We had an omelette that came with cheese, bacon bits and veggies. It was tasty, however, it could have been cooked a little longer for it was a bit runny for our liking. The toast was pretty plain and unremarkable. They have a very limited breakfast menu by the way. We found their Sindhupalchowk Coffee way too bitter and below average. It felt like the staff did not provide us with enough milk we needed/ asked for to counter the bitterness of the drink. We paid about 700 rupees for those two items. We felt the place was pricey for what it provides. The overall ambiance of the cafe is relaxing, but I would probably not visit the cafe again.

The baked cheesecake here is amazing. However, the food doesn’t quite hit the mark, and the coffee lacks richness. A bit of a mixed experience overall.

Dhokaima Cafe has a warm, inviting vibe and a great selection of coffee. I loved the cappuccino it was rich and perfectly balanced. The pastries are a nice touch, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It does get busy, so seating can be tight, but it’s definitely worth a visit for a relaxing coffee break!

Good food, good ambience but a bit on the pricey side. Pizza is good. Brownie with icecream is a must-try dessert because their brownie tastes like none. Schezwan chicken chilly was average, got the taste of timmur and with a little crunchy texture.

I love this restaurant that one of my tour guides recommended and have had excellent food and service. They are off a side street so it’s quiet and not flooded with tourists. The hummus was delicious, the Nepali set meal incredible and their lasagna incredible. And prices are local. It is certainly worth the trip here!

An extremely overpriced place and not good food. We understand a place charging high but there wasn't any value for money here and the portion sizes weren't justified. We ordered 2 sandwiches grilled chicken - was extremely dry overcooked chicken, stale bread and zero seasoning/flavour. The vegetarian sandwhich wasn't good either, the lettuce wasn't fresh, very grainy bread. Only thing worthy was the coffee which was decent. Highly evaluate before visiting this place.

I recently visited the Gaia restaurant in Thamel. It is a hidden gem. Small but very relaxing environment with lots of greenery lol. It has a very good menu and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend the restaurant. Well done everyone

The only reason to visit this cafe was to locate the beginning of the Hippie Trail I read about in a book. Had a slice of apple pie (decent pie for the price). Honestly I didn’t get the good vibe as mentioned in the book and was disappointed with the smell and unclean interiors. Must have been a hip place in swinging 60s but now even it’s past glory is fading…

Definitely among the top bakery / pastry shop in town. While it is among the oldest cafe in Kathmandu, it still has its charm. The glavours unique and extremely delicious and the prices would say quite cheap per slide even today. A must visit indeed.

so I got this little Christmas cake from herman bakery and I tried small piece of the cake the other day, and today I am having sore throat. The cake tasted good but I think they have used cheap vegetable oil in the cake. Next time I will avoid buying their Christmas cake

Commercial bakery with decent options. Plus for me was the green lettuce and salad selection on their front. I went here couple of years ago and their food wasn’t pre packaged in plastics. It was experiential and the morning smelled like dough. But today the food is all packaged already. The commotion is overwhelming. Store setup has stuff everywhere but not sure what’s for sale and what’s their own stock. I liked the old Herman better. I hope they change or update the look to make it more homey as it originally used to be

With high hopes and much anticipation I finally visited this highly acclaimed establishment. Here is a detailed account of my experience. 1) Chicken Sandwich: The offering was exceedingly lackluster.The freshness of the ingredients questionable at best. The sandwich tasted as if it had been prepared days prior. The cured meat, ostensibly intended to resemble prosciutto failed miserably presenting itself in the worst possible way. Additionally, the quantity of meat was notably scant. The bread while passable, fell short of expectations for a bakery capable of made-to-order items. At Rs 400, it was vastly overpriced; it wouldn't even be worth Rs 40 in my opinion. The fact that meat and dairy products were left outside of a proper refrigeration system is a significant health hazard. 2) Lemon Soda: Priced at Rs 150, this beverage was merely acceptable. 3) Milk Tea: At Rs 100, the milk tea was decidedly mediocre. Conclusion: Although I might consider returning for the cake, my overall experience was very disappointing. The ordering process was confusing and inefficient, detracting further from the visit.

Disappointed with the taste from such a great place and for the first time ever. The cake was sour most probably you guys frosted an old piece of base. Didn’t expect that behavior from such a prestigious store.

I’m really disappointed with my recent order. I had clearly asked for an eggless butterscotch cake today when i called u, but got a different flavor—and now we’re not even sure if it’s eggless. I even confirmed it at pickup, but the staff didn’t seem interested in helping. Honestly, if it wasn’t supposed to be eggless, I wouldn’t have ordered from your bakery in the first place. But you completely messed it up. On top of that, your staff needs proper training—they were more busy chatting near the fridge than helping customers. Really disappointed. Won’t be ordering from you again.

