Breakfast experience — room for improvement I visited for breakfast and was not impressed. I can’t speak for the burgers, but the breakfast item I ordered—one of the menu’s featured dishes—was large yet felt like a mix of flavors that didn’t quite work together. That’s my personal opinion, and I understand others may see it differently. While some reviews are very critical, I believe this place has real potential to be great. A bit of refinement to the menu and a friendlier approach from the staff could make a big difference.

Good greeting when we arrived. Seated right away. Service was ok, food ok and decor was a dinner decor. Just didn’t feel that dinner type vibe from the staff and so on. Maybe get more involved with patrons and tell their story of the place and what brought them to work there. Engage more and more welcoming. I would come back again for a second try.

Oh Wow!! What a rare gem in this cozy diner. Ran into this place during a Tahoe Christmas trip. Such a great atmosphere! The food was great. The pulled pork burger hit the spot in the wintery weather. Everyone was full of smiles and very greeting. Right out of a TV show. Ordered a fountain style milk shake just for the fun of it. Even the other diners were smiling and very hospitable. I would gather this is a go to for the locals. This will be a certain repeat stop every time I'm in the Truckee Tahoe area! Thank you Jax at the Tracks for a great additional memory to a great Christmas vacation. Will definitely be back!

It's an old refurbished railroad dining car. Period decor, nice staff, great food! You gotta try the Vanilla Caramel shake! It's the bomb! Side note... We arrived right after Rob Lowe left.

We ate breakfast here on a Monday morning. The atmosphere is that of an old diner which was charming. The server was attentive and we were waited on quickly. Both of us ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict which had been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. This was also served with hashbrowns. Our food was warm at best, the hashbrowns definitely had not come off the griddle but seemed to have been sitting for a while as they were very chewy. The eggs Benedict was warm and the hollandaise sauce was broken. Overall food was very underwhelming. Maybe just a bad day ?

Awesome breakfast spot in Truckee in an authentic diner car. This was a great place for a group with their large menu and reasonable prices for large portions. We loved the Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict that came with avocado and hash browns, the BLAT, All Day Addiction (plate with mushrooms & goat cheese, as well as the sandwich), the Jax Torta and Burger.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the service and food here was insanely awesome. I think this was probably the best breakfast I’ve had in my life. I got the breakfast sandwich with cheesy potatoes, it was absolutely delicious. On top of that our server Parish went above and beyond, checking in on us, making sure we had enough sauce, and was very attentive. He even saw how our progress was and proactively brought boxes to help us pack up our meals. I come from NYC and I have high standards, the service was by far the best I have ever experienced.

We came in for breakfast and loved the fun atmosphere (Signing the walls was fun!) and delicious food. Our server did a great job as well. The portions were large; we weren’t able to eat it all.

Always a good choice for downtown Truckee. Food is great, people are great. Seating is a bit of a squeeze (it’s in the name). Maybe not the best for large groups unless you want to be a separate tables of 4.

Great place for breakfast! Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. We ate here twice in 3 days. Now we were here in October and didn't have to wait long for a table, in high season I hear this place is packed!

Food was great! Service was the best received so far…. Wait time was 45 min but they were so quick got us in 25 minutes Parrish and Luke were awesome! We came to celebrate my birthday and trust me I am leaving happy and impressed with there service and attitude.

I finally had the chance to visit BurgerMe in Truckee and try their famous Cowboy Burger, and let me just say—it absolutely lived up to the hype. The moment I walked in, I noticed how full it was, which for me is always a sign that the food is both popular and consistently good. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even though they were clearly busy handling a big crowd. They made sure everyone felt taken care of, which added a really positive touch to the whole experience. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the Cowboy Burger. This burger comes stacked with bacon, crispy onion, jalapeños, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, BBQ sauce, smoked cheddar, all nestled in a soft brioche bun. My group was excited to hit up a burger spot on my last vacation night. I came with a party of 7, so we did order a ton of food. I will say that while I was annoyed the burgers did not come with fries, their menu was on the cheaper side compared to other spots around here. I still strongly believe the burger should include fries, but they minimized that problem as I did eat enough to fill up. I ordered the elk NV burger which was a disappointed. I ordered the burger medium rare and you can tell by the picture that is not medium rare. That burger was more dry than this joke ha ha ha. Not juicy at all, overcooked and the bacon on the burger was better than the actual beef patty. We got a lot of fries, and they were alright. I prefer the regular fries to the sweet potato, but I enjoyed both. The burger really was a let down, and they missed a part of the order forgetting one of the children’s grilled cheese sandwiches. We did not get to correct this because we had takeout and didn’t see there was an item missing until getting to the hotel which was a bit of a drive. This was upsetting of course because a kid did not get her meal so we all shared in order to make up. The fries were decent but not enough to make up for the overcooked burger and missed item. The onion rings were okay but did not have much flavor, I didn’t even care to finish them. Overall, kind of disappointing and the group I was with agreed. I wouldn’t recommend coming here; there are other options for burgers around the area. The atmosphere was not all that great either with next to no seating, but this may be more of a takeout place who knows. We also ordered the chocolate and vanilla shakes;; I got to try the vanilla one which was alright, but I am typically more of a chocolate fan. The place has the prices to be a reasonably good spot, but they did not deliver on the quality part which is why they get a low rating.

This was our first time to Burger Me. No one in line waiting to order, two people sitting eating their food. Our food arrived in a timely manner. As we were eating several people came in ( looked like lunch rush). The gentleman taking our order was very helpful and friendly. I hamburger was awesome! I highly recommend this place.

This is a nice place to eat along the main strip in Truckee. Parking along the street is $1.50 hour, but it's free after 6pm. Food was delicious. The fries are great... Not soggy. The sweet potato fries are the best. I had the fish n chips and the fish was so good. Service was a bit slow, but they were friendly.

Ordered cowboy and dippa. Each of them was cooked well and ingredient were really fresh. We also got garlic fries and onion rings to share. Everything was delicious except for onion rings. It was overcook and burnt The service is great. We were in the deck and they brought out food to us maybe within 15 mins or less.

These hamburgers do not taste like fast food. The bun is buttery and fries have the perfect crunch. We really enjoyed the salad which had very fresh spring mix. The staff was super friendly at the register and brought water out for our dog. They have a very comfortable patio.

