Night club
Katy's Garage in Dresden is a unique motor-themed bar located in a former Neustadt tyre garage. The owner, Richard Hudson, was inspired to open the bar after traveling through Africa in his Land Rover named "Katy." The interior features old car doors, bus seats around engine and tyre tables, and even a Mini Cooper on the rooftop. The bar offers a wide selection of liquor from around the world and has a smoke lounge on the second floor.
A really cool place to drink beer. There is food, but it’s currywurst. So just don’t expect some culinary magic, it’s there to make sure you survive and can drink even more beer. But hey, that’s why you are here!
Tamás Z — Google review
Great vibe. Quiet when not busy. Especially nice when it's sunny.
Ben V — Google review
Cool, quirky laid back place to hang out and meet friends on a sunny afternoon. Had the pretzels with butter (Brezel) as a snack with a beer. Very fresh tasting.
Ann M — Google review
Very cool location in the youngest district of Dresden. I've been there twice, we drank beer (bottled) for two 0,05L-€10 glasses of beer. A mediocre place, but sometimes you can go in.
Monica M — Google review
The place is nice , it is not so crowded Saturday afternoon if you want to chill it will be a good time to go with family or after a week of work , there is innovation I like the style it is 100% urban. Well by night the atmosphere is completely different if you love urban culture, if you want smoke some spiritual stuff while having your beer in hands it will be a good choice for you.
Nassereddine B — Google review
Nice bar with large cosy garden people drinking beer in groups. A DJ arrived around 19hrs and played softly.
Jesper L — Google review
The music is different every weekend I thinks is one of my favorite places in Dresden, the environment is different outside and inside, good to meet people or tourists even Dresden people is not very open to talk
Jose B — Google review
Nice little beer garden is a great place to stop and relax in a quieter environment. They have a bar and a restaurant in the yard, so you can get food or drinks.

lovely place with lovely people, that takes you back to the 70s or 80s. the design of the bar and interior is superb, rich cultural program almost every day, loads of alternative long-hair smiling hippies (I am one as well hehe). definitely pay this place a visit, it is worth it!

(Translated by Google) A very nice little club in the vaulted cellar in Dresden Neustadt with a variety of music offerings. Very nice, because there's a lot of dancing going on (so no audience with cell phones in their hands:) (but there's no reception down there either - that's a good thing) and girls! In the toilets there is a mirror in the toilet cubicle and hygiene product dispensers at the sink 😊. For all non-smokers - it's a club where you can smoke!

Conclusion We weren't allowed in because we're supposedly not feminists. Where's the equality if you're just in the mood for good music? Lg

(Translated by Google) The bouncer is, unfortunately, truly awful. I've noticed him several times in a very negative way. We once went there as a group, and he didn't want to let us in because a friend of ours was apparently too drunk. She hadn't had anything to drink that evening. Sometimes he arbitrarily refuses to let us in and simply acts strangely when asked questions. Normal conversation is impossible, even though you're polite and want to get to the bottom of the matter. Don't come at me with bee talk or any other nonsense. I'm from Dresden, and many of my friends have had questionable experiences with this guy. Unfortunately, it's not an isolated incident. It's not good for the place, but oh well... (Original) Der Türsteher ist leider wirklich grausam.. Mehrere Male sehr negativ aufgefallen. Leider kein Einzelfall. Tut dem Laden nicht gut, aber naja..

(Translated by Google) WARNING, REALLY STRANGE PLACE!!! We were there late at night. After about 5 minutes, one of our group was approached by a young, attractive woman who had been pointing at us and looking us over with a guy (presumably her accomplice) the whole time. The woman asked if he could talk to her. He refused, because it immediately seemed suspicious to him. Then she said that she had to talk to him because he had supposedly stolen her phone. At that point, we decided to leave and threatened to call the police. When we got to the exit, her accomplice was standing there talking to the bouncers. We left the place as quickly as possible and, in hindsight, we're glad we weren't too drunk!!! (Original) VORSICHT, GANZ KOMISCHER LADEN!!!

