking. No matter how many times they change the menu, their ice cream always has very dense texture. It's a very popular shop. Be prepared to queue or scanning their QR code for faster service. Also, the road outside the shop is very busy and narrow. Watch out for the cars and bicycles!

My son has allergies, so it’s always tricky to find gelato or ice cream he can safely enjoy. Often he ends up feeling upset because there’s nothing suitable for him — only parents of children with allergies will truly understand that frustration. Thankfully, Jack’s Gelato was incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though it was busy, the staff didn’t rush us or make us feel like a burden. They were so patient, understanding, and genuinely went above and beyond for my little boy. We were deeply grateful. And the gelato was delicious — rich, gooey, and thick, just the way I love it. If it hadn’t been so tasty, I wouldn’t even be writing this review! It’s already a popular place, but I still want to say — I would highly recommend Jack’s Gelato. There was this really long queue stretching even outside the store's entrance. However, I love the quick collection service for people who know what they want and can get fast-tracked, prioritised service - condition is you have to know what you want, can't have free samples and pay online using the QR code. I did just that, and worth it. I got the coconut and ube vegan gelato, and another one of dark chocolate with sea salt (also vegan). Loved them both. Definitely a great dessert treat for those visiting Cambridge.

Yum! Love it. So delicious. You can get a chocolate dipped cone and it’s very nice. The lavender gelato is the best. When I was 8 I had a lavender ice cream somewhere, and I never found a lavender ice cream again. Every once in a while I would dream of this ice cream… that is until ten years later, once I had discovered the lavender gelato at Jack’s. It healed my inner child and brought me such immense joy, this place has changed my life forever.

The tofu and Chinese chive dumplings were amazing. Really brilliant. Slightly weird that they charged to fry them. The green tea cake was really nice too. Soft, fluffy and sweet.

A very authentic place! I went there to have some warm soup and I have to say that it was delicious. The bowl was very big and we payed around £10 per person. I asked the waiter about some plates and he very enthusiast explaining them and recommending us. Perfect for a cheap and warm soup in the cold winter of Cambridge.

Absolutely fantastic find. Very affordable and incredibly tasty, with wonderful hosting from the owner (we presume). Everything is made freshly in front of you and you can tell. Not loads of space inside but the food comes very quickly, so there's a fairly rapid turnover of customers. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back

Great pizza spot in Cambridge — can’t wait to try brunch! Scott’s All Day is a fun and relaxed spot in Cambridge serving both brunch and pizzas, including Detroit-style and Neapolitan-style. We started with the cheesy garlic bread, which was exactly what you'd want — super cheesy, full of flavour, and the bread itself was amazing. It was my first time trying Detroit-style pizza, so we went for the honey and chorizo crumble. The pizza was rich, perfectly salty, and had a great crust. I wasn’t totally sold on the honey combination, but that’s more personal taste — the overall flavour was still solid. Good value for the quality, and the pizza really hits the spot. Definitely planning to come back to try their brunch menu next time!

The child suggested we come here for lunch and it did not disappoint! Really lovely venue with very friendly staff and magnificent food! The child had the all day breakfast and I had the sausage and egg muffin and both were incredibly tasty, especially the potatoes!! Really enjoyed our visit and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again 👌

Came for the pizza. Stayed for the burger. Had a friend over to visit and were looking for a good lunch spot and Scott's immediately came to mind covering all bases. Great food, good location, dog friendly and kids menu. Winner. Had pizza in mind but when we turned up I saw the Oklahoma smashburger on the menu and had to try it, and so glad I did. Very very good. Happy faces all round the table and great to see these guys so busy and so well supported by the local community and beyond. Definitely recommended.

This really was one of the best meals I’ve ever been for! All the courses were delicious. I’m vegetarian and even though it’s not a speciality vegetarian restaurant they were amazing. Amazing chefs and all the staff were so friendly and put you at ease. It doesn’t feel too formal. Just a nice place for people who care about food.

We came for lunch and had booked a few weeks in advance. Food was amazing - I can see why the ratings are so high! The fowl leg was incredibly juicy and tender, the moules marinieres came in the most creamy delicious sauce and the cod was beautifully crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tartare sauce it came with was a bit flavourless but aside from that, no complaints - and the plating of everything was lovely. Really recommend trying everything on the menu!! Restaurant itself is quite tiny but it meant the ambience felt intimate and service was extremely quick and efficient, the food came out without much of a wait. Also love how the service charge is incorporated into the menu as well. Incredibly hard to get a meal of this quality for this price anywhere else!!

Fancett’s is an excellent restaurant that uses very fresh ingredients and expert techniques to make delicious food that leaves you feeling full and satisfied. The service was lovely and the restaurant nicely decorated. It was a great date spot and I will definitely be coming back again in the future.

We foolishly walked in here at 6pm without a reservation and miraculously got a table. All the other tables were reserved and filled up quickly. Now we know why: the food, the wine, and the service are all incredible. Our server Alfie was knowledgeable and fun. I hope we can return (we will make a reservation next time!)

Good quality food for a fair price. I had their three course lunch for just under £50. I added on a foccacia to start, which was warm, and pillowy soft on the inside. The cod roe appetizer, however, was a bit of a let down as the dip tasted one-dimensional. Although the vegetables were fresh, the choice to place them within the dip made it slightly awkward to eat as they were all competing for space. The beer battered cod was quite nice. The batter was crunchy and flavourful with a hint of curry. The fish was soft, flaky, and paired well with the tartar sauce. I also loved the mushy peas underneath which added a fresh sweetness to the dish. Lastly, the rice pudding dessert. This was my favourite. The rice was plump, soft, and had a wonderfully creamy and decadent vanilla flavour. The strawberry sorbet and sauce provided a lovely sweetness and the crunch from the almond nougatine was a great touch. An absolutely wonderful end to my meal. Service was quick, friendly, and not too intrusive. The dining atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. The decor was light and stylish. I would be happy to visit again to try out more of their options!

Good service but the food is not up to the standard . The staff is warm catering and knows the menu well. They managed to pair the wine and dessert wine to my liking. Their service is always gentle and patient. The overall atmosphere is very chill with the right lighting for the food. I have seafood and poultry, which are perfectly cooked to the right degree. Every single ingredient is carefully cut and the freshness of its flavor is well persevered. BUT that is all... The orchestration of flavor is either boring or confusing. Appetizers have too many different flavors, which doesn't blend well. The souffle is pretty much a disaster. Usually souffle is meant to be light and airy for several minutes. But after that, it is expected to collapse, get dense and a bit disgusting. Knowing all these, I have never expected a restaurant to serve freshly disgusting souffle from minute one. My guess is that the content they are trying to add to the souffle is too dense. Probably raisin soaked in alcohol. The alcohol will destroy the supporting power from the egg white (which is already little to begin with!) and of course the raisin is so heavy that it basically dragged everything sinking to the bottom. So that's what we get. A caky case with slimy egg sauce in the middle. Only good for Instagram. After all, I still have a great night there. The ingredients are still good enough. And I really like the staff.

