The ingredients at Enzo Café are exceptionally fresh, with the seafood and meat we tried being large, tender, and full of flavor. Highly recommend the garlic bread, lobster linguini, and pork belly. You can truly taste the chef’s dedication in the sauces and details, with side dishes like the potatoes and apple sauce adding delightful surprises. Even the bread dip left a lasting impression. The café is pet-friendly, set in a beautiful environment, and the staff are warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Every single word in the dish name just sounds like a win! They were super generous with the prawns and the cheese. You really can’t go wrong with anything tomato-based here. 🧀 Burrata Mozzarella – $36 This salad was massive! The burrata paired with prosciutto was incredibly tasty. The cherry tomatoes and bell peppers in it were fresh and flavorful too — not just filler! 🥔 Crispy Potatoes – $17.50 These roast potatoes were absolutely perfect — crispy, golden, and super satisfying. The portion? Huge. We couldn’t even finish it. 🍞 Scones – $17.50 I always thought scones were meant to be small and dainty… These ones? Absolute giants! Totally unexpected and totally worth it.

Just a reminder for ppl who want a quick bite and don’t have time for long hours wait. We ordered duck liver parfait, crispy potatoes, gnocchi, prawn linguine and slow cooked beef. The $48 prawn linguine came with gigantic portion size, I think they should think about reducing the portion size (can feed 3) and get the price down a bit. We ended up waiting half of it. Gonna say the gnocchi is the best of all, gnocchi was fried/pan fried a bit so it gives the gnocchi a bit more texture. Drink wise we chose apple juice ($8) and cold brew. For an $8 apple juice I hope it’s freshly squeezed but if just from the packed juices I think. We sat there for 2 hours and 1 hour and a half was waiting for our food to come… we asked the staff to chase up the food for us but the staff told us they are busy on weekends. Just note they charge 10% surcharge for weekends, I don’t get why the speed is still slow when a surcharge is charged on weekends already.

Absolutely stunning day for a family lunch! We had the best time and ordered some delightful meals, as well as trying a glass of wine and Aperol Spritz! My favourite was the sticky date pudding, divine. There is also a wine tasting space and several other businesses to check out in this hub. Would suggest booking a table on a nice day, we were glad we did, lunchtime was busy! Easy parking. Excellent service, the staff were super nice and just made the whole experience amazing. We cant wait to come back!

Absolutely delightful place for lunch. I had the linguine ( pictured) - superb with loads of prawns and spicy chorizo. Hubby had the beef cheeks which he described as lovely. The real highlight was our lovely Fijian waiter who was so charming and super helpful, giving advice on what to do locally in the Hunter and where to dine etc. overall, a gorgeous place for lunch!!

Very mixed experience - the pace of service was torturously slow. Be prepared to wait a long long time for both ordering & food. Cafe is either understaffed or there’s gap in service levels. Food was puzzling. They clearly charge more premium restaurant level pricing (e.g. $47 for a pasta) but the selling points are only presentation & the sheer portion size (which are huge). Flavour lacks depth on the seafood pasta (drenched with cream sauce like an Alfredo) & the beef cheek (underseasoned & the sauce does nothing) Only conciliation is that the restaurant is located well & the ambience is quite nice & open. Wouldn’t bother waiting again for this.

Must visit if you are in the Hunter Valley! The dishes are designed to be shared so make sure to bring somebody. Highly recommend the scones. They were light, soft, warm, and perfect with a coffee.

We had our Anniversary lunch today at Amanda’s on the Edge, the staff were amazing and the food was just delicious, couldn’t have asked for better service. We had a wonderful lunch at Amanda’s on the Edge. The outdoor setting was absolutely beautiful, with views of the grapevines that made for a perfect, relaxing atmosphere. It was a lovely day to sit outside and enjoy everything this spot has to offer. The food was excellent — every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The Pork Belly entrée was rendered to perfection, the grilled prawns were juicy and delicious, and the Sri Lankan Chicken Curry was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. Service was friendly, attentive, and added to the overall experience. Couldn’t have asked for more! I would definitely recommend Amanda’s on the Edge without hesitation.

Spent our anniversary here. Food was exceptional and the service was great. The attention to detail was impressive. Our waiter even came with a candle and said this is your citronella candle. Which made it feel even more personal. Having our dessert brought out and an offer of a photo together was a great touch. Thank you for looking after us on our special night.

Wow! My husband and I decided on a place we hadn’t tried before for our anniversary. What an absolute gem. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, the food was outstanding — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared. The Sri Lankan chicken curry was a standout! The venue itself was spotless and well-maintained, with a great vibe that made it just as suitable for a casual meal as it would be for a special occasion. We left completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent food, warm service, and a lovely setting. A true local favourite!

We booked table for 5 pax dinner on Saturday. When we arrived, a waiter welcomed us at door and took us to our table straight away. The ambience and lighting was warm and cozy with just right music playing, the restaurant was fully packed. All the food we had on point, flavorful and decent portion. For $120 3-course menu with the atmosphere, the staff and whole experience, I would say it was worth every penny💕 Definitely would recommend anyone want to visit Hunter Valley to try lunch or dinner here💖

We had the best time at Amanda’s on the Edge! We spent some time looking at different restaurants around the Hunter Valley, reading reviews and checking menus. As soon as we saw this menu, we didn’t hesitate for a second! It felt more original, with dishes like merguez (we’re from France and it’s such a classic, but hard to find here) and lamb. We started with the merguez dumplings (really tasty) and the haloumi fritters (absolutely delicious). For mains, my husband had the lamb and it was fantastic; while I had the fish of the day (barramundi), which was delicate and full of flavour. For dessert, we both had the chocolate raspberry mousse, a perfect ending. The rosé was excellent, the setting beautiful, and the staff wonderful (special thanks to Ayush for the fantastic service). Extra mention for the bread and butter served with the meal, such a thoughtful touch. A perfect memory for our wedding anniversary. Highly recommended!

Great EXPerience! We had a fantastic time dining here. The food and atmosphere were both excellent. My wife especially loved the sourdough, and every dish we tried was thoroughly enjoyable. There’s a great variety on the set course, and everything was cooked to perfection. We would definitely recommend this place it’s probably the best restaurant in the region, in our honest opinion.

We were really looking forward to our visit to EXP. — it's got a great reputation and the setting in Hunter Valley is beautiful. While there were definitely some highlights, overall the experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The good: the wagyu dishes were outstanding. Easily the highlight’s of the tasting menu — beautifully prepared, and exactly what you hope for from a fine dining spot like this. Unfortunately, the rest of the plates didn’t quite land. Dishes felt a bit underwhelming and didn’t have the flavour or finesse we expected. Nothing was bad, but it didn’t match the standard set by the wagyu or the expectations that come with EXP.’s reputation. Service-wise, it felt like the team was running on empty. The staff were polite but seemed a bit burnt out — no introductions, minimal engagement, and a few service missteps. At one point, utensils were forgotten, and other times they were brought awkwardly mid-conversation, cutting into the flow of the evening. Small things, but they added up and broke the vibe. Overall, it was left feeling a bit off. The experience lacked the polish and energy you'd expect at this level. We’re assuming it was just an off night, but for the price and the reputation, it missed the mark for us this time.

The food was absolutely amazing. The dishes were not only delicious using Australian flavours but also beautifully placed. Watching the chefs while they prepared each dish was a joy to watch and then to have them come and explain the dishes made for a memorable experience. The wine pairings for each dish were so well matched that that we did not dislike any of them, even though we can be a little fussy with our normal wine choices.

Absolute magic, from the moment the door was opened for us until we left, the staff and food were all phenomenal. I can not say anything negative about our night because it was all perfection. They made my birthday dinner something I will never forget. We had the wine pairings and every wine was explained with exceptional knowledge. Every dish was accompanied with an explanation of what was being served and where it came from, all of the chefs spoke to us. We got the additional Murray Cod wing and the wing and the Aquna Murray Cod dish were the standouts, the flavours of both were a dream. The full description of the cod fish is... Confit Aquna Murray Cod, black garlic and mushroom puree, pan roasted Mother Fungus Chocolate Oyster Mushrooms, Newcastle Greens Sugar Loaf Cabbage, finished with yuzu kosho buerre blanc. I'm am so glad I had some of the sourdough left so I could use it to mop up the rest of the sauce, not sure how they would've felt if I'd licked the plate clean, but there was no way I was leaving any of that sauce on the plate. Sitting at the Chef's Bar was the perfect view to see what was happening and how the food was being prepared. Everyone worked beautifully together, the chefs, the wait staff, sommelier and the guy in the back who popped in and out, and the the young chef, who was on his first night, was lovely and he was knowledgeable on the dishes, impressive first night! I LOVE the addition of the QR code on the menu (that I took home) so we can read through an explanation of the dishes while I'm non stop talking about our meal to our friends and family. EXP, you deserve all of the praise, we can't wait to come back

Thought it was about time to see what all the fuss was about. Well Muse certainly did not disappoint. From the moment you walk to the doors, you are greeted by a friendly staffer who opens the door and greets you. The restaurant with its large open fire place, and open kitchen has a feeling of honesty and calm. The staff are extremely polite, attentive, and well versed on the degustation menu. We had a mini family reunion at Hunter Valley last December. This meal was one of the highlights. It was one of the best restaurants we've visited in Australia. The staff and the service is outstanding especially since we have a rather large group. Everyone is friendly and helpful, from the host at the door to our waitress and somm. Some of us had the wine pairing and everything is well designed and thought out. The entire five course meal is well paced, delicious and flows perfectly. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful long lunch with wine tasting at Muse Restaurant in Hunter Valley. The wine pairing was excellent, starting with three whites, followed by two reds, and finishing with a dessert wine. Each pour was introduced with friendly and professional explanations. The food was equally impressive — the pan roasted Redgate Farm duck was perfectly cooked. A relax afternoon in Hunter Valley.

From the moment you enter Muse the attention to detail starts and doesn’t stop. Staff are so friendly but respectful of your dining experience. The food is delicious and innovative with each dish artistically presented. The wine menu is extensive and the staff are even happy to make cocktails on request. The cost reflects the dining experience being a 5 course degustation menu on Fridays which is when we went. You can also have matching wines with each course. This is well worth the experience and the different flavors will certainly wow you.

Service 10/10 - servers and sommeliers alike were very proactive and attentive. Drinks 10/10 - Absolutely delicious. The best espresso martini I've ever had in my life and incredible coffee + wine. Ambience 10/10 - lovely open wooden fireplace Food was unfortunately a big big letdown! Although dishes were well presented, we found that most of them had lackluster flavours. The fish courses were delicate and refined, and I enjoyed the scotch egg, but in general we found the other dishes to be average. For a fine dining degustation at this price we would also assume we would have a main course with some form of red or white meat, and we felt unsatisfied with the mushroom main that we were served. No one on our table finished that particular dish. It felt like a missed opportunity to showcase local livestock produce. I can't say I left feeling full and satisfied. I'm torn about this place because absolutely everything except the food was perfection. If there was a bar option I'd love to return for a drink but with the food at its current standard, I was left disappointed and don't think I will be back.

The degustation at Muse Restaurant is fantastic. Deserving of their chefs hats. Be sure to add their signature coconut dessert! Amazing. And if dining on the weekend, the scotch eggs need to be added too. Also really delicious. A trip to Hunter Valley is a good reason to indulge in wonderful local produce, and Muse didn’t disappoint.

Exquisite! I was blown away by the flavours, the elegance and restraint served up at Restaurant Botanica. This culinary trifecta is not easily achievable and must be commended. With an arm twisting local and beyond wine list, this place is hard to ignore. My family and I indulged ourselves. Tempura prawns, tuna sashimi, crispy chicken, beef carpaccio, gnocchi, beef short rib, malt ice cream and dark chocolate torte. On the surface, these don't sound jaw dropping. And really, the dishes of fancy restaurants sound like a collection of ingredients. But add in talented chef prowess and great service and these collections of ingredients sing. We'll be back!