Altes Wettbüro, also known as Wetti, has a rich history and is now a popular spot in Dresden. The venue has transformed from an artist's casino to a DDR publishing house and is now a top destination for great dining experiences. Its laid-back atmosphere and vintage furniture create a hip setting, especially in the colorful garden terrace where guests can enjoy Mediterranean and Far Eastern dishes along with creative cocktails.
Lovely restaurant with friendly staff, a beautiful patio setting, and delicious food. The menu food menu is short compared to the beverages, but our salads and pasta were delicious, as was the German beer (of course...). English was no problem.
Greg K — Google review
Today I dined in at a restaurant and had the Grillwurst-Ragout von Händlers-Duroc aus Großdobritz. It was a surprisingly delightful dish! The ragout was stocked with flavor, offering a delightful balance of savory and slightly sharpy notes. The portion was quite generous, perfect for a hearty appetite. For dessert, I opted for the panna cotta with strawberry. The panna cotta itself was smooth and delicious, but the chocolate chips were a bit of a distraction. The sweetness of the chocolate overpowered the delicate flavor of the panna cotta and the strawberries. I would recommend enjoying this dessert without the chocolate chips to truly appreciate the fresh flavors.

This place is perfect. I wish I’ve discovered it earlier. They have a weekly menu that consists of interesting and delicious dishes. The place is quite large, the garden is really beautiful and the atmosphere is super nice, you can relax or have a nice time with friends. They have nice homemade drinks as well. Service is fast and the staff is really nice. I was very impressed with my dish and truly enjoyed it. I will go there every chance I get.

Cool beer garden around back with multiple seating areas. Here too early for dinner, so just had a craft beer. Owner(s?) there and engaging, good service.
Tammy O — Google review
Excellent seating and atmosphere in the inner courtyard. The menu isn't too varied but we were all blown away by the tasty dishes (fish curry, lamb steak with polenta, goulash and a salad). The waiters were friendly and only checked in to make sure everything is to our liking.
Marius M — Google review
It's a quite awesome Biergarten and resturant. I understand the vibe with plants and more to environment then again I would suggest do pest control. I don't want my bier get visited by Random flies , and bugs. Had a good time though. Food is creative and a bit expensive
Sankynymous ( — Google review
Very tasty food (the meat dishes are a bit pricey 28,9€+) for unpretentious decor. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly and energetic staff. Salmon was great (crispy skin and tender texture). Lamb was delicious, could a bit less salty so the fresh meaty taste can come through more. Sides are good but could be more refined (eg potatoes). IG: @acello

Alternative bar with nice music but not loud. Ideal to have a few drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. Different rooms have various charming changes. There are parts of the bar that you can smoke! It's allowed to smoke in certain bars of the area. By the way, funniest area in town with restaurants, fast food, bars, pubs and clubs. A must see in Dresden!

Can't complain. Great sound, good shows, too many drinks, blurred vision, then I woke up at home.

Music is not good not good flow of remix, small space, they put way too much smoke on the dance floor that after I went there Im all sticky and itchy and had an allergy. Mostly for older people there 30+. Good things theres other things u can do there like billiard
Scarlett L — Google review
Nice club. You can pay there with card. When you buy a Beer or something that is in glass, they give you this guitar pick(a Pfand) with the club's logo on it, so you return tha glass. The Pick costs 1€. Of course I kept the pick, because I liked it.
Nino N — Google review
Nice venue for kicker, table tennis and billiards. Reasonable prices for drinks.

Even though I like playing pool there, I prefer to go somewhere else because I never had a good cocktail there! Hence, the photo! Our gin tonic was more of a tonic and when we asked her the second time, of course there was no change! If you are there, just grab a beer.
Shirin F — Google review
Amazing atmosphere with live music, dance floor and killer kicker tables and snooker. Has a lot of space and nice people.
Aritra M — Google review
Funky place, great music, 5€ entry. Moderately priced drinks. You can also find pool tables and foosball tables (0.50€ per game of foosball) we were there on a weekend and the music was played until 4am It was a great experience. You will not be disappointed
Vedraj R — Google review
Friendly place, set off from the street a little, beautiful colorful exterior and clean, fun, friendly inside. Bartender was very cool, great attitude, gave me good vacation ideas as I am just passing through Dresden. Several nice pool tables, foos-ball, ping pong room, nice customers, everyone was very friendly even though I was a tourist who didn't speak German! They have live music on most nights, but not the night I was there. That worked out good for me as I wanted to shoot pool and relax / have a beer. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you like a fun, friendly, safe little pub in the middle of the city! Look for the sign from the street or you may never find the place. It's definitely worth it though! Thanks again for the cool night at your bar! Rich

