A real chilled bar overlooking the river. Great service. I had chicken snack, it’s quite pricey considering the amount and tasted average. I heard, a friend said pizza is good. The place is quite large with many areas to preferences like river terrace with lying pillow, bar counter, tables. Location wise, it’s quite deep in a small alley but not that difficult to find.

Quite good sunset experience in here. Very nice place located at the end of a dead end street. The setup of the bar is super nice and chill, you can easily relax and enjoy the view. There’s a happy hour on Lao cocktails, they were good and couldn’t feel the Lao Lao much but refreshing anyway. Recommend this place for sunset, the Freedom fries were good as well, you can be sure it is homemade.

The food was lush, the scenery was beautiful and overall a lovely experience. It’s chilled during the day and then like a bar at night. Many vegetarian and vegan options so me and my partner could both eat happy there. Plus it’s reasonably priced for travellers.

Chilled with a capital C! A great place to lounge around over looking the Nam Khan river. Many cushions, beanbags to relax on or tables and chairs if you want a meal. Nice selection on the menu, especially some exotic smoothie. We visited for lunch and think it must be really cool at night too. Not easy to stumble upon so follow the signs or Google maps!

It's tricky to get there. The location is very relaxed and well furnished directly to the river. We like their philosophy. The staff was friendly but quite slow and unattentive. Everything took much longer than in other places. Food was okay. The pulled pork sandwich was a bit boring from the taste, spices were missing. The chicken sate was a bit dry, but the sauce was excellent.

Great atmosphere and place to relax in a beautiful surrounding. The place is much larger than we expected with plenty of sitting areas, table, chairs, bean bags and even sleeping mats. They seem to encourage you to hangout and chill. We also enjoyed the cauliflower wings, spicy chicken tacos which were not spicy at all, as well as the cocktails and drinks. The prices are comparable to the many restaurants around but without the cool vibe.

5 stars for creating a cool Bohemian place with a great river view and super chill vibe. Hilariously challenging to find without Google Maps, but you will know when you have found "Utopia". Delicious, clean food, a deep, wide coctail menu -- with a Moscow Mule made with their own homemade ginger beer (not bad). Prices are reasonable. Recommend to go before sunset to lounge and enjoy the view. Plan to spend some time here! Don't regret overlooking this place. [Please "like" if you find this review helpful]

Cheap family fun! Excellent way to spend some time if it's rainy outside. 50k kip per person per game. Water and other drinks available. Archery also available outside (undercover area). We went mid morning and no one else was there, but staff friendly and helpful. Worth a short tuk tuk trip there.

So much fun! Came here twice during our time in Luang Prabang, the only place that’s open til late and has a good atmosphere. 50,000lak per person per game of bowling, very straight forward, there’s a bar and many taxis waiting outside all night. If you want to go when it’s busy then I’d say between 11pm-1am is the best time, if you go between 6-9pm it’ll most likely be empty. You can also have a go at archery outside for 20,000lak (7 arrows).

We came here to play bowling, but when we came at around 5pm was it closed. Even though the doors were open. But the locals told us it was closed and to come back around 10.pm. While the doors were open there were no lights on, and everything felt abandoned. We just wanted to play before everyone that just comes there to drink.

went here tonight with my family around 7pm since it was raining out, and we had a great time. it was completely empty besides us. it was 50k(2.50usd)for one bowling game per person & 20k (.93¢usd) per 7 arrows for archery

Fun way to spend an hour in the afternoon with kids. Unexpected! We were the only ones there which was delightful.

Nice place for Bowling, good music and longer open than the bars in the city. But take care of your belongings. Taxi drivers and part of the bar/ staff work together to steal phones etc. and they „find“ them outside, where you get it back for a little bit of money. Taking advantage of tipsy or drunk people. We insist to see the camera footage and they got scared and the phone „suddenly“ appeared again…

I love this kind off BBQ and i got this restaurant accidentally. Food was so good and not so expensive Staffs are so helpful and nice The vibe here is so romantic, you will have the view to the river I came in the evening but during the day have a best view also Highly recommend 👍

Lovely peaceful riverside setting, cool and relaxing. The fresh buffalo meat was delicious, and the broth was rich and full of flavor.

Are you a vegetarian? There is a dish here that blew my mind. Warm tomato dip, fried mushrooms and a warm aubergine dip, served with sticky rice, seaweed crackers and cabbage leaves. Divinely delicious. The site is beautiful, with varied seating and view on the river. We came here for lunch and then did the silver workshop right next door. A perfect day.

My smoothie had *metal springs* in it. After the first one I found, I showed them the second piece of metal spring I spit into my hand (maybe 1/4 inch long) and kindly asked for a new drink. They brought a new drink that visibly had 1 metal spring floating in it and I told them I will just take a Pepsi. When I checked out, they offered a 10% discount and 2 coupons for a free drink (when you order food). The food is delicious but I am deeply disappointed in the danger of the metal contamination and that frankly they tried to use the same machine twice that was causing issue. They told me after my second drink was contaminated they stopped using it.

Excellent atmosphere with view of the Mekong River. Very peaceful surrounding. We came here end of April and it was quite hot but a lot less people which made it extra enjoyable. We got the bamboo fish sticky rice. I would come back.

