1Splendid China Folk Village

Theme park
Splendid China Folk Village is a large theme park in Shenzhen featuring over 100 miniature reproductions of China's historic locations and cultural shows. The park is divided into two areas: Splendid China Miniature Park and China Folk Culture Village.
Splendid China and Folk Culture Village is a popular cultural theme park in Shenzhen. It consists of 2 areas; Splendid China and Folk Culture Village. It is a very big park. Come with proper shoes and be prepared for a long, long walk. The Splendid China area features 82 famous landmarks in China including the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Leshan Buddha, Potala Palace and the Terracotta Army. The Folk Culture Village features reproduction of 27 villages of the ethnic groups in China. Cultural and folk dances are performed at certain times of the day. Ticket price : RMB220 per adult. No discount for foreign senior citizens.
CS C — Google review
The shows and performances are quite good. The admission ticket price is not really worth it, as there are a lot of extra fee/cost for activities when you are inside. The workers in there are not too caring too. They don't volunteer any information and only answer specifically what you ask. If you watch the 430pm show, then you will miss a lot of activities as they close at 530pm even though the park closes at 10pm or something.
Helen M — Google review
In Shenzhen, we visited this park. Location is within walking distance from a metro station. Huge park featuring mini models of China’s famous monuments and nature spots. It is not crowded at all and tickets are very reasonably priced. Only set back is that it is not very maintained as some of the areas needed a new coat of paint and lots of fallen leaves everywhere.
S L — Google review
A great place to experience a bit about the Chinese culture and history. One side of the park has miniature adaptations.of famous landmarks such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors and much more. The other side is more about the shows and you sometimes need to pay additional to watch them. You can easily spend a whole day here, but about 3 hours was enough for us as it was too hot
William L — Google review
I came mainly for the opera show, and honestly, it was worth the trip on its own. I didn’t know what to expect — I’ve seen traditional Chinese performances before, but this one had a different kind of scale and energy. The staging, costumes, even the transitions between scenes — everything felt polished but still full of emotion. Even without fully understanding the language, I could feel the story through the movement and music. There were moments that felt intense, others poetic, and some just visually stunning. It didn’t feel like a tourist trap — more like a cultural performance that was actually meant to move you. I also had dinner inside the park. Food was nothing mind-blowing. Decent portions, clean place, and I didn’t have to fight through crowds to eat in peace, which was a nice surprise. If you’re into live performance and want a taste of something traditional but grand, the opera show here is worth seeing. Just don’t rush it — come early, eat there, and enjoy the vibe at your own pace.

Splendid china: One of the must go places when you are in shenzhen. Price was around 40 SGD per pax and we got our tickets from Trip.com. You might want to allocate 1 day for this attraction because there are so many things to see. We arrived at 11am and left around 8pm at night to enjoy the night scenery and shows. The buildings and props were slightly dated considering they were build in the 90s. Would highly recommend everyone to watch the lost dessert (at 2/2.30pm) and the night show (at 7.45pm). The shows are free and it was really worth it. My favourite is the lost desert because it was our first time watching an actual ancient china fighting scene where the actors and actresses wore ancient armours and rode horses to act out a show there. Food is available there (though at a steep price), would recommend getting a hot dumpling (it was huge) if you are on a tight budget at this place (fan lou) and it was really very filling for 10 RMB. Check out the menu from the pictures uploaded in this review. Would not recommend the stir fried river beef because it was too hard to chew on.
Yingying — Google review
The ticket a bit expensive but if you want to spend the morning/day is worth it. Very good performances and very nice. Good chinease food.

Splendid China Folk Village is a theme park including two areas (Splendid China Miniature Park & China Folk Culture Village) located in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. The park's theme reflects the history, culture, art, ancient architecture, customs and habits of various nationalities. It is one of the world's largest scenery parks in the amount of scenarios reproduced. The park is developed and managed by the major travel and tourist corporation, China Travel Service. Splendid China is situated by the Shenzhen Bay in a tourist area of Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Over 100 major tourist attractions have been miniaturized and laid out according to the map of China. Most attractions have been reduced on a scale of 1:15. It is divided into Scenic Spot Area and Comprehensive Service Area. The entire park covers 30 hectares. There are cars and trains to transport visitors around the park, making it possible to visit the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Three Gorges Dam, Potala Palace and the Terracotta Army in one day. The park also hosts several shows depicting various events in Chinese History (e.g. a horse riding show depicting a battle led by Genghis Khan), Chinese Cultural Show, etc. Some of the shows are only performed on weekends.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Shenzhen, the Dafen Oil Painting Village is a fascinating cultural hotspot that showcases an impressive array of oil paintings and artistic talent. This unique district is characterized by its maze-like alleyways filled with workshops where over 5,000 artists diligently create stunning replicas and original works. Since its inception in 1989, when Hong Kong painter Huang Jiang established a hub for art creation and trade, Dafen has evolved into a bustling center for both local and international art enthusiasts.
Originally a center for masterwork replica production, Dafen Village has expanded to include numerous art workshops and original artwork studios. While replicas are still available, visitors can now also explore a variety of original works, galleries and local coffee shops. It’s a great place to explore at a relaxed pace for a couple of hours.
April C — Google review
We picked the wrong time to come (early 2025) as it was CNY. Still, a handful of stores were opened so we could get a basic feeling of what this painting village would look like in normal workday. We also managed to visit an art gallery for free so it wasn't too bad after all. Of course, if I come again I might have a better understanding of the site and give it a better rating.
Philip ( — Google review
Really enjoyed walking around this district and have a look at those exceptional oil paintings. Ended up bringing a few back home! Definitely worth it!
Annalisa B — Google review
A wide selection of paintings is available. Some shops also offer customized painting options. The surroundings are remarkably serene.
Fen R — Google review
A must go to visit when you are in China. It’s basically a market place for painting arts and many other arts in different mediums including some sculptures. Shops can be a consolidation of many different artists as there are thousands of artists in the country. Some can be simple and commercial, but some really is a great authentic artist. Love the overall ambience… visiting one of an artist friend there and got nice conversations on his tea table. Love the way they do arts while sustaining life… also found couple of interesting stores at back, where they use modern almost satire of famous art in the world into different way of presenting it in much more modern and contemporary… very refreshing. While majority shops are pretty standard, they also has some areas that are very nicely set like museums, collec of many different great quality products, some old houses and gates being kept as it was hundreds or thousands years ago… definitely worth the trip and highly recommend to visit.
Arti S — Google review
Very cool street of painting shops with different styles, and you can even try your hand at any of the diy workshops to paint your own painting or make a pottery. Nice street for a short spin!
Chris S — Google review
Must must must visit while in shenzhen. It's a hidden gem. The whole place is very serene. There are like 50+ shops selling paintings and all of them are beautiful. Cars are not allowed inside so the whole village is quiet. The best thing about it is that it is not crowded at all or destroyed by mass tourism. It feels very authentic. Easily accessible by metro from the city center. I would say it's worth de detour of any china trip.

