Cafe
Nestled in a serene garden with stunning views of the Cornish hills, Cowslip Cafe is a delightful spot in Launceston, Cornwall, where you can savor delicious home-baked meals while soaking up the picturesque countryside. The menu features mouthwatering options like quiches filled with broccoli and blue cheese or cheesy leek, as well as hearty beef and horseradish baguettes served with fresh salad.
We just had lunch here sitting out in the field with our 2 children. All the staff we encountered were absolutely lovely. The food was divine. The beetroot and Feta quiche was the best we've had in a long time and the cheese scone plate also delicious. Good portion sizes for a reasonable price. We will absolutely be back when passing through the area.

Almost certainly the best establishment I've ever eaten food at! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was peaceful and the view was beautiful. We had the company of a very nice horse in the field adjacent to our table! The service was really good and super chilled-out and we weren't interrupted mid-meal by anyone asking if everything was ok! Everything was perfect! 10 out of 10.

Restaurant
The White Horse Inn, a recently reopened pub, offers a pleasant atmosphere and delightful cuisine. The staff is exceptionally amiable and energetic, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Both the food and beverages are reasonably priced with an impressive range of options that boast excellent quality. This venue comes highly recommended for its ample parking facilities and additional vegetarian choices not featured on the menu. Despite being slightly understaffed, the courteous waitress was diligent, polite, and apologetic.
Just had a carvery. All 4 of us really enjoyed the food the meat just melted, so tender. Nice veg, super roast potatoes. Very good price. So will be back soon. Give it a go! Well done Laura
Marilyn B — Google review
Nice enough pub to stop for a bite of lunch on our way further south! Prawn baguette was delicious and the ham ploughman's too. No local cider, and service a little slow... but we're from London! Very friendly staff, so nice enough all round.
Paul R — Google review
Went for breakfast today as the place is under new management and had always done a hanging beeakie in the past. Disappointed this time however as the sausages were undercooked and pink in the middle. When asked to rectify the sausages were deep feed and returned still pink and the rest of the food had gone cold. Won't be going back again which is a shame. Breakfast also to half an hour being served.

My husband and I had lunch. The special 2 meals for 12 pounds. When it came to paying the bill.they had added on 6.70 pounds onto our bill.We still paid the vat tax but this was extra. Was it because we are tourist. My husband had paid the bill without checking. Not happy.
Trish A — Google review
We arrived and were greeted by a lovely lady called Laura. Tables were messy, but upon asking, Laura kindly cleared a table for us. I ordered the food within a few minutes of entering. The food took a good hour to arrive. All over cooked. No one approached us to check food was ok. Probably knew we would not be impressed. We ate it because we were all hungry, but extremely disappointed. I normally tip 10% for basic service and up to 20% for brilliant service. I have a 7 year old daughter and this was such a long wait, for such poor food. Upon finishing our food I went to bar to pay. Even now they still didn't ask how our food was. I don't normally leave reviews, but my family insisted as it was such a poor experience. This is the first time I haven't tiped for many years. Sorry Laura, but speed and quality was terrible, and you never even asked.

Coffee shop
Cafe
Nestled just off the bustling High Street, Liberty Coffee stands out as one of Cornwall's pioneering craft coffee shops. With a recent refurbishment enhancing its inviting atmosphere, this gem is run by passionate staff dedicated to serving exceptional brews sourced from renowned roasters like Origin and Square Mile. The quality of their coffee truly shines, making it a must-visit for any caffeine enthusiast in the area.
What a lovely place. Really enjoyed best coffee I had in England. Perfectly prepared and such a nice service. Unfortunately I had to give up on my diet because the cakes and scones are just amazing. Cosy to sit and enjoy but also everything for take away.
Heinrich H — Google review
Delicious food from this place and the coffee is some of the best I have had in a long while!! Found this place on Google Maps, well worth a visit. May I suggest a slight reorganisation of the counter to make it easier to see and hear staff when ordering. Great coleslaw! Food and coffee fantastic, photos are terrible (difficult when feeding two kids!). Great homemade food! Takes American Express, has high chairs, though no baby changing.
David M — Google review
This coffee house is a real coffee connoisseur place. I had the house blend to sit in, which was beautifully made and tasted lovely. I then had the guest roast as a long black takeaway. I got to watch the barista making my drink while I was waiting. Never have I seen so much care and attention put into making a coffee. It showed in the result, with a complex and multi-faceted coffee that I really enjoyed. An amazing coffee place! The food looked exceptional and is made in house.
Robert L — Google review
Great little coffee spot, some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long while! They use proper unharmonised milk (non of the mass brand poisons), which is impossible to find with coffee chains. Lovely polite service, very friendly, great place for a pit stop whilst wandering around the town. We need more great independent places like this in towns across the UK.
Matthew W — Google review
Lovely visit while passing through Launceston. We enjoy drinks with a sausage roll and a cheese and herb roll, both of which were delicious. The side salad was the best bit - so much more than the salad leaves and tomatoes I was expecting as a garnish. Friendly staff, a nice welcome and we timed our arrival perfectly before the deluge of rain. Highly recommend.
Amy C — Google review
Wow, just wow! Had THE most delicious vegan sausage roll with a superb homemade chutney (runner beans, who knew?) and a generous bowl of light and flavour-packed coleslaw-like salad. Really could not have been nicer. Even though I was full after that lot, I couldn’t resist the cake. Oh my. The courgette and lime cake may be the most sublime cake I have ever tasted. Awesome coffee too and friendly service with a smile. Stumbled on this place by accident so didn’t know its reputation in advance but this made my day, both the visit here and the five-hour walk up on Dartmoor that it fuelled!
Helen L — Google review
Discovered Liberty by chance around four to five years ago whilst searching for a good coffee shop in Launceston. It has since become our 'must visit' on every subsequent trip down to Penwith. The coffee is always outstanding and the varieties selected are always interesting. Long may it survive and flourish! Thank you.
Gareth W — Google review
Haven’t been here since I moved back to Bristol from Launceston in 2018. They still about the only place in the UK to get a flat white right! Can’t even find a decent one in Perth, Australia anymore… closest to a true flat white there is a ‘long mac, topped up’… a quirky Perth-ism. Keep up the great work Ben and team. Launceston is absolutely blessed to have such and excellent specialty coffee shop.

