UPDATE:- Sun 11th August 2024. Visited here again with family. Superb food, the fish and chips are amazing, the fish was so fresh and light, encased in the best crispy batter I've ever tasted! My nut roast was superb, and so was the roast beef dinner (so I was told). The haddock and salmon fishcakes were a hit for my parents who are not big eaters, so the portion size was perfect for them. Once again, a lovely experience with really friendly staff, reasonable prices and great service. Highly recommend. Great food, lovely staff, reasonable prices..will be back! Tried the new on the menu chicken curry with coconut rice ..absolutely lovely. The meals are served hot and promptly with a smile by the friendly staff. Like the idea of the mini puddings and coffee, a great idea, they were delicious too!

Great pub for lunch. We were a group of 10 including a newborn baby and enjoyed the warmth, food and hospitality. Unfortunately we were not able to sit by the fireplace (yes they have an awesome fireplace) but it was still great seating and we will definitely come back.

Black Jug is a traditional local pub. They serve Sunday Roast till late evenings. Decent portions. Nice choice of ciders. Seasonal menu. No service at the outside patio.
Olga N — Google review
A few friends and I visited the Black Jug on Sunday for a roast dinner. Booking was easy and hassle free. We arrived and were escorted to our table in a cosy but airy part of the pub. The atmosphere was great and there were loads of people enjoying their roasts too. The food was delicious and the price you'd expect to pay. Around £19 to £23 depending on what you chose. Sides of pigs in blankets were available too, which are a staple side for this time of year! Plenty of food for the price. Desert list was filled with tempting treats, all around £7.95, again, reasonable. The staff were very friendly. Can't fault the experience and will go back.

Gorgeous pub, nice staff, food was tasty Really great time Lovely atmosphere

Really enjoyed visiting this place. Very busy pub, mixed ages - no music, which is a plus in my book. I had baked camembert with honey and walnuts. It was excellent. Good sized portions, I didn't need a main course as I wasn't that hungry. I was with other people who all loved their food. Decently priced and well presented.

After going to the cinema to watch an entertaining film, we thought we’d come over to the blackjack. I came with my daughter for a Sunday roast. I was most impressed with the Lamb. I will definitely be coming again service, atmosphere, everything was perfect. My daughter also loved her meal. One of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had thank you we will come again

I had roast beef here on a Sunday evening. I booked a table online and all worked well. The ale was excellent and I had a glass of wine with the food. Very nice. I would recommend.

Lovely staff and delicious food. We had booked online and mentioned in the comments box '2 vegan roasts please' (as we always like to give notice!) and they very kindly called to say the nut roast was not vegan but they can do the cauliflower chickpea balti pie for us. The roast was delicious. Best vegan roast we have had out in a long time. Carrots, parsnips and roast potatoes cooked perfectly.

Roast did not live up to expectations. However cauliflower cheese best part. Staff friendly. Atmosphere lovely.

I had a lovely catch up with a friend yesterday The food and atmosphere were wonderful I’ve always liked coming here. It is one of the best pubs in Horsham and since their refurbishment with extra seating area outside it’s even better

The old Green Dragon pub I remember from my younger years! Not far from The Carfax. Easy to reach. Big outside garden and a lot of seating inside. GREAT fish and chips and steak and kidney pie!

We were expecting a real treat a Sunday dinner in a great pub but NO : Cold food on both plates a side dish turn up after we reminded them of our order it lacked taste all round and definitely won't be going back .

Have spent many times in Horsham but first time here, was looking forward to, large glass of wine 8.55!!! well at that shocking price could only stay for one, rather buy a bottle and have in hotel room! Not the most welcoming..infact not at all from the outside looks cosy & friendly ,quite the opposite

Nestled in a charming locale, The Boars Head is a delightful pub that has quickly become a favorite among visitors. A recent lunch outing with friends highlighted the exceptional service and delectable food, including gluten-free options for those with dietary needs. Guests rave about the warm and inviting atmosphere, where rustic charm meets classy decor. The Boars Head also shines as an event venue; one couple celebrated their wedding there and were enchanted by the cozy setting and stunning terrace views.
Popped in for lunch, didn't book and was seated in the pub area. Recommend booking for the restaurant end. We were happy near the fire, service was friendly and we had a warm welcome. We were very impressed with the food and lunch menu prices were great! What a little gem, highly recommend! Good pub food & prices!

My wife and I went for a lunch today and what a pleasant experience. Friendly and welcoming staff. Despite the fact we didn’t pre book table the staff didn’t turn us away in fact quite the opposite they welcomed us inn. Very impressed. Food was excellent. Super fresh and delicious. 100% will recommend. Based on our experience today we will definitely be back. Many thanks

Came here for my sons 18th birthday meal. Recieved a warm welcome on arrival and throughout our meal the staff couldn't have been more friendly and wonderful. The food was some of the best food we've had in a long time. Flavour and presentation was 5 star. The restaurant itself was warm and cosy as well as being clean and tidy. Will definitely be returning in the future to sample the rest of the menu

Thanks to Google and other peoples reviews, we decided to book here and try the Sunday lunch. WOW! What a hidden gem, it may not look picture perfect on the outside , but inside you’re greeted with friendly staff and lovely decor. The atmosphere was calm with nice background music but most importantly, we had one of the best roasts we’ve all had in a longtime. Thank you very much to the great chefs and waitress’s, we will be back :)
Amber C — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch and very friendly service — if you can find a parking space: we picked a particularly busy day, but just managed to jigsaw our way in! Great views as well if you get an outside table.
Neil B — Google review
Sunday lunchtime our first visit. Public house prices and pretty normal beer & wine, we did not eat, so out of the box it's nothing special. The recommended Shiraz wine was not great, as it had bitter aftertaste. The Tangle Foot was okay, but the real ale selection is non existent. The staff weren't very engaging, I'd say surly rather than welcoming. A nice walk from Horsham, that's about it.
Clive W — Google review
Great roast, lovely flavours, large portions and tender meat. Had an issue where the waitress had put our table in as two orders (so we had to eat separately) But this was dealt with very well by the manager. We were the last seating of the day, so advise booking earlier in the day, so you have full choice of meats. Will definitely be back, highly recommend.
Saffie A — Google review
Reasonably nice venue with a warm atmosphere and good selection of drinks, however the food is very over priced for what it is. cheddar and mushroom melt is literally a mushroom with cheese melted on top.... Completely understand there has to be some sort of mark up on food but £8+ was a little extreme. The cheeseburger was also a little bit underwhelming, the menu suggests that is is served with tomato, burger sauce and gherkin. What I actually got was a small burger, large leaf of lettuce and ketchup, once again not work the £16+

