The Usa Jingu Shinto Shrine, constructed in the early 8th century, is a remarkable site that boasts an impressive collection of cultural relics. The well-maintained gardens and shrines are breathtaking, and visitors can witness captivating performances on site. Despite some construction work being underway during my visit, it was still a delightful experience to explore the serene surroundings and indulge in local snacks from vendors outside the gates.
Unique shrine enshrined within the cave by the sea.

A beautiful and magnificent temple, serene and shaded, with an atmosphere that evokes the temple’s former glory in the past.
PoOm — Google review
This is a very beautiful Shinto shrine. I would argue the most beautiful I've ever been to. This shrine is ranked 2nd in importance after Ise Jingu near Nagoya. I've visited there as well, however, I'd rate this as more physically beautiful. Both the nature and the architecture are stunning. The main shrine itself was under construction, though everywhere else was still visible. A number of sights stood out to me, such as the covered bridge over the river , the bridges in the pond, and the huge torii gates. I noticed an interesting tradition here that stood out to me. You clap four times while praying, unlike the usual two. There's also a spot with 3 shrines lined up in order left to right, and the tradition is to pray at each one in order.

A beautiful shrine with an atmosphere like Ise Jingu.
Bethany J — Google review
Such a lovely shrine! It’s the second most prestigious shrine after Ise Shrine in Mie. Part of it was under construction, but it was still nice to walk around the quiet area and snack at the places lined up outside the gates. Not as spacious as Ise Shrine, but still definitely worth a visit
Maya S — Google review
Went for new year, was busy but no real queuing or waiting like you get at other shrines on new year's day. Very beautiful shrine, feels like you're stepping back hundreds of years into traditional Japan.
Andrew M — Google review
Usa-jingu in Oita is believed to be the first Shinto shrine in Japan in which Hachiman-ji, the god of military power, was enshrined. A Buddhist temple called Miroku-ji is also built next to it, which makes it the first shrine-temple ever. The main hall and the Kujaku Monkei are designated amongst Japan's National Treasures. When visiting, be sure to place your hands on the large camphor tree there to wish for success.

Nestled along the route to Usa City, Michi-no-eki Innai is a charming roadside station that offers travelers a delightful pit stop. Although I was eager to see the giant salamander rumored to be housed here, I learned it had sadly passed on. Instead, I marveled at its impressive stuffed replica on display.
I love the place
Tamtam T — Google review
USA City writes in Japanese “USA”. There is a quite splendid USA shrine in the country nearby. Moreover, the large salamander of a natural monument is bred in the station on this road, and it is possible to watch it. The parking lot is also spacious and easy to use. In addition, there are many old stone bridges in this district, and it is still used in the current service.

(Translated by Google) Even though it was just after 12:00 in the middle of Golden Week, there was no food such as bento boxes anymore. There were a lot of customers inside the station - the parking lot was full and there were a lot of bikers - it's certainly a popular roadside station. As someone who finally got there after being too hungry,... I had no choice but to buy a bag of peanut mochi and some tea. No, this is surprisingly good. Peanut mochi will fill your stomach. Next time I would like to have this as a souvenir. The restrooms were clean even though there were a lot of people there, and the staff at the store were kind enough to see me crying because I didn't have my lunch box. Thank you very much. Also, the tea from Watanabeen in Shimoge, Ajimu-cho, Usa City was very delicious! The best tea I've bought recently, 80g 1080 yen There were a lot of fresh foods, but it was getting hot so I couldn't buy them because I had a long way to go home.I'm sorry, but they were shiny green onions for a little over 100 yen. Waterfalls
Higashi Shiiya Falls is a picturesque natural attraction located in Yamato, Kumamoto on Kyushu Island. The 85m-high waterfall is surrounded by cliffs and offers a stunning sight, especially when crowned by a rainbow as the water crashes down onto the rocks. Visitors can enjoy a nice walking trail to reach the falls, but should be cautious of slippery paths and wear sensible shoes.
Beautiful experience. A very short, easy walk (just a little slippery in places if wet). You walk through a tunnel of green with streams of sun seeping through illuminating the path. The cool mist freshens a you walk through to an opening where you see the flowing waters cascading to a still pool. You will find opportunities for publication-worthy photos from every angle.

One of the nicest waterfalls I’ve seen in Japan. Walk is easy but slippery. Water is beautiful and chilly. There was one other couple when we were there. Can’t recommend enough.

