The Light Brigade is a historic pub with four floors, each offering a unique experience. On the ground level, guests can enjoy classic pub fare while watching live sports games. The next level features Subida, a modern Spanish pintxos and tapas bar that offers an eight-course Chef's Selection menu. However, the highlight is the top-floor bar, Brigade Rooftop, which has recently undergone a stylish refurbishment.
They have seating on multiple floors, and by 5:30 the place started filling up quickly! Food was served in reasonable time and was good pub food. Beef Ragu Pappardelle was the best of what we tried.

A very nice venue, let down by apathetic stuff and absent management. This place had some of the filthiest bathrooms I have been to, and a bartending team that does not even know how to make a Manhattan which is a pretty basic cocktail. Our pizzas were left sitting on the counter for 40 minutes to get cold while the staff milled about chatting and laughing behind the bar rather than notify us that our order was ready
Barnzy — Google review
What a shame for such an iconic rooftop view. First time visiting and probably the last. Even though I just moved into the neighbourhood. Beautiful building, and the front-of-house staff were lovely. The food was honestly some of the worst I’ve had at a Sydney pub in a long time. We were a group of 4. Ordered a couple of small mixed plates to share, planning to follow with burgers. Told everything would come out at once — apparently the kitchen can’t stagger dishes? We were the only table in the venue at opening. Surely it’s not that hard to hold off cooking a burger for 15 minutes when there is no other dockets. I've work in Hospo and managed restaurant and also dine in many Pub. it's not that hard you just "don't care" Then the food arrived… and it was disappointing and sad just to look at to say the least. (Pics) But give it the benefit of the doubt and tried it. Calamari was like rubber bands, polenta chips were fried to death, and the $32 double patty burger was so overcooked it was dry and tough — usually a sign of poor-quality meat or bad cooking. We spoke to the manager, who was understanding. Not their fault, but someone in the kitchen either needs training or retirement. We spent $140 on food and left most of the food that the manager removed after we spok. At that point, even just a round of drinks or a bottle of wine (who is about $20 cost price) as a goodwill gesture would’ve made a difference. I rarely leave bad reviews, but for a Paddington pub, this was seriously underwhelming.
Jo C — Google review
The Ceviche was really disappointing, i understand its a pub, but if someone offers something the should know a little more about how to make the product. Fish was old and stinky so i didn’t eat it, no lemon at all, big pieces of fish and some other stuff like sweet potatoes…hmm oke it sounds good though on the menu but its really bad made. Buffalo wings was okey but not special Burger was burned and had a bitter taste and definitely not how should be. The rooftop is the only thing why i could consider to come back for a drink. Drinks are not bad. But No mocktails at all…mocktails are so simple to make and you have anyway the higher profits at the end of the day. So why not sell them… Employees was professional, we had a birthday party and we booked a table for 10 people and we consumed from beginning everyone drinks, beer and food. But they kicked us off the rooftop after two hours even if they confirmed with a mail the reservation for the table…fair enough this is normal in Sydney and I leave it as a side note. We had fun aswell on the first floor. Yeah average pub and i gonna try probably something else next time…

I had been going to the Light Brigade for over 37 years. All was great, then enter the Laundy group, very quickly a lot of locals are disappointed with the changes to the 2 fo 1 Tuesdays, reducing to less than half of the old menu. But it was the no communication- No verbal warning, no signs, no new 2for1 menu, just having the bill doubling over night. Then they change it to taco Tueasdays- what a joke, barely any filling. We went in April 2025, ordered 12 for $60, they were so empty we had to order another 12. my 8 and 10yo wanted more. So we came home to make toast. $120 of tacos for a family of four, who had to come home to cook. Instead of writing a review, I contacted the Laundy Group. I had a group head chef contact me and tell my I would be invited back as apology of what he said wasn't acceptable. I have heard nothing. So I'll assume nothing has changed , so with a decent Mexican place a few doors up and a ton of other great pubs in Paddington, we have no need to go back.
Peter R — Google review
Gosh! The worst food (i'm sorry!) I've ever had in a long time , it was really bad. The ceasar salad was dry, it can be called as lettuce salad, as it had a kg of lettuce and 20gm chicken . Buffalo Chicken wings had no seasoning . Water was the only good thing I had there
Reena D — Google review
We went on a night that trivia was held to have dinner and play. You pay at the counter for your food but then you have to collect your food up on the first floor and bring it down. The food was ok but not amazing. The salad has zero dressing on it so I went back and asked for some dressing and then it started much better. The greens were delicious. Trivia was one of the worst we've been to. Felt rushed and the sound system was terrible. Couldn't hear much as there was so much other noise. We've had meals on the rooftop before and we prefer that instead
Natalie D — Google review
Went to The Light Brigade for our Christmas dinner party. Very good pub with lovely food but extremely noisy! We were allocated a small room on the first floor next to the kitchen, so was a little squishy for 20 people. Food was good, but on the expensive side for what we all paid per head. Service was average, which made me think they left us to our own business instead of interrupting our function to clear away dirty dishes. Parking can be a pain, being on the main road on Woollahra: two hour limit. So you might have to walk 10-20 minutes to get parking close by.

The venue features exposed brick walls and offers a cozy atmosphere for patrons to enjoy an extensive wine list paired with share plates. The establishment boasts a high-end bar area at the front, a quaint courtyard in the middle, and intimate nooks at the back. Stunning evening with incredible service and amazing staff. Great wine selection from across the world. Would highly recommend this place!

Amazing! We got there late afternoon and managed to slowly eat and drink our way through the menu for 3 hours. To be honest I could’ve sat here all night! The main bartender/host (sorry we missed her name) was amazing, recommended a great wine and was lovely to chat to. Food was incredible, perfect little bites followed by a delicious prawn ravioli. Highly recommend and can’t wait to be back. Thanks for a perfect Saturday afternoon
Giulia N — Google review
It was an impromptu date night with my husband and this place didn’t disappoint. From the warm, inviting ambiance to the exceptional service, everything hit the mark. The wine list was thoughtfully curated, and the staff’s recommendation was so good we ended up taking a bottle home. We sampled the focaccia, tuna crudo, and prawn ravioli—each dish was beautifully executed and full of flavor. A perfect spot for a cozy evening out.

I personally LOVE coming to Wine Library. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, they provide fantastic recommendations and I’ve never met a wine I didn’t like at your bar. Props to the chefs too because the food is phenomenal. I could eat those Gruyère croquettes all day every day. Thank you for creating a space that feels like home, that welcomes people with open arms and feels like a cosy hideaway for locals.

Really enjoyed this little bar in Paddington. Friendly welcoming staff, nice dishes and good wine. Although not cheap, we did not feel overcharged. Good dishes were the Wagyu beef tartare, the crudo, fried zucchini sticks, meat balls in sauce, and the Barramundi. Wines were also of good quality.
Gerard V — Google review
My wife and I had dinner at The Wine Library recently, not having been for quite some time and regretted not having been, because it has always been a fabulous establishment if you wanted simple but beautifully prepared food accompanied by excellent wine. We shared croquettes, chicken liver pate, meatballs and a leaf salad, all delicious and accompanied by wine recommended by staff, who were charming and attentive. The atmosphere was fabulous and you couldn’t help but enjoy yourself. We will definitely be back.

A charming little wine bar with a lovely atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, the wine excellent, and it was an incredible deal with First Table. Sadly, the prawn ravioli wasn’t available due to a machine issue, but that just gives us the perfect excuse to come back. Our waitress, Yam, was delightful and made the afternoon even more enjoyable.

Bar
Old Mate's Place is a hidden gem in Sydney's CBD, offering a unique and intimate experience for visitors. The bar is tucked away, and finding it adds to the adventure. Once inside, guests are greeted by a cozy woodsy interior with leather booths and a terrace that offers stunning views of Sydney's skyline. Led by experienced professionals, the bar boasts an impressive list of classic cocktails as well as fan-favorite drinks.
One of the best bars in Sydney! Great atmosphere and vibes, cool decor, fantastic service and unique drinks! The bartenders are always so helpful at recommending drinks, or making things off menu as well! I will never forget the cocktail I had here a couple of years ago. It was a citrusy drink, with either cucumber or mint and an amazing kick of spice! It was so fresh, but the spice made it even more unique. The bartender was telling us about it, and said it wasn't a margarita, but something even older than a margarita that came from Mexico and surrounds. Wish I knew what the name of that cocktail was, because I've been thinking about it ever since, and have never been able to find it again. The food here is also surprisingly good! Very tasty.
Sophie W — Google review
I went in expecting it to be just another cocktail bar in Sydney but this place went above and beyond. Charles and Nacho the bartenders made our birthdays extra special and we felt like we made new friends as well. That kind of service and connection is so rare these days and old mates place is a little gem. Also a beautiful rooftop view. Highly recommend.
Erika R — Google review
Fricking awesome! Staff are attentive and friendly. Welcoming and engaging… not to mention the cocktails are 11/10. Delicious- recommend the ‘Peter rabbit.’ Big shout out to Alex - super helpful. Give that man a pay rise.
Rebecca L — Google review
This place is stunning, tucked away in what initially feels like a run-down apartment building until you reach the 4th floor (take the lift lmao, I took the stairs) and open the bar’s front door and step into an absolutely stunning setting. Amazingly decorated with cute touches everywhere. And then we discovered the cocktails! Dare I say the best signature cocktails in Sydney. I need to go back ASAP and try them all. But what really makes this place a solid 5/5 is the incredible service we received from Chuckles. What an absolute legend. Super friendly, really helpful when it came to helping us decide what cocktails to choose and incredibly knowledgeable about each drink. Good service can be found all over Sydney but this guy took it to the next level. Thanks Chuckles & the rest of the team. I’ll be recommending this place to anyone I meet and I’ll definitely be back soon.
Anya L — Google review
I love finding a new speakeasy and every time I am in a new city I try to seek one out, but this place puts two of my favourite things together; it’s a speakeasy AND a tiki bar 😍💯 I can’t recommend them enough, the food is super tasty and reasonably priced for a cocktail bar, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and trained, the vibes are so fun and different and there’s 3 different levels so you can easily spend hours here between the 3 locations! I came the first time during World Pride in 2023 and literally it lived rent free in my head for 2.5 years till I moved here and I wouldn’t stop talking about it to EVERYONE I met 😂🙈
Michelle V — Google review
Fantastic experience! Amazing cocktails, a fun atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. The only downside is that if you’re not from the area, it can be a little tricky to find, but honestly, that just adds to the adventure. It’s a hidden bar! You go up a few flights of stairs (maybe there’s a lift, but we took the stairs) and reach a door that looks like a fire exit. Open it, and wow, there’s an incredible, huge bar behind it. We were greeted immediately and seated. Our waiter explained the whole place, how it works, and gave excellent recommendations for cocktails. His service was top-tier, helpful, attentive, and never rushed. The cocktails themselves all have little stories, are fun, and taste amazing. A little tip: if you’ve had a few drinks, don’t order the “hidden cocktail” I won’t spoil it, but it comes with some fun tricks! Overall, I’d definitely come back next time we’re in town.
M C — Google review
Cocktails were creative and came with a fun backstory. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were all super friendly and knew their stuff. The music and vibe were spot on. We went on a friday night, which wasn’t too packed, but I hear thursdays go off 🤪 Definitely worth a visit!
Amorntip H — Google review
Very very cool bar with the most incognito entrance you've ever seen! We visited the rooftop bar (there is an inside bar too) and the service was excellent. Extensive menu of cocktails (beautifully made) and spirits backed up with a few decent wines and a couple of beers. Great value for money considering the exclusivity and really good music too (old skool hip hop) 100% recommend

Nestled in the leafy suburb of Double Bay, Bibo Wine Bar is a contemporary gem that effortlessly combines a trendy vibe with upscale Mediterranean cuisine. With its dimly lit ambiance and dark wood interiors, this wine bar offers an elegant yet casual setting perfect for any occasion. Whether you're looking to indulge in a full tasting menu paired with exquisite wines or simply enjoy Portuguese-style snacks over good conversation with friends, Bibo caters to all dining preferences.
Definitely a 5 star experience. Food was amazing. Staff were great. The small size of the restaurant and bar gives it an intimate feel. We were there early at 6:15pm and the vibe continued to build as the evening progressed. The octopus was perfectly cooked and absolutely melted away. Sorry the only dish that I didn't take a photo :(

Seriously, one of the best wine bars / restaurants in Sydney. Love it here. 5 stars all round. Food is amazing and choices of European wines are plentiful to match the fine fare. Staff are super friendly and always welcome my son and I back with a smile, like we are old friends Thanks Jonathan, Jose and team.

Great food with excellent execution. Love most of what we had. Ambience was simply cosy. Food variety is quite unique as compared to most of other offerings in Sydney. The spatchcock was cook beautifully which paired with baby zucchini and very well dressed mignonette. Wine option was good too.

Exquisite food specially for those who have a savoury palate. Service was exceptional as I came here for an anniversary. They provided complimentary fish pate and served dessert that said happy anniversary. Will definitely be back for their cheese and wine next time.

Such a cute little vibe of a place! We were in the private dining room upstairs for a wine dinner, the balcony doors were open and it was a gorgeous night! Food is always tasty and fun here, service is always attentive and friendly. A solid offering in Double Bay.

The trendy and contemporary Woollahra Hotel offers a terrace bar and a French bistro with a curved wooden ceiling. The newly opened Vincent bistro at this establishment serves an indulgent baked comte custard that aims to delight every taste bud with its rich, creamy, and cheesy flavors. This tall, independent cylinder wiggles on its way to the table, adorned with chives and accompanied by a creamy froth and an onion soubise.
Very neat and modern new design of this pub makes you feel very relaxed . From very first moment you know you have found your perfect spot for a lazy long lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The menu is very attractive. Food that was brought out incredibly fast was sensational and just matched overall Fantastic experience in the pub bar. Next time we will try the restaurant upstairs. Compliments to WH.

