Coffee shop
Chleba Brno started as a small bread business, but has now expanded into a full bakery and cafe on Brnos Bratislavska Street. Their sourdough bread with crunchy crusts is highly popular and used by many food joints in the city. The spacious cafe offers a variety of coffee beans and an impressive selection of bread, focaccias, and pastries. Customers rave about the artisan quality of their baked goods, which are freshly made and sold daily.
Lovely café with delicious coffee, baked goods, and bread. Comfortable seating is available inside and out. Super friendly staff 😁🇨🇦
Kari Q — Google review
Amazing breads, coffee and paistries. I tried their skvarkovy bread and baguatte and some of the pastries and i loved all of them..prices are comparable to other quality bakeries.
Richard B — Google review
A newly opened (2025) artisan bakery and boutique coffee shop. Good food. International prices eg KR 180 flat white + cake but quality justifies this. Modern style. Friendly staff. Excellently made coffee and superior breads. There's an outdoor seating area with comfortable benches and it's a great place to chill and people watch. It's open at 8:00 a.m. so a good option for breakfast if you're a visitor staying in this part of town. Although we are still the customers appear to be locals.
Steve H — Google review
Delicious! Everything is fresh and nice. I recommend the Kanelbullar and pesto sandwich in focaccia
Hania H — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. But it is overpriced ( price is roughly 5x more then it should be ). Simple ingridients for a premium price. However - service is good. I can reccomend coffee and buchtas. Those are delicious! 😊 Cinnamon pastry ( kanelbullar) was cold and tough. Taste was simple and ok. Bread did not impress me at all. I had much better bread for a fraction of this price. ( in village bakeries and even in LIDL ). 😅 The main thing about delicious bread/pastries is that they still have to be warm. Here it was cold and hard, a bit sour, but not in a tasty way. Same with the the mortadella sandwich for 130 czk. 😁😅 Not worth it. Big, but dry because there is no any sauce inside. I also had a kombucha for 80 czk, that was also no good at all. Disaster. 😅
Gozo B — Google review
Great food especially bread! Lovely place with warm staff. 🤗 recommended.
Ludek B — Google review
A place with excellent bread to buy to take home, but also the place for breakfast, pastry snack or coffee. The interior is simple, but I liked seating at the window bench inside. Ordering happens at the cash desk, but the order is brought afterwards by a waitress to the table where the customer sits. You can find also some non-bread related specialties from different producers at the shells at this place.
Jana K — Google review
This is by far the best bakery I have been to in Brno. These guys are true artisans and creating great query bread & pastries that are quite simply sublime. Came in in the morning to pick up some fresh olive bread, croissants & a coffee. The bread was one of the best breads I have tasted in my life, really it was. If you are looking for a cool place to sit & enjoy some quality craftsmanship then this is the place to come. The guys speak English and card payments are also available.

Espresso bar
Located on the bustling Cabbage Market (Zelny trh) in Brno, Momenta Cafe offers a taste of French cuisine without leaving Czechia. The cafe's outdoor seating area is popular during sunny days, providing a vibrant atmosphere next to the local vegetable markets. For those with a sweet tooth, there's another branch nearby offering cookies and biscuits.
I had a lovely visit to Coffee Bar Momenta and was impressed. I ordered a chai latte with coconut milk, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly spiced, creamy, and not overly sweet. I also tried their green tea called Sakura Dream, and it completely lived up to its name. Light, floral, and incredibly refreshing—possibly the best green tea I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was nice. Highly recommend!
Pavla K — Google review
Perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the sunny day. This cafe has some sweet pastries but also quite dietary food like fruit& vegetable smoothies and some homemade bread sandwiches. The location is close to the city centre, so the place is really popular.
Maria S — Google review
This seems to be a very popular place. The menu has a large choice of drinks and there are sweets on display inside. The service was fast and the staff are friendly. I’d say though that some things are kinda expensive, but I suppose that’s expected for a place in the center with the terrace viewing the square and the fountain. We didn’t like the seats outside though, they seem to be quite inconvenient. The coffee was good
Anya N — Google review
Nice atmosphere, wonderful service and tasty cappuccino with lovely latte art. I stayed inside and it was perfect for the summer weather. I especially liked the music, every song was one of my favorites so I had a hard time leaving because I wanted to listen more! :) Plus the mugs are so cute! The staff was really patient with me, I'm trying to learn czech but still struggling and mixing english and czech together ahaha but they understood and switched between languages without judgement. Thank you! Definitely recommend!
Sara — Google review
This coffee place was the best one on my trip. Beautiful place, delicious and pretty food, super SUPER friendly stuff and a lot of options to buy, including specials coffee. The coffees are amazing! You have to stop here and enjoy the experience. 👍🏼
Janaina N — Google review
Incompetent lawyers don’t even know basic bar etiquette. They put the wrong kind of straw in the drink — it’s unpleasant to drink from. All the small fruit pieces end up in my mouth. Instead of one large straw, there should be two thin ones so you can sip comfortably without anything getting stuck.
Devid L — Google review
What I like the best about this place is brunch offer. There are so many options with both sweet and salty meals, that I'm sure that everybody can choose. Too bad that this offer is not valid for the whole day, but really just during brunch time. Besides brunch options, the café offers also some meals for other times of the day. They are good, but might end up slightly expensive for someone's taste. The interior is nice and cozy, especially during winter with all those light chains around the place. Staff was very friendly and I appreciated that our waitress spoke English, since my friend that I visited the place with doesn't speak Czech.