I like the variety of burgers that they offer. I had the Bison BBQ Burger and it was really good. The portions are really good sized, particularly the fries. If you like garlic fries don't order theirs. If you LOVE garlic with some fries, this one is for you. The regular fries and sweet potato fries are excellent as well. The interior is fine, but the outdoor seating is just a great environment to have a meal. They have Gluten-free options, but be sure to double-check everything is being treated with care if you have Celiac and this isn't just a preference.

Alway good food and drink. But the service is not great!!! Our waiter came to take order and ask if we was fine. And took like 20 min to bring check back!!

We're visitors to the area and know the best way to find the good eats is to ask the locals. We were steered here by a young lady at The Sockery, and boy, was she right! My son and I got the ramen we were craving. It was a different style to the tonkatsu we were used to, but it was delicious! My sweetheart got the dandan noodles, and those, too, were fantastic! My youngest son got tuna rolls and scarfed down a double order. The service was fast, and the ambiance was nice. I felt like a local and a favorite Friday night spot rather than a tourist on a Tuesday.

The food is excellent, like really excellent. The only downside is the service is a bit slow.

Decent sushi and cocktail place in Tahoe. It wasn't too difficult to get a table.

There were flies all over the place and crawling all over the plates/chopsticks. We moved tables because they kept landing on us and our food. Also there was a grain of rice on this new plate they brought out for the next guest. Decent food if you don’t mind though

Food is good. Servers are very nice, but the food is very slow. We've been here twice, 1 year apart when visiting the Truckee area and each time it took a much longer time to get out sushi than I expected, or than it seemed to take either tables. The dining area is comfortable and the outdoor seating area is very family friendly, just make sure your kids are good with the wait.

It was meh, I love drunk coffee do stuff but figured I try something new. It’s okay I wouldn’t go again it’s very loud and crowded which i mean seems good for them but not an atmosphere I like. I ordered a hot chocolate very simple but it had coffee grounds in it which wasn’t very fun for me but by the time I found out I had already left.

We came here for breakfast, and got the avocado toast, chorizo burrito, tea latte, and vanilla latte. Everything tasted really good. Knocked one star because the prices are really high -- the most expensive lattes we've had in a while, and even the food servings were very small compared to how much they cost. Overall, though, we were happy with the food. The ambience was quiet, clean, airy, and cozy, just like what you would want from a cafe. And the server was fast, friendly, and efficient too.

Passed through as a first time customers on the way to Tahoe, the barista who took our order wasn’t willing to walk us through recommendations, seemed inconvenienced by us not being familiar with the menu, and rushed us to order. It wasn’t busy, there was no one behind us. As tourists, we would’ve appreciated the novelty specials listed online to be reflected in the shop for ease. We ordered two iced lavender lattes. They didn’t come with lids which we found odd. The coffee has a very balanced, tasty flavor and we appreciated the house made syrups. Had the barista been more kind & helpful, we would’ve had a better experience. We appreciated the pride flag on the door as a queer couple as well.

Who doesn’t love a huge cinnamon roll you can easily share with everyone at the table? The coffee was amazing and paired perfectly with it. Conveniently located just off the main street, and the bathrooms were spotless a definite plus when you are traveling with kids.! I can’t wait to come back.

Im solely reviewing based on parking. Terrible parking situation at this location. This location looks cool but it's dark inside. I used the bathroom first and came back out to join the line where I kept getting bypassed by those walking in the door, people didn't want to let me in line and i wasnt going to fight it... I left and went to the location on donner pass instead. Its better.

Everything was so great from here, both the food and the coffee! Amazing. Views are beautiful. The perfect coffee and breakfast stop! Highly recommend

Fabulous coffee shop. Dog friendly patio. Our group had an amazing expresso, lavender tea latte, old brew coffee, and snack. Also saw awesome looking sandwiches people were eating. Highly recommend. Great staff.

If you’re in Reno, find any reason to visit Donner Lake Kitchen. Place runs like symphony. All smiles, super chill atmosphere and the food is tight. Hungry portions to be sure. Jama, my server, is a local outdoor go to person. Life hack, hit the mountain trail before breakfast. Have fun!

Donna Lake Kitchen is a local cozy breakfast place I stumbled upon while visiting. The place provided a “country home” atmosphere and the waitstaff was perky friendly. The food was extremely tasty and of substantial portions. The coffee ☕️is delicious with free refills! (I’m a fan of that) What I did not like was my check being place at my table before I got my food and the 4$ fee that is charged to you for use of a credit card. I think overall it is a lovely place and the outside seating area is illuminated with nature. 🍽️ I recommend a try just bring cash! Happy Eating!

My favorite breakfast place in the area. The servers and hosts are friendly and helpful. We got there at 9:30 and there was already a 20 minute wait. By 10AM the wait was almost an hour. You can ask to sit the bar, if they have space, and you can order drinks while you wait. The food was tasty and felt homemade. The Cowboy’s Breakfast was delicious! The biscuits were soft and fluffy, the gravy was not to thick and the sausage patty was so flavorful. The Pancake Breakfast (#6) was good, too. Large and fluffy pancakes.

The food was very good! The service was also good but food did take a long time to come out. The restaurant was very busy at the time so I understand. But we were not in any hurry and we could enjoy the atmosphere visit.

Came here early on a Saturday morning, had some great food and everyone was really nice! The bacon and sweet potato fries were real standouts, perfectly balanced and cooked. My sister enjoyed the virgin Bloody Mary and the OJ tasted fresh. The pancakes were crazy huge and fluffy, everything was great!

Not sure what the hype is about or if we just happened to come on a bad day, but the food was atrociously bad. Burrito had zero sauce in it, Tri-tip was very dry and over cooked, and the burrito looked like it would be something off a kids menu. The other plate was a platter full of the same tasteless dried out Tri-tip and the most dry chicken I have ever eaten in my life. Nothing had flavor, except the medium salsa we got with our chips, that was all liquid. Not sure if thats their style, but it was basically just watered down hot sauce. Really odd, it certainly wasn't salsa. The Mexican rice was cold and bland on both plates. Tasted old and left out all day. $50 + %20 tip and neither of us finished our food. Horrible experience, there were at least 6 people working and not a single one of them looked like they cared about anything. I get its hard to hire up here, but if you have 6 people working, odds are at least one should know what they're doing. If you like dry meat, no sauce on your food and zero customer service, this is your spot.

