Blackbeard’s Restaurant on South Padre Island has the reputation as the place to go when on the island. When we told our neighbors that we were going to South Padre Island, they said we had to stop at Blackbeard’s. So, we stopped on a Sunday evening for dinner. The restaurant was busy but not crowded and we were seated right away. This restaurant has a great vibe and is exactly what you’d expect for a restaurant in a beach community. My wife got the Blackbeard’s Seafood Platter with steak fries and house salad. She chose the Asian catfish as her fish option. This is a large amount of food, but it was mostly fried catfish. There were three shrimps, two small scallops, and a small amount of stuffed crab and shrimp with a huge plate of steak fries. The fried food was fine, but we weren’t blown away by any of it. I got the Ginger Teriyaki Ahi Tuna with French fries and house salad. The tuna steak was cooked perfectly, had a great flavor, and it was a large portion. I really enjoyed it and would get it again. Overall, we’re happy that we tried Blackbeard’s. The service was okay, the atmosphere was good, and the menu has something for everyone.

At dinner with our family here on a holiday in South Padre Island . Environment is fun. Great music, lots of decorations, plenty of seating. Menu has lots of options. Pricing is $15-$25 per person for the most part. Portion sizes are huge and was the best part. Food was really good. Highly recommend the tacos

Food was awesome, waiter and hostess were friendly and attentive. Had a party of 5 and we all had a full meal, and dessert for just over $120. Everyone was happy with the food. It was a great dinner. Props to Kevin for not letting our drinks get less than half before refilling. The key lime pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and apple desserts were great.

food was awesome! portions are lowkey huge and crazy, but we had leftovers and they were just as good. the baked snapper with crab stuffing was so so good. the bourbon salmon was also very tasty. and shoutout to our server, esmeralda, who was amazing and so helpful!!

Had lunch on a weekday and the food, the service, and the pricing were all very good. The shrimp and the Asian fish were nicely battered and fried. The lunch platters came with cole slaw, hush puppies, and fries, all of which were good. Ramon did a great job, making a fresh pot of coffee to accompany our key lime pie. He refilled our coffee mugs without being asked and was very attentive overall.

Food was great (I should've taken pictures of my husband's and son's food! I always get chicken 🥹🤷🏻‍♀️) - huge portions, excellent quality! Esmeralda was a wonderful server (give her a raise 😁)!!! Huge place, fast service. Staff seemed happy and friendly! Highly recommend!

Plenty of good food for your money. Our waitress even refilled our water jug with ice and water for us. Would be nice if there were seats with a view, but this does not seem to be a thing on SPI.

I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much when we arrived. The decor along with the plastic tables and plastic silverware kinda put me off. But once we were seated we have a very attentive server who made great recommendations. He was very friendly and very patient. The food was good. The portion sizes were great for the money when I came to all the fried seafood baskets. My blackened fish was good they even brought the part with the bones in case I wanted to eat that. He definitely warned me though that there were bones in that tray of fish. I didn’t enjoy the salad as it was really a basic salad on the same plate as my fish. The snow crab was great, fresh and succulent. The margaritas were good and we even got to keep the cups. Overall, a good place to stop in if you’re coming back from a boat tour or leaving the Beach Waterpark. Very casual environment as expected in a beach town.

We didn't enjoy our food. I ordered a blackened fish without realizing it would be a 2.3-pound giant, which ended up costing me $65 just for the fish😅 I hope next time they'll mention the size beforehand, so customers aren't surprised by what they get. The calamari was chewey as well. We didn't finish our meal. I feel like waste money for the foods we ordered. Sorry! I just being honest. Every person has different taste and thoughts. Everyone is not perfect i know but listening to a customer might help for a little change. Thank-you!

It’s a locals “referred” favorite. I found it not so preferred. 1 fried snapper, 8 shrimp, 12 oysters, 2 Pacifico beers and a Mexican coke. $225 with tip. The oysters were pathetic. Stringy and not cut. A few were good. Snapper was tasty but it was $90. Shrimp with butter and garlic were very good. This would have been too much at half the cost. Seriously, go find a local Mexican joint. So much better and reasonable.

Visited Dirty Als and the food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh! The only minor downside was that it felt a bit crowded, which is typical around 7 to 10 p.m. especially during the summer. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s a cozy little spot with great food and great prices. You can’t beat it! I recommend the blackened fish with sautéed onions, pnion blossom and the starter boiled shrimp.

Excellent food. Fresh fish and prawns. Drinks were also good. Fries also fresh and crispy. Service was quick compared to the large number of customes served. Place was clean and atmosphere was good. We will definitely visit again whenever in back in town.

We spent 4 days in SPI and honestly, after trying multiple restaurants, we were let down every single time — until a local recommended Dirty Al’s. The first night we went around 8pm (their hours say open until 9), but we were turned away. To their credit, the manager gave us a free appetizer voucher to another spot nearby, which was a nice gesture. We decided to give it another shot the next day, this time around 6:30. We asked for outdoor seating but were told “no, I don’t think we have it,” which was odd since shortly after, another party was seated outside. That was a little frustrating, but once the food came out… it was worth it. The food was hands down the best we had during our entire trip. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. They don’t have a ton of non-seafood options, but there’s at least something for everyone. My husband ordered the whole red snapper — a bit pricey at $86, but honestly after all the disappointment elsewhere, it was worth every penny. Moral of the story: Go early so you don’t get turned away. Dirty Al’s ended up being the highlight of our dining experience in SPI!

This is our second time at this restaurant. Last time was much better, but this time the food wasn't great, nor was the service. My friend ordered fried fish and they brought him fillets. Please don't say the whole fish. Explain honestly what the person is asking you. Last year's review: Excellent food, we loved the service, we were served by a very kind lady named Rosalia, always attentive to our table, we ate very fresh shrimp and fish. It was worth visiting this place. And the hot sauce they sell is excellent, I brought one home. We didn't see that there were tables outside, we would have loved to eat there.

Lured by the west facing outdoor patio, we came for dinner hoping to dine during the sunset. The setting sunlight was a bit too harsh for us, so we moved inside. Other customers seemed fine outside. Inside had the dinner buffet which won us over because of the variety of food they offered, especially the steamed crab which is my son’s favorite. Ultimately, the food was a bit disappointing. Everything was over cooked. Prime rib was basically well done and shredded when cutting it. The pork ribs were pretty dry and leaned heavily on the sauce. The crab meat was stuck to the shells, which is fine just usually shredded and harder to peel. The mac and cheese beshumel was a bit grainy. My favorite food items were the sausage and baked fish. Our waitress was very nice trying to accommodate our friend who is vegetarian. The servers behind the buffet seemed a bit more moody basically throwing food on our plates. Maybe it’s just an off day. We all have them. The buffet itself was crammed in a corner with the protein in the back most corner which felt like a trap when other people were crowded behind you waiting for service. $33/adult and $15/child for buffet.

This is a massive restaurant. Plenty of seating for our large family of 14. We were seated right away. Food was good. They are known for their seafood buffet. I was slightly disappointed that the buffet didn’t include lines on both sides. When the place was busy, you’ll have to wait a while in the buffet line. Limited salad bar. Need to organize that area better.

Louie’s Backyard offers a great dining experience with delicious food and strong, flavorful cocktails. The outdoor seating provides a stunning view of the water and South Padre Island’s beautiful scenery. While they don’t serve crab legs or garlic potatoes before buffet hours, the rest of the menu did not disappoint. We visited as a large group, and although one meal took so long to arrive that most of us had already finished eating, the staff remained friendly. An unexpected bit of entertainment came when a bold bird swooped down and stole a fry right off a plate! Overall, we truly enjoyed the relaxed, waterfront atmosphere and would visit again for the views alone.

This is split up into a few areas, there is an outdoor eating area where there is live music from time to time (there was when we were there), and an indoor area where they have the all you can eat seafood buffet. This is the reason we went. The buffet is amazing with quite the variety of food to choose from. We had a coupon from a local tourist information booklet that told recommended the buffet. They were right, it was incredible!!! There is a small gift shop on the way out to get a souvenir shirt, mug, magnet, or other items.

Even though I’ve been going to SPI for years it was my first time eating at the beach. I looked for places nearby, couple of research I finally chose this place because it was recommended by a friend of mine. It did not disappoint.! My first requirement when I asked my friends for recommendations was “I want to eat next to the ocean” This place has a beautiful view either on first or 2nd floor. It was a partly cloudy day and around sunset, it was stunning! The food was also good. I would like to point out for the first floor there’s a menu and the 2nd floor is another type of menu. I went with family so I chose the first floor. They mentioned second floor is mostly appetizers and drinks. They do have a salad bar, several things to. choose from, salads, cold salads, different type of shrimp, fresh fruit, etc. All plates we got were good portion, good flavor. Service was good. Try it out! I recommend this place 👌

Went here with the family yesterday. The wife and I had the grilled snapper with grilled veggies where the snapper was a bit dry but had good flavor and the veggies looked like they had been pulled from the salad bar (which is very small and basic) and warmed up. My daughter liked the cowboy chicken with rice but the rice was very basic. Our waiter was nice and worked hard so we tipped him well but he had too many tables and was hard to find when we needed him. The drinks we had were ok but too sweet and there was live music that was decent. I don’t think I would go here again for dinner, though. Too many better seafood places in the area.

Buffet was good food, but the line would get really long. I waited 20 min in line to get food. The server was great. The restaurant policy is they do not split checks. The view was amazing

Magnifico! Gabriella’s Italian restaurant is a wonderful place to grab a bite. We walked up and they had seating immediately for a small group but you can call ahead to ask about wait times. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. I love Chicken Parmesan and theirs was delightful. The atmosphere was pleasant for being so busy it wasn’t loud. The service was top tier, Enrique went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of.

Gabriella’s in South Padre Island is an absolute gem! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the staff made us feel right at home. We have to rave about the pesto pizza—it was incredible! The pesto sauce was rich and flavorful without being overpowering, and the fresh ingredients brought everything together perfectly. The crust had just the right amount of crisp, and every bite was bursting with flavor. Easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Gabriella’s is a must-visit for great food and a great experience!

The service at Gabriella’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria was outstanding! The bread with the balsamic oil mixture was delicious. I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken — the chicken was cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. My daughter had the pizza, and it was authentic Italian — you can truly taste the quality! I wish I had room to try the pasta, but there will definitely be a next time. Highly recommend! 🇮🇹🍕🥗

We went to Gabriella’s and wow, the vibe was absolutely immaculate. It’s one of those places that just feels good the moment you walk in. We ordered the pizza and added basil, and it came shredded, which was perfect because every single bite had that fresh basil flavor. The pizza itself was amazing, crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The service was great too, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of my new favorite pizza spots!

We had a great experience dining here! Our waiter, Jaime, was incredibly attentive and fast — he made sure we had everything we needed and checked in often without being overbearing. We ordered the Tour of Italy, and it was definitely big enough to share with three people. The pastas were all delicious, and the lasagna was especially good — flavorful and perfectly cooked. The only downside was the tap water, which had a strange taste. I’d recommend going with a bottled water instead. Overall, a solid meal and excellent service. Would definitely come back!

Family of 5; with each of us getting our own dessert😛 = $200 Not at all a bad price! Especially considering the portion size being perfect to fill you up! Service was amazing, brick oven pizza was DELISH, son got pesto chicken 🤌, and the other ravioli's 🤤 (waited too long to take a poc of his). If you're from Houston like us then this is totally like Buca de Beppo! 10/10

we travelled from Corpus to go to Gabrielle’s, absolutely worth the day trip! the atmosphere was great, very calm and the music was fitting. the food was amazing. beautiful bruschetta, and the lasagna was to die for. don’t even get me started on the tiramisu. perfect flavor balance. not overpowering. 10/10, we’ll definitely be coming back !

Be prepared to wait a long time! Check in, Grab yourself a coffee at the coffee station and wait outside. In my strongest opinion, the food taste and portion sizes are worth the wait! They do offer indoor, outdoor or bar seating. The hours are limited to only breakfast, brunch and lunch.

We really loved this place. The food is delicious and in good quantities. The staff gives an excellent service. It's definitely become one of our favorites, no doubt. It's almost always packed, so be patient in case you have to wait for a table. Overall we give it 10/10

Hands down the best chilaquiles I’ve ever had on the island. I ordered half red salsa and half green salsa both were exceptional! The French toast was also so delicious! Definitely recommend. Also our waiter was so kind and talkative, really enjoyed the recommendations and assistance.

Delicious foods, great service, all in a gem of a restaurant buried in a little shopping center. I recommend the breakfast quesadilla, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Show up early or be prepared to wait. If you show up and there's a line, rest assured that the wait will be worth it.

With name“Yummies,” we were compelled to try this establishment, and it exceeded our expectations. The cuisine was delectable, but we should have anticipated the customary wait time, considering that we were visiting the island during the 4th of July. This place is a must visit and try!

Best coffee on the island! Lattes are colorful and full of color! Mimosa was sparkly and flavorful. Breakfast was great! I highly recommend. We got in pretty quick. It’s a big restaurant so plenty of seating.

