Beautiful and lovely hostess! Warm and personal greeting. Our waitress was so kind and had such an eye for detail and paid attention to everyone. Food was 10/10 and portioned so well! Thought if be going home hungry and ended up taking a doggy bag home!!!! Dessert was 1000/10! Yum yum yum! Loved everything about this place. Decor. Staff. Food.

Had an amazing evening at La Capannina! Wow! Such a wonderful place. We had some of the best food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Quality food, quality service! We also celebrated a birthday and they went out of their way to make it special. The check-ins and greetings from the staff and chef made us feel welcome and made the experience more personal. We were hosted very well and left feeling excited for our next visit!

It was amazing. There is nothing generic about the food here. Every item on each plate received time and attention and was well thought out. My son said it was the best pizza he has ever had(and kids eat a lot of pizza). Missed a pic of hubby's food but both his and my main were delicious. Melt in your mouth meat accompanied by well seasoned risotto and veg. Dessert was divine as well. We both have leftovers mains to enjoy. Portion sizes are well worth the price. There are things on the menu to suit all budgets which is a bonus. We were served by the amazing Steph, who shared the history of the place and gave us insight into the talented chef behind our meals and the dessert queen (her words exactly😁). We also have a very active 2 year old and he was welcomed and entertained which made us feel comfortable. We had a table away from other diners which is the kind of family friendly attentive staff which ensures the place definitely will get repeat customers. Highly suggest you visit if you are in the area. We will be back on our next trip to George.

Love this place we come to South Africa once a year and I’m always sorry if I miss a stop here. We started with the fyllodough bacon wrapped Brie. Delicious. Then had a pasta and a veal dish. Everything was so yummy and the service was quick. See you next year!!!

I was in George for a night heading off to Wilderness for a friend's wedding and we were recommended to come to La Capannina for dinner...And what an incredible experience it was. The food, the service, the atmosphere...Absolutely flawless, 11/10. Compliments to the Chef, compliments to MC, our waiter. If you're in George or passing through, I highly recommend you eat here, even just once. You will NOT regret it.

We've been to Hussar Grill twice and each time has just been incredible and faultless! The food is exceptional. Date night is incredible value for money. We've had a variety of dishes and every bite is amazing. We will definitely be coming back here regularly.

We were a table of 4 and had another great evening last night with very friendly staff. The restaurant was fully booked and we only got a table upstairs. I was not totally happy with a portion of my meal we had and Veronice the manageress tried her best to re-do the meal and when I declined, she insisted on other options to make up for a portion of my meal that was not totally satisfactory. Although I was fine and still happy with what we had and had no intention to receive anything else I must say that Veronice deserves accolades for her performance. It is persons like her that makes you want to come back as it is difficult to always get food 100%. Well done Hussar !!

Tried Kafe Serefe for the first time this weekend, and I'm sure it's going to be my fav restaurant in George for a long time to come. Unique dining experience, great value for money and good service. Kafe Serefe, you'll see me again... sooner rather than later!

Wonderfully surprised. We have been driving past Kefe Serefe for the past 2 years and never had the chance to try out their food as they are always full. After a few of our friends recommended their lamb burger we decided to try again 😁😁😁. The lamb burger was fantastic! A huge portion with chips and a salad. Really good value for money. We will definitely be back.

What a gem. The food was absolutely delicious. They serve traditional Turkish food and catering for the less traditional. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. Atmosphere was amazing and the decor is also amazing.

I thought there would not be much for me to eat as I don’t enjoy curry or seafood, but boy was I wrong! From spraying your hands with rose scented sanitizer and complimentary turkish delight, explaining what goes into various dishes and recommending excellent choices to a surprise happy birthday peppermint crisp, eating here is an experience not to be missed! A George jewel and after the make over we had to visit. We didn’t expect anything less. The attentive staff, warm generous food, coupled with taste makes this place one of the best restaurants in George. The prices are competitive and if you have been here before you know that it’s reputation compliments it’s popularity. Well done to the owners and staff. We appreciate it! Side note: took a takeaways for family at home too and the quality was consistent with dining in.

Pretty good food for both the dinner service and breakfast buffet for the days we were here. I absolutely adored the pasta options such as the carbonara and another that’s mushroom based. The breakfast also provided a wide variety of options including a chef’s special which is different each day

Nice atmosphere but poor control of entrance doors. 8 meals. 4 good ones. 1 average and 3 poor meals. Pastas are not traditional recipe. Carbanara and Gnocchi very disappointing.

Nazlynn was so friendly, warm and welcoming she made sure we had a bucket of ice and helped us to order quickly before the happy hour end, if you can ask for her to be your waiter and you will have a bliss Very lovely soul

Great atmosphere. Good food. The variety of cocktails are a bit limited. They do not serve mojitos and didn't have all the ingredients for a pina colada. But he made me something extra special at no extra cost that was very nice. Other than that, the service wasn't great, but I should mention that it was a busy night. Overall, great experience. Great vibe. I'll definitely be going there again sometime.

What a great experience all round. Super friendly and helpful staff, delicious food that is unbelievable value for money. The best part is the supervised play area. Your kids play with supervision while you relax and eat. The play area (complete with cinema) is in the middle of the venue with the tables for dining having a good view point into the play area. The staff were very attentive to the children and couldn’t do enough. Would 100% recommend it for families. Even the a owner came and gave our little girl some milkshake to try

The food was delicious. The Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and sitting outside on the Patio under huge sun umbrellas looking at the golf coarse while golfers are playing, is very interesting. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. It just feels special to go there.

What a place to sit and enjoy a 'golfers breakfast' overlooking the 1st tee of the Outeniqua course with the mountains as your backdrop !!

