Bar Beach Kiosk is a funky beach cafe located right on the edge of Bar Beach in Merimbula, Australia. It's the perfect spot to grab a meal after a swim or hike. The kiosk serves up delicious breakfast and lunch made from local produce, along with great coffee. Visitors can enjoy their meals with their toes in the sand while taking in stunning views. The menu includes fresh wraps and perfectly cooked egg and bacon rolls.
What a fantastic little find! Great coffee, friendly staff, and a view that’ll take your breath away. Spend a few minutes here, or hours having a swim, relaxing and just enjoying this spectacular place. The kiosk even had some much welcomed sunscreen!

Nice coffee. We tried pistachio crepe. Not too bad, quite nice. Just didn't expect the serving is a bit small. Have a fantastic view facing the sea /beach.
Aud J — Google review
Delicious halloumi burgers and coffee. A few orders in front of us but not a long to wait. Who cares really. The view is spectacular. Friendly young guys serving. I’m hoping they’ll put a new (another) vegetarian option called The Uncle Leo. 😉

Fantastic food! I had the Crepes & it was absolutely mouth-watering! The view was amazing, too!

What a great little set up these guys have got here. Great coffee. Friendly staff and good service. We didn’t have any but the food looks great.
Dave W — Google review
Chillin' by the beach, this cafe is the real deal for good vibes and great eats. You definitely can't beat the view here. Picture this: waves crashing, sun shining, paddle boarders around and you're sippin' on some fantastic coffee. Now, let's talk breakfast. They've got everything from yummy bacon and egg rolls to local made artesian sourdough that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. It's all about fresh, local goodness that hits the spot. The place itself? Super chill. Can seat in front of the counter or on the benches available. The staff is friendly, and the vibe is like a laid-back beach hangout. You'll forget about time as you soak in the sun on the terrace.
Derrick Y — Google review
Coffee was good, the view and the atmosphere was stunning! Just be prepared for a wait for your coffee. Picked this place on Google recommendations and we were not disappointed. The view back over Bar Beach was fabulous! Staff were very friendly having a ball dancing along to the music whilst churning out coffee. This place does get busy. We waited around 25 minutes for our coffee. There are some tables located at the front of the shop but you would have to be lucky to get one. Car parks likewise. That said, definitely worth checking out. Perhaps just follow my lead and double park in the coffee to avoid the wait for a second one!
Michael M — Google review
Awesome spot right next to the amazing Bar Beach. I had the egg and bacon roll, and it was delicious. Their coffee is no joke, too. Great place to sit back and relax and admire the view.

Popular little place. Range of foods on offer as well as drinks. The coffee was good in which I ordered the day I went. Reasonably good and friendly service. Good location, across the road from the beach.

This was another great place. Merimbula in general has been an amazing place for food. We just got some different pancakes dishes, the cranky pancakes with granola and fruit was surprisingly delicious.
Josh D — Google review
Food was quick, delicious, and tasted fresh. I had the special mortadella focaccia sandwich and I don’t think I breathed while I ate it 😂 also had the açaí smoothie which was refreshing. The only thing is that they automatically put it in a takeaway container. I was going to stay and eat but decided to just take it to go when it showed up in a box.
Erika R — Google review
It's popular for a reason and well earned. The staff are lovely, we were seen to by Ruby and Cricket. The food and coffee are delicious. The portions are really generous and the gluten free buns baked on-site are outstanding! Definitely give this place a visit (or more). 👌

The café is known for its delectable eggs Benedict and breakfast burger, as well as its excellent coffee. Visitors can enjoy the friendly vibes and quick service at this not-so-hidden gem in the Merimbula market. The hot cakes with mascarpone cream are particularly recommended.
I think Mormons is the best café in this town, with the most delicious food and the best atmosphere. I especially love the warm hospitality of their staff. I’ll definitely come again next time!