Lianhuashan Park, also known as Lotus Hill Park, is a serene oasis located in the heart of Shenzhen. Spanning an impressive 370 acres, this urban retreat offers visitors a delightful blend of nature and culture. With its lush gardens, expansive lawns, and scenic viewpoints, it's the perfect spot for leisurely strolls or family outings. The park features various attractions including temples that provide insight into traditional practices and a notable bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping.
This park is huge and amazing!! You can stay in this park all day! So much fun for kids and families. They have good facilities like bathrooms and sinks, plenty of food vendors and you can order whatever you like to get delivered by drone! There's hiking paths, a lake, playgrounds, benches, etc.. You can access this park by the Metro Train as well to help with the parking. I highly recommend coming to this park on a weekend with your family.
Friendly N — Google review
Simply superb! I didn’t have enough time exploring the whole park (it seems like a big park as shown in the map), just a small hike to go visit Deng Xiaoping Statue before sunset. Very nice, clean and quiet place, it feels like a breeze of nature in the middle of a highly industrialized city like Shenzhen. I love the cozy book/coffe shop downhill as well. Good architecture. Another +1 for this place is the seated toilet 😉. Personally like it as a tourist. I will go back to this place and will plan to spend a full day here.
Trang N — Google review
Huge park with lots of things to do like Picknicks, walking, dancing etc. You can easily spend half a day here. There are many vending machines and many vendors which sell different kind of food, drinks and things. Of course the view of Shenzhen from the top is a real highlight. It’s a pretty easy walk up there but with the heat and the humidity it was really unbearable for me that day. So just take it slow and bring water with you!
Tila N — Google review
Visiting Lianhuashan Park today was an absolute delight! This place is a hidden gem-impeccably clean, lush, and beautifully designed. The moment you step in, the vibrant greenery and fresh air make you forget you're in a bustling metropolis. ✳️ Highlights: ✅ Stunning Views – The hike up to Dengta Hill is totally worth it! The panoramic view of Shenzhen’s skyline, including Ping An Finance Centre, is breathtaking. ✅ Perfect for Relaxation – Whether you're jogging, having a picnic, or just unwinding by the lotus ponds, the park offers a peaceful escape. ✅ Well-Maintained – Spotless pathways, manicured lawns, and plenty of shaded areas make it a joy to explore. ✅ Family-Friendly – Spacious playgrounds and open fields are great for kids and outdoor activities. A big shoutout to the park authorities for maintaining such a clean and serene environment. Whether you're a local or a traveler, Lianhuashan Park is a must-visit for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike! A Green Oasis in the Heart of Shenzhen! 🌿

A peaceful escape in the heart of the city! Lianhuashan Park is a beautiful green space with plenty of walking paths, scenic views, and tranquil spots to relax. The park is well-maintained and has a nice mix of nature and art, including statues and gardens. The highlight is the view from the top of the hill, where you can see a panoramic view of Shenzhen’s skyline. It’s a great place for a morning jog, a leisurely stroll, or just to unwind. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Shenzhen.
Neel ( — Google review
Quite steep to reach the viewpoint but achievable for large body size if you give yourself more than an hour to reach there from the base. The view is magnificent!
Syukri R — Google review
We missed the sunset but still managed to catch the view at observatory point before it was all dark. You can catch a panoramic view of the city from there, best to reach before 5:30pm to catch the sunset city view. It is quite a climb up to the point, with rest stops along the way, do give yourself about 5 to walk up.

Dameisha Beach, also known as Dameisha Seaside Park, is a top destination in Shenzhen, China. This picturesque beach offers stunning mountain views and stretches over 1.8 kilometers along the crystal-clear waters of Dapeng Bay. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as swimming, water sports like jet skiing and parasailing, beach volleyball, and even barbecue parties on the soft sandy shores. The park is divided into different zones for different activities including leisure and water sports.
Clean and calm overall—one of the best. I found it unique as it’s surrounded by mountains, making it the perfect place to relax. Had a great time here. Also, there are many 4–5 star hotels nearby, making it very convenient to travel with the metro.
Shivani — Google review
It's a nice and clean Sea beach very near to Dameisha Subway 🚉. The waters are blue and near the Food over bridge it's turns into black. You will be loved it to go there.
Subhajit D — Google review
I went on a summer day, Friday afternoon and the beach was full of crowds and a whole lot of children running around. It wouldn’t be such a good idea as a getaway, but I guess the dining establishment along the beach would offer something for everyone. I sat down for a drink to cool down and enjoy the sound of the waves and that served my purpose. To my surprise despite huge crowds there, the water really was very clean and the sand was soft and fine. There are more adventurous water sports options there such as paragliding. Very accessible by metro, get off at Dameisha station.
Helen J — Google review
It's one of the best known beaches in China and, combined with different tiers of hotels and shopping arcades, I'm sure it's it's one of the most visited. With the opening of Dameisha subway station right next to it (exit A), it was just jammed with people. Btw, the decorations at the station echoes the beautiful beach outside. Don't forget to take some pictures on the way out.