I was impressed with the chilaquiles. They were really good. I ordered the Mediterranean avocado toast. I like that they have a great variety of food options including smoothies and coffee specialties. If you are visiting SPI. This place is a must have breakfast ✨🫶

First time here and I stopped to look at the huge Miro on the wall. My mouth was open in amazement, it's true I could not stop looking around. We came dressed comfortable, fancy place but very comfy. We were seated at a window seat, looking at the harbor from our table. Looking up I saw wooden carved fish hanging everywhere. Our waiter greeted us right away taking drink orders then bringing a basket of bread and butter. We ordered and our food was cooked to perfection. I do not eat much but wanted to try the Ahi Tuna with baked potatoes and side salad. This was the best tuna I've ever had. Perfect seasoning and cooked perfectly as well. My mom and dad had the scampi, shrimp kabobs with fish. They both loved their meals. I had a lot of food for the next day, I was going to order just the tuna as an appetizer but decided to order the meal, you get 2 sides this way. We left and took time to admire the paintings and gift shop. To my surprise there is a picture of "Here's Johnny" from The Shinning above the door going out. The girls at the desk got a kick out of me laughing, nice touch. What a wonderful evening, thank you for such a great experience.

We went to eat here on a Thursday for our 4th wedding anniversary. I of course did some research before going, I compared it to other comparable restaurants in the area. My wife is not a big sea food lover, so she would prefer steak. the view had to be spot on, and it wasn't going to break my wallet. When we stepped into the restaurant I had my reservations because I saw the small gift shop in front and several people wearing shorts. We came dressed up for the occasion, but when we walked in all we both saw was the view from the windows. The online pictures do no do this place justice. It was a great view of the bay and the boats at the dock. They sat us by a window without even asking us. My wife just stared outside that window the whole time, she may not like seafood that much but she loves being by the water. Our waiter was friendly and his service was also great. My wife ordered a martini and I ordered a bloody mary, both were delicious. I ordered the whole snapper and my wife ordered the filet. Both came out amazing and cooked to perfection. I couldn't of asked for a better anniversary dinner and everything was just amazing. We both left full and even took pictures from outside the restaurant on the dock side. Great place, great service, great views, good food.

It’s our first time on the Island and we came here because of the great reviews. I ordered the special and the presentation was beautiful. The scallops, shrimp and the rice were amazing. However the snapper lacked flavor, the asparagus were overcooked and the cream sauce didn’t pair well with the fish. The watermelon martini was really good. I really wanted to love it, but the special just didn’t live up to the hype.

Loved the artwork and sculptures in and around the restaurant! Food was delicious, service was friendly and professional. We had a nice view of the marina. Great nice dinner out on vacation. This was our fancy dinner for the trip, it was excellent.

we went in for my wife's birthday and food was exceptional. I ordered the cedar plank salmon and my wife the sea food enchiladas. Cocktails were good and service was great. Props to all the Chef and staff our visit was awesome😋

We went there 3 different times in 4 days!!! Crab fingers, snapper ceviche, Capt Skipper, watermelon martini, truffle cheesecake, coconut shrimp with both garlic mash & baked potato, seafood alfredo, key lime pie, peel n eat shrimp and seafood enchiladas....everything was awesome - food, service, Elisa(wait staff) and Jessica(bar) plus the gentleman who checked the price on the gorgeous - but whew $$$$$ painting. I loved this place!!!!

This is our go to for our birthdays and anniversary. The staff are attentive, and go the extra mile for our special dates. The fish specials are always great but the snapper is a buttery delicious favorite and my husband a land lover has enjoyed the tenderloin burst with flavor and melts in your mouth. The plate presentation is excellent, the salads and bread are so fresh and the crème brûlée is the best ever. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets off the docks and stop and look and the fun jewelry too! And take a piece of key lime pie home. That’s great too!

Stopped for happy hour ordered appetizers and two IPAs - Celia was our server. She was prompt and pleasant. Another person brought a bowl of water for our pups - we ate outside enjoying the sunshine

Man let me tell you, there beer is dope and they sell it to go in a old school jug that is refillable. Buffalo wings are good and the pickles with cheese curds are bomb. Pizza is legit and tasty. They have happy hour specials. I highly recommend if you want to try local beer and good food with good vibes.

We came for a burger & had pizza as well. Everything was delicious! The beer was excellent too. We plan to return for happy hour, great prices.

Such a delicious choice of food, highly recommend the fried pickles w/ fried cheese curds and of course their award winning pizza cause you can definitely tell! Amazing customer service and great vibes all around. Will definitely come again next time I’m in South Padre!

We really enjoyed the food, and even though I'm not a beer drinker I did enjoy their seasonal in house brew. It was great. Our only complaint was that the room was very loud and echoing. I know it's a brewery, but perhaps some acoustic tiles or ceiling tiles would help.

Chips and homemade Salsa were great and addictive. Wife enjoyed her Shrimp cocktail and other item. If wanting oysters, call ahead to make sure they're not out, as they were when we went.

This food was the best sea food i’ve had in such a long time. the atmosphere is amazing and nothing too crazy you could say it’s family friendly as well as people has their kids here. the food was so good and such good quality. our server and as i noticed other servers as well were so attentive. would drive 8+ hours to come here again. 10/10

We ate here three times on our week long vacation to South Padre. When we return next summer we will definitely eat here again. The service was great from Jacob. I got the green enchiladas all three times because they were so good! The chips and salsa they bring out are very fresh every time! Would definitely recommend!

Food was fresh, hot and delicious! Jose took great care of us as we are here for several days. The salsa was the best we've ever had anywhere.

We won’t be back. Our server was the best part about dining here. He was sweet & attentive. The food looked deceptively impressive upon arrival, but the complimentary chips & salsa was the best part of meal & it was ok. My half roasted chicken was dry & everything was flavorless, it literally couldve been improved easily with some salt or salsa over everything. My corn tortillas were hard & dry. My husband’s meal was slightly better. If you like quantity over quality, this is your place. My iced tea tasted like mildew & so did my husband’s water. Undrinkable. The tables & floor could use a good scrubbing. The colorful paint & decor do not hide that the restaurant is dirty.

Food was alright, drinks were ok... not worth the price per the portion ratio in my opinion, salsa and chips were pretty darn good.... place was decorated awesome and it was a good dinner... not much to brag about... had a chicken chimichanga, birria tacos and seafood trio basket

Our favorite Mexican spot on Padre Island. The salsa is fantastic, the chips are awesome. The drinks come in a collectors cup and are made with a "solid pour". The food is also tremendous no one at our table had any complaints. We make it a point to visit here for at least one meal every time we come down and I plan to collect ALL the cups "infinity stone" style one of these days, though it'll probably take a few trips.

The tortillas were rubbery, the Mexican rice was sweet (?) and the beans were just ok. Save your money, cause even the margaritas were bleh. I could not taste any tequila ☹️ the free chips they give tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Save your money. Go to Whataburger, at least you know you are getting junk food.

Don't go in there if you want quality.......there are best places in town.....only thing that I enjoyed was Piña Colada...so good.....food horrible...Chips are the worst ....i assume they fry them in old grease...I returned them ...and restaurants need an update about maintenance...look dirty...holes on the walls and even you can see mold growing....so I'll never be back...

Service was good. The girls at the counter were sweet… but these are the “Chicken Tenders.” **Update: They got me new tenders. Half of them looked golden/perfect. The other half looked the same. My son ate the good ones. So, 3 star for food.

Bar Louie impressed me pretty well. Me and my wife ate here 3 separate times on our anniversary vacation and each time was delicious! Their chicken nachos are massive and very good, and their Cajun Salmon which also came with Shrimp, Asparagus and Potatoes were absolutely fantastic; it was the best salmon I have had in a while! (I personally ordered this twice). Their servers were always friendly and helpful whether dine in or carry out. The atmosphere is also very chill with music playing pretty softly allowing you to just relax, eat, and enjoy time with your company. This place will absolutely get my business again on our next visit to SPI!

We recently moved to the area and have been here 4 times already. The food is consistently excellent. Yes, it's kind of hard to find but I'm telling you, it's worth the walk. Service is excellent and everyone we've brought with us has loved the food.

Daddy’s in South Padre Island has a solid reputation, but our experience was a bit mixed. We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Dirty Sampler, which sounded exciting but ended up being underwhelming. For $25, we expected a decent spread, but it was surprisingly small—especially with just a few stuffed shrimp jalapeños, some calamari, and cheese sticks. Honestly, not worth the price at all. On the brighter side, the shrimp Alfredo was really good—creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked well. The shrimp tacos were also enjoyable, and the shrimp po’boy was generous in size and had a nice kick to it. However, we also ordered the Lila Special, which is supposedly award-winning, but it didn’t live up to the hype. It left a strange aftertaste and wasn’t something we’d recommend. One thing to note: don’t drink the water. It had a strange, almost chemical taste that put us off. Also, be aware of the 20% service charge for parties over six, which is automatically added—and then you’re still expected to tip on top of that. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible meal, but for the price and the uneven quality of food, we probably wouldn’t go back. There are better options on the island.

Loved the place. Was immediately greeted by wait staff and seated. We visited on a Saturday lunch hour and there was no wait time to be seated. Darren was our waiter and he was helpful with choosing menu items. Ordered the chicken Alfredo and the shrimp boil, both well served. Family friendly, they give the kids alligator hats. Ordered two appetizers that were very well served. I definitely recommend the Texas loaded fries and shrimp stuffed peppers. Some things I’d fix would be to add more lighting fixtures as the dinning area was a bit dark, proper signage at the front door entrance, and that the food be more seasoned. When back at the island, will definitely return to Daddy’s seafood kitchen!

Had a great experience at Daddy’s Seafood in South Padre Island! The service was top-notch, especially from my waiter and bartender Alejandro — he really made the visit outstanding with his attentive and friendly attitude. The restaurant itself is very spacious, with plenty of seating including an upstairs area that gives it a nice open feel. The seafood here is as fresh as it gets — you can tell it’s caught locally, maybe just a couple miles away. Their seafood boils are the real deal, served in a bag with all the seasoning cooked in, not the fake pan-style versions you find elsewhere. The shrimp were big, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the portions overall were very generous. The drinks were just as impressive — nice and strong, with the prickly pear margarita being a standout. Between the quality of the food, the drinks, and the excellent service from Alejandro, this place is a must-try. Definitely planning on coming back the next time I’m in town, and if you go, make sure to ask for Alejandro!

Place was great. Service was outstanding. Came to eat with my family of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids) and it came around $145 due to %18 automatic service charge; which did not bother me in the least due to the great service. The taste of the food was not something to brag about, but it was alright. Maybe it was what I order, but maybe will try another dish next time. Definitely, love the environment and the way the waiter was constant in checking to see if we need it anything. Great service.

Omgee! We were craving a crab boil and this was the spot. The hot mama was spicy but so good. Lemon butter and Cajun mix was delicious too. The onion blossom has huge and very yummy.

Chill and peaceful atmosphere. Decorated with fishing and sea themed decor with various TVs for entertainment. Nice and friendly staff and the food came out delicious and hot. I ordered a New Orleans style Freddy's Mix Seafood Boil with crab. It was so good! Came with a bib and gloves, which I'm thankful for because it is quite messy but worth every drop

Food was decent. I was expecting more flavor. It’s pretty loud upstairs and hard to hear everyone at the table. Music was a little strange. Vibe was kinda all over the place. Fresh seafood & stiff drinks will bring me back tho! I got oyster Rockefeller without the bacon. Was pretty good. I also got the stuffed redfish. Both were pretty good.

This place is insanely delicious! Scratch-made pastas, desserts, bread, local beer!!! Pizza! It does not get any better! From the dipping sauce and fresh pressed breakfast juices, this place is great! Super fresh! Extremely friendly staff. Always a great time here. If you're lucky enough someone will play the piano! Some of the most delicious foods on South Padre Island!