The breakfast was delicious and there were lots of food and drink options, so everyone was able to choose something to their liking. The staff was extremely friendly and there were lots of places to sit. I’d highly recommend MorMors to anyone!
Zofia M — Google review
MorMors had such great customer service, it was a real highlight to our stay in Merimbula. The staff were happy, kind and funny as well. Just what you want. Also, the coffee was freaking perfect!!! Food was decent as well. I had a breakfast burger and I wanted to marry it.
Joelsk S — Google review
Stopped in to have a little treat and a break, honestly I would come back for the service alone. The lovely Georgia served me, bright, bubbly, very friendly and eager to help Having walked around Merimbula a little today I got myself the Iced Coffee along with the Watermelon, Orange and Ginger Juice. Both wonderfully refreshing. Couldn't say no to the carrot cake either, and I am glad I didn't. The overall atmosphere was honestly awesome, all the staff seem to get along really well. Will certainly be back soon 😊
Maria F — Google review
Lovely staff and a charming café! I heard new management has taken over, and they’re doing a wonderful job. The new management is truly putting their best foot forward — they have a lot on their plate, but what stands out most is their determination. They’re giving their best despite all the challenges, and that’s truly commendable. I had toasties and coffee — both were excellent! With such dedication and hard work, they’re definitely on the path to creating something amazing! Would definitely visit again!!
Charlotte — Google review
I used to absolutely love this place before the new owners took over. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill fast — the customer service is non-existent and the staff are incredibly rude. Today the barista was openly arguing with a customer in front of everyone, which was completely unprofessional. It’s really disappointing to see such a great café lose its charm and respect for customers
Toni H — Google review
I don’t usually write reviews, but seeing the staff working so hard, I just had to boost their spirits! Every new beginning has its challenges — yes, there was a tiny mix-up with my order, but that’s completely okay. “Even the best baristas spill a drop sometimes!” 😄 The new management is clearly putting their heart into everything. I tried the prawn bowl, and it was absolutely delicious, and the latte was amazing too — rich, creamy, and perfectly made. Keep it up, team — small hiccups are just stepping stones to greatness!
Freya — Google review
Visiting from the USA and exploring regional Australia from Sydney, I found Mormors — what a gem! Cozy vibes, amazing food (I especially loved the smoothie!), and the staff went the extra mile to make sure my meal was exactly how I wanted it. Truly felt at home!

Loved this cafe - food, staff, view, atmosphere are all fantastic. Ate here twice while visiting the area, lunch one day, coffee and cake another day. Served both times by MJ, who as well as being friendly, cheerful and efficient, also makes the best coffee ever, just perfect 👌Delicious home made cakes made by the Cafe owner 😋 Will definitely come back when I visit the area again

Sunny’s Kiosk is such a gem! Hands down, the best toastie in the world is their veg toastie with avo. The view from the café is absolutely stunning, the kind of spot you could sit for hours. And the bonus? You can grab a coffee, cocktail or toastie, then head straight out on the water with their boat hire right out the front. Perfect combo of good food, good fun. Tess can make a great margarita

Our morning walk was 2.6kms e/w out from our digs near the bridge along the lovely old wooden boardwalk, and ducked into Sunny's for coffee & cake. Excellent long blacks, great Persian Love cake, stunning views & superb service & atmosphere. Highly recommended.

McDonald's Merimbula, a well-established and enduring fast-food franchise recognized for its hamburgers and French fries, has been frequented by numerous individuals during their holidays in March and April. Unfortunately, there were instances where the Thick shake machine was out of order, although such occurrences are not uncommon. During these visits, patrons had interactions with a courteous young woman named Coco who expressed sincere apologies for the malfunctioning machine.
This is a great McDonald's. Staff are very friendly and try their hardest to keep on to of the cleaning. Great view from the main eating area.

a well maintained, but irregular with service. sometimes they’ll be fast and helpful and other times workers will be chatting away and youre left waiting for 10 minutes whilst other orders are dished out after yours. also my frozen coke was only filled to halfway soo.. idk whats up with that… might as well have gotten a small. at least they actually didnt put pickles in my burger.
Milana K — Google review
This place has truly gone down hill. I’ve lived in the area for a long time and I must say the service has not always been this poor. The managers are very rude, abrupt and no people skills what so ever. Also as I stood waiting for my coffee to be made I had seen the milk jugs sitting on the bench beside the coffee machine that the barista was using without even cleaning between each coffee. Flys landing on them and then him reaching for them and steaming the milk for the next order. Absolutely disgusting I didn’t even drink my coffee after seeing this.

