We had a small get together at this restaurant and it was a blast! The steak was good and omg, the shrimp was packed with real shrimp instead of bread. It was amazing!!

This is the 3rd Big Heart Steak House I've visited in Okinawa. As usual, the prices were right and the steaks were juicy tender. Parking here was much easier than at other locations. Ample parking is provided in a lot across the street and if, you're lucky there is some parking under the building. The restaurant is on the second floor so, there's some shade for your vehicle if, you arrive early enough. Staff are polite and friendly and service is expedient. It is a family friendly restaurant though, handicapped may have difficulty navigating the stairs.

This is our go-to stop. When we want to have a quick lunch or dont want to cook. They are fast, and the food comes out delicious every time.

Great and accessible view point! This view gave me the kind of feeling like “ahhh, looks like Okinawa” lolol. Cliffs, beaches, blue waters and exotic plants. Got myself some ice cream from the salt factory next to the parking right after. What a great feeling! Parking was free and it seems like there was a wheelchair accessible path too?

The drive across the bridge to the island was lovely. Upon arrival drive slow through the small roads as they are blind corners. There is a parking lot (free) outside the salt factory. You'll find 2 walkways up to the overlook. There are a few stairs not too many. It is wheelchair accessible if you take the gravel entrance. There are several places to stand to see different areas. You can see the small beach below and kayakers and surfers in the water. The views are magnificent and when there's a breeze it's even better. Oh the way back stop by one of the roadside beaches before the bridge.

Beautiful spot to oversee the cliffs and beaches. It’s worth to walk the 209 meter to the sightseeing point to get the best view. The restaurant serves local food and drinks.

Absolutely breathtaking location. Rich natural beauty and stunning views all around. There is free parking near the location and a couple short trails. The drive in is also very fun, and gives you good insight to the countryside. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see this rich beauty for themselves. Absolutely spectacular.

Great place if you want to take a rest. Pool is bit small but deep enough to enjoy. Really nice chinese restaurant and very kind staff. Rooms are clean, parking lot right in front of your room. Quite, great view, near from everywhere in Okinawa. Shuttle bus to Renaissance resort in every 1 hour. What can you ask more than that?

It was a bit difficult to find the place. The dim sum was good, along with the breaded mayo shrimp that is only served once. The chinese bun for dessert was great and the acerola/aloe jelly. You don't have to stay here to enjoy their lunch, but you do need to make reservations.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the experience was so memorable! They have amenities like a tennis court, karaoke room, swimming pool and great view points overlooking the ocean and the city. The staff are well mannered and extremely courteous. Would definitely stay here the next opportunity we get!

I have gone to the restaurant for dim sum and hot pot. Dim sum for lunch was 5/5 - it was enjoyable, service was great, food was delicious. Unfortunately, our hot pot experience for dinner was completely opposite. The food was fine, but the service was incredibly off that day. I will definitely be back, but highly recommend the dim sum over the hot pot option.

Consistently great dim sum. Nicely sized buffet of soup, salad, and teas. Menu for the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet (90 mins) is slightly confusing - on the menu 1 piece of dim sum or shu mai comes unless you specify wanting more than 1 piece.

Makan makan restaurant: been hare quite a few times. Food is really good 5/5. Both lunch and dinner is great! I’ll definitely recommend hotpot in dinner. Breakfast is also very good with ample of options. Stay: well, for me it’s and average room with good facilities. Bed is very comfortable. Soap and shampoo is of very good qualities. You can get all the amenities for free. I’ll give 3/5.

Fabulous dim sum restaurant if you are craving it. They only accept Yen, but the prices are comparable to the amount of food you will be enjoying. We purchased the "all you can eat" dinners and did not leave empty bellies. To avoid wasting food your waitress will pass food menus each time you want to order. You place a number, correlating to the number of pieces of whatever it is you want, next to the food item and it will be delivered. So, just in case you didn't like the pork buns you aren't wasting an entire plate of them.

I wasn’t expecting much for tacos in Okinawa. If it was better than Taco Bell then I would be happy. So I ordered the four tacos with cheese and to my surprise they weren’t bad! It had a ton of lettuce and a full tomato slice that threw me off but the meat was tasty. My favorite part was the taco shell, it was incredibly tasty and had a great crunch. If I could do it all over again, I’d bring my own sour cream, Taco Bell hot sauce and call it an Emperor Taco!

