I came in during the day with a group of 8 that included an infant. I approached the bartender and let him know about my party. He told me that we "could just share some tables or something and that they don't high chairs " I wasn't surprised about the high chair given the kind of place it is, but I was surprised at his "figure it out yourself"attitude. However, there was an older man seated at the bar with friends. He politely informed the bartender that he could get a tall high chair from another place, and return it after. He then instructed some employees to join two tables together and move seats accordingly. He completely changed the outcome of our whole experience by just making a couple simple gestures that showed he cared that we enjoyed our day. This meant a lot to us as these were visitors from out of town and their first time experiencing something like the Float Bar and it's amazing setup and views. Thank you to that man. I'll be back with my grown up friends and try out that pool.

I did not eat here but we had drinks and a great time. Bartenders were awesome and we definitely will be going back.

Came to the float for a birthday celebration! And had laisha as our server and absolutely loved her! Super on top of everything and was handling everything super well! Will definitely be coming back! Great food great drinks!

Came here for my first time today, and it was great! Free to come and hang by the pool. If you occupied a table, you do have to order food or drinks. The prices are very reasonable... especially if you're used to paying 6 n 7 bucks for a happy hour drink in the city. We will definitely be back... #goodtimes

We had an absolutely amazing, beautiful, ray of sunshine bartender named Ansley. She’s amazing at listening to the needs of customers and setting an ambience that’s perfect for float. Me and Reagan loved her service and beautiful personality.

I come to Galveston every summer and decided to stop in here for the first time. It was a super fun environment, the music was really good. I did not partake in the pool activities but I would’ve had I not spent the whole day at the beach worn out. The food was pretty good, I got chips and salsa, & the shrimp tacos. They weren’t super flavorful but they weren’t bad either. The salsa and chips were 10/10 and very affordable! They had rules posted everywhere but did not seem to be following through with them. We brought our kids in but had people next to use smoking weed and people bringing their big pit bulls inside. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s kid friendly at all. Our waitress on the other hand was horrible.. she didn’t tend to us whatsoever. Unless you’re buying drinks the whole time, I got the vibes that they do not care at that point. We weren’t given any refills and our server wasn’t friendly at all. I would come back though if I didn’t have kids with me!

We sat outside after being told a waitress would come by—waited over 15 minutes and no one showed up. I finally went inside to the bar to place an order, only to be told someone would “be sent to our table.” When the waitress finally came, she insisted on taking a credit card before placing the order, even though I clearly stated we were paying in cash. Apparently, they just “needed one on file.” Strange, but whatever. Food eventually came out… except for my meal. My guest got theirs, and I sat there waiting another 30 minutes with no updates. The waitress never once came back to check on us, ask if we needed anything, or even acknowledge that my food never arrived. When I finally went back to the bar to close out, I discovered the waitress had already run our card—and worse, she gave it to the wrong table. A total stranger signed and tipped on my card, even though I had already told her multiple times we were paying with cash. They voided the charge, but at that point I had zero confidence my information was safe. Now I get to go through the hassle of ordering a new card thanks to their incompetence. To top it off, when I mentioned I never received my sandwich, no one offered to make it. The manager (or whoever was in charge) stood right there and couldn’t care less about what had happened. Complete chaos, zero accountability, and no customer care whatsoever. I will never come back here, and I’d strongly recommend others save themselves the headache, sucks when you're actually the local too!

Loved everything about The Spot! Stopped in while visiting Galveston and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was fun and lively with awesome beach views. The food was delicious everything came out fresh and flavorful! Ordered baja tacos and jumbo fish platter! The staff was friendly and the service was quick, even though they were busy. Perfect place to relax, eat, and enjoy the island vibe from the roof top area! Definitely coming back next time I’m in Galveston!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most wonderful experience at The Spot for our ladies luncheon during the Regatta! Ryan, the general manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. He was so helpful and accommodating every step of the way. Our waitress, Krimson, was amazing—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. Billy Ray was also a huge help, keeping our tables cleaned up and making sure we had everything we needed. The entire staff was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend for any special event—or just a great day out!

Been a few years since visiting Galveston. When a friend heard we were going, he recommended that we eat here. So glad he did. Loved the food and location with view of Gulf. The food was excellent. I tried the shrimp sandwich and the shrimp was plentiful and was so tasty, I had to force myself to eat the whole thing. They were that good. Will be my go to place next time. Wife was I total agreement.

What a great Spot! We just happened to be walking by while enjoying the seawall and decided to pop in for some drinks and snacks and it totally hit the spot! Great cocktails and a lovely view of the Gulf and Pleasure Pier. We also ordered the sampler of their appetizers and it was so much food we had to ask for a to go box. Super yummy shrimp and OMG the cheese sticks!! Loved are very attentive waiter and oh course the atmosphere.

This place was hopping. My son got a smash burger that was really good and my daughter got the kid sliders. I got the seafood platter and it was an overkill of fried everything. The fish tacos my wife got were pretty good. We sat next to the window overlooking the beach. It was loud and chaotic. But fun.

We had an amazing beachy day enjoying the Gulf view, delicious mojitos, and tasty calamari with the hot honey sauce... This is definitely a SPOT you wanna visit while I'm Galveston.

Everything was great! Sat upstairs which had a nice breeze. The food was good. I do wish the fries would have been hotter but I still enjoyed them. The smash burger had great flavor! I will definitely be back!

We met friends at the Poop Deck. Not much can be wrong with a second floor bar area overlooking the beach and Pleasure Pier where you can get your favorite beverages. My only negative comment would be related to drink cost being too high, but that will keep you from overindulgence... BTW, don't come here thinking it's fancy!

March 2022 visit. Absolutely best stop in my 3500 mile trip. Staff was amazing. Mandie was the best bartender ever! People friendly. Atmosphere and view can't be beat. Can't wait to visit again!

Perfect dive bar! Love to sit up on the deck, have a couple of beers and just people watch on the Seawall. It's amazing what you see looking down at the drivers and passengers! Always fun! Sending some local love...

I just went in to get a fruity drink. I was happy to see a girl only for her to be standoffish and walk away at the end of our conversation? They girl let me know they they’re a dive bar and carry the “basics” whatever that is. I ask her what are the basics and she stood there with her mouth open. I won’t be back for sure.

Not sure if this is Molly's or Old Cellar. The same place? This is a nice little bar, it's New Year's Eve and there are almost no people here. My partner and I can't figure this out. Good place, one star deducted because no whipped cream on the Irish coffee.

Guy working the bar was nice. But the place has a bad smell to it of mildew and mold. The drink coaster even had mold on it. Not great!

Over 4th of July weekend, I was in town with a GM for Hilton. We were meeting the GM for a group of restaurants in the area to discuss ways to bring more patrons and nightlife to the area. On Sunday the 3rd , We were walking the Strand and decided this place would be a great place for the meeting because it had a small number of patrons and was quiet. The long stringy haired bartender was so completely rude to us that we just had one beer and moved our meeting elsewhere. I have never encountered a bartender this rude and I’ve been in the business quite some time.

This venue has a warm and comfortable feel to it right in the historic downtown portion of Galveston, with inviting staff and prompt and courteous service. The customer experience was great and we enjoyed connecting with friends from the local area. They DO allow smoking in doors so be aware of this if you have allergies or are generally sensitive to such things. Navigating through the bar itself can be tricky as there are some very narrow areas and the restrooms are in dire need of deep cleaning and repair.

If the other more popular bars are full I come here. Even if they're not, I still come here. Probably the friendliest pub in the Strand district. Excellent beer selection and decent liquor selection. The bar is split in two and I recommend going to the one on the left when you're looking at it from outside. The one on the right seems a bit musty and it gets to you after a while. The one on the left not so much. I still love the hell out of this place.

This is a two sided bar. One side is the cellar door - the other is Molly's. Both are great bars. Pool table, darts and a chill vibe. Bartenders are sweet and on point. Go see Mike, Danny, Tater and Will. They will treat you right.

Bhji absolutely made our experience at this pub. We will definitely be back just because of him. First off the pub is just sooo cool. There is sooo much to look at. He introduced me to a new way to drink my dirty Shirley & he made my 3 daughters the real Shirley temple drinks the way she had them. Which I never knew & I grew up drinking them in WI! He let us go in the bottom part of the pub and showed us the water line from hurricane Ike in 2008 which was just mind blowing to see how high the water was. 10000/10 recommend this place and have a conversation with Bhji!

We had a fabulous time with the fill in bartender on St. Paddy's Day. She got pretty busy but handled it like a boss!!!

Awesome place. Great atmosphere and excellent service! Not only did Grace keep our drinks full, she was back in the kitchen making our food too! Super friendly and made us feel like we were family. She even made trips out to the pool table to check on us and refill our drinks. If I could I would rate my experience 6 stars! Looking forward to coming back very soon!

Murphy's is a cool little hole in the wall. Very relaxed setting. And Amanda, the bartender there, is great. She makes incredible drinks and is fun to chat with.

Went in this pub alone on holiday, and was greeted like an old friend, the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble even when they are busy. I will definitely be returning to this pub when I next holiday in Galveston.

The dude running the bar here was super cool. That said, it is not a place for grub. We heard the microwave go off a few times. If you've had some drinks and need something to chow on, then go ahead - that's what it's for. $9.50 for a microwaved sandwich, so if you're up for that, cool. For an Irish establishment, there was not very much the Irish feel, but then, this is Galveston, TX, so also, if you're up for that, cool. Still, the guy was awesome and he was friendly enough for me to say I would drink there again after having a lot of drinks at home because at that point I would not care where I was or how expensive the microwaved sandwich was.

Great local dive bar. Smoking is permitted inside so do not complain about. Drink specials every day with Karaoke on Thursdays. Prices are nearly half that of beach front places. Pool table available. Bartenders provide excellent service. Minimal food options.

O'Malley's was fun! I was here in the earlier part of the evening for happy hour. Got me a local Tiki Wheat Draft Beer and a cold shot of Fireball 🔥 They allow smoking inside, lots of pool tables, tvs, and a cozy bar! I enjoyed listening to the music and listening to some of the other patrons talk! I'll def have to come back and experience the night life for sure! The bartender was super cool 😎 and very knowledgeable in beers and alcohol! I didnt order any food, but it looks like they serve some emergency grub for late night fun! 😜

Everytime I visit Galveston this is a place I always stop at. The bartender at this particular visit was really cool and attentive. The bar was dead but my significant other and I still had a good time. The history behind this building is very interesting. Check out the Galveston strand ghost tour.