This family-run bakery offers a variety of fresh options, from scrumptious chicken and salad rolls to hearty steak pies and delectable sweet treats like Portuguese tarts and cream buns. Visitors rave about the friendly staff who make every experience enjoyable, whether you're stopping by for breakfast or a quick snack on the go.
Magnificently friendly service. The lady here was just so lovely cheery and helpful. We were on the road and famished and we just wanted a quick snack. The lady made us a very nice chicken and salad roll despite it being after 3pm, and my wife also grabbed a Portuguese tart to go. We also had a coffee each. The food and coffee were both great and were much appreciated. This is a lovely place. We witnessed lots of love from locals who wandered in while we were there, but the people here were also very nice to blow ins like us. With such good food, coffee and service, it is no wonder Backstreet Bakehouse is so highly rated.

Drove down from Tura to get a danish as per the online photos only to be told "we don't do danish as they are too complicated". Well why have photos online of what you don't sell? The food was awful. We were the first in to order but some people who knew the owner walked out the back to great the cook after we had been waiting 15 minutes. That table was served before us. Once our food came out the coffee was ordered take away but given in a mug, the hash browns were put on the owners mates table accidentally then transferred to our table anfter being placed under heat lamps for 10 minutes instead of recooked. The holandaise sauce was inedible. The bread had a huge hole in the middle so it was basically crust. We won’t go again. It’s a shame because we come very visit and this is the first time it’s been awful.

The Merimbula Bakery & Café, also known as Inthemix, offers a delightful array of pies and pastries. Not the first time I’ve been to this bakery, but the Campos coffee is great, the food is great and the staff are friendly. And it’s nice ro sit outside and see the locals dropping in for a coffee and a chat. It’s a dog friendly place too - the lovely bakery lady gave my doggo a nice bit of ham as a treat. Well done!

I’m sorry, but I’ve marked this down on the customer service. We went in at 14:20 and were told that the coffee had to be in take away cups to save them washing up cups. They advertise that they close at 16:00, so how long does it take to wash 2 cups? The customer service is getting dreadful. It almost feels like an inconvenience to shop at small businesses as we’re inconveniencing the owners. Great cakes, average coffee, dreadful service. Sorry, won’t be back
Doug B — Google review
I’ve given this bakery a few chances, but every time I’ve been in the service has been consistently rude. Staff never smile, are very blunt, and make it feel like you’re bothering them just by asking for something simple like a sandwich. On more than one occasion I’ve been told “we don’t have them, they’re not made” with no attempt to be helpful. At that point I usually just walk out. The food doesn’t make up for the service either pies are bland and taste average , and the sausage rolls are greasy and unappetising. Honestly, the only reason I’ve stopped here is when I don’t have the time to drive to a better bakery in Tura beach. Very disappointing overall.
Lenesha E — Google review
Popped in for 2 Pies Today, Had Hands Full so asked if I could Please have a bag, Abrupt and Rude Reply " No Not For Two". Service like this does so much damage to our Tourist Industry. Just Back from Singapore and Thailand and maybe it was the sharp contrast that made me so shocked. When the Tourists have gone next week, my wife and I will not be filling the gap and that's for sure. Better options thankfully in our little corner of Paradise.

Got there 07:30 and told no hot food. Nothing baked fresh that morning so wouldn't class as a bakery.
Dwaine W — Google review
Wouldn’t recommend coming here, the hygiene is very questionable. We saw baby cockroaches crawling over the sweets/pastries. We bought bread here, and found a bug in the bag also. There was also a huge sticky bug catcher down the side that was way overdue to be replaced. Quite disappointed as wanted to support a local business.
