The Black Rabbit is a charming pub located on the banks of the River Arun, offering stunning views of Arundel Castle. It provides a delightful setting to savor local ales and a British menu, with dishes made from fresh produce sourced from the family's Sussex farm. The menu features an array of options, including confit rabbit, pork chop with fennel salsa, and honeycomb on mascarpone.
Loved our visit to the Black Rabbit! We had such a great time at The Black Rabbit. The food was amazing, everything we ordered was spot on, and the brownie was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The nourish bowl was great and the harissa chicken. The service really was brilliant, quick and efficient. Everyone was super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Multiple staff wished my friend a happy birthday [as per my request because she hates that], they all came one by one throughout the meal and it was so funny. The location is just stunning. It’s just a lovely place all around. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone in the area.

5 stars for service, was very attentive, friendly and quick. 5 stars for location by the river with a large area of outdoor seating, but equally generous indoor seating. 3 stars for the food because it’s quite tasty but also quite expensive for small portions (over £8 for an average desert) and not brilliantly presented. But mostly because when a table of four on a busy day gets their food within 5 minutes of ordering you know that it’s been sat there pre-prepared waiting under a heat lamp for some time.
Andy W — Google review
Went with my wife and friends there for a Sunday roast. I had made a reservation ahead for 2.45, but we actually got there 20 minutes earlier. Nonetheless, the team was very happy to offer us a table that had just become available. As we sat at the table, Martha - our host, brought us the food and drinks menu. We went with 2 chicken roasts, 1 beef roast and 1 pork roast as well as a side of cauliflower cheese. As for drinks, we got a pint of peach beer, berry refresher, a pint of lemonade and a pint of soda & lime. The two chicken roasts was the first to come, within 15 minutes, however my partner and I requested for the chicken to be roasted a bit more so that the skin is crunchy. The host was respectful of our request and took the roast back to the kitchen for further cooking. Whilst that was being done, the other roasts came. After setting them on the table, we were asked if we needed any more sauces, especially gravy, to which we said yes. The two chicken roasts then came out and then the extra gravy was brought at no extra charge. We had started to eat and Martha came to check in on us. The food tasted very good, however we were still waiting for the drinks to come and for the side of cauliflower cheese. She was kind enough to go and check on both of them. A couple of minutes later, we had everything we needed and began to feast. We chose a table right by the door as it was quite hot. The downside to that was a large group of bikers came to the pub, all of them on Harley Davidsons which were very loud. It must've been 20-30 of them cause they kept coming and coming. Martha checked back on us again and I requested another pint of lime & soda, which was promptly brought to the table. Once we finished our food, all the plates were taken away and dessert menus brought for each of us, however we decided against. We really liked the food and the service. The only downside was the loud noise made by the Harleys, but that is out of the pub's control. Overall a very nice experience and we would happily recommend the pub to anyone for good food and relaxed atmosphere.
Virgil S — Google review
Gorgeous location along the river. Nice outdoor seating under the roof overhang or next to the river. There is plenty of inside seating as well. We recommend having a reservation as itvwas packed on a Sunday. It’s about a mile and a half walk along a beautiful tree lined path from Aurendel castle. SERVICE was very friendly. Food was just so so. Although the roast beef was pinkish. It was a bit tough. The creamed cauliflower was very tasty.

Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. It was really busy but our server India was still incredibly helpful and attentive. Food as fantastic and they had a great vegan option.

Delicious lunch with a view!. Very attentive and friendly service. Food arrived very quickly, good portions and home made deserts highly recommended. Kids and pets friendly.

We tried to go to the wetlands but it was shut so came down here on a whim- stunning location for a pint, didn't try the food but it looked nice. The peach ale was tasty! Perfect for a summers day if visiting Arundel.

Lovely meeting place, great views. I didn't get to try the good as the 1st item was out of stock and my 2nd choice was a sandwich which they refused to serve after 3pm...

The Fox Goes Free is a 400-year-old inn located in the charming village of Charlton near Chichester. The rustic-chic rooms offer free breakfast and Wi-Fi, and the traditional pub food is a highlight for guests. The inn overlooks Levin Down, providing stunning views of the South Downs National Park. With open fireplaces, oak beams, and bags of character, this picturesque flint pub offers a cozy atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
It's been nearly 20 years since my last visit and back then it was always known as a good pub. However, I must say after my visit today it wasn't just good it was fantastic. Great staff, very welcoming and cheerful and the food was excellent and arrived at our table within 15 minutes of ordering and it was very busy due to the great weather. I Won't be leaving it that long to return again. Amazing.

Lovely pub, visited mid week with friends for food and drinks. Service was excellent, friendly staff. Food and drink were great. They have their own ale that is brewed locally by Arundel Brewery. Location is fantastic, views from the garden are lovely. Will return.

We had a wake here and it was great. Lovely setting, beautiful inside and the garden was lovely. The food was delicious, all home made and very tasty! The sausage rolls were amazing!!

This establishment was selected due to its proximity to Goodwood where we were attending an event on late May Bank Holiday Sunday. We stayed for 2 nights with friends and we had a fabulous time. The rooms, the food, the bar and beers plus the staff were fantastic. The manager was very engaging and supported by enthusiastic and attentive staff. I don't know the name but one of the servers was so attentive, she lived in but was exceptional.
Dave R — Google review
An excellent, beautifully presented meal! 5 of us had a superb supper with starters, mains and puds. Every course was delicious. Our favourite starters were the prawn bruschetta, smoked mackerel pate and scrumptious baked Camembert. The lamb rump main was cooked perfectly as was the spicy baked salmon dish. We finished with affogatos which were perfect and all we could manage. The service was friendly and all the staff were knowledgeable and there was a brilliant atmosphere. We always have exceptional meals here whether we visit for lunch or supper. The best food in West Sussex!
Nikki C — Google review
We were returning after many years to this pub with high expectations and lovely memories from last time, however we were met with great disappointment. We waited about an hour for starters, another hour for mains and 20 minutes for dessert. The starter was soup, which was just okay, with initially a very limited choice of other starters (3 other options) after one was unavailable. The smash burger came really watery, burnt, somehow both patties were dry, crumbling apart and the cheese was almost nonexistent. Chips for all dishes were very greasy, cold and uneavenly cooked when arrived. The vegetarian burger was misleading, saying it was a mushroom and pepper burger on the menu (expecting a patty) but receiving a very soggy whole pepper and mushroom shoved between a bun. The strawberry and apple crumble had a very acidic and vinegary tasting base, leaving a weird taste in your mouth. The crumble on top was like a slab of biscuit that had been very unevenly broken up, extremely hard to chew and burnt also. The fact that you’re expected to go up and order everything yourself contradicts the mandatory 10% service fee, which we did not feel was appropriate given our limited and rather unwelcoming interactions with the staff. Overall, very disappointed and would definitely not recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The Pub is a lovely 400yr grade 2 listed Pub with ample free parking. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and good at their jobs. The evening food was very good as was the breakfast.

Come here a couple times every year, and the foods always amazing. Last few times we've been served by a lively chap who always makes us laugh. The views from outside are phenomenal looking over the fields of goodwoods countryside. Always a great visit when in the area.

