There were only a couple of sorbet-type flavors for those avoiding lactose, and none of them were particularly exciting. 🍧 Santini Gelato – Cascais, Portugal Found one of the best gelatos of my life in this seaside town. My favourite combo: Chocolate Chips, Mango and Coconut. The chocolate had crunchy bits, the mango tasted like the real fruit, and the coconut was perfectly sweet with real flakes. Went back twice the next day because I couldn’t resist. 🫶 If you spot a Santini in Portugal, go in and treat yourself. Totally worth it. 🇵🇹✨

Try their brigadeiro and coconut flavors. Unreal taste. Unmatched to the flavors I’ve tried before. 5.70€ for a medium one in which 3 flavours can be chosen. I did the portuguese mango too. Highly recommend. The queue worth the wait

Texture of the ice cream was really good. Not too creamy nor icy. Pistachios was nutty with a bite. Coffee was with chocolaty bites and passion fruit was sour enough!

I visited in late September and enjoyed a delicious treat before catching the train back to Lisbon. They are known for their fruit flavors, so do try them! I think I got raspberry and mango, YUM!

The cakes were a delight - probably the best pastel de nata I've ever had. Service is friendly, there are lots of seats and clean toilets (you have to ask for a token at the till). The matcha looks weirdly grey and tasted sandy, but gave an energy boost which lasted for the rest of the day.

During a brief visit to Cascais, we serendipitously came across this café while casually wandering about and our eyes were drawn by the beautiful baked goods they had on display. The staff members at the register were very friendly, answering any questions that we had in an impressively professional and courteous manner. A lot of European countries, including Portugal, generally don’t have a tipping culture but if they did, this is one such instance where those at the service industry should receive a massive tip. We ordered several pastel de nata to take away which was carefully packed for us for our journey back to Lisbon. Theirs is definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever tried in Cascais, maybe even all of Portugal. Impressive service and outstanding food – a must try while in Cascais!

One of the most amazing bakery products store in Cascais or even Portugal - the products were amazing and so was the place! The staff was very courteous and helped make the selection - we enjoyed the Chocolate Biscuit as they called it and Jesuit’s de Amendoa - an Almond delicacy and one of their specialties! Both are a must try - the place should be on your to-visit-list, if incase you are travelling to #cascais

Incredible. Went here for breakfast on holiday and it was amazing. The atmosphere was brilliant and peaceful, despite the amount of people there. I ordered French toast with banana and it was amazing. I also had their hot chocolate with salted caramel which was just so smooth and rich. Staff were lovely and quick considering the size of the restaurant and everything came within a more than reasonable time.

Very classy restaurant for casual dining in 2 main indoor rooms and a semi enclosed patio . Extensive menu. They also have a separate cake/pastry and coffee section. All looks so delicious. Pictured is the avocado toast with bacon and egg (€9.50). This restaurant has been established generations ago and appears to have lots of regular customers. We sure would be if we lived here.

If one is sufficiently fortunate to leave the crowds on the paredao and still have a few euros to spend after frequenting the Casino and golf courses, Garrett in Estoril is a wonderful place to experience the “Old Portugal.” Many others have described their excellent coffee and cakes, but few people seem to be aware that they also (on site), hand-make decorated cookies in many different shapes; and, if one orders ahead, you may have as many dinosaurs, horses, butterflies or other forms from their zoologico to take with you in the colours of your choice. Thanks to Bruno, we celebrated Canada Day in Saskatoon, with lovely little bees!

I can’t speak highly enough of this beautiful restaurant. The food was delicious, atmosphere was 5 stars & the best part was our very funny, kind & helpful waiter CARLOS!! He really made us feel very welcome. People like Carlos are rare & you can tell he takes his job very seriously. We really really appreciate how he looked after us. I look forward to going back.

Possibly the best bakery I have ever visited. Fresh pastries, biscuits and cake, great coffee and fresh orange juice. Staff are brilliant with kids, so much choice and the pick and mix mini pastries are a great take away treat. If you are nearby stop in here and you will not be disappointed. A sugar croissant and orange juice is the best we at to start your day is Cascais.