A true beer and a shot dirt bar but clean and friendly- if youre cool. Order a shiner and buy a stranger a shot of jame-o. Play some pool and darts. Play a show tune, some classic punk, classic funk, and some old school country (back when it didn't suck old). A great quiet drink.

I had the reuben sandwich, it was mediocre. Most reuben sandwiches I've had were stuffed well with sauerkraut and meat, their sandwich was lacking. The dark rye bread overpowered the taste.

Smoked Old Fashioned, best cocktail I ever had. Choose cherry wood. $12. Y'all got to try one! Way more smoke when it first gets served. Picture doesn't do its presentation justice. Such a nice, sweet n smoky infusion that wasn't overbearing, but balanced perfectly with the fresh orange peel, dark cherry, bitters, and whiskey. Nice large, slow-melting single ice cube. Awesome service, cool regulars, chill atmosphere. Can't beat being on the beach!👌

Beautiful atmosphere as well as the views. Staff is very friendly. Loud music, cold beer and beautiful sunset. What else could you need. Heineken 0.0 was nowhere to be found, but hopefully soon it will be on thanks for the love

Great views, great bartender, and just a great spot!

Ok for a place to hang out in an open-air place to hang out and enjoy adult beverages. Seemed more like a treehouse than a bar. But, it drew a decent crowd of bikers during the rally for being several miles away from the main action. We wanted to ride a little away from the masses, so it filled the bill. Kudos to their parking attendants, they really controlled the lot. There was no food served by Woodys, but there was a food truck there. I think they should've offered a few portapotties the mens room was often overwhelmed. I heard many of the ladies comment upon seeing the long line of men waiting for the restroom. Most said the world is upside down here.

An absolutely great experience and a wonderful place to stop by whenever I am in the Galveston Islands probably my favorite bar to come to. It’s really nice and relaxing and has the best view.

Cool bar right by the water with lots of shaded bike parking. Decently priced beers for the location, you're not paying nightclub prices. Small inside area by the bar but the overly spacious deck is what Woody's is all about. Live daytime music during the warmer months with spectacular views of the waves and sunset. Relax, unwind, and put yourself in a flip-flop state of mind. (just remember there's no food served here)

Was recommended this place(I live in Houston) was told about the amazing cocktails, so decided to come try them. & I am amazed by the creativity & knowledge of both bartenders present(Gilbert, Britney) will definitely come back soon! Or when I’m in Galveston !

Super cute bar! The bar menu is fantastic, there are so many options and they are all amazing. The espresso martini was great. This is the Zombie. It’s a sweet/sour drink that comes on fire! After about 15 seconds the fire can be put out and stirred into the drink. But there were so many different options and they really weren’t too expensive at all, the drinks were anywhere from $8-$22, most of them being $10-$12. It’s a great place to wait If you are waiting to get a seat in pineapple parlor, but a great bar in general just to hang out at. Highly recommend!!

We go here quite often. The bar tenders are great. They make all their own syrups and everything is fresh. You don't get Walmart drink mix with bottom shelf liquor like some of the "Cocktail" bars we have been to in Houston. This is the sister bar to Pineapple Palace which is a speak easy located by walking through DTO and going out back to the slide door. Both places serve the best and are well worth making a trip for.

Excellent and fun cocktails. With their giant pink booths, it’s great place for a large group. Friendly bartenders and reasonably priced drinks! Pineapple Parlor was at capacity …next time!

Don’t step foot on the island (Galvatraz) without parking yourself at DTO. “Expertly crafted libations” is their claim to fame. Go with the classic for a less than too sweet option. And DON’T be afraid of the Hemingway. Tori walked us thru the options. My wife is 7th generation Texan and she celebrated Tori’s Wisconsin(ess). Texas (& DTO) Forever!!

Drinks were top notch. I highly recommend the mezcal carajillo! Brad is always a welcome sight in the bar and brings the smiles. Definitely worth a stop when you're on the island. Not to mention comfy chairs and booths

Went here with a friend a few weeks back with a long time friend. They have a really good selection of hand crafted drinks, friendly service, and loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back again soon!

Small dive bar this is . Drinks flow and the staff is friendly. The jukebox is loud with a great selection, one pool table and a few sweepstakes machines (call them cheap slots ) great place to meet the locals and have cheap shots and cold beers. A must stop.

As a rule my boyfriend and I prefer hole in the wall local bars to corporate. However we started tonight at a corporate bar and took the bar's manager up on his recommendation when his bar closed earlier than advertised. No regrets. Val. Is an amazing bartender. The drinks are well made and the crowd of regulars made us feel like we were at our own home bar. Will be returning. No questions.

It's a 5 star dive bar!! Pool, karaoke, great people, cheap drinks, and a pool table. Val is a wonderful bartender, nothing but compliments for her.

A good neighborhood bar with friendly bartenders. I love their logo. I asked about it and realized it is taken from the old Falstaff logo. Saturdays are customer appreciation day. Show up wearing one of their shirts and your second drink is free.

After the renovations it is now a bar with a balcony that looks to the east. Large indoor bar on the top floor with a small balcony with 6 tables. No more beautiful sunset drinks unless you get the one seat with a view around the corner. Service was great, drinks were good. But view has been cut to a 1/4 of what it use to be. They put a roof over the rooftop bar.

Great vibes and atmosphere. Garret is an amazing bartender/server with good recommendations. Burgers were a bit dry but crab cake and the charcuterie board was amazing!

Can’t speak about the food, but the bar is beautiful and the espresso martini is delicious! We sat in the downstairs area in the hotel lobby, it’s very peaceful and great for one on one conversation. We tried many drinks, they all had just the right amount of liquor but still enough for it to feel like a drink. I can’t remember the last time I had a cocktail and didn’t wince at the strength until I got a drink here

We went to the Rooftop Bar for some drinks around sunset. Both the drinks and the service were good, and even in mid summer, the breeze made it quite comfortable to sit outside. There isn't very much outdoor seating, so I'd you want to sit outside, it's probably best to get a reservation. We didn't order any food, but the menu did look promising. I heard the view isn't what it uses to be following renovations, but it still was a nice place to spend the evening. The service was really good and the seating was very comfortable.

They sat us down and had us waiting for 20 minutes. Several waiters came nearby but they refused to serve our table. After the long wait we decided to leave. I pointed out to the hostess that we didn’t get a waiter and she said sorry but didn’t do anything about the situation . Overall I would have given them a 0/5 but it’s not possible. Nice view though. Pity it turned out to be so bad

The waiter was super friendly but it took forever to get a drink. Also, the renovations have ruined the experience. Hardly any outdoor area to enjoy. It is basically like being in any other bar.

Came in here for the first time the other day. Seriously had my mind blown . The service Amanda provided was excellent . She was quick, had great recommendations , explained the menu super thoroughly and never made us feel like an inconvenience .10/10 will come back just to see her .

Absolutely the best place to eat breakfast on the island! During tourist season, it can get pretty hectic. But they do a great job at managing that. Their baked goods are fresh and filling. Highly recommend their egg plates.

We were in Galveston and saw this on Google, had good reviews and decided tontey it. well reviews weren't wrong, great place for breakfast/ Brunch! servings are huge and numerous drinks to choose from. If you go, expect a short wait but worth it. Had the big breakfast with 3 eggs,ham steak and pancakes.

I was referred by my coworker and I’m so glad I checked this place out. What a delightful place! You’re gonna have to wait bc that’s just life but it’s worth it. The server was friendly, he made great recommendations and The food was delicious. We got the Waffle & Eggs with a side of potatoes and the Chicken and Waffles. The waffles were amazing, their homemade strawberry butter is out of this world and did i mention the potatoes. Not even remotely sure what they did to them to make them as good as they were. Oo and their strawberry lemonade is made in house and makes a delectable mimosa. And before i left i checked out their bakery side and better believe i left with some. Wont disappoint, go check it out.

Wasn’t expecting to be thoroughly impressed with this bakery.The food was delicious. The pancakes and waffles were fluffy and made just right. I customized my omelette with chicken, spinach, cheese, and tomatoes. The bacon was crispy and the potatoes were tasty. I like my potatoes made with a little crisp and softness, it was so good. I ordered a hot chai tea with lavender syrup, loved it. The server was helpful in recommending I try the lavender syrup, I think I found a favorite. And I ordered the infamous grilled cinnamon roll to go. You’ve got to try it. It tastes exactly how it sounds. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Eating outside is always a vibe on sunny days. Be sure to check out the bakery for all the delicious goodies they offer.

Love this bakery! What really sets this place apart is how they stick to the old-school way of baking. You can taste the tradition in every bite. It’s refreshing to see a bakery that doesn’t cut corners and still does things the right way. Highly recommend stopping by, you won’t be disappointed. Their Key Lime Pie is hands-down the best I’ve ever had… perfectly tart, creamy, and clearly made with care.

Stopped into this place on a Sunday morning. I had the oyster and Benedict and the wife had the bread pudding French toast. We also had a few coffee latte drinks. The food was amazing. Can't believe I did know about this place and it's 15 minutes from my house. This is a must for now on. The waiter was excellent and the view was very nice with a tropical feel. We out out side and loved it. We will 1000% be back to this place.

Popular breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe. We came upon the cafe by accident which was pretty busy with what appeared to be locals so thought we would give it a go. Glad we did, nothing fancy but the food was plentyful and good quality. Very good service and at a reasonable price. Happilly visit again.

Gaido's was very interesting to me. I was blown away truly. It was a visual treasure from the ceiling fans too the photos on the walls the bar the furniture it was stepping back in time it was fascinating to me. The food was very good personally the seasoning was diffrent for me. It was my first time but definitely not my last whenever I go to Galveston Gaido's will be on the itinerary for sure. The service was excellent atmosphere i liken it to stepping back in time if you've ever wanted to know what an establishment looked like and what the food was like I say this is the place for you I was very comfortable there and the staff very diversified. I highly recommend this establishment..

Gaido’s in Galveston is truly a timeless Texas gem. My family dinner there was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and clearly proud of the restaurant’s deep history. Their service struck the perfect balance between professionalism and personal on checking on our comfort with food, taste, needs etc - making the entire evening feel effortlessly special. The food lived up to every bit of the restaurant’s reputation. Each dish came out beautifully plated, and it was evident that quality ingredients and classic technique are at the heart of Gaido’s. Overall, Gaido’s offers an experience that blends history, flavor, and top-notch service in a way few restaurants still can. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out by the sea during your vacation - it’s a Galveston institution that never disappoints.

