The 29 best coffee shops and best cafes in McLean

After having lunch, we were looking for a coffee shop and found one nearby. This coffee shop is located at the corner of a shopping center and offers a large outdoor seating area with tables and chairs. Inside, the shop is well-maintained with plenty of natural light. The service from the staff was quick, and we got our coffee drinks fast. The coffee was of excellent quality, with a slight sweetness at the end, full flavor, and a touch of acidity. Their plant-based milk was also of good quality, not watered down, and added a lovely richness to the coffee. There were a few too many tables inside, and it would be great to have the coffee brand's logo on the cups to strengthen their brand.

Friendly baristas. Met owner, also very approachable. I'm slowly learning about coffee -- their Coffee of the Day seemed pleasant, smooth tasting. "Sulawesi" for the "full strength" option. There is also a quiet, study-conducive atmosphere in their seating area (electric plugs available along one wall, with high chairs and a flat bar for laptops.) EDIT: almost forgot: wi-fi was running around 0.97 mbps (Ookla Speed Test) so make sure to bring your own tether beast.

This place is kind of overpriced considering the quality of food and drink served. They also microwaved the baked good I asked for on a paper plate. If they’re not spending the money on a dishwasher or a $50 toaster oven, I wonder what else they’re cutting costs on… Coffee wasn’t bad though.

Not a great spot if you’re planning to get work done. The Wi-Fi is limited to just one hour, and even then, the speed is frustratingly slow. Feels like a very cheap approach for a coffee shop in this day and age!

Great atmosphere and service. My Americano was excellent. Finally a place that doesn't serve burnt, bitter coffee! Nice space inside. Lots of light. Clean bathrooms.

I was driving by and decided stop by at Greenberry’s cafe to grab something cold and… Walked in, ordered mid Nitro Salted Caramel, customer service was neutral, went to pick up my coffee, holly cow 🐄, at least 20bugs around pick up are flying and enjoying the atmosphere lol coffee taste, customer service, an hour WiFi connection and … I don’t think I would consider this location or give another chance! y’all have lot of room for improvement! aaa lottt! If you care about your customers, take action and do something, otherwise you can’t compete with others… good luck 👍🍀

It was a really hot day so l decided to get the matcha frozen, but it's a bit too sweet and I'm not quite certain what that green food coloring that they added. They do well in the coffee department but for other drinks, I would avoid. Workers are very nonchalant.

I’ve been here 3xs now and loved it. The atmosphere is pleasant in a pastel, cafe, comfy-chair way. There aren’t a ton of tables (unless the weather is good though for outside) but we’ve always managed to find one. My favorite menu items are crepes (2 come with each order and you can mix/match them) and the amaretto latte. They have a small case of pastries (Mediterranean style) and a small case of ice cream which we haven’t tried. It’s the perfect place to meet a friend for brunch.

We went to have brunch a while back, and the food was tasty overall. Apart from the food, the place also offers a range of pastries, chocolates, and gelatos, which can be enjoyed with coffee to satisfy your sweet tooth. The ambiance of the place is quite neat and tidy, with beautiful wooden furniture. The staff provided decent service overall, making it an enjoyable experience.

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The photos online are not what you actually get. When I stopped by this morning, the display case was almost empty. I ordered two croissants and a hot bacon-and-egg sandwich to go, and paid $25. Honestly, $15 for that sandwich felt very overpriced compared to other places. When I opened it at home, the only accurate part of the description was that it was hot. The bread was dry, there was no mayo, just one egg and a strip of bacon, and no cheese. It left me completely shocked that this is what they’re serving for $15. The bread wasn’t fresh either, which made it even worse. I’ll be leaving reviews so others know what to expect. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place at all.

Easy to find and good size reserved parking available in the area. During rush expect the wait time to be quiet a bit more, I would highly recommend reserving it ahead of time. Seating is limited. They do accommodate walk-ins but take that chance during non-peak hours. Any party above 4 will need reservations. Ambiance is nice, wooden seats are hard, tables height is decent and atmosphere is a quiet. You also get a view of the kitchen for some of the tables. Food is fresh, great and consistent. Overall it will leave you satisfied. Menu has good selection of items. Service and friendly staff will make it a good experience. Make sure you grab a seat first and then order. You might not find any of you do the other way. A good experience overall, I will go back again to try different items on the menu and update the review.

Excellent service. I ordered the Mexican Mayan and a strawberry jam crepe. My crepe had more jam then I usually like, but it was still good. The Mexican Mayan was delicious. My grandmother has been a frequent customer of StarNut for quite some time. She was the one who recommended I visit. The staff and owners have always treated her and her late husband with the utmost respect. They have consistently shown incredible kindness toward my grandmother. Thank you StarNut for the great meal and kind atmosphere.

I’ve been a regular here for years and they’re fantastic. Delicious paninis and the best pistachio latte you’ll ever have. The staff is so kind and really cares about their customers and community.

Beautiful patio and dog-friendly. Tasty gelato, though pricey. Check policies before you go-- parties of 4+ on the weekend require reservations, and it looks like you can reserve patio tables.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this coffee shop. The large windows let in lots of natural light and made it easy to people-watch the busy street outside, while the inside stayed calm and quiet. Everyone seemed to be reading or working—no loud conversations—which made it a peaceful spot to focus. I also loved the touch of greenery with the plants around the space. As for the coffee, I ordered a vanilla latte. It was fine—not bad by any means, just not a standout for me. Overall, a great place to sit and relax or get some work done.

They have absolutely great coffee and delicious baked goods, the biscuits sandwiches is so good. They have decent amount of dinning space. The Order line was kinda crazy during weekends, but the waiting time was kinda acceptable. Overall, great coffee place for some quick bites and they are featured local artists which is nice.

Had the wildest story! Met one of my friend’s sisters here after asking about her pro-Palestinian shirt and became friends with her. Had a great time; very kind people come here. Highly recommend it for the atmosphere and coffee. They even roast their own onsite!

Immaculate vibes on a leisurely Monday. Rare Bird was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. We drank a cardamom vanilla latte, iced dirty chai, and a nice big drip coffee. All exactly what we needed for a bit of pep in our step. The sun dried tomato, goat cheese and egg biscuit sandwich was incredible and would have ordered 6 more. Delightful little shortbread cookie for a sweet treat. Noise level was great, a slight buzz but easy to work in or join a few friends. Ample parking available behind the building

This is a quiet coffee shop, concealed in a corner of a street lined with other shops. There are so many arrays of house plants, lots of seating and even plenty of sunlight to make it feel cozy but also social at the same time. The food and coffee were pretty flavorful. We got an iced coffee and the vanilla cardamom iced latte with a cherry chocolate scone and spanakopita. If ever you’re free on a weekend-run, don’t walk to Rare Bird!

This is a cute spot to grab coffee and easy to find a place to work while you enjoy. There is easy parking nearby. I got the nitro cold brew which was tasty. I got this though because Oat is their only non dairy alternative. I'd expect a popular coffee spot to have at least 1 other non dairy option. I also got the tomato, goat and egg biscuit sandwich. The sandwich, particularly the biscuit, was very large, but tasty. The cheese though, was not a goat cheese. It was like a brie or camembert. It was a stinkier cheese and not at all expected. It might be good to properly label the cheese. It was an odd flavor and didn't blend well with the other items, I ended up not eating the half of the biscuit it was on. The tomatoes and egg were good though, and probably didn't need the whole biscuit anyway.

Fiancé and I wanted to stop in bc we’d read great reviews, and they didn’t exaggerate! We got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, Gen Mai Cha green tea, cardamom vanilla latte, and the cardamom kouign amann pastry. Definitely worth a long line on Saturday morning 👍🏼!

This Starbucks is one of the most spacious in the area, offering plenty of parking. There’s also an option to sit outside, and even on weekends, finding a table is easy.

Arrived today at 2pm. Service was ok and fast. Although my disappointment is in 3 important things: - bathroom was dirty and smelled bad. - I had to get napkins to wipe my table. I noticed the store was not clean in general. Dirty floors and tables. The place was empty, and staff not busy. Seems that hygiene is not an important thing at this location. - Wi-fi is terribly slow. I wanted a place to chance the setting for remote work as I live close by. I will not be coming back since due to the bad internet, I am wasting time waiting for websites to load.