Rosis Amüsierlokal is a happening nightspot with a cozy retro atmosphere, offering burgers, billiards, and music. It's the perfect spot for fans of RocknRoll, Indie, Alternative, Rockabilly or Psychobilly. On Mondays, students can enjoy free entry and discounts while listening to the best songs of these music styles played by a DJ. Throughout the week and weekends, live concerts are held with an entry fee of up to 7.
Had a really good time rockin' this place with my band and hangin' out afterwards. Lookin' forward to have some beers there again soon
Bernhard S — Google review
There is no Rosis anymore.. this is what we experienced after searching for it. Or at least it changed its name in Helmut. The place is nice, weirdly looking like a chinese reastaursnt, but serving burger. No music. Nice people working there. Regular clientele. Drink was ok, we had no food
Martina A — Google review
ABOUT THE CLUB ONLY: Lots of creeps on the dance floor, one guy offered me suspiciously looking 'Gummy bears'. There is no cloakroom /place to leave your things safely and you constantly have to have them with you or not have anything at all. It seems like they dont control who comes and goes at all. A lot of foreigners hoping to find God knows what in a small niche club-they are clingy, wanna-be-polite and not understanding a sentence like 'no i don't want to dance with you'. The DJ was good and the sound in the club is nice so that's what the 2 stars are for. The overall ambiente as of midnight on a Saturday, not good. The Pool tables and the bar are way better than the club, mostly because there is no one checking on the creeps to keep them in line or put of the club.
Adrianna D — Google review
It's fine for a few beers during the week as a student, actually one of best ones, but still then there only will be students. Prices are good and music is fun.
Rihards L — Google review
Its alright, decent music. Also of stray people. There are better places to go if you want to dance. The crowd is usually full of uninteresting people.
Nayan A — Google review
Really bad music for dancing and unfriendly DJs. Last time I was there (a Thursday) they were playing metal and there were only 2 people on the dance floor. Would not go again.

Objekt klein a is a vibrant hub that emerged from the collaboration of the Floppy event team and members from two former off-locations. Established in 2017, this expansive venue boasts an impressive outdoor area that truly shines during summer months, offering festival-like vibes amidst lush greenery. Renowned for its exceptional sound system and inviting atmosphere, objekt klein a has quickly become a favorite among techno enthusiasts.
Went here at 2am after being very disappointed by the trashy vibe at Sektor. Very cool crowd, nice heavy techno, and great space. Was still packed and thumping when we left at 5am. Superior experience here for sure.

I like it. Brand new club that its been more than a year that they managed to do the permit stuff and crawl up from underground. Sound systems are at the perfection level. Spanish restaurant

Tapas bar
Vegetarian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Dresden on Munzgasse, Las Tapas is a charming spot that captures the essence of Spanish dining. This cozy tavern-style eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere with its stone floors and warm Mediterranean hues, making it a perfect retreat for both locals and tourists alike. The menu features an impressive array of classic Spanish tapas and Basque-inspired bar snacks, including marinated mushrooms, Serrano hams, and prawns wrapped in bacon—each dish beautifully displayed behind glass.
Stopped in for more of a snack before dinner. Four of us shared the tapas platter and two additional tapas. It was the perfect amount of food for us. We ate everything, and found all of it delicious. The cocktails were also very good. It was a great location, not far from some tourist attractions, but not at all overpriced considering its location.

I don’t know why I was expecting Spanish tapas food in germany to be just as good 😭 Difficult because I was recently in Spain so am directly comparing it to the tapas I had there I really wanted paella but that was the one dish was a 40-45minute wait, and I didn’t have time for that, and it was over 25 euro which I was surprised about. I ended up getting some little tapas food and it was very oily, and overpriced. Perhaps some of the food options are good but I wasn’t happy with the first two starters so I didn’t keep going. Wasn’t too comfortable or vibey inside
Taylah S — Google review
The Spanish Tapas has never fail to impress us. The reservation via Google was a breeze, the confirmation gave us assurance that we would have an indoor on a Saturday evening peak hours. Service was fast and staff were polite & attentive. I really love the ambience, cozy and filled with Spanish ambience though it was in Deutschland. We ordered the Fried Octopus, Fried Calamari & Seafood Paella for two pax sharing. I gave the Fried Octopus in Olive oil a 5 star rating, soft & tastily presented on the potatoes slice. Love it ! While for the Tapas fried calamari, somehow the batter that supposedly coating the squid ring did not work out as expected… luckily the garlic tartare dip save the day. The highlight was the Seafood Paella…presentation, fragrance & taste score with flying color. Overall satisfied with Las Tapas & will come again!
William L — Google review
The menu is well-structured, offering a variety of options including meat, fish, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. The salmon I ordered was exquisite. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. I'm impressed. I will definitely return and recommend it.
Viktoriia K — Google review
Fantastic tapas option within the heart of the Aldstadt in Dresden. They give you a decent sized tapas board with plenty of fixings. From the olives, dates wrapped in bacon, bread, and sauces, all of it was fantastic. I also got the starter size of beef cheeks. They weren't exactly what I was expecting texture wise, but even with it's short rib like consistency, it was pretty good! The service here is top notch. Our waiter was hilarious in his mannerisms and dialogue. He made the experience that much better.
Gill S — Google review
A conveniently located place that offers an amazing gastronomical experience. The place was mostly reserved but the staff were gracious enough to offer us a table when we walked in. Would recommend to reserve in advance to avoid waiting for a table. The food was flavourful & hit good spice notes. The dip served with Nachos deserves a special mention.

