Pittsburgh in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Pittsburgh, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
At the confluence of two rivers into the mighty Ohio River, Pittsburgh has always been a city of bridges. In addition to the iconic steel structures that connect downtown's skyscrapers, the city offers other places to cross over between attractions. The inclines in the South Side lend stunning views of the city and the rivers, and the Fort Pitt Bridge provides a dramatic gateway for motorists along Interstate 376. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Andy Warhol Museum give a history of the area and display unique art.
With favorites like Schenley Park, Randyland, and Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Carmi Soul Food - Express Southern Kitchen and Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar so you can get the best taste of Pittsburgh while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

PNC Park is a picturesque baseball stadium located on the riverside, hosting Pittsburgh Pirates games. The classic architecture of the park mimics America's traditional baseball fields and has hosted all-star games and playoffs. The area around the park offers various attractions such as restaurants, retail shops, and world-class museums like the National Aviary and the Andy Warhol Museum. Visitors can also enjoy tours focusing on the history of the Rebellion with a cocktail and tasting flight included.
One of the most beautiful ball parks. If you’re in are coming here do not forget the stadium is outside and many of the seats are in the sun! Catch a day and night game so you can see the skyline during both times of day. You’ll be walking along the Roberto Clemente bridge and the view of the bridges from here are excellent. So many good photo ops. Highly recommend catching a game here!

PNC Park is hands down one of the best ballparks in the country! Getting there is incredibly easy – it’s just a short walk from downtown Pittsburgh, and the area around the stadium is very walkable. Entry into the park was smooth and hassle-free, which made the whole experience even better. The ballpark itself is beautiful with plenty of concessions available throughout. As expected at a major league park, food and drinks are on the pricey side, but the variety of options makes it worth it. The views are absolutely spectacular – you get an amazing backdrop of downtown Pittsburgh and the river, which adds so much to the game-day atmosphere. Even if your seats aren’t the best, PNC Park has plenty of areas to move around and take in different perspectives of the game. From the outfield concourses to open standing areas, every angle seems to offer a great view. Overall, the combination of easy access, great amenities, and one-of-a-kind views make PNC Park a must-visit for any baseball fan or visitor to Pittsburgh.

The stadium has good history, atmosphere. Easy to walk to from nearby hotels. Very clean, staff friendly and accommodating. This was the only stadium that the usher wiped down my seat so far. We've been to several. Nice area, worth the trip. It was kind of confusing to walk around inside the stadium to check it out. Before we sat in our seats.
Matthew — Google review
This is my favorite ball park. We travel the country just to see baseball stadiums. This is a great place. The view... the people. MLB has to do a better job with the food but the prices are below average and if you go when the gates open drinks were on happy hour prices. The ushers were great. This is the one ballpark that you want to sit higher up on the first base line so you have a great view. Normally I like to sit as close as I can to the field but the view is worth the sacrifice and the tickets are way cheaper. Take in as many games as you can while you're there.
Mike W — Google review
Calling yourself the Best Ballpark in America takes some big ones. Being an SF Giants fan, I might have to disagree. I attended a Sunday afternoon game here, was a rather warm day, but my seats were soon in the shade and I was able to enjoy the rest of the game. The views are quite stunning, it’s a perfectly situated ballpark. My only complaint was that the concessions weren’t as special as the park.
Dennis P — Google review
The best baseball views in the country. The concourses are open and have lots of food and drinks available. Large bathrooms, easy to find seating. The exterior has lots of foor and bar options and the walk over the Clemente bridge makes for a great outing.
Jonathan W — Google review
Best ballpark in the world with the best view of Pittsburgh! The employees are all very friendly- everyone at security, to the elevator operators or the vendors all make you feel immediately welcomed and seem very proud to work there. Be prepared to pay a lot for parking which is anywhere from $25-$40 on game day. The lots fill up quickly, so be prepared for a walk from the parking lots or garages surrounding the stadium. Food prices are also outrageous but there’s a lot of choices. I ordered the a slice of “world-famous” Caliente pizza which was huge and equivalent to two slices and cost $12 a slice. It was very good and also very greasy! All in all, if you’re a baseball fan, add this ballpark on your list to visit…you won’t be disappointed!
Tricia P — Google review
This is a beautiful park. It's clean and the staff were all friendly. Even the fans were kind and helpful. The surrounding area is nice and felt safe both before and after the game. There are a lot of great eateries and attractions around the stadium. The whole package makes for a great experience.

The National Aviary, located in Pittsburgh's historic North Side, is a renowned bird sanctuary boasting over 500 birds from 150 different species worldwide. Many of these avian residents are considered threatened or endangered in their natural habitats. The aviary offers interactive exhibits where visitors can walk through and intimately interact with the free-flying birds. Additionally, guests have the unique opportunity to hand-feed and meet rare species during their visit.
This is a beautiful place that we just visited for the first time. The place is so clean, the staff is so friendly and the rooms and the birds are just amazing. There is a lot to see and do here and the staff is on hand to answer questions. They have a lovely little gift shop, a few larger birds to see outside and then several rooms inside. They have a place to sit and eat, clean rest rooms with an adult changing table. They have free entry for a paid caregiver and they accept the Access card for up to 4 people at $5 each. They have their own parking lot and it is a flat fee of $7. We will definitely visit again!

I cant say enough about this place. Every room is spectacular. There are such a wide variety of birds and some are very friendly. Each of the large rooms has a show twice a day. We saw each one and they were immersive and enjoyable, you got learn individual birds names and personalities, and the staff was very knowledgeable. We spent the entire day, went through each area twice, had lunch, and saw the separate show called Passport to the Parks (worth the extra $5). Free parking. Attached gift shop and eatery.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about The National Aviary. As a lifelong lover of the Aviary, my husband and I chose it as our wedding reception venue in February of 2025. From start to finish, the events team helped to make the entire planning process a breeze. We worked with multiple members of their team throughout the planning process, and they were all extremely helpful. Victoria's warmth, professionalism, and knowledge provided comfort and assurance throughout our planning process. We had Adrieanna the night of, and she worked with all of our vendors to make sure the night flowed perfectly! Having Atria’s as the Aviary’s exclusive caterer was incredible, as well. Natalie was extremely helpful and worked with us to create a perfectly customized food and drink menu. She took all of the guesswork out when it came to linens and tableware. All of the servers and bartenders were attentive, personable, and kept our guests happy all night. ALL of the Aviary and Atria’s staff helped to make the entire night smooth and unforgettable. Our guests were able to explore the habitats, meet a penguin (shout out to our boy, Wyatt!), and enjoy an amazing meal and bar in a beautiful facility. If you are looking for the best of both worlds when it comes to having a unique experience AND a stunning event space - the National Aviary is IT.

