Sandwich shop
Deli
Restaurant
High Test Deli, also known as the High Test Deli & Sweet Shop, is a popular daytime deli located in Bryson City, North Carolina. This brick-walled eatery has been serving a diverse selection of international sandwiches, along with soups, salads, and sweets for over a decade. Their signature Cuban sandwich is a best seller, but customers can customize every sandwich with numerous bread varieties, cheeses, and protein options.
Bryson City’s Hidden Sandwich Goldmine If you’re passing through Bryson City and craving something hearty, homemade, and flat-out delicious, make your way to High Test. This little gem is buzzing with energy—and for good reason. From the moment you walk in, the place feels alive. The line might be long, but it moves fast, and trust me, it’s worth the wait. The staff is quick, kind, and clearly care about the food they’re serving. Everything that came out of that kitchen looked like it was made with love—and tasted like it too. The sandwiches? Incredible. We tried a few, and every bite was a winner. The bread alone deserves its own shoutout. The marble rye was rich and flavorful, the kind of bread that makes you slow down and appreciate what you’re eating. And the berry wheat—now that was a pleasant surprise. Slightly sweet, a little nutty, and the perfect partner to the high-octane sandwich. The layers of flavor in that one were something else: bold, balanced, and satisfying. Even with the crowd, our food came out quickly and fresh. It’s clear these folks know what they’re doing—nothing felt rushed or slapped together. The vibe is relaxed but upbeat, like everyone’s in on a delicious secret. Bottom line: if you’re in Bryson City and want more than just your average deli lunch, High Test is the move. Whether you’re hiking, rafting, or just wandering through the mountains, stop in, grab a sandwich, and taste why this spot is a favorite with locals and visitors alike. It’s the kind of place that leaves you full, happy, and already planning your next trip back.

We've been here a few times over the years and it hasn't changed a bit. Still making some of the best sandwiches and ice cream sandwiches. They also have a great beer selection! Decor is car/ gas station based as well as the sandwiches.

Amazing staff and food!!! I finally was able to enjoy a GLUTEN FREE DELI SUB IN A DELICATESSEN!!! Would have tried an ice cream sandwich but was soooo full from the sandwich!! Small space and fills quick but nice atmosphere

Fun place this. Sandwich (well-loaded 'No Lead' on marble rye) was top notch; friendly & efficient staff. Recommended

Annoyed my husband with how many times I was saying “Mmm” over the gluten free ice cream sandwich. Delicious food, great atmosphere, super friendly owners and staff. This deli was recommended to us by the Longview Resort staff, and so glad it was!! I’ll be dreaming about the sweet potato fries, hot dog, and ice cream sandwich!

Loved the vibe of this deli. The owners were so friendly and the food was delicious 😋 10/10 Recommend!

Perfect place in Bryson City - lovely sandwiches, nice price, whit great value for money. They do gluten free bread for all sandwiches.
Anders N — Google review
This small but mighty location is a special delight. Something for everyone, but only seating for a few, so be prepared to wait or get it to-go. They do close early- 3pm. Glad we got there just in time. The serving size is perfect. Absolutely loved the chili cheese fries. We added bacon. And the Reuben- yummy!!!! Will certainly come back to try their other items and desserts.

Italian restaurant
Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant is a charming and stylish eatery located in a small mountain town. It offers traditional Italian cuisine, including flavorful pasta dishes, seafood, and delectable pizzas. The warm and inviting interior features an open kitchen, wood floors, and red tablecloths. With its full bar and authentic fare, this restaurant is a local favorite for those seeking an elegant yet casual dining experience.
Came in tonight. I live in Tennessee so I’m not a local. The worst part was fruit flies. ( by the door and window ) I explained this to the server and he moved my seat. No hesitation, no hastle. The food was almost perfect. My first steak was over cooked. Medium well.. the server was very nice and replaced my steak. The owner himself recooked my steak. He came up to me and placed his hand on my shoulder and asked how the new steak was. I can’t lie. The steak was incredible. I did throw some salt and pepper on it and it could’ve used garlic, thyme , rosemary. But as far as the quality, texture , and cook. The owner nailed it perfectly. Their pasta is incredible! The herbal olive oil they serve you with for your bread …. Again … incredible!!!! The head chef / owner …. The man has confidence for a reason… he can cook!!! He did not get angry when I sent the steak back. Nor did he get angry because a fruit fly got into my drink. He simply replaced it. He tried to make my ticket out so that I would not be charged for my drinks or my dessert. I pointed out that I wanted to pay for them. ( still did not pay for my dessert ) i ended up paying $110 for a $58 meal that was turned into a $78 meal because I didn’t want anything for free. The chef laughed when I told him how great the food was. He has confidence because he knew in his heart that he made it right. I promised him a 5 star review. Not because he asked. But because he deserved it. ( he did not ask !!!!!!!! ) please go here. The food is wonderful. The owner and the service is just as wonderful. I’m very pleased with my visit ! The bathroom was slightly dirty. And the fruit flies were a pest . Other than that….. juicy, high quality food. . I’m very impressed. It’s a beautiful place to visit in NC. I send prayers to this man for success. And I love his food very much. ! Also… the salad was very clean!!!!!! No dirt !!! No brown spots !!!! Extremely crisp! And fresh! I would give it a full blown 5 star rating if not for the fruit flies and the bathroom. Everything else is absolutely perfect and that’s just me being nit picky!

We had a delightful dining experience at Pasqualino Italian Restaurant in Bryson City. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly our exceptional waiter, who was not only incredibly engaging but also went above and beyond to make thoughtful recommendations. My wife has food allergies, and his attentiveness in suggesting safe and delicious options made all the difference—she was truly pleased with her choices, which made the evening all the more enjoyable. I opted for their daily special, a grilled chicken spinach salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The atmosphere was pleasant, though the restrooms could have used a bit more attention. Given the age of the building, I can understand the challenges in maintaining certain aspects, but overall, it did not detract from our experience. The service we received elevated the meal to something special. From start to finish, our waiter’s knowledge, energy, and hospitality set the tone for a memorable evening. Pasqualino is well worth a visit, especially if you're looking for great food and outstanding service!

Authentic tasting Italian here in Bryson City, NC. Large portions. Spaghetti was on point. Definitely some of the best authentic tasting Spaghetti I have had. Fettuccine great and rich tasting. Chicken Parm was crispy outside, but tender chicken. Great service & not too long of a wait time. Highly recommended this restaurant with your Bryson visits.
Jenn G — Google review
We hit the place at the near end of a rush. Our witness was busy, but even after she checked 2 of her 5 tables out, we waited: Order beverage-15 minutes- no fresh tea, fly in beverage Bread: 10 more minutes Salad: 15 more minutes- soggy lettuce Meal: Alfredo sauce was terrible. Looked like flavored milk. My sons chicken aldredo with barely 4 Oz for $18.99 Was my second visit. Prob last

A surprisingly good find in the middle of the Western part of WNC. I had (local) Trout Almondine and my wife had grilled Salmon. Both were excellent. You know the kitchen really cares when the chef comes out to check on people and see patrons enjoy the fruits of their craft. We encountered a dirty glass when we first sat down but other than that the experience was great.

Nice Italian eatery in Bryson City. Classy enviroment and friendly service. If you get Jack you will be pleased, he is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to your needs.

Had a late lunch on a busy Saturday. The food was phenomenal! Homemade bread sticks out of this world. The wait staff was wonderful!
Deonna A — Google review
My friend group and I were visiting Western NC to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and picked this spot based on it being a favorite with guests at our hotel, but it was not a favorite of mine. I asked for a lentil and sausage soup, steak filet (medium rare) and Alfredo pasta. The soup was the best part, just a tad salty. The steak was overcooked (medium well) and no seasoning. The pasta used spaghetti, and the sauce didn't have seasoning either. Our waitress did the best she could during the dinner rush and we appreciated her efforts. Overall, 3/10, would not recommend.