Stop in for lunch 😁 and had a Chicken schnitzel. No parma on offer. The chicken was nicely cooked with panco crumb on it. A little over done but good. The katso sauce was very nice and made for a great change. Really enjoyed it. The chips were very good. Stayed hot but not seasoned. The salad was an Asian coleslaw and was finished with a coconut vinaigrette ( I have never had one before) and was delicious. Great to try and treat yourself with this dish. 5 out of 5 plates cleaned.

Had the most disgusting cheese burger of my life. That's a burger and the only bite I took and didn't even swallow.
Airik ( — Google review
We went here for Mother’s Day as we heard good things. The beef burger was really good as was the fried rice. The beef massaman could be better, the beef was a little tough and the flavour a bit bland. The venue is really nice, traditional pub but with a modern renovation. Lots of seating areas with some cosy spots for groups. There is a lift to the upstairs dining for elderly or people with mobility difficulty.

A recent dining experience at the Woollahra Hotel was worthy of a 5-star review. The recently refurbished front bar holds on to the amazing art decor style and heritage of the hotel which has been around since the 1930's. Plenty of beers on tap and a team of exceptionally skilled bar staff who made some of the best cocktails I've had in a while, highly recommend trying the gimlet. We moved up stairs to enjoy some of the Asian fusion dishes I had heard so much about. Chef Jordan and his team bring a highly elevated dining experience in a relaxed setting, the braised beef short rib and kingfish curry were the standout dishes of the night. A big thank you to the friendly and attentive team that hosted us, I highly recommend you check out the Woollahra Hotel and all it has to offer.
Justin D — Google review
I knew when I was invited to a pub in Woollahra that the food would be good but the food and venue at The Woolahra Hotel are the best I have visited in 2022 - we are only halfway through the year and I am calling this the venue to beat, and I have already planned my return!! ❤️💚❤️⁣ ⁣ 🍸🍸 Recently renovated and almost restored to its original state and look from the 1930s it has old school opulence down pat. We were greeted and served cocktails and entrees downstairs in the bar and the manager discussed the renovations including the poured terrazzo floors, they are so bloody good!! The waitstaff was incredible, regularly checking in on us and seeing to our every need, then after the entrees, we were led upstairs to dine on the outdoor terrace.⁣ ⁣ And we were mind blown at such incredible dishes. ⁣ ⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫...⁣ 🐟 STEAMED SNAPPER FILLET with soy, ginger, shallot, chilli & coriander - it was so delicately crafted and a pure delight to eat, I have thought about it regularly since my visit.⁣ ⁣ 🥘 The THAI GREEN CHICKEN with Thai eggplant, snake beans & baby corn was also marvellous and a beautiful winter curry and their BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIBS with pickled cucumber, Asian slaw, sambal mayo, and bao buns were the most tender ribs of all time - these are a favourite as you can load bao with them, but the fish won for me!⁣ ⁣ 🍷🍷 And when the mains arrived the manager brought us a wine that would pair perfectly and based on him seeing us order whites downstairs, this was exceptional service beyond anything required.⁣ ⁣ 🏆🥇🏆 I am returning soon and you need to stop what you are doing and head on in soon for a divine night. I took so many venue shots that I will post them tomorrow as stories probably. Huge thanks to the venue and the The Mint Partners for organising this sublime experience.⁣
Jason K — Google review
Good pub for drinks and food. The food had a good range although the chicken katsu was similar to chicken schnitzel with a sweet sauce. The portions could be larger given the price. Chicken katsu was $28 and the beef burger $27.

Wine bar
Wine cellar
Love, Tilly Devine is a charming and cozy bar located in the back alleys of Darlinghurst. It offers an extensive wine menu to accompany Italian nibbles in a speakeasy basement setting with rough timber interiors and small, low-lit tables. The bar is known for its friendly staff and $10 mini martinis and negronis during happy hour, paired with signature small plates like french onion dip, curbside Dutch carrots, and the 'Tilly Dog.'
Came in for a few bites and glasses during the happy hour, ended up staying until 8. The small plates were lovely, some light pickled treats preceding the pig’s head sausage which had a great snap and meaty flavour. I took great pleasure in attempting their, “identify the grape and region,” mystery wine game. I failed miserably but had great fun trying to justify my answer to the waiter. The place had a great buzz and had to get a bit more food so had a really well seasoned tartare before finishing the night off with a lovely PX sherry and a semillon dessert wine.
Patrick P — Google review
Great wine bar that opens late. Superb decor and vibes and friendly (if slightly distracted) staff. Good selection of interesting natural wines, including orange macerated. Would come here again for food if we ever find ourselves I the area again.
Colin C — Google review
Hidden in a lane, this is one of the top rated wine bars in Sydney. The wine selections for May allow you to order by the glass thanks to a partnership they’re having. Happy hour is 5-6pm, Mon-Sat (which is crazy to include a weekend! So good!) The service is top notch especially if you’re celebrating anything like a birthday. Food wise: lots of vego options, love the Gilda’s and the walnut mushroom pate (super creative!). Personally didn’t love the onion dip but there is a poignant after taste. The bread comes in 4, huge!
Emily — Google review
Situated in the back laneways of Darlinghurst it can be a little hard to find but is worth it when you do. The wine list is quite large and you can get some very nice wine but it is on the expensive side because of the quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is intimate and it is quite small. This is the perfect for dates and catching up with friends.
Casandra T — Google review
Great wine list. The Riesling was so great. Service was super sweet, everyone was kind. The food was good. The fish based dishes were better. However, the more solid dishes like the ribs and the tartare were ok. Not to say it wasn’t good but the tartare was very mustard forward so it was more of a personal preference. The atmosphere is great. I would stick to the smaller snacks like salami and trout dip. Also had an issue with the water bottle, which the staff was apologetic about but maybe should have been taken further then just a sorry. Super good date spot

The waitress who served us with tattoos possessed exceptional communication skills. She was well-spoken, attentive, and elegant. Her presence made us feel very comfortable, and she provided us with excellent recommendations. We were thoroughly impressed by her service and professionalism. The service we received was more remarkable than the food itself. We’ll return next time to provide more feedback on the food ✨❤️😎

Came here as a group of 6 and enjoyed their set menu. The food was quite delicious however I find it quite expensive especially for the quantity provided. I was particularly disappointed with the pasta dish where we had a plate (which small) to be shared between two. Our group left the restaurant feeling hungry. The service and wine was great though!

Aster, located at the InterContinental Sydney, offers an elevated drinking experience with its stunning 280-degree view of Sydney's iconic landmarks. The bar menu includes small snacks and share plates for those with varying appetites. Previously exclusive to hotel guests, Aster Bar is now open to the public, providing unparalleled views of the sunset over the harbor. Guests can enjoy special reserve Champagne or house cocktails while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
I had to book this in advance as it has the best top view of the Sydney Harbour. I was welcomed & served by the nice and kind waitress "Tiffany" throughout my visit. She was very helpful with suggesting menu items and her service was perfect till the last second! The Burrata dish was very tasty & I loved the combination with the citrus elements & the pickled zucchini. Moreover, I loved the NV Vinada sparkling Non-Al sweet wine which paired well with the food. To finish it up, I got the Citrus Tart & I loved the balanced sweetness and the finesse quality of it. Of course, the views from the top were the biggest highlight of the visit and it was hard to resist whether to keep enjoying the view or also keep taking as many photos as possible as it was totally fascinating! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit at Aster Bar in Intercontinental & would love to be back again when I visit SYD next time.

Beautiful roof top bar, loved the breathtaking view at the sunset.. night is magic up there. Loved our cocktails! Very elegant place, excellent service. Clean toilets. Definitely is a "coming back soon" bar.

We came here just before sunset and did not have a booking, but that did not matter. Actually it was pretty empty and not sure why. The views on Sydney harbour and Opera House are out of this world! Unfortunately my port wine that I requested was not available, as well multiple others. It would be great to update the menus to not disappoint customers.

Amazing experience at Aster! Kayahan’s service was impeccable, super friendly, attentive, and with an impressive mastery of the world of cocktails. Every drink was perfectly crafted and creative, you can really tell he’s passionate about what he does. Definitely a true professional who makes enjoying cocktails a complete experience. My husband and I went to the hotel for my wedding anniversary. Before heading to dinner, we went to the rooftop bar and had a great time there. The staff was very friendly and we were greeted with lovely smiles. It was a great bar with amaizng view overlooking the beautiful Sydney harbour with iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The atmosphere was great and relaxing. The coctails menu was impressive and sounds creative. All the cocktails we ordered were tasty too. They even gave us a complimentary lemon tart which was very tasty. Thank you! It was on a Public Holiday so there was a surcharge.

The Aster in the Club Lounge on level 32 of the InterContinental Hotel Sydney is truly something special. With panoramic views overlooking Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, and the Opera House, the setting is nothing short of breathtaking—one of the best vantage points in the city. From the moment you enter, the service is warm, polished, and attentive without being intrusive. The food is equally impressive, with beautifully presented dishes that are as delicious as they are refined. The high tea in particular is a standout—elegant, indulgent, and perfectly suited to the stunning surroundings. Whether you're visiting for a special occasion or just looking to elevate your Sydney experience, The Asteroid offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and unforgettable views. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

The Glenmore Hotel, located in The Rocks, Sydney, is a historic pub spread over three levels. It offers elevated fare, a cocktail bar, and a bustling rooftop with stunning views of the harbor. The rooftop provides clear vistas of the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, making it one of the best rooftop bars in Sydney. The hotel's heritage-listed building has undergone restoration to preserve its original features such as fireplaces and bars.
The staff are incredibly friendly. Service is very efficient. If you’re fortunate enough to get a table on the rooftop you’re doing very well. It’s such a popular place that’s a challenge to find a table up there but even so, sitting anywhere in this charming old pub is a pleasure.
Michael J — Google review
The Glenmore is one of my favourite places in Sydney for a casual team lunch — the rooftop atmosphere is amazing, the old-world décor adds real charm, and the plates are generous (the prawn toast was a standout). I often bring my team here, and the service is usually excellent. On our last visit, though, one team member’s meal arrived almost an hour after the rest of us. She was our new starter, which made things a little awkward. The staff did offer her a complimentary drink, which we appreciated, but when booking as a group we’d hope that meals are timed so everyone can eat together. Overall, still a fantastic venue I’ll continue to frequent, but group service could be tightened up.

The Glenmore hotel a stunning multi level venue perched between the Sydney harbour bridge and circular quay in the rocks over looking beautiful Sydney harbour from the rooftop terrace. With heritage charm and decor, Offering a range of tap beer, wines and spirits paired with a lavish menu with something for everyone. Food was hot and tasty, just bit inconsistent on arrival times. Hi tables and chairs in the direct sun can be a be uncomfortably as they get really hot so pick your seat depending on weather. Otherwise plenty of other indoor and outdoor options. Friendly staff, Fairly priced. Would recommend

A really nice rooftop bar with stunning views of the harbour. Perfect place to bring someone who is visiting Sydney. It offers a special view of the harbour and the Opera house. The staff are friendly and there is plenty of room, as it’s a large multi story venue. Arrive early if you want to get good seats on the rooftop though.

We had a great afternoon at the Glenmore where we had arranged to meet up with a bunch of friends. We had a room to ourselves close to the bar, for food was fantastic and service quick. Some of the food we had included the Glenmore bowl, chicken skewers, falafel bowl, barramundi and the fish sliders - so tasty. I highly recommend you book and take your our of towners there for the Sydney Rocks Experince. We will be going again.

We gathered our family of 20 to enjoy the outdoor seating, food, drinks, and atmosphere. Perfect place for a large family gathered in Sydney for a wedding. Great hangout place, food was really good, super friendly service. We loved it.
Mike U — Google review
Very disappointed… we booked a table for a drink and some snack and / or dinner. We requested a table close to the view. They reserved us 2 tables instead. A big one in the middle of the rooftop with no view and a second downstairs with even less view (or as the girl told us: “a view with a few lights of the city”. Excuse was that: “it’s going to pour in 10min and we can’t set you close to the view”. It actually rained only 3 or 4h later. We stopped at the handrail a few minutes to decide what to do and observe a bit the view, during that time, another staff asked us to move as they’re setting tables where we were standing as they have a venue…. So we then decided to leave as we understood they prefer give better service for people having a venue. If you can book a table to have a view over the harbour, I’d advise you to do it somewhere else. Also, no lift to access the rooftop.