Gluten free fry up for £5! Wow, I'm not sure how they can do this?! Very quick service, friendly staff and generous portions. Offered my partner some cutlery too so we could share. LGBT friendly. Amazing 👏
U. C — Google review
The best value coffee and breakfast in town. It's one of those reliable places you wish will remain forever. Chap behind the counter is friendly and happy to chat. The seating inside is a bit tight and it's usually busy at the typical hours. Delivery is usually quick too.
Term S — Google review
Very small cafe, serving lovely food and coffee but long wait. When we arrived there where two other tables occupied, after over 30 minutes of waiting we asked how much longer and we were told another 20 minutes?! because they had multiple orders received via Just Eat. Very disappointing that Just Eat Orders take priority in front of clients who are actually sitting and waiting at the table.
Anca M — Google review
Very friendly owner, well looked after including our dog! Yes the coffee pot is very dog friendly! Fantastic breakfast at a great price highly recommended
Justin S — Google review
Superb dog friendly cafe. Breakfast was fantastic, very friendly service, would recommend and return.
Malcolm B — Google review
We visit the coffee pot quite regularly and usually the food and service are excellent. Unfortunately on our last visit something was amiss. We ordered two egg florentine, our usual go to, which is usually delicious. This visit however the food took 40 minutes to arrive, was cold, the poached eggs were boiled and the bread on the bottom was hard. I can only imagine there was someone new in the kitchen. It won't stop us visiting again, I just hope it's back to the usual high standard we're used to.
Peter M — Google review
It's a normal English working class cafe. Nothing special. Normally I love these sort of cafes but the staff here were pretty unknowledgeable. They didn't even know where the meat was sourced. They were however very friendly. The food was pretty good. Great prices.

First time I've had a proper cooked breakfast for under a tenner in years. Great food, friendly service, decent coffee. Everything you can ask for at a cafe. There were also GF and veggie options available. Bang on!

Sagor Tandoori is a delightful gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're picking up a takeaway or enjoying a meal on-site, the food consistently impresses with its freshness and flavor. Guests rave about the delicious curries, fresh poppadoms, and well-prepared biryanis. The atmosphere is inviting, complete with a cozy bar area where you can relax while waiting for your meals.
An absolute delight to done here last night with my wife. The customer service is second to none:The waiters and waitresses were polite, professional and extremely helpful. The food is simply gorgeous. We cannot wait to visit again.
The H — Google review
Pretty good here, I'm from London and usually don't rate Indian restaurants when on holiday but this one was rather nice. Food was good and service was very good. They were happy to change menu items to suit us as vegetarians. Reasonable priced and a nice looking restaurant. I would definitely come back.
William C — Google review
We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to go out for a meal, at Sagor, as it is only a short walk from our house. We are new in town and had never eaten there so we went with some apprehension as, even which good reviews, a new restaurant doesn’t always agree with your palate. We need not have worried! Best curry I have ever had! The poppadoms were fresh and the pickles were tasty. My curry was fresh and delicious, and my husband’s chicken biriani was excellent. The staff were lovely, polite, and professional, and the restaurant is clean and pleasantly decorated. We’ll most certainly be back!
A R — Google review
What a pity. We've been eating here (mostly takeaway) for more than a decade, but unfortunately the time has come to try somewhere new. For the past 3 takeaways, they have left something out. The first time it was onion bhajis, second time it was the mint dip, the third time (last weekend) it was an entire naan bread. We live in a rural hamlet and drive for 20 minutes to get this takeaway, so it's just not feasible to return, and not much point calling them as we come here perhaps 6 times a year. Perhaps our mistake for not checking the bag each and every time, but it shouldn't really be on us. I had found my favourite curry, but the portion size has definitely been getting smaller, and the prices have been steadily increasing. For a main course for two people, 1 portion of rice, 2 naan (only 1 in the bag) 2 poppadums and a dip, it came to nearly £40. I appreciate costs are increasing, but we can't justify it any more. I know we're not the only people to feel like this as my dad was on first-name-terms with them, and following another mediocre takeaway, as opted for a different establishment. It has been a lovely place in the past, and the quality is generally good - but the portion sizes, cost, and forgetfulness means it's no longer worthwhile. Sorry. I wish them luck though.
Arthur A — Google review
Having read the reviews i went to Sagor. Had two people running it including take aways. We waited for 45 min for our starters. No one asked for refils for our drinks and our empty plates just piled up. The waiter seems to be an arse (the guy). Shame seems to be a nice setup. The table next to us was left dirty for 45min. Still waiting for my main course may be here by xmas. On our way out we were told a staff member had left. It would have been nice if we knew when we sat down.
JLF — Google review
The food looked lovely upon getting it home . Unfortunately the taste of it was not up to scratch at all . The chicken balti was tasteless and the tarka dahl has pieces of raw onion floating around . However, nice onion bhajis !
Nomethee — Google review
Not a warm welcome. Felt like we were intruding on a staff meeting. The waiter referred to my party as guys when clearly 2 of us were ladies. I asked the waiter not to address us in that manor. 3/4 of an hour later when the food came he did it again. Other restaurants are available locally.

Popped in for lunch on the way to do a big shop, first time here and it's definitely a hidden gem! Tucked at the back of an industrial/retail park, adjoining Maunder's farm shop, you could easily miss it. Cod, chips and peas was freshly cooked and served piping hot with the fish flaking beautifully underneath the crisp batter. Apparently the homemade meat and potato pie, served with roast baby potatoes and veg was delicious too. Prices were very reasonable, and the service was attentive and friendly.

New owner has really put her heart and sole into making this a really friendly environment with great home cooked food. The food was fantastic and the wait was only about 5 - 10 minutes which flew by talking to people we knew. Great atmosphere and well worth a visit. Thank Tam

Really slow for a place that uses a service counter. The lady putting the breakfast together seemed very confused and kept getting distracted. The other 3 staff didn’t help her. I ordered no plum tomatoes but it still got put on my plate. Brown toast but white arrived. She also got the next order wrong despite her colleague telling her 2mins previous. Obviously a bad day for her. Food was tasty though.

Saw this place on Google maps and had some good reviews so why not give it a go and so glad we did. Nice tidy little place, nice atmosphere and very pleasant staff that welcomed and looked after us. The Eagle House Hotel is an elegant establishment situated in an 18th-century townhouse. This stylish hotel offers a bar, a sophisticated restaurant, and picturesque countryside views. Recently, a group encountered difficulties finding accommodations at short notice for a family funeral. Fortunately, their son secured rooms at this well-regarded Georgian house in Launceston. These "classic" rooms were spacious with king-sized beds and well-equipped shower facilities. The windows offered breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape.
I stayed one night in a twin room with my mum. It is a lovely quiet location next to the old castle grounds and with a stunning view from the back terrace. For ease we ate at the hotel in the evening and it was a quiet laid back meal (with a very tasty vegan option). The hotel may not regularly have vegan guests (?) but having mentioned it on our booking, they went the extra distance the next day to ensure I had a vegan option for breakfast and to point out what I could eat. They had even bought vegan yoghurt just for me. The service was really great and friendly, and the staff genuinely wanted to make sure our specific needs were met.
Emma D — Google review
What a lovely hotel with fantastic staff who were so helpful and friendly. The outside areas were really nice with fantastic views. The castle is right next door. The restaurant served great food and was well presented and brilliant prices. The rooms were the superior ones and were very comfortable and lovely and clean. It was really quiet too. Its a lovely old hotel and I would definitely stay again and totally recommend this place.