I was visiting Pittsburgh for a few days and walked here from the downtown area as it was a perfect fall day . I arrived on a weekday when it opened and spent a leisurely time walking around observing ,listening and soaking in the educational information. I suppose I was lucky that day because All the birds were out and about & wanted to to be seen and heard . Magnificent birds! Staff was professional and friendly when needed . Good place to spend a couple of hours learning and hanging out with the birds ( & a few others-like the sloth who was napping up in a tree . ) it was definitely worth my time and a great experience!

We went for a wedding so I don't know how much tickets are but we did get to walk around the aviary afterwards. It was a lot of fun. Beautiful venue and the staff was amazing.

Love this place. I hadn’t been in a while but it’s definitely a place to take your kids. They have added scheduled times to feed different birds eg; the penguins. I took lots of pictures and will definitely take my grandkids next time.
Gina A — Google review
Awesome place to learn about birds of all kinds and sizes. Totally worth it to visit for families with young kids who want to see and learn about different birds. Their cafeteria is good and their gift shop is nice. It’s street parking for the most part but easy to find. Very close to other downtown attractions

Such a wonderful day - took an out of town friend visiting Pittsburgh. Last time I was here was probably 20 years ago. Definitely a mistake waiting that long to come back. It’s so cool seeing all the birds flying around you. Got to watch a couple feedings and the staff are all so informative. Highly recommend spending the extra $3 to get a cup of nectar to feed the lorikeets. We had so much fun we got more tickets for the next feeding. Such a wonderful day.

Art museum
The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. It celebrates the iconic pop art figure, showcasing his diverse collection from early student works to portraits of global celebrities. The museum also hosts rotating exhibits that push the boundaries of American art, featuring avant-garde performances and workshops.
Just for a day trip to Pittsburgh, I had to try out the Andy Warhol museum. I was pleased surprised with a lot of his artwork that I was not aware of, like his “blotted ink” artwork and seeing how he collected a lot of common items and collectors items! I loved how easy it was to follow the art and I would definitely bring your significant other or a good day trip!
Ty E — Google review
Great museum on the North Shore. This is a multi level (multi floors with an elevator) museum with some of Warhol's art you won't find anywhere else as it does not travel. We spent the best part of the day here. We love Andy Warhol's works and so this was truly a treat for us to see and learn so much more than we knew before. Definitely a must when visiting Pittsburgh.
Greg S — Google review
Fantastic experience with 7 well-organized floors of wonderful Warhol works. Paintings and films, oodles of cool memorabilia, and “The Factory” in the basement where you can silk screen your own t-shirt on weekends 12-4. Highly recommend!
Steph R — Google review
Was able to visit for free as a museum employee, but I’d definitely have found it worth it for the price! Comprehensive collection and thoughtful layout + wall text. They also offer a few tours which are very worth the time, I had a great time learning from Cate about Andy’s early work. Super cool activities in the basement where you can print your own shirt with Andy’s designs which is such a unique keepsake
Gabrielle R — Google review
Set aside a full day to savor the masterpiece that is the Andy Warhol Museum. Browse the charming shop on the first floor, and enjoy a coffee at the on-site café. It was an honor to experience the largest museum in America dedicated to a single artist.

We were in Pittsburgh so we decided to stop as we had time. Price wasn’t too bad, there are 7 floors with 6, with items to see. He was a strange dude, as you can see one of the photos is a stuffed dog, which he purchased for his own collection. You can see some of his iconic pieces, so if you’re a fan I would say it’s worth the stop.
Dana A — Google review
I was not that familiar with Warhols works other than his famous iconic works like Campbell soup and Monroe, so I was curious to see his other styles of art, especially his abstract series. The museum is 7 floors and there are a lot of interactive things to take in. My favorite floors were 4 and 2. My favorite pieces were the typewriter and the white gem stone. Im really into minimalist expressions right now. I only had about a 1.5 hour in the museum, but you could easily spend a few hours and really learn about his life. It had a really large gift shop and there was a coffee shop. Both are free to the public. I think after 5 on Fridays they have date night events and admission is half off. It's closed on Tuesdays right now. I was going to go on a Tuesday because my birthday was on a Tuesday. My most interesting take away was his involvement in music and the velvet underground. There was a biography about Nico that looked interesting. I may read it in the future. I don't know if I resonate with their music, but I found their sound interesting as well as the story of Nico and Andy Warhol. You can get a museum pass for 75 a year that lets you into four area museums which is a great artistic investment. The Warhol museum is one of the 4 museums included in the annual pass. You can also get a free day pass for 4 with the rad pass summer program if you have a library card and sign up on the rad website.

The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh is an absolute must-visit — a bold, immersive celebration of one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century. Housed in a sprawling seven-floor space, the museum offers a deep and fascinating dive into Warhol’s life, art, and cultural impact, all right in his hometown. Every floor offers something unique. The Andy Warhol Museum isn’t just an art museum — it’s a cultural landmark that captures the spirit of innovation, rebellion, and creativity. A brilliant and unforgettable stop in Pittsburgh that’s worth every minute.

Point State Park, located at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers in downtown Pittsburgh, spans 36 acres and offers a mix of historical landmarks and recreational opportunities. The park features the Fort Pitt Museum and the Fort Pitt Blockhouse, which provide insight into Pittsburgh's founding and its role in the American Revolutionary War. Visitors can enjoy boating, hiking, biking, or simply relax while taking in picturesque views of the city and rivers.
Really nice park and nice views of city. Def a must go to check out. Had some museums also but it was closed when I came. Area and park being under construction so in a Few years I’m sure the area will be even nicer.
Justin D — Google review
Great place to see the rivers from the Ohio River. There are no guardrails to protect you from falling into the rivers. Very windy, so securing your personals is a must. There are shaded walkways to enjoy some botanical insight and learn about the local vegetation. Great place to run, jog or bike. Security makes there rounds frequently. Nice open space to play it have a picnic, but can be very crowded. You can hear and see the stadium from the point.
Fort L — Google review
It’s beautiful, I really like the botanical garden and the area next to the university. The park feels very relaxing. But right now there’s a lot of road construction, so GPS doesn’t really help. For tourists like us, it’s not very friendly—we’re just wandering around trying to find our way.
Chloe T — Google review
I was pretty disappointed that the fountain wasn't working on our visit(Monday, May 19). But, it's still an absolutely stunning area to soak up all the great views of Pittsburgh.
Suomirakastaa — Google review
Point State Park is one of those rare places that captures the entire soul of a city. Where the three rivers meet, you can feel the energy of Pittsburgh — steel roots, modern skyline, and endless water reflections that look straight out of a postcard. Whether you’re catching the fountain mist on a summer evening, watching boats glide by, or taking in the golden bridges from every angle, it’s pure magic. The park is clean, peaceful, and perfectly blends urban life with nature’s calm. If you want to understand Pittsburgh, start here — the Point is the point.
Adam F — Google review
Great walk to this park. Pretty amazing views and while going there you can go through the market or do the river walk. Both are amazing. Must do if you are in Pittsburgh.
N N — Google review
This is a well maintained park that offers great walking trails and sites of historical importance. One can walk up to the end of the park, which is the point, and see forks of the Ohio where the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers converge. This area was contested by French, Indigenous, Pennsylvania, and Virginia that culminated in the actions that led to the Seven Year's War. The outline of Fort Duquesne and the Fort Pitt Museum offer much information for those who love the historic significance of this area. the pathways offer views through vegetation as well as of the rivers. I recommend running, jogging, and walking around 9:00 in the morning at this time of year. This is a must see destination for those in the Pittsburgh area.