Our second visit and did not disappoint after a memorable first visit. The dishes are Japanese inspired and blend a range of unusual ingredients to great effect. Our waiter was relatively new but was attentive and helpful.

What a beautiful location! I loved everything about this place — the view, the food, and the sunset. My photos don’t do it justice, but the flavours were absolutely magnificent. We started with the lobster bisque and duck parfait — both rich and perfectly balanced. Then came the mushrooms with garlic, done in so many creative ways that every bite tasted different and full of flavour — easily my favourite dish of the night! The chicken followed and it was just as impressive — so juicy and tender that every chicken I have in the future will seem dry by comparison. This was my second favourite dish. A big thank you to the amazing team for their warm service and to the chef for such incredible flavours. Truly a memorable dining experience!

A very intimate and picturesque fine dining restaurant that served as a special and memorable place to have our honeymoon. Not only did we thoroughly devour the special set menu for dinner that was carefully curated by head chef Adam Frey, he ALSO facilitated an impromptu and delicious afternoon lunch for my very hungry husband when options in the Valley were limited! Highly recommend Restaurant Botanica, a wonderful experience where we shall return to in due course ✨

The atmosphere of this restaurant is serene, peaceful and absolutely stunning. We could even see wallabies in the vineyards from our table which was amazing. The food was delicious, unique, and well priced for a fine-dining establishment. The cocktails were to die for. I can't wait to return!

An unforgettable dining experience at Botanica We had one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had in the Hunter Valley at Botanica. The restaurant has only recently opened, but everything — from the atmosphere to the food — feels refined and deeply thought out. A special mention to Loki, the manager, who made our evening truly exceptional. He is incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As someone who is intolerant to onion and garlic, I often find dining out a bit challenging, but Loki handled everything with such care and confidence. He assured me I would leave full, happy, and satisfied — and he was absolutely right. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, and the service was impeccable. Botanica is an absolute gem, and I can’t wait to return!

Easily booked online for a dinner on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent - constant checking us and topping up drinks and asking if we need anything so we never had to ask. We had the tasting menu of 5 courses. Food was fresh, flavours suitably Australian and not too challenging. I took my teenagers who ate everything. The servings are generous so I would recommend an early lunch so you have plenty of room (or skipping lunch). Extensive wine list which we did not sample. The house made sodas were spritzy and reasonably priced. Lovely ambience with views over the vineyard and music is at perfect level for quiet private conversations. I would recommend this for couples, adult social gatherings and families with mature children who can sit and eat a meal. They do ask about dietary concerns. Plenty of parking - apparently have EV charging but we didn't get to plug in. I would go back after I had tried all the dining in the area!

We had an absolutely outstanding experience at Petersons House restaurant! From start to finish, everything was flawless. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful meal. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply exceptional. The lamb rack was to die for—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and exceeded expectations. The whole dining experience was such a pleasure and the deconstructed lemon meringue was nothing short of sensational – the perfect finish to an amazing meal. Our grandchildren were also so well catered for and entertained with the activity book waiting for them at the table on arrival, which made the experience even more special. Petersons House is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning!

The venue itself is stunning—rolling vineyards, elegant spaces, and a romantic atmosphere that shines through no matter the weather. We are so grateful to have chosen this place for our wedding, and especially grateful for the entire Peterson’s team, who turned a rainy day into the most joyful, unforgettable celebration. Peterson House is an absolute dream to shoot! I love that I can get ceremony shots inside and then change up the lighting with the sandstone chapel outside all in one place. I was reserved when I heard we were going to do a gelato and wine tasting but our server Geoff was on point. Very knowledgeable and made the whole experience a bit of fun as well. The pairing of wines were perfect.

We stopped at Circa for dinner, the building is a styled homestead with a dining room that has a lovely wood fireplace. The food had some great tastes and all produce was very fresh. One recommendation would be to make some slight changes to the menu with flavours specifically the lamb shoulder, whilst it was delicious the seasoning lacked a little.

Nestled in the heart of the Pokolbin area of the Hunter Valley, is this gem of a restaurant. We don't often do "proper fine dining" partly due to the cost, but also cos hubby prefers simpler fare. However, it being a special occasion, we splurged and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The restaurant itself is in an old (circa 1867) building and is charmingly rustic. The juxtaposition of perfectly set tables, gleaming glassware and snowy linens alongside the gleaming old timber floors and huge ceiling beams is quite delightful. Service was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable (the descriptions of each dish as they were served was a very nice touch). Its a set menu with 4-5 choices each for entree, main and dessert with a couple of complimentary slices of ciabatta to start. We started with the Seared Scallops (hubby) and Braised Quail...both delicious. Mains were Baked Barra with Witlof (perfect!) and Pumpkin Risotto with Braised Rabbit (a tad under-seasoned and rather bland but the texture was spot on). We ordered the "salad" and its the reason for the 4 stars on the food. Don't waste your money...its ridiculously overpriced and it hardly constituted a "salad"...just exotic leaves on a plate with some salt and viniagrette. Desserts are to die for and a complimentary surprise additional plate (chocolate mousse cake) was lovely and much appreciated. Well worth a visit and whilst expensive, its not exorbitant and we'll definitely be back.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Circa. We came here for our anniversary dinner and were really looking forward to it — unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. It started out well. We placed our set menu order within 5 minutes of being seated, and the entrées came out promptly (about 10 minutes later). The scallops were delicious, and my husband enjoyed the beef tartare. But after that, everything went downhill. We waited 50 minutes for our mains to arrive. During that time, we noticed at least four other tables that came in after us had already received (and even finished) their mains. I had to follow up with the staff, and about 10 minutes later, our mains finally arrived — it really felt like they had forgotten about us. By the time we were eating, two of those other tables had already left. My fish and my husband’s duck were just okay — nothing special. Honestly, the potato side dish was the highlight of the mains. Desserts were also average. To be fair, the wait staff were very apologetic and handled it graciously — they removed two of our earlier drinks from the bill to make up for the delay. The issue didn’t seem to be with them personally, but likely with the kitchen’s timing. Overall, the experience was very disappointing. We arrived at 6:30 PM and didn’t finish until 9 PM — and we’re not slow eaters. While we appreciated the staff’s effort to make things right, it wasn’t the enjoyable anniversary dinner we were hoping for, and I sadly wouldn’t recommend Circa based on our experience.

Very nice venue, old world charm meets sophisticated yesteryear. Takes you back to first settlers of the region. Food was lovely, very flavoursome, my duck was delicious, perfectly cooked with sweet flavours. We sat by the huge fire place adding a romantic warmth. A delightful experience made better by being a short stroll back to the Convent.

A beautiful venue, excellent service and delicious wine. The food was good but it didn’t quite match the price for me. We still had a lovely lunch but I also hadn’t anticipated the surcharge (Sunday I assume) on top of the set menu price. It ended up a very pricey meal that was nice but not particularly special. The dessert was the exception however! They were absolutely unreal.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Fish of the day is gorgeous, way above my expectation. And the richness combination of sweetness, sourness and salt in the dessert Alaska is hard to forget. The service was warm and considerate too.

Beautiful property, delicious food and great views! While there are many good tasting menus in the area, this should be on the top of your list to consider. While the menu changes frequently, you can usually count on a very good dry aged, bone in rib. Also great was the Seafood Mousseline. Pair with one of their delicious wines and you've got the perfect afternoon!

We made a last-minute decision to visit Hunter Valley and were fortunate to secure a booking at The Gates Restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality; complimentary blueberry drink and avocado bruschetta. The food at The Gates Restaurant was a true highlight. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The flavors were well-balanced and the ingredients were clearly of high quality.

What a delight, we have been to The Gates many times over the years. This was by far the best meal there yet. We had a glorious long lunch with friends who have yet to enjoy the pleasures of the Hunter Valley, so we took them to our favourite places. We were served by Andrea who was wonderful and attentive, the food was excellent and of exception standard of preparation and presentation. I would have no hesitation to recommend this restaurant to visitors to the Hunter.

Long weekend in the Vines- first visit for many years- so, where to have a quality dinner on a busy Saturday night? ESCA at Bimbadgen Estate more than fulfilled our expectations- friendly staff, impeccable service (even to asking if we needed an Uber or cab ordered at the end of our evening). Nothing was too much trouble. The food was a fixed 3 or 4 course menu with a series of choices in each category- but the quality, expert preparation and presentation was superb. Befitting a top Sydney eatery, this was fantastic food and, very reasonably priced. We chose a Shiraz grown and cellared on the premises and expertly presented. Thank you all for a great night out to savour and remember. Only downside was the hard floors walls and ceilings which echoed conversations around the room. We will be back. Highly recommended.

We were very disappointed with our dining experience at Esca yesterday. We had been told it was fantastic by our friends that were with us, hence why we booked. The price bracket did not reflect the service or food served. Very underwhelmed. Some dishes were fantastic, but most were below average. If you go, order the artichoke, salmon gravalax and Stracciatella for entree - they were delicious. We had 4 different mains - the pork belly was outstanding but the fish, duck and ravioli were very, very average. The young lady serving us was very pleasant but had not been trained on the food or drinks menu. We were brought champagne glasses for our white wine. Very over priced for what we got. The view was amazing but I'm afraid we definitely won't be back or recommending Esca.

Hosted my Hens dinner party in the private dining room and it was perfect! Food was excellent, service was incredible and staff were super friendly! Thank you guys for putting up with our silly disney/harry potter games and going along with the pranks my bridesmaids had to pull! It was ☆ Magical ☆

I was surprised by the unique combination of kingfish with a green curry sauce and their dipping sauce for the fries😆👍🏻 We also ordered the Moroccan chicken, the chicken meat was well cooked, however the egg plant (comes as a side) was a bit too salty. Overall, the experience was lovely with beautiful views and great service. I ordered a Gamay (not their in-house wine, but one from Victoria) and it was superb! Really enjoyed that glass! A bit overpriced, but worth it for a great lunch, especially after a long day in the hot weather.

Had a lovely meal here with two girlfriends to celebrate our birthdays. The service was amazing. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. The food was fantastic. Serving sizes were quite good - enough for the number of courses (we had three) but not super tiny like some high end restaurants are. We visited at night so didn’t get to see the view - maybe next time. Highly recommend for a high end meal out at the Hunter Valley that isn’t seriously expensive.

The view is great, the space wonderful. The food missed the mark in places. The Tatar was completely overshadowed by the capers, if the plate looks more green the red you went too far. Hand chop is always appreciated but knife skills might need upgrading. The zucchini flowers, very generous portion and very rich, less is more with Gorgonzola. However the pork was delicious although plating was more bistro than fine dining and duck cooked very well. Service efficient, hardly missing a beat even with a large function, but lacked warmth, and failing at hiding frustrations with guests. I don’t think one would ever complain about a lunch here but I wouldn’t be sending any post cards either.

We recently dined at Esca & it was fabulous all round from the excellent service, to the delicious food & the awesome cocktails. Kerr & his team are professional & on top of their game. We have already booked again with friends. One of the best in The Hunter, absolutely recommend!

We had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL PERFECT wedding reception dinner at Harvest at Ridgeview! From the day we stopped by unannounced to check it out, the manager Kris was personable, helpful and great about communication. She gave me her card and was always quick to respond to questions and requests (which were all catered to flexibly) as we planned out the night. The location is stunning and the service on the night was wonderful. The team coordinated our cake delivery with our baker, displayed it nicely for us for photos, and cut and served it before packing up all the leftovers for us. Everyone raved about the food and they catered to our TON of dietary restrictions with ease. There were so many thoughtful touches that I didn’t expect, such as fresh flowers in vases on the tables and drink menus with our names printed on them- and we didn’t even book the whole restaurant, just booked our group! I only wish I had been able to thank Kris in person on the night as well! Thank you Kris, and the Ridgeview team!!!

Well, This is a hidden treasure! A bit off the beaten track, but is so well worth your while. There is easy parking to the front door. We had such a lovely day and we were treated very well by Craig. The scenery is very relaxed looking out on the vineyard over a small dam with reaves and bird wild life. You can sit inside or out, still under cover to an open deck . The service was impeccable and so was the quality of food and their own wine is matched. I highly recommend Ridge View as a higher end restaurant for your special occasion or just to spoil yourselves.