I stopped over on a business trip and I can't honestly find any issues. The food was lovely on my night and a good sized portion - to the point i couldn't manage pudding (though they looked lovely). The location is quite picturesque - though get ready to drive up hill (and if the parking spaces at the front are taken there is further parking further along). All in all a lovely experience
Mike S — Google review
The hotel hosted the reception for mine and my husband's wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Terry. She was an absolute star. So happy that we got to have the reception at such a historic hotel as well!
Jayce T — Google review
Had a wedding buffet and 2 nights stay here and I can't thank them enough. The room was perfect and the staff were so patient and helpful with all my questions and emails in the run up. Really helped make the best day of our lives incredible. Terri in particular was amazing, never made me feel silly for all my questions, was there for whatever we needed on the day and even posted our cake board back to us personally when we'd left it behind which I really appreciated. Already talking about coming back for our anniversary, thank you guys so much for an incredible wedding day.
Harry N — Google review
Very disappointed with the rooms. We had booked in advance and paid for a double room based on their pictures as it seemed like a lovely hotel to stay while visiting family. You will find photos of what was advertised vs what we got. We were shoved into the upstairs loft with very gross carpeting that went right through the bathroom too (many stains in the carpeting around the toilet… it’s so unhygienic). The whole room was scruffy with very worn out furniture, wires dangling from the TV etc. The bathroom is very dated and NOT at all like the photos advertised. The room, being in the ceiling basically, was SO HOT with only one small window that could only open 10cm. There was a small fan provided, but that just circulated the same hot humid air around the room. It felt like we were in a hostel room in a boarding house. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. A single rash of bacon?, a single sausage, single egg etc. On our way down in the morning I managed to get a glimpse into one of the other double rooms (the same rate room I had booked and paid for), and it was a FAR cry from the room we had been given. Either we were shoved into a room far below what we had paid for, or they only have one decent room that they’ve taken photos of for their site and it’s a roll of the dice to see if you get that? While the staff are friendly and lovely, based on the state of the hotel itself I would certainly not return, and have warned our family and friends in the area not to recommend the hotel to their guests or family in future.
Chelsea P — Google review
On the whole the 2 night stay across 3 rooms booked were ok Felt like some rooms had been renovated while others were still waiting decorating Most staff very accommodating and hardworking but the meal service was very slow one night (we had pre ordered meal choice before arriving) and had to ask to get table cleared, but great service the next night, feel meal prices were on high side. Unfortunately the late check out organised for one of our rooms was ignored despite speaking to staff before and at check in and being assured it was confirmed, also wasn’t aware dogs could stay & disturb other guests sleep but got call warning if event that finished at 8pm ? Odd!

Lanson Kebab House is a delightful culinary gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. On my first visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the beautifully presented dishes that were not greasy at all. Even after walking home with my meal, it remained piping hot! The delivery service is equally commendable; I had a minor hiccup with online payment, but the staff were incredibly patient and helpful in resolving it without any hassle.
This was my first time going there and I thought the food was beautiful I would recommend it to anyone, it's not greasy at all, also when got it back was still hot and that was by walking not driving.

Food is always good that's why I only have it from this place but tonight was the worst ever extra large combination kebab I've ever had plus fries. Kebab might as well had a small one. Chips very very soggy normally they're very very crispy. Piss poor tonight.Somebody else must be cooking, get a grip and keep to consistency please , I'm strict , else I'll be going elsewhere.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful bakery experience, Greggs is a must-visit! This popular chain offers an impressive selection of freshly baked breads, savory snacks, sandwiches, and sweet treats that cater to both breakfast and lunch cravings. Located conveniently in Pennygillam Industrial Estate, it's the perfect pit stop for those on the go. The friendly staff at Greggs truly enhance your visit; they remember regulars' orders and greet everyone with warm smiles.
Come here often and it's always great - staff are always friendly and a great range of food available, both in the morning and for lunch. Great value for money. Coffees are always nice too. The lady who served us recently with the blue hair gave great service - she was very friendly and made my latte with plenty of cream, tasted lovely :)

This is the only Greggs I have been to where the "Hot Food" is that cold first thing in the morning that is definitely not fresh and is never hot. The most disappointing Greggs I've ever been to. Giving the staff training would resolve the issue as the location is perfect
Craig C — Google review
Usual Greggs quality and value. Open 7 days a week till 6pm. Plenty of parking, just off of the A30 so easy for a quick stop. Note-- don't moan about how hot the food is as they don't keep it warm so they don't have to charge you the hot food tax ! Just luck if the pies have just come out of the oven!! ♨️

Lovely staff! I come here often for lunch or before work and they remember me and know what coffee I usually order. Always kind and polite and meet me with a smile! I wish I remembered their names but I know Yeneva. She is really nice and a little chat with her in the morning makes my day. Started coming here since Costa got ridiculously expensive and I don’t regret switching.
JM P — Google review
Dear Greg's, do yourself a favour and sack your staff at this establishment for ones that want to uphold your normally excellent service and food quality. Not only was the service extremely slow the attitude of the staff was disgusting. After 20mins of waiting, moving out of the way of staff members who don't say excuse me or thank, I walked out with a hot drink only. I asked for a chicken Bake ( circa 9 on display), to be told they are not warm! I asked for a Steak Bake (circa 6 on display), to be told they are not warm. I asked if any thing was warm? to be told nope. I ordered a coffee and walked out with other waiting customers leaving with me without ordering. 3 staff members, one with no customer interaction skills and felt it acceptable to still sell food that was not hot (Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 and the Food Safety Act 1990), one walking around with very little interest to adding any value, and one sat with her feet on a seat watching it all fail. Unless things change I won't use this place nor will I recommend it. If it improves, I will retract this review and write a noone which I truly hope is an improvement. Sorry Greg's.

Well I went there for a bacon and egg roll the girl behind the counter was nice enough maybe they should call this roll the Lewis hammalton roll because I spent the night sitting on my bathroom floor with it coming out of me at 100 miles an hour the toilet is a lonely place at 3 am my poor misses had to put up my this all night it's her I feel sorry for I'm not the best when I'm ilna bit of a wimp really but I'm sure you can understand the sound of me screening here we go again maybe entertaining for my neighbour thinking the big bloke next door is at it again but now we all know the truth I love you jem and sorry but it was Gregg's fault not mine

We were fortunate to have Sally and Dave cater our wedding, so we eagerly visited their restaurant. All expectations were blown away by the exceptional quality and flavors of the food, surpassing several Michelin-starred establishments we've tried in Devon. Our evening was fantastic, and locals are fortunate to have such a gem nearby! Highly recommend a visit.

We were passing through on the way to St Ives and stopped here for a bite to eat. It was getting pretty late but they managed to fit us in. The food was great where I had a very tasty jack fruit burger. The chips were amazing!

Only gave atmosphere 3 as there weren't many people using the restaurant. Sally and Dave were excellent, I had the ribs, which I recommend, and the wife had the chicken burger, and it was excellent. You need to visit this place as it's well worth it. We will be back.

Our first visit to this recently opened restaurant in Launceston, what a gem. A fairly small menu but every item is lovingly cooked and presented. Our party of 4 went for 3 lamb and 1 monkfish as main courses….all fantastic. Atmosphere and staff warm and friendly. Good selection of wines. Would recommend Restaurant G’s highly….lucky Launceston, hope the locals support this new venture and the special events.

