Stockade Tavern is a stylish cocktail bar with an old-school vibe, offering creative drinks in a relaxed space. It appeals to both lounge lovers and saloon bar regulars alike. The bar provides a wide range of inventive and tasty cocktails, creating a perfect cocktail lounge experience. Visitors can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere with well-curated house signature drinks on the menu.
Amazing bar in Kingston! We got the pretzels too as a snack and loved it. Our bartender recommended an awesome gin cocktail called the 20th century which we loved. Definitely recommend the place.

If you are looking for high quality cocktails and vibey old-school atmosphere, this is definitely place to go! Amazing drinks, friendly stuff, incredible appetizers. We ordered chicken liver pate which was the best pate I’ve ever tried! Highly recommend this place!
Kateryna H — Google review
Stockade Tavern is one of the best bars in Kingston, thanks to the level of creativity and craftsmanship from the owners to the incredible and personable bartenders that work here. The drinks are thoughtfully crafted even down to the type of ice used. Every drink is well balanced and delicious. No showy, flashy drinks required when you have the level of craftsmanship that the folks at Stockade have. I would like to give Lia and Sasha a shout out for their hospitality and great conversation. Watching Sasha make drinks, for example...the seamless way Sasha shakes the shaker is mesmerizing to watch. The atmosphere is lively without being too crowded or obnoxious. Stockade Tavern really knows how to draw in and retain their customers. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stockade. I'm thankful to have found such a comfortable and fun environment to have a drink and feel at home.

Always amazing! Such a great presence in my neighborhood. These guys make great drinks. The vibes are always superb. Whether stopping in for drinks with friends after work or impressing a date, Paul and Jenny's joint never disappoints.

I was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite cocktail, Painkiller, on the menu. Loved the vintage look and classic atmosphere.

good place to get a drink a little bite. stopped here a little bit ago with coworkers to grab something after work and would definitely come back. they clearly care about their bar program.
Sarah O — Google review
What a gem of a place! I sat outside with some friends - we ordered inside and a server brought the drinks out. To my surprise they have cynar and were willing to make a cynar spritz! Delicious. I also tried the pineapple margarita, too. Refreshing. It's really cute inside. Yet, this lovely night could have been a bad memory. Buzzing on good drinks, atmosphere and conversation, I left my (beloved, expensive) sunglasses behind...gasp! The staff not only rescued them, but were willing to make sure they made their way back to me. 10/10 for Stockade Tavern. Will come again and again.
Erika A — Google review
Sasha is the best bartender I've ever had. And I'm old. The atmosphere was perfect and the drinks rocked. Hope to go back soon. Update: Went back last night. Watching Sasha and Lia make drinks is artwork. And they are so nice.

Shindig is a laid-back restaurant offering locally sourced seasonal comfort food, along with craft beer and soju cocktails. It's a popular spot for brunch, especially on weekends. The Rock City Scramble and the flavorful grilled cheese on peasant bread are highly recommended dishes. The establishment has a charming upstate cafe/diner style and offers a carefully curated selection of upstate NY/New England brews.
We went there for brunch on a sunny Saturday labor day weekend, and were lucky enough to find seating at 12:15 pm for 6 adults and 3 kids! The seating was perfect, facing Tinker St and the place was moderately busy. Rock City Scramble ($12) seemed to be the unanimous choice of our group with the exception of a vegetarian dish ordered by me, which was an extremely flavorful grilled cheese ($14) served on an extremely delicious peasant bread. I could've done without the fries which were the least tasteful in my plate. I also ordered a lager that they had on tap, and a Bloody Mary. Special shout out to Kristin who was our server - friendly and welcoming. Overall, food was really good and we had a very good experience here! Will visit again, when in Woodstock area.
Ameya B — Google review
I had high expectations and the food was OK at best. This place is small and cozy and located in a prime spot. Ordered the Shindig burger with tater tots. The tots needed more salt and the burger was overcooked (requested medium rare). I also tried the grilled cheese which tasted weird and the sweet potato fries were undercooked. All the portions were very generous.
David R — Google review
A cute upstate cafe/diner style establishment on the main street with a delicious comfort food menu and a careful selection of upstate NY / New England brews. Service is prompt and attentive! Definitely a must stop for all Woodstock visitors?
Sumantro D — Google review
I had never been to Woodstock before yesterday. So imagine my delight that I got lucky enough to pick a true gem of a restaurant for lunch! It's small, cozy, quaint. Front tables look out onto the village square. Hostess and waitstaff restored my faith in the current generation (a bit - haha) - clearly cared enough to do a good job, deliver promptly, and be friendly. The menu is both basic and inventive. And everything I observed arrived nicely done. I had the Upstate - biscuit, ham, cheese . . . superb. Home made biscuit was just what it should be. They have Fentiman's soda . . called Curiosity Soda. Try it! It's a soda produced in a botanical process, once banned in U.S. for having .5% alcohol (fermented). It's to die for!

