The Coselpalais is a beautiful baroque building in Dresden and it has a café on site that serves some of the most luxurious cake and pastry creations in all of Germany. The food here is extravagant and you can't help but wished to try everything on offer. The cake creations are some of the most beautiful things you will ever see, whether it be chocolate buttercream tart with currant jam or apple cake with streusel.
Amazing experience! The dessert was absolutely divine—perfectly balanced flavors, rich texture, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delightful. I could taste the love and care that went into making it. If you're a dessert lover, this is an absolute must-try! I'll definitely be coming back for more! The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

Authentic travel, like the days of old. I felt as if I had entered a place for high-class people. Everyone—the customers, the waiters, and the staff—spoke in one language: quiet and pleasant. The food was incredibly tasty, with flavors that seemed to explode in my mouth. The atmosphere was amazing, magnificent, and unforgettable. This place stayed with me for a long time
Lina A — Google review
Had a pleasant experience at this German restaurant. The veal schnitzel was excellent—crispy, tender, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment. Service was average—not bad, just nothing particularly memorable.
Doubler B — Google review
We were there twice. Once on the terrace in warm, sunny weather. Beautiful outdoor area with a fantastic view of the Frauenkirche. Menu with an exceptionally interesting and varied selection of dishes and drinks. Very friendly and courteous waiters. The second time we sat inside. Beautiful nostalgic interiors with a palatial atmosphere. Again, excellent food, friendly and professional waiters.

This was a favourite amongst our group of travelers from all over the United States. New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, West Virginia, we all loved the food, the fine service and lovely atmosphere. Would return if we ever find ourselves in Dresden again.

Came for the Eierschecke, stayed for the vibe. Really love the smooth and tender taste of it, the sugar on top a bit unnecessary but else i enjoyed it!
Thomas P — Google review
Amazing spot and staff. Ambiance is everything and food was good (had the seasonal pumpkin soup). Shout out to Nadine and Laura who made sure I was warm and having a great time!

I got scammed by servers who don't appreciate foreigners there.. the server asked me if I wanted pay cash or card and didn't even let me decide..she said "cash" directly..then I gave a note of ten and she didn't give me the money back..she kept everything as tips. I m pretty sure they have the change it s a famous place in Dresden..also when I asked for the toilets the man had a bad/nasty face while answering me. I m pretty sure they have the hate for foreign people in this place.. by the way I m white and blond but even that is not enough to them

Dresdner Kaffeestübchen is a small island in the midst of the tourist crowds in Dresden’s Old Town. Here, you can enjoy an original piece of Dresdner Eierschecke cake and a good cup of coffee. The “Dresdner Menu” for 5.
My husband and I loved this place. Ralf is very hospitable and is serving quality coffee and breakfast. The cake is amazing as well. Very friendly atmosphere to all cultures! Highly recommend if you're visiting Dresden. Thanks so much Ralf!!! Wish your cute little cafe all the best!

We were recommended this place by our friend from Dresden and thought this was one of the best Eierschecke we had before! The cake was so fluffy and so tasty! quite different to what we have been eating… The shop is not so big and if all the tables are full, new customers need to wait until other customers leave and the door opens for the next customers.
Don P — Google review
Small, cozy, and familiar Café not far from the frauenkirche. The house is 13 years old whereas the Café is 12 years old. The owner served by himself. Selling the grandma's Eierscheke, variety of coffee, ice cream (available from may to October), dekorations, and saxony cheese. There are 4 round tables inside and 2 outside. So, I was indeed lucky to get one inside. The room was decorated with a wall of currencies and signatures. It was comfortable to sit inside as the sun outside was strong. I recommend this place to get a quick runaway from the crowd and just enjoy the lovely Eierscheke.

I have been to this place twice, and for me, it’s an absolute must-visit if you are in Dresden or live here. It’s small – only about five tables inside – but that’s more than enough. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and instantly makes you feel at ease. The interior has a charming rustic style with beautiful decorations that truly give off a Dresden vibe. The owner is an incredibly friendly man with a great sense of humor. He radiates warmth and kindness, and it’s easy to have a pleasant conversation with him – simply amazing, 10/10! And now to the second best part – the cake. The Eierschecke is wonderfully fluffy, perfectly balanced in taste, and absolutely delightful. Every bite shows that this is a place made with love. Keep up the great work, and hopefully, bis b

The tiniest of cafes tucked behind the old city center. Delicious cake and coffees in a quaint shop run by a single owner. Enjoyed our time!!