Very lovely Starbucks coffee shop! The people that work here are so kind and sweet! I love the healthy food at Starbucks, the menu is designed intelligently. The coffee is of course superb. :) I was wowed with my delivery order, it was packaged so neatly in a nice Starbucks bag with a very thoughtful handwritten note of thanks. Made my day. Starbucks is heavenly!! 💖👍 Their cozy and fun coffee shops are a wonderful place to relax, do some work, read, socialize, and have an amazing meal, snack, or beverage! I have so much respect for the Starbucks company and I’m a very grateful customer!

They won’t make mobile orders if there are any cafe orders coming in. Submitted a mobile order, drove all the way there, and still waited in the cafe for 10 minutes before having to ask them to make my drink (a whole 25 minutes after ordering) and was met with disdain and a completely rude barista.

A man who is tie hair with red band and many hair in his face. He seems like tired and very unpleasant when I order. And He don’t call my name :( So sad. Great place for remote working, with plenty of outlets, wifi and seating! Food and drinks were also great (the sweet potato fries especially were incredible)! It’s convenient that they have breakfast, lunch, dinner and beer, with plenty of snacks.

It's a great spot to chill out, especially as it's just one block from Mosaic. The menu boasts an extensive selection of beers, and the space gives off a warehouse vibe with its high ceilings, airy ambiance, and spaciousness. Although our overall experience of having coffee and food was good, we felt the portions were small.

First visit and I left very happy. The food was unexpectedly delicious. The fried pickles were light, crisp, and tangy. My fries arrived hot and crisp. Best of all the staff allowed my wife to have a small taste of several beers before she ordered one she liked. She does not like strong aftertastes or citrus. Her burger was huge and cooked perfectly. The staff was cordial and attentive. Definitely worth a visit or two.....

Super sad that the food has gone down hill. I previously ate here for breakfast and coffee and the food was amazing. Here today and so disappointed. I ordered the highly recommended chicken and biscuits and ended up with a slightly burned biscuit with a chicken strip! Understaffed coffee came about 20 min after my food and order.

I didn’t even realize Caboose had breakfast until recently. I got the breakfast sandwich on an english muffin with Irish bacon and I was SO GOOD!! I’m already looking forward to getting it again. I also got a mocha which was pretty decent.

Bear is OK, good variety, very nice cider. Great to have coffee options. Pastries are bad. Food was always bad since they opened the main location in Vienna, but understandable, just a common sense "barf" food, but not it became really atrocious and unedable. We ordered: French fries, wings and pickle chips - bad, bad, bad! Even McDonalds food tastes better. Do not waste uroney on food. Come for drinks and eat elsewhere. There are so many options with good, great and very affordable.

Great spot for breakfast in my opinion. The prices are decent, but the service is slow due to the FRESH made to order food. This is not a fast food rush type spot. They are quick with some items but the more complex meal items they are making from scratch and you can taste it. Great to grab coffee and beignets or a biscuit sandwich.

This place is busy! Definitely order ahead. Breakfast sandwich was kind of small but perfectly proportioned. Think the bread type could’ve been more inspiring. Iced coffee worked its magic on me. Perfectly sweet but not too much. I’ll need to plan to go back to try their beignets and other treats.

A nice little corner brunch shop. Staff are polite and the food is delicious! Try their Louisiana style French beignets and biscuits! They are delicious! Coffee and hot chocolate are good as well!

Omg. I don't even know where to start. I've had beignets in New Orleans (Cafe Beignet) and the ones from Bayou Bakery definitely satisfied that craving!!! The mufaletta was everything I could ever want in a sandwich. It was piled high with quality meats, served on a delicious roll, with mayo and yummy olive tapenade. It was bursting with flavor, and definitely one of my new all-time fave hot sandwiches! I was torn between ordering this or the Arm Drip (roast beef Po Boy, looks similar to a French dip). I compromised and ordered the mufaletta with a side of the gravy that comes on the Arm Drip. (They don't actually have the option to order the gravy on the order online menu. I requested a side of gravy in the "notes" section (alone with extra mayo). It didn't occur to me that they have more than one type of gravy, ha! When I arrived to pick up my order, the lovely human who greeted me (Karla) asked me which kind of gravy I wanted, and was able to quickly add a small cup to my order for just $1. I dont expect much as far as customer service, because I know first-hand how rough it can be to work those jobs. You'd never know it based on my interaction with Karla. She was all smiles, extremely friendly and personable. It felt like having a conversation with a friend as opposed to a business transaction. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I cannot wait to return and try more items. I definitely want to dine-in sometimes as well. The seating is somewhat limited but its got a cute ambiance. I definitely need to try their baked goods sometime. Oh! They sell yesterdays leftover baked goods for $2! How fun! Love that, because not only do you get a good deal with the "old" pastries, you know everything else is freshly baked that day! You can tell a lot of love is poured into this place, and the staff seem happy, so not only is it good for my taste buds, it's a place I am happy to support. Do yourself a favor and go try them asap! ​ What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. Someplace I would love to reccomend to tourists, and visit myself again and again. 4 is great, somewhere I'd love to return again and again. Back-up reccomenation for tourists. 3 is good. A solid option if I am in the area. I may reccomend to locals, but would probably leave it off my list of reccomendations for tourists. 2 is ok, but only because it a great value, unique, and/or convenient. 1 means I would not return

This place is too small. The line wrapped through the cafe and made moving about difficult especially with the extra tables they have. We got a breakfast sandwich with ham and egg on a roll, a sandwich with sausage and egg on a biscuit and a seasonal scone (chocolate cherry). The roll sandwich was good but it was also the size of a slider, which made the price seem outrageous. The biscuit was a typical biscuit breakfast sandwich, we should have gotten some cheese as the biscuit was a bit dry. The scone was like the person that made the filling burnt everything.

My wife didn't love the flavor of her latte (but everybody has different taste preferences). The muffins and scones were enjoyed by all in my family. Service was good! Would definitely come back on next visit.

One of our favorite spots for late weekend breakfasts. Biscuit breakfast sandwich with bacon is tasty, biscuits and gravy are savory, and the "Hungover Hog" is a filling and delicious meal. My fave coffee is the lavender honey latte. And the beignets? Oh my God THE BEIGNETS. All warm and fluffy and generously dusted with sugar. So, so good. Love the vibe, and the staff is always efficient yet friendly. Keep it up, y'all!

Unreal catering experience !! Truly amazing from start to finish especially thanks to Tetiana who helped me and was super efficient friendly and professional . As the school parent for both of our daughters I have to facilitate teacher catering funded through parents and we were so happy to purchase coffee and AMAZING pastries from NSS in Clarendon. Everything there is perfection - quality ingredients and top notch drinks. Breakfast , lunch or dinner we love to eat there as well as take out Thank you Northside and Tetiana for our last minute catering request for our wonderful teachers

Great spot for a weekend brunch. Loved the cuban sandwich. There is parking in front but don’t count on it. A lot of people so you might not be able to sit yourselves.

My cousin and I hosted a bridal shower at this location and we were so happy with how everything turned out. The staff especially Kelly was so helpful with booking and planning the event. The communication was top-notch. The day of, Mario and his team did such a great job with taking care of us from helping us set up the decor to setting up the music to bringing us anything we needed during the event. The food was AMAZING and a big hit with our vegetarian crowd. I’m not a big fan of food at coffee shops but it was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for helping us put on such a memorable event!

Northside Social Coffee & Wine is a great spot for pretty much any time of day. In the mornings, they serve good coffee, freshly baked pastries, and the atmosphere is good for getting work done or just taking it easy. They have plenty of seating both inside and out, so even when it’s busy it doesn’t feel totally cramped. Later in the day, they shift into wine-bar mode, perfect if you want something more laid-back with a glass of wine and some small plates.

Northside Social is such a great spot! The coffee is excellent, the food items are fresh and tasty, and their happy hour is delicious with great options. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the space has plenty of seating (with outlets, which is a huge plus!). It’s perfect for working, relaxing, or meeting up with friends. Definitely one of my go-to places.