Almost everything is sealed in plastic, the cozy chaos has turned into overwhelming clutter (can’t tell what’s for sale or just storage), and that dreamy morning dough scent is buried under fluorescent lights and commotion. The good: Their salad bar and greens up front are still crisp and fresh, and the baked goods taste decent (if you don’t mind wrestling with packaging first). But the charm’s gone. I miss the old Herman—the one that felt like a neighborhood secret, not another rushed, overstuffed bakery chain wannabe. Here’s hoping they remember what made them special and bring back the heart (and maybe ditch half the plastic while they’re at it).

Visited this bakery recently and was very disappointed with the service. I experienced extremely rude behavior from the staff, especially the auntie at the counter, who made my experience much worse; she was very rude. The items are overpriced, very expensive, and not worth it. They don’t even have a proper handwash facility. Will not recommend to anyone.

Visited this place today but not really authentic in my opinion. I had many types of gelato in the past but the texture was not right here. For the price as well, I don't think it is worth it. Back home in Canada I would get a larger cup and the quality is better.

There was nothing gourmet about it. They offer many flavours of Gelato. Even their special flavours were not good. Belgian chocolate flavor was terrible. If you never had Gelato and wanted to try one here then your idea of Gelato will be very bad. Avoid it if you can.

Did you think you could find Gelato in Lalitpur, Nepal? Well, I tried Amore and I have to say it's pretty legit gelato. I had the after eight which is a perfect mint chocolate chip, and the cappuccino which is a nice rich coffee (hey, it was buy 2 get 1 free.) My friend had one too, raspberry cheesecake. I sampled that one and almost got it.. The raspberry flavor is strong and a good compliment to the cheesecake.

Donuts were tasty especially i liked the butterscotch and kitkat flavored. I recommend these two if you are trying for first time. Later you can make a choice of yours and try the remaining.

Their donuts are incredibly fluffy, come in a variety of flavors, and are freshly made to order. A small cozy place. It has a beautiful view of the pimbahal pond. EDIT: I went here after almost a year or so and a lot has changed. The taste and quality of the fillings for their donuts have changed. I used to love their Choco bomb flavoured donut but it all seemed too runny today. I guess the owners have changed too. As a non-smoker, it was extremely annoying for me to sit there while eating because a lot of people were smoking. The inside seating space was reeking which made eating there very uncomfortable.

Tom n Jerry has always been my go-to bar growing up in Thamel! I love hanging out here—playing pool, meeting new people, backpackers, and anyone who wants to enjoy great cocktails. The vibe is casual, fun, and welcoming, making it perfect for both locals and travelers. Always a good time here!

It is certainly one of the best pubs in Kathmandu, especially in terms of vibes. Its old-fashioned decorations and customs are the main features. One thing that fascinated me the most is the way this pub encourages its customers to be a part of its memory by leaving mementos on the walls. Literally thousands of wall writing and t-shirts are the testimony of how much its customers are attached to it. If you pass through Kathmandu, do not forget to check in here.

We love this place. Have gone 3 times with groups of friends we meet around Nepal. Super great if you have friends you want to drink with in a place that’s quiet enough to talk. Two free pool tables, a bartender that lets you play music, more lowkey crowd than other places in the area. We’ll be back.

Really loved the place. Nice place to chill. They have two pool tables with a mind of their own. You will definitely enjoy playing there. Also you will get to know other backpackers who will challenge you for a game. Unfortunately me and my friend lost all of the games. Lol. But spent quality time there. The staffs were also nice and welcoming. They also have a large tv and we enjoyed arsenal vs man city in which arsenal lost miserably. Very cutely decorated small cozy place. They serve varieties of interesting healthy ice cream flavors. We got the hot chocolate drink which came with milk and separate chocolate chunks. We also got brownie with ice cream. It was delicious. Definitely a place to hangout for sweet treats.

Sweet fix has been my comfort place. I have tried almost every flavor and the loyalty card point they have is quite appealing. My favorite from here has been blackberry yogurt.

The popsicle are made from real fruits and has natural taste of them. Had tried Watermelon lime and Mini kiwi pop, even though watermelon was mixed with lime, it was sweet sweet 🤤 and kiwi pop was like a soury pop. Both were yum, so if you sweet lover, watermelon lime will be better and if you love soury, you can go with kiwi pop.

It is innovative given that they use real fruits inside the popsicle. But it is fairly expensive. They are handmade and they donate from their sales as well - Rs. 1 for every popsicle they sell, which seemed fairly low. The expensive price would have been justified if the donated amount was bigger as well. But it's definitely a new experience.

