The ice cream, sundaes looked really good and tasty. The view of the sea is amazing. It was raining, still beautiful. I had a gluten free, dairy free cake, very disappointed, pure sugar... No good at all.

Always come here when visiting wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 usually have no problem with the food as all. Had pancake stack which usually nice and light and soft but this time they were smaller and dry as cannot even cut into some of them. Came for lunch this time and ordered a cheese toasty which again could barely cut some of it let alone break it off my teeth and is dry stuck together. Very disappointed they need to relook who’s now doing food as used be amazing

Oh my word what an amazing place. The ice cream is just devine. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful. Lovely views of the coast line. You can take dogs in which is a massive bonus. Well recommended and worth a visit. Can't wait to come back again.

Very good range of flavours of ice cream, including plant based, vegan, and gluten free. I had the plant based strawberry ice cream, double scoop in a cup was £4.75 (I think!) ... generally very nice taste, did think the scoop size was a bit on the smaller side compared to many other establishments. Very good overall, attracts huge queues in summer.

Lunch time. Very pretty place to have some lunch. We tried to go to Castle Criccieth, but someone forgot to check if it was open, so we went to lunch.

Visited here yesterday for lunch with my 2 young children. Had a lovely, reasonably priced lunch which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The ice cream was fantastic! I must say the waitress was an absolute credit to your establishment. We will definitely visit again when we’re next in Wales!

Was pleased to find this place when walking in the hot sun. An ice-cream sundae was just what was needed. Service was good and we all enjoyed our cooling dessert. Only negative is it's on the expensive side for what you get, but isn't most things these days!

We were sitting on the beach nearby and popped in to get 2 takeaway milkshakes. They were gorgeous just what was needed. Staff super friendly too. Highly recommend.

Amazing little tearoom. Lovely food at reasonable prices and very covid safe great systems in place. The location is fantastic with beautiful views across the bay and would ordinarily be its greatest asset. Accept this place has the most amazing hard working, efficient and friendly staff. Thank you all for making our lunch break such an enjoyable experience. Dogs are also made very welcome.

Loved this little gem of a place! Visited a few times for drinks and breakfast, it really was a great experience, one small issue with our order, to which the staff went above and beyond to correct (it wasn't even an issue to us) customer service, food, drinks and location all excellent. When we are back in the area we will be back.

Bought 2 fresh cream buns from this lovely cake shop , excellent quality , price & service wish this shop was nearer to home. Far better cakes than they sell in Cambridge at a fraction of the cost with staff banter too .

Wow! Whilst on holiday, I think I would visit here everyday if I could. Purchased a pasty, pie and cake... Walked down to the beach and enjoyed a feast. The whole family enjoyed their lunch. Perfect pastries and really well made. Friendly staff and a great selection of food available.

Lovely bakery, very friendly polite staff, large selection of breads, cakes, pastries, home made jam and honey. Didn't eat in but looked like a very nice eating area upstairs. Reasonably priced, as per any local artisan bakery. If in the area, worth a visit.

The pies, pasties and cakes from this bakery are delicious and make a great lunch for on the beach. The breakfast however has gone massively down hill over the past year. We don't go in for breakfast often, but the food this time round was poor quality and barely cooked, the price was too high for the standard. This, coupled with the awkward and slightly unfriendly service, made it an unpleasant experience.

First of all the girls were enjoying a chat with each others, eventually served, husbands choice not available so had alternative. Sat down had coffee. Husbands hot food appeared only to be told mine was not available. Declined alternative as he would have either eaten his or let his go cold before mine arrived. Had refund on my meal choice. Used to be really good service. It was not busy as were the only ones there!

Me and my family came here for breakfast. Breakfast had stopped being served at 11:10 in the morning so we opted for the baps and soup. The soup took 45 minutes to come and the baps were the wrong orders and it wasn’t even busy. Their service was shocking with no apologies and the quality of the food was also poor for somewhere that is classed as a bakery! Would not recommend and will not be going again.