Quaint, casual Mexican eatery located next to the DMV office in downtown Truckee. The rotisserie chicken was tasty, but the tri-tip was a bit bland without the hot sauce. Beware, the hot sauce has a serious kick to it! Fast and friendly service. Large free parking lot shared with other local businesses. Good place for a quick bite.

This may be insignificant, but it's a matter of principle. The last bullet point for a Family Pack is "Salsa". I was refused salsa because I didn't order tortillas. The second bullet point says "Tortillas or Garlic Bread". I was told that salsa did not come with garlic bread, which I ordered. Clearly, the menu needs to be updated to reflect policy. However, the cleck was indignant.

I don’t understand the good reviews. It’s quick and cheap, but the food is not even good. My wife got two tacos, meat and tortillas were decent, but that’s all there was to the taco. No onion, no salsa, no cheese… I mean these aren’t even street tacos. I was excited to try the chile relleno stuffed burrito… but it was pretty bad. Maybe the normal burrito would have been better, though I kinda doubt it. The chile relleno itself was okay, but it was the burrito outside some sad rice, beans and maybe I got pork, but didn’t see much of it. Anyways, not worth returning. Too many good restaurants in Truckee.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Golden Rotisserie absolutely blew us away! We came in as a hungry family of four and they did not let us down one bit. The whole chicken was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, the rice was spot on and the potato salad was out of this world, probably one of the best we’ve ever had. We also tried the tri tip, a sandwich, and the quesadilla de al pastor, and every single bite was delicious. You can tell they put real care into everything they make. On top of the amazing food, the people working there were super nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Truckee and craving hearty, flavorful food that hits the spot, you’ve got to stop by Golden Rotisserie. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll come back.

Food is pretty darn good. Staff seem put out, especially anytime within 30-45 minutes close to closing. Expect chairs on tables and feeling rushed out.

Super delicious! Great Gold is doing it right. The fresh pasta was some of the best we’ve had! Highly recommend the cacio pepe. The pizzas were very tasty. The crust was perfect and the pizza itself wasn’t too greasy. Stuart was a great server! Friendly and chill. We will definitely be back!

Ate here for a family dinner and was amazed. My family had eaten here before and had nothing but good things to say about the restaurant. Therefore my expectations were high, but nevertheless I was still shocked by how lovely of a time I had. Everything about this restaurant is great, from the service to the food, it was a wonderful experience. Out server was very friendly and had a great vibe. The food was delicious. We got the pizza of the day (veggie pizza) and many different pasta dishes. The triangoli was definitely the best and a hit with my family. This was definitely a family dinner for the books, thank you.

Well, wow! This restaurant needs to be on your to-go list if you’re in the area. It felt less like dining out and more like being part of a carefully orchestrated performance (in the best way). We sat at the bar for a drink and appetizers- pork meatballs + peaches & prosciutto. Food & drinks were delicious, service was super friendly and attentive (thanks Jordyn!), and the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. We had reservations at Tangerine for dinner otherwise I would’ve loved to try the homemade gluten free pasta. Will definitely come back during our next visit to the Tahoe area.

Do yourself a favor and stop scrolling reviews because Great Gold is everything you could want in an incredible dining experience. Our group of 7 went for my birthday and chose the chef’s feast tasting menu and wine pairing and it was absolutely sensational. Every dish was delicious, well-timed, and stunning. It was the perfect tour through their menu. They seamlessly adapted to dietary restrictions. The wine pairings were so well thought out and an incredible value for the quality of wine. Every single person that came to our table was friendly and you could tell just genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. Our server, Abby, was the absolute best. We had a layer reservation and we closed the place down and at no point were we rushed through courses. She even took the time to take a group picture and was just so lovely to chat with. She did everything with such ease, especially for a bigger group and a tasting menu. I cannot say enough about Great Gold and how utterly special it made my birthday. Every single person left Great Gold blown away by the food, the atmosphere, the service, and all of the beautiful memories made. Thank you Great Gold!! We will be back!

The food is amazing we took the waiter’s (Jacob) recommendation and were very happy and pleased. What a great meal! Spinach Cannelloni with black truffles, and ragalatoni (sp) with Barratta was excellent

The food is so incredible and everyone working was amazing, from the hostess to the food runners. Our server was so lovely, guided us to a great wine, and on our way out just as I realized and was lamenting we forgot our leftovers, she ran them out to us! Will absolutely be returning!

This place is ALWAYS packed—and for good reason! Full Belly Deli is hands down one of my favorite spots in Truckee. The energy here is awesome, and the fact that it’s constantly busy just proves how much people love it. The staff? Super friendly and chill. Even when the line’s out the door, they keep things moving and make you feel welcome every time. And the food… wow. The sandwiches are massive, loaded with flavor, and worth every penny. My go-to is the tuna sandwich—it’s so good I honestly crave it all the time. Perfectly seasoned, hearty, and just the right amount of kick. If you’re in Truckee, do yourself a favor and stop by. Trust me, it’s worth the hype.

I dont know what happen I spent 60 dollars on sandwiches and all of them were horrible two were supposed to be cold but they made them hot and on the side of one it looks burnt they were all super soggy. I've had there sandwiches before through work and they were good. I placed an order online for pick up. I dont think i will order again they were all so bad and not made right. Took three bits and couldnt eat them anymore they were so bad.

Broad selection of choices that are unique. Tends to be a more vinegar or hot undertone. They have beer too. Not hard liquor. Order at counter or on two laptops to right when you enter. No servers. Counter service and online only. Inside seating is super limited. Outside is dog friendly with a few sun shade covered picnic benches.