This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in George. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with the views I have of the Outiniqua mountains! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Fancourt

Monet’s has delicious food and a lovely patio to sit in the sun. The decor is a little bit sterile but I enjoyed being here a lot. The coffee is nice too!

We spent 4 wonderful days on the farm. The accommodation was excellent. Beautifully appointed cottage. Good quality linen and a very comfortable bed. The food we ate at the Red Shed Restaurant was excellent. There are so many activities to do on the farm. What a pleasure to visit such a well organized and pristine farm. We can't wait to return. An absolute gem!!

We had a lovely time with our two grandsons. Lots of fun things for them to do. The garden is beautiful and the service at the restaurant was very good. The food was good value for money. It is well worth visiting this gorgeous venue.

I attended the berry festival in October and had the best time! Irresistible craft market, the largest hedge maze in Southern hemisphere (was a dream come true) and of course, fresh strawberries and exceptionally yummy food all round. Lots of activities for kids, young and old, albeit the individual ticket prices can add up fast. Ample parking, but unfortunately someone in our party had their car hit-and-run and the parking attendants and organisers were dismissive.

If you ever visit George, you need to visit the Redberry farm. There's so much activities for the kids to do, such as a great Maze trail, train rides, picking strawberries and so much more as well as opportunities for adults to unwind and enjoy themselves too. There's a variety of Restaurant options with their own unique menu's and drinks to choose from

Awesome place to take the kids, pick some strawberries and ride on the mini train and bumper boats. Lots of awesome food options. An On the move office is also quite nice.

We never stayed there,but popped in for some strawberries and visited the shop which had so many nice goodies to purchase! Definitely a place to spend some time. Many things to do for the kids and adults.

Farm where you buy a plastic pot and head to pick strawberries, a kind lady will measure the amount of strawberries where you can wash and eat directly. Gift shop where you can buy clothes or cups. Small area for kids to feed rabbits and hamsters. A restaurant with strawberries dishes. A shop to buy farm products and food. A beautiful place to spend a lovely time.

What an absolutely beautiful restaurant! The weather was good so we opted for a table outside in the garden...and what a lush, beautiful garden it is, complete with fountain and the enchanting sound of frogs in the flower beds. The food was exquisite an the service impeccable. If you find yourself in George it is imperative that you visit The Bayleaf Café. It's an absolute treat for the senses.

I would rate this as the best cafe in George. This converted house makes for a beautiful cozy Cafe, with a homey interior and a spectacular garden, giving you plenty of seating choices. The food is just outstanding. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. The coffee is great. The service is just as good as the food. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back to explore more of the menu. I highly reccomend this place to anyone who enjoys good food and a warm family service experience.

Delicious, fresh food! Not only was the food great, but the staff and administrators were also very pleasant. This is definitely a gem in George and offers a peaceful English garden experience when sitting outside, and inside it’s warm and cozy! A must visit!

What a delightful place! We received a warm welcome on our arrival and shown the alternative seating localities. We chose the garden which proved to be extremely pleasant. The tables are nestled among the trees and shrubs in an extremely relaxing and peaceful environment with a dove cooing overhead. The waitrons were friendly and efficient, down to knowing the names of the trees in the garden! Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and served at just the right temperature. Definitely a place to visit again.

We ordered a variety of vegan and non vegan dishes to be shared and they didn't disappoint! Generous portions, GREAT flavour and friendly on top of that. Thoughtful for adding sauces separately. No spillage. Only one thing..the choc brownie was ultra sweet, so beware 😉 one bite was sufficient.

It was my birthday the 15 of October, our waiter was Moné, she was friendly talketive , very polite we hade the best serivice she was constant and perfect on time to take the empty boards away and bring our foods and drinks. Give her a raise she really deserves it to be acknowledged

I have to leave a revue here. I hav been in Melkbos looking after my ill daughter and was so very disappointed in the Mugg & Bean I Table Bay Mall. I wish I had taken a photograph of the toasted chicken Mayo I ordered. My whole experience there was terrible. WELL, I came to George to service my car and have come to The Mugg & Bean in Mall. It has really blown me away, from the front of house to the food. My chicken Mayo is really the best I have had in a very long time. Coffee is hot and just right. Good on you guys, you have restored my faith in my old Mugg & Bean days.

We always buy a chocolate chip muffin. But lately there are maybe 10 choc chips. The muffin was always covered in choc chips but not anymore. This should be sold as a vanilla muffin.

We sat outside on the terrace but have also previously sat inside - both good with views of the mountains. Food consistently good and very generous with lots of choice and lots of flavour. Of course Rainbow deserves a mention - very attentive and excellent front of house although all staff were very good and very polite.

Very disappointed. We got seated very quickly but waited more than 20 minutes to be served. We ordered take away toasties. Ordered ham & cheese and got barely cheese and tamato, no ham, and look like the sandwiches have been eated it’s ridiculously small. Do not recommend ordering a toastie for that price!!

Food was nice. I had the sea food pizza. It says it come with cubes of hake, it was crumbles of fish. Chicken livers starter.. not the best. Disappointed on the pizza bread starter... it's a focaccia with cheese on it. That's not a pizza bread in my eyes.. beers are not cold on tap.....

This is what they call a happy coincidence. Was looking for someplace to eat and this was the second place to come up on Google Maps. They have a steampunk vibe going. And the menu is like a little news paper. Food portions are decent and overall reasonably priced. Bonus, sat the whole afternoon chatting with a local. They also have a cocktail bar on top and and the smokers have the best beer garden at the back.

I must say, calling this place a hidden gem might sound cliche, but it's undeniably true! The open garden courtyard is simply beautiful for summertime, and the interior with its lovely decorations and fireplace makes it perfect for winter too. The atmosphere is delightful, and I love that they have entrances from both the front and back with ample parking. The food is delicious, and their cappuccinos are great, but the real standout is their filter coffee – it's the best I've ever had, always warm and fresh at the Mead Cafe. And let's not forget about their menu – it's so diverse and interesting! I highly recommend visiting and experiencing the Mead Cafe's unique offerings.