Pub
The Old Stables, named after the previous buildings on the racecourse site, opened in 1924 and is considered one of the most attractive racecourses in the country. Visitors have praised the wonderful staff, delicious food, and pleasant atmosphere. The meals are described as excellent with reasonable prices and a nice relaxed setting. The friendly and professional service from staff members like Amy E and Ellie has been highlighted as well.
Really lovely food and service. It's not cheap but it's really good quality, and nice and cosy in there too. Nothing was too much trouble. The waitress interacted really nicely with my 5 year old too :) Highly recommend the burger and the chocolate orange dome!

A friend and I met up for a lunch 10 of us in all. The venue although on a busy roundabout was pleasantly quiet and from the inside you wouldn’t know there was a busy road. There is a good choice of zero alcohol which is a pleasant change. The food was varied and for three courses reasonably priced. The pub looks like it’s been here for ages with a pleasant oldie wordily feel to it. The food was delicious with decent portions.

First visit to the Stables yesterday and we were very satisfied with our whole experience. The Stables is very atmospheric, with plenty of seating in various arrangements, a quiet dinner for two or a meal in larger groups is equally accommodated. My husband and I were warmly greeted by Kacie and shown to a lovely table for two in a quiet area, which suited us perfectly. Throughout, the service Kacie was warm, friendly and attentive. She was very thorough in addressing my nut allergy, with additional checks with the kitchen, which inspired reassurance and confidence in what I ate. She was also very helpful in assisting my husband updating his Vintage Inns loyalty app. The food we ate was very nicely cooked, tasty and generously portioned. We ate from the lunchtime offer menu, 2 courses for £16.95 PP. Excellent value, with no compromise on the quality or portion size of food. We've visited 3 Vintage Inns in the last 6 month and each experience has been equally good. Well done one and all. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

Amazing food and wasn't expensive either but definitely worth more than you pay. Service is great too. All staff are friendly and do their best to make sure you're a happy customer. Was served by Dan who was very helpful from the start and then there was Kate who made sure I was happy with everything during my visit. I ordered the roast turkey dinner which came quick but still cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was good too as everyone here seems polite and friendly. Pub is dog friendly too and and holds a dog station with treats and fresh water. Great place to visit with large beer garden to relax in the sun when it's out. Good job guys thank you.

I visited Fontwell, a beautiful area that I rarely see during my trip. And a place that I discovered at first light of the morning was ‘’The Old Stables’’ I think I was the first person to enter the door, ‘’Kate’’ who opened the door with a smiling face and the magnificent breakfast service, nice hot drinks, friendly service, in short, I was very impressed by everything, it is definitely a place that you should visit. The interior design of the place is comfortable and makes you feel at home, of course the smiling service, when all of these come together, a wonderful experience emerges. Thank you ‘’Kate’’ Thank you ‘’The Old Stables’’

Nestled on Shripney Road in the charming village of Shripney, Robin Hood is a delightful pub that captures the essence of traditional British dining. With its family-friendly atmosphere and a menu brimming with classic dishes, it’s an ideal spot for both locals and visitors alike. The warm hospitality from Chris and Eadie enhances the experience, making every meal memorable. Guests rave about their tender steaks and signature burgers, while enjoying well-kept ales like Old Speckled Hen at reasonable prices.
Absolutely delicious food. Very welcoming staff. We sat outside and had our food and drinks in the sunshine, nice seating area. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Robin Hood restaurant! After a long trip from Germany, we were so happy to find this place – and it turned out to be the best choice. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Our waitress Teean was absolutely lovely, attentive and friendly, and Eddie also looked after us with great advice and warm service. They really made us feel at home. The food was fantastic – the fish and chips were perfect: a big, fresh, crispy piece of fish, just the way it should be. The pork belly was also outstanding. Delicious food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere – we can highly recommend the Robin Hood and will definitely come back!

Stayed a couple of nights August Bank Holiday in adjoining hotel. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. A lady that took breakfast orders was very thorough with my partner's food allergies and nothing was too much trouble (forgot to ask her name!) Food was lovely and everyone made our weekend even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend. Lorraine and Dave.

The Robin Hood is without doubt one of my favourite places to go. I’ve been coming here for years and can honestly say it’s long overdue that I leave a review. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed every time I visit. A special mention has to go to Tegan, who is always smiling and never fails to make me laugh — she really makes the experience that much more enjoyable. It’s those personal touches and the consistent great service that keep me coming back time and time again. If you’re looking for a friendly pub with great staff and a lovely atmosphere, I can’t recommend the Robin Hood enough.
Mellofi — Google review
The Robin Hood hosted a 70th Birthday meal, and it was a perfect venue for the occasion. We had young children, as well as 14 adults and they accommodated us in the function room which was perfect. The booking process was simple and they stayed in contact on the lead up to the event. On the day, Scarlett introduced herself as the host and ran through all our meal choices. She was very accommodating and professional, ensuring every question was answered. Louise was the manager on shift and she was really polite and happy to help whenever required. Scarlett and Harvey did a great job of bringing the delicious food out - nothing was missed, everything was promptly and all arrived together. All involved ensured we had a brilliant time and we would 100% book to come back.

Dog friendly with bowls and biscuits for your four legged friend. Good food. Friendly service. Kitchen closes quite early so make sure you're seated by 8:30. Accepts Tescos reward vouchers for Chef & Butler against food.

attended a 60th birthday celebration at the Robin Hood in Shripney on Saturday 27th and had a really lovely evening. The pub had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and was a great setting for the occasion. A big thank you to the bar staff, especially Tegan, who looked after us so well. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Her great service really added to the enjoyment of the evening.

I’ve been staying at the Premier Inn next door and have really enjoyed coming into the Robin Hood for dinner each evening. It’s a friendly, welcoming place with a warm atmosphere, which makes it a nice spot to unwind at the end of the day. A big thank you to Tegan, our server, who has looked after me on most nights. She’s always polite, attentive, and makes the experience even more enjoyable. It’s great to be greeted with a smile and made to feel so welcome.

Restaurant
The George & Dragon, a historic pub dating back to the 13th century in Arundel, Sussex, offers a diverse global menu and picturesque views of the Sussex Downs from its garden. It is one of the oldest pubs in the region, nestled amidst the scenic rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. The pub boasts a charming ambiance both inside and out, with exposed wooden beams showcasing its age.
This place is amazing! We chose here due to the history of the place. The staff were super friendly, they couldn’t do enough to make sure our visit was as good as could be. The only ‘issue’ we had was the car park is so small, and since it was full we had to park down the road and walk along the road to the pub. But overall, the team here are second to none and the three course menu was great value. We loved it here, and we will be back soon.
Lucas — Google review
I'd driven past this lovely, historic pub many times, but had never been here, so we finally visited for lunch today. Staff were very welcoming and attentive, and our food was lovely. The interior is cosy and relaxing, and outside there is a sun terrace and a beer garden, both with sweeping views across rolling hills. By the time we left it had got quite busy, but there was still room in the car park.
Debbie M — Google review
You know sometimes you don't want to mess around, you just need some good home cooked food in a traditional pub. That's exactly what you get here. Exception service, food was delicious and well priced. Beware on the weekend, the car park gets very busy, even with people parking in the middle which caused me 5 minutes trying to get out of my space. Weekdays is plenty of room.
James A — Google review
A historic (see pictures explaining history) find along the South Downs Way. We only stopped in for a refreshing drink late Thursday afternoon (their Pie and Pint night) but wish we had time for more. One of the coziest pubs we've visited in a long time. But, in addition to the welcoming exterior there are back beer gardens with views for miles. Friendly service, good selection of Ales.
Don C — Google review
Found this spot on the off chance travelling home from Seal bay. What an absolute find this was. The most amazing team working there. Food was beautiful, biggest and most meaty, flakey fish with the lightest crunchy ale battered piece of haddock i have ever eaten. Family had homemade beef stroganoff and the homemade burger that was all amazing. Desserts was amazing. One of the best places we have eaten in and the prices just makes it ever better.