I love the differently yet uniquely flavored popsicles . Sweet tangy juicy and beautiful. These are just everything. You should try these once. Plus the interior is so aesthetic and commendable. You wont regret here. I have been trying different flavored popsicles everytime I drop by and boom! All of them super tasty.

I read about this place few days ago on social media. I read that their franchise burger is so juicy that they give you gloves to eat it. YES. It's true. The burger was soooooo juicy that your mouth would be watering. Lol. price was moderate. There was only one guy working there so he had to Handel every customer. I had to wait Abit but he was the only one working there. He was super friendly though 😊. Place is in a small corner so there isn't much place for huge crowd. Overall: 9/10

Came to this outlet with my 8 Yeats old son today (Saturday afternoon) . Quite surprised to discover that the outlet doesn't have ingredient for it's classic offering of Honey butter /maple butter (The very 1st menu item)!!!! Suboptimal experience..

We had two different experiences here. We had the honey butter waffles - so good. The waffles were crispy and yummy. We also had the pizza potato waffles. Avoid that at all costs. The potato was mushy and the toppings were just sauce that wasn't good at all. Stay away from the potato waffles and stick with the Belgian waffles and you'll be good.

They delivered me chocolate overload dark & triple chocolate- some of the most delicious Waffles I've ever had definitely deserved 5 stars. Quality of food worth the price. but, I was not expecting the delivery box is chargeable Looking forward to my next order/visit :)

We had the Rocky Road - the one with a chocolate-base waffle, ice-cream, oreos, and nuts. The nuts were in a powdery form (which defeats their purpose) and were sprinkled on top. Very expensive for someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth. Server was really nice. Place can seat a maximum of 8-9 people.

We were looking for Nepali kulfi. Instead they were just serving Vadilal ice cream bars. Utter disappointment. I don't understand how it got on top ice cream choices. Absolute hole in the wall, walking through congested streets. The religious relics in the square were pretty.

Really old and famous place to get homemade kulif and popsicles. Really affordable and perfect to place to cooldown on a summer day. Only negative is there is no proper place to sit so people usually sit around the stupa which cause a lot of plastic waste to be accumulated in the stupa area.

Excellent place for having home made ice creams (kulfi and popsicles). They do have many interesting popsicles flavours available and they tasted great. No place to sit, so you have to stand or accommodate yourself near the stupa, but make sure you throw your garbage in the bin and not on the floors. I personally don't recommend the strawberry flavour as it tasted like medicine, rest all flavours were excellent, especially tituara flavour popsicle, which is now my favourite.

This is a must try place for all the kulfi and baraf lovers. They have varieties of options. If you visit here, try their titaura kulfi which costs Rs 15 and is so tasty.

Must visit place for Kulfi and Icecream Lovers. We can get various varities of Nepali Kulfi and Popsicles along with some popsicles from Indian Brand like Vadilal and many more. The place is exactly behind Shree Gha: (Sigal) Stupa and is indeed a hidden gem. You can enjoy your Kulfi and Popsicles in peaceful stupa area. There are plenty of Dokos which are used as Dustbin in the area which is always a plus point as we need not go anywhere to find one to throw the popsicles stick once we are done.

The waffles were okay, not as soft as I'd hoped. I think the chocolate itself was pretty tasty but other than that, fairly typical. The place is very small as well and I think it's quite pricey considering the atmosphere and the taste.

Decent place for chocolate lovers. Even though I am not the one with sweet tooth but they have variety of choices. Their 'selfiecinno' (coffee with your photo on top) stands out among others. You can find the place quite easily as it is located inside the Boudhanath Stupa. You should give it a try if you like sweets, chocolates and coffees.

Just within the bouddha stupa area was chocolate wheels serving waffles, coffees and everything else to cherish your sweet tooth. The staffs were friendly and well mannered with a smile , the space was a little small and didn't seem enough considering the crowd. With best quality equipments for coffee, their interiors was good to provide the customers a feel good thing.

I recently tried Baje Ko Peda in Kathmandu , and it was disappointing. The taste didn’t live up to the hype, lacking the rich, authentic flavor I expected. In contrast, the real Baramajhiya Peda I had two weeks ago in Purba Baramajhiya was absolutely mouthwatering—fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The Kathmandu version fell flat in comparison. Rating: 1/5.

Ordered a cake for a birthday. Apparently they made a cake using readymade base which was dry and crumbly and spiced up with a lot of cinnamon. Rs 1000/pound seems like an good offer but I would rather spend more on a decent cake. I have 117 restaurant reviews verified by Google and all 5 star ratings here have 1-3 reviews only. Seems like paid reviews and fake ratings. I would never even give this bakery a chance.