Lovely breakfast at Meade Café! Their menu is smallish (which I prefer), but contains very interesting offerings!! Our meal of The Texan and The Meade Full House breakfast was great! Tasty food, well prepared and well presented. I can definitely recommend. Service is quick and attentive and the setting/decor and atmosphere fresh and light. Well done Meade Café!!

Had cuppachino and scones on Saturday (22 June 2024 ) as a solo date after doing my lashes, and it was so calming to just sit, read a newspaper, and soak in my me-time. I'll definitely be going back for another solo date soon.

Wonderful waitress, lovely and peaceful setting and ambiance. We had the Trinchado and Kofta for lunch and it was truly delectable. Bery flavoursome and you can taste it was made by a chef and not a cook - super delish 5star. Highly recommend♡

I think Meade Cafe is my new favourite spot! The staff is super friendly and the brunch is absolutely amazing. The decaf coffee is also very nice.

The food was incredible. We had breakfast and it was worth writing a book and sending it home just to describe it. Very special place this! The decor is also interesting and the little shop upstairs was worth a visit too.

We had a great time, the location, service and the fact that is was pet friendly was a bonus. Unfortunately the food was a let down in the sense that the menu promises the Bunny Chow to be "the best south/this side of Durban". Unfortunately what came to our table was beef stew - not a hint of curry. The vegetarian pizza was good and the base is as good as the menu said. The atmosphere adds to great taste of the beer and these people love pets - so we will be back.

Favorite place to be whether it be for a quick cocktail with friends after work, Sunday afternoon chill with live music or their amazing quiz nights every Tuesday, Mujo's is the place to be! Amazing amazing amazing food - highly recommend any of their pizzas and the burgers are phenomenal too. Can take the whole family as it is child friendly with a lovely jungle gym and play area. 100% recommend 👌

Been there twice for an impromptu meal, the food has been outstanding priced perfectly prepared with love and a big touch of home style healthy hearty deliciousness. Service friendly and good decor perfectly suited for a bar style area. The BEST BURGER I have ever eaten 🤩🤩 "The Mofo Burger" definitely 1 to share homemade chips with the skins still on juiciest homemade patties all the right stuff!!!!Fresh grated garlic, home made chilli sauce, homemade mayo such great touches with the food. Would highly highly recommend Mujo's for so seriously delicious food and very chilled atmosphere during the day. Thank you for the yummiest food. Eisbein, spring rolls all just as crazy delicious.

We’re the first customers 30 minutes after they opened but the coffees took 20 minutes then the food order took over 1.5 hours for our table of 4. It was surprisingly slow for being the only customers in the restaurant. The breakfast spring rolls were very small and would not recommend if you’re hungry. The breakfast scramble was decent. Only thing worth it is the pet friendly garden area and kids play zone.

Tasty food, great menu variety, daily specials and events such as live music on weekends and quiz nights on Tuesdays. Our favorites based on our visits so far include the biltong springrolls, the Hawaiian burger and the Benz pizza. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. Mujo is one of our go to places in George!

Will definitely not be going here again. The food was average. The service was good. But when it was time to pay, the machines wouldnt work and we had to wait a while to pay.

Very disappointed. I went for a nice lunch to receive what I thought to be an eisbein: a dried, yellow, chicken drumstick-sized eisbein. With a bowl of oil/dip next to it that looked like it was scooped out of a fat trap. Peas that were cold. My wife had the chicken burger; very dry and bland amd the bun was stale and Crumbly, about 10 fries on the plate. You should be ashamed. Hire a new cook. And increase your staff; two waiters that have to run the whole restaurant is not fair to them.

Pretty good food but took some time for the dishes to arrive in between courses. We were greeted with a drink before our seating including a choice of a champagne or an alcoholic fruit punch. For the food, the springbok tartare was absolutely scrumptious and the pork belly also tasting small. One small thing is that the dishes were a bit small so make sure you order dessert in your set for a full belly.

This is the perfect spot to feel truly spoilt. This is fine dining at it's finest. If you love cuisine then you will absolutely appreciate the explosion of different flavours you will experience. Loved it. A perfect romantic dinner location.

Fancourt, What can I say!? Truly lives up to its expectation! From arrival to departure, Booking, Guest Relations, room service, porters, waitering staff and even reception at 01h00 am with Elizabeth easing me to sleep was absolutely phenomenal. It has been a while since I have encountered service like this! The amount of time that I had to raise my hand for staff and residents/guests, as they pass for greeting got to a point where I was exhausted. The security team and staff of Fancourt is super helpful for this substantial estate and will assist as much as they possibly can to ensure the best stay. Security management is friendly, yet firm in ensuring exclusivity and ease of running, ( I know, as I am a trouble maker. Well done to Mr Pote Van De Berg and his team, Security Estate Manager, for conflict management and damage control) and the safety and convenience of guest and visitors alike. This estate is a MUST for golfers who loves, service, ultimate bliss of luxury, and of course golfing. The greens are in excellent condition, and should you be fortunate enough to be invited for a round on the links, I would recommend to NEVER deny. Fancourt is a definite MUST, not just for the golfer, but also for the individual that deserves a break and just spoil them-self! Make sure to visit the Roman bath and the excellent spa facilities. A great and very popular Panarottis. Family friendly. They also offer vegan pizzas and gluten free pizza bases. Lots of space and has a childrens play area. Parking can be problem during weekdays, but is fine in the evenings and over weekends. They have tv's if you want to watch major sporting events.