Located in between the White Beach Naval and Heshikiya Port. This taco spot serves it up. There is a ticket machine upon entry with photos so you can order your meal. Once you get to the counter the lady will take your ticket, ask questions about things you would not like on your item, and give you a pickup number/ticket. When it’s time for pickup you’ll collect your item to either eat on premises or take away. The ladies are the cutest and a very well working group. From order to pickup I would say it was about a 15-min wait. This time included 2 prior orders as well.

Overpriced! For 4 tacos it went from 700 yen to 800 yen to 1000 yen in a short time. This is just greed and I won't be going back. There a much more affordable option for tacos near courtney.

I loved it! The vending machine made ordering a breeze, and the staff were very friendly! The tacos were delicious. I only stopped for a snack, but next time I'll definitely order more! Also, check out the farm behind the store. Very scenic and relaxing.

I lived in Tokyo 20 years ago. We remember some very broken Japanese. So we are visiting our friends in Okinawa. They are talking about Okinawa Taco Rice, and asked if ever had the Okinawa Taco Rice. So delicious we would specially drive back just to eat their soba again! Had to order an extra portion of their agedashi peanut tofu becauze it was so good! They have an English menu so we had no problem ordering food. 10/10.

Amazing food!!!! Might be the best thing we ate on our whole trip. Such a vibe, old school traditional seating with lovely garden aspect. The staff are so lovely and kind, with exceptional service. A 100% must visit. ☺️

We are staying in Onna and decided to go to this restaurant for lunch. Totally worth the drive. The cosy atmosphere was as perfect as the soba sets. We had a warm welcome and the service was excellent. A fantastic hidden gem!

The restaurant is located at the old house in Hamahiga Island, and there are restaurant's road signs which indicate direction, parking and restaurant location. Restaurant owner tries to maintain classic decoration in simple but stylish for the restaurant's tatami dining area too. The restaurant offers simple but tasty soba meal set in winter; it has 3 options for the winter season, and pork-based soba seems to be one of the favorites. Pork-based soba has sliced pork, diced pork, sliced shiitake mushroom, and stewed pork intestine as major topping, and it comes with vegetable and sweet dessert plus seasonal fried dish, such as peanut cake. The owner can command English and some other foreign language to help non-Japanese customers and is extremely busy to function also as a waiter and bus boy in winter season. While there is NO waiting time for winter season, the restaurant has quite a long waiting time from spring to fall season, especially when weather is good. The restaurant has its own parking lot.

This place is wonderful and absolutely delicious! There is a menu, you have to go to the side door and ask for it, and it does have English on it. The prices for set meals are very reasonable. I didn’t see anything on the menu that was over 600 yen. Yen only.

Good selection, friendly staff. I sat outside at one of a few tables, they have a small garden area with tradition seating. My order came quickly. I got the stirfry and an order of dumplings.

Nothing much to see, a bit small. There is a souvenir shop with salt specialty for sale. I reckon most people take it as a lunch spot after visiting the Oodomari Beach. The restaurant is nice though, sufficient variety of food of good quality. The view around is spectacular.

A long way to drive to get there. Sadly when we got there, we were informed it’s under maintenance therefore unable to see anything. We were only able to watch a video to learn about the process of getting and making the salt. Nevertheless it is pretty interesting. As it’s raining and windy, didn’t managed to walk to the look out point. There’s a cafe on the second floor whereby u can buy & try salt soft serve ice cream.

The location is rather lucky, right next to the Kafu Banta with a free parking lot, on the way to Ikei island, makes a good stopping point for a break or for lunch. The salt soft serve was good! They sell silver souvenirs and of course their salt as well. I think the factory was under construction when I visited so didn’t get to see much but still pretty alright.

Not much to observe if you are foreigners coz everything is in Japanese. Staffs didn’t care when we were there looking for the factory tour. Finally we were end up enjoying our salt ice cream. What the point to drive here just for ice cream 😅 If you are not in the area, you can skip this place.

Sadly very disappointing destination. The "tour" is walking outside and learning how the brine is pumped up to the factory - not amazing. There's a few windows to look down at laboratory type workers slowly moving things from one place to the next, nothing to see there and barely worth the effort to tilt one's head down to look. However we came for the Cafe and ice cream! P But no. That part of closed. No indication online that I saw to indicate there wouldn't be anywhere to sit and enjoy some ice cream. The only thing that's open is the gift shop, which is very lackluster. The products I suppose were sodium in nature but were a mix of whole bunch of different things from all sorts of sellers. Tomato salt to biscuits to lumps of sugar with salt. There's a theme. So you're really just driving here to spend 5 minutes pursuing a Ho-hum gift shop. Not that the drive and viewpoint scenery aren't worth it...they are on their own spectacular. From a short walk of a very nicely manicured trail there's a lookout point. If you're going over here then this is real treat (when you can't have ice cream) with an amazing view. I would gave given it a 1 star but the view from the lookout managed to scrape in a second star. Parking lot is generously sized too if I had to say something else positive. Staff were friendly enough and it wasn't busy at least - no surprise there.

