Pub
The Royal Oak is a charming partly-thatched pub located in the heart of the New Forest, popular among walkers and visitors seeking a bucolic experience. The pub offers a selection of real ales, cozy log fires, and a spacious garden where summer barbecues are held. Guests can immerse themselves in its traditional character with shepherd's hut accommodations available for overnight stays. The surrounding area provides plenty of lovely walks, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Brilliant pub, lovely country views and vibes. Large outdoor seating area, plenty of space but gets busy. Every kind of ploughmans you could imagine. That's all they sell. Stroke of genius. Delicious ice cream. Wonderful on a sunny day. Food was delicious and fresh, service was fast. Local ales. Parking a little awkward and small for the size of the pub. Dog friendly outside. Walks nearby.
Raindrops — Google review
Called in to The Royal Oak at lunch time. Their menu seemed to specialise mostly in types of ploughman’s. We ordered 1 ham and cheese, saying we’d share it between us. When it came it was very large and delicious! Plenty for the two of us. It came with a large variety and a lot of ham, cheese and bread with cutlery and plates for two! Quick, polite service, large pub garden with well spaced apart tables. Well worth a visit. It’s now in my satnav for return visits!

Whether you're a hiker, a dog walker, or just someone looking for great food in a beautiful setting, this pub hits all the right notes. Tucked away in stunning New Forest, surrounded by natural beauty and just a stone’s throw from several idyllic walking trails, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long ramble through the woods. The spacious interiors are warm and welcoming, with plenty of room to relax whether you’re dropping in for a quick pint or settling down for a long, leisurely lunch. The menu is packed with delicious dishes and comes in quick! What truly sets this place apart, is the attentive, friendly people working there. Outside, the dog-friendly front garden is a real treat too. 5 stars well deserved!
IZABELA C — Google review
A pub has to be sure of it's menu when they have such a small selection. But The Royal Oak have it spot on. Ploughmans, with cheese, with gammon, with both, with quiche, with sausage roll or with pork pie. Really, really good, and a lovely setting with fantastic views.
John P — Google review
Love this pub. It always keeps a wide range of proper local beers/ales and cider. The food menu is ploughman’s, and the quality is top notch. It really is a local gem.
Simon B — Google review
Had lunch here on a glorious sunny day. Washed down with a pint of Sunshine. It can't get any better. We went for a walk later past Eyeworth pond and beyond. A perfect afternoon.
Malcolm C — Google review
Lovely pub in the New Forest. Great destination for lots of walkers and cyclists. Know for its ploughman's. I was very slightly disappointed in the cheddar one but the blue cheese was good. Service was good. We had to move inside because we were swarmed with bees! They are doing their best to deal with them. Watch out in August. All in all, very pleasant.
Katie H — Google review
Great ploughman's lunch, although quite a lot of salad leaves some of which could be replaced with a different item, such as a celery stick (just my personal opinion). Very enjoyable plate of food nonetheless. Beautiful setting, plenty of tables and staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and will most certainly return.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque Avon Beach, The Noisy Lobster is a delightful haven for seafood enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This family-run gem offers a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Mudeford Bay and the Isle of Wight, featuring both indoor seating and a dog-friendly terrace that invites you to soak in the coastal charm. With an emphasis on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, much of their menu showcases fresh catches from nearby fishermen in Mudeford and Lymington.
Very friendly, efficient and professional staff. Views were amazing! All entrees, mains and desserts were beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and delicious. Flavours were matched perfectly and their wine choice was spot on. They were very happy to cater for dietary requirements which was very much appreciated. You will not be disappointed with any of the dishes you choose. We would not hesitate to go back!
Michelle W — Google review
The food was very good and beautifully presented. The location of the restaurant is also excellent, with lovely views of the sea. We arrived around 5pm and asked to sit upstairs, but unfortunately we were told that section wasn’t open due to limited bookings. However, we did notice that there were still some guests seated on the upstairs balcony at that time. We ended up sitting outside downstairs, where you can still enjoy the sea view. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, though it would have been nicer to sit upstairs.
Sami M — Google review
Delicious food. Quite expensive but that said there are burgers and fish and chips for £20 odd which looking at location and quality of food is worth it. If you want something else a little more special then price goes up and wine costs all add up! But beautiful food lovely location and worth the money!
Shaun H — Google review
Really good food, there was a musician on in the front of the restaurant that we couldn't quite hear, but it was good in the background. Food was amazing, the only thing that let it down was the prawn cocktail that was a bit bland. But the Monkfish more than made up for it on flavour!
Lynn W — Google review
Great location, lovely looking restaurant. Staff were great. Had monkfish 1st visit which was amazing a bit pricey but your paying for the view aswell i think. Had the dressed crab the next day and which looked great, but i was really disappointed with it. It was dry and bland and quite a small crab, looked like most of the white meat was used elsewhere. This was well overpriced at over £30, I have had loads better off a local fish van for £8. This has put me off going back and will be trying other restaurants around the area.
Jacko D — Google review
We came here after a few friends had recommended it. A very good choice indeed. Our party of 5 included or 10 year old, my wife and her parents, so a wee age range. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was absolutely superb. From the lobster, to the crab, to the steak that I had (I'm not a fan of seafood). All of it was cooked to perfection and served well presented. The staff were great, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was lovely watching their interactions with some customers who were clearly regular. The restaurant was clean, well laid out and the atmosphere felt right, which is a fairly subjective thing. There was some live music in the bar area, fortunately it wasn't too loud in the restaurant space as sleepless or can be quite distracting having to talk over someone trying to entertain you?
Carl B — Google review
Visited for lunch, food was absolutely gorgeous. Don't be fooled by the standard battered fish and chips on the menu, best I've ever eaten! Monfish main was beautiful, highly recommend. Octopus and prawn starters were delicious and the foccacia with seaweed butter is 100% worth ordering. Beautiful food with fantastic views.
Katie W — Google review
Fantastic food, stunning location, excellent service. Prices a bit on the high side but justified by the overall quality of the venue. Dog-friendly walk-in terrace on the ground floor no, paying carpark adjacent, gorgeous views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay on a sunny day.

