Located in a former steel mill, Magna Science Adventure Centre is a captivating science and technology museum that offers interactive exhibits and an outdoor play area. It pays homage to Sheffield's steel heritage with four pavilions dedicated to the elements of earth, water, air, and fire. The highlight is 'The Big Melt,' a bone-shaking show that vividly recreates the steelmaking process.
Could have been better if we hadn't hit it the same time as coachloads of primary school kids, but we still managed to see and interact with most of the exhibits. Definitely a great place for kids of that age, with an amazing play park just across the road as well
Ghislaine H — Google review
It was the 1st time we've been to Magna this weekend and we loved it. Lots to do and see, the big melt was amazing and got my 6 year old attention which is not easy to do. My sons favourite floor was the water floor and he was drenched when we came out of it. Luckily we had a towel to hand but it was good fun. We had a mix of a picnic and food from the cafe (the cafe food is expensive). The playground adventure had lots for all ages and my partner even went on the zip line too. The water park looks lovely but my boy said it was too cold to go in.
Laurie P — Google review
An absolutely epic place for kids and adults alike! So interactive and interesting it kept us all entertained for hours. I loved the set up representing the 4 elements earth, wind, fire and water plus I found the big melt interesting (a little jumpy for my 2 year old). The outside park was huge and if we lived closer we would be there all the time! They had standard play area equipment but standpits I couldn't get my 2 year old out of and a water park I couldn't get my 5 year old out of! 100% recommend and we will be going back!

Went to the Magna science centre today and it was great. The exhibition was interesting, interactive and quite inspiring. The place is massive but it felt full of interesting things to do and look at. I felt like I was on red dwarf at one point haha. My niece enjoyed it and got involved. The cafe is ok, there are plenty of toilets and there is also a good park outside. The bonus is that you pay once and get an annual pass free, fantastic!
Ruthanna — Google review
We got there very early, highly recommend getting there for opening time. It is quite dark so be aware, it can be quite noisy so if you have a sensor problem with sound take ear protection. There are plenty of interactive things to do, you will be very entertained, great for all age groups, we went with a toddler and he love all of it ( not the noisy parts of course) They have toilets on every floor and seats for you to rest on every floor and entrance. They have a cafe with plenty of seating they also have a specific packed lunch area too with is different and nice. The food prices where good not expensive at all. They have a large outside play area with a dry part and wet part. Be prepared for your kids to gey wet. Bout indoor and out. Best are is the year round ticket
Janine R — Google review
Absolutely fantastic day out! Can't wait to visit again. The park and splash pad outside is a day in itself. Our 18 month old loved running round and all the interactive things. Cafe was nice, staff friendly. Only thing I'd say to improve was the baby changing facilities were a bit rough and would be nice to have some stations dotted round to refil water bottles. Otherwise really recommend Magna!
Lauren N — Google review
Went today with a 10 year old. He started off looking bored, but after 4 hours had to drag him out! Very good value for money. The exhibitions were great, but often too dark to see the words on the exhibits. Cafe was ok, long queues at busy times and slow service. The “Big Melt” was a little disappointing to start with but got better, although a lot of small children were taken out screaming - it’s very loud. We then were invited to tour the factory floor - probably just those with older kids- I loved it, but it went on a bit too long, just looking at rusty old machines. Be aware, it’s very cold, it’s a cavernous steel shed with no heating, it’s often rather dark and uneven floors, and the Water exhibit is, quite wet ! Outside the adventure playground is huge and suitable for a wide age group, very clean and well maintained
Anne S — Google review
Wow, absolutely amazing day! If I'd read other reviews before buying tickets I may not have gone but what a mistake that would have been. Went with a 9 and 10 year old and they enjoyed every minute. So many interactive things for them to do and so much to see. We could have stayed much longer, will definitely make use of the annual pass! The outdoor play area and water area is brilliant and a day out in itself. How anyone says they got round the museum in an hour is beyond me. I couldn't get the kids out! Was definitely not cold anywhere although im sure thats different in winter months but I'd happily wrap up to go back.

Clifton Park Museum, located in the heart of Rotherham, offers a fascinating exploration of the town's natural and cultural history within an 18th-century home. The museum features interactive exhibits such as a children's range kitchen and Nelson the Lion, a real lion guarding the entrance to a secret tunnelled tree. Visitors can also enjoy displays of retro toys and historical period clothing for children to dress up in.
An excellent museum with a wide range of exhibits showing the many aspects of Rotherham and surrounding districts. The museum also has an archive section with a vast database of entries. For a well earned break there is a fully equipped café and souvenir shop. Clean and tidy toilets are nearby. Well worth a visit!

A good day out looking at the gardens and museum. There's more to see than you might think. Friendly staff and excellent cakes in the café.