Came from Cape Town and stayed a night in George and felt like sushi. Place itself looks nice and I liked the atmosphere. Service was friendly. Prices were higher than anticipated, but expected to pay for quality. Wait was 20 minutes, which isn't bad at all. Something that does put me off was the fact that the food was being made and packed on the same counter that orders are taken. And the same lady that took our order, worked with the money and without washing her hands touched the food.... should've seen that as a red flag. At first glance, it looked appetising and it smelt nice, but we were utterly disappointed. The portions are terrible and there's more rice than fish. Can actually see the rice through the salmon of the salmon roses. The taste was very bland - tasted like nothing but rice. Side note: Cucumber does not belong on sushi..

I went in with a very specific request, no seaweed. The cashier immediately called the owner/sushi chef and relayed my request. He gave a very snarky response, that it was not allowed. I explained that I didn't mind if it looked a bit different and not as aesthetic. He mumbled and again said it wasn't able to be done, he said maybe only one item. Very unfriendly and dismissive. In the future, I would rather drive a little further and go to places that have accommodated my request in the past!

I travel from Mossel Bay to get sushi here because they make the absolute best food. Great value for money too!

Great and attentive service, unfortunately for the waiting staff, the kitchen staff didn't bring their side - ate here for dinner and then again for lunch. The promised "wagyu" burgers were far from wagyu and just tasted like a dry beef patty. Came again for lunch and had the nachos - they used a cheese sauce (gross consistency and processed taste), chicken wings - the batter was pasty and dry, the pork belly bites were dry and chewy. Not one of the four dishes I've had at this restaurant has been good. For such a prestigious establishment there is MUCH room for improvement for the chefs, felt very amateurish. Service and bar is great.

While the picturesque surroundings and challenging course were impressive, I can't ignore the disappointments I encountered during my visit. Firstly, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed overwhelmed and were slow to attend to guests, which created an unfortunate first impression. The wait times were noticeable, especially when it came to the food. Speaking of which, the dining experience was far from satisfactory. The food service was remarkably sluggish, detracting from the overall experience. It's disheartening when a visit to a prestigious establishment is marred by delays in something as basic as food service. The most concerning issue was the quality of the fish platter. Regrettably, it arrived far from fresh and emitted an unpleasant odor. This lack of freshness was not only disappointing but also a serious concern for the culinary standards of an establishment of this caliber. While the golf course itself offered a challenging and enjoyable experience, the shortcomings in service and dining detracted significantly from what could have been a stellar visit. I sincerely hope Fancourt takes steps to address these issues, as there is great potential for it to live up to its reputation as the best golf course in South Africa.

As a non-hotel guest make sure you reserve a table at The Club Lounge, should you wish to dine there. From arriving at the gate each and staff member was very friendly and the security kindly arranged that a gold cart collect us at the parking area, which is quite a walk to the main building. The building and grounds are in pristine condition, which adds to the experience at The Club Lounge. I ordered a Chicken Mayo on homemade bread with chips and my fiance the Chicken Schnitzel with chips and a side of mixed vegetables. Everything was delicious.

First ... apparently guests are no longer allowed access unless a booking was made days in advance... Two ... only two choices of cake on the menu, of which one is not available... Three ... you order Rooibos tea, and get black tea... Four ... no napkins provided. Must be a shortage... With many options now available in George, rather go somewhere else!

Although the menu is better suited for a lunch, we had a brunch and throughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and view over the golf course and surrounding gardens.

With the 18th fairway and green of the Montagu course at Fancourt as it's background, the Club Lounge is an ideal place to relax after a round of golf or to while away an hour or two in the in the late afternoon sun. Enjoy a cold beer, glass of wine, a variety of snacks or even a meal. The staff are exceptionally attentive and the food is delicious !!

To experience the Spur they have a high standard so you know when going there you will always have a good meal. My service this time was lacking as I had ribs and got no finger bowl but another table got. Also the waitress could not understand me and I had to speak to her more than once. Learning to communicate is the first step into life of working and getting your career on the go. Spur food has once again been good and end of day my stomach was happy. I will definitely visit again

Had a lovely lunch with my family. Food was great, staff are well trained and friendly. The spur was full, so we had to wait, but the wait was worth it. As the kids had funn, and hubby coud sit and chat and relax.

Had the best vegetarian burger. The roll, French fries and patty was hot and fresh. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meat burger too. Lovely waitress and staff members adds a pleasant atmosphere as well.

Absolutely horrible, waited 20 minutes after our order, only for the waiter to tell us that the printer in the kitchen wasn’t working and the order will be here soon. Our order comes, and we get this?!!!! HORRIBLE

Just went for a drink before our movie , and Markus the waiter was so accommodating and friendly. Definately an asset to Spur .normally if we just go for a drink we get terrible service because we are not eating but Markus treated us like regular patrons . I hope he gets recognised for his service and an incentive .

Took my son to Nandos for the first time. He ordered medium and it didn't go down well. He won't be doing that again. Had to share my lemon and herb meal with him. As always Nandos has nice chicken, order the chicken.

Very good panarottis. The staff are very friendly and professional. The food was decent and so was the coffee ☕ Pizzas 🍕 and pasta🍝are the main attraction. The only thing I say is some 🍕 are a bit too sauces and need less sauce but apart from that very decent . The prices are a bit extreme when you compare to actually Italian restaurants that we been to when on average the price for a large pizza 🍕 is 130 while here it was averaging around the 170 Mark. Apart from the 2 mentioned things it's definitely worth to bring the little ones as they have a play area upstairs.

Had their Pecan Nut Choc Fudge Pizookie.... Was sorely disappointed. After having had them in America, my fiancée was expecting a thick and warm cookie like dessert with a contrast of cold ice cream. When it arrived it was room temperature and as thin as paint. Honestly felt like we were scraping the bottom of a pot to just get at some of the cookie. Was by far not worth the price. Would recommend that you avoid it as a dessert option. At least the flavour (so far as we could taste the 3mm deep dessert) was fine. At least the service was pretty good for a busy holiday season day and the Salami, Caramelized Onions and Feta Bianco pizza was good. Which is sad that the dessert left a metaphorically bitter taste in our mouths. See photo attached with spoon for reference on the thickness of the dessert.