Pebble Beach Restaurant is a stylish and beautiful cliff-top restaurant located in Barton on Sea, Hampshire. The sea-view terrace offers stunning views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. In addition to its culinary delights, Pebble Beach also provides relaxed rooms with complimentary breakfast for those looking to extend their seaside experience.
Am I in the UK?! Weather definitely helped but the setting overlooking the sea, very modern and comfortable outdoor and indoor decor and seating and very attentive service! We had drinks, delicious dinner and the room was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning unfortunately didn't work but they provided fan which did the job! 100% come back and recommend to anyone! Was a lovely baby moon/wedding anniversary stay (lots of options for alcohol free wines and cocktails too so you don't feel you miss out).
Keri B — Google review
I have now stayed at Pebble Beach 3 times with work and can honestly say it’s like being abroad. The view is spectacular and reminds me of the beaches in Fuerteventura. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit old fashioned but has everything you need and the toiletries are lovely. Sam the manager in the restaurant is so welcoming and friendly. Made me feel at home. The service in the restaurant is fantastic. The seabass I ordered this time came out within 5 minutes and tastes delicious and fresh. I also had a cocktail which was divine. The breakfast is amazing out on the terrace over looking the sea. I had eggs Benedict and an iced latte which were perfect. Nothing beats a breakfast with a view! Highly recommend
Aimee — Google review
Popped in on a Sunday afternoon for coffee and dessert in the terrace. Coffee was excellent, however the dessert wasn’t available. Lovely comfortable sofas on the terrace with beautiful sea views. The ladies needed a bit of attention as the hand towel bin was overflowing.
Jackie — Google review
Just popped in for a drink and a snack, the setting is first class but the only menu we were offered was a rather pricey menu when we had asked for just a snack. We ordered a cheese board and olives and drinks, firstly the waitress did not understand what drinks I ordered and had to get someone else to take order. Drinks arrived and then the cheese board, no knives, napkins were offered so we had to ask for some and we had to ask for our olives. They arrived when we had almost eaten the cheese. Just very disappointed with the service but if they can get away with this at their prices then good luck to them. Management get your finger on the job and train your staff better.

Only stopped for a coffee and cake today but it was excellent. Delicious coffee cake and decaf coffee. Lovely scenery overlooking the Needles with chaps on kites flying past!!! Welcome recommend this lovely PB restaurant.
Alan M — Google review
Our walking group went to PB for coffee today. Sadly they were really heavily booked for breakfast service. Some of our coffees were not correct or on the cool side. However the staff were really good and the supervisor was marvellous. .She explained about the breakfasts were booked solid and that they had problems with sickness within the staff. I was very impressed how she dealt with us. Obviously we will go back again. Even when things go wrong, they got it right. See you next week

Wonderful restaurant with amazing sea views. Superb food and service. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.

We have spent three nights here we go home tomorrow, the food is fantastic, the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for the, the room was always checked and replenished with the everything we need. The steak night was sooooo good if two people order steak you get a bottle of wine free 😋 The view from the beer garden is so nice you can see the isle of Wight and the needle too

Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, The Oak Inn in Bank near Lyndhurst is a charming country pub that embodies the essence of traditional British hospitality. Owned by a major brewery, this inviting establishment features on-site parking and serves up a delightful menu that combines classic dishes with modern flair, all crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.
We had dinner in this country pub which is really nice. It is settled in the heart of the new forest in a very quiet road. The car park has flat pebbles and they look great. The building is beautiful inside with low ceilings, full of character. We were attended politely and the food came quickly. The portions were good and we really enjoyed our dinner.
Marta F — Google review
So happy we stumbled upon this lovely pub in the new forest. One of the better Sunday roasts we've had in a while! We had the new "sharing roast" between 3 of us and we were absolutely stuffed. You get a bit of every meat and all the regular trimmings plus some cauliflower cheese! Not to mention the service was amazing and the servers were just the kindest people 🤩
Craig L — Google review
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Oak. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Anita, who gave us a warm welcome, looked after us and made sure everything was in order. The food here is really good; great presentation and generous portions. The Fullers beer is served from the barrel so is fresh and in tip top condition. If you haven't visited The Oak put it on your to-do list because it's a gem.
David B — Google review
We visited the Oak Inn on Sunday 6th July 2025 for lunch. We were greeted by friendly bar staff and were placed in a lovely bay window table. All the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The roast chicken was very tasty and portions are not stingy here, we all got so full up. The atmosphere of the pub was great, and we can’t wait to come back in the colder months as it would be very cosy. Will definitely recommend. Thank you.
Charlotte P — Google review
Best steak I have had in years! Great decor n service. Lovely to follow lane on for a wander in forest. Heard a woodpecker. Ponies passing us to take a drink at a brook. The free library in telephone box outside looks a tad sad so bring some unwanted but quality books to top it up ;-).
Marta E — Google review
I came here for the 1st time in a long time, we had 3 roast been dinners, I was so disappointed. And the serving staff I think might not be allowed to speak to customers as I never got anything from the young lady serving us. Food and service was awful, luckily they had good customers, as it helped with the atmosphere. I won’t be coming again. I will say location and building is amazing, just a shame about everything else. Food attached of the beef, I couldn’t cut because it was so tough.

Have often driven past and wondered what is was like. We cycled there as a group on a tour of the local pubs. Had a lovely Thai green curry and it was served with a pint of Clarksons Hawkstone lager! What a great combo The interior of the pub is spotless and had a welcome feel to it . The bar staff are very friendly and the service on the food was very good

We had a lovely meal with visiting Polish friends, we wanted a typical English experience. Chloe was superb from the moment we arrived, she was engaging and friendly. A real personal touch which made our visit very memorable. Thank you Chloe for your warm welcome. Thank you too for the delicious fish and chips and beer!

Lovely pub. Friendly staff, food was excellent. Reasonably priced for quality and size of portions. Not too long of a wait for food. Lovely atmosphere of an old country pub. Dog friendly as well. Would love to come back again in future on our next holiday.

We hadn't eaten here for a while but we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food today on father's day. Four adults and 3 Children. All our meals came out promptly hot & together. We all had the roast dinners and the children pretty much cleared their plates. Staff were all very pleasant and tables cleared quickly after we had finished eating. Some opted for delicious puddings. A wonderful relaxing father's day. A big thank you to all the staff for excellent food & service 🙏

Nice Sunday lunch. Had the beef and a bottle of wine :) . Was really nice abs good value for the money . Had foud outside on terrace . Visited toilet which were nice and clean. Shame the was no cheese option to finish off the wine. Well presented, nicely decorated with flowers. Inside was very cute dog friendly. They even have a dog menu to order treats. And overall price was good. Thank you I will definately go back again.
Didier M — Google review
Lovely little pub next to Red Shoot camping with a good amount of tables outside and a rustic feel with ornate wooden fixtures inside. Still feels like a pub with some personality unlike the copy paste interior of some chain pubs. However, the food was a real let down. Pasta was unsalted and bland, it didn't seem to have been seasoned at all. The chorizo was watery and tasteless and the prawns were tough as old boots. Having had chips the previous day that were really nice it was a shame to be let down by our mains the following day. Definitely worth a pint in the sun but I wouldn't waste your money coming for dinner.
John R — Google review
This is a wonderful pub in the New Forest to visit. The beer and food are good and the staff are a great help with everything.
Richard M — Google review
We paid the Red Shoot an impromptu visit last night ( phoned 2 mins before arriving and pleased we did as it quickly filled up).We were seated straight away and our food came quick after ordering. I had the steak and ale pie and it was honestly one of the best I've tasted. Hubby had a burger and chips and he really enjoyed it. The servers were really friendly and attentive. There was also live music and the guy was brilliant. Couldn't fault our evening at all and looking forward to going back!
Jenny L — Google review
From as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is brilliant no matter what time of day you go in or night. Went in on a Friday night for dinner as we were staying at red Shoot campsite next door, just had burger and fries, burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time very filling and a good portion of fries. Went back on the Saturday night and had stake and chips the steak was cooked to perfection which was medium rare very tasty from the first bite. And then we had the homemade chocolate brownie and chocolate sauce with vanilla ice cream heaven. Will definitely be coming back even if we're not stopping at the site we will stop for something to eat. Must say big thanks to the supervisor Courtney from making us very. welcome
David M — Google review
Having eaten at this pub one lunchtime, I was very impressed, as the atmosphere, food and staff were all excellent. A wonderful, quiet country pub that was a real pleasure to go to. With my family, we went back in the evening and it was so bad, we had to leave. The problem was even though we had a reservation for dinner, we were placed on a table very close to a singer who was so loud, it was uncomfortable. It was the only table available. Why? Because no-one else wanted to sit there due to the volume. We tried to sit there, but after not being able to have a conversation, we asked to be moved but without success (the staff did try). We left our untouched drinks and went elsewhere. Why do quiet country pubs feel the need to have musicians that play so loud it is difficult to have a conversation? The only people who like this are the musicians themselves and the staff. Most customers hate it. It is such a shame to ruin the atmosphere like this.