We had our wedding there and it was lovely. The staff where very helpful and friendly
Karl S — Google review
Really nice local museum specific to the Rotherham area. We met a very knowledgeable guide who pointed out specific objects and explained their history to the family. Nice cafe space with outdoor seating (and ice creams) on a hot day. Beautiful park with lots of things to see and do if you want a longer day out.
Catherine W — Google review
Its still fine but its missing the museam part, there's so much over the years that used to be there, that now isn't, there's also rooms upstairs about woman empowerment, that parts just stupid, its a museum.. they need to get a grip with those rooms and repurpose them.
Lynamator — Google review
We went yesterday and the museum was really clean but we was disappointed at the lack of old items like it was before. . Like the courtyard has gone with the penny farthing the kitchen has been opened up my kids loved going round the museum looking at that and the old nursery and the old plates crockery etc but sadly it has gone to other displays now which doesn't really interest the grandkids
Amanda W — Google review
Great Park and not busy during weekday. Playing equipment and huge sand area a bonus. The mini rides for kids within Clifton Park are also great with friendly staff (you purchase a top up card which is scanned for each ride so no messing with change). Food place provides bog standard yummies and ice cream van there too who could ask for more 😊 We'll worth a good day out.
Amanda T — Google review
Nice looking building in a great park, staff welcoming, actual rooms and interior a bit basic but interesting, but made up for by the various displays throughout, quite child orientated, though plenty to keep an adult entertained. 5 stars because of the cafe, my jacket potato was 10/10, delicious, give that girl a raise !! Coffee good and cakes looked fantastic but I was too full to indulge. Well done all.

What an amazing place showing lots of history. All vehicles on display told a different story. Lots of memorabilia on display. Added bonus with a trip out to Conisborough Castle on a old double decker. Definitely a great afternoon out.

Open one Sunday a month so you have to plan your visit, but you can pay on the door and the ticket price includes a free bus journey. I brought my 2 year old and he loved seeing all the vehicles. Also 2 coffees and 2 pastries in the cafe was around £7

This museum is fantastic. All the displayed vehicles are in amazing condition. Loads to see. The staff are a credit to the museum. So friendly and knowledgeable. Our company held an even at the museum last week and it was so well run.

We hired an old bus from the SYTM for our wedding this weekend. They helped us out last minute after our original supplier pulled out and they were fantastic. The 2 chaps that came out with the bus were lovely. The bus was dressed for us which was a lovely touch also. All the guests were aboard and had a great time as well. Thank you so much SYTM.

Rotherham Minster, a Church of England church originally constructed in the 14th century, has been a cornerstone of the region for over a millennium. The gothic architecture, including stained glass windows and high-vaulted ceilings, exudes European charm and offers visitors an enchanting experience. The church is renowned for its 12 bells and serves as a focal point in downtown Rotherham.
This is a beautiful building in a location up the hill so good views all around and down onto the town. The stone work is lovely with intricate decorative features and inside there are wonderful examples of stained glass in the windows and striking ceiling displays. There were only a couple of people in the building when I visited but it was plain to see that this is very much community oriented with children’s play areas, tables and chairs in addition to the pews and also lots of information.
Anne S — Google review
It looks a lovely building, and I really wanted to see inside. I was disappointed it was closed, especially as all the online information said it was open from 10.00-12.00 on Saturday.

Quite an interesting experience. We took gran kids to see Museum of the Moon. I would highly recommend a visit. PS you have to book, it's FREE!!
Petter G — Google review
Nice. Really good to visit. A lot of interest history to be found. Unfortunately showing signs of untidy neglect and could do with some attention. No-one in sight when we visited. Check times before visiting. Not open much really.
John H — Google review
Impressive from the outside. Found one info board in the surrounding area about an old pub next door that was demolished. Not open when I was there around 10am.
Ian B — Google review
Visited on the 19th August for the Thomas Rotherham exhibition. I joined the tour of the Bell tower which was amazing. Malcom was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. So was the warden Richard. The church is an amazing place well worth a visit.
Caroline B — Google review
Beautiful building. Visited when in Rotherham for the first time. Monday afternoon about 2pm, was able to access the Church for quiet and private prayer. There is no holy water available by the main entrance door (or anywhere I saw inside). Also, have to say I do not think they reserve the sacrament (couldn’t see any sanctuary lamps at the high Altar or chapel) which is a shame. The presence of Christ would have been welcome for my prayers. Did not attend a Mass / Eucharist service but would like to.

Museum Of The Moon - sound bath (event) Enjoying a relaxing sound bath under the moon! Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface. Sound baths are a meditative practice involving the use of resonant music. This creates an immersive sound that fills the space, and the body, aiming to help people relax and let go of stress, anxiety, or other worries and concerns. People report feeling deeply relaxed after sound baths, which may have health benefits. This event was part of a day of programming by WOW Rotherham.

