Seven is a stylish and modern venue offering innovative global cuisine, including breakfast, afternoon tea, and Sunday lunch. It's the perfect place to celebrate special occasions with its signature cocktails and bottomless drinks option for weekend breakfasts. Located just a five-minute walk from Derby train station and Pride Park Stadium, it's convenient for travelers and football fans alike. The restaurant prides itself on providing a seamless dining experience by offering reservations to ensure guests can enjoy their meals without any hassle.
We went to Seven for the first time on Sunday, for breakfast. From the moment we arrived, our server was welcoming, attentive and professional. The food was amazing; I had avocado on sourdough and added 2 poached eggs. My poached eggs were perfect (see photo!). I never knew this place existed, I do now and I’m definitely going back. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Well done Seven!

Superb food and great service in a nice atmosphere. Really friendly and efficient and it made for a lovely family meal. The only minus is that we found it too dark, making it difficult to read the menus properly. Even the young ones had phone torches on. Very enjoyable though.

lovely food and great service. Some a good time eating here. Bear in mind Friday can be noisy.

Sunday Birthday meal with friends. Popular place with a buzz, food was very nice. Had a couple of bottles of wine the barman was happy to recommend and gave us tasters. I had the rump steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and was delicious.
Chris R — Google review
I had the pork neck thing, garlic fries and a creme brulee. The pork neck didn't blow me away, it had a bit of a porky taste to it at times which I usually associate with old meat, but it was ok. The fennel sausage stew below it was not bad. The fries were great and I like the creme brulee too, it was good and creamy.

It was my first time here, and will definitely not be my last. Great food, amazing service - 10/10. A special thanks to Millie, Brogan and the rest of the team that took part in making my night super special. Thanks guys🥂

Incredible place. Came here after my graduation and the whole experience was 10/10. The food was great and our server (Tom, I think) was fantastic. They even brought over a token of congratulations which was incredibly lovely. Would really recommend!
Connie N — Google review
The atmosphere and food was tasty, great and affordable. Tom who attended to us, was friendly and professional. The only thing I'll critisize was the time we waited (30 mins) before we were attended to. However, I understand it seemed like a busy evening. It was a lovely night. Thank you

Amazing afternoon at our first visit to the Derby Slug & Lettuce. Lovely venue, great service, especially from Georgina. Would 100% recommend. We will be back. Thank you

We had a great bottomless brunch for a table of 22. We had great food and drinks, definitely recommend the bacon cheeseburger and woo woo drinks. There was great variety for food and drinks and great help from staff as our table had a few allergies. Our server Sam S was a joy and an amazing server. Constantly checking up on us, getting us drinks and overall excellent staff. Would definitely come here again for a bottomless brunch or even a drink with friends. Great atmosphere and vibe.

Lovely afternoon meeting up with friends, Sam S was incredible "Mr" with the help of Callum. Thank you great service even though they were very busy
Fiona R — Google review
Visited on the 25th May for my friend's birthday. We had the bottomless brunch, which consisted of 2 hours of unlimited cocktails and a choice of brunch dish. Our server was Gina, and she was an absolute diamond. Gina was welcoming, funny, and understood the vibe of our group. The Slug was also celebrating its own birthday, and so patrons were treated to a shot of Tequila Rose topped with cream ( very tasty 😋). 2 members of our group had the plant based breakfast, and they raved about how good it was, always a bonus coming from self-confessed carnivores. My goddaughter had the big breakfast, and I had the cheeseburger. We were all pleased with the food, and the cocktails were on point also. The loss in point for atmosphere was not due to the Slug but more to the fact that we were a lively bunch and the other customers seemed much much tamer...lol. Bottomless brunches should always be a vibe, and Gina our server definitely passed ✔️ we will definitely be going back and look forward to even more great customer service.

Had a absolutely wonderful time, did the Afternoon tea and had a good selection of food and drinks, the atmosphere and the staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend and will be going again. Thank you so much to Liv and Dom! 💙💜

We had bottomless brunch booked for 5 of us and really enjoyed our time here. Drinks were a bit slower in being prepared once it began to get busy but the servers made sure we had a great time. Thanks Lu & Kane

Sam S. and Kludia were absolutely wonderful during my husband’s and my brunch date for my birthday! They were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our drinks were always full, and any time we asked for sauces or napkins, they were right there at the table — we never had to wait. Their friendliness and attention to detail really made the experience special. Highly recommend! Good food

Morley Hayes is a luxurious hotel and golf resort nestled in 270 acres of picturesque Derbyshire countryside. The hotel offers 32 contemporary styled rooms with stunning parkland views, including suites with air conditioning, oversized beds, and modern en suite bathrooms. It also features two golf courses, including an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole course, as well as an all-weather driving range.
Roosters on a Sunday……. We shared the starter breads with homemade garlic butter and an oil dip. I had the Salmon with the crushed potatoes in a beautiful creamy sauce with perfectly cooked stem broccoli. For my dessert I always have the same, as extremely full, so one, lovely scoop of their strawberry ice cream with a delicate wafer. The flavours of all of our food choices were out of this world and cooked to perfection! We love dining at Roosters. The service is friendly too. We recommend Morley Hayes.

Very professional, courteous people from the management to all staff. Nothing but good experiences here. Highly recommend all facilities for all purposes as we have experienced every operation here over the years. We recently used the hotel for some Italian guests who found it to be outstanding. The Roosters restaurant provides food worthy of any top class restaurant.

I enjoyed afternoon tea in the newly refurbished Dovecote Restaurant at Morley Hayes as part of a Marketing Derby event and it was probably one of the best afternoon teas I've ever had. The sandwiches were tasty (and interesting) and the cakes were amazing and imaginative. Highly recommended.

We loved the service here. As soon as we were seated we were offered drinks straight away and they arrived quickly. We both chose breakfast and I had the vegetarian option. I really liked that it came with tinned tomatoes as well as beans, as I much prefer that to fresh tomatoes. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. The tables were all laid out with cutlery and glasses and the tea comes in a pot. Overall it was an excellent experience.
Nicki W — Google review
We held our wedding reception at The Dragon on 30/08/25. We were absolutely blown away with the kindness, hospitality and how hard everyone worked to ensure our reception went smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, there was so many compliments said by our family and friends on how amazing the food was and how lovely the room was (Deb at bee sweet occasions did an incredible job!). We had the most amazing day and made some special memories. Thank you so much to all the staff that made our day run smoothly and stress free! Our overnight stay at The Cottage was wonderful. Our room was so gorgeous and clean, we will definitely be booking an overnight stay for our wedding anniversary.

We booked as a party of 8 for a birthday meal, the venue is excellent, the service was excellent, the beer selection was excellent and the food was absolutely amazing. Really, I can't say anything more. The prices are what you'd expect to pay anywhere however, what you pay at the Dragon is well worth every penny so be assured, it's well worth it.. Thanks everyone at the Dragon, we had a brilliant meal.
Jai C — Google review
Lovely food in a pleasant setting. Service is usually good, although you can get a little forgotten when the pub is busy. Sunday lunch is a set menu and is reasonable although they now add an optional service charge of 10%. Our son loves the chunky chips! Standard food is a little overpriced.
Andy W — Google review
The food was excellent — the Sweet & Sour Chicken starter was delicious, and the mixed platter roast dinner was really tasty. Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was also great — friendly, attentive, and exactly what you’d hope for. A couple of things that could be improved: -A 10% service charge was added automatically to the bill. Personally, I find it more comfortable to add a tip myself if I’m happy with the service (and in this case I absolutely would have, since the service was excellent). -The men’s toilets unfortunately weren’t clean. One had no toilet paper and was dirty, and the other was even worse, so I wasn’t able to use them. -There were a lot of flies, which was uncomfortable. I would suggest something like a fly fan repellent on the tables. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and service, but a little more attention to the small details would make the experience even better.
Rob T — Google review
I visited the Dragon for a bit of nostalgia with my father last week and what a great experience. The sun was warm, the beer was cold, the staff were friendly, the outdoor seats were comfortable and the view of the canal reminded me of my childhood. What a great way to spend a late Summer afternoon.
Tall — Google review
Great pub with great food. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. Kids had a good choice and reasonably good value for what you get. Also good to have a kids activity sheet on the back of the menu. Only off putting thing was all of the damn flies. I appreciate that it is hot outside, but there were lots and they were buzzing around us and our food. It stopped the experience from being 5*. Need to install one of those fly lights that kills them.
Monty8urns — Google review
Lovely place for a small gathering. They have separate rooms for parties and bigger bookings, as well as an outdoor seating area by the boats for comfort and scenery. Adequate children's menu and good options for dessert. Washrooms cater for toddlers (nappy changing area) and are clean and presentable too. Reasonably priced too. Main disappointment was that we were not allowed to decorate the table for a birthday party, reasoning provided that it's too much cleaning for housekeeping, so my friend offered to clean it herself - I've never known for a customer to clean up themselves like that.

Hassop Station Cafe and Monsal Trail Cycle Hire is a charming spot located on the edge of the Peak District, offering a variety of experiences for visitors. The old station building houses a bright cafe with cosy sofas and a large sun terrace facing the Monsal Trail.
Been here a few times for breakfast and coffees. The staff are fantastic so friendly and courteous. The food is out of this world, probably not a good idea to have a big breakfast before going for a big walk as my husband has found out but still insists on having them haha. I highly recommend going, we drive over an hour to visit.
Dawn B — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience at the Hassop Station Cafe. When we first arrived, we were impressed by the extensive menu after a very long walk. We ordered at the till, but the person who took our order didn’t input it correctly. After a while, we received one of our meals and patiently waited for the other. However, that one never came so I went to check on what’s going on. They had only put through one meals despite there clearly being two of us? Oh well, mistakes happen and I reordered the second meal. While dealing with that, my partner’s fish finger sandwich had gone stone cold. So she went to look for cutlery so we could share it (rather than make a scene and send it back). There were none in any of the canteen style trays provided because it was quite busy, fair enough. So she asked a staff member for a knife - only to be met with an eye roll and a patronising response to look in the trays despite already doing so. It just felt like we were being an inconvenience to the staff. Overall, we were looking forward to visiting after seeing good reviews online and on social media - we just had a disappointing experience. The food was average but expensive.
Joel A — Google review
Lots to see and do at Hassop Station Cafe. Right on thw Monsal trail, this ex train station building has been transformed into a hub for those undertaking outdoor bound activities in the nearby area. Easy access, traffic free access onto the picturesque monsal trail coupled with various bike hire options aids with this. Hassop cafe is also a solid food and drink choice in itself. There is a good eange of savoury and sweet options across the site including pizzas outside in summer. I have had various of these on numerous visits and can attest for their quality across the board. There is a large shop attached to the cafe selling a range of items produced in the local area. Service I have received here has always been friendly and helpful.
REG — Google review
We stopped off at Hassop Station to break our journey home from visiting our family. We ordered a Hassop big breakfast, which we shared between the two of us. The breakfast arrived very quickly and was piping hot. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee which was also excellent. Thank you to all the pleasant staff, which make Hassop Station a joy to stop at for a break and a special thanks to the chefs and kitchen team we don't see working behind the scenes preparing the food we enjoy. Looking forward to stopping off again soon.
Tom L — Google review
Called in for lunch and had a great meal. We had the ploughman's and the steak & ale pie. Both were large meals and spot on. Despite being busy we didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. Be careful where you park. Part of the car park is for visitors to the cafe and is free, but the majority of the car park is pay & disply display.
Craig H — Google review
Bike hire gave us a bike with a flat tire but that was quickly replaced when we returned it. Cafe was a shambles - dirty crockery, they'd run out of cutlery and the food took 55 minutes to arrive. Had to pay for extra parking as a result. No apology, no offer of a free drink and no mention of a huge wait on ordering. Family next to us left after getting a refund, having waited for 45 minutes for lunch.

Castlewood Brewers Fayre is a charming family-friendly pub and restaurant located in South Normanton, where the focus is on delivering classic dishes alongside international favorites. This inviting establishment prides itself on offering great-value meals in a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families to gather and enjoy delicious food together. Guests can indulge in a variety of tasty options, including the must-try Lowcountry Bouillabaisse featuring shrimp and scallops.
Castlewood Brewers Fayre offers a reliably enjoyable experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food was tasty and arrived promptly, a testament to the efficient service. We were particularly impressed with the speed without any compromise on quality. The facilities were generally well-maintained, with the toilets being clean and in good order. However, the smaller toilets had a minor issue worth noting: an exposed pipe above the urinal. While this didn't detract significantly from the overall experience, it was a slightly untidy detail in otherwise well-kept restrooms. Despite this small point, Castlewood Brewers Fayre provides good value with its tasty food, quick service, and genuinely friendly staff. We would happily recommend it for a casual and satisfying meal.
Zack E — Google review
Visited on a Sunday but missed the carvery owing to it looked like it had been all sold out on a busy afternoon. So had the burrito bowl and a bit of garlic bread. Both served well, fresh, hot and tasty. The burrito bowl is spicy but not overbearing. All staff are really friendly and approachable so no worries on that front. A bit pricier for food than greene king and a lot more expensive than spoons but the calibre is better - I think anyway. Environment was clean but furniture a bit tired. Very warm inside. Great thing is that the soft drinks are refillable too so once you've paid once you just go back up and serve yourself more. Will definitely visit again.