Côte Horsham is a modern French brasserie offering a variety of regional specialties and traditional classics. The restaurant features a visually appealing interior with maze designs on the ceiling, creating a unique ambiance for diners. Located in West Sussex, this establishment provides an all-day dining experience, opening from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on most days. With its inviting atmosphere and delicious cuisine, Côte Horsham is a must-visit dining destination in the area.
I have breakfast at Cote Horsham this Sunday morning. The restaurant was almost full by 10:30am. Although I had no reservation of seat, Anouchka who spoke fluent French welcomed me warmly. From her lovely smile, everyone knows that she likes her job. Andrew explained to me the breakfast set options I might enjoy. I ordered smoked salmon with scrambled egg which was tasty and not overcooked. Andrew managed to order a cup of Mocha for me even though it was not on the menu. I love the vibe of this restaurant on Sunday morning. I shall definitely come again.
Y H — Google review
We visited for breakfast and unfortunately it was a bit of a mixed experience. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived, yet it took around 45 minutes for our food to arrive. It was getting busier as we waited, but I feel that’s still quite a long time to wait for breakfast. I ordered the Cote Breakfast, which looked great on paper but ended up being rather underwhelming. At £14, I expected a bit more in terms of portion size. The bacon was very sparse, the beans, while tasty came in such a tiny ramekin that they were gone in a single mouthful, and the whole plate was lukewarm. The same went for the rest of my party’s meals. My toast was oddly stale, which was disappointing. The sausage was missing from my plate initially, but to their credit it was brought out quickly when I mentioned it. I appreciated that they happily swapped mushrooms for avocado. The highlight was the coffee, absolutely excellent. Our waiter, I believe his name was Cameron or Callum, was also fantastic, friendly, attentive, and he apologised for the delay without being prompted. Shout out to him 🙋 Overall, great service and coffee, but the food and value didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Had stake, was great decision to have dinner there. Would love to taste another course, as it was our first time there. They served as very well. 💪🏽
Matahari S — Google review
Enjoyed a nice breakfast here. The Eggs royale was very good and we had a side of bacon and spinach. Service was good, the young woman serving us was very polite and professional. I also tried a non-alcoholic cocktail which was very tasty. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and the atmosphere was very comfortable in which to enjoy a meal. Quite pricey, however and the portions were on the smaller side.
James — Google review
Such lovely service. Unfortunately this cheapened menu speaks volume. I had the steak frites, something I’ve always ordered as part of the set menu, absolutely tiny. The offering of extra frites I guess is to soften the blow. My husband upgraded to a sirloin, and not worth it for. £8. Once again can’t fault the staff but the chain has definitely taken a cheap approach.
Kelly S — Google review
First time diners at this restaurant , we didn’t book but got a nice table at approx 7:30pm. Good atmosphere and nice surroundings. Found the menu quite limited. Skipped the starters and both had mains. Half chicken and frites and rib eye steak and frites. Mains come with nothing extra (£22 for the chicken and chips and £33.30 for the steak and chips) so got a portion of grain mushrooms. Ordered wine by the glass. Food was ok but what a let down the frites/chips were. Yes, hot, crispy and fluffy inside but dry and flavourless. They offer you unlimited frites. I didn’t want any more as they were so bad, but got another potion just in case mine were a bad example. But they were exactly the same. Average to poor food which is over priced, as was the wine. Over £100 for 2 mains, one side a 3 glasses of wine. Disappointing and won’t be back.

Lunch 02/09/25 This is somewhere we've eaten quite regularly, usually with no issues, unfortunately that was not case on this occasion. It started when being seated (possibly by the duty manager?) and we were not given a children's menu for the little one, no biggy but it does slow thing down when it comes to ordering, and the waitress found one off us. All went well with the drinks and starters, neither took long to arrive and all seemed good. It was then where it went downhill. After the starter plates were cleared, we waited and waited, saw people around us make orders and receive food, but no sign of our mains (and an increasingly restless and hungry 2 year old). After around 30+ mins the man I assumed to be the duty manager came over to say that he was letting people know there was a delay due to being busy (a surprise at lunchtime apparently), and we'd be served soon and he'd get us another bottle of water. He only came to our table, so it would appear we'd been forgotten but he didn't want to say, we'd have been more understanding if he was honest. He then went on to imply it our fault as we hadn't booked?? Being a High Street chain, I'm pretty sure prebooking has miminal impact and they rely on walk ups? and, as if my magic, the mains appeared. The plates were extremely hot, but the food was dry and tepid at best, with wilted garish on my wife's fish, almost as if they're spent a long time under a heat lamp as opposed to being served, so pretty disappointing. He never reappeared with the water, and seemed to stay far away until we left. On a positive, the waitress (Jerusa) was lovely, otherwise I'd have had the 'optional' service charge removed from the bill.

Natalie, her partner and crew are so welcoming and efficient. We had a lovely 2 course evening meal with drinks which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. We ate inside but there is also a beautiful outdoor eating area. We were able to spend the night in our motorhome in the large car park at no extra cost if we had a meal. Had use of outside water tap. Pub toilets available during opening hours and from 10:00am in the morning. She also brought us a cup of coffee in the morning!

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and sat outside as it was so hot. They have a large marquee type structure in the garden, which gave lots of shade, and although we had booked, it was pretty quiet so I guess that weekday lunchtime is not their busy time? The food was delicious, and my wife said it was the best fishcake she has ever had! The sweet potato fries were crispy, and overall it was a super meal. It's great that a pub in a small village can produce food of this quality.

4 adults making use of the birthday free bottle of house wine. 2 seabass 1 meat pie 1 pork chop. All 4 meals were hot, tasty and a decent portion. Service was smiley. 2 puddings ordered (cheesecake) not pleasant and £££. Otherwise a great experience thanks.

We went to The Greets Inn for a family get together of 9 people. The service was great, the choices extensive, and the quality was right up there. Friendly staff throughout. Would thoroughly recommend this family owned / run gem. We then took in an hour walk in the surrounding area, leaving our cars in the car park. Lovely day out.

Wonderful little country pub with a warm welcome. Loads of outdoor seating with awnings for cover, usual Sunday roasts with a massive Yorkie on top. Also another menu if you're not into the Sunday thing, definitely recommend the Greets inn if you're free for a leisurely lunch.

This is my sisters favourite place to eat, and I have to agree the standard of cookery was really high. My bavette steak and chips was cooked so well and the peppercorn brandy sauce was also perfect. The Picpoul rose is a really lovely wine, I would highly recommend. Dad enjoyed his liver and bacon. My sister had the girls cheese tart which said said was nice, it's not a huge portion so a good choice for a lighter dish. Lovely service and friendly staff.

Visited today as a party of 12 for the first time, rarely leave reviews but everyone on the table was blown away by the quality of the food and the service from our waitress and the team. Everything tasted so fresh and extremely high quality with local produce. I had the fish and chips and it was incredible. Soft, light crunchy and delicious. There were many compliments on the roasts being delicious too. The service was a level above what you usually expect, our waitress was warm, friendly and was great at her job, explaining the dishes and the produce. We're local and are so pleased to have found this gem. 100% recommend.

A massive thank you to the Chequers Inn - a beautiful little pub in the country side with lovely grounds. We came to the Chequers to celebrate my hen do and it was perfect from start to finish. The table set up was perfect and the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating - I couldn't fault them in any way. The food was simply delicious - compliments to the chefs! The steak was the best I've had in a long time. They were very accommodating with food intolerance and dietary requirements. We'll definitely be visiting again soon.

They even do interesting cocktails, like a Hugo. Never heard of it before, but the Wife gave it two thumbs up!