The facility features a well-designed play frame, dance studio, slide, climbing zone, and seating area to keep kids entertained and joyful. Visitors praise the friendly staff who organize activities like party games and face painting while serving delicious cooked food at reasonable prices.
Really enjoyed my granddaughters fourth birthday party here. Great place, staff are very good and made sure the children had time to play on the equipment but also time for games with them. I was impressed with how they engaged with the children while they ate, magic with the dragon and made it an interesting time. I wondered if a tinkling bell or chime bar might help when the helpers needed to attract the children( and adults ) attention when they were wanting to speak sometimes

Went for a party for my son’s birthday and can say it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were lovely and interactive with all the children and made my little boy feel so special. A big thank you to the lady hosting tonight as she did amazing, ensuring to keep everything on track and the children in order whilst making sure it was fun. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Worth every penny so thanks Camelot

What a wonderful birthday party experience we had for our son’s 5th birthday this weekend. The host put her heart and soul into greeting, entertaining the children at dinner time and disco time, had the whole room in laughter and engaged and honestly did everything she could to make it an enjoyable experience for the birthday boy and his family but also individual guests throughout the night. I honestly could not have asked for anymore and this place has clearly made a fabulous impression on children coming to their parties time after time as my son asked specifically to have his party here after being a guest at other parties and he felt very special. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts we will remember this party forever and in certain we’ll be attending plenty more as guests!

The impressive new facility at Valley Centertainment Park in Sheffield is the largest Monkey Bizness establishment to date. With its striking triple pyramid design structure and a spacious cannon arena featuring an innovative super canon, this family entertainment center offers a secure, hygienic, and enjoyable setting. Located at Unit 3, Valley Centertainment on Broughton Lane in Sheffield, S9 2EP, United Kingdom, Monkey Bizness provides children with ample space for movement.
My little boy loves this place! I just purchased our 2nd annual pass it’s that good !!! Great activities, great facilities, large food and snack selection and the staff are super friendly. Some newly added arcade style games add a little something for the older kids (and adults) Even when it’s busy there’s still plenty of space to do your own thing if you prefer. Staff are always happy to assist you and keep it clean and welcoming xxxx

We have had my son's birthday party today and he has loved it. Ellie our party host was brilliant and so helpful. Checked we had everything we needed, and nothing was an issue for them. All the staff were so friendly and we would definitely recommend!
Beth H — Google review
Monkey Bizness is honestly one of the best places to take the kids. There’s loads for them to do, it’s always clean, and you can actually relax a bit while they run around and have fun. Beth and Elisha are brilliant – always friendly, always helpful, and just genuinely lovely people. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it really makes a difference. Also, I’ve got to mention the iced caramel lattes – they’re surprisingly good. Definitely a bonus while the kids burn off some energy.
Adam A — Google review
The place is very well equipped and very clean. The trouble is the staff. Our son is an 8 year old autistic non verbal boy who helped himself to balloons that were displayed near reception. Unfortunately one of the staff told my wife we needed to keep a closer eye on him. Not very thoughtful words to an already burned out frought SEN mom. We weren't made to feel very welcomed by the staff. They should be more inclusive and autism aware. It's difficult enough with a disabled child and staff making comments like that isn't helpful at all
John A — Google review
We love Monkey Bizness so much, it’s our favourite soft play in the area! We come once a week and my daughter (20 months) loves it and always has done! Such a good wide variety and they are allowed in the bigger section whilst supervised so lots of opportunities for fun! ☺️. It’s really clean and the staff are constantly sweeping up which is so refreshing to see! The staff are also really friendly ❤️ Also the food is really nice! Some soft plays have boring standard kids food and MB is so much nicer! We love the pizzas and the cakes 😍 Lastly, you can buy a balloon sword at the end! Which is usually how I bribe my daughter to leave 😂. See you next week!
Selina D — Google review
We had our daughter’s 4th Birthday party here on Friday. It was really easy to book, the choice of packages were clear and the staff on the day were lovely. Our party host, Nikkie was a god send! 13 kids at our party and she handled everything. All the food, drinks, sorting out the cake, cutting the cake and popping them into party bags. Gathering the kids to sit down and eat. Everything. Fantastic party host - thanks again Nikkie The party food was better than expected: all the kids seemed to enjoy it. The unlimited dilute was great too as they were all very thirsty running about in the play area. All in all, my daughter and her 12 friends had a fantastic time and it went very smooth for us as parents as everything was taken care of.
Jade S — Google review
Excellent experience here. Had a 7-year olds party at MB, Sheffield for 18 kids. It was well managed and stress-free. Lots of time for the kids to play, plenty of juice provided and nice private party room with lovely food (pizza and chips were really good!) The cake is cut for you and put into party bags - such a helpful thing! The kids had such a nice time. I feel like the adults were pretty relaxed too with easy access to teas, coffees and food at the cafe. Our second party here, highly recommend. Staff were lovely - especially our party host, Ellie, who was really kind, efficient and lovely with the kids. Thanks Ellie!