After being seated, I waited for more than five minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff. I understand it can get busy, but even a quick glance or a gesture would have been appreciated to show that someone would be with me shortly. Eventually, I said “Excuse me” to get attention, and that’s when a waiter(who has blonde hair and beards), instead of responding courteously, ignored me. He went inside, and returned a moment later with menus. What shocked me was his attitude. He handed me the menu with a visibly irritated facial expression and said, “Don’t scream. I can see you came in.” I found this completely impolite and inappropriate, especially for someone working in restaurants. Although I understand he may have been stressed, expressing frustration so openly to a guest is unprofessional.

Stayed in late November. Reception is on the 6th floor and was quite and easy to pick up room key as we were a large party of 10 .room was on the 4th floor at the end of a long corridor. Room was nice and warm with good facilities. With no air-conditioning I would think it very warm in summer .but plenty of windows for ventilation. Only noticed a leaving that breakfast was available it was a shame as we went out every morning for breakfast

Offers an absolutely amazing view over the city! A perfect spot to enjoy a drink while taking in the beautiful skyline. Great atmosphere and definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.

Nice rooftop view towards the Zwinger with a beach-like vibe with all the decoration and sand. Cocktails are good though slightly overpriced... But of course one has to pay for the views also. The food menu, though small, proposes very interesting combinations. The salmon sandwich that I had was super tasty and fresh.
M K — Google review
True: the view is nice. But the tables were all sticky. No service at the table. The stools aren't very comfortable. Smoking is allowed. If you pay by cart you need to go inside. Drinks are owkey. The place was infested by wasps. The barman tried to keep them at the bar by feeding them syrup In ashtrays When the new shift started they didn't appreciate the wasps near the bar so took their feeding away, causing the cloud of wasps to come near the tables of course. They tried to place burning coffee to chase them away but they shoud maybe see to have a strategy in place to handle wasps safely.

We went for dinner at the restaurant. It’s very nice and cozy restaurant but with very limited vegetarian options. Only one vegetarian main course was in the menu and as vegetarian people we had no other choice. The dessert Panna cotta is really good, full of flavours.

We booked a Suite XXL for a 3-night stay in Dresden! Location is perfect. It is right next to Zwinger. From breakfast room, restaurant or bar, there’s a view of Zwinger. We were 2 adults and 1 kid. The suite was extremely big. Our daughter stayed in the room with a bunkbed. The furnishings were tasteful and it was stocked with cutlery, plates, pots & pans. There’s also an app that can lock or unlock the room door. It is located next to many restaurants and a few steps from the mall.

Pub
Restaurant
Bautzner Tor is a unique pub located in the Neustadt area of Dresden, offering a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the DDR era. The interior features hardwood floors, tiffany lamps, old TVs, and eclectic decor that includes DDR-era placards and regional beer advertisements. Despite its unassuming facade, the pub surprises visitors with its quirky charm once inside.
On holiday in Dresden, I wanted Schnitzel and to find a place that wasn't for the tourists. Enter Bautzner Tor. We checked it out during the day and were really put off by the facade but decided to try it anyway. I'm really glad we did as this is a 'don't judge a book by its cover' situation. Inside was such funky decor, like you're sitting in your grandmother's lounge. We were served quickly (extra impressive as the one waiter at the time was also dealing with a large table). The pork schnitzel hit the spot. I recommend booking in advance or getting in early. We were there at 1715 on Weds, and it was already quite busy. I'm not sure if this is always or just a December thing, but definitely reserve.
Anna A — Google review
The other reviews seem very generous. We had high expectations of the pork schnitzel as the highest recommended dish, but it was a disappointment for us and for the price. Very average plate, the potatoes and breading were quite good but the meat and veg were like you can get anywhere from frozen. The solyanka soup was quite delicious though. Beer on tap was okay, nothing special. The service is very friendly and the pub is beautiful. Maybe the schnitzel chef had an off day.

