This place has been here for as long as I can remember (first visit in 2009). The place is a strange blend between bar, live music venue and Thai restaurant. The food is great, particularly their fried morning glory and char-grilled pork neck.

A great dining/Entertainment experience! If you are looking for a readily accessible place with "tasty Thai" food, a wonderful ambience as well as music--- both "live" and a DJ--- LOOK NO FURTHER!! A part of South Shenzhen to walk around with plenty of restaurants, cafe's, shops and a cinema. It's along the water so it has a great view. There are a handful of international restaurants here with some people speaking English to help foreigners.

I stay at sea world whenever I am in Shenzhen on business. I consider it to be without a doubt my favourite place to travel to for work purposes in the world, plenty of restaurants and bars a very healthy mix of expats and the locals are also extremely friendly. I can not speak more highly around the hospitality I always receive in China so I would highly recommend people to visit this gorgeous part of Shenzhen.

A nice place for a drink. Prices are a tad higher than your typical places in China, but you pay for the location. They have a patio area, but most people are smoking, so if you are not a smoker, definitely not the best atmosphere. Service is ok, but can be more attentive.

Once you are in...you see a huge wall of whiskey selection as well as other liquors. Though pretty pricey...the coctails are great and nicely presented. The owner/bartender was extremely passionate about whiskey and his whiskey coctails...and was also very friendly. Drinks were awesome and he could tell you anything on his whiskeys. The list is long and changes regularly. Do expect to pay in the 150 RMB ($20 range) for drinks. Unremarkable surroundings...but cool speakeasy vibes one inside. Would go back again

The mall is very spacious and the air conditioning is very cooling. When at night, the lights are beautiful. Every store you can think of, is there. So come and visit it.

It’s a great place for taking photos and spending a few hours walking around. It’s conveniently located near the metro station, which made it very easy to get there—I took the metro directly. The underground area connected to the station is full of shops, food courts, and small restaurants, so it’s a good place to eat or cool off before or after your visit.

Window of the World is a very big theme park in Shenzhen. It features replicas of all the iconic and famous landmarks in the world. It is divided into 8 geographical zones. This is a feature lobby bar at Mandarin Oriental in Central. Situated just off Queen's Road Central it is combined with the PDT Bar, which is upstairs from within the MO Bar. Seating is classy and opening hours are 8am to midnight daily. They offer creative cocktails, spirits, wine and beer along all-day food menu. Have stopped by a couple times this year and find this to be a very good bar option in the Central area for early afternoon round, bar snacks and pre-dinner drinks. Service is friendly and timely, drink quality is what you expect of a MO property and environs are very good. In the end, there are a lot of good bars around Central, the MO Bar is very well located and an easy choice for a predictably good venue when in the area and in the mood.

Haven’t come for dining for a while but my recent visit was a positive surprise. New menu with free flow drinks was fairly good value while food standards were maintained at high standards as before. Appetizers platter was made of yummy lobster salads, foie gras, chops with ham. My main course sirloin steak was good. Good dish presentation with high quality food.

The food was excellent at the Aubrey. Great taste, especially the snacks/starters were on point. Hamachi rolls and kerage chicken were the best. The mains were overall disappointing, the udon were a bit strange, slippery and eggy and milky. The pork however was super tasty and soft. We came while the best bar take over was on, and the drinks were a bot meh, being at the different bars, the drinks presented at the Aubrey were disappointing, mild not a good representation of the HK best bars. Finally, the sitting area was wonderful. Super chill, great interiors but freezing cold. Must also say that the cool interiors clash a bit with the izakaya idea. Was like being in an English gastro pub where served Japanese style pub food.

Service is as expected from MO. Got the sashimi set which is quite good but honestly feels tad overpriced, maybe choosing the three Bento is better! If you upgrade to the beef! But the Wagyu sando is to kill for! Very yummy and expensive piece! But defo a better environment, especially for quality lunch as table are well-placed, so it doesn't get too rowdy. Also came here for bar, I thought it was a bit loud but I had good things that you can have good environment to chat, maybe my table or bad luck! But they have a lot of drinks but pricy for sure!

