The tempura is alright, not bad but not amazing. I’d get it if I was in the area but wouldn’t drive out here for it. It’s not too crispy which I like but it gets crowded and I wouldn’t wait a long time for it. It is pretty cheap though. Cost ¥430 for 2 fish, 1 Squid, and 1 shrimp tempura.

The tempura was cold, oily, not crispy at all. The tempura batter was so thick. Any tempura shop is better than this. It's definitely overrated.

Very small restaurant and exclusive as it's located away from main roads in the farming area. Near Okinawa World and sells limited soba pork Belly variety. Soup broth is light and comfort good food for us. Seated on floor which is difficult for some and elderly.

Stopped by here after visiting Okinawa world in the morning on the way to the peace museum. Limited menu but options are all quality. Side dishes are really good as well. Also pineapple juice was excellent. Out of the way place but well worth the trip to sample some traditional fare in a quaint, pleasant atmosphere.

Tasty okinawa soba noodles at reasonable price. Recommend to come by if you are near Okinawa World.

Amazing noodles!!! The broth is wonderful and the seaweed is delicious. I really enjoyed the seaweed tempura too. I think one of the nicest thing about this restaurant is the location. You can eat inside or outside. The outside looks like canteen seating and is still covered, so you can eat casually while enjoying the ocean breeze, rain or shine.

Mozumi Soba 3.5 Okinowan Soba is really good completely different from the rest of JAPAN the Soba is thick and chewy like a cross between Raman and Udon. They serve it with Tougarashi Amamori (Chilies in local spirit). This place was hidden away in the South and popular with locals, not the best one I tried but pretty good.

Best tempura ever and totally deserving of the high rating on Google review. It was so good that we went back to order more. Faves were the squid and somewhat surprisingly for me since I love meat, the veggie tempura. They only serve tempura. No noodles or anything else. And they seem to be making it to order because it came out HOT. I bought the sauce but in the end, liked it better with just the free seasonings which you add yourself. Plenty of salt on top of the crispy tempura = YUM. There was a crowd but it’s really worth the wait. Mix of tourists and locals so it isn’t just some random tourist trap.

We’re flexitarians so found it fine, but a warning: the green bean tempura includes ham (or ours did anyway) and we think the seaweed one may have had katsuoboshi. Still delicious though! Mixed seafood sushi rice and Sashimi are also being served, overseas visitors may like them very much. Overall wonderful quality and all the dishes are skillfully made. I think the lunch represent better value than the 2000 yen breakfast. The lunch buffet is 2400 yen only, the food is perfect, also with amazing sea view and farm view. Will come again next time.

During our stay at Yuinchi Hotel Nanjo, we had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Restaurant Sunpeer—and it turned out to be one of the better hotel breakfasts we’ve had. What made it extra memorable wasn’t just the wide variety of dishes (both Japanese and Western), but the spectacular panoramic views from the dining area. With huge windows looking out over Nanjo’s rolling hills and lush greenery, every bite felt even more enjoyable. The buffet had something for everyone—from fresh fruit, soft pastries, and made-to-order omelettes to warm miso soup and perfectly seasoned grilled fish. The kids loved the selection, and we all left feeling fueled and content for the day ahead. The peaceful ambience, friendly staff, and breathtaking scenery made for the perfect start to each morning. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a moment to slow down and truly take in Okinawa’s beauty.

Maybe we went on an off day, but for the price the amount of selection was not worth the price your paying. Went for dinner and got a steak, sashimi, and cooked seafood dish that was not part of the buffet so you couldn’t order more. The rest of the buffet was disappointing with less then 20 dishes that where cold event for the suppose hot dishes.

Went for a stroll down some side streets (100% recommend) and found Tacorice! Thought we’d stop in for dinner since we were starving after 50,000 steps, twenty thousand arigato’s and my back aching from bowing so much. I LOVE the food so much so that I’m going to try my hand at it when I get back to Aus. For two people’s meals it cost $34 Australian dollars which is so good in price imo. I don’t know how Japanese people make western food taste way better than western food?? The nuggets are to die for!

Wow!!! The TacoRice House is incredibly delicious. Tacos are one of my favourite foods and when I arrived in Okinawa I was so excited to try the local speciality, im so glad I came here first. I think it is going to be hard to top this deeply satisfying meal. Everything about the dish was perfect, the staff were super friendly and the vibe is like an authentic beach house. I highly highly recommend you try the taco rice house while visiting Okinawa!!!

We had 1 large "half and half" and 1 small "original". The food was great! The lady was still learning so service was a bit hard but she's trying! Highly recommend the place even if it's a literal hole on the wall!