As well being sat close to the bar Jonathan, Sean and Sujan were able to put on a show with their cocktail tricks and great entertainment. Highly recommend

So lucky this was our first stop after arriving to Sydney ! The rooftop view over Darling Harbour was absolutely stunning . On top of the lovely food and quick annd attentive service, we were treated to a lively dance show and a beautiful live violin play-along that really lifted the vibe. The Rook is a trendy rooftop bar located on York Street in Sydney's CBD. The space features reclaimed wood walls and colorful murals, creating an industrial yet vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're looking for after-work drinks or weekend hangouts, this enclosed rooftop destination offers a unique experience year-round. Indulge in their diverse menu, which includes lobster banquets, gourmet burgers, and cocktails from the seasonally updated blackboard menu.
We had a great time at the rook. It’s a hidden bar, no signs on the street, it’s an office building on level 7/roof, go up the lift and what a lovely surprise when you exit there is a beautiful flower walkway/arch into the bar. We had the buffalo chicken and lamb cigars both were amazing, we also had a few shots and cocktails, WAP and watermelon margarita were the best. Go early for happy hour 🍸🍸
Emily C — Google review
I've got to admit, the place was hard to find... If you miss the small sandwich board you have to check the wall showing who's in the building to locate the place... I guess it makes the place more of an adventure to find. Once up at the 7th floor you are greeted with a groovy entry corridor. At around 6:30pm on a Wednesday the place was quite busy. I was here on my own and initially my only option was a seat at the bar but was offered a table by a window as long I was willing to be done by 8:30 which was fine by me. QR codes were on the table making it easy to order. I originally decided to drop by here as the place was associated with the pass app and they had a pork schnitzel which was interesting looking. I ordered a beef taco, pork schnitzel and a couple of drinks... The drinks and food came out pretty quickly despite the place being quite busy. Beef taco was great. Pork schnitzel with fried egg, anchovies, capers and burnt butter sauce was OK...I wasn't a fan of the burnt butter sauce but that's just me. Overall a nice funky place.
Vas M — Google review
You don’t stumble into The Rook - you have to know it’s there. A blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sign leads you into a fairly anonymous building in the city centre. Take the lift to the top floor, walk through a floral arch, and you’re in. There’s a feeling you’ve found something - not quite hidden, but not shouting either. To start, I went with the truffle fries ($14). You can get the stripped-back version - no truffle oil, no parmesan - for $12, but you’d have to be wilfully joyless to do that. These ones were crisp, rich, and confident enough to justify the extra $2. For the main, the Pork Schnitzel Holstein ($35): a classic European situation; breaded pork, fried egg, anchovy, capers. A little history lesson: the Holsteiner schnitzel is named after a Prussian diplomat who liked his egg, anchovy and meat all on one plate, allegedly because he couldn’t be bothered with courses. Friedrich von Holstein: patron saint of the hungry and impatient. The schnitzel was as deliciously salty as you’d expect from something smothered in anchovies and capers. If you’re someone who snacks on capers by choice, you’ll love it. Hot, golden, unapologetic. I’d order it again. The rest of the menu looked solid. I was tempted by the yellowfin tuna tostada ($14) and the prawn roll ($31), but my friend ordered the schnitzel I had been eyeing, and I wasn’t emotionally prepared to make the wrong call and have food envy. One slightly odd touch: cartoons of Tom & Jerry and Pink Panther were projected silently onto the wall. It felt a bit out of place - like eating dinner inside a forgotten childhood memory. Not a dealbreaker, just a strange detail in an otherwise well-executed night. All up, The Rook is a good rooftop spot that rewards the effort of finding it. Sharp food, relaxed service, and the kind of place you leave already thinking about what to try next time.

The rooftop space is good but the food is just average. The mains that we ordered was all cold and not worth the price, I could only see lots of lettuce in my salad than the chicken. They are over pricey.
Sudha — Google review
The Rook is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the staff set the tone - welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest has a great time. Their professionalism and warmth make a real difference. The performances are outstanding - high energy, beautifully executed, and perfectly balanced between fun and sophistication. You can tell everyone involved loves what they do. The space itself is stunning. Intimate yet vibrant, with a great layout that keeps you close to the action without ever feeling crowded. The atmosphere is electric - every seat feels like the best in the house. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. A five-star experience from start to finish.

Bar Ombré Rooftop is a lively rooftop lounge located in Circular Quay, Sydney. It opened its doors in May 2019 and is presented by the popular Italian restaurant group, Salt Meats Cheese. The venue offers a laid-back and intimate experience with an eclectic mix of deck chairs surrounded by hanging palms and greenery. Great service, meal options and venue. They have performers during the evenings. #bar_ombre_sydney

Love the pizza and location! Sadly the venue has lessened the quality of their antipasti of late - what used to be a beautiful serving of calamari fritti is now a tiny side, and the salad options are limited and disappointing. Highly recommend visiting during happy hour, otherwise the spritz’s quickly add up 💸
Helena H — Google review
Went here for a drink and late-ish dinner. The drinks were nice and the antipasti platter and foccacia we ordered were fine. The drinks were quite expensive, as was the antipasti plate, partiucalely for the portion you get (it's ambitious to say that it would feed 2-3 people as stated on the menu). All round it's fine, and the atmosphere and views were nice, but I wouldn't hurry back.

‘Secret’ rooftop bar, tucked away at the back of a shopping mall. Very popular spot so it’s best to book in. We had two different pasta dishes, not spectacular but satisfying and reasonable value. Staff were helpful, professional and efficient. Definitely worth a visit, whether for a meal or a few drinks. I noticed there is a weekday happy hour.

This is a great bar , good atmosphere and food. The crowd is mixed ages and down to earth. In busy periods, booking is a must. The only issue is that there is no number to call if you need to make a last-minute change to your reservation. However, each time we visit, we have a great time.
Johana V — Google review
Bar Ombré Rooftop is no more than a casual bar & restaurant with partial views of the harbour bridge. The bar is located on level 3 in the gateway complex, which can be accessed via lift or stairs. Upon our arrival, there was lack of greeting from the staff nor do did they seem friendly in anyway. The menu offers typical bar food including antipasti (entree), pasta, secondi (main), sides, pizza and desserts. Because we had an entertainment book voucher we decided to get the 300g scotch fillet ($44), which offers a complimentary main when another one is purchased. To be honest without a voucher, I would not recommend the steak at all just because it’s pricey and for a bar steak which costs over $40 with no chips on the side except for a few asparagus sticks and a decent basil sauce. Our food took a while to be served, considering we were the first to arrive, they had us waiting for at least 20 minutes. We didn’t get a good vibe of the place the minute we walked in, there wasn’t even any music! Bar Ombré might be an okay place to gather for team lunches, but I wouldn’t take your date or hold a party here as it isn’t very pretty or have much of a view.

Good food. Service lacking. Average Ambience for a rooftop venue The pizzas and pasta was delicious. They are made by Salt Meats Cheese Restaurant located one floor below. The vibe is mixed. It is a covered Rooftop bar, where a very small area has a view of the harbour bridge. The place felt quite dirty and the music was very loud. The service was inattentive. We had to wait at the bar to get served when there were no other customers around but 3 staff members who just chat amongst themselves

7/6/25 - 3 stars A popular rooftop bar in Barangaroo with awesome views during daylight hours, but, it is seriously cold. Natural decor is nice and live DJ is appreciated. I can understand charging a service fee large groups, but, not when extra service is not actually rendered. Initially it was quite good as there were not many other customers, but, it became tricky to get a hold of staff shortly thereafter. Also, we asked about popcorn refills, which the floor manager agreed and I believe added it to our bill. Firstly, she didn't tell us it was not free like the first batch. Secondly, it never even arrived. Very disappointing. Overall, the drinks and food selection is decent. The espresso martini was very good and the main saving grace. Espresso martini Flavour: SS, 9/10. Not sure what the ratios of kahlua and vodka are or if there's even actual coffee in it, but, it's very smooth Consistency: SS, 9/10. Not watery at all.

Nice place & decore. Bar stools comfy & cushion. Recent menu changes. It’s very good. Beef skewers. I preferred the old Menus. Chicken drum sticks + fish eggs sauce + the maple fries + sauce + wagyu skewers. Chicken Karagee .Very light batter or not fried twice- lacked the zingy ginger to my liking - still good & good serving. Mild chilli paste ***** The beef wagyu skewers were very good. However the were left on the pass or plate not heated & came a bit warm to the table.

This is a really popular rooftop bar, and although there isn’t much of a view which you associate with rooftops it as a great atmosphere and is a brilliant place to relax with friends. Ordering of drinks is done through QR codes on the table rather than with menus but fortunately the service time is good. The bottomless brunches are such a vibe. I always leave in a terrific tipsy state that you don't always get from bottomlesses. I also had a surprisingly delicious lunch here on a work day. 100% put this one on your list. The vibes are immaculate in Spring/Summer for weekend lunches and as the sun sets 🌇 They also have an app called The Pass where you can earn points on your orders. Every bite fresh, tantalising and bursting with flavour. You could tell that each dish was created with care and precision, leaving us wanting more with every course. The drinks were equally impressive, thoughtfully curated and executed to perfection, complementing the meal beautifully. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the view and the energy of the space, especially on a Sunday night. It was everything you could hope for. Spectacular scenery, vibrant yet relaxed vibes and an overall feeling that you’re exactly where you are meant to be. Jōji Sydney is not just a restaurant, it’s an experience I can’t wait to have again.

We really enjoyed the food, cocktails and service at Joji. Only downside was that the music was way too loud to have a conversation across the table. We ordered the tasting menu to try a bit of everything and was not disappointed! The highlight was definitely the freshness of all the sashimis, loved the salmon belly nigiri and also the hibachi wagyu. The accompanying salad could use some improvement as it was too gingery and hard to eat. But other than that, all the food tasted fresh and came quickly.

First time coming here and the tasting menu was set to impress. Great location and vibe with a live DJ and atmosphere to match. The wagyu was cooked perfectly and highly recommend having some with wasabi as it pairs it perfectly. The cocktails are well done and flavours exotic. Highly recommend making a booking here to try! Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu 😋

I never knew that flying from Melbourne to Sydney for a holiday would give me an amazingly unforgettable night at Joji ✨ First impression of the venue was stunning with skyscrapers view in the heart of the CBD and its interior is gorgeous. Good taste in music playlist. The food was excellent, fresh and delicious. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive even though I was alone but they never left me lonely. The guy who was looking after me was very kind and informative and walked me through the menu thoroughly. After eating, I was so nervous to ask if he could put the candle on the dessert because it was my birthday. At first, I just wanted for photo but after they knew it, I felt happily overwhelmed by their service. Overall, highly recommend coming here if you want a nice bar with good service. I mean, they are GREAT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shoutout to the French guy (forgot to ask his name), Zenisha and all crew members for this valuable core memory and defo thanks for the complimentary drinks and mochi 🍷 🍡

A Spectacular Surprise at Joji Sydney 🥂 What a find! Last night (Monday) I was in the city with my good friend to celebrate her birthday. Our first-choice bar, which is Merivale-owned, was closed. We asked the staff there for recommendations, considering it was a Monday night. She mentioned that Merivale staff often go to Joji Sydney. We took her recommendation, and wow, wow, wow, this place was stunning, especially the outdoor seating area. We decided to sit outside, as it was heated, and the view of the city was amazing. We jokingly told the wonderful Charlie, who was serving us, that Joji was our "second choice" and that we were just looking for a drinks venue to celebrate my friend's birthday. We then ordered two rosés, and to our surprise and delight, they arrived with a coconut and taro ice cream mochi cake, complete with a candle and a card! It was such a wonderful touch! The card read: "We know that we weren't the first choice tonight but... sometimes the second choice ends up being the better surprise! Happy Birthday... We hope you enjoy the rest of your evening and get to be your first choice in the future! The Joji Team!" How cute is that?! They even recommended where we should go next. This is what I call amazing customer service. I will definitely be back with my husband and friends for a full dining "tasting" experience. Charlie was a star, but the whole staff was 10/10. Well done 👏👏👏

Had lunch at Joji Bar today — food was so good! The sashimi was super fresh and the wagyu beef cubes were really tasty. Nice vibe too, chill and comfy. Will definitely come back again!

The Royal Hotel Paddington is a popular multilevel venue located in the Five Ways district of Paddington. It features a swanky cocktail lounge, smart sports bar, and upscale pub grub. The highlight of this boutique space is its divine rooftop on the fourth floor, offering incredible views of the chic eastern part of the city and even the Harbour Bridge. It's an ideal destination to unwind after shopping along William Street in Paddington and enjoy a beautiful sunset with a cocktail in hand.
We went to this place for lunch because we got a deal on the EatClub app for discounted food and drink which was really good. My friend and I both ordered burgers and it was delicious. It'd be better if the dish goes with some sort of salad in my opinion though. It was during the week so there was only one or two other tables but the food did take a bit of time to arrive.

The staff were friendly and helpful, putting requested sport & commentary on the TVs when asked. The Sunday Roast looks the part, but sadly didn’t taste of much. Needs some work on the meat & gravy.

They seem short of staffs, but everything else is great! Drink is great, environment is great, great vibes sitting upstairs watching the five ways cars and people passing by.

Went to their truffle dinner and it was terrible. Chefs were so slow they took 3 hours to finish the dishes in the tiny course they had. Though because they are a pub they probably did it on purpose so you'd keep ordering drinks. Nothing tastes good. The first dish was a garbage over burnt bread. There were no truffles except for the 1 dish with meat which had a little. Asides from the truffle the meat dish tasted good, its why this gets a 2 star on food and not 1 star. For $180 you're honestly better off flushing $168 down the toilet, going to mcdonalds and getting a big mac for the remaining $12. Quicker service, better taste, and you aren't held hostage for 3 hours. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want a beer. I take good photos. Don't let them fool you into thinking those abominations tasted good. Meat one was ok though, apparently the chef was from a good restaraunt who cooked it, so no wonder.

I ordered the mushroom and halloumi burger and requested the vegan option. I was curious to see what would replace the halloumi - but when the meal arrived, it was literally just four slices of mushroom with some sauce in a bun. That’s it. It came with chips and still cost the full $26. To be fair, I didn’t think to ask what the substitution would be so that’s on me. But it’s also 2025. The bare minimum would’ve been to throw in some tomato, lettuce, or something to make it feel like a complete burger. Instead, it felt like the kitchen just removed the cheese and called it a day. If you’re going to offer a vegan option, please don’t treat it as an afterthought. It shouldn’t take much effort to create something that feels like a proper meal and not just a stripped-down version of the original. I actually like the Royal as a pub, it has a nice atmosphere and the service was really good so this is just super disappointing.

Nestled in the vibrant Potts Point area, Dear Sainte Éloise is a charming restaurant and wine bar that has quickly become a local favorite. During lockdown, they’ve introduced delightful weekly date night packs for just $65, featuring mouthwatering dishes like braised beef short rib and Paris mash. These limited-edition boxes can be conveniently picked up from their Llankelly Place location if you place your order by 2 PM.
An absolute stellar experience with the DSE team. Killer food (anchovy brioche is to die for and so are the frites!). Wine is also a banger. Loved playing their Mystery Wine glass game - $16 for the wine or free if you can guess the grape varietal and country of origin. Staff were so beautiful and lovely. Our waitress was so accommodating to give us a seat closer to the outside though we didn’t book. And, to really level up the Mystery Glass experience, she allowed us to try a Gamay from France which was what we guessed (it was quite far from the real wine!). Thank you for the generosity to even let us try the two to compare and develop out understanding of wine! Would come back in a heart beat and a must visit for food and wine lovers.

lovely wine bar in Potts Point, it is a bit of a dark alley to get to, so definitely travel in a group or pair. the oysters were okay not bad. The croquettes and beef tartare were nice and had a taste a bit reminiscent of a Big Mac. Decor was nice like a home, and the tables were well spaced apart so you aren’t speaking on top of others while still have a lovely atmosphere! The tuna crudo was nice I like the fruit alongside it! The mushrooms pasta was nice but definitely strong on the mushroom taste. The steak was juicy and the sauce went well, definitely recommend pairing it with the crunchy chips! The service we received was so good, we had a young blonde waitress that was very funny and energetic! She helped us with whatever we needed and made us laugh a lot! Definitely made our night amazing!