Lovely place with friendly staff. We ordered king prawns and soup of the day for the starter. The king prawns were brilliant but the soup of the day was just ok. For the main course, the Sirloin steak was a bit salty but the calf liver was really good. We ordered ice cream for Dessert. Highly recommended. We were very satisfied with the a mount of food we were given.

This place is brilliant. The service was very attentive, food great, and atmosphere buzzing. Also, the Guinness was exemplary with clearly well cared for lines. The fires were roaring and we were very comfortable on a freezing cold miserable day. The desert especially was so good with loads of custard!!! Happy wife! Will be back

After a long walk from Hornbrook to Warnham I decided to go for a pint and some lunch at the Sussex Oak. Beautiful day and lovely pub garden to enjoy the calm environment. Seemed like cyclists and families enjoy too as it got busier. I had a prawn baguette. So fresh and the salad and coleslaw plentiful. Friendly service too from the young lady and the landlord. Have told the family we must go together having spotted they have a ploughmans on the menu!!! 😋😃

food was very undercooked, staff were understanding of this, but wouldn’t refund the sandwich meal because it was half eaten (bear in mind most of thats spat out because we realised it was raw) and the place was deserted, they had plenty of time to cook the meals but chose not too.

A huge thank you to Andy and his fantastic team for hosting a wonderful evening for over 200 swimmers and their families. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided a well organised and plentiful buffet service, covering a variety of dietary requirements to a large number of hungry people! The evening was a big success and so many people have asked me to pass on thanks and to say how lovely the food was. The inflatables were a huge success with the children and the space was perfect for our requirements. We would highly recommend the Bax Castle for any function, they really did pull out all the stops. Thank you from Atlantis Swimming Club, we hope you will have us back again! Went here on a Saturday with our family. Sat in the indoor area. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was really nice and reasonable. Took a while to get the food but this was fine... It was very busy!! Our son enjoyed the bouncy castles. What a lovely family focussed pub - we look forward to coming back.

We have come for the Halloween crafts and are amazed at the effort they have gone to. There are multiple tables with different activities on each - we have been here for three hours already and no sign of boredom yet - so much to do and all for under £8. Dad is happy aswell as the beer is good!!

Really poor experience. Rude kitchen staff sending servers to tell customer they are "too busy" to correct the order when they get it wrong. No adults present running the place. It seemed like it was the first day of work for everyone. I've giving the place a 3 star service score because at least the servers were clearly very sorry. It was bank holiday August weekend and the place was half full and the kitchen said they were too busy. They clearly didn't either have enough or the right staff. Very upset with the whole experience.

Stopped here while completing a cycling ultra. They sold beer, they sold pizza. Perfect. The pizza came surprisingly quickly and while it was a very odd flavour it tasted great and compltely hit the spot. Lots of stuff for kids to do. My son would have loved the placed when he was younger. Also somewhere much more peaceful for people without kids to sit though.

Visited the bax castle a few times now, what a lovely place it is! All of the team are extremely friendly & helpful & the pub itself is in a beautiful setting. Perfect garden for summer and cosy interior for the colder months. I would definitely recommend this place!!

Crown is a traditional British pub in West Sussex, run by a family team who are passionate about providing high-quality food and drinks. The warm and casual atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy hearty British eats and draft beer. The pub has received positive reviews for its delicious home-cooked meals, well-stocked bar, and attentive staff. Visitors have praised the excellent quality of ingredients used in their dishes, with particular highlights being the venison and steak.
We had a fantastic experience at The Crown in Horsham! Chef Dilen truly impressed us — the food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. You can really tell there's passion in the kitchen! The service was just as good. The waiting staff were warm, attentive, and always greeted us with a lovely smile, which made the atmosphere even more welcoming. We've been to many pubs, but this one definitely stands out as one of the best. We're not local and just decided to have a walk around as we pass the area but I highly recommend this place — we’ll definitely be back!

Waste of over £30+ Firstly we waited over 50 minutes for our food. Steak sandwich had about 4 pieces of steak in it and the mustard was horrible. The salad consisted of an entire bag of rocket. It didn’t contain the potatoes it was meant to come with and the chicken was dry. There also no dressing. Annoying when you have to spend over £30 for inedible food.

I would avoid this disorganised pub like the plague. Popped in for the lunchtime meal deal. What followed what shambolic, a 45mins wait in a virtually empty pub for two sandwiches and chips. Eventually when the food arrived my steak was swapped for a chicken BLT (not quite sure how they guess I would like this without consenting to the order change). I was then told by the server he thought he spoke to me, hardly difficult in an empty pub to get this wrong. My partner cheese toastie arrived which frankly resembled toast , hardly the ‘medley of mature cheddar, Gouda and Emmental with bechamel sauce’. This toastie looked panicked stricken. Overall £24.50 later feel robbed. No customer service just a meaningless ‘sorry’. Sort it out Greenking!

Alan served us today, he was absolutely amazing. He was very kind, & considerate and extremely helpful.Excellent service. Emily, at the bar, was also fantastic, , she recommended what’s good, on the menu and was very kind. The pub, is dog friendly, and has a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend & will be coming again. Thanks so much Alan & Emily

Really lovely place. A member of staff was so helpful in giving the child in our group an activity to do which was really helpful. Although he said they used to do colouring they didn’t anymore, a few minute later he turned up to our table with paper and crayons saying this was the best he could do. But it was amazing. Thank you.

Alan and Lisa created a really nice warm and friendly atmosphere and were very attentive to create an all round great vibe. A credit to the green king chain. Will return to Horsham for a relaxed look oasis of calm from a shopping trip. Drinks especially the level head were brought over as we had an infant and dog. Very kind and refreshing. Tasty food as usual, but what really makes the trip worthwhile ,is the fab service of Lisa. Always friendly, polite, helpful and professional. She's an asset to the pub and my granddaughter adores her, as she makes the effort to chat to her too. Been going here for years and her service is always the same, even when working alone and rushed off her feet. I do hope the company appreciate and value her.

The Broadwater is a delightful spot that truly embodies warmth and hospitality. Guests rave about the friendly staff, particularly Diane and her team, who consistently deliver fantastic service. The venue boasts a vibrant atmosphere with ample seating, pool tables, and numerous TV screens for sports enthusiasts. It's also dog-friendly! Many visitors have enjoyed their Sunday roasts here, especially praising the delicious beef and perfectly roasted potatoes. The ordering process via app is seamless, making it easy to enjoy your meal without hassle.
Called in for a Sunday roast. Diane and the rest of her team were absolutely fantastic. The outside areas were clean and fresh, but we chose to eat inside. Equally as clean and welcoming. We ordered on the app. Drinks arrived quickly and with a smile, and the food wasn't long after. I had the beef Sunday roast, and it was delicious - particularly the roast potatoes!! Thanks Diane and team. I don't often go for a Sunday roast when I'm out, but it was definitely a good choice. (PS, sorry, remembered to take a photo part way into eating 🙄)

Large pub, nice atmosphere. Showing sport but unobtrusively. App which actually works. Quick, efficient service. Lovely food. Good variety of drinks, but stop chilling your real ale! It's meant to be served at room temperature. Food came quickly, order correct, hot, portions not too big. Recommend for quick pub lunch. Plan to return for open mic night. Dog friendly. Free WiFi

I popped in a couple of weekends ago and was served by Caitlin, who was really welcoming with a huge smile and great chat. It was such a warm atmosphere back in my old area that I came back in on the Sunday with my folks and we had a snack. I went for the beef sandwich, which was absolutely awesome! The jus/gravy that was with it was so delicious! Thank you to Caitlin and the team! See you next time I'm down in Worthing!