After a morning of hiking around the Donner Memorial State Park the Full Belly Deli really hit the spot. Great food and atmosphere . No pictures of the food because it was devoured. Had the gnar burrito. Would highly recommend. Busy at lunch time as expected.

you gotta get the biscuits & gravy burrito featured by Guy Fieri on diners, drive-ins & dives. The gravy is like a sausage and chorizo chili - we were blown away by every bite. I liked this one much more than the Gnar burrito. outside picnic seating was also chill and staff was extremely kind.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Dirka Dirka was amazing. Bread is excellent. Whole wheat blew me away. Crunchy on outside but not dry on inside. Location is a bit awkward and building seems dated and needs some TLC.

Ive never been disappointed…everything I’ve had has been amazing. We bring the breakfast burritos whenever we have to fly anywhere so we don’t have to eat airport food. If we are driving to the coast or eastern sierras, we bring a sando for in the car so we don’t have to stop. Favorites are Dirka Dirka, Sicilian on wheat roll and the regular breakfast burrito with green chilis. I do love the gnar burrito and the Southwest chicken sando too.

The food was delish. We had sharables, apps, salads and pizza. The food kept getting better as they brought out our orders. Drinks were very taste also. Cheese curds were my favorite. Cesar salad had enough parmigiana it make you cry sweet tears. The dressing was most delicious. Best I’ve had in a long time; Portion is shareable too. Mostly noise inside the restaurant. It was hard to converse but I’d still go back.

After spending some time at the Farmers Market, my boyfriend and I decided to try Old Town Tap. The menu sounded good, and it was relatively busy. We had a terrible experience with the service and our food.The waitress took a while to acknowledge us and the first thing she asked was do you want anything to drink? She didn’t introduce herself, explain the menu or specials, she answered one question about a dish, took our order, and then walked away. She was not personable at all and didn’t recommend anything on the menu. As someone in the hospitality industry, I expect attentive service at a pricey full service restaurant. Once we received our mushroom pizza, the waitress returned but didn’t ask how it was or if we needed anything. Additionally, we had to ask the bartender for a cup of ice since a bottle of warm water was placed on our table. Shout out to the bartender! The pizza was oily, bland and doughy, which wasn’t particularly appetizing. I had one small slice and couldn’t eat anymore. The dough had a weird taste, and I’m not sure why. Consider adding a garnish like fresh herbs or arugula for some color… Had the waitress been more observant, she would have noticed amongst two people we only ate half of one 12 in pie. The next time we saw her as it was hard to track her down we immediately asked for the check and a box. Those should have been three obvious “red flags” regarding our experience, and perhaps that should have alerted her to have a manager touch our table. I entered the restaurant slightly hungry and left starving.

It very busy and we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the mushroom pizza, which was really good — fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the Fried Brussels Sprouts were disappointing. They were overly salty and tasted a bit stale. We also tried the Fried Cheese Curds. They were fresh and tasty, although the dipping sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste.

Super Fast Service and Great Pizza. Warm olive appetizers were good, but be aware ALL of the Olives still had their pits, so eating them was a bit tedious.

I came in with three teenagers on Saturday night and had a great time, great food, and great service. The boys were very hungry after a day of mountain biking, and our waitress went above and beyond to have our appetizers come right away, and prioritized our other dishes to get them out very quickly. The Brussels sprouts were really good (I asked for no salt on top), the fried cheese curds were good (the green sauce is a bit odd and too sweet for me), the pizza was top notch, the mac and cheese was excellent, along with the very tasty meat balls and my favorite bone marrow.

Let me preface this review by saying that it pains me to write anything g negative. But being in management myself, I understand the necessity of constructive criticism. My wife, three year old, and three month old arrived at 8pm and asked for a table outside so that we could have room for the car seat our three month old was in and not disturb the patrons inside with our three year old that never shuts up. We were accommodated quickly by the hostess. Our waiter arrived promptly and took our drink order. The drinks arrived quickly. They were both very good. He was attentive and helpful as we asked him the different items on the charcuterie tray vs the cheese tray. We ended up choosing the cheese tray because it came with fruit and as any parent knows, toddlers will eat fruit. We also ordered a sausage and kale pizza. The charcuterie board arrived quicker than expected. And while it was delicious, it only had two fruits on it that may have added up to a half of a small apple. The cheeses were fantastic, as were the spreads and bread. Just one problem, we didn’t have utensils, so there was no way to cut or spread anything on the tray. The hostess came out to clean up the patio(they close at 9pm), so we asked her for Ute sold and she obliged. Small oversight that I tack up to us asking to be seated in the patio and the staff having already begun cleaning it for closing. Understandable. The tray was expensive, but such is everything these days, which makes it so difficult to take a family out to eat. The pizza arrived right as we were finishing the cheese tray. It was amazing. Can’t say enough about the pizza. I’m a fan of spice, so I looked for the pepper flakes. They weren’t on our table. Luckily, there was a shaker on the bar window behind us, so we grabbed them ourselves. Again, probably an oversight from closing procedures. Not a big deal. When we finally paid, the waiter - who was exceptionally kind and friendly - reached over my toddler and wife to grab the bill. It startled us a little bit. I went to eat the last piece of pizza and reached for the pepper shaker and it was gone. At some point either the waiter or the hostess had removed it from the table unbeknownst to us. Whatever. I ate the pizza as is and it was still delicious. As I stood up, preparing to leave, he grabbed three or four pizza crusts from in front of my son, in a hurry to clean up the table. This bothered me because he didn’t ask, he just grabbed them. Getting my son to eat anything at a restaurant is difficult, but he likes bread crusts. We would’ve taken them home with us. It just seemed like the staff were trying to go home, despite them having at least six more tables seated inside. My wife didn’t even realize he had taken them and asked me if I had grabbed the crusts. It was that quick. We got into our truck to leave at 8:58, 2 minutes before closing time. We were the only it family on the patio, but there were still many people inside the restaurant. I write a lot of Google reviews, so I did not post this review because I had a horrible experience. I actually didn’t. But I left feeling confused and disappointed. Again, the waiter was very friendly and genuine. He shouldn’t be reprimanded for any of this, but perhaps it can be insightful for future reference. For those curious about costs, our order was a full cheese tray, one pizza, one mixed drink, and one beer. Total after tip? $115. On that note alone, we probably won’t return. However, it was a delightful place with good food and a warm atmosphere.