Travelled here to eat as it stood out for keeping the kids occupied whilst we ate! Honestly cannot fault Castlewood Brewers Fayre! The food was great, for both the kids & us adults! The bit that really set it off for us was that you can actually sit IN the play area (or as close as) and eat food whilst keeping a close eye on the little ones. I’d say that the price of food was definitely fair and with a selection of bottomless drinks, also very handy whilst sat in the play area for a while or so. The staff were polite and attentive. Food was hot when it got to the table so there’s no reason for us to moan. Will definitely be returning as the kids had a blast, now they know the place I’d imagine that next time will be even better!

Best buffet breakfast around, all you can eat for 10.99 you can't beat it. Even tea and coffee and juice is included. They have cooked breakfast, crumpets and croissants and pain au chocolate, and a selection of cereals. The range of breakfast items is impressive

Massive thank you, we had our wedding reception here on Friday, staff were amazing and very attentive nothing too much trouble manager was great had everything in control went over and above to make things run smoothly, we choose a three course meal from the menu but gave it them days before to make things easier. We had 32 guests and everyone had chosen what they wanted food was perfect came out hot and together, perfect day and I will certainly recommend thank you

First time tonight, and we'll definitely come back. The staff were all lovely, especially the lady behind the bar with the tattoos & piercings, we had a right laugh with her. I explained my food intollerances to the staff, and they couldn't do enough to help - I was even handed the kitchen copy of ingredients and allergens to make sure I was happy. The 8oz rump steaks we had were cooked to perfection, my husband had the tikka masala which he was very impressed with and my daughter loved the haddock & chips - the haddock was huge and it was good that there weren't too many chips. My other daughter loved the pizza. Desserts were all delicious and it was clean plates all round. All in all, a very good experience, and we will happily visit again.

Tamper Sellers Wheel is a trendy cafe-eatery in Sheffield, offering carefully sourced coffees and New Zealand-style light bites. The original Tamper Coffee on Westfield Terrace provides a small, cozy neighborhood coffee shop experience, while Sellers Wheel on Arundel Street offers a larger space with a strong focus on food but still maintains an emphasis on great coffee.
Great menu and good service. Good gluten free options. I chose the mushrooms on sourdough which was amazing, also crab and prawn linguine was delicious as was the scrambled egg with crab. Food was faultless as was the service. It was very noisy in the back part of the restaurant, it was quite busy but probably because of the actual building itself. My autistic daughter found the noise level a little overwhelming. 4 meals and drinks the bill came to £75. Definitely recommend this place.

Really nice place with a variety of very original options for breakfast - Couldn’t decide on what to get as everything looked delicious. Very tasty and fair portions. The place itself is very busy - we visited for the first time as we were passing by so without the reservation we had to wait for a table. I would therefore recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting over the weekend. The food arrived quite promptly though. The only issue I had was the very loud music they had. Difficult to have a conversation with such volume.
A — Google review
Tamper is easily one of my favourite brunch spots in Sheffield…..I’ve been a few times now for both food and coffee, and it’s consistently been excellent. The food really is the standout! Creative, well-balanced dishes that always hit the mark. Hands down some of the best brunch you’ll find in the city. Coffee is solid too, and I’ve had a cocktail or two on occasion…. also really good….but it’s the food that keeps me coming back. It’s always busy whenever I’ve been (usually weekends), so definitely worth booking ahead if you don’t want to be waiting or risk missing out on a table. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out, I’ve always sat outside, which is a nice spot to relax, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re visiting Sheffield, it’s a must-visit. If you’re based here, it should already be on your regular rotation.

Warm, cozy and calm vibes, friendly staffs, the foods smell good, we sat close to the kitchen. I went here with my friends, they loved the menu due to the juicy meats and big portion, also with reasonable price. We also got milky chai, flat white and yellow smoothie (mango).

If there are 10 stars I will give 10 stars. We live in Leeds and travelled to Sheffield yesterday and found this lovely cafe. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were super nice too! Will definitely come back to Sheffield solely for Tamper!!

Absolutely 10/10 for this place! First visit and the food had blown me away! I had the brisket and eggs benedict followed by the French toast. Both were the best I've had before. Add the atmosphere and really lovely staff. Winner. Book in advance though.

We recently had The Cafe at Green Pavilion do the catering for our daughter's 21st party. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The food was outstanding, all homemade and beautifully fresh. There was a great variety of choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. The delivery, set up and presentation was first class. All our guests commented on the food. It literally made the event perfect. Thank you Jo and Simon and everyone at the cafe who worked so hard to make everything perfect.

Came for brunch and a nice coffee. Love the atmosphere and comfy sofa. We missed the breakfast by about 20 mins so selected from their lunch menu instead. We ordered burger and lamb burger. They were both a bit on the dry side although the patties were thick and obviously hand made, which is a plus point. Now, their salads. Fantastic! Homemade, really tasty and generous in the servings.

A great lunch spot recommended by two local ladies. I sat at the window stools looking out at the gorgeous park and ate a terrific mushroom sandwich with chips and a rocket salad (arugula for you US folks.) Lovely lunch and affordable.

Wonderful sandwiches! I had mushroom, vegan cheese and pesto on brown bread and I can honestly say that it was easily one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had. A big shout-out to the young chefs as this really was made with care and tasty flair! Brilliant! The customer service was outstanding too and our dog in a buggy was able to come in and be parked up with us! The table service was fantastic to have and all staff were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. A huge thank you to you all!

Ladies and gentlemen I produce you exhibit A - Eggs Royale. The food was very pricy for the quality of the foods that was given. The eggs royale was was not quite as I expected it. Usually it should come with muffins however, this one had 2 slices of bread that was of basic quality that you would find in supermarket. The sausage was also of low quality and was not even cut when placed in the ciabatta. It had only one egg which again was not of farm quality. The ciabatta was not toasted. On the other hand coffee was very good! I am not mad but just disappointed with the quality and price ratio of the food. I most likely won’t be returning again. Cameron was happy though.

This has to go down as one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. Really great to see someone put so much thought into the make up of a vegan breakfast. You could really tell that the food was home made. Sadly I was only in Buxton for one day but I will definitely return.

Lovely little atmospheric cafe near the centre of Buxton. Very friendly and helpful staff. The cake portions were huge and very tasty. Also dog friendly, so didn’t have to sit outside in the rain. Highly recommended 👍

Charming place with tasty food and cake, and good service. Sitting outside in the sun with a good busker and beautiful buildings to look at was great. Lunch with two drinks each was about £20 each.

Proove Pizza in Didsbury has expanded its menu to include a variety of vegan pizzas, offering nine options designed by vegans for vegans. From classic Margherita to unique creations like the Art-Beet and La Contadina, there's something for everyone. In Sheffield, Proove is a beloved favorite known for its traditional wood-fired pizzas made with quality ingredients sourced from Italy.
Quality pizza. I had the ortolona which is already vegetarian with eggplants as the main topping. Though I think fungi is a better option since its mushrooms were more spread out across the pizza, and the sauces better complimented mushroom. Sat downstairs around the bar. Didn't feel like any drinks but the same waiters kept coming back to ask about it. Had such a great time i forgot to take photos much.

THE PIZZAS WERE RAW! Worse pizza & pizza delivery experience of my life. First they send the wrong pizza. We wait for the right ones to arrive. And then? They send raw pizzas!!! Absolutely not edible. They had to know that. Horrible customer experience. And now we’ll see if we get refunded…

Love the pizza here, delicious. Really good kids menu which is generous and cost effective. But as it gets into winter I think anyone sat near the door will get sick of the deliveroo drivers making the restaurant cold. Maybe request a table downstairs. We were booked for 6pm and our food arrived quickly. Very tasty. Did have to keep chasing the service for taking plates away and the bill. Our kids love it here though so we would be back. The waitresses were kind and cute with our children.

Proove in broomhill used to be my favourite place to eat - I have genuinely eaten some of the nicest pizzas in my life here but since last year it has gone incredibly downhill (pictures attached). I would no longer recommend proove as a place to go as the quality of the food is now so bad in comparison. The first pictures uploaded are from 2023 and the last picture was from my last visit. The toppings are consistently stingy, especially regarding the cheese and tomato sauce which is just laughable. It’s so unfortunate as it used to be the best pizzas in sheffield. No longer worth the money.

Proove pizza catered for our wedding in the Peak District and were absolutely fantastic. Everyone said how delicious the pizzas were. Sam and Andrew were excellent hosts and it was great fun to watch them in action. We would highly recommend for any event where you need to feed a crowd!

Embarrassingly bad. We sat down and the table was covered in honey, like obviously there’s going to be honey on their but don’t have someone guide you to a table that hasn’t be cleaned. So we had to get the woman to clean the table and it was still sticky even without the honey, clearly the varnish from the table had been left on and not dried out properly. We then moved to another 4 seat table had to move back because the woman wanted us to, come on we’re paying you good money for this! Waited 35 minutes to be asked what we were ordering which was absolutely ridiculous, we were just sat waiting doing nothing. Ordered the food and 3 of the meals had arrived 20 minutes later and the fourth was not here. The fourth meal came out 15 minutes later than the first three which just straight up terrible service.for was okay but not worth the £20 maybe a fiver! We have recently ordered form prove online and they didn’t even cook our food so when the delivery driver got there he couldn’t take our food which is just pure lazy. Overall not very good food rude and impatient staff and atmosphere and furniture was terrible. Don’t go to proove go to rudys in town a millions times better and a bit cheaper as well

The food is amazing! We had bruschetta, pizza and cheesecake! The cheesecake was the creamiest cheesecake I've ever had, it was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and always had a smile. The restaurant itself was warm and cozy. Lovely decor and relaxing atmosphere.

While cycling in Marple Bridge, I stumbled upon a charming cafe/restaurant called Libby's Bread and Wine. Situated in a peaceful location with sunny outdoor seating overlooking the river, this place offers a warm and inviting atmosphere both inside and out. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasant experience for all visitors. They even provide bike storage near the outdoor seating area.
Last Thursday (18th June) my Mum and I visited Libbys, we’d been saving it for when we had nice weather, so seeing the how lovely it was going to be, I called on the Tuesday and made a reservation for the evening and on the roof terrace! It was SO lovely! Sat right next to the River Goyt, in the tree’s! We ordered quite a few things plus 2 glasses of wine each (the glasses were perfect - Not the awful stubby ones)! Our waitress Isabella, was so nice! Already looking for rare to our next visit!

We came for dinner and the service was excellent. I love that they accomodated us inside even though we booked the terrace initially. The food and drinks we ordered was full of flavour and dessert was lush! Even though it got busier, service was still attentive. We are going to return again!

If you’re thinking of booking for any special occasion or going in general don’t bother! Reserved a table for my daughter’s birthday and had to provide card details when booking. Arrived to no table reserved for us and got put upstairs to which I can only describe as a run down overspill room and stores for stock! Incredibly disappointed and you could also see this on my daughter’s face. Service was slow and drinks were nearly finished by the time the food came. My husband ordered the full breakfast and was then told they had no sausages until after 11:30. Food is barely edible; Eggs over cooked, bacon covered in black oily burnt bits, mushy hash brown come potato cake. The only decent thing on the plate were the beans and that’s saying something. The cups with sugar packets had dirt and let’s say short and curlys stuck to them. Flies buzzing round. Old birthday balloons floating round the ceiling. Strong smell of grease. £70 for a very disappointing birthday treat. Never again. Ohh and as for the pastries you see…hardly any available!