We came here by accident and managed to find parking nearby in a cheap p&d car park. Welcomed by a lovely lady behind the bar, who also advised us of the sports app for discounts off our next drink. We sat out the front and ordered via the app. Very simple process. We were shortly brought condiments by another young lady, who had a nice cheery manner. The venue itself is wonderfully clean, quite spacious with plenty of seating and well-kept toilets. Our food arrived, I had the katsu chicken burger, and my partner and friend had the fish and chips with peas and curry sauce with one portion of bread and butter. I think so far, this has to be the nicest greenking food I have experienced. The burger was large in size, cooked perfectly with a little crisp, and the accompanying chips and sauce were very good. My partner and friend also said their food was very good. We would 100% visit this venue again and absolutely recommend it to those looking for somewhere new to try.

Thought we’d try a place we hadn’t been to! Turned out to be a bad idea. I was served the smallest glass of Prosecco I’ve ever seen and charged £6.50 for it!!! When I questioned the server she said she could do more but then was stopped by another server who was unnecessarily rude said that’s the only size we serve. Safe to say we won’t be returning.

Went for lunch on Saturday around 2pm. Ordered food, burger and toastie, was told a 30 minutes wait. After 40 minutes still no food. Asked the bar staff who looked stressed who said it won't be long. After 50 minutes I went to the bar to ask for a refund. Was told had to wait for manager who was serving. When manager came, he didn't seem to be really interested and offered the refund, for food only. The least you could've done was refund a cup of tea etc. He then spent a long time telling me that if no refund went through to contact head office and not direct with them. He finally apologised for the no food. As we we're leaving the server brought 'our ' food which was the wrong order. Hopeless, get better staff and show you care. I will not return.

Very popular place for a drink. Large area so plenty of seating but we walked out last Saturday after seeing it was heaving and we wouldn't find a table anywhere. Visited other times during the day and it is a different story - much more relaxed and quiet.

What a disappointment today, we arrived around 12.30pm, we were are party of three, we ordered two steak sandwiches and one BLT sandwich, we waited 40 minutes for the food, when it did arrive, the sandwiches were cold, the filling in all of them were non existent, chicken was dry, very little bacon, also two tiny pieces of steak , the sandwiches cost £11.00, it was shocking. The serving staff were taking the brunt of customer complaints around us too. I felt sorry for them, our server kindly compensated us with a free coffee and mini desert. Which was delicious. Just to add to the disappointment we paid a visit to the ladies toilet, which hadn’t been cleaned or checked since Friday, there was evidence as the bin was full of Halloween costumes. So just to finish, please for other customers sake you must sort all these issues out, or you’ll lose tire bar staff too. Mrs Ager

The Farm Tavern is a charming and cozy neighborhood pub located near the seafront in Hove. Despite being owned by Greene King, it has a unique and friendly atmosphere that sets it apart from typical chain pubs. The pub offers a wide range of drinks, including local ales and quality cocktails made by skilled bartenders. On Thursdays, they have a special offer on margaritas. The menu features delicious pub grub, Sunday roasts, and sharing plates.
Popped in for the first time, based on previous reviews and I have to say that we were not disappointed. The size of the Roasts were immense, normally I would have been defeated but I was on a mission.....the Piggies were perfect, the cauliflower & broccoli with the added Polish Kielbasa were sublime, adding a meaty smokiness to the dish. I finished up with the Apple Cake - a big portion and a large Żubrówka with Apple juice and fresh mint. Hats off to the chef and the team, we had a wonderful lunch and finished it off with a walk on Hove seafront

Our local friends enjoyed a good meal on their last visit, so they brought my friend and I visiting from Manchester for a Sunday dinner. The wait time was ridiculous. We eventually got told it was because they had to cook more potatoes. The servers were apologetic and kept offering to get us more drinks- turns out, not a single round was on the house. After an hour and a quarter, our food finally arrived and, boy, what a disappointment. As you can see in the picture…it’s not a complete roast. There were two sad, shrivelled carrots hiding under the tepid, chewy beef. Spring greens are, in my opinion, a cheap cop-out unworthy of being on a Sunday dinner plate. And that curled-up thing at the back? That was my Yorkshire pudding. I could tell our friends felt really awkward. My meal wasn’t worth half the price tag of £19. What a farce.

Totally recommend this place, we came down from London for the day and found this place through a recommendation on TikTok. Staff were lovely and welcoming, the pub felt cosy but not like you were on top of other tables (we were upstairs). We ordered the pork and the tofu pie, the food took a while but we knew this might be the case when booking and it was so worth it! Great roasts and cauliflower cheese, everything tasted freshly prepared and it was so lovely having two veggie options to choose from! Also had the biggest Yorkshire pudding! Good value for money too :) Will definitely be recommending this place to friends visiting :)

It was my very first time visiting Brighton, (and the Great Britain, in fact) and since it was on a Sunday, I knew I had to try Sunday Roast. So I did a little research in advance and found this wonderful place that served amazing dishes. The atmosphere and music were amazing, and all the staff were warm and welcoming. I booked in advance and good thing I did because the place filled up quickly. I had the Roasted Chicken, Truffle cauliflower cheese, and Bloody Mary. All were a delightful experience. I especially loved the way they cooked their roasted chicken- sooo moist and the potatoes….. so crunchy..!! Gravy went really well with everything. The servings were somewhat huge for me, and I felt terrible for leaving behind the leftovers because my train back to London was scheduled much later that day and I knew I couldn’t eat during the day between my sightseeings. But I would love to go back one day and take the time to devour the roasts!!

What a lovely place to enjoy~ Just simply an incredible place to eat, the food was too fantastic that I couldn’t stop eating and so I accidentally stayed for 2 hours. There was a kind, friendly guy that took the order, he should be a French-speaking since he talked to me in French, and so I talked to him in French for the rest of the duration.🫢 Thai chilli squid—— 10000/10 💞 It’s the best thing I’ve ever had simply, it was so good that I continuously ordered that for 3 times! Just so crispy and it was just flavourful 🫨 Crab sushi 🦀 🍣 8.5/10 I like the sauce, it was flavoursome and that was just so obsessing with those crunchy crabs 🦀, and also if you pour water in the jar, it will have a “dry ice effect” where a lot of smokes will come out (you can see that from my 3rd pic) Spicy Tuna Sushi 🍣 9.5/10 I just LOVE the spicy sauce 🌶️, it was super addictive, and the tuna was also incredible!!!!! There’s also the “dry ice thingy 🧊” and it was wholesome👌 Salmon sushi 🍣 6.5/10 I did not took a pic for it (I just forget everything whenever I eat😵) I thought it was going to be great (since most of the salmon sushi I had in my life were exceptional), but the rice was sadly flavourless. The rice is actually an important part of a sushi. Wish they could add some vinegar or some other flavour to make it taste better. The salmon was great though, a real big piece and taste not as bland as the rice 🍚. Friendliness: 10000/10 Food: 8.5/10 Clean: 8/10 I actually love it 🧡

Have visited The M Bar before and had a lovely time. I booked a table for me and a friend last night and confirmed the booking via email. On arrival, I was told the kitchen was busy with an event upstairs and they wouldnt be serving food. Why allow me to make a dinner reservation if you're not serving food. A phone call ahead of the booking would have been polite. As I turned to discuss with my friend, the waistress simply walked off, so we went somewhere else.