Place is great but I don’t recommend going during weekends, there are gonna be huge amount of people

The closest sandy bench from Shenzhen. Clean, well maintained and safe (because of the security and x-ray machine on entry). It could get very crowded on weekends.

Shenzhen Bay Park is a popular destination offering a variety of activities for visitors. It's a favorite spot for locals and tourists to unwind and enjoy the city's relaxed atmosphere. The park features cycling and jogging trails, beaches, and opportunities to observe migratory birds. With its well-maintained facilities, spaciousness, waterfront promenade, sports fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas, Shenzhen Bay Park provides something for everyone.
A beautiful and peaceful waterfront park in the heart of Futian! Perfect for morning walks, evening jogs, or just relaxing with family and friends. The long coastline, well-maintained cycling and walking tracks, and fresh sea breeze make it one of the best places in Shenzhen to enjoy nature. You can see stunning views of the bay and even Hong Kong across the water on a clear day.

It's a nice and clean place for Weekend hangout with friends. Although the water is not much clean there. This area is like a home of seagull birds. you can find a nice view of Hongkong from there.
Subhajit D — Google review
Super directly by the sea. Extremely spacious, with few seating options and little shade. Worth a visit. You can rent a bike on site and walk around, but unfortunately it was over 30 degrees yesterday, so there wasn’t much to do except hide in the shade.
Maya — Google review
Like most public parks and attractions in China, this waterfront park is huge. Good thing is, it's very accessible by subway and you have almost unlimited viewing angles from Shenzhen's southern-most district. We came in here on the 2nd day of the CNY and boy, it was packed. When most of the shops and stores were closed for the holiday, people flocked here for pleasure. The weather was beautiful and no wonder people were having a great time there. Having said that, summer could be brutal as I found little shades along it massive waterfront. I wouldn't recommend my friend to visit on any day with temp higher than 30 deg.

park admission is free and easily accessible by subway; need only 5 minutes walk from the exit of shenzhen bay park subway station, it opens until late at night and you can get a beautiful view of shenzhen bay from here. There is a gym with various exercise machines in the park, so actually can spend quite a few hours here including eating various chinese style delicacies at the subway food mall near the exit. Across the main road, there is another large entertainment venue 欢乐天地 comprised of an aquarium, movie theatre, food malls and lantern show 燈会 and various acrobatic performance events even change face show 变脸

Sea World in Shenzhen is a vibrant entertainment zone featuring a variety of dining options, bars, and a shopping mall. It's known for its lively nightlife scene, with popular western bars and opportunities to enjoy live music from talented Filipino bands. Visitors can also experience the unique ambiance of having a drink on a retired Russian ship. Additionally, the area offers an array of outdoor lounges, bars, and dance spots for those seeking nocturnal fun.
A gigantic area that is full of eateries, offering a wide range of Chinese cuisines and foods from various countries (e.g. Turkish, Korean, Thai, Japanese, German, American, Mexican). The square also features numerous food stalls. There's always something happening, such as balloons vendors and musical performances, making it an interesting place to visit. It's connected to the waterfront, where you can watch a beautiful sunset and visit the cultural museum. We enjoyed the visit very much. The Turkish restaurant is fantastic.
Charlotte L — Google review
Shekou Sea World isn’t just a sightseeing spot—it’s a lifestyle hub with a great mix of food, entertainment, and waterfront vibes. After a relaxing stroll around the iconic Minghua ship, we decided to have dinner at Grissini Kitchen, one of the many restaurants lining the vibrant plaza. The location was spot on—right by the ship, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating options. We chose to sit indoors for comfort but still had a clear view of the Sea World promenade, which comes alive at night with lights, music, and people out enjoying the scene. Grissini Kitchen offers hearty Western comfort food, and we ordered pasta, pizza, and grilled items. Everything was satisfying—flavors were familiar and portions generous. The kids enjoyed the cheesy pizza while I loved the creamy truffle pasta. Service was friendly and unrushed, letting us soak in the atmosphere. What makes dining here special is the overall Sea World experience. It’s more than just the food—it’s the waterfront setting, the music echoing through the plaza, and the energy of locals and expats mingling in a relaxed, open space. Definitely a great way to spend the evening in Shekou.
Crumpled N — Google review
Amazing dining place around Shekou! A lot of establishment with different cuisines to choose from. Prices are not that bad too, considering the area looks like a premium spot. Amazing views of buildings too with different kinds of architecture. Highly suggest if you want to have a nice dining experience in Shenzhen.