Had a great meal here with my mum one evening and was told they would be ok with dogs in the bar area. I came with my dog just to have a drink and the bar was empty, I mentioned the dog and the lady replied dogs are ok downstairs in the bar then quickly changed her mind and said we don't allow dogs here. Not sure why but I found it rude

We start order only from Yummies after we try and see all the takeaway shops in town 🍕🍔 Pizza and kebab are just amazing, staff -very friendly people aways smile 😃. Cleanless- After we try and see all the takeaway shops I would say Yummies not make any compromise with hygiene-very clean place . Costa Coffee is a popular coffee chain known for its counter-service offering of hot drinks, iced coolers, sweet snacks, and sandwiches. The ambiance is described as nice and clean with friendly baristas. While the coffee and cakes are praised for their quality, some customers have raised concerns about cleanliness in certain areas like the toilets. However, the staff receives high praise for being helpful, polite, and accommodating to all customers, including those with learning disabilities.
Our family use this Costa fairly regularly and we always enjoy ourselves. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We usually arrive first thing in the morning and there is often just one member of staff on duty. If it gets busy then there is a wait but they work hard and do the best they can on their own. The hot drinks are always good and made as quickly as possible. The inside is spacious compared to many I have been in and the toilets are always clean when we get there early in the morning. Can't comment on the food as we only buy drinks when we go there. Would definitely recommend this place.
Purple A — Google review
Paid nearly £25 to sit in but it was all served on take-away materials. The drinks were served in take-away cups, the toasties without plates just corrugated cardboard and the cake slice was on a paper bag. Cake choice was limited to carrot cake with a sign saying supply issues. Not the cozy cafe relaxation we were looking for.
Ferdi A — Google review
This Costa is ok. However, on the website it states they close at 5:30 when they close at 5pm. I was asked to leave last week having looked up their closing time so be aware. The staff asked me to edit the details on Google, which I have now done.

A traditional local pub with a very friendly welcome and a good range of alcoholic and soft drinks. They were doing breakfast and lunches when I visited but not evening meals, possibly due to it still being outside the tourist season. The store is clean, tidy and well stocked. There is a good range of products, all of superior quality and great value. We won't entertain shopping anywhere else and the fact that Okehampton has, what could be classed as a competing supermarket but we still travel to Launceston must say something about how good M & S Launceston is. Thank you!

Since we love the quality of M&S we headed there for our shopping. And as usual it did not disappoint. High quality food for fair prices. Nicely set store, friendly staff. Bought some water, Prosecco, soda, bread, veggies, beef and pork steaks, samosas and a nice cheese board. For tonights dinner and the next. Especially the aged beef steaks are very enjoyable. Nice flavour, tender, juicy. And the cheese selection if very nice as well. Another good shopping at Marks & Spencer. We will be back.

The sauces that came with the fish and chips were homemade too! Service was fast and very friendly. And best of all dogs are welcome. ~ Edit: £5 for an Appetiser was a bit much tho!

A lovely cosy place for eating or popping in for a drink, friendly local community and the staff provided an excellent service, the food was delicious and full of flavour and portion sizes are also great. Really good value for money and filling meal.

Just the best Sunday lunch I have ever had at a pub. Lovely place, super friendly staff, amazing food, reasonable prices, dog friendly. Gutted we live so far away as we would be regulars. Don’t hesitate, go!

Came for a birthday dinner just the two of us. The pub itself is very nicely decorated and the staff were really friendly. We were seated in what seemed to be an old fireplace, which felt very claustrophobic, but staff were happy to move us with no trouble! The food was okay. For the prices we paid, I’d have expected a lot better. We both had steak - I requested it medium and it definitely was more on the well done side. Shame, as the flavour was decent, but being overcooked it was quite dry. Overall, it’s a perfectly decent pub but I wouldn’t be rushing to return. We had planned on getting desserts but after the mid-tier mains, we thought better of it. You’d probably get the same standard of food for much cheaper elsewhere. Shame, as we’d really looked forward to coming here after seeing other reviews!

Had a really lovely meal here with my mum. The staff were unbelievably nice and the food was excellent. The next time we’re in Cornwall we will definitely be visiting again.

Came for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Meat (choice ls from beef, gammon, turkey) was perfectly cooked. Veg was cooked to leave a little bitter of firmness, lovely. However, the gravy is even better. The only part that wasn't perfect for me (and it's only a matter of personal choice, as others in our party prefer them this was) was the potatoes as I like mine with a crunch - flavour was excellent though. I don't usually do a pud but the apple crumble with custard was calling and was everything you'd want. Lovely constitutional stroll down the grass to the lakes afterwards.

Great pub that really looks the part! We went for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic to say the least. We had two guests who needed gluten free and the meals were excellent! The only thing missing that they couldn't do gluten free for us was the cauliflower cheese or the Yorkshire puddings but overall top notch!

Pub
Restaurant
During our travels through the picturesque regions of Devon and Cornwall, we stumbled upon The Eliot Arms, a charming pub that was a delightful surprise after a long day of exploration. Arriving just before closing time for food, we were warmly welcomed by an incredibly friendly staff member who made us feel right at home. The menu boasted an impressive selection of dishes, and I opted for the beef & coriander curry while my wife savored the steak and ale pie.
Popped over to Launceston today to get some new fish for the tank & decided to stop here for some lunch & wow wow wow is all I can say, from looking at the historic outside looking pub we entered into a proper old pub with nooks & crannies & century years old beams everywhere. Straight away we were greeted by a very welcoming & friendly barmaid plus a token local propping up the bar, which made us feel we want to be here & stop for a while. As we walked through to the bar ordered a top quality pint of Tribute we were then seated & brought some menus whilst gazing at the many artifacts, clocks & pictures on the walls surrounding us. Moving onto the food Dawn opted for the chicken / brie & bacon special which came with 3 types of salad including a normal one, Waldorf style salad & a mild curried pasta one plus some pickled red cabbage, homemade coleslaw & a choice of 4 typy of potatoes (we both went for curly fries). The chicken was nicely char cooked with melted brie & bacon to I thought could of been cooked a bit more crispy but that's my preference & to be honest you get 2 chicken breasts which made up for it. I went for the half chicken which was cooked proper good with a crispy skin but it was still had really juicy meat, served with a BBQ sauce , homemade coleslaw, salad & curly fries & plenty of it so be warned they don't skimp on the portions (definitely value for money). Overall this place is proper gem of a pub to visit with it's charming historical characteristics, great food & of course friendly welcoming staff. 😃😋🍺🍽️👌🏻👍🏻

Holidaying in North Devon and travelling all around. Picked this place out to have our Anniversary meal mainly from the historic look of the place. Great decision too. Place looked fully booked on entry but staff made sure we had somewhere to sit and took our order. Food was plentiful and top notch and staff were pleasant and attentive. Well worth a visit!!