I do wonder if recent reviewer (Duy Tan Do) isn’t aware of the uniquely British types of beer that this pub sells a lot of & has an award-winning reputation for? (apologies if I’m mistaken on this). If you’re used to drinking the regular colder, fizzier keg beers found across the world & especially mainstream lagers, then UK cask beer (real ale) will certainly seem warmer & flatter, but this is by design & not a flaw😊

Italian Restaurant The starters were okay. The arancini was coated with lovely fine breadcrumbs but unfortunately it was not hot inside. The Ragu pasta was nice. But the balance of the lasagne was not good. The lasagne sheets, beef, cheese and tomato sauce were not in a good proportion. I couldn't taste the cheese and beef fillings at all. To me it's just thick pasta sheets coated with loads of tomato sauce. The restaurant and toilets were clean. But the toilets are very small and narrow. My short legs failed to reach the mini garage bin that was put deeply inside the toilet room. Seeing the good reviews of other customers, maybe what we ordered were not they were good at. Or it's just my taste. Who knows.

Greeted immediately, very warm and pleasant staff. I had the pasta special which was exceptional and my husband loved the tagliatelle ragu. Topped off by delicious wine 🍷 would highly recommend.

My partner had the bolognese; the pasta was cooked really well and the bomognese was about as exciting as bolognese can be. The food wasn’t average — it didn’t even make it that far. The lasagna? Avoid at all costs. The seafood pasta? More like raw ocean on a plate :) The manager’s attitude? Let’s just say he skipped “rude” and went straight for something worse. In short: I’d recommend it… if there were anything to recommend. Don’t even glance at this place as you walk by.

Great place which is deceptively large given the small frontage. Staff are very friendly and service is good. We can recommend the goats cheese fritter starter and the sea bass from the main menu with the chilli green beans.

Surprisingly Good Trying to review different restaurants therefore entered this restaurant. The menu was quite limited, but nothing wrong to focus on things that you are good at. The food portions were very generous. I was impressed that the side had a variety of stuff inside. The side made the food more colourful and interesting. Not just some boring iceberg lettuce as a side salad like Honest Burgers does. The main was generous in portions too. The flatbread was heavily loaded with trunks of juicy meat. It was a nice restaurant with a reasonable price. With good service and good environment.

We randomly popped in as it was in the way from the station to the centre and i was wanting a nice breakfast. I was looking at breakfast places the previous day and they were either greasy or missing items I like. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw an English breakfast on this menu. And it comes with 3 hashbrowns! The staff was friendly as well. A good start to the day!

We had a lovely experience, the waitress was very helpful walking us through the menu, food was fresh and lovely as it was described. Portions were in reasonable size and volume. The place is cool! An old bike shop! It had good air conditioning and a calm atmosphere.

The food was good, specially the pochetta, it was definitely the best of all. Great meat flavour. They surely have good desserts too and my choice (English cheese) was both a bit pricey and not so good. Maybe other desserts are. The service was great and it wasn't too long until they brought the food.

No where near enough bacon and the sausage tasted weird to me. Bailey’s coffee was also a lot for the size. Jas was very friendly though.

Good pub food in the part of town with less footprint. Well worth going that little bit further to find a quiet corner & have a drink or bite to eat. The back yard was a nice surprise. We really enjoyed our visit.

Simply the worst roast dinner l've ever had. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were inedible and very obviously reheated in a microwave. It's hard to muck up roast meat, but even that hadn't been seasoned properly. There was plenty of it though. Biggest clue of a bad meal; flavourless gravy slopped over the whole thing. The food took 35-40mins to arrive. Then we had to wait a further 5-10 for the cauliflower cheese, after chasing up twice. The reviews on here have obviously been left some time ago and even one of the other patrons commented on how it used to be a fantastic roast dinner, but was no longer the case. Hopefully more recent reviews catch-up and other potential diners don't make the mistake I did. Avoid this place at all costs.

We recently visit the Clarendon Arms and wanna share some amazing experiences. On Thursday they have 2-for-1 cocktail deal and we love it!!! We tried some Tapas and it was fantastic!! Shoult out to Giancarlo, the bartender and co-manager who prepared the restaurant for us!! Excellent service provided super friendly guy!! We will be coming back!!!

I've tried to be generous with my star rating. Booked for lunchtime meal for 10, Inc 2 babies. They had no room and weren't ready for us. The boss had 'gone out' and left staff to struggle. We eventually made our own space and moved our own tables. Then we waited.... For staff to take our order for drinks. Music drowned out any conversation we tried to make. The food order took for ages to arrive and the first served were finished before the last got theirs. Their idea of rare meat was infact overdone. The experience was unpleasant and disorganised. The staff did try but we're clearly overworked, they apologised in full knowledge that it wasn't what was expected. I guess we've got the pubs boss to thank.

What seemed like an ordinary burger turned out to be an unexpectedly delicious surprise. We hadn’t planned to eat here at first — the restaurant next door was full, so we decided to give this place a try, and we’re so glad we did. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a balance of textures that made every bite satisfying. It was one of those rare moments where a spontaneous decision turned into a hidden gem discovery. The staff were kind, the atmosphere cozy, and we left already talking about coming back. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you never planned for.

I thought I'd try an independent burger place rather than hit one of the chains but this place isn't somewhere I'd return. I had the basic burger and it was distinctly average overall and in this instance poorly executed (with a heavily over-salted patty as well as over-salted pickles). Service was fine but a bit lifeless and sad. Tunes were too loud and selected from the standard hairdresser fare. I was delighted to see my all-time favourite, Bearnaise sauce, on offer (from steak menu) to go with my fries but the chef refused to serve it unless it was ordered with a steak, even though it was a separately ordered menu item (and thus removing one of the potential high points of this otherwise slightly sad lunch). 23 quid for fries (which were decent), burger and one coke.

Great spot for burgers and craft beer (saw someone have a steak and that look good too) located in a basement resturant. There's quite a few tables at the rear of the restaurant, so dont be put off if it looks busy when you first go down the stairs. The beef and chicken burgers were very tasty with some nice options. 6 craft keg beers when we visited offering a good range of styles and a cider on offer (there was an 8th tap not in use), plus the usual other drinks available.