Stopped her for lunch. On a nice day, it’s a nice spot to sit out and drink/eat. Nice selection of wines, and small but diverse menu options s. We had the salmon salad, quiche, pop tarts and some wine. Will definitely be back.

Casual, unassuming and welcoming meeting place that you can go to with friends, family, colleagues. Their baked goods are very good. I tried their gluten free chocolate pecan cookie that was delicious! It had a crispy coating, chewy middle, and very chocolatey. The coffee cake was good and not too sweet. They have happy hour and other dishes that I would want to go back and try. There's seating upstairs and in the back area.

Delightful little bakery with cute vibes and a phenomenal selection of treats. I first fell in love with the Georgetown location of Bakeshop for its variety of vegan and gluten-free items, and the Clarendon spot is no different. They offer a ton of standard, vegan, or gluten-free cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; each one is as delicious as the next. However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.

Bakeshop is such a fun and cozy spot! The desserts are always fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious — you can taste the quality in every bite. The cookies and cupcakes are especially amazing! The coffee pairs perfectly, and the staff are super friendly and laid-back. It’s the perfect place to grab a treat, chill with friends, or just make your day a little sweeter.

The atmosphere and service were great! Also nestled in a cute part of town. I think I would have loved if this place had a bathroom. There are so many drink options and you have the ability to sit-in and enjoy your treats/ drink, but without a bathroom, it’s difficult to give this place a 5 star review. I also wish the gf items would have been clearly separated like the vegan ones were. I felt like I had to struggle to find the items they had since it didn’t match the menu online. But super grateful they had something gf to offer. I’d love a gf biscuit/ scone to add to what you already offer + more macron flavors.

I’ve been a loyal Bakeshop customer for years as I love their banana pudding and breakfast sandwiches. When it was time to choose a cake for our wedding, I looked into the fancy wedding cake bakeries and the economical grocery store sheet cake options. But in my heart, I knew I wanted a Bakeshop cake. The 8 in 3 layer Neapolitan cake was so delicious and picturesque as our cutting cake. Our guests also enjoyed the chocolate cake and carrot cake. We got so many compliments on how amazing our cakes were all night. We love you, Bakeshop!

Ordered delivery for a co workers birthday. They delivered perfectly to downtown D.C. and everyone raved about the taste and presentation of the cake! Excellent experience 👏

The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!

I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of Good Company and the fact that you can get miniature versions of the big fancy doughnuts! I got the chocolate pistachio mini version and surprised at how sweet I found it. I believe it was a great doughnut but I will probably stick to something a little less sugary next time :) I tried the pork belly breakfast sandwich and ordered lime crema on the side. I believe the crema absolutely made the sandwich go from “pretty good” to “delicious”. The pork belly could be seasoned more.

I’ve always enjoyed your food and appreciated the good service from your company. My favorite item has been the steak and cheese, and I usually look forward to ordering it. However, my recent experience was very disappointing. I ordered my usual steak and cheese last Sunday, but this time it was not up to your usual standards. As you can see from the attached photo, there was barely any meat in the sandwich, and the taste was off as well. It felt like a waste of money, which was surprising given how much I normally enjoy your food. I’m not sure what happened this time, but I hope it was just an isolated incident. I’d really appreciate it if you could look into this. Thank you for your time.

Possibly the best breakfast sandwich, I ever had in Northern Virginia. The Veggie Egg and Cheese. Staff is always really nice too and the coffee is great.

Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe is a must-visit for breakfast or a leisurely afternoon. I've been a regular in recent weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed every visit. The Pastrami Breakfast Sandwich is a standout. The pastrami is perfectly cooked and the flavors are incredible. I'd happily eat this on anything! The Breakfast Burrito (with chorizo) and the Breakfast Sandwich with cream cheese and pesto are also delicious, though I’d recommend the latter on a bagel. The doughnuts are, as you might expect, fantastic. However, at $4 each, they're a bit of a splurge for me. The mocha latte and nitro cold brew are both excellent and provide a great morning boost. The service at this place is great. The woman at the donut window (Unfortunately I didn't catch her name, but you'll know) just lights up the space and makes every customer feel so welcome; her joy is contagious. Highly recommend!

Had an uber eats order yesterday! The Mocha Espresso donut was sold out! They replaced it with some kinda cinnamon donut and I couldnt eat it! I never got a heads up until after it was delivered.I tried disputing this on uber eats but they said its not eligible for a refund.

I was a bit disappointed. I came here for vegan donuts, and they only had one vegan flavor. The donut was 4.90, which is more than I've ever seen for a vegan donut. I would be OK with the price if it meant the staff was being well taken care of, but I was still asked for a tip while paying. The donut was OK but nothing special. Finding street parking was easy (I went on a weekday afternoon), but even that seemed a bit overpriced at almost $4/hour. Donut run is a much better option for vegan donuts: easier parking, cheaper, bigger and tastier donuts

Amazing donuts in creative flavor combinations are reason enough to visit. Super fast and friendly service, a chill vibe and good coffee are reasons to hang out a while and savor. No dedicated parking here but plenty of public garages nearby.

Really solid coffee bar, also has good beer. Great staff, and the coffee was very good. Strong flavor, even for decaf. Great atmosphere and a modern buildout. Fairly quiet, and not a bad place to meet someone. Convenient parking, would visit again.

We came here every morning we of our trip. The food and drinks are incredible. The fresh fruit cups with perfectly ripe mango were my favorite. I highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese on sourdough, the ham and cheese croissant, the salmon bagel, and the fruit cups. My friend loved their coffee. I wish I had tried some of their desserts but I didn’t have room! They looked decadent. There is seating inside and outside and everyone was sooo nice! I can’t wait to come back here on our next yearly DC trip!

I love walking over here to get a dirty chai when I’m in the area. Their breakfast foods are pretty great. I’ve done both dining in and carry out here a number of times. The coffee is consistently the highest quality you’ll find.

Pretty pricey but what can you expect in a coffee shop at Arlington. I loved everything but the avocado toast was way over limed. Great vibes and the food was awesome.

This is a cute black owned cafe in Arlington. I have stopped by here a few times for my favorite coffee order an Iced Mocha with oat milk. The staff and owner are really kind and friendly and they use high quality coffee beans which I love. Unfortunately their mochas are inconsistent, some days it’s great and others I need to have it remade because there is either too much or too little chocolate in it. My parter loves their cold brew and I might give it a shot the next time I visit. They have some baked goods available for sale as well but I am yet to try them. They also sell a variety of wine and coffee beans. This is a small cafe and can seat maybe up to 15 guests inside at a time. They also have outdoor seating available in the warmer weather.

I really enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee here! it’s a great spot and the staff are friendly. However, the music is often too loud, which makes it hard to relax or have a conversation. It would be even better if the volume were turned down just a little to create a more peaceful environment. Hope this can be considered!

Absolutely amazing customer service and quality of food. They are accommodating for dietary restrictions and were very helpful talking to me about gluten free options. They offer GF toast and are accommodating to warm it up separately from other bread and wearing gloves to avoid cross contamination. 10/10 experience here

The smoked salmon bagel and veggie omelet was delicious, as well as the coffee. The staff was friendly and the space has a cozy vibe. Prices are also reasonable.

My husband gave the “Roundabout” pastrami crogel breakfast sandwich a big thumbs up! Otherwise, I had a disappointing experience overall. I’m happy to pay any price point for yummy food but my meal here was easily the worst I’ve had in recent memory. Do not order the Za’atar pita with a sunny side egg and halloumi. It looks amazing in the photo below but it had no taste whatsoever— I was so surprised 🙁 The coffee was average but not bad (vanilla iced lattes) and the wait times had me feeling like I was in Europe with how long it took for them to attend customers. We walked in to place a pick-up order because as you might notice, their menu is not posted anywhere in its entirety and the ubereats online ordering option is minimal. They have also revamped the menu several times so I do advise to just go inside to place your order. We personally didn’t wait long to order but I saw two women wait around 10 minutes easily despite already standing at the cash register. We waited about 25 minutes for our food after ordering! They have an expansive menu and I love supporting small businesses but my impression is that this spot is hit or miss depending on what you order! We spent $50 on two small iced lattes and the items in the photos.