Sunday in Woodstock, Everything we ordered was delicious. They have beer and wine. The service was great. Definitely coming back.
Lilian V — Google review
So u r in Woodstock and hungry looking for a wonderful evening after an equally wonderful day (its hard for that not to happen in Catskills) ..... While the place is spoilt for fresh good eats ....the food at Shindig will blow u away. We dropped in late on a Sunday night around 8:00 and had the best Lamb Burger we have ever eaten. This place is one of the places that has a Lamb Burger ....yes!! ... The best juciest burger. Even better If u like ur burger patties medium done since that brings out the juices. Topped with arugula to add bursts of freshness and feta cheese to churn the flavors. The picked onions provided a nice twist. It was food heaven. I lived it so much that I would have ordered several more burgers with just the party and toppings without any bread (anyone thinking Keto!!). This was my cheat meal 😁. We ordered a side of their famous sweet potato waffle fries and also their Mac-n-cheese. The Mac & cheese was delicious with a beautiful golden brown crust. We did not do the drinks menu since we had a long drive ahead of us. Seating is a bit tight but the hidden gems that add up to the decor like the frame of the mirror behind the bar and the pillar just before the kitchen entrance is beautiful. Nice clean restrooms. Best part..the place is full of security cameras, I appreciate that in today's context.
Sidharth M — Google review
Shindig simultaneously represents the best of classic diner breakfast AND the "elevated" brunch that's ubiquitous (if rarely well executed) in NYC. I cannot stress this enough: do not share pancake here. Get your own and save the relationship, because resentment will linger about the last bite (they're that good). Then again I couldn't resist the balsamic glazed duck breast hash which somehow scratched my foodie itch and greasy-spoon craving at the same time, so yea. Can't go wrong here.
James G — Google review
Lovely little cafe and brunch spot in the center of Woodstock NY. Great place for some yummy food and coffee. It's on the cozy side, and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Beer garden
Schatzi's Pub and Bier Garden is a cozy pub with a spacious outdoor beer garden, offering an array of craft beers and a menu featuring updated bar food alongside traditional German dishes like bratwurst and schnitzel. Located in New Paltz, NY, this spot is known for its welcoming atmosphere and modern twist on classic German flavors.
The food was great, ordered the pork schnitzel, DU CLAW- Unicorn Stout, decent price for the food and drink. It is about $10 for the Stout and $14 for the winter special drink. The staff were so friendly. Definitely will try something else next time.
DaDa — Google review
Wife got the chicken sandwich and it was dry, like chewing leather. My sausage was good. Service was also really bad, granted we were a party of 10, wrong and mixed orders. It also took forever to order. We also got a visit from the local raccoon, kinda cool but prob not safe. One positive, they had Vermont beers on draft.
Christopher L — Google review
Schatzi’s offers a nice draft list of some good beer, good sized portions, and friendly staff. We got seats at the bar and had good service the entire time. We were given the wrong specials menu which was disappointing because one of the specials sounded perfect for me but I got the Schatzi’s burger instead and it was a bit dry. Slightly overdone and not enough of their sauce, I think the potato pancake on top absorbs it and left the rest of the burger dry. Great sized meal though. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. We would stop again and see what’s new next time we are in Poughkeepsie.
Jared F — Google review
At schatzi’s it was a pleasure to be treated with a smile. We sat in the bar seats are quite comfortable. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Food came at a timing manner and drinks were just right.

We ended up having our welcome event for our wedding weekend at this location since our numbers did not quite work out with Zeus's brewery. And I think that was the best unexpected turn of events! The back patio is beautiful and spacious. The food here is mostly apps and perfect for finger food. The drinks were fun, including many local beers, as well as cocktails and wine. The staff was very friendly. They made our welcome event before our big day very special as well! Jeremy went above and beyond to help us out!
Ana V — Google review
Sat outside in August on the patio, ordered the Hudson Valley salad — rating it the best salad I’ve ever had — however I am from Florida and not exposed to a mix of tastes like this. Really great service from Lindsey. Husband got the schnitzel and he said it as delicious. BTW this place looks like a bar from the street but there are tables and chairs. We are the oldest people here but we are coming back again.
K.Griffin W — Google review
Very friendly service. It has some authentic German dishes and some American ones as well.
Shantanu P — Google review
TL;DR: Good food fast. Craft beers. Good service. Seasonal outdoor seating. My companions and I had just walked the local trail between the two bridges and were looking for a place with bar foods and a decent drink selection. This place is easy to miss, as it’s in the middle of a row of small businesses. The storefront is dark and at first glance I though they were closed. Upon entering there’s the standard bar area and behind that there’s a surprising amount of seating. There’s a single restroom, so if it’s game day and you’ve got a tiny bladder, good luck to you. I ordered the sweet chili chicken wings which came with celery, carrots, and ranch sauce. My companions ordered sandwiches, both of which received positive reviews. The one downside was the cheese curds. They were bland and could’ve used a saltier, richer flavor. The curds became inedible once they reached room temperature. Hopefully a few minutes in the home air fryer will resurrect them. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Prices were reasonable.

Ze Windham Wine Bar, located just behind the Windham Post Office, offers a refined experience in an old house setting with a charming patio. It has been recognized as one of the 25 best wine bars by Travel and Leisure Magazine and was named the number 1 bar in Upstate New York by Hudson Valley. The host, Cordelia, is highly praised for her warm hospitality. The outdoor area is cozy with blankets and fire pits, creating a beautiful ambiance.
Food was amazing as well as staff and service! The sausage with mango chutney is delicious as well as the pretzels. The cocktails are very creative and they sell pretzel necklaces! The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

This is a great spot. All of the food I had was really good. The portions were really large. The service was great. They offered different options of when we want the food to be out. They even offered to split the food for us. I didn't expect such a great place to eat in a small town like Hunter. It was a welcome surprise.
Erik Z — Google review
A warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the scene for what can only be an amazing evening! Sit down family style downstairs at farm-style tables w/benches in the “Beer Hall”, or head upstairs for more intimate tables for 2-4. Chef Christie will amaze your eyes, and tantalize your palette even before you pick up your knife and fork. Her artful presentation is such that one almost hesitates delving into the meal! The menu itself is a gastro adventure with German and American options. The serving sizes are very generous, guaranteeing that no one leaves hungry.