Impeccable service (thank you, Kam), high-end, classy atmosphere, amazing food. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and SO hot and fresh. I don’t think I’ve ever been served a piece of fish as hot as mine was tonight. Technical perfection in every dish: cook, temperature, plating/presentation absolutely nailed. Menu descriptions are highly accurate and make the choice nearly impossible between dishes. A wonderful experience that I look forward to coming back to.

Great spot in Galveston, TX! Our waitress was Chelsea, and she was fantastic. She knew the menu and was very well informed with various food allergies and what was safe to eat for those, especially with Gluten allergy. She was also just a very friendly person. The peach tea cocktail 🍸 was so good and the stuff shrimp with crab was dynamite! Great experience over all!

We had planned to eat elsewhere for dinner but glad we came across the recommendation to eat at Gaido's on reddit because we would've missed out on the BEST dinner and BEST service with Dwayne. We were sat early for our reservation which is always fantastic. Dwayne was very quick to great our table and let me tell you, this man is knowledgeable about every entree they serve, their operations, what is and isn't available due to what's in season, etc. They bring out bread that is baked in house and it is UNREAL! I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was the best shrimp and grits I believe I've ever had, so amazing! My husband ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and asparagus and we nearly passed out because it was that good. We also got a side order of the shrimp stuffing balls—think hushpuppies stuffed with shrimp. They were fantastic! Creme Brulee for dessert was also great. Portions were perfect, we didn't finish anything. Price was honestly under what we expected and spent less than $90 for 2 entrees, side order of stuffing balls, and dessert. Environment was fantastic and I so much to look at in there! We can't wait to come back and hopefully get Dwayne! Management, if you see this, please let Dwayne know he provided top tier experience and really made our dining experience exceptional.

A must visit! We shared the crab spinach dip which was our favorite part of our meal SO GOOD! And we split the wedge salad which was also so tasty. We liked the blue cheese vinegarette. We split the salmon entree and added 5 shrimp. The shrimp were alright and not really that fresh but I don't think it's season for them. The rice & veggies were great! And the salmon was cooked perfectly and was flaky. Not pictured is the pecan pie dessert a la mode which was also really good. We can't wait to come back and try different entrees. I feel like this is the type of place that has multiple great menu items that you should rotate and try! Will be back! I gave service 4 stars because it did take a good bit of time for each of our courses to come out and my water glass would get low. I think our waitress maybe had too many tables. But luckily we had time. Just hope next time to make it less than 2 hour meal.

Food was great and pleasant. Service was awesome. I went here to have a nice dinner and celebrate my late daughter. We would go here and make great memories. My waiter Darrell was so nice to light a candle in her memory. My evening was joyful.

Great atmosphere, cocktail drinks were like juice 🥴 informed the waiter and placed another order but was the same. (Margarita, Cadillac) Ouster were yummy but was served without crackers so had to ask for it. I was craving for pasta. But was served no bread. So it was like something missing. Garlic bread would be great to add on the pasta. Also had soda, was hoping for a refill but after the main course was served, the waiter never came back until we called for the bill. The white uniforms were looking worn out so the waiters were looking more presentable in darker color. This are just honest observation. Im sure not all servers are the same. A room for improvement. Do not be discourage to dine here. It is still worth the view and food. Will still be my go to place so far in the area.

Having drinks at the bar while waiting for my table, and chatting with the Honduran bartender was the best part of the experience. We were shown from the bar to our table and waited about 5 minutes before the server came to introduce herself. I asked for water for the table then placed an appetizer order. I noticed there was no silverware after we ordered, so I got up and got silverware for my party. When the appetizer arrived the server also walked up and asked if we needed anything. We were missing the sauce, oyster toppings, and lemons for our oysters. I asked again for water, which we never got. We placed the food order and didn’t see the server until after the food arrived because a kitchen runner dropped off the food. At this point, we had no drinks so I got up and ordered drinks at the bar for my party. The server came after we had started to eat our food to check how everything was. Overall, the service was not great. The server was not attentive at all. The fish tacos were good. The sauce, slaw, and aioli are a tasty combination to top off the grilled fish. The oysters were decent. I would have drinks here and eat somewhere else.

We had an excellent experience at Fish Tales in Galveston. The drinks were perfectly made, the appetizers were delicious, and the food was cooked to perfection. Everything had great flavor and was served fresh. We sat on the balcony with a beautiful view of the beach, which made the meal even more enjoyable. What stood out the most was our amazing waiter—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. His service truly made our visit extra special. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Galveston.

Go for the atmosphere, views, and location but don't go for the food or drinks or prices. It's a low quality tourist trap through-and-through. The service was attentive and it was nice sitting outside watching the pier and seawall. But the food - all of it - was mediocre at best and very overpriced. The calamari was bland and chewy, the 'blackened' fish barely seasoned and totally overcooked to the point it was barely edible. The drinks are weak and sickeningly sweet - and we tried 3 separate kinds between us so it wasn't just a fluke. For how bad the food was, you'd think it would be inexpensive...but no. Not even close. 2 stars bc the wait staff were and atmosphere made it tolerable...but barely. I wonder if the owners ever actually eat from the kitchen.

Parking is confusing I was taken to a small table that was next to another table with a big party and I had no room to sit... There was other tables with plenty of room and no people but the host thought I should be crammed in that table and walked of like good luck so I had to sit on the end in the walkway it was very awkward prices seemed high but I did enjoy my food and I was hoping to sit upstairs with a view of pleasure pier or the ocean but I was put in the bk on the 1st floor so make sure u say what you want at the host stand cuz they don't care and will put u in the worst spot

We make a 30 minute drive about once every quarter to visit Shrimp N Stuff. I typically get the Seafood platter and my girlfriend gets the shrimp or fish tacos. Their fried food, other than the fried oysters , are typically fried to perfection. Oysters can be harder to fry.

The girl at the counter was really nice, the food was amazing and the wait wasn't long at all! Glad I stopped by during my vacation trip to Galveston this weekend!

Wonderful seafood place! Here's what I ordered: Shrimp gumbo - decent flavor; lots of shrimp Fried catfish - fried perfectly! The breading was excellent! Boudin balls - very tasty and the breading was also excellent! Overall it was tasty but pricey, I paid $28 for this lunch with a drink. Service with a smile. I will definitely go there again.

I had the catfish tacos. Wow, amazing! So good! The sauce was tasty, great flavor. The tortillas were fresh, tasted homemade. The black bean pico de gallo was a nice touch. I could've eaten 2-3 more they were that good. My wife had the stuffed shrimp, she really enjoyed them. She ordered hush puppies & sweet potato fries. The hush puppies were awesome dipped in the tartar sauce. We also liked the sweet potato fries. The portion sizes were very generous btw. My mother-in-law ordered the crap bites, loved those as well. Cooked just right, very soft. My father-in-law had the coconut shrimp. The coconut flavor was great, loved those. So glad we stopped here, highly recommend. A bit pricey but seafood usually is anywhere.

Outstanding restaurant for special occasions. The service here is well above most other restaurants. The attention to detail is everywhere. The food is fine dining yet the portions are large which is awesome because my wife and I like to eat! All of the food we had was outstanding: avocado salad, empanadas, vuelve a la vida, plantain crusted redfish with scalloped potatoes and vegetables, chocolate delicioso and bread pudding. On the bread pudding: I never thought I would ever find a a bread pudding even close to that of Parrain's in Baton Rouge; this matched it!!

Samantha was our server who did an amazing job of being attentive to any needs without being overbearing. It was my wife’s birthday and the meal was nothing less than phenominal! I had the red snapper and my wife had a meat free pasta dish. I have eaten fish in many countries and cannot say I have had a better prepared fish anywhere. We will go back.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here recently. They start off by bringing plantain chips and two salsas that are deliciously savory. We ordered the crab cake for an appetizer, and it was possibly the best crab cake we've ever eaten. Our main course was the filet mignon which they happily split for us. It was cooked perfectly. Dessert was chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream which was heavenly. They have a nice selection of wines and spirits and the ambiance was subdued and romantic. Our waiter was friendly. If I have one complaint, it was the taste of the iced tea. Overall, this is one of the best meals we've ever had, and we plan to go back for another special occasion.

Oscar was so attentive and kind. He made my birthday celebration so special. The pork chop special on Tuesday is delicious and the cuatro leches cake is amazing. Would definitely recommend this spot for lunch since the dress code is a little more lenient. Smart casual will do the trick.

We came here on our honeymoon- it was a referral from the B&B we stayed at and stayed the night in Galveston before we went on a cruise. It was a great ambiance in there, was nice to dress up (they have a dress code) and the food was great. I got a spicy seafood pasta. They even threw in a complimentary dessert as a congratulations!

Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had dining out in a very long time. Reservations, dress code, no kids, perfect ambience, seamless service, and quality food. We were served their plantain chips with two sauces after sitting down. My husband and I shared two plates, the vuelva a la vida, and the Ojo de Castillo. The calamari, shrimp, crab claws incorporated in the linguini pasta was spot on, with a good spiced heat complimenting the entire dish. The steak was cooked a little more than our medium rare preference, however the taste was great and still manageable to chew. The sourdough bread served is absolutely delicious, perfectly crusted on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was extremely attentive; water glasses never hit the bottom, our silverware was updates based on what we were eating, and very tall man dressed more than the servers approached us for our experience. One of the most wonderful surprises were the synchronized serving done when serving our meals. I felt like I was on a private yacht and it was just the two of us. The interior is tastefully done, the lighting is not offensive, and had we not eaten a larger meal earlier we would have probably enjoyed the crab cake and some cocktails. Such a magical treat on this island. Side note: adhere to the dress code. Most negative reviews are ladies that dress think they look cute in a jumper, but when your knee caps show, it’s a no-go.

Not our first time here so we were excited to get another great meal. This time it was truly disappointing. We ordered two steaks that were very tough and over cooked. The baked potatoes were several days old and brown on the inside. I ordered the stuffed flounder and what an epic fail. The entire meal took over an hour to arrive and the fish was over cooked and burned. The stuffing was flavorless as well and very dry. On the bright side the raw oysters were decent and the boudin ball’s were great. Thank goodness for their French bread so i had something to eat. When we told the waitress the food wasn’t good she smiled and said sorry. A manager never came by and asked about it so that’s why I’m here, maybe they’ll get the hint. I didn’t want a free meal but I paid for something i couldn’t even eat.

Went there to have a good dinner and was completely disappointed. Everything looked good but tasted like it was heated up in the over, no crunch to anything. Boudin balls were mushy, the soft crab was soggy and so was the fried shrimp. Will not go back nor recommend. Explains why it was so empty during our visit. Waitress was nice and attentive.