This was our first time at Detour and we will be back. The cappuccino and latte were excellent. The BLT is big - made on focaccia and served with a large portion of fries and plenty for 2 hungry people. A steal at $12. We took the almond croissant to go since the BLT filled us up. The service was excellent and everyone was so friendly. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy.

One of those perfect places you decide to make your living room outside your house. Please fix the security certificate issue on your awesome free WiFi. Unapologetic justice supporting establishment. Amazing food and menu, big variety of coffee and tea, serves breakfast brunch lunch and dinner. Many seating arrangements, some with large tables some with small, plugs available. Prices not cheap but not egregious, and 150% worth it, to find a place where you can spend money to repair a tiny amount of your humanity that is being chomped and whacked day in and day out. The ez pass sand which was heavenly, amazing layers of soft bread, meat and cheese. The empanada was well balanced with the side salad.

Excellent food! Excellent service! Excellent atmosphere and location! The name speaks for itself. The food never tasted better anywhere else but at this great cafè! Thank you guys! Recommended by my friend who's a regular here! Though limited parking, a spacious coffee shop! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for grabbing a quick coffee, doing work, or hanging out with friends/family. They have a pretty large menu of drinks and food items. We tried the specials, the Habibi Latte and Campfire Latte. The Habibi Latte reminds me of the House Latte at Tatte Bakery because of the cardamom, pretty good! I really liked the Campfire latte, which was essentially a mocha, and it came with a torched marshmellow and graham cracker :) Would definitely come back to try their food and other drinks!

10/10 the coffee and food are amazing! I got the roundabout breakfast sandwich and habibi latte, both were absolutely delicious! Easily one of the best lattes I’ve ever had.

I love the cozy enviornment of this small bussniess. The food and drinks are fenominal and I will definitly come again. The fair trade goods are so high quality and make amazing gifts. Trade roots is popular with all ages and that is obvious if you come in on a weekend such a lively place even on a rainy day. I don't think there is a better cafe around. I would definitely recommend the chocolate muffin, the richness and sweetness are balanced perfectly to make an amazing treat. The people here are so kind and welcoming.

Stopped by for a coffee and stayed for the charming little gift shop inside. People are nice, coffee was tasty! Lots of cute, artsy things made by local and regional artists, and even artisans from developing countries!! Great vibes. Really like it!

Excellent chai! Very cute cafe and gift shop. Super nice staff. Parking lot on side of building. My mushroom and cheese turnover had a wonderful flaky crust, and lovely mushroom flavor, but was extremely salty (maybe the type of cheese used?). Just thought I'd mention this in case others have to be careful of sodium intake.

got an orange blossom latte and fancy grilled cheese. grilled cheese was sooooo good and was nice and filling which makes me think the price is worth it. i wish my latte had more flavor but their service was so kind and welcoming that i will be back to see which other drinks are more my preference 😊

Such a cute spot! It was pretty busy when I arrived, but the vibe was still great. I ordered a vanilla latte, which was smooth and delicious. I also tried the avocado toast on their homemade focaccia. Really tasty, though I think a touch of salt or more flavorful pickled onions could have taken it up a notch. I had my eye on the strawberry matcha, but they were out of matcha that day. Still, it was a lovely experience overall and I’d definitely come back!

Simona is my preferred spot for a great espresso drink in the Courthouse/Clarendon neighborhood and their food is pretty decent as well. It's always busy and noisy, so if you like the bustling vibe, highly recommend. If you prefer a quieter spot, I'd get it to go. They work quickly but it can still take a bit to get your coffee just because they're so popular, so plan accordingly.

Prosciutto, Brie and fig spread on warm baguette for the win! Popular local cafe with a great vibe. We went mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the place was packed with lots of young adults! Despite how crowded it was, service was really good. And although none of us ordered any drinks (other than water), there was a never ending line of coffee and specialty drinks being made.

A hidden gem in Arlington. This chic little cafe will make you smile when you walk in. Love their interior decor and the menu wall. I absolutely love their outdoor sitting area, especially when it's a beautiful fall weather. It is a perfect place to read, work, or just hang out. My favorite is their house drip coffee, but other drinks are amazing too :)

We searched for a breakfast place with good coffee in Arlington and found this one at the end of a residential area. The café has a lovely patio that will be perfect for enjoying breakfast when the weather is nice. We arrived as soon as it opened and it quickly became full, as the inside of the café was small. The shop was beautifully decorated with small fresh flowers on each table and greens on the shelves, giving it an organic and inviting feel. The white walls and light wood-toned furniture made the ambiance cozy and welcoming. The coffee tasted great, with a signature creamy flavor with earthy and slightly sweet notes. Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious, with house-made focaccia bread that added a nice crunch. We preferred the Tyler sandwich, which had cured pork and more flavor and texture than the Wilson sandwich. We also tried the Chocolate Scone, but it was dry and broke into powdery pieces, which we didn't enjoy. However, this didn't affect our overall experience at the café. Clearly, this café was very popular with everyone, including dogs. We appreciated the staff and barista making the perfect coffee and ensuring our dining experience was great at this lovely café this morning.

I got a Franklin sandwich and an Americano to go, but when I looked at it, it seemed like it was actually a Wilson sandwich:( They served me the wrong sandwich. Of course, I couldn’t check right away since it was packed to go.

I visited East West Cafe for the first time to try their Turkish breakfast, and I was not disappointed! I arrived around 10 AM and placed my order at the counter, receiving a number to place on my table. The staff, who were all Turkish and very friendly, brought the food directly to me. Although the atmosphere wasn’t quite “wow,” it was cozy and pleasant. As time went on, the place started to get busier. The Turkish breakfast was absolutely delicious – as you can see in the photos, it was a generous portion, enough for three people. I found it a bit pricey, but when split between three people, it becomes much more reasonable. Even though we were just two people and couldn’t finish everything (we were stuffed!), it was a great experience, and I highly recommend trying it at least once, especially if you’re craving an authentic Turkish breakfast.

It's a good turkish restaurant, especially for breakfast. The ambience is excellent, and it has workstations inside as well as outside. Has a good breakfast menu. I tasted their Farmer's breakfast, chicken Alfredo pasta, and french toast with coffee. All were delicious. They service is good, and the staff is helpful. Street parking is paid except on weekends and holidays. It is located near Metro station, Clarendon. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Update from 2025: Food is still delicious but the service was TERRIBLE! You must approach and order your food at the cashier. The waitress did not speak to us at all when bringing the food - did not even ask if we need anything else. I saw the other table bought water bottles and the person had to carry 6-7 bottles back to their tables themselves. They might have been short in staff, but that should be acceptable. Amazing restaurant! We went for breakfast and were greeted warmly, though we had to seat ourselves. The waitress was very nice, got all the orders correct, and offered extra tea with our meal since there were many of us. The meals were delicious. I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I was looking forward to checking out the spot and had it on my list for awhile now. The restaurant is spacious inside. Food came out relatively fast, but service was lacking as no one checked on us after dropping off food. I must compliment the photographer and the menu creator(S). I ordered Turkish coffee, expecting it to be served in traditional turkish coffee cup, but instead I received it in an espresso cup. Yep, less liquid due to how much ground was in there.

The menu picture is incredibly misleading. You are required to order and pay upfront before being seated, and the communication was poor. The service was not good; no one checked on me to see if I needed anything. When I complained that my breakfast looked completely different from the picture, the staff told me the owner was aware of the issue and was working on changing the menu. Additionally, several desserts were missing from the menu, which is frustrating. If an item is not available, it shouldn't be listed. When I requested turkey salami, I was given some form of cooked cheese and charged for it. Despite me pointing out that I had asked for turkey and didn't like the cheese, the staff was unconcerned. I advise future customers not to trust the menu pictures, as you will likely feel cheated, just as I did. Furthermore, the toast was burnt and hard, not the soft bread advertised in the photo. Oh also i had to pay tip, not required, i still did when it printed, but as far as i know you pay tip for service, i did not had a service, unless bringing my food to my table means service, so figure out that at the end , don’t give tip upfront is my suggestion. I learned from my mistake .