I enjoy the vibe here. Esp the outdoor seating sipping some champagne, cocktails and coffee with friends. The staff is english friendly and gives great recommendations

Located conveniently between Luzanky Park and Moravian Square, Coffee Bar Mymika is a cozy spot with a simple yet meaningful concept. The name "Mymika" comes from the Czech phrase "milujeme kavu," meaning "love coffee." One of their unique offerings is the Coco-Chilli Flat White, a delightful blend of coffee, coconut milk, and chili that starts off mild and ends with a spicy kick.
These were the fluffiest and the tastiest scrambled eggs I’ve tried. The atmosphere is amazing too.
Svitlana S — Google review
Nice little cozy coffee place with very delicious specialty coffee (fifty beans) and great brunches offers. We had Avo bread and Vajo bread which both we can recommend. Friendly staff and very talented barista ☕️ we would definitely come here again! PS the place is a bit small so if you want to be sure, better make a reservation!
Radwa A — Google review
A very small and cute café with great brunch options. I totally recommend avocado toast with made with sourdough bread. Since the place is so popular for its brunches, I strongly recommend to make a reservation. Otherwise it'll be a challenge to get a table on a weekend day. And because the place is so small, it can be a bit noisy. Staff working at the place was super friendly.
Jana K — Google review
nice place in the center to stop by for brunch or coffee :) I had pancakes with a bun, it was really delicious, I recommend it 🙂
Dušan E — Google review
Nice breakfast place. The food and coffee was good. Couldnt eat my avocado bread, the staff gave me box so i could take it with me. Nothing bad to say about my visit there.

We liked our breakfast in the Coffee Bar Story. Nice food and friendly people.
Benscho — Google review
I just have to say that the coffee was INCREDIBLE! If you're a really coffee drinker, than you won't be embarrassed about this place. The bartender was a really nice guy, smiling all the time and talking to you if you just wanted to, we really appreciate that! However it is not a quiet place, where you can sit for a long and enjoy the time cus of the noise from the street, BUT the coffee and nice breakfast are worth it! We took an avocado bread, it was tasty and fresh, but the pancakes with pistachio were much better 🫠🤤

Zemanova kavárna a cukrárna is the oldest confectionary shop and cafe in Brno, offering traditional Czech desserts. The retro coffee/cake shop has a wide selection of delicious cakes prepared fresh daily. Despite being frequented mostly by an older crowd, the service is fast and attentive even during peak hours. The interior exudes an original first Republic atmosphere, providing a vintage 50s cafe feeling in the city center.
Finally I decided to visit this place that I usually pass by day by day. Wonderful retro coffee/cake shop with delicious offer, prepared fresh daily. The service was really nice and very fast even during peak hour, very pleasant and attentive. Coffee is one of the best in the city centre (definitely in my top 3), and the cake selection is rather wide. I chose the Sacher cake and it was heavenly! I will definitely be back to try out the rest. Card payments available, expect mostly older crowd. Overall 5 stars, no doubt.
Enrico P — Google review
Coffee was good but the desserts were not. But this is not about the bakery this is about the Czech desserts. They are not good enough.
Seher B — Google review
An old-school confectionery with both traditional, but also a bit punk cakes. I was surprised by offer of sugar-free cream puffs. I really appreciate this step forward to people that either don't want eat so much sugar in their lives, but want to still go out and enjoy coffee with their friends, or simply can't eat sugar. I went for one of these cakes. Regarding the taste, my sugar-free cream puff was good, but quite heavy. I think that most of the filling was simple whipped cream. Very tasty, but it makes you full really quickly. Interior of the place is another story. If you are into historical buildings or interiors, this is the place for you. Enjoy how nicely preserved and maintained this place is.
Jana K — Google review
Nice little retro café. Great atmosphere food is average. The staff is nice. Very quiet when my wife and I were there. I recommend it just for the ambiance. It is not far from the main square in Brno. This place is like stepping in the past.
Joseph B — Google review
The best “vetrnik” ever! I have tasted a few of them in Brno and this is absolutely the best of the best. “Spicka” wasn’t fresh and unfortunately one of our coffee was served with ild milk, which we changed immediately. All people working there are super friendly and nothing problem. If you are under 50, you will be one of the youngest there😂 But who cares.
Marta C — Google review
NEVER AGAIN. Would rather visit Placzek down the street. Tihs place has a lot of potential and there is a lot of history interwinding its walls and dishes. We have attended an evening concert during the Janáček Brno festival, where we had to make a reservation, so we expected that the service will be swift in order not to ruin the atmosphere and so one can focus on the music. Unfortunatelly, right off the bat we were informed that when we like to order their "famous" cakes, we need to go downstairs to check the offer as the waitresses apparently did not know what is "left". Quite sad that we had to select from leftovers basically, the café did not pre-stock for an event attended by, guessing, 50-60 people. We ordered filtered coffee and a decaf cappuccino and then their "famous" Veletržní Cake, "had", some nougat and chocolate cake. And then the f-ups started. We found out that while going downstairs to see if the have the cake, going up and waiting for the waitress, someone else snatched the cakes we wanted to order. Nice. Ok, next, after 15 minutes, we got the decaf and were informed they do not have coffee filters .... how can you run out of those in a café? So we switched to other coffees. And while we did expect that the coffees may take a moment, we had to wait for a total of 40 minutes to slowly begin receiving the cakes and coffees, one at a time over another 15 minute span. I even went to ask the waitresses what is going on. "We are busy". Duh, you have 4 waitresses on the floor for 60 people, I would say no more than 4 tables per waitress. That is inexcusable unprofessionality and lazyness. After we finally got everything (the concert was already at its end), one confused waitress brought actually a Veletržní cake to our table ... So apparently, the guys who ordered it before we got the chance to and so we had to change our order, received it even later than we did our changed order. I mean come on, how bad as a waitress you have to be to make a guest wait almost an HOUR for a piece of cake that is already pre-sliced?! Never ever again. The cakes and coffees we got were nothing exceptional, and the concert was totaly ruined for us, as we kept looking around whether are still roasting the beans for our coffee or whether they forgot about us. I would give 2-3 stars for the food and atmosphere normally at least if the service would be ok, but the waitresses totally ruined it for us so badly. Thanks a lot, your manager must be proud.