What a gorgeous wine bar with super friendly helpful staff and food and drinks to match. My partner and I have been meaning to have lunch here and it finally happened yesterday. My only regret is that it took so long to finally get here. While the food and service were perfect we really appreciated that service did not feel rushed and there was ample time between the courses. Highly recommend

I attended for my birthday. We were sat down to a delicious set menu. The flexibility of the staff to accomodate my group was on point, and very much appreciated. The service was matched perfectly with the food - it was delicious and portioned perfectly. The wine was a standout and Julius was on point with every recommendation. Second time attending and will continue to return.

Zeta Bar ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥at the Hilton Sydney is an incredible spot if you’re looking for a lively and stylish night out. The vibe here is truly amazing – it’s energetic, sophisticated, and filled with cool people. The $45 admission is well worth it if you’re looking to enjoy a premium nightlife experience. The crowd is diverse and fun, and yes, there are plenty of beautiful ladies and well-dressed people adding to the upscale atmosphere. While the space isn’t huge, the ambiance more than makes up for it. The music is fantastic, creating the perfect vibe for socializing and dancing. The DJ really knows how to keep the energy going, and the people here seem to enjoy every moment.🥳🥳🥳🥳 If you’re in Sydney and looking for a classy spot with great music, a fun crowd, and an electric atmosphere, Zeta Bar is highly recommended. It’s a great place to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy the night. Don’t miss it!

We came for a happy hour drink. The bar has a spacious lay out. The ambiance was relaxing with tables scattered it huge space. The negroni and martini would be your bet for stronger drink options. The rest of the drinks were too weak, tasted like a juice. $15 for a cocktails plus house wine and beer around 10 ish. Service was friendly.

Pandy D — Google review
The venue itself is amazing—the atmosphere is great and the drinks were really nice. However, the organisation and communication were quite disappointing. Firstly, the security at the entrance was not properly informed. We were attending a birthday party that was booked at Zeta Bar, but the security told us the event had finished and sent us downstairs, which turned out to be incorrect. It was very confusing and frustrating. Security staff should be well-informed about bookings and should greet guests in a welcoming and helpful manner. Secondly, inside Zeta Bar, we were told that after 10 PM, we couldn’t use the main dance floor as it was part of a private booking. If that’s the case, guests who booked other areas should be clearly informed ahead of time. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose of buying drinks and having our own reserved couches if we can’t even enjoy the music and dance. The space is beautiful, but better organisation and clearer communication with guests would make the experience much more enjoyable. We hope this improves so others can make the most of their Saturday night. Thank you

I found staffs are not the most friendly and welcoming. Specially worst security guards. They judge you by your appearance. I was stopped by the lift and was asked how many drinks I had for no reason by an Indian unwelcoming guard. I didn't even had 1 drink and didn't look intoxicated, they need more training 🙃. There was no reason for him to stop me, despite I understand its his job but I don't think I deserved that kind of treatment.

Imperial Hotel Paddington, also known as the Impy, is a popular rustic-chic pub in Sydney. It gained fame from its appearance in the movie 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' and is a prominent fixture in Sydney's gay nightlife scene. The venue hosts drag shows, themed nights, and events like drag trivia on Tuesdays and Felicity and Friends performance on Fridays.
What an adorable pub! We went in for a classic pub meal and got exactly what we hoped for. I finally got to try the schnitzel parmi, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was charming, with the feel of a traditional old-style pub. There were quaint staircases and cozy nooks, adding to its sweet and quaint vibe. I especially enjoyed chatting with one of the local ladies; she was an absolute gem. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Food is pretty decent. Kitchen staff are lovely. Bar staff are okay but need to smile every now and again. As for the pub itself, only one word describes it - Soulless. They used have open fires in the colder weather. Now it's just cold in general, cold and soulless. Close the stadium for the footy.

I am a tourist in Sydney and didn’t expect much of the food in a pub, thinking about my experiences visiting pubs in the UK but this pub proved me wrong. It was the best steak I have had during my trip (and my husband said best chips he has ever had), even the mash potatoes and vegetables were exceptional and the service was very good too!

Edmund Resch’s own pub is one of the best. Having dined here numerous times, the food is always good and the Reschs always cold. The service has always been friendly. The after game drinks are great, even for a Rabbitoh! Recommended.
Daryl S — Google review
I appreciate the pub is busy after a game but I would never return. The pub owners/managers clearly do not plan for sports matches and it shows. I came after a game at Allianz Stadium (41k in attendance) and waited for 35 minutes to order drinks at the main bar. 1 of their 3 payment terminals didn’t work and in terms of staffing they had 4 staff to cover the entire bar which is not nearly enough. Further, the single staff member on the side of the bar the bouncer forced (seriously) us into was not trained at all. They made mistakes on every order (every customer was raising this) with my own missing an entire drink and another beer being the completely wrong brand and type despite me repeating it twice and pointed to it right in front of me. None of us said anything as we honestly felt sorry for them being put in this situation when they clearly weren’t ready. Would not return nor recommend.

With four bars both inside and outside, visitors can savor Middle-Eastern mezze plates or chargrilled chicken while taking in the incredible views of the beach and ocean.
Fantastic bar with incredible views down over the beach and sea. The atmosphere is brilliant with the music and there’s a decent mix of seating including stools along the edge wall. Service from the bar is quick and prices reasonable given the prime location. One of my favourite spots in the area!

Great location. Thought we would kick off my birthday treat week with a large sushi platter. Disappointed it only fed one person instead of two. Paying the equivalent for a sushi platter to share in Melbourne would have been more than ample for two. Not satiated in the least. Plus we opted to sit at the window bench which meant table service wasn’t an option for us. We had to place our own order at the bar. Such an odd and random rule especially when there were so many staff on the floor. The breeze sitting in the front window was lovely though so well worth the effort to place our own order at the bar to enjoy the view of the world passing by. And the view across the road is one of the most spectacular in Australia.

Went there after the Bondi to Coogee walk, and the atmosphere was great. They have loads of food options in the pavilion, and the rooftop was a very nice environment (should be even better when the weather is good). My friends had a beer while we chatted on the inside part of the rooftop and it was very nice :)

Well , I might sound old. But in my 31 years of life I have never been asked to leave an establishment. Lovely spot for early evening and sunset, especially from the top outdoor area. Lovely sea views of you get a good seat. Nice drinks selection and the food was excellent. The table waiting staff were friendly/smily. However, as happened previously, during our meal, a member of staff wanted to take down our sunshade parasol. It was still hot and sunny. Previously we declined but the guy insisted and literally climbed to kneel on our table, next to our food and drink, and reached over us in order to pull down the shade. This was despite our objections. All the bits of sand, dust, tree fall, bird droppings etc etc which had gathered on the parasol during the day dropped down into our drinks, food etc. And the staff just shrugged! This second time we were approached, again sun out, food just about to be delivered, maybe 5pm time. I refused as our food was about to arrive. 20mins later, same guy reappeared saying his manager had told him to take it down "for cameras". This time I refused again, as I didn't want the same bad experience as before. 10 mins later, just as we were finishing, a different man was sent, and just literally removed the parasol infront of us. Luckily we'd finished eating. I asked to speak to his manager but no one came forward. I informed him, this was very very poor customer service. The reason was "cameras and security"....yet these still exist all afternoon, so what happens early evening that's different. They should consider either not having any parasols full stop, or have a policy of only taking them down on an empty table. For these reasons, I wouldn't go back.

Went here for lunch after spending some time at Bondi Beach. The view from the rooftop was spectacular -- the beach and the Dunningham Park. Loved the flat bread, hummus and lamb belly and paired them with a glass of shiraz. Enjoyed the sea breeze gently touching my face. 😊 Certainly an awesome place.

Perfect location and great vibe. Unfortunately, the cocktails need an overhaul. For the prices you are paying, I would expect better quality alcohol used for mixes. Expresso Martini is not made with fresh coffee, and most fruit cocktails are extremely syrupy. Yes, a little snobby, you may think, but after walking out paying over $500 entertaining a few clients, I was slightly shocked. Or maybe my boss will be when I put in my expenses. Either way, stick to your wine and beer at this location. Great view is where my 3 stars support. It was worth an experience.

Terrible service, we were celebrating a birthday, they did not ask for plates for the cake, we had to ask to please bring plates, which was obvious if they see us with a cake, I ordered a cocktail and was waiting and melting in the bar and none of the waiter staff took it and brought to my table, my boyfriend had to go to the bar and bring it to me! Lovely vibe, location, decor, very relaxing place to meet up with friends and be able to sit and talk. Bar snack selection was great, staff very attentive. The ambiance reflects la dolce vita, creating a warm and inviting space perfect for socializing.
What a great wine bar! They seem to focus on excellent wines from Eastern Europe and the Balkans, along with a few Australian wines, and every wine we tried was exceptional! Great place to chill and hang out with friends or even a date, especially if you're around the area. It's off the main stretch of hustle and bustle, which I appreciate. The decorations are very well done, making them feel more like a wine lounge than a restaurant. Some may even feel like it's a wine club. Offerings wise, they do have some great wines and bubbles, whether in bottles or in glass. The folks running the show are pretty good with their recommendations, in case any of you need help while on a date. Alternatively, you'll not go wrong with wine and cheese. Because of everything mentioned above, it's definitely not one of those that I'd consider value-for-money. You'd pay a slight premium to enjoying all these slightly more luxurious treatments from the crew.

Awesome rooftop bar, with a roof that opens and beautiful views over Darling Harbour. We enjoyed a great night out with colleagues, taking some high tables and enjoying the drinks and bar food. Great place to come with friends and workmates, both in small and larger groups. We’ll be back!

Had a great experience last Saturday night having booked the rooftop for an engagement party. The food was lovely and plentiful, the staff were fantastic and the venue itself was large enough to create a dance floor for those that wanted to dance but still plenty of areas for guests to sit, drink and chat if they wanted to. The Functions team were also very helpful with planning and advice. I would definitely recommend this venue as a great location for celebrations and events.

We had our work event here and absolutely loved it! Thank you to Kelli who helped us with the booking. The evening was seamless from start to finish, the staff was superb and took excellent care of us. A special thanks to Leo and Tom who were behind the bar. The hospitality industry is challenging industry to work in, but seeing how the staff went above and beyond with the service and liaised with me so well was fantastic to see. Food arrived quickly and was fresh and delicious, shoutout to the gentlemen (sorry didn't catch your name) who spoke with me throughout the evening on when I wanted the food to arrive and didn't have us wait around guessing when it would arrive. We got a spot on The Rooftop and it was gorgeous during sunset. Many of my colleagues really loved this place, we will definitely be recommending this venue to other clients and hopefully will be back soon!

Our business held a Corporate Function on the Rooftop at The Shelbourne Hotel and could not have had a better experience; from the initial planning, great pre-communication, exceptional set up and fabulous service on the day. I could not have asked for more. The staff and space were great! I would highly recommend using any of the Function Spaces at The Shelbourne Hotel

Atmosphere is great but their service needs improving. Took half an hour for 2 cocktails on a quiet night. Was told it would be 5 minutes, then 10, then another 10. Some food items need Improving such as the garlic bread, tasted like burnt dough.

The Coogee Pavilion Ground Floor is a popular destination offering a variety of dining and entertainment options. The venue spans three floors, featuring a rooftop terrace with multiple bars, a family-friendly restaurant known as 'the Pav,' and an exclusive rooftop bar for adults. The expansive rooftop terrace provides stunning views of Coogee Beach and offers a diverse menu inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes, cocktails, and chilled beers in the lush greenery of the spacious patio.
I visited today after a long walk from Bondi Beach and found this place really welcoming, with part of the kitchen in view and the wood-fired pizza ovens on display. I tried a pizza that I customized myself (which is possible here) and it was very good — I was really satisfied. The staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended, although in my opinion the prices are not the lowest

Amazing Pizza. My wife had the baked sweet potato. I had the Diavola pizza. It's pricey but delicious. Good friendly service and a really great ambiance. Loved the vibe.

Second visit here, good for kids due to the back of the first floor having space for them to play & run around a bit. Good pub food, although seems expensive my fish & chips was $32, kids meals are $22. But the food is cooked well & came fairly quickly considering it was busy Huge venue lots of space over three levels, but after 1pm you see it get busier still. Located on the corner near the beach, lots of parking around although you have to get there crack of dawn as it fills up quickly. Would recommend a visit 😊

The Forestiera pizza was absolutely delicious! Even the simple salad was surprisingly tasty and fresh. The only downside at least for me was how loud and noisy the place was. Other than that, great food and great service!

Went here with a friend for a Sunday lunch. As spring starts to appear , the birds ;) flock… roosters crow in the might of Sydney roosters area. Coogee pavilion offers a great range of food from your pub steak to your posh ceviche. We had a range of amazing foods. Beers on tap - cold crisp and icey Food - on point not to pricey Service - quick , vigilant and dicey I’ll definitely be back for a few more Sunday sessions ! The boys on the door also good lads - know them from a few other venues.