The vibe was great upon arriving. However our waitress switched with a new person and left her alone. I had to flag her down to let her know we hadnt been helped. Shes only been working a week which i understand, however management shouldnt leave someone that new alone. I asked for a steak and salad with dressing on side. I told her i was allergic to honey and was informed the dressing has honey and she never came back. I flagged her again and asked if they could do a saucer of olive oil to place on my salad and she said she'd ask if they have olive oil. A steak place not having oil? Weird. She never came back and again waved her down. She said they couldnt do olive oil for a salad so i said ok so no salad then. She acted confused because she had palced the order with dressing! Even tho i told her i was allergic to honey! So here i am. With an overpriced piece of meat with nothing else. My husband has a burger which we assumed came with chips. The server was struggling and the place left me severely disappointed. Sadly wont be coming back after our experience.

This week my friend and I ate dinner there. We had a very good meal with fries and it was very delicious and worth the price. The atmosphere and the restaurant was very beautiful. To go to the restaurant you have to go downstairs so it is not wheelchair friendly.

Have been doing a tier list of restaurants and food spots. Alphabetically A-Z and B for Butch Annie’s. Was absolutely amazing scran. It’s currently top 1 by a distance with only 5-6 places left to go! The Jack is just phenomenal. Amazing customer service, waitress’ were kind, quick and helpful which made the experience that much better. Have been back since and will be travelling just to return once again. Atmosphere was nice, peaceful but not silent, overall look of the place was nice and cosy, American booth vibes. Dark and warm. Would spend around 15-40

A solid 4.5. Wonderful environment. Lovely people. Good enough dishes to choose from. The potatoes that come with the lamb loin smell good at the moment the dish arrives. The lamb itself, as some comments mentioned, is on the dryer side, but still not too tough to be cut by a normal knife. And it’s a lean chunk of protein. The charred part is enjoyable. The carrots and asparagus are tasty, and the gravy is one of the best I’ve had, not greasy and adequately savory with umami. Schnitzel and duck breast and even salmon udon look nice.

So chilled and so welcoming. I have to admit that I love this place. It's perfect for families and exceptional for friends. The food is extremely good. And for the price I expect nothing less. I highly recommend this place!

Perfect, just perfect! Crispy fish & chips, but still juicy fillets and the sauce was great. By the way they serve you a giant fish. It was bigger than the plate! (which was full very big and deep and it was overflowing with potatoes, peas) Scotch egg was warm, soft and delicious! My friend eats everything with a piece of bread, so the waiter brought out a bog pile of toasted baguette slices on the house! As an artist I adored the antique atmosphere! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! It's a must-visit!

The moment you enter by the door, you feel the nice ambiance. Young staff who cares in all the details of the restaurant. Very helpful and friendly The food is lovely, kind of pub food, but with a haute cuisine touch We can't wait to come back on our next trip to Cambridge.

We visited as a group for a get together. We had booked, but this was not necessary this time. Previous visits the pub had been busier. There is a good selection of beers, some traditional hand pulled beers and now some craft beers as well. Selection of lagar on offer. Good was ordered, arrived. Noi complaints from anyone. I had a burger and chips which was spot in.

Burger and Fries It's an American style burger restaurant. It has quite a lot of similar rivals around the area. Honest Burgers is one of the rivals. The restaurant has a very limited menu, fries are the default side for the burgers. No salad or coleslaw. Limited cutlery for customers. No wrapping papers for the burgers. You have to eat everything with your hands. I can understand, the rent of the location is not going to be cheap. At least there are tissues on each table and a clean toilet available. The tables and seats are clean. Quiet environment. The food was in generous portions. Everything was freshly made for every order. Hot served. You would get more than you have paid for. Waiting was not long. Very efficient. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from outside.

Hands down the best burger in Cambridge (and perhaps in the U.K.). I learned about this burger joint through a delivery app called “Foodstuff,” which only works and partners with local restaurants (no chains). As it turned out, this restaurant is located right at the city centre of Cambridge, very close to my work. I am from Latin America and my journey for a decent burger in the city had been largely unsuccessful (and disappointing). After trying several pubs and burger chains, I could simply not find a single one that offered the bare minimum: a tasty and juicy burger patty cooked perfectly (medium or medium-rare). I was on the verge of giving up on burgers for good when I found Steak & Honour. This restaurant made me a believer again. It is certainly the best burger I had in Cambridge (and, I dare to say, in the country) and is totally worth a visit. My only criticism is that the fries were too salty. Other than that, everything was perfect! Please note that seating is available upstairs.

Came here for dinner. The guy who served us was really helpful in making a decision. The meat and ingredients seemed to be really good in quality. I had the “Some Like It Hot” with the homemade jalapeño sauce. It was really good. The sauce was a bit too strong and inky left little space for the meat and cheese flavours. Fries really nice! The “one for ella” burger wAs more of my taste and I really like it. A lot simpler, but also quite balanced. The sauce was delicious. Good selection of craft beers and 3 floors to dine in. Good stop! Reasonable price and quick service. Also good music selection is always a plus!

My recent visit left me with mixed feelings. While the service was quick and efficient, the overall experience wasn’t the best, since I went in with high expectations based on the reviews posted online! The highlight of the meal was the crispy fries. However, the burger itself wasn’t that tasty. The patty was noticeably overcooked and dry, lacking the juicy tenderness that one would expect from a quality burger. The cleanliness of the tables were a bit off-putting. We noticed crumbs and stains scattered across the surfaces.

I was a loyal customer of this place when they first opened and made a beeline back here after having lived abroad for the last few years. The quality and flavor of the locally sourced beef is really quite amazing, and I was pleased to find that it hasn’t changed a bit. I really appreciate the attention to detail with different flavors and ingredients. Also, they have a really great beer selection! Enjoy!!

✓ Vegetarian & Vegan Options WHAT WE HAD: One for Ella [£10] – Brioche bun, Beef patty, smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, onion, gherkin and burger sauce; Check the Pulse (Vegetarian) [£10] – Brioche Bun, Bean Burger, Beetroot Pickle, Onion, lettuce and sauces; Sweet Potato Fries [£4] The last time I had Steak and Honour was years ago when they only sold out of their food truck. Back then, I loved their beef burgers in brioche bun. So simple but juicy and flavourful, just no nonsense beef burgers done right with quality ingredients. Last December was my first visit to their store. I am Vegan now but I went there as I was with my mum. She enjoyed the One for Ella (Beef Burger) but wasn’t impressed by it. So, I can’t make a fair assessment whether there is a difference in quality. The Check the Pulse Veggie Burger I had was just ok. Not the best bean patty I had (and was quite thin to me), but overall flavourful and I liked the beetroot pickle. There is two more floors of seating upstairs so shouldn’t be a problem getting a table. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was generally kept tidy and clean, with a bright atmosphere.