Thank you for made our get together so special, we will treasure this experience forever and we’ll definitely comeback again. Thank you

We visited for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my mum’s birthday and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The setting is beautiful and relaxing, and the food was impeccable — everything from the sandwiches to the scones and cakes was freshly made, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome throughout. A special touch that really meant a lot was when they surprised my mum with a small birthday cake, complete with "Happy Birthday" written on it — such a thoughtful gesture that made her day even more special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Chewton Glen truly knows how to make an occasion feel memorable. Highly, highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

We were absolutely blown away by the food and service. Vicky (our waitress) was just delightful and made our evening very special. And the food exceeded our expectations. The menu has a bit of everything which made us nervous to be too adventurous. We opted for burgers and were blown away. The onion ring was best we have ever eaten and every bite of the burger was just a taste of happy. We also tried the specials menu and ordered the sweetcorn ribs. They gave you a very generous portion but we still wanted more. Highly recommend!

An excellent afternoon tea in an excellent setting. We went for our wedding anniversary and thus didn't mind spending little more than we would normally for an afternoon tea. But for that we did get great quality food, second helpings of sandwiches and some extra cake to take home. The staff were attentive and very polite, and one of the sweet treats had a chocolate 'happy anniversary' plaque on it. We had a 1 year old with us and there was a nice changing area. We would happily recommend it.

Would prefer the gluten and dairy free mushroom starter as option which my friend had as cheese thing in the afternoon tea is too strong for me personally. Would love to see lemon and poppy seed scone. Would love a small shot glass size Eton Mess or lemon curd pudding or triffle just a different texture to all cake. Other cakes could be smaller in that instance perhaps ? Bit crowded today v busy had to go and ask for more drinks twice could do with a few more staff on those days but it wasnt a disaster I just felt like a pain asking for more tea nothing the staff did to make me feel like that. They guys as usual parked my car as had disabled people with me thats so helpful. Love taking all the cakes home as you cannot fit it all in so thats a lovely treat for after. I personally would love to have to option of taking some of the breakfast tea home to accompany the cakes the next day but that's just me as the tea is so good. Staff are super helpful as always and try to make everything perfect.amazing birthday treat was able to take a few more cakes home as my birthday such a thoughtful gesture. We were celebrating my birthday the staff are always super helpful with connie, connie loves going at 98 years old as its nice to make positive memories at the end of her journey.

I can't recommend Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa highly enough—especially for their exceptional afternoon tea! My parents and I visited on Sunday, and from the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and pampered. The setting is beautiful and tranquil, with gorgeous views of the gardens that made our afternoon feel truly special. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. The afternoon tea itself was outstanding. Every bite was delicious, from the delicate finger sandwiches and freshly-baked scones (with clotted cream and homemade jams!) to the stunning array of pastries and cakes. There was a lovely selection of teas, all beautifully served, and the attention to detail was perfect. It was such a memorable experience for our family—a blend of elegance, warmth, and sheer indulgence. Thank you, Chewton Glen, for making our Sunday afternoon so magical. We can’t wait to come back!

Our afternoon tea experience at Chewton Glen was amazing. Part of my year long 60th birthday celebrations was so special from the friendly, welcoming staff, to the delicious spread. The staff made sure we had plenty, even making up take away boxes to savour at home! We finished off by visiting the beautiful gardens plus the rain stopped and the sun shine for us as if it was booked on order. Thank you Chewton Glen for a memorable day x

Had a lovely one night stay on route to the Isle of Wight. Must be the most dog friendly place we have visited. Friendly and efficient staff, clean and comfy rooms, really good dinner menu options and a great breakfast. A very well thought out proposition and expectations exceeded. Well done

Really enjoyed our one night stay here. Staff were really lovely. Breakfast was really nice too. Location is ideal to explore the New Forest area. The room was nice, robes, slippers bottle water, etc. They had a fridge on the landing with bottled water and fresh milk which was a great idea. The only slight negative is the bathroom could maybe do with a refresh. Grouting, silicone, etc. Cover to shower handle fell off as it was so stiff to move. But, it certainly didn't detract from our stay and I would definitely come again. Also note this is a very dog friendly hotel, so expect to pass them on the landing.. !

We stayed last night for our 8th anniversary (Johnson) stayed in room 14. The location was beautiful and quiet. The hotel inside is really pretty and the rooms too! We had such a lovely stay. The staff were really helpful and the food was spot on! We had dinner outside which was cooked perfectly. Both agreed we had a great sleep and felt refreshed and then breakfast just topped it off that was delicious! We would definitely consider staying here again.

We had a lovely 3 night stay, super dog friendly. Our room was beautiful, homely, clean and offered housekeeping every day! Staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend to visit local areas with so many beautiful walks and not far from local beaches. We had a lovely time and will definitely return!

Rooms were lovely and location is stunning. Also the pub garden was beautiful. The thing that lets this place down is the service. We were a large group of 10 and we were paying for drinks as we went and hadn’t set up any tab. Thank god we got receipts each time as they tried to charge us for a round we had had two hours before on top of the round we were having. I can only imagine some poor people may fall for this and pay twice. We also ordered two rounds of bread and butter and was astonished to have been charged £9.90 for just three pieces of white bread. Last orders on the Friday night was a staggeringly early 10.20pm and one family got served after last orders but when we tried (straight after) we were refused. On check out the same thing happened with being overcharged and worryingly someone else had been able to add their drinks to our room. When we queried this - the staff explained that sometimes they have to guess which room customers are in so that’s probably how it happened!! Both times we were made to feel like we were being sneaky asking for the drinks to be removed - like we were trying to get away with free drinks which was completely not true. Sadly this ruined the whole trip for us and no one apologised or anything

Fantastic 3 day stay.Staff are really helpful and work very hard to make your stay perfect, rooms are clean and well equipped with tea, coffee and a few home made biscuits. Milk is supplied in a cold thermos or there is a little fridge on a table by the top of the stairs. Lots going on on bank holiday for families and couples. Food was lovely and service was great, lots of choice of beers and cider and extensive wine list. Nice walk to the local village which has everything from bike hire to witches shops. One more thing as the hotel is in the forest and it is so quiet in the night its worth getting up and going for a little walk.