Delicious food. Their “tost” was better than what I expected. Little pricey but should try if you woke up in DC area and like Turkish breakfast.

After ordering the food at the counter, I waited 20-30 minutes, then decided to ask how much longer should I be waiting. Shockingly, the waitress told me that the kitchen missed my order, and haven’t started it yet. This is so unprofessional and the food are only just so-so. I do think the vibe is quite nice and a friendly waitress introduced me some dishes that she would recommend, but I will not be visiting again.

I got off a plane and my bestie took me to Kaldi because she said I’d like the food and the vibe! She knows me well! I loved the menu offerings and the food and drinks were made to order and so fresh and delicious! A perfect welcome home breakfast.

Came in late afternoon for a glass of prosecco, which was delicious! The sound level was comfortable in the mostly-empty space. I did see several single people working on laptops, as others have mentioned. My server was knowledgeable and helpful. Cash was not accepted.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an amazing dinner at Kaldi Social House! The vibe is cozy yet modern, perfect for both coffee and cocktails. I tried the 8oz Blackened Salmon Filet with pomme purée, potatoes, broccolini, and lime compound butter — absolutely delicious. The Blood Orange Cosmo was refreshing, and their Espresso Martini with Baileys is a must-try. Huge thanks to Sean and Darnell for the wonderful hospitality. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the Arlington area!

I had a great experience at Kaldi House! Earlier in the day, it’s a popular spot for people working or studying, and in the evening, it gives off cozy first-date vibes. I really enjoyed the cortado—definitely recommend it. Just a heads-up: make sure to grab a table before ordering, as it can get busy and they ask which one you are at. I tried the Caesar salad, and for the price, it wasn’t my favorite, but the small plates looked much more promising. Overall, a solid spot with good energy!

It can get really packed and finding a spot for two people can be rather challenging, but has some good food and drinks to offer. Service is a little weird as there isn’t anyone walking around dedicated, but you may have to go to front for things at times.

I used to live in Silver Spring and would go to Kaldis often there. I had only been to this one once for coffee. We were looking to try a new place for breakfast today so I suggested this and we were pleasantly surprised! I got the breakfast burrito and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffles, and it was delicious. Both tasted home made — the burrito wasn’t too salty, and I’m usually hesitant about sauce because restaurants tend to add too much. But honestly the burrito wasn’t perfect. Maybe add a little hot sauce if you’d want to spice it up even further. My boyfriend really enjoyed the chicken and waffles, the chicken was Korean fried and it was so good. I wish I had taken pictures but was too busy eating lol but I had to come write a review. And we will definitely be back for breakfast soon!

USED TO BE GREAT! :( This used to be my favorite place in the whole region and the kind of place I came multiple times a week and wanted to bring friends to. Pastries have always been a bit meh but the drinks were superb, the menu terrific, reasonably priced for the area, and food always steller. Over the last year it's gone downhill, starting with the kitchen. Portions have gotten significantly smaller (most recently they've changed all their dishware, since their new portions looked ridiculous on their formerly large dishware). Portions decreasing and prices increasing might be understandable in this economy but quality has also been in serious decline. Sausage severely undercooked, fruit that tastes rotten or like fridge, eggs either undercooked or overcooked, food cold or seemingly microwaved. All while prices increase. Vibe has also changed: service is worse, servers less friendly, an overall decline in quality of environment, but the food has been the dealbreaker for me. The last time I brought friends in I was embarrassed by the food so won't be doing that anymore. At this point every time I go the food is disappointing to the point that my husband (who used to swear by this place along with me) says he never wants to go back. So far it's still a great workspace which is a plus, but the lack of quality food makes me not want to return since it always feels like a loss. The hot drinks are still excellent but I'm dreading when that goes too. In any case, $50 for an unsatisfactory breakfast, or even lunch, feels absurd. Sorrowfully looking for a better haunt now, if anyone has any suggestions.

I've visited several Tatte Bakery & Café locations in the area, and while the Clarendon spot boasts a beautiful atmosphere and prime location, my experience here didn’t quite meet the expectations I had going in—especially after enjoying the Bethesda locations so much more. I tried a few new menu items this time, and while that’s always a bit of a gamble, I was hoping for better execution. The Salmon & Avocado Tartine was underwhelming, especially when compared to the Avocado & Poached Egg Tartine, which I highly recommend instead. The hibiscus iced tea was watery and lacked flavor, and I was pretty disappointed by the iced matcha latte as well—it just didn’t hit the mark. One detail that stood out: I ordered a large latte and it was served in a to-go cup rather than a ceramic mug, which detracted a bit from the café experience. That said, the latte itself was made perfectly, and the pear tart was absolutely delicious—definitely a highlight. The staff were accommodating, though not particularly warm, and while the vibe of the café was nice overall, there are a few small things that could be improved to really elevate the experience. For now, I’ll stick with the Bethesda locations, but I hope this one continues to grow—it has a lot of potential.

Had a late brunch at Tatte Bakery & Cafe|Clarendon. Ordered Fresh mozzarella Sandwiches and iced blood orange hibiscus Tea( served without sugar). Both were delicious. Sandwich was very fresh, tea very energetic. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

If I could give a 0 star, I so would! This location and experience was by far the worst first experience that I was so disgusted by the brand. I’ll keep it somewhat short. I ordered online for pick up. I opted for no ice in my drink and went for the gluten free challah bread or so I thought. At pick up, I was surprised to see that my drink was only filled halfway and mind you this drink is darn near 6 bucks!!! I asked if I could get it all the way up and the so called GM, Musu refused and stated that it was their “policy.” Which made no sense cause I’ve never heard of such at any other places. She lacked great customer service skills. I handed her back the drink, which she gladly took and asked her for a refund. Silly of me to not check my food and left and when I was well into MD, I decided to eat. The food was a smack in the face! I’m not sure what dog they prepared it for but I wasn’t the one! It was carelessly put together with burnt toast (which I wasn’t supposed to get but rather challah bread), burnt and hard sausage to make matters worse. I took a bite and I was instantly pissed on top of cutting my upper palate. I called back and the person I spoke with was rude and I wish I got her name. If there’ll be substitutions then the site needs to be crystal clear so as a consumer, I know that going for gluten free bread= getting toast and not the bread it comes with. Overall not a great experience and I’m not sure that I’d go back.

Came to Washington DC for a whirlwind weekend visit. Had a little bit of time to kill before my flight home, so we wandered around this cute little area for a bit and then came here to Tatte for a light breakfast. Ambiance was really striking. You walk in and boom, you're smacked with the wonderful smell of baked bread and pastries. You're forced to walk by dozens and dozens of delicious options as you wait in line to order. I got some coffee drink. I don't remember which, but it was iced, and it was pretty good. I ordered a couple of pastries, namely Chocolate Croissant (Four Valrhona dark chocolate batons rolled into Tatte flaky croissant dough) and a Dark Chocolate Muffin (Rich chocolate muffin made with 62% Dark Valrhona chocolate and roasted beets). The croissant was excellent. Very, Very flakey. You will not be able to avoid getting flakes everywhere. But the buttery pastry is actually very flavorful and isn't just the boring part of the pastry, like other American versions of a pain au chocolat. The chocolate here is the 50/50 star of the show. Very well done. The real treat here was the muffin, though. Dark on dark on dark chocolate. The only real source of sweetness was the beets. Very subdued, but sweet enough to be a sweet. Just so elegant. I was a big fan. Overall, I'm very happy with Tatte, and I hope they bring one to Orlando. We sure could use a place like this.

The flat bread was quite good as was the peach cooler. The cheesecake was average. For what it is, I thought the food was a bit too pricey but it is tasty so I would recommend it. The service here was good. The restaurant was clean.

I come to Tatte Clarendon a few times a week, and it’s consistently such a great experience. The café is always clean, the staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to offer helpful suggestions. The food is fresh and consistently delicious, and as a matcha lover, I can confidently say theirs is always made perfectly. Musu, the manager, truly leads by example — she’s always visible on the floor, greeting guests by name and creating a warm, welcoming environment. It’s easily my favorite spot in Clarendon to work from or just grab a quick meal.