The service is great. My husband and I have been there few times and we have been with family as well. The lasagna is to die for. The spaghetti meat balls, delicious. Great spaghetti and sauce. However I recommend for the price at least double the meat or make it 3. 2 small ones seems too cheap. Delicious soups. Great value for my money except for the pasta meat balls

Wow. This place is an absolute gem!!! Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant to eat Italian food on the beach but The Meatball Cafe was phenomenal! If you're going back and forth on eating at this place, let this review be what you need to give it a try! I promise it will not disappoint. THE ATMOSPHERE/SERVICE: Beautiful. Very romantic with a great noise level for conversation, and the second you walk in the door the smell is out of this world good!!! Not to mention, the staff is absolutely phenomenal. They knew when to check in without hovering or overstaying their welcome. Very knowledgeable with the menu and had great recommendations! Very polite, very friendly, extremely personable. I really wish I would have gotten our waitress' name to mention her here because she was lovely! (The Meatball Cafe is also pet friendly on their patio as of 10/17/2025) THE FOOD: After reading a few Google reviews that mentioned how perfectly the scallops were cooked, I decided to order the scallop toscana. Let me tell you, those reviews were spot on! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the pesto toscana sauce was to die for! Very rich, very filling, and a phenomenal portion size. They also make all their pasta, bread, and pizza dough from scratch every day, and you can really taste the difference there. Some of the best pasta I've ever had!!! My husband ordered the lasagna and it was mind blowing. He said it's the best lasagna he's ever had in his life, hands down. You can really taste the love this place puts into every single dish. As for the appetizer, we ordered the fried cheese ravioli. I forgot to get a picture of it, I was so hungry, but man was it good and the raviolis were HUGE! Easily the size of my hand. The flavor was phenomenal and the Marinara sauce it came with was extraordinary! The salads that came with our entrees were excellent as well. I got the balsamic vinaigrette dressing and it was very very good. As for the appetizer bread, oil and vinegar... It was out of this world, truly! I believe the olive oil they used was slow simmered with garlic beforehand so it was packed with great flavor! EASILY the best olive oil balsamic mix I've ever had. There were a good number of delicious vegetarian options as well, so this would be a great place to bring your vegetarian friends and family! The chefs are also VERY willing to work with your preferences and needs so that you get the dish that's best for your tastes! THE DRINKS: If I'm being honest, the drinks were good but not great. They definitely pour heavy-handed, which is nice if you're not a lightweight! We got a Moscow mule that was pretty standard in flavor and quality. The Italian margarita was good but not amazing! It just tasted like a standard tropical/fruity margarita. The old fashioned was way too sweet for our liking, but everyone is unique in their old fashioned preference! Overall, I cannot talk about this place enough! EVERYTHING was perfect (aside from the drinks just being good but not great). The atmosphere, the service, the food, just an incredible experience, and very walkable, too! It was a bit on the pricey side, but anyone who is a true foodie knows when good food and service is worth the price. This will be a regular spot we visit while in SPI from here on out. You absolutely HAVE to try The Meatball Cafe while in SPI!

Off the to-do list. I've been wanting to come to this place for years. The wife got out of work early and we finally made it for lunch. Perfect timing around 1:00 p.m. low light nice and quiet very romantic ish. We started with calamari as an appetizer. It wasn't as great as we expected it to. It was cooked golden brown but very dry and chewy. We were brought bread which was good with the oil and herb. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with chicken. She enjoyed it very much and it had good flavor. I wanted the Best of both worlds so I ordered the lunch special of chicken parmigiana and then I ordered the lasagna. The main course was absolutely delicious, everything was cooked perfectly well served and had great flavor. The only negative thing I can say is the option to substitute. These meals both came with salad and I was hoping to trade them both in for the wedding soup without the upcharge but they wouldn't allow it. So I ended up with the wedding soup and a caesar salad. I'm not a Caesar salad kind of guy but it was actually pretty good. The wedding soup was not that great, it tasted like Mexican soup. service was okay, no one was rude they just didn't check on us very often. Would we go back, most likely yes.

Though I’m I was born and raised in Brownsville, and visit regularly because I now live in Central Texas, I had never been to the Meatball Cafe. Sooooo glad we came and tried it out, in part to the great reviews online. We came for lunch, with three adults and four kids. We all loved it! The service was also very good, as we had a very attentive waiter and other staff that regularly asked how we were doing. We sat in the patio area which has air conditioning.

Biggest beach bar in Texas? Absolutely lives up to the hype. Clayton’s is the spot if you’re looking for laid-back beach vibes with a side of live music, ocean breeze, and strong drinks. Perfect place to catch a sunset while vibing to the DJ or a live band. Food is typical bar grill—nothing fancy, but it hits the spot when you’ve been in the sun all day (try the loaded nachos or shrimp baskets). Drinks are strong, and the frozen cocktails go fast, so don’t sleep. Service can be hit or miss during peak hours, but the energy makes up for it. Overall, it’s a must-do stop when you're in SPI, especially if you're with friends or want that spring break party feel year-round.

This place is huge. Could be a fun place in the evening when the sun goes down. We were there during the day, We had 5 people in our lunch crowd and only 3 of us got our food. Two of us never got our food. Had to ask for a refund. Our order got lost or never sent to the kitchen staff. Staff was not concerned about getting our food after we inquired about the food order. We asked 3 times with no result. Oh well! Two of us ate elsewhere!

When I saw the sign that said “Biggest Beach Bar in Texas,” it caught my eye — and Clayton’s really lives up to the hype. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for laid-back beach vibes, live music, ocean breeze, and great drinks.

Food was horrible. Rubbery shrimp tacos with no flavor at all. “Fajita” nachos were chopped beef and processed queso. Enjoyed the view and breeze.

I have no clue why this place has such good reviews. I went with my sisters, mom, and grandma and we all felt like we got ROBBED. The drinks tasted watered down and every food item was completely sub-par. “Shrimp cocktail” came as tiny thawed out-tasting shrimp in a soup bowl filled with cocktail sauce and frozen rubbery avocado (I’d specifically asked ‘how is the shrimp cocktail served? Does it come with anything?’ And was only told ‘with pico de gallo.’ Lies!) The fisherman’s platters had dry, overcooked fish, shrimp, and oysters and there was NO seasoning on them. Fries tasted like they had come out of the freezer and been cooked in a toaster oven yesterday — and were sitting on the plate waiting for us until they got ordered today. Also, there’s no way anyone was actually *cooking* anything so I don’t know why our wait was so long. The best thing we ordered was the guac and chips, which was highway robbery at $10 for maybe a 4-6oz styrofoam cup. But even so, we said it’s saying a lot if that was the best thing we ate all night considering that it was tiny and more of an avocado spread than a guacamole: no tomato, no lime, no cilantro, not even an onion! I would go here to sit and listen to music or head down to their beach. I would never spend my hard earned money on their food or drinks. We spent $15 per drink, $20 per fisherman’s platter, $10 “guacamole,” $15 shrimp cocktail.

Cool place to see a concert and hang put with friends, staff was cool, view of the ocean was excellent. Food was reasonably priced and decent, drinks were super expensive in my opinion, but tasty. Had a overall really good experience and would go back for sure.

We have been here twice. The service is great. The meals are absolutely perfect with large portions. The first time I went the chicken quesadilla was amazing. This time I had the kids enchilada and it was just what I was craving. My son absolutely loves their shrimp basket!

Took the family here for dinner one night because it was walking distance to the condo where we were staying. Service was OK, food was great. Walking by the wood stack and the outdoor smoker area, I figured their Hickory smoked ribs would be good so I ordered a full rack. My kids got the mini corndogs. Both are pictured. Ribs were finger lickin' good. Ate most of them and had the rest another day for breakfast. Kids food was good as well. The service was OK, not horrible, not great. At the time we went it was not busy, there were plenty of tables available. Being that we were a family of 6 they said automatic 18% gratuity would apply. When the bill came, somehow it wasn't there. Paid cash and received a little discount on the meal.

Everything was so good! I got the fish po boy 10/10, Dad got the Half rack of ribs which were huge 10/10, mom got the Baja fish tacos and brother got a burger with cheese and bacon- Both 10/10! The burger meat was actually surprisingly good- totally recommend. We also got onion rings and fried calamari as appetizers and were both delicious.

Came here on a Friday night. It was semi- busy and we didn’t wait for a table. The hostess sat us in a corner section in the very back. I’m not sure what the servers name was but she only checked on us twice throughout the night. She was sweet just inattentive. Our food took about a hour to get out. We ordered the chicken alfredo, the big burger, and the chicken fried chicken. Overall the chicken fried chicken was the best thing ordered. If you want a crowded place with a long wait time for the food this is a great place.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it. Our server was prompt and attentive. She had a friendly smile and gave out a positive vibe. The ribs were very tasty. And prices are reasonable. I recommend to try it out.

Hi we were on a family vacation and It was our last night at SPI and we wanted to make it special so we decided to go to Liam's. It was a party of 9 everything was going great the Food was amazing! Service was horrible! Had a very disappointing experience. Lack of empathy towards our questions and concerns,felt rushed on ordering the food,rude customer service, remarks underbreath rollin of eyes. I could just continue on and on on how terrible he served my family and I. When asking questions he would response with a horrible attitude and to top it off when I asked for a to go bag he took my plate with my $75 steak and came back and placed it on the floor next to me. I have never felt so disappointed and disgusted. It would have been a beautiful evening but our WAITER JOHN H just had to ruin it. The tab was over $300. We really wished we would have spoken up and asked to be placed in a different section. I honestly hope y'all do address him on this. This is no way to treat any paying customer. Especially on the amount of money spent in the restaurant.

We came about an hour before sunset, which would have been the perfect time to enjoy a table outside, but since no one asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating, we ended up inside. Thankfully, the hostess was kind enough to seat us by the windows, so we still had a fairly nice view as the light started to fade. The food overall was good, with the mussels standing out as my favorite—though I did wish the portion was a little larger considering the price. I also tried the Oscar filet mignon, which was definitely tender and flavorful, but the "Oscar" was nothing that really impressed me; next time I’d probably skip it. The boneless ribeye, on the other hand, was solid—it had a good texture and wasn’t overloaded with fat. For dessert, we went with the chocolate bomb, which tasted great, but the experience fell short since the hot chocolate sauce wasn’t really hot, taking away from the dramatic presentation I’d seen hyped in other posts. All in all, I’m glad we gave the place a try, but considering the price point, I don’t see myself coming back often. It felt more like a one-time experience than a spot I’d return to regularly.

I surprised my wife for our 14th wedding anniversary, and we left with full hearts and even fuller bellies. From the moment we were seated by the window with a front-row view of the sun melting into the Gulf, we knew this night was special. Angelina took very good care of us. Fresh hot bread and perfectly timed drinks. No rush, no fuss - just warm, buttery bliss to kick things off. I ordered the Ribeye steak cooked medium rare, and folks... I’ve had my fair share of steaks, but this one? Juicy, tender, kissed by flame, and seasoned to perfection. Pair that with the chipotle corn (smoky, creamy, a little heat) and a loaded baked potato so rich it should come with a security detail. My wife had a plate of lamb chops. Pure 5-star flavor fireworks. 💥 We capped off the night with a silky, golden Creme Brulee that we shamelessly destroyed together, spoon by spoon. Just when we thought we were done, the staff blew us away with complimentary strawberry shortcake, complete with a Happy Anniversary card. That’s hospitality with a soul. My wife and I chose to sit outside. It was lovely and warm that Christmas vacation. Being from Wisconsin, it was about fall weather. lol The food was fantastic!! My wife tried the escargot for the first time and loved it! I had the filet mignon and lobster tail. Perfection. Can't wait to go back. Christmas seems so far away.

Dined here for my partners birthday. We wanted Crab claw meat they haven't had any for a month. So why is it still on the menu. Simple white tape over the menu item would have promted us to go somewhere else. From that point forward we were let down felt like we settled. The snapper cerveche was dry missing something the tortilla chips were boring. For my entree I ordered lamb chops. They were over salted. The best thing was the baked potatoe and the bread served when we sat down. My 3 pieces of asparagus were only about 2 inches of edible stems they were poorly cooked still too firm and 2/3rds of them were yellow and flat. Not edible. My partner was not impressed with his Broccoli they were under cooked he ordered shrimp kabobs for his entree which he can get anywhere. and the was disgusted with the price. Not worth the quality served. Overall I rate this place a 3 and we made a pact if they don't have items we want that are posted on the menu we're walking out. 3 more days in San Padre. Hoping its better from here on out. We enjoyed the patio and the sunset with a warm breeze.

Decided to reserve at Liam’s after a girls night, the atmosphere was nice but we struggled when ordering and when paying. Service felt short from the very beginning up until the very end. Our server was unorganized and confused our checks multiple times. We felt rushed through dinner and were unable to enjoy our sit down time. The food also fell short as 3 of our friends had diarrhea and 2 of us were extremely bloated. One of the girls ordered the seafood primavera and the shells were broken in the pasta which could have been a choking hazard. Overall, I would not return as the service and food were not up to standard and we all got sick. The food was also extremely greasy.

I had been eyeballin this pizza place for some time...hesitant to pull the trigger...because of the 3.9 Google review.. "Not so fast cowboy "..i thought to myself ..this pizza i must eat...and see if i may be able to reverse that weak review with a spectacular experience... Well...the reviews were right... I arrived and was greeted by a warm and sparkly host..eager to please our pizza cravings... .i didn't make it difficult..i ordered the house specialty pizza...and 12 minutes later...a beautiful large pizza covered in cheese and familiar Italian toppings was at arms length... That was where the rave ended. Toppings were good but not spectacular...the crust was anything but a good pizza crust (not even a solid cook through or buttery bottom....just bland plain dough) Marinara sauce is signature in Italian dishes...including pizza 🍕...and the wife noticed right away...they either forgot to put any...or that's the way they roll with the pizza... Either way...we ate 2 slices each..and the rest our pet pooches enjoyed to the last bite. Will i come back...i should probably just trusted Google reviews 🤔.. NO.. will i recommend it...i would recommend it to people looking for pizza and beer and relaxed ole timer ambience... 3.5 review is Where im at...just can't chose that option... End of review. My family and I just had dinner here for the first time, and it was fantastic! We shared a meat lovers pizza, and it was perfect. From the deliciously sweet red sauce for the pizza to the fluffy crust with the perfect crunch to it, it was so good! The old, rustic feel when you walk in kind of makes you feel like you've walked into. Cheers, and then all of the employees act like family and many of them have been for many years. Years. This place is still owned by the same family who opened it 42 years ago. I can't wait to go back on our next trip here!