Southern restaurant (US)
Carmi Soul Food Restaurant offers a cozy and laid-back atmosphere where guests can enjoy authentic Southern soul food. The restaurant is known for its delectable menu featuring dishes like fried catfish, stuffed pork chops, and the popular chicken and waffles. One of their standout items is the catfish po' boy, made with sustainably farm-raised catfish that's perfectly fried to achieve a crunchy crust and flaky texture without the typical strong taste associated with catfish.
Never knew of this place, I was originally gonna go nextdoor to Hook N Fish but saw this place and figured I’d try it. So glad I did! I was warmly greeted and could tell the food was made with love, heart, and soul. I ordered the catfish and grits meal though I’ve never found grits that I liked. These grits however, where on a whole other level, they were seasoned to perfection and to me, tasted like cheesy mashed potatoes, best grits I’ve ever had! The catfish was seasoned to perfection and was delicious! You could tell they make the food with love. I will be back.

If I can give 0 stars I would. Lettuce in salad was wilted. The Cook was eating the damn fries in front of me that that goes with my order.. no proper etiquette what so ever, ordered a slice of cake it was hard as hell smh…. Just straight trash throw the whole restaurant away

We ordered so much food when we were here and we're obsessed. Every single thing you can get at this restaurant is so good. There is so much flavor in every dish and side. I can not wait to go back again! If you like spicy or cajun food do not sleep on this place it will blow your mind.

This place is a gem! Try the glazed salmon on Fridays - it's amazing. The chicken & dumplings soup and shrimp & grits are scrumptious. When people are passionate about what they do and have the experience to back it up, great things (and food) happen. Great staff. Wonderful people. Family-owned and operated. Can't wait to come back for more.
Matthew W — Google review
Food was good except for the fried green tomatoes. You could tell they were frozen and then reheated. I sent them back. For the price of it all, you should get at least 2 pieces of catfish. The salmon was pretty good but could've been better with a little more flavor. The yams, greens and Mac and cheese were the best out of it all. The cornbread was like cake... perfect. I really enjoyed the artwork that was displayed throughout the restaurant. The employees... the 2 ladles were very helpful and customer service oriented.

Great experience and perfect atmosphere for my family of five . I highly recommend the chicken and waffles , it is cooked to perfection! The smothered wings were 3.5/5 , fried chicken 3.5/5 , mac and cheese 4/5 ( very creamy and good ) , chicken tenders 4.5/5 these were our favorite !! That waffle was made with love and extra butter , it was soft just like we like it definitely 5/5 ! Thank you Carmi for taking care of my family . Hope to see you in the future !

Stopped in for brunch and was amazed. I don’t see why more people weren’t dining in. Tried the shrimp and grits, and it was some of the best I’ve had. Cheesy goodness and a huge portion. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. Mac and cheese and catfish looked amazing. The only complaint was it seems it took the food a while to come out, but it was so worth the wait.

I was in the city this weekend & gave this spot a chance. I ordered: BBQ Pork Sandwich, 4 fried wings w/ Mac n cheese & seafood salad. Wife: smoked pork ribs w potatoe salad. Food was good, hit the spot! We didn’t have the pleasure of tasting the “potato salad or seafood salad” b/c the server forgot & I didn’t check my bag. I called to see if we could be accommodated for this error. A lady called the next day saying come get those two sides. That was very respectable service ;-) I would eat here again, but hopefully they get a bigger spot to dine in.

Sandwich shop
Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is a long-standing Pittsburgh chain famous for its sandwiches loaded with coleslaw and french fries. The original location in Historic Market Square has been recognized as an American classic by the James Beard Foundation, making it a must-visit spot in Pennsylvania. Despite initial doubts, visitors have raved about the iconic atmosphere and delicious sandwiches, such as the Reuben, paired with great drinks like the Drunk Duck.
Just go. It is not only a tradition while in Pittsburgh, but they do a great job serving filling comfort food. They have been at this since 1933, and have multiple locations - so they have to have it right. I would agree - with the exception that the option of having the amazing bread used on the sandwich’s toasted is missing. Tastes change, toasted bread should be an option. Staff were having fun with each other and each staff person was accommodating and friendly. Good selection of beer and DO NOT be afraid of a sandwich that has fries and coleslaw included.
Ross A — Google review
Highly recommended by a local. I concur. The experience was great. Our server did more than bring us food. She fed us information about the area as well as the unique sandwiches. I enjoyed eating my fries and coleslaw as part of my sandwich. The portions were huge. If you find yourself in Pittsburgh this was a great place to feed your mind as well as your body.

Our first food stop of the trip and it started on a high note! Adorable place, right in downtown. The drinks came first and they were HUGE with a little rubber duckies in them which made me just over the moon! We split the fish sandwich and onion rings which was more than enough for two people. The sandwich was incredible, Pittsburgh Style, with coleslaw slaw and fries, and the onion rings were also just the best. Not a huge place and it wasn't busy at the time we went but may get busy later. Staff was very sweet. Prices were great. We loved it here.