Another hidden gem, very worth the visit if you are in the area for the safari anyways, glad we went. Slippery path for scenic hidden waterfall, so be careful, but blown away by how zen and secluded it feels. Wish we stayed a bit longer, a bit scary as very unpopulated

It is a waterfall within a waterfall. I truly enjoyed the hike with my wife. not too long. We are both retirees. It is however quite slippery especially when we need to walk across a waterfall towards the 85m waterfall. Wow.

It's a short but challenging walk to the fall. It's slippery w moss and rocks along the way. I would recommend proper shoes instead of sneakers. White sneakers is definitely not recommended! But otherwise, an excellent trek and view of the fall :)

Spectacular! Tall waterfall that is accessible. If you dare to brave the cold, you can even swim in the pool. We had our lunch at the resting area / parking. Parking fee is ¥300. Beautiful cherry blossoms in the the vicinity of the waterfall. Nice! 😉

Awesome waterfall. Have been there many times. Its always fun to go with friends. Parking and toilets are available. The main waterfall is in a 5 minute walking distance from the parking. Definitely recommend to go visit. Need to drive there as no buses ply to the waterfall, plus the drive is pleasant and full of beautiful scenery. Taking a few snacks and doing a simple dry picnic is also a good idea.

Kyushu Natural Animal Park African Safari, located between Beppu and Yufuin, offers a thrilling safari experience where visitors can drive through the vast park in secure jungle buses to see exotic animals like lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and more up close. The park also features interactive zones where guests can touch kangaroos and ride horses.
Visiting the Kyushu Wildlife Park African Safari was an absolutely thrilling experience! The drive-through safari allowed us to see majestic lions, elephants, giraffes, and more, up close from our car that it felt like a real African adventure! The highlight was the caged bus tour where we got to feed the lions, elephants, deer and more. It was an exhilarating and rare opportunity, especially for kids! But the surprises didn’t end there. The park’s interactive zone let us get up close with friendly horses, fluffy rabbits, and tiny hamsters. Those are definitely my kids’ favorite. The animals looked well-cared for, and the park was clean and well-organized. Totally worth it for families and animal lovers.
Sorlo S — Google review
Amazing safari experience! We usually steer clear of such attractions, but here the animals looked relaxed and well-kept. Driving the full route in our own car was more than enough, so the feeding bus felt unnecessary (we even got a refund). Our kids (10 and 8 yo) loved it.
Boaz G — Google review
Wow wow wow! You can get really up close to the animals while being in the comfort of your car and at your own pace. Animals are well taken care of and there is ample space for them. Such an environment is more natural than being in zoos. Saw a lot of animals with their cubs and calves. 🥰 We spent about 2 hours including the safari and a smaller section where you can feed miniature horses, kangaroos and pet guinea pigs. This place closes at 4pm so I would suggest arriving before 2pm.
Susan K — Google review
Very exciting, went with my kid. Advice is to arrive early to lineup for the official jungle bus. I arrive at 9 and got the jungle bus spot at noon. It’s a very unique experience.
Stephen C — Google review
Amazing experience and highly recommended! You can either take the park's Safari bus, or drive your own car into the enclosures and see the animals up close. There are lions, bears, giraffes and many other kinds of animals. The Safari bus is very popular, so you will need to arrive early to get a seat. You can get to feed the animals on the safari bus. Otherwise, just drive through in your own vehicle, which is just as fun and you can move along at your own pace. A must to visit for all visitors to Fukuoka/Beppu/Kyushu!
Cheong N — Google review
As part of our Day Tour trip, we arrived at the Wildlife Park in a Tour Bus. It was a exciting experience driving-through the park in our Bus allowing us to move around in the Bus seeing and taking photos of the animals. A stop-over at the Park’s interactive zone with rabbits and hamster added to the fun of the trip.
James W — Google review
Park opens at 9am. Queue outside the park with cars starts earlier. Self-drive starts at 9:30am. Drive up close to the animals present. Saw the giraffe, elephant, lion, tiger, cheetah, zebra, deer, etc. After the drive, do consider heading to the miniature horses (which you can feed by buying carrots for a fee using tongs), the cat saloon (entry for adults 500 yen, children below 4 free) or the dog saloon (entry 500 yen, children below 4 not allowed).
Tracy Y — Google review
What an amazing experience. We rented a car and drive up from Beppu to experience this African safari. Everyone has to pay for an admission ticket. You can either drive your own car or pay for a bus ticket and take one of the animal buses. We choose to drive our own car and it was so cool to get up and close with the animals. You also get to go through as many times as you like. You’re not limited to one drive through so you can experience the safari at different times and from different perspectives.