Pizza was amazing! We didn’t have to ask for extra cheese because it’s was already cheesy good! 😋🍕 Our server was attentive & wonderful, not only with us, but with every customer. Definitely recommend!

My friend introduced me to this place, and now it’s a tradition for me to visit every time I come to the island. Their pizza is so good, it’s like a mix of Peter pipers and the pizzeria’s almost! I love the cheesiness and it’s never too greasy. They have a nice variety of items on the menu as well! The service here is always great and on point. We had an older lady as our waitress this time around and she was awesome! So friendly and very efficient. The cheesy garlic bread is eh, but their pizza really is excellent. Also, it’s very beautifully decorated and cozy. Can’t wait to come again 😊

For a place that is called a "Pizza Joint", you surely would expect a quality Pizza. However, the Pizza that was so energetically presented was far from it. It was a cheese pizza that had uncooked toppings on it. It was clear that the toppings were not cooked along with the rest of the pizza. It was a sad sight. Total disappointment. The four topping ten slice Pizza came to $36 and change. Total rip-off. I would had been more satisfied with a store bought frozen pizza, out of a microwave. Travelers stay clear!

Made a delivery phone call and Ashely was so sweet and patient while I placed my order. She gave me all the information I needed and gave me prices in advance for I completed my order. She was definitely right about the jalapeno having a spicy kick and I you love it.

The pizza here was amazing. The crust was so crispy and it was extra cheesy. The wings were also excellent. Probably in the my top 3 of wings I've ever tried. If you want good pizza on the island I definitely recommend this pizza joint.

We were told to go check this place out by family that has been before and it did not dissapoint! We started with a Yellow Fin signature cocktail and it was so delicious! 3 of us had their vurger which was a fresh pattied burger on an onion bun with lots of condiments and toppings plus add on options. The 3 of us had sweet potato fries, French fries and fried pickles and all of it was delicious. Our last guest had the teriyaki chicken bites which were also delicious. It took almost no time for our food to come out and the staff was so friendly and fun. Live music started at 6 and the guy singing had an incredible voice. 10/10 recommend, especially if you want to enjoy some drinks and music right on the water!

This bar and grill restaurant is on the bay side. It is a popular spot for those wanting to catch the sunset view. You’ll have to arrive early enough to claim your spot, it does get busy. The entire restaurant is outdoors with some sections offering a covered roof. They often have live music. They will ask you to show your ID. They don’t serve beer on draft. They specialize in cocktail drinks served in a plastic souvenir cup. Their cocktail drinks are not my favorite, but the beach vibes and the sunset make up. They do serve the typical bar food. It’s not the best. At times, it gets too busy for the servers to handle. I’d like to see more staff when the crowd is high. Our server was very overwhelmed trying to serve multiple large groups at the same time.

Always a great place for a sunset, a drink and live entertainment. There is no table service, but the bartenders are friendly, the food is fresh and the entertainment is probably the best on SPI.

Nothing fancy, outdoor deck, we had a couple of Fish and Shrimp baskets that were Good, arrived at 4:30 there was live music, then another band came on at 5pm or so, both were entertaining. Everything was as expected. Went back a couple days later, both days had a little crowd.

We visited SPI this month and Lobo ended up being the whole family's favorite place we ate during our stay! We wanted to eat somewhere on the water and planned dinner around sunset. We originally went to Viva based on reviews but they had an hour wait (on a Thursday evening) so we rerouted to Lobo, which had been our second choice. I'm so glad we ended up there! The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, the view was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great! I got the street tacos, which was an excellent choice - everyone ended up sharing them - but the fish and chips were great too. My daughter got nachos, which she enjoyed, but thought my tacos were even better. We sat outside, which could be risky in the August Texas heat, but there was a great breeze. At some point a live band started playing and then we got treated to a bagpipe performance. So unexpected and awesome! We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Stopped by Lobo Del Mar Café for breakfast. The food was decent—nothing mind-blowing, but solid standard fare. The vibe is a mix of indoor and outdoor dining, with a full bar that starts serving alcohol at 10 AM. They have daily happy hour and offer a military discount, which is appreciated. That said, it’s very clearly a Trump-supporting establishment, with his face and slogans all over the place. Honestly, it could be a really great spot if it wasn’t so politically charged in decor. If you can overlook that, it’s a decent place to grab a bite and a drink.

Had a wonderful experience at Lobo Café Del Mar in South Padre Island! The service was absolutely exceptional, especially from our waiter, Jesus, who was attentive and friendly from start to finish. The food was very freshly made — the fruit was crisp and flavorful, and the omelette was cooked perfectly with fresh eggs and plenty of hearty filling. The mimosas were richly poured, which is always a plus in my book. If you get the chance, definitely sit outside on the patio because the views are magnificent and really add to the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable — you get good quality food without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s a spot worth visiting, and I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town.

The charro beans and rice are incredible. My husband and I both enjoyed the fish tacos as well :) we had Judith V as a server and she was great! Overall atmosphere is nice, but definitely pretty warm if you go there when the sun is out!

Easily the weirdest experience we had dining in SPI. Let’s start out with the parking and cleanliness, both good, lots of options to park and clean. We came into Lobo Del Mar and were seated pretty quickly, tucked into a corner with a perfect view of the sunset. They’re dog friendly on their patio which was a plus as well. We came in before the sun had set and we kid you not the sun set before we had our water or drink orders taken. We waited maybe 15 minutes before going up to a waitress to ask when we’d be served and she took our drink orders five minutes later but didn’t take our food order as it was our designated waiter’s area. Luckily staring at a sunset is a great way to pass the time, otherwise we probably would’ve left at that point. When we finally got to order we got: the fried chicken sandwich with cheese and french fries, a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, a mai tai, and a blue hawaiian. The chicken sandwich was decent, the cheese definitely made it better than without it (they also forgot to put the cheese on it when it came out). It had a good texture and was pretty filling. The fries were good, nothing too crazy. The pulled pork sandwich was good, definitely better than a lot of others we’ve had. The meat was moist and the flavors played well off one another. As for drinks, the mai tai was delicious, one of the better drinks we had during our time here. The blue hawaiian was much the same, pretty good but maybe a bit too much shaved coconut around the rim of the glass, it kept getting in the drink. It’s a shame the service was not very good here because we had a great sunset view and the food/drinks were honestly good too. We just can’t look past waiting 15-20 minutes to get drink orders taken and almost 30 minutes to put our food in. Waters also came during our meal for context. We’re more than happy to try this spot out again in the future, but for now we feel like this is a fair rating.

The food has a great wide selection for all kinds of munchies, great food quality and portions. Whether you want to sit by the bay or next to the dance floor, you get to see the sunset, hear the music and enjoy the soul of Texas! As a person of Celtic descent, I love and get tears in my eyes every Time they play the bagpipes and the national anthem. As a proud supporter of our troops, and our men and blue, it is an institution that I will continue to support and promote. They honor heritage, family and culture… While having a mighty good time! It’s Texas size fun! Great rock or blues or country all the time… Which creates a beautiful ambience of togetherness and fun and you will often see couples coming out to the dance floor and it’s honestly always a good time, Good music, good food, and great people! The beer battered fish and chips were so good and affordable. I arrived hangry and left happy. The margarita may have had something to do with it! It was perfect- not too sweet or acidic. My daughter’s street tacos were good as were the beans a la charra and the rice. We will back this trip for sure! Come with a sense of humor, hungry and ready for live music and bay views!

Friendly patrons, dollars on the wall everywhere. They have TouchTunes if you like to play music. Pool and darts. Everything you’d expect in an Irish pub… Except smithwicks… but you can drink the 5X5 instead.

We went to Kelly’s after a disappointing experience at another place nearby, and it totally turned our night around. The food was amazing and the ambience was great too. It’s a bar, but since we’d already had drinks earlier, we just ordered food and were really impressed. Big shoutout to the female bartender/server who took care of us. She was super friendly, checked in multiple times, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her service made the experience even better. Definitely recommend this spot!!

Food was great! One person running bar and food. Maybe have someone helping, especially on a holiday. Food was really fresh and came out hot.

If i could leave a negative review i absolutely would. I came in and ordered a double Tito’s and lemonade. Bartender asked if i wanted a tall, i said a short. He proceeded to serve me a tall and i brought it to his attention. He immediately took it from my hands and said he won’t serve me because he thought i said “sure” not short. Absolutely uncalled for attitude. Very unprofessional. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Kelly's has a relaxed atmosphere. I had the shepherds pie and it was tasty. Definitely a good place for beer and food.

The food and service were great. Bartender Dave makes spot on perfect drinks and. Is very attentive. Food was really good - their Rueben sandwich was top notch. Pool tables and lots of TV’s to watch sports.. We could not give the atmosphere a five as Dave was unable or unwilling to allow the tv sound / football game on due to jukebox box that had to be on instead during the game…. Even though we were the only individuals in the place initially. So… our search for the perfect SPI sports bar game watching venue continues… but I will be back to Kelley’s as we are regular SPI visitors.

Super chill vibes. The kind of place you go on a quiet date or hangout with your best friends for way too long without interruptions. Definitely come here and put a dollar on the wall.

What is better than ice cream after watching a very successful Starship 10 launch. Loved my banana split. Port Isabel is so great! Then, when I went to leave, I saw the coolest three level go-cart track. I love south texas!!!!

These employees need better communication. We were told to pull around to wait for our food. We waited for about 30 minutes for a single combo. We recieved the wrong order….😐🙄Went inside to ask for refund because at that point, we were too annoyed to even accept a remake, manager was hesitant to give us a refund, then finally ended up giving us refund.

I want to give a big shoutout to this Dairy Queen today! My family and I were heading out of South Padre and stopped here for blizzards. We had some rougher experiences recently at other DQs, especially with how the blizzards turned out. We explained that to the sweet girl at the counter, and she listened and passed that along to her coworkers. Everything came out PERFECT, and the blizzards were mixed well! The communication was great, and we appreciated being heard. This looked like an awesome team at this location! Way to go. You all have a great summer out there!

love the staff and the food i come here most of the time to get my food when i take my lunch but they take a lot of time to come to take my order and i’ve seen it happen to other people and some of the staff just stare and then start doing other things even tho there’s a line and i have only a certain amount of time for my lunch .

The woman at the window was friendly and provided the extra napkins I requested. The wait wasn’t long and the food was hot and delicious when I returned with it to our hotel.

Terrible customer service. It took 25 minutes for them to orders complete. The tried to tell us they had already given us one of the orders. Do NOT recommend

Workers forgot about my order while I was in the drive thru line, had to get down and ask for my order after waiting so long , workers were so lost and didn’t even remember the order , this place needs more responsible people and probably should be drugs tested here.

There is usually a really long wait for this restaurant, but on this particular weekend we got very lucky and the wait for our 8 top was about 30 min. This is a brunch and lunch spot. The place overall gives off a cozy and welcoming feel. The employees were very friendly and polite. Our server provided a very nice experience. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. I highly recommend it. The chilaquiles were very tasty!

Yummy Amazing Food! Great for Breakfast! My boyfriend and I got in pretty early as we were leaving town and wanted a comfty breakfast place to relax before our 4 hour drive. Our server was fast and attentive. She served my coffee in this adorable mermaid mug. The food was a bit of a wait but was well worth it. The prices were affordable and the atmosphere was relaxing. We cant wait to visit again when in town :)

So we came to the island on vacation and the first morning we came for breakfast. The sever (Jessica) was on her game and very knowledgeable. We ordered the crepes as an appetizer. They were lite and delicious. My wife had the country omelette and said it was the best she had (and we had both worked the industry for years). The absolute best of the visit was the Victor Chiliaquiles. I got the best of both worlds with half green and half red sauce. ( green was the best ). Hands down we will come back!

Had breakfast on a Monday morning at 9:30, we had to wait 30. It was really crowded. Service was still good. Ordered pecan pancakes. They were three huge pancakes..I was only able to eat one. They were really good. Ordered orange juice, it was quite a small serving. While it was fresh orange juice, I wouldn't order it again. Parking was hard to find.

We were staying on Padre Island for 10 days. On day 2 we discovered Josephines. We ate there every morning because it is just that good. Consistent quality of food and some of the best servers made this restaurant quickly become one of my and my wife favorite spots. You want to get here early, it fills up quickly because those that know, know how good it is.

*dog friendly* this place was just ok, there is better food on the island and their eggs had a weird taste to them. I did really enjoy the chilaquiles with the black refried beans and the burger was also delicious. The service was the best and there wasn’t a wait to be seated or for our food.

What a wonderful beach restaurant; the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time! Especially enjoyed the waffles. Britany was so happy to take care of all our needs. Will definitely be back!

