Cafe
Café Central is a renowned jazz bar located in Madrid, offering a laid-back atmosphere with tapas, cocktails, and live music. The venue has hosted some of the finest artists and performers in Europe, including jazz legends like Pedro Iturralde and George Adams. The restaurant at Café Central is run by Chef Juan Miguel Perez Paramo, known for serving quality food.
Amazing Jazz, fantastic food (go for the special menu, it's great value for money) and the staff were brilliant, all professional and looked after us completely. I can't recommend Cafe Central enough. A must when visiting Madrid!
Andrew B — Google review
Came for a live jazz performance. You pay for the entrance fee, then order food and drinks. Excellent quartet playing. Great service and atmosphere. Respectful audience that was there to listen to the music. Would come again!
Hnin Y — Google review
Great place for live music. We thought the entrance ticket was a bit too high for one set of just over an hour. But drinks were reasonable, we didnt eat. Overall, we would definitely recommend the place.
Paul F — Google review
The magnificent atmosphere is combined with a wonderful musical experience. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed that we paid for the dinner menu; they've completely commercialized the whole thing. The concert we attended lasted about an hour and ended too quickly. After us, the same group played a second concert for other guests, also around an hour. Of course, this amount is worth paying for such a beautiful venue and atmosphere, but it should be for a single group of guests, not two. Still, thank you for the wonderful atmosphere and service.
Cengiz K — Google review
It was a special night as we celebrated my husband's Birthday in Cafe Central. Perfect in every moment - profeccional and delicate bar team, delicious drinks and snaks, relaxed atmosphere. And of course the most precious emotions we got from amazing Adrian Costa Blues Band! What a sound and music energy they create! Thanks a lot !!!
Darya B — Google review
Mario is a legend. The food was great. The band were awesome.
Stephen P — Google review
This is an emblematic jazz establishment in Madrid, very good bands and music for the past few decades. This was my second time there, first one more than 10 years ago. 5 stars for music and atmosphere, 4 stars for service (they forgot about our order and quite difficult to get their attention even if the place is not huge). But I guess one can’t have it all. Cover charge for that Saturday was 30 Eur per person. Bonus: one of the waiters is a saxophone player and went on stage for a few songs.
The D — Google review
We entered this place for a nightcap only to remain for 2 hours due to the sensational voice of this lady and the amazing tunes from the jazz band. Incredible and memorable experience and I hope I get to watch them again in the future

Bar
Nestled beneath the vibrant streets of Calle Arenal, La Coquette Blues Bar is a hidden gem that transforms into Madrid's blues haven from Tuesday to Sunday. This unique venue, established in 1982, exclusively showcases a variety of blues styles and offers an electrifying atmosphere for music lovers. With live performances and jam sessions filling the air with soulful sounds, it's an unexpected delight in Spain’s musical landscape.
This bar rules, we sang and danced all night. Door staff was really kind and although we had to wait to get in, it was worth it. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Madrid. Seating is very cozy so be prepared to sit with strangers or make new friends.
Hannah M — Google review
One of the only if not the only real blues bar in madrid, they offer sunflower seeds with drink, a queue you have to wait to get in and 3 sets of 1.3 h each. Staff are friendly, music never dissapoints, I loved the place, would be nice to have Guiness beer, but its just my personal preference.
Aryan K — Google review
It was so great! A great band, free live show , you just need to buy a drink. Come at 21 00 when they open so you will have a seat otherwise it gets packed.
Michal T — Google review
Great blues bar, very lively and friendly crowd. The place is very intimate and has no entry fee; entry based on capacity. We arrived around 10 pm midweek and there was no line, but a couple hours later there was a line. As people left between sets, people in line were let in. Great place overall, had a fantastic time
Basel A — Google review
First visit to this blues club, a very small intimate venue, free to enter. Limited places. Drinks good value for a club. The staff were quick to serve us. The atmosphere was brilliant . The music, was great blues. People tend to leave after the 1st set which allows other waiting outside to get in. Next time I go to Madrid I will visit La Coquette again..
Chris B — Google review
Great place! We had a brilliant night here last night!
Stiofán S — Google review
No concert is worth waiting 2.5 hours in the cold for. It would be so much nicer if they can let people know that it’s gonna take that long
Mohmed A — Google review
Expect to wait forever in line even though there are seated available. Thry seat amd serve in order. No interest in selling drinks and making money.