Great pizza in Truckee! I’m from Long Island and live in South Lake Tahoe.I always stop by for a slice or a pie when I’m in town. It’s thin and crispy. The sauce is perfectly balanced and the cheese blend is amazing! Can’t wait to go back tomorrow! Yum!!!

The summer salad greens were fresh but for $16!! Ouch! For this review…the salad had 1 tangerine wedge, 1/4 walnut and 2 pea-sized goat cheese crumbs. The salad was not even a fraction of the salad ingredients shown on their website. I was disappointed.

Extremely misleading; the Best Pies Pizzeria has given us one of our worst experiences. The pizza and wings were terrible, my six year kid said “this pizza taste like my school pizza”, our waitress noticed we left the pizza behind, no box needed. The bathrooms are disgusting, dirty. They charge a 20% Gratuity on top of your bill, no matter if the service or food is good or not; I was told “because the owner said so, and that this was not a tip”. We will never comeback, very disappointed.

Overall delicious. Corn bread is tasty and just about right sweet. Grilled asparagus is a little too oily. Beef rib is juicy, but beef brisket is dry. Pork rib is juicy and a little bit touch of fruity sweet, but pork link is a little salty and hard to cut off with a knife.

Portion is great, everyone there is nice. BBQ dishes are pretty good! The burger next table looks very good, I may try it next time. We ended up packing some food to go as there are a lot of food! (Not complaining! :))

Great service and good food. Really enjoyed the blue moon pitcher, a two meat plate with some corn bread, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. Also had two burgers, garlic fries and a tortilla soup. All the food was fresh and tasted really good. The place itself was cozy and had a tv running as well.

Burgers were great, first and foremost. Big patty, grilled bun, etc., a la carte. Basic cheeseburger $16, small fry 6.75. The rest, not so great. Progressively priced 29 dollar sandwiches, large fries 15.75 (see photo), $40-50 meat plates. The smoked meat sampler tasted warmed-up. I don't blame them, if so, since no one was in there (on a Saturday), hard to justify smoking fresh meat every day. The sampler consisted of one "Beef rib" which was a big knuckle with almost no meat, two small slices of brisket, two pork rib bones. $18. In 2020, a sign was posted saying they raised prices 10% due to covid. Now that covid is in the past, prices are about 50% higher. Higher? My burger was $11 in 2022, yesterday $16. Meat sampler was $16 in 2023, now $18. I realize everything costs more now in CA, but it didn't have to be this way. If you voted progressive, thank yourselves for this austerity. I had a shake and cheeseburger in Austin recently - it was $8. Bill at Smokey's was about $190 with cash tip (as requested).

I found myself exploring the Truckee area after finishing a hike, I was thirsty and wanted a small bite- sadly I got neither as I strolled into Wild Cherries. The place was cozy with a lovely outside seating area. I immediately didn’t care for the “order at the counter” method they have going on. (My personal preference is to sit with available waitstaff) Needless of my feelings I was already there. The next inconvenience was nothing on their menu was cooked to order, it was sandwiches, wraps, quiches, pastries, etc. (for some this may not be an issue) The reason why I did not get to eat was because the line was literally out the door and the staff was in chill vibe, but given it’s a vacation hot-spot I can somewhat understand. I however was not inclined to wait. I felt a need to just provide you feedback on what to expect & what they offer. Please help yourself if you have more patience than me. Happy Waiting!!

Hands down the best blueberry croissant in the world. We all had something different, it was all exceptionally good. Fresh baked breads and pastries, and bagels. The vegetarian chilli was great with the chips. My caramel latte was pretty good as well.

Went to the outside patio with a friend and did not disappoint. I got the super burrito and couldn’t finish it. Fresh ingredients make for delicious food. Had margarita pitcher where the bartender wasn’t shy at all like in most places. Wish I lived closer to come by more often. 5/5 ask for Mike.

One of my favorite places to eat in downtown Truckee. The outdoor patio is perfect, especially on a warm evening. The service is friendly, the drinks strong, and the food delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in town! The food is delicious with unique flavors (especially the salsa). I love the chicken tortilla soup, fajitas & burritos. Nothing beats a “Dirty Ashtray” beer cocktail from the bar. The patio is awesome & the bartenders are the best! The bar is a great place to strike up conversation with fellow patrons & watch a game.

I've now been here 3 years in a row as a visitor to Truckee. This is our restaurant of choice. ;-) It's been here 37 years, and has that feeling of seasoned perfection. Like the recipes have been fine-tuned over the years and every single item is a hit. The staff have that same feeling - in a good way...they've always been pleasant and attentive, and seem to know exactly what you want at the right moment. Perfect cadence. You might say "it's just Mex", but this place is an exception. It's up there with the best of the best. Myself and a buddy both worked at a nice Mexican restaurant when we were young, and we both agree that the food here is excellent. Ah, and we've only sat outside..like the atmosphere. The inside might be nice too!

Food was fantastic. We had the chimichanga and queso and both were amazing. Very generous portions. Chips and salsa also great. On the hot side but not in a bad way. Prices were reasonable for the area and we had leftovers. Service and staff great. Visited on a Tuesday for lunch.

Honestly, it was okay. I called in to order, and the girl on the phone was incredibly friendly. It was a simple phone call, and the girl assured me it would take 15 minutes. When I went to pick it up, they weren’t really busy, so it was a quick pick-up, which is nice. However, when I got home and looked at my food, it was a bit disappointing. The bread was incredibly small, and there was so much bacon that it wasn’t a good ratio. On top of that, half of the bacon was burnt, and I know some people like that, but for me, it felt inedible. I also ordered fried pickles, and some of them weren’t fully cooked. They still had raw batter when I took a bite. It’s a bar, so my expectations weren’t too high, but it was still a bit disappointing.

Don't let the strip retail center vibe fool you. This place is pretty good! You seat yourself. The waitress usually comes to greet you within a couple minutes. There are a million tv's with every kind of sport showing. You literally can't go wrong with wings, burgers or pizza. I had the Jalisco Cheesesteak this last time and it was delicious.