I ordered a set meal at Kakumasa restaurant, consisting of dumpling soup and katsudon. The variety of side dishes accompanying the dumpling soup was enjoyable, and the soup itself was delicious. The katsudon had a creamy egg and flavorful meat in the cutlet bowl. The staff provided good service throughout my visit. Overall, I recall spending less than 3000 yen for my meal.
I was stupid enough to come to Usa Jingu with a suitcase, and the people at this shop were kind enough to look after it for me while I was exploring the shrine. The soumen in the restaurant was delicious as well.

(Translated by Google) On the way back from visiting Usa Jingu, I visited for lunch at the recommendation of a local. Speaking of Oita, there are many delicious-looking menus such as the famous chicken tempura and dango soup, so I decided to order the ``Kami Ramen'', which seemed to bring good luck. However, I couldn't give up and ordered a single dish of chicken tempura and fried chicken to share with my companion. There are 6 large pieces of chicken tempura and fried chicken on top, so it's very filling. The divine ramen was also a refreshing soup, so I was able to finish it in no time. Usa Jingu is large, so it might be a good idea to have lunch before visiting! (Translated by Google) About three years ago, when I visited for lunch, the portions were small, the prices were a little high, and the taste was just about 3, leaning towards 2, so I didn't write a review. However, this time, on the day of the festival on August 2, 2025, there was a menu displayed outside the store, so I was reading it when a middle-aged man with glasses, who was also working at the greengrocer next door, yelled at me in a domineering manner, "If you're going to order food, please hurry up! We'll be closing after the fireworks!" Let me say this first: If that's the case, then don't display the menu outside the store. If you want to close, then put it away. I had come to a festival with my family and had a great time, but I felt sick. In the end, we went to a negiyaki shop and a dango shop afterwards. The service at both places was polite and the food was delicious. I've visited Usa Shrine many times, but today was the first time I've felt sick and had to leave. I also run my own business where customer service comes first, so I know I'm being nosy, but let me give you a lecture. Customers spend their time and money choosing your restaurant. They could have gone to another place, but they made a point of choosing yours. The same goes for people who just stopped by to look at the menu. They're not yet customers, but they took the time to show interest in your restaurant. Your service today is a complete disregard for all of their feelings, time, and money. If you continue to act like you did today and get complacent just because you're in a tourist destination, the end of inbound tourism will mean the end of your restaurant. I'm sure the restaurant's owner probably hasn't read this review, but I hope that anyone looking for a place to eat will recognize that this is the kind of person behind the restaurant. Also, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this, but while I was feeding my baby ice cream in the alley next to the restaurant, the middle-aged man in question was smoking a cigarette quite close by, without any regard for me. I couldn't tell him not to smoke there, so I left, but judging from the condition of the pavement, this isn't a private road... Is it really okay to almost block the road with displays of vegetables and fruit?