I always have a relaxed lunch here! I love the variety and the seasonal specials. The amount of sauces and seasonings available are great for customizing your nigiri. I always eat one piece plain to get the original flavor and the next with some sort of sauce.

Very crowded during busy times but the parking lot is vast so you shouldn't have to worry about that. If you want a table seat for up to 6 people at rush time it'll usually only take 5 to 10 minutes. Then you can order away to your hearts content. Food is very good for the price. Or party of 4 ate over 30 plates of nigiri and 4 bowls of ramen, we walked out splitting a $40 bill. Very inexpensive and delicious sushi. We always stop by here on our way back when we buy car parts from the Up Garage around the corner.

This branch can get very busy, even in weeknights. Highly recommend reserving a spot in line in advance. We went on a Thursday night at around 7pm and it was so crowded that even the waiting area inside was totally full. We waited for counter seats for about 30mins. However, the value is good even though prices have been raised at hamazushi across the board in recent years.

This place is really fun. You can either wait for something yummy to come rolling by or you can order on the screen. Great for trying new sushi rolls about which you're curious. You can also order drinks including beer, sake or shouchu; or coffee, tea, juices, sodas, etc. Some of the choices on the menu are great otsumami such as takoyaki or unagi nigiri. I always go when I'm visiting Uruma City.

Super yummy little sushi go round. The desert is not that great but the rest of the sushi is pretty good and super inexpensive. You can order on the screen in English and it is delivered via the go round. There’s hot tea at every table. Open the little canister, sprinkle tea in a cup and press the hot water spicket that’s on the table. It’s unlimited and free! You can pay via yen or credit card. They count the color of your plates at the end of your stay to calculate how much of what you have eaten.

This is probably the best meal we’ve had so far in Okinawa. We really enjoyed our date night here. We had a ¥5,000 per person full-course Japanese-French meal. It included an appetizer, salad, risotto, fish, bread, meat, dessert, and a drink. Everything was incredibly good. It’s omakase style—they only use local, seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes regularly. When we arrived, the chef and waitress were very friendly. Although the lady didn’t speak English, she tried her best to explain each dish to us, and we truly appreciated that. Overall, it’s not overly fancy, but I loved the cozy and warm atmosphere of the restaurant. They only accept cash. The road leading to the restaurant was a bit narrow. We’ll definitely be going back—highly recommended!

I had heard a little about this restaurant from my wife, who visited it with her friend. I had heard it was in a refurbished home, so I had low expectations. It was quaint from the outside, but once I entered I was in for a pleasant surprise. J' adore le BBR! C'est bon! The cuisine was magnifique!

This is one of a specific genre of restaurants in Okinawa which feel like (and maybe actually were) established during the American occupation in the late 60s/early 70s to cater to mostly American families and have literally not changed at all since then. There is just a certain "old Applebee's" vibe when you walk into one of the restaurants in this genre. That being said, the steak was well cooked and I like the complimentary corn soup.

The food was seasoned really well and the steak was super tender. Inside has a lot of room but the tables can be awkward if you’re there with 4+ people. For the price you can’t beat this place.

Love this place. I have been coming here for over 12 years at the time of writing this review. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very delicious. The staff is always so friendly and courteous. The steak is always cooked to perfection (medium rare for me). I would recommend this place to anyone. Will continue to come for many years to come.

For a semi fast food restaurant. Osaka osho was delish! Very kind (they have an english menu) and a soda bar for those who must have a soda with lunch, the gyoza were tasty. The ramens were okay. And the chahan was very good.

First time at this Thai spot, recommended by a friend. The staff was super friendly and welcoming! The food was okay—a bit sweeter than I am used to—but still enjoyable for a first visit. We had lunch after coming out of the Courtney gate, and it can get pretty busy with limited parking, so plan ahead. The atmosphere reminded me of a small mom and pop Thai restaurant when I was in Thailand. Recommended.

This place was clean and very serene inside. It is small but has about 4 tables. They serve stir fry noodles and pad thai as well. The appetizers and main dishes tasted great! Service was amazing as well. Accepts yen and card not sure about dollars. Will definitely be coming back!