Excellent roast-generous portions with variety and flavour, no dryness. Highly recommend the roast. Amazing home made Yorkshires! The pigs in blankets were awful for the price-5 tiny frozen shop bought ones for £5.50 which was not good. That’s over £1 per pig in blanket! Also says on the website they come with the roast chicken but they don’t. Service was great given it was a busy Sunday. Shout out to our lovely waitress with shoulder length blonde hair on Sun 7th Sept lunchtime-she was really accommodating with a brilliant service! Aside from the over priced low quality pigs in blankets, highly recommend the delicious, flavoursome roast here!

The Old Station Tea Rooms, Holmsley, is a charming spot that offers a delightful experience for families and cyclists. Located along the Castlemans Corkscrew cycle route, this former railway station now serves as a pit stop for those exploring the area on two wheels. Families can enjoy a family-friendly menu while their energetic doggos can join in on the cycling adventure. The tearooms also feature an array of memorabilia and offer freshly cooked meals including vegetarian and vegan options.
Went for an early morning breakfast after a local walk. Pretty and quaint interior with lots of photos of the old station when it had trains. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked and we didn't have to wait at all. Cake selection at the counter looked great especially the lemon meringue tart and the fruit tarts so will have to back soon to try those

Like other reviewers we enjoyed our visit. Very popular in summer with New Forest visitors and dog friendly. Very nice people, they are attentive and welcoming. Varied menu to suit all tastes with good vegetarian and vegan options, and of course excellent bacon sandwiches! Came back for another lunch and had the Station Master Welsh Rarebit. A real treat, the menu said a slice of ham hidden underneath and I guess you would expect the thin supermarket stuff but what I got was a thick hand cut wedge of juicy baked ham , just outstandingly delicious!

an old station of the former railway is now a wonderful tea room and pitstop in the New Forest. Excellent array of cakes and savoury .Staff friendly and welcoming with prompt service. Worth a visit if in the area. I would reserve for large tables so they know to expect.

Me and my wife went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning before we went for a local walk in the forest. The full English breakfast was high quality and reasonably priced for the lovely produce. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the station setting was awesome. We will definitely come back when we return to the New Forest.

Fantastic place for lunch. We've eaten here several times over the years as a family. Good quality food, at a reasonable price, served with a smile. The cakes and pastries are worth a visit alone, particularly the rather excellent Lemon Meringue pie. Decent coffee! Dog friendly as long as you're sitting outdoors, not quite sure if they're allowed inside. Ample parking, although sometimes it's very busy so can be hard to find a spot, ditto for getting a table, but you can make a reservation on their website.

Monty's Inn is a charming and acclaimed restaurant located in the well-heeled village of Beaulieu, offering luxury rooms with complimentary full breakfast. The inn is known for its delicious Sunday Roast Dinners and tempting options for the whole family. Guests can enjoy classic English favorites such as homemade scotch eggs, game pies, and British cheese ploughman's, all made with carefully sourced ingredients.
Very quiet on a weekday lunchtime. Very dog friendly in the bar and restaurant, we chose the comfortable bar. The dog biscuits went down very well with our furry friend. Flacks beers and Somerly cider were very nice. Haddock and chips was possibly the finest fish I've had, truly crispy beer batter and a lovely piece of fish. The full Monty burger was very good too.

Such a cosy place in this sweet town! We managed to order a few minutes before the kitchen was about to close and the portions were extremely generous! Fresh and tasty cod with an amazing tartare sauce highly recommended!

Good beer and an excellent wine menu make for a good start. The food was comforting and delicious; simple and wholesome but well executed. The staff were friendly and prompt. But be aware that their food service isn't all day - I think they only serve lunch until 1430 for instance and we only just arrived in time. The decor was light and had the ceiling been higher I might even have called it airy, but something about the place felt bleak, and I don't think it was just because we were the only people in there.
Alex H — Google review
It's been at least a couple of years since mum and I visited Monty's, which is part of Montague Hotel and Restaurant, Beaulieu. At that time there was a bar menu and we each had a sandwich and a pint, the place was lively and we enjoyed ourselves despite noisy children. Our return visit was awful. We walked into the bar area and no staff (the barman was changing a barrel but this wasn't relayed to us when I went to the restaurant side to find a member of staff). Lifeless and souless. The customers comprised a family with a noisy barking dog who thankfully left and a chap sat by the fire. I asked for a bar menu and the reply was "we don't have one but we have a restaurant menu". I scanned it and thought at nearly £30 per dish for a main course....no thank you. I went back to the bar area and mum spotted that there was 'soup of the day' being advertised which was being served with a toastie (mum would have the soup and I would have the toasty). I then ordered 2 halfs of Flack Manor's Romsey Gold. I set up a tab and the 2 halfs came to £7... you do the per-pint maths. Far too expensive, even by London prices and this is only 4% ABV. Even Molson Coors Blue Moon 5.4% is only £6.80 in establishments near to this place, and is of far superior quality. The few (and young) staff present needed more experience in working in a bar and being able to offer banter with customers and the lack of any atmosphere caused me to cancelled our food order, pay for our drinks and leave. It was the first time I have ever cancelled a food order in my life. I'm unsure who owns this place and whether it is part of Lord Montague's empire. If you're wanting an up-market meal then yes, this would be perfect, eating in the restaurant. But for what should be a lively bar with its own menu then please don't bother. You will be disappointed. This place has so much potential but is desperately lacking personality. Maybe it relies to much on its location, the seasonal tourists and the fact that there is no other bar in the village. Running a bar with hotel and restaurant staff doesn't work.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, just the right level of attentive. The food was great - huge fish and chips! Properly dog-friendly too - dog bed set up ready for her, along with complimentary treats on a plate for her. Love their 'a la bark' menu, too.

Disappointing experience — poor service and unwelcoming attitude We had high hopes for our lunch at The Monty, having booked well in advance for a relaxed family meal. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite the early booking, we were offered a table right in front of the bathroom door, with no alternative suggested. We asked to sit outside instead, but the table there was unclean and covered in cigarette ashes. Still, it felt like the better option — even if it meant eating next to a busy road. We ordered promptly: wine, a shared starter, and mains for both children and adults (burgers and fish & chips). While the drinks and starter arrived fairly quickly, we then waited 45 minutes for the main courses, with no update or explanation. After asking twice — and only after mentioning we might leave — the food finally arrived. It was decent, but by then the tone of the meal had shifted. When I politely asked why the delay, the staff member responded with defensiveness and attitude. I was told the wait was “perfectly normal,” then that there was only one chef for two kitchens, and finally — quite unbelievably — that it was our fault for ordering a starter. I was also made to feel as if we were complaining to avoid paying, which was frankly inappropriate. We were told the drinks would be removed from the bill, but only the service charge was waived, with no clear explanation. The food was acceptable, but the poor service, lack of basic hospitality, and unpleasant attitude left a sour impression. We will not be returning.
Margaux — Google review
Inexplicably cold and tasteless Sunday roast in a sparsely decorated cavernous room devoid of character or atmosphere. Staff seemed to try but this is one to avoid, particularly at £30 for a main course. No doubt summer tourists fall prey to the surroundings but there is a poor offering considering what it could be with some effort and enthusiasm. Better alternatives can be found nearby.