Went to the toilets which are combined male / female with male on the left & female on the right. No one was waiting. Females were full & I went to go in the male cubicles & as physically removed by male security. I stated that this was the first time I’d been out since having a hysterectomy & as there were no men waiting I needed to use that toilet (in the same area as the females) he physically moved me out of the cubicle & told me to wait. A female toilet the became available & he said there you go whilst laughing. It was embarrassing & humiliating. The manager spoke with me & gave me & my friend a free drink which didn’t make up for the behaviour experienced. He laughed at me & my friend when we exited & made inappropriate remarks. Informed the police who were close by & as we walked by he was still laughing. I’m not a young drunk & am disgusted by this behaviour: completely disgusting get example of humanity. Don’t know his name: should not be allowed to be around the public. Clearly the manager did not address the issue is he felt ok to insult me further when I left.

We came to see Chris Difford on 30/09 and the experience was excellent. It was a gig with unreserved seating, but staff were on hand to help people find a seat. We sat about midway back in the upper section and the view was excellent. The seats were also super comfy! There is a decent sized bar and service was very efficient - I actually managed to get a drink during the interval without any wait at all. The venue is located close to lots of bars, cafes and restaurants and there are takeaways nearby for after. An excellent venue that I will definitely return to.

Really enjoyed visiting this venue and made a dream come true by getting tickets to see American Football on the 1st of July. The venue is nicely laid out, but toilets downstairs could be a problem for some. Lovely open concert room. Narrow Bar for congested before concert room was opened but only for around 10 mins. For a 500 ticket event, we queued around the outside of the building, but I'm sure assistance could be given to anyone with accessibility needs. No heavy-handed security, friendly bar staff. It was a really memorable evening spent here.

Libation is a vibrant and friendly neighborhood spot offering a fantastic lineup of tasty tipples, including cocktails. The menu features fresh, seasonal produce used to create light bites, burgers, wraps, and classic brunch dishes like Eggs Benedict. On Saturdays, you can enjoy bottomless white or rose prosecco and bottled beers for ninety minutes with your brunch. Additionally, they offer delicious roasts on Sundays.
Fantastic roasts! Great service and generous portions. Had the four meat roast and was so happy with it! Best of all four worlds!

I came here to watch the women's Euro finals after booking ahead. Unfortunately they only had one TV the other broke so the whole bar had to watch one TV. My table for three was just a small square bar style table with three stools. I knew this would not be adequate for three people to eat...but don't worry they solved this problem by closing the kitchen early so we were only able to have some chicken wings. They were really nice but with beer wine and wings on such a small table unfortunately we spilled the bottle of wine. The staff was great to clear away the mess but ultimately should have been given another bottle to replace the spilled one as the table was so tiny. I also had my assistance dog with me and she was constantly being hurt by people walking past, even though I had asked and stated we wanted to sit away from people. All in all of I just came for drinks it would have been good but the fact that's it's a restaurant too was a shame. I might come back on a normal evening - I know the finals is a big event and it might be better on a regular night. As such I'm struggling to give 3 stars.

Really cool bar with a good choice. We've been here a few times including at Christmas when they had the tastiest mulled wine with real cinnamon sticks. Delicious! Some may say it's a bit on the pricey side but I say you get what you pay for. Love this place and definitely recommend it.

Enjoyed a wonderful roast with my family on Sunday. Grate portions that left me full to the brim, I had the pork belly that was beautifully tender with a perfect piece of crackling on top. It's really nice to see free-range pork on the menu and it was the star of the show. The place was clean and modern with friendly and accommodating staff that were more than happy to welcome my 18 month old daughter. I'll be heading back soon to try the other roasts and see what dry aged beef is like.

Pub
The Malt Shovel pub has consistently offered great live music, and it seems to have improved even more when the owner appreciates it. The atmosphere is a mix of metal and grunge, which may not appeal to everyone but still creates a vibrant environment. In addition to a packed crowd, there is also an outdoor garden available. The beer selection is diverse and satisfying, with Guinness priced at £5 per pint—a great deal.
Excellent little pub that has 'boozer' written all over it - and that is a very good thing. Selection of beers, ales included were excellent and the staff that serves them are fantastic: chatty and funny. Ancient old flagstones on the floor as you enter from the street with the rest being of polished wood - and there is an outdoor area out the back. This place just has so much character and this includes it's regulars, you just want to stay and chat with everyone. It has regular live music as well, which is just another plus in my book. The Langham Brewery Arapaho was excellent as was the Guinness.

The Malty is a great live music pub in the town. Normally great local rock bands on Saturday nights and hangover sessions on Sundays. Sam, the landlord, is open to most styles of music and sometimes joins with the bands for a song or two and he has a great voice.

Excellent choice of beers both cask and keg - tonight I drank Jakehead on keg which was superb. Pizzas are huge, freshly prepared and super tasty. Stay in Horsham numerous times a year and always have a meal and a pint here, never disappointed.

We were staying in Horsham just for one night and this pub was only a few steps away from our hotel. How lucky was that. What a great pub, a REAL pub, with friendly welcoming staff, great beer (served in traditional glass tankards) and great pizzas - recommended. Just wish we lived nearer because we would definitely become regulars. Thank you for a great evening.

Dog & Bacon is a historic pub located in Horsham, with evidence of early settlement dating back to 947 AD. The pub has a traditional feel and offers a relaxed atmosphere for visitors. It is known for its warm welcome to both humans and dogs, making it a pet-friendly establishment. While the food menu may be limited, the offerings are well-made, tasty, and reasonably priced. The pub serves home-made pizzas and fantastic chips alongside local ales on tap.
Kathryn and Phil hosted my wedding party and were phenomenal throughout. Kathryn took all the details about the party, offered help with finding entertainment, food and also went out of her way to help decorate for us. Nothing was a problem and my day would never have gone so amazingly without their help. Gorgeous, refurbished pub. The friendliest, most helpful staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone a thousand times over. Thank you Dog & Bacon!❤️

My old local! An old King and Barnes pub that my Grandad remembers from when he was a boy. Still has a traditional feel and they keep great beer. New owners took over in 2023 that serve home made pizzas and fantastic chips - both are well made, tasty and inexpensive. Always try to get back here when I'm visiting Horsham, highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet, friendly pub for lunch or a few beers!