(Translated by Google) You can sit comfortably even with a large group, which is a given in a tourist spot. It's not bad to eat in a tatami room after picking out souvenirs from the shop. It's super convenient to be able to do both shopping and dining in one place! Considering a large souvenir shop, the food was both tasty and reasonably priced. After visiting Usa Shrine, we filled our stomachs before heading to Oita Airport. We searched Tabelog for delicious places to eat near Usa, but finding a parking space was too much of a hassle, so we decided to eat on the approach to Usa Shrine. Even so, this is a sizable tourist spot, and restaurants and souvenir shops are often located side by side. After browsing the shops, we decided on the spacious and neat "Kakumasa Tourist Souvenir Shop"! The shop is located in a souvenir street near the main gate of Usa Shrine. It's probably the largest souvenir shop in the area. There's a restaurant at the back of the large souvenir shop. It has a tatami room and plenty of tables, perfect for groups. According to their website, they have ample seating, accommodating anywhere from one person to 500 people! It's a testament to the power of Usa. Since it was outside of lunchtime, there were only three other customers. We were told we could sit anywhere, so the spacious inner room was occupied by the two of us! The menu offered everything from set meals to rice bowls, noodles, and curry. They seem to focus on local ingredients. I noticed something called "Tea Leaf Noodle Tempura Zaru," thin udon noodles kneaded with Yabakei tea leaves. I fell in love with their vibrant green color and ordered it immediately! We waited for 10 minutes, chatting about Usa Shrine. First, the pickles they sell were brought out. A service you'd only find in a souvenir shop. It really got me in the tourist mood. I don't remember the taste of the three types of pickles, but I couldn't help but buy some. The tea leaf noodles finally arrived! They looked just like the tempura soba served with chazoba. The beautiful, translucent green noodles were sure to whet my appetite. These tea leaf noodles are made with thin noodles kneaded with Yabakei tea leaves. If you look closely, you can see that the transparency of the noodles is completely different. They really are thin udon! The smooth texture is quite nice, but not as chewy as Sanuki udon. Although Yabakei tea leaves are kneaded into the noodles, the tea flavor is somewhat overpowered by the sweet broth, which is a bit disappointing. Perhaps a lighter broth would go well with these noodles, or so I imagine. Even more impressive is the amount of tempura. It's quite reasonable for a restaurant in a tourist area. The tempura ingredients are quite luxurious, including local vegetables, shrimp, and whiting. However, if you look closely at the tempura, it's fried somewhat like a fritter. It's been a while since I've seen anything like it. When dipped in the broth, it's sweet and quite delicious. However, it does feel a bit oily, and I started to get tired after eating it. I alternate between eating the tempura and the noodles, and it never seems to run out. The portions are larger than I expected. Many restaurants in tourist areas have fairly high prices, but this one is quite reasonably priced. The portions and the taste were not bad.

It has been quite some time since I last indulged in soft-shelled turtle cuisine! This particular dish, commonly savored in Vietnam, is expertly prepared at Yamasa Ryokan. The establishment boasts a serene atmosphere, attentive customer service, and exceptionally delectable offerings centered around soft-shelled turtle. Its variety of dishes ensures an enjoyable dining experience. Gratitude is extended to the young Nepalese landlady for her kind hospitality and exquisite taste in Japanese attire.
Came for the Suppon meal and did not stay. Very fresh and clean tasting Suppon. Everything was yummy. Worth the detour to Usa specially to eat here. They have a staff who could explain food items in english, which helped. Easy parking. Will definitely come back again. (Turn phone for vertical pictures 🤣🤣🤣)

Everyone, including the foreign male staff, was very polite and soft-spoken, and the customer service was pleasant. thank you very much. (Translated by Google) I thoroughly enjoyed the full course of soft-shelled turtle. The grilled liver in particular was so delicious that it still makes me drool when I think about it. The overall course was well-organized, and the service from the young proprietress was excellent. The only thing that might be a little confusing for first-time visitors is that the parking lot is a little narrow and the ground is uneven. However, these are minor issues, so if you have the chance, you should definitely experience it in person. The texture is somewhere between chicken and horse meat, and it's delicious and chewy. It's quite high in collagen, so I was able to enjoy its voluminous and juicy texture when fried or in a hot pot. (Translated by Google) The inn is currently undergoing renovations and only serves meals. I made a reservation and visited for lunch, and was extremely satisfied. The dining area appears to have just been renovated and is brand new and clean. Even though I visited alone, they assigned me to a nice private room. The dishes mainly consist of soft-shelled turtle, and you can try all the dishes. Famous soft-shelled turtle restaurants in Kyoto and Tokyo simmer the turtle in a strong broth to remove the fishy smell, but the broth here was surprisingly light. The broth is light, so it would seem that unless the turtle is extremely fresh, it would have an unpleasant smell, but there was no smell at all. I felt bad for visiting alone, as I got more satisfaction than I expected for the price. The eel is great but be careful if you go there with friends who don't want eel!! When I went there one of my group wanted a non-eel menu item but all non-eel meals were unavailable. In the end they organized to bring some tonkatsu pork from Kin-no-buta next door. I appreciated the effort they went to to provide the pork, but it would be great if they had some other items available.