Whenever you’re in Pittsburgh, locals and even visitors will recommend Primanti Bros.’ almost famous sandwich. This location, nestled in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, is a small bar/restaurant with an outdoor seating area. It can quickly get packed, especially on game days. The sandwich we ordered was a hit. At first, you might think it’s a sandwich with fries and coleslaw inside? It’s a lot of carbs, but don’t worry, it’s all in good fun. The sandwich has a perfect balance of flavours, and the meat is up to your liking. The size is pretty generous, so I’m glad we only ordered one set and a side. Overall, I highly recommend Primanti Bros.’ sandwich whenever you’re in Pittsburgh.
Kevin F — Google review
Such a fantastic restaurant and bar, their sandwiches are out of this world I would recommend the Pastrami (see photos), and their cheesesteak loaded fries are also exceptionally good. I also had their chicken tenders and fries and they were incredible, came in a mountain and got a lot more than expecting. Really good prices too definitely not getting ripped off here at all. Always busy but a very good atmosphere, with TVs showing sports but always somewhere to sit. Staff were really kind, friendly and service is rapid. I like how you can see them cooking your food from the bar, I would certainly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to eat that's inexpensive and delicious in the heart of the city.
Adam S — Google review
A classic Pittsburgh spot known for its signature sandwiches with fries and coleslaw inside. We tried the pastrami and mozzarella sandwich to go — unusual but interesting flavor. The place is lively with friendly staff, and the steady crowd shows the food is fresh. The only downside — very greasy, slippery floors.
Анастасия Х — Google review
We heard so many good reviews of this place and that it's a Pittsburgh must stop place to go and eat so we gave it a try. Honestly, this place was not for me. There was too much bread with a lot of cole slaw than there was meat. I added raw onions to my sandwich and it did make it taste better. But otherwise it was a bit too messy to eat and not as flavorful for my taste. I love fries but being inside the sandwich was just too soggy and bland. We also ordered chicken wings and that was pretty good. The staff was very nice. The only thing I was not too fond of was how oily and slippery the place was inside. I'm glad we gave it a try but I'm not sure I would crave it again. I think if the fries were crispier and more flavorful it would imagine the sandwich more flavor.
Carolina P — Google review
This type of sandwich is what I used to watch on the travel channel in the early 2000’s. And, it was everything I hoped it to be. The regular pastrami and cheese sandwich was delicious. The natural cut fries are my favorite (which are like five guys). Coleslaw was not overly sweet or seasoned. The pastrami was tender. It was a travel channel dream come true.

EYV Hospitality

Vegetarian restaurant
American restaurant
EYV Restaurant, short for Eat Your Veggies, offers a plant-based menu that changes with the seasons. Chef Mike Godlewski's creative approach to cooking puts vegetables at the forefront, while also incorporating meat, fish, and poultry as complementary elements. The restaurant is known for its beautifully plated dishes that showcase playful and sophisticated compositions. EYV is praised for being gluten-free and vegan-friendly, using local farm ingredients and offering a wide range of options for diners with dietary restrictions.
You must try EYV!!! It is absolutely one my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. My husband and I are quite picky eaters, but EYV never disappoints. Their food is creative, innovative, and has a “wow factor” that strikes from the very first bite to finish. Every dish has multiple layers of flavor and texture…you can tell there’s a lot of love and effort put into the dish. Their desserts and cocktails are incredible too. I took my Japanese parents, and they absolutely loved it. It is a vegetable-forwarded restaurant, but we always leave here full and satisfied (we are not vegetarian nor vegan). We love Rod, the server, he is always friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place!!

Good meal! But far from a dining destination. Pittsburgh has a rich collection of venues and cuisines that make up its diverse food scene. EYV’s concept of an upscale, prefixed menu focusing on plants is welcomed among the likes of Apteka. Overall, EYV is doing a good job but has a ways to go before being ensconced as a “dining destination” in the City of Bridges. What this restaurant is doing well: their food! The kitchen, which is the engine of the restaurant, is what is right about this place. I wouldn’t say each dish my partner and I tried were flawless, but the flavors and concepts were great and there’s so much potential. Of note, the cabbage pastrami was really good. Tons of flavor from such a little wedge of cabbage! I don’t recommend the cocktails. Neither my partner nor I liked them. What this place needs to work on: their front of house guest experience. The experience was mixed to say the least. Our server was great - very personable, attentive, and knowledgeable. However, another server dropped silverware down the stairs, we heard cups or dishes get dropped upstairs in the bar area, and a completely different server kept trying to come by our table to talk which was odd as we were trying to enjoy a meal. The overall feel was clunky. It would be nice to see the restaurant share who their vendors are on their site and menus. They are putting out an intention of being “a community” but they don’t showcase any local vendors or farms. The stark contrast in experience between the food and guest experience makes me feel this restaurant isn’t sure if they are trying to be more of a fine dining experience or something more casual. The menus are prefixed, deposits take for reservations, and an intentionality in the dishes which tell a story to guests of being upscale. If this is true, then the guest experience in the dining room needs to match…and it doesn’t. If you’re in town and wanting a good vegetarian or vegan meal, I’d absolutely give this place a try!

We chose EYV for our wedding dinner, after getting married at the courthouse! Michael was extremely easy to communicate with during the entire process, and accommodated multiple food preferences. The atmosphere, service, food and drinks were beyond what we had hoped. Michael and the staff's attention to detail was evident from the moment we walked in to the last bite of our delicious dessert! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Pittsburgh area and for anyone wanting to host an intimate gathering with family and friends. This will be a meal we talk about for years to come! I’ve been to EYV a couple of times now and always with omnivores, so you don’t have to be a lifelong vegetarian like me to appreciate this beautiful, creative, thoughtful and seriously hearty, vegetable-forward food. Their awards bear that out, including being named one of the 26 Best Restaurants by Pittsburgh Magazine this year. On this occasion I was treated to the Chef’s Counter tasting experience ($150). It was awesome and I would recommend it to anyone who loves food as a special occasion experience, or just a special treat. A recap of what we ate: 🥦 Welcome Snacks: Broccoli “chicharrons,” hummus fritters, crispy new potatoes with seaweed caviar 🥗 Farmer’s Salad with ranch mousse, tater tot and pistachio 🫑 Charred Shishito Panzanella 🌽 Charred Corn Pierogi 🌱 Summer Squash Roulade 🍅 Tomato Parmesan 🥬 Cabbage Pastrami 🍫 Chocolate PB Mouse: Banana bread, pickled grapes, banana “bacon” 🍋 Tomato-Lemon Curd: basil ice cream, candied focaccia, strawberry Many things on the menu are already GF, but those that aren’t can be made that way. You can add on a wine pairing to the tasting menu for $60. We also tried all five of the mocktails from their mocktail menu, which I really appreciated! My runaway favorite was So Juicy with rosemary, lime, pineapple and grapefruit. Second favorite was The One With The Blueberries In It (no really, that’s the name). My guest and I both really love beets but found the beet mocktail to be a bit too intensely like straight beet juice, so might recommend passing on that one unless that’s what you’re looking for. Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented. You will not go home hungry from this tasting experience, and I’m so thankful that a restaurant like this exists in Pittsburgh to show what a talented chef can do with plant-based ingredients.