Nestled in the charming area of Southbourne, Restaurant Roots is a delightful blend of relaxed sophistication and culinary artistry. This intimate brick-lined eatery offers an exquisite tasting menu that showcases seasonal ingredients through eight or twelve thoughtfully crafted courses. Each dish tells a story, often inspired by Chef Jan's childhood experiences, making every bite not just a meal but a journey. With only a few tables available, diners can expect personalized service and an atmosphere that feels both cozy and upscale.
Yesterday we had a special culinary experience at Restaurant Roots. Fantastic flavors, textures, and beautiful presentation, and Géza took care of us like a true host 🍸 If you can, try the fine dining experience, it is truly special. If anyone is still hungry after such a menu…. No that’s impossible 😊

It was course after course of amazing food and the drink suggestions to go with the courses were spot on. Any foodies in the surrounding area, go here, check it out, and have a lovely relaxing evening with food you won’t forget! We even had a little goodie bag with a copy of the menu to take back with us too. 100% will come back.

We couldn't have had a better dining experience at Roots. The service was brilliant, we were talked through all of our courses and given options for wine to compliment the food on the menu. We chose the signature menu which was 14 courses of outstanding plates of food that combined and array of tastes and textures that left us very satisfied customers. I'd recommend an evening experience at Roots to anyone who enjoy really great food.

A very intimate dining experience but plenty of atmosphere given how well the team operate. Everything is effortless, well coordinated and the staff are all entertaining and make a huge effort to create a memorable experience. The restaurant is also quite casual, which makes for a more comfortable evening whilst you’re there to enjoy delicious food! We went as a group of 4 to celebrate 2 birthdays and had every course and the wine flight. The optional cheese course is a must! Extremely enjoyable evening and super impressive food!

What an absolute treat at Roots Restaurant in Southbourne last night! 🌿 We went for their midweek tasting menu, and from start to finish it was exceptional. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavour and imagination, you can really tell how much passion and precision goes into each dish. The ingredients were fresh, seasonal and perfectly balanced, showcasing the team’s incredible attention to detail. The service was just as impressive, friendly, knowledgeable and perfectly timed, making the whole evening relaxed and enjoyable. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, with just the right mix of fine dining and comfort. A huge thank you to the Roots team for such a memorable experience. If you haven’t tried their tasting menu yet, I can’t recommend it enough, an absolute gem right here in Southbourne.

From arriving we were very well taken care of. Everything was explained, how the menu worked, the options available eg. Vegetarian, The Wine Flight Option (recommend,by the way), any allergies etc. We were very entertained by our waiter with stories and history of the creation of Roots and thoroughly enjoyed but above all recommend the experience as it is an experience, not just a meal!!! One of the best wellington I had- the beef is tender outside but also pinky and juicy at the inside! Great effort from the chief. Roasted potatoes are done with perfection. The roasted mooli was also surprisingly delicious! Ham hock & duck liver tastes good on its own, however, the purée did not go well with them - the mixed flavour was too confusing for me. Anyway, still one of the spots in Bournemouth not to miss!!!

Had a wonderful lunch at Roots. We have been before, but many years ago. The food, drinks and service are all still top quality. Culinary delights that will entice the senses and tantalise the tastebuds. A very inventive chef who works hard to create wonderful menus. Thank you to all the team for an amazing lunch. Nestled within the charming Fairweathers Garden Centre in Beaulieu, Steff's Kitchen is a delightful culinary spot that emphasizes fresh, local ingredients. The café prides itself on serving home-cooked meals, with many vegetables sourced from the nearby Patricks Patch. Families will appreciate the Little Rascals menu designed for kids, while adults can indulge in artisan sandwiches, meze platters, and hearty Sunday roasts.
Excellent range of cakes all made on site, they say. We had the chocolate and cherry cake and a fruit scone. The scones are huge, although a little crumbly, but good value for money as a cream tea. The breakfasts looked amazing, and we will come back soon to try it. Dog friendly, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

Immensely good food! Had a handmade chicken and leek pie, new potatoes and fresh veg covered in delicious gravy. My Nanna had a welsh rarebit that was also great. There were no problems with any of the food; it was all fantastic. The service was a little inefficient, and the restaurant itself was very noisy and hectic, but I suppose that goes to show how good the food must be!

Went in for lunch on a very hot day. No problem getting a table for four inside even with part of the restaurant closed off. We ordered a mixture of meals and they all came quickly, the pizza was very nice all cooked onsite. Reasonable priced with everything for four adults coming in at just over £70. One down side we were plagued by wasps even though we were sitting inside, shame, they maybe need to put some wraps traps outside to attract them.

We had a drive through the New Forest today, stopping at Burley and Beaulieu amongst other locations. We stumbled upon Steff's Kitchen where we had one of the best, if not The Best roast dinners we've had! Everything was perfectly cooked and very very tasty. Good sized portion and reasonably priced. Polite and friendly staff too. Will be back to sample the extensive menu.

Lovely clean-looking spacious cafe with wooden beams and nice decor. The staff however didn’t smile throughout our time there, and made us feel like we were a bit of a burden just wanting to grab some lunch! They wouldn’t take our order at 11:56 (lunch starts at 12), and I understand bending rules is unfavourable however I am not sure why they couldn’t write our order down and leave it in the kitchen for a couple of minutes until kitchen staff were ready for the lunch shift. It just didn’t feel very friendly or welcoming. I couldn’t finish my soup as it was so salty (and I'm usually the one who adds salt to everything!) I’m sure someone had made a mistake in the kitchen, but unfortunately staff were dismissive and barely looked up at me while I tried to explain (so they could fix it for other customers). No apology and certainly no replacement or refund. Prices are also a bit silly. Adding “a slice of cheese” onto the bread you get with your soup would add an extra £3.10 to your bill. £3.10 for a slice of cheese! Oof.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch here on Friday. It was busy but did not have to wait for a table outside. Nestled in the charming village of Pilley, just a stone's throw from Lymington, the Fleur De Lys stands as a historic gem and is celebrated as the oldest pub in the New Forest. With its stunning facade and rich heritage dating back to 1096, this award-winning establishment offers visitors an authentic experience steeped in tradition.
We visited for the first time for a birthday celebration on 28/10/23. The food was superb. Portion sizes were very generous. The service was great. And it was a lovely atmosphere. The only drawback, was the wood fire which irritated our eyes. But apart from this, the waiter and chef were extremely attentive, courteous and very kind. All we can say is, this is a fantastic place to go for a great meal with friends and family. Thank you for making my birthday meal a memorable occasion with my wonderful friends.

Very old world traditional pub set in the heart of the New Forest. Well you'd expect that from a place that can trace its history back to 1096. Food is good using fresh ingredients and some nice quality touches. Presentation is modern and neat. The beef Wellington looked good and was very popular. Good desert selection with some very traditional options.