Café La Palma, located in the vibrant Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid, has been a pioneering venue for over twenty years. It offers a unique and multidimensional space that surprises visitors as they explore its labyrinthine interior. The venue features various areas including a relaxed cafe space, a chill-out zone with floor cushions, and a main room where live music concerts and DJ dance parties are held from Thursday to Saturday.
Small place for live music and having one or two drinks. It will become even better the day when they discover air conditioning.
Camilo L — Google review
I really love the service here, the cocktails are good and they give you gummy bears with them XD Also, the bar is very close to touristic places so you can then go and visit Madrid or stay and enjoy the live music and great environment. The only thing I'd say isn't great is the music volume when there are only few people, it may be too loud
Andrea F — Google review
Amazing performance from Fitasha, soul, trap and jazz. Lovely atmosphere and good drinks, would come back again and again.
Tanti — Google review
Went to watch a concert for a local band and there were sound problems which soured everyone's experience, including of course the band. The concert area is really small and narrow which results in people constantly pushing through. To top it all it feels like part of the crowd is just there to be seen because a lot of people talked through most of the concert. I'm a regular concert goer and no stranger to this and this was as bad as I've seen. Maybe as a café it's a good place but I am never going back there for a concert.
Iñaki V — Google review
Right off the bat, I should come clean about having met a very special person in this bar. So, I may be a bit biased but I didn't guarantee you'd find romance. La Palma is a discotheque slash cafe which doesn't open until the late afternoon. It has a wide menu of coffee drinks - for you late night coffee folk - but is more well-known as a bar. The music is classic rock, indie and generally anything loosely associated with La Movida. The atmosphere is good, drinks are cheap and the dance floor is a great place to be.
Adrienne S — Google review
Super friendly staff, drinks were very tasty. The stage seemed a bit small but that made the concert very intimate and cozy.
Spooker V — Google review
Great place if you like house music and chilling with friends because this place can do both. Crazy that there are not more people here! Like, it's competing with big clubs on Resident Advisor.
Laurent G — Google review
Miserable, backtail Dj's with lack of sense of taste and groove. Good enough if you're waisted and willing to listen tracks at 130bpm at 0:00.

With DJ sets and club nights featuring rock, rhythm and blues, punk, soul, and hip hop, there's something for everyone at this historic concert hall and nightclub.
We went for the Antikaeaoke night. It was amazing and fun. Not too crowded. Staff was excellent.

Elsten T — Google review
A strange shape for a venue with a limited bar, but… we’re here for the music, ambience etc. A compact venue and great place to watch live music.
Simon C — Google review
Great small venue for a concert, the sound is not the best and the beer a bit expensive, but I got a short good time there, even with the concrete pillar dividing the floor.
Maxime G — Google review
Hire better DJs management. I shouldn’t have to wait three DJs to hear “good” descent danceable music. One who desperately need song transition training and a 14 year old selling you his mixtape is not worth the 20€ you charge for entrance.
Nefertari C — Google review
Worst club ever. Rude service

One of the best places to see a show in Madrid I saw fastball there in March 2019. I really enjoyed the concert fastball is great. The Establishment was very nice and the sound was good. I had a room right next door and really had a good time.

Great show and amazing atmosphere! My father and I were there watching a jazz concert and had a great time!
Ido Y — Google review
Tried to walk in today and the person at the entrance didn’t let us in because they only accept cash for the entrance tickets. We told him thag we live in 2025, laughed and walked away. We found a great rooftop terrace nearby - LA TERRAZA DE SANTO DOMINGO - amazing views and atmosphere - totally recommend it if you find yourselves rejected in a similarly stupid way.
Paul C — Google review
A beautiful venue, a wonderful atmosphere, and a performance worth watching. It was an enjoyable event that felt like living in a movie. If I ever find myself in Madrid again in the future, I'd definitely go. My only criticism isn't the entrance fees, but the alcohol prices are a bit high.
Cengiz K — Google review
You need to arrive 30 minutes in advance to get the only comfortable seating in the entire club - the bench seats. The other chairs are made for children and much too close together, much like some other clubs in Madrid. The staff is excellent. They get five stars. Sound system is very good and they host a ton of great talent.
Tom M — Google review
We went to see a Balkan band on Saturday night and it was great. We were walk-ins so we just had standing but if you book in advance you can get a seat. What really impressed me that there was a group of guys near the bar the were just chatting and making a noise, they were shushed several times by other audience members but carried on but then were asked to leave by the management. This really shows the respect the venue has for the music and I wish more venues would do the same, well done.

Honky Tonk Bar Room in Madrid is a popular spot for live music enthusiasts, featuring local and national blues and rock bands. Visitors can enjoy tribute bands from the '70s, '80s, and '90s as well as unique experiences like open mic nights where audience members are invited to join in on the performance.
Great club with live music. There are two halls. The bottom floor host live concerts and a DJ. The upper floor has DJ all night long.
Jose T — Google review
As non-Spanish speaking tourists, we found this location less than ideal for a fun music experience. However, for avid Spanish rock-n-roll fans, this place could be a haven. Keep in mind that conversations might be challenging due to the excessively dark basement and overwhelmingly loud music. Additionally, seating options are limited as there are no proper chairs in the basement. Instead, you can make do with sitting on the boxing around the pillars.
Nathaniel S — Google review
Great place for some rock and roll music! - really enjoyed the The Martians yesterday
Peter — Google review
The Honky Tonk is one of the last live music clubs remaining in Madrid. Almost every day of the week you can go and see nice local bands performing both international and local rock classics as well as funk, blues and soul. You also can enjoy vibrating jam sessions on Thursday.
José M — Google review
A must go if you like pubs and live music.
Enrique B — Google review
Great ambience and amazing bands every time. Highly recommend.
Luz — Google review
Had fun here enjoying live music but drinks were expensive (5€ for a bottle of estrella) and it is very hard to see the band playing because there is a big column in the middle of the floor. They have tv screens so you can see but not ideal. We had to stand at the very side in order to see the band.
Carlye B — Google review
Very good place with a live music show downstairs. Every time it is a different group, and every time I had a good moment. If you don't like the show you still can go upstairs and enjoy a good DJ. Prices are reasonable BUT it is scandalous to pay 4€ for WATER. It would also be nice to pay with credit card for the wardrobe...