Tucked away in a charming courtyard off Brno's Cabbage Market, Buchta C is a delightful little café that specializes in one delectable treat: Buchteln. These Czech pastries are baked to perfection and filled with powidl, a rich plum butter that boasts an incredible depth of flavor. While the café also serves excellent coffee, it's the sweet dough rolls that truly steal the show.
Cute cafe with really good coffee. Inside of the courtyard, there are several other places with a common arra. The vertical green wall add a really good vibe to the place
Zoé D — Google review
Delicious buchta. I liked the one with tvaroh filling better (cottage cheese I guess?). The poppy seed one looked very promising regarding the amount of filling but jn the end there was not so much of it inside… overall very nice. Friendly waitress and you can pay with card.
Dominika N — Google review
The best visit of the place would be to order your coffee to take it to go, as the place is very small. It offers actually just one sitting table for 2 people, that me and my friend used at the time when we got to the place for our coffee. There is also a bench inside for sitting for 1 or 2 people, it depends how squeezed you want to be. As the place is super small, there is no toiler directly at the place. What I found interesting is a sink for hand washing. Probably because of buchty that the place offers. I can imagine them being a very good breakfast material. The inner yard of the building where the café is located, looks magical. The yard doesn't have roof so it will be cold to stand there in winter, despite some portable heaters places outside. Because of that, I think it is slightly better to sit there and enjoy it during summer, or at least a bit warmer days.
Jana K — Google review
Very small and a little bit hidden, but cozy place, with amazing cafe and buchta (as the name suggests). I highly recommend going and sitting in the courtyard sipping a coffee while enjoying the view :)

Chocolate cake was the dryest thing ever, structural sawdust and sucks all the moisture out of the mouth. Uneatable, sadly. 3 stars given for the coffee and service

Ok part of a much cooler outdoor-dining industrial complex. Deserts on the drier side, drinks are on the watery side, prices on the wealthier side. For: peeps that try to stop being a miser, don't care where to chill to a deezer; Not for: guys that want more than a teaser

Mama Stella is an extraordinary establishment that offers a delightful and inviting atmosphere. The proprietors' exemplary hospitality creates a warm and inviting environment. Their coffee is of excellent quality, and their delectable Greek pastries are truly delicious. While the bread remains untested, it has received favorable reviews from others. Without hesitation, Mama Stella is an establishment that should be on everyone's list to visit repeatedly. Their outstanding service and scrumptious treats make it a highly recommended destination for any food enthusiast.
Absolutely amazing food. I highly recommend the focaccia with feta and olives – it was delicious. The staff were lovely and also make great coffee (unfortunately only to go, but still tasted fantastic). For sure one of the best bakeries in Brno. I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you.
Beata Z — Google review
The best focaccia in town. They just need to make more of it on a daily basis, and definitely, the place could benefit from a few extra tables to sit.
Mohamed M — Google review
This is a Greek bakery and the young lady working there was really friendly. I had the baklava and the bread with spinach. Enjoyed it. I came too late, barely any bakes left! Would love to try more next time.
Valerie H — Google review
Had their foccacia with olives and feta cheesee. Nice, but for a premium price I would expect more cheese. 😉 Also it was room temperature. I like all baked products warm. It makes them 30% better - especially if fresh but even if only microwaved for few seconds. Bougatsa (greek custard pie ) was a bit better because it was warm. Service could be better. Also quality of the coffee and cutlary and cups ( they are paper cups ).
Gozo B — Google review
Highly recommend this place! We tried all sorts of things, and everything was absolutely delicious and tasty. Definitely the best bread 😊. It’s a must-visit spot whenever you’re near this bakery. The cinnamon rolls are out of this world 👌🏻. I also have to mention the lovely terrace, the friendly staff, and the great owner of this small bakery. So there are no excuses—go there, now! 😀

The Roses Coffee&Store - Specialty coffee Espresso Bar is not just a regular cafe; it's also a haven for true coffee enthusiasts and features a Barista Academy that adheres to the standards of SCA training centers. While the original location can be found in Kralovo Pole, north of Brno's city center, The Roses Espresso bar at the Grand Hotel in Brno Old Town offers an exceptional coffee experience.
Perfect specialty coffee. We loved it. It is very small, mainly for take-away. There are stairs at the entrance, so it’s difficult to access with a stroller.

The Roses Benešova - Specialty Coffee Espresso Bar (Brno) Beautifully presented drinks that are definitely Instagram-worthy, but unfortunately, the espresso lacked depth and flavor. If you’re looking for a visually appealing coffee experience, it’s a nice stop—but for true espresso lovers, it might fall short.