Dating from 1096, this great pub, with a fantastic menu, was originally under the control of the local monks. Historically important, the Grade 1 listed building has been preserved for our pleasure. Out of the way, on a small country lane and village. Nice selection of beers, it is in contention to be the oldest licenced estabishment in England. Great chat with the landlord, and skilled chef, Steve who knows so much more. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Friendly staff.

Lovely little pub with great history. Very warm welcome from all staff. The atmosphere was lovely and country-esk. They accepted dogs which was fab. The food was absolutely beautiful, faultless and served timely and with carefully thought about presentation. We had the Monkfish Scampi and Salt and Pepper squid, both superb. For mains we had Halibut in a lobster bisque, and the Chicken and Ham hock pie - full of flavour from start to finish. To end we shared the sticky toffee pudding which was topped with delicious honey comb. We even had the chef and owner come out and chat with us which was such a lovely touch. Wonderful experience, will definitely be back when we’re next in the area!

We were visiting this area from the south east and having spent the afternoon on the beach deciding to walk over a mile to go to the East End. We were in desperate need of something to eat, anything would have done, and arriving 15 minutes before the kitchen close we thought we could at least order some chip. But no! We were greeted by a very unfriendly bartender that only offered us her pearls of wisdom, by saying get a cab to Limington or walk an hour to the nearest pub. I’m glad we are more friendly where we live. Obviously living in the new forest doesn’t give you good customer service, or you take so much money you can turn away trade. We won’t be back!

Lovely roast this afternoon. The pub was busy, but they managed to give us a table 😀 food was perfect with plenty of well roasted potatoes. 100% worth the 90miles drive. Especially as the key is right outside for a wonderful walk afterwards

This is the second time to have lunch at the great pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu has a number of locally sourced produce and local beers including the excellent and very local Sea Wall; a pint or two of which is highly recommended. It was good to see a few vegetarian options on the menu sound with locally caught fish shed farmed produce. My only complaint is the lack of custard on the dessert menu and their running out of Yorkshire pudding for the lamb roast 🫣; minor points I know. The buffing itself is delightfully quaint and in close proximity to the coastal path.

I would say this is my favourite pub for lunch in the New Forest. The food and service is great (special shout out to Libby!) and the garden is really pleasant - nicely sheltered, plenty of space between the tables, bar outside for ordering. Location is perfect for a walk or cycle from Lymington or Milford on Sea. Highly recommended.

The Gun Inn is always a fantastic spot for a drink in the sunshine. They've got a beautiful back garden, and it's the perfect end (or start) to lots of great walks to Lymington and beyond. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. I didn't have anything to eat, but the food I saw looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be back to sample that!

This pub has one of the most beautiful beer gardens I've ever seen! It's absolutely worth a visit, and I always drink Landlord, but this particular pint was unusually tasty. New keg? Clean lines? Don't know, but The Gun is full of cool things to look at, and they've clearly put a lot of thought and energy into the surroundings. Very enjoyable. Super dog friendly!

We had an excellent dinner here and were looked after by friendly staff. The meal went at a nice easy, relaxed pace. Lovely local ale available too. Very dog friendly and the staff fussed over our four legged family member. Can’t wait to go back.

Hockey's Farm Shop and Farmyard Cafe has been a beloved destination for over 40 years, offering an award-winning farm shop and cafe alongside a chance to explore the farm and interact with the animals. The farm takes pride in its locally sourced meat products, including handmade sausages and burgers. In addition to meats, the shop offers a variety of local produce such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, fish, freshly baked goods, wines, and beers.
Lovely little farm , cafe and farm shop . Very knowledgeable staff member on the farm who was very passionate about the rescued animals . Told us all about them and let us pet the guinea pigs. Thank you , you made a 4 Yr olds day ! We ate breakfast in the cafe and it was absolutely delicious. Staff all lovely and patient . The farm shop well stocked with local produced items and a butcher serving us. All staff helpful and friendly.

We had such a wonderful experience at this farm shop! From the moment we arrived it felt so welcoming – really family-friendly and even dog-friendly, which made it easy for all of us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The breakfast was absolutely top quality, beautifully cooked and full of flavour – one of the best we’ve had in a long time. What really stood out though was the staff. They were genuinely lovely and took the time to make our visit extra special, even letting my daughter stroke one of the guinea pigs, which made her day. It’s clear they truly care about their visitors. There’s so much more here than just a farm shop – it’s a whole experience, with great food, friendly faces, and lots to see and do. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to families, foodies, and anyone looking for a warm and enjoyable place to visit.

This is a great place with farm animals, shop, cafe and aviary so a good place for families. The cafe food was good quality and very fresh and great cakes and cream teas. The Veggie breakfast is also very good. Shop had plenty of things to help stock up whether you are a local or on holiday. Also the farm animals are great to watch

Absolutely perfect cream tea here today! Cakes were fabulous and the cheese scone savoury tea was out of this world. Georgie was very accommodating and made sure our elderly friend had a sausage and egg bap even though it was very near time to stopping hot food. The farm shop and animals are also lovely. A perfect sunny afternoon. Thankyou so much Georgie and the team we will definitely be returning.
Corenna D — Google review
Our Daughter had visited the week before we went and recommended this place to eat as one of us were vegan and it was an easy access for myself being on two walking sticks. Absolutely delicious food, nothing was too much trouble. The food was piping hot and there was so much of it. The chef didn’t mind checking that the food was vegan and cooked it separately as well. I had granary toast and a bowl of baked beans. The menu was varied and catered for everyone. The cakes were homemade and looked scrumptious, not little slices either. The Ladies who served us were kind and respectful. There was a basket of extra cushions and blankets should you need them. The cafe was dog friendly and there were healthy dog snacks you could purchase. I would recommend this venue highly and would go back in the summer to have the opportunity to eat outside. In the complex there was also a small petting farm, some shops there was literally something for everyone there. We have family friends who live close by and they visit often with their grandchildren. It’s a delightful friendly place worth a visit.

⭐ 5/5 Went here with a good friend on the motorbike and had such a great time. The ride out was lovely, and when we arrived the place had such a warm, welcoming feel. We grabbed breakfast and the food was delicious, fresh, tasty locally produced food and good portions. The coffee hit the spot too. The staff were super friendly and happy to chat, and we loved wandering around to see the animals. It’s just a really nice spot to relax, eat well, and enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely worth the ride/visit!