Not quite as good as it used to be. The food was mediocre, the cocktails are buy one/get one free at happy hour (but you have to choose the same one... 🤨) and the staff were loitering around, carrying on and playing on their phones like kids. Very disappointing, considering I normally come here every time I'm in Luang Prabang but I'll probably go somewhere on the other side of the river from now on.

Renowned chilling spot in LP for tourists (I didn't find many locals come here). Okay food, okay drinks. Consider ordering Lao BBQ here as prices were way too high compared with other local BBQ (Sindat) in town. Good view of Nam Khan river though. No car parking. Bikes only.

What a cool little place! Warm, inviting and inspiring. The drinks I had were very good... Sure, they may be a little pricier than alternatives, but I was quickly inspired to have more drinks so I could soak up that atmosphere a bit longer. I thought it was a kitschy dive bar when I saw it from the street...It is anything but. Worth a visit and a re-visit.

Google Maps says "Open" but a sign on the Bar door says "open in June". Today is 7:00pm, the 3rd of June 2025 and it's still not open. Back in April 2017 the bar was also closed cause Elizabeth, the owner/manager/bartender, didn't like getting wet during the Songkran water festival. Well that"s what she told me in December 2017 when I finally met her. Maybe this "she'll be right" Lao attitude has got to her. Yes Patience is a virtue unless you have spent $$$ getting to this bar in Lao and have less than 1 week in Luang Prabang!

Cool, unassuming bar serving good cocktails from a comprehensive list. Fair prices, good tunes, great bartender. A great place to start the evening before dinner or to end up at after dinner.

The food here was excellent. I especially loved the vegetarian green curry and the fish noodle dish. Prices are surprisingly low for a restaurant of this quality. It’s a vocational training restaurant where young trainees learn hospitality, and everyone was so kind and gentle.

A gorgeous restaurant with delicious food, excellent service and a nice ambience as the monks in the nearby temple went about their evening prayer. We had the Mekong laksa, eggplant dip and mushroom dip. All very tasty with great sized portions. Generously priced too. Absolutely recommend if you’re in Luang Prabang!

After eating our way through Thailand and other parts of Laos over three weeks, we stumbled upon Khaiphaen. It was so good, we came back the next night too. Hands down, our favourite restaurant so far! The menu is small but everything is delicious. We especially loved the Mekong River fish, green beans and the very unique panna cotta. Beyond the food, we also loved that this is a teaching restaurant, which employs young people from underprivileged backgrounds. Noy - one of the teachers/waiters - is lovely, we spoke with him for about 15 minutes while waiting for our food. Overall, we were blown away by our experience here, cannot recommend it highly enough - six stars!

We absolutely loved our meal here. The quality and flavours were outstanding. Special mention goes to the pandan and coconut panna cotta. Incredible value for money. You would pay top dollar for meal of this standard in other places. The restaurant itself is charming and tastefully decorated, and the staff were delightful. Highly recommended!

We came here for lunch and it was closed for training but undeterred we came back the next day. Good decision since the food was amazing! Loved their take on fish and chips and the red curry. The juice was sooo refreshing after a walk in the Sun 🥰 And the waiters were all adorable - we had trouble giving our orders since we wanted to understand the menu but they somehow made it work ☺️

Everything was very good. The service is great, thank’s to young students and teachers that’s make you feel comfortable. The food is great and the prices are great for that amazing food. A great place to have dinner in Luang Prabang. We will come back

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. On the first day, we had lunch at the restaurant and were very impressed with the atmosphere and attentive service. The staff introduced each dish in detail and with great enthusiasm. Because of that, we decided to return for dinner on our last night. The evening setting was wonderful, but it’s best to reserve in advance for a nice table as it gets busy with both hotel guests and outside visitors. The food was delicious with authentic Lao flavors. Prices are reasonable for the quality, with main dishes ranging from 200,000 – 350,000 KIP. Definitely worth experiencing!

The most beautiful restaurant with the most beautiful people working there and an incredibly talented chef. I don’t usually eat at hotel restaurants, but instead we had breakfast there daily and dinner and lunch once. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Beautiful restaurant we were so happy to come back to. It is so magical with the pond and decorations. Staff is super friendly and service swift. The only thing I wasn’t very fond of in the Vegetarian menu, was the stew - too jelly-like and similar to the soup. Otherwise the food is super fresh, tasty and beautiful.

We walked in without a reservation, not knowing what to expect—and the staff went above and beyond to find us the perfect spot. It was our first meal in Laos, and thank god it didn’t disappoint. If anything, it made us instantly fall in love with Lao cuisine. Everything they recommended was on point. The Lao sausage here? So much better than any other place we tried later. Packed with flavor, not too greasy, just right. And please, don’t skip the buffalo steak—it’s tender, juicy, and honestly unforgettable. A sister restaurant of Maison dalabua hotel. They offer complimentary drink if you are a customer at the hotel. The resto is nicely decorated with a huge lily pond and wooden decoration. A wide range of food and drink to offer, definitely on the expenside side but worth it. Some staffs are very attentive and caring, others might need a bit more training, but they are nice in general

I absolutely love Manda de Laos! 🌿✨ The restaurant atmosphere is simply breathtaking — from the moment you walk past the modest entrance, you step into a hidden paradise filled with charm and beauty. The service is outstanding, truly top-notch. I want to give a special shout-out to Ms. Solaya, who took wonderful care of me throughout my entire dining experience. She not only provided attentive service but also gave fantastic recommendations for each dish. I especially loved the Khao Nam from the salad section — flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend coming around 17:00. The natural lighting creates a magical setting and is perfect for photos before the evening ambiance sets in. A must-visit restaurant in Luang Prabang!