It’s been awhile since we’ve been here, we were the first customers for the day at 11am. The food is tasty and homemade. I remembered the onion rings being a little tastier but overall still a good meal. The service was acceptable but I had to keep asking for things ie napkins, condiments. They have happy hour on Sundays but just the oysters, dozen for $20. They also have weekly specials Monday-Friday.

We arrived at The Black Pearl just after 11:00 on a Saturday, wanting to beat the lunch rush. It's just as colorful and vibrant as we remembered, although the portions are BIGGER than we remembered. A table was served ahead of us, and I would have thought it was food for 6 people if there hadn't been only two at the table. I mean GIANT portions - shrimp and oysters piles so high in a poorboy that you couldn't see the bread! We decided to share a 'cup' of red beans and rice with sausage and a muffuletta with onion rings, and it was enough food for 4 people. The cup isn't a cup at all - it's a bona fide bowl. And the flavor of those red beans and rice is outta this world - the broth is very rich, with a deep, smoky taste. The muffuletta was packed with meat and almost more cheese than we could eat; a single one of the three segments was very filling. The olive salad on the muffuletta is very good, although we would have liked a bit more, so next time, we'll ask for some on the side. The onion rings were piping hot, sweet and tender on the inside and very crunchy on the outside, just as they should be. The ice-cold locally-brewed draft beer went down well with this meal. We had enough left over for an entire additional meal. I can highly recommend this place and we'll be back the next time we're in Galveston. Oh, and the service was friendly, too.

We drove more than an hour after hearing good things about this place, and it was extremely disappointing. Ordered a dozen baked oysters for $30 and they were spoiled. The shells were large, but the oysters inside were tiny—about the size of my thumb nail—and tasted sour, clearly not fresh or safe to eat. The seafood in the gumbo also had the same sour, spoiled taste. When we brought this to the server’s attention, she took the oysters back and said they threw it away, but didn't take the gumbo. The only solution offered was a dessert to go, which is not acceptable when the issue is food safety. We paid and left without finishing the food. Very disappointed and do not recommend this restaurant.

I hate leaving not so great reviews. We came here hoping to get some delicious oysters. We thought they were charbroiled, but they were not! Opened the box to chewy, almost raw, big chunks of chopped spinach, couldn’t even swallow wet oysters. Called and got a refund. Atleast management was understanding.

Walked in and there was no vibe... I asked the waitress to turn the music on so there was some background music instead of the buzzing of their overhead lights. Too bright in there too. Quality of the restaurant does not match the quality of their beautiful sign out front. Steak was terrible.

Service was great, believed her name was Riley. Food and drinks were disappointing. White pizza- the crust was good but the pizza itself tasted like a cheese quesadilla. The burger needed flavor. The sweet potatoe tater tots were good. The drinks, mojito and dirty monkey, did not taste good and had very little alcohol if any.

We discovered this place on our last visit to Galveston two years ago. My wife and I ordered our own pizzas. I ordered a meaty pizza which I thought was excellent. But, my wife got the Mediterranean which was fantastic. We ordered the large version of that as well as the crab cake appetizer. If you like thin crust pizza, Yaga's makes the best in Texas!

This was the best food I had during my whole trip! The salmon was amazing! The chips + queso, burger, broccoli, and fries were also very good! Inside has a fun, tropical vacation vibe. I highly recommend this restaurant! Yum!

Upon walking in, there is a strange tray of food sitting right by the host stand. I assume it’s a display, but the food looks old and unappetizing and it’s a strange first thing to see. Food overall was mid, but I was very perplexed by the “salad” I was served. Mainly spinach, carrot chunks, and three rings of onion? Glasses stayed empty, no refills. Will not be returning the next time I am in Galveston.

Really delicious ahi tuna! Servers were wonderful and accommodating. Dogs were welcome and the atmosphere was awesome. The drinks were so tasty! We chatted with the neighboring table and had an overall great experience.

This restaurant was amazing!! So many choices to eat here!! I really wanted a virgin bloody mary & the waiter made me one! I asked for a water with a ton of lemons I got that! The hangover burger was delicious!! So much flavor the meat was perfectly seasoned. The tomatoes had fresh taste. Everyone enjoyed their meal! Our service was amazing, the bathrooms were nice, clean & the restaurant was good busy.

My salmon keto pizza was delicious and came out faster than expected. I loved the tangy, perfectly salted dressing on it. My waitress was very sweet and even brought my pup a bowl of water. The patio is perfect if you have a dog—it’s fully enclosed and comfortable

The restaurant and store are both great. The muffuletta’s are the best around. The red beans and rice is the most delicious I’ve ever had. The cannoli was just as they were in Sicily, amazing!

The dessert came out first 🤔 which was unusual. They were out of caprese salad, pasta salad, and the eggplant dish, and belatedly substituted my order for a pita and hummus plate. The pita was fresh and the handmade hummus was good, very garlicy. The shrimp poboy was magnificent. The muriel outside is cool. The bathroom was hard to find and in the back by the kitchen. No AC, and most of the fans were off so it was warm even in September. A fly bothered us throughout our meal.

Historic family-run deli and corner grocery serving up delicious muffulettas and gumbo! Highly recommend the muffuletta and gumbo combo. Ask for extra olive salad in the sandwich and pair the gumbo with Crystal's hot sauce. Sandwich is served nice and hot with fluffy bread. Pickle and pepperonci comes with it which is a nice touch, though I do prefer them crunchier. Gumbo was fantastic and they serve it in a perfect soup/rice/meat ratio. I had the chicken and sausage version, need to go back for the shrimp and crab. Vibe is casual, eccentric and homey - you feel like you're tapping into the pulse of the neighborhood while you're here. Several regulars making chitchat with the servers while ordering. Service is kind, helpful, and full of Southern charm. They gave great recommendations too. There's also some quality spices, olive oils, and other imported (mostly Italian) goods sold here.

Don’t miss Maceo’s! Historic spice shop with a some indoor and outdoor seating. Food is top notch. Scratch made, everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Peach tea was freshly brewed and so flavorful. Lovely experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you get the chance to visit, do it, you will not be disappointed.

Such a nice little local gem! They offer a small variety of good quality ethnic Ingredients, and absolutely delicious food! The service is incredibly nice, the prices are fair, and the muffaletta is just to die for. Try the cannoli too, you won't regret it.

Small place with limited inside seating and some outside seating for nice days. Very helpful friendly staff. The most delicious, fresh, and flavorful muffuletta I’ve ever tasted. We shared a whole one with a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was so unique, it was a different tiny shaped pasta, had olives, feta, tomatoes, and mozzarella pearls with balsamic reduction on top, it was truly incredible. The sandwich was not heavy or greasy. It was filling and light and kept us full a long time. The peach 🍑 tea they have is so crisp and refreshing with a great peach flavor! I wish I’d asked what brand/flavor it was. Definitely coming back!!! Need more peach tea!

The Longboard pool bar is run by the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. That is the pool that abuts it. I was at the hotel for a reunion. There was drinking involved and this is the place we chose to do a fair amount of it. I didn't order any food, per se. Although beer is good food. So just rating the drinks, I am giving it 4 stars just because the first drink I ordered was a mojito and it wasn't particularly well made. Of course I told the bartender that it was, but I lied. I usually don't order frou-frou drinks, and I learned my lesson from the mojito, so from then on it was mostly whiskey. My friends had beer and they seem to have a very good selection. One other slight issue is that eventually I ordered a gin and soda and was served a gin and tonic. I then ordered another gin and soda and got another gin and tonic. I guess that's a reflex. Just trying to avoid quinine induced retinal toxicity. Probably not that big a deal since I wasn't drinking anti-malarial quantities of tonic water. Anyway, nice bar, with a nice view of the ocean and very nice staff. It has a bar you can swim up to, if that's your thing.

I stopped by Longboard Bar and had an awesome experience! Maddy was an exceptional bartender—super friendly, attentive, and made amazing drinks. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Definitely one of the best bartenders I’ve met. Can’t wait to come back!

The place was not busy only two servers on hand. It took for ever to get some service so we hard to help ourselves pretty much. This looks like a place locals hang out, because the bartender knew most of the regular customers and they got the better service. We saw other customers come in and leave waiting after 30 minutes or more getting no one to give them menus or drinks. I would not suggest this place to have a good time, but I must admit the food we ordered was just to dam good! Great food terrible service no atmosphere.

This is a really fun atmosphere and right on the Seawall/beach. Tyler was amazing and crafted some great specialty cocktails with the utmost focus on taste. Highly recommend!

You'd think it'd be cool to be next to beach, it's not when there's a street. When I told the bartender I'd be looking at the menu but not keeping the tab open, when I wasn't even down my dri k they wanted to tab me out. I didn't want to look at the menu after that as I find it unorthodox, I was going to pay for my meal and drink at the end. There was barely anyone there so they rushed me for no reason. Will never go back

A little run down outside and in. Bartender kind of rubbed me the wrong way. We got the chili dogs and the bun was fresh baked I think not a store bun and it was soft, the chili was homemade but very light on the dog so left the whole thing a little dry, the hot dog was a thick style jumbo style. Tater tots were crispy. Hot dogs were huge, could definitely spilt one between two people that aren’t starving.

Last time I went Cindy was the tender & she was so nice & funny, gave a little history about the bar too. Press Box is only a couple blocks from The Strand & the drinks are half the price as the bars there, food...a quarter of those prices. Step off the fancy strand a few blocks, you won't regret it. UPDATE: Google asked me to update my previous review and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. Been here several times since that review. I work three blocks from here so my coworkers and I come here for drinks and eats about once a month. Y'all, just get yourselves here, get off the fancy-shmancy Strand and have some cold beer, tall shots, greasy food, served with a smile, laugh, and good attitude.

We stopped here for lunch. Shared a giant burger and she brought it out on two plates without us having to ask. The bartender even put a dish of pickles and mustard on my husband's plate because I said I didn't like them. The onion rings were yummy as well. 😁 Thank you!

We came here for brunch and were very impressed. There is indoor, patio, and outdoor seating available as well as a bar. The aesthetic is modern beach and is beautiful. As for the food, it did not disappoint. Seafood and southern dishes with a modern twist. I would definitely recommend.

This place was everything I wanted out of a Sunday brunch spot and more. Gorgeous inside and out, great service, friendly staff and everything we ordered was delicious! The Bananza Bliss is the island version of an espresso martini that I didn’t know I needed! So good!!