Impeccable service 5💫 The lady who runs the cafe/ or works there is super lovely and polite, great coffee and pistachio pain. I had a long waiting time for my bus, which otherwise could have been a very annoying experience was made into a very pleasant one thanks to her💓☕️ A must visit when you are in the area✨
Izem Y — Google review
One of my favourite places in town! It's a speciality coffee place, so if you're like me, fascinated by coffee beans and the different flavours they can offer this is the perfect place! I love the morning atmosphere, service is impeccable, no waiting time for delicious coffee. The prices are fair and the tables have enough space to enjoy your coffee and writing, using a laptop or just chill there. I'm not fluent in czech, and usually mix a little bit of english and češtinu ahahah but nobody is judging, I always feel welcome from the warmth and kindness of the staff.
Sara — Google review
Small but very welcoming inside. Kind waitress, a good option for a coffee before taking a train.
Les R — Google review
Nice little cafe, they only have a few tables inside. Very well designed with some great coffee products to buy. We tried their cappuccinos & a few pastries, while the pastries were delicious we were disappointed with the coffees as they were not hot & had very little foam. (Cappuccino should have a good amount of foam) more of a flat white to be honest.
Carl M — Google review
Had a fantastic coffee here earlier today. The lady working here works really hard to make your experience great. Tap water available with the coffee. Nice vibes and music. I was in Italy last week and the coffee I had here was far better than any I had there! There are stairs to get in so likely not wheelchair accessible.
Lauren J — Google review
Very good coffee at a tiny café place. If you consider buying somewhere either roasted coffee beans or grind coffee for you to take home, this would be also a good place for you, as the the place is a branch of coffee roaster in Brno with the same name. I believe that if someone arrives with a luggage, a lot of space inside will be already occupied. I think that if you carry any luggage and it's summer, maybe sitting outside would be better. I don't know, though, if the tables outside are waited. Toilets are available inside of the building, you just need to get there through the long hall to get there.

Bakery
William Thomas Artisan Bakery in Brno is a top recommendation for those looking for quality baked goods. The bakery offers a wide variety of pastries, including croissants and croque madams. Visitors can watch the bakers at work through the glass as they prepare fresh pastries. While some found the pastries not as warm or soft as expected, they praised the strong flavors. I was on my last day in Brno and I really wanted to check this bakery out because of the reviews but I wish I read more of them or something because I only bought one single pistachio croissant and then left Czechia by train however when I took the first bite I was instantly regretting my decision. Honestly I wish I bought one of each of the vegetarian ones. It was exquisite. Crunchy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside. Pistachio filling was delicious and full of flavour. I'm probably going to dream about this croissant tonight.

Great sour dough bread. I recommend stopping by in the morning, not in the afternoon, as I did. Most of the croissants and similar things are already sold out. It’s possible to eat your snack and drink your coffee at the place. The place is without waiting service and ordering happens on the ground floor.

We ordered a croissant with butter and a cold cappuccino (🤢). I asked them if they can prepare a cold cappuccino and they said yes. It was a disaster from automatic machine... The croissant was tasty and fresh.

My favourite place in Brno! The pastries are amazing and also the coffee! Sometimes it can a bit smell when a bread burns. The 2nd floor is nice and there are bathrooms but it’s not a place where I would stay for a very long time and work as it isn’t that much cozy.
Konrad — Google review
While staying in Brno, our Airbnb host recommended two bakeries- William Thomas and Carlini. Trying both, William Thomas was our second favorite, but still a quality bakery. When you walk in, you’ll see them making fresh pastries through the glass. All types of croissants, croque madams, and many other pastries. For breakfast, my six-year-old daughter and I enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant, croque madam, and chocolate croissant. They weren’t as warm or soft as we’d hope, but the flavor was strong. They sell coffee, juices, etc. The upstairs is nice with little corners to sit in, Wi-Fi, and water. There’s outdoor seating too.

Delicious!! Everything we ordered was amazing. We sat upstairs and though it wasn’t big, it was really clean, tidy and comfortable.

Bought bread and chocolate croissants before Christmas. Croissants were exquisite. The bread could be used as a brick to kill somebody. Tried the bread when I got home, and I had to throw it away. Had literally 2 options (wheat or rye). Don't advise the Pain de Seigle at all.

Excellent bakery, the chocolate croissant (Croissant čokoládový) is flaky and airy with chocolate in every bite

Smajlík - special gluten-free bakery offers a wide selection of daily fresh baked goods, pastries, treats, and snacks that are indistinguishable from 'normal' products but cater to food allergy sufferers. The friendly service and extensive range of pastries and desserts make it a go-to spot for celiacs. Customers have praised the gluten-free rolls and muffins with apricot jam for their delicious taste.
I can't think of a better gluten-free spot in the czech Republic. I was there with my girlfriend about 2 months ago, she's got celiac disease, and it was such a relief to find a place like this. Very good prices, amazing service, it's like a mini market where you can also buy some stuff to eat right there while having a nice capuccino. The lady that runs the place is the nicest person we've met in along while. Don't miss this place and save the location in case you have to avoid gluten and Brno is only a stop by in your trip.
Santiago K — Google review
It is amazing to have a gluten free place with specialised pastry in a neighbourhood. i also like the variety of their offer. What i miss is exclusive, top quality products that focus at freshness, innovation and authenticity: "chlebicky" with exotic or inspiring ingredience, such as smoked eel; Stone-oven baked pitas and midde-east styled bread; Crispy french styled pastries etc. So far there is a great offer for "daily customers" but nothing to attract foodies who search for unique, high quality gastronomy experience.

This is a fantastic gluten-free bakery in Brno, and a great service for those that need to eat gluten-free. The bread and pastries are some of the best I've had, the workers are friendly, and the prices reasonable.

Café Placzek is a charming two-story glass café located on Minoritska Street 4, offering picturesque views of the Franciscan church. Opened by a couple in 2013, it also houses a bed-and-breakfast on the upper floors. The café is popular for its morning offerings and weekend brunches, featuring homemade pastries and quality ingredients. It's advisable to make reservations due to its constant popularity.
I came to this place unplanned but it was a great experience. Different breakfast options - next time I will come to try goat cheese for sure! Polite and friendly staff, both cash and card payments are accepted. Location is in the city centre, just 5-6 minutes from the main train station. Great place to have a healthy breakfast.