French restaurant
Fine dining restaurant
Felix is an elegant and sophisticated brasserie that offers traditional French cuisine and features a seafood bar and stunning chandeliers. It is considered a valuable player in the hospitality industry, known for its magnificent ambience created by French imported chandeliers and an impressive wine collection. The restaurant's unique setting includes an iced fish display, French baguettes, and a lively atmosphere.
From start to finish, Felix Bistro and Bar delivers an absolutely incredible dining experience. The attention to detail is evident, beginning with the complimentary bread paired with perfectly crafted, tasty French butter—an understated yet delightful start that sets the tone for what’s to come. Moving on to the entrées, the beef tartare was a highlight: flavorful and expertly prepared, though I personally could have done with fewer baby capers. The kingfish crudo was nothing short of immaculate. Its refreshing taste, paired with a perfect balance of fresh tomatoes, capers, and a beautifully light sauce, was a standout. When it came to mains, the lamb was exceptional. It was tender, with a perfect balance of flavors; the sweet capsicum accompaniment elevated the dish to new heights. But the true star of the day was the Wagyu Filet Mignon—cooked to utter perfection, seasoned masterfully, and an absolute testament to the chef's expertise. Even the sides did not disappoint. The baby carrots, paired with a divine (though indescribable) sauce, were a lovely complement to the dishes and delicious in their own right. To top it all off, Felix boasts an extensive wine selection, ensuring there's the perfect pairing for every dish. The staff here deserve special mention as well—they were attentive, always on hand to refill water with a smile (and humor), and truly made the experience warm and welcoming. Overall, Felix Bar and Bistro is a rare gem. The food, the service, the atmosphere—it’s all immaculate and outstanding. Highly recommended! 🍷✨

the service was amazing, the waitress was incredibly helpful and friendly. the food was absolutely amazing. the portions looked small at first, but the two of us were stuffed at the end. meat is halal as mentioned by the waitress. we ordered the lamb rump with roasted capsicum and they went so well with each other. the scallops were refreshing and balanced everything out. please do not leave without trying their desserts, the chocolate tart was a perfect balance of rich and smooth and crunchy. we loved everything about the place and will be returning for sure!

Had an amazing experience at Felix Bistro and Bar! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was spot on. Service was attentive and our waitress was genuinely lovely, which made the evening even better. The bill came to $156, and it felt well worth it considering the portions and quality. Definitely recommend this place if you’re after great French food in Sydney!
Airil N — Google review
Let’s start with service, our waitress who was amazing a little Italian Pocket Rocket. The other waiters and waitresses need to be taught how to work in a restaurant. Cutlery being dropped everywhere, plates being broken. You have waitresses carrying in big bundles of table clothes and when rushing through the restaurant and knocking over the metal lamps on the tables. Now again our pocket rocket was unreal. Now the atmosphere really nice except a couple tables of hero’s that wanted to crack onto the single females, wish people would just sit at there table and eat. Now for the food, really good, really nice flavours, was it worth the price. Not really you are paying for a 5 star experience and really not getting it. expect to be paying a lot.

Have dined a few times, food and service is great. The artichoke and prawns are my favourite entree. We tend to stick with the chicken, and a fish option for the main. We also went with the special of the day, which was a duck dish. All cooked to perfection. The highlight though is the passionfruit souffle and the creme brulee. Highly recommend.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been too. The food is so delicious and it is quality. I ordered the Gnocchi and Artichokes. Hands down, the best Gnocchi I have ever had. The desserts were to die for. I enjoyed Profiteroles and Creme Brûlée. The staff were incredibly kind and so good. They were quick, and always asked us if everything was okay. A special thanks to Michaela, Meenakshi and Nevan. I will be coming back 100%. Thankyou so much.
Rashi S — Google review
Felix French bistro used to be good, currently I’m unsure of why the quality of food is going down. Mignon steak which is not tender and juicy as before waitstaff have attitude towards consumers. According to service and food is lacking of consistency.
Isabelle L — Google review
Hands down, the best steak I’ve ever had. We ordered one of the chef’s special steaks of the night, and it was absolutely incredible — perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and you could really tell how much care and skill went into the preparation. When I’m next visiting, I will definitely be back. This restaurant has set a new standard for what a great steak should be, and it’s easily one of my new favourite spots. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates top-quality food and impeccable service.

Writing this review purely because our waitress was absolutely phenomenal. Georgie made our evening, her energy was amazing and she was so knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. She organised a birthday brownie and sparklers for us on the house, and made the dinner everything and more. Highly recommend The Winery for the food and atmosphere but if you get Georgie as your waitress then you are in for a treat!

I would recommend The Winery for a casual lunch or dinner with friends or family. You can sit inside, on the deck or in the garden. I really enjoyed my fish, it was fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was satisfying and I loved sitting on the deck facing the garden. It is a lovely spot for a lunch or a glass of wine anytime of the day. The Quatre Vin organic rose from Provence is a valuable addition to a wine list. It is available by the bottle only, but so easy drinking that one glass is never enough! I will be back, thank you.

Came for Melbourne Cup Day and dined upstairs with the food and drink package. We had a large group booking and the team upstairs were fantastic. We ordered plenty of drinks both on and off the package menu, and the bartender had everything coming out super quickly. Bentley Restaurant + Bar offers upscale Modern Australian cuisine and an acclaimed wine list in an industrial-chic luxury hotel setting. Helmed by industry veterans chef Brent Savage and sommelier Nick Hildebrandt, the restaurant boasts smart plates with interesting flavor combinations, such as kangaroo tartare with sunflower seed and heirloom cabbage. The menu features top-quality Australian produce, with a raw & cured selection to start and a concise bar menu for more casual occasions.
Had an absolutely fantastic experience at Bentley Restaurant. The food was exceptional. every dish was creative, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Honestly, it was worth every dollar, and I’d say it offers better value than most fine dining spots in the city. I’ve tried Bennelong before, and while it was great, Bentley definitely stood out more for me in terms of both food quality and overall experience. A big shoutout to Veronica for her outstanding service. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the evening feel special. Also, thanks to Linda for being so friendly and helpful during the booking process. From start to finish, everything was seamless. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We had lunch here the service was great and impeccable. The food was slightly underwhelming for me as I found my main fish consomme was too salty for my taste, duck was beautiful though would expect a slightly bigger portion size and our entree of quail and sashimi was alright. The dessert left quite an impression on me though I find the Sweet Potato dessert to be quite interesting and well balanced. The chocolate slightly too rich for my taste. Overall food was a 3/5 should commend our waitress though she was very lovely.
HT T — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience at Bentley Restaurant. We chose two tasting menus – one vegan with wine pairing and one vegetarian with a non-alcoholic pairing – and both were outstanding. The sommelier did a fantastic job with recommendations, and the pairings elevated every dish. A special mention goes to the yuzu wine/sake, which was a true standout. Our waitress was warm, friendly, and made the evening feel even more enjoyable. What surprised us most was how four hours flew by without us even noticing – the pacing and atmosphere were perfect. Every dish was creative and beautifully presented; even the pumpkin dish (the one my wife was most skeptical about) turned out to be one of her favorites. Desserts were equally impressive, both in taste and creativity. Overall, Bentley offers a wonderful vibe, inventive cuisine, and thoughtful pairings. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

I came here with my friends tonight to celebrate my birthday and we had such a lovely experience. The interior was beautiful, a little dim but it gave the place an intimate atmosphere. The spacing between tables was perfect for having private conversations without feeling crowded. The staff who attended to us was fantastic. I didn’t get her name but she took the time to explain the menu and checked in on us throughout the night. My friends and I all agreed that the food was great. We all had a wonderful time :)
Lisa — Google review
Came here on a quiet lunch day and had the tasting menu which included four snacks, three entrée dishes, main dish served with sides, and dessert. The snacks were ok, probably my least favourite part of the course. Entrees were better; tuna paired with golden kiwi was an interesting combination but worked well; calamari was very soft and the clear broth was light and fragrant; roasted quail meat was tasty but not fond of the pungent duck liver parfait. For the main dish, the wagyu rump cap was perfectly cooked with a nice sear; meat was tender and marbled without being too fatty. Finished with the dark chocolate custard and hazelnut ice cream dessert which was decadent and tasty but the highlight was the candy sweet, chilled and refreshing honeydew ice cream with melon. The course took around two hours to finish and the service from the waitress was exceptional; very friendly and attentive.

The venue is praised for its accommodating staff who go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Despite the lively atmosphere with loud music, the friendly service and diverse menu options including choices for kids, vegans, and vegetarians make it a popular choice.
Book the place for a group event. The team enjoyed the experience. The booking process was super simple, one quick phone call was all it took to start the process. Staff were super responsive and helpful. Would recommend to give them a go for your group dinner events. Food was delivered quickly and hot (pictured is helmsburger) - recommend booking for large groups - the bar is also the place to order food

Helm Bar & Bistro offers a lively atmosphere, though it can be a bit too loud for a relaxed catch-up with friends. The music was just instrumental, but it was challenging to hold a conversation and hear each other clearly. The food was decent, with some standout dishes. The pizza was particularly tasty, but the grilled fish could use some refinement; the sauce was overly sour and salty. On the positive side, the drinks were enjoyable and well-prepared. While the staff were friendly, they seemed a bit overwhelmed, and there were moments when communication could have been clearer. Overall, it was an okay experience, but with a few improvements in ambiance and service, it could truly elevate the dining experience.🙂🙂🙂

Ordered from the QR code on the table. They have 2 prices listed, member and guest which is a little dearer. Signed up for membership and placed an order. The menu does show guest pricing even if you have logged into the app but will deduct the cost before making the payment. Ordered: 1. Garlic bread - good quantity 👍🏻 2. Potato wedges - Okay since they had pototoes that weren't good. Could have been crispier. 3. Kids schnitzel and chips - the best dish of the lot. Fresh and crispy. 👍🏻

Came here with family only because we had vouchers, I’ve always wanted to eat around these here parts but I think I was late to the party, the atmosphere isn’t what is used to be years ago. Prices were ok I guess for darling harbour, the food came out super quick and we had no complaints. I still can’t get my head around how these places charge almost $5 for a glass of coke and yet charge $7 for a beer….. we made a booking which was bonus to be able to do, arrived early and were seated straight away.

The Butler in Potts Point is a stylish and charming restaurant offering Ibero-American cuisine and creative cocktails. Head Chef Amber Doig brings her expertise in Mexican/Ibero-American cooking, with dishes like 12-hour braised lamb barbacoa and adobo skirt steak. The restaurant boasts a large, leafy terrace with panoramic views of the Sydney skyline, making it a popular spot for long lunches, date nights, or enjoying cocktails like the Spiced Orange Espresso Martini.
The Butler came highly recommended to us, and we are so glad it was, definitely lived up to the hype. Classy and understated, with an amazing view, and surrounded by plants so you don't feel like you are in the middle of bustling Potts Point. The food was sensational. We opted for the banquet which was great bang for your buck. Delicious flavours, nothing disappointed! And contentedly full without feeling overstuffed. Service was friendly and attentive. A fab little restaurant and we hope to go back soon!

Epic food, views and service. Think fabulous lunch or dinner with friends, family or take someone special here. Tables of all sizes, my recommendation is to dine in the covered terrace area as it’s closer to the views. If you prefer to be inside in aircon ask to be seated away from the stairs. There is also a bar area upstairs. We had the set menu and all of the food fabulous, prawns are served butterfly style, steak amazing, entrees special and the deserts awesome. The cocktails and wine menu offer good choices. It’s a beautifully appointed restaurant and has a sophisticated vibe about it. Service is excellent but not intrusive. Bathrooms lovely. There are stairs to get down to the restaurant so that is a consideration around mobility. Feel confident with this restaurant delivering a very good dining experience. MCA cafe is a great place to enjoy views of Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The cafe is situated on the fourth floor of the MCA Museum in The Rocks. It offers coffee, wine, share platters and salads. It is open Wednesday 5pm-9pm.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A stunning view of the harbour and Sydney Opera House. My baguette was delicious. Not toasted is best. Service would have been 5 stars, but we had to order via QR code from our table. Overall amazing location and great casual cafe. We will be back.

I had heard such great things about the MCA Cafe and was looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. I ordered the ham and cheese toastie as did some of my friends. Although there were a number of premade sandwiches in the window, service was slow, and it took quite some time for our toasties to arrive. My other friends who ordered different items had just about finished their meal when ours arrived. Drinks were also finished way before the meals arrived. My toastie was cold in the middle, and the cheese was not melted properly. I did not speak to staff about it, though, because it took a while to come, and we were under time constraints to get back. We also noticed a discrepancy in the size of sandwiches, with mine being smaller. The toastie was filled well, but to me, it tasted bland. It was so unfortunate because the view, location and atmosphere are really nice.

I had the cauliflower soup and it was absolutely delicious!!! I put 3 stars for service because coffee came out last which I found was a bit weird! My soup was delicious but my husband ordered the lamb pie and he said it was cold and it wasn't great! Overall, I enjoyed it!

Great view to Opera House with ferries, people and grass! very good and calm cafe shop those want to rest after long walkings. Also good for a morning coffee before starting the day having a coffee near museum also keeps you good mood

Small selection of food but lots of staples if you want a quick bite and aren’t too fussy. Cinnamon cruffin and coffee, bacon and egg roll had a nice runny egg and was satisfying with the bbq sauce. Nothing to complain about, had indoor and outdoor seating too
Judy — Google review
I sent back my $15 ‘fresh’ chicken sandwich twice as the Wonder White bread was clearly stale. Waiter told me it was fresh but I’m sure this had been pre-made and left out to dry up. Finally I suggested it got toasted which is not ideal for a sandwich with lettuce. It was pleasant sitting watching people but the location was so much better on the previous top floor. 11.5% weekend surcharge also ridiculous ! The wine by the glass was good and reasonably priced.

Views food coffees Good cafe overlooking the opera house and harbour bridge in a cafe with coveted and uncovered areas to sit in. Opportunity to get some great photos as set up high without the cost of paying for fine dining. We had the ploughman platter and cauliflower salad. Self service order at counter. Good location as you can combine this with looking around the art gallery and other iconic attractions. Love your local guide -M❤️ Please follow me I need your support.

My go-to lunch spot when I’m in circular quay. The best service and good tasty food. Sometimes it’s crowded, sometimes it’s not. Decent prices for that area and good quantity. If I’m the MCA museum with unmatched views. If the cruise ship is not there, you can harbour bridge and Opera House.