Our server was great although he had another customer with a long list of allergies that delayed service with us. We ended up ordering the tomatoes & burrata salad and artichoke & mushroom salad. Both were much bigger and more filling than we expected. Very tasty, great flavors, very fresh ingredients. My wife and I ordered the Salted Red Snapper (medium sized ~2.5 lb whole fish) because we’d never tried something like that before and we wanted to eat seafood. It’s cooked in a shell of salt, Parmesan, and other spices. Broken out and filleted tableside, the fish was served with a blood orange sauce which was our favorite part. Our son liked the fish without the sauce.

We had the most wonderful experience here. Best food on the island by far. Amber was our bartender and was so great. She made fantastic suggestions! We got oysters (they were from PEI and not the gulf) and they were so good! We also got the rack of lamb which was probably the best meal we have ever had. Everything was cooked so perfectly. I got the seafood pasta which was also great, but we both liked the lamb better! We had such a great time, we came back a second time and got the filet and short rib pappardelle. Both again were phenomenal. Definitely make a stop here to get some good food while visiting. We will most definitely we back!

We had an exceptionally romantic and beautiful dining experience! This place was recommended by friends for date night and we had the best time enjoying the most delicious food, wonderful service (Raymond), great wine selections and laughter. We will definitely be back!

We visited F&B in South Padre last year and loved it so much that we made sure to come back again during this trip — and it was just as amazing! The service, both then and now, was absolutely top-notch. This time our server was Janette she was amazing! This time I tried the filet mignon tartare for the first time, and it was incredible — it literally melted in my mouth. For my main course, I had the duck, which you can never go wrong with, and we finished off with a rich, delicious chocolate mousse. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and service was perfect. Highly recommend this place — it’s definitely one of our favorites in South Padre!

Superb service and meal. We went out to celebrate my birthday and recent engagement it did not disappoint! The buratta salad , duck and lamb were amazing. Not to mention they made things wonderful for my special day and our amazing waiter even took a picture of us outside after dinner! We will be back so great!!!

F&B has become a must-visit when we go to SPI. The food is fantastic, the service above and beyond, and the atmosphere wonderful. We celebrated my wife's birthday here on our last trip, and everything was excellent, as usual. Marlene has taken care of us the last couple of times and is so incredibly helpful and attentive. We've had the Seafood Risotto and Short Rib Ragu multiple times, and they're both consistently delicious. I loved the Duck Confit & Poached Pear Salad from our first time but haven't seen it since. Who knew duck and candied walnuts were an amazing pair? I didn't. Mussels & Saffron were great on our most recent trip. I'd recommend the side of garlic spinach over the carrots. Cocktails have all been great, especially my gin martinis, which not every place gets right. Excellent selection of quality wines. F&B is expensive, but it's a top-notch dining experience. We'll continue going whenever we're on the island. They really do have a passion for food, drinks, and hospitality.

We had a great experience. Food was excellent, especially the salt crusted snapper. Our waiter was thorough and attentive. Staff flowed well around each other, touching each table to ensure that all guest were well taken care of.

This place was a great find for a Saturday night. There was no wait, and my party of 8 was seated right away at dinner time with a view of the water. We were blessed with great ambience including great live music with a dance floor and we were lucky that there was a fireworks show that night. The service was a bit slow and the waitress came by to check on us just a few times. The food took about 40 minutes to get to us but this is to be expected for a dinner rush. The tacos were good but not over the top, the asada fries were a good choice to pair with them. The drinks packed a great punch and were a decent price. The experience and the view were spectacular, the wait is to be expected especially if you go during dinner in the peak season.

After what felt like an eternity driving down to SPI, we needed to fuel up and decided to hit LongBoard for our first dinner of the trip. There was no wait which was great and we were seated promptly by the waterside along with our dog. The setting is incredible and the restaurant is clean and spacious. There is live music which certainly adds to the ambiance and helps round out the entertainment. The view overlooks the bay and you can easily catch a sundown here without any or much obstruction. Service was quick and attentive, the workers were definitely working hard as they were sweating in the heat, and the place started to fill up after we got there which is always a good sign. A few days later we walked by and it was very packed with a line out front. We walked over there but there is decent parking out front of the restaurant. Now onto the food… It was not good. The All American burger was average, nothing that really stood out about it. The fries were good, which is a plus. However, the fried fish basket was downright awful. It had zero texture, just soft and fell apart at the slightest touch except for one or two parts that felt hard. Tasted like it was frozen and microwaved for the meal. On the other hand, the drinks were pretty good. We had an island colada, mango daiquiri, strawberry daiquiri, and lime margarita. All were very good and had we not just driven so much and had been so tired we likely would’ve gotten more. LongBoard is a decent bar and grill, one that offers great views, service, and drinks. If you’re willing to overlook the iffy food then it really is a great place to kick start or end off a night. Come for the views, stay for the drinks.

Music was good, was able to take my daughter, food came out fast, but it was hot outside I was sweating. The server Bobby made sure we had our drinks always full that did help and he made my birthday fun. Bobby was fantastic: very friendly, attentive, and great at making conversation. Great experience.

Had a late dinner here and the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all good. There was a live band performing on stage when we arrived. We had the ceviche, shrimp tacos, and a vegetable plate. The ceviche and the tacos were well prepared and tasty. The vegetable plate was nicely presented but wasn’t worth the price for the amount of vegetables. It came with some soy sauce on the side. The margarita was average and the service was adequate.

The food was good. They had a live band playing random songs. Waitress was really nice and came by to see if we were good a bunch of times. The night views are nice.

Great experience at the restaurant thanks to Javier, our server! He was welcoming and provided excellent service. Javier had a great attitude and made our dining experience enjoyable. His friendly demeanor and attentive service made a big difference. We appreciated his professionalism and the positive vibes he brought to the table. Highly recommend!

Went on a Sunday, place gets packed! Got lucky since we went kinda early for dinner.. Food was ok at best.. Ordered shrimp po boy with plantains, shrimp tacos, and seafood platter.. only thing I liked from the platter were calamari and shrimp quesadilla.. loaded with Hella fries.. not worth the $70 price tag.. the plantains were good..

Sandwich was fine, items were fresh. Purchased 2 subs and bottle of soda. After paying I asked for a cup, was told they have no complimentary cups and I would be charged the same as if I wanted a drink. Clerk not pleasant. Will use Port Isabel sub-way from now on, they are much friendlier and helpful.

Our sub was perfect even though the lady was crabby making it. Then went to eat and another worker was standing by the soda machine spraying her hair with water and combing it. Then she stood there and braided her hair. I did notice there was a bathroom for that. Or just plain come to work ready to work.

Truly amazing customer service, due to a miscommunication they had to make more sandwiches but they made them and made extra sure they got the order correct, big props to cris and Victoria

I was excited when I went in & they were fixing my sandwich & I saw that they had honey mustard as an option. Back home where I'm from, the Subways have taken away the honey mustard.

the employees are really mean. they were rude and racist. their tone was absolutely not welcoming. we tried being patient but they weren’t at all polite. we asked him to mark the ingredients but he said that he knew what he was doing and wasn’t ready to give it to us until all of them were made, which ended up w him messing up all of our sandwiches. they toasted our bread. way too much and it was very hard to eat. we couldn’t even bite into the sandwiches. all together it was a very unwelcoming atmosphere.

Horrible service and horrible prices. If I could give it a 0 I would. Walked in and felt un welcomed. Female worker didn’t even look at customers or explain she would be right with us. Charged extra for many ingredients and didn’t even let me know. And for a half a sandwich is ridiculous. Asked for a combo and she just charged each item separately making it over priced. Didn’t even explain it would be an extra charge. Way too expensive for just one combo. Ridiculous. At least have some good customer service or quit if you’re not happy. You don’t have to be ruining people’s afternoon with the attitude. Overpriced a bag of chips for like $4-6. Worst experience ever. Don’t waste your time going here.

The young lady who helped us was very friendly, and we enjoyed her sense of humor. The menu was in Spanish, and one of the words I thought was something else. She told me what it was, and we all laughed because I wasn't even close. It was our first night on South Padre Island, and Subway welcomed us no problems and with a sense of calm atmosphere.

I stood at the register for 5 min no one acknowledged me, they were kind of busy so I guess. I decided to order online and save them the trouble, only to see them attend the person who walked in right after I sat down to order online. Sat there for 25 min before walking up to the register to ask about my order, only to get a visibility long sigh from one of the employees before politely asking if I need anything. I asked about my order and he pulled it out of the freezer where it was being kept cold. Overall felt like my family and I weren't wanted there. They weren't rude but totally ignored me. Drinks were good, could have been mixed a little better but were what I ordered at least. I recommend online ordering, and drive through. 08/01/25 @ 2:45pm

Best place to have awesome smoothies. Great friendly staff. Good ambiance. Must try avocado toast and humus veggie, The food is of great quality and it’s reasonably priced. If you are in town, check this place out. Highly recommend ❤️

Not sure what the deal was with this online order, but this is my only experience with this location. I ordered a banana as a side, and they put a dark brown and opened banana in the bag. See photo. Didn’t see it until I got home. This seems like an intentional act of bad service, so I will never be back. Wrap was poorly made too. Don’t bother with this place.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and tasty. Server forget one item we ordered but manager on duty corrected issue and give discount for mistake. I would recommend this place.

This bahama mama bowl is amazing!!! The staff was so kind too. The wind blew the first one on the ground and they were so kind to remake it for me. Best service ever! The Santa Fe chicken dilla was yummy too. All the smoothies we got as well were very yummy!

I’ve never dined in, only through drive through but honestly everytime it’s always been good service. I like that sometimes I can use coupons. The smoothies are good just that it’s kinda overpriced.

This place is pleasant and quiet. The personnel is attentive and friendly. The selection is really good and tasty. I think places like this one brings a refreshing and unique look to South Padre Island. If you are in town dont forget to visit this establishment and enjoy there healthy and nutritious smoothies and try the sandwiches, I recommend the Cuban one, is to die for.

It's by the beach front, relaxing and beautiful view. The food was great, the rocotto sauce was delicious with our yucca. Had the shrimp bisque soup. I poured the rocotto sauce on my dish and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

I got mixed first impressions when I looked at the menu and they have a big variety of foods including sushi options, tacos and Peruvian food. I personally think and with previous experiences with those types of menus that you can get a very bad experience when choosing the wrong menu item. I ordered the ribeye tacos and my boyfriend the Alfredo pasta. I got impressed by the big portions and the good presentation of the food also it was very delicious. Margaritas were also good and I got them in happy hour $5

Clean and nice atmosphere, good service. The lobster and shrimp soups tasted delicious. The disappointment was with one of the plates ordered...the lobster spaghetti didn't have a single piece of lobster, not even the flavor; a total disrespect to my family member as a client expecting to receive a better quality in the preparation of her food. Drinks were okay!

I absolutely love the location and seating areas in this beautiful restaurant, I was also a huge fan of the service everyone was so nice. I think my meal was a little too sweet, the ropa vieja was almost like a meaty dessert… It was rather off putting, it is typically a vinegary dish with olives, and don’t get me wrong- I ate all the meat, didn’t let that go to waste, but I couldn’t really eat the plantains because of how sweet overall the meal was. The sauce didn’t really help balance it either, never had a ropa vieja like this. The calamari on the other hand was phenomenal! I would come back to try something else on the menu. Their drinks looked fantastic as well. $2.75 draft during happy hour was also great.

Cute and absolutely delicious. Drink menu is fine, virgin drinks very good. Both dishes we got were very different but super delicious, fair price, presented nicely. Definitely will be back again.

We found this awesome Peruvian Japanese Restaurant at South Padre Island. It has very delicious food! I love the sauce they have, made from the Aji peppers. The food is very reasonable, and it was also fresh. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. It is a lovely restaurant near the beach. We had Tostones Rellenos for appetizers and I had Coconut Chicken and my husband had Salteado Ribeye. They were very good with a nice exotic taste. We will definitely be back!

The food was delicious. Good service! It is a mix between Peruvian and Mexican flavors.

We had a great time at this restaurant with its beautiful ocean view. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We ordered shrimp and some drinks — everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive. I’ve heard it’s even more fun at night, with music and a livelier crowd. Looking forward to coming back!

This is a nice place on the laguna side of south Padre Island. At first it seemed to be a typical beach bar but food and drinks were surprisingly good. Great view of the laguna with a variety of patio shade options. There was a stage and, I suspect, it is a flat-out college beach bar during spring break.

Plenty of parking and seating and the live entertainment was great. But they were deceptive on happy hour pricing and they charged a 3% fee for credit card and did not tell ahead of time. Sorry, this did it for me. I won't be back.