I had an incredible 5-star breakfast experience at Cafe Placzek! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service provided was exceptional. Our waiter made our visit special, even though I can't recall his name. The only downside was higher prices compared to other places in Brno, but it was worth it for the excellent products and top-notch service. I highly recommend this cafe for a delightful breakfast treat!

Great experience - many brunch options, even keto diet suitable options. Prices about 200-250kr / meal for brunch. All meals were great!!
Inge R — Google review
The place was busy so I can understand how it happened but it still doesn’t make up for my cold Benedict :( We waited at least half an hour for food to arrive, the waitress was perfectly polite but never came back to ask how anything was or to clear our plates, in the end we just walked downstairs to pay. My Benedict was room temperature at best (the bread was completely cold) and the tiny bits of salmon didn’t taste like anything much. The minorite breakfast was fun and interesting (and hot!) so we can recommend that, and the freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juice.

We just had our brunch here. Price was 820 CK and waitress took by herself 180CK tip. This behaviour was very unprofessional and felt manipulative. Money was not added to bill, she just took it making smiley and comment in Czech language that we didn't understand even though our previous conversation was in English. We stay 10 days in Brno and now we know where in next 9 days we wont eat. Thank you for that acknowledge.

Patisserie Kolbaba is a delightful gem situated just a short stroll from the city center, making it an accessible stop for dessert lovers. Known for its delectable treats, it's wise to arrive early as their popular desserts tend to sell out quickly. In addition to individual pastries, you can also order whole birthday cakes here, perfect for special celebrations. The patisserie boasts intriguing architectural features designed by the renowned Jan Visek in the 1930s, adding a unique charm both inside and out.
Very good one again, just longer queue in the shop.
Kamil T — Google review
The coffee is good but I can't say the same about the cakes. All cakes are the same the main difference is the cream. There is too much cream and it is very oily. Sorry but I can't recommend the cakes.
Aleksandr Z — Google review
First of all I did not order a whole cake, so I m not commenting on that service. From the comments I read though I see it depends what cake you order, so some are problematic. Which is weird🤨 I am commenting the coffee and the piece of cake I ordered. The one star I gave is for the waitress. I know there job is not always easy, we got what we ordered and did not wait. 👌🏻 OK However, all the rest - coffee, cake: this is a shame. In any coffee shop I was in Brno you get quality coffee and milk foam with some motive- barista quality. Here you get cheep coffee from a cheep coffee machine that probably does the foam automatically as well. You can make better coffee at home😉trust me. Cake: It was not fresh especially the toping that contained chocolate - the chocolate was old you can tell from the taste. I never ate that bad quality cake anywere else in Brno. My overall impression is “Lets charge maximum and give the bare minimum.” I regret giving you a chance.
Ivy M — Google review
Not very much cakes to choose from. When sitting outside, the view is blocked by parking cars. Table is not stable. Frappe is a bit average, 'punčový rez' and lemonade are great.
Anton H — Google review
This is very interesting, for its architect,Jan Víšek is very famous. It was built in the 30ts and both the outside of the block and the inside of the patisserie have very interesting features. The actual food and drink are ok, not special.
Anita G — Google review
After five years I decided to visit this place. Before it was nice with great cakes and coffee. Nowadays it's a total disaster. I ordered slice of cake and tea with milk and sugar. Waitress brought me only hot water, honey and milk. After my request for the tea and sugar she just went for a packed tea bag and sugar. Cake was dry but good. When I was paying they charged me two slices of cake. I said them there was a mistake. They refunded me but with no apology. That's unacceptable!
K. M — Google review
Cakes look great but I wouldn’t say they taste as good and are way too dry for my taste. Homemade lemonades lack flavor and are basically just water with throw in fruit. Not worth it for a price of 65. Staff is friendly expect for their unusual obsession of always cleaning the table even if you are still sitting there. Coffee is nothing special. Hate the cups though! They give you this thick-a** cup for expresso that you can hardly drink from. Overall, there are worst cafes but unless you’re really craving a cake and just want to sit, I would go elsewhere. There wasn’t much traffic on Saturday so might be a good idea if you’re looking for a quiet place.

The cafe offers a variety of seasonal donuts with unique fillings and toppings. Customers praise the friendly staff and commendable service. Come early, don’t be like me! You’ll get more options. I do enjoy the raspberry donut but felt like the donut was not as soft or airy as I imagined it to be. Not sure if it’s because it’s towards the end of the day. The lady working there was really lovely! Great service.

A nice little café with interesting and not only donut offer. All the donuts from this place that I have tried were always very nicely decorated, but also too sweet for me. I think that I would appreciate a bit lower level of sweetness, then it would be perfect. But I believe that majority of people appreciates exactly this kind of snacks. The staff working at this place was friendly and welcoming.

I loved the kind, welcoming and warm staff and the service was definitely commendable. My son and italian picky husband loved all the donuts we tried. However, im not so fond of fried donuts as it has an after taste of oil in it(thats just a personal preference). The cream in it is delicious and definitely top notch. My hubby and son are adamant in buying donuts from here every weekend. 🙃

Nestled in the heart of Brno, Carlini is a delightful bakery that beautifully marries Slovakian and Hungarian influences with Czech and Italian traditions. With a rich background in the culinary world, Misa and Antonio have crafted an inviting space where quality reigns supreme. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by an array of tempting pastries, ice cream, coffee, wines, and more. Their focaccia is particularly noteworthy—infused with rosemary for a flavor that's hard to find elsewhere.
Recommended to us by our Airbnb host, Carlini is the best bakery we visited while in Brno. Step inside and don’t be fooled by the shelves of wine, olive oil, and flour. Just passed the community table is the bakery with pastries on display. We ordered the “cinnamon snails” (a cinnamon roll) and the “Muffin Carlini” (a chocolate muffin with a light and fluffy texture). Both were great, but we ended up getting two more cinnamon rolls. Service was excellent and they also sell coffee. While we sat at the table eating, a constant flow of customers formed, a good sign it’s a quality bakery!