Authentic pub, beautiful beer garden, stunning country views. Great beer, food, and service. Highly recommended.

Glorious setting, graced with weather to match. Thoroughly enjoyed a meal to celebrate birthdays and an anniversary. All staff were friendly and happy to pass the time of day despite being busy. We had a four legged friend with us and chose to sit outside but dogs are welcome inside but you're advised to book. We all ended up with the ribeye steaks and they were too die for.. Tasty, tender and slathered in garlic butter (no vampires around here tonight!) Everyone had ice cream for dessert in various flavours, all come highly recommended. A word of advice, make sure you put your handbrake on and maybe leave it in gear if you park at the top of the slope. There were 2 incidents of cars rolling down the slope and hitting cars in the bottom row! Thankfully only minor damage

The Arun View Inn is a laid-back riverside pub with comfortable rooms and a restaurant that offers free breakfast and WiFi. The spacious air-conditioned restaurant provides fantastic river views and can accommodate up to 120 guests. Their team of chefs prepares seasonal dishes using fresh local produce, serving traditional British pub fare, succulent seafood, international flavors, and homemade desserts. The bar offers a variety of drinks including local cask ales, fruit gins, and wines from Sussex and beyond.
The Arun View definitely lives up to its name with its beautiful view of the Arun river. The location is perfect for a relaxing visit, and the fact that they offer free parking is a big plus. The drinks are reasonably priced, which is always a bonus. Although I haven’t had the chance to try the food yet, the menu looks promising. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and there were plenty of places to sit, making it easy to find a comfortable spot to enjoy the scenery. Overall, it’s a great pub with a fantastic view and a pleasant atmosphere.

We stayed in the family room above the bar on the top floor. Nice room, well equipped for our overnight stay. Comfortable beds and good shower. Good size. We ate in the restaurant at lunchtime which was very busy but managed to deliver 3 nice hot meals with good service. Location of the Arun View Inn - close to train station and fab to have the trains go by in front of us. Brief walk to shops and about 15 minutes (nice) walk to the funfair and beach. We noticed they're building a splash pool at the beach which will be a nice touch when finished. Given the time of year it was an excellent price allowing our granddaughter more coinage for the arcade to win the obligatory tickets. If visiting the area again we would stay here. Recommended, but aware that the top floor family room might be tricky if travelling with very small children and a heavy buggy etc.

Stopped for food here as was passing through the area, and it was great. Good atmosphere, great service and a great selection of food. We had the cod goujon burger which was delicious (never had batter so good) and my partner had a beef burger. We also had the whitebait. All cooked perfectly! Very reasonably priced too. This place is a gem!

The Holly Tree is a charming village pub that offers a delightful dining experience. Located near Littlehampton beach, this establishment features an attractive front garden that is likely to be bustling during the warm summer months. Inside, the bar area is roomy and filled with natural light, making it a welcoming space for both patrons and their four-legged companions. The dining area showcases inviting seating arrangements and contemporary decor, creating a cozy atmosphere.
Very randomly stopped here for lunch with my partner, both had the steak burgers and they were absolutely lovely a decent portion of fries and side salad with a perfect amount and tasting dressing. Really helpful with our drinks order very friendly place with seating inside and out. The car park had ample space at that time of day but couldn't comment on busier times.

Gave this place a try around 6pm on a Sunday after having no clue where to go and having made my decision by searching the local area and reading previous reviews; and I'm so glad I did. They held on for me before closing the kitchen and it really was a gem of a find in a lovely village. The place was just brilliant and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. I dined in the restaurant area, which was very nicely done and clean. Being a Sunday and the early evening, I was expecting only roast dinners and for them to be sold out, but in fact they had a wide choice of food and were still able to cater for roast dinners, including specific dietary requirements, which was nice to see. It was such a nice change to find somewhere that was not only decent, but really exceeded expectations. I decided to have a roast in the end and went with the turkey breast and it was one of the nicest roasts I've had, followed by a chocolate brownie and ice cream, which with the biscuit crumb on the side too, was also really nice. I would definitely recommend The Holly Tree to anyone and will be back again with friends and family in the near future, hopefully with the sun shining to enjoy the lovely garden and outdoor seating they have there too.

This was a lively Easter weekend Friday evening and the drinking area was full but the dining area was a little quieter. We had a table for me and my wife and my teenage son. The decor is cosy and relaxed. The waitress was very quick with drinks orders and very professional with taking our food order later. The food was outstanding. Slow roasted belly of pork for me and a fantastic cottage pie with a red wine gravy for my wife. The local beer recommendation was excellent too. We couldn’t fault any aspect of the service or food even on a busy Friday evening service. The pub is in a lovely rural English village with thatched cottages and rustic charm. Would recommend and would return on another occasion.

The food was shocking and the place was filthy. It was empty and you could see why. Haven’t been for a couple of years, it has really gone down hill badly. Extremely disappointing.

An excellent steak dinner and a good bottle of kiwi sav - what more could you ask for. Steak well cooked and seasoned. Chips, crunchy. And even some delightful extras, like a fried mushroom and a baked tomato - with cheese!

Overlooking the breathtaking Amberley Wildbrooks Nature Reserve, this inviting pub is an ideal spot to unwind on a leisurely Sunday while savoring a traditional roast paired with your favorite beer or wine.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the most wonderful experience at The Sportsman Inn in Amberley, West Sussex! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious – hearty portions, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. Between us we enjoyed a mix of classics: proper homemade pies with rich gravy, perfectly crisp fish and chips, juicy burgers, and even a gorgeous baked camembert with warm bread. The kids loved their meals too, and to top it off, the desserts were a real treat – the sundae was especially a hit! The setting is stunning, with lovely countryside views that made the whole meal even more special. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and really enjoy the experience. A special mention has to go to Shaun and the whole team, who were absolutely fantastic. Shaun’s friendliness, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel right at home. It’s rare to come across staff who make such a difference to your visit – but here, they really do. If you’re looking for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and amazing service, The Sportsman Inn is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We recently stayed at The Sportsman Inn and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming – friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the place. The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and made for a really relaxing stay. The food was excellent too, with a good range of dishes cooked to a high standard – hearty, tasty, and just what you’d hope for from a proper inn. Service throughout was consistently warm and efficient, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. It’s wonderful to see this as a community-run pub, with all the staff genuinely invested in making it a success. You can feel that sense of pride and teamwork in everything they do. I wish them every success for the future – it’s a real gem, and I’ll definitely be back. Ideal for walkers/cyclists with great bike storage.

We had a lovely stay at the Sportsman Inn. We walked the South Downs Way and used this as our stopover. It only added 45 minutes onto our walk so it wasn’t massively out of our way. The room had a lovely view of the open farm fields below the pub. The food was very good and the staff were also very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this pub, highly. Thank you for having us!