Monopole is an elegant European restaurant and wine bar that offers a sophisticated dining experience. The menu features modern European cuisine, including cheese platters and a variety of classic dishes such as river trout terrine, caramelised eschalot tart, poached fish quenelles, duck burger, and chocolate mousse. The restaurant boasts a 500-strong boutique wine list curated by renowned sommeliers Zoe Brunton and Nick Hildebrandt.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with a small group on a weeknight. The restaurant is small and divided into a couple of little spaces so it felt intimate and quiet - perfect for catching up! We got the $90 set menu which include 4 courses served family style. The staff were accommodating to a few dietary requirements which were served seamlessly with the rest of the meal. Our favorite dishes were the pate, and the duck. The Calvados cake dessert was delicious!
Mel J — Google review
Came here for lunch and everything i ordered was phenomenal! I was originally unsure about the duck burger however after i tried it, i was so happy i decided to order it. Dont skip on the mash potato too!! It was so soft and creamy, heavenly!
Rebecca S — Google review
Ah monopole, we did the full course menu. Hats off to the staff, they were friendly and very accomodating with a great smile. My friend doesnt eat pork and the chef happily changed it to fish which was delicious and pretty awesome. The butter in my opinion isnt good. Somethings a miss. Maybe isnt french enough. And the finale, dry aged duck. Felt like Ive tasted this somewhere before. Another restaurant’s specialty. Duck and orange menus are quite overrated. The meat was cooked really perfectly though. With all of that, Id say 4 stars!

11/10 would recommend to anyone!!! Food was so delicious. We got the 5 course menu and split it between 2 people and we both left completely full of food.

So glad we got to celebrate Davo’s birthday @monopole before they close in the next couple of days. David said it might be the best French restaurant he has tried ❤️ Every dish was amazing, but our favourite was the yellowfin tuna, absolutely delicious. 1️⃣ Oysters 2️⃣ Abrolhos Scallops, Cauliflower, Black Truffle 3️⃣Yellow Fin Tuna, Olives, Plum, Crème Fraîche 🥰 4️⃣ A.P. Bakery Sourdough Baguette, Cultured Butter 5️⃣ Pork Croquette, Mustard, Cucumber Velouté 6️⃣ Dry Aged Duck Breast, Silverbeet, Blood Orange 7️⃣ Mixed Leaves, Pickled Eschallot, Mustard Dressing 8️⃣ Baba, Rhubarb, Chantilly 9️⃣ Espresso

Situated in the side streets of the CBD, Monopole is a great French restaurant to try. The menu isn’t large, but what is on there is yummy and full of flavour. There was 4 of us so we got to try a number of dishes which included the Duck Liver Parfait, Pork Croquette, Faux-Fillet de Boeuf which was cooked perfectly. The highlights were Vol-au-vent de Poulet et Crustacé, which is quite large, full of flavour and can easily be a main along with Boudin Blanc de Homard which was my favourite dish, the Marron sausage was so light and just delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. The wine list extensive and some really great cocktails to try. There were a number of regulars so you can tell they must be doing something right. We will definitely be back.

Even though we pushed the boat out on an excellent bottle of wine *1979 grand cru The total bill was very reasonable. Would highly recommend for business lunches or just a damn good feed in the CBD

The Paddington pub is a trendy bistro that offers elevated fare such as cocktails and wine, plus happy hour and Sunday roast. The rotisserie chicken and chips partnership is their trademark, but the menu features plenty more casual dining options like juicy lamb rump.
It was my husband's birthday today, and we decided to stop by for a quick drink in the afternoon. We decided to book a table for dinner with our daughter, as it had been a while since we dined here. Opting to sit outside due to the pleasant weather, we were delighted by the amazing food. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my fish dish, and the service was top-notch. We look forward to returning soon!

I had two lovely meals there: the food was very well prepared with great ingredients. The service was solid. Sitting upstairs for a Sunday lunch, the volume and atmosphere was perfect. On Thursday night the noise was too high and we had trouble hearing each other, though the vibe was good.
Douglas B — Google review
Situated on Oxford Street, this is a great pub/restaurant. There is a happy hour but you have to drink in the bar area to get the cheaper prices. The servings are quite large with the half serving of chicken and duck easily feed 2 people. The schnitzel was yummy but suggest to get fries with it if you want potatoes with your meal. It isn’t cheap but the food is great and the service is friendly and helpful.
Casandra T — Google review
From the moment I stepped inside, I could feel the magic in the air. The ambience was divine, every detail thoughtfully curated, and the drinks were absolute perfection—crafted with skill and flair. Food was on point, the duck was juicy, and pork was incredibly tasty and skin crispy. It is an amazing venue that truly delivers an unforgettable experience. Staff was so very warm and welcoming 🙏

The Sunday roast is always on point here, I had it now on several occasions and it definitely it’s the spot. The atmosphere is pumping and vibing. Definitely a must try 🤩
Didy M — Google review
We went to The Paddington with a party of five for Sunday dinner. I expected great things having read the online reviews and been in for a quick look. The decor is very cool and the atmosphere is excellent. However, the food was average at best. The roast pork was - literally - 80% fat and the swordfish steak was thin and fairly tasteless. The beef was ok but, like everything else, absolutely not worth the $45 price. The veggies were good and plentiful although the broccolini was undercooked. Also, the waitresses couldn’t seem to care less about us. The service was effective but perfunctory. Overall the meal was a big disappointment and definitely not worth the money. There are many other places in Paddington where you can get a better experience for the same price or less. Not recommended I’m afraid.

The establishment has evolved into a high-end dining experience under the guidance of chef Matt Moran, offering a more casual menu in its classical front bar with craft beers on tap. The sociable wood-flanked booths are perfect for a quick lunch, lazy dinner, or after-work drink.
Always a pleasant experience at the Paddo Inn. Had the Sunday roast and was completely impressed by the portion size. Great atmosphere with a jazz band - engaging duo with a lively audience. Lots of different break out areas within the bar and an inside smoko area. A great local with friendly staff, come with friends for, watching live sport or watch the world go by on Oxford Street.
JJ C — Google review
Mixed feelings about the Paddo Inn. We ordered via the app on the table and two of our orders arrived in the expected time, the third order was lost somewhere and almost an hour to sort out. The order receipt was provided various staff and we were told numerous times either the kitchen was busy to the order never went through the to kitchen. The steak finally arrived and it was good and they did comp, but still, not the best service in trying to sort out the order. The schnitzel were a decent meal but they there lukewarm at best and the chips were bordering on cold. The pub is nice and has a warm atmosphere but the indifference of the staff doesn’t scream ‘come back’. Overall disappointing.

I had an amazing experience a few days ago! The atmosphere of the place was really nice, but what truly made the difference was the service from the Latina girl, Katy. From the very beginning, she was kind, attentive, and friendly. You could tell she really knows her job and genuinely cares about giving great service. She recommended drinks based on our preferences, and absolutely nailed it. I couldn’t let more time pass without writing this review, she truly deserves it. Katy is the kind of person who makes you want to come back, not just for the drinks, but for how she makes you feel. 100% recommended.

The security sent my friend home. Very fair but took her away and said we can all keep drinking so she can find her own way home. As someone who also works in security this is never how I’d treat someone who is intox. To send a young girl home in the city by herself with no witness to know of her surroundings is awful and out of touch. Like I said, very fair to kick someone out for intox. But in training you make sure this person has a safe way home. Lack of care is very obvious here

The pub exudes an intimate atmosphere with its classic pub meets jazz lounge vibe, featuring a baby grand piano and rustic firewood stack.
The ragu steak was good, but i prefer the one with sauce rather than the home butter. The beer selection in here was also great. Great deal 18$ for the ragu steak on tuesday. Car park just behind the pub. Pretty tight and have to look around to get the spot

Rained off work so I went for lunch as usual and what a good call that was. Had the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was cooked properly with a store bought tomato sauce on it. The cheese was good and plentiful and the chips were thin cut so they did go cold fast. The plate not warmed up. The salad was a good size and only leafy with a nice dressing on it. 4.5 plates cleaned

This was an unexpected gem of a place. Recreates the feel of a British pub which is more cosy and homey than the Aussie variety. I loved the British beer and my Brit pub lunch at a table near an open log fire. The Old Speckled Hen on tap was a real highlight. 5 stars for atmosphere. Thanks!
Samuel M — Google review
Went for an early lunch. It had a lovely and quaint atmosphere, even when the crowds started coming in for the regular lunch times. We got a Scotch egg and Sunday roast pork, which was absolutely delicious. The servings were unexpectedly big and would be good shared between 2 people and really decently priced. If you're feeling nostalgic for a good London pub and grub, this is a good start.

I visited on Sunday and listened to live jazz music. I also had the Sunday roast. it was the most delicious one I've had in a long time.

By my beard, The Lord Dudley is a hall most worthy! I strode in from the weary road and found a fire that roared hot like dragon’s breath and ale that flowed colder than mountain stream. There with my brethren I raised my horn of mead, and swapped ales and tales. A true refuge for any warrior seeking warmth, cheer, and mead aplenty
James H — Google review
Been coming here 30+ years and this was the worst food I’ve ever had here. Scotch egg had thin dry meat covering and the egg was fridge-cold and had a grey ring around the yolk. Fish (and chips) was dry. The pork special arrived after my partner had pushed aside the fish and was greasy. Horrible. Service was well intentioned but awkward.

The best Sunday pub roast in Sydney. The pork roast is fantastic. Could do with a few more greens (even just some peas!) but everything on the plate is perfect - juicy pork with crispy crackling, lovely gravy, Yorkshire pudding is spot on. Great atmosphere. Make sure you book!

Inspired by Levant cuisine, the menu features dishes from various countries including Turkey. The 1200sqm-space at Westfield Pitt Street Mall boasts a hanging garden terrace, outdoor bar, and private dining rooms. Nestled in Westfield Sydney, this surprising oasis stands out with its mature fit-out and comfortable outdoor spaces adorned with greenery.
We had a wonderful luncheon here as friends to celebrate birthdays. Thanks to JJ (Jean-Jacques), we had fabulous service. We selected the taste set menu for $79 & couldn't ask for more food. They actually changed the menu to cater for our dietary preferences. We particularly enjoyed the dips with bread & the haloumi. The tuna was very interesting. The sqid was a bit tough & the fatoush salad could be more flavorsome. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience in the restaurant area.

We had the chef’s menu - Premium Taste for $99 per head and it didn’t disappoint. All food are on point and full of flavor. Service has been excellent as well. Must recommend place for middle eastern cuisine.

The food here is solid and reliably good. One of the standout advantages is that the bar area often has available tables for walk-ins, making it a convenient option when other places are full. The bar menu is surprisingly well-rounded—more than enough for a satisfying, proper dinner. However, no table service if you order the bar menu’s food. Overall, it’s a dependable choice in the city.

Amazing service and food to match. Definitely order the 72 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder (not gamy at all) and was quite surprised by the tomahawk steak cooked perfectly to medium rare. You can't miss the homemade hummus, spicy cauliflower and potato stacks. Thank you for a impeccable service and dishes to match.

Went here for my disabled brother’s 30th birthday and we had such a lovely experience. Although he got stuck in the bathroom due to a broken lock, the staff dealt with it very quickly. We were sat near the window in the corner so had the best views. The food was delicious. Highlights were the taramasalata, cauliflower, duck and lamb. The kitchen accidentally missed our cabbage order and brought us complimentary baklava instead which was very kind! The best thing was when they brought out my brother’s baklava cheesecake with a candle and a little chocolate “Happy Birthday” plaque and we sung happy birthday. We emigrated from the UK 10 years ago and it’s just me, my brother and sister here, so being looked after so warmly on such an important occasion meant a lot to us. Unfortunately, I didn’t get our waitresses name, but thank you so much. Highly recommend!

An unforgettable dining experience! From the moment we stepped into Babylon, we were transported to a world of elegance, warmth, and rich Middle Eastern charm. The décor is simply stunning — an opulent blend of ancient influences and modern sophistication that sets the perfect tone for the culinary journey ahead. A huge shout-out to Godfrey and his exceptional team, whose hospitality, knowledge, and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. Their passion for what they do shines through in every dish served and every recommendation made. The Middle Eastern cuisine was nothing short of spectacular — beautifully presented, bursting with authentic flavours, and crafted with clear expertise and love. From the mezze to the mains, every bite was a delight. Pair it with their impressive wine list and an outstanding selection of beers on tap — truly a haven for both food and drink lovers. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just treating yourself to a great night out, Babylon is an absolute must-visit. We’ll be back again very soon!

Fabulous authentic middle eastern food! Warm, professional and friendly service from Ecem who guided us with the menu, accommodated gluten free and provided drink suggestions. Great spot for a British roast, love the big yorkie (would like it more if it was thicker as it is quite thin in pastry) the beef in the roast is great, carrots + potato’s are generously served & loved the peas and thick gravy! The double cheese burger is expensive but lord it’s delicious! It’s worth it. Great options of mocktails & beers. Such a great pub to sit outside on a nice day and people watch. The sticky date pudding is delicious also! Hits the spot

Christmas in July event review: Walking into the restaurant, it was immediately clear that the main dining area—especially near the bar—was quite crowded. Unfortunately, we spent several minutes standing at the entrance without being acknowledged by any staff. It felt like we were invisible. We eventually called a friend who had arrived earlier. She had also struggled to get help and ended up locating our reserved table (which had our name on it) on her own. No assistance was provided by the staff during that process. After we seated ourselves, a staff member finally approached our table, and shortly after, our food was served. On a positive note: huge compliments to the chefs! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pork and the pumpkin dip—those were standout dishes and truly memorable. However, service throughout the night was inconsistent. We weren’t offered water, and our attempts to get a staff member’s attention were ignored; they seemed to avoid our side of the dining room altogether. As it was a course-meal, we were also surprised that our plates weren’t changed between courses. That said, when the staff did interact with us, they were polite. Atmosphere wise, it was noisy but bearable.