Great food. Questionable Hospitality. You won’t find better vegetarian food in Pittsburgh. My wife and I have dined here several times. I hope this past weekend was an anomaly. EYV normally has a small menu. (6 items total for 2nd and 3rd course). Saturday night had to be busy; they were out of half of those items for our late seating reservation. My wife was fine choosing from the limited menu to meet the required Pre Fixe selections. I would have loved to order some of the items that were sold out to also eat the Pre Fixe meal, but I asked if I could order a la carte instead. My server checked with manager, and they refused to accommodate unless we sat in the upstairs bar area. Not a huge deal, but c’mon. We had a fine meal at the bar, but it was totally unnecessary. The 2-top we vacated remained empty until the restaurant closed. Great restaurant experiences are where wonderful food and great hospitality meet. EYV only delivered half the experience during my last visit.

Really tasty and unique experience. You won't miss the meat at all to be honest. The apps were great, the broccoli chips were my personal favorite. The dessert was one of the most unique things I have ever tasted.

As a very vocal meat eater (and equally vocal veggie hater) I wasn’t sure what to expect when coming here to celebrate my pescatarian partners birthday. Man we’re we insanely impressed. The food was so good, we were already discussing coming back before we even finished the first course. The chef really transformed simple vegetables into something elevated and rich. I honestly forgot there was no meat or fish in our meal - and that’s a big deal for a meat snob like me! 😂 We’re already planning to come back. Our only regret was not reserving for the larger tasting menu (we did the three courses).

Oh my God , the Chef here pours so much love and care into every preparation. Everything SO scrupulously delicious. It’s hard to even pick my favorite items because they all held an amazing flavor profile. How is this my first time here? Anytime I travel to Pittsburgh, I will without a doubt be dining here! All glories to your amazing creations Chef.

Fig & Ash is a top-notch dining option that serves modern American and European-inspired cuisine in a serene setting, complete with a charming patio. It has become a go-to recommendation for many due to its exceptional meals and the opportunity to witness its journey from inception to establishment. Chef Cory Hughes leads the way in crafting farm-to-flame dishes with Italian and French influences, drawing visitors from beyond the neighborhood.
Exceptional service by the wait staff. Our server was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. The atmosphere was inviting and lively. The food was both unique and expertly crafted. The drinks were equally impressive, showcasing a thoughtful blend of creativity and precision. As out-of-town visitors, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed and will undoubtedly make it a point to return during our next trip to Pittsburgh.

I thought the service was excellent, and the drinks were just as impressive. My favorite dishes were the mid plate Spinach Ravioli and the large plate Halibut—both were outstanding. The small plate carrots were tender and flavorful. The Cajun Shrimp Dip (small plate) was just okay, and I wouldn’t order it again. I also didn’t care for the flavor of the sauce on the Airline Chicken, so I can’t recommend that dish. One area for improvement is the patio—while pleasant, it lacked music, which made other tables’ conversations very easy to hear. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience with several standout items.

This restaurant is not cheap, but boy is it worth it! My buddy and I had walked in the night before at 9:30pm and couldn't get a table since they close at 10, so we decided to go back earlier the next evening. It sure paid off! Our drinks were very well made, so 5-point for their mixology. I had a delicious and perfectly cooked-to-order flank steak, and hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert - best one I've ever had (although I had to order an extra scoop of ice cream to finish it up). Great service - quick and attentive. I wish I lived in Pittsburgh so I could come here more often.

So if you are familiar with my reviews, we are blessed to travel extensively to amazing places all over the world. Along the way, we are fortunate to dine in terrific properties. This weekend we are in Pittsburgh. We had a free evening and decided to take our son and his wife here for dinner. Nearly 3 hours later, we couldn’t have been happier with the fare, service, or hospitality. Terrific in every way. My bumper sticker for this restaurant is, ‘anything you can do, they can do better’. What I mean by that is if you think of common cuisine offerings like French Onion Soup, duck, carrots, crème brûlée…on and on…you have set ideas of how these dishes should be prepared. This chef puts a positive twist on everything we thought we knew about fairly common dishes. Amazing! Thoughtful! Delicious! The homemade pasta dish was unique and delicious. As was the duck, pork chop, romaine salad…everything. Wrap around that amazing service and genuine hospitality. If you are in Pittsburgh, you simply must eat here. Bravo Chef! Bravo!

One word: Divine Fig & Ash has everything, attentive staff, divine meals, and a wonderful atmosphere. I only wish I took a picture of the pork belly burnt ends as that stole the crown for the best dish I've had all year. Dishes in the photos are Bavetta Steak and Halibut, both exceptional.

Positive experience. The service was excellent. Food was overall great. My boyfriend's meatloaf was burnt on one side, bush was a bummer, but he still enjoyed most of it anyway. My risotto under the halibut was amazing. My cocktails were excellent.
Jade M — Google review
Staff is amazing. Food left so much to be desired. I’m so upset. Pasta cooked al dente, wonderful but Shape was all weird for the type of “sauce”, made it hard to eat. Carrots overcooked, no crunch in site for a September carrot. We didn’t understand the meatloaf. Horseradish on the cream sauce overpowered the flavor of the meatloaf. It needed a bright flavor but the horseradish wasn’t the answer.

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Fig and Ash, and it was nothing short of excellent. My wife is more than just an average home cook, that we hold restaurants to a high standard. We want our dining experience to check at least two of these boxes: excellent food, great service, appealing atmosphere, cleanliness and hygiene, or a unique culinary offering. Fig and Ash checked them all. Ambiance & Atmosphere: Tucked into Pittsburgh’s North Side, the space is thoughtfully designed—small but never cramped. The ambiance was warm and relaxed, with just the right level of buzz. It’s a great setting for date nights or intimate gatherings. Service: Our server, Beth, was phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu and the restaurant’s story. One of the owners also made the rounds, stopping by each table to connect with diners and answer any questions, which added a personal and memorable touch. Food & Drinks: The food was a standout. Their seasonal menu keeps things fresh and inventive. •    Heirloom Carrots stole the show: vacuum-sealed with garlic, sage, and honey, then fire-grilled and served over honey-whipped ricotta. A perfect blend of sweet, savory, and smoky. •    The creamy bone marrow was equally impressive, served with bacon and onion jam, grilled shishito peppers, orange-parsley salad, and grilled bread. Each element stood on its own but elevated the marrow in just the right way. •    The short rib & pork belly meatloaf and olive oil cake were solid, though not quite at the same level as the standouts. •    Cocktails were balanced and well-crafted—definitely worth ordering. Cleanliness & Layout: The space was impeccably clean, and though the restaurant is on the smaller side, the layout prevents it from feeling tight. Hygienic food handling was clearly a priority, which we always appreciate. Final Thoughts: Fig and Ash exceeded expectations. It’s the kind of place that makes dining out feel worth it. We’ll absolutely be returning—and recommending it to friends. It’s rare to find a restaurant that hits every note, but Fig and Ash does just that.