Deep cleaning after 15:00 while serving our food. No one to give us service when arrived. One table left and we were two tables only. Food was good. Manger sitting and saw us but left us out to dry. This is not expected from a Wimpy. Will not come here a gain. Sorry for the lady that did help us, she said sorry like 30 times. Bad managing !! Very poor, sit and eat and drink, and on phone still ...we have been here an hour. Thank you kitchen for good food. Much appreciated!

Great and fast service. Outdoor play park for the kids to enjoy if there is no rain but beware it's very slippery when wet. Small mall with checkers and some other stores to do some shopping.

Worst service ever received 2 October 2025. On Arrival 4 tables not cleaned after the previous clients left. Needed to ask to clean the table. Only ordered drinks wanted to eat but the waiter never returned. Not our first bad experience at this establishment.

It is a very beautiful, quiet location. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Very good food. Service is great. The only downfall is the house patios/balconies, it is very dangerous for small children( bars are very wide), small children can fall very easily through the bars.The sign on the balcony (prohibited to feed animals)is placed very low and very pointy).

Being an ex owner of a guest house at Centurion we cab truely say it was simply amazing! The ambiance nature views the excellent service we received from the staff and the dinner and breakfast were outstanding. The wooden cottages are beautiful warm and attention to detail tops. Rudest Manager, terrible customer service and misleading information. Googled closing times. Rushed 10km across town to make it before closing at 22h00. Arrive at 21h50, doors still open and also state 22h00 close. Walk up to cashier and ignores me, counting money. Eventually ask to be helped and she doesn't look up but tells me "kitchen closes at 21h45 and is closed". Ask to speak to the Manager only to be pointed to the lady with a couldn't care attitude wearing a Fishaways shirt at the counter next door (who must have heard the altercation but didn't bother to try and solve the problem). She rudely proceeds to give me a pathetic excuse about how they need to clean the place before it closes. I ask her if she understands customer service and how you cannot tell your customer one thing and then close at a different time. She just shrugs her shoulders in response. Maybe the closing time should be 21h45 if the staff want to LEAVE the shop at 22h00 - laughable! Well done KFC for serving us FIVE MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING after this wasted attempt!

It's a wonderful place. Welcoming and friendly staff. I'd recommend better TV quality and options as well as faster wi-fi ;) Rooms are tidy and clean. It would be nice of there was a heated blanket for those icy winter days.

My experience at Loerie Guest Lodge is mixed. I am not fussy at all and rarely worry about odd out-of-place things at such establishments. I have stayed at Loerie before, but this time round it was a different "experience". My bed/mattress/pillows had fleas! Just know that if it was really good weather to visit the beach, then I would not have been able to go topless...with pink marks all over my back and stomach. I did report it though. I just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else...that would probably have dealt with the issue much worse. ...still itchy.

Clean and spacious room however freezing in winter. No air con or wall heater so go prepared. Breakfasts are great, free wifi and kitchen available to warm food on the go. Great location for running and work. Desk managers not always happy with many requests 😁

The food was good but the portions were uneven and when I received the smallest portion I really felt that the price was not worth it. My starter of the fig, prosciutto and camembert was delicious, but small and pricey. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice even during load shedding. The service was good and attentive.

Beautiful setting. Excellent rooms. Manageress is a real gem! Clean, comfy and peaceful. Within walking distance to various shops and restaurants!

1. The room was clean. 2. The receptionist is very frienldy and welcoming. 3. The bedding and towels are very white and clean. i was really impressed by this. 4. They have electric blankets on their beds which makes it so comfortable when it is cold. 5. The dustbin in my room does not have a foot pedal, you have to touch it with hands to open it. 6. There is a fireplace that is longer in use in the room that was offered to me. The fireplace has been filled with lots of old books. I was worried throughout the night of what might come out underneath those books. I strongly recommend the fireplace be removed completely. 7. There was a soap bottle in the shower and another one on the basin. Both of them do not dispense soap when you press them. I recommend they be replaced. 8. There is a floor carpet that has been used as a headboard. It is the first time I see something like this. I was worried about the frequency of washing that capert. 9. The room is over-decorated, there are too many vases, fans, cups & saucers for decorations, too many carperts, too many pillows, too much furniture. It is not easy to clean a room that has too many items & I suggest reducing items in the room to give some breathing space. 10. There are frogs in the garden that make "clicking" sounds 24 hours a day. I enquired about this noise during the day & I was told it is frogs. I took sleeping tablet to sleep but it did not work. I woke up about every hour due to the sounds from the frogs.

Visited George For the Week on Work Room was very cozy and Warm Loved the Electric Blanket. Stayed at Onyx RM4 Perfect Location 5 Minute walk to Main Road. Definitely Recommended for a Short Stay. Book in Lady was Very Polite and Kind.

Such a beautiful place. We loved it here. Great location. Stayed in rooms # 1 (oolala), #5, #3. We stayed off and on over a 2 week period, when our schedule permitted. The staff are accommodating, the house cleaner was so helpful, and it is a wonderful location. King, beds that are firm, in all the rooms we stayed in. Netflix. WiFi. The decor is heavy renaissance. Beautiful wood.

Our second stay at this superb establishment. The room was again spacious, beautifully decorated, and well appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and generous, prepared, and served by friendly and efficient staff. On both occasions, the online booking was effortless, and we were contacted via WhatsApp within an hour to thank us for our booking and confirming the same. We were warmly welcomed back, and made to feel like we were visiting family. We highly recommend this lovely B&B.