They offer a variety of gluten-free food options and their menu includes authentic and delicious vegetarian dishes. Reviewers have praised the restaurant's authenticity and tastiness, comparing it favorably to meals they've had in Thailand. The take-away menu is highly recommended, with generous portions that may require refrigeration or freezing for later enjoyment.
What a gem of a restaurant, the food is excellent, portions are huge, costs reasonable and the place has a wonderfully chilled atmosphere. Yes service is a bit slow but absolutely well worth the wait. It’s BYO for alcohol which only adds to the charm.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Lins Fish & Chips is renowned for its exceptional fish and chips, prepared with simplicity and excellence. Customers rave about the delectable flavors of the cod, which is always full of taste. The chips are perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It's advisable to place orders in advance due to high demand, ensuring that every meal is freshly cooked. The quality of their fish and chips is consistently good, although some customers have experienced occasional variations in their satisfaction over time.
best fish and chips i’ve ever had in my life. Was visiting the new forest and craved some fresh fish and chips. This was perfect. Served us in 5 minutes and it was stunning. GET SOME CHIPS FROM HERE
Chantel Q — Google review
Was visiting the area and really enjoyed this chippy. Large fish was good size, not excessive but s large size. Chips were good and crispy. One large chips was enough to feed two adults and two young children. Good value too.
Phil H — Google review
Amazing Cod and chips, freshly cooked and very tasty. Curry sauce was also 10/10. Staff friendly and polite.
Andrew M — Google review
I have got fish and chips from all 3 shops in New Milton and I love Lin's. The fish and chips is always perfect, so I always go there now. I have visited the other 2 shops twice each and those shops oil was always old, but Lin's is always fresh. I have on several occasion tried to tip Mr Lin as a thank you but he gently and kindly refuses to take extra money so he has integrity. Atmosphere doesn't count as it is take-away only but because of his perfect record I gave it a 5 too.
GreatBriton — Google review
You can tell this place is good when the shop is full of customers waiting for their order to be cooked. My order was taken promptly and the shop works like clockwork. As steady flow of customers having their orders processed so efficiently. I wasn't disappointed with the quality of food, the size of the portions or the price. This is now my go to place for fish and chips when I am in this area.

Good quality fish and chips. 2 months ago. But today- over- fried cod which was very thin. Chips were almost soggy with oil. So a very variable experience. I won't be going back now as its my second bad experience in some 4 years.

Fantastic Indian food! We had an early dinner with 3 children (youngest 2years old). The team were so friendly and catered for our needs so well and we all enjoyed the food and their first experience in an Indian restaurant. We'll be back!

My wife and I are fairly new to the area and had our first takeaway this evening. The food was superb with immense variant on flavours and the delivery time was spot on. Add in, the delivery driver was pleasant too. All in all, we are now regular customers going forwards. Thank you all.

Was a bit sceptical when placing my order. Thought it's going to be some "fake" seaside town Indian or mediocre at the best. Oh boy, I was so wrong and pleasingly surprised. Food arrived piping hot, everything was tasty, not too watery or oily, decent size portions. Naans was lovely especially Kulsa. Jalfrezi had a nice kick to it but not overpoweringly hot.

Breakfast restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Poppins Restaurant is an unfussy family chain eatery that offers a wide selection of traditional British favorites throughout the day. Although part of a larger chain, this particular location visited for breakfast received mixed reviews. The food was deemed satisfactory but not exceptional, while the service was overly eager in promptly clearing plates and cups. One major drawback was the open front windows, which allowed cigarette smoke to permeate the dining area constantly.
Had a lovely lunch here today. Staff are so very friendly and lovely. Food is delish and always prepared freshly every morning. Will defo return and tell all my friends how great it is here. Also there’s easy access from the main car park into the rear of Poppins, great when you’re disabled.

Simple but good and nice surroundings. Mixed grill of sorts and gourmet burger. Chips. No problems. Burger could do with more seasoning and brioche bun is IMO too sweet with any burger. Onion rings plural means you get 2 ! :-) 🍊 juice seemed a mix of fresh and carton. Had notes of flat fanta and carboxylic acid 😀

During my first experience at Royal Spice New Milton, I was truly amazed by the exceptional quality and delicious taste of their food. It baffles me to comprehend negative reviews, as it is undoubtedly one of the finest curry establishments I have come across. Moreover, the serving sizes were satisfyingly generous. What impressed me further was their remarkably efficient and prompt delivery service. This Indian takeaway unquestionably stands out as the best in Hampshire, thanks to its consistently high standards and use of fresh ingredients.
Ordered royal spice for the 1st time last night as it was recommended and glad we did. So I got wrongfully racially profiled and searched by the police in this Greg's . First time I went there and most surely is gonna be the last one , after the search was conducted and nothing was found. Also the search happened just after i paid for my sandwich and drink .As a cherry on top nobody from the management came to say sorry , nor did they apologised in any capacity. I was asked to leave and to not come back . Beyond disgusting behaviour. Hope this finds upper management within the company and the responsible people at this Greg's . Disgusting
Pluskvamperfekt M — Google review
We were having a couple of drinks next door with a plan to get some Greggs afterwards. Some "customers" gave the staff there a really difficult time and they handled it like absolute bosses. When we went in we were served by the young man and the lady, both were really lovely and as always the food hit the spot. That young man and lady deserve a pay rise for all they put up with.
Senga D — Google review
The downfall of Greggs across the uk has got to be studied because how did they go from being so reliable to consistently subpar, people camping outside, cold food and very limited seating, a shame really

Papa Johns Pizza is a popular take-out and delivery chain known for its classic and specialty pizzas, as well as wings, sides, and desserts. While the pizza is consistently great, there have been instances where staff members were not attentive to incoming orders on the screen, resulting in delays of 20-40 minutes. If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Ashley's! This gem serves up fresh, made-to-order dishes that are anything but greasy. Their lunch specials offer perfectly sized portions, and you can expect crispy chips that are far from frozen. The fish is generously portioned for the price, and even the pea fritters hit the mark. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Ashley's is highly recommended for its tasty fish and chips as well as scampi options.
Great fresh food. All of our food was cooked to order and wasn't too greasy. We had the lunch specials as well which were perfect sized portions. The chips are fresh and not frozen and the fish was a decent size for the money. Even the pea fritters were spot on. I would highly recommend either as a local or if you're here on holiday.
Sian C — Google review
Good, really fast service. But the chips are a little undercooked. Would have been happy to wait a little bit longer.
Ryan C — Google review
Had cod and 2 portions of scampi with chips last night. Chips undercooked and not much flavour in the cod or the scampi. Having been a happy customer for the last 3 years we will no longer use Ashley's as our first port of call. I telephoned to complain and was offered replacement chips however, I travel 2 miles each way so it isn't practical to expect a customer to do a 4mile round trip ☹️
Shirley L — Google review
Been using Ashley's for over 3 years...have always been excellent but my last few visits have been disappointing. Tonight was the last chance... chips were reheated and soggy....undercooked and soft... asked for salt and vinegar but no vinegar was put on...and absolutely smothered in salt.... totally inedible. Not sure how you can get a simple thing like cooking chips so wrong. Batter on fish was greasy and to thick....use to be a lovely golden crisp batter....it was only 7 o'clock....not like last knockings....shame really... hopefully the owner will take notice and change things back to how they were

Don't expect much from a place like this but a bucket of lard would work better for oiling the hinges on my doors. 10 out of 10 for an alternative to wd40 but 0 out of 10 for consumable product.
Aaron H — Google review
It's such a shame to have to change this glowing review. Where once their garlic bread was king, they now offer half the amount and its the nowhere near as nice. Secondly I've told this place multiple times about errors if you order on their app or website. For example if you order a half and half pizza then you get charged for two pizzas but only get one. If you're ordering a lot then you might not notice as I did. If you want this pizza you have to phone up and then lose the 10% discount of ordering online. I don't know why they won't/can't fix it. Its a shame as this was the only place I would use locally, but now I'd rather go elsewhere.