By far the best burgers in Cambridge!!! The milk bun is soft and delicious. The patty’s are so tasty and the bacon tastes like maple syrup. Everything about this place is fantastic - 10/10 recommend

Lovely cafe run by a couple who are extremely sweet and polite. Great savoury and sweet options available. Pogaca was delicious. The Turkish coffee with Turkish delight was wonderful. But the baklava cheesecake takes the cake to wrap up a delightful sunny Sunday morning. The tables are designed in a rustic fashion. Please do visit. It was a brilliant experience.

Great little place offering Turkish breakfast options and it is walking distance to city centre. We have tried their blue sage special breakfast which was a great interpretation of a traditional Turkish breakfast. Everything we got on the plate was delicious and fresh. The bread that was served with the breakfast was also very tasty. The service was very kind and friendly as well, would definitely visit again.

Accepts credit/debit card payments: Amex, Mastercard and Visa. Parking may be an issue, it is situated on a street with many other shops and restaurants, we had to find a side street. The cafe is also quite small - it was quite busy so we were lucky to get the last table.

Every bite had the perfect mix of textures and flavors — sweet, nutty, and just the right hint of spice. It’s a brilliant twist on a classic dessert and truly unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to treat themselves to something special!”

The venue is impressively spacious, with well-spaced tables that make for a comfortable dining experience. The décor is thoughtfully done, and the service was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We were celebrating a birthday and ordered a generous amount of food — perhaps slightly too much — but everything was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The quality and authenticity of the dishes really stood out, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough. A few minor drawbacks: despite having a reservation, we had to queue for about 10 minutes to be seated. Last food orders also came around quite early, which felt a little rushed. The only disappointment with the food was the octopus dish — while the takoyaki (octopus dumplings) had delicious truffle shavings, the octopus itself was barely detectable, which left the dish feeling a bit underwhelming. That said, the rest of the meal was outstanding: * Seared scallops (3 pcs) – perfectly cooked and full of flavour * Kinko & greens itsame – hands down the best vegetable dish I’ve ever had - broccoli, mushrooms, and pak choi in an incredible sauce * Sushi surf and turf – absolutely delicious salmon and wagyu and beautifully balanced * Furikake seasoned rice – simple, flavorful, and a perfect side * Fried prawns – crispy * Chicken katsu curry – best quality chicken I’ve ever had in a katsu; tender and perfectly cooked * Wagyu Zukushi sharing platter – the highlight of the night! Rich, flavourful, and exactly what we came for. This alone will bring us back. To top it off, the birthday surprise — a slice of cake with a sparkler — was a lovely, subtle touch for someone who hates a big public fuss. We’ve already recommended this place to friends, and we’ll definitely be returning. Bonus points for the Grand Car Park just two streets away — very convenient for city dining.

Excellent Teishoku Set Menu, highly recommend trying this for lunch as we did for my wife's birthday at her request. Lovely surroundings altho it has hard floorings. The music is not Japanese and definitely not to my taste (but that's just me!). Something gentle and Japanese would be great! A birthday candle on a slice of chocolate pudding was an extra bonus! The staff even found my wife's earing!

Good food, great service and nice atmosphere. Went there for a birthday. The place was a lot bigger than we expected, and the ambience was nice. The service staff were quite nice too, especially when we inadvertently made a mess. We ordered chef's nigiri selection, chicken shoyu noodle soup, sesame prawn bun and kids chicken Bento box. The noodle soup felt a bit too salty and soggy, but the other dishes were good. They even brought a slice of cake in the end for the birthday girl! We went in with the expectation that it was a slightly pricey place, so the menu prices felt all right. Yet there was a 12.5% service charge at the end, that left a bad taste.

Best sushi i’ve ever had!! And i’ve had a lot! Absolutely amazing atmosphere, food was phenomenal! Lovely staff, the only thing I’d say is that we felt a bit rushed and the tables are small but that’s being picky. Amazing! Definitely coming back!

Very good. The server we had was awesome and did some good recommendations. We did have an issue where we were told we get 2 tiger prawns for the special and only got 1 and that was the servers mistake so gave us an extra as a sign of good will! But £12 a pop. Not worth it. Everuthing else was good execpt the snow crab rolls was too mayo-y and ruined the delicate flavour of the snow crab (couldn't taste it). Quite pricey might be better to just go for ramen and then have some sushi on the side than ball out on just sushi. We spent about £70 each and weren't full. Defo an experience rather than eating to get full.

KIBOU in Cambridge is gorgeous with the interiors thoughtfully done, a cherry blossom tree in the midst of service and nice Japanese vibes all around. The food is fresh and well presented. Wanted to try the wagyu but it was very expensive for a team dinner! Service was very slow and it isn't cheap either. There was a wedding dinner happening on the next table and seems like people drop in here for a special meal or celebration.

Best sushi we’ve found in the local area and London. We’ve been several times and will continue to return. The food is well presented and is delicious. Highly recommended, book in advance!

I recommend this place if you are in Cambridge and want to enjoy a good pizza. Minal and all the staff were very friendly, attentive, and polite. The food was delicious, tasty, and fresh. It's the first time in my life I've tried pizza and pasta at the same time. I don't regret my choice, though. Highly recommended. I will be back ☺️.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pilgrims is a fantastic spot! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are super friendly and attentive. My friend asked for a latte with the milk served separately, and they kindly made it just the way she wanted. The kitchen is open, so you can see how they cook, and everything looks very clean and well organized. The bathroom design is spectacular, and the overall atmosphere is warm and inviting. I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be coming back!

I’d been meaning to call in at a Pizza Pilgrims branch for ages, and finally went to this one a couple of weeks back. To be honest: I kicked myself that I haven’t been sooner. Really friendly, welcoming team. The pizzas were superb and used some great ingredients. Great variety on the menu too. Will happily call in again.

The pizza was absolutely delicious! Best Gluten-free Crust I ever had (see picture). Our waitress Minal was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back!

The Bombay and the surfin toasties were both unique and delicious. Friendly service. Cup of long black wasn’t to my taste but that’s only because I prefer darker roasts over fruity.

Small place, no room for the buggy so I had to sit outside which was still tight with the buggy blocking the door. Barista barely looked at me and I felt like I was in her way. Coffee flavour was nice but the latte I ordered came in a very small cup (maybe 4 oz?) which felt like a rip off given it was full priced. Almond croissant was okay.

The most delicious cheesiest toasties here! I loved the Reuben with pastrami, kimchi, cheese and Korean spice mayo. Top quality sourdough from local bakery Grain Culture.

Urban Larder in Cambridge is easily one of my preferred cafes. Their coffee is absolutely delightful, and I'm a fan of their delectable homemade bakery and pastries. The service here is exceptional, which is why I'm a repeat visitor. Plus, they have some eco-friendly perks: if you bring your own coffee mug, not only do you help reduce disposable cups, but you also receive a discount. Additionally, don't forget to take advantage of their Friday morning special – order takeout coffee before 11 am and enjoy a discount!