I visited yesterday with some friends for brunch. We had booked a table on the terrace but due to the wet weather the day before, they sat us upstairs. We were completely fine with this and understood that they can’t control the weather. Our waitress was extremely blunt and made us seem like we were being an inconvenience for being there which I’ve never experienced before. No friendly welcome whatsoever and we seemed to burden her for asking if there was any more sugar. We then waiting a long time for our food to come out. They did say they were understaffed so we were okay to wait, but when the food came, the wait was not worth it. My friend ordered scrambled eggs which were more like an omelette and our toasties were very basic with chips that were overdone. When we came to pay, the waitress rolled her eyes when we asked to pay separately and asked twice if we could just pay together. There has been a lot of hype about this place over social media but the only good thing about this place is the terrace, definitely not the food or staff

Fantastic food. The lass that served us was a little miserable but all other staff were great . Just one thing we picked up on was, that the same tongs were used for all take away pastries, even the ones that contained nuts, now that could be lethal if someone has a nut allergy. Just some constructive criticism, and can be easily solved. Having said all that our experience was great

Sadly our lunch on Sunday was let down by poor service. On arrival it took about 10 minutes to get staff attention, I appreciate that it was busy and it would not be an issue if not for the front of the house member who eventually acknowledged us pushed past us to get to the bar and greeted us with audible sign and overall came across as dismissive. We were then seated to our table upstairs by another member of staff. We were served quickly, food and drinks were nice and it was nice and spacious upstairs, I would however suggest that armchairs by the window are deep cleaned or replaced as they were stained. On leaving we were seen to by the same front of the house staff who once again was quite blunt and it felt like we somehow wronged her personally, which is not the type of service you expect when you pay close to 60£ for a lunch. We’ve had previous positive experiences at Libby’s but I’m not sure that we’ll look to come back again.

We were sat down at our reserved table for 30 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink despite the tables next to us being sat down after us and served before us. The food was lovely, however the service is slow and the atmosphere is too loud with the music and busy tables.

Nestled just outside Derby in the charming village of Mickleover, Binary Bar & Restaurant is a delightful destination that promises an unforgettable experience, especially with its enticing bottomless brunch available every Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. For £26.99 per person, guests can sip on a fantastic selection of cocktails like passionfruit bellini and elderflower mimosa, alongside Prosecco and local beers.
A group of us went for Bottomless Brunch at The Binary. The food was really good, although a couple of the dishes could have been hotter. The Korean chicken was yummy and the portion sizes of all dishes included in the brunch were good. The drinks kept flowing and we had really good service from the moment we sat down from Ryan, Zara and Harriet. We would not hesitate to go again as we all enjoyed it and it was a lovely way to spend a Saturday lunch time👍
Karen B — Google review
First visit to The Binary in Mickleover I’ve always been keen to try this place as I’m a regular at The Dragon in Willington, which is their sister pub. We came here for an evening meal - a group of 14 for a work leaving do and had to pre-book our food. I went for the Korean chicken burger. When we arrived, we ordered our drinks, but they took quite a while to arrive. In fact, myself and another person ended up waiting nearly an hour for my beer and her cocktail, which my manager eventually had to complain about. It was a bit frustrating, especially as we kept asking about them, and others in our group were already receiving their second drinks. To make matters worse, our food was served before the drinks arrived, however there was an apology when they finally turned up. I had the Korean chicken burger with chips and coleslaw, as did a few others. We all agreed it was quite dry — more like something you’d expect from KFC and the coleslaw portion was very small. A few others in our group had small issues with their meals too, including food not being served hot enough. After the meal, we decided to skip dessert and more drinks to avoid further delays and headed to the pub next door instead. A shame really, but I might give it another try in the future.

Disappointing evening at the Binary. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was really disappointing. The food was unfortunately bland and boring. Also, did not taste fresh. The presentation was so poor, a 3 year old could have done better. The simplest dishes were hard to enjoy. The portions were also on the small size. The staff were polite, but the quality of the food really let the place down. I hope they can improve because the location and atmosphere.

Second time for food, not disappointed. They made an error with our order, input large instead of small but still gave us large and charged for what we originally ordered, hence too much too eat, but luckily we got doggy bags. I love it and definitely go back again.

Absolutely fantastic Bottomless Brunch. I can honestly say we have never had such fantastic service. Our server Ryan was the epitome of customer service. Will we be coming back? Absolutely. A great lunchtime experience.
Jim D — Google review
My husband and I recently went for a meal at the Binary and were disappointed with the portion sizes and price of the meal. The menu has changed, instead of ordering a ‘full’ meal e.g. fish and chips, you now have to order the fish, and then add the chips on top. This is the case for all of the meals on there from memory. You can choose to have a small or large portion. I find it quite confusing to be honest, there’s far too much on there and it’s not clear how big or small the portions are! I ordered a small Thai curry and it was literally tiny. I feel the quality of the food is good but for the price you’d expect the portions to be better and to come with sides! Another example is we both ordered deserts which were the eton mess ice cream pots. It was literally one scoop of ice cream in a pot with a small sprinkle of meringue, 2 raspberries and small drizzle of sauce… we paid £9.99 for that! I love the building and the atmosphere in there but I won’t return again because I don’t feel its value for money at all.

We stayed for one night. A beautiful hotel in a great location, across from pavilion gardens walking distance from the station and parking direct outside. Well appointed and furnished rooms, and friendly, helpful staff. We had breakfast in the restaurant and highly recommend for breakfast or lunch if you're in Buxton.

We had our wedding reception at No.6 this weekend. It was absolutely fantastic, ran like clockwork and the team here are so lovely, welcoming and professional. The venue is stunning, and really showcases the unique heritage of Buxton in the beautiful High-Peak of North Derbyshire. The catering was out of this world and was exactly what we’d hoped it would be and more. Our guests were raving about the whole event - it was perfect!! We would recommend ‘No.6 The Tearooms’ to anyone who is looking for an intimate venue in a beautiful setting, any day of the week. We will be back to celebrate an anniversary without any doubt. Thanks!!

I had hoped, after having travelled many miles, and booking well in advance, that afternoon tea would have been a lovely precursor to a show at the Opera House. Unfortunately it was not. There are 3 areas in the restaurant: a lovely lounge area, a cosy more rural themed area and the service area, where staff are coming back and forth and people pay at the till in front of the counter. On arrival I was seated in the service area. Someone really needs to get the staff to understand that afternoon tea is an experience not just food. That's why you pay more!!!!. However, after being relocated tea was brought out. The sandwiches were too thickly filled and had one half white bread and one half brown. It didn't taste right and staff should ask which is preferable. Then the Scones...just awful. I couldn't eat mine. So big, but dense, salty and dry. It was like eating a lump of brown bread with jam and cream. If it wasn't for the raisins I would have mistaken them for that. The cakes were nice, but only one pavlova and there were two of us. I would have reflected all this back, but no-one came to ask us if everything was ok. It was a busy day but that is no excuse. I still had to pay £54, not value for money and will not be back or be recommending.

Lovely place to eat,and very nice interior with different tea pots around the room. Food was very nice. Portion for the sandiwch and quiche was nice. Jacket potatoe found was a tad small compared to a normal jacket potatoe but everything still.tasted well and service is great. The dessert so many to choose from but the lemon cake and the choclate torte and freshly made scone and clotted cream was amazing. Would recommend

The Kelham Island location offers a unique atmosphere dating back to the 1100s, showcasing the city's industrial heritage. The extensive menu includes various breakfast dishes such as eggs on toast, Turkish eggs, smoked salmon and avo croissant, pancakes with delicious toppings, and granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. Additionally, the cafe's infamous sausage rolls are a must-try for visitors.
Lovely cafe with a cosy atmosphere. We arrived late morning for coffee and cakes, however most of the other diners were enjoying a late breakfast, which looked really good and definitely worth sampling on another visit. There was a very good hot drinks menu and a great selection of cakes. We chose millionaires shortbread, chocolate brownie and apple cake and all were declared delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a nice atmosphere. We were lucky and managed to get a table straight away at 11am on a Sunday morning but it was very popular and full the whole time we were there. Will definitely visit again.

Food was outstanding but unfortunately the service let our experience down. There seemed to be little communication between front of house staff as we were told we could sit at a table and then were stopped saying we couldn’t and then we could again. Went to the till to order and asked if there were any specials on to be met with “what do you mean, what you see is what we’ve got”. My friend ordered her food before me and mine came first and my drink arrived when I’d nearly finished my food in a takeaway cup because there were no glasses clean. I know on a Sunday it’s busy but I wouldn’t say it was overly busier than what should be expected in a Sunday and it seemed to be well staffed.

Came here on Good Friday with people from work. Place was heaving as you would expect. We were pleasantly surprised how fast the food came out. My pizza was a little underdone, but I didn't get unwell, so that's fine. Lots of rowdy drunk blokes at noon around the bar, screaming and chanting. Thought a member of staff might have said something, but I could tell they were all really stressed out at how busy it was, and I, of course, don't blame them. It was cheap and cheerful, really, but it was a decent experience. No car park on site, but if you arrive early, there are a few car parks in Buxton a few minutes walk away. I would return!

A wonderful café that truly deserves 5 stars.

Excellent platters for our tenth anniversary party. Beautifully presented with a wide range of lovely fresh food. There was something for everyone and everyone had plenty. This is the second time we have had the platters and they are consistently excellent. Highly recommended. Thank you to Donna and team.

Nestled in the charming town of Belper, The Lion Hotel is a beautifully restored 18th-century coaching inn that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy individually designed rooms adorned in soothing pastel hues, each featuring an en suite bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries. The hotel boasts a vibrant bar area and offers free Wi-Fi along with private parking for added convenience.
Only a one night stay . Staff extremely friendly and welcoming , nothing too much trouble . The pizzas were spot on , really enjoyed them . Continental breakfast more than enough would definitely recommend for a stay , ideally located to the town centre and other activities. Only slight fault , room needed a little bit of tlc but nothing major and certainly didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Would stay here again when we return to belper .

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel which is in an ideal spot in Belper. We had continental breakfast, which was good, but we didn't dine in the restaurant. The bedroom had everything we needed but was a little tired. The communal areas were fine and there's plenty of space including a pleasant beer garden to enjoy food and drink. The bar has a good vibe and the staff were excellent.

Great service, very relaxed and helpful. Good menu choices for those eating in. Ideally situated for a walk around Belper but as well for exploring Derbyshire, either by car or bud. The bus station is in easy walking distance.

The garage across the road runs a compressor all night. The extractor fan in the bathroom is genuinely louder than my vacuum cleaner (I tried isolating it but the switch had been painted over, sticking it in the on position). Even the cold bathroom tap causes the pipes to loudly whistle (more like scream) when you turn them on. The room also has a Saniflo style toilet which runs a motor after you flush it and makes the bathroom smell of sewage. The reception staff was sympathetic of the issues but wasn't able to offer me a different room as they were fully booked. Don't stay here, and if you do, specifically avoid rooms 8&9.

Stopped for dinner here whilst on holiday. Great service and delicious food. Thought cost value for what we got was very good. Very impressed with my gluten free pizza. Would certainly come here again if in Belper.

A big thank you to Tony and the team at the Lion for a fantastic evening. The preparation, communication, and support were all outstanding. The venue is highly recommended, and we can’t wait to book our next show here.

This review is for the restaurant only. I can't rate this place highly enough, the food was the best I've tried anywhere, the staff were attentive, polite, well presented and professional. I had the roast pork Sunday lunch my husband had the beef, both dishes were absolutely delicious. Gorgeous, friendly pub/restaurant and a return visit is happening very soon.

The server at the Dorchester told us the pizza at the Lion Hotel was her favorite and now we concur. The chefs at the brick oven turnout a perfect crust - crispy, chewy with a bit of char! We had a shrimp appetizer also. Just delicious.

Blenheim House is a 17th-century building offering nine individually decorated en-suite bedrooms, including classic rooms and two feature suites. The Samuel Sleigh Suite features a four-poster bed with original oak beams, while the Thomas Gerard Suite boasts a king-size sleigh bed and exposed wooden beams. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen Freeview televisions, hairdryers, and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can also enjoy free WiFi throughout the property.
Stayed here for my time in Etwall and you couldn’t pick a better spot. The location is fantastic and the room itself was nicely decorated and well maintained. This is all second to the first rate service and the friendliest of staff, who were extremely helpful during my visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in lovely Etwall.

I had the suite here last night. The staff were friendly and the room was lovely, but if you're a cold person I'd avoid outside summer. It was quite cold, and the room wasn't overly warm. There was also the issue of 0 phone signal, which obviously isn't the hotels issue, but it made communication an issue. The WiFi was adequate, and overall a good stay. Just sort out the radiators and duvet :-)
Rob P — Google review
Stayed for one night with my partner. Whilst the rooms were basic you get what you pay for and they met our needs completely. The area was good without too much noise and the bed was comfortable and clean. Richard was very friendly and accommodating and definitely added to our positive impression of the stay. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cheap, clean and comfortable place.