Mountain Perks is a charming, family-owned coffee shop located in Bryson City, North Carolina. Situated across from the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Depot, it's a convenient stop for a delicious breakfast or lunch before embarking on train excursions. The shop offers a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating and serves an array of light eats such as quiche, wraps, salads, and homemade bagel sandwiches.
My friends and I keep stopping here for breakfast sandwiches and coffee when we visit Bryson City to paddle in the Summer. The food is too good to pass up. Good vibes and art inside and everyone's always very nice.
Dan M — Google review
I stopped in for breakfast and coffee before catching my train at the depot across the street, and I am so glad I did. This coffee shop is warm and cozy, with quick service and a genuinely friendly staff. The drinks are fully customizable, but they also offer a menu with plenty of great options if you are not sure what to order. It is the perfect little spot for a quick stop, and the convenient location makes it even better. Overall, a charming coffee shop I would happily visit again.
Kierstyn M — Google review
First of all, queer friendly. We came one day for coffee before hiking and had to come back the next day for food and coffee again. Best cinnamon rolls. Coffee is spot on. Quiche is delicious and lox bagel is lovely. Staff is very friendly.
Cristian M — Google review
Great spot for a bagel pre train ride. Not a coffee shop in my view. The cappuccino is 12 or 16 oz which alone says it’s not a cappuccino. Like a barista once said, if there are size choices….,
Andrew N — Google review
they were nice-ish but don't come here hoping for an iced latte, because they use "cold brew concentrate" for them. a little confused as to why they're using cold brew for an iced latte when they're called an espresso bar, it was not tasty. we spent $42 on 5 basic drinks, and they add a 10% fee for to-go orders for "extra supplies and work" although all we needed was a drink tray. i wouldn't come here if you want good coffee.
Meagan ! — Google review
Wow! Great place with a great location. Directly across from the train depot, Mountain Perks is a delightful place to grab a quick cup of coffee or sit down for lunch and people watch. We visited 3 times in our 5 day getaway if that tells you anything! The food and coffee were amazing but the best part was the people. The owners are very personable and have LOTS of great tips for the area. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Mountain Perks!
Michele R — Google review
Stopped for a quick snack and coffee before heading out of town and it hit the spot! The manager (I assume) warned us they were a bit short staffed and it might be a bit slower than their usual, but I really didn't even feel like it was that long of a wait for food or drinks. We had good coffee, a cinnamon roll (so flaky and yummy - could have been a tad warmer), and the sausage and pepper jack quiche - delish! The staff came by to check on us multiple times and everyone was friendly. It was clean and cute inside. We'd stop back by whenever we are in town again!
Lauren L — Google review
Went here yesterday for breakfast before our hike. The service was outstanding very friendly. We had the BLT and a few of the other bagels and the food was so good! So much food for such a great price. We also had a few of the coffee‘s and they tasted amazing. I would highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite and a coffee when you’re in town!

Nate and Nick's Pizza is a popular spot in Bryson City, NC, offering a familiar setting with a fun and relaxed flair. The restaurant has been satisfying customers for over 15 years with their hand-tossed pizzas loaded with fresh ingredients like whole-milk mozzarella cheese, savory meats, and fresh veggies. They also offer a selection of ice-cold craft beers from local breweries to complement the delicious pies.
Great food, the bacon cheese fries were delicious! Everyone was super friendly. You order at the counter when you walk in, then find a seat and get your drinks. Our food came out quickly; we went on a Thursday around 2 and it wasn’t very crowded.

It was our first time here and visiting Bryson City. I ordered the parmesan meatball sub and my wife got the mediterranean pizza. Food was good and service was decent. I’d plan to come back here with my kids and try another type of pizza.
Wayne W — Google review
Had a great experience at Nate and Nicks! My wife loved the gluten free gourmet pizza!! Burgers were great as well. My wife was also pleased with their wine selections. Will check out again when we go to Bryson City!
Terry C — Google review
Absolutely garbage pizza. Never had a worse pizza in place that called themselves a restaurant. Greasy, nasty cheese that falls off the pizza if you try to pick a piece up. You have to walk back up to the front to order your food, then carry your paper plates and cups back to the table. Get your own drinks. They bring all your food out in to go containers. Save yourself time and money and go to Domino's before eating this trash food.
J F — Google review
Excellent pizza! Never had a crust with a slight crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Very fresh ingredients. The owner was super nice and helpful. Will definitely come back when we're visiting Bryson City again.
Jen — Google review
Amazing pizza and craft beers! We tried the spinach dip pizza, bbq chicken pizza and buffalo pimento pizza and they were all delicious! Wish we lived near Nate and Nick's, but it was definitely the perfect cap to our week vacation here in the mountains!
Danielle H — Google review
Enjoyed eating here after a hot and tiring day exploring the town after the train ride. Most of the other restaurants seemed to be closed midweek. We had pizza and a side salad. Both were delicious and we even had some leftover pizza to enjoy on our hike in Deep Creek trails the next day!
Elizabeth L — Google review
From the minute I walked in the door everyone was smiling and friendly. I immediately wished we had just come here instead of the brewery down the street. They had an amazing selection of craft beers and a dog friendly patio. We only ordered takeout, but we will definitely be back later this week with our fur babies. Our pizza’s were amazing!!!

Restaurant
Jimmy Mac's Restaurant is a long-standing steakhouse in Bryson City, offering a casual and old-fashioned dining experience. In addition to their signature steaks, they also take pride in serving fresh seafood and delicious barbecue dishes. The cozy atmosphere is adorned with vintage art, creating a charming setting for diners. Established in Florida in 1978 and later relocated to North Carolina, this beloved restaurant has become a go-to spot for foodies seeking quality meals at reasonable prices.
When we entered the restaurant, there was a pleasant love performer performing Jim Croce, John Denver and other timeless hits. It really added to the atmosphere. The 16oz ribeye, was probably of Angus quality, we ordered it blackened and medium rare. The steak was juicy, seasoned just right, and the temperate was accurate. It was a good steak. The shrimp po boy, shrimps were battered nicely, the sandwich was very good, though I preferred that the bread be toasted. The elk burger was a hit, cooked to the right temp. The waitresses are all friendly and attentive. Next time I come to Bryson City, Jimmy Mac will definitely be on my list
Chu L — Google review
At first, I was a tish worried. Maybe I should backtrack a bit—Jimmy Mac’s is tucked inside a cool old mountain-town building, with all the charm you’d hope for. Dark wood, quirky chairs, that lived-in kind of oldness that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a local gem. They were out of a few things—baked potatoes, coleslaw—and for a minute, I wondered if we’d made the right call. But that worry vanished the second our food hit the table. My blackened trout was delightful—perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and the fresh veggies on the side were surprisingly delectable. And those onion rings? Exactly what onion rings should be. My husband’s burger and fries were also top-tier—juicy, flavorful, with fries that actually made you stop and appreciate a potato. And then there was our waitress. Hands down, one of my favorites in a long while. Fun, quirky, totally dialed in. She made the whole meal better just by being herself. Jimmy Mac’s might run out of coleslaw sometimes, but they’re not short on charm, flavor, or hospitality. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
Cheryl A — Google review
A great restaurant where throwback diner meets fine dining. The grilled trout was excellent. The mixed vegetables side was one of the best ever; stewed and well seasoned. My spouse had the crab cakes which were also very good!
David H — Google review
So delicious! Their 'Merica French toast is some of the best ever with an incredible homemade cream cheese and fruit. My bacon was cooked exactly how I ordered it.
Laurie M — Google review
Checked out Jimmy Mac's for breakfast. They just opened about 2 months ago. The food was great. Biscuits and gravy were amazing. Omelette was really good, I added some sausage gravy to it. Kids love the French toast and pancakes. Scrambled eggs were not a big hit but not a big deal.
Nate C — Google review
Honestly, the only good thing I can say is the staff was friendly. What a JOKE!! My husband ordered the S.O.S platters ($22+) with FF and slaw. There were 4 shrimp, 3 scallops, and 3 oysters. There were just as many FF as seafood. We have never seen a seafood plate so sorry. He said the oysters in a can are bigger and better than what he was given. Yet, I ordered buffalo chicken plate and got 1/2 a chicken? It makes no sense! Very frustrated and extremely disappointed since this is the first I have eaten there and had heard great reviews. We are so disappointed at this point, I don’t believe we would try it again nor recommend.
Stacey L — Google review
I have not eaten here in a few years because usually there’s a wait. Since we were later than the usual lunchtime, we were able to be seated right away. The local trout was delicious, as well as my onion rings, which were lightly battered in house… The best that I have had! You go here for home cooking, and that’s what you get… Or what you should expect 😋
Melissa C — Google review
The food here was great. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries and my husband got a steak, salad, and baked potato. Portion sizes are awesome and the steak was cooked exactly how he requested it. The restaurant itself is family friendly, and everyone was kind, the service was just kind of slow. The food was definitely worth the wait, though. We will be back to try some of the stuff people at other tables were getting, for sure.

La Dolce Vita Bakery is a popular spot in downtown Bryson City, known for its tempting house-roasted gourmet coffees from around the world and delicious coffee drinks. The bakery is a simple, spacious, and comfortable place buzzing with activity as tourists and regulars stop by for nitro cold brews, huge salads, homemade bagels, and sweet treats like cupcakes, muffins, and cookies.
This establishment is truly remarkable, aptly described as "the little bakery that could." Situated amidst the picturesque mountains of Bryson City, it offers an exceptional experience. The culinary offerings are outstanding, with flavors that evoke a sense of divine delight. My bagel, though visually unassuming, was delightful in taste and texture. I highly recommend that anyone visiting this area make a point to stop by. Additionally, the seating area at the front of the restaurant provides a stunning view of the charming town, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Everyone has an opinion on bagels depending where they’re from but we can all agree a good bagel sandwich always deserves respect and these bagel sandwiches deserve a full salute. We stayed in BC for 5 days and came here twice for the Spicy Southerner. Finally, a bagel sandwich packed with flavor and filling - homemade pimento cheese sauce, egg, bacon, and added toppings that make the flavor that much better with a bit of spice to round it off. And yes, the bagel was homemade, and delicious, and yes, we ate the spicy southerner 3 times but all the sandwiches on the menu look equally as unique and flavorful - we just found a favorite and stuck with it! Staff was super nice and helpful and food was prepared with care and quickly - excellent stop for breakfast/lunch.