This beautifully decorated guest lodge is walking distance from the city centre. My very comfortable room had all necessary amenities (and more). Checking in, I was warmly greeted by Bernard, who courteously helped with my heavy luggage and showed me to my room. An excellent buffet breakfast is served from 7am to 9.30am. Checking out was a breeze with Amanda, who also helped serve breakfast and ensured everything was in order. All in all Acorn Guest House is a welcoming and comfortable home away from home 🏡😍

I had the best experience with Acorn Guest House! I stayed there for work and it was absolutely perfect. The personnel was extremely kind and helpful and the breakfast was a true highlight. The location is central and excellent. You can walk to close by restaurants and enjoy a jog in the early morning or int he evening. Finally, the room and common areas were very well maintained and tastefully decorated. I will definetly come back!

Amanda and the team at Acorn Guest House were amazing during my stay. Their breakfast specials of the day were delicious and they make a lovely cup of coffee. Rooms are well appointed, clean and very comfortable.

Rooms are very spacious and clean. I stayed in Room 6 where the safe was not working and the en-suite shower is very small. There were coffee and tea facilities in the room, but I had to ask for milk. Service was a bit worrying from the manager's side who booked two rooms for me while I requested only one room for two guests. The receptionist on duty tried his best to let me feel at home and deserves a raise. The location could be in a more quieter street though. As my room was facing the Main Road I had to accept a lot of traffic noise. Overall the stay was not that bad and I will give it an average three. Rectify the small things and I might consider a five.

Wonderful stay : exceeded expectations! We stayed at Outeniqua Inn for one night while driving back from a funeral, and it was just what we needed. The place is beautiful, welcoming, and very comfortable. The owner is incredibly friendly and hands-on, which made us feel right at home. Breakfast was absolutely amazing; such great quality and variety! We're definitely coming back for a longer stay. Thank you so much for giving us real value for our money!

Perfect stay if you are in George for business. Very close to George center. Rooms are exactly what you need. Parking is safe. Our room were on the main road but we did not hear traffic noise. The breakfast was amazing. We'll be back!

This place is a definate come-back, need last minitue accomodation when we decided to accompany our son on his rugby tour, stayed 2 nights and everything was so convenient and functional. We had the family room that sleeps 6. It is a lovely place and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The experience was great from booking to check-in every breakfeast and easy check-out. I forgot my charger and must say even the after service was on point to assist me to courier my charger. Every star is well deserved :-)

Accommodation kept nice and clean. Room spacious and serviced well daily. Secure parking. However dead atmosphere. Breakfast was late but good however after seeing the chef wipe his nose with his fingers I stopped having breakfast. The company I worked for pay for the breakfast but I'd rather go hungry. Until they change the chef don't eat the food.

Tranquil Garden Setting Desi, our host was super attentive and couldn’t have done more to make our stay any better. The room was very well furnished and looked out onto the most beautiful garden area which was frequented by a local monkey troop. Desi helped me with a hose pipe to wash down my car (we were displaying a car at the George Old Car Show next day) and that saved us having to drive around looking for car washes. Burrough Place is very close to golf courses and we even walked to a local shopping centre which has everything you might need. It was well suited for our show visit but could easily fulfil business travellers and as a base to explore further afield.

My stay at the Burrough Place was short but VERY pleasant. Sindy was professional and helpful, communicated clearly and regularly. I had the best omelet in years. The rooms deserve a 5 Star rating, it was clean, spacious and well equipped.

Stayed over for one night. Room was a real treat. Wonderfully crisp duveted bed, coffee and tea available in room, on-suite bathroom with soap and clean towels. The host Tamryn was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and I am pretty sure that was the best flapjack I've had in a long time. We walked into the garden and in a lucky sighting saw four chameleons.

Where to begin? This stay was perfect from start to finish! Liliya and the Amour guesthouse team made us truly feel cared for and feel like family! The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful, the breakfast was tasty with made to order components , local recommendations and advice about safety was provided, and any opportunity to engage with us was handled with the most kindness and care. Had a wonderful 2 night stay for a work trip with Liliya at Amour guesthouse. We arrived later than the allowed check in time but was met with awesome hospitality. We usually stay at hotels when travelling for work but the guesthouse hospitality definitely will see me back again in future. The rooms were comfortable and spacious the surroundings peaceful and the breakfast wonderful! Thank you Liliya for a great stay!

The rooms were very nice and comfy.... I loved the fact that each room had its own theme. Breakfast was amazing.....and the owners were very friendly and accommodating.

The lady working there was very friendly. But I was so disappointed with the room they gave us, it had spider webs. It was not clean at all. I came back home with a swollen cheek. You must have your own soap, shampoo, and coffee or tea. We struggled to connect to the WiFi. TV had few channels. I would NOT recommend the place to anyone.

It's a good place when you want to getaway from the busy CBD busy life. There is peace of mind. HOWEVER, it is not clean, the front door is full of spider webs, you get inside and you just breathe dust 😒 my sinuses were up the whole night, I couldn't sleep because of the dust. Oooh, the sheets were not fresh at all🤥🫥If only they could prioritize cleaning the place because it's beautiful and great for family outings.

My family had been invited by friends who where booked in for a wekend. Nice place. Bad service and behavior from owner. Thy treat us grownups like kids. Moaning over nothing. The place with swiming pool it self is very nice...to bad the owners don't clean it everyday. Place and furniture where full of dust. The yard has not been sweep. Most of stuff accessories around pool and on yard are broken and not beaing maintain, but still in use.

Not impressed at all. Being yelled at in Dutch is a bit much. I suspect a double booking or suchlike.... suddenly had a problem with our 2 tiny dogs staying with us despite the fact that we saw another guest had their dog. Suggesting our dogs sleep in our car overnight... really!? Why would we have indicated pets accompanying us on the LekkeSlaap website if we were okay with them sleeping in the car. Had our refund super ready in R100 notes. Very suspicious!