I got a Pim's cocktail that was pretty good. So this place might be fine for a drink. The food, however, was not fine. It was incredibly bland and tasteless (and this is coming from someone who loves British food). My girlfriend got the "Sunday Roast" with lamb that had the consistency of dog food and Yorkshire puddings that were like chewing on cardboard. They even screwed up mashed potatoes, which I didn't even know was possible. I got the chicken meat pie that had mushrooms like rubber and chicken that was somehow dry despite being soaked in gravy. By far the worst western food I've ever had in China, and that is saying a lot (I've been here 3+ years). Because of this place, my girlfriend and I have a new rule to never eat British food in mainland China ever again. Avoid this place's food at all costs, unless you like eating unsalted cardboard. The picture makes it look ok. It wasn't.

The dishes were not too impressive, but better than average lounge food in luxury hotels. Love the little car with desserts at the end. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

We originally intended to go to a Chinese restaurant but ended up at this place (a bar?). The atmosphere and seating were comfortable, and sitting by the window felt just like being in a café in a European town. When we realized we had come to the wrong place, Mr. Chow, the staff member, warmly assisted us in getting to the Chinese restaurant. After our meal, because the ambiance was so pleasant, we returned to have coffee. Unfortunately, due to the typhoon that day, we only stayed for a short while before each heading home. A little hidden speakeasy in the heart of central, where concept and craftsmanship intertwine. Although the venue is small, it’s cozy. The menu is incredibly unique; you can see the attention to detail from the design alone. The cocktails are well thought through, aligning with the concept of the menu, and true to The Old Man’s nature - experimental. My personal favourites from their new menu are Handshake, Quiet Waters and Maven. Would also highly recommend getting their lotus chips, you won’t regret it. If you’re seeking for a quieter evening enjoying cocktails, I’d come earlier, as it gets does get busy and crowded later in the evening.

Secluded cosy little bar. May easily missed the entrance as it is not situated on the main road. Serve interesting cocktails. Bartenders are friendly and eager to explain drinks options. The seating area is small and may get crowded very fast at night. It's worth popping in if nearby the area.

The Old Man is a stylish and bustling bar, great for cocktail enthusiasts. It has a cool, intimate vibe, though it can get quite packed and noisy on weekends. The cocktails are creative and well-crafted, with thoughtful flavor combinations- with drinks that perfectly balances boldness and finesse. Great energy, great drinks—definitely worth a visit.

Great cocktail bar in the cool SoHo neighborhood of Hong Kong. Came on a Thursday night and the energy was great, very vibey and cool cocktail bar with a modern Hemingway theme to it. Team was super friendly and excited to share all about their seasonal signature cocktails. I loved the creativity of the drinks and their grounding in local Ingredients, also appreciated the breadth of flavor profiles, including some killer brown liquor options! Had two fabulous drinks while just relaxing and taking in the people watching, would love to go back here.

We were thrilled to return to the Old Man, our favorite spot for drinks in Hong Kong. Tonight, the service was outstanding, and Joshua, Chris, and Asta were incredibly friendly, engaging us in great conversations. I highly recommend this place for catching up with friends while enjoying amazing and unique drinks.

A small Chinese restaurant situated on the 15th floor of Nathan Hotel with a few tables only but food was delicious. Good service! The hotel lift only took you to the 14th floor and have to walked up one floor to the restaurant !

Initially had doubts seeing the 4.0 score and the higher price, but it was high score compared to others so I tried. Never heard of this restaurant but pleasantly surprised Food taste was all quite nice. With very sufficient ingredients in the dim sums. The premium was well worth it and I’ll revisit despite the higher price than other Chinese restaurants

Taking the elevator from the lobby of the Nathan Hotel does not get you to the Penthouse. Once you get to the 14/F, you have to walk up a flight of stairs. The service was pathetic. The waiters and waitresses were not rude when they were actually interacting with us. The problem was that they ignored us, while they were busy setting up tables and delivering food to other patrons. We were seated for 15 minutes before we were able to get hold of a menu. The staff was also quite disorganized; often serving the wrong food. The dim sum, the deep-fried crab claws and the Fujian fried rice were alright, but not good enough to make up for all the aggravation.

Probably the best bar in Hong Kong. Every single cocktail was outstanding and always with a complete difference flavor. You might need to queue before it opens to make sure that you get a seat in the first round. Alternatively they get your name and number and let you know approximately when there might be a table available. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain the drinks and offer some snacks.