This community owned pub is a treasure. Real ale engines that are well maintained, local gin and delicious food. We needed a retreat after long dusty fun days at Goodwood Festival of Speed and The Sportsman exceeded our expectations. The community is the treasure. Everyone was very welcoming. This is what makes British pubs great. The staff were so nice too. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well priced. An unexpected highlight was the steam engine festival happening in Amberley. We had two or three separate steam powered tractors show up over a couple days. Nothing but ❤️ for The Sportsman. Long may she live!

Today, it hosts twenty-two days of top-quality racing, making it an essential event in the English Summer Season calendar.
Fantastic afternoon racing. We've been to quite a few courses and this was hands down the best so far. We had hospitality and the experience was faultless from start to finish. Classy and special, but not pretentious. Easy parking a short walk away. Allocated a waiter in arrival, we wanted for nothing. Thank you Dan! The staff were friendly and attentive, but not overly. There was a Tote service to the table plus a Tote desk if you wanted it. Many tv screens so you don't miss any action. The food was exceptional and the drinks were not too expensive. Great views from the balcony. Easy stroll down to the parade ring and several food and drink outlets and entertainment. Didn't take too long to get out of the car park either! Totally recommend.

Had a lovely day here. The only issue was the bookies parked in the middle of the walkway between stands, creating a log jam. Nice parade ring, friendly staff, great viewing, and the added bonus of a figure of eight track. Plenty of food and drink outlets and bars, quick service but slow to get out of the car park as total free for all!

A lovely course, the only true national hunt figure of 8 course in the country. Decent standard of racing, which was very enjoyable. Easy to get in and out of the course, which is right by the. A27 near Arundel. Plenty of bars, though service was incredibly slow. We bought Premier tickets and it's really not worth it. You get access to a bar where the service is slow, and the seating area is small with a poor view.

A great day out for all the family 👪. I don't racing much so I was pleased with the overall quality and friendly atmosphere. The people were amazing, friendly the staff were great. We when for a birthday with young children which I thought might be a problem 🤔 but everyone was great with them. It is a really good day out for the all the family.

This is a wonderful day out at Footwell races. We go at least twice a year and always have a great time. The Boxing Day meet is always full of different characters and it is the stands are packed with fans who love the races.

Five Stars to Fontwell Races even though I lost most of my money (ha ha) what a lovely day had by all. We parked in the middle of the course (£5 charge) and by doing this you can take your own picnic for the whole family including alcohol. There was a free, old fashion fairground with rides for the kids it made a lovely family atmosphere. Now for the racing... the size of some of the races/fields were small in number but the jockeys gave us excitement and frills to enjoy. The great advantage of Fontwell is the configuration of the course it is a figure of eight with great views and in places you could nearly touch the magnificent horses. A top notch day we will return again and again.

Was in Barnham for one day a couple of months back for work. We were working just round the corner, and afterwards came into the pub for a hot drink, snack, and to finish our admin. What a great place. A PROPER traditional local pub. Super friendly staff. Nice chatty clientele. Amazing old building. They catered to our crew well, even though it was unplanned. Wish I could have stayed for a pint and the pub quiz!

Really lovely weekend lunch. Wasn't too busy, and we sat in the garden room with the beautiful views. Great varied menu, and looking forward to returning to try more dishes.

This is an attractive pub with lots of seating for diners. The location is easy to find but the parking is pretty limited and we had to park in the lane as did many other people. The service was generally good, but the young lad that served us seemed to be in a rush and a little stressed, but it was a very busy night. I had the haddock and chips which was very good. My only gripe would be that the tartar sauce was a very stingy portion and served in a completely pointless little jar which made it difficult to get at. The quality of the fish was good. The chips were good and were served in a silly little basket, but it was a perfect sized portion. The mushy peas could have been just put on the plate rather than in a little dish. Food served in baskets, pots, jars and silly dishes is a bug bear of, I don't know why pubs serve their food like this, just put the food on the plate. My friend had the duck which she said was perfect and that came with very nice looking vegetables and new potatoes. I would definitely go back in the daytime to have lunch because I'd like to see the outside of the pub and the views. Overall, it was a very good experience. The loos were clean and the pub is attractive and nicely decorated

Recommended by a friend who obviously have left a last impression on them. I seconded her opinion and glad to be served by friendly and efficient staff. Food were amazing. Lovely location, good menu selection, parking a little tricky when busy. Roast chicken and potatoes were lovely, good quality however when the veg came, it was all boiled. Really strange for a roast to have boiled vegetables because they have no flavour. I would have expected roasted honey glazed carrots, roasted parsnips and cauliflower cheese. The cauliflower was boiled and then some cheese poured on top, very strange. Boiled mange tout, sweetcorn beans and carrots. Desserts were delicious, brownie and creme brulé was excellent. Staff were generally nice although we were taken back when the chap came to take our payment but didn't say anything, just stood by our table waiting, again, very strange. If the vegetables were done differently, this would be a 5 star roast. It was expensive and I didn't feel it was worth the price to be totally honest. 2 course each, bill came to £80 with a tip (one soft drink and one glass of prosecco).

We went here for Valentine’s Day lunch, we had not heard about this pub from anyone that we knew so did not really know what to expect but we’re very pleasantly surprised. The pub has a beautiful outlook from the conservatory style dining area, the views across the golf course and countryside is stunning. We had the baked Camembert as a starter which was delicious. For the main course I went for the pork belly and my valentine had the filo chicken pie. Both dishes were well cooked and tasted as good as they looked. We were made to feel welcome by the team, the service was friendly efficient and professional. One of the best meals out that we have had on this trip, we will definitely visit again on our next trick to the UK. Highly recommended.

Sheiks Night Club, located on the pier, had a minor fire incident in July 2018 but fortunately, it didn't cause significant damage. Visitors have praised the attentive staff who went out of their way to accommodate special requests and make their experience memorable. The club is known for its fun and enjoyable environment with friendly security and a great selection of music played by talented DJs. Guests have also enjoyed themed nights like the Legends drum and bass event, where everyone was buzzing with excitement.
Really enjoyed the Legends drum and bass night. Everyone was buzzing and enjoying the music. Some real good names on the line up. Bouncers were pretty friendly as well to be fair which is good to see. A great night, look forward to the next one. Well done guys.

Went to Sheiks Saturday 1st July. We arrived 11.55 in order to get there before tickets went from £5 to £10. Our ID’s were checked very quickly and all within time, with a couple minutes to spare we were held at the front of the queue by the desk for a couple minutes until midnight had passed. We were then charged £10 each. Very unfair that we were told to wait for no reason other than to charge us extra. The woman at the till was then rude to myself and my partner when all we said was that we had arrived and reached the front of the queue before midnight. When we arrived in, one of the dance floors was closed.