We had breakfast there on Sunday morning before going to the Lipsiusbau exhibition. We booked a place for five people a few days in advance by email (recomended). The place is very small, the breakfast is simple, homely and very good. Nice service, good coffee, delicious eggs and, of course, Dresdner Eierschecke. You can only pay in cash on the spot. We had have three big breakfasts, one small a and three Eierschecke cakes for our group (three adults, two kids).

This place has the best cheesecake 🍰 and coffee ☕️! If you want a break from exploring the old town of Dresden this cafe is the perfect place to go. It closes in the afternoon🔅 on weekends so try to be there before noon. The price for two small coffee and a berry cheesecake was € 7.
Taruna V — Google review
We were glad that we found this hidden gem during our last day in Dresden. The lady staff who attended us during our visit was very polite & friendly. She even offered to help us to take photos. The foods were delicious and presentable. Make sure to make your reservation to avoid disappointment. We were lucky that we got seating but the others were not. The place was tiny and they have only one staff so it's understandable. The price was very reasonable. We had a great moment here. Ps. Visited at the end of May 2022 (recalled when browsing my photos album)

Located in the heart of Dresden's Old Town, LadenCafe aha is more than just a cafe - it's a sustainable and eco-friendly concept that combines a cafe, restaurant, and world shop. The split-level cafe offers a wide range of classic and exotic coffee specialties, including those infused with Indian spices. Whether you're an omnivore or vegan, there's something for everyone here.
There are a lot of vegetarian options in this cafe. We ordered a lentil soup and a spinach lasagna and they were really tasty! I thought only soup wouldn’t be enough so I added sausages to the lentil soup but it was not necessary at all. The soup was very filling without sausages and the portion was quite big so we were so full after the meal. The staff here was also friendly and we enjoyed our experience here.

Location in front of the church. Was choir here, then the musicians. The food is great. Took spinach-something, my friend took big salad. Rotbier was good, too. Beautiful waitress. The only advice is to improve ventilation, was a bit hot there.

Cosy laid back vibe, delicious food and also important friendly welcoming staff whether you are just visiting the city or not. I was looking for clean, not so heavy food and found this wonderful place about 5-8 mins walk from the Zwinger Palace . It’s away from the main touristic crowds and you can just sit and enjoy the outdoor or indoor atmosphere ! It’s vegetarian / Vegan mainly but does have a good breakfast of cheese and cold cuts too for those that fancy this . Cute store in the basement with good alternative gifts and some sustainably and regionally sourced foods . Love their shashuka and tried their Guarana coffee alternative . Their iced tea variations are good too. A homey neighbourhood vibe. Definately be back

Food was very tasty. I took vegan baked feta. Focaccia was of enormous size. The portion was substantial. The menu has a list of allergens of all types, v.helpful.
Alina S — Google review
Fair, fresh, friendly We went to the aha café because of their vegan options. We tried the large vegan breakfast and the home made granola with oat drink. Both was very good although we're not very fond of cheese 'imitations'. The fresh apple carrot juice was amazing and so was the cocoa with oat drink and spices... The staff was very friendly and attentive and I liked the way they designed their menu cards - all unique and with some information e.g. on the employed cocoa and coffee... I guess, it's not suitable for large groups and wheelchair-drivers might only acces the ground floor.
Sarah J — Google review
We discovered this amazing and cozy restaurant in Dresden. The food and the service were so good. The soup was delicious, filling and adapted tp everyone's tastes (tofu or sausage). Very good. Thanks for the meal !
Emma T — Google review
Lots of vegan options for breakfast and lunch. I got the lupini gyro which was deconstructed and the three dip focaccia. They have an English menu.
Christina — Google review
They have an english menu that explains how to speak some german which I liked as well. The food was excellent and the waitress was very nice. If youre an American you should tip 20% here. They are used to 10% but if they give good service in Europe you have to respect it bc its not like restaurant industry in the states! Very impressed with this cafe/restaurant as an American tourist in Dresden!