We stopped in mid-day on a summer Sunday and there were only a handful of other customers in the restaurant. First the good - we had a friendly waitress and great service. Now the hard part, I hate giving bad reviews for food but I ordered a BLT and it was horrible. I thought it sounded like a great summer day sandwich but was disappointed. When you think of BLT's you imagine a mix of the juice from the tomatoes and mayo dripping down your chin. Not here. The sandwich was served dry - ask for mayo. The bacon was overcooked to the point where it wasn't strips but crumbles. There was way too much lettuce and the pieces were not torn to fit the bread, which was too small for the sandwich. The most disappointing part was, however, the tomato - a super thin slice - barely perceptible. If you try Blue Coyote, try something other than the BLT.

Came on a Friday night in late June and found a seat at the bar. Vodka drinks were poured decent, local IPA was tasty, burger and onion rings were on point amd most importantly the service was good. Bro bartender was attentive despite having a full bar and me being a new guy in a sea of seemingly locals. Exactly what a guy needed tonight.

This ice cream food truck was parked near Mackinaw Road & N Lake Blvd. Our group got the vanilla bean with rainbow sprinkles, cookies and cream (pictured), and raspberry sorbet - all in big waffle cones. Everything was sooooooo delicious! It was a nice cold treat on a summer day!

This is a lovely bistro with a European vibe. We were greeted and seated promptly, and our server was at our table in a few minutes. The drinks selection is excellent, with interesting and unique selections. The menu is fabulous, French-based, and something for everyone. My husband had the Ravioles du Dauphiné, with shaved black truffles, and it was superb. I had the Rainbow Trout, perfectly cooked. We shared the haricots verts, delicious with butter and almonds. We split a chocolate lava cake for dessert, which was served with vanilla ice cream and basil. Service throughout the meal was exceptional. A perfect dinner!

Very high quality food and service at this upscale restaurant. Baked goods and pasta are made in house, and are spectacular quality. Food menu is inventive yet easily accessible. The drink list is excellent and the staff is knowledgeable for recommendations. You can easily get carried away in cost, but you will enjoy every minute of it.

We had a lovely Anniversary dinner. The comped ravioli dish was soooo good and very much appreciated. All around lovely presented and delicious food from the escargot to the cassoulet to the bistro burger and fries. Took us back to our honeymoon in the south of France almost 9 years ago! Shannon is a wonderful server. Perfect amount of attentiveness while letting us enjoy our meal. As a long time industry vet watching the level of service deteriorate over the last few years this really is refreshing to see. Is it pricey? Yes, but you get what you pay for...and it's worth every penny. Thank you for making our Anniversary dinner special!

Amazing French place with $85 tasting menu that was one of my FACEIT’s tasting menus I’ve ever had - and the staff obviously was really focused on making sure patrons have a great experience. I’m recommending this place to everyone I know.

What an amazing meal. I made a reservation for the wrong day and they were so accommodating in getting us seated despite my mistake. We did the tasting menu (as a table of 5) and it was incredible. So much amazing food, every bite got better. From start to finish, this meal was fantastic and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

There is a tendency at nice restaurants in the US right now to put sugar on everything, and that was my experience here. I ordered the pan seared salmon. It was cooked *perfectly*, but all I could taste was the sweetness of the miso vinaigrette. Total overkill.

Saw a mention about happy hour 3-5 pm with bocce so stopped in. Was seated in front patio, nice atmosphere but we were the only ones here at 4 pm on a Sunday! And bocce is on back patio. Was told we could go back but we just had bevies and left.

My experience at Stella was overall pleasant. I came here after a long day snowboarding at Palisades Tahoe. Overall, I was let down by my Short Rib dish, but the table trio and little gem salad were delicious. I found the short rib too lacking the flavor described in the dish. It also was dry. But the roasted mistake mushrooms and other items were very good. I know my friends enjoyed the burgers a lot. I guess I just ordered incorrectly! I would return to Stella to try the food again.

I went here for breakfast and holy moly, the latte I ordered was the most delicious and perfectly made latte I have ever had. The gal working that day definitely knew how to perfectly steam the milk. She was very friendly and attentive as well. The food was great, a little bland but still tasty. No complaints here and I will definitely check them out for other dishes the next time I’m back that way.

I stayed at Gravity Haus for a couple days this week, and ate at Stella twice for breakfast and once for dinner. I’d definitely eat here again, especially if I stay in Truckee again. The breakfast on the first day was really nice! The coffee was pretty good even though it was self-serve. I got the traditional breakfast and loooooved the potatoes and bacon. The potatoes were particularly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The scrambled eggs were bland and overcooked though. That night I had dinner there, got the seared scallops which were probably the best cooked scallops I’ve had in a long time. We also had the truffle gnocchi, rack of lamb, rice pudding, and cheesecake. Overall, the food was excellent but each thing had a small miss short of being absolutely perfect. For example, some of the greens in the scallop entree was overly salty or that the cheesecake’s brown butter crumble had some bigger granules of sugar that made the experience gritty and felt like pieces of sand. Still highly recommend this place though. Then the following morning we stopped by to have breakfast. I got the traditional breakfast and was a bit surprised. The waitress (a different person from yesterday) noticed my reaction and asked if I had any questions. I told her that the scrambled eggs looked better compared to yesterday’s. She explained that it’s a different chef (and yes it was). I enjoyed the eggs more and the bread. The bacon was still good, maybe a bit crispier if some people like that more. The potatoes were less crispy and fluffy though. Still good and would come again! I was only disappointed that their coffee machine wasn’t working when we had breakfast the second day. My husband and I each ordered the berry smoothie though and found it to be good and not too sweet! Both days the service was very attentive and nice. Chef Watkins came to talk to patrons at dinner service as well.

We’ve dined at restaurants around the world and we were delighted with the creativity of the chef and the talent in the kitchen. The service was excellent too. We started with the oysters which were yummy. We followed up with the miso eggplant appetizer which was amazing. We’ve never tasted anything like it. We highly recommend giving it a try. It packs a punch flavor-wise so we recommend splitting it. We opted for the bone marrow entree with chimchurri sauce which was not as we expected. We’ve had it simply served with salt so the acidic flavor of the sauce and salad was unexpected. We also had the octopus which was truly delicious. This we also recommend. It was a lovely combination of flavors and textures. We ended with the deconstructed cheesecake which they served with a candle in honor of my birthday. Tasty stuff. We’d talked to a few folks in Truckee who had mixed reviews of the restaurant which made us nervous about our choice but we were very happy with the choice. Don’t let the casual atmosphere mislead you. The menu is creative and well worth checking out.