Me and my partner had a wonderful dinner celebrating our engagement, seated at the edge of the stunning orchid pond. Food was exceptional, the staff were very attentive and the service was also incredibly smooth. I would highly reccomend a meal here when visiting Luang Prabang.

Played pool here, playing is free but the sticks are questionable. Drink prices can vary a lot, so be careful when ordering. Some can be 100,000 for a shot and other times it’s 30,000 for two beers.

We like the bar, great atmosphere and music. The drinks were too strong for me, but the others will probably appreciate it. The service was nice and good English speaking. I give 4 stars, because when we paid we were included drinks, which we did not have. Overall, we were satisfied.

We had a great time here. Bar is well stocked. Staff are competent and friendly. Pizza was pretty good (not legendary, but just fine). I brought some chili peppers with me and they diced them up and put them on the pizza for me. Good music and lively atmosphere. A little bit pricey but not outrageous. Also, one of the few places I found in town with draft beer.

This place is a vibe! And they accept Credit Card! Server was so nice and understood my broken Laotian (mostly English, haha). They currently have it decorated for Halloween and when I ordered the mushroom soup as an appetizer, the kitchen made a little ghost from the cream! So cute! Music was also vibin'. Highly recommend. FYI: There will always be a 3% surcharge when using your CC anywhere you go in Laos.

food was authentic and tasted very good, we took the bamboo soup and a set sharing menu for two of us, was all delicious. nice ambiance, and excellent service. We liked a lot the bamboo chips and the laolao rice whisky, we tried three flavors! The chilly one is great! Haha we like spicy. We preferred the table inside because there was not much to see and enjoy along the street. I definitely recommend this place. And we would come back to try also other dishes too.

We had a fantastic evening at Tamarind Restaurant, where we chose to try the vegan tasting menu. It was an excellent decision. The dishes were all incredibly fresh and vibrant, and it was clear that each one had been prepared with great care and attention to detail. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each dish and its traditional Laotian context. Tamarind offers a perfect blend of authentic Laotian cuisine, high-quality ingredients, and outstanding service. I like this restaurant and I came here 3 times during visiting Luang Prabang. The restaurant serve the traditional Laotian foods and very unique. Full of favourites and very tasty. We ordered Bamboo soup and Som moo sour pork and it was fantastic 😋 highly recommend. The only dish that I would avoided is Stir fried Basil leaf with Frog 🐸 if you don't eat a whole Frog. It was not just a Frog's legs but the whole body of Frog's with skin. The staff was so friendly and he said Laos people eat the whole Frog. We came again to try another dishes and the staff gave us a house dessert.

The best restaurant we visited in Luang Prabang! All the food and drink we tried (we ordered the vegan set) was absolutely delicious, an explosion of different flavours and really big portions. The service was super attentive, explained all the dishes and how to eat them. We got the impression that they really cared about bringing Laotian food culture to tourists. We also booked a cooking class with them which was a fantastic experience as well! Can only recommend❤️

Was recommended to try this place for Lao food. Food was for the most part very palatable and earthy - good use of local produce. Got the tasting platter, buffalo laap. Complimentary bamboo chips were very interesting.

The staff were kind and adapted the menu to my liking. The food was delicious. Super filling! That pumpkin coconut soup is outstanding.

Very nice restaurant. Specializing in French cuisine. A little expensive compared to other local restaurants, but not when compared to Europe or the US. Food was most excellent! Good selection of items and presentation always perfect. Don't miss the creme brule! Interestingly, the restaurant was very busy at 19:30 on a Friday, but the crowd had disappeared by 20:30.....so if planning an early dinner it might pay to call ahead.

Without exaggeration, the best food and service here. Quick preparation of dishes, despite the fact that the restaurant was almost full. Good wine. Portions are average and less than average. But the taste is excellent. They charge 10% extra for service.

During my first day in Luang Prabang, I heard that one could get good French food in the ancient capital of Laos. And this restaurant was recommended by the residence reception. Quite easy to find in a 1960s colonial building. The architecture and setting was quaint and relaxing. The menu was in English, French and Laotian. We ordered Braised Duck and Mustard Rabbit. Each dish had its delightful points. Overall, it was good, and agreeable with me. The portions were generous. The staff were attentive, sometimes a little over attentive. Overall very positive experience!

*Unforgettable riverside dining with heartwarming service!* Our visit to The Belle Rive Terrace in Luang Prabang more times was truly special. The location is beautiful, right along the Mekong River — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a relaxed meal. The food was excellent, full of flavor and beautifully presented. What made the experience even more memorable was the birthday celebration. I had messaged the owner, who is a foreigner, and he personally coordinated with his amazing staff to organize everything. The team did a fantastic job — warm, friendly, and very well-organized. They even surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture! A truly heartwarming experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great food, a beautiful view, and genuinely caring service.

Amazing place to enjoy the beautiful sunset over Mekong river. Mango sticky rice and mango smoothie were delicious. We didn't take any food but the menu and the way food looks sounds promising. Definitely a place to not be missed when you visit Luang Prabang. Staff is very friendly and always helpful trying to protect all the customers from the hot weather until the sun sets.