Reply to Owner Sunday 9th check your cctv all you want, 1 person serving, he was busy with a large drinks order, asked if anyone else was serving he advised he was on his own ? I was there when I took the photo ? So the honest review stands, product was ok service and price was not. Also your card reader should be positioned so your customer can see the price being charged ? Not sitting flat on the counter where the cones are where it can’t be seen ? And you should also automatically offer a receipt when taking a card payment ? It’s not the customers job to ask for one ? Called in for an ice cream for my grandson 1 person serving in the whole cafe ? While the product was ok the service was diabolical unacceptable slow ? Need to invest in some staff ? When you’re charging £4 for a single scoop ice cream ? And provide no service to warrant such cost ? Very disappointing experience, if it wasn’t for my grandson I would have walked out, will definitely not be returning any time soon ? Unsure why it’s rated so highly ?? Overpriced with no customer service should be 0* review.

Cadwaladers is a well-known name on the peninsular, with another branch in Criccieth too. They serve hot drinks, food and ice-cream. Service on the day I visited was slow, although the lady taking the order was friendly enough. The coffee roast used was very strong, harsh-tasting and not that pleasant, which is a shame. Also, this café blazed a trail a few years back with clear vegan options and labelling. This is no longer the case, which feels like a retrograde step. This branch is just a couple of doors away from one of those anonymous chain coffee shops, and I hope this small chain can make sure that they keep relevant and make sure that every aspect of their offering tells their customers that they have made the right decision by going there.

We went twice to Cadwaladers twice over the bank holiday weekend. We were totally impressed with the ice cream, the flavour available, venue and the friendly staff! The price was excellent we were very happy that they do a kids ice cream for £1.50 which is great for a fussy toddler who only wants half! I would highly recommend the pistachio and the Turkish delight! We visited again in October the children's ice creams have gone up to £1.50 but still a good price. Staff were friendly and let us sit in whilst we ate our ice creams!

Check out their new millionaire waffle. Its a huge portion. Nice, clean and comfortable little place in the heart of Porthmadog. So many ice cream choices includes Vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free range. They've got teas and coffees as well. Visit them if you are around. You'll be happy

Have been coming here for 10+ years, best ice cream in Wales. Was really disappointed today when we tried to order to eat in at the other side of the bar and got walked past twice, waited ten minutes before deciding to try at the other till, we joined the queue there waiting another 10 minutes and on ordering the server rolled her eyes at me when asking if we wanted anything else. Slow and rude service really letting the place down.

Never have I experienced such appalling service. Entered the Porthmadog branch intending to treat my family to an ice cream treat, and after seating the family and approaching the service counter was told abruptly- were not cooking now. Taking this on the chin as I just wanted ice cream i said that I just wanted to order some ice cream. I was then taid to go and wait and they would be with us to take the order. After waiting for over 10 minutes- watching the colleagues shuffle around more interested in their personal conversation than serving us, the colleague who told us to wait came across, looked at us sat there waiting, huffed and sat down to do who knows what on her phone. I was by now very unhappy, we were ignored by everyone there and then further ignored. I expressed my unhappiness and took my family away. Suffice to say we won't be coming back. I strongly recommend against a visit to this branch.

Stopped in for refreshment. Ordered lemon raspberry cake and Cowboy chai and flat white. The beverages weren't hot enough for our taste but the flavour and the cake were pleasant enough. Seems popular as there were quite a few customers on a Tuesday afternoon. Felt expensive for what we ordered - £17 for two drinks and two slices of cake.

We had a lovely brunch in Domu after a trip away to Bethesda with friends, stopping off in Bangor before we travelled home. We arrived early and were greeted with a warm welcome. The coffee was extremely good and the food delicious (so good I ate my gorgeous vegetarian pastry before I could take a photo!) I would really recommend Domu, a great vibe and lovely food and drink at a reasonable price!

I love this little coffee shop, I always try to stop here when visiting town. It has become the highlight of my monthly trips to Bangor. The loose leaf breakfast tea is fantastic, the owners enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. The cakes look amazing but I'm only ever hear straight after breakfast. Well worth the stop, would recommend highly.