Since the new owners took over this place, it has been transformed. The staff are friendly and helpful, and now it always seems to be busy and has a great atmosphere. The only reason it hasn't got 5 stars is because it doesn't do food, although there are food vans in the car park on certain nights

The Hornbrook is a charming British gastropub located on the outskirts of Horsham. It offers a cozy interior with beamed ceilings, wood paneling, and stone floors, creating a rustic atmosphere perfect for enjoying comforting pub food. The pub also features a spacious garden for summertime relaxation and roaring fires for winter visits. Despite some mixed reviews about service quality, many visitors have praised the well-presented and tasty Sunday lunches as well as the friendly and efficient staff.
The Hornbrook Inn in Horsham is a wonderful spot — warm, inviting and full of character. From the rustic charm of its beamed ceiling, flagstone floors and oak beams to the large garden which is perfect for sunny afternoons, it feels like a place where you immediately relax and settle in. The food is reliably lovely. The menu leans on comforting pub classics — think hearty Sunday roasts, steak & ale pies, fish and chips, generous burgers — all done well, with flavour and care. On several occasions people mention that dishes are “very tasty”, “fresh, cooked as requested”, and portions are satisfying. Service tends to be friendly and welcoming; the staff often get praise for being kind, accommodating, and making the meal feel like more than just food. Some visitors prefer going on less busy times to avoid a slow-service risk, but even then the warmth of the place holds up. All in all, The Hornbrook is a lovely place for a relaxed meal — good food, good atmosphere, and plenty of charm. If you like, I can write a version more geared toward photography or ambiance?

My mum is in a wheelchair. Our server Gary was so good. He made sure we had the right table to accommodate the wheelchair. Mum decided she wanted to sit on a chair, and he asked if she wanted a more comfortable chair & if she wanted a cushion. It really was above & beyond any customer service we have received. The food was delicious, and Gary's customer service made the visit even better. Thank you

I visited with my daughters for one of their birthdays and it was the fantastic service from Liz that made the visit stand out. Liz was friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and made sure we never felt under pressure to rush. She has a natural understanding of what customers want and her genuine, authentic nature shines through. Look after her and play to her strengths, because that sort of personality isn’t something you can teach. The food was nice and we all enjoyed what we had. It’s a regular chain pub, so not fine dining. But you know that when you go to a chain pub.

Don't mean to moan, but had the special of bacon something, essentially pork chop, hash browns and a single egg. I realise the pub has to make a profit on food, but the smallest pork chop you can possibly find, combined with a single small egg and the rest of the play filled up with deep fried potato things is just tight, I know life's expensive but if I'm going out for food spending £30 per person, the portion size doesn't want to feel like it's designed for a child. So 3 stars, staff were nice but food just too small to be called anything other than disappointing

The Onslow Arms is a charming 17th-century pub located in a picturesque village in the Surrey Hills. With its oak beams, log fires, and canalside garden, it offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant serves locally sourced dishes with a mild Moroccan influence on modern British food. The friendly staff, including the owner Jack Forrest Foster, ensure an enjoyable meal for visitors. The pub's spectacular food and canalside location make it a must-visit destination in Sussex.
Just visited your pub for the first time and had your roast beef, best Sunday roast I’ve had, really good!! Had the cauliflower and broccoli cheese with it as well, meal in itself! Three thick slices of beef and plenty of veg, great food and value. Will definitely go back.

Lovely pub right by the canal, the sun was shining so we enjoyed our views outside. Lots of tables outside if you want a drink/food before or after your walk. Just stopped for a pint whilst cycling past. It was a nice sunny day and I sat in the garden in the shade. The pint was lovely but expensive. Kinda par for the course in this neck of the woods though.
The N — Google review
The food looked and smelt delicious, but after a 90+ minute wait with no food and poor service, we left hungry, frustrated and feeling unwelcome. After recently moving to the area, we were looking forward to trying the Onslow Arms. We ordered two mains and waited patiently, even as tables that arrived well after us were served. After over an hours wait and asking multiple times on the status of our order, we were finally told it would be another 25 minutes wait – nearly two hours in total. At no point were we warned about delays, and no explanation was given. Other tables who had ordered the same menu items over 45 minutes after us were already eating, and staff offered little in the way of updates or empathy. It was clear we weren’t the only ones having issues, with a growing group of us around the bar in a similar situation. What stood out most was the sheer indifference. The only explanation offered was that it was busy, with no reference to the inconsistent wait times. Staff seemed surprised when they realised how long we’d been waiting, yet showed no real sympathy and made no effort to make things right. Communication was minimal (repeatedly having to chase for updates and answers) and any sense of responsibility or care was completely lacking. Yes, it was a bank holiday, but poor communication and indifference from staff are harder to forgive than a busy kitchen. We’d hoped to bring some friends and family here, but given this experience we shan’t be back and certainly won’t be recommending…
Daniel S — Google review
Absolutely appalling experience. We came here for the first time with high hopes after a nice walk along the canal, it’s a local pub and we wanted to support it but we left hungry, frustrated, and completely disappointed. We ordered just two mains and were left waiting outside for over an hour and a half with no updates. We politely tried to ask the staff member who was delivering other food for an update and were blatantly ignored. Eventually had to go inside to chase it up ourselves, only to be told it would be another 25 minutes. Nearly a 2-hour wait for two meals? That’s completely unacceptable. What made it worse was the complete lack of apology or empathy from staff. No explanation, no goodwill gesture, no basic courtesy, just a shrug and a “wait longer.” We were left hungry and rightly annoyed. A real shame, as we were genuinely excited to try the place and support a local business. But after this experience, we’ll be telling friends and neighbours to steer clear. The service was indifferent at best, and utterly rude at worst. Avoid and bring a packed lunch for after the walk instead.

Staff were great and put a lot of effort at making patrons have a great experience. Unfortunately I had to wait for quite a while waiting to buy a ticket and could not get a copy of my receipt. Lovely night out, and the corporate package we had was great. Fantastic Idea to allow people to order their food as part of the package and give free drinks as part of it, instead a of a buffet style like other bowling alleys have done. We had some technical issues and had to swap lanes (and issue correct number of pins down a few times), but this didn't take away from the experience. I would have like to be able to print out or get an email of our teams scores though.
Alex C — Google review
Here are the reasons we love The Rec Rink: Layout: it's easy to keep track of the children while you enjoy a coffee or snack. Also, you don't get that maddening sports-centre scenario of people's roller skates, coats and packed lunch spilling out on to the rink and tripping up skaters. Staff: all seem lovely, but a special shout-out to Ant for getting my daughter over her wall-hugging antics in the first 10 minutes of our last visit! (He also found the kids some ear defenders and turned the music down a bit when it was too loud for us.) Location: great for heading out to Horsham Market or the lovely park afterwards. Also.. the place just feels relaxed and 'lived-in' in all the right sort of ways - a rarity in this carefully polished & edited world of 2024! I desperately hope Horsham Council can see their way to reinstating the bowling downstairs, so the Rec Rink can stay past the end of the year. (Having both at once is surely a win-win..?) Let's all make the most of this unique and friendly place in the meantime.

Great venue for Live music events. Large venue with big bar, plenty of seating, dance floor. Also serves bar food & some veggie options. No dedicated vegan dishes unfortunately hence 4 stars. Jane on the bar was very helpful in giving information about the venue 👍 also has a bowling alley upstairs & another bar with pool tables. Worth googling who's performing there.