We stopped by the Belle Rive Terrace for sunset and it was absolutely worth it for the view alone. We had cocktails and some snacks while watching the sun go down over the Mekong, and it was a beautiful, relaxing experience. The cocktails were not bad, and while the food was average, it was more than made up for by the setting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Luang Prabang, this is a great spot to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.

First restaurant tried in Lauang Prabang. 10/10, very satisfied. The service is fast and friendly, they serve you quickly and you wait 5-10min for your food. I highly recommend this place

Excellent food, perfect view, good staff There is a good menu, it consists of traditional food, salads and soups, some international dishes like noodles and nuggets. Everything is very tasty! Good size of portions, fresh ingredients - we were satisfied! And btw, you can see not only Mekong from the restaurant, but also a sunset. For drinks you can choose wine/sparkling by glasses or by bottle, cocktails and various liquors. Here you can have breakfast as well - different sets including eggs, sausages, croissants, muesli, fruits and etc in different combinations. Staff is perfect - smiley and very attentive.

I came to this place because I saw they had gluten free options and it didn’t disappoint!! Everything is clearly marked with gluten free, vegan or vegetarian. The staff are amazing and so helpful! The peanut stew (very like a curry) was one of the best meals I’ve had. We also had a buffalo steak which was perfectly cooked and tasty! I really recommend trying here!!

I ordered a buffalo burger. And if there were a competition for the worst burgers, this one would confidently take first place. The french fries was soft and not tasty. The bun was hard, unchewable, inedible. The patty itself was super well done, so dry that I basically had to add some sauce just to swallow it. The only decent things were the tomatoes and pickles. It felt like both the bun and the patty had been sitting around for two or three days, then just reheated in a microwave, thrown together and handed to me. For the price of 140,000 kip, that’s outright robbery. Drinks were nice, 2 stars in total.

The service was lovely. The food, unfortunately, was really bland and not cheap. The discovery platter 1 was essentially boiled vegetables. The eggplant dip was pretty flavourless. It came with a lot of rice, but not a lot of sauce. And it cost 120000 kip. The staff were very, very kind!! Service was fast and they answered all our questions. They told us about the history of the restaurant. They were great. The vibes are pretty good. It’s well decorated. I just wish the food had more flavour and was a lower price.

Good food at a price that’s not exactly cheap – but still reasonable, considering the restaurant’s central location and the generally high price level in the city. Despite the menu offering dishes from various corners of the world, the flavors are impressively authentic. The atmosphere is cozy, although the upper floor doesn’t necessarily invite you to linger for too long. One thing that left me slightly puzzled was the drinking water: it appears to be bottled in-house, yet there’s no mention of this on the menu, nor is the price any lower because of it.

The mezze platter is pricey yet we had to come back for it again, absolutely delicious. Got two red curries which tasted quite different, mine was amazing so bf was a bit disappointed with his. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, would go back again 🌞

This place is super cute. Love the concept and the design. I chose the falafel burger and was disappointed that it was dry, even with the hummus and the tomato on the burger. The portion sizes are good, the service is wonderful, and the menu has a lot of options.

Amazing!!! A must if you are in Luang Prabang on a Tuesday or Friday night. I recommend walking as you will see some cool areas of the city that are not touristy. Food is superb. The lasagna was appetizer-size but delicious. My wife and I finished it in 3 bites each - I would need 4-5 of these for a full meal. The pizza is phenomenal! 1. Taste of the Pizza: We ordered two types of pizza—one with salami and mushrooms, the other with ham and chicory. The seasoning on both was quite distinct. The salami was flavorful, and the addition of basil gave the meat a nice depth. However, this was the thinnest pizza I’ve ever had—even thinner than a typical thin crust—which meant it cooled down very quickly and affected the overall texture. In the end, it felt more like eating a cracker. The toppings were also quite minimal; an average adult could easily finish a whole pizza on their own. 2. Taste of the Tiramisu: It seemed the tiramisu was freshly made when we ordered it, so it tasted very fresh. The cocoa powder on top wasn’t soggy, which made for a great texture. That said, the portion was quite small. 3. Regarding Some Online Rumors: There’s definitely some truth to the comments about chaotic service. It feels like the owner is focused solely on making the pizzas and has neglected overall management. The staff seem to operate on their own. You need to find your own table and remind the staff to bring you a menu. Even ordering a simple beer can take up to 20 minutes—despite staff standing idly behind the bar. No utensils or napkins are provided with the pizza, and I’m honestly not sure which tradition this practice is based on. 4. Waiting Time: It was raining when we visited, so even though the restaurant was full, we got a table within a few minutes. Still, it took nearly an hour before our pizzas arrived. Luckily, I was mentally prepared for a long wait, so it was manageable. If you come on a nice day, expect an even longer wait. This place is definitely better suited for chatting with friends than for satisfying a hungry stomach. The conversation helped pass the time, which made the wait more bearable. 5. Ambience: The restaurant is tucked away in a small wooden cabin down an alley. The dining area is right next to the pizza oven, and it’s actually quite nice to watch your food being made right in front of you. Conclusion: Ideal for those who have time to spare and enjoy long conversations, or for light eaters on a diet. Personally, while the food was tasty, it wasn’t quite good enough to justify such a long wait. It was good—but that’s about it.