During my recent travels, I had the pleasure of spending an evening at Weinzentrale in Dresden-Neustadt, a must-visit wine bar that truly embodies the city's vibrant wine culture. This charming spot is renowned for its impressive selection of wines and has been shaped by the expertise of Jens Pietzonka, who was named Germany's best sommelier in 2021. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
What an amazing evening! Lovely atmosphere, food and wine pairing was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend and go again. Compliments to the chef for the dishes and it was extra special that she came out and served us.

We came with high expectations but were slightly disappointed. Menu 3 courses 52 euros and smal paper napkins, which is not a festive combination.Bread was forgotten, we had to ask for it. Very smal piece of terrine as an entree, the smallest piece of chicken we have ever had as a main course, with basmati rice and a mixture of vegetables. Nice but not very impressive. Riesling Sekt good, wine selection impeccable.Go here for the wine, not the food.

Stinky, smoky place with rude waitress. Wanted to have a beer, but she tried to force us to sit inside in the smoke. As we went out, she didn't let us to order. At the end we had to go away without getting anything. Very bad place.

If you visit Dresden and want to enjoy a beer in a traditional pub, this place is one of the best options. The beer selection is quite satisfying, and it’s also a great spot for Guinness lovers. The fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. I actually regret not coming here for a full meal — the dishes I saw on other tables looked amazing! :) The lady who served us was very kind and attentive. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained. They also host events on certain days of the month, which adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. I left the place very satisfied, so I’m giving it a well-deserved 5 stars with peace of mind.

The place had 2 separate areas, one where it was full of cigarete smoke, the other was without heating. We wanted to sit in the cold, they did not allow it while it sparsely populated. The staff was extremely rude about it, they would refuse to serve us. Very disappointing, rude and stinky.

Lebowski Bar is a small and lively pub located in the trendy Neustadt quarter of Dresden. Inspired by The Big Lebowski, this funky bar offers an excellent selection of beers and cocktails, including their famous white Russians. The cult classic movie plays on loop throughout the day, adding to the unique atmosphere. Despite its small size, it's a popular spot for those who want to extend their night out as it stays open until the early hours.
They pour a mean White Russian. And the Lebowski murals are amazing.

Coming in at 7:30pm on a Tuesday it was dead on the inside. I figure this place isn't busy until after 10pm? This place advertises as exactly as I would expect: a five bar with big Lebowski themed decorations and a decent selection of white Russian options. I ordered a white swede and I enjoyed it. Having Big Lebowski playing on the overhead TV is a nice touch. The server is pleasant but keeps to himself. They also accept card at this place, which I was happy about.

Just an amazing bar, the theme is the movie "Big Lebowski", which is a movie I love, and that was the reason I went there, didn't disappoint.. They make a good White Russian cocktail, and also have a really good spin on their Bloody Merry which is absolutely worth a shot (yes, they serve it as a shot as well).

The last bar open in Neustadt, good to finish up the night if everywhere else is closed. Prices and drinks are decent. The crowd is friendly and you will most likely find people to talk to. It can get very smokey and crowded sometimes. The bartender with the glasses may refuse you entry just for fun and laugh at you with his friends, this has saved me a lot of money so I'm grateful.

And I'm not even speaking about the band performance, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been too, I was almost crying in the end, would love to see them again if they come to Europe!

I went to a concert there and thought the venue was organized, had clean bathrooms, and the acoustic was good. I didn't have any drink, so I can't comment on the bar. It was a bit hard to find because the google maps actually gave me the wrong way. Following the maps direction, I ended up somewhere behind the venue.

Awesome location, friendly staff, good drinks for refreshing while at a concert. Wardrobe guy was great, hence he gets a special mention here. Went to see Static-X and their show was amazing. 🤘
Susan J — Google review
I'll give the venue the benefit of the doubt, hence the 3-star rating. The show I went for was one of the worst shows in terms of sound. No clear sound definition, individual band members were either completely drowned or so over-focused they drowned the rest (the singer was so loud at times it physically hurt). I have seen the band four times and I know their shows are great but this was not one of them. And before someone suggests I do not stand right in front of the main speakers - I stood right next to the sound technicians' "booth", but I doubt changing spots would do much.