Upscale cafe with extremely high prices. Super popular which means it's difficult to get a seat to enjoy your drink or food. Drink was good although wouldn't consider it exceptional.

Found out about Simply Social after a google search trying to find a drive thru coffee spot near me! Love that this is a local small business and my order was even taken by the owner who was incredibly sweet! I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte (one size) and a steak and cheese and both were delicious! Food and coffee came out within 5-7 minutes. Will definitely be coming back for the delicious food and the convenience of not having to unload the kids in and out of the car!

I only do take out since I’m in college but everytime I have gone in staff have been kind and welcoming. I like that her staff has an eclectic vibe. I love coffee in general and the food, can be a bit expensive but pretty normal in comparison to Starbucks coffee. I live really close to here and eat here pretty often. I like how strong the coffee is and the option that I can have lunch food at breakfast if I want. I love their chicken pesto sandwich and I like that they served this with fruit and not potatoes (which is most often with other breakfast locations). When we first moved to this area we did meet the owner like many others. She was kind and welcoming when many others have not been. Thanks for all the coffee guys! Haha

This place is amazing! I searched for a random place to get coffee and a breakfast sandwich and was blown away. High quality coffee- I got the vanilla latte and it was perfect, not too sweet, not too milky, and still tasted like coffee. Then I got the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was one of the best ones I have ever had. They made the egg to order (a fried egg), the bacon was thick and delicious, and even the bagel was fresh and delicious. Simply social coffee made my day!

The coffee tastes good but the chicken is a bit dense, plain and not flavorful. Al though l liked the bread and pesto taste itself.

A Hidden Gem – Absolutely Worth the Visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was just in the area for a meeting and decided to stop by this coffee shop—and wow, what a pleasant surprise! From start to finish, everything I had was a hit. I ordered a breakfast bowl, a warmed vegan chocolate muffin, and a specialty drink that the manager/owner helped me choose (shoutout to them for being so helpful and knowledgeable—especially since I’m notoriously indecisive with so many tempting options on the menu!). The breakfast bowl was fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. The muffin was warm, rich, and honestly one of the best vegan treats I’ve had in a while. And the drink? Perfectly crafted and hit every note I was hoping for. The portions were generous—I didn’t even need lunch afterward! You can tell there’s real care and quality in everything they serve. It’s rare to stumble across a place that gets everything right, but this one absolutely did. Easily one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to in a long time. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it.

Visiting the area - 1st time here. Cashier was friendly for 9am! ☺️ Things to note which make this a 1x visit and only 1x visit for me. All items come in take out containers despite asking "for here". No disclaimer on this or I would have gone elsewhere (don't like to use to go coffee cups). No water options available other than to purchase a bottle. Staff member stated "cups are tied to inventory" in the reason they don't offer tap water. Sandwich was fine but underwhelming. Minimal seating.

So I see a few reviews complaining about the prices. To be fair, their coffee prices seem high, but, I wasn’t there for coffee, so, it didn’t matter to me. I went into this quaint shop for a Grecian Yogurt Bowl and buttery croissant…..and they didn’t disappoint. The yogurt bowl was graced with a generous portion of creamy, plain Greek yogurt, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, almonds and drizzled with honey. (I asked for no granola, which usually comes with it.) The tangy yogurt paired beautifully with the sweet honey and fruit. And, it was a sizable portion! Two could easily share a bowl! The croissant was sublime. Fresh, with beautiful, buttery laminated layers. Very yummy! Two thumbs up from me!

Coffee is amazing, and the pastries are really good too. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere of the cafe is good, the wifi doesn’t work if there are too many people in the cafe though. The seats were comfortable and the tables were big, which is perfect for studying.

We had breakfast at this amazing cafe for 2 consecutive days and we loved it. The french toasts are to die for, the cappuccinos delicious and the staff super professional and friendly. We wish we could have a place like this here in Miami so we could eat french toasts more frequently.

We stopped here as a morning stop before the zoo. It was pleasant with polite barista's and good coffee/muffins. Cost is a little high, but we are from a lower cost of living state. So no biggie. We enjoyed chilling out and enjoying a nice morning.

I used to love this place. Good coffee, good (albeit overpriced) food. But now their coffee prices are absolutely outrageous. A cup of good coffee costs $3.50-$4 max. Go to Simona a block away, which is way better and fairly priced, or even Bayou Bakery and Northside Social. They just charged me $5.25 for a coffee plus a bogus mandatory service fee, coming out to $6.04 for just a cup of drip coffee. Unbelievable price hikes all around.

Stopped in here on a Sunday morning when looking for coffee and breakfast pastries in the area. The cashier was welcoming but not necessarily the most helpful especially considering I told her it was my first time there. The speciality matcha drink was good and you can tell from the flavor they use a quality matcha base. I was slightly disappointed the special raspberry sauce just stayed at the bottom of the cup but I’d still recommend trying it. The croissant was a pure delight! Parking was an ease and there were plenty of seats available with enough quiet to concentrate if working. I’d recommend and return.

For Five is such a nice place to go at any time of the day! There’s soooo many options for drinks/food and everything is really good. I LOVE their matcha 🍵 and yogurt bowl. All the baristas are so nice, specially Isabella, she always has the best attitude. The place really feels like a community if you come often, you really feel welcome. Perfect place for studying (there’s electricity outlets), grabbing a coffee before work, or chatting with your friends.

I really liked my latte, it was great! The breakfast options overall are good and it’s not outrageously priced. The only thing is that the place is REALLY small and it gets packed on the weekends. Since it’s getting cold outside the inside of the coffee shop gets packed.

I stopped by here as soon as they opened one morning when I was in town for work, it was the earliest that any coffee shop nearby opened. The coffee shop is very cute and I was surprised to realize that they also had food so I decided to stick around for a quick breakfast. Service was really warm and good, Coffee was good, food was pretty good. Everything is a bit overpriced, but probably in line with other similar coffee shops in the area. This was a great spot in the Tysons corner Boro area!

This Australian cafe is aa cozy place with nice vibe. Breakfast options are really good but priced a bit high. Considering the area it’s located in that should be fine. It has outdoor and indoor seating. I liked my vanilla latte and breakfast sandwich. Service is really good

The food was mid, the pastrami sandwich was ok, but the rest could be better, the espresso machine was broken, we ordered a glass of milk and reminded her still didn’t get it, guess our waiter was not in the mood today, a lot of better options around

Had such a great experience here! From the moment we walked in, the staff was very welcoming and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. Every dish we tried was delicious, and you can tell they really care about quality. The atmosphere was also comfortable and inviting, which made the whole experience even better. I truly enjoyed everything about my visit and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and great service!

I used to enjoy this café—I came a few months ago and had a wonderful sit-down experience with attentive service. That’s why I came back today, despite having to pay nearly $5 an hour for parking. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. When I walked in, the server at the front didn’t even acknowledge me—no hello, no eye contact, nothing. I stood waiting for several minutes, unsure of what to do, until I finally had to ask if I could be seated. Her response was dismissive, as if I had asked a ridiculous question, and she just said, “Sit wherever you want. Are you going to sit down?” I took a seat, she dropped off a menu, and never asked if I wanted a drink or explained how ordering worked. I sat there for another 5–10 minutes, completely ignored, while she went about her business. No one came back. At that point, I had wasted over 15 minutes and $5 in parking, with nothing to show for it—not even a glass of water. I ended up leaving frustrated and disappointed. A café can have good food, but if the staff doesn’t even greet customers or provide basic service, it ruins the entire experience. This place seriously needs to train their servers on the basics of hospitality. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Wow! Everything we ordered was delicious. It’s a small bakery but very nice and clean and the smells of fresh baked breads and pastries hits you as soon as you open the door and makes you smile. Strawberry croissant was really good and the Kouign Amann was perfect. A little too much ham on the Parisian Sandwich but still very good. Highly recommend.

This fresh Baguette french bakery is a discovery: we were totally unprepared for the deliciousness of the food there. They have proposed a new sandwich approach that we immediately felt could revolutionize the sandwich field. Yes, it is that unbelievable in taste , in appearance. You owe to yourselves to drive there and order one CROGEL sandwich. A palate revolution !!