Sensational $35 "Winter Yorkie" Roast Turkey dinner served inside a giant Yorkshire Pudding (genius!) The place was pumping on a Saturday lunch owing to patrons heading to a Swan's game at the SCG. Opted to sit on the second floor dining area which was nice and quiet. Decided to order at the bar downstairs instead of table QR codes. $35 roast special can be made into a combo for +$5 with a Young Henry's Newtowner beer or a house wine - white being a pinot grigio on this particular day. Service was fairly timed given how busy they were. Staff were friendly and attentive. The meal itself was delicious, large portion size. Several slices of turkey, mash potato, peas, glazed carrots and gravy. We opted for no cranberry sauce on ours. One yorkie was a much different shape to the other but portion sizes seemed comparable. Wine menu is quite expensive with bottles starting at $60+ so if you want to get lit go to the Keg and Brew first for a $35 bottle of wine and then toddle up the hill for lunch. A large party with a reserved dining area moved in at 2pm and became very noisy so we went elsewhere for coffee. Pub is dog friendly! ♥️ Strong recommend.

The Big Yorkie Sunday lunch at Forresters is absolutely fantastic! The Yorkshire pudding is massive and perfectly crisp, stuffed with generous slices of tender roast meat, rich gravy, and fresh veggies. Everything was hearty, full of flavour, and cooked just right. Pairing it with a schooner made the experience even better. The atmosphere in Phylli’s Room was cosy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed Sunday meal. It's definitely worth coming back for – highly recommend!

Great service and atmosphere. I was really looking forward to the big Yorkshire and while it was good it wasn’t something someone couldn’t create at home. Also my peas were raw. So I really felt the heavy price tag of $35 is ridiculous. My partner liked the steak but they didn’t bother to make it medium rare n since we paid $37 for it. It was just something simple not done right. Again the pricing needs to be better. It was a ridiculous amount for something that wwe could get down the road.

From start to finish, our dinner here was just a fantastic experience. The restaurant has a super cool and vibrant atmosphere without being overwhelming, making it the perfect spot for a special night out. We'd heard great things, and Cafe Paci absolutely delivered on all fronts. The food was the real star of the show. You can tell a lot of thought and creativity goes into every single dish. We loved everything we tried; each plate was inventive, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. It’s the kind of meal you talk about for days after. To top it all off, the service was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, which really completed the perfect dining experience. It's rare to find a place where the food, the vibe, and the staff are all this good. Can't wait to be back again soon!

Fantastic experience! Had a stunning lunch here in August and we have to say that is the most intelligent, elegant food we have had for years. The restaurant has a great casual vibe, excellent staff and service and a Newtown edge, however the food was next level! A big shout out to the crab blini, it looked stunning, was light as clouds and we had one of those moments of silence where you think where am I, how did they do this! A must do experience. It’s been a while since I rated a place 5/5! I’m actually not sure where to start. Ok firstly the warm welcome from Georgia was so nice. Seated at one of Shiela’s tables was just pure luck! Dinner - starters the incredible rye bread and creamed butter. Followed by the Barrata mini calzones, tender asparagus in the must scrumptious cream and finally the tuna with blood orange segments. If that wasn’t enough to blow your mind - the most tender of silky carpaccio with organic rocket and Parmesan was sensational. The finale for us was the plate of cauliflower steak with burnt butter and garlic. We spoke about this dinner all the way home and it was tough choosing our best dish. Only regret is not having the space for dessert. Huge thanks to Celia, Cam and the team for what can only be described as my treat out for the month. Thank you.

We had a wonderful time dining here - the food was unique and really delicious without a ridiculous price tag! We really enjoyed the specials we ordered (the pasta and the Wagyu). The wait staff were warm and friendly. Would definitely come back again.

Quite possibly one of my absolute favourite restaurants in Australia. Visited for the first time last week on a Friday night and it exceeded all expectations. Every dish was incredible - no lulls in courses or improvements needed. Loved the holistic balance of flavours while the punchiness of the star ingredients really shone through (I'm going to need to get myself some calabrian chilli's for my own pantry...). They somehow even transformed asparagus into one of my favourite dishes of the night (a hard task, as everything was so good). All in all, a fantastic restaurant with a a comfortable yet slightly upscale ambience and exceptionally warm service.

We eat out a lot. Without doubt one of the best meals and service we have experienced in eons. Here’s a heads up to the uncountable amount of cafes and restaurants who truly believe their food and service meets the grade - take your team to Cafe Paci - best lesson ever!!! As a former hospo at many levels in the food and wine industry…we were blown away. Thank you Cafe Paci. And a special shout out to Tori and Cam - consummate professionals.

Lovely venue, well priced menu. Absolutely loved the ox tongue taco and brown butter scallop ravioli, and I appreciated the portion as ravioli dishes usually come with an average of four pieces 🤣. The fish dish was quite average. I’d visit again to sample more of the menu!

Ragazzi is a charming Italian eatery located in a lively part of the city, offering a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine, featuring share plates and an extensive wine selection. The intimate space creates a moody ambiance, with closely packed tables adding to the bustling vibe. The menu showcases an array of handmade pasta dishes paired with flavorful sauces, such as cavatelli with squid ink and urchin or gigli with pork and fennel sausage.
We are so happy with our experience. We celebrate my partner's birthday I just used his name as the booking name. :) The staff is really welcoming. I forgot to ask their name but they are really helpful. The food is insane good we didn't know what to order at first, but someone approached us and helped us to order. I definitely recommend this to my friends.

Honestly… perhaps the best pasta i’ve ever had… Came here with no expectations as I did not make the booking but was immediately blown away by how flavourful and complex the pasta dishes were. Firstly, the starters were amazing and the anchovies were adequately salty and delicious. We then had 3 different pastas. All were amazing but the stand out had to be the malfadine with prawns, tomato and kombu. This sauce was simply to die for. I wish I had a cup to drink it up! I also loved how every pasta offered used different kinds of pasta and I got to experience the texture and taste of pasta i’ve never encountered before! The dessert was also delicious - a panna cotta with this refreshing flavoured shaved ice on top. Overall an amazing experience! Can’t wait to go back when i’m next in sydney!

Food was amazing!! Cozy space found in an alley. Definitely recommend the beef tartar and lumache spanner crab (my sister won't shut up about the spanner crab dish)! Didn't know what to expect but the flavours were hitting the right spot. The 3 of us ordered 1 appetizer and 3 main dishes (pastas) and ended up ordering another dish. Recommended for picky eaters like me not expecting to like the crab and duck dish. The server was friendly and attentive too. Would come back to try a different dish on the menu :)

We were visiting Sydney and were recommended this restaurant by a bartender in the area and it did not disappoint. We were able to walk in and sit at the bar top which we really loved! It was cool being able to see the behind the scenes. The staff was meticulously plating and working on everything. The food and drinks were wonderful and a unique take on Italian. The burrata was great and the sauce on the asparagus ravioli was very unique

Ragazzi is a cosy little pasta bar in Sydney’s CBD that’s been on my list for a while. It’s an intimate space with a calm atmosphere, and you can tell straight away all the pasta’s made fresh in-house. Started off with the anchovies on toast and the tuna crudo. The anchovies were great quality — salty, rich, and full of flavour — though the butter laid over the bread was a bit heavy for me. If you love butter though, you’d probably call it perfect. The tuna crudo came on what’s basically a crunchy biscuit base — almost hard at first bite, but it balanced surprisingly well with the tuna. At around $15 per piece, it’s definitely on the pricier side, but the flavour and quality were there. Tried to order the beef tartare, but they were already sold out at 12:30 pm (an hour after opening), which was a bit disappointing, but it happens. We sat at the bench and could watch one of the chefs prepping the entrées — really precise work, and you could tell how much care went into it. For pasta, we had the prawn malfadine and cacio e pepe. The prawn malfadine was my favourite — fresh prawns, great bite on the pasta, and a sauce that clung perfectly. The cacio e pepe had good balance overall but was a touch too peppery for my liking. Sauce texture was spot on though — creamy and not watery. Service was top-notch. Staff were attentive without hovering, and I appreciated them bringing over bread to mop up the pasta sauces — nice thoughtful touch. Overall, Ragazzi is a well-run, high-quality pasta spot. A few minor misses for me personally in flavour balance, but everything else — from the service to the prep to the feel of the place — was excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into handmade pasta done with real care.

Loved the cozy vibe at Ragazzi — small, chic, and super inviting. The staff were all smiles and really attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The pasta was beautifully presented and full of flavor (a bit salty for our taste, but still delicious!). Such a cute spot for a nice dinner in the city. 💛

I had one of the best pastas of my life here. Particularly enjoyed the Malfadini seafood and Cacio e Pepe - pasta were done to perfect al dente, and flavours was spectacular. Service was also very warm and excellent. Highly recommended to make reservations in advance - it’s Sydney after all!

Went here for dinner with a friend and had such a lovely time. The place is pretty small, but the atmosphere was really warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and polite We both tried different pasta dishes and the flavours were really unique – fun to explore and delicious. The portions were on the smaller side, but still filling enough for us. The wine list is huge

Goros is a vibrant izakaya in Surry Hills that offers a unique blend of late-night entertainment. The venue features long tables, bar seats, and karaoke booths where guests can enjoy Japanese snacks and sake. The neon-lit space is perfect for indulging in dumplings, char-grilled skewers, okonomiyaki, karaage chicken, burgers, and crinkle-cut fries with Japanese curry ketchup.
I came in with my partner after our date, as an activity to wrap it all up, and may I say I was not disappointed, in fact I was very delighted by the atmosphere and service of the staff. Time I entered was around 9-10pm, exiting at 12am; the venue was very quiet, but my partner and I enjoyed it more as it was. The some of the cocktails were a great price, and the amount of activities you can do for free are amazing even the paid one are very much worth it. Very last shout out to the staff there, especially Fred, thank you for providing the awesome service and information about the event/activities around the place, will definitely come back again!!!!

Where do I even begin? I made a booking for 12 people weeks in advance only to arrive and find a table set up with just 8 seats. I had to speak with two different staff members and their solution was to add another table that was a completely different height and shape, hardly ideal for a group celebration. When I made the booking I clearly stated it was for a birthday. I’m not sure why they even ask that question, as there was absolutely nothing special done to acknowledge the occasion. On top of that they placed us on the dance floor, and not even an hour into our booking we were told all the tables in that area were being removed. This happened while my friends were still eating. I had to once again raise concerns with another staff member, who eventually relocated us but we ended up being split between two separate tables. As if that wasn’t enough, when I finally thought I’d be able to relax and enjoy my night, I asked for the birthday cake I had brought with me only to discover it had been given to someone else. The staff didn’t check, confirm a name or ask for a table number they just handed my cake to someone who was leaving the bar! I had to speak to another three or four more staff members before getting any answers. While the manager did offer immediate compensation for the lost cake, the entire experience was far more stressful than it should have been. It’s a real shame because the venue is beautiful, the food was great, and the drinks were reasonably priced. But the lack of organization and poor communication among staff completely ruined what should have been a special evening. I spent more than half my birthday dealing with unnecessary issues instead of enjoying time with my guests.

My best friend's Hens was here a few weeks ago and I had stuffed up and booked a table the wrong night. The staff were so accommodating about my error and were able to book us again for the night of and I just want to say thank you so much. She had the best time and we partied hard. The drinks were so good, excellent chip quality, the vibes were hard, and she felt like a princess. Thanks again Goros and to the staff, I'm sorry I stuffed up!

I recently celebrated my birthday at Goros and had such a fun night! We booked a 1 hour 45 minute karaoke session and then spent some time at the bar afterwards. The service was great — the staff were lovely, friendly, and accommodating throughout the night. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for a celebration. My only wish is that we could’ve booked the karaoke room for a bit longer, because everyone was having such a good time and didn’t want it to end! Other than that, it was a really enjoyable experience and I’d definitely come back again for another night of singing and drinks! 🎤🍹✨

I love this place! I'm definitely older than most customers, but I really love the ambiance, the food, the facts that there's so much to do (games, karaoke, isolated tables vs. Dancefloor). It's really cool! Don't choose the game night to have a quiet chat with friends, but otherwise, enjoy the place!!

The Lobo – Sydney A hidden gem in the heart of Sydney and one of the most memorable bar experiences I’ve had in the city. The Lobo is tucked away down a staircase, and as soon as you step inside, you're transported somewhere totally different—think moody Caribbean lounge with dark timber, lush plants, and flickering candles. The cocktail menu is packed with creative rum-based drinks, but there’s something for everyone. The bartenders are friendly, passionate, and more than happy to help you find something you'll love. I had a couple of cocktails I’d never tried before, and they were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The vibe is fun, energetic, and intimate—perfect for a date night or a small group catch-up. It does get loud when it’s busy, but the overall experience is worth it. Great music, great service, and a very cool, underground atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re into craft cocktails and unique bars!

30/5/25 - 3 stars A pretty popular Caribbean(?) style underground bar. Dimly lit and nicely decorated, but, damn is it noisy. Definitely not the place to go for a quiet drink and chat. No table service, all bar service, though, bartenders are quite helpful just quite hard to hear anything. Drinks are overall well made. Not a huge fan of rum, bourbon or the other main spirits used here so will admit I'm a bit biased but the creativity is there. Nude with oranges: B+, 6.5/10. Not much orange there. Strong rum flavours. $24 Tiki's dusk: B, 6/10. Equally as potent with bourbon. Not really any fruit flavours detectable. $25

Nestled within the charming confines of an old furniture showroom at the base of the Paramount House Hotel, Poly is a hidden gem that beckons food lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Picture yourself savoring octopus drizzled with carrot and chili oil or indulging in anchovy toast topped with creamy egg butter while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails.
I’ve been dining out a lot lately, and while many places served decent food, most dishes were predictable and lacked excitement. Here, however, the food completely exceeded expectations. Each dish arrived in a way that was different from what I had imagined based on the menu – in the best way possible. It was a genuinely fun and flavorful experience. The atmosphere was great, and the food was truly impressive. One small downside was that the servers didn’t wipe the table when clearing dishes or serving new ones, which felt a bit off in an otherwise well-executed service. But I truly recommend this restaurant.