Me and my friend came for dinner and were super impressed. Service was great, menu well designed, not very crowded. Manager was very accommodating and recommended excellent white wine which paired well with our food. We also came in the the next day for brunch. Delicious coffee and French toast!!

Hey, they've got a great selection of craft beers. And you have to try the mustache pretzel, it's incredible! The Alibi is a really nice place, it's clean, bright, and welcoming. Even the restrooms were super clean and bright.

There are quite a few breweries in the area, but Alibi is the best BY FAR! With a great variety of tap beer, they have something for everyone. The beers they make here honestly stack up with the best.

Good time at this spot! It’s a welcoming and homely brewery with a great outdoor patio and a lively quiz night happening. The beer was fantastic. The food was above average, and while it took about 50 minutes, they were upfront about it due to the trivia night. The weather was perfect, and I enjoyed a friendly conversation with a couple at the German beer table-style seating. I would definitely recommend it!

Husband and I shared the shrimp tacos, arugula and fennel salad, and a pretzel with cheese and mustard. All of it amazing: the tacos-flavorful, inventive, loved the marinated carrots on the side, and the diced mango and lemon aioli drizzled on top put them over the top. Very full tacos, so get more napkins! The salad-tender greens, toasted almonds, red onion and super bright lemon vinaigrette made this a superb salad (will have to duplicate at home!). The pretzel-hot, crispy and chewy, loved the flaky salt on top. We both fell in love with the beer-horseradish-grainy mustard. Cheese was good, we were just full. We snuck it under the table for our dog, and he gives a thumbs (paw) up! Friendly service, too.

Food changes based on who's there. It's also a bit pricey. Service has always been outstanding and there's generally a beer on tap that you will really enjoy. It's a nice pit stop on the way to Reno or Tahoe. If you are staying in Truckee, it's a great place to hang out and chill.

I guess I'm old fashioned. I expect french fries 🍟 in a place that serves sandwiches. When I asked about it they said we are just quick sandwiches. It's not a full kitchen back there. But you can get a fryer or couple That just plug in. Otherwise all was good

I had a "Costcoburger" for lunch there, but yes the ingredients were fresh. Service was very nice and let me park a barely fitting truck after aborting a downtown Truckee lunch due to crowded madness. I'm glad I had a noncorporate lunch in beloved Truckee and they were there, though the food was not great.

I don't understand all the rave reviews. The only reason I gave it two stars was for the cold beer on tap. The pizza was undercooked, so the crust was flat and soggy and the onions were basically raw. The side Caesar salads were ok but served in chipped bowls, and I had to go ask the girl at the counter to bring it to us. No a/c, so it was hot. $60 for just the two of us, before tip.

Love both locations. Pizza is so tasty and their Mexican food is very authentic and delicious. Price is a little high but I would stop as often as I'm driving through.

I really want to like this place, as it is a charming little building. I believe they are understaffed, as the friendly cashier handling money and operating the register also prepared the food (without gloves, and without handwashing). Due to the sanitary concerns I would steer clear until they sort this out, as it's always unsettling to see someone touching raw ingredients after answering the phone, giving change, or using a dirty register.

Pizzeria by cvs, their large is $22 and can feed a family of 4. Round table pizza large is $28 and you'll need 3 larges to feed a family of 4. Rounds table pizza needs to be gone. Place is disgusting inside and should be shut down.

I ordered a small cheese pizza and the clowns that run the store somehow forgot the cheese. I really hope Domino's opens a chain in Truckee soon and runs this dump out of business.

Worse place to eat in Truckee. I knew better but gave Round Table in Truckee a try again this evening with a few friends. Ordered bone in wings for the group and they came out as boneless wings. Was willing to just go with it, but then we bit into the wings and the were still frozen in the middle. After returning them they laughed and acted troubled that they had to redo them. Our group also ordered 2 pizzas. After watching the other three tables that had showed up after us get their pizza and two of them returning their pizzas, we went to the counter to ask if ours would be ready soon. After acting confused and looking around they realized they had out our pizzas in to go boxes and forgot to bring them to our table. At least my 9$ dollar glass of beer was almost cold. It takes a lot for me to leave a poor review, let alone being this specific. The staff should be embarrassed. It was slow and they were back there with 5 people. As someone that’s local and knows what it’s like to work in the food industry, this is incredibly sad.

We ordered delivery and our wait time said 40 minutes.. average, but it ended up taking double that time. When we called checking on it they said it was hot out of the oven but it still took 20+ minutes after that. Would have been nice for them to use the phone # we provided to call and give us an honest time frame. Pizza wasn’t very hot but the taste was good. The driver was nice which is the only good thing about the night!

Ordered a medium (i.e., tiny) pizza with 4 toppings to go. It was ready in less than 20 minutes but was burning away in the oven for a few minutes too long. Paid $30 for a small overcooked pizza. Eat somewhere else for better quality and value. Sub-par would be a very generous evaluation. I'm not the sort to write negative reviews unless a restaurant goes above and beyond to disappoint. I came to the chain pizzeria to save some cash and feed some people but I would have done much better with both virtually anywhere else. 7-11 has frozen pizzas hot and ready under 2 minutes that are 1/5 the price, substantially larger and better tasting. For $30 I could have gotten two beautifully crafted pizzas from Old Town Tap or delicious takeout from another fantastic family owned restaurant in Truckee.

We headed over here for a Linner. You know the meal between lunch and dinner. The staff was great and very friendly and was very helpful and patient with us while ordering. The food we got came out great and we enjoyed it. There's not a lot of these where we live so it's great to be able to go to something I remember from my youth and go get a nice hot dog and some other items. Very good service, very good people and food.

Great ice-cream and even better people. We tried to walk through the drive through just past hours for inside service and they offered to open up the building and let us in. Gave my dog a giant pup cup for free too!

Peggy, Alyssa, and Marisa are quite possibly the best employees this location has ever had. The speed, service, quality, etc have all gone WAY up since these three have joined the team. The interior could use some sprucing up by whoever owns it but that's really the only "complaint."