I recently photographed a wedding at RidgeView and had an amazing time! The couple stand at the onsite accommodation - perfectly situated just far enough away from each other to have privacy the night before their wedding, but close enough to travel between for your photographer. This accommodation is also a short distance away from the ceremony, reception and photography locations. It has that large Hunter Valley vibe without any elements being to far apart. The Ceremony was hosted on the deck with a vineyard backdrop. When the walked up the hill for bridal party photos - we had the option to shoot in the vineyards, large open fields and beautiful gardens close to the restaurant. The reception took place inside with enough space in the restaurant that also connects to the external deck.

Lovely location for lunch. Very professional and knowledgeable staff to aid in your choice of wine with lunch. Head to the cellar door after lunch and pick up a dozen of their best. Amazing lunch experience.

Fantastic experience, randomly recommended by friends, wasn’t expecting a such high service and good quality with a middle of nowhere. Perfect food and wine pairing is amazing. Staff is sooo nice, I completely enjoy my dishes so is my partner. Highly recommended.

Absolutely spectacular food, unusual and beautifully presented. Loved all dishes but particularly the Murray cod and kangaroo tartare. Staff were lovely but it was a bit confusing with so many different staff attending and would love to have heard more about the dishes and chef. I would also love to see a bit more love on the kids menu in future - the fish and chips was fine but something more homemade would be wonderful. Overall a wonderful experience - thank you.

Found Yellow Billy on Google Maps. Liked the reviews, location and the menu. I'm a big fan of live fire cooking and this didn't disappoint. Flexible $110 2 course menu was our choice so we had 2 starters, three mains and one dessert between three of us, all as sharing dishes. All dishes were superb 👌🏻 Great presentation, locally sourced ingredients, some grown onsite. Stand outs in a great line up were the prawn croquettes, lamb shoulder and the steak. Special mention for the amazing creamy spuds. Highly recommended.

We had an incredible dinner experience at this restaurant. Our waitress, Mikki, provided exceptional service. Every single plate we received was some of the best food we've consumed. Their support for dietary issues was also fantastic. Gluten free bread was delicious. Would absolutely recommend.

Lunch today at Yellow Billy was outstanding. Fantastic service from all the staff, attentive and knowledgeable. Choose to share 3 entrees and 3 mains with my two co-diners, which also came with complimentary olives and house made focaccia. Could not fault a single dish, all stars in their own right. Beautifully cooked and presented, without being pretentious. The newly added Kangaroo Tartar was the stand out, show casing some stunning native ingredients. Truely a credit to the Hunter Valley dining scene!

Wow ! Amazing quality ! Everything we ordered was amazing I couldn't even have time to take a photo of the octopus or the pork rillete entrees as I ate it so fast ! Randomly drove by and decided to give it a try was a bit hungry... braised short ribs melted in my mouth !

While it was not too cold of a morning, we were delighted to have our booked outdoor table reserved right by the fireplace and didn’t have to wait too long before the fire was started. The meals came out at a perfect time allowing us to catch up and each dish was absolutely delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helpful ☺️

Unfortunately not the best place to go to. Ordered the roast pork with crackling and the kitchen had poured sauce over the crackling so it went soggy. Beers and cocktails were good and bar staff were friendly. Need to have some sort of queuing control at the bar so people know where they should queue and served in order. Tables need to be wiped over after lunch so as they are clean for dinner.

The beef ribs were excellent, paired with a very tasty potato purée. The fish and chips were a bit underwhelming, as the batter lacked flavor. The wagyu beef rump was cooked perfectly to order—no complaints there. Unfortunately, the mussels were a letdown; they arrived cold, which took away from the experience, although the sauce itself was delicious even served that way. The garden salad served with the meals was actually very good—worth mentioning, especially since some reviews suggested otherwise.. The Beeramisu was fantastic—a standout dessert—but it would have been even better with a bit less cream.

Ate there twice in 2 days. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The menu is sufficiently varied but retains some familiar goto dishes. Weekly smoked meat special is great. Smoked porchetta this week was awesome but their beef brisket burger was the star for me. Loved their twice fried potatoes with the tangy ranch dressing. $10 for a schooner felt a bit expensive considering they brew it themselves, but it didn't stop me enjoying a few. Lovedale Lager was my favourite.. Definitely be back for more as soon as possible.

Great tacos, healthy serve washed down perfectly with Blood Orange Cider, exclusively on tap here in the Hunter. Worth a visit for extensive range of @sydneybrewerhuntervalley brews on tap, including limited editions like Dream Weaver.

No taste at all. Fish must have stored long time in fridge and you can feel it’s gone bad. Very bland. Once you bit the food, you can feel it had been frozen and re heated few times. They pour a pint of beer when asked for a ginger beer, and without rectifying the issue, ask the customer to get 2 ginger beers as it’s already been charged. Don’t recommend this place at all.

We came as a family for a birthday lunch and was delighted with the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the seating arrangement. We sat at a table outside on a beautiful day under shade sails. Absolutely beautiful. Food was amazing! Highly recommend Lovedale Bar + Grill.

Bought the scotch fillet $60 and the mac n cheese $18. When I went up to get the food it was in takeaway boxes and when I told them I didn’t order takeaway the chef said you ordered takeaway and shrugged me off even though the waiter showed me the chefs receipt didn’t say takeaway, so they just gave me two extra plates to put it in. Also ordered the scotch fillet medium rare and it was well done and the mac n cheese was the size of my palm which is so small for $18. Definitely got scammed

We were recommended this place by a local business not far away and we thought we would give it a go. It was our 36th Wedding Anniversary dinner and the place certainly had a great atmosphere and fell about it. It also has rooms there too in an excellent bush surrounded by some beautiful nature and views. To all the staff at this venue thank you for your hospitality and great service. I would definitely recommend going here as to two meal options ale-cart menu or degustation.

Firstly, I just want to say that Brendon was absolutely amazing, as were all of the staff! The service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. Our water and wine glasses were never empty, which is something that’s so rare to find these days. The food was incredible, from the olives we were greeted with on arrival, to the beautiful gnocchi, and finally the steak cooked and salted to absolute perfection. Everything was flawless from start to finish, and I honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend 🤗

We booked eremo for our anniversary, it was sublime. Closest to real Italian food compared to many other restaurants (I’m Italian 🇮🇹), gorgeous atmosphere, we got a complimentary glass of beautiful sparkling and “happy anniversary” written on our dessert. Portions were big! Super full! We totally recommend it.

We ordered two mains and two sides. We didn't order much because we weren't very hungry. The waitress gave us an attitude, which made me pretty uncomfortable. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin our holiday. When the dishes came, they were very small portions, and they were way too SALTY. The price is high, and getting this kind of service for the price is disappointing. Overall, the service and dishes were so bad. If I could, I would definitely mark 0 stars.

We chose to get the Avido package and we were not disappointed. Each dish was so nice, we really enjoyed the octopus and the gnocchi was a real treat . The beef cheeks were so soft and we just got a side of greens. Our waiter was Brendon and he was friendly and professional. You wont be disappointed with this dining experience.

It is our family’s first trip to Sydney and we were fortunate to choose éRemo for our first dinner in Hunter Valley. They have a fairly diverse bambini menu and all three kids enjoyed their choices - carbonara, fish&chips and Margherita pizza. The adults shared scallops and crispy potatoes for appetisers, gnocchi, grilled market fish and squid ink spaghetti for our mains which were all delicious as well! Service was prompt and attentive. With 2 glasses of Tyrrell’s wine the bill was $314. Would definitely recommend visitors to Hunter Valley to give this place a try!

Amazing lunch at eRemo with friends from Ireland. It was a cold winters day and the restaurant had their gorgeous fireplaces roaring. We had a table by the window with wonderful views and fantastic food. Between us we had a platter for 2, beef burger and pizza, all were amazing, especially the platter. Love the Lief products you use in the bathrooms. We will be back.

I try to reserve leaving reviews for places that truly deserve it, for excellent or terrible reasons only. Tonight’s service by the lovely staff at Goldfish (specifically Bella and David) were second to none and above and beyond. I chose this venue for my best mates 26th birthday due to living locally and often seeing the turn out of people filling the restaurants and I understand why now. From the moment we walked up to the doors to be seated, to the moment of paying the bill, it was a truly wonderful experience and will have us happily coming back. The food was absolutely delicious and did not miss on any level leaving us full and content. Bella’s service was the highlight of the night paired with David’s understanding and recommendation of drinks resulted in us happily spending more time and money at this venue. I truly hope the atmosphere is filled with as much energy for every customer with every staff member as it was tonight. (I highly suggest the lamb shoulder for 2 as well as the colouring in… oh and be sure to ask for the “Blue Balls” you will NOT be disappointed)

We had our wedding reception at goldfish and yesterday returned for our 1 year anniversary. The service was amazing and our anniversary was celebrated! Our waiter was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious (particularly the cheesecake!). We will return again :)

Went for dinner tonight for a mates birthday and it was amazing. Great service is an understatement, David and Bella made the experience so much better than just going to any regular restaurant. Food was extremely yummy and filling. Would definitely recommend the halloween drink to try🫐

Took my mum here for her 70th. The staff were really lovely and made her feel very special. They surprised her with cake without being asked, it was really lovely gesture. Food and wine was lovely. Good value for money as portion sizes were quite large.

With Freddie Mercury looks, and having lived and worked in Florence, the chef at Mill restaurant should be very proud of himself. His degustation menu washed down with paired hunter valley wines, and great service from start to finish was an experience we will be returning for. Great job guys!

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary dinner at The Mill. 5 years ago we attempted to have our 20th anniversary dinner at The Mill but unfortunately i got sick and left my husband eating on his own. Fast forward to tonight we finally got to celebrate. Chris made us feel welcome and made sure we were taken care of. From the Scarpetta to Bistecca al Pepe Verde to the Chocolate Budino dessert, was amazing. Thank you Chris and the team for making our 25th Wedding anniversary special. I like the additional touch on our dessert plate from the Chef! We will be back!

We had read about this restaurant from the good food guide, but like the accolades on the restaurant wall, it seems like they were referring to 2016 when this restaurant won awards. We had 1:1 service as we were the only table, but in a fine dining/intimate setting, it was a little bit awkward. The menu was a little bit drab, and not everything on the plate complemented, which was a bit disappointing. Also, considering the competition and the locale of restaurant, I would have wanted to have seen where the produce was coming from. There was no real mention within the menu. Our party of five started with the charred octopus, wood fired prawns and pan seared scallops. The scallops were overpowered by the garnish and the butter seemed distant from the scallops. My main of beef ribs was disappointing as the kasundi seemed to play no part in the dish. Wherever I tried to pair it, it just didn't fit in. The portion size was also disappointing and a bone in rib may create a bit more theatre to the dish. Desserts were nothing to really comment on as overall they were also disappointing. The price was fair: 75 for 2 courses and 85 for 3, but there must be a reason why the restaurant sat empty on a Friday night.

We came here for a birthday diner and what an evening we had. The 5 course meal was absolutely incredible, and the wine paired with each dish was beautiful. The service was excellent, both our waiter and the chef are passionate about what they do and they took the time to share it with us. We highly recommend this place !

Absolutely loved our dinner at The Mill. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with just the right mix of relaxed and stylish. The staff were super friendly and really made us feel looked after without being pushy. The highlight for me was definitely the Ragu — rich, slow-cooked, and full of flavour. The pasta was fresh and soaked up the sauce perfectly. Honestly one of the best I’ve had in ages, it’s the kind of dish you’re still thinking about the next day. Everything else we tried was spot-on too, from the smaller plates through to dessert. You can tell the team here cares about quality and detail. Can’t wait to come back — highly recommend!