A cozy cafe with healthy, hearty menu options and terrific coffee. The food is freshly prepared to order and nicely plated. Indoor seating is somewhat limited, especially at times before and after railroad tours. There is seating out front including places to attach your furry friend’s leash. The biscuits are fluffy and tender inside and flaky and crusty on the outside. The chocolate chip biscotti are delicious too. The grits are out of this world good and can be ordered as part of an entree or a side. If you’re looking for a breakfast that will keep you fueled and feeling full try the breakfast sweet potato hash (pictured).

Best Mocha Frappes around! Love that they are consistent and I always know the color (and taste) of my drink will be the same! 😉. The bacon, egg and cheese bagel is my favorite there.

We absolutely loved this place. We stopped in every morning while on our trip. The biscuits and gravy, bagel w/ cinnamon butter, & Black Beary latte were phenomenal. Definitely check it out if you are in the area. We were able to sit on the patio with our pup!

Very busy on a Saturday morning before the train departs so be ready to wait. Ordered the Nantahala on an everything bagel and a guava scone - both were very good. House made chai is actually spicy and tasty. The Hazel Creek Blackwater was delicious! Worth the wait. FYI there is an extra fee for take-out.

Wonderful everything, popular with locals and travelers. Fresh made. I loved the Raspberry Thumbprint, guava scone, biscotti it's exactly how it needs to be. The hummus was loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, nuts, olives, cucumbers. I chose it on a sun dried tomato bagel it set me for the day, and the quinoa salad was perfect after a long drive and hike. I made it Vegan without the Feta cheese. Folk here are friendly. Great music. High vibe place.

Small local coffee shop that serves breakfast dishes all day and light lunch options. We had the bacon egg, and cheese bagel, gravy biscuit, and giant pretzels (for the picky little 😉). The bagel sandwich is impressively large and filling. They have a variety of custom drinks available but our person favorites were the iced mocha and iced vanilla latte. Black coffee was excellent as well. Great place for a quick bite. We enjoyed everything we had and went back a second day for breakfast and third day for coffee only.

Boxcar is an old-school eatery that resembles a 50s diner. The food is traditional cafe style of burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. We ordered a few different entrees that were quite good and flavorful. The staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations and customer service. The 50s diner theme was fun. Every aspect from decor to furniture all resembled that era.

First time visiting Bryson City on vacation and was looking for a good spot for lunch. Came across this diner and wanted to give it to try. The woman running the counter was friendly and the cook said hello as well. I thought the pricing for a burger, fries and a drink was very reasonable and it came out great. I needed a good cheat meal on vacation and that definitely happened here. They even asked if the food came out ok and of course I said yes. Boxcar cafe is located right by the depot and museum. We ordered lunch and our food came out in about 2 minutes. The problem with that is that it’s not at all freshly made. Burger was barely Luke warm, cheese and mushrooms were right from the fridge cold. The only thing that seemed freshly made were the fries. I wouldn’t recommend.
Charene R — Google review
This is a nice throwback restaurant with good food and great customer service! I had a BBQ pork wrap that was delicious! My husband had the fish and chips. The fries were so good but the fish was really greasy and not very tasty. The ice cream was also super delicious! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which was very accommodating and created a great atmosphere. We will definitely go back when we return to Bryson City in a few weeks.

Wonderful food! One of the best burger and dogs I have had and I consider myself an expert! Truly amazing short order grill food! Onion rings, cheese fries and that hamburger was so thick and huge I almost could not take a bite… We will be back every time we are in the area!

The Rice Wagon is a permanent food truck located behind the Mountain Layers Brewery in Bryson City. It offers Hawaiian BBQ and Asian Fusion cuisine, making it a unique addition to the area's dining scene. The food truck provides a small seating area, but customers can also take their meals to the open deck on the brewery's second floor for a better view. Every entree at The Rice Wagon comes with a serving of macaroni salad and white rice, adding to its appeal.
I was not expecting to find authentic Hawaiian flavors in the middle of the mountains, but The Rice Wagon absolutely exceeded my expectations. This permanent food truck, located right outside Mountain Layers Brewery, was busy for a reason. They serve up generous plates packed with flavor, from Loco Moco to Garlic Chicken, and everything I tried was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is fun, the food is fantastic, and the portions will definitely leave you satisfied. Whether you are looking for a great meal or just want to try something different, The Rice Wagon is a spot you do not want to miss.
Kierstyn M — Google review
I was wary about stopping at The Rice Wagon for a Sunday afternoon lunch because of reviews mentioning bad service, but we visited anyway after hiking the falls along Deep Creek. The guy taking our order was nice and answered hubby's question about most popular menu items. We got the garlic chicken, kalua pork and hurricane chicken. I subbed the macaroni salad for Asian slaw. The garlic chicken was very tasty and definitely garlicky. I didn't like that some of the chicken pieces were stringy. Hubby said the pork was moist and flavorful. We both agreed the hurricane chicken was by far the best, and wished we'd ordered some to go. The sides were good. We'd ordered our plates and headed to the upstairs bar in the brewery to grab a table and try some drinks, but there were tables open at the food truck. Hubby went back down to pick up our food when he buzzer went off.

The food was delicious! We came up from Walhalla, SC to ride the #GSMR and wanted something different for dinner before the long ride home. Love supporting FoodTrucks so we did a Google search and found “The Rice Wagon” My son had the KaluPork My wife got the Chicken Katsu I got the Yellowfin ahi tuna All of it was so tasty and we ate in the Mountain Layers Brewery great atmosphere upstairs. We will definitely be back to eat after our next trail ride 5⭐️for The Rice Wagon ❤️

My Husband and I ate here on our honeymoon to Bryson City! We got the combo plate and had the Garlic Chicken along with the Loco Moco! The combo came with both entrees, 2 scoops of rice and Macaroni Salad a ton of food for 2 people to share. The flavors of everything were phenomenal, and went so well together!! We will definitely be stopping in one more time before we go home! All in all we give them a 100/10!
Mandy B — Google review
This food truck is part of Mountain Layers brewery, so you can take your food inside to eat. They have a few outside tables if you don't want to go into the brewery. It was highly recommended by the staff at ML. We went for a late lunch and did not want a massive amount of food. Thank you for offering the mini plate which comes with your choice of protein, rice and Mac salad. Just enough food and we ordered 2 different things so we could try different items. We got the garlic chicken and chicken katsu, both were good. I liked the garlic chicken best. Great service, they give you a buzzer so you can go back to your friends and beer while waiting. My only thought is I'd rather not have 2 carbs for my sides, but the Mac salad was so good.
Jo N — Google review
I saw a snippet on this food truck on a YouTube video about Bryson City. We decided to give it a try because it got such good reviews. HOLY COW the Hurricane Chicken with Mac Salad and rice was HITTIN! The staff was super friendly and outgoing! If you are in the Bryson City area and want a quick bite or want to support the locals, check out the Rice Wagon! It’s behind the Mountain Layers Brewery.

Absolutely incredible gem tucked in the mountains. My partner and I shared combo plates to try 4 different meats and every single dish was delicious. A must stop if you’re in the area.
Ethan J — Google review
This place was FANTASTIC. They give you huge portion sizes and the food is amazing. I had their hurricane chicken - it was phenomenal. It comes with two servings of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. They give you a buzzer when you order your food so we went over to Mountain Layers Brewery until our food was ready . This food mixes perfectly with beer.

Mexican restaurant
Guayabitos Restaurant is a humble Mexican spot in Bryson City that offers familiar Mexican combos for dine-in or takeout, along with beer and margaritas. Despite its unassuming exterior, it's a personal favorite for many due to its fantastic food and excellent service. This restaurant has been a staple of the local food scene for over a decade, serving super authentic cuisine whether you're dining in or grabbing a meal to go.
We had to wait quiet some time and there were only a few tables in use. We waited over 15 minutes. The food was good, but not quiet as good at the one in Maggie Valley. The workers are not as friendly either. The atmosphere is totally different.
Penny R — Google review
I called yesterday and asked if they served tamales. I was told they had pork tamales, three for $10.00. I walked in and ordered take out. The man asked if I wanted beef and sauce on top of the tamales. I opted to have the sauce on the side. It was very tasty. The man who waited on me was friendly.
L C — Google review
The staff was very friendly but service was a little slow, getting water took maybe 10 minutes but we had chips and salsa after maybe 5. Once we got our food and drink orders in it was pretty quick but my wife did get her fajitas a few minutes before I got my food. I got the Guayabitos special and absolutely loved it. I loved getting to essentially sample pork, shredded and ground beef, and pulled chicken with all the typical Mexican toppings across 3 different dishes (tamale, taquitos, nachos). The portions were certainly plentiful as well, I was very satisfied with the visit.

Great local Mexican restaurant. Kind servers and great food. It was close to our Air BnB and thought we would try it. They worked around my dairy allergy and my husband and I had a good evening. A great place for a casual dinner with friends and/or family.

Food quality is a bit off from previous visit. Last visit was about 18 months back and the food was quite good. Plentiful chips and salsa. Grilled chicken was dry and too firm. Service and price were 4 star. Mostly local patrons. They have been in Bryson City over 20 years.