Brilliant overnighter- only required a small room and it was super comfortable, very quiet and conducive to a good night's sleep. Nice bar, and superb continental breakfast. A pleasure to meet Richard too, and chat over all things Stockport.

My wife and I stayed at the Blenheim House hotel recently for a family wedding that was being held locally. On arrival we were met by Richard the owner, who was as charming and lovely as he was during our phone call when I wanted to make changes to our online booking ( annoying as that might have been). We stayed for 2 nights in a very comfortable and competitively priced room with all the amenities you need for a short stay. Richard was always available, and he even gave us his personal mobile number incase we needed anything. His passion to offer a great guest experience is visually abundant and warming. The breakfast was superb on both mornings, with plenty of options of fruit, cereals, toast and the main event, the full English. Thank you Richard and the team. We had a great stay. Lisa & Noel

We were in a compact room outside of the main pub, and it suited us fine. It had everything we could have needed and was a great base for us after Alton Towers. The people who work here though truly are the kindest and friendliest. I somehow lost my purse in their car park and they found it, contacted me and kept it safe until we could come back for it. They even offered to post it for me. It was such a relief for it to be found. I just wanted to say a massive thank you again.
Danielle K — Google review
I booked two double rooms for my husband and I and our two sons, to attend a nearby wedding venue. I called to see if we could check in early so we could attend the wedding ceremony at 1.30pm. I spoke to Richard who said we could check in at my requested time as we just wanted to get changed and leave our bags in the rooms. The rooms were lovely, very comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities and a tv with Netflix available. Breakfast the next morning was extremely nice, full English breakfast with toast and croissants. And as much tea and coffee as we needed. Richard was nice and friendly throughout and engaged with all of us. I would highly recommend a stay here and will re book again if I am over that way again
Deb H — Google review
I stayed here for one night to attend a wedding nearby. I was completely blown away by the service Richard provided, I've never stayed somewhere so accomodating. I needed to be with the bride in the morning and wasn't able to make it over to the hotel until the wedding finished. Richard drove over to the venue to drop the keys off, gave me instructions and took all my belongings back with him so I didn't need to carry them back over in the early hours of the morning! He was then awake when I got there at about 1am to let me in. The next morning breakfast was lovely and Richard couldn't be more friendly and accomodating. This place feels so much more personal than a standard hotel stay and I had a lovely time. The building is beautiful with lots of character and the rooms are clean, spacious and well presented with all of the amenities you need. I would certainly book to stay here again if I'm ever in the area!

I have a tough time finding restaurants that have any gluten free offerings. The kind gentleman at No. 10 offered to make me any sandwich they have with gluten free bread. I had a great sandwich, a side salad and the best fries I've had in the UK so far. I was so hungry, and had been up and down the street looking for something I could eat. It also looked like they had an amazing selection of baked goods. Great food, great service, great attitude. Thank you. Highly recommend.

The Yondermann cafe is a longstanding establishment in Wardlow Mires, Wardlow, Buxton with delicious hot chocolate and an extensive menu. The service was quick and the staff were all excellent. The breakfast had was also very good. Lots of parking and clean toilets are available. Plenty of seating outside is also available.
Stopped here to grab a fry up after a night of camping and to fuel up before climbing, and was not disappointed, the fry up was fantastic and gave me the option to adjust my dish without trouble, filtered coffee included was fantastic. I hardly ever leave a review, but a good fry up deserves one. Recommend to travelers passing through.

Visited the youndermann for breakfast, got a small youndermann breakfast. Everything was really good, the mushrooms and the oatcake were not my favourite but thats just personal preference 🙂 this breakfast comes with a choice of tea or coffee. Beautiful scenery if you sit outside, overall lovely place to visit. It is out of the way, but is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely ride out to the Yonderman last weekend. Breakfast was perfect however the coffee was horrendous. Tasted like dirty dishwater. Got it changed and it was no different so went and got an orange juice instead. Just bear that in mind.

This soy latte ☕️ & lemon meringue kronut 🍋 was honestly the perfect start to my day. The kronut was incredible — crispy on the outside, soft inside, with that sweet-but-not-too-sweet lemon filling that melts in your mouth. I was worried it might be greasy, but it wasn’t at all — it was light, fresh, and gone in just two minutes! 💛 And their soy latte? The temperature was just right — perfect for someone impatient like me who can’t wait for coffee to cool down 😂 So smooth and comforting. Pure happiness in a cup. 🤍

I was recommended this café by a coworker. I chose to come here today and I was not disappointed. The quality of the coffee is to a very high standard and I can tell they take it seriously. I also took a chive and cream cheese beigl. I have very high standards when it comes to beigls given my background, but the plain beigl I tried was simply delicious. My only issue was the amount of cream cheese was overwhelming, but it's better to have more than less! The prices here are also very reasonable considering what you get for the price. I will be coming here again during my break some time.

The Old Market Hall - JD Wetherspoon in Mexborough is a brilliant place for an evening meal with friendly staff and excellent value for money. The meals are fantastic and come with a drink, making it a great deal. The venue has stairs at the entrance but also offers a lift, while the toilets are spacious and clean. Ordering from the table using an app is convenient, although some chairs may appear stained. Despite this, the tables are well-maintained.
Can't really fault this place. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, consistently good food. Usual amazing Wetherspoons prices. £2.99 for a breakfast muffin and a bottomless hot drink 👍🏻

I recently visited The Old Market Hall in Doncaster, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the spacious and well-maintained interior, which has a charming blend of history and modern comfort. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drink. Ordering was easy using the Wetherspoon app, and my food and drinks arrived surprisingly quickly. I went for the classic fish and chips, which was perfectly cooked—crispy batter, flaky fish, and generous portions. My friend opted for a gourmet burger, which also looked and tasted great. The prices were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. The drinks selection was excellent, with a wide range of ales, lagers, and spirits. I tried a guest ale that was smooth and well-poured. The staff were friendly and efficient, making sure tables were cleared quickly and customers were happy. The cleanliness of the pub really stood out—it’s well-kept and even has award-winning facilities. Overall, The Old Market Hall is a top-notch Wetherspoon pub that I’d happily visit again. Great service, great food, and great value!

What has happened re food here? It was terrible!! Ordered the bean Chilli .first was a kids portion..The bowl of chilli wasn't even half full.. plus was all sauce.. 2nd looked like the chilli sauce as that's what it was and the little bit of rice on the plate looked like it had been put in the microwave and sauce all dried up on top the rice was in hard dried clumps..Terrible!! Usually a nice meal for the price but now it wasnt worth what I paid. We have breaks in Chesterfield sometimes and we found this place. Realised also one near where we live so I'll certainly try that too! Meals were good every time. We've been here a few times on each break so can recommend the range and quality on the menu, the friendliness of the staff, animal and child friendly with play corners and lots of toys. The clientele in here seems good too so nothing to complain about as they even got us in on Saturday when very busy and the meals were good! Thanks!

Average service, staff seemed uninterested. Food not great, 2 small pieces of hard avocado and chips were all scrappy ends with a few stray sweet potato fries and batter from other food. Over all disappointing

Felt like I had to put a review on, because I was really impressed. The food was very nice and appropriately priced (I had a smash burger for 16.95 which was worth it). The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place caters for kids with books and a few toys to play with in a corner. Accessible for disabled and baby change. The only thing I would improve about the place is the slightly questionable decor but it's a minor footnote in a lovely experience.

A lovely cafe/bar/restaurant with very friendly, polite jolly staff. 4 of us ate and we all had different foods that came very quickly and all the food was well presented and tasted amazing 👏 🤩 A lovely chilled atmosphere with a lot of really vintage picture on the walls that I remember family members having in the 70s. This was recommended by our local friends we had come to visit and went with them and we all enjoyed 😉

Great place with atmosphere (a smidge noisy if I'm being really picky) food was excellent and delivered quickly, staff very helpful and polite. Clan was out and about in this area and stopped here for food. Vegetarian and vegan options were amazing so the orders began. The service was wonderful. We were seen to our table and the one child with us was given a kids menu that they could draw and colour in to keep them entertained. It was pretty busy so I expected some delays in the food yet it arrived quickly. The food was amazing. In fact it was so good I ordered more and that arrived just as promptly. The lady servicing us was so helpful and would advise on food and drinks. Desserts were lovely too and everyone left with full bellies as there was something for everyone and all due credit to the kitchen team, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area again. Enjoy.

Popped in for a snack/brunch both of us had sausage cobs and tea, both hit the spot beautifully. Not much room to eat in but we were lucky. While we were eating there was a steady stream of mostly locals and we saw a diverse selection of things chosen. I feel its always a good sign when the locals clearly go in regularly. Large choice of delicious looking food freshly cooked. Shame we don't live nearer or id be a regular too.

We had our works Christmas do here up in the cocktail bar. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much and they accommodated our needs. The place was decorated lovely and the space was perfect. Bar was well stocked and the night was perfect thanks to the Distillery team

Very tasty cocktails and great music choice. Lovely building and a nice atmosphere. Good value. Only giving 3 stars as I nearly didn’t get let in by the bouncers (never had this problem before)

Located in Matlock, just 20 miles from Buxton, The Vault at The Heights of Abraham offers a unique alpine-style cable car experience. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic food and warm ambience with excellent customer service. Whether it's the braised beef on the festive menu or a simple coffee and bacon cob, guests are sure to have a delightful dining experience. With its modern decor and friendly staff, The Vault is definitely worth a visit for those in the area.
Went out for the day in Buxton. A local person recommended The Vault stating how good their meals were. I had Braised Beef with mash and vegetables. Excellent tasty meal. My husband had Pie of the day with amazing chips and vegetables. Excellent. Definitely recommend. We will go again. Also the table service was excellent. A good all rounder.

Went in yesterday with my wife, we both had the pulled pork cheese burger. I am gluten free so they pointed out couldn't guarantee the chips not 100% gluten free. I was happy with that and appreciated the honesty. Got to say both meals were fantastic, also the young lady who dealt with us was brilliant. Sorry didn't get her name but partner in the place. Also have to comment great choice of music playing, I would recommend this place all day long!

Absolutely amazing, lovely rooms! Great for an overnight stay. No problems whatsoever as we had what we needed. Just be aware though, it’s just the basics , so no hair dryer or iron which we were aware of, but one resident didn’t read her email and thought her room would be fully equipped! These rooms are above the pub, but ear plugs are provided upon entering your room. Staff at The Vault Pub were lovely, but they are nothing to do with the rooms. Only a 5minute walk to the town centre (which is a big bonus). Will definitely be staying here again when we visit Buxton

Fantastic pub, great food and kind staff. We arrived close to kitchen closing time but the staff were super welcoming and had no problems with us arriving a little later than the usual dinner service. Food was excellent and portions were generous. Overall a great experience.

Very modern, clean accommodation and would highly recommend for a mid week stay. However, we stayed on Saturday night and didn't get any sleep. It does warn when booking about the bar below staying open until 3am, but it makes no mention of the boy racers on motorbikes and car's with massive exhausts, zooming past until 4am at least!

But further up into the main high street of Buxton town centre. Felt a little like it hadn't been kept on top of since opening, clean but could be cleaner. Chandeliers were nice but needed the one over, sticky table tops. It feels upcycled, which isn't a bad thing. Had a couple of cocktails which were OK. Syrups an no skills kind of cocktails but priced as if they were made properly. Not bad staff were very friendly.

Great place for a family lunch. The food was fab. My Vault Special burger was well tasty. All the staff were very friendly and made all of our family, which ranged from Great Grandma to great grand child who is 3 months old, very, very welcome.

Nestled within the picturesque Kedleston Hall estate, The Kedleston Country House offers a delightful escape just ten minutes from Derby's bustling center. This charming boutique hotel features five elegantly designed rooms that promise an intimate and cozy stay. Guests can indulge in a culinary experience crafted by head chef Adam Keeling, who elevates breakfast with a selection of continental delights and freshly prepared hot dishes, all complemented by a glass of champagne.
I booked this lovely venue for a baby shower and it did not disappoint! Sally was a great help and support during the booking process, answering all my questions and even accommodating a visit prior to the event. She was so helpful and polite! I wanted to do a half and half with the menu and Sally made sure with the chef that this would be possible, which it was! On the day, I was greeted by the lovely Cristy who went above and beyond to accommodate the event! I booked the Orangery and it was such a gorgeous room for the event with plenty of space! All the staff were lovely, but Cristy kept checking with me to make sure everything was okay which was so helpful and helped take away the stress from me! The food was great and all the guests enjoyed it due to the wide variety on offer. I would definitely recommend based on my experience with Sally & Cristy when booking and the venue being so beautiful!