With its excellent acoustics and carefully curated lineup of artists, Clamores is considered one of the legendary jazz bars in the city.
Enjoyable jazz venue. The singer I heard was perhaps not exactly jazz, more contemporary Hispanic, but it was good. I liked the venue, table service, good atmosphere and lively without being crowded
Rod L — Google review
the djs after the concert were horrible, playing the most mainsream pop songs with bad mixing techniques. we had the feeling they are not even djs. the sound was also bad, no bass, painful tones. the place looks cool and bartenders are friendly. 12eur for a cocktail, 5eur for a beer is ok.
Váczy E — Google review
Not suitable for bigger concerts and events in which you actually want to be able to see the artist or performance. There are giant pillars/columns in the way - very uncomfortable space because of this. Sound quality is not very good either.
Coco B — Google review
I've been here a couple of times for stand-up comedy gigs. It is quite well organised when you go I'm. However, I very much dislike that you can't order a drink and pay at the bar. It is table service only. The staff made a lot of noise during the set. So much so that the comedian had to stop and ask them to make less noise a few times. Then towards the end, before the act had finished, they came round with everyone's bills and we were all distracted in the dark having to pay which was a huge distraction for the comedian.
Carolina — Google review
What could I say about the temple of jazz in Madrid... Try to follow them on Social Media to not loose their concerts. Jazz, big bands, soul... You would feel move back in time. The space is downstairs and it is quite dark, so... the perfect ambience! (You can only have drinks here)
Laura G — Google review
This is a great place, always has incredible live music to enjoy and the drinks are good. A nice plan for any night. :)
María E — Google review
I always enjoy the party here, the music is super good and the drinks are normal price, the environment is always fun ✨good vibes only ✨
Paola A — Google review
In my opinion, one of the, if not THE, best nightclubs of Madrid! They mainly put Hip Hop and RnB music on Fridays, and on Saturday it's more a commercial take. Decent prices when it comes to drinks but the reason this place takes the spot is because of it's customer service. The staff is amazing, very friendly and the manager has done an amazing job setting up a place of respect, fun and where the vibes are just amazing. Want to have a fun night in Madrid on The weekends? Clamores is the place to go!

Great vibes and music here! Went to watch some friends perform and had a fantastic time. The drinks were cheap and the employees were kind. It’s not labeled too well on the outside, so we had a hard time finding it.

Live music in Madrid’s center in a relatively small space, where you’re never too far to get a good view of the band. They host bands that play original music as well as cover bands, and DJs take over after the bands play.

Small place pretty well equipped to accommodate rock groups. Sound was good instrument-wise, not great when it is about the singers. Small audience good music, staff brought the minimal service. I guess they like when lot of people are in and they can shine with a better service.

Went to a trance, happycore, experimental live show. Crowd was really nice, inviting. The sound quality was above average, and the decibels were controlled. My only negative was the bartender, he looked tired, apathetic and bothered with every order, he wasn't having a great night. Prices are a bit steep but around normal Madrid prices. Nice venue.
Alejo — Google review
It's a good small late dance club centrally located. Divided in 2 levels where distinctive styles of music are played, so that you can find whatever suits you best (the night I was there, electronic was played in one floor and dance hits in the other). It has a nice crowd and atmosphere and is quite popular

A disaster! The bouncer talked to us in a very unpolite way, pushing us almost. A very well known application had sold tickets for the club and they told us it was a scam, telling us to go away, we paid 20 euros for nothing and got talk to in a very inappropriate way!

2nd time seeing Counting Crows at La Riviera. 3y ago we were on the balcony, this time we got there a bit earlier and managed to get a spot on the floor down by the sound desk. Well worth it. Fantastic show in a brilliant venue with a crowd up for it. See you next time. Will look out for other bands there

We went to see Jason Mraz in concert. Everything other than the stage is at floor level. Plenty bars. There may have been seating up at one of the bars, not sure. It was €10 for a beer so it is very expensive but a lot of venues charge high prices.