Dope spot, nice music, only issue is that it gets really hot inside when there are a lot of people dancing inside, can be solved by installing better ventilation but overall amazing time

RACISM AND DANGER! A Colombian friend went to Gisela last Friday. The security guard told him to go back to his country and after that proceed to attack him and choked him for half a minute. He throw my friend on the floor afterwards. My friend had to be assisted in the hospital and he reported the man to the police. The only action the club administration took was to ban my friend from the club, so they protected the racist security guard. Absolutely not worthy to go, there are better and safer clubs in Dresden.

Lovely party venue. Bring your friends and have a good time. At least 2 dance floors, outside area, games from beer pong to Super Mario. Reasonable prices. Be there early enough or you'll spend most of the time waiting outside to get in!
Florian L — Google review
The security was racist and rude. Even though my friend showed Germany drivers license as he lives in Germany. But the security was adamant saying we need to show only passport and he didn't let us in and he was very rude and he was putting hand on us and telling us to leave. Worst experience. Hope the management does something about it.

Lovely cocktail bar. Old, family like living room setting. There's a big amount of non-alcoholic cocktails which were very refreshing. Very friendly service

Amazing atmosphere but disappointing cocktails. Loved the decor and cozy living room vibes but the cocktails were either too sweet or too bland. I think this place might be good for students as it is but with a little bit of elevation in their cocktail-making it could become a great cocktail bar!

Cozy and romantic vibe. Place with a lot of tasy cocktails and longdrinks. Mata Hari and Gin & Sparkle were very nice. The staff is friendly, just a bit slow sometimes. What I really liked was that they have snacks to go with your drinks. 👌

Perfect cozy place for an afternoon cake and coffee treat! The decoration inside takes you back to the DDR theme style! A bit crowdy, but almost guaranteed that you’ll always find a place to sit inside! Ordered a Cappuccino which was a little bit cold at first, however, the waiter appologized and was immediately changed by another! They have a big variety of quality tea from all around the world! Their cakes and tarts are on point, can’t wait to go again and try all of them! The place is also perfect for couples to chill and have a nice talk on their comfortable couches!

Recently the Security guards only check skin colour of a person. If white person, no problem in entry (Do not even ask for Id), but for Non-white person no -entry at any cost. Everyday Security guards tell that "Not allowed today, with no reason". Even the security guards are from Middle east but very racist to international people. The club is nice, Management should take action against these racist security guards.
Marc L — Google review
Friday 1st August around 11.58 pm we wanted to go Groove Station, which have the same entrance, and got the exact same treatment like other reviewers have described below. I’m a Swedish Citizen and showed my Swedish ID, and the security guy literally laughed and said they only let in people who speak German and carry German IDs. Even though they are not supposed to deny entrance to visitors to Groove Station they still do. Security guy was huge like a mountain, speaking German with a Russian/Polish accent and 0 level of English. He also made a point that he’s gay and that foreigners had harassed him before due to his sexual orientation, which is why he turns away anyone with a foreign ID. My German friend (doing a PhD in Dresden) and I were sober and stayed totally calm, but the Security guy got so aggressive that bystanders had to intervene. A couple of staff members (including the DJ) later came out to apologise, but said they couldn’t overrule him and that he had bad experiences with foreigners. Add this to the other reviews and it screams systematic discrimination against anyone with a foreign ID. I respect everyone—whatever their sexuality or background 🏳️‍🌈— but bad past experiences of one Security guard who is gay don’t justify rejecting everyone with a foreign ID. Management, please sort this out: set a clear, inclusive door policy, train your staff, and accept valid EU IDs. Tourists and locals alike deserve better.
Martin — Google review
We were kicked off for whatever reason. Only because I asked a bouncer where the WC was, I was kicked out by this muppet who said we were trying to get in without paying. We actually paid for wardrobes and they didn't return our money. These 'security guards' are just a cheap joke. Clearly, they have a self-esteem problem, which they canalize through overly-exercising the little power this poor job gives them. Especially the blocked security guys.
Matias D — Google review
Racist bouncer. Foreigners, avoid this place. They use various excuses to reject you. The bouncer might: 1.Ask for a student ID, then claim that students from your university are not allowed.2.Use a visa-related excuse, saying your visa must be valid for more than two years.3.Say the place is “house full” (full capacity), even if it’s not, and refuse entry. (It appears they only allow people of German ethnicity.🫡🫡 )
Bala G — Google review
This venue clearly discriminates against people who don’t look German or who have a foreign background. Two of our male friends were allowed in without any issue, but when we arrived, we were turned away with no logical explanation. No one else was asked for ID—only us—and the behavior of the staff was dismissive and disrespectful. It was obvious that our appearance and non-German background were the reasons. Being treated this way is shameful and unacceptable. Places like this fuel intolerance and division, and they should be publicly held accountable. We strongly believe such establishments do not deserve any support.
Ahmet K — Google review
I spent the new year's party here and was shocked at the behaviour of the staff here. The place is nice and music was also cool, especially at the DJ's. But the personal is extremely rude, agressive and arrogant. I didn't read the reviews before going but I can confirm the discriminatory tone they have with people. When he checked my ID he asked about the country I come from and if it wasn't because I had already bought a ticket online, they would definitely have refused my access. I won't go again to this place and don't recommend it.