Bäckerei Dreißig offers a delightful array of freshly baked goods made with high-quality ingredients and prepared daily. From crispy bread to flaky pastries filled with sweet or savory flavors, there's something for every palate. It's a great spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch, offering delicious baguettes, cakes, and pastries at reasonable prices. The bakery is conveniently located near the Kreuzkirche in Dresden and provides friendly service with English explanations available.
Great, affordable sandwiches (5-6 Euros) for dine-in or to go! Very friendly staff. A great stop before the bus or train station.
Gary H — Google review
The breakfast sandwiches were average and the coffee was bad. There was too much foam in the latte and barely any coffee. Service was friendly and they speak English perfectly. It's open early so that's helpful for people who get up early. Too many coffee places nowadays open way too late at 10 or 11am.
Noelia L — Google review
I’ve been in Dresden last week and had breakfast at DreiBig twice… they have a salami sandwich in a triangle shape that was the best bread I ever had!! Soft inside and crispy outside, delicious!! My husband had another sandwich that was also very good The place is small but there is a lot of sits outside to enjoy the view
Andreia C — Google review
Came here for lunch. They have lots of nice baguettes and cakes at relatively reasonable prices. They also tasted nice! There were quite a few empty seats even though it was around noon. It is located right next to Kreuzkirche in Dresden.
Don P — Google review
i suggest to avoid this abomination at all costs. it’s way smaller then in the pictures and there’s way less variety. at the request of an english menu they laughed at me. i asked to the girl at the counter if one specific item contained cheese and she laughingly said no. when i started eating i found out there was, in fact, cheese; which i cannot eat. the food is cold and not heated up. nothing that we ordered was good. heavily suggest not stepping foot here. it’s bad as it is, but for tourists it’s straight up a trap.
Bruna F — Google review
Good choice for breakfast in town. It was tasty and hearty, not overpriced and the location is also very nice. We tried Rüherei mit Schinken and a Käsefrüstuck and were completely satisfied with that choice
Andrei A — Google review
Nice bakery with decent cakes and pastries, right at the steps of the gorgeous Holy Cross Church. Nice poppy seeds cake. Extra thanks to the guys at the counter for taking the time to explain things in English, thumbs up.

Kuchen Atelier in Dresden is a must-visit for cake enthusiasts. The retro-style café offers a menu filled with innovative creations, classic German tray-baked cakes, and regional specialties like the city's favorite Eierschenke. Chef-Patissier Dirk Gunther's spectacular pastry creations truly justify the name 'Atelier.' The café provides a creative and informal atmosphere to enjoy these delightful treats before heading out to explore nearby attractions.
Nice vibes, friendly staff, perfect cake and drinks! One of my favorite cafes in Dresden so far

A stroll past the window of this cafe's displays of cake art ought to be enough to stop you in your tracks. We're so glad we paused here to enjoy cakes and drinks, fast service, super friendly staff, a great variety of hot and cold drinks to choose from, and cakes obviously expertly made fresh with perfection a clear goal for every slice served. We'll stop here again.

Wonderful cakes and great service! We were looking specifically for dessert cakes and loved the black forest cake and the raspberry meringue one. Good coffee, pleasant staff and pleasant vibe overall ❤️

Absolutely exquisite cakes, interior design and service. I had raspberry tart and it was so fresh and delicious, not overly sweet but full of complex flavours in beautifully constructed layers. My friend had a chocolate cake and it was debce, rich and unbelievably succulent. I highly recommend the place!

All of the cakes looked amazing. We wanted to try the Eierschecke as we are in Dresden after all . It was delicious. We got takeaway but would have liked to have eaten in the cafe as it was very nice inside.
Alister S — Google review
We traveled from far to visit Dresden and unfortunately it was raining, so we Googled nice place to have some coffee and dessert. The staff (old blond lady) was so Arrogant to us. Even though we saw at least 2 tables without reservation, she told us there were no tables for us. Neither did she show any effort to figure something out, nor did she tell us to just wait few minutes. She indirectly indicated us to be gone. After all, this place isn't nice at all.

Step into the past at T1 Bistro & Café - Die Pförtnerloge, a charming café and bistro housed in a restored 1930s gatehouse. Nestled within Dresden's Kulturkraftwerk Mitte complex, this vintage-inspired spot offers a cozy atmosphere with warm lighting and retro details. Indulge in coffee, newspapers, soups, quiche, and delectable cakes during the day or savor Mediterranean finger food in the evening.
Adorable little cafe, limited but yummy lunch offering. Staff seems like it can get overwhelmed, but they stay friendly. Nice option in this part of the city.

Coffee was good. I didn’t enjoy the cake a lot. I think it was too dry. However, the ambiance was great! It felt like a small Italian cafe in the middle of Dresden with all the antique furniture & plants around. I really enjoyed the space! I’m giving it a 4 for the ambiance!