The private room has tatami flooring, a dining table, and chairs, so it would be comfortable even for elderly people or those with mobility issues. The private room also has a garden. As you can see in the photo, when you open the sliding doors you can see a beautiful garden, which is sure to make a great conversation piece. The alcove is decorated with large vases, gourds, and chests of drawers, giving it a very Japanese feel. The food, of course, is delicious. I ordered the cheapest eel, but the eel was topped with shredded egg, which made its small size stand out, and was very tasty. The most eye-catching dish is the Daimyo Gozen, which I recommend you order. It's delicious. (Translated by Google) On the way back from a trip to Oita City with our child, my wife and I decided, without telling her, to go out for a late lunch and try something we don't usually eat at home. Even though it was already past Doyo no Ushi no Hi, we decided to go to an eel restaurant. I remembered there was an eel restaurant near Yokkaichi in Usa City, so I got off at Usa IC on the Higashi Kyushu Expressway and headed into Usa city. Following my memory of one on each side of Route 10, I drove for about 10 minutes looking for an eel restaurant sign. The first thing I found was a sign for "Shioya." Unfortunately, it was only for takeout in the afternoon... We retraced our steps and found "Takenoya." Luckily, it was open. I remember being at "Takenoya" once before, but that was about a quarter of a century ago. It felt more like my first time than it had been a long time. I was shown to a booth seat right at the entrance and sat down. There was a family there already. The impression of the restaurant's interior is that of a long-established establishment. But it's not just old; I think it's more accurate to say it has a relaxing atmosphere. Naturally, the menu only featured eel dishes. In addition to unaju, unadon, ohitsumabushi, and seiromushi, there was also the Daimyo Gozen set menu. At first, I was thinking of going for the Daimyo Gozen set menu, which includes unaju and chawanmushi, but the waiter told me, "If you want to enjoy eel to the fullest, I recommend the Unaju Tokumatsu," but added, "It's the equivalent of 1.5 eels..." So, I decided to be manly and go for the best Unaju Tokumatsu set menu. While waiting for my unaju to arrive, I ordered some eel bone crackers. They had a nice crunchy texture, the saltiness was just right, and they were very delicious. At eel restaurants I've been to in the past, they'd have free bone crackers on the table as a snack (to nibble on while waiting for your order to arrive, like with alcohol), but I guess it's common to order them now. While I was munching on the bone crackers, the Tokumatsu Unagi (Unagi Rice Bowl) arrived. The dish came with pickles and eel liver soup, making it look absolutely gorgeous. I immediately removed the lid of the box, and the fragrant aroma of eel sauce wafted out. The rice underneath is completely hidden from view, so you can tell just by looking at it how thick the eel is. It looked delicious even before I ate it. Now it was time to try it. The eel was plump and flaky, and the sauce further enhanced its flavor, making it incredibly delicious. The rice wasn't overly saturated, which is impressive. The amount of eel was more than enough, and I'm glad I ordered the Tokumatsu, as the waiter had recommended. The liver soup, which contained the liver of two eels, had a light saltiness that was perfectly balanced with the eel. It was incredibly delicious. As expected, a restaurant with a long history can't go wrong. Thank you for the meal. I apologize for commenting on something that has nothing to do with the taste of the food, but when I ordered bone crackers separately, they opened a ¥300 pack for takeaway and prepared it for me, but I was bothered by the fact that the price was listed as ¥380. I think they should either prepare it in an invisible place or standardize the price to avoid any misunderstandings.