Literally so delicious!! Sissy and Kevin took very good care of us also. I highly recommend the flounder skillet- it’s a 10! The biscuits and gravy were also very good, we enjoyed its Cajun twist. Cute place to eat and drink while waiting on your cruise.

The best Bloody Mary's We stopped by Sugar & Rye and only tried the Bloody Marys this time, but they were absolutely delicious! The management and bartender were both incredibly attentive and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was great, and it’s clear this place takes pride in both their service and their drinks. We’ll definitely be back soon to try the food. A must-stop spot if you’re in Galveston!

The sweet hostess, Sissy and server Jamie were top notch! The gulf shrimp was fantastic, as was the red beans and rice. My daughter's food was also delicious, from her own words. When returning to Galveston we will definitely visit again! Congrats on a great eatery! I star deduction for food coming out all together and it was a bit loud but it was also busy so we adjusted our expectations during the visit as one must do for great eateries that are delicious.

I can't believe it has taken me so long to try this restaurant out! Celebrated my 50th birthday at this adorable place. The service is great and the food is soooo good! Everything we tried was delicious. We even went back for brunch. The biscuits and gravy are the best I have ever had! We stayed in Sugars Inn, just above the restaurant, it's cute charm was everything! My husband and I can't wait to go back!

Sugar and Rye is everything you want in an eatery. The decor is fabulous the food and service even better. We enjoyed a late lunch with dessert seated inside this beautiful restaurant. We enjoyed fried green tomatoes with a savory cornbread. My sister has the filet tacos, I had a cup of brisket onion soup and then brisket BBQ flatbread, my niece had the Cajun seafood pasta. All were excellent! We finished up with bread pudding, peach cobbler and the Texas sheet cake. Perfect ending. Parking was easy on the street. Please take the time and try this awesome restaurant.

Stopped in and was immediately greeted by Carmen. She was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcomed along with some of the locals that came by. Wish we lived closer so that I could pop in more often, but would definitely stop in again when in the area.

Perfect place for a stranger. If you don’t know anyone in town, come get your drink, smoke your cigar, have a little chat with bartender. Slot machines in and you can smoke indoors. Lovely!

This was a great place my granddaughter and I were on a little excursion, we decided to ride to Galveston for the day and we went to a couple bars and this place was just a small little bar and the atmosphere was very good the bartender was extremely nice and the people that were in there were great to it was early do it wasn’t very crowded but it was perfect. We r grieving over some passing of close family members so we just wanted to sit and enjoy ourselves and that we did. We even left and came right back to it because we had a little car problem so we needed to sit awhile in a cool place to get our heads together to get home and we went back and played some music and just sat and enjoyed. So I highly recommend this place it was very peaceful and welcoming and very homely.

I'm not sure why this place has great reviews. It's pretty small and cramped, and with no mask or safety restrictions in place is a covid party waiting to happen. The beer is cold, but the wine is meh. Other reviews say the owner It's great, but he wasn't the most friendlist person around. It could have been a really, really bad day, but to someone who values customer experience this isn't the place. They have live music, but they didn't have any the day we were there. We went in early and went back a little later, but decided to go somewhere else.

We try to always come here when we are on the strand. Great little place to cool off, listen to music and have a few drinks.

This spot... damn you just can't say enough. The bartender CATFISH was bad ass, friendly, very attentive. The atmosphere was very hole in the wall, very divey. Found this spot driving by and was awesome to see only the locals hanging out. This is not a tourist spot... though I highly recommend going it may not be the spot if you don't like smoke, good ol folks, and those that speak their mind. I can't wait to be back. Only here for our first afternoon in Galveston. Dropped in for a few drinks. Very friendly neighborhood bar. Honest bar. "Got white wine?" " Yes, but its terrible." Gin and tonics were great. Learned of a second bar - same owner. We'll be there another day.

I asked for a double shot of tequila along with a cup or sprite …. Old bartender had a hard time hearing me once I got the check and left a $10 tip I looked up and my 2 cups were completely gone so I kindly waited 5 minutes until he came back to my end of the bar to ask what happened to my drink … when I asked him he said “that ain’t what you ordered” so I said ok well can I get a double shot of tequila along with sprite again please he told well yea if you pay for it I said why would I ask for it free then he refused to serve me so I left next door horrible experience

Horrible service was treated very rudely by bartender here on Sunday. He even threw away the glass that I was served my drink in and argued me down when confronted! And then kicked me out. Learn how to treat all patrons and not discriminate. DO NOT RECOMMEND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!!

Very chill vibe. Plenty of outdoor space. The bartender, Cheryl, made the experience great. She was incredibly attentive despite being busy and seemed to genuinely enjoy bartending. It was one of my best experiences with a bartender. I will definitely come back when I’m in town.

Bartenders are horrible. They made fun of me because I wanted an orange with my tequila. I will never support the bar here again. I was gonna buy five shots for my friends and after they made fun of me I canceled it.

Ended up here totally by accident. On a cloudy day we opted to do some shopping only to stop here upon hearing a song that I'd not heard in years being played by a guy with an acoustic guitar. Place was so comfortable that we'd have opted to stay even if it had not started pouring rain outside. Not spectacular, but a comfortable place to grab a drink or two and dig some live music

Ah yes, the elusive Dive Bar experience lives on at Patrick's Bar. Cheap drinks in an unpretentious setting with outstanding service where everyone knows your name! If it's date night, there are many other options. If you just want to relax, watch some sports or chat over some cold ones then welcome home. Drink specials daily plus the usual suspects on sale during happy hours. Couple touch screen games at the bar and a basketball game on the wall. I didn't see any food which would be my only request. OTW this is the perfect place to meet up before you charge the town or return to when you wanna wind down.

Stopped in at Patrick's for a cold one and a T-shirt (since my name is the same). Was told new shirts would be in, and Christina said she would mail me a 2X in white. Paid for it. Shirt never showed up, and Christina now hangs up the phone pretending she can't hear me or know what I'm talking about (after acknowledging she messed up and would indeed mail it to me). Make this right.

Don't come when they have a "pageant" that is not posted on any social media or on their night specials. Bar is too small for the people that show up with only one bartender on a Saturday night. The emcee in the with the red tail and black pup hood is telling people to shut up and go outside if they want to have a conversation. As a visitor to the island and visiting for my first time I do not feel welcome at this place. This sort of event should be held on a quieter night when people are not going out to have a nice drink and conversation with friends at a "safe space". The sound system kept breaking updating the performances

Went here yesterday for my 21st OMG IT WAS AMAZING!!! I didn’t get the bartenders name but I got my first lemon drop shot and I was in love he’s a wizard I swear it was so good!!! He was amazing!! First drag show too Chachie was definitely my favorite if I had more ones she would’ve gotten them alllll!!! Thank yall for giving me the best 21st!! 🤍🤍🤍

Its a LGBTQ+ bar. No frills, just thrills. Cowboy Tom, Matty, and the other bartenders all are friendly. There is a pool in back with a bar. Small stage in main club for Drag shows, karaoke, and musicals.

It's a nice neighborhood bar. One detraction is that they allow smoking but if you can go sit on the back patio it's worth it. The bartender was prompt and the drinks were good. We ran into a Log Cabin Republican and decided to run to a different bar after that, but it's still a good place to be. N

Horrible please if you are gay and if you are looking for entertainment avoid this please. Is full of smoke and crack people. I found that they were over serving on this guy on the leather night and they don’t tell him anything. He threw drinks at us and was very insulting. And the staff never did anything, just kept over serving…..Completely unresponsive place.

What a great little place. They greeted us warmly when we arrived. Crispy calamari. Excellent shrimp and grits. Broccolini was cooked perfectly. We topped it all off with the bread pudding.. which I highly recommend. And did I mention that the Service was top notch. Thank you for a very nice dinner with my wife.

Went for the soft shelled crab and was not disappointed, had a great crunch and soft on inside. Husband had stuffed flounder with mushroom risotto and loved it. We got crab stuffed shrimp as an appetizer, they were great but kind of pricey for only 4. Great service and friendly staff. Not good for quiet dining, can get noisy. We will definitely go back

My boyfriend and I had a date night there last night. EVERYTHING was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious! We sat at the bar with Yvonne! She was so attentive & made the best espresso martinis. The manager Kevin was very nice & super helpful when it came to menu suggestions. I 10/10 would recommend eating here. We had the escargot, Scallops, red fish, & finished with banana bread pudding. It was all cooked to perfection!

First time dining here with my sister for her birthday celebration - we were greeted by the host staff immediately and our waitress, Autumn, was absolutely AMAZING! She was super attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and specials going on, and checked in on us throughout our meal. The food was phenomenal, we ordered the BLVD and Rockefeller oysters; 10/10 would recommend! I would 100% come back here for the food, and of course the incredible service provided by Autumn!

Honestly this place is the hidden gem of Galveston! Found out about it through word of mouth from locals and let me tell you it did not disappoint. It is very unassuming from the outside, but inside it is a cute little seafood restaurant. We sat at the bar top and it was an amazing experience. From the time we walked in to the time we left the service was impeccable. I’m convinced there isn’t a bad thing you could order at this establishment. The chef is amazing and the staff recommended excellent food and drinks. This is the BEST restaurant in Galveston and it is a must try for any one in town. Could not say anything bad about this place. 10/10 recommend!

This place is in an old 7-Eleven gas station. It's been for about 10 years. Never tried it before. The prices are about what you expect is pay for good seafood in Galveston. The food was actually good. We enjoyed everything we tried. They call it gumbo, but it was very thick. It was still delicious however. It was very thick like a piquant though. The redfish was pretty good. The shrimp were well seasoned. Glad we came here, I will be back.

Helaina was a fun and friendly server who made us feel welcome. She took the time to explain different local draft beers so we could make an appropriate selection. She accommodated our request for watching Golf as well. Indoor/outdoor seating and dog friendly. Great views of the Seawall and the beach.

We came to eat here on our first night of Galveston vacation after looking for "burgers near me". The menu boasted fried deviled eggs and a colossal burger, fish and chips, and mozerella sticks. It looked like all the crowd pleasers and bonus, they were opened until 10pm. After a 6/7 hour drive from the Dallas area, no one wanted to cook. We were seated right away and the atmosphere was cozy. The service was a bit slow and our server made several mistakes. First, he brought me a wine glass that was clearly chipped on the rim. Second, much to the horror of a 12 year old who thought he was eating chicken wings, he brought duck wings instead of the chicken wings and we only figured it out when he brought a second round of Duck wings instead of the deviled eggs appetizer we ordered. At the end of the night, he brought our bill with both duck wings on it which we never ordered. My kids said the mozerella sticks "passed the cheese pull" test. My husband ordered the colossal burger and it was a joke. Don't waste the $24 for it. Get the Brick house classic or south paw burger instead. The Fish and Chips were mostly batter but crispy. The pretzel appetizer was as big as my kids head and was plenty for 7 people. The deviled eggs were good when we finally received them. The food was a bit disappointing and I probably wouldn't come here again.