My 2023-2024 years as a permanent visitor: This is a pure love from the first glance! So cuit and cozy...loving spending here evenings and mornings. In year 2025 evrth has changed in a very sad way, the coffee is not hot enough, very often - without of foam (creme) on capucino or milkcoffee, the service is quite indifferent and even sometimes rude (not every person, but it is about young staff). It is so pity, the cafe had a great potential and a very nice atmosphere, inside and outside.

I've been visiting this place for very long time now. It's very sad and unfortunate that such cute and cozy place has such horrible staff. Completely ignorant and rude, never felt more disrespected in a café. I miss polite service and matcha latte from 2 years ago. It's not same place anymore. Hot chocolate just a mediocre cocoa, just sad.
Wiktoria — Google review
Really nice and calm terrace with a cool ambient with lots of plants and old nice furniture. The coffee is good. The cake was fine but not great. And unfortunately, the last time we visited the soft ice-cream machine was broken... Additionally, maybe it was just peak time, but they seem to be slightly short in staff. Just one person for taking care of inside and outside queues does not seem to be enough. The waitress was quite overwhelmed.

Louisengarten is a charming spot located in the Outer Neustadt district, adjacent to the Scheune live music venue. It offers an ideal setting to observe the lively street scene from a tranquil vantage point. The nearby Fleischerei Creutz provides top-quality meat for barbecues, making it the perfect place to soak in the district's atmosphere. This organic and locally-sourced cafe is known for its warm ambiance and serves German summer specialty, Spaghetti-Eis.
Great place to have a drink o get warm. Some times it gets crowd. And you should leave a 5 euro deposit for your glass.
Karloz G — Google review
The beer is pretty expensive and pretty sh*t. They pour the beer the wrong way (amateurs) and they wash their glasses the wrong way. The staff is not nice (but they will request a tip), at least the garden is okay. (I'm Czech, so I know a lot about how to pour and drink beer)
Anna S — Google review
Nice beer garden to visit after exploring Dresden Neustadt. I got a feeling that most people here are locals, including dogs , with some occasional tourists. Food is being grilled right there, so it's fresh and simple. The grill master can get overwhelmed with a lot of orders at times, just give him some time and come back. The beer was good. The whole place is self service. They take a deposit for beer glasses and bottles, make sure you will get it back. I send my son to return them, and he was standing there waiting for the deposit, but they ignored him. Until I had to come. Not cool. Just something to keep in mind.

Café Sperling, located in the vibrant Aussere Neustadt of Dresden, offers a trendy and stylish setting with a Scandinavian-chic interior. The café is known for its tailored breakfast platters, daily specials, freshly made bagels, and an array of homemade cakes following traditional family recipes. For those seeking a healthy snack, options like banana muesli, yogurt with caramelized nuts, and fruit salad are recommended.
What a great find! We were looking for a typical German bakery and walked by. We all (4) found something we liked. The cheese and meat plates are large enough to share. The coffee was delicious, and the service was on point!

Barista was very friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere and sweet décor. Everyone found something they liked on the menu. The food presentation was amazing! Excellent experience all round.
Carlene O — Google review
We had stopped in Café Sperling for a quick cup of coffee and dessert off of an recommendation. The café has a very tasteful interior decoration with a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered some coffee and a few slices of cake. Soft and not too sweet, the cake was delicate and delicious. Although the owner didn't speak a lot of English, she was very friendly. As a great spot for coffee in Dresden, we will definitely return whenever we're in the area.

Small café in the heart of the Neustadt. If you don't pay attention, you might not even realize it is there. They have a big selection of cakes (incl. vegan ones) with quite interesting flavour combinations. So far I have not found a cake where I said "wow" but, in any case, they are nice.

Tiago S — Google review
A tiny cafe that exudes boundless charm. This beautifully furnished little cafe, on a quiet out-of-the-way street, has everything you want when looking for a warm drink on a cold day. We stopped here on the way back from the Museum, before Christmas. Months later, this little coffee shop still weighs on my mind, as a fond memory of the city. The homemade cakes were delicious, the coffee was fresh, and the service was impeccable. Though my German is not great, and my girlfriend's German is next to non-existent, we picked up on the rules of a Christmas Calender game the cafe was playing with customers each day. My girlfriend won on the first attempt. The owner was clearly just as excited as we were. The prize was a token, the real prize was the sense of festive spirit. If asked, I would recommend in a heartbeat.

This little cafe was lovely and so was the barista, who was sweet and quiet patient as we tried to relay our order given our lack of speaking German. The whole experience was warm and inviting. Wish we were hungrier for more than just coffee.