Japanese-Thai, or Thai-Japanese, the flavors here are hard to define, but nothing close to “authentic.” The papaya salad was pretty, sitting in a bowl of liquid, but was much too salty, lacking any balance of flavors or nuance. The phad see ew looked unappetizing, but was the best dish of the evening, a bit salty but otherwise nicely flavored. Instead of the usual wide noodles in this dish, the restaurant uses small, round ones. The green curry was thin and watery, over salted, and lacked the coconut milk that makes Thai curries stand out. Service was friendly, parking plentiful (a couple buildings away), and facilities clean, but for Thai flavors, this is not the place.

The food was disappointing and far from authentic. The Pad Thai was salty and missing key ingredients like egg and chives, and the Som Tam lacked spice and flavor. No Thai condiments were offered. Feels more like Thai-inspired food for those unfamiliar with the real thing.

This place is conveniently located right outside the CC gate. There are a few tables inside and also seating outside. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by the cashier and placed our order. The food was quickly brought out to our table (booth seating) along with our drinks. The establishment was cozy and clean. There is parking right outside as well as a ramp easily accessible by a wheelchair. The bean tacos and the beef tacos were fresh tasting and delicious. Don't forget to add onion toppings. Taco sauce was the icing on the cake. Will be back.

Nice taco presentation, outdoor picnic tables are dog friendly. I ordered the 4 beef tacos and a medium coke it was 1,000¥. The meat could definitely use more seasoning and salt. The cheese used looks like a cut up piece of a slice of American cheese, it’s not shredded Mexican cheese. It was typical tasteless Japanese cheese. The hot sauce (it’s in a squeeze bottle on the food tray) gave a little bit of flavor and zing to the tacos. The hard taco shell was fresh & tasted great. The staff were very nice and the food came out very quickly. I’ll go back if I’m up in that area again.

Located outside Camp Courtney newly renovated gate. Casa Taco is an ok restaurant choice for tacos. We ordered drinks (nonalcoholic) and the chicken tacos. The chicken taco was seasoned but smaller than I expected. However, it was loaded with a decent amount of stuffing for the size. They have seating inside as well as a outside. Plus a adequate parking area.

I was stationed at Camp Courtney back in 2005-2007. This was my favorite place to eat. The spaghetti was my favorite thing on the menu. I know, strange that spaghetti at a Taco joint would be amazing. But to this day I want to go back just to order it again. Some day.

This is the closet Mickey Ds to my home in Uruma. They speak a fair decent amount of English. But I would suggest as Americans we learn some basic phrase so we can we better stewards! If they don’t understand you can alway speak slower so they can pick up on some of your words better. Also they have menus at the register where you can point to if all else fails. The people of Okinawa are very nice and friendly so no need to be aggressive. The food was great; when our apple pie wasn’t ready they let us know it’ll be 5 min and we would need to wait in the spot. They also bought our pie to us when it was done. They have seasonal additions to the menu as well so try those on to see if you’ll like.

New Years Day the line was all the way to the road, both order lanes completely full. The staff did such an amazing job and we were out of there so fast! I am seriously impressed.

This was the first time for me to stop by this location and it was somewhat disappointing. The fries were lukewarm and the burgers were the same. The McDonalds in Chatan is much better in my opinion. But maybe this location was just having an off day? It was ok but not great. Luckily there are several McDonald’s locations throughout the island.

What a sweet little restaurant! Our Japanese friend Natsu-san called ahead to make sure we could get a vegetarian meal. We had a delicious pasta with tomato and vegetable sauce and bread. The vegetables were home grown. The only thing I would change is to have more vegetarian options.

The chef was out front talking with someone, and then walked up to my window after I had parked my car, wanting to see if I wanted to eat at his café. Chiruguwa Misato Okinawa City, Okinawa Today we had dinner at a soba place near our home. 8 minutes away, this place gives a wide variety of sets and all includes their famous Okinawa soba noodles. Me and my food buddy Alex Torres had the yummy set which included fried rice, a mixed tempura bowl, soba noodles and some pickled pigs feet ( which we did not eat), and pickled carrots and radish. Although it was not our favorite, we wanna make sure and try other Okinawa soba first just to see if that really is the flavor of Okinawa; for now we think it lacks flavor like soy sauce or maybe boil it a little longer with the meat bones. The pickled ginger on the side makes a perfect compliment with the rice. The mixed tempura was a slight disappointment as well, the shrimp was limp and the vegetables was soggy. They accept only dollar and yen.