Agresive security team with no respected. They assaulted me and my brother in law last night destroying he's phone. We didnt even understand why and what's happend. We think they just enjoy to treat like that foreigners as actualy first what they said was "don't call me racist" for actually no reason as nobody call them like that. 5vs2 good job boys. Keep it going that way so it can be closed soon hopefully. Terrible place - avoid

So quite simply the only gig in town. It's on a pier which is fun, and has a few different areas. However, it isn't the classiest of joints, but if drinking and dancing are your thing, it'll do the job. Oh, also, even though the security staff can be a little implacable, their strictness is for the punter's benefit. You do feel safe!
Dominic F — Google review
Was very disappointed. Yesterday had my birthday party in there. In the beginning barman sold me a champagne for 10 £, later when I wanted to buy one more next champagne price was 20 £. On my question -why- he said there was some kind of mistake and denied he has served me before .... At the end we bought drinks but after 5 minutes security told us to leave because the club is shutting. We refused to leave as we had full glasses of drinks so they gave us 1minute to drink it .... I have a question - what was that mystery change of price and why bar is still serving if they know they're going to shut the club?!? I'm not an alcoholic who can drink everything in on minute so we just spent our money for nothing 😞
Aija H — Google review
Went here for a night out, as I was on holiday. think it's a bad club, with some crazy people, the security guards didn't bother checking people's bags. Some people falling over and spilling drink everywhere it's not a safe club.

The Red Lion Tavern in Pulborough is a welcoming pub that offers a range of real ales and simple, yet delicious pub food. The interior is tastefully decorated with a modern take on rustic country style. On Sundays, they serve roast dinners which are highly satisfying. Some members of the group opted for roast beef while others enjoyed the trio roast, consisting of chicken, beef, and pork with crackling and bread sauce.
Fantastic service, food and ambience. What more can you ask for when you step into a delightful looking pub for a late lunch. I went for the squid starter and fish and chips main. Delicious. My wife went for the soup and rotisserie chicken. All excellently presented. All scoffed! Rhubarb desert was also fantastic. 5s all round. Recommended.

The food was “OK” but the service on the Friday night we went was slow and inattentive. We made requests for water for the table but that never came. We wanted to ask for a steak knife for the pork belly (not a good sign) but no server saw us trying to wave so we had to find someone. This isn’t a problem if you’re not paying a higher price but we felt for there wasn’t adequate value for money. One positive was the drink and the small deserts. Great idea and went down very well.

We absolutely love this place! The food is always great and the team are so friendly. Dined recently on a Saturday night and the group of young lads working were phenomenal. Especially Charlie and Alfie, they made our evening. It was so refreshing to be served by people who genuinely seemed to love what they do. So chatty and personable. They couldn’t have done enough for us and kept us laughing all evening. They are a credit your team ☺️

We had a meal at The Red Lion and while the food wasn’t quite what we were hoping for, the service more than made up for it. Charlie, our waiter, was only three days into the job but you’d never know it — he was friendly, attentive, and really made the experience enjoyable. The manager was also excellent and handled our concerns with professionalism, adjusting the bill to reflect our meal. Great customer service all around — a real credit to the team!

A wonderful Wednesday lunch at the The Red Lion ! The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming, and lunchtime here is especially comfortable — calm, yet lively. I would like to mention the service separately: we were personally greeted by the manager, which immediately created a feeling of care and attention. She helped us decide on our menu choices. I chose the lunch menu, and every dish was delicious and generously portioned.

Sue L — Google review
We have visited this establishment a number of times and whilst the food is good the service has been inexcusably slow. We had dinner with two friends and without doubt the service was the slowest we have experienced. It was almost an hour before we received our dishes. We had to remind staff to take our order and then bring our food to the table. The same happened when trying to order our sweets. Whilst the staff are very engaging this is overshadowed by the fact the service is so bad. Had the pub been busy we would have been more sympathetic but it wasn’t. I have seen a number of reviews from people all of whom have experienced this somewhat sloppy approach to service. I would have thought by now that the management would have taken steps to improve things as this is dragging the establishment down. If we choose to return we do hope there is a marked improvement.

Just been for lunch ... staff busy eager to assist. Kids play area was good however our food wasn't, Garlic & herbs mushrooms burnt, all food cold, child desert took a long while , it was ice-cream!! Toilets, handryer not working in ladies and no replacement hand dry towels, toilet seat broken in ladies, dated decor in ladies. They have only self service coffee, it wasn't great. It's the 2nd time there and my last as its not improved

The food was very nice, although some bits of my food were luke warm compared to the other bits (I had the mushroom chicken diane thing), it was still delicious, just wouldve been even better if it was hot. No complaints from the other half with his mahoosive fish & chips.

It was OK... service wasn't fast, but wasn't particularly slow either, although the queue for ordering seemed to take a while... (order at the bar after being given a table). Kids meals was 3 courses for £4.99 and the adults meals average about £10, so not very cheap but certainly not expensive either. Staff seemed friendly enough and place itself was again fairly average in terms of tidiness and decor. Food was fine, nothing terrible - we had some kids meals, ultimate filled Yorkshire and sweet potato curry.

Arrived at 6.30pm sat at prebooked table. Firstly the chairs where heavily stained and sticky and the table was absolutely vile 9 babywipes later and it was satisfactory. Ordered food which took an absolute age due to the incredibly rude and unhelpful bar maid. My 2 y/o nephew has a peanut allergy so ordering always takes a little longer but the bar maid seemed completly uninterested and pained by the fact she would have to turn and retrieve a blue folder with allergy information and tutted and sighed at us while throwing the folder towards us then letting out another long sigh while we looked. We ordered food and she looked frustrated the whole time tapping her fingers and sighing!! Comments where made but she didnt give a dam! She then tured to her manager and said can i go home yet and started moaning about customer's. Table of 9 three diffrent orders we asked for them all to come at same time first 3 where quick but then the next 2, 15mins later then the next 4, 45mins after that (we asked and they explained that it had all been cooked seperatly due to allergys which is fully acceptable if they would of all came out then but now this meant the other party meals hadnt been cooked with allergy awareness we weren't very impressed that this now posed a risk to a 2year old who would have an anaphylactic shock!!) after waiting over 45 mins the steak was over cooked taken back then 30mins later it returned by this point we had reached our limit!! Complained they did take money off our bills but this had now completely ruined the start of our weekend away!! Will not be returning and would not recommend also thd toilets where discusting told staff and all they did was replace toliet rolls??!! By far worst brewers fayre we have ever visited. I understand you get what you pay for and its not a 5 star resturant but it was a complete and utter shambles, rude uneducated staff, dirty and unsanitary avoid avoid avoid!!

Had a fabulous weekend family gathering of 15 people and 4 dogs. The rooms and the cottages worked perfectly. All the dogs were welcome. The food was delicious, and the service excellent. All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. A great place to stay.

We had a lovely one night stay here with our two dogs celebrating our wedding anniversary on their 'Muddy Paws' package, which included dinner. I'm not sure if our room was upgraded but we stayed in Flint Cottage, which had a super king bed and a lounge area, which was very charming. The staff had decorated the bed with petals and candles which was a very sweet surprise, they even left us a card on the mantelpiece. There is a little garden at the back where you can sit with a drink and admire the view of the fields beyond, it was so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and Sash deserves a special mention for being so lovely and bringing us espresso martinis!

Lovely country pub in a gorgeous village. Food was very good and excellent value with the Wednesday deal. We stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely, super old and cute. Lovely outdoor area too. Our one slight hindrance was that storage was lacking - no drawers for our clothes and the wardrobe was inaccessible! As we were there for a wedding we missed being able to hang up our dresses. But probably fine for just one night. Overall a wonderful stay!