Ice cream shop
Soda Pop's Ice Cream Parlor is a nostalgic gem that takes you back to the 1940s and 50s with its retro decor, red-checkered floor, and classic candy selection. Their signature ice cream flavors are custom-blended with extra ingredients, offering a wide range of regular options and seasonal specials like pumpkin pie cheesecake and chocolate peppermint. This inviting diner also serves classic American fare such as burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, milkshakes, and floats.
Ice cream was great… although we did not have cash and the cash machine was not working. Thankfully we had a check book in our bag, otherwise I am not sure how we would have paid! We were told it was cash only after our children were hovering up their ice cream!! Which was a little stressful! Cute location, super fun. Don’t forget your cash!!

Located conveniently on Everett Street, close to the Smoky Mountain Railroad. It tries to evoke a bit of nostalgia, the ice cream parlor of yesteryear. It's small with a couple tables inside. We enjoyed a Mayfield brand sundae and it was pretty good. The employees were friendly keeping a good flow in this busy location. Worth a stop for a sundae or just a cone.

Restaurant
Bar-B-Que Wagon in Bryson City is a down-home spot that serves classic American dishes and mouthwatering barbecue. The aroma of smoked-pit BBQ will captivate you as soon as you arrive. The menu features hickory smoked pulled pork, turkey, and chicken, along with delicious sides like mac n cheese, fried okra, and slaw. This rustic joint has a cozy country cabin ambiance with wooden decor throughout.
We are staying in the area riding motorcycles and stopped in today. We had a great experience. Food was great. Not one complaint! We had catfish dinner and country fried steak dinner. Don't pass this one up!
Lisa T — Google review
The food was average, but the prices were rather high. There are no prices on the internet or in the establishment that show prices for drinks. We got a basket and platter that was a total of $24.79, but we ordered two drinks and our total ticket was $37.90. There is no breakdown on receipt that shows what you are paying for each item. and they only accept cash. Ask prices before you order.
Dale F — Google review
The food was excellent. I had the ribs, brisket, potato salad, coleslaw, Hush Puppies, fry bread and sweet tea. I got the meal to share with my dog because we're traveling in my van. My dog loves ribs and the meat on these ribs fell off bone with no effort. I didn't have to pull them apart it... was amazing ....but we both loved the brisket. We fought over the last piece. And my dog is the real food snob here he's really picky about his barbecue...I love the spices they use. .. I can't put my finger on it but it has a unique taste!!! Normally, I go for the mustard based sauce but I actually liked The Vinegar Sauce better,. I also normally like my potato salad with a little more mustard but their's had enough pickle in it to balance out that Bland mayo flavor, most potato salads have....iit was so good, it was comparable to my mother's and nobody can top her potato salad but out of everything the fry bread was my favorite and the only reason it didn't give it all stars is because it was pricey for the serving size.. I think we can blame that on the economy and not the actual restaurant but that's the only complaint I have... otherwise this is one of the best barbecue spots I have ever been to. I sat at the picnic bench in the parking lot and watched kayakers below, it was in the shade and surprisingly not a lot of bugs. I also want to mention that the service was impeccable and the food was ready really fast . I was very impressed and I definitely will be going back.

We ordered the Pork BBQ Sandwich topped with coleslaw and the 1/2 Chicken Plate with Baked Beans and French Fries. All of it was very good. They have indoor dining, but we chose to eat outside under one of the pavilions by the Tuckaseigee River. It was very nice out there. Oh, I almost forgot. They only accept cash, but there is an ATM machine in the ordering area.

Nice rustic BBQ restaurant. Friendly and helpful crew. Restaurant is clean and sanitized regularly by staff. The BBQ sandwiches are huge and delicious and the cole slaw is so very good. I had the combo and its really enough food for two people. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is top notch. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. This restaurant is located next to the river and there is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal and take in the scenery. I left full and very satisfied.

Nestled in the charming town of Bryson City, SNAK SHAK is a delightful gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience despite its cozy size. Formerly known as Lorettas Snak Shak, this family-owned eatery is conveniently located next to the nostalgic Soda Pops Ice Cream shop and offers a diverse menu featuring mouthwatering burgers, jumbo wings, and house-made sauces.

Friendly staff. Excellent sweet tea. Had chicken fingers, double cheeseburger, club sandwich( could only eat the 1/2). Tater tots were nice and crispy. Everything is sooo good! Wish I had room to try a dessert.
Bridget L — Google review
Let me start by saying this place is a hidden gem in the middle of the strip, best tuna melt and taters tots we ever had, no joke, portions are huge, my wife, adult daughter and my self got full sharing two orders of these sandwiches, they are made with love, the bread was toasted to perfection to be crunchy enough, soft and easy to eat. Food was delicious, tots were perfect, and prices are very affordable, below average for this area. If I come back to Bryson City for sure will visit them again, they are so friendly and service is fast and enjoyable, make sure to sit on the table at the sidewalk, so you can enjoy a great meal by doing some people watching at the same time! Thank you guys for such an enjoyable culinary experience!.
CHAFIC G — Google review
This place was so surprisingly delicious. The best cooked tater tots I've ever had, crispy to perfection. The hamburger was so good and soft and even the vegetarian burger my daughter got was not dry, but very flavorful. All the major restaurants were crowded so we took a gamble on this little place and it paid off! We'll be back!
Britton G — Google review
I was, sadly, disappointed by this meal. Burger was dry and not flavorful at all, and the cheese wasn't even melted. Hard to mess up tater tots, so those were good, at least. The service was great. Limited seating inside, as it is a small spot. Definitely have so improvements to make on the food, in my opinion.
Camerons C — Google review
Stopped by Snak Shak for a quick lunch while in town and wasn't disappointed! Although the staff seemed a tad overwhelmed, they were genuinely sweet and made sure our order was spot on. To give them credit, they were grappling with some AC issues at the moment, but it didn't impact our experience in the least. The Club and BLT Sandwiches were scrumptious. I would wholeheartedly recommend Snak Shak for anyone seeking a delightful quick lunch.

Bryson City Brewing, located in downtown Bryson City, draws inspiration from its natural surroundings to create a laid-back and spacious brewery. Situated near the Smoky Mountains, this spot offers convenient access to outdoor activities like rafting, climbing, hiking, and camping. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as Nantahala National Forest and Cherokee.
We were in town with our large van that has our kayaks. We had no trouble parking it in their large lot. We sat at the bar. The bar fills up quickly on the weekends. Our server Tabitha was friendly and helpful. For a busy Saturday we did not wait long for our food. I got the house salad topped with grilled chicken and ranch dressing. It was awesome. We ordered 1 side of tater tots to split. We were amazed how large this side is. Took most of them back to our yurt. Tabitha lets you sample their beer before getting it. I had the Czech Pilsner and the Fireside Porter. The porter was very good. What amazed me most was we arrived peak tourist season on a Saturday and got our food without a long wait.

Great environment. Lots of local brews to pick from. Kid and pet friendly. Great concept of farm to table. Food quality was good. Preparation/cooking is where this place lacked on being impressive. Burger was way over cooked and dry. Tortilla chips were stale. Pork was cooked a day or more before I ordered it.

My family visits the Nantahala/Bryson City area every year, and this time we stopped by Bryson City Brewery — it was one of the highlights of our trip! We came from Pennsylvania with our two small kids, and everyone had such a great time. From the moment we arrived, Mona, the hostess, made us feel so welcome and helped us get settled right away. And even though Natalia wasn’t our server, she went out of her way to help us reserve one of the fire pits for our family. It made the evening feel extra special — we enjoyed delicious food, great drinks, and a cozy fire that our kids absolutely loved sitting by. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was fun and family-friendly. We really appreciated how attentive and kind everyone was. Big thanks to Natalia, Mona, and the entire Bryson City Brewery team for making our visit so memorable. We’ll definitely be back next year!

My family and I vacation a couple of times a year in the Nantahala area, and we always make it a point to visit Bryson City Brewery. We first dined here two years ago and had such a wonderful experience — the food was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our server at the time, Natalia, made such a great impression that we’ve asked for her every visit since! We stopped by a few times this past week, and once again, Natalia went above and beyond. She helped us reserve a fire pit for a special family moment, making sure everything was perfect. We enjoyed amazing food, great drinks, live music, and created memories we’ll never forget. A big thank you to Natalia and the entire Bryson City Brewery team for consistently providing warm hospitality and exceptional service. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by — you won’t regret it!

We had a great experience here while on our family vacation. Mona sat us inside but still where we could hear the live music. I was super impressed that the band was playing considering the downpour of rain. The music was great! Rebecca was the most amazing server. Great drinks, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. It’s a great laid back atmosphere and a place you can take the whole family. Definitely give it a try! Be sure and order the chicken nachos and egg rolls!

I came here with my family while visiting Bryson City Brewery, and it was such a cool experience! The fire pit was awesome — it made the night feel super cozy, and the music was great too. I got a burger, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The wait staff was really friendly, and Natalia gave us some great recommendations that totally made our night even better. If you’re in the Bryson City or Nantahala area, you’ve got to check this place out. Great food, great vibe, and an overall amazing time. I definitely want to come back!