Fantastic little cafe with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious snacks and drinks and out of this world toasties. The cafe is quite small with not many seats inside. There is some outside seating which is nice on a sunny day. The coffee is really good, well balanced and the brownies and cakes on offer are amazing. Toasties are amazing. Literally no other word for them. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

A lovely smile to welcome us on a sunny afternoon at this light and airy, basic, rustic Mill Road cafe. We sat outside in the sunshine at one of their little tables watching the world good by whilst enjoying a flavoursome latte (excellent, would recommend) a chai latte a toasty and a crumble slice. All very tasty. Great find.

Healthy food at bright and airy cafe, tucked in a green neighborhood. The men doesn’t say much but rest assured the food tastes good :) Smoked salmon open rye sandwich with “a little bit of salad”— somehow both larger than it looks on the counter XD The bread is nutty and naturally sweet and moist melts in mouth. I don’t usually eat mayo but the horseradish mayo is light. The salmon comes in generous portion and again more than it appears. Love the salad! Never imagined beetroot and carrot go so well together. The toasted hazelnut is so aromatic. And the goat cheese :D My friend says the americano tastes good so I got a flat white. Balanced with some molasses notes. The lady behind the counter is super friendly ^^

Came for a midweek brunch pick me up, and in all honesty I wanted a bit of a nose at the cookery school! The cafe is small but bright and airy, and really peaceful and quiet as it's tucked away at the back of the Homerton campus. A couple of students were studying on laptops, and there was a class going on next door. Really nice atmosphere (but was a little chilly by the door!) My turkish eggs were spectacular, perhaps best that I've had! Perfect balance of tanginess, creaminess, and a bit of heat. They had a gorgeous display of sweets on offer - I was too full to buy one today but I will definitely be popping in to get a treat next time I'm in the Hills Road area. There's no parking on-site but the Cambridge leisure park is a short walk away. Will definitely visit again!

I had a recent visit to Cookery Cafe and was really impressed by the service. The server at the till was incredibly helpful and took the time to clearly explain the menu and illustrate each item we asked about. Making the ordering a much smoother experience. We ordered the sourdough toast and a sandwich made with their homemade focaccia. While I personally didn’t find the focaccia to my taste, one of the staff kindly offered us a complimentary salted chocolate cookie. It was a thoughtful gesture that really turned the experience around and left a positive impression. The coffee was also well-made and enjoyable. Overall, a good visit with standout service and some really nice touches of hospitality.

Have been to the cafe a couple of times now - a big fan! Some of the highlights include the courgette fritatta and their sourdough sandwiches. They're also very happy to accomodate for dietary requirements. It's cute on the inside and the staff are lovely!

Amazing food! Brunch here is a must- the Turkish eggs are my favourite. The fresh bakes never disappoint too. The cafe is small but you can usually get a table. The staff are lovely and friendly and are willing to accommodate to any need! There is seating outside in the summer. Overall, a great small cafe with a chilled vibe! Haven't been to one of the cooking classes yet but I would love to.

Lovely airy cafe! Fabulous quiche today and friendly service - so fab that I ordered 2 pieces to go, plus 2 pieces of French toast. This came to £28!!!! I questioned this and continue to do so. Maybe rethink takeaway prices?

What am absolute gem of a pub. Stumbled upon this pub whilst wandering wearily. I came to Cambridge from London for the day, and having had a whole day of walking was looking for a little refreshment before getting the train home. I must admit, I did step in feeling it had a bit of a social club type of feel to it, but my fears were soon dissipated. All of the patrons were cheerful and smiley, Jenny the bartender was friendly and very helpful with suggesting a nice IPA for me. A huge choice of ales here and also a separate menu of Belgian beer if that is your fancy. I will definitely be dropping in here again next time I visit Cambridge. Meanwhile, I shall quietly weep that this is not my local.

🎶🍺 Last week I visited this pub and it turned out to be such a great evening! The place itself has a really cozy, traditional English atmosphere — the kind of spot where you instantly feel comfortable and welcome. But the absolute highlight of the night was the live music. Rupert was singing, and honestly, I was blown away 😍. His voice is incredible, and the way he connects with the audience makes the whole performance even more special. Every song felt full of energy and emotion — it completely lifted the vibe of the room. I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much, but I left with a huge smile on my face. If you love live music in a friendly, authentic pub setting, this is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back for the next performance! 🙌🎤🍻

A good old boozer, with great selection of ales & Belgian beers

I was fascinated by this place and I love it. The treatment was amazing, the guy was super nice to us, the people it is super kind, and seems to be like a big family. They have a huge variety of Belgian-style beers starting with delirium and finishing with lambic ones, so if you love Belgian beer this is the place for you. I really recommend you some Christmas beer 🍺, they are amazing 🤩🤩. We will definitely repeat the experience 🥰🤩. They have some events in August so don't miss them!

My first time at The Elm Tree but certainly not the last. My friends and I walked around the center for a bit before going to The Elm Tree; it wasn’t a particularly warm evening and I was feeling rather chill. Was not in the mood for beers and really really wanted something hot to drink. So while my friends were ordering their ales, I asked a bar keeper if they could maybe make me a cup of tea — and what do you think? They kindly prepared one for me even though it was clear it’s not something they usually serve. It was genuinely nice and kind thing to do. In addition to that, I got asked if I would like to have a piece of lemon in my tea after I mentioned I didn’t usually drink my tea with milk. Never got asked something like that in all my time spent in the UK and was both happy and nostalgic since that’s how we drink tea in my home country. It was such a small thing but it meant a lot. I am looking forward to trying the impressive selection of their Belgian ales — and thank you again for your kindness, The Elm Tree!

Quirky back street local well worth visiting. Good selection of real ale. Had a Stout from Papworth brewery, a new brewery for me. Very friendly. Lots of pubs in the area. First place ever seen fsirfields farms crisps.

This small, Portuguese-influenced bakery has some unusual offerings. Liked the coconut macrons, danish pastries, while the fruited bun was slightly too dry. The Portuguese tarts should be interesting. Updated with savoury vegetarian pastries, also good. Prices a slightly lower than most other bakeries, and service is always friendly.

Lovely little bakery, with so many sweet treats! My tuna melt sandwich was also delicious. Reasonably priced and will definitely return!

Great little bakery. I bought a superb granary loaf. Was relieved that there was none of the usual sourdough this and sourdough that. Lots of interesting savoury pies. We had a delicious prawn rissole. Coffee was just a tad bitter. Check out the interesting Mill Road cemetery a few houses down the road and to the left.