Super good food and fast service is what this place is all about! We use the drive thru about once a week and it is always super fast and on point! I've never had a complaint and will continue visiting every once in a while!

The blizzards are good but other than that it took them 20 minutes for them to give me the wrong order and my friend asked for a salad and they gave her rotisery chicken with a little bit of tomatoes and lettuce.The bacon and patty on my burger were basically raw and doesn't taste good at all. The people working were not very nice and they were acting like we were stupid. I would not suggest this place. The bathroom is gross and the bad smell of the soap stayed on my hands for hours, in the "family" bathroom there was a urinal, they also need to learn how to sweep.They also broke their promise.

Went to order a blizzard and was told they don’t serve chocolate ice cream at this location. How do you not serve chocolate ice cream at an ice cream shop? I’ve never heard of such a thing 🫠

Charged 25 cents extra for extra utensils when the only utensil I got was the spoon that’s supposed to come with the blizzard. Also the Superman blizzard sucks.

Ordered the Leonida pizza and it was absolutely incredible! The crust was absolutely divine, and a touch of mixed greens and balsamic drizzle made it mouth-watering. Can’t wait to go again and try more pies!!!

Ordered a pizza and double order of wings to go. Was told 25 minute pick up time. Both the wings and pizza were cold and needed to be heated again in the oven. Veggies had what appeared to be mold black spots on multiple pieces. Order was $70+ including tip. We showed up exactly 25mins as told. Poor experience for a high price.

At least a dozen restaurants in this little mountain town serve pizza (half of which are dedicated to pizza), but this spot is my favorite. One size fits all and it's a couple dollars more than it should be per pizza, but it's a great spot to sit outside in the summer or pick it up and take it home in the winter!

We share pizza , salad, and wings . The pizza was amazing! It's really tasty. We tried Hawaiian and margeritha pizza . Margeritha was our favorite! Caesar salad was good but has a lot of dressing. Cozy place inside and outside when it isn't cold. Good service.

The pizza is good but the hours are unpredictable. Several times, I've arrived more than an hour before the posted closing time to learn that they are either already closed or they're closing soon so I'd be inconveniencing them by sitting down. Despite being around the corner from my house, it's too risky to make a plan to eat at Pizza on the Hill.

It is a real comfortable place to have a slice, with a good salad and a glass wine and not break the bank (for Truckee). It is just a good, family vibe atmosphere where the kids can run about while you enjoy some time outside or inside.

Pizza was decent (had the pepperoni and the garlic chicken one) but the service wasn't very good. Everything took longer than it should have. Waiter brought us water, but no menus. When food came out we had to ask for plates to put it on. If they can up their service game, this place will be a lot better. The outdoor setting is fantastic for kids. Just be prepared to wait. Also the restaurant shares its bathrooms with the club, and they were pretty gross on the evening we were there...

I am glad that this place is under new ownership. The place is so welcoming and clean. The sandwiches are always good and the quality is what I always expect, that is why I keep going back. The staff is always friendly and willing to put some extra items if I ask. I will recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite and the prices are still cheaper than most places.

Yo, the pastrami sandwich was pretty dope — olives, pickles, and mustard all gave it some nice kick. But gotta say, the pastrami flavor was kinda muted, didn’t really hit as hard as I wanted. Also, wish they piled on more meat, felt a bit skimpy on that front. Still tasty tho, I’d come back for sure

Great service, very clean one of my favorite spots to eat in Truckee. Take your family there anytime to get the 2 foot Sub it’s a great deal.

This is not the port of subs I remembered years ago. Meats packaged and not cut fresh. Not the taste it used to be that made port of subs. This place looks abandoned with no signage. After 30 years waiting to come back,it'll be my last. The kids that served us was nice.

Sandwich was horrible, dry, not much meat, bread stale, didn't offer to heat bread. Girls nice but need more training. Cost for 5 inch sandwichx2 and a bag of chips $19. Won't go back

They charge almost twice as much for some items as other taco bells. For example the build your own luxe cravings box is $9.99 here in Truckee but $5.99 in midtown sac near the capitol. The fact they forget items sometimes is annoying but not as bad as the price gouging especially when it's often consistently the worst quality taco bell I've been to.

I guess at $22 an hour they still can’t follow the screen for custom orders… They’re attitudes aren’t the best either. Y’all are making more than I do hourly. How about trying a little harder so you can fix these reviews and make this a better stop? It’s in an awesome location.

I was at the drive thru today 06/18/2025 at 6:16pm. My order #299. Rude employee at the drive thru charge me extra $6.15. I did try to call at 6:46 pm and they let it ring then hang up the phone did not answer to ask for my refund. I will attached here what I order and what he charge me. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!!!!!!

Music is always very loud, too upbeat. I can never ear there! Batheoom Music is even louder. Stáff is great, place is clean, foot is usually warm and fresh.

They are extremely stingy. We paid extra money for sauces and there was no sauce at all inside our food. Upon asking they said that’s just how it is take refund if you want. I mean who does that over a little bit of sauce.

Indian guy works there is horrible.. no service manners. Worst part is he cheats customers .. gives short in balance .. he cheats every customer comes there.. be careful of this place. Make sure to count your balance in cash ..

First off, it appears that their prices are higher than the average Subway. I don't have the prices memorized, so I can't be sure of it, but the total comes out higher than what I'm used to. The main reason for two stars was that I came in today at 10 minutes after 12:00, two servers on shift, and one of them is reconciling the cash drawer. There were people standing and waiting a little longer than they should have nobody got upset but still. Like the blue Angels say, timing is everything. Upate 4-4-19. I had ordered a wrap, and forgot to tell the guy making it not to cut it. I tried to stop him just as he started but it was too late. He insisted on remaking it on a fresh wrap, and was done in just a couple of minutes. It was a very big deal to him that I leave satisfied, and it reflected very well on the restaurant. There is still that pricing issue, but that's not a real big deal. Because of him I have updated my rating from two stars to four.

Asked for veggie delight and ended up with this monstrosity. Guy couldn't understand me and couldn't grasp the concept of no meat. Nice guy and all, just terrible sandwich.