Went with a friend to see The Cat Empire in mid September. The venue was full by the 9pm start time. Basically the venue is standing on a single level, with a small amount of Balcony space around the sides. The concrete floor makes the mosh pit uncomfortable for long periods. Drinks were extremely expensive - a 200ml Cola was 6€.

Okay place to see music. The music and sound was good. But a weird vibe. Also there is NO SOAP. It’s not like we just had a horrible pandemic or anything…. So now we know every guy who uses the bathroom has dirty hands.

Great spot for a medium-sized but still intimate concert. I saw THE CAT EMPIRE here in March 2023 and had a blast. Great layout and easy access to the bar. Friendly, fun-loving vibe.

It's not a bad place, bit uncomfortable, very expensive beer, shoddy toilets but great bands like Idles play there so it's a serious address in Madrid to know. And those palm trees ha ha.....well the men's toilets are new, sept 23....that's good...Echo and the bunnymen had a great set, great sound and lights but too short.

My friend and I came here on a Tuesday to enjoy the live music from Beatles4U. It was ... INCREDIBLE. The performance was lively and had the crowd dancing and clapping along. Attendees ranged from about 20 years old to 70 years old. It was such a beautiful experience. The band members were welcoming and so friendly to us Americans. They even signed their setlist and let us take it home! I'll truly cherish it and the experience forever. If you enjoy music of the Beatles, certainly come here on a Tuesday and have the night of your life in Madrid.

La Fontana de Oro is a historic tavern in Madrid that has been around since 1782 and has gone through many name changes. It was the inspiration for the first novel by Benito Perez Galdos and has been frequented by the cream of Spanish society for centuries. The pub offers international beers, Spanish dishes, and a vibrant atmosphere with live music.
A sort of "home away from home" Irish sports bar with a fantastic variety of beer from Guinness to Heineken along with local brews. La Fontana de Oro is a spacious bar with TV screens showing local and international games. I believe there's also live music from time to time. Great place 🔥
Alex G — Google review
Madrid is cheap as chips on the whole. Some amazing features in this establishment and Guinness on tap
Joe C — Google review
This pub has a cool interior and large screens for watching sport and the Guinness was pretty good too. Not so sure about the nuts and chips you get as free tapas. Also there were three pigeons flying around inside when we were there who are probably more interested in the free tapas than we were. No seemed to mind?
Itchy F — Google review
One of the surprises on our trip. We walked right by it on the way to another pub for a pint, but it had a Guinness sign out front, so I wanted to go back and check it out; I'm so glad we did. A very old pub with an eclectic interior and decorating. We only came for a pint, but they had a nice menu with lots of tapas and Spanish cuisine. The pints were good, and they were served with complimentary sausage and tomatoes; nice touch. The design makes it worth stopping in; unique is an understatement. Upstairs is a collection of...well "stuff." Downstairs is cavern-like and very quite. Next time in Madrid we will go there and try the food, and the night scene.
Daniel C — Google review
This place is a total vibe. The bar is top-notch with a solid beer selection — everything was fresh, cold, and served fast. The atmosphere was amazing: warm lighting, good energy, and the kind of place that instantly feels like a local favorite. The highlight of the night? The live Irish music. It was unforgettable — lively, soulful, and seriously fun. It added such a unique charm to the whole experience and had everyone clapping along. If you’re looking for a great night out with good drinks and even better vibes, this bar absolutely delivers. I’ll definitely be back.
Marco M — Google review
La Fontana De Oro is the perfect spot to conclude a beautiful day in Madrid as a tourist. The atmosphere is welcoming and sophisticated, with no rowdy or disruptive individuals. Enjoy excellent drinks, particularly whisky and Gin (opt for the classic London or Mumbai dry gin), delightful music, and a joyful crowd. It has all the elements for a laid-back evening!
Brice L — Google review
Stumbled upon this place while walking the streets. Fantastic experience. We came during happy hour. It is 1Euro Heineken from 1-5pm. We didn’t realize it also came with delicious free tapas. We ordered the chicken escalope which was 7Euros. I honestly can’t express how satisfied we were. We had 8 beers including the tapas and one order of the chicken. The total was 15Euros. The server was extremely friendly. Also this bar was founded in 1780 so it’s been around for a while. The decor is old and I love it. So many throwback memorabilia and items line the walls. Be sure to check this place out! Looks like they have live music at 8pm.

Nestled in the heart of Madrid's lively nightlife, Sala Caracol stands as a beloved landmark in the city's music scene. Renowned for its flamenco roots and diverse lineup featuring both local and international artists, this venue has recently embraced rock music as well. The intimate setting creates a unique connection between performers and their audience, making every concert feel special. With initiatives like 'On Stage' supporting emerging talent, Sala Caracol continues to be a vibrant hub for musical exploration across genres.
This venue is a perfect rectangle with a bar on each side. I'd say 500 people can mostly comfortably fit inside - no seating available. Many of the moderate to big bands play, or have played at Caracol (but obviously not arena-rock big like Bruce Springsteen or The Rolling Stones - those guys do the stadiums) . Pictured here is the Basque band Su Ta Gar. Sound is also quite good, and staff is kind and helpful.