We had a confirmed lunch reservation and even planned our whole day around it, coming all the way from Chatan. When we arrived, we were greeted by a sign saying the taco meat was sold out and they’d reopen at 16:30, even though our reservation was for 14:00. OMG !! What an amazing place~ there are so many great hidden places in Okinawa. And this one is one of my top ten places in Southern Okinawa. I made two visits in one day both in the morning and late afternoon before they close the cafe. And I really loved the every moment that I’ve been here. Hmmm coffee and the food were just so so not particularly good ones but the view from the cafe makes you forgive everything. Even though your start the day bad you will forget what happened as the moment as you sit down nearby the window and sip the coffee. You definitely need a car to get there like I said “ this is a hidden place” 🫶😏

This is a wonderful place to stop and snack. The menu was kinda limited but the teas that we got were unique and delicious. The "french toast" was good. When you come here you come here for the ambience and the relaxation feeling. They have seating both inside and outside right on the beach which is clutch. There is a super friendly cat that adds to the hospitality and charm of this place as well. =P Definitely come and check this place out if your in the area. When I cam there seemed to be plenty of parking.

A nice cosy cafe near Okinawa World! Not to miss! It has a fantastic view of the ocean and the Chicken set is super delicious, every morsel is an experience. It is like fine dining but at reasonable price! Best of all, the folks there are super warm, their service is superb!

Let me first of all say that the cakes are absolutely delicious! Definitely the highlight of our visit. The view is the second highlight. The cafe has an unobstructed panorama on the beach and water. It's breathtaking. Now for the lesser parts of our visit. First off, when we arrived, we were told to pick any table we liked. We sat there for a few minutes kind of confused, waiting for a menu, debating if we had to order at the counter. I eventually walked up to the front where I was ignored for a whole minute before I said "excuse me can I have a menu" and only then was given one. The weird part about the menu is that before 14:30, they have a limited mains menu. Only steak, grilled chicken, omurice, chicken curry and maybe 2 other things. Only after 14:30 can you apparently order from the full menu that includes the pizza and pasta. Kind of weird and disappointing.. We picked the steak and chicken plates. It took quite a long time for them to come out of the kitchen considering the only thing that needed to be cooked on the spot was the meat. Presentation-wise, the dishes looked great. Sadly, my steak had already mostly gone cold. For 3000 yen, it was also a pretty small amount. We decided to order cake for dessert to try and make up for our experience so far, and I'm glad we did. Their cakes tasted delicious! On another note: our plates never even got cleared and no one checked in with us the entire time we were there. I had to go back to the counter to get the server's attention to order desserts. I would want to come back here to try their pasta or pizza and I hope that when I do, the service might also be better. It seemed like they were understaffed even though there were only 4 tables while we were there. Lack of customer-orientation and clearing of tables was apparent to everyone there. And for the prices they charge, it should be better.

This is our first meal when we touch down to Okinawa and it’s the best meal with great view of the sea! We had some difficulties find this place and half way there we notice there were signs directing you there and there a map at one of the sign teaching you how to get there! Do know that when you google for directions to the restaurant instead your should google directions to the car park which is 山の茶屋 楽水 駐車場. As you need to climb up a fleet of staircase before reaching the restaurant and it is up a small hill. When we reach the restaurant it was half filled and most of the customers were local. We were the only tourist there! The menu had limited choices but I must say the food prepared and served was filled love and passion! The food were very tasty and delicious! You can tasty the freshness and that the cook put in a lot of effort the make the food for us! The dessert were yummy! Even though the staff do not know English we manage to communicate with them. You have to remove your shoes when you enter and climb a short stairs. We did not make any reservations as we reach at about 12:30pm. At about 1pm the seats along the windows were filled. It was such a relaxing lunch that did not want to leave this place! When we paid for the bill the boss gave us two postcards which was really kind of her! The food served there are vegetarian and so if u would like to try local vegetarian food with a nice view I would highly recommend this restaurant!

My family had a lovely meal at Yama-no-chaya Rakusui in the summer of 2023. After the meal, we had to grab a taxi back to our hotel. The staff kindly tried to help us; however, many taxi companies would not come up the mountain. We were not sure why, but perhaps it was because it was during most hotel’s check-in time. We were stuck up on the mountain with no way of getting back, especially in the super hot weather outside. The owner of the restaurant could tell that we were starting to worry as we were stranded. She called her son and asked him to drive us back to the hotel, which was 10 minutes away. It was so nice of them to help us out. We tipped him the normal taxi fare, which he refused to take. We thanked him again and left the tip in the car’s cup holder as we bade him farewell. Thank you for your kindness!

It is run by the wife of a local artist who past away and his paintings are hung all over the restaurant. You can them if you want to purchase a painting. Really cool spot. There is cafe run by the same people right down the road.