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding. The staff were amazing, the American lady who settled us in was fab! The lady who served our breakfast on sunday was also so friendly and accommodating :) loved the residents garden, so peaceful and lovely view. The breakfasts were gorgeous! Lots of little extras included at breakfast- 10/10 for breakfast! Loved the cookies in the room, bed was so comfy, products were gorgeous. The pub itself was beautiful. Great beer gardens

Just returned from a short stay at the Royal Oak in East Levant and couldn't be happier. We stayed in Flint Cottage, which was perfect, cosy, comfortable, and ideal for a quick getaway. The food? Absolutely top-notch. Far beyond typical pub fare, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Service was brilliant throughout, and we want to give a special shout-out to Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she even made an excellent pink gin. A real star! Thanks to all the team at the Royal Oak for making our stay memorable. We’ll be recommending this gem to friends and family.

Disappointing Food Experience, Despite Good Service. My partner and I recently went out for dinner at the Royal Oak, a visit we'd both been really looking forward too. To start on a positive note the staff were great, friendly and attentive , which we appreciated. My partner had the burger, which was just OK, nothing particularly memorable but not bad either, Unfortunately my meal was a real disappointment. I ordered the pie of the day, which was steak and ale with mash. The beef inside was cut into very small pieces and was incredibly dry with no sauce or gravy at all. Something i had never encountered a steak pie before. there was also no taste of ale and it honestly seemed like it might've been left over from the Sunday roast. The pastry overcooked and dry as well. The mash was grainy, clearly not properly mashed with no butter or seasoning and the accompanying vegetables were just as bland, again lacking any seasoning. Overall the food was very underwhelming and not up to the standard we were expecting, its a shame as the staff were good and we had hoped for a much better experience.

Really warm and friendly welcome, with prompt and efficient service. Great food, dinner and breakfast excellent with very good menu choices. Comfortable rooms in charming traditional pub. Quiet village plus bonus of a few Low flying Spitfire passes. Hope we'll go again soon.

Sunday lunch at The Royal Oak. Second time we have been. Great location. Off the beaten track. In Goodwood's back yard. Lovely interior, good food, not the cheapest around, great atmosphere and staff. Served by Sash, Tatiana and Joe who were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Dog friendly too. Will be back again.

Called in yesterday after a shopping trip in Bognor Regis with my friend, I had Lemon Sole with mashed potatoes & sauce with salad dressing, my friend had the gammon with mash, salad dressing & peas, our lovely bartender/waiter was extremely pleasant & patient (as my friend has a delicate tummy) he really was & is a boon to the public house, wish there were more public houses like yours in out hometown. Absolute 5* for food, presentation, price & service. We will return for sure. Thankyou once again. 🥂

The Black Horse in Climping is a charming pub with a lively bar and cozy corners, offering delicious pub food and featuring seven delightful guest rooms. It's popular among locals and visitors to Bailiffscourt. While the drink selection includes local brews, the menu highlights high-quality local produce. The renovated building has a new look that will mellow over time. The staff is friendly and efficient, although parking can be challenging, and some areas may need improvement for comfort.
Can't fault the dinner we had there the other night. Recently thoroughly redesigned and redecorated . The dining room is large and spacious , tastefully redecorated with comfortable seating. The bar is close by , and a large patio , lit with seating and rooms too. Soft music playing in the background , the murmur of conversation ( please no mobile phones ) . But now to the menu. Fantastic choice. Great service from a small team too. Have the whitebait it was delicious. Huge whitebait in batter with a dip. Also the Cod taramasalata. Both delicious. Then the steak and the fish n chips. Local lager available from down the road too. Too much choice on the menu which is great. When we left I had had a great time , really enjoyed my dinner and my evening out. The room looks superb to , all recently redecorated and reasonably priced. All in all a first class restaurant, well done Sam and Chloe and team. I'll be back very soon.

We did not stay over so cannot comment on rooms. We came to have a late roast dinner, which in my experience isn't always wise as you often experience missing menu items as ran out or, tough meat or similar. Happy to say I was pleasantly surprised, the meat was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Roast spuds had a great flavour and although they had ran out of parsnips, they were replaced with foc Cauliflower cheese, perfect. I can only say they had too much cheese left as my portion to finish my meal was HUGE , you won't hear me complain as I love cheese, so for whatever reason that was, thank you. Service was impeccable, the pub itself lovely inside and out and in a amazing setting. So, highly recommended from my wife and I.

Summary: overpriced meal! Bizarre setup- that if you eat in the restaurant.you are served but if you drink and eat outside or in the bar you serve yourself and pay etc each time at the bar . And still pay the same service charge The decor has been invested in so it looks smart Good ales Food is very average, limited (slightly fancy) menu . £9 for an ice cream sundae which I served in a bowl with a drizzle of caramel is not really on! Staff just seemed uninterested and not particularly suited to hospitality I would come again but only for a drink

Good points; excellent shower except nowhere to put shampoo etc, comfortable bed. Bad points; Our room ' Wild rose' was above the kitchen so almost constant noise from extractor fan,no full length mirror, unusable kettle due to really short flex, no water or biscuits in room.Expensive for a pub. The pub itself is bland hard to believe its part of the Baillifscourt group. We decided to eat in the bar as we had our dog with us and the tables in the restaurant are very close together, standing at the bar we ordered a bottle of wine ( very nice) and asked for 2 menus,we had to pay for the wine immediately, having chosen our food we had to order at the bar and again pay immediately, we had to collect our cutlery no napkins supplied, I had a pie which was good my wife had fish and chips, chips were good..fish was not ,poor quality and very little batter,we ordered desert again had to pay immediately. Your policy of making us pay upfront every time even though we were staying the night and you already had our card details having charged us before we had arrived made us feel like fare dodging criminals
Philip W — Google review
We stayed in 'Wild Rose'. I requested an earlier check in due to a wedding which they managed to do. The room was small, but very nicely done and the bathroom was equally stylish. It could have done with a full length mirror, my mum & dad had one in the opposite room, so not sure why it wasn't added in this one. The room did have a rather loud hum to it, which I think may have come from the kitchen extractors below us. I struggled to get to sleep with it going all night, so these really need turning off. Breakfast was tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall a pleasant stay.
Shelley R — Google review
The food was good, and all the staff polite. Just didn't feel like anything special, though the way it's decorated;it feels like it wants to be more than just a pub.
Luke N — Google review
Appalling bar service; not very helpful or accommodating. There was a sign above a door for the toilets, but on entering the corridor there were no signs on the toilet doors to notify whether they were unisex or not. We had to get our own cutlery. However the food was good, although the fryer needed to be hotter for the prawns; they were a bit soggy.
Anna ( — Google review
I think it’s newly opened after a long time closed , so I really wanted to give a super review and support it. The menu looked innovative.Came for dinner and maybe ordered wrong . I had the tofu … well I couldn’t eat it after the third mouthful sadly. Huge bricks of deep fried tofu on a bed of bland cold noodles with no sauce. There was a chilli oil slick at the bottom that made my lips look shiny …. It wasn’t pleasant . My husband had the fish pie and the filling tasted nice but inexplicably came with deep fried Whitebait sticking out of it . Maybe leftovers from lunch. I left it - £17 down the drain :(. I did feed back to them what I’ve said here . It’s a lovely setting though. Maybe the chef could keep away from the deep fat fryer though . I hope it does well

Brilliant pub, live music every Saturday night. Terrific choice of beers. Sky sports was on the televisions, one had the cricket on and the other one had F1 on. You would have too travel a long way to better this pub.