Kennywood is a historic amusement park located just a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh. It offers a mix of classic and modern rides, including famous wooden roller coasters and attractions for visitors of all ages. The park spans 150 acres along the Monongahela River and features over 45 rides, such as the thrilling Sky Rocket coaster and water rides like Pittsburg Plunge.
Old time charm sprinkled with some modern flair! There’s nothing like the feel of Kennywood. A park that’s been evolving since 1898 and counting. There’s truly something for any age or enthusiast. You have seemingly rides from today and every decade since, still in operation. There’s so many musts from the rides to the eats. My family has been going for generations!

Obviously a Pittsburgh classic, gotta visit at least once a year. The whole aesthetic of the park is excitement, and the potted flowers everywhere are beautiful. Always gotta stop to look at the gorgeous fountains. Everything seemed pretty good this year, safety wise. Saw security and medical quickly come for somebody who was overheated, while the ride operators let them sit and drink water. Very efficient and under control. My only complaints are 1) that souvenir cups are not sold at every restaurant in the park, and if you buy a soda in a regular cup, it does not come with a lid. That makes me pretty nervous in a large crowd of strangers. 2) The bathrooms are not as clean as they used to be. Had to pass up 3-4 stalks every time I went to pee because of mess, clogs, and stall doors that had no locks. Minor complaints, but worth noting with how the ticket price has raised lol. Please give us clean bathrooms.

I live about 2 and 1/2 hours away and I love going to Kennywood because there's a great sense of nostalgia even your first time going. I love the classic rides and the preservation that they have taken to keep these rides alive. Compared to other theme parks Kennywood seems very reasonably priced. The wait times are lower than some of the other ones and overall just a fun day. We'll definitely be going back.

Kennywood offers a really cool experience going through the park and seeing all of the different rides and vendors that they have. The rollercoasters are fun and we rode almost all of them when we went. The food at the cafe we went to was pretty good too. It is a great addition to Pittsburgh

Kennywood in Pittsburgh is a classic amusement park with a great mix of thrilling rides and nostalgic charm. It’s perfect for families, with exciting roller coasters like Phantom’s Revenge and fun attractions for kids too. The park is clean, and the food—especially the Potato Patch fries—is a must-try. Overall, a great place to spend the day full of fun and memories!

Park is well kept and most staff are friendly. Clearly over worked though. My main complaint is the ridiculous wait time for rides. Ended up having to purchased their speedy pass just to be able to get onto rides. Without it you’re not getting on rides because they're clearly prioritizing people who buy the passes. Which will be the down fall of the park no doubt.
Heather H — Google review
love this park so much super fun but i wish all the rides had the chest straps too. Not super busy when i went it was wet and rainy so lines were short. They did run out of rain coats i suggest bringing one since they don’t have a lot
Khloe W — Google review
Rides are mediocre. Only a few good rides like the steel curtain and black widow. Better for kids. The games are crap compared to what they were in the past. Food is so so. Nothing to phone home about. Don't go during fright nights. You can only bring in a hand purse or small gym bag. We paid $15 just to put our phones and keys in. 2/5 I wouldn't go again. If you have kids, it will be a better experience. But as adults, the nostalgia just doesn't justify the prices and lines.

The tour of the mansion definitely made history come alive. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and provided us with historical facts with such details that I felt like we traveled back in time and really gave me a deepened appreciation of what I am looking at. Also the car and carriage museum is free! Take the time to read the signs! There is also an old classic car you can sit and take pictures in. Unfortunately the museum was closed when we visited. The grounds itself is free and beautiful. Definitely put this on your list and plan for few hours here!

There is no road to drive inside the park There are only 3 picnic tables in a whole park. You need to have more groves. The trails should be marked. One time I got lost and there were no signs that give you direction to the entrance. There is a fence that is very close to the trail and there is not enough room to walk there.

The park boasts picturesque oak tree groves, winding pathways, and elegant memorials. Visitors can enjoy activities such as disc golf, picnicking, and ice skating at the rink.
Amazing park, everything is within walkable distance even though it looks like it's a huge park but once you're there, you would love to explore. Didn't find much elevation either. Definitely a must visit. Parking - park your car either across on Schenley Drive opposite Phipps Botanical garden (better location) OR across Anderson Playground. Some of the trails are not that great, so bring your most comfy shoes if going to trails. There are lots of benches to sit on near the fountain as well as near Phipps. There is an American restaurant called "The Porch" as well as an Ice cream/milkshake place and Omar's halal grill near the Catherdral of Learning.

Hidden Harbor in Pittsburgh is a hidden gem that offers a cozy and inviting ambiance, making it the perfect place to unwind with Polynesian-inspired cocktails and bar snacks. The maritime-themed paradise serves up an array of tropical juices, rums, and unique spirits in custom glassware. Whether you're into fruit-forward concoctions or spirit-forward creations, this tiki bar has something for everyone.
A must for any true tiki enthusiast. The cocktails are phenomenal, the food is fantastic, and the environment is immersive and fun. Andrea, the head bartender, takes pride in her work. You can't go wrong with anything here.

Absolutely gross. Sitting in the back of the bar felt like I was dropped into a fly convention. SO many FLIES buzzing around I couldn’t even enjoy my drink. On top of that, my server barely checked in and gave the bare minimum level of service. Disappointing all around.

As a tiki fan this spot was dope to check out. Great food options and a great variety of tiki beverages and even some n/a options. The mugs are sick and the swizzles are so fun, definitely check it out!

This place was amazing! Wanted to go for my birthday and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The food is a little pricey but is very good and all the extra stuff like the cups and mugs are so unique and cute! The atmosphere was amazing and service was great! And they offer great mocktails which is rare but awesome! Would def go again!

Be warned, Hidden Harbor will ruin most other Tiki bars for you! Seriously, Pittsburgh is lucky to have this "mender of broken dreams." The drinks may be expensive, but they're expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and tons of rums. I highly recommend a Mai Tai with their house-made orgeat. Atmosphere and food are also incredible. Pro Tip: If it's your birthday, don't be shy about mentioning it. You'll get an off-menu surprise!