Nestled in the heart of South Yorkshire, Rotherham Leisure Complex is a vibrant hub for both relaxation and activity. This modern facility boasts an impressive array of amenities, including a swimming pool, fitness center, sports hall, climbing wall, and even a bowling alley. Whether you're seeking to unwind or engage in some invigorating exercise, there's something here for everyone.
I’ve had no issue with the facilities. The staff that I have interacted with have all been polite and helpful. It can be a bit busy but no more than you would expect for a leisure centre.
Steven C — Google review
Attended today with my mother for the first time and upon arrival , there was a customer signing up. Two staff members were on the front desk, one was serving the lady and the other did not acknowledge us. Staff on reception were not welcoming or friendly. Wouldn’t hurt to smile. The changing rooms were for both genders and the smelt was quite unpleasant. The smell of poo/ urine hit our nostrils as soon as we entered. There was a nappy in a changing cubicle on the bench that I walked into which was not great. We only got to use the sauna for 3mins and were told shortly to leave, not sure if this had anything to do with a school swimming session. The pool water was quite warm. With the amount of filth, you would think that you could smell some Chlorine in the pool, but we couldn’t smell any at all which was quite worrying considering the hygiene levels do not appear to be the best. I thanked the staff on my way out and was ignored. As previous reviews have stated, cleanliness of the leisure centre needs improvement and staff should try improve on their customer service skills. Not sure if I will attend again.
Angel R — Google review
Great facility at a very reasonable price. We took our grandson swimming. The only improvement I would recommend would be to add a few more family changing rooms as there are only 3 and we did have a fair wait.
Rob H — Google review
Changing rooms absolutely stink like sewerage. They don’t tell you at reception or any signs saying you need a pound coin for locker. Had to bring toddler back through to reception in swim wear to ask for a coin but they said take your bags swimming with you instead. Floors need a really really deep clean it stinks. I won’t ever come here again
Toni R — Google review
The reception staff are incredibly rude. We've been using this for over a year now with zero improvement in customer service. The changing rooms never seem to be clean with litter all over the place and a strong smell of urine and faeces. This is a community pool and portrays a very poor image of Rotherham Borough Council.
Joseph B — Google review
Staff on reception are more interested in chatting to a cleaner than someone looking to visit . Left after 10 minutes. Suggest you close it down and save our council tax paying their wages.
Mysterysimon1 — Google review
Absolute dog toffee this place.. I take my niece here for her swimming lessons, which are always late.. there's no real structure or progression to the lessons. And to add insult to injury, the reception staff are down right ignorant. Cancelling the membership, they don't deserve a penny.
Joe — Google review
It's a dull place generally and the water in the big pool is barely heated. I get so cold I have to go in the sauna to warm up. Miserable staff. People get in your way in lane swims all the time. Also very creepy mixed changing rooms and showers, not comfortable or relaxing.

Located in the heart of Rotherham, Centenary Riverside Nature Park is a peaceful and beautiful nature reserve that's perfect for a walk. The park also features steel henge and deck chair sculptures, which add interest.
Go in the spring. Wildflowers are gorgeous. Paths are mown. Lots of birds and evidence of wildlife. Steelhenge is very cool. Perfect place for a walk.

Probably the saddest, most depressing place I have visited. Strewn with pollution and rubbish, not pleasant and not well looked after. There is an interesting steel henge sculpture at the top but I'm surprised this place isn't biologically dead with all the rubbish strewn in the water and leeching in from the surrounding industrial businesses.
Vee D — Google review
Sadly the site is neglected for whatever reason. There used to be a large maintained pond on the top bit with a walkway for dipping, but the liner has been pulled away and of course we've had drought but had the pond been maintained, the sticklebacks may have survived. They were left in one small pool under the lily pad but it's just mud now and all the snails and the fish are dead. I know ponds have their cycles, but this has been deliberately destroyed and so it had no chance. Like so many projects, they get funded initially but can't be kept up. Sad.

Lovely hidden nature reserve in the centre of Rotherham. It was very muddy around the lake which is to be expected as it is part of the flood plane for the river Don and we have had a lot of rain. The upper path was much better and has lovely views over Rotherham. Our dog enjoyed the walk round too. The steel henge and deck chair sculptures add interest. Looking forward to going in the summer when the wild flowers are in bloom. Bonus was seeing a beautiful kestrel fly over our heads.