I love a great cocktail bar, especially one with a focus on mezcal and tequila! The drinks were wonderful and it was such a nice ambiance inside. The service was also great! I will say it was a bit hard to find at first as it’s through an alleyway and up or down some steps, depending on which way you come from. Also, since there no reservations, your best bet is to go early right when they open. I did that and had maybe a 15 min wait for 2 people. For reference, I went a couple of days before this but couldn’t get on the waitlist because it was so packed. Overall, a lovely experience.

Waited 3.5 hours on a Saturday night to get into the legendary COA Mexican bar, which got listed in Asia 50 best bar few years ago and since then always have a giant queue outside no matter weekday weather or time. Their signature clarified coconut milk punch is worth the hype, one of the most unique and delicious cocktails I've tried, the initial taste, middle taste, and after taste are completely different, with caramel, coconut, and smokey flavor, a must try! Other than their signature clarified coconut milk, their other cocktails are very delicious too, first time to try horchata. The drinks feature on Mexican ingredients and preparation style. Servers are friendly and patiently introduce drinks and provide chips for bar snack. 120$ +10% per drink, reasonable for the location and quality. The decor is in rustic Mexican plantation theme and Mexican folklore, comfortable seating but it's always super crowd inside, almost need to yell to hear your friends at the same table.

My favorite bar in Hong Kong. E-queue managed through WhatsApp. Come here early and get into the queue! I saw the line starting to queue almost 1 hour before the bar opening time. The last order time is 23:00. Fantastic drinks, nice noisy crowd of people, great choice of music.

Lively and popular spot with a strong Mexican theme, centred around tequila and mezcal. You’ll likely have to wait for a table, but they have a digital queue so you can go elsewhere until it’s ready. The drinks lean into bold, recognisable flavours, though without much depth or surprise. Staff seemed a bit inexperienced, and service was uneven - drinks arrived at different times, and attempts at conversation felt a little forced. Still, it’s a fun atmosphere with approachable cocktails, just not a place to expect much beyond the surface.

Disappointment that they have lost their ability to tailor make to your taste. They pre-mixed everything nowadays and can’t make any adjustment, using justifications that the mixture is balanced in flavour. Haven’t been there for a couple of years as it was always full. Tried 3 cocktails which were ok but not impressive. Would be interesting to see if it is still Asia top 50s.

Very innovative cocktail bar full of surprise. You never imagine how Sichun spicy beef 水煮牛肉 inspired cocktail drink impact your tongue. Every waiters are super helpful and explain the detail of each drink. You can definitely surprise your friends here. Only one thing is you may need to wait long time to get in as there’s no reservations

We went to a lot of cocktail bars on our Hong Kong trip, but this was easily the best. Complex, world class mixology with no pretentiousness at all. Friendly staff and a great vibe.

Busy as usual! They serve a variety of gin base cocktail (alongside with some choices of non alcoholic and classic cocktails). The menu doesn't really change too much. The food was good, but portion was quite small. Tables are also quite small for servings. Good for a quick catch up with friends.

My friend and I happened to enter Penicillin during the Guest Shift bartender’s shift, and the entire experience was electrifying. The staff was friendly and fun, and we had a great time that night. If you’re planning to bar crawl around the area, don’t miss out on their cocktails!

Definitely one of my favorite cocktail bars in Hong Kong. Minimalist decor with great cocktails. Bartenders are like chemists making your drinks. The theme is sustainable cocktails with minimal waste. Try the “One Penicillin One Tree”, but I also like the “Slow Grind.”

This bar has a welcoming vibe and genuinely skilled staff. The seasonal menu aimed for innovation through texture, although some drinks lacked boldness. Classic options, including barrel-aged cocktails, were solid, but slightly diluted. We challenged the bartender to create something different and off the menu. He created a rum Manhattan, adding in some surprising bitters. It stood out as a highlight - layered, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted.

TLDR: creativity and drink design as well as service is nice but I was not a fan of the two drinks I ordered I got the popular earl grey caviar martini and did not know that the caviar was made of grapefruit which made it very tart of a drink for me. I also got the two mini bottles for the roasted marshmallow but there was barely any drink in them, it wasn’t even enough for one sip of each and most of it was stuck to the sides of the bottle

The Quinary Bar is an outstanding place where to meet your friends. Place is limited, so I advise you to get a reservation. Stuff is very friendly and the service is very smart. There is lovely music but not too loud, so you can have a good conversation in between. The boss himself gives you the best recommendations. So do not hesitate to ask for! Stunning flavour together with an amazing sight of the drinks will be the result of perfection @ it‘s best. Go there and have a drink!