Situated in Dresden's lively Neustadt district, Zapfanstalt is a popular destination for beer enthusiasts. Since its opening in October 2015, this cozy taproom has been offering a wide selection of local and regional beers, including traditional and craft varieties. With twenty taps and about a hundred bottled options, the bar caters to diverse preferences. The ambiance is inviting with red-cushioned stools surrounding the central bar, while contemporary light fixtures provide subtle illumination against the wallpapered walls.
Great recommendation from our hotel manager. Good selection of beers and the burgers were very good. We arrived early Friday evening and was getting busy, the staff, one guy behind the bar at the time :-), were quick and kept the beers flowing
Martin P — Google review
The food was okay but nothing special -just what you’d expect from a typical beer pub. The selection of non-alcoholic drinks is quite limited, mostly just variations of soda water. As for the beer, despite having a relatively large number of options, the selection is among the worst I’ve seen in places that brand themselves as "craft beer pubs." It felt like they simply picked the cheapest and least appealing options for each beer style and put them on tap. The bottled beer selection was no better. Most beers are only available in 0.3L servings and are quite overpriced considering the below-average quality. If you don’t really care what you’re drinking and are just out to have fun with friends, this place might be okay. But if you’re actually interested in the taste of beer and looking for something special, you can definitely skip this spot and save your money for a better experience.
Taras S — Google review
A bar with a different theme and special deals every day — such a fun concept! Their beers are delicious, and you can even order a beer tasting flight, which I really recommend. Getting a 1.5-liter pitcher of beer was such a fun and unique experience. The draft pilsner was slightly less carbonated than I expected, but the flavor was still excellent and well-balanced. The place itself is beautifully decorated — vintage arcade machines, various seating areas for small or large groups, and cozy bar-side spots all add to the great atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and want to stay longer. The schnitzel was very tasty and definitely worth trying. The fries were a bit saltier than usual, but still enjoyable overall. A fantastic spot for good beer, food, and vibes!
Deniz Ö — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing. We both ordered the Zapfanstalt Burger with sweet potato fries and aioli. I was so full afterwards because I just had to finish it all. Even being so full, I had to hold myself back from ordering another one. They even offer to go boxes for 1€. The Zapfanstalt pils is definitely recommended by us as well as the rosé gin tonic. I’ve never been a gin tonic fan but it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is so great. It felt so chill and relaxed and is great for going out with friends, with family or even on a date. The service was amazing and very fast and everyone was so friendly!! I would definitely go there again and again.
JK G — Google review
Place was very disorganized, you have to order your drinks and food at the bar and still the waiting times are gigantic. The burger sadly was bad, the meat was massively overcooked and dry. 2 stars because the drinks were tasty and the potato bits were yummy as well.

Best beer selection and the Wendy's promo for tasting was amazing! I'll come back to the place. The staff is friendly but overwhelmed with work, he should have had help, otherwise we were waiting 10 minutes at the bar even when the place was relatively quiet. Probably the best Techno club in Dresden. Professional sound system, very nice indoors and outdoors areas, at least 2 different stages and a small food area. The restaurant is very nice, the Latin music makes it feel like home for me. Food is very tasty and feels homemade, which I really appreciate. Cocktails are not expensive and very good. I think the service is a lil slow but the waiting was worth it.
Maria R — Google review
We really enjoyed our time here! I came to have a few drinks with friends and the vibes were genuinely immaculate. The music is authentic and groovy, putting everyone in the room in a very good mood, so much so that some customers started singing along, which was so nice to see! The drinks were also pretty fantastic, especially the daiquiri and the latin lover. I think it’s also really important to note that they can be more or less strong depending on preference, and that this can be inferred from the menu itself (usually, drinks with only one type of alcohol are lighter, and those with multiple alcohol types are a bit stronger). We also ordered tortilla chips with queso and guacamole to munch on, but the owner was so nice that he brought some extra salsa as well. I fully recommend this place for everything, from the atmosphere, to the service, to the drinks! I bet the food from the restaurant is also exquisite and I’ll definitely want to try some when I come back to Dresden.