The mound became the Heike Seven Tomb, and Kadowaki-no-Kaishu, while maintaining the mound, invested his own money and, at the tomb of Kiyomori in Shimonoseki, chanted sutras to transfer Kiyomori's soul into the stone, erected Kiyomori's tombstone, and buried the stone containing Kiyomori's soul under the tombstone. Tombstones for Norimori and the seven Heike clan members who died were erected. Various improvements have been made to the area around the Heike Seven Tombs, and to console the souls of the Heike clan, a Kagura hall and a rest area for worshippers have been set up, along with many photographs of worshippers and mysterious photographs. Kadowaki-kaishu guides visitors almost every day, providing detailed explanations. One time, when they were preparing to perform a Kagura dance, a mysterious phenomenon occurred, in which orbs (mitama) appeared around the Tomb. It is said that the size of the mitama represents the rank of the military commander. Kadowaki-kaishu protects the spirits of the deceased Heike clan at the Tomb of the Seven Heike. The entrance fee is 200 yen. When traveling from Myoban Onsen to Yufuin, I wanted to take a short detour, so I searched for Buddhist statues and ended up here. The photos of the Buddha statues looked beautiful, so I went there with high expectations, but when I saw the main hall and stopped by the shrine office, I was shocked. Please see other people's reviews for details. By the way, I went there without reading any reviews, so I was quite surprised. I think the Buddha statue was very nice. There were traces of it being colored, so I guess it was a little more colorful in the past. It seems to be in very good condition, so I wonder if it was made recently? It may seem that way, but the mountain was founded in 746, which means it was built over 1,200 years ago. It is said that the buildings other than the inner temple were destroyed by the Christian feudal lord Otomo Sorin. The path to Okunoin is a series of somewhat steep stairs, but I think it will take about 10 to 15 minutes each way. You can go up to the inner temple by opening the side door, and when you sit on the throne, you will see the wooden (single carved) figures of Fudo Myoo, Amida Nyorai, and Yakushi Nyorai. It was very beautiful. I think it's a place worth seeing, with the Nageire Hall and the wooden Buddha statue, so I'd like many people to visit. (Translated by Google) [Access] ※※※Very important※※※ When specifying a route with "Ryogo Rice Terraces" as a destination on Google Maps, be sure to specify "Yo Onsen" as a waypoint. If you specify the route directly to ``Ryogo Rice Terraces'' as your destination, you will enter the side road after passing ``Kifune Shrine (Plains)''. This road passes from Gokuraku-ji Temple to Ayo-no-taki and heads towards Ryogo Rice Terraces, but it is a very narrow road that does not allow you to separate from the rice terraces at all along the way. If an oncoming vehicle comes, it will be fatal. If you specify ``Yo Onsen'' as a waypoint, you can head to ``Ryogo Rice Terraces'' via another route that can be separated. By the way, if you want to go to Yo-no-taki, please note that you will need to specify the route on Google Maps so that you can head to the Yo-no-taki parking lot beyond Yo Onsen. [Review] *This is the normal review* [Visit date, on-site access] Well, I stopped by on November 16, 2022. In the above-mentioned access, we directly specified the Ryogo rice terraces, so we had a very difficult time getting there. Please be careful as this is a really deadly road. When you arrive, you will find a public rest area and restroom downstairs. There are roads on both sides of the rest area that lead up to the rice terraces. There is only one parking space in the middle of the road where you can make a U-turn. Be sure to park there and enjoy the rice terraces. If you go too far, you will have a hard time because there is no place to make a U-turn. *There is no guide to the parking space, so if you think you can make a U-turn here, that's the parking space. [Landscape/Ryoaikawa Bridge] This is a very quiet rice terrace in the mountains. Although the location was not the best in terms of the time and date I visited, I think it is a good rice terrace. It is approximately 4ha in size and consists of approximately 120 rice terraces. It was selected as one of Japan's top 100 rice terraces in 1999. A river flows between the two villages, and terraced rice fields spread out on the steep slopes on both sides. Although the population of both villages is declining and aging, they continue to cultivate rice using traditional hanging methods to preserve the landscape. The stone bridge ``Ryoai River Bridge'' spans the river that flows through the rice terraces, and it seems to be one of the famous spots. The Ryoai River Bridge is located a little above the rest area, and you can walk up it from the rest area. Next time I would like to visit during the Instagram-worthy period. The piers are thick and sturdy. Nowadays, you can only walk across it, but its presence was impressive. Although the river is covered with rocks, you can see potholes created by the flow of time, giving it a sense of authenticity. There was also a storefront, which could be seen from the middle height of the bridge. There didn't seem to be a parking lot, but since it's a short distance from the national highway, it seems like you'll be able to find a spot that won't interfere with traffic. It is a breathtaking water fall in Fukino, Usa which is a one and half hour drive from Oita. The road to the waterfall from the mainroad is narrow and little bit tricky. So you need to be very careful with your driving. Once you enter tge parking lot you will see that why it is worth all the trouble to get there. We went there on a weekend and were quite a few people there. There is a fine resting area and well maintained restrooms in the parking lot. No need to buy tickets to enter. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the waterfall. On the way to the waterfall you will find some child friendly natural pools. It is the most beautiful waterfall i have visited in Oita. There is a side walk where you cango behind the waterfall. There are some places that are slippery but altogether it is a safe walk. I wouldn't recommend swimming in the pool because for me it seemed that some areas are too deep. But there are some places down the stream. If one wants to get in the water.