We were booked in for an engagement afternoon tea. The car park is small so definitely get there early to park! The table looked lovely and there had been a wedding the evening before so they had used flowers and decorations from the wedding (picture attached). When we arrived there wasn’t a clear person to go to so we gathered in the foyer and I went and got someone to show us to our seats. It was £30.95 per adult with unlimited tea and coffee, but again we had 3 people who didn’t drink tea/coffee and who spend £5 per coke/cold drink at the bar and had to ask for water. We did feel we had to ask for more tea and coffee at times and felt once sat with food, that we were left to our own devices. The afternoon tea itself was okay - the scotch eggs had a LOT of meat around them and lacked breadcrumbs, the sausage rolls had a lot of meat but lack pastry and were a bit oily. The menu states scones and they came and were lovely, but all scones had sultanas in and we had 3 people in our party that didn’t like fruit scones. The quiche was sun-dried tomato (which we didn’t know either) and no other options. There were 10 adults and we were surprised we didn’t have a variety of scones. As well as this, you can phone up and state allergies, but it said a selection of cakes and we had carrot cake with pistachios on top, lemon cake with lemon and poppy seed and brownie. They were lovely but some of us didn’t like some of the cake. Toilets were very clean, we did have to move out after a couple of hours as they had to set the tables up for the evening meals but there wasn’t anywhere else for us to go apart from outside - there is a snug but not enough seats for 10 adults and 2 children. It was a glorious day of 25 degrees and nowhere to sit undercover. It would have been good to have some umbrellas. Overall we would give it 3 stars and after a family conversation, we said we wouldn’t go back and it was ‘nice’. We haven’t gushed about it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had our wedding at The Kedleston Country House on 4th October 2025 and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The venue itself is so elegant and beautifully maintained, creating the most stunning backdrop for our day. Everything ran so smoothly, and a huge thank you goes to Helen, who was simply amazing — so organised, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the whole process. The tapas menu was incredible; our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was! We had so many compliments on both the food and the overall atmosphere. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that combines elegance, excellent service, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe, I couldn’t recommend The Kedleston Country House more highly!

This is a lovely family-run hotel just ten minutes from Derby city centre. Didn't have dinner but it was quite possibly the best hotel breakfast I've ever had! Friendly service and spacious rooms - good value for money. Oh and the shower pressure was fabulous. We were staying on a bank holiday weekend but it felt very quiet. There's a couple of small things they could do to elevate the property further, e.g. investing more in the toiletries, better cushions for the lounge areas, updating the cocktail menu. But I'm quite sure I'm being a fussy Londoner! Looked like a good spot for an intimate wedding.

Wow Wow what a beautiful friendly atmosphere and The Kedleston country House is absolutely beautiful. My daughter just got married here last weekend (if you are thinking of a marriage venue) the staff are amazingly tentative to all needs (amazing staff honestly) the food was out of this world especially the Beef Wellington all the food was hot when service was brought out and all the food was absolutely bloody amazing (chef Jimmy 🙏) The rooms are fantastic lovely and cosy and very fitting for this period building and very very clean. I would just like to say again a very big thank you to all the staff involved during my daughter's wedding (Rachel) and such a beautiful lovely venue. The breakfasts are the best in the world such fantastic staff and as you can tell I'm rambling but Kedleston Country House is absolutely beautiful for a wedding venue or a quiet country setting stay, Well done "The Kedleston Country House.

Restaurant Review Visited here for Friday lunch yesterday after being tempted by the small plates advertised and having seen them served to a wedding couple when we went for Sunday lunch previously we thought it worth a try. We arrived to be presented with a very limited menu, there were only 3 small plates because one wasn’t available. We ordered all 3 to try, the smoked salmon and prawn cocktail had clearly been sat under a heat lamp for some time and the smoked salmon was so tough I couldn’t cut through it. The halloumi fries were average and didn’t arrive with the salad advertised on the menu, the baked Camembert was fine (not hard to bake some cheese!) but they didn’t add the honey and the bread had also sat under the heat lamp so was dried out before it even got to us. My partner ordered the sausage and mash, the gravy was clearly bisto with some Guinness thrown into it and the mash tasted like packet mash with dried parsley. The plates were also dirty, it felt a lot like they simply couldn’t be bothered. From what I’ve read on here The Kedleston do events well, I would avoid it as a normal patron, they clearly weren’t serving the dishes they had advertised on socials. I can only assume the chef they enthuse about was off yesterday, otherwise it was an embarrassment to be associated with the food served.

BEAR Iron Gate is a popular spot in the Cathedral Quarter, offering high-quality food and drink. Their Funday Brunch on weekends is a great deal, including any item from their brunch menu and three drinks of your choice. The menu is adaptable and inclusive, with many vegan-friendly options. The smashed avocado toast is a favorite among vegan dishes. Visitors praise the beautiful presentation of dishes like French toast and the excellent quality of coffee.
I had an amazing experience here today thanks to the male barista who made my coffee. Not only did the coffee taste fantastic, perfectly balanced and smooth, but the latte art was absolutely beautiful! A true work of art. You can really tell he takes pride in his craft and cares about delivering quality. Friendly, professional, and talented! Definitely made my visit extra special!

Went out with friends lunchtime on a weekend. We had reserved place so had no difficulty. We didn’t realise we had to pay at the till and the food is then brought to the table. The person who sat us could have informed us as its our first time here. Cant complaint about food. It is very nice. Has a good selection of vegetarian options. Staff and service could have bit friendlier which would made the whole dining experience better.

We have frequented Bear a number of times and had 2 poor experiences at Bear Derbion as opposed to Bear on Iron where we can not fault. Our latest experience at Bear Derbion was today when we decided to have lunch here. We waited to be seated as the sign instructs, but staff came and went by us without as much as eye contact. It took us to go to the bar area to ask if we can be seated only to get the reply "site where you want" we sat on a table recently vacated and started to look through the menu. Again, staff walked past knowing we had just sat there, but no attempt was made to clear the previous customer's dishes and wipe the table. I eventually had to ask staff to do this who came and removed the dishes but never returned to clear the crumbs and surplus food off the table. When the same member of staff returned with our drinks, we asked if the table could be wiped. She then returned with a cloth and wiped the table in a way that meant the crumbs all fell into our laps !!!.. my sparkling water never turned up so I asked staff where this was only to be told I have to get it myself from the fridge "which no one told us when we ordered" (plus we had to ask for a glass) Onto the food orders, I wanted to order flatbreads with chicken shawarma, but when we went to order at the bar,we were told there was no chicken which is disappointing to here when you have spent 15 mins looking at the menu, why didn't they tell you this when you are seated? My alternative was the Turkish eggs which says is 2 "rich yolk" eggs, the eggs I received resembled hard boiled eggs and the food was luke warm so no doubt had been sitting about for a while. My wife ordered the brioche chilli and cheese with Fries. The fries didn't turn up with the order, and we had to ask for these. They were promptly brought to us, but we're luke warm, so again, they they must have been hanging around for a while. All in all, the food was substandard, and the customer experience was very poor and unsatisfactory. I would consider alternative meal options when visiting Derbion in the future.

I had hot chocolate from here. It was not as hot as I would like but I like the foam on top and the marshmallows. Not the richest or most indulgent hot chocolate but good enough. A bit pricey.

This morning the person serving the tables hardly spoke at all, they didn't smile or make eye contact whilst putting my food on the table, they just looked unamused. The staff on the till couldn't be more helpful and were really nice and welcoming. Surely if you're serving tables, it's important to make the customers feel welcome not make them feel like they're a bother?! The food as always was outstanding and I love all the bear restaurants but I didn't leave a tip because of the person serving the tables today, sorry.
Bethan N — Google review
Such a shame. Really nice place with friendly helpful staff, but... Two out of our three dishes should've come with garlic mayo, and didn't The cheese smash burger just isn't nice. The burger bun was moist. The burger sauce is too intense and tangy. Asked for tap water. The water only comes in small brown bottles which don't look appealing, and the water was warm and slimy. Chicken taco tapas tasted the same as hospital disinfectant smells.

Was shopping on Mon 20/10/25 in Derbion and was going to be having dinner at Carluccios next door. As it was 5:30pm we wanted a drink beforehand. Went into BEAR and walked to the bar/till area to order a cocktail and a beer. The lady behind the counter barely acknowledged me and then I asked to get a drink and was met with a huff and disappointment saying she’d already cleaned everything down. Yet there was still 30 mins until they were due to close. She made us feel very unwanted, I assured her that we would drink quickly but her attitude made us walk away. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

Great restaurant with Breakfast, brunch or lunch. Full bar if you want a drink. Pork gnocchi is best on the menu and had a wonderful time eating this delicious dish. Avocado on toast was devoured by another member at our table - vegan friendly. For after 1 pm, this place was full with more arriving. Why not, the food is fab. Step down from entrance to dining room. Take out meals - yes. Two unisex restrooms - very nice for this time of day - they care for the patrons needs, and the taste of the food.

The food is lovely. A variety of different quiches and soups. However, the two public facing staff members either need to be replaced or need training on customer service. They are low level awful. The Chinese woman is aggressive when she serves food. No eye contact or smile. She needs to polish up on her politeness as she is very selective. And the other female staff member is no better. Very rough. Their service is slow despite it not being busy at all. When it comes to 1.30pm they are rushing you out despite it closing at 2pm.

Lovely visit to this cafe near the railway station. The staff were so friendly. The soup and sandwich deal was such good value at £7.00 for a huge bowl of gorgeous soup and 2 thick cheese sandwiches. I then had the cake and hot drink deal. The matcha cake was one of the best cakes I've had in ages! So moist and delicious. I was only visiting Sheffield. If I was a local, I would be a regular here.

Edit: Fusion Cafe has REOPENED! New hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 - 2pm. So happy to be able to eat organic food and drink organic drinks again in Sheffield. This will lure me into town again 😁 Original review: This is a great Cafe that is part of a social enterprise. Lovely Organic coffee! I love that the food they use follows Biodynamic food principles....."Biodynamic agriculture is a form of alternative agriculture very similar to organic farming, but it includes various esoteric concepts drawn from the ideas of Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925)"........."The main difference between organic and biodynamic is that biodynamic farming uses different principles that add vitality to the plant, soil and/or livestock, whereas traditional farming typically deteriorates the soil." We are so lucky to have this Cafe providing high quality grown food in Sheffield!

Second time to visit this little gem. Welcoming and fresh with lovely clean toilets. Lovely to see the baked goodies available & the menu items looked delicious. First visit a lovely Americano with hot milk, generous touch the little cookie served with it. Hard to choose a cake, but decided on the white chocolate & hazelnut blondie which was outstanding! Second visit Americano coffee and the new menu item banana pancakes with fresh fruit, peanut butter, maple syrup and chocolate chips! Generous portion, GF and insanely scrumptious! Humbly suggest the cookies served with coffee are made available to purchase! Looking forwards to returning again as so many delicious dishes to try!

Lovely visit to RASK in Derby. I was looking for a brunch spot after a yoga class and found this place which had lots of lovely healthy options, and cake if I wanted something less healthy 😉 I had the homemade beans on toast, which I usually don’t find enjoyable, but they were delicious. Very accommodating of my dietary needs, as I can eat milk, and was very pleasantly surprised to see a mushroom coffee on the menu! I love a shoorm coffee, and it tasted delicious. Great service and lovely venue.

Been a few times now and it's always right on the button: great food, great service. As I have mobility issues myself, I love that it's wheelchair accessible and not as an afterthought. For lunch, I had a fantastic quiche, light as air but creamy and cheesy and filling. The accompanying potato salad and coleslaw were perfect dish buddies. For afters I had freshly-baked lemon meringue cake which I practically inhaled, it was sooo good. Even now, I'm drooling, remembering it. So many cafes are let down by poor pastries/cakes (usually bought in bulk and plasticky), that's not Rask. If you want fresh food made by people who obviously care about the quality of food deeply, Rask is the place for you.

Went here for an afternoon snack and ordered black coffee, cappuccino cake and corn fritters. Cappuccino cake was absolutely delightful, perfect combination with a coffee. Not too sweet, very moist and delicious sponge. Cream had a subtle taste of coffee not overpowering. Then I ordered corn fritters that come with bacon, poached eggs and avocado. Eggs were perfect consistency, slightly runny on the inside just how I like it. Avocado was very nicely seasoned with lemon (I think as it had a a bit of acidity to it), salt and chilli flakes. Bacon was nicely done too, crispy but not dry. Never tried corn fritters before but these were really nice and overall combination tasted great. Coffee was nice too and staff were very nice and friendly and brought everything promptly. Definitely recommend! Lovely atmosphere, staff and food.