We had some cocktails at night. The service was kind but very slow. The prices are great for how much alcohol comes in the drink. Best thing is definitely its ambience and the decoration of the place. Sadly we couldn't not eat because of the lack of proper vegan options. However there are few starters and some that look good if you are vegetarian.

I think this is probably more of a place to go if you want to drink and have a good time. The atmosphere is very nice :) While the empanadas we ordered were very good, the vegetarian dish with rice, beans and cassava was really not good. I wouldn’t go there again to eat something, just to drink.

Unfortunately the recipe variety at Scheune is not what it used to be. Before there was unique top quality Indian dishes and fusion food like fish salads. Now there is mainly fast Italian food. Best cocktail bar in town. A true hidden gem of Dresden, this bar is hidden in a more residential area of the town but don't be fooled. It can get crowded especially in the summertime. Mostly locals visit this place. The prices are a bit salty, but it is worth it in my opinion. They have delicious signature drinks and a lot of alcoholic free options. Located in the lively Dresdner Neustadt, studioBAR has been a go-to spot for a cozy evening since 1998. The two-story establishment exudes a welcoming atmosphere and is known for its aromatic cigars. The bar prides itself on crafting hand-crafted cocktails using innovative techniques and fresh ingredients. With a blend of classic and signature concoctions, patrons can expect an array of high-quality drinks at reasonable prices.
Stumbled upon this cozy little bar by accident a few weeks ago, and it was such a great find! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the barwoman was incredibly lovely—always smiling and making us feel at home. The drinks she prepared were carefully crafted, with great attention to detail and taste. Definitely a spot I’d visit again :))

The Cafe Pawlow is a punkrock pub in the town of Dresden. It is known for its hard, fast music and its rough exterior. It has been open since the early 1990s, and has remained popular with punk rock fans throughout the years. The staff is friendly and nonjudgmental, and the bar serves up draft beer at a cheap price.
Great atmosphere for those looking for a real old-school spot to drink beer and smoke some cigarettes. People there welcomed us well, it was a good experience. I hope to come back!

It looks rough, no doubt, black clothes and hard fast music, perhaps not for the timid or small minded, but the rest can find a friendly non judgmental place to chill with your dog, best bar in the area of dresden I know, I went every night, can't to get back. From the black gay visitor by the way.

Probably my favourite bar in Dresden honestly. Simple selection of beer, for a good price. It's a very cosy spot in a beautiful quiet corner of the typically busy Neustadt. (Translated by Google) Well, what can you say about the TBA... :D The music is usually really good if you like techno and the organizers also make an effort to organize good DJs. The audience is usually... a lot of getting used to... I often stay longer at parties than my friends, but as a woman I really don't want to be alone in the store... I'm constantly being spoken to strangely from the side I've never experienced this before and it's unpleasant. The facility is also not the best. Drink prices are ok, I've never had any problems at the door. It's good that the smoking ban is now being monitored, because you used to really suffocate in there around 3 o'clock in the morning because of the lack of ventilation ^^ (Original) Tjaaa was soll man zum TBA sagen...

(Translated by Google) Actually a bar exactly to my taste - good music, beer, self-service. When paying, the bartender was quite cheeky about demanding a tip (we had only ordered one beer at the bar). After he gave me my change, I threw some tip into the usual container provided. It was only when I counted at the door that I realized that he had given me far too little from the start. With the cheeky comment at the bar, I doubt it was a coincidence and it just leaves a bitter aftertaste. I understand that tipping is important - but I still want to decide for myself who, how much and for what service. If you feel the same way, then count your change again here. Unfortunately I won't come again.

(Translated by Google) Celebrated despite a strong thunderstorm without any reaction from the organizer to the thunderstorm. The Click Clack on Sunday was really successful, but when a thunderstorm came around 5/6 p.m. I found it very worrying that the organizers didn't bring the dancing people to safety or at least make an announcement that people should please go into the building until the storm is over. It wasn't until Pentecost that a sad incident occurred due to a lightning strike. We should all have learned from this that this danger should not be underestimated. The organizer is responsible for recognizing this danger and reacting accordingly. We were all very lucky that the event was able to continue without such an incident. But something doesn't have to happen beforehand in order to react in the future.