How shall I describe The Mill? Almost great. While the menu and food look impressive, most dishes fall down in the flavour department. The restaurant location is excellent on a ridge overlooking beautiful vineyards. The building style is relaxed with plenty of windows to enjoy the view. The menu promises much and almost delivers. Visually each dish looks the part, but when you take a bite the flavour is simply not there which is disappointing given the expectation. The amouse bouche of a fried Moroccan cauliflower florette had no flavour of any kind. Not sure what was Morrocan about it. My lobster tail crepe was dry with no sauce to highlight the flavour of the lobster. The Chicken main course was ok but not sure why it had wasabi peas scattered over it as they added nothing to the dish. The Lamb with crushed peas was excellent though. Finally the chocolate fondant dessert was too rich and gritty from what I thought was ground coconut, leaving an unpleasant taste in the mouth. I just wished the head chef would sit and eat a complete meal to really understand what is missing from these dishes rather than I assume just tasting different elements. It wouldn't take much to make this food brilliant.

Service was fantastic and servers were super friendly and helpful. Food took a while to come out and was okay. Did find a small hair in our chicken wing dish which was a tad disappointing. Menu states woodfire pizza but it did not taste like woodfire pizza. Food was overall not the highlight. But credit to the servers and beautiful location.

Beef cheeks with polenta, rosemary salted chips and chicken wings. All in all, pretty good. The beef cheeks needed more salt but the chips saved them. Chips themselves were crunchy, hot and tasty although could maybe have gone even more crunchy. Loved the chicken wings. A good dry rub and really moist, tasty chicken with a decent pineapple salsa. Finished off taking a couple of scoops of their movenpick ice-cream back. Not the cheapest place but not too bad. Stand-out though tonight was the service. We were told when we came in to expect a delay as they were short staffed due to holidays. The food came almost exactly when they said and the service throughout the evening was was warm, friendly, helpful and courteous.

Such a shame that this place isn’t busy. Great views and plenty of potential. But the atmosphere is very dull. The food was very nice and the staff are also very friendly. But it needs a major overhaul to give it some life!

We had a fabulous lunch on Thursday, our food was amazing we hadthe BBQ prawns, the burrata & tomatoes, the pumpkin and the cauliflower. The 2 of kind shiraz and the lemon curd dessert. Highly recommended.

Ordered a brisket and lamb ragu, no meat in it. Also saw another table send their food back. Slow service and poor atmosphere. The staff knew also, giving us a free round to make up fit the poor cuisine.

I've previously been an organic farmer and grower, and always tried to source good but reasonably priced organic wines, and I recently came across Tamburlaine. My experience has been a very positive one, as they offer range of affordable wines of great quality and availability. My partner and I have enjoyed our mixed bundles, doing our own tastings here in Tasmania as the mainland is a long way away! And we've had free delivery! The Reserve Syrah 2023 is especially smooth and deliciousl. Very happy customers!

Beautiful spot for a tasting of some very nice wine! Tamburlaine is must do stop on the vineyard trail. Their wines really do cater for everyone's tastes and they have the bonus of being very reasonably priced. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and the tasting room has a great vibe. Our wine taster Seth was very knowledgeable about the wines and gave us a great tasting experience. We ended up purchasing a dozen,joined the wine club and also grabbed some of their gin! One stop cellar door you don't want to miss

This was our favourite winery of our little Hunter Valley tour. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere on a rainy winters day. We loved all the wines… and the fact they sell them in backpacker friendly flat pack bottles! Our host was really informative and we had a great chat with her while we tasted the wines. Lovely!

A wonderful and unexpected highlight of our trip. We popped in for a tasting and were hosted by Adrian, whose knowledge of the wines, engaging storytelling, and great sense of humour created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Have never tried their wines, and fell in love immediately, we never felt rushed, and each pour came paired with insights that deepened our appreciation. We had hoped to return today to try the gin, but other plans got in the way. Safe to say we’ll absolutely be back.

Marcus was a wonderful host for our wine tasting! Highly recommend, he was friendly and informative - adaptive to our group and paved way for an amazing day. So appreciative to his hospitality!

We enjoyed our tasting at Tambourlaine (and bonus points for it being the only free tasting in the Hunter Valley!) - the Pinot Gris and GSM were particular favourites of ours. One thing to note is although the website states that bookings are not required for less than 5 people, we were unable to do the vegan cheese tasting as a walk in (which was a shame as we had planned our day around this), so recommend booking ahead for any cheese tastings.

We just finished the wine tasting experience with Seth and it was amazing. He was an amazing charismatic tour guide in this pallet journey. He explained differences between wines and was very knowledgeable. Thank you for this amazing experience Seth! Would 100% recommend

Exceptional. Had a fantastic time at Hungerford on our trip away to the Hunter Valley (drank way too much delicious wine). The service was top notch and Sophie in particular was super friendly and made sure we all had a great time. We will definitely be back!!

While food & wine pairings are entirely personal, I can objectively say that the portion sizes here are shockingly small. Especially for a $60 tasting. There was barely enough to contemplate if the food was actually compatible with the glass it had been paired with. We found better value and better quality tastings for $15 (without food) at most other reputable venues in The Hunter. Everyone in our group found the pairings here to be a little chaotic, sometimes even completely unsuitable, except for the sausage roll & Shiraz combo. And once inside the cellar door we were disappointed by how flat the decor felt, in contrast to the striking architecture of the building’s exterior. We chose Hungerford’s $60 “Epic” tasting over Brokenwood’s $75 “Match Experience” because Hungerford appeared online to be better value than Brokenwood. This was not the case. Each tiny dish was essentially just a little re-heat bite. So unfortunately we didn’t think there was anything “Epic” about this tasting.

Visited Hungerford Hill for the paired wine tasting. This was the best experience we had over the weekend. Our host was super friendly and knowledgeable. The wines and food were amazing. Loved that we could follow the recommendations or mix and match to experiment.

We visited Hungerford Hill when on our wine tour with Wine D Roads & it was the first winery of the day. A great start & over all our favourite winery we visited that day. We were hosted by Taylor, she was a fantastic host. She was upbeat, funny, friendly & extremely knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend visiting Hungerford Hill on your visit to Hunter Valley. We will definitely revisit.

Mount Pleasant is an absolutely stunning winery and should be right at the top of your list when visiting the Hunter Valley! My husband and I booked a morning wine tasting and were warmly welcomed by the lovely Maddie, who was so friendly and bubbly from the start! 😊 We were captivated by the rich history of the winery and the way Maddie brought the stories of the vineyards and Mount Pleasant’s heritage to life. Her incredible knowledge and beautiful descriptions of the wines and winemaking process made the experience unforgettable. What surprised me most was that, as someone who usually doesn’t enjoy red wine, I actually loved every single red we tasted that day. I felt completely converted! If we hadn’t had another tasting booked right after, I would have happily stayed longer to enjoy the wines and take a few bottles home. We’ll absolutely be back! This winery is breathtaking, and I truly fell in love with it. A huge thank you to Maddie for her 5-star service; she was phenomenal and deserves the highest praise. P.S. Had a wonderful wine tasting experience and was even able to taste and buy wine from our wedding (20 years ago)! Meant the granddaughter of its maker and shared in a bottle of the vintage. Was absolutely amazing and a humble experience that was unplanned for our 20th anniversary.

We had the best time at Mount Pleasant Winery thanks to G, the hilarious Colombian legend! From the moment we walked in, he had us laughing and he made us feel extremely welcome by remembering all our names. He made the wine tasting fun, personal, and unforgettable. I had the pleasure of an exquisite member tasting with Mel. What an experience… Her knowledge and passion for wine made this one of the best wine tastings in my living memory. I would highly recommend this fabulous winery and the impeccable wines. Cheers to Adrian and the crew also… My only disappointment is that I was restricted to only 5 stars.

One of the worst experiences I had. No one tells you it’s a self service venue and you are just looking around calling the waiters when they don’t bother to come at all. Secondly the food wait time was much longer than the usual 20 minutes. The steak we ordered was cold as ice. It felt like it was made hours ago and just left there to cool down and then serve us. Didn’t want to mention this but after all the worst experience, I felt the place was a bit racist. I saw with my own eyes their waiters going to serve other people with a smile and when I asked for a steak cutting knife, the waitress gave me an eye roll as she had to go to the kitchen to get it. If it was on the table where they put all the other cutlery, I would have gotten it myself and not ask her. It was such a bad experience as we were in the hunter valley for first time and I didn’t know that such big and famous place would be a disaster. I felt so bad after all this that when they served me cold steak, i didn’t even have the heart to complain due to their rude behavior. Hope you learn something and not do this with others.

Loved the cocktails here. $12 cocktails on Friday night was a hit. Food was ok this time round however for the price it is crazy! Ordered a pasta and it was $42 😖😖😖 The vibe was great for Friday night but very busy. Music good but very loud.

The atmosphere is great, foods are fantastic! I think it’s the best foods that I had, compare to any bar & restaurant so far. We would definitely come back and I’ll bring my fam & friends come with. The taste are so sooo tasty & the steak cooked perfectly! Definitely recommended 👍

We stayed nearby so ate here a few times last week. It’s a cosy pub with a bistro upstairs and a sports bar downstairs. The food is excellent pub classics downstairs like ribs, steaks, parmies - all good! Live music on weekends and a pretty outdoor area with lots of garland lights. Upstairs was closer to fine dining in the meals but not the service. The service is very self serve- had to pick up meals from the servery which I found a bit weird in a bistro with such good food. Otherwise good.

I had lunch with my mum and my two kids. Shortly after the meal, I started having a stomach ache and had to rush to the bathroom. I thought it was just me, but my son and mum also got stomach aches and diarrhea. Only my daughter was fine because she didn’t eat the chicken burger. When I got home, I had another bout of diarrhea. The place and environment were nice though.

Had the Tuesday pasta special, penne pork sausage, awesome value. Nice place, a few fire places, awesome happy hour. 4 - 6 = $5 beers and wines

Today it my first time with this restaurant. I ordered steak 1.2 kg is the price 210$. The service is good but the chef is take too long to cook. It take like 50 minutes for that steak. When the steak coming is 30per cent raw . I am very disappointed for that . I won’t be come back again this this restaurant. I would not recommend for everyone come this restaurant again.

We had a very enjoyable buffet breakfast with plenty of food and drink options to choose from. I had accidentally made the wrong booking, but the restaurant staff were incredibly accommodating and happily catered to our large group without any hesitation. I’ve been here several times before, and each visit has been consistently excellent. The customer service is always top-notch, and the food never disappoints. Highly recommended!

We decided to get the five course degustation, it was selections from the a la carte menu, with matching wines. All the courses were great, with the prawn being a standout in my mind. As it was our wedding anniversary we got a nice extra dessert. The service was friendly and helpful, the wines were all good. Can’t complain, and a reasonable price for what we got!

Lovely Australian cuisine with standout desserts. The set menu allows you to choose between 2, 3 course or the degustation menu. We ordered the pork belly, lamb and the salmon. All pretty good. Our desserts were divine - highly recommend if you’re a sweet tooth.

I am actually blown away with how lovely the food was, I was a little nervous about coming here due to the mixed reviews that I have seen but this place definitely exceeded my expectations! We were served by Kirsty who was amazing, I hope this message gets to her manager, Kirsty was very attentive and on the ball, always checking in to ensure that we were happy with our meals and had everything we needed. One of the best buffet breakfast I've had. Good value - Barista made coffee and eggs to order (including eggs Benedict). We arrived close to closing but the service team were accepting and accommodating. Juices, bread and pastries were also still fresh and well stocked.

We had dinner at the wood restaurant last night and it was unbelievable. Originally we wanted to try the lamb which was sold out. So we opted for the T-bone steak instead with potatoes, salad and broccoli. We also got the mushrooms with black aioli to start. All of this was delicious and the best meal we’ve had in ages! Highly recommend for any occasion.

