There serverd tasty food. We tried oy vegan options. All were yummy. They even customised pineapple fried rice with vegan. Staff is great.
Spoorthi S — Google review
I ordered the Pepes Ikan and it was delicious, even though it took pretty long to get the order delivered. But it might also because I tried to customize my order to a spicy one. My friends ordered grilled fish and they said it was dry. I tried the pumpkin soup and it was just okay. Service can still be improved, though.
Ade P — Google review
Disgusting food. We ordered the spaghetti and the chili fried tofu. They were both inedible. Tasteless slop. Clearly using frozen ingredients as everything was soggy. I wouldn’t even give it to a dog. Avoid this restaurant.
Ethan — Google review
I have eaten here several times over the past few years and the food is always excellent. Very good value with fast, friendly service. Add to that a cool sea breeze and window seat with a view, what more could you ask for? I very rarely rate restaurants with 5 stars but this place deserves.
Lisa E — Google review
The restaurant was done up in traditional Balinese style and has a good view of the calm bay with bobbing boats and nice sea breeze. The staff was friendly and accommodating. That’s what the two stars are for. Out of the 4 dishes that we ordered, only one person finished all her food. The club sandwich was relatively tasty but was soaked in mayo and fell apart from the first bite. The vegetarian fried rice noodles tasted like it has way too much msg and was really oily. The scrambled eggs was super dry and needed loads of ketchup to make it palatable. The only passable dish was the basil fried rice which had strange green hard bits of rice that looked uncooked. Relatively cheap but food is not great
The H — Google review
Finished our meals first then read some of these reviews. Why would anyone try to order pizza and burgers at an Indo resto? Ofcourse you can expect disappointment 😂 We had the chicken saté, rendang beef, and pepes fish and for dessert dadar gulung, a green crepe with coconut filling. All very tasty and nothing to complain about. Price was great as well. I recommend it!
Allan A — Google review
The food was great we ate there after our boat back from Gili T, probably one of the more reasonably priced and good establishment you will find around the pier area. Also the food was great and quick service. The toilets were clean so that's always a good sign. 😄
Oliver — Google review
We have lunch and drinks here. Mi goreng is ok. Chicken satay with rice is good. Nasi goreng is so so. Pineapple lassy is not that great. Mango soda and iced latte are good. This restaurant has parking lot and outdoor showering (can have more water pressure). The toilets will need a renovation.

Satay restaurant
Martini's Restaurant in Padangbai is a well-hidden treasure that offers an authentic Indonesian culinary adventure. This cozy local eatery radiates charm and friendliness. The cuisine is lovingly crafted, bursting with delightful flavors. The attentive and amiable staff ensures an unforgettable dining affair. What truly distinguishes Martini's is its remarkable proprietor – an extraordinary woman who imbues her personal touch into the establishment. Her unwavering passion and commitment shine through, making the overall experience truly exceptional.
Highly recommend a meal here.. beautiful fresh , cheap food and drinks. Martini the owner is a joy Had beautiful satay, gasp gado , prawns and grilled fish… such big portions. Atmosphere on car park is average but food makes up for it. We went for dinner early and people were wait for tables when we left Make sure you wipe down your table and chair when you arrive as they can be a bit dusty… don’t wear white clothes Thanks Martini for a fabulous cheap, delicious dinner
Carole S — Google review
- The food portion is definitely large, compared to most other Indonesian restaurants. - Extremely cheap - The dishes were delicious. The chicken satay was juicy while most Indonesian restaurants overcooked the meat. - Highly recommend the fried noodle with chicken. The sweet and sour taste makes you want to eat more and more! - Most importantly, the owners are very friendly and excellent hospitality was demonstrated. - Just a minor comment, the shop is small and entertain 3 tables only. Don’t expect too much for the environment.

Truly incredible food and even better service. We got the vegetarian Pad Tay and wow. Genuinely the best pad Thai I’ve had in decades, if not ever. 10/10 It was so good I had to go back and I got a takeaway one for later that day.

Kind and simple service with delicious food that is amazing value for money. The portion sizes are really big. Also has a nice selection of drinks and juices. Good vegetarian options

Wow! That's impressive! One of the best places to try local food! Also, keep on mind that portions are enormous in size! Tasty and with great service!