★★★★★ Bryson City Outdoors – Great Beer, Great Atmosphere This place is a total vibe. Bryson City Outdoors has one of the best craft beer selections in the area—local favorites, regional gems, and always something new on tap. Whether you’re into IPAs, lagers, sours, or something seasonal, there’s a pour for every palate. The atmosphere is what really makes it stand out. Super chill, welcoming, and full of that mountain-town energy. The outdoor patio is perfect—plenty of space, great music, and usually a mix of locals and visitors just enjoying the day. It’s the kind of place where you want to stay for a second round. Or third. Great beer. Great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Derailed of Bryson City (Anthonys) is a family-friendly restaurant that serves American and Italian comfort food. They have zucchini fries as an amazing dish to try, and the brisket sandwich was delicious. The service was quick and prompt, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is very cozy and clean, with signs letting customers know the expectations. It is a must-see in Bryson City!
We ate here last weekend, and had a good meal. We shared garlic knots and wings. The knots are nearly bite sized - I’ve never seen that before. We shared meaty pizza which was good - tons and tons cheese, which I thought was great! I had a dark beer - that I thought was very good.
Jamie W — Google review
The atmosphere and service were pretty good and above average, nothing exceptional. The food was incredibly disappointing. The wings were soggy/not crispy (though the sauce was good). The pizza was advertised as having chicken/tomatoes on the one and the other was advertised as a Philly cheese steak pizza with steak, peppers, onions. Both pizzas were extremely greasy and completely lacking toppings. They were just more expensive cheese pizzas. Not worth it

This is our third visit to Anthony's and we've always been pleases. The food is good, the server was very good and attentive. The problem is a bogus surcharge for credit card when none was used. The young hostess shrugged her shoulders when asked about this. Receipt (pictured) indicates a discount applied for cash. When change was returned the CC fee was not refunded. In fact, even the change provided was not correct. Often when an invoice is a few pennies over a round dollar the establishment rounds back which is their choice. The returned small change was not provided as they rounded up charging me more, that was not MY choice. Typically, I'm a extremely generous tipper. Not today, this event leaves a sour taste following an otherwise good meal. Food here is recommended but watch the invoice!!! Sorry we won't be back.

Stopped for a quick lunch before the train ride. We ate light and decided on the Meatsy pizza. Awesome!! So, so good.

We visited Anthony’s Derailed in Bryson City and had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered two slices of cheese pizza for our toddlers, a calzone, a cheeseburger, and one alcoholic drink. We specifically asked for the kids' food to come out first — anyone with toddlers understands why. After getting our drinks, we waited 20–30 minutes with no food and no updates. When food finally started arriving, only my cheeseburger came out — nothing for the kids, nothing for my partner, and still no alcoholic beverage. Eating alone while our toddlers sat hungry was incredibly uncomfortable. The server repeatedly placed hot food and plates directly in front of our toddler in a high chair, despite her grabbing at everything. No awareness or communication whatsoever. Meanwhile, we watched multiple pizzas going to other tables. The burger was overcooked, fries cold and unpleasant, and I barely ate half while waiting on the rest of the food that never came. Our toddlers understandably began melting down from sitting so long with no food. We had to flag the server down from across the room to ask where the drink was and request a box — only then did she say the drink was “on the house,” and it arrived even later. When we asked for the check and a box, the server rolled her eyes, tossed the box on our table, and walked away. We asked to speak to a manager, and the eye-rolling continued. The manager came over and instead of addressing the problem, asked if we had been drinking, which felt accusatory and dismissive. The situation escalated because the service and attitude were completely unacceptable, especially toward a family just trying to eat with toddlers. We left frustrated, with barely any food eaten, after what should’ve been a simple meal. Cold food, slow service, ignored requests, and rude staff. We will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant to families or anyone expecting basic service and professionalism.

The Dining Room at The Fryemont Inn is a historic and charming spot in Bryson City, offering country-style accommodations and hearty meals. Whether you're a guest or just stopping by for a meal, the dining room provides a cozy setting with a nice selection of breakfast options and hearty dinners. Meals include soup, salad, and entrees featuring locally caught trout or expertly prepared meats.
Oh my! The Dining Room at Fryemont Inn is a truly delicious experience! The historic inn is nestled in the mountains in Bryson City, North Carolina, just a little over 100 years old. This inn, including the gorgeous 1920’s vaulted ceiling great room, is constructed from the now rare American Chestnut, which is aromatic in a way that enhances the dining experience. First, we were warmly greeted and promptly aware despite not having made a reservation. Our server, Josh, was great! I couldn’t decide on my entree, so he went ahead and started us with drinks and the soup course that comes with every full meal. The soup was an innovative BLT soup, with all of the flavors and textures of a bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich in a creamy base. It was so good, I could have had only the soup and been content! Next, Josh brought out crisp mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, croutons, and red onion with choice of house made dressing. My husband and I both had the blue cheese dressing, which was fantastic! I can’t vouch for the honey mustard or ranch dressings, but I bet they are equally as good. I decided on the special of the night, Trout Florentine. The chef at the Fryemont gets the fresh trout daily! This particular preparation featured a roasted tomato and creamy spinach sauce over a perfectly cooked delicately flavored flaky trout filet. My husband had the buttery medium rare Prime Rib with horseradish, which was apparently so delicious that he did not offer me a bite! The three family-style vegetables of the day were Parmesan roasted red potatoes, a tomato bake, and broccoli with cheese sauce. All were excellent! For dessert, my husband had the homemade peach cobbler with ice cream, which I was too slow to get a photo of, since he wolfed it down as though he hadn’t already eaten soup, salad, prime rib, and three delicious sides. I held back and got my dessert-a blueberry sour cream pound cake with citrus glaze-to go. We will definitely be back!

The food was pretty good, but they have some maintenance issues. The salt and pepper shakers were rusty and the hallway walking to the restaurant leans badly. I understand that it is old, and I really appreciate that, but having a level floor would be nice. Service was fine but the kitchen is slow. If you stay at the Inn, dinner and breakfast is included.

The atmosphere is so much like what you’d expect from older movies! The entire place seems to be like it was 100 years ago….but so clean and beautiful. The food was amazingly tasty. I had ginger peach trout and my husband had the prime rib which was cooked to perfection. The sides were mushroom casserole and almond green beans. You do not pick your sides, it’s what is served for that mealtime but let me say they were grand!!! And you can get refills on the sides…just saying. Wait staff was great as was the hostess and bartender that presented us with our anniversary Biltmore Brut.

We celebrated my hubby’s Birthday last night while visiting from Raleigh. We were FLOORED with how good it was!!! We had the caprice, risotto, and mountain trout. Delicious!! The chocolate desert was the best desert we’ve ever had along with Sullivan’s Steakhouse’s bananas foster in Raleigh. Great service and the hotel’s ambience was so historical. Loved it!!

This is an interesting experience to say the least. They have been open since 1923 and it sure feels like they have been open since then. If you were big into the Ambiance of a place then you should definitely come here. I think that there is a lot to offer with this place. The food was good and it was reasonably priced for how much food you get. If we're going to be honest I was not a big fan of having the family style of side dishes, as I could have been content with my own. We are currently visiting cherokee, and this has been the best gluten-free dining experience that I have had so far. If I could not eat something the restaurant was more than accommodating to adapt to that. They ensured that if I needed a substitution they could find one. The menu is large and extensive. They have a nice wine list too.

The food was good . The best was the soup. Everyone was nice. Sarge in the bar was making Everyone laugh. Our waitress was the sweetest. This place is 100 years old and it felt inviting. They gave you just the right portion size of everything. Everyone was nice that we talked to there even at the front desk when we made our reservations . We knew nothing of this place till we talked to a local shop owner and im glad we did.

Naber's Drive In is a nostalgic and rustic cash-only restaurant that has never been renovated, giving it a classic hole-in-the-wall charm. Despite its vintage appearance, the kitchen is clean, the staff are friendly and wear gloves while preparing food. The place holds sentimental value for many customers and offers prompt service with delicious food. The drive-in provides a beautiful view of the river while you enjoy your meal.
Cool nostagic drive in. Chuckwagon burger was amazing. Onion rings were good. But the sundaes were huge. When I saw $1.85 I thought of a tiny one scoop sundae...these were much bigger than that! Super friendly and the wait time was good. Add the beautiful view, and it is so worth the stop!