A part of South Shenzhen to walk around with plenty of restaurants, cafe's, shops and a cinema. It's along the water so it has a great view. There are a handful of international restaurants here with some people speaking English to help foreigners.
Friendly N — Google review
As others have said, this would be a great place to chill and eat/drink with friends and family during the weekend or evenings. Unfortunately, we came when it was raining, and there really weren't that many places accessible without being exposed to the rain. I guess having an umbrella would have been better. It didn't hide the potential of the place for a meal or drinks

(Translated by Google) Although it is small, it is the best (domestic) wetland park I have ever been to - at least there are no "entertainment facilities" here, so those who want "entertainment" will not come here. And I was very happy to see the long-tailed warbler here feeding its huge adopted son, the cuckoo, as if nothing had happened! ...Unfortunately, there are some errors in the popular science content in the park. For example, it is clearly written as "myna", but the picture is of European starlings; it is clearly called black water chicken, but the pinyin is written as "heiweishazhui (black-tailed sand cone)". )". I have reported the problem to the volunteers in the garden, and I will pay attention to see if there are any changes next time I go there.

Nestled in the mountainous hinterland of Xiaomeisha seaside resort area, about 30km from central Shenzhen, OCT East is a sprawling resort comprising three main themed areas: Knight Valley, Tea Stream Valley, and Wind Valley. Visitors can explore attractions such as Ancient Tea Town for traditional tea experiences and the recreated Swiss Alps holiday resort of Interlaken with its accompanying hotel and spa.
The place is literally run-down, and 80% of it is closed. It is only good for sightseeing. It is a waste of ¥200 for a ticket per person, plus an additional ¥40 to ride on their cart to take you up to the cable car.

The Window of the World Ticket Office is a large theme park that offers visitors the chance to explore miniature replicas of around 130 famous global attractions. From the Eiffel Tower to the Niagara Falls, and from the Sydney Opera House to Mount Rushmore, this park provides a curious glimpse at how various world landmarks are portrayed in miniaturized form. The replicas are found in different proportions, such as 1:1, 1:5, and 1:15.
The place is absolutely beautiful and worth the walk and effort. However, I recommend avoiding a visit in the morning as the weather is extremely hot and humid. The temperature improves after 3 PM. Make sure to bring a map if you plan to explore all the attractions—it will take at least 6 hours. You’ll need to drink plenty of water, and I highly recommend trying the iced watermelon juice. It’s a refreshing choice! 👍🏻

This is a big theme park with famous miniature buildings / tourist attractions from all around the world. We went at night to see the lights but the rides and shows were all closed. I recommend going around 2pm so you have about 5 hours to experience the shows and the rides. There is a lot of walking, kind of like going to Disneyland. It's a fun place to go with kids and there's some small parks inside for the kids to play in.

I visited Windows of the World in October 2024. It was quite crowded, but still a fun and interesting place. The weather was hot, so make sure to bring water and sun protection. The park has impressive miniature versions of famous landmarks from all over the world—Eiffel Tower, pyramids, Taj Mahal, and more. It’s a great place for taking photos and spending a few hours walking around. It’s conveniently located near the metro station, which made it very easy to get there—I took the metro directly. The underground area connected to the station is full of shops, food courts, and small restaurants, so it’s a good place to eat or cool off before or after your visit.

Window of the World is a very big theme park in Shenzhen. It features replicas of all the iconic and famous landmarks in the world. It is divided into 8 geographical zones. They are World Plaza, Asia Zone, Oceania Zone, Europe Zone, Africa Zone, America Zone, Sculpture Zone, and International Street. Among the landmarks reproduced here are the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Great Pyramid, Taj Mahal, Big Ben, Angkor Wat, Arc de Triomphe and Kek Lok Si. There is a elaborate cultural dance and acrobatic show at 8.00pm every night. It is very entertaining with attractive lights, music, costumes, props and backdrops. Do not miss this show when you visit this park. Entrance ticket to the park (inclusive of the evening show) is RMB220 per adult, no discount for foreign senior citizens.

To enter this theme park, you need to go up some serious long stairs. So it’s challenging for the disabled and elderly and an escalator or elevator would be nice. The theme park consists out of different areas with landmarks and historical monuments from all around the world and it does take some time to visit them all. Best to follow the trail the theme park has plotted out. When I was there some attractions are being renovated and could not visit them.

First things first, if u don't book ahead of your trip, even just a day ahead, you'll pay a premium. So if u wanna save, Book for tomorrow and don't come today type of deal. Next, for the love of God, if u can, bear the lineup up at the Electric scooter lineup and rent one for your family. It'll save you a ton of sweat equity lol. The park itself is awesome. Alot of locals , even taxi drivers, will tell u "you will regret it". Some say they felt scammed cuz everything u see is a miniature of what they truly are. When in reality, it isn't that bad. We went during a heat wave and man, it might be best to bring an extra shirt or two and tons of Gatorade and not just regular water. The attractions are fun to see. There are tons to do. Beverage/snack stations are in abundance. And gift shops and midway arcade (shooting gallery, hoops etc) are present. Overall, if u plan to see everything this park has to offer, set aside a minimum of 6 hours. Would I visit again? Sure I would. But I would definitely plan ahead knowing what I had learnt from our recent trip.