If we could give 10 ⭐️ we would!! Highly recommend lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Clean, great food and service. And the best part is it’s right on the water and you get the fabulous breezes and views 11-2 am

What a great gem for us to find. Or maybe not a gem since it’s well known, but whatever. Tequila Sunset Bar & Grill is a fantastic spot to do it all. Watch the game, see live music, catch the fireworks; you can quite literally do that all here, plus watch the sunset too as the name implies. Parking is pretty abundant outfront and the place is very clean with a nice, open layout. The outdoor patio is dog friendly which is a plus since we never forget our furry friend. Onto the food, we ordered corn dogs with a side of french fries and their Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap. Their corn dogs were solid as were the fries. It came out extremely hot which made it a bit difficult to eat but you can never really complain about a hot meal at the end of the day. As for the Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap, it was absolutely fantastic. We were actually a bit blown away by how good it was since our food experience in SPI to that point was not very good, but this was downright great from the chicken to the tortilla and everything in between. On the drinks side, we ordered three: a piña colada, mango daiquiri, and banana foster’s colada. All of the drinks were okay, nothing too special to note other than the fact that they didn’t really feel like they had that much alcohol in them. To some that can be a good thing, but on these they just felt like they were a light pour more than so sweet you can’t taste it. Other than that, our experience here at Tequila Sunset was great. Drinks were decent, food was great, and what a view. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in the area.

Enjoyed a nice weekend lunch here. The outdoor seating was very nice with beautiful views overlooking the water. They had an excellent live performer. Service was quick and efficient. Fried pickle appetizer was delicious. Fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, fries were yummy. Fish tacos were a bit disappointing, as was the salsa. Overall a nice place to have lunch, with typical grill food.

Disappointed in the service and atmosphere. I have 2 autistic sons. 6 and 5. Both went to the female restroom and the security guard demanded they go to the men's restroom. Absolutely not. They are children and on the spectrum. When I asked for the manager, management took forever. A clear sign that they dont care. Let's do better. Waiter took 15 mins to give us menus. And another 15 for our drink order. Never came back to ask about our drinks, we had to go to the bar for service. For the amount of money you spend, its a disappointment.

My wife and I stopped by for the inaugural breakfast. The food was fantastic. My wife had the Migas and I had the Chilaquiles. She also got a side of hash browns and a Mimosa. As expected, the service was a little slower than normal because the turnout was much better than expected.

Continuing our everlong love of all things breakfast, we headed to Jake’s to satisfy a hankering desire for pancakes. Here’s what we saw: From the outside the restaurant looks good with a dog friendly patio and decent parking around the side of the building. The inside is clean and well maintained with a few TVs to catch games. We sat outside since we had our dog with us and our server was fantastic. He had a lot of jokes, knew when to give us space, and was just incredibly attentive all around. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ran out. The food was very mediocre, granted they just started serving breakfast recently so they’re probably trying to work the kinks out. We ordered the pancake breakfast with breakfast potatoes, bacon, and Texas toast as well as the chillaquiles with beef fajita. The pancakes were very thin and chewy, definitely not a high quality batter and not moist. The bacon likewise was chewy and the toast was, well, toast. The best part of the dish were the breakfast potatoes which had a good texture and flavor to them. As for the chillaquiles, it was decent. A bit of a messy plate but nothing that took away from the meal. The beans, tortilla chips, etc were good but the best part was the beef fajita, seasoned well and pretty juicy. Again, it’s hard to write this place off as a 3 star because we think they’re a work in progress on the breakfast side and likely have better food on other parts of the menu, we can just only write about our experience. Service was phenomenal, that cannot be understated. Likely a place we will try again if ever back in SPI and hopefully we can rate higher next time!

I came here with my mom for lunch. We wanted a simple and delicious fish sandwich and that’s what we got. I also needed a dog friendly place as we had my dog, so that was great. The service was great, and the food was excellent. We both ordered the fish po boys. I also appreciated that the bread for the sandwiches was not extremely thick like most po boys. The restaurant had a nice layout, and we’re glad to have discovered this place. We will be back!

Amazing food!!! I got the seafood platter, and it was soooo much food. Everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the spicy pickle fries as an appetizer, and they were just as good. The service was exceptional. The staff was very attentive and kept our drinks full. I would highly recommend grabbing some food here!

I liked the live music. Service was ok. Onion rings and burger were good. The rest of the food was bland. The indoor vibe was a little strange idk if it’s cause the place looks old or what but I wouldn’t recommend it

A Hidden Gem with the Best Beef Tacos in Town! 🌮🔥 I've been to Jake's Restaurant and Bar five times now, and I have to say—I've found my go-to dish. On my first visit, I ordered the Mexican plate, which came with one beef taco 🌮. That one taco was so good that every visit since, I’ve taken to ordering the three beef taco entrée—because one taco 🌮 just wasn’t enough! These tacos 🌮 are packed with flavor—the spices, the way the beef is cooked, and the generous portions of fresh ingredients make every bite amazing. I like to add sour cream and guacamole, and with a side of rice and my choice of refried or charro beans, it’s always a hearty, satisfying meal. And at just $12? Absolute steal! Beyond the food, the service is top-notch. The servers are attentive, friendly, and quick to offer recommendations. A server nicknamed Cricket has helped me multiple times and always made me feel welcome—asking about my time here, where I’m from, and making sure I had everything I needed. One standout moment: They let me bring my dog, Samantha, into the bar area on a warm 85-degree day. We both got to enjoy the A/C, some amazing tacos 🌮, and a relaxing time at the bar. That kind of hospitality is rare and much appreciated! If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Jake’s is a must-visit. And trust me—get the three beef tacos! 🌮🌮🌮

Had a very positive experience last night! Boston was our server and he took care of us well. They were short staffed and he was working bar and serving, but he tended to us amazingly. We are on a very short trip to SPI and he definitely added some good vibes to our trip. Food was really good, I recommend the fish tacos!

I highly recommend this place! Their food tastes fresh and contains amazing flavors. The ambiance is great, very clean and very beautiful inside. Our server was beyond great and made the experience absolutely perfect. They also have an amazing mimosa selection (we recommend orange juice with a splash of raspberry) and the views outside are incredible. Other restaurants on this island should take notes from this place. 10/10 loved!!!

Definitely the Best Restaurant on the Island. Food was exceptionally delicious, savory and hot when it got to our table. I recommend anyone to come out here and give it a whirl, you will not be disappointed. For an open air concept of a restaurant, this restaurant was not only fresh, it has a beautiful waterfront, super clean dinning area, and a very clean restrooms. Service was excellent, and great attention but not bothersome.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Seafood tastes like it was fresh from the ocean Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the House Guacamole which comes with pomegranate seeds that provides a refreshing pop of sweetness. Also, the Fish Tacos (Flounder, purple cabbage, pico, spicy mayo) were outstanding. The crispy veggies were perfect on a hot summer day. The servers provided the perfect amount of attention to ensure our meal and time spent was amazing.

We had a great experience here. It's a very beautiful establishment. The tables were pristine and well shaded. The menu offered a great variety of dishes. The service was top notch for us that day as well. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a posh experience at South Padre. They have a nice kids menu as well.

First time checking this place out. Think it was renamed. The food was really good. The burger is worth the money. It was delicious. The perfect amount of crispy and savory. The tacos were full of flavor. The shrimp tacos were nice size. I enjoyed our visit along with my family. Definitely worth another visit.

We did not had a reservation and the hostess said 1 hour wait. Which we agreed party for 3 At the end we waited 2 hours for a table and whenever I approached the hostess stand she said we are getting a table ready They had no idea of their time line, should have told us that it was going to be 1-2 hours We were sat by 9:30pm and ordered appetizers some how I went to the restroom and the busboy came by and had clear out app plates, napkins and silverware like rushing us out the restaurant close at 10pm and we had not ever got our entrees. You would think that the someone should have told the manager that we waited 2 hours and he should have stopped at our table but no. He was just hanging around the hostess stand. Emmanuel our server was aware of our situation and when above and beyond for us enjoy our time he was on top of things Out of all the staff there Emmanuel was the ONLY ONE that really cared for the customer satisfaction Food was not really worth the wait but Emmanuel top notch service was superb

The tacos were delicious and well served. The service was friendly and the food was out super fast! There were big parties around and I noticed that their food came out just as fast. The views during the sunset are amazing!

The ice cream sundaes were great, but the two guys working, were odd and seemed 'off'. We were trying to figure out if they were high, but can't say for sure. The experience was a turn off, and we will try another ice cream place next time we visit.

This is an island, I expect diversity/adaptability/high energy because you want people to return. The employees make the experience and unfortunately they didn’t create a positive environment for me or my family. The gentleman needs to work on keeping a smile and positive attitude. The woman at the register needs more confidence and the one scooping needs to smile as well. It’s not that serious, just saying. I hope this experience never happens to others and the rest will enjoy the experience at KIC’S 💚🫶🏻

Very chill ice cream place! Def recommend here more than the other shops. Less crowded and friendly service. We even got a nice free ice cream with our purchase. They even got Hawaii’s Dole whip!

I loved this Ice Cream shop!! They had lots of yummy flavors and even Dole Whip! If you want some dessert or like me you were out shopping and wanted a treat, stop in. The tables outside to eat were very nice to enjoy some sunshine and taking a. Ice cream break.

We order ice cream and they have a very good variety. Floats only with ice cream. They didn’t have traditional float, which means coke and lemon sherbet. That is why I’m giving them 4 stars, amiable and friendly service. Easy access for disabled people. If you are a fan of pineapple, this is your place. We have a good experience, come and visit!

We will definitely be back! I ordered the Tex-Mex chicken enchiladas with charro beans. While the enchiladas were a little bland on their own, the salsa that came with the meal added great flavor. The rice and beans were also very good. My husband had the breakfast taco and really enjoyed it—it was huge! I didn’t catch our server’s name, but he was also tending the bar. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. His positive energy really stood out, and he made sure we had a great dining experience. The restaurant itself was very clean and decorated with beautiful artwork that appeared to be for sale. Overall, 10/10!

The cutest little spot, but the food is truly delicious. Been going to the island for years and this was the first time I’ve been here. The Poblano Fish Enchiladas were recommended by a friend and the waitress, and they were really good. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp and fish with veggies, and the flavor was incredible. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Kids meals were large in size and yummy too. It was hard to resist my sons burger, looked really good!

The place is very nice and has a pleasant atmosphere. The service was fine, although it could improve in attention to detail. The food was good, but I had an issue: I ordered a shrimp taco bowl and was served a fish one. I’m not sure if it was a kitchen error or a mistake when taking the order. Since I don’t like fish, I would have appreciated if someone had come by to check if everything was okay, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very full at the time.

So good! We brought our own catch (drum) and got it 3 ways, blackened fish tacos (some of the best I've had!), fried, and grilled. We also got shrimp 3 ways and the coconut shrimp and zucchini were perfection. The drinks were also great and the fried calamari had great flavors. The ambiance was so cute and great service. We come to South Padre every May and will be back at Nautico next year!

The Island experience coupled with lunch or dinner at this establishment makes it a complete visit at South Padre Island. The ambience is unique and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and being greeted outside prior to entering, so that your table is prepared, is calming to the mind. The coffee (yes, coffee) is delicious. The coconut shrimp is amazing as is the calamari! The menu of variety will not disappoint. Must visit at least twice!

This place is a cute little find on the island. Their drinks and service were amazing. Huge disappointment on the food. Their fish and shrimp tasted weird. I couldn’t put my finger on why, my fiancé mentioned maybe the fish was frozen (it reminded me of bleach). I couldn’t eat the fish at all. Very sad considering this is the island. I hope they do better in their food department! Also their side dishes are really odd choices as they do not pair too well with seafood. Would suggest better side options to pair with seafood. *Slight update per owner’s response: this place was extremely busy (understandable per holiday weekend). No one asked how the food was (although a restaurant should practice doing this in day to day operations), if they did I would have been very honest. Not sure how to remedy very apparent mediocre food though. We were extremely disappointed considering fresh seafood shouldn’t be that hard to come by here. Side recommendations: Cole slaw, hush puppies, additional shrimp, cold octopus salad, cold seafood side salads, baked potato, macaroni and cheese, etc.

We stumbled upon Nautico Island Grill almost by accident, looking for a quick place to eat lunch with our dog, and we’re glad we found it because it was pretty good. Parking is solid, they have a lot just to the side of the restaurant and it is clean inside and out. As mentioned, we had our dog so we ate outside on their patio and it was pretty hot. They do have a hose to fill a dog bowl on the patio, but just be aware that even with an umbrella to cover the sun it was still very hot. The service was quick and good too, all positive signs before we got to our food arriving. Our food came out pretty quick. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with a side of their soup of the day, which was a lobster bisque, and their Nauti’s fish tacos. Both meals were great. The fettuccine alfredo was creamy, a great texture with every bite and very filling. It came with a little bread that didn’t add much but it’s something. The lobster bisque was not that great, thin and overly “fishy”, yeah we get it’s lobster but it tasted artificial. As for the fish tacos, they were the single best meal we had in SPI. They were perfect in every way from texture to taste and size, just an absolute home run on it. We got a side of mashed potatoes with it but were too busy devouring the tacos to even pay it any mind. Lastly, we got a pina colada and mango daiquiri, both of which were among the best we had at the bars in SPI. This was a great lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it all was. This is a place it pains not to give a five star to. We try to reserve our fives so they have a bit more weight on the experience and/or taste and quality of food, but this is pretty close to it. The one thing we would recommend is addressing the heat outside as it’s right off the main street and very hot but this is a place we very highly recommend to anyone in SPI or looking to go here and planning it out.