We visited this pub as we were staying locally and had read the amazing reviews. From the outside it doesn’t look anything special but as soon as you open the door you feel genuinely welcomed. Super atmosphere, busy with locals and visitors alike. Staff very friendly and efficient plus the chef came and gave our dog a treat !! We went on a Thursday evening having not booked and thankfully there was a table. We were shown menus and told the specials on offer too . I had chicken stuffed with cranberry wrapped in bacon with seasonal vegetables, other half had steak & Stilton homemade pie with mash. Really delicious. For our desserts we had Apple & Blackberry Crumble with custard and a vanilla & caramel ice cream tart. The portion sizes are very good - you certainly know you’ve had a plentiful meal. We had a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks - it all came to £77 which I think was great value for what we received. We booked to return the next evening and the offerings where again excellent. I had steak with all the trimmings and husband has scampi . The landlady and all the staff made us feel welcome, it was great to hear the chat and laughter with barely a mobile phone in sight!! We will definitely return to this gem of a pub. Pity we weren’t staying longer as Sunday Roast sounded fabulous. I’m very envious of residents who live permanently in this beautiful part of England - endless beaches, cafes & walks plus The Tudor Tavern to round off your day. Perfect .

The Aviator Bar and Grill in Bognor Regis is a charming pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Situated on the terrace, it offers a pleasant view of the sea, although sometimes obstructed by the fair. First warm day after lockdown review. Ended up in Bognor Regis by chance and after a stroll down the promenade we stumbled across the Aviator. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were able to sit on the terrace, there was a fair on so our view of the sea was blocked, but without it there would have been beautiful. The service was good, it was busy yet the food came out at a good time. The food was well above average for a pub, I had the Fish and Chips, excellently cooked and tasty....as was all the other food we ordered. All in all was a pleasant experience and if I was to visit again I'd definitely have another meal here.

Very nice helpful staff and food was good. Lovely chicken curry. Chicken burgers also very good. Good amount of chicken breast. Coffee was excellent quality. Nice flowers on the tables. A bit of a sea view from some seats. Some of the furniture and decor looking tired was the only negative.

Looking for somewhere decent to have lunch in Littlehampton, with not much hope of finding a suitable venue. Walked past Bad Saint only to turn round and have a closer look. Superb restaurant, a great experience right from the moment we decided to explore what was on offer. Welcoming staff, spotlessly clean with great decor, this place is a real gem. The food was delicious with attention to detail and beautifully presented. Great choice of quality wines. The whole experience was an unexpected delight. We will definitely be returning here, next time for afternoon tea, even though we live 40 minutes away! Unfortunately we did not have the best experience visiting bad Saint, it was our 16th wedding anniversary so wanted to pick a nice place, and after reading very positive reviews decided to go to bad Saint. Service was nice and friendly, and cocktails to start were enjoyable. Starter of pigs head was very tasty and indicated at being the right choice, Unfortunately the the fish shareing platter was very poor, not much on there to start with, prawns badly overcooked and crab black and meat inside shriveled to the point where not much remained. After being asked how the food was and this is honestly the first time in my life I have said anything other then positive, informed the waitress that it wasn't great and even pointed out the black crab bit's, she said thank you for letting us know. We asked for the bill and paid in full. I would have expected to have the cost of the platter removed from the bill as it was not good, but unfortunately not, we paid £25 for something that was certainly not worth it. Apart from the food, it was also a very loud environment, so unsure if it is more a drinking hole that does food rather then an intimate restaurant, if it's just a restaurant it's the 1st restaurant I've been to that's had bouncers on the door as we left. The high street really does need a good place to eat, unfortunately I'm not convinced bad Saint is the place.

Fauna Brewing is a charming brewery situated atop Arundel, offering a delightful suntrap garden adjacent to the castle. The establishment boasts an impressive array of beer choices, particularly their exceptional dipa. A must-visit for beer enthusiasts, it promises an enjoyable experience alongside its decent food options. Its location also provides a picturesque view and proximity to the renowned cathedral.
Wandered in here on a day trip to Arundel and was blown away. Great beers brewed on site, lovely staff and the best pizza I've had in a long time. Perfect crispy crust and delicious fresh toppings. Highly Recommend!

We had our wedding reception at Fauna in May. The staff were all brilliant; they had everything under control and made the evening stress-free for us so we could just enjoy the night. We had a buffet for dinner then pizzas later in the night. The guests all commented on how delicious the food was, and various dietary requirements were well-catered for. The venue itself looked great with the DJ and lighting set up, and having the two rooms and the garden meant there was plenty of space for dancing, but also quieter areas where people could chat and catch up. Our only complaint is that we can’t do it all over again!
Paul A — Google review
My wife loves the Cheeky Chimp beer, as promised, it has a tropical taste. 🌴 We also shared the 1/2 metre pizza with two different toppings. Different from italian pizza, but also delicious!! Together with some homemade fries, it was enough for 2 adults and two children. Great spot!!
Thorsten F — Google review
Great little place! Myself and my partner came by for a few drinks, and stayed for the food. Yum! My partner really seemed to enjoy the variety of beverages on tap, and I certainly enjoyed the cider. Although I was just a little disappointed there was only one cider on tap (but there were two in the fridge). We were hungry, so gave the pizzas a try. Yum! The pineapple pizza, with pineapple soaked in vanilla rum, was a huge winner (this was a special). My partner had the devilled pizza and enjoyed it, too. The dough balls were absolutely loaded with pesto and were delicious! The staff are warm, friendly and could be seen quickly attending to cleaning tables and carrying away empty glasses. They run a tight ship! The place itself is steeped in history, having been an old turbine hall that generated power for the nearby castle. I love that they've shown off the venue's history with chalkboards and pictures of what once was. As the building is older, it is a little bit draughty, but it is worth remembering that we visited at the end of March. I love the whole ethos of the brewery; in a world that is so divided, it is important we stand for protecting what we have! It's a small detail, but I do love the coat of arms of the brewery. And the toiletries by the toilets were a really nice touch. Thanks, Fauna Brewery!

A nice brewery and taproom with outside seating and a restaurant. A good selection of drinks. £5.50 for a pint of ale was a bit pricey. £8 for 3 thirds was the most expensive flyte of beer I've ever had. Lost a star for this.

This has developed into a great venue. There is parking at the back. The large bar area is cool in the summer heat with a very high ceiling. In a separate room, there is a large pizza oven and serving area. There is plenty of seating, inside and outside. The staff give you a warm welcome. I sat outside on a long table in the afternoon sun. I enjoyed my two beers. They were excellent - well kept and at appropriate temperatures. I have forgotten their names. I ate (devoured) a king prawn with garlic pizza. It was very enjoyable. Well cooked and very tasty. Very enjoyable.

We had our first visit to Fauna Taproom, it won’t be our last. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even offering to make desserts though the kitchen had just closed. Pizzas were excellent, with fresh produce cooked to perfection. Fauna beer selection was a 9 out of 10, just missing an own brew low alcohol, which I am sure they are working on for us drivers. I have already recommended to a few friends.