Probably the best pizza we’ve had in Luang Prabang! The crust is perfect, delicious and the ingredients are super fresh. You can come watch the staffs and the owner making the pizza. The pastas and lasagnas are also quite good. The salad bowl is generous, though the dressing is a bit too sour; a more balanced flavor would make it perfect. Service is friendly, but communication can be a bit hard as many staff don’t speak much English. Overall, a very good experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Luang Prabang. Note: it’s only open 3 days a week and never during the weekend

Wonderful atmosphere. Very busy with locals and overseas tourist groups. Pizza was good but the wait was 90 mins before any drinks or pizza arrived. Open Tuesdays and Fridays.

Thin, crispy, flavorful homemade pizza. We also wanted to try the ravioli and gnocchi but found out you gotta call a day before to reserve them. Smoothies were also good.

This is a pretty chill bar in Luang Prabang. The decorations are nicely done and give the place a cozy, laid-back vibe. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Prices are affordable, and the location is perfect—right on the same street as the night market, so it’s easy to find and convenient to stop by after exploring.

We are visiting Luang Prabang from Mexico, and I must say that the Ceviche is exactly what the other reviews describe: amazing, great, delicious, etc etc. Totally recommended. The rest of food in the menu is also delicious, prices very reasonable and the restaurant and location in one of the areas main streets. Last but not least, staff and owners provided a great service.

Perfect for people watching from the terrace. Full bar, friendly servers, and everything our group tried on the menu was enjoyed. The house specialty of ceviche was my favorite. Also the fish in the parchment paper. Very tasty.

I suffered from mild food poisoning here after eating a raw burger that I ordered to be cooked medium. This probably would have been fine if they used good quality beef but given my vomiting the morning after they used cheap beef mince for their burgers and also don’t cook it for long enough.

We stopped for a snack and had the red lentil dip which is actually a hummus and it was amazing. We also had the fried chicken appetizer that was so awesome. I figured it would just be regular batter fried chicken and it was except the flavor and texture of the batter was different than anything I’ve had. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the main dishes.

This is a chill place to hang out and watch people go about their business on the main drag. We came here often during our visit to Luang Prabang when we wanted a coke and / or a cool beer. The staff are nice, the decor has a nice vibe, the prices are very reasonable and importantly (as a tourist) we were able to pay with relatively large notes!

Bit of a deception for the food I ordered, the taste was not so great, had to add some lemon to get some more taste. My friend were ok as well for their dish but confirmed that it could be better. Regarding the price, it is correct but more pricy than other places with a better taste. One comment to the owner, please do something about the smell in the toilets, it is really horrible. Good that they are supporting the straw movement, happy to read this on the table.

Had the chicken laap and the chicken steamed in banana leaf. The laap was pretty tasteless -not spicy, hardly any taste of fish sauce - no real flavor. I’d definitely skip if. The chicken in banana leaf was a bit better. It had a nice banana leaf aroma that was pretty strong and gave the dish a nice flavor.

Found this place when I was wandering around the old town with my family. It offers a wide variety of food from Laos to international choices. Most of the dishes that we ordered we tasty. Also the restaurant were nicely decorated. Exceeded my expectations!

When entering you can walk through to the back garden area which gets you away from new years festival happening on street outside. The food was of a good standard and the service was excellent. Although more expensive than on the street the ambiance and service makes it worth it and not talking about a big difference in money. The spring rolls were great. Would eat there again.

We enjoyed the ambience and service at Coconut Garden! It was nice relaxing in Luang Prabang after a physically draining tour in Nong Khiaw. Loved the sour pork and crispy rice salad we've had! Their desserts looked really good too, but it was a shame that we were too full and couldn't try.

Popolo Pizza is truly a must-visit in Luang Prabang! The pizzas are absolutely delicious — perfectly baked with a crispy crust and full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal even a bit hot and sweaty while a lunch. Pad Kaprao pizza was delicious. Should have asked for crispier crust but not sure if they could have accommodated because of the toppings. Place has a great vibe and good music. Lots of attentive staff.

Really good pizzas, loaded nachos and nice iced coffee and good value. Waitress spoke good English, receipt was in Lao Kip, USD, Euro and Thai Baht which was useful. Nice atmosphere too, I recommend it and will definitely go back again.

First time coming here, and the Honolulu pizza was the best I’ve ever tasted. However, the garlic bread which was kind of pricey compared to other places I’ve been to in the capital, was disappointing. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be this burnt or not, but it felt like eating straight charcoal. It’s really not at a level that should be served. Might visit again for the pizza, but definitely not for the bread.

Good food, great ambience, cool and interior and great location. The pizza as well worth trying if you’re sick of noodles.

We had a lazy afternoon here in Luang Prabang, and walked down main street looking for a nice place to have a bite and drink. We decided on Maolin Tavern and were asked to leave a review. Nanny was a wonderful and attentive host who got our drinks quickly, and always had a wonderful smile. I would come here again for an easy afternoon. We didn't get much to eat, but would try the food gladly

Na and the rest of servers took fabulous care of us. Somersby ciders were cold and crisp, Beer Laos draught was flowing and tasty. Supper was beef flamande and German sausage platter. Beef was tender,filling and delicious, sausage was great.

Great bar, great athmosphere. Slightly chaotic service, as the bar was packed. Na Do was great behind the bar. Good club sandwich, and a few belgian craft beers on the menu. They showed Premier League (small screen, no sound).