Wow. What an experience!!! A great pub in the old style you hardly find anymore. Inside and out. It’s like a museum and you feel comfortable. A lot to look at. But also the food is great. They serve local dishes from pie to burger to steak or fish. Very tasty and big potions. I couldn’t finish mine. The menu is small, but you could taste it. Also the desserts are delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

While on holiday in Devon and Cornwall, we stumbled across The Eliot Arms on our way back after a long day out. It was getting late, and we were delighted to find this beautiful pub still serving food until 9:00pm - we arrived with only minutes to spare! We were welcomed by a lovely young man who was incredibly friendly and helpful, instantly making us feel at home. The menu and specials board offered a wide range of delicious choices. My wife chose the steak and ale pie, and I opted for the beef & coriander curry. Both were absolutely outstanding - generous portions of beautifully slow-cooked, melt-in-the-mouth beef. In fact, it was the most beef we’ve ever seen in a pie or curry! The service throughout was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the whole experience was truly memorable. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a couple of days later for a meal on our last night – and once again, it was fantastic. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend visiting. Their enviable reputation for freshly prepared, home-cooked food using the best locally sourced produce is very well deserved. We will be back!

Wow. Where do I even start? Me and my friend went here for dinner, expecting a nice meal, but what we got instead was a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. We weren’t shown to our table (apparently that’s too much to ask) and were informed that if we wanted drinks, we’d have to get up and fetch them ourselves from the bar because table service is clearly an optional extra here. The food was… impressive, in all the wrong ways. The pâté was so bland it could’ve been cardboard, and the toast was stone cold. The nachos, however, were the real highlight, absolutely drenched in oil and grease. We even tried soaking some up with napkins, but honestly, I think they were deep-fried in despair. When we complained, the server’s response was a true gem: “What do you want me to do about it?” Fantastic attitude. We asked for a new portion and were told the kitchen refused to make another one. Great teamwork all around! We asked for the manager, who was equally helpful. He took one look and decided “it didn’t look that bad.” Excellent customer service. Michelin-star level delusion. All in all, if you like rude staff, greasy food, and management who couldn’t care less, definitely come here. If you prefer edible food and basic respect, maybe try literally anywhere else.

Tre, Pol & Pen farm shop offers an outstanding full English breakfast that is unparalleled. The sausages are plump, succulent, and impeccably cooked - a true testament to the quality of their produce. The bacon is thick and smoky, bursting with flavor. The mushrooms are generously sized and juicy while the herb-crusted tomatoes add a unique and delicious touch. The staff at Tre, Pol & Pen are incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make customers feel special.
Beautiful setting both outside and inside. Lovely staff and great table service ( if required) Wonderful selection of snacks, quick bites, meals and desserts along with the hot and cold drinks aswell as the alcoholic variety. Also a lovely farm shop, can recommend the sausages and to look at the butchers section. lots of the home made variety ...jams, marmelades, chutneys, bread, quiches to name a just a few. Really worth popping into lovely spot.

Fantastic place!!! Stunning looking as you arrive and the farm shop is really well laid out and looks spotless and clearly very well looked after! We came here for breakfast before leaving to go back to London. Food was so good and nicely presented and very fresh. Coffee was good too. I have bought some goodies from the shop for gifts and I’m sure they’ll be tasty. We also bought a homemade Bakewell tart each to have later with coffee. Oh my!! I would travel back the 193 miles to get another haha. Delicious!!! We also bought a leg of lamb from the butcher and yet to eat that but pretty confident it’ll be good. Well worth a visit!! Wonderful place.

The venue was clean and pleasant. The out door area was well maintained. The staff were attentive. My only complaint was that my meal was barely luke warm. Launceston Fryers has recently undergone a transformation under new ownership, and it’s making waves in the local dining scene. Upon entering, guests are greeted by friendly staff who create an inviting atmosphere. The kitchen team is equally welcoming, ensuring that patrons feel right at home. With a diverse menu that showcases generous portion sizes, diners can expect to enjoy freshly made mushy peas and tartar sauce alongside their meals.
Have heard great things about Launceston Fryers and finally had a chance to try it out. Very friendly staff to greet us as soon as we came in. Staff in the kitchen smiling over the fryers at us. You immediately feel welcome. A good selection of food on offer and staff know the menu inside out, which is always a good sign. Portion sizes are very generous but we were told they're happy to box up any leftovers if we wished. Freshly made mushy peas and tartar sauce. Children's portions available, again generous size. Food took a little while but not too long, just proving it's all cooked to order. It was pretty busy considering it was mid afternoon on an awful, rainy day. Music playing in the background was top notch! Excellent taste in music! Loud enough to hear but quiet enough to still have a good conversation, even with the chatter of everyone else dining in. Launceston Fryers certainly lives up to the hype.

Well done keep doing what you’re doing as it’s perfect.

My husband and I have been eating at the Launceston fryer for 25 years! We have seen changes of ownership and different menus over the years and were very upset when it closed down. But then we were thrilled that it had been revamped and resurrected as a traditional fish and chip cafe. We have used the cafe sitting in three times now since it has reopened and these are our honest findings. On our first visit we were very disappointed, the fish and chips left a lot to be desired, the cod seemed barely cooked and the chips were lukewarm, but we figured they were still finding their feet. 2nd visit was slightly better and we felt they should be onto a winner. Well we can honestly say that yesterday we had the best fish and chips we have eaten in a long time, the cod was cooked perfectly with delicious crispy batter, and the chips were nice and hot with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and softness in the middle. Absolutely delicious! I would say they’ve cracked it and we’ll certainly be back and hope to enjoy many more chippy lunches at the Launceston fryer. My only criticism would be that my husband would prefer a pot of tea rather than just a small cup! Keep up the good work and I’m sure you’ll be successful.

Sun Wah, a Chinese takeaway in Launceston, offers top-notch cuisine and has a friendly staff. Their signature "Lemon Chicken" is unparalleled as they serve the sauce separately, ensuring that the chicken remains crispy until you bring it home. In fact, it might just be the best takeaway meal you've ever had! From their delectable Duck to their delightful Sweet Sour Pork and Black Bean Beef, every dish is outstanding. My friends and I visited on holiday and ordered a variety of dishes for dinner. We were served by a friendly Cornish woman, but were greatly relieved when the door to the kitchen opened and we saw several Chinese people sweating away in the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed the crispy beef and the beef curry; the egg fried rice was also up to scratch as were the prawn crackers (which, as expected, were free). However, the general consensus was that the chicken and prawn chow mein should not be served even to one’s worst enemies. The spring rolls were also poor - they could have been frozen items that one can buy from the frozen section at Tesco. The chicken satay was mediocre - the sauce was fairly average but the chicken was a bit chewy. The sweet and sour chicken balls were acceptable as were the chips. However, the curry sauce aided the redemption of many dishes - it was fantastic. It must be mentioned that the dishes were reasonably priced, leaving us slightly disappointed but not outraged as overall the experience was fairly neutral. If I were to return, I would avoid the chow mein at all costs and choose my dishes carefully.