The Cro’gel was amazing, great balance of the ingredients. The almond croissant had some filling inside, made it unique and delicious. Definitely need to try!

Nice little bakery in Bethesda. Their baguettes won awards! We parked free at the garage 1 block away on a Sunday.

My daughter and I are thrilled that Paris Baguette has finally opened in Bethesda. We had been eagerly waiting ever since the “Coming Soon” sign went up. Their cakes are truly unbeatable—every one we’ve tried has been delicious—and we especially love the sweet rice ball. We find ourselves coming here almost every day, not only to enjoy the wide variety of drinks but also to study. The beautiful ambiance and lighting make it a perfect place for both relaxing and getting work done.

A gem in Bethesda! An experienced baker makes the French pastries and bread here, e.g., the croissants are tasty, laminated, fresh, and well-baked. The Kouigan Amann is crunchy, flaky and sweet. An assortment of novelty/seasonal pastries (in different sizes) are always fun to try. The coffee is good, but oat milk is the only milk alternative. The lighting is bright. There is plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor). Closes early, six o’clock.

We were looking for a source of fresh sourdough bread while in town! Fresh Baguette and Mia delivered! I called from an hour away to confirm they had loaves of bread and Mia was very helpful and gracious. She described the various types they had which there were many! We selected ancient grains and sliced! Yum! We found a rare parking spot right out front and Mia greeted us! Bread was ready! Latte for my wife! Thank you Mia! We made delicious sourdough toast that evening and I have sandwiches for today. Life is good with fresh baked sourdough!

Good amount of selection with some salads, the ever elusive Vegetarian Keto is supported here! $5 off first order and free coffee/tea if you register for their rewards program, it went through before placing the order! And free wifi to download the app if you care to. Order was the super greens salad, which was very good. All the tomatoes and grains fit well together (while they lasted). The bread and dressing felt very 'finger food's esque for current year- they gave me single serve silverware for covid reasons no doubt, but I guess that's a slight oversight on plate layout. Lots of spinach and arugala. I'm confused why there was egg but no cheese which it seems this could really use, it's not vegan or anything.

Tiny Anaheim Panini breakfast sandwich that shocked us! The Corner Bakery Tysons Corner is greedy. We paid $10 for the sandwich Anaheim Panini and got a tiny small mini sandwich. Greedy hospitality..Do not recommend Corner Bakery Tysons Corner.

Food was ok, the staff were friendly and very attentive. Quite a few menu items were out of stock, and there were some odd things like no butter for the pancakes. I've been to better corner bakery's before. We went around 10am on a Sunday and it was pretty empty. Was also weird that the plates were paper plates and everything was disposable. Can't complain about the staff though, they were polite and helpful.

The better version of Panera. Their Pick Two is fantastic. The salads are usually pretty good, and the sizes of everything are perfect. I go here a lot for lunch, and my company has used them for catering many a time. My favorite is the bacon mac and cheese with tomatoes; it's just such comfort food. Their pastries are pretty good as well. I also like how they add a new special menu item every now and then. Their shrimp salad sandwich they used to have was fantastic, but sadly it was a limited time item. Either way, great lunch spot for sure.

Fast service, quality food and taste.

Easy to get in and out of. Whatever the sandwich was I had, it was awesome. I think it had chicken. And some kind of sauce. Ask for that. Also I made myself an Arnold Palmer, and their tea and lemonade selection made for a great one. Also got a Caesar salad, which was great. The dressing came on the side in a ramekin, which leads me to believe it's made in house, which is good.

My girlfriend and I had breakfast there the food was ok its relly expensive but that was ok i asked for a coffee refill but i was told they didn't do refills ,i won't be going back there ever .ill go to Macdonalds.

This is the best Le Madeleine I've ever been to. The staff was very fun and catered to all of my needs. And even though they are a much smaller location, they did their best to accommodate to every thing I walked in there wanting. Will come back.

I had gone in last week on a Thursday morning to go and have a coffee and decided to order a couple of danishes and also a couple of cookies and bought some of their famous basil tomato soup it was very awesome to try at home and I could say even though that it's a little expensive I enjoyed every bit. It was pretty awesome to know that the ladies bathroom spoke French😂 otherwise all is good 👍😊 I will be back to get a coffee one day thank you for all the good service 😊 bonjour

Poor service. With the sheer amount of chain cafés around this area, you are much better off going to Pret, Firehook, Paul or Au Bon Pain over this place.

THE WORST SERVICE and FOOD I'VE EVERY HAD TO EAT AT A FULL SERVICE LA MADELEINE. The employees lack customer service and neatness. The sandwich I ordered and required to be heated was burned when I opened it up to eat at my office. I will never return to this location. I'll be surprised if there still in business next year. Also, the interior is atrocious.

When I got a job next door(ish) to Wisconsin Location, this was my most joyful moment of the day, getting a latte from Bourbon coffee. It became my favorite latte to drink. When I got another client in Tyson's corner I was lucky enough to have another location, then staying in Crystal City - location in Arlington was close enough too and finally when a client moved downtown, the L street location was not far away but soo busy. During the stay on Wisconsin I was fortunate to meet the owner's kids to worked there either part time or full time while pursuing their other passions and once I met the owner/founder. They were expanding and based on product quality I was hoping that you could get one anywhere in the US, and then pandemic struck. When I moved to Miami I kept ordering coffee as I wasn't travelling anymore. Planning a trip to DC, I just saw that all locations are either permanently of temporarily closed. I would be so sorry if such a fine place is gone forever in the US. I will go to Rwanda if I have to where they originated and seem to operate a few locations including the airport (that has to be a good sign - usually a profitable location). So thank you for making my days happy - I really wish you pop up back in the US.

Love the coffee here and no its not spiked coffee. Bourbon is actually a plant's name from where coffee is sourced! The coffee is deep and bold, the milk consistent and frothy. The venue is beautiful! With a clear Kenyan theme. Spacious too.

You should definitely try this place! Came to check out the pour overs. Only after I got my drink did I see someone with a real mug. I was a little disappointed that I hadn’t thought to ask for one because doing coffee tasting out of a paper cup isn’t the best. The cashier didn’t seem real knowledgeable about coffee, but was friendly. Those things aside, the Virunga was amazing!! Fresh, bright, and notes of honey. I would definitely buy these whole beans. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the coffees from the other regions. Definitely better than Starbucks, solid place for decent, well-made coffee drinks.

I am visiting from the south and came across this location thanks to a friend/google recommendation. Very aesthetically pleasing spot! The service was super friendly and quick, and my panini and coffee were made perfectly! Really a cozy atmosphere.

What is advertised vs. what I actually got. I must say I am very dissatisfied. I heard great things about this place and for my first time eating here, I get this. Please do better. No flavor, can only taste bread, a bit of “chimichurri” and bland steak. For $15?! Definitely not worth it at all!

Loved the food but every time we go the staff looks annoyed that we are there to order food, it’s so bizarre. They are so rude and unhelpful. They make me and our family friends feel so uncomfortable. After several opportunities (hoping it was just a fluke or bad day) we are switching our weekly lunch spot because the staff makes the experience horrible. They are beyond rude. You’ll smile and say hello and they just stare at you with a frown, no response. We don’t even want to eat there after ordering because they make it so uncomfortable. Really disappointed especially for a $100+ lunch for the family.

I was searching for a healthy BREAKFAST place at 10am on a weekday. In McLean, it's almost hopeless...at least that's what I thought until I found Sweet Leaf!! I'm a healthy vegan and ordered the Tofu Tango. What a great breakfast that was. They start with kale and spinach and add roasted sweet potato, quinoa, apples, cucumber, pumpkin seeds. I was the happiest person on earth. I would drive from Fairfax for that enjoyable and delightful breakfast. It was so nutritious and refreshing and really started my day off right. If you want to start off your day on a healthy note, this is where you want to go, not the lousy SAD (Standard American Diet) diner down the street, where I almost ended up! ------ The one thing I didn't like though (no fault of the restaurant), was that there was a couple there blasting a video of people screaming at 10am. It was so disturbing that I had to leave the area I was seated at and asked them to stop. Other customers also left the store. Don't know why two inconsiderate people should chase people away from their dining experience. Why didn't the staff say anything to them?