Small nature reserve situated on old steel works . It's not huge but it's a pleasant enough, there are significant signs of wildlife, I saw traces of rabbits and foxs, going on the amount of rabbit droppings there must be a significant population. The sculptures are nice and use the remains of the steel production in the area.
Shox W — Google review
Great little place to walk the dogs although I don't recommend going after heavy rain it is after all a flood plain and the lower part is prone to flooding
Andrew B — Google review
Lovely place for a nice walk. No signposts, no advertisements and Satnave tries to make you walk over a railway track that's fenced off. Absolute nightmare to find.
David R — Google review
Love this place I take my dog for 25 minute walks and take my telescope at night for darkness, it's peaceful, clean and quiet and if you do go and see a bit of rubbish just pick it up and put it in nearest bin, last time I went there was only 1 McDs cup, its lovely

Hollywood Bowl Sheffield is a modern bowling alley with 26 high-quality lanes, an American-inspired diner, and amusement arcades. It's a perfect family day out with plenty of activities beyond bowling. The venue also features a dedicated games area and arcade for added entertainment. Guests can use their own footwear for bowling and there are ATMs and change machines available on-site. Booking in advance is recommended due to its popularity, but walk-ins are also welcome.
I recently visited Hollywood Bowl Sheffield with a group of friends, and we had an amazing time! The bowling lanes were in excellent condition, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great evening. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms, which is always a plus. We also enjoyed the variety of lighter bowling balls, which made it easier for everyone to participate and have fun. The bumpers and ramps were a great addition, especially for those who needed a bit of extra help. Booking online was a breeze, and the staff did a fantastic job of organizing our group and making sure we had the right lane. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and delicious, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. I highly recommend Hollywood Bowl Sheffield for a fun and memorable outing with friends or family. We can’t wait to come back!

Me and my daughter regularly go here in the VIP lane as she is autistic and I am dyslexic. ADHD and we absolutely love going there in the VIP lane they bring drinks over to you and then we go in the arcade after it’s a perfect little day and doesn’t break the bank also, if you have disabilities, you get a discount for Bowling. Just scroll to the bottom when paying online and click that option do not forget or take evidence with you if paying at the venue .

Love this place! There was a total of 10 of us we wasn't rushed it took a while to get through 2 games. We ordered drinks through the app and they came so quickly, no need to que at the bar. Always a working walking about if you need anything.

I had an amazing experience at this location, with two team members really standing out. The lady at reception went above and beyond to assist us, ensuring we had all the information we needed and making us feel completely at ease. Another staff member was equally helpful and engaging. Both were attentive, friendly, and made our visit so much more enjoyable. It's been a long time since I've experienced such great service, and I would happily return. The staff made the day absolutely perfect!

So today I went to Hollywood bowl to have a bacon burger when we walked everything was normal then when they served the food they forgot the cheese and bacon so we went up to say you forgot to put the cheese and bacon on and showed the receipt for proof then a few minutes Minutes later he gave us the cheese and bacon then when I took my first bite the bacon was pink and raw then I almost chocked on a piece of the bacon. And struggle to breathe so it took me A minute or so to spit it out then as we was about to leave we saw an employee with a black cooking outfit And he smashed A glass bottle by accident and that was the same guy who cooked the bacon which was raw if you were going to get a Bacon burger, I would highly not recommend coming to Hollywood bowl and instead go to Burger King or McDonald’s
Frazer A — Google review
Loved it we had fun once we'd actually got on the lane, too few staff but apparently that's the norm, never any about when needed, too long a queue even though we booked to 2 o'clock on a Tuesday (school hols) we didn't get to the lane til 2.15 due to the queue and only 1 staff available on the till. Hollywood bowl pay your staff more than blooming minimum wage and you may get them to stay longer and/or more sfaff
Nadine ( — Google review
Great atmosphere, lovely staff especially on main counter. Crew member was a bit arsey when we finished our games on the VIP lane. Literally jumping down our throats to move on and clear our stuff when last ball was barely rolled. Need to check that sh!t guys. Only thing that ruined my experience with my kids on a night out. Less likely to come if that's how crew members think that's how you talk and treat people. Aside from that it was great.
Munzoor ( — Google review
They advertise that they close at 11pm so we went to play in the arcade however they had closed the change machine 40 minutes before they closed. They wouldn’t even open the till to let us get change this is unfair on the customers who want to play . It shouldn’t be shut that soon before closing the blonde girl and curly brown hair boy were not understanding and I’m deeply upset at this service.