Good small location to see bands with an intimate atmosphere. Big bar and separate stage gives this place space to chat before and after a gig.

Excellent! This no-nonsense venue is a breath of fresh air for Horsham, and dare I say, the entire of Sussex! A lot of work, thought and money has been put into this venue, and it shows. It really does have it all!! laser quest, bowling, and two new fantastic bars. The Rec Rooms and Clubhouse on the lower levels are simply mesmerising, it's the attention to detail that make these venues unique, the decor is on another level. The new manager is very welcoming and knowledgeable, but by the same token appears to have a zero tolerance to anyone wishing to upset the friendly atmosphere that has been built. The live music venue has a good selection of craft lagers, beers and spirits and one hell of a sound system!! There is even a chill out room if you still want to hear the music but need a minute of calm from all the dancing. The Clubhouse shows both BT and Sky sports on multiple screens. The food is exceptional! It boasts 6 high quality pool tables and 3 dart boards. There is a car park directly outside, this does however get a lot of use from people heading into town so can get busy, if you don't mind a 5 minute walk through a beautiful park there are other public car parks around the perimeter of Horsham park. There is close by public transport which is an added bonus! I hope this place is here to stay!!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Brighton, Apiary is a delightful newcomer to the cocktail scene that has quickly captured the attention of locals and visitors alike since its launch in 2024. This charming all-day bar and restaurant draws inspiration from bees and honey, creating an enchanting atmosphere that reflects their passion for these industrious creatures.
This place is an absolute gem! I always feel welcomed here, whether I’m stopping by for a quick breakfast on my own or bringing friends along for a little celebration. I must admit, I’ve never been a fan of honey, but every dish and drink I tried here had my taste buds dancing. The combination of different ingredients and textures works perfectly. Myself and my wife had a beautiful date day here, it was our first time to the venue and the service from Alistar and the team was second to none. The food can only be described as heavenly and when you look at the cocktails you can really tell that a lot of thought has gone into them completing the whole experience, we started with a non alcoholic option and I moved over to a well balanced Smokey margarita. We had the taster menu and managed to sample a lot of the dishes and were blown away by not only the flavour but the presentation. The chefs have really nailed the food in this place, congratulations to the team, this place is truly a hidden hive!

I loved it here. As a solo dinner, some places make you feel awkward and out of place, but I felt as welcome as everyone else here, and the service was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was really nice. The food was delicious, with special mention to the Harissa chicken thigh. The absolute winner though, was the honey toast with pear and poached rhubarb and lemon ricotta. I don't say this lightly, it was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. Good selection of alcoholic cocktails and non/low alcohol and they even have a non-alcoholic mead. I love that this place is bee themed, and the honey used comes from local beekeepers and is owned by beekeepers. I love bees, and its fantastic that they've created an over-arching bee themed restaurant with such wonderful honey based food. Would wholly recommend!

This may be my new favourite cocktail bar! Booked a table for a few pre dinner drinks, extensive menu of drinks and they bartenders also say they can make any classic drink off menu if wanted. My go to cocktail is a Martini and the House Martini is simply exquisite- a “freezer door” pour so the drink is ice cold and thoroughly enjoyable! The ginger and chilli margarita is bordering on obscene with how good it was - the perfect combination! Service was so attentive and friendly. Will be back for sure (and it’s recommended to book a table in advance as the bar filled out fairly quickly).

I'm not a pub girl, but apparently I'm a cocktail bar girl. This place was so reminiscent of hipster Bars in Brooklyn, all the way down to the international wait staff with great hair and mustaches to boot. Really vibey pub. The staff were all very friendly and the place looked very clean. I loved that they had board games to play. The menu was great and included a heap of vegetarian options. The food was delicious as well as their drinks. I definitely would recommend to anyone who is in Horsham.

We will come here again. Music was not loud and allowed us to have a nice chat. I don't do well in places where the music is loud because of my hearing so this was a perfect balance of music, atmosphere and conversation. We both really enjoyed our signature burgers. Ni served us at the bar and table and was the perfect balance between friendly and also allowing us to enjoy our meal. Thanks Ni.

We stopped here on a Monday afternoon, and so glad we did. The whole vibe of the pub was amazing, the pub garden especially. It is so well decorated and inviting for all ages. The food menu was extensive and really cool, they had so much choice for meat eaters and veggies / vegans. They had a lot of specials on during the time we were there so price wise it was really good value.

We went here for a Brewery Experience Day. I was bought a voucher as a gift. It was a great day, for a novice or an experienced ale drinker there is something for all to learn. You don't just spend an hour or two having things pointed out to you then a sample and off you go. This is a proper hands on experience, where you add the ingredients and get stuck in actual brewing beer. Charlie the brewer was fantastic, really friendly and knowledgeable about every step of the process and giving tasting notes. He is obviously very passionate about his job and it shows. The day started at 10am with a delicious bacon sandwich on home made rosemary focaccia bread. You get the brewing process started and then are quickly supplied with a half pint of their beer, and they keep coming. All different styles of ale and lager, every one delicious. Lunch was included too, we went for the beer battered cod, with their own beer and it was delicious. The day ends about 5pm and you get to take a 5l mini keg of your choice. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and I wouldn't hesitate to go back, it is family friendly, dogs are welcome too, great food, great staff and service. Cannot recommend it enough!

Decided to try out the restaurant here after enjoying a visit to the pub last month. Tom (our waiter) was very helpful and polite, looked after us really well (even managed to get me ice cream and custard on my dessert 🤩) he was knowledgeable about the drinks available and kindly gave us a couple of small samples to taste and chose the best options for us. The food was lovely and freshly prepared, we went for the five starters (and side of chips) between the two of us which was a great mini taster of a whole variety of the foods on offer and we really enjoyed the quality of everything (my only mini bug bear was that the oil and vinegar dip was heavy on the oil and light on the vinegar, but that's just my preference and it was still delicious!). All in all a lovely evening out with the wife with top marks for service (thank you Tom!) drinks options and food.

Went to one of the beer tasting experiences and it was fantastic. The bar staff were super friendly and informative on what you were drinking and the food was ridiculously tasty and came in massive portions! Would recommend to anyone who loves food and beer - also made a great gift too.

Hadn’t been here in 10+ years and wasn’t sure what to expect but have to say it was a superb Sunday lunch. Very well priced, big portions, friendly service and great tasting food. We’ll definitely visit again, possibly on another day to try out the standard menu

Came here to meet a friend on a Saturday afternoon as it was roughly halfway between us. It was the first time we'd been. As it was a lovely day, we opted to sit outside. There was a canopy over some of the seating area -perfect for shade lovers. We both wanted a light bite so we for sandwiches. I had the beef brisket toastie with chips. It was one of the most incredible pub lunches I've ever had! The toastie was FILLED with beef, the sourdough bread was divine and the chips were delicious! I couldn't finish it all and couldn't even find room for dessert 😭 When the bill came, I was honestly shocked. For the brilliant service, quality and amount of food, I'd expected it to be a lot higher! I'll definitely be recommending the Fox Inn to local friends and hopefully meeting my friend here again soon so I can try the treacle tart I desperately wanted!