I was visiting friends in the area and joined for Octoberfest dinner. Service was great as was the food. The prettiest currywurst I’ve ever seen! And the steak tartare with truffle chips was a lovely surprise - very delicious. Washed down with a Hefeweisen. My friends had the sauerbraten and flounder schnitzel (not pictured)
Susan J — Google review
We had a great dinner on a busy Saturday night. Reservations are a must as this place is very popular and deservedly so. Although there was a bit of a wait before we were seated, the staff were very attentive and communicative. Service was great and no long wait for anything. We were a table of 7, seated on the main floor which is bustling with activity. The food highlights were the Braunschweiger liverwurst pate, absolutely delicious. Was beautifully seasoned with a satiny liver. A must-have, as was the Flammkuchen flatbread-bacon was perfection. Really enjoyed the Chicken Jager Schnitzel too. The Steak Tartare lacked steak flavor and the capers were a bit overwhelming. Fondue is a fun share. Prices are very reasonable and portions nice. Highly recommend.
Maureen G — Google review
A fine purveyors of German cuisine. Tonight's dishes were steak tartar, chicken schnitzel porkchop and some brats. Great dishes! When in this area, I would visit again.
Norway I — Google review
My wife and I visited this place during Oktoberfest, and what an unforgettable experience it was! Since we had our dog with us, we asked to sit outside, and someone immediately came over to help - with the kindest smile and warm energy. We chose a spot by the fire pit, and within moments, that same person offered to light it for us. We ordered food and beer, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious - perfectly prepared and full of flavour. But what truly made the evening special wasn’t just the food or the setting - it was the care. Moments later, the same person appeared again with a bowl of water and treats for our dog, and we chatted for a bit about how wonderful the place was. As night began to fall, they offered us blankets to keep warm -another thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes. Every step of the way, this person was attentive, genuine, and so kind. Being a business owner myself, I notice the small details - the effort, the extra steps, the pride in what someone does. So I finally asked, “Are you the owner by any chance?” Sure enough - the answer was yes. And that’s how we met Cordelia - an incredible owner and an even more amazing human being. To top it all off, after we left (a few beers later!), I realized I’d forgotten my vest there. When I called, I heard the same cheerful voice on the phone: “I was wondering when you were going to call!” Cordelia even mailed the vest back to me - just another act of kindness that perfectly sums up who she is. Cordelia, thank you for: 1️⃣ For being such a warm, genuine host and the heart of your business. 2️⃣ For creating a place so welcoming and memorable that people can’t wait to return. 3️⃣ For going above and beyond for every guest, every single time. We absolutely promise - we’ll be back again soon! 🍻🧡🐾

Unique well-executed takes on classics pub grub. I enjoyed the apple blueberry hard cider, lamb burger, side of mac & cheese, and butternut squash hummus with winter veggies. Friendly service. Cozy decor with personality that doesn't take itself too seriously. Exceeded expectations. Adjacent playground for kids before/after meal.
Sherry M — Google review
Hi I’m a frequent goer of the Pickled Owl and as of recently they’ve been getting it correct. I believe there was a rocky period when they were looking for a new executive chef because I noticed the menu was not rotating for quite some time! Happy to see last time my husband and I went there were some specials that were worth trying. The calamari portion should definitely be bigger and the curry aioli is not a great match. I think possibly having some type of sweet chili sauce or even salt and pepper calamari would work well here. The hummus and marinated olives are always a hit. I love that they add a seasonal flare to the hummus (it was beet when we went last and caramelized onions and garlic before that) so I absolutely look forward to having those things every time I come here. The Ciders on tap are also always stellar and the Mac n Cheese is always exquisite because the cheese is locally sourced I believe. Ordering to go here is really a NO!!! The portions to go never match the in house portions. This is an in person experience. Overall I recommend this place and it’s always a pleasure to spend my currency here.
Smiling B — Google review
We were so looking forward to trying the food here, unfortunately, it was quite the disappointment. We placed the following order to go : Cauliflower 12 Calamari 11 Gnocchi (vegan) 19 Veggie Burger 15 Side fries 5 Side mac and cheese 5 Brownie Sundae 7 Total ~ $80 We were unpleasantly surprised when we got home and opened up our order. Not only were the to go boxes quite small, they were not even close to full. The pictures I attached will show you just how ridiculous their portions are for the price. In terms of taste : The cauliflower was pretty good but mushy. The order of calamari had exactly 14 pieces - the we did not even finish it because that's how bad they tasted. The Gnocchi had 11 pieces of gnocchi - again they were just ok but the vegetables with it were very sweet and oily. The veggie burger was dry and just ok. The side fries were great and the portion was ok. The Mac and cheese had interesting flavor and was pretty good, however, the portion was about one big spoon of Mac and cheese... tiny. Finally the Brownie Sundae, which unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take a picture of, was absolutely delicious - it is so so good. In addition the amazing waitress was kind enough to have the sundae made only once I arrived so that it would not melt entirely by the time we got home. Overall, The Pickled Owl food was a disappointing experience. While some things were flavorful the majority left much to be desired and the portions in general are laughable. I hate to leave a negative review for a local restaurant, but I would not want anyone else to be so let down.
Natalya K — Google review
Reviewing a Sullivan County business in the off-season is always a little tough, and hard to know what is fair. I visited for lunch a week ago, arriving around 12:30. I wasn't sure if I should go in--since none of the three OPEN signs in the front windows were lit up. Inside, there were two ladies having a lunch meeting at the bar, and the bartender was also the only visible employee. This man, was not the most professional greeter for the business. Friendly, yes, but also wearing a camouflage T-shirt that barely covered his belly. He directed me to the rear dining area, where I had my choice of the entire room. Other than the chill from the two open windows in the room (it was about 30 out), I noticed the lack of any background music, which made it feel rather uncomfortable and also made the soon to be long wait much, much longer. I ordered a sandwich from the lunch menu, and then proceeded to wait... And wait... And wait. While the sandwich that came out was fresh and well-presented, I waited long enough that I think an employee drove down to Walmart to buy an avocado for my sandwich, and had to wait in line. No worries, because I did bring my Kindle with me, but still... The fries were very tasty, and somehow, a little charred, which was a nice touch. The pickle was fresh, and I think was brined with rosemary, but I can't be sure. The sandwich was on a freshly grilled bun, and the ingredients were flavorful, but the avocado patty only covered about 2/3 of the bun, and it wasn't that large of a bun. The price of the sandwich was reasonable, even by Sullivan County standards. Some of the appetizers were overpriced, so I didn't order one. This is where the off-season remark comes in. I'm not sure if some of these failures are just because they don't bother with the niceties in the winter, saving their energy for the city money that won't be driving up for a couple of months, but it felt like they (he) was just phoning it in for the season. I'll give it another chance in the summer, when maybe they'll have specials and a livelier atmosphere.

We had a great meal complete with live entertainment at the Pickled Owl. This restaurant serves a variety of NY beers on draft (a must for us while traveling), and offers a variety (read: more than one) vegetarian and vegan menu options! However we were disappointed to learn that some menu items were “out” or not available during our visit. In addition, our table service was under the care of the bartender. As you can imagine, this was quite a tall ask, and we were left waiting (and thirsty!) for a bit longer than we like. Of course, we know that staffing issues are a problem everywhere, so I would not hold this too strongly against the Pickled Owl.