Nice retro restaurant. Food was fresh & cheap. It took a bit of time to get service, send me there was only 1 server. Dining in isn't possible right now because of covid & the restrooms are only for employees. The restaurant is next to the river so there's a view while you eat.
Lisa M — Google review
First things first, this place is CASH ONLY! No debit or credit cards of any kind. I did see an ATM inside but not sure if it works 🤷‍♂️, fortunately I do still carry cash. This place is very nostalgic and rustic, unfortunately it’s not because they were going for the look. It’s because it’s never been renovated 😂. However the kitchen is clean, the food preparers wear gloves, and are very friendly. It’s a classic “hole in the wall restaurant “ a diamond in the rough if you will. The prices are good and the food is even better! You can eat inside or at the drive in stations. The view of the river is very nice. All in all I would definitely recommend this place, however the issues that prevented it from receiving a 5 star status was the cash only requirement and the fact that it does appear a bit run down. Eye appeal is buy appeal, not sure why some people don’t get that. But I would definitely return, the food was tasty. And it had a nice atmosphere. 🤙

La Poblana is a Mexican restaurant located near Bryson City, NC, offering an extensive menu that competes with favorite Mexican restaurants in Georgia. Situated by the Tuckasegee River, it features a covered patio, drive-thru, and full bar. The small dining space provides takeout options and outdoor seating. Despite occasional crowding due to its popularity, the riverside dining experience makes it worth a visit when in Cherokee or Bryson City.
This place has authentic Mexican food!! I had the steak burrito and the steak was seasoned very well, tasted grilled. Also got the beans with nacho cheese, man that queso and the flavor of the beans were on point. The atmosphere was great and apparently the patrons loved the food as well. The seats in the restaurant filled up quickly

HOMEMADE TORTILLAS THAT ARE TO DIE FOR! Excellent food, and fast service. We ate here while on vacation, and came back twice! We really enjoyed the food. We also tried their frozen margaritas which were delicious. If you are looking for a good spot after a long hike I recommend trying La Poblana!

This place was busy, and the food was brought to us in a nice presentation. The view behind was nice to enjoy while eating.
Paivi P — Google review
The wait staff was so slow (not busy either) we didn't have the same waiter once. We had to put in our order with 3 different waiters before getting our food. The food was less that average. I couldn't even eat mine. My husband and mothers was some better than mine but not by much. Prices was good though I have to give them that. But you definitely get what you pay for. (Not in a good way either). By the end of it we all have food poison. I Definitely DONT recommend.
Sheena C — Google review
The servers are not friendly and are rude. I seen a margarita frozen machine and I pointed at it and I said I’d like one of those. The server brought me a margarita on ice. I said that’s not what I wanted and I was being very nice and told him I was sorry but I was wanting the frozen one. Well, after that, his mood just went all the hell. I can’t remember the name of my plate, but it had the shrimp chicken in the steak with mushrooms and onions and it was awful! I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that served chicken like that or beef. Both were in one piece, thin and hard as hell to cut into little pieces. I was about halfway through the margarita and it hit me why my drinking this? It was too sweet and not very good and no tequila. Normally, I tip even when I’m not totally happy. But the way all the servers were acting towards me and they had to ask for everything from napkins to my silverware, the hell with it. I didn’t leave them a dime.

Wow! We are faithful patrons of Guayabitos and thought this was THE Mexican spot in Bryson City, BUT La Poblana just stole the #1 spot. Great service to begin with. Very friendly and accommodating staff. More importantly though, FOOD IS OFF THE CHAIN! Super delicious and authentic. Did not have to wait too long for it either. Soup, tacos, El Molcajete everything was top notch.

Neat little Mexican Restaurant. We stopped for dinner and got cheese dip and a chicken and steak fajita for two. Our meal was delicious; the atmosphere and decorations were nice; and would recommend you check it out.
Kathy B — Google review
We are used to visiting mexican restaurants but this has been our worst experience with one. My wife ordered mixed fajitas with flour tortillas, she had to tell the waitress twice because she repeated "corn tortillas?" When the order came, corn tortillas! We overheard another customer repeating her order to the same waitress. The meat was flavorless! As if they took it from the fridge directly to the grill.

Bojangles, a fast-food chain with a Southern-inspired menu, is well-known for its delicious fried chicken and biscuits, alongside their signature sides. This particular location in Bryson City receives frequent visits from the writer, who appreciates the friendly and attentive staff that ensures accurate orders. The food is consistently excellent, and even during busy times at the drive-through, there is no significant waiting time.
The service was quick and our food came out fresh. The servers were also very kind.
Noah D — Google review
First time in a Bojangles and I didn't enjoy it here Had some chicken "supreme" sticks as a meal. The chicken strips were okay but a little cold The fries tasted like the potatoes they were made from had undergone starch retrogradation, where the amylose molecules had started to realign, giving the fries a crystalline texture-yuck My wife had some sort of chicken in a bun. She asked for no pickles but got pickles and felt bad the rest of the evening and the whole of the next day. Her breath also smells of corpses I won't be going back to Bojangles

The food was way spicier than I thought it would but it was good quality food. The folks were very kind. Want to try their breakfast. Been told its good.

The whole place was so dirty... the tables, the bathroom, the windows. Dead bugs in the window sills would have been a bigger issue if there hadn't been a live one crawling on the table. The food was mediocre at best. The only drinks they had were water, milk and tea. Definitely do not recommend

If you want to eat here prepare yourself to wait. Took 10- 15 minutes to take our order it seems they can only do one order at a time. Also one of the employees had enough time to come out and hug her boyfriend instead of take our order and the group of 4 that walked in after us. Every time I tried to eat at a Bojangles customers are not priority to them.

Iron Wok is a spacious and charming restaurant in downtown Bryson City, offering a variety of Pan-Asian cuisine from China, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The recently renovated establishment prides itself on serving fresh-made dishes without MSG and provides gluten-free options. Customers can enjoy an easygoing ambiance with brightly colored walls and traditional artwork while savoring their extensive menu.
As a lover of traditional Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend Iron Wok Chinese Restaurant. They offer a wide variety of dishes that are not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying. I visited Iron Wok on my birthday while at Harrah's Casino. Many of the restaurants at the casino were fully booked, so my daughter discovered this hidden gem—and I'm so glad she did! First, the hot and sour soup and wonton soup were outstanding. From the moment I saw the outside of the restaurant, I knew I was in for a great meal. The portions were generous, easily enough for two people, and the service was exceptional—attentive and friendly. The dishes at Iron Wok stay true to traditional Chinese flavors, and the presentation was beautiful. Plus, the prices were very reasonable. If you're in the Bryson City, North Carolina area, I highly recommend this place. You’ll leave satisfied, guaranteed!

Nice vibe with polite and attentive staff. The portion sizes were large and satisfying. The Orange Chicken was super sweet; the orange flavoring almost cloying and, sadly, not the least bit spicy. This place has potential, but you should try something other than the Orange Chicken. Some of the other items on the menu look terrific.

Honey Bear's Cupcakery & More is a charming bakery in Bryson City, run by Kim and Jeff Johner who used to work in healthcare before opening the bakery in 2022. The place offers a delightful selection of cupcakes, donuts, and coffee. Customers rave about the red velvet coffee and describe the cupcakes as moist with generous and delicious icing. The owners are known for their exceptional customer service, even offering to make specific cupcakes if they're not available at the moment.
After a long day of outdoor fun and tubing we needed a pick me up for trip home and this place came highly recommended by a local. The brewed coffee was smooth and robust in flavor. Wide variety of sweets but we opted for half a dozen cupcakes, so many interesting fantastic flavors! The lemon was so smooth and tart with an additional zing of lemon curd inside the cupcake. The naner pudding was super tasty, my husband had a some chocolate and liked them very much. Cupcakes are visually appealing with a generous amount of smooth and creamy frosting and moist cake portion. Will stop here anytime we are in Bryson City. Grace , the young lady that served us was a delight.

Let's talk apple fritters. We were waiting a table at Everett diner next door. We went next door to honey bear got some coffee and apple fritters. The fritter was gigantic, can easily feed 3. It's nice that the glaze isn't overwhelming, it's just right. The breading itself is not too sweet, the apples were caramelized before it was fried. It was not slapped together like some I've had. It was purposefully made. It was not overly sweet, good chewy texture, with a hint of sweetness, it was heavenly. The coffee is excellent, it's nice that it's from a local roaster. The coffee is fresh, not some watered down swill. I will be back next time I'm in town

This is now one of my favorite businesses in town. Really fun atmosphere, always cool in the summer and toasty in the winter, the staff was so friendly to me and all my kids. I came here with my mom, with my sister, with some out-of-town friends, and with my whole family, and every experience was fun and comfortable with plenty of seating, even during peak tourism season. The menu is vast, with a little bit of something for everyone. My friends got coffee (one hot, one iced) and said it was excellent, my kids and I got ice cream (TRY THE PURPLE DAZE FLAVOR!!) which was also excellent, and I’ve had friends who have tried their baked goods and loved them as well. I also appreciate that they have clean bathrooms and free water! I only wish this place existed when I was growing up in Bryson City! <3

It was the end of the day after walking around Bryson. Me and 3 kids (ages 10-16) decided on ice cream and coffee. I googled this store and it was 30 minutes to closing. I was very polite and asked if they were still making certain things, since it was the end of the day. Kids decided on ice cream and I got a Caramel crave coffee. The girl serving the ice cream was the nicest. The cashier seemed annoyed and distracted. She stayed on her phone the entire time and even forgot my coffee after charging me a WHOPPING $26 for 2 SMALL ice cream cups, 1 cone, and my large coffee. It said $3.99 for small cups, and $2.99 for a cone... that makes my coffee somewhere near $12 before tax? Then I waited politely as she forgot my coffee and went back to her cell phone. There was no one in there but an obvious regular who has no coffee or food. The ice cream was good according to my kids, but my coffee was sweeter than necessary and didn't taste like coffee. Will try again, as we are in Bryson city a lot. The place was really clean and cute, but the coffee is way over priced.