Best place ever to eat rich and healthy food, you can also find a sweet treat. They have vegan and vegetarian options, handmade food and artesanal coffee and chocolate. Good tastes really good and the staff is incredible polite. Lively for a date, solo date, to go with friends.

If you're in Bangor, you have to check out Domu Cafe! The food is incredible, we had a soup, a toastie, and some of the best garlic bread I've had in a long time. But what really made the experience was the overall vibe. The staff are so friendly. The prices are reasonable, and the place itself has a great atmosphere with cool decorations and good music playing. It's clear a lot of care goes into this place, and it shows. Absolutely brilliant place! You have to try the grilled cheese with veg sausage. Service is so friendly and kind to kids. We loved it!

Over £50 for a less than average breakfast. Personally wouldn’t have let the poached egg leave the kitchen the way it was served. £9.50 for half a tin of chickpeas and some avocado over a bagel with one good poached egg and one that should never have made it out to the customer. £10.50 full Welsh breakfast was very poor quality and not much to it really, again bad quality. Would have expected more than one sausage on a ‘full’ breakfast. The rest was mediocre at best. Wasn’t much on offer in the way of drinks. Wouldn’t go again and would NOT recommend. Very disappointing. Must say the food did come out within minutes but that just makes me think it was just heated up. Will be back at the Sandbar for breakfast tomorrow as this certainly was not the ‘hidden gem’ it was described to us as and the food did not look anything like the photos that are on social media.

Wonderful.....we haven't been before but will definitely be going again. The sandwiches were delightful, none of the boring fillings....we had brie and cranberry and others....very tasty....the cream scones were so fresh, they melted in your mouth....there was do much we had to take the rest away in a bag. You do need to book so that you are not disappointed and it is very reasonably priced. Staff friendly and dog friendly....a great quirky place to ho x

My favourite place to have breakfast on the Peninsula. Lovely peaceful relaxed atmosphere and very friendly service. Had smashed avocado on lovely light airy toasted buttered bagels with two poached eggs and a side of bacon. Absolutely delicious. My friend had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast. The flat white coffee was very good quality. They also sell lovely quiche and tartlets here. Always easy to park on the big private carpark - much better than endlessly driving round Abersoch trying to find that elusive parking space which is an absolute pain.

Hadn’t been to Criccieth for years. Definitely peckish, so popped in and chose a well filled ham and salad bap. Delicious with a packet of ready salted crisps (most sandwich/bap makers don’t add salt). Staff were friendly and attentive and being Welsh, I enjoyed the experience immensely.

Passed by this Idris Cafe for years but stopped a few months back for a quick bite. Now we cannot get enough of it!! Everything we’ve ever had has been AMAZING!! Absolutely awesome bakery with a great variety and friendly helpful staff. Special flavoured sausage rolls are always incredible.

Very unfortunate to say but this place is not welcoming to tourists. If you’re visiting North Wales from another country, I would skip this cafe. We came from Ireland and had cycled all the way from Bangor, arrived 15 minutes before close and the older woman at the counter pretended they had no pastries left. We said we would take “anything” as we cycled very far and were starving. She didn’t even make eye contact with us. It wasn’t until the younger girl pointed out that they did have pastries (right infront of her under the counter) that she reluctantly sold us 2 pastries with zero kindness. The younger ones here seem to be much kinder. I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to sell two cold pastries to someone 15 minutes before you’re even closing, but I can only suspect it’s because we aren’t local. There is much nicer cafes in the area that are happy to get the business.

Absolutely brilliant here, my wife said it was the best sausage roll she'd ever had. Due to the customer after me a cake was missed from my order but the staff had absolutely no issue rectifying things when I went back in.

Lovely bakery we went here while staying in haven the cakes are fab, and the steak pie and meat and potato pie and the bread outstanding great to stock up and take it back to the caravan in haven aso got egg custards too, its well worth going too, and the bread freezes well, went back to get some to take home with us

Very friendly staff with plenty of helpful comments about what was on offer. The portions were generous and the cake slices were a decent size. When we arrived at about 2pm they had already sold out of jacket potatoes, which was a shame but everything else was available. As it's just off the main street, it seemed a much quieter café.