Visited Carlini in Brno early in the morning — one of the very few places open from 7 AM, which was a big plus. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the coffee was excellent, and the focaccia was absolutely delicious. Cozy interior made it even more enjoyable, and I loved that you can also buy some quality Italian products there. A perfect morning spot!

One of the nicest bakeries in Brno. Everything is fresh, with really high quality ingredients and the products are super tasty, a true Italian bakery. Super friendly staff and they are happy to serve you in English as well. On 20.11.2024 I visited the bakery after lunch and I asked for three items. Once I return to my work I discovered that one of the items was missing. After work I returned to the bakery where I explained the situtation to one of their employees which didn't happen to work in the morning but still they didn't hesitated to give me the missing item. A really pleasant experience, highly recommended.
Tasos K — Google review
Pizza just ok, but overpriced. Service good. Interior not comfortable.

I love sourdough bread and this is a perfect place for that in Brno. The Italian owners are making and offering their own pastry and pasta. Plus there is a lot of other Italian high quality groceries that you can buy here, such as olive oil, dried tomatoes, pesto, sardines, etc. The bread I bought was great! I asked staff for recommendation and got the bread with big holes inside, exactly as I wanted. I was told that it's possible to order bread online in advance. This way, the bakery has time to prepare sourdough as fermentation of yeast takes some time, and customers can be sure that they have fresh bread. If you live close by, or have a way through city center, make a small detour and try sourdough bread at this place. I believe you will like it.

It offers outdoor seating and locally roasted coffee, creating a great vibe for patrons to enjoy fresh cakes while soaking up the sun.
Excellent place for having coffee and cakes! Set aside from the busy centre, and designed in a trendy industrial layout, the coffee shop has friendly staff, outside terrace, underground house music and laid-back atmosphere. The filter coffee wasn’t amazing, but I guess this is the case in any coffee house ;) however the cappuccino was topnotch. We also enjoyed a perfect slice of banana bread, a round shaped caramel eclair, and a traditional Czech cake called Pernik which comes close to a brownie.

Delicious pastel de nata. However, to reach it's full potential it should be freshly baked or at least microwaved. Great coffee! ☕️😊 To be improved: 1. If you plan to work from here - the music ( rap/r'n'b) is a bit loud. So not good if you have meetings. 2. People love to sit back and relax. My back is cold from the wall. 🥶 Lose the scandinavian furniture and give us comfy old recliner chairs and couches with back rest from the communist era. 😀

In covid times, I was attending an event called Fenstr Tour. This café was one of the few that wanted to keep their customers in the time of lock down and provide good coffee to go. There was a line of people waiting in front of the place to get their coffee at the time when I went for to the café for my coffee. I think that the location of the place contributes to a number of place's customers a lot. Staff at the place is nice, my coffee was good and I appreciate also a fact that the café offers also other hot drinks than just coffee. It's convenient in a case you go out with someone that doesn't want or can't drink coffee. EDIT: Hello Martin. Thank you for your response and caring for customers' opinion for the place that you own. I gave 3/5 because everything was quite well at the café, which equals to me as "good" for the rating. As the place wasn't properly open, I didn't have a chance to experience the whole service, etc., therefore to see what additional or extra can the place offer to the customers. Maybe I will give the place another try when everything is properly open after covid and maybe I'll fell in love with the place. Then I update my review, describe my experience and change my rating, if applicable, of course. I hope this sounds reasonable to you and it's enough of explanation of my approach to place reviews. I wish you and your café all the best for the New Year!

More of a takeaway place, they do have some seating outside but not comfortable especially in winter. Great pastries and cakes but 95kc was way too much for a croissant, actually the most I have ever paid in Brno for one. While delicious I can’t justify the cost for a takeaway product. You can find similar quality pastries for 65kc at other bakeries.

Matějovo pekařství is a charming bakery located near the cabbage market in Brno's old town. It offers a wide selection of sandwiches, pastries, and cakes at very reasonable prices. The bakery occupies part of the ground floor of a newly refurbished building, providing a nice view of the market square. Visitors can enjoy good quality coffee at an affordable price or opt for tap soda if they prefer.
A large choice of fresh baked goods! Few tables to sit and a lot of people ordering from that place. We understand why, it is very good and perfect for a break in the afternoon.

Had kokoska and moraksky vdolek. Nothing special. 🥲 Sweet, but does not seems very fresh and it is not warm. I think bakeries in billa, albert and lidl do better job at lower price.
Gozo B — Google review
Excellent Czech-style bakery. Their cakes and bread are excellent, my favourites are bread with walnuts, and yeast dough slices with plums and poppy seeds like my grandma used to make.
Mirek M — Google review
Very nice small bakery, ideally located in the city centre on the Cabbage market (Zelný trh). They occupy part of ground floor of newly refurbished building and you have nice view on most of the market / squere. You can get coffee and pastry to go or eat in. Coffee is quite good, and for nice price. If you are not into coffee that much, get tap soda. Choose from lots of kinds of sweet pastry, or salty ones, get a fresh homemade baguette or filled croissant or czech specialty, open sandwich (chlebíček). I have never left dissatisfied. Ladies are nice and helpful. It's hard to find some negatives. Sometimes, when you come here at later morning hours, you will not find your favorite dish. From time to time there ale lots of people eating in, maybe few more tables would be nice, but then again y there is not much of spare space left. In the summer there are few tables outside.