The packaging for the cupcakes is absolutely horrible. The cupcakes were good, accept for the fact that the cupcake holders were so shallow that all of the cupcakes fell all over the place in the box as we went up the windy roads and got totally ruined which was extremely upsetting especially because for six cupcake and two large teas I was paying over 40 bucks. Every single cupcake fell out of its holder despite the box staying in the same place in the car. Kind of ruined my day.

All the dishes we tried were made with super fresh ingredients, and the quality truly shines through. The portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave feeling completely satisfied. Excellent food and a great environment. The steak had a little gristle otherwise my food was awesome. Outdoors by the water is a wonderful way to spend lunch or dinner. The margaritas and size choices are good too. The mix they make is delicious, not too sweet or sour for the Texas on the rocks.

Eating here was a delightful experience! We were ushered to a table right away, drinks were offered and chips and salsa appeared in front of us. The menu is extensive, covering many familiar Mexican favorites, along with non-traditional fare, like chicken egg rolls. I was thrilled to see a spinach salad offered, with grilled chicken, grilled cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, and summer squash, topped with black beans. I asked them to add another topping, a sliced avocado, which was totally worth the $1.75 additional charge! A vegetarian could die happy with this salad, just by asking for it without the chicken. My husband enjoyed his taco salad, as well. They offer a variety of frescas, beers, and mixed drinks, along with tea and soda. We saw desserts that looked really good —that cheesecake, wow!— but the salads were so filling that we had to stop there. Totally recommend, would go back again and again!

Look no further - this is where you should eat! The food is delicious and comes out looking exactly like the pictures on the menu! We got vegetarian stuffed peppers and vegetarian fajitas. I’ve eaten at many Mexican restaurants and this one is in my top two of all time. We’ve eaten here for our Bryson City trip 3 years straight and it never slips up. The food is always fresh tasting and seasoned perfect. I branched away from my usual fajita burrito and tried diabla tacos from the grill today.. they raised my standard even more bc the corn shell of each taco was doubled so they didn’t fall apart and ofc the flavor was perfect! Servers have always been great as well!

Not to mention the fact that this place is SO reasonably priced for serving size and deliciousness. Definitely hope to return!

Despite how busy this shop was, the service was solid. I was in town as part of my quest to visit all 100 counties in NC. After a browse in downtown, this was a much needed break. My iced London fog latte was a little on the sweet side but well made. I had the cookies later and WOW were they good, even a day later. The bakewell tart? Not quite as impressed, especially for the price and serving size. Seemed a bit bland. Lots of nice seating throughout and fun shopping. Definitely a nice vibe if you are in the area.

Their bread & pastries were amazing! After a long trip, we were exhausted and hungry, but this shop lightened up our energy again! It was cozy and nice vibes inside out of the shop. They also have a wide variety of Bryson City souvenirs and goods. It's worth to stop by this place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and just for shopping as well.

Three little letters… O-M-G!! This place gets 10 stars if I could give it. The atmosphere is so welcoming you don’t want to leave. The smells from the baking… oh my gosh the wonderful smells. The selection of handcrafted delights, both known & creative, are offered in super sized portions perfect for sharing. To top off the whole experience, the staff are SOOOOO friendly, welcoming, & helpful! In store seating both indoor & outdoor patio available as well.

Great vibe. Great bacon egg and cheese croissant. And it was huge. We both had some of the best craft coffee here. I had the pumpkin spice. Ask for it extra hot. Prices were better than most places. Staff is friendly. We are happy to run across places like this when we travel.

Absolutely incredible baked goods. Spent two nights camping at Deep Creek, and did breakfast at Bryson bakery both mornings. Great cozy atmosphere, good coffee, and a selection of baked goods that makes me incredibly sad that I couldn’t try all of them. Probably the best biscuit sandwich I’ve ever had, and the croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery.
Hunter H — Google review
Food is amazing!! The lattes are soooo good too. We’re using them for breakfast for our wedding in a few weeks. Super excited for that as well!! Blueberry lemon croissant was delicious as was the bacon quiche. Highly recommend for breakfast!
Sadie P — Google review
This place is AMAZING! From the moment you walk in, there’s a buzz that tells you—you’re in for something special. You can feel it in the air. There’s a line to order, which honestly just adds to the excitement. While you wait, you’re drawn to the glass case of baked goods like a moth to a flame. And once you see what’s inside? It’s over. Your eyes go wide like saucers. Every pastry, every cookie, every loaf looks like it was made just for you. Each one more tempting than the last. You’ll want to order five. Maybe six. And then there are the drinks. Whether you’re a coffee lover or more of a tea person, they’ve got a lineup that’s thoughtful and fun. Classic options, creative twists, and a whole range of alternative milk choices for those who need them. Every drink feels like it’s made with care, not just tossed together. Mine was smooth, perfectly balanced, and honestly—just what I needed. The space itself adds to the charm. It’s cozy without feeling cramped. Warm wood, friendly faces, and the smell of fresh-baked bread and espresso—it wraps around you like a hug. Staff is cheerful and attentive, even with a crowd. You feel welcomed, not rushed. It’s the kind of place you wish you lived next to. The kind of spot you’ll think about later and smile. Whether you’re grabbing a box of goodies to go or lingering over a warm drink and a scone, you’re going to leave happy. Probably already planning your return. Bryson Bakery nails it. A true gem tucked in the mountains. Don’t miss it.

Pizza Takeout
Pizza Hut is a well-known chain that offers delivery, carry-out, and dine-in options for pizza, wings, pasta, sides, and desserts. Customers have praised the nostalgic ambiance of some locations with old-school windows and interior decor. Despite its unassuming exterior, the inside is often nicely decorated. The staff is described as friendly and helpful while the food receives high praise. Some customers appreciate the convenience of ordering through the app for quick pickup and note improvements under new management.
Great to find a Pizza Hut Classic! It took me back to my childhood to see the old school windows and interior decor. This place is a little ways from the center of town, but worth the drive. Stopped for dinner.. fast, friendly service. Pizza was ready in no time. Had two different staff members double check to make sure all was good. The place was non stop taking orders to go as well. Wish they had one of these where I live.
Les F — Google review
I truly love this restaurant. As a member of Generation X, I truly appreciate the classic Pizza Hut atmosphere. The menu is a bit updated, but many classic items are still available. The restaurant was clean and there was plenty of seating on a Sunday afternoon. The service was a bit slow, apparently due to understaffing. When ordering, our first two requests were not available that day. Then when the pizza came, it wasn’t what we ordered. We were not offered any discount or a re-make, but we were there to enjoy ourselves after an afternoon on the lake, not to complain and wait another half-hour to eat, so we enjoyed what was brought to us.
LR P — Google review
The restaurant was very clean, including the women’s bathroom. Service was a bit slow due to one waitress. Food was delicious! The salad bar was open and everything seemed fresh! Will go back!
C D — Google review
Went to visit the closest Pizza Hut Classic near me. The food was like any other pizza hut, satisfying. They did have a larger menu with items I can't get at my hometown Pizza Hut. You can sit down and dine, and they have beer. But to be honest, I didn't go for the food. I went to go back in time to the 80s/90s. I was not disappointed! This one still looks original and service was excellent. I'll never forget our waitress, she was great!
Jess D — Google review
Been twice, because I feel every establishment deserves a second chance. First time, they got order wrong. Second time, got the order wrong. So idk if it's because the waitress doesn't actually write down the order or it's the communication between the floor and the kitchen. And as far as the toppings? It looks like there still suffering from the pandemic. But fortunately i remember how a super supreme looked before nuclear inflation hit! The thing had 3 pieces of green bell peppers on it. Love the old nostalgia building tho.
Bocephus T — Google review
Went in to eat and waited, waitress was at another table where customers were eating, they pointed out we were waiting to be seated. She looked at us and turned her back on us and continued as talking as if we weren’t there. This really pissed me off as there were 2 other employees (l think 1 was the manager wearing glasses maybe not) standing at register. The other waitress was assisting someone at counter. We turned to leave and not once did any employee say “Can l help you”? Pretty damn sad as there were only 6 people inside eating and 4 of those were at same table
SUSAN F — Google review
Pizza was great. The tea i ordered was like pure water. I told them I did not want it, the did take it off. But didnt offer to make any more tea. Which is why I gave them 2 stars on service and atmosphere. They were trying to play the blame game on who made the tea last, which was such a waste of time. Just go back and make some damn tea and make the customer happy.

This was on July 4th. We placed an order in plenty of time, but the traffic exiting and street closures required that we take a detour completely around town. We began calling the restaurant at 10:45 pm to alert them that we were held up but on the way. Multiple calls received no answer although they didn't close until 11 pm. We arrived after the detour at 11:03 pm. Knocking brought the manager to the door who informed us that he didn't care about traffic, he closes at 11 pm. He continued to be very rude but sold us our pizza in the end to avoid the loss. Nice decor and good pizza, but we won't go back until they change managers.