A well run bakery chain. This locations a personal favorite from our last visit to Cascais. Normally we come here for the great coffee, snack & our daily bread. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements/preferences at all, you should stay away (is practically what they told us after my friend had an allergic reaction due to cross contamination as they did not clean the equipment between customers). The staff was unfriendly, their regular ice cream underwhelming and everything here is overpriced compared to quality. Cannot recommend this place.

Great ice cream shop. Very allergy aware and accommodating, as they happily opened new containers from the back to ensure no cross contamination! Highly recommended for yummy ice cream, especially if you have a little one with tree nut, or gluten allergies.

They don't care about cleaning. They dip the scoops in a tiny tub of dirty water between servings. I got an allergic reaction from regular ice cream because they scooped ones containing nuts before. Then they tell me cross contamination is normal and I shouldn't come there if I have any allergies. I wouldn't go for their advertised gluten free options for sure if that's how they clean things. The ice cream itself was overpriced and not great tasting.

AVOID if you have allergies or food intolerances! My partner got an allergic reaction because they didn't clean the scoop properly after the previous client. Not only did they not offer a refund when we talked to them; not only did they start ignoring us completely when we suggested they could at least give us the money back (me standing with the melting ice cream in my hand, clearly visible) - they didn't even ask if he was okay, if he needed help! They claim they have gluten-free options for their waffles and similar, but I would really not trust them on this. They just don't care. And the little tub of water they put the scoops in to "clean" them was quite disgusting.

Forget Santini 's, this is 💯% the BEST gelato shop in Portugal (I would say the world but I haven't travelled around the world). The service is 5⭐. They were unbelievably kind and lets you taste test a few of the flavours 🍦. I had the Tchipepa and Cascais. I really recommend that combination. The Tchipepa flavour is vanilla with chocolate chunks but it isn't that flavourless tiny non existent dots it was actual big chunks of chocolate and the Cascais ice cream tasted like mint but with the flavour of the air at the beach. It was absolutely amazing. Of course if your not into that you can have many other flavours! There are so many flavours I never knew existed as ice-cream, like Tchipepa, Cascais, Melon or Quark lime. I really really recommend going to this place Tchipepa, I want you to know I come here and will continue to come here every year.

We think this is best gelato shop in Cascais. The gelatos are not too sweet and very fresh. I had a yogurt flavor and it was the best I've ever had‼　It was not too sour or too simple but creamy and rich flavor.

One of my favorite bakeries in Lisbon! I came across Sacolinha while I was Googling about for the best sweet treats in Lisbon, and was immediately drawn in by their massive selection and great reviews. Cascais is, unfortunately, quite far from the heart of Lisbon, but I was thankfully planning to make a trip out there as part of a tour group (shoutout to Buendia's Sintra / Cascais tours) so had the perfect opportunity to check out Sacolinha's giant pastry case. My mom and I decided to split an assortment, which included two mini bola de berlim, as well as two different types of castanhas de ovos. The bola were lovely; they were super soft and pillowy, and the fillings (one was egg custard, the other nutella, I think) were both great. They were a smidge too sweet and did slightly remind me of American donuts, but they were a bit softer and less overwhelmingly sweet than their US counterparts. My favorite, though, had to be the castanhas de ovos. I already love chestnuts, so having the world's best nut translated into a dessert was a dream come true. They were so delicious that my mom and I had to come back to buy a box of six to bring home with us. The store itself is a pretty simple, but large pastaleria. It tends to get pretty crowded, but there's, thankfully, ample indoor and outdoor seating. You order up at the counter, and then they'll log your order onto a standard card, which you can later take up to the register to cash out. It's a bit of an odd system, but honestly makes the ordering way more efficient, since you don't have to wait for everyone's credit cards to process or cash to get counted, and you can go up to the register to pay at your leisure.