This place is a true oasis of peace. A beautiful location, well-maintained and clean. The hotel surroundings, where we had lunch, were stunning. The staff was very friendly and the service was of a high standard. The food deserves a category of its own – excellent soups, a very well-seasoned salad, and an outstanding main course. I highly recommend it and we will definitely come back. Thank you for an exceptional experience.

Fine dining with Balinese authentic ingridients. We enjoyed 5 dinners here during our stay. The best place to try local herbal teas, palm wine/bali arak and cocktails with them, local honey and other specialities
Dmitry G — Google review
Nice ambience, open air restaurant and it’s actually pretty hot. View is as usual super nice by the beach. Food varieties are ok, it’s a high end restaurant, so expect to pay a high price. There’s one special table seating, (cost is 3mil and above) nothing special, so I would say just seat normal, it’s near and better sheltered. Ordered a seafood spread, food can say is ok, but alittle over priced. Just a one time experience is good enough. And the men’s toilet is very dirty, I think they have to clean it and also renew that place if possible 🤣
Tham W — Google review
This is my first to Seasalt Restaurant, and the overall experience has been pleasant. My kids who usually don’t take any cream based pasta actually requested for a second serving after finishing what I ordered. Didn’t managed to take too many photos but the BBQ fish sums up the experience; local, fresh and with a tinge of spiciness.
Zhi G — Google review
Highly recommend the Seasalt Restaurant at Alila Manggis! They serve some of the most unique and authentic Balinese cuisine, beautifully presented in a space that is both elegant and minimalist. The interplay of natural light and shadows creates a calming and refined atmosphere. Dining here, accompanied by the gentle sea breeze and the soothing sound of waves, is a true delight for the senses. A heartfelt thank you to Sentra for sharing such insightful knowledge about Balinese culinary traditions, and to Reza, whose warm smile and attentive service made our experience even more special. We will definitely return to Seasalt the next time we visit Manggis!

Topi Inn was our tour operator and guide to take us snorkelling out to Blue Lagoon and surrounds. We are a family of 5 including 3 teenagers. Ride out was smooth and fun. Boat was a traditional style boat so it felt authentic. Our guide was in the water with us pointing out the turtle and special fish. Water was super clear and not a shark in sight - they say they don't get them there. We felt safe and super happy with the experience. Food was ready for us when we got back. There were also toilets and showers available.
Bec — Google review
Snorkeling with lunch! Saw the beautiful coral and almost every fish that I’ve ever seen in a US Aquarium at the Blue Lagoon. After you shower if you want, they provided a delicious lunch with vegetarian options; I had fried noodles with vegetables and an egg, which was very filling after all the swimming I enjoyed. Some people recorded their snorkeling with a GoPro, which was fun. They are such nice owners and staff that really deserve your business! They arranged a wonderful massage for me. I walked back for dinner and ate a prawns (shrimp) appetizer, a tuna dinner, then followed by dessert. Yummy seafood—all delicious! Beautiful view of the Harbor. Vacation vibe and fun Spanish music. I will return again.

Kerti Restaurant is a popular dining spot located along the picturesque beachside street, boasting an elevated position that provides stunning views. Situated just beyond the Topi Inn, this restaurant offers reasonably priced meals catering to tourists and is situated on the first floor.
We did snorkeling first and the food was included. The food was good. Behind the restaurant there were showers for use after snorkeling.