My partner and I dined at the official opening of the newly renovated restaurant. We were served by the lovely Anastasia who was incredibly hospitable and friendly.. The food was outstanding and I highly recommend the Mother Fungus and Duck Skewers. Packed full of flavour and cooked to perfection. All this coupled with the fantastic Brokenwood wines made this visit truly memorable. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was absolutely delicious!! Husband is a steak aficionados and he was blown away. Had the dry aged rib eye (omg!!!), the oak leaf salad and kipfler potatoes. Wonderful setting too watching the chefs in the open kitchen. Wanted to come back tomorrow but they aren't open on a Wednesday!

Our car club organised lunch there for about 30 people with 4 courses. Each course had about 2 dishes served tapas style between every 4 people to share. The food was delicious, plentiful and a great variety of cuisines to sample. Nobody left hungry and everyone was happy with the food. The service was excellent, even with 30 people in our group. I would go back there again for lunch.

Nice environment and very good service. The food service was fast. We ordered four-course menu and a bottle of sparkling wine. The food quality was fine but we weren’t really impressed by the combination of the food. The quail was a bit burnt on the outside so we could taste some bitterness . And the main course portion was a bit small. Comparing to other restaurants in nearby area, 4-course menu under $100 pp is quite good deal. Given that the nice vibe and great service, we would like to revisit later when they have a new menu.

Today we had the most fabulous lunch at the newly renovated Wood Restaurant @ Brokenwood Wines. The Feed Me Menu at $120.00 was our choice and chef Sean and his teams attention to detail was evident in every dish. It was hard to pick the best but my wife and I agreed that the wood fired ribeye just won. The QLD prawns with prawn head sauce was stunning so definitely ask for extra sauce and bread, you will not stop until every bit of sauce is gone. The potato gnocchi was just as good. So if you are looking for a great lunch you must try The Wood. By the way the wines are very good as well.

We had a surprisingly lovely meal at The Wood restaurant on a whim last Sunday. We showed up with no booking and they easily seated my family, made up of two adults and four kids. The kids were no issue at all for the staff and despite initial skepticism from the kids regarding the slighted more elevated kids menu (gasp, no chicken and chips!), all my kids surprised themselves and me with how much they enjoyed the food. My husband and I had the Feed Me menu which was fantastic value at $95 a head - with seven or so courses it felt like a much fancier degustation and we ending up taking home half of our main, definitely not short on food. It felt like this option could be adjusted slightly to taste as well so make sure to consider it! All in all, a lovely Sunday out, thank you.

Now get ready for a delicious encounter at The Blaxland Inn. The steaks are cooked to perfection yet the menu has other delights. We tried the brisket and chicken on our recent visit. We were consumed by the flavours and taste - fabulous! The service is amazing too! You can be guaranteed a warm welcome and a friendly smile with every course. Wine, cocktail and beer offerings too are exceptional with Lord Nelson 3 Sheets (can you resist a pint?) and other craft beers on tap. Great ambiance in a sandstone dining room completes the experience. Don’t drive past this very special place.

The food was cooked so perfectly and with unique flair... Loved the service also... Nothing was too hard. My favourites were the Lemon Lime and Bitters (perfectly made), the corn bread (with an amazing butter), the Warm Potato Salad, and the Choc Chip Skilllet Cookie (I ordered mine without the ice cream... Still awesome) ... All of those deserve an extra mention because they were next level. Thank you 😊 (I didn't stay overnight, so no rating provided for the rooms)

We had a dinner booking at Blaxland Inn for my mother’s birthday whilst up at the Hunter for the weekend. We all enjoyed our experience. The cocktails were fantastic, delicious food and very special birthday dessert with a sparkler for mum. The restaurant was busy and our table took a fair amount of time to decide on what to order, but our waitress was extremely patient and helpful in giving us suggestions. She was very charming and had an infectious fun attitude too! My only negative feedback would be that the creamy mash with my steak was awfully salty!! A few of us felt the same actually. Otherwise amazing and will definitely be back. 👏👏

Absolutely blown away. We booked here last minute on our trip to the hunter valley. We walked in and were greeted by 3 or 4 friendly staff on the way to our table which was already set out with high chair, kid friendly cups and colouring in books for our kids. The staff immediately came and asked for drinks orders and if we wanted to get the kids food underway (if you’re a parent you know how important this is). Once that was done they came back and delivered the drinks and not long after the kids food arrived. It is abundantly clear that this team at blaxland are cohesive and well run. All food and drinks were timed impeccably and the kids were never for want while the team brought our entrees out. My wife and I split the scallops and also the taco special which were a knock out and I’d highly recommend. We dined on Wednesday which was $30 sirloin night. Back home in Brisbane if you got a $30 sirloin you’d expect it to not be cooked to order and not of good quality with average sides. This steak was cooked to perfection, a fantastic cut of meat. The unique sauces (cowboy butter and hot honey ranch) they provide also really upped the game setting this steak house head and shoulders above anything I’d experienced in years. As someone who travels frequently and dines out a lot I believe Blaxland is arguably one of the best run establishments in Australia. The staff are incredible and the chefs are clearly exceptional. Please do yourself a favour and stop in here if you want a great dining experience. We will be back!

We choose dinner at Blaxland Inn primarily because they offered a courtesy bus, what a great choice we made. Organising a table and pickup was so easy (thank you Charlotte, who also recommended the Friday feast - something never to be forgotten - just out of this world). On arrival at Blaxland ordering our drinks was such fun thanks to the amazing barman. Our table was large and had one of the best locations in the restaurant complimented by our waiter Al (from Birmingham) who ensured we were so well taken care of - nothing was too much trouble for him. The whole evening ended a high note with Kim taking us home and ensuring that we never stopped laughing. I do not normally comment on a dinning experience but really wanted to say "Thank you all guys" for making our dinning experience such a memorable evening. Jacqueline Dircks

Great family friendly venue. This steakhouse had a nice ambience, is spacious for those of us who need wheels and had plenty of menu options which were gluten free. We visited on a busy Saturday and staff handled the crowds very well. There was a forty five minute wait for mains which given the busyness was not unreasonable but we wished we had ordered a few starters. Drinks were served quickly. A most enjoyable experience.

Came here for steaks and it was delicious! Service was great too. A little disappointed on the pork belly entree, was just expecting a stickier, scripted dish but the flavor was still good

We had an Easter long weekend family dinner here. First off, the hospitality was amazing, accommodating for us to have a wonderful window table as it was our parent's anniversary dinner. The view as the sun set was beautiful and the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The restaurant also had high ceilings and a sleek, modern interior that was bright and inviting. The food, an absolute delight from start to finish. The toasty warm bread and crackers with relish to start were moreish. We had scallop and the pork as entrees, and beef and duck breast for mains. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were delicious. The chocolate and pavlova desserts were just melt in your mouth goodness. Parents had the cheese platters which were fabulous and generously portioned. Already dreaming about going back next time we're at Hunter again.

This has got to be my favourite restaurant for the Hunter region. My husband and i celebrated our birthdays with a weekend away. Hunters Quarter was a must as Cockfighers Ghost is our favourite Chardonnay, with memories going back 25 years 😳 We sat on the deck on a cool Autumnal evening, the views really are beautiful. The food is amazing, every dish delicately put together like a work of art. The flavours in each of our dishes were delicious. The service impeccable but also friendly, knowledgeable on the menus . This was a very special evening made so much more special with the standard of food and service. We dined on the Saturday at at another highly rated restaurant which was great but HQ nailed it. We'll be back for sure. 🙏🏼

We ordered the $150 degustation menu with wagyu upgrade for $20 extra. Food was well presented but tasted poor, main dish was very salty, steak was tough for a medium rare wagyu steak. Most of our group only ate half of each course because of how salty things were. We found the combination of food did not complement each other at all. We all enjoyed the cappacio and dessert. Service was not great either, no one asked us if food was alright, especially when a few of us left courses half eaten. Overall not a great experience, but the atmosphere was good, and food was presently nicely.

We have been here twice now. Speechless. All I can say is wow. Wow. I now have a new favourite restaurant in the hunter! Every single thing about this restaurant is amazing. The food is memorable and leaves you wanting more. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and music taste 👌🏼 perfect.

This restaurant is jaw-dropping in every sense. The food was amazing, absolutely no faults. Anything you order off the menu is guaranteed to be delicious. I had a chicken dish which was beautiful. The cocktails are also fabulous. The service was impeccable, we had the most lovely waiter who was attentive, friendly and accommodating. The setting was honestly the most beautiful backdrop for a restaurant I have ever experienced. Overlooking a huge vineyard and pond, you can see kangaroos, bunnies, ducks and other wildlife. It was perfect. 11/10.

Our 4th time coming back to Hunters Quarters and it is always such an amazing experience. The food is delicious and staff are great. They have a wide range of wines that work well with a lot of dishes.

Before lunch, we had a sit down wine tasting in the Pooles Rock cellar door, a very informative & pleasant wine tasting which was enjoyable - ended up buying six of their wines. Then spent a very relaxing long lunch next door at Hunters Quarter, sat outside in the beautiful weather & enjoyed the scenic vista - a peaceful, relaxing spot. Restaurant has ample indoor & outdoor seating, a warm ambience & feels very welcoming. Started with complimentary seaweed crisps, salmon dip, freshly baked bread, olive oil etc. Bounced into a couple of super nice mains via the fish of the day (John Dory) with smoked potato & charred leek - this was light, full of flavour & really nice. Other shared main was Jerusalem artichoke ravioli with smoked peas & swiss chard - a beautifully put together dish. Rounded out with duck fat potatoes - can't go wrong here! Finished off with the cheese plate & chocolate slice/cake. Both dishes were enjoyed & were a quality way to finish off lunch. Service was on point from start to finish, cannot fault the pace, friendliness, menu/food knowledge & their very attentive level of looking after us.

What a fantastic place! The food at Oishii was super delicious—every bite was a delight. And I have to say, their moscato is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area!

The food was absolutely delicious! Grass fed beef sizzle plate was my all time favourite. Kind friendly attentive service, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area, unfortunately no heating for the cooler nights but still beautiful with all the lights, and a nice full of life inside seating area, that can get loud once full. Overall the food in Australia is very good. It is heavy with proteins like Wagu and lamb etc. so finding a rare Asian restaurant in hunter valley was a nice change. The location was easy as signage was easy to recognize. The interior was very minimalist and clean. The stag was attentive and food was better than average. The highlight was the whole fried fish and should be tried. They also had a variety of desserts. The prices were fair and we were more than satisfied.

Foods are ok with great outside view. However staff services are horrible with bad attitude, feels like I need to please them for any extra need other then order and deliver your food. During the order, she was rushing and wasn't happy for a simple order change. Ask for medium rare and medium beed and gave us the wrong order. Will not return for sure.

Our dinner was lovely, we enjoyed all our entrees and the mains were incredible full of flavour and great portions to share. The service was great.

The food was so good we went back the next day! Beef tappanyaki was OUTSTANDING! We also loved the seafood fried rice and different curries that we ordered. Service and location were also great. Right beside Tempus Teo with ample parking and nice atmosphere. Keep up the great work.

An unforgettable wine-tasting experience! The host was incredibly welcoming, and the view was absolutely stunning. It’s a small, humble spot with exceptional wines—we loved them so much we bought 21 bottles home to share with family and friends in Singapore.

Lewis is a fantastic host! He and Mike took great care of us. The wines were excellent, it was hard to decide which take home (but we managed). The cheeseboard pairing was a great addition to our wine experience. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and would make a wonderful location for a special event. Overall, Ivanhoe is an outstanding stop to make during a Hunter Valley wine tour!

My wife and I are really recommend this winery in Hunter valley. Staff is so kind and can see great view while you're do tasting at balcony. Also the wine they produce is delicious, beautiful.