Wutong Mountain is a forested peak in Shenzhen, offering a network of hiking trails and stepped paths that lead to stunning viewpoints. The scenic area spans across Luohu, Yantian, and Longgang, including attractions like Donghu Park and Fair Lake Botanical Garden. With a total area of 31.
A big mountain to climb and if you did what we did - climb from Wutong Xiao to Wutong Da, its a real serious effort. We went from the smaller mountain crossing over to the bigger mountain and then down, the whole climb taking over 8 hours and it was a little dark when we finished. But also very interesting. Starting off, it looked pleasant, and we saw some warthogs nearly immediately - they were quite passive - I think they scavenge for a lot of food from the tourists visiting - We climbed as far as the observation deck and tower. From here you can go across to Wutong Da. After a while you will come to a big area where you can get some snacks and drinks in a shop. Some people by pass all the hiking and get the bus or drive here from the road. From here its a trek then to the top of Wutong Da, which is the highest peak in Shenzhen. The peak itself isn't anything amazing and is quite busy and not easy to get a good photo. From where we took a quieter, less used route to go down. We took this route as we didn't want to retrace our steps and wanted some new sights. It had many steps and went very deep into the forest. We came across many Woolly Aphid's - which was very interesting to see - . By the time we got down it was nearly pitch dark so we were happy to finish before it was completely black. Then we went for some food, but the next day we were both well knackered. One thing on these mountains is the steps - lots of them - up, down, and around and around - lost of steps - monotonous at times, and tiring. Its not hiking per say, but still if you do enough of them its damn tiring by the end of the day. They have cleverly used tree branches as railings which helps. Also the routes are well sign posted, and also every few km/s there are posts showing how much is left to climb.... which can motivate one to keep going. On the routes up and down you will see many people selling drinks, food, fans, hiking gear, all sorts - even in areas where we thought were quite remote we still seen people selling their wares. Makes one think how they carried so much up to the mountain. The views from both mountains were majestic and you get a great view of Shenzhen city in all its glory. Overall it was a good hike and a memorable trip - but I think perhaps doing the two mountains together was a bit much. Still though I enjoyed it.
Rob N — Google review
Really beautiful for a one-day hiking activity. Total is about 17km to and fro from the main gate to the peak. The last 1km was very steep for me but luckily managed to complete.

I have started from from Wutong South gate, then got the Shenzhen TV Tower. After that I started hiking to the peak of the mountain. Finally finished my hiking at North gate. The metro line 2/8 has station "Wutong Mountain South". The view is really amazing from the peak of the mountain. City view in one side and sea view with Yantian port in other side.
Mohammad A — Google review
Wutong Mountain A must-visit for nature lovers, offering breathtaking views and a refreshing escape from the city. The climb is mainly via stone steps, with well-maintained paths that make the hike pleasant. You can get there by taking the Metro to Wutong Mountain South Station, Exit D. Alternatively, from Liantang Station Exit A, turn left and walk about 800 meters to reach the North Gate.
Hunny M — Google review
There have best Sunrise and sunset view. It’s Shenzhen highest mountain.
Cecile — Google review
It's easy to get to Wutong Village to start the hike up the mountain. Take the 211 from Luohu or the M445 from Huangbeiling exit D. If you take the 211 it stops in the village and you can find the slow road up the mountain by following the main road through the village. The M445 will take you close to the reservoir where the challenging hikes begin. If you get the AMap app it has the trails on the map and they are easy to work out. It is a popular hike so start early if you wish to avoid the crowds. There is an impressive view from the top, but if it is the weekend you will probably encounter a band on the mountain top! Chinese people mostly have no sense of the peace and tranquility of hiking and you will often encounter people hiking playing loud music. So be prepared if that is a problem for you!
Philip W — Google review
I'll update this review with more information when I get back to the US. Take bus 211 from Shenzhen all the way to the end. It will leave you in Wukong village. Walk for 10 minutes to the Wukong Northwest Gate (search it on Google maps, or use Google maps to just head to the only road appearing to go into the mountain). The hike consists of a 3 to 4 mile incline walk on a paved road that zig zags up the mountain. There are several overlook areas. The maps posted along the trail are all in Chinese and in questionable condition, but keep heading for the mark that says "943.7" as that is the highest peak to get to. Eventually you will get to a plaza at which point you can start the final ascent right next to the toilets, or veer to the left more and take a short path (10 minutes) to another place you can ascend. Both lead to the same place. There are some vendors selling foodstuffs along the way up, as well as on the peak, and plenty of toilets. This is definitely a full day hike. I got on the bus at 9:15 am, started the climb around 10:15, and reached the summit at 12:30. By the time I ate lunch, descended (with a few longer stops) and had a snack it was 4 pm. I'm also a relatively quick walker / climber.
Kevin M — Google review
I hiked this place once a week for over a year 2015-2016. This is the best preserved environment in the area, as if you take the trail from saddle down the south side of the mountain it is possible to encounter no one or only a few people. The saddle is high enough to stick into the clouds. If it wasn't for WuTongShan I wouldn't have stayed in Shenzhen as long as I did. Looking at the map I can tell you the trails are not labeled correctly on Google. The satellite view is also outdated. I used to make videos here and used these as classroom resources to teach English and environmental awareness. In April-May look out for small red mountain crabs on the trail.

Love the walk in the park while searching for the drone delivery station. We met a kind man who works in the park who gave us directions. Along the way, we saw coffee kiosks, kids’ playground, an area for holding events as well as kids catching terrapins in a small stream. It brought back wonderful childhood memories of catching fish in small drains near my home in Singapore. The park experience would have been enhanced if the drone delivery included orders from non-local mobiles which are able to use the local Apps.