I went to an event called tropical Halloween and it was Brazilian live music. Incredible night, so much fun dancing the night away. The place is great for events.
Gabby J — Google review
Really decent venue, with a perfect layout (in my opinion) - the toilets are right when you enter, so immediately you know where they are and they're equally accessible to all from inside. The sound has always been pretty damn good, especially for such a seemingly low-fi venue. The staff are very friendly and relaxed. Prices for drinks are very high, but that's generally to be expected of a concert venue. Overall, a brilliant little place to see gigs.
Peter Y — Google review
Not a bad venue. I've seen much better venues in Madrid. Honestly I know this place because it's one of the most well known, classic, famous venues in Madrid and when I got on there I was so disappointed with the size and the sound system. Especially the sound system. Again, I've been to many places in Madrid and I can guarantee that there are much better places design wise, sound system wise.... Than this place

Small but great music bar offering live music acts (check the website or programme outside the club for upcoming events). €12 gets you in and a free cocktail, €10 gets you in and a beer. Thereafter, drinks prices are pretty steep at €5 a beer and €13+ for a cocktail. Sound quality is good and the crowd is mixed, mostly 30's and up. The venue can be hired for private functions, but check out the whopping price list.

Loud, dark and crowded late night (early morning) club. Some obviously love it, but it wasn't for me. Maybe I'm too old for this site. ;-)
Antti K — Google review
It's a relatively nice bar. However it is quite small and it has a weird distribution. When I went to the concert, there was no air ventilation, so it smelled like warm death. Also alcohol is quite expensive.
Andreea B — Google review
A lot of men, public of 25-35. The music is not that great, sort of electronic mixes of 2015 songs. Nice staff, the entry is 10€ + a free cocktail. We had a good evening tho!

I go out here quite a lot! It's a fun place to go out with fun music. Some nights they have live music too! It has two floors, so when it gets busy they open the basement, where they play different music. Entrance is 10€, including a drink. Don't get there too early though, as it tends to be dead before 1-2 AM.

Located right before the meeting point of Malasaña and Gran Via, BarCo is a superb bar that hosts outstanding jazz,  funk, rock and blues live performances. Pop and/rock music. Great Ambien and normally crowded. Recommended to go before 2AM so there will be no queue normally for the entrance. Compact air conditioned venue which holds around 120 punters. Good sound system & basic lighting. The toilets are based on an upper level which is off putting if stood watching the bands on the left as a flow of people catches your eye. We had such an amazing night at this jazz club during our trip to Madrid! We went to the 10:30pm session and were absolutely blown away by the energy and talent of the musicians. Clean relatively small rooms, but all that is needed Front desk friendly, and willing to help, but not quick. With relatively low quantity of guests considerable waiting times. Breakfast setting:The tables hardly have the possibility to accommodate a group of 4 together to sit together. Low (too low to sit comfortably during breakfast) tables are used for breakfast and in the evening for the Jazz club (same room) The tables are better suited for a cocktail and less for breakfast. Really breakfast comfort is compromised for the jazzclub setting. Jazzclub: the music that I saw was fantastic and of good quality. The group was interactive and made the evening great. Service during breakfast varied a lot. One young waitress was great, the guys were the opposite. The guys created confusion, came only into action when actively approached and showed a low level of proactive service oriented attitude. The music: the Art Society was a great band and great singing especially Rachel...

The café offers an authentic jazz club atmosphere and specializes in burnt coffee, Irish coffee, caipirinhas, and gin and tonics.
Superb, intimate, old style gem of a jazz club tucked away in Lavapiés. Tonight we watched an excellent trio of musicians from Argentina. Beers cost about 3,70 euros: bargain for live music venues these days. What a treat on a Sunday night. We will return.

Excellent place if you're looking forward to listening to good music. The house has a nice ambiance and the music is cool. However the drink options are a bit limited and if you want to go out for drinks there are many better options around. Also, have dinner before because they have no food options in the menu. But, for jazz, no better options in Madrid.

Nice, small and comfortable. Always with good music, often live music with great musicians. A good variety of drinks (especially whisky, that it's not so easy to find in Madrid). Often have to pay to get in, but it's the price for good live music. I find it a great place really well managed.

The concept of the place is to have dinner while you are listening to music or watching an acrobatic show. One of the things I noticed is the varied audience. There were families coming with grandparents, parents and kids, there were group of friends, there were couples and everything in between. The live DJ was good. The music was just right. Giving place to have conversation but present at the same time. The live show band performed covers of worldwide hits along local songs, and in between a short acrobatic show. A bit scary as they were without a safety net. The overall experience is fun. The only drawback is the dishes were a bit small but the great company compensated. Worth to come. Pls note that sitting is on availability so you may wait a while. Enjoy.