Ramen was okay, not much flavor, and the gyoza could have been cooked longer. Service was good and the building was clean.

I love McDonald's just as much as the next person. However, I am unable to rate it 5-stars because of the fact that my french fries are almost always stale and cold about time I get to my house. Given, I only live 4 minutes away, 6 minutes if I am really unlucky. There were also a few occasions where they forgot to add a purchased order. This case is rare, though. They do not have a kiosk for ordering food you would just either have to go to the front counter and order or drive through. This is a well known fast food chain featuring fast food. We went there to try a Spicy Chicken Burger on a bun. One of the first things I noticed is a family friendly play room for children. The establishment was sparkling clean and staff were friendly and efficient. As with all McDonald's, stroller and handicap access is featured. My order was a takeout, arrived quickly and was still warm after half an hour ride home. The Spicy Chicken, wasn't as tangy as I expected but, had plenty of vegetables, was delicious and, I'd order the same meal again at my next McDonald's visit.

The butter rice was so rich and the meats were the tenderest I’ve ever had. I hope this business is there to stay so I can bring my friends and family there for special occasions. Came here for my birthday dinner and was absolutely blown away by the meat. Best steak I’ve ever had. Ever. I just kept saying “Yum!” It’s not cheap, but it’s pretty special. I really enjoyed the roast beef salad with Caesar dressing and the recommended plate with ramp and ishiban. It’s in a quiet neighborhood at night and not very busy so it was nice for a special date night.

The food at Yayoi is delicious! I especially love their soft rice! If you are American and have never tried Japanese rice, this would be a great place for you to venture out to. They have a wide selection of tasty dishes to try. They have a digital menu that has an English option. What more could anyone ask for?

First time trying Mos Burger. Really enjoyed the service. I chose the cheeseburger with jalapenos. The red sauce was a little sweet , which was a good combination with the jalapenos. Definitely would go again.

When I was stationed in Okinawa 40 years ago this was the best burger joint on the island. After 40 years in the states I retired here. The first thing I wanted was a moss burger. It did not live up to my expectations. It was an ok burger and the menu seems complicated. I will stick to A&W for my burgers.

Food was good, but we had to pull around and wait in the front for like 15 mins, so that was the only disappointing thing about this location.

To me this place is good but it needs to improve on taste. Burgers are a bit dry not enough dressing to my taste and it has a bit too much onions, I did not requests anything special just ordeed it as they serve it other than that they can be right on the money.

McDonalds seems to be McD's no matter where you go, even if a giga mac is on the menu. MosBurger actually taste like a burger. The Spicy Mos Burger is a great meal that doesnt make you feel guilty after. Great place to grab a quick bite.

This is from the Mr. donuts in the shopping mall and they just put out a Custard filled Pikachu doughnut and a chansey. Right next to there is this amazing bread place where they sit on fresh bread amazing and there’s also a grocery store.

My baby son love the mister donut mini's! If you are looking for Krispy Kreme, this is the closest thing, try the Honey Ring, tastes the most like a glaze. I recommend trying the minis before getting the full size donuts, especially if you are not use to Japanese donuts, the taste and texture is very different, neither bad nor better, just depends on the style donut you like.

Noodle is hand made in house too. Ive tried other places but this place has fresh ginger (ones i had were those pickled, bright red one) along with spring onion. The only down side was people smoke outside by the front door unfortunately. But definitely worth a try.

First time back in 7 years (I had left the island), and this place is still the BEST Indian food I’ve EVER had and you can’t beat the price. I love the garlic naan, vegetable curry and lassi. My husband always gets the chicken curry and says it’s delicious. My kids loved the kids curry set too! This is a must try if you’re visiting Okinawa.

Food was delicious! Recommend the chickpea curry or coconut chicken curry. But have been here multiple times and have not had an item I was disappointed in. I have seen comments about the staff being rude- can't say I've been treated that way. The staff was friendly, quick, and efficient every time. One thing I will mention is at times they don't play music and it can feel extremely quiet- but besides that no complaints!

This was by far the worst sushi-go-round experience I’ve ever had. The reservation system is a complete joke—we still waited more than 30 minutes past our scheduled time. The waiting area was cramped and uncomfortably hot. On top of that, the food came out painfully slow and tasted low-quality. I can’t believe I wasted two hours here for sushi-go-round.

Found this little gem on my walk through Ishikawa the other day. Their donuts are incredible! He makes really amazing cake donuts of various flavors!