I cannot say enough about this amazing place and wonderful family-friendly establishment. It's a gastropub and many might not know what that means if you look up on their website about them you will understand what a gastropub is and what they are trying to achieve with their food wine and spirits carefully created, heartfeltly made delectable Delights that your palette just wants to savor. The owners are local to the area this is their way of giving back and supporting their community and wanting others to have a great experience of dining and entertainment locally right at your back door. It's a place to come to that is upscale yet homie all at the same time which isn't easy to achieve. Its well-appointed and ahead of the Curve for the area. They have the most amazing events functions and gatherings and weekly activities that should not be missed like chives open mic typically on the fourth Thursday of every month. Chai is always seeking local talents so stop by on a fourth Thursday and bless everyone with your talents and gifts! And if you aren't quite an adult yet but you're 16 and over she has opened up her open mic to give back to the youth! So get off of that High School auditorium stage and check out what it's like to be an actual venue;) And if you want more information about Chai's open mic and the restaurant of course itself please give the Pickled owl a call and find out more & get Chai's number. And did I say that they were well-appointed, uncomparable food, an amazing selection of an array wine beer and spirits, excellent amenities, a loving staff that understands the meaning of customer service and owners that are passionate about their community and how they serve their love to those that come through the door, outdoor seating in a wonderful town that has other things to offer like movies yoga dance it's just all-around good out there in Hurleyville New York! Check it out! You will be mad at yourself if you don't!

1st lets start with the fun fact that they've been here for 5 years & I never knew about this beautiful soul of a restaurant. My Sissy & I came here to have a sipping sissy's sunday! It's a breath of fresh air the food was amazing. Tony was even more of a delight, she made us feel like family. The rose quartz stones on the tables just exuded pure happiness and good vibrations. Very cozy and great for family dinners. Beautiful beautiful place. I will be back with my 🐝ff next time. Thank you for the southern hospitality in upstate new york!

Matt the owner and bartender, is a very down to earth, and nice guy! He told us he has owned the place for 13 years. The service was very good, and the bar food was delicious (especially the wings). This is a good dive bar if you have to make a stop in Ellenville!

This place has yet to disappoint and I’ve been there numerous times. While it can take a bit to get the food out (the kitchen is small…. I think there’s only one person working back there), the portions are large, the food tastes great, the mixed drinks I’ve had are very good, and the staff is always very friendly and knows exactly when to engage in conversation and when to let you be. The to go is just as good as eating in house, they have never had issues with the quality of anything in my opinion. 10/10 would recommend!

Went down with a friend for wings and definitely picked the right place. Large wings with a flavorful sauce that coated the wings perfectly (I had bourbon bbq). the food was coupled with a great conversation with the bartender, who we later found out was the owner. I will be returning many times

They have excellent burgers and wings!! However, their (cooking) consistency needs to improve. One week I went and everything was terrific, the next time the food wasn't as good. I wish they would get a better ventilation system - it gets a bit stuffy inside. When I can I eat outside. The owner and staff are very friendly!!

I was very surprised by the quality of the food. Bangers and Mashed was very good. Lemon chicken was excellent. Apple and brie crispy chicken sandwich was delightful. The best dishes though are the fries and loaded fries. What was most unexpected was that the Guinness was served at the right temperature. The only down side was the wait for the food - way too long.

Awesome food, even better atmosphere. Don't let the small ones fool ya. We had a great dinner, fresh food, and amazing drinks. Even though they seemed understaffed the bartender/waiter was on it! Popped in for a late dinner on our way out of town but this place convinced us to come back soon. Thanks to Publik House and the locals.

Dutch's is a bar/restaurant that was stumbled upon accidentally. The main attraction here is the food, which includes items like salads and Mac and cheese. The waitress working there was pleasant and efficient, even when serving a large group of people. This restaurant is worth recommending, despite being in an unfamiliar area. There is also a bartender named Carissa who provides excellent service at the full bar. Not only does she attend to everyone's needs, but the food served here is delicious as well.
What a fantastic surprise. Some people might misinterpret this place as a local dive, but, it is not. The food and the service were great. The waitress, can't remember her name, sorry, during lunch on 9/7 had a smile on her face the whole time we were there and gave us great service. The Cajun penne was a great twist on an old favorite. My wife ordered the pulled pork nachos which was also very good. The portions were large and the prices were very reasonable. We even had some leftovers that we snacked on later that day. Great place to stop in on your way to Resorts World. Thank you to Mr. and/or Mrs. Dutch.

Wings were amazing!!!! Pretzel was like something you find at a German Restaurant lol so fluffy and good and homemade mustard made it to die for! Also had the French Onion soup which was like I’ve never had but still super flavorful and the cheese was tasty! We will definitely be back next time we’re in town! Keep up the great work Dutch’s!

Great food and service. Their Dutch famous wings and Nachos with pulled pork was great. Enjoy!

Might have had the best pulled pork ever! Got additional pickles because why not. Solid menu with plenty of options. The place is wholesome: indoor tavern where to get a bite at the bar + pool table and whatnot; outdoor deck was great (during the right season that is) Great place!

Great little bar and diner. Small menu but everything we tried was *chef's kiss* scrumptious. Excellent waitstaff, helpful, friendly, funny, and efficient. We started with the fried pickles, which were thick-cut crinkle chips, very lightly battered. I enjoyed the spicy ranch, but if you have anyone dining with you who thinks black pepper is hot, you can ask for regular ranch. H got the pulled pork nachos minus veggies. I got the Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp. Both plates were HUGE, massive portions of food. Both were delicious. The drinks menu looked great as well. 10/10, highly recommend.

Mackenzie is such an incredible host/waitress. So accommodating she even got us a bowl of water for our puppy. We sat on the outside deck patio at a nice table with umbrella and our drinks and order was taken promptly. We started with and I Highly recommend the pulled pork nachos they are fire! (She easily put the jalapeños on the side for us as we requested) I’m a big burger guy so I ordered the cheddar smash burger which blew my mind, absolutely incredible. The Cajun fries were fresh and seasoned nicely but not as crispy as I would like. My party ordered the Reuben and they also had rave reviews. Atmosphere is nice, friendly and the food is top tier. HIGH recommendation. Well done to the staff and cooks!