We got stomach aches and diarrhea after eating here. Worst food we have had in Bali so far. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and located right next to the beach. Super friendly employees. Just, terrible food. Their fried calamari was like rubber. Served with a nice, crushed garlic sauce to help you chew down the tough squid. I got their Seafood basket, grilled. Came with 1 prawn that didn't taste right. A couple pieces of tuna that were not flavored well and 3 pieces of squid, also very chewy. The majority of the basket was French fries, that were not that well fried and tasted old. Matt got their pizza, poor thing. The crust tasted like it was bought pre-made. The cheese was not good cheese to put on the pizza and Matt ended up leaving most of the pizza on his plate. Their vegetable soup was overly salty. For an area known for seafood, the place just didn't cut it.
Jenae L — Google review
They cheated on the menu and made the wrong menu due to their fault. They're very rude. Late and even tasteless. The bathroom is the worst. If you want to throw away your money, go. ^^ enjoy
Jy J — Google review
It’s cheap and cheerful, with warm, genuine service and ok food. Grab an upstairs table at the front overlooking the beach and enjoy the traditional architecture. Ask them to turn up the overhead fans, order a cheap Arak or Bintang and soak up the passing street life, fishing boats and village life . These guys seem to have been caned with some snarky reviews here, but they’re nice people who will do their best to please.
Don B — Google review
this restaurant gets busy as people check in to the boats to the gili islands from here. there’s free wifi and nice open air seating upstairs. the staff didn’t really understand what we were asking and just agreeing so things came out wrong. food is fine but no the tastiest I’ve ever had.
Kristy R — Google review
Should have known it wasn't great when it was empty inside. I found a hair in my "seafood basket" but decided to ignore it and keep eating. I then found about 10 ants crawling through my food. I told the waitress and she laughed and took the plate away. Maybe didn't understand what I was trying to say. Then when paying the bill they said there was a charge for paying by card (not had that anywhere else in padangbai). Even without the hair and ants, the food was overcooked and tough. Would avoid

It's a nice family run warung in padang bai. We love the fried rice noodles here. The food is amazing! Prices are good and the atmosphere is perfect. If you look for local food you re ať the right place. In čase you want some nice fruit juices you should know that the mixxer might cause a funny plastic taste... could change as soon as they get a new mixxer, so for me its not a reason to give a bad rating. For now unfortunately its just not a good choice here.

Really chilled space to eat. Service was unreal. I came here after a ferry from Gili T to grab a coffee. I ended up staying to eat and the owner kindly offered to sort me a taxi out which worked out cheaper than i had been offered elsewhere. Highly recommend.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!! I got served raw chicken and didn’t realise untill half way through- they insisted I pay for the meal even though it was inedible. My friend ordered the chicken curry and the chicken was so rubbery I thought it was tofu. It was so bad she fed it to the dogs because who also refused to eat it. For the rest of the evening me and my two companions spend our time eating raw garlic cloves to prevent food poisoning. The staff were very unhelpful and tried to dismiss the fact that they served me raw meat. Would NOT recommend, would give it 0 stars if that was possible.

Even tho is not in rush hour time but they need a long time to serve the food, but is paid off with the delicious food

We chose to eat here as the owner was friendly and informative. We chose two dishes from the menu and asked for them to be made tourist spicy and for some homemade sambal. We had a very flavourful meal and the sambal was great, so different than just being offered a bottle of big standard chilli sauce. Everything was fresh and tasty! Good value for money too

The smoothie bowl was the best, no artificial flavours. But rest of the food was average.

Depot Segara is a popular dining spot in Manggis, known for serving the best fish in the area. It's a great place for lunch or dinner, offering a romantic atmosphere with a large portion of food and excellent drinks at affordable prices. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood and Indonesian standards while experiencing the authentic Bali family atmosphere. The restaurant also offers beautiful views and cold beverages, making it an ideal choice for tourists looking to hang out, eat, or chill by the sea.
Best food we ate at the Padang Bai area! The bbq fish is amazing en the view is very nice!

Decently priced menu but you definitely get what you pay for. Food is bland, overcooked and unseasoned. Had bugs in it. Service is not great. I was waiting for a fast boat to the Gili Islands and had all my luggage with me so I didn't have many options for a meal near the harbour. I will not be coming back to this "restaurant"

Don’t eat here!! They always charge you extra for everything and don’t follow the price in the menu. The food is not good. The ham and bread were not in a good condition. Definitely the worst experience I had in Bali

Amarta Beach Cottage is a relaxed seafront hotel with understated rooms, an outdoor pool, and a restaurant. The accommodations are spacious and clean, offering a variety of room types suitable for families or honeymooners. Guests can enjoy the private beach access and stunning ocean views from all rooms. The staff is friendly and provides fast service when needed. While some minor maintenance issues have been reported, the overall experience is highly recommended for its excellent value.
We stayed here with our family of five for three nights and had the best time. The location is beautiful with all cottages/rooms having sea view, immediate beach access which is especially good for swimming at low tide, and our children loved the pool. We stayed in the standard (budget) beach cottages, which were basic and slightly older looking, but which we found adorable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was great. The village has several other eating options within walking distance so there’s plenty to choose from. Our favourite activities in the area were snorkeling in Blue Lagoon and a 2hr guided walk through rice terraces and traditional villages. The staff were very kind to arrange airport pickup for us (2hr drive).