The place is nice and dog-friendly, which was the main reason I chose to go there. Unfortunately, the service was the worst part of the experience. Besides the long wait for our food—which I could overlook since it was crowded and short-staffed—our waitress completely abandoned our table after bringing the food. No napkins, no sauces, no drink refills... I had to ask other servers just to get some napkins. She only returned when we were almost finished. So yeah, it was a bit frustrating.

We had a pleasant dinner at Brick House Tavern. They had something for everyone and our server (Aktilek) was awesome as he was very friendly and prompt. Easy parking for the guests is a big plus

Jeremy was our server in Galveston, TX and his service and recommendations were on point! We originally went here to try the Fried Deviled Eggs and Jeremy suggested the House Baked Jumbo Pretzel to go with them and he was totally right! Both are amazing!!!! The atmosphere is awesome!!!! We will definitely continue to dine here!!!!

The food was amazing but the waiter lacked attentiveness and accuracy of our order. I ordered my drink and he was quick to tell me is wasn't happy hour and I had to assure him I was unconcerned with that and my drink was still not ordered. My husband had to find another waitress to get me drink started. Again, the waiter needs to do more in the area of being accommodating of requests.

Party of 2x on a Wednesday at 630pm. Hardly anyone on the second floor (most were on the top floor...21 and older). Quick and friendly service. They have their own 'take' on German food (ie Brats on Hawaiin Buns). All the food was rated as excellent. House potato chips were some of the best in recent memory. Decor is naturally German themed and fun to look at. Certainly a place we will go back to when in town next time.

We went up on the deck on the third floor. We bought food and drinks. The food was very good and the portions are large. The online beer menu will not line up with what they really have because their inventory changes frequently. They print out a list of beer with a number next to each one. You order the beer by your number. It was bar service only at that hour on a weekday so we ordered at the bar. The bartender went downstairs to get our food and brought it back to us and he was very friendly. I would definitely recommend it, especially for the food.

Excellent German food options and non-German too! Schnitzel, pretzel and bangers mash were very tasty! Beer selection is amazing, so many beers to choose from! Great views from Top deck, best views in Strand. Local beers and big selection of imported German beers. Prices very reasonable. friendly staff. Highly recommended!! Also dog friendly section outside on first floor, kid friendly on second floor, pool table and video games too.

Good bar food with several German dishes thrown in. Plenty of brats to choose from and a great German beer selection. 3 floors to choose from, we sat on the 3rd floor overlooking the bay.

Omg. This place was incredible! Three floors and the upper two were open. We went up to the third floor where we could see the water. A bit dark but they have plenty of seating. Great menu with lots of options. We decided on brats (I got the Gouda one and hubby got the brisket one) and we got them American style (pulled pork, mac n cheese) w/ fries. We also got a pretzel as well. Absolutely incredible food! Waitress was very personable and friendly even though she was the only one manning the bar and delivering our food. Would definitely come here again!

We ate here Saturday night as a part of a group of 16. The atmosphere is interesting, and resembles an older, kind of smoky bar. Not a lot of seating on the 1st floor but we were seated quickly with a reservation. There appears to be exterior seating and an area on the second floor as well. It was hot outside but the restaurant was cool and a bit on the dark side, which was a welcome relief. Service was great as well. With a larger group there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, and many servers who know this might not really hustle...BUT our waitress, Guinevere, really shone through. She was attentive, answered all of our questions and kept our drinks full while we waited for our meal. The actual time for our meal to arrive was on the slow side however. It was an hour and 20 minutes before the plates started arriving. Not sure why, but there might have been a shortage of kitchen staff. My wife and I both got the blackened reddish tacos. We each received 4 small tacos with maybe a teaspoon of snapper inside. While there was a lot of different "stuff" in each taco, there was not actually a large quantity of the "stuff". The tacos tasted good but they were very small and overpriced at $17 per order. Each little corn tortilla was maybe 3 inches in diameter. We ordered a side of fries and received maybe 20 fries for $6. The person sitting across the table from us received a steak that was raw in the middle, after they had ordered a well done steak. It took 30 minutes for the replacement steak to arrive....after everyone else in our group had just about finished eating. The restaurant did comp the steak, but the long wait put us late for our next stop on our night out. Our meal took 2 hours, which is a bit on the long side. Last impression is that this is a reataurant for tourists...not really a local place with great food the locals might eat. I don't think it will be a repeat.

If you ever want to dine in ask for Sam! He was so kind and genuinely made our experience 10x better. He was kind, attentive, and cracked a few funny jokes here and there. The food was great as well, my group got the filet mignon and it came with two sides. The filet was very tender and not chewy at all and cooked to the perfect amount. There were quite a few options for the two sides which I appreciate. And I ordered a the Bowtie cocktail and it was dangerous! You can barely taste the alcohol, very sweet, reminded me of a pink lemonade, and I could definitely order 2-3 more! Overall Sam made our experience so enjoyable. I would come back just to have him as our server!

I made a reservation for a special birthday dinner. We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. The food was great too! We had a charcuterie to start with and that was my favorite! He had the NewYork strip and I had the chicken pasta and both were really good! Last but not least, the bread pudding is to die for!

We had wonderful experience at Hearsay, our server Sam Sr., truly, was the highlight of our night. Dined late on a Monday and Sam ensured we had the experience that matched the amazing atmosphere. The food was quick, hot and fresh. Sipped on the “Blue jeans and Bow ties” cocktail and it was as delicious as it was a delightful with the presentation. Definitely recommend Sam Sr to make sure you experience is top notch.

Amazing great quality cocktails with superb service! The ambiance is delightful. We loved it so much, we came back again the following day. My favorite drinks that I have had on the island! We only had dessert (yum), but any food that we saw go by looked like absolute perfection. Must try for sure!

The manager was super sweet too, and the place itself looks like Pinterest and a jazz club had a baby. Live music, good vibes, and I got a filet mignon with two sides for under $30?! I thought I was being pranked. Everything was amazing — food, atmosphere, service. If you’re thinking about coming here, stop thinking and just do it.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn resort and this bar is inside the building. They had live music on Friday so my wife and I went down to check it out. The band was a lot of fun and my wife and I had a blast. They also order from the restaurant in the building. We had some beer and a couple cocktails, then got a pretzel which ended up being awesome. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Been coming here for years. Always our go to for good bands and drinks. Food is good too. We love watching The Line Up perform on Thursdays. Wish their breaks were shorter but we always enjoy their music. Juan is our favorite server. If he’s still around you’ll be in great hands. Drinks are good too.

This is THE place for karaoke on Tuesday and Wednesday nights! KJ Debbie is amazing and we have never had so much fun at a karaoke bar before! Good, clean, absolutely FUN!

Fun bar, always a good band. The service is not usually very good, but if you like good music, a bit of an older crowd, and dancing you’ll have a great time.

My husband and I went there last night to enjoy live music - The Line Up. No one waited on us so my husband went up to the bar and apparently the bartender was also too busy to get him a beer. Finally we got one. Then we ordered an Espresso Martini. Twenty minutes later we were brought a chocolate Martini and then the waiter/manager argued with us that it was not the drink we ordered. Apparently the bartender doesn't know the difference between espresso Martini and a chocolate Martini. The band was great, but we left and won't be back.

The remodel is gorgeous, the burgers are top notch, The Tracey Perez band is fantastic, they draw people in, get them on the dance floor and it's always a great time!

Hotel bars seldom live up to the hype of 90’s movies, but this one was just bad. Walked in and sat at the bar. Some kid with dreads who was washing glasses just stared at me then continued cleaning. No greeting, nothing. The other bartender did just about everything she could to walk past and not acknowledge me. After sitting there for 7 minutes watching them actively avoid me, I decided this is probably the game they play anytime white people come in. Finally one of them asked me if I wanted anything as if I just came to bask in their presence. Hell no. Avoid this place. 0/10 If I could

Good selection of food. Burgers, sandwiches, tacos and salads. Kids options also. I got Blaines smash burger. It was really good and filling. My husband got the big tex. He said it was good as well although i think he would pick something else at our next visit. Not crowded, dim lighting. It was nice

Awesome burgers. I usually go for lunch during the week, I get in and out quickly. Everything is fresh and tasty. The burger of the month is always some wild creation that’s worth trying!

Kevin,bar and table service was really kind and knowledgeable about beers, past full time brewer. We went back the next day to also eat. While we missed the special of the day, but the smash burger and fries and watermelon gazpacho were all delicious. Ate the burger before I realized I forgot a picture.Thank you Brews Brothers! We'll definitely return when we visit Galveston.

This is a fun place with some amazing offerings. Lots of the menu items can be made gluten free and the owners understand celiacs. Dedicated frier and lots of ciders and GF beers.

This place was fantastic! I ordered the Notorious P.I.G. (bougie pulled pork) and my boyfriend had the Mission From God burger (goat cheese burger with grilled onions and mushrooms) and we split. HOLY HELL. Yes. Just yes. This place has the food.

After fishing and not having any luck we decided to try this place out, nice selection of beers on tap, food was excellent. The bartender was excellent, my only gripe was the red salsa was bland, maybe needed some salt or a bit more kick. Also the Avocado fries were amazing, can’t believe I’ve never had those before, this was the first time I’ve seen them on a menu. We’ll definitely be back when we hit up the strand.

This place was cute. loved the outdoor seating by the beach really cute view with lots of different seating areas. We sat down low and we were lucky enough to be alone over there. Our food was alright it wasn't anything special, but to be fair I only got the chicken strips because I wasnt quite hungry. My mom got the fish tacos. The fish wasnt fresh and the shells were off putting in her words. My dad says the po boy didn't have enough flavor and it still had the shell on the shrimps. This was a miss for us.

Other than being under staffed it was good. The staff that was there were very busy and earning every bit of their paychecks and tips. Friendly and professional. The food was pretty good and was fair prices. A good place to sit and people watch.

Although the view is amazing, the food os microwaved frozen seafood. If you have had fresh seafood in the island, you know frozen seafood when you have it. It is a shame that one person is expected to handle the bar and the food on the day of the Regata. Especially when Holiday Inn is always advertising for people to work for the "club" services. My first time here. I live a block away. Really wanted to love it. Won't be back, although bartender was amszing!