Expensive, mediocre service, only accepts cash payments. In Portugal, in several Cafes, the same menu (coffee, orange juice, croissant) can be bought for almost half the price, and the products are of better quality (Padaria Portuguesa, Padaria do Bairro, Pingo Doce, Auchan, etc, all offer the same for < €3, while here we pay €5.5). The survival of Sacolinha can only be justified by the lack of competition in the vicinity and by being in an area with a large influx of foreigners. The fact that it still does not accept card payments is surreal. The variety of pastries is good, it's a shame everything else isn't worth it.

It used to be a great place to get a coffee and nice pastries. Last weekend a coffee was served with a pastry that could not be cut with a knife. They said it was kept in the fridge. But we do that at home and it gets not like that. They also used to have good bread and now they have no fresh production and use plastic to keep the existing pieces on the shelves.

This was once a good place to get a quick meal. Across the years, though, it became worse and worse, to the point every time I still tried going there, I regretted it.

Great cakes and cupcakes, ideal for any party or special occasion. Also a great place for coffee and tostas. The outside seating is pet friendly.

I stumbled upon this place accidentally and bought all kinds of sweet things. They were unbelievably good, and the prices were cheap. What a gem - Will come again!

Chaos reigns in the establishment, the floor is not cleaned, the tables are dirty and sticky. Desserts taste like rubber and taste of using non-natural products. Great place to eat great pastries. You can get cakes as well there that fit nearly every situation. They have a nice big aquarium in a corner next to some tables inside which gives a great ambiance. They also have outside seating which in the summer is great to be at. You can pay in cash or card and also if you have a Portuguese bank with MB Way. Its prices are very reasonable. Staff is good as well. Very friendly most of the times.

We were near by and wanted to get something sweet, we tought on trying the doughnuts and were actually quite nice and tasty, they were fresh and full of flavour. The banofee could have more toffee but it was amazing with bits of banana and the lemon one was delicious. The place had a great vibe on the back there’s like a inside terrace with plants and quite fresh place with great atmosphere. The workers were very friendly although there wasn’t a sit and serve service you have to pay and get it at the till we had a nice experience. If you’re coming specially for this place and come by car is quite hard to park nearby the best is to search for a parking area. Prices are high but the quality is worth it.

Coffee made with love ❤️ quite possibly the best I’ve tasted! coffee is roasted on site and then served by the most wonderful young guys (owners) who have a clear passion for creating great coffee/cocoa. All made even sweeter by having the coffee served with a delightful slice of homemade chocolate. Cannot recommend enough!

Excellent specialty coffee roaster and chocolatier. It is located right in downtown Cascais. You can sit outside and look over the bay or inside, with a lovely sitting area.

Service was amazing. The owner of the shop showed me exactly how the coffee is roasted freshly in house and offered samples of fresh cacao. The taste of the coffee drinks were very natural and free of artificial ingredients. High recommend this and can’t wait to go back!

A discreet, hard to spot café & chocolate factory outlet, right at the centre of Cascais. Very tastefully decorated, it offers very good coffee; however, the star here is chocolate. From the divine, heart warming hot chocolate (liquid chocolate, actually), to the various chocolate combinations (with sesame, ginger, salt and pepper pistachio, etc.), all the way to their exquisite 100% cocoa chocolate, which is to die for: no bitterness, no acidity, a mellow flavour with excellent complexity and structure, makes it probably the best 100% on planet earth. The owner knows his business: Ice cream quality on high standards and better than the main street competition Santini. My favorite is their Signatur flavour Sofiale. On top a very personal service and good coffee too. Worth the effort to take walk/drive up the hill and enjoy this hidden gem.

This place is an absolute joke. We ordered a large frozen yogurt, and you’d think that would mean a decent amount of toppings, especially since the large costs more. Instead, they gave us literally two teaspoons of toppings. I’m not exaggerating. The Oreo “topping” was just a faint sprinkle, barely enough crumbs for pigeons, and the cookie pieces were almost nonexistent. To make it worse, the portion of toppings for a large is the same as for a medium, so you pay more for more yogurt, but not more toppings. It’s insulting. The customer service was just as bad. The guy serving us had the worst attitude rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful. It was like we were bothering him by being there. Save your money and go literally anywhere else for frozen yogurt. You’ll get more toppings, better service, and won’t leave feeling ripped off.