In addition, residents of a nearby elderly welfare facility 🈁I came to Kannon. You can see what the local people are suggesting. Buzen Province Thirty-Three Kannon Sacred Sites Third Temple St. Kannon is enshrined, and the entire ceiling is covered with Kannon statues. The other temples are also well-equipped with beautiful paintings that are appropriate for the temple. The most interesting building for me is the amazing temple built around the rock at the very back. A river flows right next to it and the Kannon statue creates a nice atmosphere. It's a very good place for vacation. Food are delicious and healthy, so the service is.

Service was quick, staff friendly, food was ok, but it was a Smoky environment, people smoking nearby while in the restaurant was not a pleasant experience.

(Translated by Google) Joyfull when you are in trouble❗ This is a useful item in rural areas where there are few shops. I think it's better if you don't have too high expectations for your cooking. I've been using it a lot lately, and I feel like the store staff has gotten a lot better! Has the clerk changed a lot and changed his personality? The staff worked hard today and the food arrived early ❗ Smiling and nice ❗ The number of customers has recovered due to Corona 5, which is a good thing, but the staff are very busy, the ban on eating black has been lifted, and the number of unusually loud groups has increased, making it no longer a relaxing meal.

After 30 minutes, it was clear that the staff were still serving customers who had arrived after us, so we called a staff member to check. We were told to wait a moment, but there was no word from that. After almost an hour, our food was finally served. However, the grilled teppan dishes were cold and not even hot, and were burnt. Although we had ordered a large portion of rice, it was clearly less than a regular portion. There was no apology for the delay, and the staff just acted nonchalantly. We were truly shocked. This establishment has a celebrated reputation within this community. If you have an affinity for karaage, you won't find a more ideal location than this. It is truly splendid and greatly appreciated. The eatery Karaage Taiko (also known as Usa Karaage) offers takeout services and is renowned for its exceptional quality of food.
This place is legendary in this town. If you like karaage, I can't this of a better place than this one.

Honestly a bit disappointing despite all the hype. The chicken, while good, lacked flavoring, which led to it retaining a strong chicken smell. Didn’t hate it, but would go again. We got 5 pieces of chicken for just 400yen though, so not a bad deal. (Would love some sauces or seasonings next time though)

(Translated by Google) Karaage Taiko is a long-established fried chicken restaurant in Usa City. I first visited 5 years ago after being recommended by an acquaintance who lives in Usa City. Since then, I have been stopping by when I have something to do in Usa City. This time I ordered three types: boneless fried chicken, chicken wings, and chicken wings. Personally, I love the bone-in momos eaten wild and the fried chicken that comes in packets, but they were sold out this time. disappointing. The flavor is soy sauce based. It's a little milder than Nakatsu's fried chicken, and it's easy to eat without being greasy. It's delicious even when it's cold, but it's even better when it's freshly fried. A popular restaurant where I could see customers one after another while I was waiting (about 10 minutes) for my fries to be cooked. I go to the restaurant directly because it's random, but I recommend making a reservation by phone so you can receive the fried chicken without waiting.

(Translated by Google) Nakatsu's fried chicken is particularly famous, but Usa is the birthplace of fried chicken. No wonder you have to try it. Taiko's fried chicken in particular is incredibly delicious even after it's gone cold and you reheat it at home. It goes without saying that it's best when it's freshly made. If I had to say one thing, it would be to be careful not to get burned. There is parking for a few cars in front of the store, and a larger area a little to the south (1-minute walk).

(Translated by Google) The deep fried gizzard shad was delicious!! (I'd never tried it before) Take-out only. When I arrived, there was a big clock display (electronic display board), so I wondered why, but it was to check the waiting time. It was installed so that it could be seen from the parking lot. My order was ready in about 10 minutes. When I told the staff at the hotel where I was staying that I wanted to eat Nakatsu Karaage!!, they recommended that I try Usa Karaage if I was going to Usa Shrine. I'm glad they told me (*^_^*) It was delicious. (Translated by Google) I went there around 1:40pm on a Sunday. I ordered 400g of bone-in fried chicken (1,120 yen), 300g of boneless fried chicken (900 yen), and 200g of fried chicken gizzard shad (560 yen). They said it would take about 15 minutes, so I waited in the parking lot in front of the restaurant, and they called me just in time to buy my order and eat it at home that night. I think it tastes best when it's freshly fried, but I also warmed it up in the microwave and drizzled it with kabosu juice, which was delicious.