We’ve had barbecue across the country over the years, including from the most famous places in St. Louis and Kansas City. This place beats those out. It was one of the best barbecue meals I’ve ever had. Brisket, pulled pork, and ribs were phenomenal. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and it is a must visit on the island.

What a find! The BBQ and Sides are great! The portions were more than expected! The meat had great flavor and a perfect smoke ring. We just happened to stop by on launch day, "Dinner Bonus." We saved 12 bucks on parking. I would label Porkys a must-try if you like BBQ!

Definitely the best food I’ve had since I been on “the island”. Nice people I dig the food trailer picnic table atmosphere and the price is about right for bar b q of this portion as served. But hey…screw this humidity. When ice water isn’t cold, a cool ocean breeze isn’t, and there’s more traffic than on the drive through San Antonio to get here!? No tropical laid back paradise…like a bunch of drunk rats racing around a small cage. Hurricane anyone!?

My family and I loved the food although we were given the bottom of the pot of Charro Beans and got mostly bean juice with a little Cilantro and pieces of Sausage. We would expect them to offer another side since they ran out of beans instead of giving us the bottom of the pot. * You all really owe us a side next time we come. * The meat was tender , flavorful , and juicy. The potato salad was good. It tastes better on this sandwich I put together. Thankfully we got a reasonable ratio of meat and fat. The fat brings out more flavor. The barbecue sauce was good. Nonetheless , It was heavy on the spices , so beware that it does trigger heart burn. The meat honestly is good without it. S.N. : They also give 6 Hamburger Buns out of an 8 pack Hamburger Buns, Sweet Onions , Dill Pickle Slices , 1 Jalapeno cut into fours for each meat , and 2 containers of Barbecue Sauce. We got the family pack that cost $70. The Loaded Mac and Cheese with Sausage was an additional $5 , so our total was $75.

I ordered nachos with pulled pork. It was very very good! I got the large and it was a lot of food. The only way to make them better would be to add fixings like lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, etc. I didn't see options for these. I would eat here again. Service was fantastic!

What an absolute treasure of a find! One of the best little spots in South Padre. The customer service is second to none. Very knowledgeable and friendly for those who dont know much about wine. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy with comfortable seating and board games if you're interested. The food was INCREDIBLE. We had the charcuterie board and the margarita flatbread. Both were delicious and amazing. We cannot recommend this place enough. Half price select wines on Wednesdays! This is a must for anyone in South Padre.

The only “upscale bar” we were able to find on SPI. A “lounge” setting with intimate seating and a cool vibe. Very knowledgeable staff! We each had a wine flight. After asking each of us what types of wines we most enjoy, our server tailored wine flights to each of our tastes. They also serve food. We had the Strawberry Feta Salad and the Pepperoni Flat Bread. Both were excellent! The chill vibe and the art covered walls make this wine bar a “must” any time you are in South Padre!

What an amazing establishment! We booked a birthday party there and Randy made it so personalized. We had the grazing charcuterie board and champagne. It was super quaint and peaceful. We were able to carry on conversations and throughly enjoy our time.

If you haven’t tried the SPI Wine Bar, wow, you are missing a spectacular experience! If you are like me and you love charcuterie trays, fresh strawberry salad, baked Brie, buttery shrimp, and incredible flatbread, SPI Wine Bar is the place to go. The wine selection, and the knowledgeable commentary from Jessica, is terrific, but this place isn’t just for wine drinkers. There is also beer, try a mango mimosa, or just have a Coke! There is also lovely local artwork on display which you can make your own. SPI Wine Bar is located next door to SPI Hardware. Say no to fomo. Check it out!

Sweeet! Choose your favorite cookie(s) and a large portion of your favorite ice cream in between! Mixing and matching several flavors did not seem to be a problem and was encouraged. Add toppings for a truly decadent treat. The cookies were made fresh, soft, and delicious, and are warmed-up if you so desire. They cut the whole thing nicely in half for sharing. The sandwich was easy to eat by hand, or with a spoon while in the cardboard serving boat. One was enough to share by two and cost around $8.50. The place was extremely clean and comfortable. The ice cream can also be served atop a brownie or chocolate chip cookie bed. And both the ice creams and cookies are all specially made for this establishment. The staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the choices — very accommodating. Nice cozy shaded patio deck out front. Easy to find, just off South Padre Blvd. A great dessert experience not to be passed up!

Service was outstanding! Atmosphere was friendly and fun! Great for couples, singles, and families! Food?? Out of this world!!! Completely amazing! Both of my teenage daughters gave it 10 stars! The cookie selection was fabulous. The ice cream choices were so good. Then you can add a topping too. It was absolutely the best thing we have had on the island this far. We will definitely be back before we leave. So we decided we loved it so much, we went back before leaving town. It did not disappoint. I can confidently say, this is my favorite sweet stop on the island. We got different ice cream sandwiches this time and a half dozen cookies to take with us on the road home. I really wanted one of every cookie, but that’s too much for this momma. You have to try it. They have non-dairy options as well. There’s something for everyone. This is on my bucket list to go back to when we RV full time. I also want to emphasize that the staff is amazing!! There were some difficult folks that came in last time and the staff handled it with poise and professionalism. Ten stars!!!

We got take out 2 nights in a row. Friendly staff, restaurant empty first night, a 5 top the second. Our pepperoni pizza crust was soaked soggy with oil in the center on the first visit, and tasty. Greasier than preferred, but a decent pie. The second night oil didn’t penetrate the crust, but the bottom was too burned for my tastes. My friend thought it was fine, but I tasted the burn. I’m going to give this a Meh. Could be better, could be worse.

Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. They warned us about a 45-1 hour wait, but it ended up being over an hour. Pizza tasted great but not worth the wait for one pie. Also had way too much crust. Paid for a large but could have been a medium in terms of proportion

Sorry, but what about this pizza is considered New York style? This is like heated up Digiorno from the freezer section or Pizza Hut pan pizza. Canned mushrooms, for a pizza joint charging over $15 for a personal size? Really? I’m not sure if this restaurant completely changed staff from the last recent reviews, but how this place and food is highly rated is baffling. We picked up on a Friday night and they decided to cancel our order of Stromboli because they didn’t have the stuff to make it. Hope to see that refund, fingers crossed! Guess they must’ve opted to cheap out on other pizza ingredients too because this has to be a complete joke to charge these prices for something I can get from the freezer section in the grocery store. Defs will not be back.

Probably the best pizza you will find in the area. Good dough, good sauce, good cheese with a good amount of toppings with plenty of flavor. You can’t go wrong ordering from here.

It was my first time here after getting like 3 recommendations to come here. The worker gave us a sample and ooh it was so good!! We ended up getting a Brazilian Bowl and a Maui Wowie both small sizes. The girl was so nice for our first experience and letting us know what to try and how we can also customize. We come here every time we visit SPI—multiple times per trip! The açaí is incredibly smooth, honestly the best I’ve ever had. The fruit is always fresh, and every bowl I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. Such a refreshing and satisfying spot to cool off on a hot day!

This store makes you feel like you step back in time.. It’s the only real grocery store on the island I think… We definitely don’t eat GMO food and that’s definitely the main downfall for us! They do offer a great selection of things you would need on vacation. FYI wine in the picture I posted is a MUST try! Not expensive or fancy just smooth and good.

Decent store but i would avoid. Shopping here causes unnecessary trouble due to the extremely rude workers. Listen to the comments and go to HEB. You will be here for 10 minutes getting dirty looks from workers while refusing you help. The people in line and I were astonished by the service. All I have to say is train your staff better and prioritize customer service. Don’t come here if you want an easy and quick experience.

It's an island super market. They have all the basics. The prices are high, but not unreasonable. Unless you're wanting to shop for bulk items or other mainstay reasons this is a perfect super market.

We stayed at the Beach House condo for our mini getaway, and this supermarket was only 2 minutes away. I loved it. Convenient, and they had everything we needed to get, so we didn't have to drive far.

After driving 9 hours, we prefer Blue Marlin. Small store compared to walmart and close to our condo. Still has everything we like. The prices are a little higher but quicker to get in and out. Been going there since 2013. ❤️

While vacationing, we visited this store for a few essential items. The store is clean and has a good selection. However, the staff is incredibly rude and acted like we were disrupting their day by shopping. Next time I’d rather just drive over to Pory Isabel and shop at HEB.

the food was great! everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. and the drinks were so good. we loved the restaurant vibes. we went during brunch hours and there was a photographer who took some couple photos and printed them for us. would definitely recommend :)

Isla Balli is such a gem! We stopped by for breakfast and had the Balli Eggs and the breakfast sandwich — both were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The Americano hit the spot and came with a charming little setup that made the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere is bright, airy, and calming, with thoughtful design touches like hanging greenery and cozy seating that make you want to linger. Every corner of the space is Instagram-worthy! Service was friendly and attentive — McKayla made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, delicious brunch spot!

In most restaurants the taste of the water will probably also determine the taste of the food. In this case Isla Balli got it right. Everything is very well done. Food, ambience and service!! Will definitely come back. $$$ price but they deliver. Food amount was great drinks were good and our server Esmeralda was cheerful and prompt to service us!!

This place is absolutely amazing! We ended up coming twice in the same day! Started with breakfast. I had the chilaquiles with chicken and they were delicious. Service was impeccable. We sat at the bar. Everything was super clean. Loved it so much we came back for lunch! Food was reasonably priced. Second time we came I had the Neto wagyu burger it was cooked perfectly, double meat. My husband had the Ballis eggs, it had fajitas and eggs on a bed of chips with red chile sauce. The drinks were spot on, our bartender was attentive and made amazing Drinks! I can’t wait to come back!

A very nice, new brunch spot off the beaten path. Wasn't too crowded with people, only a 5-10 min wait, and the fluffiest pancakes on the island I've ever had! Had the Salmon Toast with an over easy egg (because we can all use a little extra protein in our lives!). A nice seated area outside with fans blowing. Don't skip this new brunch spot!

Open kitchen is a good sign. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Very expensive for what you get. Great service. Had the Wagyu burger which was good, but for $22 is should be great. Not seasoned at all. Fries weren't cooked well either. Wife had the salmon toast (I think) but it didn't match up with the menu items. Wasn't bad, but not great either. Overall, might try Isla Balli for breakfast next time we're in SPI, but probably not for lunch.

Literally the best experience i’ve ever had in a restaurant. The sandwich was delicious and you can tell it was made with genuine love and enjoyment. Outside of the food, the service stood out to me. We had the best conversation with the owners and were given the best experience I’ve ever had in the restaurant world. Makes us sad we don’t live here to enjoy these sandwiches everyday. Y’all, I have missed a good sandwich place since Psychadeli all those years ago. SeaSide Sammies is definitely filling that hole in island food offerings. I got a turkey and provolone on white with hummus, avocado and sprouts. It’s so good. They have really cool stuff, too, like $5 sunglasses for the beach.

Finally! A great sandwich shop on the island. Featuring Boar’s Head meats, cheeses, and spreads, this place is the premier deli in the area. Pastrami, Roast beef, Capicola, and more. I don't usually write reviews, but I just had the tuna salad sandwich, and it's hands down the best on the island. No contest. Employees are so sweet and super helpful. I'm definitely coming back—you HAVE to try this place!

Captain’s Cove Oyster Bar is truly a gem. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food is absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great seafood and a memorable dining experience.

I have been vacationing to S. Padre since the 80’s. Hands down my new favorite restaurant. Incredible drinks, apps, oysters, adult & kid meals. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is beautiful! The atmosphere was perfect for a quick lunch to or from a day at the beach or an evening date. We ordered Grilled Salmon and Jumbo sea scallops. Also, had a delicious cocktail called Topic Like it’s Hot. The food was amazing, however the portion on the scallops was underwhelming. They were 3 scallops atop some creamed spinach and puree. They were delicious however for $45 it was disappointing to leave still hungry. It was basically an appetizer for 1. The Grilled Salmon on the other hand! WOW! Probably one of the BEST grilled salmon I have ever had! It was a perfect portion size, filling and reasonably priced. Would go back and recommend!

New Fav restaurant at SPI! We've been coming to the island for 30 years and it's rare for a new place to stand out from the crowd - but wow, just wow - we loved Captain's Cove! We are not oyster fans, so don't let the name deter you if you don't like oysters either! Lots of other good options on the menu. The wine list is simple but delightful and fairly priced. We had a bottle of the Bodega Albariño and it was delightful! We ordered the Salmon and the Fish Tacos and enjoyed both but the tacos were our fav! We ordered the homemade chips with it - they were great. The crème brûlée was perfect - just the right amount of warm and cold! The ambiance is wonderful- light, bright and nautical! Service was attentive! So happy to have this new option at SPI - we will be back!!

Food was good. The calamari was Delicious and soft. Service was very good 👍. Shrimp 🍤 with bacon 🥓 was Delicious Atmosphere was Excellent. The view from my Table. Seeing the water and South Padre Island in the background was Excellent. 2 boats arrive when we eating. Very good experience, recommended 👌.