The distillery also offers an array of spirits, jams, and sauces for purchase. Afterward, guests can enjoy a scrumptious cream tea in the charming cafe.
We visited the distillery today for a tour, we had a voucher as a present. Really enjoyed learning about the process and how the company was established. Great selections of gin, vodka, and rum. We tried a lot of them and ended up with a bottle of salted caramel vodka, although the chocolate chilli vodka was very nice too! Beautiful establishment and staff all lovely. I would definitely return. It was a great afternoon out. Just make sure you have a designated driver! 😁

We booked a group of 6 for the distillery tour, booked a hotel room each at the nearby golf centre, and paid £40 for return taxis. Then, on arrival at the distillery, I was told sorry it's all been cancelled as we've got a wedding booked for today. An apology but no offer of reimbursement for hotels or taxis just a waffle that it wasn't their fault it was the old managers fault, you should have been called. All in all, between my wife and I and our friends, the trip cost us in excess of £350 plus expenses all for nothing. It's an absolute disgrace for it to happen, no call, no email, just waffle that it's someone else's fault. See ya!! The local taxi driver was enraged and asked about compensation for at least the taxi cost. The female manager point blank said no, not up to us and walked away. It was her dads business, and she was running the place for the day, but sorry, not sorry now you can leave. Absolutely disgraceful and no offer of a free tour or anything not rhat I would bother going back and with an attitude like they have and a business model like they have I'd advise everyone to swerve the place. The taxi driver said she would be putting it out there about their attitude and tell people visiting the area to swerve this place. With an attitude like this and a business model like they have and reviews from disgruntled customers like me, my wife and the other 4 people business won't last.

Subway is a laid-back, counter-service eatery that invites you to craft your own sandwiches and salads just the way you like them. With a focus on health-conscious choices, this popular chain allows you to customize your meal with fresh ingredients and flavorful toppings. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty sub or a crisp salad, Subway has something to satisfy every palate while keeping wellness in mind. It's an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy delicious food without compromising on nutrition!
A long time a go this used to be my favourite place as a teen to go to after school or out with friends but now this place is a hole. It hasn't had any maintenance for years if not decades. The menu is all but non existent, there is so little to choose from yet the displays still show items that are no longer on sale. But worst of all the staff that work there are slow, certainly not trained and just rude. On today's visit there were 3 members of staff. One lady was making all the subs while a younger girl walked around occasionally helping with salad but not often and then another young girl stood at the till doing nothing. This caused a back log of people making the queue build up fast. Once at the till the girl was visibly dirty and lacking in hygiene sense, stood and had no idea what to do. We request a child's meal and she stood with a blank state until we requested all the parts of the box. None of the staff knew the menu properly or how to make the subs. It was an absolute disaster and I won't ever go back again. My advice, hire new staff because these ones ain't the ones for you.

Went in to grab some food on our journey home. The young lady serving was a treasure but the only person there on a very busy day in the Easter hols. She was absolutely run off her feet but served us so nicely. Maybe with better pay this franchise wouldn't have such a staffing issue. Would think that it's also a health and safety issue to have lone workers. Franchise owner needs to step up and actually work there if they don't have staff available.

The worst subway I've ever visited. Stopped here as a treat, but will never visit again. If you want a lesson on how to really not give any shizes, you'd get a master class from the girl who was on shift this Sunday afternoon - wow! And talk about a cold, unloved and unwelcoming atmosphere. Waited a few minutes for anyone to come out to serve, and the service felt so uncomfortable that I nearly walked out after just being greeted and asked what I wanted, but I was too hungry so endured it. There was no guacamole, offered sauce or nothing as a substitute. Medicore sub, made with zero love, care, or attention Never again.

Not the best experience. Despite no customers, we had to wait a while to be served. The staff member was beyond slow and yawning throughout. After making the food, he left for a few minutes without giving the food or taking payment. Several parts of the order were wrong. The staff member had the appearance of being unhygienic as well which was off putting when they are making the food. Will not be returning. Additionally, the bathroom was disgusting and did not seem as it had been cleaned in a while.

Although they primarily accept cash, there are alternative payment options available for those who prefer card transactions. The staff is friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances your dining experience.
Had a lovely meal at Panda! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and polite, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and everything came out piping hot and full of flavor. Definitely recommend this place, and I’d happily come back again if I’m in the area on holiday.

The food was great my go to (crispy shredded beef) was great the special fried rice was ok .(Not a lot made it special) But overall great place sadly atmosphere was lacking due to no other diners in the restaurant area which on a Friday night is interesting but I think a heck of a lot of people eat at home nowadays..

Had a lovely Chinese takeaway, great choices and prices are fairly reasonable for a Chinese takeaway. Decent portion sizes! The wait can be a bit long if you don't order in advance but it's worth it, mostly cash only but there are ways to pay with a card if you don't do cash. The seats in the bar area are plenty and you can get a drink while you wait!

There was nothing really wrong with the food here, it just wasn't for me. I ordered online for delivery and it was really fast delivery. I've ordered from Panda House twice now and and the style of food is not my type. I gave it a second try in case the first order was just my "bad ordering". All of the meat comes in a light batter and covered in incredibly sweet sauces. I ordered duck last night and it came battered. For me, as duck is greasy anyway and the skin needs to be crispy, coating it in batter is a mistake. The insanely sweet sauces are too much for me as well. I ordered spicy dishes and the sweetness took over the chili resulting in no spiciness at all. The noodles were well cooked, not soggy at all and the best part of what I ordered. Having tried twice now I will not be ordering from here again. As I said, this is down to my personal tastes. Looking at the 4.4 star reviews, there are a lot of people who enjoyed Panda House, just not for me. Edit after owner response: Thank you for taking the time to respond. Perhaps I'll give you another go and pop in and have a chat this time. Good luck for the future! Hope to see you trading for many years to come.

This is one of the best Chinese meals I have had for many years outside of London! Lovely food and great staff can’t wait to go again. No where comes close to it in Launceston. I used to like the Golden bowl for take away before it closed which was very good. The other one close by only had a score of 1 on the health and clean ratings so I would not go near it!!!
Anthony K — Google review
Nice restaurant, not very warm, and they only take cash, so be prepared. There seemed to be very few staff, one of whom was polite but maybe new and a bit vague. We had to ask for our order to be taken, but once it was, the food came quickly and was hot and tasty. The menu is extensive and includes Thai dishes, but all dishes are over £10 each and depending on what you order, some are way bigger than others. Overall, it was nice and I may try it again.

Buddhas Kitchen is a cafe that offers a welcoming atmosphere and enjoyable plant-based meals. Customers can visit with their family members and choose from dishes like BLT, Buddha bowl, and falafel. The flat whites made with oat milk are particularly remarkable, providing a smooth and hot coffee experience. The Buddha bowl stands out for its delightful dressings and overall deliciousness, especially the flavorful falafel.
The staff was very helpful and kind. Food was great I'm not a huge fan of vegan food but this place made me think different. Very cosy and nice atmosphere. It was a bit costly but totally worth the food quality. We came here for a holiday and we hadn't slept all night the staff understood and we're extremely helpful and funny. We brought our dog and they were also great with him. Thank you for the experience :)

Friendly service and delicious wholesome feel good vegan food. Cool music and a relaxing vibe. I would highly popping in for breakfast, brunch, lunch or a coffee and a cake. Try the rainbow buddha bowl and banana coffee smoothie they were both delicious.