Possibly the best restaurant I ate at in Okinawa. They serve organic vegetarian food. I went for the set meal and it was really tasty. I can recommend one of the seats by the window as you can enjoy a stunning view of the coast while eating. Don't forget to check out the hillside garden behind the restaurant. It was designed by the owner and leads up to a viewing platform with a commanding view of the coast. I was also fortunate enough to spend some time talking with the owner who was a lovely man and passionate about Okinawa. Great experience and highly recommended.

Yoooo, this is great awesome restaurant on where it is located. The view is amazing can go on a nice walk before and after your meal. I had the shrimp curry/white rice with a strawberry 🍓 lassie. The shrimp curry and rice was good, it has a sweet and spice taste to it but missing some flavor that actually catches. Strawberry 🍓 lassie was on point. j still need to go back and try some different dishes tho. I would recommend this place 🙌🏾

The lassi was fine but again something I would not come back for. Parking: They have a big free parking lot.

The view and location was the best seller for us today unfortunately.

If you’re looking for grade A Okinawa sashimi topped with umibudo (sea grapes) this is it! We were so full and happy after this meal I will never forget it! Even though it was packed they served us pretty quick. Make sure to sit on the tatami matts Indian style just for the vibes :)

As a Chinese, I always can’t help to taste Thai food in anywhere I’m traveling around the world. Accidentally I found this little Thai restaurant when I was near by, but it still took me a while to find it by following google map, since it’s nestled in a ordinary residential area in Nanjio City. The interior is traditional Thai style, and plying Thai music by which you feel being taken to Thailand 😄 Mama is dressed in traditional Thai costumes, looks nice and beautiful. 🌹I thought I ordered big volumes of food at first but I finished it all at the end, no even a single bite was left 😆 it’s not like the kind of fancy cuisine but just like the love taste of family. ขอบคุณค่ะ!

as a singaporean, this is the most authentic thai restaurant on island! none of their dishes are tweaked to cater to the locals and I LOVE IT!!!! places like these are just almost impossible to find here. when i saw that fluffy, fragrant jasmine rice i just knew it. ordered the pad thai, stir fried beef salad and spring rolls. all of them were super delicious. and the spring rolls had glass noodles in it 💯💯💯 just remember to bring cash as it’s cash only! definitely will return again 😊

Inside provides about 30 seats comfortably. The atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly and prompt. The serving size is acceptable. While all the dishes tasted good nothing was particularly amazing. Also, compared to many local restaurants the pierce is a bit above average. There is no kids menu. Overall it's a nice place with a unique flavor.

The hotel is impressively large, consisting of several interconnected buildings. One section of the complex is dedicated to sports facilities, including a gym and a squash court. Unfortunately, these close as early as 7 PM, so I wasn’t able to use or even see them during my stay. Additionally, the swimming pool—advertised on the booking website—was closed for maintenance, without any prior notice provided. Overall, the complex gave me the impression that its infrastructure has aged considerably. This was especially noticeable in the onsen and sauna areas, which seem to have gone over a decade without any significant renovation. Though the space features large windows that could potentially offer pleasant views, they were fogged up and covered in condensation, making it hard to see outside. A closer inspection also revealed visible rust throughout the area. The room interior, while not modern, appeared to have been refreshed more recently than the public facilities. It was fairly spacious and included a terrace and a bathtub in the bathroom. However, it was poorly ventilated—likely due to an outdated air system. Upon entering, we were met with a noticeable unpleasant odor, probably caused by high humidity and insufficient air circulation. Unfortunately, the provided room spray did little to help. Personally, a bad smell in a hotel room is a deal-breaker, and I would have left if there had been other options available that night. Another downside was the thin walls, which made it easy to hear neighboring guests. On a positive note, there is a bar area where guests can enjoy free coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages and cookies which was a nice touch. The hotel wasn't exactly close to anything. So unless you have a car you need to use public transport. I would have wished for some entertainment near by.

Oh man what an incredible experience coming to this hotel! We did EVERYTHING! The SPA was amazing and refreshing, really rejuvenated the soul. The indoor pool area was accommodating for me as I had to cover my tattoos to participate. The staff for the recreation areas such as the sports zone, horse back riding and ATV (Buggy) as well as the concierge at the front desk were simply wonderful and kind. The restaurant on the 2nd floor was so much fun and despite it being super packed everytime we visited it, we had plenty of time to stuff our faces and enjoy all the delicious foods and drinks available. 6th deck lounge was a great evening spot as well for getting a drink or 3 and enjoying the evening lights of Nanjo City. I couldn’t have asked for a better time.