I’ve been coming here for a while now with my girlfriend and dog and I have been so happy everytime. The bread is wonderful and the sandwich and soup meal deal is fantastic. It’s super close to the house and the people working there are super sweet. I can’t buy baked goods from anywhere else without comparing them to this place. I hope they make more dark chocolate pistachio cake soon!

The cakes and other baked goods here are the best in Cambridge. Great service too. When I visited they had a small art exhibition there also which was great. There is also a small deli section where you can find some other jams, honey, specialist tinned goods , oils etc to take home. 5/5.

Used the bakery for some office catering and it was all delicious! Very understanding of dietary requirements, excellent communication and lots of yummy food! Would highly recommend!

I ordered a cake box consisting of 20 different cakes. It was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The lady taking my order was very friendly.

Came in for a late-night beer and was pleasantly surprised to find that The Corner Inn is also a fantastic Nepalese restaurant. They have a great selection of beers on tap. I couldn't resist trying the veggie momo as a snack, and they were absolutely lovely! The full menu looks brilliant, and I'll definitely be coming back for a proper meal. A great find!

Come again after remodeling. The menu is different from the previous one. Had a rack of lamb and a mushroom rice. A beer of course. Lamb is great, it is soft and served with the home made sauce. But I miss the pasta hope it will come back at some point.

The staff were really welcoming, polite, and friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. Our meals were absolutely lovely — freshly cooked and full of flavour. It’s a great little pub with a warm atmosphere, and we had a really enjoyable evening. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

The pub had a seafood Weekend so we went and the food was delicious. We had a sharing platter and a couple of mains each that were very good. The mains were very good but one was quite peppery, and when we asked for it to have some cheese and cream added to perhaps take the edge off, which they did, they then gave us a free dessert of their own volition. They also have some cool retro games and there’s lots of seating and space inside and in the beer garden. The staff are really nice and it seems as though there’s a lively community and schedule of events kept regularly up to date

I had the lamb saag and it was amazing. Best I’ve had in many years. Service was also top notch and the servers were very attentive (and beautiful). If they see a glass getting, they are there immediately to see if you’re ready for another.

This is closer to a 3.5/5 for me - the pricing is definitely on the pricier side, but there is a 10% discount for students. The food is also nice, but nothing crazy in terms of flavour. The portions are also mid - neither small nor big. Huge bonus though: they serve halal chicken (but have no other halal options)

The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. That’s about it. It was no where near any Mexican Flavours. All we tasted was SALT. Definitely not going back.

While the Mexican food wasn't the most authentic, it was certainly enjoyable afterall it is more liks a fast food place. A major plus was finding Jarritos on the menu! The staff were welcoming, and we appreciated having plenty of space to sit on the upper level

Food is one of if not the best in Cambridgshire let alone Cambridge. You gt food really fast and it's made right in front of you. Lastly the atmosphere is great with music and the amazing seating.

Unfortunately nanna mexico has gone very downhill since covid. The flavours have become very bland and the staff have no idea what they are doing. The Norwich branch has already closed and I can see this branch closing in the near future.

Juicy Burritos The shop has quite a lot of protein options. Chicken with or without chorizo, beef, pork belly, pulled pork and lamb. We ordered 2 burritos. The staff were very efficient therefore we did not wait long. The meat was very tender, juicy and seasoned. So well prepared. If you have high standard in the protein filling of a sandwich, this will be the shop for you.

It's a food truck in the heart of the city. We ordered the large four seasons wrap and it was absolutely delicious and quite filling! The staff is super nice. Our payment did not go through and they realised it a while later when I had already started eating my wrap 😅 but they were polite about it and we paid with a different card. Although I personally felt the wraps are priced slightly on the higher side, the taste makes it worth it. Overall would recommend it if you're looking for only vegan or vegetarian place to have a tasty meal (like we were!)😊

The falafel wraps are always delicious, and service is quick and friendly. If you want a tasty vegetarian lunch in Cambridge then go to these guys! Also their £5 medium wrap deal on Thursdays is an absolute bargain, you won't find a better value hot meal in town!

This falafel has nothing to do with a real falafel from the Middle east. The ingredients and spices are all wrong. I ordered a classic falafel to share with my child and it was so hot, he couldn’t eat it. There was no parsley…maybe thew were out and just replaced it with salad. Lol. It was also dry… no classic falafel ingredients. Lots of CARROTS. Disappointed

OMG! This was a real discovery! Must try. I haven't had great falafel wraps in the UK. But here the wraps are juicy, have flavours and were not dry at all. Every bite had such an amazing taste. Became my favourite from day 1. Highly recommend I tried the falafel wrap and halloumi wrap. Both were delicious! Note: wraps are vegetarian only

Falafel is delicious and staff is friendly. Their customer service can't be beat. I've come here 50+ times over my 4 years of phd and every time is an absolute delight.

My initial excitement of seeing this place in Cambridge reduced when I saw the food options. But then I thought, I’d rather prefer Indian eateries with minimal options and not the standard red coloured curry paste in a dozen items on the menu! So, full marks to: - the concept of having just a handful of unique items - preparing hot food on demand, including the chai - being very clear by explaining what will be done and how long it will take to serve Slightly less than full marks for - taste (just because it is a kerbside establishment doesn’t mean taste cannot be improved) - pricing is slightly on the higher side for a kerbside establishment (although not so high as compared to some of the food stalls in the market square - that was daylight robbery!) All in all, - did I like the experience : yes - would I recommend to people : yes - would I go back and try other items : yes Keep it up!

The food truck is easy to see and the HappyCow/Google Maps location was spot on. Prices were clearly labelled, and the single staff was really nice and told us that actually everything is 100% VEGANthere now (oat milk for chai tea, vegan yoghurt). We have a £6 falafel wrap and a £6 bhaji wrap, which both came with one large samosa. We also had a cup of sweet chai off the hob for £2. We went to eat on the grass in a nearby park, and enjoyed the freshly cooked food. Just beware that some sauces could drip out the wrap. Very tasty, will be back at some point for a nice VEGAN meal!

This is a hidden gem in the middle of the city! I really liked the samosa chaat! Mildly spicy was just right for me. The staff are very friendly and happy to explain what’s on the menu. I’ll come here again! PS: And I got a free samosa as well. Thank you so much! ❤️

The samosa chat was okay, but not what I was expecting. Way too much chana and not enough samosa or chutney, but it was pretty massive. Essentially much a whole meal of chana and gravy rather than a chaat. I'll probably just get the samosa and chutney next time.

It's an amazing cart! I enjoyed a fresh samosa chaat and a flavorful cup of masala chai today. A special shout-out to Sneha, the hardworking and kind host who's truly creating magic with her food, totally impressed with the hygiene. We loved the experience and will definitely come back whenever we visit Cambridge!