I came in with my mum and my nan, they ordered a BLT and Buddha bowl and I ordered a Buddha bowl with falafel, to start off the flat whites were absolutely stunning, the best oat milk flat white I've ever had and I work as a barista in a coffee shop myself, the coffee was smooth and the coffee was hot, the froth smooth too. The Buddha bowl was absolutely stunning, the dressings were lovely, everything was so so tasty and don't even get me started on the falafel. I would 100% recommend you go here, service is top notch and so is all the food!

Really excellent food and what is more the staff are warm friendly and so human ! There is a really good atmosphere and energy about the place, which compliments the first class vegan food. A really good place to eat even if you are a carnivore or vegetarian. I have eaten totally delicious lentil soup, had am amazing Buddha Bowl, and also an Indian style curry. Also do try the mushroom coffee which was a novelty. Highly recommended.

Delicious vegan big breakfast, coffee and cakes. Really nice owners and staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Great location in Launceston, a few minutes off the A30, we'll be popping in for breakfast or lunch each time we come and go on our hols to Cornwall.

Eat meat? Don't eat meat? Just eat! Here! It's brilliant. The customer service is next to none, the interaction, the décor, the place is stunning and then there's the food, the awesome breakfast, the coffee and the yummy cake. The best place to eat AM and PM. A hidden gem, seriously. Give your body a treat and eat this lush, delicious, non artery clogging gorgeousness! One of the loveliest places, run with heart and soul.

Portions are good sizes and the food is tasty. We got a "fish finger" wrap, a couple salad bowls and quesadillas along with some drinks and smoothies. They also have a small shop with vegan toiletries and some deserts.

Visited this restaurant while touring Cornwall and was very happy to find it serving halal food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was excellent, and everything was clean and well-presented. I’d rate everything 5 stars, except the food which I’d give 4 stars — it was delicious and fresh, but I personally prefer a bit more spice. If it had that extra kick, it would easily be a full 5 stars for me.
Ashfaq T — Google review
We had a very nice meal with attentive staff. The best tasting meal we have had within a 5 mile radius of Launceston. The kitchen seemed very busy preparing take aways which showed how popular it is and unfortunately, probably explains the negative reviews on late delivery's
Chris M — Google review
Excellent food that tasted lovely however the general atmosphere was ruined a bit by quite a lot of flies and when the door to the kitchen was opened i could see a lot of food all over the floor and around the stoves which was quite off putting and looked very unhygienic. This mess was not cleaned up during our long meal. Despite this the food was very good though.

I go all over the country and further and I always test every restaurant like this to test them for there hottest dish , And they made or with great care and what the people want Very aromatic dishe, succulent meats in the dish and out, they didn't have what I wanted on the menu so I asked them for it which was a very spicy dish and they made better then the standards what was wanted 5 stars all around . Give the chef a shout out well done must try !
Adam F — Google review
Came here today as I had yet to try this new (new to me) restaurant in town, looks nice and clean with plenty of room for patrons to eat in. I did not hear music playing which is why the atmosphere is st 4 stars. Ordered the Afghani Lamb with a tikka starter with other standard accompaniments; rice, naan, pickles etc. Came with some popadom, i suppose because it was over a certain amount of money, a welcomed addition. The naan was nicely toasted in the tandoor, a lot thicker than I was anticipating which at first I was surprised by, but then I remembered I like bread so what's the fuss about. I would have liked to have seen 2 naan to a portion with the amount of dough used as its a little stodgy, but bread is bread. I ordered garlic naan and I could see the pieces, but there was minimal flavour to them. Perhaps they use pickled garlic or cooked ones. Fresh garlic would provide more of a zing. A garnish of coriander would've been welcomed also The rice was well cooked and tender, but the occasional coloured grain wasn't appreciated. It confuses me as to why one would put food colouring in what is an already vibrantly colourful cuisine. I may be alone on this, but I try to avoid foods that look radioactive with how coloured they have been (not to imply this restaurant does so). An example i see too often is Raita. It looks refreshing in its natural colours, but avoidable when dyed to neon green. After proofreading back through this, I tried the Raita given to me and it tastes great and looks slightly mustard. Better than neon for sure. The starter was very flavourful, but the seekh kebab was a little too ground for my preference. It was similar to foam, when a fine mince was expected. Still tasted nice but texturally was a little uncomfortable. Perhaps this is how its traditionally done, but I was anticipating more of a köfte feel. Finally, the Afghan Lamb. It smelled very peppery, almost a kashmir or aleppo scent which was what I was hoping for. It had a deep red, almost charred look to it. The look and smell enticed me to have a bite, but I was met with a very sweet, almost fruity flavour. It was not at all what I was looking for when trying this new dish. I could taste a bit of freshness from green herbs, as well as some typical Indian flavours such as onion, garlic and maybe some cumin, but the sweetness of the dish was overpowering the other flavours and became difficult to determine each ingredient after each bite. Theres a nice heat throughout, The meat was tender but teetering on chewy. To combat the flavour profile, I had an Asahi, a super dry beer which paired nicely to balance the sweetness of the dish. I had bought this main with hopes of experiencing a fusion of arab and Indian cuisine, but was met with something i would expect to see in a Chinese takeaway. I pigged out and spent £30, but anyone with a reasonably sized stomach, or eyes proportionate to their stomach, would be full on half that price. Despite my dissapointment with the Afghani Lamb, I will absolutely try this place again. Perhaps next time I will call in and ask for recommendations rather than leaving it to chance and my own research. After all, every chef has their different methods and styles. My only suggestions would be to make the Afghani Lamb more like what one would expect from Arab food, use fresh garlic for the garlic naan for the added garlic kick and down it down a bit with the oil as that is my only regret when eating Indian food

I ordered from Launceston Tandoori and was told my food would arrive at 6:00pm. It didn’t turn up until 7:10pm. I had to phone the restaurant around 8 times chasing it up, and every time they told me it was “7 minutes away” – clearly not true. To make things worse, at 7:00pm the delivery driver called and asked me to walk and meet him 10 minutes away from my address! By the time I finally got the food, it was cold. I contacted the restaurant to ask for a refund given the delay and poor service, but they refused. Absolutely appalling customer service and I won’t be ordering from here again.

Where is the best Indian restaurant in north Cornwall? Well, it could be right here. The food was bursting with authentic flavour, perfectly spiced and clearly made with care. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt genuinely special. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great meal out or a takeaway!

Spectacular! Definitely lived up to its name with lots of local positive reviews. It was a truly fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The bacon cheeseburger was a delight – succulent, well-seasoned meat (from Philip warrens butchers) complemented perfectly by onion, lettuce, mayo, and barbecue sauce. The piggy deluxe fries were a delicious side, and the portion size was so generous we couldn't quite finish it. The customer service was top-notch, with the owner even checking in on us. Overall, a must-visit spot for delicious food and great service! *my partner & I agreed that it was the best burger we’ve ever had 🍔 x

Ordered the you melt burger tonight and was met with a black crunchy block with no mozzarella in. I phoned up and overheard them say “oh that one” down the phone. They did end up replacing the burger but would’ve been nice to eat it with the rest of my meal without the hassle.