Now Shenzhen has no shortage of hikes, and these can range from small ones like Nanshan to the larger more difficult ones like Wutong, but there’s one common theme which drives most hiking enthusiasts crazy. Stairs. It sometimes feels more like floor walking than it does hiking, with endless towering stairs above you, you could be in a skyscraper not on a mountain. Now luckily the stairs here are mainly natural style and don’t really feel like stairs. There are some at the start but only for around 10 mins. However in Maluan Mountain there is something different. Gone are the stairs, to be replaced with natural paths and rural trails. Hiking as hiking should be. This is possibly the most authentic hike in the city, with flora, fauna and greenery all around you, you could actually be in another country all together. This hike doesn’t have the sweeping views of the city like some of the other city hikes do, instead you get a slice of rural life in the megacity that is Shenzhen

Zoo
Shenzhen Safari Park is a wildlife zoo in Shenzhen, China, featuring endangered species like giant pandas and South China tigers. It's conveniently located near Xili Lake Holiday Resort and Shenzhen University City, offering a mix of wildlife encounters and modern university life. The resort provides various entertainment options such as fishing, canoeing, swimming, picnicking, and firework displays. Visitors can interact closely with the animals at the park while enjoying daily shows.
Great entertainment for kids, huge space, a lot of animals well taken care of. There are attractions inside you need to pay extra but worth it like riding a camel, feeding tigers from armored car or photos with parrots. Kids loved it, can spend all day inside.
Filip W — Google review
The zoo needs to be updated and the animals need more care. The park itself is huge so I recommend renting a scooter to take you around everywhere. You could spend at least 4 hours here seeing all the animals. They have 2 pandas that we saw today but we didn't get to see any of the tigers. The best part of the park is you can pay about $3 to feed elephants and giraffes! Totally worth it!
Friendly N — Google review
A very beautiful zoo with many animals. The entrance fee is 200 yuan per adult. You can rent a car on site, which costs around €7 per hour. I would definitely recommend doing that because the park is very large and spread out. What immediately caught my attention, though, was that some of the enclosures were far too small — especially for the monkeys. It’s really sad to see the poor animals in such conditions. Another issue is that many visitors throw food at the animals. For example, they buy corn on site and throw it into the enclosures. I’ve never seen anything like that in Germany. This kind of behavior should be stopped. Other than that, it’s a very beautiful park and we really enjoyed our visit.
Maya — Google review
A big zoo near Shenzhen city center. Entrance fare is around 200RMB. There are a lot of animals inside, especially there 2 pandas. The sea world however are not so many fish or sea animals. The place is quite old and need an upgrade.
Nam N — Google review
The animals here definitely need better care and the place needs updating. I really recommend renting the scooters to explore the park. I believe it was 100 yuan per hour. Exploring the entire park by foot is doable but the park is HUGE so renting scooters will definitely help make it a better experience. We used them on and off for 3 or 4 hours. The cool thing about this place is the ability to feed some of the animals. We got to feed elephants, giraffes, and Tigers, and pigs but there were more animals you could feed as well as long as you're willing to pay about 20-30 yuan per food for animal. Be prepared with your wallets though. We had a lady put parrots on our shoulders and take some pictures of us before demanding we pay them 40 yuan or 20 yuan per bird. It all happened so fast we weren't even told the price til after they put the birds on us. When feeding animals like the pigs I noticed quite a few of them were severely sun burnt to the point their skin was peeling off and some were bleeding. We walked into an area where you can view insects and most of them were dead and had mold rotting on their bodies. It looks as though they weren't fed or cared for at all for weeks or months. The same thing with the jellyfish enclosure. Many of them were dead though it was harder to tell unless you looked closely. A lot of the monkeys looked quite depressed too in small cages. I saw an ostrich who was so stressed it had pulled its own feathers off its behind. Not sure what happened to the dolphins that were advertised here. You can tell the animals who make them money like the Tigers, bears, and lions get bigger enclosures and more care. The ponies and camels you can ride also looked in distress sometimes. Their legs looked in pain as they had to stand in place for long periods on concrete. It was a very hot day as well and no water was provided for them. I dont recommend supporting this place. Wish I had spent my time and money elsewhere. Pictures of the conditions some of the animals were in attached.

Zoo worth to go. Recommend to rent the golf cart then you will have a more enjoyable trip. If you want to feed the tiger, you will need to go earlier for queuing.
Edith C — Google review
Great experience for the kids to see lots of animals in one place. Don’t miss the bus trip to see the animal. Recommend to have scoother (120 rmb/hr capacity of 3) or mutiple cart ticket (40 rmb/person) as the area is huge. Buy park ticket online is cheaper than spot buying 200 rmb.
Dipankar R — Google review
You pay 200 yuan to enter which is a reasonable price for a zoo, but then you expect that you will be able to do at least basic things for free like the train, the safari and basically everything. It’s a shame how this park is really squeezing every yuan out of everyone’s pocket. On top of that many animal cages are way too small and are not properly suited for the animals they have. On top of that it’s also the task of the zoo and the zookeepers to feed the animals the appropriate food and the appropriate amount of food. But in this zoo people are just throwing garbage food at the animal 24/7, which makes the animals sick.

Dongmen Pedestrian Street, also known as Legislative Jiaoyushi, is a bustling shopping district in Shenzhen with a rich history dating back over 300 years. This commercial epicenter is filled with an array of malls, department stores, and shops vying for visitors' attention. The area's historical significance is evident through remnants like the Siyue Academy, which was once an Ancestral Hall during the Ming Dynasty and has since been repurposed as a private school.
A large area consisting of some older shopping plaza with very few shops inside, so don't bother going in. There are plenty of Food Stalls and Restaurants on the Street level to choose from. I went during the afternoon, so there was not as many Stalls open, but I was still able to sample some tasty street foos

A fashion area ! Lots of shops and malls to go for shopping. My advice: go into a mall a look for an underground mall, there are nice shops too. The streets are clean, and lots of street food.
Anika — Google review
Travel on the Shenzhen metro to get here. Cash not usually accepted - everything is on AliPay (China not HK). So make sure you have this set-up before making the trip to China. AliPay for transport tickets and all payments. Open street shopping district in Shenzhen. Fashion and sports stores galore with many restaurants and eateries. A very lively and busy shopping district. Every store is pumping out all different kinds of music which adds to the atmosphere. Enter shops as a tourist and do not be surprised to be chaperoned by a member of the sales team and offered all sorts of goods. Most goods offered cheaper than in Hong Kong.