Delicious homemade samosas with crispy pastry, full of potato and served with chunky mango chutney. Warming chai to drink, not too sweet. Refreshing, creamy Mango lassi to drink. Friendly staff.

The food tastes great, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Authentic Sicilian cuisine. The interior design is cozy and visually appealing. The restaurant has washrooms in the basement, though they can be quite dirty at times. Customer service is hit or miss، some of the older staff aren’t very pleasant, and when I asked a younger staff member for water, he simply pointed to the bottles while standing right next to them instead of bringing one. Despite that, I still recommend the place for the food and ambiance.

It’s a pizza place near King’s College, Cambridge! You order first and then find a seat (basically self-service). 🍕 Pancetta Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P1) A hot and fluffy thick-crust pizza topped with tomato sauce, sweet peppers, and cheese — tangy, sweet, and wonderfully fragrant. 🍕 Piccante Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P2) Similar texture as above, but with spicy sausage 🌶️ on top — full of flavor! 🧁☕️ Tiramisu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (P3) Absolutely delicious! The coffee-soaked soft ladyfingers with rich, slightly rum-flavored cream are perfectly balanced and not heavy at all. Honestly, each person should order one!

I passed by this restaurant around noon to early afternoon and saw a long queue it was quite busy. However, when I returned in the early evening, around 6 PM on a Sunday, there was no line at all and the atmosphere was very relaxed. If you’d prefer to avoid waiting, I recommend coming during this time. Dine-in orders are freshly heated, which is a nice touch. I also tried the tiramisu, which was enjoyable. I had high expectations for the pizza, but personally didn’t enjoy the pizza sauce it was quite tangy, more sour than I’m used to. While it might suit some palates, it wasn’t quite to my taste.

I got the Zucchini Pizza, and it tasted good. The bread was crunchy and the Zucchini was soft. Also tried my friends’ Pistachio brownie and canoli which were very good. My friend also ordered the Pistachio latte and she loved it so much that she bought it twice in a day. The place was really crowded, especially during the lunch hour. The place has plenty of spaces and it was still hard to get a table for four. The queue to order was very long.

Delicious pizza, reasonably priced, and wonderful staff! We ordered 5 pizzas and were pleased with how quickly we got our food. So good.

The worst service I have come across. Was served a burnt pizza and when I asked the staff about it I got a blank stare as if it was my mistake. Extremely rude staff, not one iota of concern for what is being served. The staff took away the pizza without a word and we were waiting for 10 minutes and sitting there wondering if a fresh one is being served or whether we should leave. Approached the counter and met with the same attitude by another staff. No apology, no smile and extremely rude. I would not be visiting again and recommend staying away from this place until the staff are trained.

On this occasion, we ordered chips, a halloumi burger, and a bacon butty. They came promptly as usual, and were very tasty. The food is very reasonably priced for Cambridge, and the portions are fairly generous. The Gardenia is difficult to describe; it's a wonderful independent establishment, tucked away in Rose Crescent. I would thoroughly recommend it for a quick bite to eat :)

Been closed for about a month now (since mid June 2025) with no signs of reopening. Just a heads up for anyone coming here. Apparently accounts not submitted to companies house which may mean it’s permanently closed. Had enjoyed a lot of food from here over the years, usually in the small hours of the morning after a night out.

The chicken souvlaki is moist, tender, and perfectly marinated and grilled. Large chunks of chicken meat were marinated overnight in yogurt, lemon juice, and other spices. A generous portion. Their tomato dipping sauce is the bomb and goes so well with the souvlaki and the chips.

My boyfriend and I came in this evening and spent 12 quid on two pizzas which, in all honesty, were barely edible. You're much better off throwing some frozen pizzas from Sainsbury's in your oven. However, the guys working there were super nice and accommodating, and we did not try the other food (aside from some chips, were were decent but also not very fresh) so we would just recommend not bothering with the pizzas. As students with little money looking forward to a little dinner treat and wanting to support a local eatery, this was really, really dissappointing. Five stars for customer service though.

Gardenia provides tasty delicious food with generous portions; also the chips are amazing!! We love the food from here and the staff are very friendly. Cannot wait to be able to sit in again and have a plate of wonderful meze or one of the other vegetarian or vegan dishes.

Passing through town and went here because of the good reviews and I loved it. Shop was busy but got served very quick and the food was gorgeous. Very friendly staff and all presented well in the box. Definitely stop here again next time I'm passing through 👌🏻

We went there to have an early dinner at 17:00, we selected one meal box from refrigerator (salmon nigiri and sushi )and one hot chicken soups with dumplings and noodles. The sushi rice are too tough which was not good for us. The chicken cup is ok, but not delicious. Better not to try things from refrigerator if you are from Asia (I mean Asian know how the sushi rice has to be) . The restaurant vibe is good.

Itsu offers a fun twist on fast food, serving up sushi and chicken teriyaki rice bowls in a bright, self-service setting. While many rave about the fresh flavors and speedy service, I found the atmosphere a tad too chill—almost like a library with chopsticks! The food is decent, but it didn’t quite blow my socks off; the sushi was good but not mind-blowing. If you’re in a hurry for something healthy, Itsu is a solid choice, just don’t expect a culinary fireworks show!

Had a lovely experience at Itsu today! The food was fresh and delicious as always, but what really stood out was the service. Ady was extremely polite, friendly, and attentive — made the whole experience so much better. Really appreciate the warm and helpful attitude. Will definitely be coming back!

I didn't know what to expect when going I to itsu but I was very pleasantly surprised by both the layout and the food. They have a great selection of cold and hot foods to choose from that aren't expensive. The food was great, we all loved what we bought and could not fault any of the flavours or portion sizes. But what stood out most for me was the way they have laid out the restaurant, it's simply beautiful, it's a nice relaxing environment to eat your food in. I would highly reccomend going to itsu as I will be going back a few more times in the future.

Ady is great guy he has been serving to me for a while and he is smiling and great service every time treating every customer like a king. I am happy to come to store again and again and again. Ady is very rare guy the best always make my day special.

Everything about Itsu is amazing, especially the food and also the employees working there. They work so efficient here that we didn't have to wait very long until all our ordered dishes were ready. I enjoyed our visit here when we ordered our food for take out and ate our food at our hotel room. I would deffo recommend Itsu as a place to eat and lastly order from!

Ordered online is over an hour delayed. And store isn’t answering. (update) Food came 2 hours late, and it tasted like it! chips aren’t even fully cooked. Just look at the picture. Cod was leaking through the plastic bag and cold. How i rated it on uber eats was all one stars and then. 5 on portions. But it’s sad because i haven’t eaten all day and im throwing this awful food away.