SLOW service, it took 28 minutes to get our order. There were not very many other people there. My shrimp/fry basket had a great flavor ($16...and no, I hadn't eaten any of the fries even tho the picture looks like I had). Husband ordered nachos ($12) that came out cold and were returned to the kitchen...new order came out in about 5 minutes and were warmer, he said the flavor was pretty good however could have had more pico, chili, cheese and chips. I ordered a peach margarita that didn't have any peach and tasted like a salt margarita. The atmosphere and music was very nice tho lol! We would not go back...unfortunately.

This place is literally at the beach, super chill vibe and food is not too shabby. Aligator tail was delicious!

SLOW service!! 28 minutes from order to table for nachos and grilled shrimp and fries basket. Nachos were cold and shrimp and fries were just so so. They brought some fresh nachos and they were pretty good. Great location and nice music/vibes. Right on the beach. Overall not impressed.

We are visiting Galveston before our cruise and tried a few restaurants. This was the best one we tried. The whole dining experience was fantastic. The menu had so many options. They were flexible to modifying dishes to meet my dietary needs. Dessert was divine. We got the bread pudding and a chocolate dome, which was melted table side with a hot chocolate sauce revealing the warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream inside. 😱 We would totally come back when we get another chance. This place is a must-try!

Vargas deserves more than 5 stars! The food was superb! The bisque was one of the best I've ever tasted. My husband and I both ordered their steak and lobster special, which was phenomenal. And their whipped potatoes were delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Their level of service and detail creates is perfect, especially when you are seeking a little more elevated dining experience.

One of the best restaurants I've been eating in USA. Everything in this restaurant is excellent. If you looking for culinary experience you must stop be here. It costly but it's worthless $$$$. (Average $100.00 per person)

If you go as a couple, sit in the bar, as it’s soooooo much quieter than the main dining room. The menu is the same in the bar and the food is great! We had ribeye, Caesar salad, onion rings and a baked potato. All were excellent! 😋

Amazing experience! Upscale, classy decor, friendly staff, and the food is beyond delish. I had the snapper in lobster sauce, hubs had the American Wagyu Ribeye and we shared the scallops over risotto and lump crab. Wine and cocktails were great. But above all, the service was some of the best we’ve had, anywhere. Bruno was kind, knowledgeable, and enhanced the entire evening. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Came here twice on Saturday and going back again today on Sunday. This place is a jem, the employees are friendly and the food is not only good but reasonably priced. I did prefer the lunch food over breakfast, but I’m going back for the biscuits and gravy. The boudin balls!! Them boudin balls weee amazing. They were not mushy, but perfection. The fish was fried just the way I like it and the potato salad tasted just like my mom’s. Restaurant was clean, but gave good ol small town/ grandma’s house vibes, which I loved. I forgot to mention the cupcakes, the icing is homemade and I’ll be grabbing some more today.

Leo’s Cajun Corner is a true hidden gem! I really appreciate that it’s not corporate-run—you can feel the difference in the atmosphere and the food. It’s authentic Cajun cooking done right. The boudin balls were amazing—crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. We were hoping to try the stuffed crab, but they were out this time. No worries though, just gives us another reason to come back! One thing I want to mention is the lady who helped us—I could tell she may be partially deaf, and I just want to commend her for her kindness and great service. She was attentive, patient, and did a fantastic job. Great food, great people. We’ll definitely be back!

I stopped in to Leo's Cajun Corner today because I was craving brown beans and cornbread. I ordered a riblet dinner with coleslaw, beans and rice and cornbread. Man, the food was so delicious! The riblets were flavorful, the coleslaw was homemade-peppery and vinegary and the beans had chunks of salty ham and just the right amount of spice! The service was also fantastic! I'll definitely be back to Leo's.

Order at the counter and pick a table. This is our first time. We had the catfish supreme tray (fried catfish covered in etouffe) very very very good. And the crab cakes were delicious also (and large). This is enough for two people., if you are not so hungry. We came before any rush so it’s quiet. We will be back.

It’s not fancy, it’s just completely awesome. I am from Cajun country but live elsewhere now. I was in Galveston for a wedding and stumbled across this place. It’s my favorite kind of restaurant: A+ food served in an unpretentious atmosphere for very reasonable cost.

Sorry...ate there today...not happy...my family is from la and this is no were what i am used too... service was awsome but food was a miss.. I ordered ribblets with shrimp...red beans and rice and potatoe salad...my husband ordered pork chops...they were trash...taste like they were boiled.... and the rice dressing was bland... borderline sour.. How do you mess up green beans?... I will pass...and the additional charge for débit card... smh...will not eat here again..... wish you the best....

Mini and Desi were awesome!! They gave me top notch service. My big boi was serviced and given water and treats, and the tacos were bomb! The SALSA green and red were delish, over all of your in the mood for good Mexican street tacos come and stop by and visit my new friends Mini and Desi!!!!

Service seems ok, atmosphere is pretty nice. We didn’t actually order because we wanted frozen drinks that were on the menu but nothing available for some reason. Good selection so I would probably give it another try.

Bartender was great, she made very good margaritas. Food was pretty good we had Scottish eggs and loved them, blackened salmon benedict was really good, hash browns were just ok. Games were on and a little to loud for me right now but still glad they were enjoying it. We will for sure be back in the future.

Stopped by while the Astros game was on. Asked if they were still doing the $1 drafts while a local team's game was on TV, sadly the bartender said no. Settled for a pitcher, we still had a good visit.

We were spending three days in Galveston, visiting several restaurants and bards, and our experience here (at this bar) was the best. I tried to catch the names of the bar tenders on staff, but I forgot. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We went to several restaurants and bars in the area and this was the spot we felt the most welcomed. On top of the amazing service, the drinks were fantastic - strong and delicious.

The food and service here were great. However, the atmosphere was very weird and ghetto in here. Barely any music, some creepy and some drunk people near the patio outside, just the atmosphere didn’t feel as welcome as I was expecting it to be as a restaurant. Unsure if I would come back here. The food was good though, but a little pricy.

Came here with my parents it was like a go up to the counter and order thing. Thought the place was cute only has skee ball and basket ball so that was a bit disappointing. The nachos were okay but stale chips. Really quiet when we went cool decor especially in bathroom!

My wife and I just happened upon this restaurant while walking on the strand, and we were pleasantly surprised by how absolutely delicious the burgers were! They were truly some of the best burgers we’ve had, and they were seasoned extremely well (look at the picture). If you’re in Galveston, definitely make this one of your stops!

Glad we stopped in for a quick and easy dinner on our last night! Portions were huge, plenty of adequate seating inside and outside, music was a reasonable level and it seemed pretty clean. Onion rings were so good and food came out fast! We’ll be back!

What a fun place! Came in to get something to eat, and it was great idea! Music with a live show outside, great vibe, happy people, and sunshine will make anyone happy. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a California burger with fries, and two cocktails. Great cocktails, and great burgers. Definitely a place to come in at lunch and have a break, or in the evening for a night out.

This burger place and bar was a nice surprise. We were hungry and looking for burgers and good drinks. This place had exactly what we needed. With a great selection on the food and bar menu, our decision was easy. The staff were helpful with great customer service. We tried the frozen and on the rocks version of their margaritas and were not disappointed. The burgers were not wimpy in any ways and had great flavor. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. A little stage for live music and video games for entertainment options. Highlights were the burgers, fries and onion rings. Not one complaint from our table and even our picky kid ate everything. Sooo good and a great location.

WE LOVED THIS PLACE! As soon as we walked in we were greeted very friendly and with a nice smile. Maria our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was just fabulous, it had a very Mexican home made flavor cooked meal. This was our first time walking into the restaurant but it definitely won't be the last, this place it a must have if you're in the Galveston area. We highly recommend eating here if you're looking for an authentic Mexican meal.

We stumbled upon this spot and were wowed by the vibrant flavors! The Mexican platter was HUGE and gave you a little bite of everything. The mini taco plate was delicious, though the meat was a bit gristly. Still, the homemade tortillas were fresh and perfect, and the cold salsa with hot chips was heavenly! Everything tasted fresh, and we’re excited to return for more.

Ordered their barbacoa burrito on door dashed to be delivered to my hotel room for breakfast & it was excellent!!! Exceptionally fresh ingredients! I was very impressed!

We were looking for an authentic “hole in the wall “ Mexican restaurant and we surely found one here! The inside is a lil small, tables were a lil closer than my liking, but that’s not a deal breaker. It’s really a cute lil spot with outdoor dining area as well. The Huevos rancheros was exactly what my mouth was watering for, and those refried beans OH MY GOSH!! I’ve never tasted refried beans so good in my life! I know they’re just refried beans BUT BAYBEEEE! Ooo weee!! My son got the Homemade burger, it came with the works and this cute lil pickle topper garnish. It definitely did not disappoint! We will be returning on our next visit to the island!

Migas a la Mexicana! Delicioso! Lemonade was refreshing. Great Breakfast! Excellent waiter! Flour tortilla was thick but light and huge, only needed one. Authentic!

Sometimes a morning cocktail would be nice, but in lieu of that, there are food so far has been tremendous. Why would I want to eat anything else other than the surprise burrito?.

The food was so delicious. All the people there was so friendly and smiling. The lemonade was the best I've had in a while. If your in Galveston you definitely need to stop by and get something to eat!

The brunch menu at The Fancy is a small selection of really good food and drinks. Only a handful of restaurants in Galveston are worth revisiting and we will be back. The 3 different kolaches were fantastic, cold apps and brunch menu items totally worth it. Only two things were disappointing and they are the burger bun was incredibly dense and small and not edible. Also if you go sit on the cushioned booths because the chairs are terribly uncomfortable. Please replace the chairs!

Wonderful hidden Gem on the seawall of Galveston Island Texas my hometown! The service fantastic! The food dynodutimously delicious! 10/10 and I am looking forward to going back to taste more! It’s official: I’m starting The Fancy Fan Club y’all. We went to The Fancy at Hotel Lucine on a date night. We didn't know what to expect from it since it was new. We were blown away in the best of ways by the food, cocktails, and staff. The food is creative, nuanced, thoughtful, intentional, and well balanced AF. We kept thinking at some point a dish was going to let us down and not sing on a plate, but the hits kept coming with unforgettable tastes and textures. One win after another. Chef Leila is truly a rising star... Hello James Beard, come check out The Fancy! She’s one saucy chef putting poetry on a plate. Gage concocted us the most delightfully creative cocktails. He’s incredibly talented. Philip was on point all night making sure we were taken care of well. The hospitality was all around warm and welcoming. The Fancy mastered that elusive balance of being attentive yet respectful of your space and privacy while dining. We can't wait to come back again and again because The Fancy is hands down the BEST restaurant in Galveston.