The hotel was nice. But care, they scam you with price. I spend there 2.000.000 on food and drinks, one Glas was broken, and they Charge you everyting. They say you broke the chair you setting on, you have to pay, and so on. There was no Service at the tables, you always have to serach an employer to order. Sadly i have to say i will never come back.

Super charming small hotel, right at the sea, small beach included. Clean comfortable room, quiet. The spa is great too, we enjoyed the massage on the beachfront. For snorkeling just dive in and start, we saw loads of fishes, even some box/pufferfish. Great value for your money, sweet people, highly recommended.

Beautiful place, nice garden and nice view. I stay for 4 nights here and I booked the villa, its was nice room, but sadly, they never changes the towel and cleaning staff not really cleaning the room I think, the floor not really clean, soap smell not good. For breakfast is very good. Swimming pool good but when I was stay here is very dirty,so I can't use. Staff are friendly but not all. But any way this is my favourite place to relaxing in candidasa.one more last time many children coming in the pool but the are not guests and make noise,so I hope the owner can make this place more privacy, because overall already good.

Lovely place with huge garden directly in front of the sea. Every rooms has seaview. You can choose the budget bungalow or the new ones for great value. Food is delicious! In front of the hotel is a small white beach and reef with a lot of colourful fishes. Within 2 minutes walk you have 3 further great restaurants. I will come again.
Robin W — Google review
Very nice place to stay for this region, not overpriced for what you get. Staff is friendly and helpful, although the guy in the restaurant who mainly sits at the cashier could use some 'remodeling' as he is a grumpy one and thinks he's the boss around while the real boss (owner) is standing right in front of him. Middle aged guy, if you happen to have questions, definitely avoid this one. The manager (woman) is very friendly and helpful. Also are the two brothers who work there (mainly room/reception service). The rooms are nice, but outdated, and need to be maintained better. Especially the roofs could use a change. There is one typical Balinese room (superior) in the west corner which I would avoid unless there is nothing else. Other rooms are in good condition. As one of the few places in this area this hotel has a bit of a private beach right in front of the hotel (sharing with the neighbor hotel). The snorkling is nice for beginners and if you want to go for a swim it's also nice. Try to go around lunchtime as the water is more calm during that time. After a few days I really loved this place and I will definitely come back. I will also recommend this to my friends and customers that book through our travel company.

They had a large booking when we arrived yet the service was incredibly fast and as always very polite. The menu was extensive and was perfect for fellow vegetarians. Amazing portion sizes and hands down one of the best curries I've ever eaten outside of India 🤤 I chose to make mine spicy and my mum had mild which is perfect when you want to chose how spicy your dish is. I believe you can choose for all dishes

I recently had a late lunch at Ananta Garden Coffee Resto on a hot day, around 3pm. The ambiance in the outdoor area was pleasant and the atmosphere was quite nice. In terms of the food and beverages, they offer average quality options. The taste of the dishes was okay and the portion size was appropriate. I would definitely return to this restaurant for their hospitality and service.
The best fish I had in Bali, mahi mahi on the grill, prepared to perfection!! If you order something from the grill, you can take as many sides as you want from the buffet, which contains rice, vegetables, salad, sauces and dressing. All the veggies were really good and the peanut sauce is probably the best one I ever had ! I went back the last day and had a fried rice dish which was equally delicious. A bit more expensive place, but worth it!

We went for an afternoon treat and ordered fried bananas and cheese cake with ice cream and the very REALLY nice! The cookie on the cheesecake was a 10! The matcha was also good but the coffee was very average. The service was amazing

Amazing place to eat. More variety, not only Mie/Nasi Goreng… We had crispy calamari as a starter. Good portion, very fresh and rich taste. As main course we had the BBQ Thai Style Pork. A bit unique (in a good way). Maybe portion could be a little bit more. We also had the Thai Crispy Chicken in Sweet-sour chili sauce which was absolutely delicious. 75k each is okay to me because the higher price results in way higher quality compared to warungs, and that you can taste. As dessert the baked banana with coconut icecream in condiment was also a tasteful conclusion. Staff has great finesse, pays attention to guests. Perfect table preparation also, you see this attention to detail very rarely around here.