The food and atmosphere at the restaurant used to be wonderful, and I’ve been a fan until today. I used to visit for lunch, understanding that it’s not very crowded during that time, making it suitable for outdoor seating. However, today, I chose the restaurant for dinner with a friend. The staff greeted us warmly, as always, but they asked if we had made a reservation before arriving, which we hadn’t. Personally, I didn’t think a dinner reservation would be necessary. However, the staff told us we could only sit inside because all the tables were fully booked (this was at 6:00 PM). While we enjoyed our dinner, the service, and the atmosphere until 8:30 PM (close to closing time), there were very few customers. There was only our table and one other. By 9:00 PM, there were just two tables occupied. I don’t know if there was a reason behind but I felt somewhat disappointed with the service. It seemed like a form of discrimination, treating locals differently from foreigners. All we wanted was to sit outside and enjoy the weather. It’s unfortunate to receive such service at a restaurant I once loved. Sadly, this time, I cannot leave a tip, and I must say it might be my last visit. My actions won’t have a significant impact on the restaurant, but I want to make it clear that I cannot support a place that practices this kind of discrimination against local patrons. We have the means to dine at your restaurant; we are not struggling tourists. It’s truly disappointing, and I hope the owner takes notice.

Very good place for wines in Luang Pra Bang

By far the widest selection of wines by the glass in town (try the Mâcon Villages if you like a dry white) and a great cheese selection plate. Take a seat out the front, relax and watch the world amble by!

Neat bar in the near centre of town, good for people watching. Food is either a cheese platter or mixed cured meats platter, both excellent. Good choices for wine and spirits.

Just across the street from Icon Klub, Chez Matt, opened in early 2014, is the wine bar that Luang Prabang has long been waiting for with its relatively large selection of good wine by the glass and comfortable seating – a rarity in this town. As you can probably tell from the name, the bar oozes Frenchness. The menu of bistro-type food is tiny but excellent and they have an array of classy after dinner tipple, all at reasonable prices.

Wonderful staff at this drink spot. A good wine list, probably in the top 3 for LP. Prices are good and it's a great spot for people watching.

We came here as we wanted a nice rooftop/terrace to watch the sunset with a drink. It was perfect - big beerlao for 50k lak, was pretty quiet when we went so got a nice seat with a great view of the sunset, service was good in there, overall had a really nice evening here.

A treasure in the Old Quarter. Dropped in after seeing the beautiful French pastries (including gluten friendly!) on display while walking by. Initially wanted to stop for coffee and a snack, but we ended up ordering some traditional Lao dishes. Menu has a mix of both local and Western cuisine and everything looked tasty. We had the Lao chicken noodle soup and it was amazing. Thai milk tea and seasonal special lychee longan drink were refreshing and not too sweet. Everything was fresh, fragrant, and beautifully presented. Our server Namfon was super lovely. We'll definitely be coming back later for dinner!

Have been here several times. The food, drinks, coffee, cakes, everything is very fresh and delicate. The stuff is friendly, helpfull and offer a fast service. Not to mention it is very clean everywhere. A big recommendation.

We loved this place and basically went there every day during our stay in Luang Prabang — whether for brunch, to relax with a refreshing drink, or to enjoy something sweet. I fell in love with the guacamole toast, the avocado smoothie, and the matcha latte. It’s just a pity that on the last day, instead of a Matcha Latte, they brought a Green Tea Latte, which wasn’t good. It took us a while to understand that the waiter had actually ordered a Green Tea Latte and not a Matcha Latte. But I still recommend this place. They have a great variety on the menu.

October 2025 Only had a blueberry shake and a croissant, and sampled a caramel croissant. Blueberry shake is sensational - prob best from 3 months in LP. Worth the price. Butter croissant is tasty for 45k. Caramel 🥐 comes with thick caramel and Macadamia nuts for 50k. It's superb. Although a lot of the menu is priced higher than other places in LP, that caramel croissant is a bargain.

I ordered the chicken pad thai and a glass of house white wine, everything was delicious. I would say the pad thai was my favourite out of all of my travels around asia thus far! Great ambiance out on the rooftop, from the market below.

Had the chicken burger and it was the most delicious burger I have ever had! Would highly recommend a long with the passion fruit soda!

I went to drink some nice cocktails, charming place, Friday late afternoon, unfortunately I was alone so the atmosphere was not there this time. then I ate, unfortunately the steak was not great and not cooked properly and I had to get up to go to the bar to order a drink and also to go and pay because the staff was on their phone and couldn't see me not . being the only customer I understand that the staff are not in the working atmosphere.

It was one of the experiences one should never miss, there are lot of companies including coconut cruise. You can book with the agent or directly at the pier but only with Cash. I had the Mojito but felt like just a touch of alcohol and rest all the syrups only, i didn’t order anymore. Snacks were Good. Overall it was worth. You can buy beers and drinks onboard as per your wish. They will surprise you with lot of activities onboard. Its worth the price.

Great little cruise up & down the Mekong for sunset. You get a small plate of snacks when you find your seat which were all lovely & you also get a drink which can be either a cider, beer, cocktail or soft drink. They did run out of cider on our cruise so I’d recommend getting yours early instead of waiting to guarantee you get what you want.