Honestly, the coffee wasn't good and the bakery seemed quite dry. On the other hand, the ambience and staff were absolutely lovely. Big comfy chairs, nice decor.

Terrible service from staff that obviously don't want to work there. The cafe could be so much more profitable if they provided a better menu and served hot food after 2.30! Very expensive. People walking out because they had stood waiting to be served for 20 minutes and only 2 people before them!!

We were looking for a place for a coffee and snack in Bangor and Gerrard's was an ideal choice. The sausage rolls were good, veggie options available, and the atmosphere was relaxing with quick service. We'll be back.

Very expensive for what it is had a sausage and bacon bap the sausage and bacon was pre cook staff just heat up a microwave. Bacon and sausage was like rubber cost £2.95 for 1 sausage and 2 bacon AS u was waiting for my order I just looked in the fridge with the drinks nearly £5 for a cheese toast. The biggest rip off back street cafe I ever see.

So although they have a fully functioning coffee machine, since I asked for decaff...I'm relegated to instant...for the same decaf price as barista made coffee, which was utterly unpalatable and bland even for instant coffee. The tables are sticky... everything has the scent of faded glory. Avoid...and go to Cafe Nero instead. Awful.

A good "old fashioned" confectioner - spotlessly clean, pleasant staff, good service and a very wide range of "delicacies". An inviting place to enjoy a coffee away from the High Street usual Costas & Nero's.

Standard Greggs food, not great, not hot, but it’s cheap so you eat it. The service at this specific branch was some of the worst I’ve ever seen however. The girl that served us just seemed to be annoyed with everything and everyone 🤷🏻‍♂️ we spent over £30 so had quite a lot of stuff, asking for a bag 3 times before paying but never got a response. We paid and asked what about the bag? To which she acted surprised and told us well that’s 10p. So we then had a second transaction for just 10p, and the bag wasn’t even plastic it was paper, since when do you now have to pay for a paper bag?!

I honour you lot at greggs bangor for doing a stellar job in making some of the greatest and most humble British cuisine. Whoever thought of mixing the art of a traditional bakery and the service of a fast food chain surely deserves some recognition. It is always service with a smile! The steak beak was divine! From the very first bite I was in awe, slightly crisp pastry still fluffy and mellow, the steak and sauce was yet to come, and oh boy was it worth the weight, the steak fell apart like butter, the oozing viscosity of sauce flowed like a river dancing on the taste buds... pure umami goodness. Next on the agenda, a cheese twist... this perfectly golden meaty delight was exceptional! I know it sounds mad but trust me it was a game changer, a real show stopper! Picture this... grab a slab of pig flesh and coat it with the finest of cheddars and wrap in up nicely in a little blanket of pastry, now if that doesn't warm the heart already, wait until you pop it in the oven and let it rest on a counter until a luck person stumbles across it, wow oh wow what a beautiful experience... now for the drink, I went with a British staple... a nice ice cold vimto, produced since 1908! And just like the bottle says it's refreshingly different! Below is a sample of pizza that I had last year it was quite artsy and whoever thought to put the pepperoni at the bottom so it's a half and half was a genius!

It's an ok place. Same as all Greggs though, when eating in, the tables are never wiped because the staff are working flat out, but all Greggs are definitely the same.

Not been overly keen on the staff during the years however the lady working there now is so friendly (Nina - Manager). She always welcomes everyone with a smile and doesn’t care if you’re white black brown or blue. Thanks for always showing kindness to your customers Nina!

It is the best place for low prices but tasty breakfasts, lunch to go and to test new pastries, staying on budget too. Very good plan for students and you can help yourself and go to the queue to pay for it. Practical, tasty and cheap 👍😌😌👏👏👏👏

I’ve had greggs all across the country and by far this one exceeds all standards compared to others , everything I get is always perfect and the staff are super friendly , always greeted with a big smile and couldn’t fault them at all , would highly recommend visiting this small store and can guarantee a quality visit.