Ciao Pizzeria Candidasa is a delightful family-owned Italian eatery that truly captures the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. Nestled in the charming town of Candidasa, this cozy spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for families and friends alike. The pizzas are exceptional, boasting a perfectly crisp crust topped with fresh ingredients that transport you straight to Italy. Pasta lovers must not miss their carbonara, which has garnered rave reviews for its rich flavor and satisfying texture.
The Best Italian Restaurant in Candidasa! We visited this gem of a restaurant twice with our family and were thoroughly impressed each time. The food is absolutely delicious, with authentic Italian flavors that delighted our taste buds. The service is good and the staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to accommodate our needs. What really stands out is the affordability of this place. For the quality of food and service you get, the prices are very reasonable. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Candidasa. Highly recommended!

We were really excited to read in the menu the carbonara was authentic recipe, unfortunately the sauce did not taste good, the bacon wasnt even cooked, it was really white and seemed like milk cream sauce, it lacked taste. The margherita pizza was good, the service was really nice.

Best Italian restaurant in Candidasa. Authentic Italian food, we had to go there twice since it was so good! Price wise it was affordable, also excellent service with friendly cashier. Will visit them again for sure! My husband said the carbonara was so delicious, that he had to eat it twice🤣 the pizza dough was also nice. Not to mention the delicious chicken wings that we did not expect it to be that good. Pls visit them if you are going to Candidasa. Such a hidden gem😍

Basically the vegetarian pizza I had in here was not too bad in taste. But the pizza was overloaded with tasteless and watery tomatoes, which, in my opinion, negatively affected the taste. And what I personally didn’t like at all is that the pizza was served on a wooden plate, as I don’t think that‘s hygienically impeccable.

This is a quaint little restaurant that serves beautiful food and were very accomodating to allergies (gluten free). A family owned business and the staff were only too happy to educate us on the traditional Balinese culture. Even got a special batch of freshly made pumpkin muffins to take home. The crepes are huge and so delicious! Will definitely be returning here on my next trip!

We love pizza and thought we’d have a change from Indonesian food. So glad we did. The pizza was 100% fabulous, from the glorious crispy base to the toppings which were simple and obviously fresh. No mass produced here! Pizzas reminiscent of the real deal in Italy - I could eat there every night!!

This place was EXACTLY what I was craving! Pizza was tasty, cheese was perfect and thin crust was done to perfection. We had two portions of the cheesy garlic bread and I almost ordered more! Hotel
Amankila is a luxurious resort located on Bali's serene eastern coast, offering stunning views of the sea and a private black-sand beach. The property features elegant Balinese beach villas with local materials and glamorous seaside details, including generous terraces, ocean views, and private pools. Guests can enjoy a three-tiered pool cascading down the cliffside and indulge in spa treatments at the Amankila Spa overlooking the turquoise sea.
What an incredible, unpretentious yet uber luxury private hotel. That felt like a second home. Unbelievable endless views with twinkling lights from the ships far out. The villas itself are gorgeously designed. White bougainvillea tumbling over parapets.Reminiscent of days gone by but very high tech and completely modern. Excellent linens. Our team on WhatsApp ready immediately with any requests. And the super walnut ‘melt in your mouth’ cookies delivered daily! But that's just the accommodation. What sets the bar high is the Staff from Laurent down to Wayan our drive and guide. Gracious gentle staff. Meals were delicious. Chef altered 2 of the dishes at my request without any hesitation. And the night we had an indonesian dinner they helped dress us into Balinese dress. I’d return with my family.