What a disappointing experience, both with food and customer service. We've ordered from here before and usually the food is lovely. But tonight was awful. Part of our order was wrong for starters, but when we cut into the "cod" it didn't look right, there was an entire back bone which put everyone off and we couldn't eat the fish. Called to complain and we were told we had been given rock salmon instead of cod! Apparently they had run out of cod and were substituting orders with haddock and salmon. This is unacceptable. The cod option should be made unavailable on the website and apps in that case. Trying to lie to customers and give them something different to what they ordered is completely wrong. Sausage was dry and hard, chips were average. Sad that this place has gone so downhill. Will not be ordering again.

I have purchased from The Godfather previously, and loved the fish and chips, and got home before they got cold. Tonight however, I ordered via Just Eat. Paid at 1825...for 2 bits of cod, 1 chips. I onion rings. At 1950 I got the call from the delivery man...the fish and chips were swimming in oil and too cold to eat...the onion rings were hard and not edible I am very disappointed, in the Godfather and delivery. Not to mention throwing away good money

I ordered four fish and chips meals, each with chips. However, no lemon slices were included as stated on the menu, and there was no tartar sauce either. Food was delicious.

The photo says it all. It was supposed to be cod and chips. I've no idea how old that fish is, but it's dry as a bone and full of chewy congealed skin. I'd be embarrassed if I'd sold this to anyone. Chips aren't much better!

Went there other sunday i had haddock and chips, wife had cod and chips, was lovely portions were big ,fish was great haddock wa massive . It was cooked just right chips hot ,fish freshly cooked ,great meal , the lads working in there were friendly and polite ,like everytime we've been there , will keep going back ,thanks lads for a great portion of fish and chips ,

A very good restaurant. The food is excellent. The only problem is communication. The phone never works very hard to get a hold. You don't know if it ever comes. Also perhaps will benefit a transparent way on time. Time is important. We don't have hours that's why order. Because always working. Please improve your communication. Thank you to the chef

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic experience at Carlos! I went with a friend and we were both seriously impressed. The chicken shawarma wrap was excellent – packed with flavour and perfectly grilled. My friend had the chicken donner with rice, which was just as delicious – tender meat, well-seasoned, and super satisfying. The portions are generous, so you definitely get great value for money. We also loved the fresh sides, the hummus was smooth and tasty, and the pita bread was warm and soft. What really makes Carlos stand out is the service. Carlos himself offers incredible hospitality – he treats you like a regular even on your first visit. It genuinely feels like you’re being welcomed into a place of your own. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious Middle Eastern food in Cambridge. We’ll definitely be back!

Came from the US for work and this was the first stop! Amazing athmosphere and hospitality from the legandary Carlos. This type of food and customer service is rare nowadays. Eating Halal food from a Muslim is a feeling that is hard to describe. After a long travel day, eating at Carlos's made me feel at home and he made me feel like family. Day 2 of my week trip and Im already looking forward to dinner again! PS, there is a masjid walking distance <30 seconds from the restaurant - no better blessing than that.

The wrap homemade falafel is one of the best I’ve had. The hospitality here is fabulous, too. Carlos and all in the shop are always very warm and welcoming; you feel more like you’re in a family kitchen than a diner or kebab shop.

Such a massive shame! Since the new management the quality of food has been significantly comprised. In all my years, I’ve never had worse chips from Vikings. It used to be the best Chippy chips in town! My daughter threw most of of the chips in the bin, they were old, crusty and solid! I couldn’t eat the fish cake either, it smells funny and taste horrible.

X2 battered sausage and chips, ordered 3 months ago Now. Have been thinking about how bad the battered sausages were since Chewy and tough, devoid of any sort of crisp batter. the sausage inside was nice and the chips were good. Friendly staff but it's so disappointing I assume it was sat around in the warmer all day cause how you get tough batter I do not know I won't be going back Maybe a one of so try for yourself

Usually I'd rate this place five stars. however I've been served a large Haddock that has gone off, it stinks of ammonia. Purchased on the 27 of March. Next time I will enquire as the freshness of the fish.

Oh my goodness this place is SO SO GOOD. KILLER good food. I wish I lived slightly closer as I would eat it all the time. I would literallyyyyy have it once a week. The team was so kind and gave me a yummy orange sauce that went so good with the one I got which was just chicken, avocado and cheese. The corn bread bit.. I could eat so many of those. SO SO GOOD. Make sure to find them in the market. It’s so worth it. It’s also really hard to find avocado that good in England! Totally in love with this food!

I ordered two pizzas, vegetarians. But one of the pizzas were burnt but after sending pictures and staff agreed. Later they refused and mentioned we sell burnt pizzas and was rude. Advise to try some where else and if can’t, see your pizzas before receiving. They can flip on their words any time👎🏽.

We ordered two pizzas — the Tandoori Sizzler and the Coriander Chilli — along with a Nashville Hot Chicken Burger, which is always my go-to. The pizzas were amazing, full of flavor and perfectly done. The service from Zeshan was excellent, really making the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this place, whether you’re dining in or ordering takeaway.

Super cool people, very understanding and accommodating. I once paid for the largest pizza with cheese crust but that was not an option so they offered to give me the next order for free. I always order from this place and I will continue doing so.

An awful experience. The service was incredibly rude from the man serving He basically was just shouting at customers and not listening! I waited 15 minutes for 4 fish and chips. They were unable to do skinless fish. The food was incredibly greasy. I realise it's a chip shop but you could pour the excess oil from the packaging. To cap it all my wife's cod had a wooden skewer in it that had also been fried (see picture). I have reported them to the local council food standards team.

Been using them since moving to Histon 18 months ago tried the fish and chips midweek over cooked and no flavour there Chinese on the other hand was always out standing but tonight had house pancake rolls and the misses had potato scallops and sausage in batter with curry sauce. Curry sauce was powdery and tbh not the takeaway I love if it's because they have a new chef he needs sacking and the misses said we're not ordering from there anymore. Shame as they were great last year .

The portions ha e got very small, a medium chips is probably 2 small potatoes for £3.10. It's hit and miss here, sometimes it's good, other times is aweful. I went a couple of days ago and it was like the chips had been cooked in the afternoon, then re cooked in the evening, very dry, very crunchy, and tasted of oil. They seem to scrimp on the batter on the battered sausages, again, like it had been cooked hours ago then reheated. Dark brown burned batter, tasted of oil. It's a shame as it used to be alright, think il be going rumbles in Cottenham in future and golden Wok for Chinese.

Might be one of the worst Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. Quality of the meat for the crispy beef was dreadful & the salt & pepper chicken tasted like they’d chucked in a tub of table salt. Portion sizes were decent but the food overall was dreadful so if you want a Chinese go elsewhere. Also annoying that they have a minimum £10 spend on card in the day & age.