A favourite that I've been coming back to for several years now. Real gem of a cafe and worth every penny! Flavourful dishes, with a great selection of vegetarian/vegan mains and hot drinks. I love the scrambled tofu, sourdough toast and cacao hot chocolate. Can get very busy over the weekend, so it is advisable to arrive a little earlier to beat the lunchtime rush.

There was plenty of free street parking nearby. I was greeted with really friendly staff. The food was pretty good. They even got the vegan scramble right too. The portion size is less than I expected for the full size and the price. I had little change from £20 for breakfast and a cuppa.

DELICIOUS vegan and veggie breakfasts, and gorgeous drinks! We sat outside at the cutest little table, and even though it was super busy the service was amazing and quick! Special mentions: homemade vegan sausage and tempeh bacon 🤤

The coffee is very good, buns and cakes are delicious and savory options are tasty. The place is 'chilled' and cosy, They offer small meals, such as loaded sourdough toast (butter, jam, eggs, avocado etc), soup and all day english breakfast. The cafe is small and therefore often full. Also, the service is slow.

It is always a pleasure to drop by at this coffee shop! Today was particularly nice, I received an excellent service, and I decided that after multiple visits and purchases it's time to give back a little bit to this gem of Crookes. I usually order Cappuccino and it's always delicious, never extremely hot like Costa or Starbucks, but nice and smooth to drink. The baristas are smiley and kind, and always make a good impression. Happy to be their regular customer!

Stumbled across this place on our day out in Buxton, omg it was amazing!!! The food here is fantastic, me and my partner loved it. Great menu and great prices too!! Would definitely recommend, 10/10 ❤️✨️

Had a wonderful experience here on a Saturday afternoon. We hadn’t intended to visit Noonology - the other cafe we had planned on visiting had closed earlier than we realised. We had the whole place to ourselves which was great with us having two hungry children with us! Loads of vegetarian choices (healthy ones too!) which we just don’t seem to find anywhere else. The children had the burger and chips. I had the Halloumi bowl which was super delicious! We thought the food was priced well and we thought it was helpful to have tap water available and a well-stocked toilet. Staff were helpful, patient and chatty. It’s not often I will visit the same place twice as we find service and food pretty poor around Derbyshire but we are glad to say that we will return and encourage others to do so.

One of the best full English I’ve had in a while! Everything is properly cooked, the egg is perfect, sausages and bacon are delicious, generous beans and toast, all for under £11! And absolutely incredible waffle with berries and ice cream, strongly recommended Had to wait a bit for it but it was so worth it, delicious! Breakfasts are served all day, special offers for senior citizens

Great breakfast this morning. Really enjoyed it. You are advised to book as it can get busy.

Reasonable veggie breakfast (despite charred tomatoe) and very nice dirty chai. Let down by using store-bought waffles rather than cooking their own -- despite not ordered. I find it a Major insult towards paying customers for a simple-to-cook item and a real shame, because this could be one of the best breakfast spots near Buxton. Big turnoff, and would not visit again unless rectified. Cosy premises at a former Chakra Lounge.

We took a small trip to Buxton last Wednesday and Thursday and enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning, Full English, scrambled eggs, and French toast. We really loved it, and the price was very reasonable. The customer service was great, and the chef, a young lady with a smiling face, made the experience even nicer. We visited again today and enjoyed some nice drinks. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit, and will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend!

Breakfast restaurant
Crossroads Cafe is a beloved spot that has been serving up traditional English dishes and Sunday lunches for decades. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a family kitchen, where visitors are welcomed with warmth and appreciation. The cafe offers honest, satisfying food at great value, with staff who take pride in their cooking. While the parking area is small, the colorful wooden picnic-style benches outside provide a charming spot for al fresco dining when the weather permits.
didn't take cash today, I had a card, but it wasn't a problem for the Angel I saw today, it's delicious here and in English , greetings to you Dear

This was my 1st visit to dine in at Crossroads Cafe .It does have a very small parking area outside the premises & limited roadside space aswell.Theres around 8 colourful wooden picnic style benches outside for when the weather allows outside dining, includes a framed structure possibly used to hold some kind of undercover canopy .Inside this popular Cafe,it was very busy with a good majority of the tables already being occupied. My works party of 5 did manage to find a good size table which we found are fix bolted to the floor& too much of a squeeze for all of us so I found another small table for myself. Theres a good menu choice & Orders are placed at the counter, where payments were taken by cash,( as Card option wasn't available during my visit due to server problems). The staff service was very welcoming & pleasant .I could see that everyone on duty was very busy.,You return to your table with any drinks & your meal is then brought out to the table .I really enjoyed my roast beef xmas dinner & thought it was good value for the money, alot nicer than i expected. The only problem I found was the lack of face mask coverings not being worn by customers entering the building, nobody using the hand sanitiser on the wall near the door during these troubled times of covid .When a bit of queue started forming into the middle of the room from the counter.I felt it was very disrespectful for those sat down eating when folk are stood close by .Just give some thought to those around you &wear a mask until your sat down or have left the building .don't spoil the occasion for others,.show some common sense please.

Filippelli's Bistro & Bar offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a charming and amiable owner. Visitors can expect a delightful time and enjoy the delicious cuisine on offer. The homemade garlic peppers are particularly remarkable and highly recommended for those in the area. Whether going for breakfast or any other meal, one can anticipate delectable dishes that are freshly cooked and served hot. The menu provides an excellent variety of food options along with a good selection of beverages.
Called in this morning after work for breakfast after being recommended by a work mate. Possibly the best breakfast in Derbyshire not just for price or amount of food but for the overall quality of the ingredients used. I will be eating at Filipplli's once again. Fantastic friendly staff a warm and welcoming atmosphere from walking into leaving.

Had breakfast on Christmas Eve. Made a booking via Facebook...venue was more than happy to respond All staff were very attentive, always asking if we were ok and if more water for tea was needed etc. The offer of festive treats after our meal was always very much appreciated...even if too full to even consider!! Opted for the £9.99 standard breakfast with refill of tea or coffee - fantastic value. Very well presented, warm and very tasty - the offer to swap any of the items was also very much appreciated. Good quality sausage used and hash browns were great - would have liked scrambled eggs but I'm sure I would have been able to have this if I would have asked. Good atmosphere all customers seemed to be enjoying themselves and the hospitality offered. Would definitely recommend. Thank you very much Filippellis

The Christmas party at Belong bar was an unforgettable event. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a fantastic night. We made a reservation for a group of 13 people and opted for the bottomless brunch, which exceeded our expectations in terms of both food and drinks. The cuisine was incredibly delicious, with generous portions of starters that impressed us greatly. The pizzas were freshly made, and the addition of mince pie treats gave it a delightful touch.
“we only popped in for one drink”…. then stayed the whole night!! Lovely sophisticated bar with lovely staff and a awesome relaxed atmosphere. The owner is really chilled yet super attentive and was working hard with his staff, the singer was great and kept the place entertained. Had some tapas - awesome! Had some cocktails - awesome! Made some memories !!!!!

Fantastic food and drink. I’ve never really had wine as an option before at bottomless brunch, but really enjoyed it. Lola was a great server, we had so much fun. Sometimes I find that there is not enough food in bottomless brunch, but for Beyond, they did a side and a pizza included! Lovely.

Food was beautiful but we didn’t get our food until our brunch was nearly finished so by that point hardly anyone was hungry as we was full up on cocktails Not sure what quite went wrong at the start as we left 40 mins with just one drink and hadn’t been asked about food But the manager quickly realised we wasn’t overly happy and he stepped in and took over our table and gave us some shots and an extra half an hour longer Once he took over our table we had a fab time! The drinks was coming at a good rate and the service he provided was fantastic I would definitely come back

We would whole heartedly recommend Belong. We hired the upstairs venue for a birthday party, we added in flatbreads and fries. The chefs were fantastic, so accommodating and friendly and very talented. The food was superb. They were also happy to pop our cake in the fridge and bring it out with plates when we were ready for it. Just a wonderful experience to create a memorable night. A big thank you from all of us.

I had the most amazing hen do at Belong Bar! Greg and the team were incredible, so attentive and friendly throughout. The tapas and cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the communication when booking the private party was seamless. Couldn’t recommend them enough! Thanks so much for making it a special night.

We hired the whole venue on a Sunday for a surprise 70th birthday, and it couldn’t have gone better! The owner Gregg was super helpful, the staff were friendly, attentive, and really added to the relaxed, fun vibe of the day. I can’t thank them all enough! The food was delicious, and the drinks were great too with plenty of choice. Service was smooth from start to finish, and having the entire space to ourselves made it feel extra special. Would definitely recommend for any celebration!

The food was absolutely delicious. The flatbreads are definitely worth going for. We attended for a bottomless brunch. The cocktails had not much alcohol in them if any they were very disappointing… we then switched to red wine, the first glass was tasty but they then gave us one that tasted like vinegar so we didn’t bother staying for the full 90minutes . Would not recommend going for the bottomless brunch, there are better places that do a bottomless brunch and have actual alcohol in the cocktails 😅

Nestled in the lively Friar Gate area, The Mixing House stands out as one of Derby's trendiest bars, boasting a vibrant atmosphere and eye-catching selfie walls that are perfect for capturing memorable moments. With an impressive selection of glamorous cocktails paired with delicious tapas-style dishes, it’s a haven for foodies and cocktail enthusiasts alike. For those seeking a more relaxed vibe, the rooftop terrace offers a charming escape where you can sip your drink while enjoying the fresh air.
Came for bottomless brunch with a friend! The service was ONIT refilling and very attentive! Food was lovely! Was £35 per head but we had all the drinks twice in a 90mins seating! Fries and halloumi was extra!
Sammi S — Google review
The worst bottomless brunch we have ever experienced unfortunately. Went as a group of 8 for anniversary celebration / work do. A colleague booked this and explained that it was mine and my wife's anniversary, she was told that they would do something special for us as a surprise, but nothing came of this. When arrived we were not greeted, when noticed we were given a table and not explained how the brunch worked until we asked. The food was poor, 2 meals had to be sent back and 2 of us did not finish our meals. The drinks were even poorer, 2 types of cocktail were undrinkable and had to be left. I would say that the server was a nice woman and did nothing wrong, and the manager did not argue with our complaints and gave us £80 discount between the 8 of us. Ultimately the service did not align with what was expected based on previous reviews, and some improvements must be made.

Went for a brunch with two friends and really enjoyed . The staff seated us straight away and was continuously bringing us out drinks , once the bought out a drink they would ask on the spot what you would next like. Good selection of drinks , food was pretty good , music was a variety and all classics , the bar itself was quiet but was nice as that meant better service than other places rushing around and not giving the time of day. Asthetics were cute too, I would go back for the price and vibe. 😊 Side note- our server Jess was lovely and couldn’t help enough , she even took a picture of us all because she could see us struggling 😂

Really interesting environment. Great place to hangout! The cocktail waitress was very talented and kind. The roof top is nice and has heating lamps. Great mix of both girly drinks and strong rum and whiskey drinks. I was recommended by a local to check the place out and I'm glad I was. I had a great time!

Brilliant place. Decided to take the Mrs here for food as it was a place that served sharing plates. Surprised the ribs were a full rack rather then a few. The loaded fries were huge, we probably ordered too much. Staff were brilliant. And the cocktails were amazing, great variety and something for everyone. One grumble, ribs were over cooked, but the staff asked when taking the food away if there was a problem. The fact that want to learn and put things right for the future is impressive. Brilliant. We will be back

2 4 £12 cocktails. They cocktails were good for the price and lots of places to take pictures in and around the venue. We had to order at the bar, no table service. Not very busy for a Friday evening.
B W — Google review
I’m gonna be harsh and give this place 3/5 star for a few reasons. I booked a table via telephone, and when I asked if we could have a table on the terrace, they said there was no need to ask as they would put us there automatically. When we got there, the waiter informed us all tables upstairs were full and we had to sit downstairs for the time being. We were there for at least 1.5 hours before we ourselves went up to check and found a place. The food is a little overpriced for the portion sizes/quality, but the drinks are lovely. Good live music, however it is extremely loud and I found it difficult to converse with anyone (in the end I was getting a headache; another reason we wanted to be on the terrace!). The interior and the terrace are lovely, and we did enjoy the last part of the night. I would give this place another chance; hopefully next time will be better!

It is wonderful to witness the reopening of Derby Road Deli after its renovation. The delectable hot roast trays, one containing pork and the other chicken, were promptly prepared for collection in just 15 minutes. The portions were generous, and the flavors were exceptional, prompting a desire to reorder from this establishment. The service provided was excellent and friendly. Additionally, two breakfast trays and a selection of cakes were ordered and proved to be delicious.
Just had my 1st experience of Derby Road Deli and it won't be my last!!! Bread cob piled with hot roast chicken, roasties, stuffing, cranberry sauce and smothered in gravy!!! Absolutely delish!!!!