Was a nice cruise overall. While we were not lucky enough to get a nice sunset (clouds came in quickly on this day) the staff were really nice. We got a welcome drink and snack, had plenty of seats to choose from - not crowded. We liked the idea of writing wishes and dislikes down and sinking the dislikes and letting the wishes float away 🙂

The cruise was peaceful and the sunset was very beautiful. There was lot of seats and sun-beds to choose from. However, as the price was nearly double than other operators, I expected better. The included drink was either a Mojito or a beer, we went for Mojito as that’s our favourite drink, but it was least to say horrible. We just had a sip and asked to change it to a beer, but been told we should have ordered one first to taste it. Too bad we didn’t know a Mojito can taste that bad… The activities included on the boat were quite cringe too. If you just wanna enjoy the views, I’d say go for a cheaper option and don’t waste money on this.

I highly recommend Sa Sa Cruise!👍🏻👍🏻 The sunset was beautiful, but what I really enjoyed was the atmosphere of the boat! It felt like one of the most charming boat on the mekong river. When you board, they serve you peanuts and welcome drink. I ordered a lao mojito, and it was decent. The menu is also quite affordable, so if you haven’t dinner yet, it is a great idea to enjoy the diner on the cruise🚢🥘 There are also some unique activities during the trip. On the second floor, there is a fish tank where you can release fish into the river while making a wish. Another activity is to write your hopes and worries on a banana leaf, tie it to a stone, and throw it into the river. You can also simply think about your wish quietly, but I chose to write mine down with a pen. That moment was very meaningful for me! It gave me time to reflect on my thoughts, something I don’t usually do in daily life. Doing it together with others made the experience even more special!😊 This cruise was not only beautiful but also gave me a very peaceful and memorable experience! So don’t miss it!👍🏻

Very nice sunset cruise! It was 2 hours starting at 4:45. You have a drink and a snack included in the price as well as 2 surprises. The boat was very pretty with lanterns and quiet.

Sa Sa Sunset Cruise is the cruise recommend by my hotel. It was very enjoyable. Beautiful views. Relaxed environment. The ship was not crowed so you are able to walk around and sit in different areas. Able to get the best view for you, at all times. You got a drink of your choice and snacks, Included with the price of admission. Worth every last Kip.

I ate here 4 times. It’s covered but quite open air. No air conditioning. Lots of smokers. I mistakenly ordered a chicken club and fries the first time I ate here. It was fine and represented good value. Not much chicken. The second time I ordered fish and chips. The portion was fine, the fish and chips were a bit greasy. Not too expensive. The third time I ordered an egg and bacon burrito and fries. The portion was fine for brunch. The burrito was absolutely flavourless. At least add some black pepper! The fourth and last time I ordered the spaghetti with tomato & ground beef sauce. It tasted fine but was barely an appetizer in size. Maybe good enough for an 80 pound female, not for a 180 pound male. I didn’t even try the burgers and pizza because they were all too expensive. I think this place has potential, but they will have to do better. As an aside - there was a cat hanging around there during one of my visits. I like cats, but I will make an exception in this case because the back half of the cat looked like it had fallen into a poop filled toilet. Absolutely nasty!

This place serves amazing foreign food! From the pizza to the burgers everything we have ate has been amazing. The pulled pork burger omg! The staff is so friendly and always willing to help and chat. You can meet many people here as well if you like that. Prices are super good too. Just when I thought the next good burger I'll eat will be at my hometown I saw Outback Laos on Google Maps. I've spent last 5 months in Thailand and to be fair I stopped looking for good burgers there. Waste of money. But burger from Outback Laos was amazing 🍔😁 Going there again today 🙌

Great place. Similar to Thailand live music venues. Two stages going at once on a Tuesday night from 7 pm. Both good. If you can't enjoy this place, best get yourself home.

When I went up to the bar, the young guy behind the bar saw me approach and then sat scrolling his phone while I waited. I stood there for 15 seconds and he stayed glued to his phone 😂. Definitely better spots to enjoy the sunset.

Great local dive. Live in expats, locals. Pretty much no tourists. Great food. Beer is a bit much but if you’re there the extra 5000 kip isn’t going to matter. The view is the best in town and they even have live music ‘sometimes’

good location to enjoy sunset, compared to most of the riverside bars and restos. but to secure the best seats (the corner, closest to the sea) it's better to go earlier before sunset. views from other seats are more or less covered by trees. variety of drinks are good too. beer, other liquor, and smoothies as well. we ordered mango smoothie which was thick and nice flavor. staffs are kind, although hardly speak english. we sat there for 10-15 mins without ordering. but still recommend guests to order, as a manner.

I was also abit disappointed that the cricket wasnt on, especially if Australia is playing on aussie day. Not sure id trust watching sport here as there is only 1 tv on and its just on sports replays of interviews with tennis players. Ive kept my star rating as a 4 as my burger tasted good, and i liked the tap beers. I guess im in a foreign country and Australia has alot of licenses for sports broadcasting so i cant expect too much that side

This is a great place to visit and a great place to stay while you're in Luang Prabang, especially if you're an Aussie. It's just like having a slice of home as your base camp for exploring the region. If you have a rest day, just sitting looking out on Aham Corner and people watching while sipping a cool drink is very relaxing 😊 There are very reasonably priced rooms to cater for all budgets and a great menu featuring Aussie tucker in the bar. You can't go wrong here 😊

Mick runs a tight ship. It is a really great bar. Very friendly. It is definitely for Expats and tourists though and the prices reflect this. The food is good. But Mick I'd like to see some Thai beer in there as I get sick of the local brew lol. Especially the U or My Beer or Chiang Mai (after all this is made in Laos). But other than that I watch the AFL footy at Aussie Bar. The service is excellent. The atmosphere convivial. The ambience wonderful.

