The 11 best breakfast and brunch in Beziers

We visited this restaurant/bar four times during our stay in Béziers. There is a very reasonably priced 3 course lunchtime set menu for just under 20 Euros. We had an interesting starter of poached eggs in a red wine sauce with lardons, a delicious squid stew with potatoes and a chocolate and praline mousse. We also went à la carte on a Sunday and chose from the suggestions of the day - really lovely melon and Serrano ham, cod on a bed of risotto with a chorizo cream and a delicious crème brûlée. This was far more expensive, but justified, given the higfh quality of the food. We also went for a drink on Friday evening, when there was very pleasant live music, and had a wonderful ice cream sundae another day. Service could be a little slow but staff very friendly. Vey pleasant location under the plane trees of the beautiful Allées Paul Riquet. Highly recommended.

We ordered a Salad Cesar and Salmon a la Plancha. The salad was sooo good and refreshing. The salmon was also delicious and felt like eating a healthy home made dish. I love a nice hotel and Maison Jullian is a very, very nice hotel. Our family stayed in 2 of the hotel's 3 rooms and the hotel & gardens felt like our own private space. The house itself is a beautifully restored colourful treat and Candy & Charles are very lovely welcoming hosts. Charles fed us well, and breakfast was one of the nicest breakfasts I've had in a long while. Everything about our stay was done with care & we appreciated it. :)

This was a gem of a place. Ideally situated on the edge of town but near enough to walk along the canal and into the centre. The food was really beautifully presented and delicious. We sat outside in the garden to eat which couldn’t have been more idyllic. Perfect end to our trip to the Languedoc.

I have stayed in many luxury hotels and Airbnbs. Maison Julian is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Candy and Charlie, the owners, have a great flair for design. Also, they are amazing hosts - attentive, friendly and very professional. Breakfast is served in the most stunning room in the chateau with stained glass windows overlooking their beautiful garden, a dome with hand-painted wallpaper and an enormous glass chandelier. We also had dinner at Maison Julian, which was delicious too. I struggle in France as a vegetarian, but Maison Julian caters for veggies! We will return! This hidden gem right next to the port is an absolute delight and one of the best meals we’ve eaten in over a year or more. Service is as delightful as the setting with cuisine to please the most discerning of palettes. The garden setting and ambience on a sunny spring afternoon are hard to beat, with the only sound that of the birds. This is a tranquil oasis away from the noise and bustle of the city centre. The welcome warm and generous, with time spent to explain the menu, answer questions and share local knowledge - Charles is a master of charm as well as the kitchen! The quality, innovation and presentation of the dishes were delightful with each course. We trusted Charles's wine selections none of which disappointed. All in all great value considering the standard, service and setting.So glad we finally made it and a real treat not to be missed. This establishment richly deserves a Michelin listing. The location was completely suited to our needs and enhanced our relaxation, only a twenty-minute drive from the airport, it was so convenient and walkable to the lovely bars and restaurants of Béziers. The breakfast is the best I have ever experienced – beautifully presented, Charles only uses the finest ingredients which all sing on every plate. I cannot stop talking about the breakfast to anyone who will listen. We also opted for the table d'hôtes which was exquisite, Charles’s famous chocolate mousse is not to be missed. Again, beautifully presented and prepared. The drinks selection and wine list are of top quality, and Charles’s knowledge of wines, their makers and sourcing local wines was much appreciated. Candy made us feel so welcome and her recommendations were brilliant, we followed her advice consistently and as a result had the best time! The combination of luxury, peace and down-to-earth hosts ticked all of our boxes. I cannot speak more highly of our experience and we will come back soon. We already miss the sweet cat Chat chou.