Native burger was recommended to us by a local Launceston business and we were not left disappointed! We tried a broad range of items from the menu as a group. "Finger Licking Chicken" burger: Universally declared the star of the meal. The chicken was tender and full of flavour, earning its name. "You Melt" burger: Enjoyable, but didn’t quite outshine other options. "Twisted Fire Starter" burger: Solid, spicy, and satisfying for those who enjoy a kick. "Bacon Double Cheese" burger: Well complimented by the consumer, mainly due to the own-brand BBQ sauce. "Blue Steel" burger: Commended for its delicious flavour combinations. This was a nice burger that strays from your standard. To accompany the mains, we ordered the "You Melt" fries and the "Piggy Deluxe" fries. While toppings were tasty and satisfying, the fries themselves were unremarkable. Improved fries could truly elevate the meal. Food arrived an hour ahead of the quoted time, which was a pleasant surprise. Delivery was smooth, and our order was accurate. The meal represented good value for money considering the quality and portion sizes. I would definitely order from Native again. For those deciding between menu options, The Finger Licking Chicken burger stands out as a must-try by our consensus!
Eva A — Google review
Picked up a takeaway from Native Burger and honestly, the hype must be coming from their PR team, not the kitchen. One of us ordered a burger, the other the halloumi burger. The problem? Their wrapping style. Everything’s scrunched on top and crushed underneath, so by the time we opened it at home, the halloumi had fully evacuated the bun. A halloumi burger minus the halloumi is just… bread. The chips? Missed the mark. The burgers? Sad, squashed, forgettable. The highlight of the meal? The mac and cheese. And the kicker? We literally watched them shove it in the microwave while we were waiting at the counter. When your best dish comes reheated at 800 watts, that’s not what I’d call a “flavour adventure.” Native Burger might get the local media love, but for us, this branch was more “sad desk lunch” than foodie find. If this is an adventure, I’ll stick to Netflix and toasties.

Wow, highly recommend Native Burger! We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Luke and his staff from the time we went in until we left. Nothing was too much trouble, the service was friendly and super fast. The food was brought out promptly both piping hot and looking amazing. And, they tasted as delicious as they looked! Best burgers we’ve ever had, both the beef ones and the chicken one, plus the chips were extra yummy too with great seasoning. Highly recommend this place for dining in or taking away. We will definitely visit again 😃

We are down for a holiday and our host and everyone local recommended this place and it was definitely worth all the fuss. We had it delivered and it was amazing! Highly recommend eating from here! Ordering online was incredibly easy and one of my children has a dairy allergy and it was felt with amazingly.
Andrew B — Google review
The staff were friendly, but unfortunately we were not happy with the food. The chicken burger didn't taste great as the outer coating was burnt tasting and very oiling, and the chips were inedible due to them being really oily as well. It looks like we were just unlucky , but on letting the staff know , although he agreed didn't refund us for any of it , a shame really.
Kel M — Google review
Traveling with an allergy is not easy. But the Native Burger Team made sure we were safe, checking all ingredients and delivering a juicy, sumptuous burger and crispy fries for a perfect end to a long day. We’d happily come by again anytime!

I arrived to collect my order of two pizzas. One of my pizzas had accidentally been taken by a driver and this meant only half of my order was in the shop! Fortunately the staff were super willing to help and extremely friendly about it. Apologised profusely, and cooked me two new pizzas, giving me the one still in the shop for free, then bringing them out to the car to me when ready. We all make mistakes, and this was an amazing way to handle it from staff who clearly care and have high standard for quality and customer service. Would absolutely order from here again. Oh, pizza tastes great too.

Ordered large pizza, got back to eat and couldn't believe how thin the pizza was. I placed a £1 coin to show the coin was higher in height, absolutely disgusted. I can only imagine management want this, which will save money, but long term will close the store as people won't reorder.

I recently had the delightful opportunity to dine at Kathmandu Nepalese and Indian Cuisine in Launceston, where I was transported straight to the vibrant culinary landscapes of Nepal and India. The restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by friendly staff who are eager to guide you through their diverse menu. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the authentic Gurkhali chicken, which offered a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors.
We stopped here on our way home from the coast on a Sunday late evening. The restaurant was very quiet, just us. The service was friendly and the food was good quality and generous portions. Good value and we were well nourished for our onward journey.

We were looking for somewhere to eat whilst in Launceston so we called in to Kathmandu. They were very friendly and welcoming and our food was lovely and very tasty I also enjoyed a Nepalese beer. I would definitely recommend.

We got there around 3 PM. They were running slightly late in opening the resturant but showed open on Google maps. We almost left thinking that the opening times on google were incorrect. The manager apologised for running late. We had the whole resturant to ourselves. Food was absolutely lovely and freshly made. Took around 40 minutes for the main course to be ready but we had some starters and drinks to fill the time. It tasted well. The serving size was very generous for Tandoori chicken and we had to get the remaining food packed. The prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend this place.

Nice place to have Indian cuisine. For vegetarians, they have got some good variety to order from. We especially liked momos and the dip it comes with. Paneer and Dhal Tadka were also nice. The staff is very friendly and and also provided some pickles n sliced onions on request. We visited the restaurant based on Google reviews while in Cornwall for vacation and would rate the same. 4stars for food (not what you get back home in India but still close) and 5stars for staff’s hospitality. All the best guys.
Gaurav G — Google review
Sadly they can’t get many “walk-ins” here, as the appearance from the outside isn’t welcoming. It looks like some sort of bunker on a council estate. They may as well put up a sign saying “Do Not Enter!” However, luckily we did; to find inside, a very well-appointed restaurant. Maybe the outside appearance is deterring people? - as there were only two other diners. Such a shame, as the food really deserves to be widely appreciated. It’s that good. The best in the region by miles. There is a no-frills laminated menu of the basic kind, which reminded me of a past life of regular visits to Brick Lane in London, (or indeed India itself). Thankfully, the authenticity extended to the food as well, it is home marinated, fresh and using top ingredients. This was our second visit and it will now become our regular place for “Indian” cuisine. I urge you to go there, as you will not find better! All meats are succulent and portions are generous. Spice can be as much or as little as you like. We went with a pal of Pakistan heritage (who loves his curry) and he he REALLY rated it too. We ordered off the quite short Nepalese Specialities section. We began with the ubiquitous poppadoms served with a good pickle tray. Knowing portions are good, we shared a single tandoori special amongst 4 of us. Excellent. All main dishes and sides were superb. (The sides are meals in themselves!). This place food-wise is unlike anything we’ve had in Devon & Cornwall. A real home-cooking feel; the spices and herbs etc. were cooked and prepared in the kitchen, not merely covered with bought-in sweet sauces and powders as one often encounters. We had the Momo Lamb; dry chilli chicken (requested mild); Lamb Korahi and a Lamb Vindaloo. All were tender and delicious. We chatted with the owner, a Nepalese national, who was very informative about the ingredients and preparation. Lovely chap. We washed it all down with some lovely Kathmandu Lagers and diet cokes. The bill, with service was excellent value at £140 for 4 of us; and we still needed “doggie bags” to take home with us.) All I can say is, ignore the frontage; and enjoy genuine high-quality food that offers something different and is freshly cooked and extremely tasty.