I love Quinary! All the cocktails have such a fun and fancy vibe. I’m not personally a big fan of the bar’s interior decor, but the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the drinks are well-crafted and delicious, so I really can’t complain. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys creative cocktails, and I’ll for sure be going back!

Great experience at Quinary. Arriving on a Sunday night around 9 pm, it was nearly full. Drinks were interesting, creative, and unique - albeit expensive (HKD$150+ each). Loved the attention to detail in the menu design and custom leather coasters (also available to purchase). Staff were very helpful in explaining the drinks thoroughly, making recommendations, and even pausing to ask if we wanted to take photos/video as they served the drinks that involved pouring. Spirit-free options were available, but most of them contained dairy, though staff were helpful in explaining this to me when I mentioned lactose intolerance as it was not clearly called out in the menu descriptions. We also ordered the duck spring rolls, which unfortunately were a miss for us - it was a big portion but we were expecting thin and crisp rolls, but instead they were more like thick but soft crepe rolls.

My top bar in Hong Kong!! I love the drinks and the ambience here. The Lavender Meringue Pie was top tier, can’t really taste the alcohol, more like a dessert drink (which is very dangerous haha). The Negroni was stroooong though. Overall, an amazing bar with great service!!

Atmosphere 8.5/10 Designed as a Monkey Express (train) bar. Obviously, they put in a lot of effort for the interior design - many authentic industrial train design elements. Great backbar. Can get a bit loud when busy. Drinks 7/10 Recommendation: Happy Cake Very creative menu design and large cocktail selection. The first part of the menu is around different elements (like glass, silk, gold, etc.) and drinks curated to represent those. The second part is a more traditional menu with some signature drinks. The cocktail taste did not convince me though - it felt like the presentation, which is clearly unique here, was prioritized over taste and balance of ingredients. Great for pictures, mediocre for taste experience. Nice coasters and glassware. Service 7/10 The team speaks English and takes time to explain the menu. Water is served on the spot. It might take some time to catch the team’s attention though… No snacks / warm towels or further service. Prices are average for Hong Kong. This bar is ranked #26 in Asia’s Best 50 Bars 2024. Even though it’s a fun bar, the ranking feels a bit high, considering the competition and high standards of other bars in Asia.

Was there for jazz night. Didn’t make a booking but the hostess asked if we would mind taking standing spot and be seated when the first table is available. She’s so sweet and approachable. Definitely with great mannerism and professionalism, we were seated not long after we got in. A fashion area ! Lots of shops and malls to go for shopping. My advice: go into a mall a look for an underground mall, there are nice shops too. The streets are clean, and lots of street food.

Travel on the Shenzhen metro to get here. Cash not usually accepted - everything is on AliPay (China not HK). So make sure you have this set-up before making the trip to China. AliPay for transport tickets and all payments. Open street shopping district in Shenzhen. Fashion and sports stores galore with many restaurants and eateries. A very lively and busy shopping district. Every store is pumping out all different kinds of music which adds to the atmosphere. Enter shops as a tourist and do not be surprised to be chaperoned by a member of the sales team and offered all sorts of goods. Most goods offered cheaper than in Hong Kong.

Station : Laojie Exit: D or E Shopping, underground or above. I find what they offer above is worth the time as there's many local brand and they are good. Too many to choose, only time ....as for food, I am not a foodie but there's plenty there and a McD. Massage at one spa I went was not as cheap as some I went in other cities but understandable, as it's near HK.

Great place to eat and shop! Everything is so affordable and delicious. If you come here, you must try the oysters. Huge oysters grilled with garlic and chilli, for only about 1 usd each!! Easily the highlight of the shenzhen trip. Everything can be found here for cheap - clothes, massages, food, bags etc. You name it. Another thing I have never seen elsewhere are the benches that provide free wireless charging. Oh and lots of street performers and live streamers can be found here if that's your thing

I visited Dongmen Pedestrian Street during my visit to Shenzhen. This is a very lively area with a large variety of shops and restaurants. It's a fairly large area, so come with your good walking shoes and wallet. Most of the food vendors accept digital wallets (Alipay/WeChat) which might be a bit easier than carrying around a lot of cash. I would definitely recommend visiting.......even if it's just to walk and take photos.