Amazing drinks and atmosphere! We came after dinner with a group of friends to get a drink. The cocktails all come with very special presentation, the menu shows which glass they come with and how strong they are and I even got the small details as a small plastic lizard on my drink !! Staff were super nice and although the place was busy we could get a seat for 6 people. Drinks are in a pricey side ( think of on average $16 ) but in my opinion totally worth the nice presentation and lively vibe ! Great place for a date also as you can for sure have a conversation and it’s not too loud. The only reason I give 4 ( and only my personal opinion) is adding automatically 20% gratuity to the bills. While I almost always always (!) pay the 20% regardless, I think customers should have the choice to pay less if they found the service not good, or pay a little less then 20% based on their situation. Overall, very cool place and I can’t wait to visit again and try more drinks and foods also this time :)
Rana Z — Google review
Awesome bar! As a tiki enthusiast, I found that the drinks are spectacular: well balanced and varied. The Ride or Die was phenomenal. Garnishes and mugs on point. In addition to delightful alcoholic options, they had a few NA options as well; all three that we tried were amazing. We grabbed a few food items and they were delicious as well. All the servers were so nice, environment was clean and pleasant. Just overall a lovely evening; wish I lived closer! (Visited while traveling out of town)

I saw this place on a friend's post and had to try for myself! Excellent decision - the drinks were fun and the atmosphere elevated the whole experience. African Eats Cuisine, located in Squirrel Hill, offers a delightful exploration of Nigerian flavors. The restaurant, opened by Saudat Lawal in February, presents a rich variety of textures and tastes. One standout dish is the fresh fish pepper soup, a flavorful and aromatic fish broth featuring juicy seabass. The friendly wait staff are eager to assist patrons unfamiliar with African cuisine, providing guidance on menu selections and sharing cultural insights on food consumption practices.
Omgness! Everything we ordered was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu, even offered a sample of the soups. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu. I also recommend the jungle juice, you can get it with or without alcohol. I will definitely be back soon 🙂

This was my first time eating African food, and I was extremely excited. I had been hearing about this restaurant for a while, and wanted to try it. It’s located in the popular murray avenue in Squirrel hill, surrounded by many other restaurants. I’ll cover the food later, but I have to begin by saying that the service was dismal. When we went for lunch around noon, there was nobody when we entered the restaurant and we had to shout to see if anybody was around to help us get seated. Our server was the least responsive server I have ever encountered, and it almost looked like he was unhappy to be there. No smiles, no greetings. Anyway, we sat down and ordered our food. Since we were trying this for the very first time, we wanted to be safe and went with safer options as suggested by our friend. When he returned back with the food, there were no plates. We had to explicitly ask for plates, and then he returned with just one plate for both of us, and we had to ask for another one. The whole thing was bizarre. When we got done with food, we then had to shout again to see if he would bring our check. I don’t know if they’re understaffed, but this is not how you treat a customers specially in a dine in setting. The only saving grace was towards the end of the meal when a gentleman who I assume to be, the owner came and had conversation with us about the food and recommended us some food to try the next time. He seemed really nice and was welcoming. He also did not charges any tip, which I’m not sure, is the norm at that restaurant or why he did that. Now coming to the food itself, it was pretty tasty. We had the jollof rice which was pretty flavourful. He also had the efiroro which seem to be a type of spinach stew. Honestly, that was super unique, and I have never tasted anything like it. Again, I’m not in a position to tell if it was authentic, but it was still quite tasty, nevertheless. I guess African food is an acquired taste and I guess it’ll take me a while to get used to all the flavours. Overall, I can recommend this place if you want to try new cuisine but I would avoid dine in and just to take out.

The food was okay, tore mine and my friends stomachs up though, so it probably wasn’t made to order … and our waiter brought out dirty glasses, I’ll add pictures, of water with no ice. Then another table comes in they get completely different glasses that were clean I’ll add the pictures for proof, and they had ice in them. I will say he gave us samples of the food so we could choose what we wanted first but that was unacceptable and the bathroom was very dirty…

I recently had a disappointing experience with this African restaurant that left much to be disgusted. To start, the food was excessively greasy—imagine eating fried rice that tasted like a concoction of mismatched ingredients thrown together with no flavor balance. The meat portions were unbelievably small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. Worse still, the wait time was horrendous; I waited for what felt like an eternity, only to receive food that looked like leftovers from the day before. To add to the frustration, when I ordered online, they didn’t even bother to call and inform me of changes to my order. It was a complete surprise when I received my order was an insult.. My experience here made me long for the African restaurants in (Africana restaurant)Queens,New York, where in less than five minutes, you’d have your food, and it would be fresh, flavorful, and served with care. Sadly, this place was the total opposite, and I can’t see myself returning anytime soon.the worst African restaurant ever in Pittsburgh. Just go there and waste your money

Dirty, ordered about $30 worth of food, got charged $70 There's a lot of things to complain about but I'll focus on the two biggest problems, the dirtiness and overcharging. We were seated at a booth that still had napkins and straw covers from a previous customer, along with some disgustingly dirty menus. I thought the waiter/owner would offer to clean it up quickly, but he started bringing out what seemed to be samples of food (the first were tiny dishes of stews) and setting them on top of the mess (see picture), even before we had a chance to examine the menu and order. Which leads to the big problem- he kept bringing little plates of food out and insisted we try them and tell him what we thought- I thought this was leading to a suggestion of what we should order, but it turns out he charged us for all these things that we didn't order! Fufu, $5.99, Dundu $14.99 and Dodo Stir Fry $12.99. (We did order Jollof with "2 [rock hard dried out] pieces" of beef, and Eforiro). That brought our total bill for lunch up to $70! When I complained to him that we didn't order these things, he said "I had to bring them out because she [pointing to my wife] is vegetarian", which makes no sense, since we told him when we sat down that she was probably going to order the vegetable stew. He refused to take them off the bill. The Dundu (fried plantain) and Dodo (fried yams) stir fry were nothing special by the way. No seasoning and kind of cold like they had come out of the fryer a while ago. (That's the $12.99 Dodo stir fry in the photo, sitting on top of the dirty menus).