My husband and I have been eating here for over 20 years. We also came here to eat on our first date! ❤️ Clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly. Food is delicious.

some good and some bad: --Beer was warm, they forgot sauerkraut on reuben, Burger onions were supposed to be caramelized but weren't, regular fries were awful (tiny, hard and crunchy, not quite burnt though) and entrees came out while we were only half thru our appetizer (blame that on the kitchen staff). --on the plus side, wings were good, reuben and burger were good other than issues stated above, Sweet potato fries were good. Servers were efficient and friendly.

My girlfriend and I stopped here after a bike ride on the Catskill Scenic Trail (which, incidentally, passes by right down the road from The Bull & Garland) and we had an absolutely wonderful time in this warm, old inn. First, the staff was incredibly friendly and they take great care of you. Second, the food was just out-of-this-world good. We had a scotch egg, fish pie, and bangers and mash - all great comfort foods, all excellent. The smokiness of the fish pie, the peppery sausage combined with the sweet brown gravy over mash and caramelized onions, all washed down with some nice craft beers. The third thing that made it a great time was the atmosphere. We ate at the bar, which we love to do, and their bar area is small but cozy. We met very nice people and had lots of laughs and good conversation. I often like to go to a place more than once before I give such a review, but I know I will be back here. I highly recommend it.

Really lovely little inn and restaurant in the middle of a very quaint town! Their rooms are beautiful and they get amazing light and are decorated so tastefully. Had the pleasure of taking a look through the inn during an engagement session of two of your guests and it was just perfect.

Had some dinner here with family and friends while visiting the area. Such a cute place. I sat indoors by the cozy fireplace, perfect on a chilly rainy evening. The outdoor area looks incredible as well. Drinks in the twinkling pine grove must be amazing. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in making food and drink recommendations. A great selection of local beer and cider to try as well as crafted cocktails. I would highly recommend the Maple Siracha wings and Pork Belly appetizers. I got the Fish and Chips (gotta try that at a British Pub) and it was delicious. I wish I had saved room for the Toffee Pudding. I’m going to have to come back real soon. This pub is attached to a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. I was able to peek at some of the rooms. What an incredible place to get away and relax. I’m definitely going to stay here the next time I visit.

My husband and I stayed at the inn for a weekend getaway and it was exactly what we needed. The rooms are decorated beautifully with a European country house feel. The beds were really comfortable and everything about the room made us able to relax and unwind. We ate at the pub both nights. Friday we enjoyed wood fired pizza outside while listening to music. We chatted with several people, locals and visitors, then sat around a fire before heading back to our room. Saturday we ate inside the pub. Again it felt like we were transported to a small European town. The dark wood and cozy seating areas along with the friendly staff made us want to hang out all night, which we did. We started at our table and had a delicious meal. The fish and chips were the best I ever had, and my husband had the steak which was cooked to perfection. After our dessert of sticky toffee pudding, highly recommended, we sat at the welcoming bar and had a couple drinks. We chatted with the owner and bartender about a few places we should visit in the area for hiking and antiquing which we checked out the next day. The weekend felt like a week and we returned home refreshed and planning our next visit.

Our first stop at Catskill. Totally loved the brewery. it is pretty tiny and when we visited, they were only a couple of folks. We sat inside next to where the beer hops. Our bartender was super nice and welcoming, and he gave us a lot of local recommendations as well. I tried the sour beer, which was honestly my favourite beer from the brewery. My friends like their beer too. It’s a lovely place to have a couple of points in a cozy atmosphere. Definitely come here.
Suman H — Google review
I went here after a hike for the first time. I will not be returning. For the first time in my life I was surrounded by a bar that was filled with children. I don’t mind people bringing their kids to breweries, my friends do it all the time. However sitting at the bar is not the place for them. Sit at the picnic tables, chairs, tables. Not the bar. I didn’t come to a brewery to be around kids. There were kids everywhere. The bartender with the short bangs was less than friendly to every person in my group. The beer was trash. Should have read some untapped reviews prior to ordering. Ordered the Berry sour and devils path IPA. Dumped the sour in the trash. There was some live music and a food truck. The 15$ hamburger at the food truck was well worth the money. Delicious. Go elsewhere.

A couple of times a year, my wife and I will drive up through the Catskills and hit up the breweries and eateries in Roscoe, Livingston Manor, etc. Catskill Brewery is always a must stop for us. Beer is always on point, the staff is always super friendly. Plenty of seating and just a nice vibe.

I stopped in here this past Friday afternoon 6/6. Was their first customer. I’m all about finding new breweries but have had their beer before, locally, so I knew what to expect. However, was able to taste their other brews. They all were excellent. Grass Wagon, Rat Face McDougal to name a couple, were excellent. I purchased about 10 4-packs and gave a lot of it out to friends and family to spread the word. This is an excellent brewery. Wanted to try Flood watch, but were sold out, maybe next time. Then there is the food truck. Had a burger with truffle fries. Both excellent, especially the garlic aioli dip. My only one recommendation, bigger menu in the food truck if possible. Need more options. Quesadilla’s if possible or a giant soft pretzel with beer cheese. Mmmm. Anyway will be back soon, it’s about an hour and 20 min ride but well worth it. Will be attending some concerts at Bethel woods this summer, which is about 15-20 mins away. Plan to hit up the brewery before.

Went here tonight for the first time with my family. Our kids were definitely getting rowdy (2 under 4 years old). The waitress was beyond amazing. She gave us a table set off away from the others and reassured us a million times that the kids were fine and that they could run around in the back and dance to the Irish music. She said it was a family friendly environment and she was definitely right about that. The music was amazing the food was amazing. I loved everything about this place and I wish i would have gotten the waitress name so i could shout her out. 10/5 stars

We went to this bar for a quick dinner after a 3 hour drive . What a pleasant surprise when we walked into the bar and were greeted with a group of musicians playing Irish music. It created such a wonderful atmosphere! The food was typical Irish fare, such as corned beef on rye, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash. The food was great, prices were reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely visit the Shamrock Inn again!