Station : Laojie Exit: D or E Shopping, underground or above. I find what they offer above is worth the time as there's many local brand and they are good. Too many to choose, only time ....as for food, I am not a foodie but there's plenty there and a McD. Massage at one spa I went was not as cheap as some I went in other cities but understandable, as it's near HK.

Nice and big shopping area. There are many kinds of items from toys to dresses, luggags to beauty tuffs, steertfood, dine in restaurants, and some malls. This area is closed to the electronics center of Shenzhen. You can buy a shopping cart with a trolley to carry your purchased items. Negotiation is possible in many local shops. Ali pay is accepted almost in every where. The only problem I lived was not because of the shops but the DiDi app. It could not locate where I am properly and 2 drivers passed me since if you can not explain the drivers when they call you where you are even you are perhaps waiting 1 min away they can not pick up you. I tried to fet the help of locals for the pick-up location description, but they rejected to help. This stressed me out, especially while my battery was dying and some rude people stopped by with car/ bike and started to ask me direct questions or insisted on taking me where I wanna go🥶

We went on a Saturday morning. The place was humming with people out shopping, eating and enjoying themselves. Lots of families too. A nice area to eat and shop.

One of the earliest commercial area in Shenzhen, Dongmen Pedestrian street is now a neon-lit streetscape, full of bargain retail shops and casual food outlets. I like to wander around here and indulge on Chinese-style desserts, especially the silky smooth, buffalo milk and ginger custard that rivals the famed Australian Dairy Company in Hong Kong.

I visited Dongmen Pedestrian Street during my visit to Shenzhen. This is a very lively area with a large variety of shops and restaurants. It's a fairly large area, so come with your good walking shoes and wallet. Most of the food vendors accept digital wallets (Alipay/WeChat) which might be a bit easier than carrying around a lot of cash. I would definitely recommend visiting.......even if it's just to walk and take photos.

Splendid China Folk Culture Village, located in Shenzhen, is a must-visit destination for those wanting to explore the diverse landscapes and cultures of China. The park features miniature replicas of famous Chinese attractions like the Ming Tombs and Potala Palace. In the Folk Culture Villages section, visitors can experience traditional costumes, houses, and folk performances from various ethnic groups such as Yi, Miao, Li, Uygur, and Tibetan.
Its a Chinese cultural and folklore showcase from different regions of China. A China theme park. Go early to catch many different shows. Saw the 4.30 and 6 pm show. Talented acrobats, dancers with dazzling costumes. Missed the outdoor show with horses and the 7.45 pm 3D show. After sunset the whole place lit up. On the left is a big area with colourful lights. Worth a visit.

For general overview and understanding about a small glimpse of China provinces and all the tribes and their cultures, pretty much impressive! Big area, but very much walkable. Altho they also have train, horse carriage, golf rides for rental. There’s also wooden boat 🛶 on the river where they put dramatic foggy around… some areas has come with proper restaurants which is very great and there are also some shows. Very green areas and well maintained. Ticket cost RMB220 per person, there’s also locker room at front where you can store your jacket and bags.
Arti S — Google review
In short, come here only if you have time to kill. The area is very rundown, many of the sections were either closed off, or were under construction. For example, the animal enclosures were all empty, the treetop walk was closed, and what was supposed to be a mini waterpark was empty and cordoned off. Sure, there are activities within the park. However, your ticketed entrance does not cover them, you have to pay as you go. This turned out to be a disappointing 200RMB walk in the park. Splendid indeed.

Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden Parking Lot is a must-visit attraction in Shenzhen, China. Nestled near the stunning Fairy Lake, this garden offers a diverse array of plants and flowers, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike. The botanical garden boasts an impressive collection of tropical and subtropical plants, with over 8,000 species thriving alongside the city's reservoir.
Fairylake Botanical Park is a large park to walk, with plenty to see for the nature lovers. Allocate 4-6 hours depending on how long you want to visit. We took almost 4.5 hours but covered a quick tour only. Definitely a must visit! What's to see: 1. Hongfa temple 2. Buddhist Pine garden 3. Bonsai Garden 4. Cacti & Succulent garden 5. Petrified Forest 6. Paleontology museum (closed when we visited) 7. Genesriad garden 8. Fern garden Entry fee is RMB15. You can take the bus costs RMB3 to the Hongfa temple grounds, then walk around the park.
Tom C — Google review
The place is huge with several different gardens. There is a temple inside called Hongfa Temple, some pagodas, several botanical gardens, a bonsai area, plus a lake. So there is plenty to see. Unfortunately, it gets insanely crowded on the weekend. Plus all the buildings are made to look ancient but they were all built in the 1990s. And most of the paths are just roads so it's not all that pleasant to walk around. If you go on a weekday when no one is there, it can be nice. But the weekends suck.
Mike V — Google review
This place is a great spot to visit. We came here unexpectedly and weren't disappointed. The place is best accessed via Metro. Just one Station from Liantang Port. Then walk up the road past the various stores selling crafts and snacks. It cost 15RMB to enter but it is well worth it. Scan the QR code to buy online you will need to input your ID and china phone number. Or pay cash at the ticket booth We travelled by bus (3RMB) to the ferry lake and walked back. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful. If you are in Liantang Port area and you have a few hours available then this could be for you.
HK D — Google review
The park covers a very large area. The temple is nice to see, it is a rather long walk, but you can take a bus. There are several beautiful gardens, I specifically liked the orchids garden. There is also a nice lake, where you can see lots of birds. You can also hike all the way to the too of the wutong mountain but that will take several hours.
Henk B — Google review
This is a very big garden with various sub gardens and a big lake. You need to allocate at least half a day inside the botanical garden if not a full day, to truly be able to appreciate each site. The Hongfa temple itself is huge. And needs time to walk around. It has many levels and overlook beautiful sceneries. Wear proper walking shoes for all the trampling around. Beautiful lake side walks, trails and scenic gardens. I especially like the Fossil Forest. It was amazing! Please make time to see this beautiful Botanical garden with many interesting conservatories. Easily accessible by Underground train or Taxi. After paying for entrance fees, a bus takes you up the hill top for a minimal amount of RMB3. Free entrance to Botanical garden and free bus fares for Adults above 60years. Please show your passport at entrance and to the busman.