That’s a lovely place. It’s got a big space with different bars, on the second floor there’s some restaurants. Atmosphere is amazing, I believe on weekend there’s always some sort of a concert program, or maybe throughout the week, not sure. I’ve been there a few times on Fridays mostly. Prices are a bit higher than average, but I guess this place is considered a bit fancy. It’s worth to try out, cocktails are incredible.

One of the coolest places to go in Madrid . It's the biggest food center in Europe with everything . You can find an amazing restaurant in the last floor. In the second floor you have the option of getting drinks and food and seeing and watching a live band. It's very hip this place and in the bottom floor you can sit down and enjoy food for almost every ethnicity. It's a very nice place to take you loved one . Or even family and friends . The ambient is really good to talk and enjoy whatever you wanna enjoy. The food is yummi and I can recommend it to everybody .

Good concept. You can sample different country cuisines on a restaurant setting with DJ playing live music. The Japanese teriyaki chicken is too salty but the Peruvian raw fish is something new. The rib is tender and the spaghetti is good.
Simon L — Google review
ECLECTIC FUSION OF SPANISH AND ASIAN CUISINES. Behind Canalla Bistro is Spanish chef Ricard Camarena, whose eponymous restaurant in Valencia has earned him two Michelin stars. The menu combines traditional Spanish dishes (e.g. croquetas, calamar, ensadilla rusa) with Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other Asian elements (e.g. Peking duck, Karaage chicken, Pad Thai). In distinction to other fine dining restaurants, Canalla Bistro offers a somewhat less formal, more "urban" experience. This nonchalant vibe is enhanced by its location on the first floor of Platea Madrid, a gourmet food hall with several other eateries, swathes of people, a DJ and club-like noise levels. It's more a place to go out than to have a peaceful dinner. In my opinion, it's a unique atmosphere with great culinary value. I take one star for the sloppy service, which is unreasonably slow and erratic for Spanish standards. (Note: Many of the other reviews here don't seem to be about Canalla Bistro but rather about the other restaurants and bars in Platea.)

Good location and easy to get to. Great atmosphere and vibe with a live band. Good food but not ideal for vegans. You do, however, have the option to have something made for you off-menu.
Leo H — Google review
The vibe at Tatel is right on. From the moment you walk in, the decor stands out — sleek, contemporary, and incredibly inviting, definitely a fresh take compared to the more traditional Madrid spots. Service? Beyond excellent. There’s a whole team of attentive, knowledgeable waiters ready to help and explain every dish, which was such a plus for someone like me who’s not super familiar with all Spanish food. Their attention made the experience feel extra special. Now, the food — a bit of a mixed bag for me. The eggplant wasn’t my favorite (first time it came out way too salty, but they kindly replaced it). The arugula salad was a total hit though — fresh, flavorful, and big enough to share. The Wellington was also on the salty side, but the solomillo? Absolutely phenomenal. Dessert deserves its own spotlight. Everyone raves about their cheesecake, and yes, it was good… but the apple pie completely stole my heart — warm, rich, and truly unforgettable. As for ambiance, both times I’ve been have felt like a celebration. The first time they had a flamenco performance that elevated the energy, and the second time a woman was singing love songs from the 80s and 90s — perfectly enjoyable and not too loud, so we could still have conversations without shouting. It is definitely on the pricier side for Madrid, but if you’re celebrating something special, I’d say it’s worth the splurge.

It had been a few years since my last visit to Tatel Madrid, and I’m glad to say it’s still as good as I remembered. The food was delicious — well-prepared, flavorful, and nicely presented. The atmosphere was lively and elegant, capturing that unmistakable Madrid energy. Service was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. Overall, Tatel remains a great spot for a stylish dinner in the city consistently good and worth revisiting whenever you’re in Madrid.
Zakos Y — Google review
This is a lovely fine dining experience. It’s definitely on the pricier side but the food didn’t disappoint and the atmosphere was great. The singer on the night we were there was fantastic. The service was great, it probably took a bit longer to get the bill than we would’ve liked but everyone was very friendly. The cheesecake was delicious, a big serving for one person, great for sharing! The beef risotto type dish we ordered was fantastic. The omelette type dish, croquettes and chips we had to start were also fantastic. I’d recommend eating here if you’re looking for a fancy night out where you can dress up. The cocktails I had were also great!