The calamari and chicken sandwich were fresh, delicious, and perfectly crunchy. Honey chicken had a good medium heat with some fried jalapeños on the brioche bun. I want to especially thank Tarah (manager / event coordinator) who was an absolute god send in coordinating everything, setting everything up and being our lifeline throughout the event. I want to also recognize Alyson (event coordinator) who was a dream to work with and lastly Ashley and Alisha two of the best bartenders ever and we all know their job is the most important. The entire team came together to help me finally give my Wife the day she deserved. My husband wanted to try a new restaurant for a change. We both agreed to order in. The order was simple two build burgers, one side of ranch, fresh French fries, and dessert. 1. Burger medium with cheddar cheese, double bacon. 2. Burger medium rare with American cheese, and double bacon, and no lettuce and no tomatoes Side of fries with a gravy on a side and mozzarella cheese. Creme Brûlée for a dessert The man who took my order, told it back to me and it was splendid. We came and picked up, a little pricey dinner for two. I posted some pictures below on what we got. I’m sorry, but if you put the lettuce 🥬 they need to be fresh not on the last breath, not a spoiled tomato either. The was no bacon anywhere. When I called back with a complaint about our order, I was told that the next time they might give me extra. After speaking with a manager about replacing the order of burgers and make them again, I was told no problem. However, when my husband went back, they gave him a missing ingredient container and complementary cheese cake. I almost laughed and cried of the situation be so messed up. You not only messed up our plans and our evening but you also lied to a customer over the phone in replacing the order. I posted some pictures of our desserts. Last time I checked Creme Brûlée is a delicate and delicious dessert 🍮. What I received was not looking appealing nor eatable. If I would not know any better, I would say looks like an omelette. Why my dessert had black pepper on the bottom, I have no idea. Since when cheesecake served in warm/hot temperature? The experience over all is a bad one, between not getting what we paid for, gas, mileage, disappointed guests and not carrying for customers to return.

The perfect dive bar with the perfect music. Kayo is definitely the best bartender and a great vibe. It’s worth the drive. $3.50 for a shit to twirl its and I will definitely be returning.

This fantastic bar may scream "Dive", but it is definitely a place full of character and hospitality. Solid beer selection, busy jukebox, darts and a pool table- what else could you ask for? A great bartender you say? Well... Find out what days Kelly is there and make it your day too. Friendly to us strangers and tight with her regulars. We will be back.

Snugs is the place to go. When the people who work at the other places in town get off work, Snugs is where they go. The community there is strong as hell. It's New Paltz's own "Cheers" bar. Friendliest people you'll ever meet.

I really enjoyed the bartender. She was down to earth and so friendly. Keep her!! She's awesome. Friendly people. We went on 7/2/24 and it was open mic night. Very fun!

A cool eclectic place to hang out and meet a variety of individuals! Beer is reasonably-priced and people are awesome! Had a fun time chatting with people out on the back deck about life! It might be considered a "dive" but those places can yield some of the best nights ever!

The divest of the dive bars and it's awesome. Super nice bartenders! Came to see the band The Hillside Fusion play. Great night.

Wedding venue
Nestled in the charming village of Woodstock, The Colony is a beautifully restored theater that dates back to 1929. Originally built as a hotel in 1927, it has transformed into a vibrant live music venue since reopening its doors in 2000 and again in 2017. This intimate space hosts an eclectic mix of performances ranging from local bands to renowned independent artists, making it a beloved spot for both performers and audiences alike.
I have lived in the area for decades and l love live music but have never been to Colony. On a Friday in April a friend’s boyfriend’s band (Hilltop) was playing there so we went. The second band was The Niche. It was as good as I hoped. Walking in there was only one person sitting at the bar. We ordered drinks and walked around checking out the venue. My wife and I had Tequila Cosmos with Espolon tequila. The bartender was great. Kept our tab open for our group and remembered what we were drinking. It’s a really cool looking place. Having a balcony running around the full room with a high ceiling gives it a larger feel than it is. Upstairs in the front is a room with a pool table. During the second band a few of our group took turns playing pool while others sat in the balcony. In the back there are lots of picnic tables and a stage. I want to go and see a band out there. During the night our group ordered fried shrimp and a couple of orders of french fries to snack on. We also hung out outside in the back after the second band ended. It’s nice to be able to take your drink and get some fresh air. Both bands were great and they knew each other playing the same type of music. I’m used to bands playing covers which these bands didn’t. Long jams with good musicians. I can’t wait to go back again.

Super fun venue with inside bar, tables and stage, plus a kitchen and best of all, an outdoor bar and stage with garden seating. Drinks were well mixed by a friendly server. Great to see live music in an informal setting. Could improve the end of the night instructions- it was unclear if the place was staying open, and although we were served another drink, it felt like we were not overly welcome to stay.

We had the most AMAZING wedding this weekend at Colony Woodstock! Laura and Justin did such an amazing job of organizing the evening, and Ethan did a wonderful job managing our reception playlist and making announcements. We got so many compliments on how delicious the food Chef Joey made was, and he was very accommodating with dietary restrictions. And a huge shoutout to the bar staff, Purple, Miles, and Angelo, who were quick and friendly with everyone's drink orders. One of the best parts of having the wedding there was the town of Woodstock being very walkable. There's lots of local hotels and AirBnbs to stay at so folks can walk or drive a short to the venue, which made planning a breeze. We couldn't have had a more beautiful space or fun night, and the staff is top notch. Definitely consider having your wedding here!

A quaint low-key venue located in the heart of Woodstock New York. Can be easily missed if one is not aware of its location. The occasion was the Upstate Reggae Thanksgiving celebration, and the performances were expertly delivered by local artists with international flair. This was a celebration was inclusive of all patrons and enjoyed enthusiastically by the audience. Upstate Reggae Posse got the ball rolling with an introduction of their signature beats and empowering lyrics. The scope for the group is wide and epitomizes the realities of live via musical delivery. A talented set of performers. Sunday band continued the musical intensity with a variety of songs that kept the vibes intoxicating, and patrons joining to celebrate popular music. From hip-hop, country, rhythm & blues, reggae music, the audience kept rocking continuously. A very talented group displaying adaptability and depth in the choice of songs delivered and their range of vocals. It was truly a unique show and a very enjoyable experience. Nice place to visit with abundant parking, a well stock lounge for refreshments, and signature dishes available for patrons.