I was Really disappointed at first. This was my favourite place to order a pizza from on the odd occasions that I did. It was a BBQ chicken pizza with pepper and red onion. It was completely overloaded with cheese and the base was completely burnt. The topping was undercooked and so was luke warm. I had to put it in the microwave to fully melt the cheese. It was not a freshly made base like the usual ones, it tasted like a pre bought base and wasn't nice at all. A tesco own pizza is better than this. The garlic bread was also burnt and very hard. However I phoned up the next day when they had reopened to complain and they offered to make and deliver me another one, and this one was not burnt, was a different freshly made base and so was much nicer, so they redeemed themselves. Although not quite as nice as in the past

Ordered at 19.30, food still hasn't arrived at 21 00 I called at 8.30 was told 10 minutes away. My brother in law ordered 20 minutes after us and has his. They stated they short staffed. I get that but lying the first time round annoyed me more. I won't be ordering again. Not even a offer of partial refund

Not been back to Lymington in years was thinking about ordering from Lymington but they got shut down, after reopening I checked their heath rating & it’s a 1!! But at Dama it’s 4. So it’s obvious who to order from. ordered at 19:31, said it was going to turn up at 21:30…. Arrived at 20:40!! £19 delivered massive portion, large donner & small chips, Extra sauce… home Made chilli sauce. It was spot on couldn’t fault it. Left in the notes, large salad and lots of hot peppers they did not disappoint 😏🔥 Ordered from here years ago and had a bad experience but it was absolutely lovely!

The Kebab House is a delightful spot that has quickly become a favorite for many, especially those with specific dietary preferences. One happy customer shared how their son, who is autistic and selective about food, absolutely loved the pizza offered here. The prices are also quite reasonable compared to other local options like Chicken Land. While some diners have experienced minor issues with missing items from their orders, the overall consensus remains positive due to the tasty and hot meals served.
This is our ‘go to’ holiday kebab house absolutely delicious great portions very tasty 5*

absolutely awful. £4.5 for chips and non flavour pita... No salt, no sauce just oily chips.. My partner had lamb kebab and the same. Nobody offer any sauce. Dried piece of meat in broken pita. No salt on his chips.. Very rude staff member. Being upset because we didn't have any cash and wanted to pay card even they have card machine there..
Izabela M — Google review
Miserable member of staff. Went pay he grunted at me cash only. Went home got change as all I had as cash machines down. Paid him - he wagged his finger at me and said next time paper money I told him where to go and haven’t been back since. No stars on the door. Checked on gov website 1* so it’s not good.

I use to really enjoy meals from here. I ordered a chicken burger and it was vile. I am not sure quite what was wrong, but the texture of the meat was hard, not like chicken. Not sure if it was freezer burnt, but really unpleasant. I called them and they quickly sent replacement meals and were very polite about it. Unfortunately, the replacement meals were of the same poor quality. Such a shame as their chicken burgers use to be so good. Also, I would have preferred a refund rather than a meal replacement, as the original bite was appetite destroying. I hope they get back to their previous quality.

The food was tasty and hot. But items missing from what we ordered and paid for. Couldn't be bothered to drive all the way back again.

Absolutely awful my chicken was undercooked slopped in chilli sauce my pitta bread was soggy and to top it off a nice nose hair for flavour ! Worst chicken shish I've ever had !

Went in to get a doner and chips when asked if we want salad we asked for separate as makes the chips soggy the guy behind counter was very rude said no I can only do that it you get a kebab and chips so we said never mind we’re go somewhere else he was like ok bye with attitude will not be going back here If I’m paying I expect to get what I pay for not the attitude of a guy who thinks he’s better then anyone else Avoid this place if you want a nice meal as this is not the place your get it
Aaleyah H — Google review
Staff were so, so uninterested in serving us. Asked what was in vegetarian kebab. Told a veggie burger broken up. Wasn't asked what salad or sauce wanted just given it up wrapped up. Attached is the photo of the 'kebab' after removing a mountain of cold salad and cold onion. Just a pitta bread. Who'd pay £4 for that? Pizza was ok but not worth the price. The chips however were good and cheap so 2*s in stead of one.

Ordered via Just Eat. Speedy delivery. Awefull Jumbo sausage and disgusting onion rings. They had a raw mushy paste inside. Coleslaw was okay. Will never order again! For some reason, reviews are 5.6 out of 6 on just eat. And I could not leave a review on Just Eat. Almost as it would have been disabled and doctored with. Very disappointed!

Just picked up 2 servings of fries, made in front of me, very fresh oil, perfect taste. Better than any others I've had in New Milton. Plenty of fries for £3. Good guys.

Ordered a delivery from here last night of 2 mixed kebabs. Used to frequently order from here pretty much every week just up until a couple months back. Was always alright. Price had gone up considerably but whatever I am aware that shops need to increase price from time to time. When our kebabs arrived and I stared eating all of a sudden I felt something sharp pierce through my gum on my upper jaw between my teeth. I reached in to retrieve a sharp piece of metal wire. My mouth dripping with blood I reached for the telephone to report this to the kebab house to make them aware of the incident and to make sure they check any further food carefully so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. All they said was next time remind them and they will give me a free meal. Unhappy with the seriousness of the response on there behalf I decided to drive down there to show them the said piece of wire i nearly ingested that i pulled out my gum wrapped in a piece of kitchen roll. On my arrival my girlfriend had called ahead to tell them I was coming down to show them. (Because when I was calling the second time to give them the heads up that I was on my way they were ignoring phone calls from my number) the piece of kitchen towel was snatched from my hand and quickly taken out the back by one of the workers. The guy that was in charge I assume came forward and asked what I wanted to do. I said I wanted to come show you this and I would like a refund. He then proceeded to get 8 pounds out the cash register when my order was 23 pounds. When I said to him this was the wrong amount he started barking at me telling me I was lying and where were the kebabs ect. One of the workers came from out the back and rectified the situation. And cleared up the fact my order did actually come to 23 pounds and I was refunded in full. All in all I am left very disappointed in this place and would no longer recommend it to anyone after the experience I went through. I am sat here writing this with still a very sore gum on the top right of my mouth all because of carelessness on there end to ensure food safety.

Many patrons have fond memories of enjoying takeout with family over the years, consistently finding satisfaction in their meals. The wraps are also a hit!
Friendly service, huge portions and great tasting chicken. Been coming here for years with my family for takeaway treats and never been disappointed. Best in the local area by far 👌 chicken burgers are enormous! And wraps are very tasty

Had delivery, and the food was pretty awful, not like it use to be, we had a piece of chicken on the side of our chicken burger and it was spicy and darker than the other piece, I think it's a bit awful that they did this as if there were any allergens or allergic to spice then that's very naughty, I know that they have an allergen but if someone forgot to put this on then naughty it should not of been added to the chicken burger end of! I don't thinkwe.will.order from here again!. And it doesn't taste nice anymore!