Ibis Place was not quite what we expected for R1000 per night for 2 people with 2 dogs. Though the room was clean, it was old and in dire need for an upgrade. Proper shower doors will work better and the kitchenette is really tiny with very little work space. There was an enclosed little garden for our dogs which was great and the dogs enjoyed the freedom after a long travel.

On new year's eve, our experience was marred by an incident with the owner. We were playing music with a Bluetooth speaker outside while braaing when the owner approached us, shouting and insisting that we turn off our music at 8 pm. Surprisingly, he cited disturbing his guests as the reason, even though other guests, who happened to be white, were freely enjoying music and drinks in the kitchen. We understand that there are house rules in place, such as no noise after 10 pm. However, it was disheartening to be singled out and forced to switch off our music two hours earlier than the stipulated time, especially when other guests were not held to the same standard. Additionally, we were surprised to find out that guests were expected to wash their own dishes. IF YOU ARE BLACK, PLEASE DONT MAKE A MISTAKE AND BOOK WITH THIS HORRIBLE RACIST PLACE. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THEY DID NOT EVEN GREET US.

The facilities were quite pleasant. But the experience was terrible. The hosts were overbearing and invasive. Definitely not a friendly space to people of colour. Hosts were openly racist and frequently intruded on privacy frequently, even entering the premises at night, compromising on safety. Definitely worth rethinking your stay here, especially if you are a non-white person.

The rooms were average. Not huge but a nice size for the price. One thing to note is they do not have a generator or any sort of back up power. The food for breakfast was really nice. The best place we stayed in on our garden route holiday. Rooms are clean, tidy and well furnished. Bottled water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate in every room. Rooms also have a safe for storing your valuables. The owner takes great pride in the place. The breakfast was also divine with fresh fruit and fresh juice as well as your choice of tea and coffee. The omelette and the spinach and gets crepe were really awesome prepared by the owner herself. Any visitor to this place has to try it out. I had requested a 3 hr early check in and was granted without hassle. The views from the mountain view was breathtaking. Great added value is the place is halaal

Highly recommended! Room had the amenities you would expect from an actual hotel room, eg. Aircon, little fridge, tea&coffee station and even a hair dryer in the draw. Lots of chill spots all over this spacious venue, nice large pool. Spacious yard with lots of trees and mountain views. The breakfast was halaal and that normally means lovely tasty meals and Waheeda cooks really well. She is very friendly accommodating and open to arranging lunch and supper as an optional extra aswell.

Beautiful place, very clean and the host Waheeda is amazing. Love the breakfast and the fact that it's one of few accommodations in George that is fully Halaal. Definitely intend on staying there again.

Absolutely loved our stay at this guest house! The location was fantastic, and the guest house itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The spacious balcony with its lovely views was a real highlight. Highly recommend!

This owner accused my friend and I, a day after departure, telephonically, that we stole a decorative cushion off one of the beds in the room. This was before they checked and cleaned properly. It probably fell off on wall side of bed. she threatened that she will bill us for the item. Now another day later, she never called back to indicate she found it, and does not take our calls. We take great offence to such an accusation and do not recommend her establishment and will communicate in our large network in industry not to support her.

My scheduled stay was supposed to be for 1 night but myself and my family with the help of Cherry the host decided we must extend and that was the best decision. The establishment is soo homely, soo welcoming, nothing short of amazing. Few minutes away from the main road so it was really such a perfect place for us. There’s beautiful gardens that you can wake up and have coffee in, there’s literally everything and anything you need in the establishment. I’m planning my next visit to George soon and this establishment will definitely be my go to place. Cherry YOU ARE AN AMAZING HOST!!

The best experience ever. This is where luxury and comfort meet. When you enter the gate, you will feel at home immediately. Lots of save parking and access to the accommodation units are without any hassle. You will be heartily welcomed by the friendliest hosts and professional staff. When entering your accommodation unit you will be surprised by the spacious and comfortable layout, designed for your pleasure only. In winter the rooms will be conditioned to about 26° and the electric blankets will also be turned on in the "Low" position. Ready for your comfortable nights rest. The dinning area is the heart of this facility and the food is just outstanding. There is also an indoor braai area available that is equipped and ready for any small function, keep in mind that comfort is the keyword! Me and my wife want to thank Louw and Rita for an unforgettable weekend and the friendship offered without any expectations. God will bless you for loving thou neighbor's.

Friendly efficient and thorough check in. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast is good, especially the coffee. They also bottle a unique dry spice called Woeste Spice, very nice if you like that sort of thing. The thermal coffee cups are great if one does not stir as vigorously as I do, see picture for result.

Great place , great people , great service The experience is in the name , this is truly a Cosy corner, a home away from home. You have a gated parking space with access by remote , if you opt for food from the guest house you won't be disappointed , the food is great and big portions. Juandre is fantastic and will look after you if you need anything or want any advice on where to go in the area. I've stayed here multiple times now for more than one night at a time and has become my go to guest house in George for work trips.

A family owned and run guest house, although situated in a really quiet part of George, you are still close to shops and malls. The owners made us feel like friends. This guest house is absolutely stunning but what really makes it a hidden gem is Lezette, she went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable and enjoyable. We are thoroughly relaxed after our short stay at Arbour1. Beautiful room and gardens make this an escape from the hustle and bustle but with the added benefit of being close to the everything in town you might possibly need. Our room was well equipped with a kitchenette, big shower and HEAVENLY bed!! Best sleep we've had in months!! We were only able to stay for one night but wish we could've stayed longer.