Gorgeous fun venue with great music, drinks and food. The indoor shows are usually ticketed and the beautiful backyard is like a never ending festival with donation based shows plenty of space for kids to play and lots of picnic tables.

Beautiful Decor! Nice Bar! Great Bar Tenders. Open Mic Night! Food is Made in an open kitchen. You order at the Kitchen counter and they give you a Buzzer to come back for your food. They have an Indoor and outdoor Stage! Also a Bar Outside. We had a Lovely time listening to Locals sing and preform.

10/10/25 Got harassed by an old lady in a red hat who works there. After showing her my ID, she said I dont look 21 and didn't even want me in the place. I was literally just sitting at the bar minding my own business. The bartenders (who ID'd me prior) apologized profusely for this lady's behavior. Definitely will not be coming back, and will be warning others about this lady.

There’s a gem in the Borscht Belt rough called Annie’s Ruff Cut. The locals have known about it for decades and go for the quality and value. Whether it’s the vibe of great food, it’s a carnivore’s must-stop if you’re visiting. The roast beef is served perfectly, sliced so super thin, with that full-flavor juicy reduction for dipping. Order the beef cold, and it’ll be the rare. Or, order it warm, and it’ll be dipped in, just to cook it enough, Also a fan of the chicken wings, but get them when it’s not busy or early on wings night. Bourbon is my favorite. The burger is generously sized and does the trick—it’s delicious l. The Mac and Cheese isn’t worth it unless your kids ask for it.

Annie's Ruff Cut was a tasty delight. Our whole table ordered their mouth watering roast beef sandwiches and left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Great place!

Unique little eatery with amazing food. I tried the patty melt and it was the best patty melt I've ever had. Kind of bar atmosphere, but mixed with fast casual. Server was kind. Usually dead around early afternoon before lunchtime.
Jack L — Google review
Arrived on a Thursday evening to find the place moderately busy. Was told to sit anywhere. After having time to thoroughly review the menu, was told we couldn’t sit where we were. We were moved to another table with no offer to take our order. Eventually, a drink order was taken and we were told someone else would take our food order. Drinks then arrived timely. Halfway through our drinks, someone finally asked if we were ready to order. We were then told the kitchen was “backed up” and that food would take 30 - 45 minutes. We paid for our drinks and went elsewhere. Hate to have to leave a 1 star review, but going to a restaurant and then not eating is pretty much the definition of a 1 star experience.

Friendly and prompt service. The star was the cheese curds and burgers. Best burger I’ve had in the last year! Love the covered patio in the back.

Kingston Standard Brewing Co. is a charming nano-brewery founded by friends Kyle Needham and Tait Simpson, offering a delightful range of beers in a spacious taproom with indoor and outdoor seating. The brewery has an emphasis on old world styles, with the rauchbier being particularly excellent. It's a family-friendly spot that's also perfect for date nights. Visitors praise the delicious and satisfying beers, gorgeous taproom, and appealing food menu.
Darn it! Forgot to take pics of the food, which was good! Got the seasonal butternut squash pizza, it was savory and yummy. Pepperoni pizza, which was great and the knackwurst ..soooo good. Get it! My favorite beer was the wee heavy scotch ale. It was perfection. Hubby had an old fashioned and we also had a spiked cider. Worth the stop.

I enjoy this place, especially on hot days! Their beer is refreshing and they’ve always got something interesting a new! Get the oysters! The pretzels are fantastic! During the summer they have lobster rolls that are to die for! The pizzas are made from scratch… really you can’t go wrong!! I also recommend looking out for board game days hosted on Sundays by a local comic and game store.

Great brewery in Kingston! We ordered some pale ales and the El Dorado Lager, all great beers. And the Margherita pizza was delicious! Very fresh and the dough was light and soft. We had to come back the next day and try the other pizza options! There was outdoor seating and indoor as well, and the staff were friendly.

This is a wonderful place to get pizza and beer. Just fabulous. We attended a private event and were able to enjoy a wide selection of pizza and I enjoyed their stout. It was excellent. Friendly and efficient staff. And Nate the GM is a credit to this brewery. He kept everything going smoothly at our event. Stop in or order on line. Great place!

Thank you to the entire team at Kingston Standard Brewing Co. for hosting our private wedding welcome party for about 70-80 people!! Nate and his entire team were FANTASTIC—incredible service, delicious food, and spot-on with the details. Nate was so diligent and careful with the planning in the lead-up, he spent hours with us on the phone mapping out floor plan, the menu, and overall guest experience. He is a gem of a GM and let us bring in our own bud vases and hook up our own playlist—it was the most memorable night. They have such an extensive menu which was perfect for our guests, with an amazing selection of wine, cider and even non-alcoholic sodas in addition to beer, it made it perfect place to host our party!!

Stopped in on the way the Headless Horseman Hayrides after a long drive and the bartender was awesome and patient with us. The Schwarzbier was the best I've ever had, the pizza and arugula salad were outstanding as well. Great spot glad we stopped!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of May. Nice spacious brewery taproom with seating both inside and out. Somewhat small range of beers on tap, with a seeming emphasis on old world styles (which I like). The rauchbier I had was excellent. Only one serving size offered. Average prices. Friendly and attentive service. Appealing food menu but we weren’t eating during our visit. Had a good experience here and I’d be interested in returning to try some more beers and perhaps some food.

I really enjoyed their beer. The pizza was okay; the sauce was a bit sour which I wasn’t really a fan of. The oysters were fresh and they come with hot sauce and a pink vinegar sauce. The lobster roll was really good! It’s great for a nice day time stop!