I hated my experience at Hope Estate this week. We dropped in for a beer tasting and it was the worst tasting paddle I've ever had at any brewery, ever. I'm not exaggerating either, I tried 4 beers and couldn't finish any of them so left we left pretty disappointed. My four beers were: Pineapple Sour Blood Orange NEIPA Chocolate Milk Porter Extra Stout The pineapple sour was top 3 of the worst things that ive ever tasted, waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too sweet, sickly sweet and sour but in a nasty way. I've tried dozens of amazing sour beers from the best like wildflower and others and this one tasted like the first attempt by a homebrewer who didn't have a clue what they were doing 0.2/10 The blood orange NEIPA was awful as well and undrinkable, it had a weird taste and tasted nothing like blood orange. If you've ever had Daintons blood orange NEIPA you will be deeply dissapointed here 1/10. The choc milk stout was gross and tasted like literal chocolate milk had been mixed with beer 1/10. And lastly the extra stout which was barrel aged was smoky, I didn't realise it was smoky when I ordered it and didn't see smoke mentioned in the description. I don't totally hate smoked beers but this one was bad, it smelled like an old nasty camp fire and left an after-taste like I'd been drinking liquid ash, yuk 0.3/10. I even tried mixing the pineapple sour with the NEIPA but it just ruined both even more. We definitely won't ever be going back here as to be brutally honest, if you can make even half decent drinkable beers after being in business for several years than it's obvious you either don't know what your doing, or you can't divorce the gimmicky spirit distilling side from your brewery and therefore can't just make simple enjoyable beers so with that I'd say this place isn't even a real brewery but a gimmicky gin/vodka/passion pop producer masquerading as one to try and please the "blokes"

Any incredible venue with excellent variety for wines, craft beers and spirits. Gary had bags of personality and was most excellent for the wine tasting - very passionate and informative. Highly recommend.

Great tastings. We did a beer tasting and a wine tasting. The lady who completed the wine tasting was very knowledgeable and professional. The venue was beautiful. There were kangaroos around.

As frequent visitors of Hope Estate, we usually enjoy our time here—the staff are consistently friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Most of the time, the drinks are spot on, but occasionally they can be a bit hit or miss. On our latest visit, the garnish on my drink looked pretty sad, which was a bit disappointing considering the usual standard. Still, it won’t stop us from coming back, but a little more consistency would go a long way.

He made us feel completely relaxed and comfortable throughout the tasting, answering all our questions and sharing great insights about each wine. Highly recommend visiting!

We were a group of 7 people and we did the full wine tasting. Totally fine, great wine but the service was not hospitable. We were served by Clint and while we understand it was quite busy, he would just pour the wines, briefly explain and leave quickly. If we tried to ask questions, his answers were short or he would leave in the middle of us asking it. We’ve been to other wineries before where the sommelier would actually take the time to talk to us even if it was brief to get to others but we just felt the service here was cold. Great wines, great location, server was so-so.

Fantastic wines, we have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Best of all, dog friendly. A must try whilst in the Hunter.

First time at Piggs Peake this week - and absolutely loved it! Amazing location with beautiful garden and veggie patches to explore. Tasting experience was great and picked up some bargains to bring home. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but wished we did - looked incredible!

We’ve visited Piggs Peake around six times over the past eight years and have loved every previous experience, which is why we were a little disappointed with our most recent visit. The staff were polite and welcoming and we really appreciated that they brought out some wines not on the main tasting list, including ones we had loved previously and wanted to buy again. We still ended up purchasing six bottles, so the quality of the wines remains excellent. However, the whole tasting felt very rushed. We had set aside an hour to enjoy the experience, but it ended up being around 15 minutes. The staff waited at our side so the next glass could be poured immediately after we finished each one, which made it feel more like a conveyor belt than a relaxed tasting. We were the only guests there and it was mid-week, so we would have preferred a more laid-back atmosphere where we could linger and enjoy the wines at our own pace. At this stage, based on the atmosphere of our recent visit, we don’t think we will be returning, which is really disappointing given how much we’ve enjoyed Piggs Peake in the past.

An exceptional winery to visit. Unfortunately the only photo I have is of the 2025 wine tasting menu. The walk around the grounds to spread out the easter crowd was fantastic. We drank over 20 different wines and spent a little over 3 hours there. Steve the winemaker was absolutely generous with his time and selection wines to taste. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting the hunter valley region to visit!

We had such a wonderful time at the winery! I brought my younger sister visiting from Korea, and she absolutely loved it too. The wine was excellent, and Gerald was so kind and explained everything so well. Honestly, we weren’t planning to buy more since we had already purchased quite a bit elsewhere and just wanted to do the tasting, but we ended up taking home three bottles ^^ We were more than satisfied and will definitely bring our guests here again. The ambience of the restaurant was great, surrounded by a beautiful winery. We are on holiday from overseas, and after tasting the food and the wine, we had no regrets booking this place for dinner. Highly recommended if you are coming to Hunter Valley for a weekend getaway.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Twine. The food was full of flavour, fresh and plentiful. I rate the value as very good for what we ordered. The menu has a good variety of dishes to suit most tastes. I would dine there again.

My husband and I dined here for my birthday. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was outstanding, they were there when you needed them and didn't hover over you. All in all as a 1st time diner I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was very surprised with how good this restaurant is. From great valley views to very helpful and friendly staff and is also dog friendly. The food, however was the highlight. Everything was balanced really well and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend and will be back again and again to try all.

What a lovely place for lunch in the vineyards! We went there last week to celebrate my birthday. The meals were delicious, the service great and the view relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish, and paired with a Hunter semillion, it was fabulous.

We had our wedding and reception at Twine Restaurant, and it was nothing short of magical. From the very beginning, Meg and Dan were incredible—supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. Their help in the lead-up and on the day itself was invaluable. The venue is absolutely stunning. The wedding garden provided the most picturesque backdrop for our ceremony, and the atmosphere of Twine—elegant yet eye-catching—was one of the main reasons we chose it. Right after the ceremony, the canapés were served (and they were absolutely incredible), with drinks ready to go as part of the package. The service staff were phenomenal—not just with us, but with all our guests. We had so many people comment on how amazing the staff were, even weeks and months after the wedding. A special shoutout to how beautifully they cared for our grandparents—it meant the world to us. The food during the reception? To die for. Everyone raved about it! We also opted for the drinks package, but the cocktails from the bar were such a hit that guests kept going back for more. The quality and selection were top-notch. We loved Twine so much that we returned for our first anniversary—and the staff remembered us! They came over to chat, asked how life was going, and made us feel truly special all over again. And yes, the food was still just as amazing! We honestly can’t recommend Twine highly enough. If you’re looking for a wedding venue or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Twine is 100% the place to book. They made our day unforgettable. And again - thank you so much to Dan, Meg and the Twine staff - you can’t put a price on the quality of service we received.

Highly recommend this $10 wine tasting — such a great bargain! The wines were surprisingly good, and the customer service was excellent. Olivia looked after us — she was kind, professional, and made the experience even better. She introduced us to some lovely wines that exceeded our expectations. Would definitely come back!

Just had fabulous tasting at Tempus Two. Huge range of varieties, gotta go back to try some more, but the cases I’m taking home will do for now. Our host Heather was delightful and well informed. Great experience!

I am extremely disappointed with my wine tasting experience today. The server was completely unprofessional—she simply handed me a wine list without any introduction or guidance and expected me to choose on my own from the $10 for six bottles option. How was I supposed to make a decision without assistance? When I asked if she had any recommendations or more unique wines to suggest, she just told me to upgrade my tasting package. Her attitude was dismissive and uninterested throughout. To make matters worse, one of the red wines we tried was clearly just opened and hadn’t been aerated at all—it was bitter and astringent. It was obvious that the server had very limited knowledge about the wines, as she couldn’t answer basic questions. Overall, a frustrating and unsatisfying visit.

We had the pleasure of being looked after by Jacob last Sunday to do our wine tasting. He was brilliant! He introduced us to different wine options based on the answers we would give him on his targeting questions. He tailored made the experience for us, rather than saying its these 6 and that's it! We had the best afternoon there and a real introduction to the Hunter Valley wine region as we were visiting from WA. This is a must stop for any traveler to the area and wants to learn more about the wines. Thank you again Jacob for your amazing knowledge and customer service, and a shout out to Courtney who was also lovely and very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips to visit to eat. 10 out of 10 guys!!

The lovely blonde lady who looked after us gave us a try and sold us with the Choc Coffee cream which was amazing and gave the story how it was made from wine. The lovely lady's name was Heather.

It did take a little while for us to be acknowledged and served (especially as it was fairly quiet at the time), but once we were, the women were absolutely lovely! We had a great tasting, they were so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience really enjoyable. Also, please bring back the Dolce Rosa! It’s my absolute favourite and one of the main reasons we visit the Hunter 🤩 such a beautiful wine!!

We did a tasting with Courtney and she was incredible! My wife is currently 31 weeks pregnant and she was more than accomodating providing her with a non alcoholic tasting whilst I was able to enjoy an amazing and educated wine tasting! Atmosphere, wines, generosity..incredible! My sis was visiting from Ireland and it was her first time wine tasting and Luke went above and beyond to give us the best experience…tasting so many wines, explaining everything without making you feel like an amateur when asking any questions! We loved the Cab Sav (2019) $55 which we will age for a few more years and try again next time my sister visits! The sparkling was yummy (the first pour we tried was a tad flat so they even opened a new bottle for us to try…love that). This will also age well over a few years and was as good as any from that ‘named region in France!’! The muscat was also awesome and in such a funky bottle…I got one for my father in law…Xmas sorted! We only did 1 or 2 wineries in Hunter as were short on time and I could not have asked for a better experience and memory for my sis and I! Luke you are a legend and honestly made her holiday so memorable. Thanking you from our hearts to yours x

Had an amazing wine tasting experience at Pepper Tree Wines! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. A huge thank you to Mick and Hayden for making the visit so enjoyable their knowledge of the wines and passion for what they do really shone through. They took the time to share insights about the wines, the vineyard, and the winemaking process, while keeping the conversation fun and engaging. Shout out to Mick and Hayden who also went above and beyond to Accomodate for my 2 children and made the visit that extra special. It felt more like chatting with friends than a formal tasting, and their hospitality made the whole experience stand out. Couldn’t recommend Pepper Tree Wines enough definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area! 🍷 If I was to make a small recommendation 2025 Limited Release 'Sticky Pig' Late Harvest Pinot Gris 😉

Peppertree Winery is absolutely picturesque, such a beautiful and charming spot in the Hunter Valley. The grounds are stunning and have such a peaceful, welcoming feel. Our wine tasting experience was made even better by Hayden, who was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the wines, and made the whole experience feel really personal and enjoyable. Every wine we tried was delicious, and Hayden’s recommendations were spot on. We left with smiles (and a few bottles!) We highly recommend visiting this gorgeous winery!

The most amazing wine experience! Stunning location with amazing views, ponds with fish jumping around and ducks/bird grazing between shrubs. This location has the friendliest puppies greet you and walk you to your table. Plenty of parking overlooking beautiful valleys, ponds and a massive garden with an assortment of flowers. I had the pleasure of spending my 21st birthday here and our host treated my family, friends and I to a tasting on the house and a beautiful moscato for the drive home! The whole experience was filled with so many laughs and wines tailored to all of our guests pallets. I could not recommend this property more if you could spare a moment of your time to visit this gentleman and try out a tasting. It really will be some of the best memories you can take home from the Hunter.

The best wine tasting I’ve been to. The lady running it was extremely knowledgeable, and told us about her experience producing wine, as well as sharing with us in -depth detail about the wine we were tasting and the history of the site. She was funny and engaging, and we ended up getting a free bottle of wine and tasting experience that reflects the brilliant nature of the Hanging Tree winery. The location is amazing, and there is outdoor activities for kids, tons of parking, and extremely friendly dogs. Personally, I don’t think it can get much better.

Had a wonderful tasting here last Sunday with an expansive selection of beautifully crafted wines. Loved the whole experience and became a member on the spot to unlock lots of savings too. Mike our host shared his knowledge generously and our guests from the UK came away immensely impressed. Warm, welcoming and unforgettable (even if you don't like wine you will love it here) and if you love dogs you will love it too - highly recommend! Visited for a wine tasting with my partner and friends. While I'm not usually a wine drinker, Ken, made me feel included by offering me a glass of Moscato which to my surprise, I really enjoyed and ended up buying a bottle home with me. He also went above and beyond to make the experience really special, was super funny, and made my friends feel comfortable even though they don't speak much English. Thankyou for an amazing experience, I will definitely come here again.