The best tacos I've ever had! I've been coming back again and again. They also offer vegetarian options. Delicious cocktails, wine, beer you name it, they've got it. They're also locally known for their great coffee and tasty sandwiches at lunchtime.

Superb food. First came to Fat Cat about a year ago, back when it was across the old bridge. It's an even better sign now that they've found a new home. The American owner is a passionate guy. He's made a life for himself here and his love for Laos is as palpable as the layers of fat on his homemade pastrami. It's a thing of beauty, a sandwich that can stand toe-to-toe with anything you'll find in New York. This is a place that understands the fundamentals. The burgers are simple, juicy, and delicious. The bloody Marys are a perfect 10, the kind of drink that could cure a hangover you didn't even know you had. And the breakfast hash? Also a 10. Crispy potatoes, tender pastrami, and a depth of flavor that can only come from a kitchen run by someone who cares. That someone, the real heart of the operation, is the lovely Lao chef, a woman who brings her soul to every dish. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a testament to what happens when two cultures collide over a shared love of good food.

Just grabbed lunch at Fatcat in Luang Prabang and it was solid! The atmosphere is super chill - perfect for escaping the heat and just relaxing for a bit. Food came out quick and hit the spot. A great option if you're wandering around the old town and need a decent lunch break

Tried a few different things on the menu here and everything was delicious. Very fresh with a home made vibe. Large portions and reasonably priced. I’ll be back again.

Cool little place. Even had a DJ when we were there. Ordered the Parmesan chicken and eggplant Parmesan and both were yummy. Not Italian really, the sauce is a bit sweeter and very light on the cheese but it was still tasty. Would definitely go back.

Nothing special to this place. They stay open later than the rest of the bars and you can drink some beers on the sidewalk. Good if you're looking to continue the party late but that's about it.

I went to Nagini Bar twice for cocktails when I was in Luang Prabang recently, and I loved it! It's opposite the gorgeous looking hotel and restaurant, 3 Nagas. Nagini Bar is such a lovely place. It's beautifully decorated and the cocktails are absolutely delicious, perfectly made and presented, and use local ingredients and flavours. I was given great complimentary snacks to eat with them, too. I sat outside on the footpath early one evening, and inside on a big, comfortable chair by an open window on another, very relaxing. The staff are excellent - beautifully presented, very professional and attentive, and really lovely, warm and welcoming. Actually, this was one of the nicest things about the time I spent at Nagini - chatting with some of the staff, who were all women, and getting to know a bit more about Laos. A very special thanks to the assistant managers Tou and Min, and especially to the lovely Nam, who noticed I was reading and told me about Luang Prabang's little library, where you can swap and buy books left by travellers, and who also made my excellent and very delicious cocktails. Although I didn't eat, food is available here too, and I'm sure it would be as excellent as everything else about Nagini Bar. Thank you, Nagini staff, for a lovely few evenings 😊 Verity, Australia

One of the best cocktails and dinning around here with good quality in a well decorated building along with the price. From my home, in Bangkok, this pricing with what you get it’s worthwhile and more. Staffs were so attentive and had these positive spirit and great smile. We went with their recommendation and were very happy with the dishes served. Khanap Paa, fish was freshly grilled and came juicy and aromatic without any muddy aftertaste. Tam Tard, Luang Prabang salad was good too. Went great with the appetizers. Kaeng Nor Sai Yanang, Vegetables soup sounds doubting but so much umami and hit the spot as well. Sticky rice came in a hearty portion whereas us could hardly finished. Cocktails were listed as highly recommended and proved not wrong especially with their signature’s. Beautifully crafted and tasted delicious. Just from their appearance could hardly resist the temptation. We had 3 NAGAS, NAGINI, NAM KHAN, and PHONGSALLY BLOSSOM. Ending our meal with the dessert, Chuem Mak Moung, Mango Flambé in Orange Syrup & Lao Whisky with Coconut Ice Cream, was amazing too. Thank you for the great services provided and it’s one of the best dining experiences we had here.

The drink menu is full of creativity, but the La Mache Zest is absolutely legendary—made with their homemade orange ice cream, fresh orange juice, and local rum. It's the perfect balance of creamy, citrusy, and boozy—like sunshine in a glass. The staff here are outstanding—attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about what they do. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like a regular. The bartenders take time to explain the drinks, offer recommendations, and even customize if you’re feeling adventurous. A perfect blend of great drinks, great people, and great vibes. Highly recommended!

Dropped by for a cocktail on a quiet Thursday night. Very professional service crew well versed in English. Inventive cocktail 🍹 which could do with slightly more alcohol. The accompaniments (roasted peanuts and rice crackers) fresh and complemented the drink well. Lovely ambience enhanced by the chic interior of the place. Not cheap though!

The river fish and the apple sauce was really good to my surprise. The atmosphere is nice and the staff were all attentive.

Dinner at this hotel's restaurant. Even the snacks for alcoholic drinks are carefully crafted and tasted one by one. The presentation and taste of the food was perfect. The ice cream I ordered had no complaints about the toppings, appearance, and taste! A restaurant you must go to!

Didnt have food but had two delicious margaritas. Staff were attentive and friendly.

If you want a classier spot to have a cocktail and some great food, I highly recommend.

Decent food and drinks with attentive servers. Only drawback was allowing smoking in front sections which drifted into the whole restaurant.