I can’t believe it took me so long to find this bar! After dinner on Main St, my beau and I were looking to shoot some pool. Headed over to Captn Kidd’s because it was the only table I could find in town. When we rolled up, the tiki bar had Kenny Chesney playing. Great vibes. Smiling ppl at the outdoor bar. We headed inside to shoot and entered what can only be described as a pirate fantasy land. The service was great. Fellow patrons were friendly. Spoke with the owners and they couldn’t have been nicer. The owner Mike sprang into action to repair a tip on my stick when he realized it was broken. The bathroom was very clean. Beers cold and music was on point. We had a great time and would return again.

Dangerously cool. Open till 4 am but I think I left before that... Cash only. One of the coolest bars I have been too. Feels like a Pirate Bar if there ever was one. As a Pirate I naturally had to drink there all night. Real close to the Marina where we are taking the mast down on Dragon's Lair before transiting the Erie Canal.

There is not enough room here to convey all the great things about this place! First off the owners are amazing and make this place what it is! From the moment we walked in it was like catching up with old friends and left there feeling like we were friends for life. The amount of warmth , respect and hospitality conveyed from the locals there was nothing short of awesome! If you have even 20 minutes to stop in and have 1 drink it is absolutely worth it! Tell Mike I said hello!

Night Swim Kingston has quickly become a beloved addition to the local scene, offering an upbeat atmosphere that invites everyone in. The friendly staff and welcoming patrons create a sense of community, making it an ideal spot for solo visitors to feel right at home. With memorable events like the Burlesque Show adding excitement, there's always something fun happening here. After catching a show at UPAC, many have found themselves enjoying refreshing drinks and engaging conversations with the lively bartenders.
First off… this fried chicken sandwich is in the conversation for best in the county. Wings were also fantastic. Great drink selection including cheaper beers for folks on a budget. Locals that loved the Anchor will know there’s a cool atmosphere already… Night Swim amped it up. Very cool to see regular live music here again. The patio is a huge bonus and the place to hang in nice weather without being right off the street. Friendly staff, feels like a true neighborhood bar now. Not too fancy, not too dive-y. Just what Kingston needed.
Zac S — Google review
So many regrets about choosing night swim for date night. The bartender was terrible. I want to call him ignorant and not malicious but for a bartender to put the drinks of two women in-front of another man at the bar and then turn around leaving a stranger with our drinks is inexcusable. Was he expecting us to come get them? I don’t know. Did I? Yes, because I wasn’t going to leave my drink near a stranger. Then the drinks were terrible anyway. The burger was fine, minus the paper that was in it. No way in hell was this meal worth $72. My wife asked the bartender for “bartender’s choice cocktail” requesting it be colorful, sweet, and vodka based. The image attached is what she received. It was bitter and a mess. 10/10 would not recommend.

Kingston needed this bar and restaurant!!!! The atmosphere is very upbeat. The staff and owners are simply awsome!!!! The patrons are extremely friendly and welcoming and with this being said anyone going in this place solo will feel extremely comfortable!!!!! The events are so much fun and memorable, especially the Burlesque Show I just attended this past Saturday 9/14/24....I had the BEST TIME..!!!!! Bottom Line....GO FOR A NIGHT SWIM WHERE THE WATER IS REFRESHING AND THE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!!!!!!

Me and my band Lolux performed here not too long ago. We were met with an amazing daytime bartender who told us where to go to set up. While waiting we took time to play some games in their lounge area and was surprised to find extremely cool couches, an array of board games and plenty of time to cool down after a long journey. After the show I got to have fun with friends at the bar and outside tables, enjoyed the incredibly solid wings (Cajun and Parm/garlic) and the Paper Airplane cocktail with a side of some Local Keegans Ales Mother’s Milk. Had an awesome time. Quinn and Caitlin were amazing Nighttime bartenders. Banging Night!

We walked to Night Swim after seeing a show @ UPAC and really enjoyed ourselves. Drinks were good, beer was cold enough, bartender was nice and fun to joke around with. We'll go back next time we're in town for something at UPAC.

Very cool spot, friendly staff and DELICIOUS cocktails. A great space to hang out if you're looking for a classy and welcoming atmosphere.
S M — Google review
A fantastic bar with a bright and upbeat atmosphere and a feel-good vibe the moment you walk through the door. All of the bartenders are engaging and friendly despite the challenges of a diverse group of customers who offer a wide variety of needs and wants. The cook is constantly changing and updating the menu in order to satisfy the wants and needs of the clientele, but regardless of what is offered the food is always good, especially for the low prices. I love the backyard! It's cozy and comfortable with a beautiful little waterfall that makes you feel you're in a little oasis instead of right off Broadway in Kingston. I've met both the owners and if you're a socially conscious person interested in supporting a business owned by a pair of self-made, hardworking women who are striving to succeed in a cultural climate throwing infinite obstacles in the way of prospective woman-entrepreneurs, you should support Nightswim. Their kindness and caring for their employers filters down through the entire establishment. When one of their bartenders recently was injured in a bicycle accident, an owner departed her Vermont vacation early to haul down to Kingston and bring a care package of food and get-well-wishes to the bartender and his family. This is the type of family-feel and positivity you'll find at this bar. The good vibes and goodwill at Nightswim are rare, but the versatile nature of the bar makes it a bar for absolutely everyone.

Amazing spot! So beautiful inside and out. Wine on tap which was a nice surprise. Staff was so friendly and the other patrons were also chatty and fun. Good vibes all around. So glad to have found this spot! Always good to have a new place to grab a bite and drink and hear some live music! Met a buddy here on a Belgian Weekend. Burgers and Tacos were tasty! During warmer weather this spot will be a nice local hangout. Decent rounded menu and spacious interior. Might invite my vintage foreign car club to have a meeting here!! Minus 1 Star because when we asked our waitress about a suggestion for some of the awesome Beers they serve, her response was "I don't drink beers so I have no idea...." - uhh....ok... not entirely helpful? Anyway, good spot and will definitely be back *Extra Cool-Points for the framed vintage NYC Matchbooks in the restroom

This place is super pretty and I love that you just flip a can for service. We went on a rainy day so we did not get to enjoy the outdoors, but it looks like it's nice. Seems like there is art. I enjoyed my cider. The food was ok, I got wings and I like the flavor but I really wanted more sauce. It's was barely dipped in sauce. The burger was ok too. The twisty fries were wonderful! I would suggest getting twisty fries. Staff were friendly.