Loved everything I ordered that night! Service was attentive to the right amount without being pushy, and the vibes were great. Steak was one of the best I’ve tasted with the mustard and chilli pairing quite perfectly. It was tender and just the right amount of fat! Tuna tartare came with a bowl of vegetables but serving was just right, with the sauce that came with it. Potatoes… lovely starter. 1 per person would be just nice. Lemon meringue tart is layered and not your typical tart! A lot more filling than “tart” — not a complaint! Actually great to end off with this as it wouldn’t be too filling. 4 stars just because it’s a tad on the pricier side, but thinking of returning to try other menu items already :-)

Beautiful fit out. Stood at host counter in line for just under 10 minutes despite having a booking. Service was slow, I was a solo diner and I ordered 3 oysters, bread and 2 dips and the fried potato, all of which don’t require prep but took a good while to come out. I ordered tap water, I got sparkling. The fried potato dish came out first before the fresh oysters so I had them cancelled but they came out anyway, without oyster forks but they were good enough. The friend potato was good, but was really just a big hashbrown. Sesame dip with potato bread was nice. The other dip however, the nduja was incredibly spicy and a thick dry texture with not enough honey - it was also $18 just for half a cup of the subpar dip. Really not impressed by poly. Too many small mistakes, and just passable food that doesn’t warrant the price. I know a 2/5 sounds harsh but for me a 2.5 is a passing mark and poly unfortunately didn’t pass for me, I wouldn’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend it. $107 for what’s pictured (as well as one glass of wine)

We booked a reservation for 2. Service was subpar as it took a while to call over a waiter to take our order (may be under staffed). Ordered lamb for the main, smoked cauliflower, flatbread, and bone marrow as a spread for the bread. The flatbread was tasty but unfortunately did come well ahead of the bone marrow hence by the time the bone marrow arrived, the flatbread was cold. Nonetheless the bone marrow was delicious. The lamb was $90.00 and we felt that it did not live up to the price tag. Was slightly under seasoned. Cauliflower was okay, felt that it was slightly undercooked. Service could improve greatly.

We had a fantastic evening at Poly last night. I’m not surprised as I love their other restaurant Ester too. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome. They were so accommodating with my dietary requirements, offering sauces on the side tailored to me while ensuring my friend could enjoy the full menu experience, it felt thoughtful and seamless. I must say- if you ask for their spicy margarita, you will blown away. I can’t stop thinking about it, they were so good we had a few! For starters we had the raw fish crudo and the standout potato entrée (the layered/rosti-style potato dish with salted egg yolk), both dishes were very good, full of texture and flavour. Then for our mains we enjoyed the fish dish and the green salad- the fish was cooked perfectly and the salad was a great compliment to the fish. Everything tasted just delicious. A special shout-out to Adam, our waiter- he was hilarious and we loved the banter, engaging with us in a way that made the night fun without losing professionalism. He genuinely elevated the experience. Overall, the food, service and atmosphere were all on point. If you’re looking for a night out with excellent food and genuine hospitality, I highly recommend Poly. We’ll definitely be going back.

Torn between a 3 or 4 star with this experience to be honest. Venue, excellent - loved the decor! Service - good. When it came to the food, I was going in expecting more….(though it was the first lockdown meal after restrictions ended, so may have been a tad bit too excited…. The fish fingers, EXCELLENT! I’d be happy to have a few plates! Zucchini flowers, nothing spectacular. Grilled Octopus… again, nothing standout. Mushroom, Garlic, Parmesan and fried egg…. Interesting, was not a fan. It’s one of those confusing dishes that you walk away thinking, why?! Ricotta Dumplings, great! I’d have more of these please. Pork Sausage….. okay this really needs to be taken off the menu. It’s basic, tasteless twirled up meat thrown at you in a pool of sauce, disappointing! Porchetta & Rhubarb, simply bland, boring and pointless. Not sure how I feel about re-visiting this place….

But the mushrooms really are worth trying! The sauce and the nice cooked egg underneath make it incredibly tasty!!! Service is pretty good but music and people talking are a bit too loud.

Amazing food and service here. The scallops were incredible and the standout of the night. You have to get the ricotta dumplings if you come here.

Our overall experience was positive with attentive service from the waiting staff. The food was generally tasty and came in good portions. My favourite dish was the chicken mole that was cooked perfectly. The desserts (banana split and chocolate brownie) however were not to our taste.

Really nice moody intimate tapas bar. Not sure what it'd be like for a group but for two people the vibe was good. Great soundtrack throughout the night. The tapas are well portioned. We had the fish fingers which were excellent; grilled cos, charred corn and manchego which was very nice; the entrana was not bad, pretty tasty (I wouldn't order again though); and they were gracious enough to give us one ricotta dumpling to try instead of a full serve - which we loved. The basque cheesecake was a great way to finish the night. We enjoyed how our waitstaff recommended wines to us rather than choosing from a list. There are some good non-alcoholic options too. As it was our honeymoon, she also gifted us a glass of yuzushu which was so kind, and the yuzushu was incredible.

5 stars for the food, service, and ambience😍 The waiters were all incredibly lovely and knowledgeable - they were warm and friendly too. The Wagyu steak, octopus, truffle salami and bread were just delicious.

This has got to be the most bizarre experience we’ve had in a restaurant or bar for a while. We arrive and wait at the front for a while to be seated, it seems the staff were chatting at the back. The red haired lady, I presume the maître d seated us but never asked if we wanted a drink or food or to the take our order so we weren’t really sure who was our waiter etc. We were seated to peruse the menu. It took a while to be asked to order. The reason this was strange, is that there seemed to be 4 staff on the books, but only really ever 1 in the room or working at one time. A red head lady greeted us walked past a few times, but didn’t take an order. The wine sommelier (I presume) seemed to be a bit slow figuring out what wine was on offer, or finding the Pinot Grigio I agreed to. He then also seemed to disappear from the restaurant. It was then up to the blonde lady to do everyone’s work. Our food came out fast, and it was all really nice. School prawns with aioli, Foccacia which they kindly topped up, fried broccoli and dumplings. Food was great, albeit the $20 price tag of 2 dumplings. When leaving we again waited a while for the attention of the blonde lady for the bill. We went to pay with card and she advised about a 3% surcharge (which I’ve already ranted about this week somewhere else) and made my sentiments known. She then said “don’t worry about it”. How is that possible to say that’s the fee and take it away? By this point 2 other staff has returned, and Waitress said “click for the tip”. Ordinarily yes we would, today no due to poor service. Anyway overall, good food, nice wine but at odds with the service.

Henry Deane is a contemporary cocktail lounge located in the historic Hotel Palisade, offering breathtaking views of Sydney Harbor. Situated in Millers Point near Barangaroo Reserve, this sophisticated venue provides an ideal setting for enjoying sunset cocktails. The space spans two levels and features various sections, allowing guests to find a private spot or immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere. With its modern design, plush seating, and marble accents, Henry Deane offers uninterrupted harbor views and a menu designed for sharing.
Great experience! I didn’t know about the view before coming and it was a great surprise! The food selection is unique with different flavors than what you can experience somewhere else in Sydney. The service was friendly, we had a great table! The Venu have such a good decoration. I can’t wait to come back!

Seeing Vivid Sydney doesn’t have to be a punish. You can make a small targeted excursion to take in Legs On The Wall’s Endling in Barangaroo Reserve, and still feel like you’ve seen a lot. It’s a solo performance in an aerial birdcage with an environmental theme, created by Joshua Thomson. The 45-minute show, which teams audiovisual elements with aerial performance on slings, silks and wires, runs six times a night with only a few minutes in between, so it doesn’t matter when you get there between 6pm and festival close 11pm. Team your foray with a drink or meal on the top floor of the Hotel Palisade. The glass-box bar, Henry Deane, will show you exactly why long-term Millers Point social housing residents were driven out to fund (so far) 1902 units of social housing across the state. The coveted peninsula position will have you feeling on top of the world as you take in 270 degree views from Barangaroo and the ANZAC bridge all the way to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and beyond. Despite the jaw-dropping views, the bar prices aren’t wound-you; the food and cocktails are good; and staff are warm and friendly to all comers. It clearly hasn’t forgotten at its heart, it’s still a public house in a suburb quarried by convicts. The Smooth Criminal ($24) teaming Del Maguey mezcal, Pampelle (a ruby grapefruit aperitif), sake, Chartreuse and lime seems very appropriate. Agave Love ($24) combines Del Vida mezcal with Epsolon tequila, verjus and pomegranate tea with a pink fruit-filled ice cube. You can also drink a nice Margaret River Chardonnay—the 2023 Voyager Estate ‘Coastal’ Chardonnay ($18/glass)—from a list with a good number of bottles around eighty bucks. Tidy little logs of potato hash topped with piped abalone sauce and smoked pork dust ($22/4) are your drinking snacks, alongside raw scallop and prawn medallions, capsicum and lemon myrtle ($39/6) served in the scallop shell. Raw fish ceviche ($28) made using kingfish, was delicate and palate refreshing against coconut, green pepper oil and pickled cucumber. Beautifully rendered glazed pork belly ($28) served sliced in a puddle of tasty glaze with pickled grapes for punctuation was equally good. A generously proportioned code lettuce salad ($19) kept up the surprises with a tangy charred tomatillo dressing, olive and a chilli-kick from spiced almonds. From a short, one-page menu, this felt like a lot of hits. The only question I was left with, was why the Sydney Harbour Bridge, when viewed from Western Sydney, is only half lit? Come on Vivid, us Westies deserve the same attention as our richer Eastern Suburbs cousins.

Food was very nice and different which was cool. The standout was the chickpea and carrot snacks, they had a bunch of things going on and surprised us a lot! Everything else had lots of flavour but still lacked something and didn’t really have much variation? All tasted quite similar. Quite large portions though which was nice. The rhubarb crumble was really good too :) Service was a bit tainted as we were running quite late to our booking (absolutely our fault). As I’ve worked as a host myself I was very stressed about it and I’d tried calling over five times to see if we could change the time, if they been ok for us to still make it, or just let them know we had to cancel. But no response so just decided to go and ask if it was still an option and leave if not. They did hold it for us which was lovely but understandably moved to a different seat. However, they were still quite blunt and cold, which was obvious and off putting- I absolutely understand being annoyed, but the lack of hospitality made a difference throughout the whole night. The view was absolutely gorgeous, and there was great music, the live band was really cool. I’d like to come back, maybe to try a few different dishes and to give the service another go to see if it was just a one off experience by our circumstances or not.

visited Henry Deane this time just for drinks, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a fantastic spot for both drinks and food, with a great atmosphere and cheerful staff. On a beautiful, crisp winter Sunday, the experience feels magical in this beautifully renovated building that blends modern architecture with nostalgic charm. The combination of old and new is simply perfect. While the music could use some improvement and I wish there were more outdoor seating, the views of the sunset over Sydney Harbour are absolutely breathtaking.

Amazing 360 degree views, top notch friendly attentive service, lovely decor and comfy seats and wonderful share plates of food. Not huge portions though so may need a few if starving. We came on a Saturday and had a two hour seating upstairs and got relocated downstairs to one of the private rooms ( not exactly private as others could come in ). Still, has amazing views and comfy couches! They do slap a 10% gratuity fee and credit card surcharge for a regular Saturday, and prices a little on the high side.

I had an amazing dining experience at this place! The food is bursting with flavor, and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you're a bourbon enthusiast, don't miss out on trying the Old Salty Girl – it's a must! Highly recommend this spot for a delicious meal and welcoming atmosphere.

The food was unique and delicious. Above all, the staff were incredibly kind, and even though we stayed until late, they treated us warmly the entire time. It was truly an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this place for important gatherings or special occasions.

Did some building works on the venue and found the place looks amazing, so came here for an early mother's day lunch to also test out the venue for a combined birthday party we want to have here. Day was sunny with no cloud in the sky, venue had a few spare seats, so partially busy. Venue is amazing, great views, staff were tentative and food menu was short and simple. May I say this is probably the first restaurant I've been to for many years which had the manager run through the menu, have tasted the menu and knew what he was talking about rather than just give a "oh yeah I think this one is good" type of recommendation. When I say food menu was short an simple, don't get me wrong, it was simple so you don't need to spend hours deciding what to eat, furthermore it was done nicely. Cocktail menu is also a short selection, however but if you know exactly what you want, the bartender will know how to make it. Note there is a surcharge which is added as a service fee, I don't particularly like this, however they made the service fee worth it, so can't complain. There is also a rounding up of final bill which typically not suppose to happen for card payments.

What a fabulous place. The service is incredible - they have done such a great job with this new venue. The staff are very attentive and the bosses are so welcoming. Nat is going a great job. Delicious food and best drinks in the CBD. Come visit. Five stars.

Awesome spot to hang out after work for happy hour deals. Discounted pizza, pasta and white wine all tasted fantastic for the value. Good and cheap Italian option for dinner near Wynyard area.
Stanley L — Google review
Food 4/5 Carbonara is creamy, flavorful and there was just enough for the past portion. Pasta is a tad soft for me. Bacon was plain tasting to me. Thin crust Pizza has a tasty tomato base and just the right amount of ingredients. Lady who brought our food from the kitchen is on all smiles despite the terrible rain that afternoon. The other lady in the restaurant was totally unhelpful, we were the only customers and it took effort to get her attention. Very unfriendly person. I must say prices are reasonable by Sydney downtown standards. But I probably will not revisit.

Been twice on this stay in Sydney. Would definitely go again.... very helpful staff. Had pasta one night and pizza the secobd night. Both great choices.

Lamb ragu was great, some might consider it a tiny bit on the bland side but that suits my taste perfectly, as I don’t like mine overly rich. Had good atmospheric dim lighting and was able to be seated and served immediately, with a very reasonable ten minute wait for my meal.

Seemed ok at first - staff were nice and the location was good. We ordered our entrees and were served them relatively quickly but our mains never turned up and after 2 hours of waiting (with little reasoning from the staff as to why) we had to walk walk out to get dinner elsewhere 🥲. Not sure if there was a miscommunication between the staff and kitchen or what, but that was probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.

Place was SUPER busy and led to a bit of a wait for a seat at the bar for one but the food was fantastic and reasonably priced!