Wonderful place! I am gluten free and there are definitely a number of choices that are naturally gluten free. They were very accommodating as well with the sea bass entree with zucchini noodles as an alternative side. The cocktails and food had great presentation, and the staff was incredibly attentive. The restaurant features a colorful space where guests can enjoy traditional eats, cocktails, live music, and dancing. With its kitchen open until midnight, La Negra Tomasa offers a new experience every day with different live shows.
Great atmosphere, Live latin music. Cocktails were over the bad side, pricey . I don't mind paying for something at least good, we tried the mojito's and the daikiri could not taste the rum. Drink something else( maybe wine or beer) The food was ok, ropa vieja, masas fritas and cuban tamales totally recommend , yuca frita meh! I wouldnT take kids at least not at night, only because the music is loud and gets very crowded, busy but not in bad way . I went for dinner at 10pm with my kids (6-13) we had a good time, but me and my husband grow up having family dinners lile that But as a mom rasing kids in US , I had my doubts Make a RESERVATION ,

La Negra Tomasa is the place to go if you’re into Latin music, dancing, and a high-energy vibe in central Madrid. There’s a real dance floor where people are actually dancing, not just standing around. I went on a Thursday and they had live music, which was fantastic! Perfect for salsa, bachata, or just having a fun, music-filled night. Beers start at €8, but the atmosphere makes it absolutely worth it. Highly recommended if you’re looking to dance, meet people, and enjoy Latin culture in the city.
Sergio M — Google review
This bar charges double what you pay anywhere in the center. Their live music is very mediocre and service rude. 8 euro for a beer worth 3-4 euro in most places. Big Rip off. Stay away.
Stocks C — Google review
I went for just one drink to check out the place and it was 10€ for a cocktail, 5€ for a water. The music was live and fun. The space is very small, so if you’re arriving just for a drink and to watch it’s a bit of a squeeze to get a view of the band and stay out of the way of the people dancing (also fun to watch!) and out of the way of the waiters going to and from the main part of the bar. By midnight the dancing picked up and you will be asked to dance (sadly I didn’t know how to) so if you dance to Latin music definitely check it out! I stayed around 2 hours and enjoyed myself and would return

Tasty Cuban food. We shared the tres leches cake for dessert between 3 of us and it was delicious and more than a big enough portion size. Delightful live salsa music and even though there wasn't much, there was some space to dance. Had a very fun time. Drinks do seem on the more expensive side but everything else is great.
Enzo W — Google review
The food is good and affordable, as a restaurant I recommend it. As a poace to attend the concert and dance as a soial, I don't recommend it. It is expensive, and ypu don't get to dance at all unless you know somebody in beforehand. I did not get the best vibes (mind you, it was a thursday and a sunday).
Daniel D — Google review
The live music and festive atmosphere were nice and the service was good too. Improvements can be made with the food as it is a bit on the pricier end, so value for money was expected. I ate the shrimp tacos which could have been more flavorful. A friend really enjoyed her ropa vieja and margarita. The guac and piña colada were just OK. I liked the tres leches cake and it was the highlight of my dinner.
Safia E — Google review
We tried to book this place for a couple of days, but it wasn't successful. So we went to this restaurant when it opened at 8 pm without a reservation. Luckily, there was a table, we had food and drinks!! Cuban live music was playing from 9pm. Also, all the dishes we ordered were great and they have delicious pina colada!!!! When we went out of the restaurant around 10.30 pm, there were a lot of people waiting outside to get inside!

A great place to have a drink and a wholesome meal. An Irish pub that delivers on its friendly staff and atmosphere. Guinness flows freely here especially when the football is on the TV’s. Only thing missing was 20 lads standing outside in the cold and wet having a smoke at half time 😝. Would definitely come back for a proper drink although I came for lunch and a beer. Couldn’t go past the Guinness pie which didn’t disappoint. Prices are very reasonable for the portions served. All round top notch establishment

El Chapandaz is a popular cave-inspired bar located in Moncloa, near one of Madrid's largest universities. Since 1971, it has been known for its unique drink called 'leche de pantera,' which is a milk-based cocktail dispensed from the ceiling. The interior is designed to resemble a cave with dim lighting and stalagmites, creating a lively and hip atmosphere that attracts both locals and students.
Anytime I visit Madrid, Spain I always come here for the Leche de Pantera! Not only does the leche come from the ceiling but the overall mixture is quite delicious! My wife and I always try to get medium as the bartender because she adds that extra flair to the experience. At night it is a college hangout/nightclub so if your not into that show up early. I do recommended this place if it is your first time in Madrid.

For anyone who has come to Madrid to party on a relatively low budget, this is the place. Overall the atmosphere of this historic venue is what truly sells it. The entire place is designed like a cave, and they have their own drink which gets poured out of a stalactite in the ceiling. The music is always amazing, obviously favouring reggaetón hits with a small sprinkle of English or American music as well. My friends and I are university students and we feel incredibly safe and surrounded by our demographic here. You can get in without paying entry before midnight (not sure if this changes after that) and the drinks are around 7-8 euros for a spirit and around 4-5 euros for a beer.