"This place looks like a great spot for food and drinks. Unfortunately, when we visited for a meal, the barman informed us that food service stopped at 2pm—which wasn't advertised. That said, the pub is well-decorated, has great pool tables, and the barman was friendly and chatty. Such a shame about the food timing." Also only 4 people including us in the bar. Unfortunately the reason we were given for the bar stopping food was because it was so quite, this had nothing to do with so called essential maintenance

Our waitress, Megan, and the chef were amazing, managed to serve a Sunday roast to a hen-do of 20 people and accomodate a vegan (with really tasty food). The service was so friendly and the food was great, thank you!

14 of us arrived for Sunday lunch. Service was outstanding.. and the roast dinner was amazing! Excellent roast potatoes and yorkshire, no frozen stuff. Would highly recommend!

The Manager really looked after us, managing to manoeuvre us round his table bookings to watch the football match we wanted to watch. Thank you so much. Only negative was we came for food too only to be told, "There is no food at all today". Then watched food going out to all the bookings! A bit off to be honest but, once again, thanks for getting us the football sir.

Kadie is an absolute star. Everytime me and my friends come in she is quick with service and very friendly. We frequent Rocks purely because it guarantees a good time and good service. She is fantastic.

Love it!!!!!! Amazing cocktails, the ‘eastside’ was 10/10. Manchego and honey was delicious and the decor is lovely too, great vibes!

139 Steps is a fantastic cocktail bar! The decor is really well done, creating a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and, most importantly, make excellent cocktails. Highly recommend for a great night out in Arundel!

Very pleasant wine, gin and cocktail bar. They know what they are doing. Perfect

Visited on Feb 20th .. Having used ' Butlers' ( sadly now closed 😔)on a fairly regular basis we were keen to visit 139 for a post dinner 🍸 to celebrate Natalie's birthday 🥳.. As was always the case at Butlers, we were warmly greeted by Sacha 😊👍.. Stylish, understated decor, which possibly could do with some more 'mood lighting '🤔..but that is a personal opinion. 😊..the margaritas 🍸 hit the spot 🤩.. until next time..👍👍

We popped in for some evening cocktails and ended up having the best night!! This place is a hidden gem and the owners are so kind and welcoming, making you feel like a friend from the moment you walk in. It’s a beautiful bar, cozy and laid-back, and we can’t wait to come back. If you’re in Arundel, don’t miss it! Thank you so much for a lovely evening, Chloe & Yas x

We dropped into the Bar for a pre-dinner drink. Loved the atmosphere, small and intimate with great decor. Manager was very helpful and the standard of cocktails superb. We will be back!

Ok place. My girlfriends and I came for a gin and it was odd that being a bar in Arundel it didn’t have Arundel Gin which we love. We went back to the Norfolk Tap who had it. Nice decor but was all a bit forced

Nestled in the charming seaside town of Bognor Regis, The Claremont Inn offers a delightful retreat for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. Just a short drive from attractions like Goodwood Motor Circuit and South Downs National Park, this bed & breakfast is perfectly situated for exploring the area. Guests have praised the warm hospitality provided by Sam and the friendly bar staff, making it an inviting place to unwind after a long day.
Lovely little pub, always serves a decent guinness. The staff and people are really friendly. Best price around and happy hour on a Friday with free pool just makes it even better. Never had the piggin tasty food but always smells amazing

Only stayed for one night as was visiting to attend a funeral. I can’t recommend enough as Sam was so welcoming, friendly, helpful and very accommodating to our needs. We visited the pub after a difficult day and was greeted by a lovely helpful and extremely friendly barman which was needed after the day we had..The Family room was a bargain price, spotlessly clean with lovely little extras and tea making facilities. . Comfy beds with clean and lovely fresh smelling bedding (and I’m fussy when it comes to bed linen). Despite the review I’d seen regarding the outdoor staircase to the room this was not a problem as it was still accessible even for my 78 yr mum who has walking difficulties. (The staircase is very sturdy with railings). If ever we visit here again then this will definitely be my first choice for a very reasonably priced clean good nights sleep. They say you get what you pay for .. well for what we paid for the night we got a lot more. Deffo recommend

if i could give ZERO …. i would ! poor poor service horrid staff. had a friends birthday their and the staff were all in all rude towards the guests. the hours of the party were supposed to be 7-12 but due to the staff letting other guests in and not prioritising the private event at hand it ended up being nearly 8 o clock until 10.45 which meant the friend who booked lost out on her money. they searched bags without authority and permission and had no idea how to identify wether id cards were real or not spending 5-10 minutes PER CUSTOMER checking obviously real id cards. two uninvited visitors entered the premises and were causing chaos and asked to leave and they did. however they decided to come back and cause chaos. the security did nothing and the staff did nothing other than kick the whole party out meaning around 100 people were left outside in the pouring rain at 10 o’clock at night without any way home until midnight. the staff refused to let anyone stand outside the pub and forced everyone to walk down onto the road causing potential casualties. property of multiple guests were stolen. overall i do not recommend as not just the atmosphere was uncomfortable due to the appalling staff but the staff put guests in danger with no sense of regret.

Terrible customer service! Pub always shut, the only person we spoke to was the cleaner. Intetnet siginal shocking! Loud people in the flats nearby! Could go on but won't.... will not stay here again...

Very friendly welcome. Room was inacculate. Ideal for our overnight stay. Comfortable bed. Conveinent location close to sea front and town. Only problem is parking is not great. Double yellow lines and permit parking all around.
Heidi A — Google review
Very disappointing to be honest. No atmosphere, area was extremely quiet. Room was OK, not how you see on 4 in the bed .
Susan D — Google review
Don't let the bar area put you off, as the rooms are exceptionally clean and done to a high standard. They do not provide breakfast, but plenty of tea and coffee are provided in the room. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pub is a bit tired and lack luster, but is quite popular and has entertainment on some nights.
Christian A — Google review
The rooms are lovely and the bar staff are friendly. Unfortunately this was tainted by a couple of things: first is a small thing, the bathroom had a greasy, food smell to it, possibly from the drain. 2nd, and something I've never experienced before; a very suspicious homemade packet containing a white powder hidden underneath an unused tea cup. We aren't blaming the inn itself as even they were as surprised as we were, but the fact we found it whilst staying with our 6 year old daughter was a shock, and it was all well the owner saying they were looking into it but that's really as far as it went without any real explanation or offer of a way to make things right; just glad my wife found it before my child did. Really tainted the whole experience for us and might be an eye opener about more thorough checks from cleaners on change over (who had apparently been in to clean after the last occupants had left) It was a shame cause the bar downstairs was lovely with a nice selection of lagers, and the bar maid was such a pleasure to talk to.

Pub
Super friendly bar maid and lovely atmosphere. We were struggling to find somewhere to sit and eat locally as none of the local pubs serve food on a Saturday night. The lovely barmaid said she was fine us bringing our own food in so long as we cleared up after ourselves. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, some friendly chat and had a few drinks before heading off.

Popped in for a quick drink. Friendly staff but it's a locals/old man's type of pub.

Decided to pop in for a drink on the way home. Great little pub, friendly staff with a very warm welcome. It is a local pub for locals the landlady has lots of plans. Support your local.

Went sunday afternoon with my wife, didn't have either of our drinks in stock or lime cordial! So drank drinks we didn't want and were surrounded by loud locals and loud TV showing 2 different sports events! Place needs money to upgrade to a decent standard!won't be back unless updated!