Having a late lunch here. The team is still very friendly and sweet though everyone looks quite tired. I love the burrata with the creamy, sweet and savoy combo. Other dishes are very yummy too. Will go back and try more.

Visited this bar in Sheung Wan, recommend by one friend, tgt with another friend, whom I hadnt met for a long time, for dinner. . We shared the following dishes: -Peaches & Burrata (HKD130) The dish included pickled cantaloupe, crispy serrano ham, habanero hot honey and herbs. The burrata had an intense milk aroma and was creamy. The sweetness of the cantaloupe moderated the saltiness of the ham, adding textures and complexities to the dish. -Smoked Ceviche (HKD140) The dish consisted of tuna, mackerel, prawn, scallop, sansho cream and tortilla chips. The slightly sour sansho cream paired well with the fresh sashimi. Combining them with the crispy tortilla chips and enjoyed them in one bite elevated the dining experience. -Spicy Rigatoni (HKD160) The dish featured chorizo, calabrian chili, mascarpone and parmesan. Its surface was covered by an abundant amount of parmesan and the chili and chorizo made the dish spicy and smoky. -Rump Steak (HKD230) The steak was paired with potato puree and scallion chili oil. Ordered medium rare, its pink meat looked attractive and had a tender texture. The potato puree was smooth and the chili oil elevated its aroma. For cocktails, I ordered the AL's Iced Tea with Vodka (HKD110), made with English breakfast tea, peach tea and lemon. It was super refreshing and pleasantly sweet. I couldn't quit recall the name of the cocktails ordered by them though🙈. . Not only does this bar serve enjoyable cocktails, but they also provide presentable and savoury food. The staff was super passionate and energetic while serving us, leaving us with a memorable experience. We sat in a semi-opened area, so it was slightly hot while we enjoyed our food.

i don’t usually review restaurants but call me al was exceptional! had a wonderful time celebrating my best friends birthday! the staff was very sweet and attentive and provided excellent service!! the vibes were amazing and so was the food, we had the steak tartare and their signature spicy rigatoni and both were delicious and well-portioned. would definitely visit again!

Came at 6.30pm on Friday and got a seat at the bar. Any time after 7pm will have to wait if no booking. Food was good, liked the burrata. Pasta was a bit dry. HH cocktails $70, good strength and volume. Docked a star because it felt super rushed and they took my drink whilst I was paying and I wasn’t even finished yet! Also throughout the night you can feel them rushing you on everything which wasn’t the most relaxing environment.

Nice little cafe bar situated at a street full of Chinese grocery stores, created the feeling of ‘East meets West’ . Just had a Shiraz during happy hour.

Tried their smash burger and rigatoni. Both were really good and hit the spot. Definitely one of the top 5 smash burgers in HK. Simple but well made.

Immaculate vibes. Been here a couple times now, most recently with a large group of people. My first visit to this market. Spent like 6 hours there but hardly could skim only. Fascinating place. Next time, I will stay closer and spend at least 02 days for this market. However, precautions ... a. Chk prices on temu before buying, generally temu is cheaper b. ai glasses and airbuds need license software so unless they give that, DONT buy. Incredible street, and probably heaven for tech geeks. Being the largest electric market in the world, you can probably find whatever you set your mind to, from legit quality phones, laptops, components, cases, headphones etc., to more or less good and functional copies of all of the previously mentioned. If you are interested in buying anything some tips: 1. Research your product! The malls are huge, and there are so many products that look so similar to the originals, but are just cheap copies. If you do go that route, and are interested in copies, try to test them on site. 2. Haggle. You can always drop the price, at least by a couple of RMB, but don't ever accept the first offer. If you buy multiple articles or in bulk, chances of getting a better price increase rapidly. There are also numerous booths along the street as well as inside some of the malls where technicians would fix your device usually on spot. Similar principles to the ones when buying a product apply here. Additionally, it may be advised to have always a visual of the device being repaired. Some technicians may take the device to fix it in the back and then replace some of the functional components with imitations.

A satisfying experience on the whole. The food could have been better - especially the grilled beef and the rib eye steak. The happy hour drinks are good, but the menu lacks flexibilitu.