Had a fantastic experience at this winery! The boss was super friendly and generous in letting us try a range of sparkling wines, each one excellent. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it’s also a perfect spot for people with dogs. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area!

If you are looking somewhere to have breakfast in Pokolbin then this is the place to go. There are decent options on their menu and the proportion is good. They do eggs really well whether poached or scrambled. The only downside is the place gets really busy and food takes a while to come out. People who ordered takeaway got their food first before us who ordered first and opted to dine in.

We were a little apprehensive about coming given it only had two reviews at the time, but we were pleasantly surprised! Breakfast was just lovely. The hashbrowns and omelets were standouts for me! Outside on the deck was lovely, fabulous views back over some wineries. When we were here for breakfast it was a little warm outside, but the breeze through the deck area was just wonderful. Coffee was nice as well.

Overall 8/10. FAVS-food 9/10, ambience 6/10, value 6/10, Service 6/10. Coffee was a bit lacking in aroma, however, food really delivered in taste and portions are generous. Price is on the high side but the food matches expectations. Windy outside on a winters day

This place was absolutely delicious! We were first seated by a professional set of staff who ensured we were comfortable, although it was a chilly day, the way the restaurant is seated made it tolerable. Something I enjoyed was the ability to mix and change the menu to adjust to specific dietary needs and the openess and recommendations for those with dietary requirements. We did wait a while for our food, however, the food was fresh, detailed and the flavours were all thought out and complimentary of each other, regardless of changes to the initial menu items! I would highly recommend the fries, fresh juices and the potato hash which is a more homely and delightfully surprising aspect of the original we were used to! We will definitely be returning soon!

Fawk Foods Kitchen and Bakery was the perfect spot for our group of ten people to sit and enjoy some lunch. The menu is quite small and they don’t have a board inside the shop to let you know what kind of hot beverages they offer. The food is nice though. I had the avocado smash with two poached eggs on top. It was nice.

Excellent Brunch, Honeyeater birds a bit of a nuisance, especially when food is left on the table by customers who are leaving. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to eat,sit back, and chat.

Amazing fresh, locally sourced food with a lot of flavour. We had the mushrooms, beetroot hummus, milk haloumi and peach pan cake. The Pan Cake was the most delicious dessert I've ever had. I would gladly drive up from Sydney for it again! It was nice and moist, fluffy, crunchy on the edges and the Chantilly cream and the chocolate crumbs were great with it. Would come back happily.

After indulging in the bluegrass and burgers experience, I can say it’s definitely one of the best in the hunter valley. It’s so carefully curated from the wines themselves to the food pairing and thoughtfully presented by your host. Today we were lucky enough to have Pauline as our guide and she was sensational. Allowed us to go at our own pace and any possible question we had were answered with warmth and knowledge. The team at Saddlers Creek genuinely care about the wines they’re creating and the customer service delivered is exceptional. Thank you for an amazing afternoon and a massive shoutout to Adam and Sam for also taking the time to answer some of our more elaborate questions. Anyone needing some quality red, sneaky burgers (and cheeseboard) shouldn’t give this a miss. Thank you all again for your welcoming hospitality ☺️

What an amazing experience! I came here last week to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family including 5 kids and it was honestly the highlight of my day. The wine tasting was fantastic and the kids tastings were an absolute hit! We loved it so much we pushed our lunch booking that we had elsewhere back and spent over 2 hours here. Adam was amazing! He was knowledgeable, hilarious and made the experience fun for the entire group ! I couldn't recommend Saddlers Creek more.

Visited as a large group of 10 adults and 3 kids. We were very well looked after and all the wines were explained in an easy to understand way and the kids absolutely loved having their own tasting platter.

This was my second visit to the winery, and it was just as wonderful as the first—which is exactly why I brought my friends along this time. We enjoyed a tasting of both wines and condiments, and we were impressed by almost everything we tried. The Moorescato and Muscat Liqueur stood out as our favourites—absolutely delicious! The condiments tasting was also a highlight. Each of us received our own generous plate, which was a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. We were warmly greeted by Stella, the lovely red Kelpie, and it set the tone for a wonderful and welcoming morning. Special thanks to Summer, whose customer service was outstanding. She made us feel right at home—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. We’ll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended for a relaxing and flavourful wine tasting!

What a wonderful winery. Deb was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and a beautiful soul. The wines were superb, I loved every one I tried, but especially their Moorescato. The only problem with this winery is we wanted all the wines and all the condiments, sauces and specialty lemonade! Oh, and a perfect setting.

Deb is a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcome and was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Stella the dog is a sweetheart also. Great little vineyard with some yummy homemade condiments to compliment their excellent wines. I strongly recommend that you put this small family owned vineyard on your hunter valley map!

Absolutely gorgeous vineyard and family. The chocolate and wine pairings were divine - highly recommend this tasting. Their condiments are also incredible and the spicy grape sauce in particular is a must-have. If you’re ever in the Hunter, this is a very worthwhile stop!

What a great place to start you wine tasting tour. The cold red wines can make your morning in a hot summery day. In addition, the brilliant combination of the wines and chocolates, was an exceptional experience for me; I cannot forget the taste of the aged muscat liqueur. What I saw and taste, just simply showed the owners’ and staffs’ commitment to produce the best quality product. I would love to come back again and again.

An amazing family-owned vineyard that offers some of the best wines of the Hunter region. Highlights include: Stella Sparkle, Press Room G.C.S, Moorescato and Black Sheep Shiraz. When I visited the winery, Summer was our guide for the tasting session. She was so professional and warming at the same time, clearly explaining the production of wines at the vineyard, the history of the vineyard without ever trying to push us to buy anything. Instead, leaving it up to us. We came as normal visitors but left as Moorebank wine club members and a case of twelve bottles. I just have one suggestion that I believe will be relevant in the current climate. It would be great if the winery can install a couple of EV chargers for guests to charge up their cars while visiting. As I understand, many EV manufacturers like Tesla and MG offer free chargers to businesses in order to attract customers. This would be a great initiative and would surely ensure the sustainability credentials of the vineyard. Thank you for a lovely experience. All the best

Hubby and I came here for a tour and tasting on our honeymoon and the experience exceeded our expectations by a mile! Geoff is so knowledgeable and thorough with his tours, it was such an informative and interesting experience, and Mandy took us on a wonderful tasting journey through some of their beautiful wines. Of course we bought some and immediately signed up to their wine club - which is free to join. I cannot recommend Iron Gate highly enough for a lovely, warm and intimate experience and stunning, small batch wines - an absolute must if you’re in the Hunter Valley!

Iron Gate had such an incredible atmosphere. The moment we walked in, we were taken by the warm, relaxed vibe and stunning views that set the perfect backdrop for our meal. The food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We began with the wood-fired bread and chorizo. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were delicious. Combined with the gorgeous scenery and inviting ambiance, our experience at Iron Gate was truly unforgettable.

My husband and I had the most wonderful time for a wine tasting today. We had the whole place to ourself on a Monday, Mandy was amazing and very knowledgeable. The wines were absolutely incredible, we ended up walking away with 4 different bottles. Great view, atmosphere, feels like your in Europe! Couldn’t recommend more!!

My husband and I visited Iron Gate Estate for a mid-morning wine tasting followed by a delicious lunch, and we had the best time! The tasting felt cosy and intimate, with the freedom to choose where we wanted to sit. We picked a quiet table against the wall in the bar area, and Eden, our host, made the experience even better with his friendly and welcoming approach. Although we were given a menu to select our own wines, we decided to let Eden surprise us with his personal picks, and it made the tasting so much more fun and exciting! There were definitely some standouts we both really enjoyed 🍷. Lunch was an absolute highlight. The restaurant was buzzing with a fantastic atmosphere, and every dish we ordered was incredible. From the Paella arancini with squid ink aioli and Salt-cod croquetas, to the Spanish pesto, pumpkin & goats’ curd woodfired bread, Free-range pork belly with salsa roja, and wood-grilled baby broccoli, everything was packed with flavour. We ended on a sweet note with the burnt Basque cheesecake — absolutely divine! 😍 The winery itself is stunning, with interiors and exteriors that give such authentic Spanish vibes. We can’t wait to come back in summer and hopefully enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating. For this visit though, the cosy indoor setting was just perfect

Should definitely try : Spritzanti Semillon Lizzie, Hunter Semillon Angus (goes really well with oysters and fish), Justine Merlot and the Patriarch Syra. I love them all. Staff really friendly. Such a beautiful estate! We did the wine tasting which was great, we also had some olives with it. We were able to try their lemoncello which was one of the best I’ve tried and ended up purchasing a bottle. Definitely recommend coming here.

We had a delightful afternoon at Tintilla Estate. Delicious and great value premium wine tasting alongside their yummy olive tasting platter. Wendy was a fabulous and knowledgeable host. I was a particular fan of their Catherine de'M Sangiovese/Merlot, a perfect red on a warm winter afternoon. Thank you!

We had such a great wine tasting experience here! What we really appreciated was how relaxed the atmosphere was. Our host gave us space to enjoy the wines without overexplaining every detail which can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. But when we did have questions, he took his time and gave really thoughtful and informative answers. It was the perfect balance, we felt comfortable and looked after without being overloaded with information. The olive platter was also delicious!

What a lovely experience we had at Tintilla Estate. The four of us were treated so well by 'Wendy' who was passionate about her wines and extremely friendly. We met the owner Mary Lusby who also came out for a chat and a little history lesson... we thoroughly loved our olive and wine tasting. Family owned and operated wineries like this is what keeps us coming back to the Hunter.

We walked into an empty restaurant at 2:15pm on a Thursday mid December. No servers came up to us at any point during the meal to ask how things were or if they could bring us anything. We ordered 2 pizza's from the QR code on the table. Both were average wood fired pizzas, under-seasoned in our opinion. However the main issue was that there were 2 staff working during the time we were there and neither of them felt any need to check on their only customers. Poor service in a region where there are so many other options. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Unfortunately it was a slow weekday in Winter when we went there for lunch just after 1pm. We were the only table and it felt like we were intruding. We asked if they were open and were told there were only a few items of food available. Basically nothing fresh, only fried. We ordered the only hot food available which was fries, arancini and wings. The wings had no sauce other than a pot of aioli (ie no buffalo sauce or bbq sauce - just deep fried and therefore a bit dry.) The chips were served with the same aioli and tomato sauce- fine. The arancini were fine. Bonus points because they turned on two heaters when we asked (it was a freezing day!) The music was 80s rock which was abrasive given we were the only table - would have been a vibe if it was packed with people downing ale on a summer afternoon. So it was probably just bad timing for us.

The food and beer were quite tastey, so no issues there. But the older server lady at the bar was unpleasant. Clearly didn't want to be there, borderline rude and didn't pour beers very well at all. Not really something you expect for a brewery in the hunter. Not in a massive rush to come back because of that.

Such delicious pizza - the Sausage and Potatoe option was amazing - a flavour bomb. Fries are really generous and crispy, with a delicious aoli option. Loved the Black Forrest Stout and the Old Nessy Scottish Strong Ale - amazing, fabulous flavours. Great service and super location. Would highly recommend.

Great beers, and decent pizza. Mixed up the food orders but that was because people were scrambling to get out of a sudden storm and switch tables. Was also dog-friendly which is a plus for those with furry friends. Would recommend a stop here if you're into a wide variety of beers.

The food is really good here, best pizza I have had in a long while. Kids meal was very decent also, hand cut chips very nice touch. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely come here again. I liked that they had their own beer on tap and tasting paddles as well. The beers were not that impressive, would have like to have seen a nice bold IPA, or a hazy IPA. The beers that had on offer were very approachable and easy drinking. Suits more non craft drinkers. Despite that, awesome location and great place to grab a bit to eat in the vineyards.