I contacted Gregg's via Facebook because they only state allergens and nutrions but don't state ingredients on their website. I'm anaphylactic allergic to garlic which is not an allergen. Brilliant online customer service, they sent me on the same day an email with a list of the chosen products I have asked for. All ingredients stated and luckily some products are suitable foe me. My favourite so far is the vegan sausage roll (no, I am not vegan, but they are really tasty imho). But that's obviously a personal choice. Customer service in store was friendly too. So if I'd like a snack I would pop back in there and get one.

I ordered a takeaway afternoon tea for an engagement during our visit to Caernarfon on the Welsh Highland Railway and couldn’t have been happier! The presentation was wonderful, and every item was delicious—from the sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. It made our day feel even more special. Thank you for such a thoughtful and tasty experience! (And the lovely card too!). Oh, and she said yes too!

Visited today for the first time whilst stopping off in Caernarfon. Excellent service and the portions are very big. Food is delicious and great value for money. We will be back next time we are in Caernarfon.

We visited here on a visit to the castle, we originally seen it advertisement online and thought the food looked nice... how wrong we were whilst presented well enough the jacket potato was still frozen in the centre. The staff did discount some off but a partial discount for a meal not eaten was shocking. We had to go to somewhere else when leaving for food for people who didn't enjoy there's. The seating was very small area but we noticed the staff took a very long time to move people's used plates away. We took some cakes with us again they looked pleasant enough, again the wrong decision. My cream strawberry and cream pastry genuinely made me feel sick the after taste of fish was disgusting. We also got a snickers cake which was stale, the fudge cake was dry and hard. I wouldn't recommend here to anyone. Very much don't judge a book by it's cover, it's a lovely looking book but very much a horror story.

Had lunch for a famly of 5 and we all had cake after for £50! An absolute bargain! Freshly cooked food, great sized portions. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The lady in the kitchen was happy to edit meals to dietary requirements. The young lady serving out back was run off her feet but did so well to cater for everyone. So impressed, thank you for such a lovely lunch. A Gem of a cafe in a beautiful town. So worth a visit.

Visited the bakery this morning. Bacon barm was excellent lots of bacon on it also had a cream cake and then went back for another 4 cakes. Great offer at 4 cakes for £9. Staff very helpful and friendly. Daisy especially couldn't do enough to help so happy and friendly. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go again 5 stars for everything 🤗

Lovely & friendly staff. Awesome Oreo's cheesecake, Snickers caramel slice. Bischoff cake not a fan as it was dry & didn't have flavour. 2 good desserts out of 3 not bad. Will definitely return for the Oreo cheesecake. They have a cafe inside for breakfast and lunch.

Should you be fortunate enough to visit Porthmadog then it's practically a requirement to join the queue at Newell's Bakery (when you see 2 bakeries side by side - a well known brand with no queue & an independent with a sizeable queue - it's clear where you should be shopping!). Once inside you'll discover all kinds of delicious treats you've likely never tried but always wanted like Hummingbird Cake and Caramelised Onion Sausage Rolls and Sunday Dinner Sausage Rolls and Christmas Dinner Sausage Rolls and the best Scotch Eggs you've laid eyes on! Usually my partner & I share our food but so much did we love our sausage rolls we didn't share so much as a bite! Highly recommended!

Absolutely top class traditional style bakery. You have to join the queue just after the delivery arrives to get the full selection, late morning seems to be the best time. Prices are high but good value considering the quality. It would be much higher in the city. I don't think it's possible to make a bad decision in there but prepared to try everything to find out.

You don’t get bakeries like this in England! Brownies are incredible compared to others on the market (and I’ve had a lot of brownies) Doughnuts, sprinkle cake and fresh cream cakes also deserve a special mention. Rolls and bread are perfect. Staff hard working and busy all the time. Excellent to see businesses like this thriving in Wales. Even without tourists, the locals will queue round the corner for baked goods from here. A lovely example of Welsh fresh, honest food and hospitality. (Also worth noting - it’s cheap!)