Nice Getaway! My spouse and I had the pleasure of staying in the Roman room for 4 blissful nights, and it exceeded all expectations. The room was a dream come true, with fresh flowers adding to the inviting atmosphere and a cozy, comfortable bed that ensured a good night's sleep. Despite load shedding, we had light and a warm shower, and the room remained cool even when the temperatures outside were soaring. We relished the opportunity to watch the breathtaking sunset with a glass of wine while sitting outside. Parking was a breeze, as we could park right outside our room. The pool was an oasis of calm, and its warm waters invited us to take a refreshing dip. A mere two-minute walk away was Cornerstone, a hub of excitement with a fantastic cocktail bar, scrumptious food options, charming coffee shops, and unique gift shops. The Redberry strawberry farm was a stone's throw away and offered plenty of attractions, and the beach was just a 10-minute drive away. Our stay was made even more enjoyable with a healthy and delicious breakfast included. The Wi-Fi was fast and unlimited, perfect for staying connected. While there was a rough road about half a kilometer long, it was a minor inconvenience that we didn't mind. The hosts, Michael and Sandra, were incredibly hospitable, and they went above and beyond to help us with suggestions and recommendations. They made our stay truly unforgettable. In response to your reply. You did not do us any special favours. We paid for our stay and perhaps the communication of what we could and could not do was not communicated clearly. Telling guests when to go to bed is absurd, we are not your children. Don't host people if you are going to dictate to them how to spend their time. I also don't know about sleeping all day as I have a baby that is up by 6:30 every morning and we left in the mornings to go out and get breakfast. Even if we chose to sleep all day that is not your business. You are also referring to outside guests who were there to say hello to their son who was in the area, they are the same people YOU came to greet. You could have told us at that moment that they were not welcome but you did not so that is strange. Nobody is blaming you for the change of weather but any hospitable person would give their guests the patio or covered area to sit at to eat and be protected from the elements. You want to run a guesthouse but then also control how people experience the space? In closing, the property is yours, you have a right to run it the way you see fit but please do not treat guests as though you are doing them a favour when they have spent R15 000 and booked out all your rooms. R15 000 is not exactly "cheap" its a lot of money for "rooms only". In addition I would recommend you look at reinvesting in your rooms. They look dated.

We (family of four) really enjoyed our stay at Malvern Manor Country Guest House. We were made very welcome by the hosts who were most pleasant and very helpful regarding a few questions we asked about the area, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and very well presented and the views were absolutely stunning! I would highly recommend this lovely guest house.

The room is competent, and served our needs. Not on par with other places we have stayed in South Africa. In addition to the room, there is a very comfortable and spacious living room. I like to read a lot, and need a bright light directly focused on my reading material in order to read without strain. I would have liked to have accessed a reading lamp. Sandra and Michael are extremely competent hosts. Both were kind, and offered informed opinions that made our stay more successful. Michael talked at length with us about South Africa in general, the area in specific, and touring options. They are top rate hosts. Breakfast is made to order, and was excellent. The locale for this place to stay is rural, pastoral, and quiet. Interrupting the silence of the place is the distantsound of chickens, and the occasional lowing of cows on a nearby farm, sounds that I am accustomed to and found charming. The gardens are spectacular! What a lot of work goes into maintaining these ample and gorgeous gardens. We fell in love with their two collies, both of whom played fetch the ball with great vigor for as long as I cared to throw it. This is a lovely place of respite with two kind and attentive hosts.

Quiet rural setting. Perfect to relax and recharge, with a king size bed that provided the best sleep. Michael and Sandra are caring hosts who shows an interest in their guests.

Although Michael was welcoming, the room (Worcester) was cold, damp and musty, the bed linen did not dry out at all. it overlooked the carpark and owners garage. There was no offer of spending time in any other part of the house, which may have helped. Breakfast if one had it would have been served in our dated and damp bedroom! I do understand about power cuts and covid , BUT there is no reason why the bedroom was the only place available to us. we were booked for 5 nights and left after one with relief. interestingly most of the reviews are old and the best review is written by the owner herself. a very poor experience. we never found the cafe/ shops which were near. it is over a mile along a dirt track to the nearest road!!

Beautiful farming meadows all around and lovely view of mountain. Room was comfortable, immaculate and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Our hosts were great. Every request was accommodated with warmth and generosity. We had a great time!

We had the ultimate weekend getaway at Lorelei Guest House in George! The location? Perfect. The vibe? Immaculate. The place was spotless (like, you-could-eat-off-the-counter clean) and had absolutely everything you’d need for a proper home away from home. Our hosts (Clayton and Mia) were simply iconic. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely fabulous, they made our stay feel extra special. Honestly, they’re the kind of hosts that make you wonder why all accommodation isn’t like this. Already planning my next stay and can’t wait to return✨

What a fantastic stay! Accommodation was superb and very enjoyable. Lovely quiet part of George with beautiful surroundings and very accessible to everywhere. House was fully equipped with everything you need, lovely garden, braai and sitting area. Perfect for a family. Stunning modern finishes and super neat, great value for money. Pictures very misleading. Very modern, but very cold. We were greated with a list of rules. No kids under 12, no moving any furniture, pls wash dishes (but not enough dishwasher cubes) The main shower has an entrance of 25cm( if that much) We are not big people, but felt horrible to go shower next door. I was looking forward to be able to wash my clothes for we are staying for quite a few days, but huge sign. Do not use these apliances. Really?

What a wonderful experience! The guest house is extremely modern with every necessity one could ask for. Not to mention there is full DSTV and an extremely fast WiFi for streaming purposes. The braai area is fantastic and the hosts are very friendly and responsive. The guest house is situated in a convenient location within walking distance to a shop and very central in George. I would definitely recommend.

Awesome place to stay. Clean, modern, friendly host, value for money and a spacial experience to be able to walk in the vegetable garden and pick veges. The best!