It is probably not the best winery to go to, but the view and the scenery is definitely worth the stop. Few good wines but not a very extensive selection. The tasting room also lacks a bit of charm but getting a glass of wine to drink outside with the view of the vineyards is a good option. I found it particularly nice at sunset and it is a shame that they strictly close at 5pm. The site offers also cider tasting and a desert cafe.

Wine tasting at the Lambloch Estate is like having a glass of wine at a friends house. It offers outstanding views of their Vineyard through grand glass windows. If you prefer to sit outside, there's also a large decking area with big wooden tables. It was quite cold the day we went, so we all sat in what felt like a living room, with stunning leather chairs and a roaring fireplace.

Tasted delicious flavoured ciders next door at Polkolbin Cider House, only cider place in the Hunter Valley. Tasted 6 ciders for $5 per person which we could use to purchase cider. Can purchase mix and match flavours in 4 pack or 12 pack ciders. Tried Lambloch Estate wines as well for $5 per 5 wines, definitely deserves title of best Moscato in the Hunter Valley! Staff were very friendly at both locations. Highly recommend Raspberry and Cranberry cider and Lambloch Moscato.

Great views, photo opportunities. The ciders are very nice and in the same vicinity as Sabor Desserts which has beautiful and delicious desserts

NIce tasting room - worth trying their selection of Ciders - a little on the expensive side - but very nice and unique ciders.

Grate experience here. Taste test is well worth doing an very informative. Maybe you will learn a little about your pallet while tasting here.

We had the best experience at Vinden! Lovely staff, they take time to explain every wine with passion and detail. The wine in itself was so good and interesting. We went back to buy more bottles the next day and recommended to all our friends to try this place. We will be back for sure! Thank you for having us

My group of 4 had such a brilliant tasting experience at Vindan Wines. The host, I think his name is Ben, was so easy going yet enthusiastic about the wines. He was very knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge. He gave us a few extra wines to try which was terrific. The grapes are all from their estate which we value highly. The property and tasting rooms are beautiful with some lovely music in the background. Wines were delicious and we did purchase. Such a great time there. Well done Vindan!

We absolutely loved our experience at Vinden Wines. The setting is stunning, such a relaxed and welcoming vibe with beautiful views. The wines are lovely and the wine making process was interesting. The team were friendly and knowledgeable, we were never rushed and were abe to really take our time. Bought 6 bottles. Vinden is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!

We visited Vinden over the Easter weekend and had the most gorgeous time. The process of booking for a slightly bigger group was so streamlined, and we were so beyond impressed with the beautiful location, service and ofcourse the incredible wines. Angus even came out and shared information on his beautiful wines, an incredible experience. We visited multiple wineries in the hunter that day and Vinden was by far our favourite. I can't wait to come back!

One of the best cellar doors we've been to in the Hunter Valley. The views were amazing, the wine was unbelievable, both white and red, but the best was their Sparkling Alicante Rose. The owner Angus served us and made the best effort explaining each wine. Definitely recommend

Under new owner Angus—formerly an architect and photographer—the cellar door beautifully blends tradition and innovation, with his striking photography adorning the walls. Loved the 2024 Gewurtz and 2023 Somerset Shiraz.

We had such a fabulously fun time at Stomp Wines! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Julz was super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about wine — she made the whole tasting experience fun and personal and we were engaged rather than feeling rushed. The wines were fantastic, and we loved learning about the stories behind each one. We particularly loved hearing about Lottie. It’s a great spot to kick back, laugh with friends, and discover some really quality local wines. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re exploring the Hunter Valley!

Stomp wines was the last stop on our wine tour for my hen’s weekend, and they definitely saved the best for last. Meredith was such an elegant and knowledgeable host. The wines were delicious and very reasonably priced. We really loved the intimate and warm atmosphere at stomp, especially the table games were such a nice touch to make the experience even better. The wines are special here. And so is the effervescent presence of Kylie who is welcoming, knowledgeable, and brings so much joy to your session of wine tasting. Having lived in Switzerland, bordering the Alsace region, for many years my family and I have had some real good Gewurztraminer. Capercaillie has one that should rank pretty high up there. We also simply adored the Rosé. A beautiful shade to match the magic it creates on the palate. Two others that deserve special mention are the deliciously fruity Shimmering Chambourcin and the aromatic Verdelho. What an absolute treat and joy to be here. An unforgettable full-on sensory experience 🍷😍👌.

This vineyard is absolutely stunning and charming. I brought a group of US uni students for a wine and food tour with Kris Able (Able2Tour) and had Kris curate the day. What an amazing start - the owner was so kind and welcoming, and the wine is among the best I have ever had. Looking forward to our next trip so we can come back!! Well worth the ride to visit this winery!!

Fantastic cellar door experience! The standard wine tasting experience is the best I’ve done in the many times I’ve visited the Hunter. The wines were exceptional, we didn’t feel rushed and John our guide gave the perfect balance of helping us understand more about what we were trying while letting us relax and enjoy the experience. Highly recommended!

My family visited several vineyards over 3 days. This was my favourite tasting and customer service experience. I highly recommend to come here and do a tasting. The woman serving, whose name I have forgotten but seemed to be possibly owner had incredible customer service skills, humble kind and friendly - very informative , happy to answer, very friendly and kind to children and was the best server out of all the tastings. The wines are very delicious and enjoyable. The venue is not as big and flashy as some others, though it is beautiful and well organised with roses and sweet views. It’s a great stop along the journey and you won’t regret to go.

Thanks to our splendid pommy host for a brilliant afternoon. I’m telling you, this guy knows more about Chardonnay than I thought you could know. The host makes the tasting extremely interesting and can literally tell you anything you want to know. Very hospitable and for $5, a bloody insanely good way to spend a few hours. Don’t forget to buy a few bottles!

This is a little secret find. If you get to go, book in advance and enjoy the tasting experience. It will be a winery that we will return. The wines are made beautifully and as a Chardonnay lover, theirs is one to definitely have in your collection!

So I’m not a Chardonnay drinker however… their six rows 2022 is amazing. During the tasting, I said I only like 1 in 100 Chardonnays and this was one of them! They had so many other varietals as well which were great, Mackenzie served us during in our tasting and she was awesome. The venue is cute, the vibe is authentic and the wine is delicious!

Had a lovely tasting here one afternoon while my partner and I were travelling through the valley. Rebecca, our gracious host, was delightfully friendly - guiding us through their satisfying selection of boutique vinos. The cellar door and seating area is away from the main road with a beautiful view of the vineyard. There’s plenty of shade and a tidy bathroom. We’re definitely plan on coming back for a bottle or more. Highly recommend a visit.

Great service and lovely wines. Beautiful grounds which are tucked away down a dirt road. You won't be disappointed.

Our family enjoyed a 30-minute horse ride along a beautiful bushland trail, followed by a self-guided farm tour where we had the chance to feed a variety of animals. It was such a fun and memorable experience! The kids absolutely loved riding the horses, and it was a joy to watch them interact up close with friendly animals like chickens, ducks, donkeys, goats, sheep, llamas, cows, pigs, and even an ostrich. A perfect day filled with nature, laughter, and hands-on learning!

We spent half a day at Hunter Valley Horse Riding and Adventures and honestly, we can’t wait to go back. Margaret and her team were so kind – they treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We did a 30-minute horse ride, played on the go-karts, fed the ducks, went yabbying, had a tractor ride, and even got to pat the bunnies and kittens. We finished the day with a BBQ pack and cooked lunch ourselves, and the sides were so delicious. It was such a wholesome, fun experience for the kids (and us!), and we’ll definitely be returning on our next trip. We also checked out The Thirsty Horse for breakfast the next morning – highly recommend. The kids ran wild in the kids shed while we actually got to sit and enjoy our coffees. Perfection!

I won a voucher to Hunter Valley Horses a couple of weeks ago at Maccas and booked a 1 hour trail ride. It was SO much fun, the staff were so lovely and I just chatted to one of the trainers the whole time and she told me all about each horse and how much she loves them. They care so much for the animals there and it was so amazing, just had THE BEST time!!!! beautiful trail, gorgeous horse just epic. Can’t believe I won it from Maccas too, so awesome. Will definitely be back!! Highly recommend. - Maya G

What a wonderful experience! Took my niece and her Mum from Brisbane for a horse trail ride last Sunday and it was the best. We are all novices and were a little anxious about riding. The team guided us and made us feel very safe plus the horses were very happy and tame. It was a beautiful ride through the countryside with our lovely young gentleman (sorry i forgot his name). He was very sweet and personable and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Great day out xx

My family and I had an amazing experience with Hunter valley horses on the 2/9 afternoon. I was a first time horse rider and didn’t feel confident riding the horses . Chloe, the trainer was lovely and catering which made me comfortable and calm. She also shared knowledges with me about the horses. Furthermore , the trail was beautiful and the horses were exceptionally trained and clean. Highly recommended and definitely coming back

Had a great experience on our 3-hour horse carriage tour. Jade was a friendly and happy tour guide with excellent photography skills. She gladly catered to our non alcohol request. I loved the horses especially Max and being able to sit at the front. Importantly, they seem to treat their horses well as they rotate their horses so they only work once per week.

No real cows ☹️🐄❌ Two fake cows 🐮🐮 and one named Tobi 🐄✨, nice aesthetic ✨, clean area ✨🧼, a lot of parking 🚗🅿️. Stinky cheese smell 🧀💨 upon entrance 🚪 but some people are into that 🤷‍♀️👃 yk. The bruzz 👨‍🧀 has been making cheese 🧀 by hand ✋🕰️ for 30yrs which is kool 😎. Staff were friendly 😊👋, atmosphere was nice and chic ☕🪑, prices were questionable ❓💰 but fair enough 🤷. The cheese 🧀 was kinda underwhelming 😕 — only reason why lost a star ⭐❌, idk 🤔 was kinda tasteless 😐 mostly, maybe I've just got a weak tongue 👅🥱 but cheese was kinda bland 😶. For a cheese factory or whatever, like if you're already deep in the dairy game 🧀🥛, chuck in a bit of ice cream 🍦 or a top-tier cheesecake 🍰 gimme a reason to stay after tasting that mid cheese stmo smh, pmo fr ngl.

5 stars – A cheese lover’s dream! I absolutely love the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory! They have an incredible selection of cheeses—I ended up getting a bit of everything because honestly, you can never have too much cheese. My favorite was the Hunter Gold Washed Rind Cheese—it’s nothing like anything I’ve ever tried. If you’re in the area, this cheese is a must! Also, do yourself a favor and grab a jar of their chilli jam—it pairs perfectly with the cheese and adds an amazing kick. Highly recommend stopping by and stocking up before you leave. You won’t regret it!

Came in to grab mine and my partners favourite chilli jam, we’re so happy you still continue to make it! Stayed for a cheese board and a wine, the Staff were friendly and knowledgeable! We had a great experience.

Every year we come here and just gets better every time!!!! You have to add this to your list of things to do! The cheese tastings are the highlight and always end up with a heap of cheese and condiments before we leave (the cheese club is awesome too for getting it to your door). Can’t wait until the next visit. Love love love it here

Cheese nice, people nice, but 'Masterclass' not worth it at all. My partner booked us the 'Masterclass' and we were truly aghast at how poor the value was, and it was not as described. We had a 10 minute talk where we were shown ~3 photographs, and sat in front of a 30 second video that was on repeat. We were then left to taste the 8 cheeses (we received approximately 30g of each cheese between the two of us, and a handful of crackers). No accompaniments, as was noted, and we had upgraded to have some meats included. Photo of what we received in full below. Total cost: $257. I kid you not. You'd be better off using those funds to buy actual cheese from them, as the cheese was nice enough but there was no way we were going to pay any more after spending approximately $1000/kg for what we had already had. I really don't write bad reviews, but the value here was an embarrassment for the company.

The tasting plate is perfect for a light nosh. Products in the store are on the pricey side but the flavour and quality is worth it. Standouts include the Brokenback vintage cheddar, Hunter Gold washed rind brie, mixed olives, apple chutney, Falwasser crackers & rose honey 🐝