Amankila Beachclub offers a different kind of experience in Bali — serene, exclusive, and undeniably highend. Nestled by the beach in Karangasem, this place stuns with its breathtaking views. Beautiful is an understatement when describing the villa area, the massive infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and the elegant design of the entire property. It's a perfect escape if you're looking to relax in a peaceful, less crowded part of Bali. The staff provided amazing service from the whole team — everyone was kind, welcoming, and professional throughout our visit. It really added to the overall experience and made us feel well taken care of. However, be prepared for a high price tag. There's a minimum purchase of Rp600.000 per person (before tax), and while the setting is undeniably luxurious, the food sadly didn’t match the standard. The restaurant has a wide selection on the menu, but the dishes we tried, especially the Mac & Cheese and Carbonara, were underwhelming. For the price, we expected much more refined flavors and better execution. Still, if you're coming for the view, the ambiance, and the calm, Amankila delivers on that front. Just don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to the food.
Rendra B — Google review
Deeply Disappointed – Definitely Not Worth €2,500 a Night I honestly don’t even know where to start. I was really looking forward to staying at Amankila and had high expectations, especially considering the price — €2,500 per night for a villa with a private pool. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below what I imagined, and I would never recommend it to anyone expecting true luxury. First of all, the service was shockingly poor. Our room wasn’t cleaned for two full days. We had to call the front desk multiple times just to ask for basic housekeeping. For a resort of this supposed standard, that’s completely unacceptable. There was zero attention to detail, and we constantly felt like we were asking for things that should’ve been automatic. The food was another letdown. It was average at best — not bad, but certainly nothing memorable. Definitely not the kind of cuisine you’d expect from a luxury resort at this price. Limited variety, bland flavors, and small portions. We ended up dining outside the resort several times just to enjoy a proper meal. As for the villa itself, it was… okay. The view was beautiful, but the interiors were tired and in need of renovation. For €2,500 a night, I expected much more – something modern, spotless, and meticulously maintained. Instead, it felt outdated and neglected in places. Overall, Amankila just didn’t deliver. It felt like we paid for the name, not the experience. I’ve stayed in far better places for half the price. This was, sadly, a huge waste of money.
B J — Google review
What sets this property apart from any other experience we’ve had—including other Aman properties—is the service. Every single member of the team not only greeted us cheerfully but also knew our names. It felt so personal and extraordinary—truly unlike anything I have ever experienced before. The breakfast was outstanding, not because it was elaborate, but because every ingredient was so fresh and full of flavor. Even something simple like fried eggs tasted exceptional, with the staff noting they came from free-range chickens. The spa experiences were equally memorable, rooted in local rituals and performed by highly skilled therapists. The rooms themselves are the epitome of quiet luxury: serene, discreetly serviced, and immaculately clean. Room service was almost invisible—every time we left, we’d return to a space refreshed, with even our clothes tidied. The authenticity of the design and atmosphere elevated the entire experience. We were fortunate to be there during a full moon, and the resort offered a day-long celebration including a beach blessing ceremony and traditional dance performances. Everything was curated so beautifully yet felt completely authentic, like being welcomed into the island’s heritage as an insider. Other highlights included a sunrise cruise—seeing the island from the sea with breathtaking views of the volcano gave us a deeper connection to Bali’s geography—and a complimentary yoga class led by a local teacher, which ended with sound healing, leaving us deeply grounded and at peace. Excursions like the East Bali Discovery were handled flawlessly. Our driver arranged every detail, took photos, and ensured the day was seamless. The reception team was also consistently professional and kind, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Lastly, the Aman Shop at the resort was a hidden gem—sophisticated, authentic, and perfect for meaningful souvenirs. Amankila is more than a resort—it is an experience of culture, luxury, and true hospitality. Without a doubt, it stands as the best in my life and a perfect representation of Aman’s philosophy.