Never been before until today and heard great things. Needs better signage on building or on fence outside as easy to drive past. Sadly price had gone up significantly but no notifications of price change on social media or online. Still had cheaper price at the till my friend questioned it to be told it had just gone up. Skate hire Fab no problem Ring great Clean near ring Lots of dumped bags everywhere so could use some lockers or hooks. We did skate and eat. Cafe was rammed and small lots of people sitting without food or drink. Lots had left rubbish everywhere despite signs and bins. Food freshly cooked so make sure you factor that in. Chips were nice. Slush or Fruit shoot included Good selection of cakes My daughter enjoyed chocolate cake. Service changed alot depending who you got in cafe. Girl with dark hair was great. All round kids loved it would go again. Needed to open up seating upstairs would have been great.

An unassuming industrial unit that hides a wonderful roller skating arena and public rink. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cafe is excellent. They cater for parties of all ages, private functions and even football parties. They have several pre-organised functions throughout the year such as ladies nights or Halloween parties. Miniature golf course
Paradise Island Adventure Golf Sheffield is the perfect destination for a fun-filled family outing. This vibrant indoor facility features two immersive 18-hole miniature golf courses, each adorned with tropical palm trees, jungle ruins, and captivating statues that transport you to a Caribbean paradise. The venue also includes Pirate Cove, an exciting play area designed for children aged 0 to 12, allowing parents to relax while their kids enjoy safe and energetic playtime.
This is a great place to go with groups and families perfect for adults and children. We visited on a Sunday and took advantage of the great 2 for 1 deal with a tram ticket. The two courses both have 18 holes and are challenging to complete with many fun features, particularly on course two! A really enjoyable first visit and we will be back.
Adam B — Google review
Cheap fun family day out, they have 2 x 18 golf courses to choose from, downstairs is the beach course and upstairs which we chose is the Aztec jungle course, for both adults and children and each hole isn’t too difficult and completely different from the next which is always good. Discounted price if you pay to do both of the 18 holes so 36 total on the same day.
Toby H — Google review
This was a superb venue for golfing, where me and my friend got a 2 for 1 crazy golf deal along with 50% off for user of a tram ticket! One of the courses is based on a temple and begins with boxes as you move on up, followed by statues that represent the temple. The jungle course is exciting as it goes along a peaceful setting, featuring different decorations that imitate nature and some holes even have obstacles to navigate around! Golf clubs are available right away at reception, staff were really nice too.

I’m disappointed that I’ve had to give this visit 3 stars instead of 5 but had it spoiled by one of the staff members. Alex (I’m gathering by the name badge) is quite frankly one of the rudest and most incompetent customer service workers I’ve ever had the displeasure of interacting with. She was rude, dismissive and generally unpleasant to deal with. She ignored me and my husband upon arrival and I had to loudly greet her to get her attention as she was too preoccupied staring at a computer screen to be bothered serving. Through the whole interaction she was loudly sighing, snapping at us and slamming around items on the counter top and seemingly doing her best to drive away business. Whenever we tried asking any questions as we had never been before the receiving glare just wasn’t worth the hassle. Despite this awful experience the course we chose was fun and had a great level of difficulty that I’d recommend for all ages. Truly the only thing that saved the visit was the other member of staff that we interacted with Niamh who appeared to be the manager on duty at the time. In comparison to her colleague she was incredibly polite and enthusiastic when interacting with us and answered several questions that we asked (about their party and group offers) to an outstanding level, she went above and beyond to help us and it helped change my opinion on the visit. Although I didn’t raise a grievance about the other staff member at the time I hope some proper training can be given to staff about how to properly interact with a person and not treat them as an inconvenience when trying to have a day out.
Katie H — Google review
Never posted about booking process before - But Claire (I think the manager) was helpful and polite. She made the ease of booking a fairly large event seem easy seamless. Great customer service
Dhillon S — Google review
I decided to book here because we were staying at Gullivers and wanted something to do after closing. We arrived slightly earlier than we booked but got straight in. The girl on the front was friendly and welcoming. Playing the first couple of holes, I thought there was an issue with the course, as it seemed uneven, But after a few more we realised it was supposed to be like that and made the rounds more challenging, which is what you want. Both courses were fun to play, the themes were good too. It wasnt too busy either, so didnt feel the need to rush our turns. Next time Im in Sheffield I will definitely come back here.
Linz — Google review
I recently visited this golf facility featuring a relatively small course designed for young players. While the concept and layout are suitable for kids, the venue suffers from a serious lack of ventilation. The indoor environment is extremely hot and humid, creating uncomfortable and at times almost suffocating conditions. This issue was noticeable during my first visit in the winter, when guests were already struggling with the air quality. Unfortunately, my second visit in the summer proved even more challenging. I strongly recommend that the management address this problem by installing a proper air-conditioning system or significantly improving the ventilation. Without these changes, the experience is likely to remain unpleasant for both children and accompanying adults.
Rafat T — Google review
Not very good at all. The money these charge is crazy. Far too over priced. Most of the holes are the same, no air con and nothing special at all. Go somewhere else rather that here. We got a deal using another site so it was around half price and I still feel robbed.