It has taken a long long time to find a pub that serves a Sunday roast worth recommending. At the Fox Inn it was perfect. We hadn't booked so it was a chance we took and it paid off. Next time we go we are definitely booking so we are not Disappointed. We arrived about 20 minutes after it opened and after we sat down it was a steady stream of people arriving. Definitely pre book if you can. The menu was a good mixture but I had the chicken breast roast and we also ordered the lamb roast. The food arrived in about 10 to 15 minutes. The food tasted great. Veg wasn't overcooked and the gravy was just right. Its the closest I've tried that matched home cooking. Thanks to the staff and we will be returning.

Weekday lunch time. Met a family member. Looking forward to the schnitzel I had last time. Not on menu so decided on chill con carne. Disappointed is an understatement. Runny, hardly any beans,a dollop of sticky rice, runny cream and awful tasting guacamole. About half size portion. Cost,19 quid!!! Utter rubbish. Look elsewhere next time, after 3 visits.

Nice pub! Food was lovely. We had Thai curry and a sandwich. The sandwich was absolutely humongous and on tasty home made sourdough. Curry also good! Good stop off for those cycling/walking the downslink.

The Sunday Roast was good but we’re seated in the outdoor marquee, our table was on uneven ground so had to mainly sit on the uphill side as it felt it could tip. The marquee has no sides so allows the wind in whilst blocking the sun, even if warm ensure you take extra layers. Had trouble getting served drinks, the bar staff just ignore you and servers just cut in ahead of you. Overall food was nice but service and environment not great, hopefully they were just having an off day so may try again.
Craig — Google review
Came recommended, busy, underwhelming, the roast potatoes were cold, Yorkshire pudding looked great only warm due to the gravey which was nice. The fish and chips, chips tasted of cooking oil, fish cooked but the batter was pale n not crispy. For the price disappointing, weren't asked if everything was ok. Good car park.

We had high expectations as food has always been great whenever we have visited. Came here with the family for a meal Saturday lunchtime and did not disappoint. Very delicious food and great service. There was a good variety of veggie options that went beyond standard pub cuisine. I had the vegetarian wellington which was very tasty.

This is pretty, old fashioned pub in a tiny Sussex village. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We had a lunch on a quiet weekday. They have a good menu. My ham, egg and chips was good, but I was a little disappointed that the home cured ham was carved rather thin which makes it taste much more ordinary. Outside they have nice seating a cute little stream. Parking was straightforward, but Sunday lunchtime might be another issue!
Richard C — Google review
We visited the pub for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. We had our baby with us (which we informed them about when booking) and the staff ensured we had a high chair and room for the inevitable paraphernalia little children come with. Pub is full of gorgeous period features and quirks. It is small inside, with different rooms surrounding the bar and a nice patio garden over a stream. Good choice of local ales on tap. We all had roast dinners which were well cooked and presented (enormous portions too!) Parking is very limited as it is a village setting. There are no disabled toilets that I could see and no baby changing facilities. Pub is dog friendly.

The Anchor Inn in Storrington is the only pub in town that has a unique atmosphere. It's been visited multiple times, and it's always great to see familiar faces. The pub is currently undergoing renovations, which are eagerly anticipated. Every visit so far has resulted in enjoyable singing and dancing sessions. Although the food hasn't been tried yet, the menu appears enticing. A group of four recently had lunch there, and they had an exceptional meal with excellent service.
Enjoyed the new Sunday roast menu and the roast beef was amazing. We have a child who is coeliac and they catered unbelievably well for her. We have such trouble wherever we go and her not having a mass selection to eat but they catered just for her. A wonderful country pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

Thank god for new ownership after the first week next year. 20:30 on a Saturday and 8/10 taps are off - only serving Camden and Fosters. Looks like the current owners are just counting down the days…. guess i am now too! 😬

Arrived here today after checking out the website, but it seems due to illness the place is closed until further notice. Website now incorrect as it hasn't been updated, but you can check the Facebook link on it and see what's been going on there instead. While we were there a chap poked his head out of the window and said they might reopen if they can get some tenants, so I think it's fairly safe to say it's going to be shut for a while. I had to give a star rating before Google would allow me to post the comments. Obviously I couldn't rate it, although having a rusty and therefore basically invisible chain across the car park entrance nearly cost us a vehicle repair so one star for not putting up a proper sign :o)

Beware - on leaving the pub on a Saturday evening a large dog attacked me, this occurred without even making eye contact with the owner or the dog. The dog continuously was biting the sleeve of my coat. Luckily it was only my coat and not my arm the dog was biting. No apology was received by the dog owner sat around the bar, or the staff working at the time. For anyone entering especially with young children please be careful as I believe the dog owner is a regular customer. Apart from that, good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. *EDIT* Owners have been intouch and have insured this issue would not happen again, thank you. 2 stars to 4 stars.

D'Arcy's Wine Bar is a delightful spot that offers an inviting atmosphere and an impressive selection of wines, including clearly marked vegetarian options. Guests have enjoyed evenings filled with live jazz music, enhancing the overall vibe of the place. While some patrons noted a lack of vegan food choices beyond olives, they appreciated the quality of what was available. The owner and staff are known for their friendliness and attentiveness, making visitors feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
Had a great night this evening in D'Arcy's, our first visit but will definately be back. Paul the owner was very friendly and introduced himself, very happy and helpful staff. We had the signature cocktail, several wines and a cheeseboard, all great and very reasonable price. Thanks for great service, looking forward to our next visit.

Really love this place, great atmosphere and great wine selection with vegetarian wines marked clearly. Loved the recent Jazz band evening. Would be nice to have some quiet relaxing jazz or piano music on the regular nights to add to the vibe. Only negative for us is that there is no vegan food options other than olives (which were very nice) It would be good if at least the bread was vegan so could be had with the hummus? Just a suggestion. Update: we visited again for our one week wedding anniversary as we saw there is now a vegan option on the menu. I did phone a couple hours before our reservation to ensure that this was in stock and was told yes. Although when we attempted to order it we were told they have run out of the vegan cheese unfortunately, which was disappointing. They were helpful and were able to put together something for us without the cheese which was very yummy still and were offered a discount too. Also I’ve just seen your response about a free sample! Very kind of you, shame I did not see this before our visit on Friday.

Amazing pub, me and my mates were on a walk in the surrounding area and decided to pop in here, we were welcomed by not only the lovely bar staff, but the regulars too. Tom the landlord was a amazing host it is clear he cares for not only the pub and customers but his staff too and it shows. Really good food too got the pork roast, normally I would never have cauliflower cheese but the whole plate was so tasty. Delicious food, great attentive staff, friendly atmosphere. Everything you would want in a village pub. Great for roasts and main meals. Fish is always superb here. I've been many times and book it when my parents are visiting as it's very dog friendly and I know we'll always have a good meal here. I asked for a table out of the way as my parents' dog gets nervous around other dogs and that was very well accommodated. Though in a side room part of the pub, we were as well looked after as the main section - the staff are well trained and attentive. We were able to enjoy a fantastic meal. There is a great range of non-alcoholic options and cocktails. The menu rotates seasonally and there are always delicious specials. They also do great Sunday roasts. You will leave with a full belly!