Came here for Dinner with the family. I have been here multiple times and the last visit was better than other visits. The food was great, as expected. Service was great as expected, but on this visit there was a guy doing table magic. Krookedhands was his business name. He came over after we ordered and were waiting for our food. Said there's no pressure as he's being paid by the restaurant to do table magic for customers. His card tricks and slight of hand tricks were fantastic! Kids were very entertained and my wife and I were as well. It wasn't hokey card tricks but rather top level stuff. He received a nice tip for the show he put on for us. Food came and it was delicious! I ordered shrimp tacos and ate 1 of the 3 before taking a picture. We will be back for more food and more magic tricks!

Food was super fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was great. Sat outside and enjoyed the view. There was 5 of us and we order a bunch of food and the wait staff kept up without a miss.

Me and my family always make this a stop when we visit the Island & the food never disappoints! I got the buffalo bird sandwich with fries. The chicken was juicy and crispy & the Louisiana sauce is a perfect touch but doesn't make the sandwich spicy at all. The fries are 10/10 though! Picture chik-fil-a fries, but, seasoned & perfectly crispy! Service was great as well!

We had a great time here are server was amazing so kind and helpful he was helping many people all at once. The food is good my husband had a whole red snapper fried I had the chicken fried chicken and our son had the alfredo. We enjoyed our meals.

Well, Dirty Al bought this place out and made the current owner a deal she couldn't refuse. This restaurant will be closing its doors very soon. Needless to say, I really hate to be a downer, but holy crud. Today was completely horrible. The service was incredibly lacking. Zero refills on ice tea and coffee. $60.00 and didn't even order alcohol. The food was ice cold . Its like nobody knew what to do! We have eaten here numerous times. Today was a complete Poop show. It's a shame, this restaurant is normally very good We shall see what Dirty Al has up his sleeve. Plotted. Scouts Out.

Awesome place to eat. They staff is great and very accommodating. One person in our party wanted a drink that was not on the menu. Our server made an off the menu suggestion which turned out to be great. Food is amazing. We made reservations which I would suggest if going on the weekend for dinner. Dress is casual. Had a wonderful dinner in this newly remodeled restaurant with new menu. The restaurant has been redone in pale gray blue and white tones. Nice outside area that faces the lighthouse. We started with an Italian margarita- excellent and the complimentary bread - focaccia- fresh and great herb mixture. Then we tried the Rockefeller’s trio which was a yummy mixture of shrimp, lobster, oysters, spinach and bacon. Not a lot of oysters or lobster but tasted wonderful - can get without oysters. I had the 16oz rib eye which had a great smoky flavor; came with potatoes and steamed vegetables with soup or salad choice. We both choose the corn chowder which was creamy with a hint of chicken. Husband had the seafood crepes - which was light stuffed with seafood and a creamy sauce that did not overwhelm the seafood (shrimp, crab and scallops). We also had the molten chocolate cake which was more than enough to share. Comes with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Restaurant was quiet. There is a bar to the right when you walk in as well as the outside seating. While we were there a family came in so high chairs were available. Prices were in the higher mid range with dinners running from $15 to $30. They accept credit cards. We were seated at the window facing the lighthouse. The restaurant is located on the Port Isabel square right off the main road that leads to bridge. We went back for Sunday brunch. They had nice soothing music in the background and different menu. I had crab cake eggs Benedict with lobster sauce which was very yummy. Adam has chicken and waffles with Maker’s Mark sauce. All was yummy with good service and still a great view of the lighthouse. Came back again for lunch for the lobster roll. Lobster is flown in fresh daily and the roll is soft and delicious. I get it with fruit but it comes with fries or chips. Ate outside so nice

Hidden Gem! The location is perfect if you’re visiting the lighthouse or out on a date. The food and atmosphere are amazing. Acoustic guitar and friendly service are on point. We will return in the future!

Came on New Year’s Eve and they had a special menu. Had a great evening with friends and everything tasted spectacular! Service was divine and can’t wait to go back! We even got to hang out with JuanTrout!

Great bread for starters garlic and crispy with fresh marinara sauce. Ordered the pepperoni pizza with jalapeños it was nice and crispy with a great tasting dough and perfectly cooked crust. Love the bar area great TV to watch some sports. Great environment right next door to the lighthouse really cool views and neat lounge area inside the bar area with comfy chairs and different seating all over. Great place!!!!

Had an excellent dinner her with my wife. The meal started with thick, warm, fluffy, complimentary garlic bread that was excellent. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Al Forno that was served with dipping bread; it was also very good but the flavors were a little subdued. I then got the crab bisque soup and my wife the salad with Italian dressing. The bisque was phenomenal, and while her salad itself was very underwhelming, my wife loved how tart their dressing was. For the entree I got the Pecan Crusted Salmon which was an outstanding blending of flavors with the fish, pecans and coulis. My wife got the Chicken Picatta and really liked the dish but thought the sauce could use a little more zest. We finished the meal by splitting a slice of tarimisu that we enjoyed. Overall the service was good but there was a long wait between finishing our meal a getting our check (10+ min), in which our waitress came in and out of the room three times ignoring us.

We waited 10-15 min for our drink order to be taken and and then another 5 to receive them. They were short staffed though you could tell, the waitress was extremely nice, you could tell she was just stretched thin. The food for the price was high conpared to how poorly it was made and of poor quality, we both got the surf and turf, the steak was $10 quality and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery unfortunately.. Great view, poor food, won't return

Food was really good and service was fast after they could get to us. It's a somewhat busy place, so prepare to wait a minute. The server was very nice, and with our crazy ass child that needed a nap, she was very patient. My only 2 complaints were the hard seats and the mean mugging boomers. All good though.

We had a good dining experience they cooked and cleaned the fish we had caught. We tried blackened and grilled both were great! Service was quick and our food was out very quick!

Great place with great food. I would give it 5 stars across the board, but it can get loud at times. The shrimp basket is fantastic and always one of my favorites. The fish is wonderful also. We always go to Dirty Al's when in Brownsville or South Padre Island.

Stopped in on a Friday evening on our way to SPI. Had a delicious meal, Ceviche was fresh and served promptly. Also enjoyed a 4 meat plate with fresh coleslaw and hush puppies. All the items were flavorful and enjoyed every bit. Carlos, our server was great help. Recommend you try it.

Stop by for a late lunch. Felt great to get out of the heat. The sweet tea really hit the spot. I ordered the special, breaded shrimp with a side of fries and coleslaw. The shrimp were good but what really caught my attention was the cocktail sauce. It was very good. I drenched all of my shrimps in it including the fries. My goal now is to replicate that sauce. We really loved it here. Everything was super fresh. We had crab cakes and shrimp po-boys. The seafood soup to start was a great beginning to an amazing meal. We are planning on going back tomorrow before we leave town.

Had dinner at Los Tortugos in Port Isabel, South Padre, and it was a seafood feast to remember. From mouthwatering platters loaded with fresh catches to a just-caught red snapper grilled like a dream, every bite was pure bliss. The lively vibes made the night even better,highly recommend if you’re ready to treat your taste buds.

Stopped in for fish tacos on a Sunday. The place was crazy busy but we were texted when our table was ready, which was nice. Fish tacos were spectacular! Full of flavor and good portions. Toppings were plentiful and sides (beans / rice) were flavorful. Also got a shrimp and fish ceviche, which was very good. Great acidity and adequate portion sizes, even for sharing. Be aware that the restaurant can be very noisy inside though, but don't let that deter you from some killer fish tacos!

Order the ceviche with fish, shrimp and calamari it is delicious! I’m a lime addict meaning I have to squeeze so many limes to my ceviche but here I don’t have to. The intense flavor of lime on the ceviche is fantastic. This is the only ceviche I’ve ever had that tastes this good. This place is a restaurant and a seafood market. If you are headed to beach and would like to pick up ceviche to go. You can pick it up next door at the seafood market. I recommend everyone to give this place a try.

We were on the island for the weekend chrome in the sand event and wanted to try a good seafood restaurant. It took them a minute to seat us. They do give you chips and a little soup while you wait for your food to arrive. For appetizer we got the oysters on the half shell which I dressed up. Oysters were great! It was a Friday so the seafood soup was on the board which I ordered and it was filled with so much seafood it was amazing! My boyfriend ordered the number 4 plate with fish, shrimp, oysters, and calamari. His plate was very delicious also. His plate was fresh fried so he gave me some to taste and the calamari was so good I wish we ordered some for the appetizer. They have a fresh seafood market there you can buy your fish and they will cook it as well. I highly recommend this place. Next time we come again to the area we are going again to this quaint local restaurant.

First thing I see when I sit down at table #4. A cockroach just walking the wall back and forth. Lemonade is okay. Food is okay, the tortilla was not fully cooked and didn’t have much food in it, pancake was also undercooked overall the atmosphere is not good. Needs to be exterminated asap!!

Great CUSTOMER SERVICE. I walked into this small cafe thinking they would serve sea food but all Mexican food. The Taco 🌮 plate with the frijoles and sopa were amazing . Very inexpensive. I was amazed at the $$$$. The service was great. They treated me like a local so pleasant and friendly. Small downfall is that it’s somewhat at a corner and it has limited parking. Amazing Mexican frijoles . ❤️🖤🤘🏼

It's closed on Thursdays. Parking is chaotic to be kind. The wait times can be insanely long! Nice pick if you wanna stay off the island. The staff are incredibly polite and professional. The inside maybe could use some maintenance (TLC). It's definitely showing it's 50yrs of business The breakfast, although plentiful, was a bit bland for a family owned Mexican restaurant here in the lower RGV. I've been passing this restaurant for years. First time actually stopping.. Not sure about coming back.

Very little food for what you are paying. Ordered the big tacos and got not fully cooked burrito sized tortillas with only a bit of potato and egg, wouldn’t even fill a regular sized taco. The service was alright, very nice but for the size of the restaurant they really don’t come by and check to see if you need anything or ask how the meal is. Very nice cute little place but won’t be returning on my next visit down here

Tried it for the first time and this place makes you feel at home with the friendly service and home cooked meals. Breakfast was delicious and service was fast. Staff is very attentive. Tacos are big and well served and prices are very reasonable.

We decided to come check this place out after reading all the great reviews. Food did not disappoint. It was very homemade and the flour tortillas were the on point. The portions are kind of small but I don't eat a lot so it wasn't a problem for me. My kids were still hungry though. It wait time was long and getting the food took a while also. The service was alright, could have been better. I think the restaurant needs more staff for its size.

We used to summer in SPI from the 80's and 90's. Been coming here since then. They have the BEST homemade flour tortillas I've ever had! The best salsa! (Might need a bit more hotness) Prices are spot on and almost always packed. I even order tortillas to go, to snack on later.

I have been a customer of this little shack of restaurant since they opened 10+ years ago. Never disappointed in their food despite its curb appeal. This shack stands out from the more appealing tourist attractions and shops as it is built in-between two obviously separate buildings. The welcoming atmosphere and hustle of the women behind the counter is very reminiscent of your grandmother's kitchen; complete with one of the best burgers in the area.

I never write reviews but this place just really upset me. Burger Shack is a shell of what it once was under this new management. This place used to be a jewel of port Isabel offering delicious burgers and good island vibes. And now? You’re walking into a filthy and soulless restaurant. You can tell the only thing the new owners saw when they opened this place was dollar bills because they have cheaped out on everything while hiking up the prices. You used to walk into this burger joint listening to island appropriate classic rock and now you hear cholo rap blasting from the kitchen. If that’s your vibe… go for it. There is flies everywhere and you can see the lack of proper hygiene in the kitchen. The food is really lackluster. The burger patties are dry. They’re lacking in seasoning. The fries taste of freezer burn. I once made the mistake of ordering nachos here and it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my life. They microwaved the nachos before handing them to me causing the cheese to harden and taste like plastic. I have never seen a restaurant fail at making a dish a child can make! This place is a stain on port Isabel and is only there so they can profit off of your hard earned money. Soulless and no passion. Just greed and filth. They completely ruined the legacy of the elderly couple who used to manage this place. Stay away. Give your business to the hard working people of Port Isabel and SPI not these mosquitos.

I have always wanted to come here and I'm so happy I got a chance to catch it when it was open! Ordered a gyro and was impressed! It was a good portion size & it tasted amazing! Service was friendly and attentive.

Burgers were juicy and seasoned to perfection. I’m not a burger person but the food was excellent and the service was great. Super friendly atmosphere. The front of the restaurant is tricky to the eye but just go in and let the ladies know your there and they will invite you into the open seating area located in the back and also a closed area for those who need a bit more chill while dining.

It's a shack with burgers. The 2 employees made the food to order. It's not all fancy, I mean the name tells you... It's a burger shack. The burgers are made fresh and had flavor. The fries are seasoned. The patio is just tables with chairs, but they do have a small room with A/C next to the bathroom if it's too hot for you. The food is good, but don't expect comfort in the patio if you're used to a fast food chain type of style. It's not 5 guys, it's not in and out, it's not checkers, etc...it's a burger made in a shack with a patio of random chairs, a sun shade, and some fans. Yes, it's outdoors, so you'll have flies. Again, it's a burger shack, just enjoy the burger.