Exceeded expectations!! We came to celebrate our anni and will absolutely be back again. You MUST try the caesar salad w the fish balls - very unique and delicious take on a classic. Bucatini was lemony and fresh - not too heavy at all. The Blackened Trout with the chow chow relish - h o l y m o l y - this dish blew my mind and taste buds! Side snap peas were nice and smokey. Only thing we didn't like was the chocolate tart - though beautifully presented, the crust was lackluster and texturally didn't work with the other components. We traded it in for a moist creme brulee cake dessert that was much better flavor and texture wise! Cocktails were great too!

We came in late for our stay at Hotel Lucine and were grateful for an onsite place to grab dinner. My husband and I shared the flounder and it was so fresh and well cooked, our older children didn’t love the risotto they ordered but ended up eating most of it. We shared a few sides and they were wonderful! I love and appreciate scratch kitchens so waiting for good, fresh seafood is no trouble at all. It’s not an overly large restaurant, but I liked the decor and the evening ambiance. Note: don’t be in a rush, they are cooking the dishes from scratch and that takes time.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, amazing drinks, love the decor! The only thing I didn’t like was the tables are very close together. It felt like the parties next to us were part of our table, which doesn’t feel good when that table is quiet and listening to our conversation. My recommendation is to move tables further apart. We were seated by the gulf view window.

I came to celebrate my 40th birthday. Started off great but ended terribly. Shame too because I was ready to rave about this place. The ambiance was cool. The decor was well done and it has a cool vibe. Cool furniture, all around dope. The cocktails were quite good as well. I had 2 and then a glass of wine. All top notch. The food: excellent. Everything I had was great. I had the crabs cake which was delightfully crunchy and all crab. The Caesar salad was likewise fantastic. The croquettes were insanely good. For an entree I had the snapper. Perfect size, though it could have used a little more umph in the taste department, it was still quite good. Now here comes the bad: the service was awful. Started off well, cocktail came out quickly and the crab cake and salad came out at the same time. Was expecting staggered but no prob. My 2nd cocktail came out on schedule... then it was about 30 mins on the snapper and my glass of wine. And after that, my waitress forgot about me for 52 minutes. I know because I had sent a text photo of when the entree hit the table. I was tucked in a back corner because I was by myself, but then the entire staff seemed to forgot I was there or ignore me. I tried to get someone's attention a few times but I was like they were doing the "I see him but not my area/problem" side eye. It got the point of ridiculous and then I decided to see just how long it would go. If not so annoying it would have been quite comical. My water glass was empty for an enternity. My plate was clearly finished, silverware in the "please adios my plate" position for about a half hour. A table got seated next to me and they waited and waited on their waitress (same one I had) for over 20 minutes until they had to go find someone (I know because I was just about done with my plate when they were seated). When my waitress finally arrived, she asked if I wanted anything it. Else being my birthday I HAD wanted dessert, but after being at the restaurant for over 2 hours I was done. I asked for the cookies to go, which they brought to me not to go so they had to take them back and pack them up. I had a nice little card that said happy birthday when I sat down, but 2 hours later the waitress forgot, didn't even get a happy birthday on my way out. Started off great, ended bitter. Will try again but won't be top of the list, which sucks because I did want to try the hotel.

Was there as the guest band for Sidewalk Sessions. Second year doing this and we love the Proletariat Gallery & Pub for hosting and promoting live music. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is really cool. If your plans take you to Galveston the Proletariat needs to be on your list of places to go. And don't forget about the live music at Sidewalk Sessions on Wednesday nights from 8:30 to 9:30.

I haven’t eaten the food here but I love getting the Earl grey tea with a shot of almond milk on the side since it is loose leaf. The tea is delicious and I love the artistic atmosphere especially the bound notebooks on the counter with people’s art in it. The bartender is wonderful and nice. I highly recommend visiting if you want to relax with a nice drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

We come for the vibes, and it does not disappoint! Such kind people with such delicious drinks. I loved their new reeces latte. Get it iced, and you'll love it too. My boyfriend claims their cold brew is superior to all others. Nothing beats it. We also like to get a snack there by ordering pizza. I think its a separate business that they collab with. Either way, so good. One thing I love about coffee shops and The proletariat in general is their board games and, especially, their bar journal. We love writing in the bar journal, expressing what we think in that moment, seeing what others have said. Its a pretty great experience. We also like opening a tab there, which is super accommodating.

She Electra She remembered you told Electra to leave because you said that THE AIDEN THE GREAT GENIUS speaking was bothering a bitter old man and that is why Sean is NOT a star because She Electra she says that Sean got burnedddd😝 Sean not SOL because only she has the accounting book and DIOS gave her the sword that she has and she can not die. So, Esther says that when you try hard is when you die hard!!!! 🗡️🔥🗡️🔥 Because remember when he said “SHE Electra IS HOT…and you are not” 😌 Because she is just a girl baby…👼

So much to say! It's a family and pet friendly pub with craft beer, wine and coffee, an art gallery, and a showplace for art activities. Also sponsors a street concert every Wednesday night (originally started during the COVID lockdown, so musicians could safely perform and building residents could attend via their surrounding windows). There's more but I just suggest every visitor to Galveston experience this unique place themselves.

Been coming here since I moved to Galveston in 2019. It's a fantastic place that is really a big part of my Galveston experience. I frequent the place as a place to study. They have both coffee and lots of alcoholic drinks. It's especially a nice place to study on a weekend night when all I want to do is hang with my friends instead. So to keep things spicy, I usually will get a draft deer on a slow Saturday night. The only reason I take a star is because their wifi isn’t always the most reliable. This place is also perfect for a hang out with friends or when family come into town. Pro has art exhibits year round that changes about once a month from amazing local artists. They have a large selection of board games as well. Check them out!

John has been the BEST bartender to my group of 4 friends. We came on a Thursday evening and came back specifically for John. He gave a great late night food recommendation for Thursday when we left & again for where to go for Sunday brunch. His old fashioned was also delicious. Be sure to sit at the bar & ask for John.

The bartenders were professional and the drinks were cold and well made, but the piano duet was a total bust. Not sure how to rate a piano bar that had a great bar but a bad piano show. The musicians were not drunk or mean - they tried hard and they did what they could, but it was absolutely not worth a $10 cover charge. I happily pay a cover because In most cases it is well with the price, but these guys were not good enough to play on a cruise ship or coffee bar in my opinion. They were off key. The tempo between them was off beat, and they played the same old sappy piano bar music from 30 years ago (crocodile rock/piano man, etc) and it was far and away the worst version i have heard live - ever. My kudos to the bartenders who were still all smiles and professional even though the bad music was clearly hurting their pocket book. The owner(s) would be careful not to lose them and hire better musicians.

Terrible wine selection. Cheap mini bottles only. Unlike any piano bar I’ve been to. Do love Keith Neubauer though. For some reason on the last visit there was no AC.

This place feels Right. Located across the Galveston Seawall the front patio feels like that's your spot. But once you walk in it's a whole New World. Came here on vacation for the last day of our honeymoon. What’s great place! Beautiful view and the bartenders were so much fun! Great recommendations of things to do for us, and they were genuinely interested in us having a good time. Even put our games for NFL Sunday on for us. Atmosphere was fun watching the game with Texans fans. Will come back when we are in town again! Thank you for a great time!

Horrible experience! Bar tender that was off duty sitting at the bar was accusing myself and my friends as being feds (ICE). Only 5 minutes there and a younger girl was falling to the ground dropping her glass due to be wasted by 6:30pm. We had our beer and the bar tender (off duty) kept accusing of us as being feds. Horrible establishment.

This was one of the few places open on a Saturday night until 11 pm that had a big menu with lots of variety. There are 4 differently themed bars but all the food comes out of a singular kitchen, all the menus are the same. Very well decorated and outdoors. They have plenty of heaters on and the patios were covered.. Probably a cool spot in the summer when it's bright and the ocean is visible. Speaking of which, The ocean water cocktail was very sweet but that's how I prefer it. It didn't taste like alcohol but it sure made an impact on my sobriety very quickly. My wife enjoyed her rum punch, but compared to how the ocean water tasted, the Alcohol was very prevalent. We got mozzarella sticks and they were MASSIVE. Nice and crunchy, great red dipping sauce, albeit slightly thin (watery) but good flavor. I got the Ralph burger, and GET THE BACON JAM. that stuff is delicious. The burger was huge, stacked with fried onion strips, and the waffle fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. My wife got the grilled veggies with onion rings, the veggies hit the spot. She felt the onion rings were slightly undercooked, but I thought they were OK. Definitely could have been in the oil an extra 20 seconds. My wife got a mai Thai as her second drink and she was out for the count after that. I didn't see dessert on their menu but I I think one of the rooms had an ice cream shop in it. Will definelty come back here if we cruise out of Galveston again!

Alexis R was great she didn’t miss a beat and the atmosphere was perfect for opening weekend of college football. Diablo shrimp was suuuuuper good and the hurricane is sneaky. Be ye careful.

We appropriately ordered rum punches here to get the night started. While enjoying the live band playing, we got the spot sampler which had a good variety of appetizers. The ambiance was generally breezy, fun and lively. Although normally free to enter, you may be required to pay a cover on popular nights.

First time to The Spot and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are 5 bars all connected and have different themes but operate independently. Went to the Rum Shack on a Friday night and there was a live band and the drinks were delicious and well priced. The Spot sits right off the beach with a great view and lots of outdoor seating. Definitely look forward to going back again.

The atmosphere and drinks are why you come here! The mango mojito was to die for. My boyfriend could not stop drinking my drink. The view of the beach are lovely. The food needs a little bit of help. I think there may only be one kitchen in this whole place. There are 4 restaurant in this whole building. It took about 45 mins to get our food and it was not busy at the Rum Shake. There was also one server for the whole restaurant. Which make getting drinks take a while too. She was really nice! Ana I think it was. Come here for a laid back and relaxing night where you don’t have to go anywhere. The drinks are amazing!

Low key spot, great drinks that get you toasted. They have a smoke section and reasonable priced food. The environment is tropical Island cozy mixed with club atmosphere. The service is tactful with smiles on their faces. Let’s not forget the great music/Dj on Saturday nights.