There is a reason why all reviews are 5 stars, this place is amazing! Such a cozy spot to stop and refuel after a hike/bike ride. Nestled in the heart of Brno, BẾP Vietnamese Village Cuisine is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its cozy yet modern ambiance, this restaurant invites you to indulge in authentic Vietnamese flavors. I had the pleasure of savoring both Pho Ga and Pho Bo, each bowl brimming with rich aromas and perfectly cooked noodles that truly comforted the soul. The balance of herbs and spices was spot on! Additionally, their impressive red wine selection pairs beautifully with the dishes.
I had the pleasure of trying both the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and Pho Bo (beef pho), and they were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and comforting, with just the right balance of herbs and spices. The broth was aromatic, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Perfect for Czech people to try it :) I also tried their red wine, and wow—it’s impressively strong and pairs well with the meal. If you're looking for a great Vietnamese dining experience, I highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back!

Lemonades were great ( coconut lemonade in a can and lichi lemonade ). Chicken Curry and Bun bo nam bo were just ok. Average at best. If you’re craving an unforgettable dining experience that marries vibrant Vietnamese flavors with an atmosphere that feels like a warm embrace, Rếstaurant is your destination. Tucked in the heart of Brno, this restaurant is a culinary treasure that left me enchanted and eager to return before I’d even finished my meal. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere wraps you in a spell of cozy and modern sophistication. The space is a perfect blend of modern and greenery—think sleek wooden decorative tables, perfect lighting casting a golden glow, and amazing artwork adorning the walls. The air hums with the gentle clink of chopsticks, lively chatter, and the soothing music, creating a vibe that’s both intimate and invigorating. Whether you’re on a romantic date or catching up with friends, the ambiance sets the stage for a memorable evening. The staff, radiating genuine warmth, greet you like family, guiding you to your seat with smiles that make you feel instantly at home. Now, let’s talk about the food—oh, the food! cuisine that’s as authentic as it is divine with a modern twist. Their phở is nothing short of a masterpiece: a steaming, fragrant bowl of rich, slow-simmered beef broth that’s soul-warming and perfectly balanced. The noodles are silky, the thinly sliced beef melts in your mouth! I couldn’t resist pairing it with refreshing lychee drink. YUM! The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is artful, and the menu offers something for everyone. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and every bite feels like a celebration of Vietnamese culture. As I sipped on my coffee, creamy and bold, I watched other diners revel in the same joy I felt—laughter, shared plates, and satisfied sighs filled the room. Rễtaurant isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a vibe, a flavor journey, a place where memories are made. Do yourself a favor and visit soon—you’ll leave with a full belly, a happy heart, and plans to come back. Trust me, this is the kind of spot you’ll want to shout about to everyone you know. 😋

Very good and a less usual Vietnamese meals. I would appreciate some pictures in the menu, as I didn't know a lot of meals by name. So I googled them on my phone. But one thing that I can say is that the place has more interesting menu than some other Vietnamese restaurants in Brno, or at least a bit less usual. I and my friend were lucky enough to get a table by a window. It was nice, but after some time you realize that it's also a bit cold there, sitting close to a window during winter months. And those blinking lights that look so amazing from outside as you pass by will get on your nerves when you chill inside for some time. In any case, I'm very glad that we were lucky to try that spot. It's a part of the restaurant's experience. The place can get pretty full and staff is not managing to take orders and bring your meals that fast, so count with that in advance.

(Translated by Google) Very unaccommodating and rude service, an older lady with short blonde hair started gossiping about me and her colleague right in front of me?! And that's because, after waiting for 5 minutes for the naan to be heated (which I originally wanted unbaked, but they said they can't give it out), I asked if they would give it to me, saying that it was enough warmed up like this (and it was baked really enough, until crispy), because I was in a hurry. And the lady immediately began to loudly explain to her colleague, I quote "But I told her that she had to let it bake, I really feel like Alice in Wonderland with him." Like this is how you treat well-behaved customers when they ask for a simple request?? The sales lady was very condescending to the other customers, like she was doing them a favor or something. (Original) Veľmi nepřizpůsobivá a hrubá obsluha, starší paní s krátkými blond vlasy mě s kolegyní začaly pomlouvat přímo přede mnou ?!

Amazing quality and the worst service ever, really rude lady attendant behind the counter. "Response after Adriana's answer" Thank you Adriana, for taking the time to respond to me. I agree that the term "rude" is vague and not entirely fair, especially since the quality of your product is truly flawless. I have updated my rating to 3 stars, considering the overall experience. I apologize for the initial low score. My intention was to express the weight that rudeness and poor service carries in the overall customer experience, regardless of how incredible the food is. To provide the clarification, I was visiting Aida on September 25th, around 11:00 am, with my father. The patisserie was empty. I initially approached a lady behind the counter and asked if I could place an order. She curtly told me that I could only order if I was seated. I sat down and waited for a couple of minutes. A different, and very kind lady then came to our table to take our order. Since my Czech is not very good, I simply stood up and pointed to what I wanted in the display case. Eventually, the first lady (the one behind the counter, maybe the boss) returned, shouting at me that I needed to order from the attendant, and then she abruptly walked away. It was incredibly rude. I couldn't understand her point, as I was seated and her colleague had literally just finished taking my order. I will definitely return, but I might stick to the take-away option next time! :)

An unusual place for the area it's located in. The interior is very attractive, with lots of space, light, and coziness. The staff is friendly and responsive. Everyone speaks good English. I asked them to cut an apple for my child, and they were happy to help. I ordered Masala tea and a Zaher cake. I wouldn’t order this tea again. If you want to try something truly delicious and close to the real thing, go to one of the Namaskar restaurants. To my taste, it was just regular tea with milk and a mild flavor that vaguely resembled masala tea. The cake was tasty. It was fresh and not as sweet as I expected. But it wasn’t a cake I’ll remember forever or rave about. It’s not in my personal top 5 cakes. I paid 260 CZK for everything, which I think is a fair price for my experience. If it weren’t for the service and atmosphere, I might have been disappointed. But overall, I’m satisfied. The pug was funny and kept my daughter entertained while I enjoyed the cake. Thank you!