Exceptional service from the manager. The food was hot, delicious and exactly what we ordered. The restrooms were clean and the seating are as well. The drink area was clean and stocked. Great experience!

I understand there weren't many employees. I don't mind waiting. Though half my order was missing. One gentleman was very understanding and fixed it. Another gentleman threw some sauce my way and looked at me up and down to pick it up off the floor. That's fine! I understand they are frustrated. As soon as I get home I feel my bread is hard and cold. The cheese is not even melted and then I see green fuzzy spots. I'm done with Arby's that's just disgusting. I tried calling to warn them. The lines are busy. I just don't know what to think.
Camelia P — Google review
First time visiting this chain. Food was served quickly, it was not busy and food was ok. Would visit again but there are other places I would probably choose first
Scott W — Google review
Let me start out saying, I don’t like to write negative reviews. This restaurant has been a disappointment time after time. I have gone back in the past thinking, maybe it was a fluke and it would be better the next time. We went there last night a little before 9pm and tried to place an order. We tried to order three different items and were told they were out of that. We settled on two Chicken Ranch Sandwiches and a drink. We brought it home, and to our dismay, our chicken sandwiches had chicken nuggets on them. It’s ridiculous! We won’t go back.
L C — Google review
Man it's been months and months of crappy service, rude employees, and understaffing. No answer at the drive through, always understaffed, and even when they have a decent sized crew, the guys that work there are so rude for no reason. Pay your people better or something. Whoever runs this place does a terrible job.
Soap S — Google review
So. I hadn’t been to an Arby’s in ten years. Today, I decided to try the one in Bryson City. Mistake. I waited about five minutes in the drive thru…and my food was ice cold. I ordered a beef and cheddar without ranch sauce and curly fries. The meat and bun were ice cold, there was a tiny glob of cheddar. The fries were cold and like they’d been sitting for hours. It was 11am. I won’t be visiting Arby’s again. It’s a shame, because their beef and cheddar used to be THE best. The lady working the drive thru was nice. She didn’t put any napkins in the bag (didn’t matter, I threw the food away anyway after three bites).
Cynthia A — Google review
Ordered a half pound beef and cheddar. When I got it, it has no cheese. The guy behind the counter was stuck on fries and couldn't remember large if you said that before answering what kind of fries you wanted. Got it to go and the guy said Well i need your name kinda pissy. When we got it, it wasn't bagged we said that's to go he sat a bag on the counter and walked off. We had to bag our own food.

For the price we paid it would be nice for them to get our order right

McDonald's is a timeless fast-food institution celebrated for its iconic burgers and crispy fries. During my visit, I noticed the drive-thru line snaking around the building, prompting me to head inside instead. Surprisingly, the dining area was quite empty, making it easy to place my order without any hassle. It's always interesting to see how this beloved chain adapts to busy times!
The drive through line went all the way around the building, so I went inside to order. The dining room was open but there was hardly anyone inside. I had no problem placing my order.
L C — Google review
I ordered a 10pc chicken nugget and only got 9. Also an employee was twirling around a cleaning rag aimlessly hitting the table and other equipment around him near the drive thru window.
Jenna B — Google review
Service was slow in the drive through. Coffee was cold, pie was cold, and soda barely had any ice in it. Fries were fresh and tasty.
Kessiah G — Google review
I feel bad for every staff member of this McDonald’s! We went through the drive-thru & the young man in this video was so sweet & kind, and as friendly as could be - the woman (who I assume to be the manager) was screaming her head off at them the entire time we were in the line - one young lady walked away crying. She was absolutely degrading them!! My heart broke for the employees - I don’t know the circumstances but I do know that no one should ever be talked to or treated the way she was treating them!!
Meghan D — Google review
One of the worst branches I've visited. Cleanliness is 10%. The restaurant smells bad (raw chicken), an unacceptable smell. I hope they pay attention to it, because it reflects a negative opinion about the branch.

I was having trouble with the app, she didn't want to help. I found d out after I got home that I was double chartered. I only got 2 chicken sandwiches & 1 lg fry.$31,80 & 2 transactions was done. They never answer the phone. So I called my Franklin store to get the corporate number. Pretty sad.

I have never been treated so Terrible! I placed my order at 8.59 infront of 2 Caucasian males and orded a Vanille Iced coffee. A Vanilla Iced Coffee. The 2 men being from the area I'm guessing we're served their meals before me. So when I asked for a refund due to it being such an inconvenience for them to make my Iced Coffee then the boy went around the wall for a few seconds comes back around and trying to give me my coffee inwhich it had been sitting on the other side of the wall the whole time but keep in mind the boy went around the wall for a few seconds he stabbed a hold in the cup before he tried to bring it to me so it was leaking everywhere. I then said no thank you, I'd just like my money back. He called for a manager who then came didnt even apologize or try to make things right. Did not ask anything! I asked for the boys name he said he didnt have to give it to me, it was just for the review of service. 15 minutes waiting for a Iced coffee. NEVER AGAIN!!! Advice for any Minority go through the drive thru atleast they can't see you to be racist. I know the boy was a Minority race but acted the same as the Caucasian woman that run that place. Racist! I've never felt so discriminated against and by a black boy. I am full blooded Oglala Lakota from Pine Ridge South Dakota and I was treated so badly this morning in this establishment!

Drive through Panda was the workers name . I had to ask for her name. No badge her black sweet shirt was covered in cat and dog hairs it was unsanitary and disgusting. She was rude and smart mouth there are 2 ORDER HERE and I pulled into the vacant one. She said it was dangerous to do that. Very rude and nasty clothing. I will be contacting the Health department to have the store checked. Nasty

Whether you're craving a classic Whopper or something new from their diverse offerings, Burger King promises a delicious experience every time you visit.
Came through the other day and was told to pull up to wait on some sweet tea the one guy said he was making fresh because they had just ran out and offered me a drink while i waited. The young man at the window, I believe his name was Cordell, was sweet too. He made sure we were all good before pulling up to wait and he even came out to check on us and update us on the tea brewing lol I asked him for everyone's names and I only remember his sorry.

UPDATE: I am changing my rating to 1 star. This is the second time I have come here with my little granddaughter and the dining room is closed. The food here is never great, but we used to get a meal and use the indoor playground. They advertise on the door, that they are open 6am-11pm. It’s currently 10:45am, and it’s really sad that I brought my grandchild here again, only to have her cry with disappointment. Never again. ☹️ Nice place for little ones to play safely and get a bite to eat!
L C — Google review
Really Burger King?! I usually expect an average meal which is enough for me to eat. But this is not edible, I already put in an order once and they gave me burnt chicken nuggets. I returned them and they gave me the proper order, I took it out and this is what I saw! The fries were also cold🤦. I have never seen this from a franchise before! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!
Evan Z — Google review
Do yourself a favor and go across the street to McDonald’s. Food was gross. The workers weren’t happy to be here and I wasn’t either.
Rae N — Google review
Probably the worst fast food restaurant in Bryson City for more reasons than I could list here. I've been through the drive through a total of four times in the last year, and have YET to have my order completed correctly. They recently reopened the dining room (following the pandemic) and my first dine-in experience there was today. The floors were filthy, sticky in places and slippery in others, and the food was less than desirable, even for the average Burger King. Go across the road to Arby's or McDonald's for a better fast food experience. You'll thank me later.
AJ B — Google review
How is this place still open. Absolutely everything sucked. Customer service, food and all. I felt like I was punished for making them do their job. My food wasn’t edible when I finally got it.

Worst Experience ever. Ordered online on door dash and for some reason they did not receive the order. Lady offered to give us what we ordered, but somehow got it wrong. We ordered 18 chicken fries but instead she gave us 18 chicken nuggets that was so horrible. They looked so disgusting. I usually don’t complain but this is unacceptable.

Asked for a grilled chicken wrap, the lady say I don't need a wrap i needed it in a flat bread it will save me money and proceeds to make it how she wanted it. Makes it and then asked if I wanted it toasted. I said no, but you kind of have too now. She says no eat it like this. Thinking the meat has to be put in the oven. Smh it was not good.
Alex C — Google review
Go there often and everyone of the staff members are very helpful and friendly with the exception of one younger girls who is almost always rude and acts like she would rather be somewhere else. She get annoyed when anyone uses coupons and says she can't honor particular ones or she'll get "fired on the spot" if she approves it... The other staff members never have an issue with coupons, ever. The tea turns have not been cleaned in a long time and tastes awful I spit it out today. One young man came in with is his mother and I heard him tell her don't get me tea it made me sick last time!! Clean the tea urns and tell "Karen" to lighten up and be nice.

There were flies everywhere, including the area where they make the subs. Got a BLT and was asked how much cheese I wanted, you don't put cheese on a BLT. Ask for a large drink, had no cups. Asked for a medium drink and they had no lids. I don't know who's running this place but they need to check their inventory much more often. As for the sandwich, tried to put all the bacon in one spot. I mean come on who wants a pile of bacon on one end of their sandwich and nothing but veggies on the other. The tomatoes look sketchy, so we will see you once I sit down for lunch.