My mother went in this bakery, we come to porthmadog a couple of times a year as we love it here with the children. My mother was waiting in the Que, the person servicing with short hair said to one of the quests which she was cutting bread for she can wait she’s only a guest, in otherwise go somewhere else. I was really taken back by this, as it was really rude, I’m assuming they thought I didn’t understand what they were saying because they tried to be nice to my face. There was also a wasp feeding on the sugar buns by the front of the window, it went across all the donuts and the sugar coated cakes. I come into this bakery because the chocolate cake looked lovely, what I didn’t think would occur was rudeness and you didn’t think I understood you, next time a ‘ guest’ comes in please be respectful because we are choosing to give you custom and we are still a customer. I will not be returning I just needed to write this review as it’s been playing on my mind ever since just to make you aware I knew you were being rude and you know who I am because I looked different:) you made it quite clear you didn’t want me there so thanks for an uncomfortable experience and I hope you understand some people understand what you are saying when they come here regularly throughout the year:) Many thanks Katie!

I asked for a cheese and onion pasty, as there were 2 on the shelf in the fridge clearly labelled as cheese and onion, however apon taking a bite it turned out to be a steak pasty, as in meat, thankfully this happened to me as I’m not a vegetarian, but a word of warning to the owner and staff of this place, you can land yourself in fairly serious trouble if you sell something with meat in it to a vegetarian when it should be free of meat

Cake looks like it was made by your Nan in the 80s, which in a way is quite cute and nostalgic, but it also tastes like it was made by your Nan in the 80s. Weird salty margarine buttercream and dry lumpy sponge like it’s made from the cheapest flour. You pay by the weight of the cake, so no light fluffy sponges here. I’ve eaten and made a lot of cakes over the years and this one is the worst I’ve ever tasted. Sorry! It wasn’t worth its weight.

Dreadful, went 3mins after opening time expecting freshly cooked goods, clearly sausage rolls and pies were baked tge day before if im being kind, stale and ice cold as if theyve just come out the fridge. Appalling for the price they charge you expect fresh baked goods and at least mildly warm. Stay clear

Ordered a cake for a surprise party as my daughter is leaving the country. Went to pick it up. It has not been made. Ordered 1week in advance. They put the wrong date on the order, even though when I ordered, they said 1week in advance is great! It was supposed to be a special day, now the centre piece is not there. So upset.

We walked by this shop and see the most amazing looking battenburg cakes in the window, happens to be my dads favourite, purchased one at £4.39 as the cakes are weighed.... most probably the worse cake ive ever brought, full of crunchie sugary lumps and the marzipan didnt even taste of marzipan, so disappointed after travelling home 5 hours to Cambridgeshire to give to my dad... i was with my two friends who also brought one each... there cakes was slightly more expensive to mine.. feeling disappointed 😔

I liked the flavour and texture of the pizza base. The Italian base itself is very thin just as I like but the edges are thicker and substantial and tasty if you can eat all of that. Unfortunately it had gone over a bit and was burnt and I had to scrape some of the black bits off. The toppings are ok and there is a good choice for everyone including foodies (eg artichokes, anchovies, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, rocket, olives) as well as more usual ones. I’d defo go back again and have another but ask them to make sure it didn’t get burnt. I did like it.

Terrible burnt pizza. Too much cheese I was choking trying to swallow it! (No wonder you had to burn it to cook through that gallon of cheese) pizza sauce was absolutely tasteless!! Sides are stingy for price and nothing special. Don’t waste your money here, and to the owners, if your chef cooks a burnt pizza they need to NOT SERVE IT, and make a new one. don’t put the pressure onto the customer to rectify your mistake, we were already home when we realised. Never again!

We called when our food was 30 mins late. They had forgotten our order. After that, it still arrived 30 mins later than was said. In total we waited for 90 minutes on our food and didn’t even get a discount. Not worth it at all.

This lady made an absolutely beautiful cake for all the children at my wedding. It was superb and a lot of the adults asked for a slice.

Absolutely gorgeous pizzas. Catered to our dietary needs. Love the place. Highly recommend