Rude staff, checking out other people at the register while taking my order and not even finishing it. Then the second time after she came back asked me what I wanted and while I was giving her my order she told the person behind me to come over so she could check his order out. Rude! She did this twice! Will not spend my money on a place with rude staff, no matter how good the food is. So I walked out without finishing my order, will never come back.

First of all I want to mention that the service is always excellent 👌 but the food was not so good as looking. Had coffee there a couple of times- so/so, would not come specially. My Obgyn is in the same building, this is the reason I am stopping by sometimes. Yesterday I tried their breakfast, but would not going to take it again- overpriced for this kind of sandwich.

Please check your food carefully before eating. I bit into an unknown object and also found other foreign items in my burrito. When I brought it to the manager’s attention, she simply shrugged it off.

Everyone is so friendly. I'm vegan and was happy to find delicious vegan soup options and vegan baguettes. However, the pastries are not vegan. But, they are all homemade and look heavenly. They offer gluten-free as well.

This is my go-to spot for whenever I need cupcakes for an event! Sweetbites have made me cupcakes for numerous occasions (birthdays, baby/bridal showers & work gatherings) and they’ve always been a hit! It made my decision so easy to have them make my wedding cupcakes! We did 2 flavors, a “his and hers” - almond funfetti and chocolate salted caramel. People still ask me where they were from! Lastly - whenever I go to the cafe, I always get a latte and a chocolate scone. They are to die for!

This place has it all! Breakfast, Lunch Sweets and ice cream, all specialty made! Everything here is homemade and you can definitely tell a difference. Everything is so good!! It’s a great vibe and I love the outdoor seating.

I always hear about this cafe in Tysons Galleria so had to check it out! It's a cute NYC style cafe connected to the Ralph Lauren store. It's a small coffee shop that had a line of customers coming out the door, and some indoor seating, otherwise you may have to finding seating elsewhere in the mall. Even with a lot of customers the sevice is pretty quick. The coffee it's self was okay, I just got an iced latte and my partner got a cortado. The coffee tasted like any other coffee I've had at other coffee shops, so wasn't super impressed for the price. But the vibes were great to say the least.

Love Ralph’s Coffee. The Polo brand respresents a timeless americana aesthetic. It’s inviting, feels familiar and elevated all at the same time. Ralph’s coffee carries this identity. On a busy day, you can feel the hustle and bustle of a new york city coffee shop. Grab your caffeine essentials before work. You can also feel the relaxing vibes of a more sophisticated cafe maybe perhaps on a break or after work decompress. This is definitely a go to for us everytime we visit the galleria. The atmosphere adds a nice touch to our mall experience and the coffee is just that good. The service is excellent and consistent.

Ralph’s coffee has fantastic service, great coffee, and cute decor. This is always my first stop whenever I come to Galleria. My favorites include their iced latte and the draft oat latte from La Colombe. I love that Ralph’s came to Nova!

Came in Saturday around noon and had the best experience ever. Roland and the rest of the staff helped us out, let us sample the new lemonade they use in the matcha, and brought incredible vibes to the whole experience. The matcha lemonades were amazing and it was such a good kick start to my afternoon. If you’re shopping at Tyson’s II and need a pick me up… Ralph’s is a must

I visited Sunday Morning Bakehouse in McLean this week to give it a try. The menu is extensive, the specialty lattes are creative, and the smell of fresh pastries greets you the moment you walk in. The seating area is also bright and inviting. I ordered a drip coffee, the Beesting Latte, the Caramel Latte, and an avocado toast with tomato. While the food and drinks were fine, I’m not sure I’d return. Parking was difficult, the prices felt high for what was offered, and most importantly, the staff struggled to explain the menu or answer questions I had due to my dietary restrictions. I usually don’t write reviews unless I’ve visited a place multiple times, but in this case, I won’t be going back. With so many other bakeries and coffee shops in the area, I’d rather spend my time elsewhere.

We visited Sunday Morning Bakery last Sunday, and it was packed! It was hard to find a seat, but luckily, a super kind lady gave up her table for my friend and me (huge thanks to her — she was so nice! 💕). For the pastries, we loved the croissant the most. We also tried the matcha croissant — the filling was delicious, not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the crispy, flaky layers. That’s a solid 10/10 from us! The tuna croissant salad was also amazing — another 10/10. If you’re a croissant fan, this is definitely the place to check out. The strawberry jelly donut wasn’t really our taste. We liked the filling, but the donut texture wasn’t quite what we prefer. As for the drinks, we were a bit disappointed. If we could suggest something — we’d love if the latte wasn’t pre-mixed. We prefer seeing that beautiful milk and espresso layer. The staff looked super busy and working really hard, but we hope they can get a bit more help — especially for cleaning and customer service.

Really cute coffee shop! They’re going to get great foot traffic from the apartment buildings around and Mitre across the street. The prices are pretty reasonable. The place is minimal and pretty. It gets very noisy. The acoustics make everything echo, so please note it’s not good for working. I was on a work call and they could hear everything. This spot is good to grab a coffee/pastry solo or with a friend, not a good work spot. I do think they need the coffee menu near the register. They didn’t have what I wanted and I had to keep moving to look at the menu again. The avocado toast was really fresh and delicious. My coffee was solid. My friend really liked the breakfast sandwich, was her second time getting it! And I did get a pumpkin donut to go which I heard is amazing! Excited to try when I get home. Overall really solid place!

We came here on Sunday afternoon and bought six pastries (e.g., almond croissant, matcha croissant, apple croissant, banana bread with chocolate chips, coffee cake?!). The pastries were all pretty good. The staff was a bit slow (they took a while to put a stamp on the box & assemble the box…) I believe they will get much more efficient after the store opens for a while. Would love to come back and check it out soon!

An overall good experience. Unfortunately only service animals allowed and no outdoor seating. You offer at the counter and can just grab any table. The matcha lemonade was great! And the breakfast sandwich was pretty good too.

It’s an alright bagel place. the cinnamon raisin bagel I got was pretty good, the service was faster than I expected and the quirky atmosphere was fairly charming. My only major complaint is the inconvenient location. It’s in a little shopping center that’s Kinda hard to get to and not really close to much else. Also it’s really small and absolutely crammed into its tiny retail space. Other than that it’s alright.

I’ve been meaning to try Call Your Mother in Dc but never got around to it so I was very happy they opened closer to me in McLean! My friend and I went around 10:30/11am on a Saturday and there was a fairly long line. The line goes pretty fast but we did have to wait about 20-30mins for our bagels. Definitely longer than you’d expect at a bagel shop. BUT very good quality bagel sandwiches—we were very satisfied. We got the pizza bagel and the thunderbird. The truck is super cute. I would go back as I think they have the best bagel sandwiches I’ve had but I definitely wouldn’t go when I’m starving because I’d anticipate a wait.

Bagels were just alright. Don’t expect a Jersey or New York bagel. The bagels are easily half the size of what you get in the Tri State area. The prices are insane…lunch for 4 adults and 2 kids was $90.

Came here bc of tik tok. Such a cute place. There was a line, we waited around 15 mins and took around 10 min to get the food. There are a good amount of tables to sit but 4/6 are without shade, which is terrible when it’s hot and sunny or rainy. They ran out of lemonade around 1pm. I got the Mountain View, it was delicious. My husband got the Thunderbird and he thought it was good too. He said he was still hungry after he finished so I guess it’s not that filling. Overall I think it’s a good spot to get brunch.

Pretty good bagels! The Thunderbird was delicious though I agree with others’ reviews that the bagel could be toasted more/crispier (it was soft, edging on soggy), and that there could be more heat to balance out the honey. It was also missing something to give it an extra pizzazz - maybe a quince jam or something pickled/tart?

Bacon Sun City on a maple salt & pepper bagel, no charge for substitution. Made to order. Took to go and came home still piping hot. No line on a Wednesday afternoon. If there’s a line prepare to wait bc like we said Made To Order. Adorable food truck and fun packaging. Some mysterious pink sprinkles in bag but nothing with sprinkles ordered. The bagels are soft and fresh. Fun if passing by and not near your usual fav neighborhood shop like Manhattan or Bodos.