Nestled in the bustling Luohu District of Shenzhen, KK100, also known as Kingkey 100, stands tall at an impressive height of 441.8 meters with its striking 100 floors. This architectural marvel is not just a skyscraper; it houses a luxurious hotel, modern office spaces, and a public observation deck that offers stunning panoramic views of the vibrant city skyline.

My hostel was quite near here so I enjoyed looking at the outside of this tower and enjoying the light patterns dancing along it each night but this review is mostly of the bar at the top. When you want to visit the bar you go to the inquiry desks at the ground floor and they'll tell you your options. The bar has a minimum charge (I think it was 200 RMB) which you pay at the bottom and they give you a voucher to take up. When you settle the final bill they'll subtract the value of the voucher and you pay the balance, if there is any. Keep in mind that taxes and service charges aren't included in the menu so if you're trying to calculate what to order to reach the voucher value then you'll need to take the taxes into account. Service was great and no complaints about the food or drinks. Obviously they are expensive but I can imagine them being a lot more expensive given that you're enjoying them at the top of this amazing tower. The views from the bar actually aren't quite as good as at the restaurant on the next level down so that might actually be better option. Either way, they don't mind you stopping off on that level to take a look (provided you've paid your voucher of course). A French guy that works there started chatting to me and said that the view is really good for sunset which had been my original plan to enjoy but I ended up getting there late and missed it.

Mountains
Yangtai Mountain Forest Park, also known as Yangta Shan Senlin Gongyuan, is a picturesque forest park in the northwest of Shenzhen, covering 28.52 square kilometers. The main attraction is the 500-meter-high Yangtai Mountain, surrounded by a beautiful reservoir and lush native and exotic vegetation. It's a haven for wildlife enthusiasts with its abundant fauna. The mountain trails are well-maintained and safe to explore, offering cooler temperatures and an escape from urban noise.
Amazing views. Lot of trails. Glad that there is not gondola etc. only hiking.
Klaus S — Google review
Yangtai Mountain offers a fantastic hiking experience with breathtaking views, and here are some tips can enhance your trip: - Opt for the higher summit (大羊台山顶) for stunning views, as the lower summit (小羊台山顶) has obstructed scenery due to big stones. - Be prepared to expend 5,000 kJ or 1,000 calories if you plan on conquering both summits. - Enjoy small picnics along the way with photogenic rock seats conveniently spaced every 10 minutes to the peak. - Most of the hike is shaded by trees, saving you from sunburn, but remember to bring a sunbrella for the barren summits. - Toilets and snack shops are available approximately every 30 minutes of hiking for your convenience. - Be cautious near the peaks as the stairways have a pizza slice shape, and watch your step, especially on slightly tilted stairs. - Stay alert to insects and snakes, though rare, hiking with a buddy can provide reassurance. - Take a moment to savor the northern Shenzhen scenery once you reach the summits. - For easy access, use the eastern entrance closer to the Yangtai Mountain subway station 烟台山地铁站 and return the same way for a convenient trip. Enjoy an adventure-packed hike and unforgettable views at Yangtai Mountain! 🏞️🚶‍♂️

(Translated by Google) advantage: - Cooler - The mountain trails are fairly well maintained and there are no particularly dangerous places. - Environmental protection is okay, although some people litter - There are no loudspeakers playing civilized travel or anything all the time. - Wild trails are also maintained for everyone to explore shortcoming: - Road signs are not clear enough - Friends who are climbing mountains for the first time will be confused.

The Shenzhen Museum located in Futian district is one of the city’s not to be missed gems, offering fascinating historical exhibits from the ancient to the modern and is actually three museums packed into one huge complex that is an architectural marvel by itself. The current highlight is the Pingcheng and Yungang Grottoes Art in the Northern Wei Dynasty Exhibition at the History and Folk Culture Division in Civic Centre where visitors can check out the 9 meter tall replica of Yungang Grottoes Cave 12, famously known as the “Music Cave”. that was built between 470 and 494AD in Northern Wei’s capital Pingcheng (now Datong, Shanxi Province). Was well worth the high speed rail ride in from Hong Kong.

The clerk introduced several special teas. I picked snow chrysanthemum, heated water with the original dried chrysanthemum, and drank the fragrance. Specialty sweet potato chips The appetizer includes fried sweet potato slices, which are crispy and topped with sesame seeds. They are fragrant and slightly sweet. You can't stop eating one slice. Serve lemon juice to refresh before shizuan tofu. Do not cook it. Zuan Tofu (top position) Wang Luo Jian’s dish turns out to have gone through a complicated process! "One pound of chicken, one pound of ecological pork, and three pounds of organic fresh fish" are cooked into golden soup! Eat it with the tofu that is full of bean flavor. The bean flavor and the delicious soup stock are very delicious. Ningxiang pork Hunan Province's famous agricultural product "Flowered Pig" is one of the four famous pig breeds in China. The flowered pig is very fragrant when fried with chili pepper, and it is first-class when served as a meal.