Impossible not to have fun at this piano bar! It’s a mix of a lounge, piano bar, and karaoke joint, where the later it gets, the more packed and progressively more wild the crowds get. The songs range from old American classics to what sounded like vintage Spanish tunes, all being crooned out by a rotating pair of singer and piano player. Some reviews complained about the overpriced drinks and a tourist trap vibe, but when I went, all I saw and people I talked to were locals. The drinks were what you would expect to pay for a stand-alone place like this. Staff were all friendly enough and more importantly got your drink to you fast. Intrusive Bar Madrid, Spain Blues Jam Session Opener: Joe and the Jackpots On my last night in Madrid, I decided not to go to the place where you can see the city at night from up above, but looked up live music clubs, and found this location. 10 minutes away from my hotel room near SO the city center. Now I have to say That I’m not disappointed at all with my experience that happened to me there that evening. It is a Blue session on Mondays that they have somehow they put the label of acid jam, which does not make any sense to me because it’s just simply Blues. And well done this evening. The band Joe and the jackpots the opening band opened the stage for people to join their blues jam session. One of the highlights for me was a woman playing along with another guy the harmonica. I had a chance to jam with the guys and I have to say it was a pleasure. Corbett Santana jams in Intruso Bar Madrid, Spain. Drinks well cost you five bucks for one of those little red beers. They call them which was my favorite. The atmosphere was nice lots of young people if you want to call it between the ages of 20 and 25. I have to say that I got a Stage a nice bar nice area where people can stand. Watch the show. They even have a sound man there and they have regular program that you need to check out if you’re in the town. Live music here rocks!!! Oh my god, we had such a wonderful blues night with so talented musicians. Sound, setlist, everything was so beautiful for a blues lover. I wish that music would go for hours. Later, it became a club environment but still with a cool playlist. I was very happy to spend time in such a nice musical ambience in Madrid.

Interesting music, if you’re looking for alternative sounds, we went on an epic jazz night, which was fenomenal because they had musicians from the Audience joining in. It was a real JAM SESSION :)

Went for a music event. Had a great time. :)

Live music every day !! No food, not event snacks. Check their web page for schedule.!

This place is absolutely great. The highlight is the music, which is a combination of blues, rock and jazz. The musicians are incredibly talented and have amazing guitar, saxophone and drum solos. Other nights they have rap sessions. The drinks are a bit expensive, like 5 euros for a beer. The place itself is beautiful from the inside and cozy. The bartenders are welcoming and kind. Top place ❤️

Didn’t try the food. A little spendy with the drinks but great great atmosphere. Went there on a Monday to watch great stand up comedy and a blues band. Will definitely recommend for a fun evening. Had to pay an entrey fee of 6€ for all the events.

Bar
Tal Fulanita is a small bar and nightclub located in Chueca, Madrid. While it caters mainly to a lesbian crowd, it welcomes everyone who respects others and wants to have a good time. The music selection features popular Spanish and international hits that keep the crowd pumped and dancing on the club's two floors. Tal Fulanita hosts regular events such as comedy nights, karaoke, and even its own football league matches.
Awesome for a lesbian bar! The staff is all super friendly and the atmosphere is uplifting. The Dj is great as well. €10 cover per person, but it includes one drink.

My lesbian friend recommended this bar, a place she considered as her second home years back. The reviews said they are okay with straight folks. I wanted to see what she had been talking about, but they didn't let me in. Not inclusive of all the genders!

First night out in Madrid and wanted to go to a lady's place. The lady + bouncer at the door spoke English and explained it's €10 entry with a cocktail (Copa) or 2 beers. It was half empty around 11:30pm and picked up around 1-2am (Spanish people party late). Met and danced with some cool new friends! Felt very safe. After 3am, they offer another location to dance called Sala Vesta (fulanita vip + another entry price ~€10). The bartenders are beautiful and friendly! I returned a handful more times during my stay during pride week! So fun!

I absolutely adored Tal Fulanita. As an American in a predominantly Spanish speaking country; I felt well at home amongst my community. The individual working the door was polite and knew off the bat we didn't speak Spanish but made us feel welcomed. Ordering drinks wasn't hard at all either. It was quite easy if you at least show you're trying to speak a little Spanish. There wasnt a cover/charge when I arrived at the door. Drinks were extremely cheap and music was great. It was upbeat and I could definitely "bop" or do a two step. However, get here early because it is a smaller venue and does get packed with women and people in the community. I went on a Saturday around 2300 and it wasn't terribly crowded. I had a great time and would recommend an of the fellow gay+ to come here to Tal Fulanita.

The employees are very rude, there always a huge line to the bathroom and they always step in front of the clients who were already in the line. The way they speak with people with they deliver the drinks its also not adequated. Very very rude. We were there in the 31st of December and thanks to this behavior we will not coming back.

Fun until my wallet was pickpocketed and my friend's purse was stolen. The staff was not helpful!! 😔
Eden L — Google review
On a Saturday night there is a drink minimum which you pay at the door 10 euro. And we waited in line for quite sometime. On the upside it was mostly women
Terah B — Google review
Bad place . They want 10€ at the entrance is not even a hot spot and THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!!! COINCIDENCE ??? I THINK NOT !