Lovely food. Staff didn't appear happy - no talking, heads down, no pleasantries and hand put out by girl on till saying £x. I will possibly go again, but not make a special trip. Maybe it was the end of lunchtime service, but both staff members were not at all customer focused. Shame because the food was really nice.

Finally a sandwich shop that takes hygiene seriously, gloves are worn, no handling of money with the gloves on, they appear to change them regularly, its so refreshing and reassuring. The staff are super friendly. They have a great selection of hot & cold food, the homemade scotch eggs are delicious, the cakes are nostalgic and yummy. There is a lovely seating area to sit outside. They make nice hot drinks. They do a killer breakfast. The only tiny bit of feedback for improvement, the jacket potato to filling ratio could be better, there’s never enough, you might be able to pay for extra but you shouldn’t have to. Best sandwich shop/deli in Chesterfield by far.

The Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby is a stylish and sophisticated hotel that offers a range of amenities including a restaurant, breakfast, afternoon tea, and a cocktail bar. It is also known as one of the best wedding venues in Derby, with options for intimate gatherings or extravagant celebrations. The hotel is housed in a Grade II listed building that seamlessly combines historic charm with modern luxury. Originally an old police station, it has been transformed into the first designer boutique hotel in the area.
Located down a side street, almost opposite the cathedral, this hotel sits slightly back but is easy to find with its two standards adorning the entrance. The reception staff are welcoming and simply provided a key and accurate directions to the room. The room was small, being on a corner, but still had sufficient space. The decor was in good condition, with a piece of art work on the wall. Whilst I opted for a “single room”, I was pleased to see a double bed which was comfortable. The windows were sash with limited opening, presumably for safety reasons. However, there was also air-con and, hidden away in the single wardrobe, an electric fan. In addition, there was a hairdryer and iron. The bathroom was sufficiently large, with plentiful hygiene products. The one criticism was the lack of bedside reading lamp. The room lighting was limited to a low floor mounted standard lamp, though this could be relocated into a more favourable position. The breakfast (included) was pleasant and the departure straight forward.

I stayed over one night for work, as I arrived I was greated by two very friendly gentlemen who gave me my key at the front desk. I instantly felt comfortable and welcome. The main lobby was impressive it was like going back in time when this was a prestige hotel. Kept almost all the original decor with marble staircase and pillars. When I entered my room I was a little disappointed my air conditioning didn't work so I had to open the window where I could hear traffic all night. The furniture in there had definitely seen better days as well. The bath room was nice but it was a pain to get the plug in the bath. Also the bathroom door had been punched at some point as well. With a fist sized cracked dent. The bed was comfortable and clean which was a bonus. Breakfast was nice in their lounge. Again beautifully decorated and the food was good. Also the service was fantastic. The staff definitely make this hotel worth it but the rooms have seen better days. It was the only thing that let the hotel down.

Stayed for a night while I had work done on my car nearby. The room was clean and comfy, good level of decor just starting to tire a little. The building is impressive. Cooked breakfast was tasty. The area of Derby the hotel is in is near the Cathedral and a short walk to the big shopping centre. In general the centre of Derby feels a bit run down but certainly the area where the hotel is felt safe. Took a while for staff to show at reception but when they did they were efficient. Feels like maybe new owners getting used to things.

Beautiful historic building. Great location. Very friendly staff. Lovely cooked breakfast (downside; cold drinks/yogurt fridge was filthy with built up sticky residue) My partner and I stayed in the suite. Very clean apart from the washable mattress protector had SO many stains on which we found upon stripping the bed on exit. Bed was SO comfy and we had a great sleep though. The hot water system in the bathtub was ridiculous. We couldn't figure out the water system for love nor money ! We could've done with some more towels. We stayed overnight and would definitely give it a 9.5/10.

What an excellently run hotel in the heart of historic Derby. Five Star service from the entire staff throughout our 3 day stay, food was excellent, the 2 for £40 Steak meal is fantastic in presentation, taste with the table service impeccable. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such a lovely, clean and historical building. I would highly recommend to anybody to go taste such a wonderfully ran establishment with the best hotel staff we have to date encountered and we have travelled the UK extensively. Thankyou for an unforgettable experience for all the right reasons.

My wife and I booked suite room. The room is tiered. Needs work. Fairly clean however we moved the sofa to be infront of the TV and found a Cork ball and a cotton bud (luckily unused). There was hairs in the bath and it had a light dusting on its surface. The bed was nice and clean and we slept well. The bath is amazing. It's really deep and has lights which change colours (we easily pleased lol). Overall not a bad place but clearly needs some money investing to bring it up to date. We wouldn't stay here again for the money we paid. £95 per night.
David D — Google review
I was disappointed by my stay here. The rooms and linen were not cleaned to an acceptable level. There were blood stains on the towels in my room, and similarly my colleague found blood stains on the bed linen. One room smelled strongly of smoke, they were helpful and let my colleague move rooms. In general there was a lot of things that needed fixing - my door handle was falling off, there were water stains on the ceiling, tiles were coming off in the bathroom. When I checked in the staff were friendly, but there was nobody on reception in the morning to check us out.

Horsley Lodge is a charming country hotel and wedding venue located in a picturesque Derbyshire valley. Originally built in 1863, this manor has been lovingly restored and offers plush rooms with beautiful views of the Peak District foothills. The venue features a championship golf course, gardens, and a restaurant where guests can enjoy delicious meals.
I visited The Farmhouse Kitchen restaurant in Horsley Lodge on September 30th for the first time for my 21st birthday meal with my parents and we all highly enjoyed it, it had a warm, welcoming, calm atmosphere and looked so beautiful, well kept, modern and clean, it was very peaceful when we visited which made me feel so comfortable as I can find going out to eat quite nerve-wracking but I had such a lovely, positive experience. We were served swiftly by a very kind, friendly young lady and we received our food and drinks within reasonable time, the food was fantastic, great quality and we had very generous portions that were well worth the money. We spent about a good hour there as I was opening some gifts and not once did we feel rushed out, we were simply left after our meal was cleared up to go and pay whenever we were ready which we appreciated as we really got to enjoy the time we spent there. We will definitely be returning in the future as it's such a wonderful restaurant and I'm so pleased that I chose to come here to celebrate my 21st 😊

Unfortunately a really poor Sunday dinner and untrained staff. Ordered 3 Sunday lunches. 3 very small portions arrived. There was 1 piece of carrot and piece of parsnip. The beef was ok but small portion. The roast potatoes were hilarious. I’m it joking when I say you could hammer nails in with them. When we made the staff aware they looked pretty blank and said they would tell the chef. Despite the staff visiting the table many more times for dessert and coffee not 1 word was said over the complaint for the terrible lunch. Simply don’t bother

We travelled up from Portsmouth to meet friends and we paid for an overnight stay for us all. Very helpful staff. We asked if we could check in early and the lady on reception advised she would ask the housekeeping staff to prepare the rooms for our early arrival. We arrived shortly after 1pm, had a very efficient check in and given the keys for our rooms. We paid extra for rooms overlooking the golf course and rolling hills. The views were beautiful. We spent the afternoon at a local vineyard and returned to Horsley Lodge for drinks on the terrace before making our way inside the restaurant to order food. The food was lovely. A huge menu and something for everyone. We would definitely recommend visiting for a bite to eat. We returned to the restaurant this morning for breakfast which was included with our overnight stay. The breakfast was also lovely and we’d highly recommend. Now, the overnight stay. Sadly we cannot recommend staying at Horsley Lodge. Although the rooms were a good size, had lovely bathrooms and complementary shampoo and body wash, that’s all that was good. The headboard in our room was in two sections screwed to the wall but it was very wonky! It did not affect its purpose but did not look great aesthetically. The chandelier was covered in cobwebs. It’s not even as if you couldn’t reach to clean it. The mirror was not in front of the dressing table. It was on the same wall but too high to use to do hair and makeup. The noises are what ruined our overnight stay. The plumbing noises throughout the night sounded like there was someone with a chainsaw outside our room. We’re assuming it was the plumbing anyway. We did eventually get to sleep but we were awoken at 7am to construction work. We had constant banging below our room. It wasn’t even quiet, it was LOUD!! (See videos!) Now when you pay £144 for a room you do not expect this! We understand maintenance needs to be carried out but guests should be advised of this prior to booking! We were looking forward to a relaxing night away to escape day to day life and early starts. Our friends were looking forward to a child free big night away and their last night away before they welcome their baby any time now.

Had a terrible experience for my baby shower afternoon tea in October, vegetarians food wasn't separated, savoury bits missed off the afternoon tea and hot water spilled behind my chair and not cleaned up. As a good will gesture we were offered to return free of charge which was a nice gesture, however the food was not up to standard - the bread was dry, cakes rock solid and again no savoury items that were offered on the original menu. When discussed with who I assume was a manager was told truthfully we dont serve the afternoon tea anymore but that doesn't change the awful experience. We also felt extremely rushed, the bar was closed while we sat there as a wedding party had started to arrive and looking at us to leave. Unfortunately I would not return and would not recommend to anyone which is a shame for such a beautiful venue.

We came for sunday lunch. It was fabulous. One thing might improve it. Not everyone has huge appetites and I for one hate waste. I asked for a small portion, which I got, thank you. May I suggest an addition to the menu? Have two sizes of dinners and the child size. This surely will reduce waste and give an option to those with smaller appetites. The Boot Inn, located in Repton, is a beautifully restored 17th-century coaching inn offering nine stylish and airy rooms and suites. The property features a traditional pub bar, a modern restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes, an onsite micro-brewery, and bakery. The establishment has received Beer and Stay Awards from the Good Pub Guide for its high-quality accommodations. With friendly staff and delicious food, it's a popular choice for fine dining or Sunday lunches.
My partner and I have just returned from our visit to The Boot in Repton. We were absolutely blown away by this place. We booked a superior room which included breakfast at a price point which is ridiculously cheap for what you receive! The room was spacious, very clean and incredibly equipped (high end toiletries, a proper kettle, coffee maker etc…). The bed was huge and very comfortable great nights sleep. The food was outstanding! We booked a table that evening and had the roast beef. The following morning we had a full English. Great quality produce cooked really well. The staff were fantastic. Especially Will who checked us in and was very hospitable (couldn’t do enough for us). We had a few drinks in the bar that evening and witnessed the great rapport he has with some of the locals/families which was great to see. The venue is situated centrally and close to St Wystan Church which is also the location of an old Saxon Abbey of which the old Saxon crypt can still be accessed via the church and is well worth a visit. The history buff in me cannot wait to return to explore more and I look forward to my next stay at The Boot.

The Boot is half walk to meet my mom, and we’ll 100% be back. Fabulous location just off the A38, and plenty of parking. The food was sublime and a wine list to generously accompany the dishes. A running theme with all my reviews is that I like a nice wine list and the Boot offers exactly that. The food was so fresh and full of flavour, beautifully presented. A real Gastro Pub that welcomes dogs which is important for us as a family of dog owners, who enjoy the finer things. Thank you to the wonderful Heidi who look after us, you made mom’s birthday experience thorough enjoyable. We’ll be back!

This place was nothing but lovely. it was a bit loud from the bar which you could hear throughout top. If I’m being completely honest I was there for business so not the greatest sleep but if there for leisure and your tipsy already it’s a 5-star. The staff are lovely and good portions are nice. Lots of drinking space to drink, and the rooms are really really nice.

Gorgeous pub, beautiful room and stunning food! Stayed overnight after a day in the Peaks - found the pub by chance and so glad I did. There is a lovely terrace that is a sun trap to enjoy drinks. Our room, a suite at the top of the building, was beautiful - a small sitting area, a lovely bed, gorgeous decor and air conditioned! We had dinner and breakfast whilst staying and the food, especially dinner was INCREDIBLE! it's all about the CRISPY NEW POTATOES! 🥰🎉 Lauren who looked after us during our stay and for both meals is amazing - super attentive, helpful and genuinely lovely. We cannot wait to return, even though it's hours away from home. Highly recommend a visit for a meal and a place to stay over.

A lovely and relaxing stay at the Boot Inn! We celebrated a 65th birthday and stayed the night. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, lovely beer garden with sun all day, and the food was amazing, so yummy and well presented! I had lovely refreshing soda and fresh limes all evening, but treated myself to a gorgeous cocktail that the staff recommended! Thanks for a truly special evening! 🤩🤩🤩

Outstanding meal here last night - such simple ingredients (such as cabbage and cauliflower) turned into seriously tasty dishes. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed the food that we were served. Service was also excellent - great attention to detail. We'll definitely be returning.