Boston Castle, a historic hunting lodge recently opened to the public, offers a walk through British history. The small exhibit inside and ample walking paths make it an ideal place to immerse oneself in the culture. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Rotherham countryside from the top. The castle also features a viewing platform on the roof that provides stunning vistas of Rotherham and Sheffield. Additionally, visitors can explore Boston Park and its surrounding areas for a pleasant experience.
We visited for a children's art event and had a lovely walk afterwards

Really interesting stop. Maybe an hour's visit. It's free and the volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a talk about the history, a guided tour and a visit to the roof which has amazing views across Rotherham and Sheffield. As I say, it's free and the parking is free. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended

Had never been but glad we did. The views from the castle are great but go to the viewing platform on the roof and Rotherham and Sheffield stretch before you. Amazing trying to figure out what you can see. Well worth a visit. Staff can also fill you in on the history. One of Rotherham's little gems that is so easily overlooked. Worth walking through the grounds and the cemetery just down the hill is worth a walk around. Includes war graves
David W — Google review
Boston Castle is now a small visitor attraction with historical information and displays on the history of the Castle, an interactive touch screen, and children’s costumes and games. Large hard standing car park and free parking There is also access on request to a Roof Top viewing platform for visitors to enjoy expansive views of Rotherham and Sheffield. Boston Park covers just over eight hectares and is situated at the end of Boston Castle Grove. At the side of the park is Canklow Woods, an ancient woodland area. Boston Park was Rotherham’s first public park, and was opened on the 4 July 1876 to mark the centenary of the American Independence.

On my first visit to Wath upon Dearne Leisure Centre with my granddaughter, we decided to try out the lane swimming. The initial impression upon entering was positive, with the reception staff being very efficient and helpful. However, when it was time to leave, we were greeted with a chaotic scene in the car park. It seemed like school had just finished and there was a rush of parents picking up their children, resulting in a crowded and disorganized parking area.
Lovely local swimming pool. We went mid week, and it wasn't too busy. Brilliant staff, who even lent me a locker coin as I'd not brought a £1 with me. It's really clean. We will be going back again. The only thing to mention is that it's a duel set up for changing rooms, so men and women are not separate. There are cubicles, my friend and I were perfectly fine. I don't mind personally, but others might.
Jessica K — Google review
To attend Wath leisure centre you can either have one of a number of different memberships or pay as you go. They have a large number of exercise classes, a gym & two pools (main & small/teaching). The main pool has general swims and lane swimming sessions. Lane swimming starts early at 6.15am which is great for anyone wanting to get a swim in before work. The changing & shower facilities are mixed but there are group male/female rooms if needed. There are separate male/female toilets. There is a gallery where you can sit and watch the teaching pool & there are vending machines and the option to buy hot drinks from reception. They always have a good selection of swim wear & accessories on sale too. Staff are friendly, the pool always has a lifeguard on each pool and whenever I've been for general swims there is the radio on. The lifeguard pays attention and pulls up any untoward behaviour in the pool. There are lockers which accept a pound coin or same sized token with keys that strap like a watch strap for safety. They have mixed size where you can get at least 3 people's worth of stuff in the large locker and a smaller version. There are also mixed size changing cubicles with changing facilities at the back of the changing room. In the showers there is a disabled seat and shower section and there is a wheelchair accessible entrance in the foyer. I haven't noticed what other disabled access facilities they have. The changing rooms have two hair dryers plus blow dryers that can be redirected to face/hair too.
Cathy H — Google review
I went here with my friends and family and I had the worst time of my life. I was told off for doing safe things that was no issue at all I jumped on the pool like the rules said and I got a warning Also the one with the beard kept looking at my friend suggestively and kept looking away when spotted
Toby — Google review
Very busy, took kids to have swimming lessons here, there's simply not enough seats and room, there's parents that just sit in the changing room throughout the kids lessons and blocking other people, after the lesson, kids are literally queuing to take a shower while shivering, the staff should probably move parents away from changing room, and not let them just sit there. Also it's disgusting that people just leave items in the changing rooms and "claim" it so other people can't use it while they are waiting for their kids to finish swimming and shower
Lawrence H — Google review
Great little centre. I only use the gym Which is very clean and has sufficient equipment It is a little small but I go early so perfect for me Nice staff Good showers Nice pool Would get 5start but opens at 6.30 which makes getting to work a push Plus gym small But they do everything very well
Mark W — Google review
Membership options are great and recommended if you plan to use regularly. The gym is not often full and there are gym classes to book on the app. The pool is clean and well maintained. My only issue is that the water is normally quite cold.