We stayed here last year for 5 nights, and really liked this hotel. Staff were great, beach amazing and had a great time. Property itself is incredible. Body boarding in particular was great fun thanks to the staff who helped us on the beach. Highly recommend!
Dr S — Google review
Extremely Disappointed – Definitely Not Worth the Price I had very high expectations for Amankila, but unfortunately, this resort turned out to be a major disappointment on many levels. First of all, I found a snake in my room. Yes, a real snake. It was terrifying, especially considering the price and “luxury” level the resort claims to offer. It took staff far too long to respond, and I felt completely unsafe for the rest of my stay. The room itself was old, dirty, and smelled musty. Everything looked worn down and not maintained at all. It felt more like a forgotten guesthouse than a 5-star resort. The food was average at best – repetitive, bland, and nowhere near the standard you’d expect at this price point. Nothing was memorable, and in some cases it even arrived lukewarm. The beach was a huge letdown – narrow, rocky, and very basic. It’s far from the dreamy Bali beach experience you might be imagining. The facilities near the beach were also minimal and unimpressive. One of the biggest issues was the layout of the resort. The villas are located very far from both the beach and the main pool, and getting anywhere requires walking up and down countless steep stairs. As a parent with a small child, this was exhausting. And what shocked me most: there is no shuttle or buggy service to help guests move around – completely unacceptable for a place that charges this much. Overall, Amankila is massively overpriced and overrated. It might have been impressive 20 years ago, but it hasn’t aged well, and the level of service doesn’t even come close to what one should expect. I regret choosing this place and definitely would not return.
Kasia N — Google review
Here is the thing - the hotel is really nice and the property has a lot of potential. However, for a hotel o this caliber and what they charge — not having a proper gym or spa with facilities like sauna steam room etc. is shocking. The service isn't great and the food either, specially compared to places like Como Shambhala. Lastly, the view could be great if it wasn't because of the amount of cargo boats, oil boats etc. docked right in front of the resort and polluting the ocean as seen in the photos. I'd choose another retreat like Bvlgari or Raffles.
Alexis P — Google review
One-of-a-kind property. Do not understand the expectations of anyone ranking this lower than 5-stars. It's built into the cliffside in East Bali. Villas built above the tree-line. We stayed 3 nights in the Amankila suite. It was not enough time, recommend 5 nights. Did the Nourishing Journey spa treatment while there which was really enjoyable. Should have taken staff's recommendation that on tour we do not try to see "Gate of Heaven" at Penataran Agung. It took 3 hours waiting just for one mediocre picture and the whole time surrounded by influencer/narcissist types. Would have been a better use of time just to focus on Taman Ujung and Tirtha Gangga. Those were much more scenic, less crowded and each had hundreds of vantages for beautiful photos instead of just one. Only complaint is that communication before arrival was slow and they asked us literally 1.5 hours before our arrival (while we were on a flight and cannot reply) if we would like assistance clearing customs at the airport. We had already arranged this with a third-party but they also booked it as well. So we had two teams of people waiting to clear us and it was a waste of resources. Also our family had a great time and our children were very welcome, but because of the height of the villas above the ground and steep stairs in some places, it was nerve-wracking with young children - probably safer to wait until they are 6 years +.

If you're in Candidasa and have a penchant for shisha, The 48 Shisha and Resto is an absolute must-visit. This charming eatery boasts a relaxed vibe complemented by soothing background music, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Guests rave about the generous portions of delicious food at reasonable prices, with highlights like their sweet and sour lemon tea that hits just right. While some diners wish for more local Indonesian dishes on the extensive menu, the overall experience remains delightful.
I had such a great time at The 48 Shisha and Resto. The atmosphere is super relaxing with beautiful views of the lotus lagoon and a cozy garden setting. (Translated by Google) By far the best warung in the area. Mega friendly owners and the food tastes more than great. The locals also eat there regularly, which speaks volumes in itself. They even prepared delicious off-menu dishes for us. Simply TOP... This Warung is the real Bali (Original) Mit großem Abstand das beste Warung hier in der Gegend.

(Translated by Google) Such nice people here. Authentic food for little money. Puja and Yati can show you things that people in the hotel just look at you questioningly when you order them. (Original) So nette Leute hier. Authentisches Essen für kleines Geld. Puja und Yati können dir Sachen zeigen, wo man dich im Hotel nur fragend anguckt, wenn du das bestellst.

(Translated by Google) The best place in Bali!! Puja and Yati are great hosts who also turned out to be great friends! Exquisite and low-priced food, no difference in the treatment between locals and tourists. (Original) Il posto migliore di Bali!! Puja e Yati sono degli ottimi padroni di casa che si sono rivelati anche ottimi amici! Cibo squisito e a basso prezzo, nessuna differenza nel trattamento fra locali e turisti.

(Translated by Google) Really nice operators and very tasty food! The warung is inconspicuous, but really great in terms of both taste and price! We'll be back :) (Original) Wirklich nette Betreiber und sehr leckeres Essen! Die Warung ist unscheinbar, aber sowohl geschmacklich als auch preislich wirklich top! Wir kommen wieder :)

(Translated by Google) The meals are delicious. If you eat all the meals on the menu, it's worth it. The owner will also recommend and prepare interesting and tasty dishes. I highly recommend it. (Original) Posiłki przepyszne.Jeżeli zjesz wszystkie posiłki z karty menu a warto.Właściciel poleci i przygotuje również ciekawe i smaczne potrawy. Gorąco polecam.