We visited the Boot Inn for a Sunday roast. The food was all very tasty and nicely presented but the portions of meat were all disappointingly small. For the prices charged, it did feel like profit margin was all important. Fortunately this wasn't the case with the desserts which were all delicious.

Me and my friend went for a carvery, and it was lovely. Our hostess Beverley was so friendly and attentive. Had a good conversation with her while paying off. Our food was cut by Kyle from the kitchen, the meat was beautiful. And our plate ups were delicious! Would definitely recommend dronfield Toby carvery over any other.

carvery was mid. potatoes weren't even cooked and were raw, stuffing was burnt, mac and cheese had no cheese. had cookie dough sundae for dessert and was disappointed that it wasn't whippy ice cream like shown online. went to go to the toilet and ive never seen anything like it, i couldn't even use the toilet because of how bad they were. the entire place was also dirty, i get its a sunday so it's busy and it isn't the staffs fault, they were lovely and constantly busy. seems like maybe they're understaffed or need a cleaner. i won't come back

We r regularly visit here for a carvery. No complain about the food.. Staff are friendly.. But the main big problem is that there are only 3 Disable parking bays. N the rest of the car park is about 50. We have been booked twice n there's nowhere to park, then we had to leave.. Please make at least 10 Disable parking bays..

I recently had my first experience at Toby Carvery Restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere. Amy, our server, was incredibly helpful as she guided us through the menu, making the experience even better. I decided to try the Roast meal deal, which featured Gammon, roast pork, roast beef, and roast lamb. Each bite was heavenly, and I genuinely felt full and satisfied afterward. I appreciated how Amy checked in on us to see if we needed anything else, her attentiveness truly made us feel valued. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone craving a comforting roast meal, it’s a delightful experience!

"The Red Lion" is a charming inn with elegant rooms, a restaurant, bar, and its own brewery. The menu offers a variety of dishes at reasonable prices, different from typical pub fare. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is run by a friendly young family who also manages the microbrewery on-site. Holly Cottage, part of the property, combines period charm with contemporary design and sits in a picturesque location near Hagworthingham village.
The Red Lion, Matlock - A Roaring Success A Perfect Sunday Roast Getaway! Our recent stay at The Red Lion in Matlock exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. We enjoyed co-owner Lee’s dry scene of humour. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing escape on our anniversary. Our room was clean and comfortable. The Sunday roast carvery, wow! The restaurant was fully booked so an advance booking is recommended. The selection of meats was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, with a fantastic selection of roasted vegetables and light, fluffy Yorkshire puddings. It was, without a doubt, one of the best carvery lunches we’ve had for a long time. The location of The Red Lion is also a huge plus. Matlock itself is a beautiful town with plenty to explore, and the pub's central location makes it an ideal base for discovering the surrounding area. We had a day out at nearby Bakewell, and another day we enjoyed a walk to Lumsdale Falls. Overall, our stay at The Red Lion was exceptional. The combination of friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, and a truly outstanding Sunday roast carvery, the on-site micro brewery (my favourite was the Giddy Edge IPA), makes this a must-visit. I wholeheartedly recommend The Red Lion to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway in Matlock. We can't wait to return!

We were told today from a young lady they had no room inside but if we wanted to take a table outside we could have Sunday roast. So we brought a drink. Then to be told by other women they didn't have no dinners left. Left frustrated as we wouldn't of brought a drink if we knew this in the first place. The young lady apologised, the other women behind the bar looked stressed. We came a long way so it's not nice to be told by one person to take a seat for Sunday lunch then told up on hearing outside other locals received a Sunday roast. I guess being local give you special treatment. Sorry - just the impression we got. The communication could have been better! X

As far as pubs go, it was you'd expect. Food is what you'd want after a few drinks, prices are reasonable. The best part about this pub is the service. Couldn't do enough for me and my work party. Sam was especially helpful and attentive, thank you.

Came across place this place whilst looking for a decent menu for gluten free. And honestly I was not disappointed. From the get go the staff couldn't have been more helpful. First the gluten free menu is one of the best I have seen in a long time, everything from burgers, steaks to chicken, there was starters and even desserts. Once I explained I was both gluten free and dairy free and ordered my food, my starter had some dairy on it the server came to speak to me and altered it to suit my dietary needs. Honestly this is the best place and I will definitely be back.

Now then pal......rolled back the years today with a trip to the oasthouse to see how it's changed over the years and for a spot of lunch! I'll be honest with ya pal the tables and chairs have definitely seen better days and especially where we were seated. The chair I sat in was stained to high heaven and looked like whoever had last frequented it had followed through but luckily it was dry to touch and just badly stained! My knife had what looked like the remnants of someone's Brussel sprout on the end of it but luckily when my food arrived it came with a clean steak knife 🔪 The food and service was lovely and spot on though but it was extremely cold in the place like they are trying to save on heating? 🔥 It was also extremely quiet. Before we left I nipped to spend a penny and wow.......the toilets were in better nick than the restaurant! Surely you refurb the restaurant first before the toilets........not this place pal!

The Loaf bakery in Derbyshire offers a wide variety of breads, cakes, pies and pastries. All of the products are made from scratch without any added preservatives. The bakery is popular with locals and tourists alike for its unique offerings.
I visited The Loaf on Saturday 21st January. We had seen reviews online and had been looking forward to visiting for breakfast/brunch. On arrival unfortunately no tables were available so we elected to wait inside for seating to become vacant. There is a seat in the corner of the shop adjacent to the counter that you can use as you wait and the friendly shop assistant asked us would we like a drink as we wait, we took her up on the offer and noticing that only one cheddar and stout sourdough loaf was left on the shelf asked would it be possible for them to remove it from sale and hold it behind the counter until we had eaten and was leaving? Once again the assistant was happy to help. Fortunately we did not have to wait long (approximately 5 minutes) for a table to become vacant. The menu had numerous delicious sounding dishes available and between the three of us we elected to have the rarebit and poached egg, avocado and grilled halloumi and creamy garlic mushrooms all of which were served on toasted sourdough. The food was delicious and all of us enjoyed what we had ordered, the quality of the tea and coffee was also fantastic and the service was excellent throughout. In addition to the bread, pastries and cakes the bakery also has some fantastic looking preserves and other deli items for sale. I would definitely recommend visiting this establishment if you are in the area. Thank you for our delicious brunch and see you next time we are in the area.

I took part in the half day sourdough course and it was exceptional. Keith knew everything there was to know about the bread making process. He made it informational, relaxed and fun. I ended up with two incredible loaves of sourdough as well as some Chelsea buns. Lots of snacks and drinks throughout the course was an additional bonus. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their baking. Thanks Keith and the entire Loaf team, you've got something really special here!

Called on a Monday afternoon. Disappointing unfortunately. It's not really a cafe. It's a bakery with plastic, pink and purple chairs and tables outside (not very clean - we saw no cleaning between customers at all)on a very busy road. I don't remember seeing any indoor seating. Coffee is in cardboard cups and food was served in cardboard boxes. 'Cakes' were all traybakes or that type and £4 a piece. As I suffer with dysphagia (due to extensive radiotherapy not just fussy!) we asked if it was possible to have some pouring cream so that I would be able to swallow it but that was just a flat 'no'. Staff didn't appear terribly happy 😕 But it has 5 stars for food and hygiene and seemed popular so if you're after a takeaway (and don't have any eating problems) it is quite adequate (hopefully the staff were just having an off day🤷🏻‍♀️)

Visited Bridge bakehouse for the 1st time after trying some of their goodies at one of their wholesale. Wow the counter selection was incredible, so much variety. I went for their deal of 4 itens for £15.00 and selected a churro cookie that was really nice, the snickers brownie that was packed with flavour (the only thing that I would point is that personally I would prefer the top chocolate layer was more soft rather than hard chocolate, but still very yummy), the caramel and pistachio blondie was really nice (they completely nail the blondie fudginess that I love) and a biscoff slice that was really good as well. We didn't try the pastries or cakes so I can't comment on that. But their cookies, brownies and blondies are outstanding and always really good. Everytime we drive to this area we buy some goodies at the local places they supply as wholesale. If you are in the area, definitely try it out

Nice little area to sit outside too. Would definitely recommend and they told us we could order online for home delivery which is definitely worth considering 😊👍🏼

Such a fantastic bakery and breakfast place! I had avocado on toast with eggs. They had avocado on toast with bacon and an egg listed, but when I asked to switch the bacon for another egg (as I’m vegetarian) they did this without question. Serving portions were big, got four slices of toast with avocado and two eggs and a huge portion of rocket salad on the side. I also ordered some of their brownies to take home and the giant jammy dodger and Dubai brownie were absolutely amazing.

Great staff, excellent food and fantastic prices! Super friendly and the food is delicious, can't go wrong eating here. Only downside is the wait for food, which took around a half hour or more. A lot of people order out, which probably ties up the kitchen. There is parking available, but i just parked at M&S.

Absolutely fantastic food here. Really good portion sizes and very very tasty. Really good prices also.

Popped into this little gem whilst away on holiday for a few days and we were suitably impressed. Very good prices, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The portions are surprisingly big considering the low prices. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

This little gem is a hub of British culture and a pillar to the local community. The food is perfect, the vibe is welcoming and friendly and the service is second to none. One of the best caf’ experiences I’ve ever had and I honestly can’t recommend it enough! Have by been, I can’t help but coming most weeks! 😅

This is what you call a one to one service. Your preference is taking into consideration. Everything you wanted is delivered on your plate. Service with a smile and passionately made for each and every customer. Wishing this establishment all the best. Best prices ever - won't get this anywhere else. Thank you for breakfasts and coffees. The owner is so kind and attentive to all his customers and their families. Very lovely to see.

MADE @ No 18 is a charming and cozy cafe that offers a delightful dining experience. The Full Derbyshire Breakfast, made with locally sourced high-quality ingredients, is highly recommended for its satisfying and filling nature. The efficient service and warm, friendly staff add to the inviting atmosphere of the cafe. While it can get busy, especially during peak hours, the delicious menu offerings like Garlic & Thyme Open Toasted Sourdough and Homemade Quiche of the Day make it worth the visit.
Perfect English Breakfast! This cafe serves the best English breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy, and the sausages were packed with flavor. The baked beans were rich and satisfying, and the buttery toast tied everything together. Also the omelette was very nice, it was with mushrooms, tomatoes and onion, you can choose the side either toast or salad. Every bite was delicious—highly recommended!

We usually love this place - one of our favourite little cafes however we haven’t been in a while and it was a bit disappointing this time. The young boy serving didn’t write a single thing down when we ordered and as a consequence, our food arrived wrong and we had to send back. In addition, eggs Benedict were advertised on the menu as having hollandaise on the side and they had put it all over my food. The poached eggs were overcooked and the sausages overcooked too. Usually I recommend this cafe to everyone, but it was just disappointing this morning :( Hoping this is a one off and they dropped the ball today - will return in the hope that it’s better next time as Made@no18 has never disappointed before.

I can't fault this place, it's a gem for such a small town. The food is always tasty, fresh, quick, different and the service is top notch too especially at the prices. It's all home made and the cakes are lovely- try the courgette cake it's gorgeous. Highly recommended

Bustling lovely cafe at the quieter end of Alfretons main street. Friendly staff and gorgeous food, even some vegan and gluten free choices on offer. All-day breakfasts looked divine. There's even a lovely outdoor area at the rear. Also licensed if you fancy a beer or prosecco with your cake. Definitely returning. M

I was at Made for a private event and the location, staff and atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. It's such a lovely space, and it was ideal for the occasion. My only issue was that it's not fully disabled accessible, and as a mobility aid user it was took some navigating! But I was given time and space to do this.

Really pleasant little cafe, caters for recent vegetarians (such as myself!), had a full breakfast and hardly noticed there was no meat. Friendly staff, nice decor, reasonable prices.

Really nice relaxing place to meet up and eat. Food is a bit on the expensive side, but generally worth the money. Staff are friendly and efficient. MUCH nicer place now with new staff and management than it was under the other. Would definitely recommend.😀

As a regular customer, I’ve often recommended this café and even brought friends along. However, my experience on October 4th was very disappointing. In the middle of breakfast, I was asked to move tables to accommodate someone else — with no attempt to resolve the situation or offer any form of compensation. I found this to be a very poor level of customer service. On top of that, we waited over 25 minutes for our food, and the waitress had to come back several times to confirm our order. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the place. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be advising those I’ve recommended it to to do the same.