I just had an horrible small cappuccino take away (with my own cup) for €3.90. If you want to keep expensive prices you should at list hire a barista who knows how to make a coffee properly.

TanteLeuk, pronounced as "tantelook," is a cozy café located in the heart of Dresden Neustadt. The café has been a part of the local scene for many years and is known for its friendly atmosphere and delicious offerings. TanteLeuk is particularly popular for its variety of vegan homemade cakes, with three to five options available daily. The café exudes a relaxed vibe, with mismatched vintage crockery adding to its charm.
Cozy cute and hip little cafe with good cakes. Recommend for a little sit down in the hip neighborhood of Dresden. I got the seasonal pumpkin white chocolate and the walnut cake and enjoyed both, good amount of sweetness. The wraps were also very very good. Good atmosphere, kind service. Families and couples ans friend groups alike can all have a good time here

We get in 10:30 and the coffe shop is nearly empy . We have to wait 40 minutes to get three drinks! 60 minutes later we still have no food ! The place is cozy nur the service is disorganised. The food is vegan but this should not be tasteless! The salad and the vegetale on the break are not marinate or dressed. The nuts on the avocado bread are just dropoen on top. Vintage is fine but do you need to serve coffee in a brocken Cup? No, I dont recommend.

We had a perfect sun-kissed table in this lovely cafe. Good selection of vegan cakes. No charge for vegan milk. Their oat milk is noticeable though and might not be for everyone. Beautiful cafe you should not skip 😊

Indeed a nice small place to hang out and to enjoy the home made (all cakes are made in a 2 sqm kitchen on site !!!) cakes that vary every day and are all done with love. True compliment to the Konditorin who manages this all. They have a nice small balcony in the back with lots of sun , some tables in front on the street and a couple indoors.

We went for a Brunch on a working day (it was not crowded), but sadly we experienced a terrible service. Not only we waited for over an 1h to get our food (more than 30 minutes for a piece of cake and coffees), but they were also very unprofessional. I went with someone with strong allergies, which we specified. However, they did not make things easy for us. Firstly, the so called list of allergies that they are supposed to have (it's even written at the bottom of their menu) was inexistent. Then, neither of the 2 waitresses knew the full list of ingredients of their products. We asked for the composition of the spread in the avocado toast and they replied with "it's only avocado". Well, it was not and we had to ask for the spread jar to read ourselves the ingredients and make sure it was fine for the allergies. They did not even apologised about it, when it could have cause a big issue with a client's health. Regarding the food, the cheesecake was not really good. Texture and consistency is not amazing and it definitely doesn't taste like a cheese cake (tried many vegan ones that were way better and closer to the original one). I also had a bagel, which was supposed to come with some kind of vegan sausage. Sadly, it resulted in a too-hard bagel bread filled with some spread, lettuce, cucumber and half slice of vegan cheese. Truly a shame for the price and specially for the time waited for it. Only positive things were the nice place they have in the inner terrace, and the avocado toast, tasty and cheap. Deffinetly not the best place to visit in Dresden.

I ordered a slice of cake and was asked to be seated at a table. After waiting 20 minutes I was informed that my slice of cake was “gone” and “maybe given to other customers”.

Coffee is good but even better is their selection of cakes. So yummy! Lots of vegan options. Their selection of lemonades is amazing and we loved sitting outside on their little balcony in the sunshine. Such a lovely spot. I went there with the anticipation of getting a bagel and was a bit disappointed that they only offer savoury foods and bagels on weekends. I‘ll definitely be back for more and those bagels but it would be great to have a little more options during the week too.

Cozy place, you can meet with your friend or have a date, just like a next door coffee shop. I tried the chocolate torte, it’s tasty, not the best, but good. I would recommend their black coffee, it’s better than average. Staff is friendly. Only negative thing to say, the place is bit smaller, so it’ll be noisy when it’s house full.

Fräulein Lecker Dresden is a charming café in Neustadt that offers a delectable selection of muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes. What sets this place apart is its commitment to using healthy ingredients such as spelt flour and cane sugar instead of traditional wheat flour and refined sugar. Vegans will also find delightful options on the menu. The café's friendly service and convenient location make it a must-visit spot for anyone craving delicious treats in Dresden.
(Translated by Google) A very nice little cafe in the Neustadt. The service is very nice and the cupcakes (but also all the other things I've tried so far) are delicious. The cafe is also very easy to reach by tram. :)