If you’re looking for a quiet and chill staycation, I would recommend checking out The Yuinchi Hotel. The rooms are quite spacious, the staff are very nice and friendly. And tthey have spa, sports center, indoor swimming pool and buffet style restaurant that we enjoyed a lot. My husband and I especially enjoyed playing some racket sports and we got to reserve a private onsen just for the two of us for a very affordable price. It was a very nice experience 👍🏻 Make sure to check out the buffet restaurant, we went there 3 times during our stay there. And if you’re going with friends, then make sure to reserve a karaoke room and have fun! A lovely staycation even on a rainy day 😊

This Hotel resort has plenty of activities do do on the property but is very far from Naha. The hotel has an onsen free for guests, a pool indoor and outdoor, a restaurant, atv rentals and horseback riding. There is a bus stop across the street at city hall but there is plenty of free parking if you have a car. The one downside to this hotel is they do the eco clean thing where they only come in and clean your room once.

It's in a beautiful location, the view from the room and the bath is incredible, and the 6th floor lounge is a great place to unwind and enjoy some treats. Sadly, the hot spring bath house next door still requires tattoos be covered. It's 2025. People of all walks of life have tattoos and don't cause problems, but are still required to cover up.

Great traditional room I booked but forgot to check if there is shower room. Nothing much nearby the hotel to walk and explore. It's a great quiet and nature place to relax around the hotel. Lawson about 1km away. Later on found out the hotel do have convience store too The buffet is pretty good for the lunch and dinner. Btw the hotel do have horses around, so cool. Didn't have a chance to eat because of Cafe time was happening. Dinner wasn't being served, only French toast and small meals. Location is out in the countryside but menu looked good and the view of the Ocean is great too. Hopefully I can make it back to taste the food. Small parking area which is shared with a French Restaurant called 1663.

Great view. The menu is outdated, most of what is advertised on the menu is not available. We were told we could order off the cafe menu or the dinner menu but not both. The cafe menu had a curry set for the kids for 800yen including salad soup and drink, the dinner menu had the same kids curry for 800yen but no salad, soup or drink. No English dinner menu, you have to order off of QR code but no English option.

Very delicious food - I was wandering if I should to order soup with the whole chicken but the meat was soft. My rose drink had some rose petals inside and smelled like a real rose. I recommend you to come here in the evening to enjoy beautiful night view on the city.

A friend recommended Pizza Kissa Mimoza -no-ki to me, truly a good friend! This shop is a little out of the way and tricky to find. I highly recommend google maps the first time you go here!! I included some photos of the outside so when you see the signs you know you're there. The days of operation are a bit abnormal for westerners so pay attention: Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and the day BEFORE national holidays. They are open from 10-6, with last orders at 5pm. And now for the pizza... As you can see from my and many other's photos these pizzas have a lot of cheese. The 'toppings' are actually under the cheese, BUT this allows them to add a nice crust to the cheese itself! I had the Mimosa Pizza which is (red, yellow and green) peppers, onions and Okinawan pork. I would have liked to have a little of the pork on top for the aroma, but it was still delicious! The dough is just thick enough to to add texture to each bite. Sometimes with this much cheese, the dough tends to be under-cooked. But NOT here, it was spot on! There is a Mixed Pizza as well - I'll have to try that the next time I go back... and i will go back! The menu is simple: two pizzas (sm. & med.), a pasta dish, a salad and an assortment of desserts. There are a variety of drinks and juices also non-alchohol beer and Orion beer to choose from. Everything is tasty! They do have take out (+ 100 yen for the box). They also have an English menu available upon request. Owner Katsuhiro Yamaniha and the staff don't speak English, but make up for it with great food and service! You can see Yamaniha-san in one of the photos outside as he proudly showed me around the neighborhood. I recommend going on a nice sunny day so after (or before!!) the meal you can wander around the streets. There are lots of shops or places to check out with 5 mins. walk from the restaurant. It is hilly so have your walking shoes. Speaking of hilly, this brings me to the view and why a clear sunny day is best... THE VIEW IS AMAZING!! Though the photos might not show it; the counter overlooking the ocean is glassed in so you are nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer! A bonus for Okinawa. Cats are the highlight to this cafe, as well as the good coffee and cakes. It could benefit from more cake and food options. The cats are well taken care of. Would have liked a bit more engagement with the owner to feel more relaxed in the environment, especially as we were cautious about what we could and couldn't do. The furniture felt homely but a bit too lived in and could do with updating a few things to improve cleanliness. Overall enjoyed it and would return for the cats!

I would say the best cat cafe we’ve went to so far compared to the ones we’ve been to in Tokyo and Thailand for the reason that the cats are loving and not aloof with people. Thank you for opening a part of your home to us! Think their oldest cat is 18yo so you know that they are in a such good home!!