Formerly known as Vegan Sweet Bar, the newly named Vegan Food & Sweet Bar in Brno, Czech Republic is a must-visit for vegans and food enthusiasts. This establishment not only offers a variety of delectable desserts but has also expanded its menu to include savory options like vegan burgers and hot dogs. The summer months feature delightful ice cream offerings.
Most of their daily menu options are decent. I particularly love their Vietnamese pho. They tend to make some really good pancakes with beets, potatoes, sour cream and avocado dip. If you get an opportunity, do get it! Their pasta with vegan meatballs is nice as well. On the downside, I don't really like their potato dumplings with onion sauce. Whenever they have an Indian dish, the rice tends to be tad bit undercooked. As an Indian, I usually expect my rice to be soft and moist. I have spoken to some of my Asian friends, and they had similar complaints with rice dishes. So I would avoid it if possible. I am still giving them 5 stars because the positives outweigh the negatives. They have got some brilliant desserts. I am gluten intolerant, and I must admit, they have some really good cakes and cupcakes with coconut and caramel frostings. It's amazing that they can make something taste so good when there's no dairy in it. I mainly stick to a plant based diet, so it's always a pleasure to visit this place. It's one of my favourite places to eat out in Brno.

Vegans rejoice this is one of the best places to get food and more importantly desserts. We had the mango cake and raspberry doughnut both were delicious. The staff are super nice & speak English. Along with a few other restaurants in the area vegan and vegetarians can eat super well in Brno.

Liked it! Really tasty donut, pita and homemade lemonade. Prices compering to Estonian vegan food are quite cheap. Atmosphere is very lovely.

Mmmm, tried the vegan "gyros" in pita bread today and its better than any meat gyros in the town. Tasty, juicy, big meal.

Very tasty vegan donuts, for me best ones are with nougat and pistachios. Employees are so cute and pleasant. Place to visit!

Donuts are good, but the menu today (which called itself Kung Pao) was horrendous. I missed the taste, rice was undercooked and the quality was like from university canteen. Would not expect that from menu that costs 155 Kč, next time I won´t visit for lunch. Only for desserts.

Avoid main courses here. I've tried two dishes. The first was poorly cooked, almost raw rice with thin curry, the second one were noodles swimming in a watery diluted soy sauce. Both tasted like a bunch of ingredients just ditched into plate, not as a fully-fledged meal. I'm used to surviving on budget student cantenas, but this was really bad. Prices are higher compared to other vegan restaurants, which in comparison provided very tasty unconventional food. Two stars for a nice environment and very clean toilets. Didn't try any desserts or ice cream, might be still good!

Best Vegan Donuts (and many other cakes) in town! Always welcomed with a smile and good vibes! Take your time to relax, have a nice chat and make that daily break to "breath"! ...Ah, and I also had the best vegan burger so far!

Yummy Lamy is a modern cafe in Brno, Czech Republic, offering delicious Mexican food like the chicken burrito at Bistro Bastardo. It's conveniently located next to Cafe Rebelbean and specializes in freak shakes, sweet waffles, and doughnuts. The cafe is known for its llama-themed mugs and cute interior with llama plushies. While the barista's service was a bit off-putting, the coffee made from a small family roaster was good.
Not necessarily a place for llama lovers only. As this is a hidden café located a little bit further from historical city center, it's hard to discover it just by walking through the streets. I stopped by because I wanted to try the place as I knew about the café before and I like the style that this place has. I had lamakao, which is cacao served in llama mug. There are three toppings to choose from. I went for mini marshmallows. It sounds very simple, but it's a cute way of serving cacao and it was fun sipping the cacao from this kind of mug. On top of that, there are few stuffed llamas placed on different sofas/chairs in the café. I cuddled with one of them while choosing a drink from menu. It was a cute offer. Maybe a little disadvantage is that the place doesn't have any cover for sitting outside. Me and my friend has decided to move and sit outside for a change as it was quite hot inside. After a while it started to rain. We needed to decide if we go inside again, or if we finish our dink faster and leave.

very cute but the barista was hiding somewhere playing with their phone which was pretty weird if you ask me. The coffee was okay. The interior on the other hand - SUPER CUTE!! with llama plushies and all. They offer pumpkin spice latte as one of their seasonal drinks so check it out if you’re into that.

Cafe with beautiful interior and friendly smiling service. They have an excellent coffee 100% of arabica and very tasty homemade goodies, donuts, cronuts and eclairs. I was very satisfied. This place is perfect for lovers of coffee and delicious sweets. I definitely recommend Yammy Lamy to visit!

I was amazed with both visual and tastiness of their sweets! Coffee made of small family roaster gives a propriate dot to their concept. Nice service and atmosphere. Something everybody should try, looking forward for next visit guys :)

I love this place! Beautiful lama decorations all over the place put you in relaxed mood and there are tasty desserts! And lama cups are so cute that I can’t take my eyes off of them! 😍

Loved how they served mini donut balls alongside coffee, cronut was amazing too! Good job on the latte art, but the coffee itself didn't taste good. I think they either need to change the machine setting or change the beans supplier. Btw pls learn from the coffee shop next door ;) and see the difference