My daughter was already having swimming lessons at the metrodome in Barnsley however I live at Mexborough so I thought I would move her to Wath as it was closer for me. Anyway she had completed stage 5 at metrodome so she had just moved up to stage 6 and thought this was the ideal time to do the switch. She had her first lesson at Wath and the swim teacher seemed to be loud mouthed and came across as a drill Sargent not a swimming instructor for a 9 year old child. Anyway on the day she had my daughter swim up and down doing lengths and then a 50 metre swim up and down non stop which she did without any issues. I was actually quite proud of her and at the end of the lesson I decided to have a quick word with the teacher and she said well in my opinion her breathing was not right and she would struggle in stage 6 and wanted to put her back to the beginning of stage 5 which she had already done and had the cerficate to prove this. This was all said in front of my daughter and upset her. I cancelled the lessons and moved her to dearne valley which is in denaby and guess what she is now at 42% through stage 6. So my gut instinct was right you lot at Wath are money grabbers and should be ashamed of yourselves! Also when I arrived with my daughter at Wath another little boy came out of the lesson crying I really would not recommend Wath swimming lessons at all.

Just came with some of my friends and got kicked out with in 20 mins for not buying a drink. The women behind the counter not going into detail (the slightly more visible human) ordered us to buy an extremely overpriced drink and kicked us out for not buying one even though one of us bought one but she insisted us all to have buy one as it’s apparently a “business”. A bismal.

Love coming here to play pool and snooker, staff are very accommodating and helpful! They will put sports on the tv if nothing is happening. The manager Karen, and bar member Joanne are incredibly lovely people and very helpful! The drinks aren’t overly expensive and it doesn’t attract the ‘riff raff’ so is a pleasant atmosphere to drink and play games. I personally will be coming here regularly to play pool and have drinks.

Wasn't too bad to be honest easy to get to by bus, bit expensive by the hour especially if 1 game lasts more than an hour, just reminds me of the old days playing snooker at a working men's club or the back of a cricket field to make use of space, would of liked to have seen areas of improvement such as possibly a snooker club for beginners upwards with amount of tables it's very do-able. Not like the old days and seems like a dying sport 😕

Having a baby is such an overwhelming experience but bright stars is so welcoming, never rushed after a class, even better you can stay for a coffee. Brilliant to meet other parents. The classes are brilliant, we've done welcome to the world, which is a great taster of all the sessions with tips of what to do with your baby at home. I've also met friends in the play space, yummy cake and a warm drink, whilst the babies can play and are safe. We can't wait to start aquatic Nurture and baby sensory in the new year. Thank you for making the first weeks enjoyable and a lot easier.

Bright Stars was my first place I attended with my little girl when she was 4 weeks old and it was everything I could have ever asked for and more. As a first time mum I was petrified to go to classes on my own as I had never done anything like this before however Bright Stars and Caroline made everything so much easier and perfect. I really lacked confidence and being in a class with Caroline, made me feel relaxed and calm. She is ace with my little one, everyone is so approachable, loving and caring. You can tell this is not just a business it is a family and a home. This comes across in every class they do, every interacting I have ever had with them all. I walked in petrified and I now have friends in Caroline and lots of other mums and babies I've met along the way. We cant get enough and keep going back for different classes so we get to experience everything. I can't thank Caroline and Bright Stars enough for everything they have done for me, my little one and filled my maternity leave with wonderful experiences and memories. Hayley x

As a first time mum, this place has been a godsend. I've met so many amazing mums, some like me and others being seasoned mums that are just full of helpful advice. Everyone is so friendly and whether it's Molly, Caroline or a fellow mum, I know that I can rely on Bright Stars to be full of positivity, encouragement and support. It may have started out as us just going to baby massage, but now I'm going to really miss everyone when I return to work, but I know that I will return at every opportunity! Roll on Saturday classes!

We did the baby massage course at bright stars and it was brilliant. I ummed and ahhed about doing baby massage as friends had said their classes (with different providers) were poor. Bright stars was nothing like their experiences and we really enjoyed it. We've just started baby sensory and will probably have a go at baby yoga after that. Caroline is really lovely, knows what she's doing and we even got little sheets each lesson of the massage we'd done that day so we could practice at home and really continue with what we'd got from the class.

The best place to go for classes with little ones or for a relaxed coffee and cake with friends while the kids play. Everyone is welcome. Definitely a hidden gem!

Lovely little play space for babies and toddlers. Plenty of room for them to run around but small enough that you can sit down and be able to see them. They even have a small basket of nappy change time essentials in case you're caught short. Can't recommend it enough