So I went there I asked for oxtails and rice. He said the rice was not done yet so I said can you substitute the white rice for jollof rice so he just gives me Joel off rice and two pieces of beef so I had to return my order because I asked for oxtails and rice And this is what I get
Amelia B — Google review
When I tell you my oxtail was so tough o think they cooked it for less than 5 minutes they literally don’t care I can’t even eat this tough oxtail they didn’t care to trim to fat off and you literally only get 3 pieces lol this is literally the worst African food in the world lol the rice is piled high but I get 3 oxtail? The gravy looks weird to and don’t order the Suya they only give you a few pieces of chopped up steak ! I like to support my people but yall have to do better I will never be back i literally neverrrr got served hard oxtail it’s super easy how did they mess it up? They literally can care less

Decent food. I've only tried a few African spots in Pittsburgh, and this has been on the less delicious side. Still, it was very decent food. And, many of the food items were unique, so it's nice to have spots like this in the area. I ordered the beef meat pie, puff puff (3 of them), and akara bean 'cake.' My favorite of the items were the delicious puff puffs. If you want a nice, chewy, donut-like snack, then this is the food for you. It was not too oily and very cheap, at a dollar for each of the dough balls. The inside as fluffy. Not too flavorful. I would have enjoyed it more with a dusting of sugar; then, it would serve as a nice dessert. The Akara was interesting. It seemed to have little bits of vegetables included within this bean cake. I was surprised by the level of spice and flavor included in this small patty. It was on the greasier side as well, but also quite inexpensive at just $1.50. Finally, the meat pie was not very good. It was thick in breading and extremely dry. Not just the breading was dry, but the meat itself was as well. It was not very flavorful but did have a little bit of vegetables included as well. Small portion size for the price. All in all, I was not the biggest fan of the food. The portions were quite food and dry, and the flavors were not particularly good. I have not tried many African foods, but there are much better places in Pittsburgh. Definitely try Fabs, it's got similar food but much better quality.

Mediterranean restaurant
Casbah is a modern Mediterranean eatery and wine bar located in the Shadyside neighborhood. The restaurant offers an elegant dining experience with a mix of Art Deco flair and colorful lights, as well as a patio for outdoor seating. The ambiance is described as intimate and comfortable, with options for both open, warm spaces on the first floor and more secluded dining areas in the renovated lower level.
We ordered calamari, lobster pasta, and roast duck and simply calamari was our favorite one. They have a slightly unique calamari where each pieces are super fresh. The sauce was a bit creamy but still serve a great taste on the overall. Lobster pasta was okay in my opinion but i definitely still worth to try. No complaint for service and atmosphere, great place to try

First time visiting Casbah but it came recommended by some friends. Took my partner here for a celebratory dinner and it didn’t disappoint. We sat on the covered patio which was beautiful. Our server was extremely attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. She even knew all the farms where the food was sourced locally! The artichoke was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The chicken was the same, cooked perfectly and had great flavor. There isn’t anything about this place other meals that’s trendy or edgy, but you will get wholesome, perfectly cooked food with a ton of flavor and an intention to give people a top notch dining experience. I will definitely be back and will recommend to others.

Visited for brunch today and it was lovely. They do a prix fixe menu at brunch for $38 that includes a brunch cocktail, a first course, and an entree. I had the seasonal pear mimosa that was delicious. For first course, we shared the beet salad and the smoked salmon. Salad was tasty and loaded with beets. The smoked salmon was a generous portion topped with all the accouterments and a potato cake, which could’ve been a bit more seasoned. For entrees, we had the braised lamb and the ricotta cavatelli, both tasty! I also had a house G&T which they are amaro to, would order again.

Decided to celebrate our 11th anniversary at a place we hadn't been before - Casbah. We were seated downstairs which was cozy and intimate. Our server was very attentive and the pace of the meal was perfect. We had a hard time narrowing down our food choices, but I think we made some excellent picks. Started off with the crispy calamari and rock shrimp, roasted beet salad, and grilled artichokes. For our mains, my husband ordered the red pepper casereccia with scallops while I opted for the Scottish salmon with lentils and green beans. Everything was so delicious, and we managed to eat it all! Despite being completely full from our meal, our server brought us salted caramels which was a nice surprise. Thanks for a wonderful evening, Casbah!

It's got some aspects right for a restaurant at this price range, like the complimentary sourdough bread and fresh butter was really good. Main course of long Island Duck lookes great from all the reviews, but I felt it could have been executed better. Duck leg was cooked well and easily falling from the bone, but taste wise it's not very rich. The small cherries were bland, if they were more tart it could have balanced the dish much better. Duck breast was medium rare which I like, however the fat on the skin was barely rendered and not that crispy. The dish came with minimal sauce and was quite dry until I asked for extra sauce. Gnocchi just didn't taste like real ones at all, it tasted nothing like any Gnocchi I've had at all Italian restaurants I've been in my life. I left most of them... A big stressful point for me at the end was they don't accept contactless payment, physical card only... I only had my phone with me and I felt so embarrassed. However they let me called back with card numbers to pay after so it's sorted, but it was a pretty unfortunate end to an evening.

Another incredible meal at Casbah. Every dish was executed beautifully, and the flavors were spot on. We started with the Crispy Calamari and Rock Shrimp—light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The mix of textures from the calamari and shrimp kept each bite interesting, and the creamy sauce underneath added a rich, tangy contrast. For my entrée, I went with the Long Island Duck, and it was outstanding. The duck breast was perfectly medium-rare with a beautiful sear, and the confit leg was rich and fall-off-the-bone tender. Paired with fresh greens and gnocchi, it struck a perfect balance of hearty and fresh. Across the table, my fiance ordered the Saffron Pappardelle and it was equally impressive. The house-made pasta was tender yet toothsome, and the saffron brought a subtle earthiness to the dish. The additions of seafood, fresh herbs, and a delicate sauce tied everything together for a dish that was rich without being heavy. Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance was the perfect blend of upscale yet relaxed.

I’m a frequent of this place and every single time everything is wonderful. I decided to leave a review today because the girl at the bar, Lexi, makes me love Casbah even more! She has always been so kind to me and talking to her is just therapeutic. I will always go straight to the bar if she is there. Please treat and pay her well. I will come here more.

Long time eater. First time poster of a review at Casbah. Let’s just say the tradition continues. It lives up to the hype. Service. Decor. Food. Drinks. Top notch from beginning to end. The sourdough was 😘 👌🏽! We split the Red Pepper Muhummara with grilled chickpea flatbread which was absolutely fantastic. Wifey got the Short Rib Ravioli. I got the Orecchiette with Goat Rodeo chèvre. Just delicious. Sangria and Cosmos FTW! Too full for dessert. Maybe next time! #ThanksCasbah

Day 3

Proximity is everything
For day 3, we bundled attractions like Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium and The Church Brew Works and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 8 hours.

Aquarium
The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is a sprawling 77-acre animal center located in Highland Park. It houses over 400 species, including 22 that are critically endangered. The zoo features various habitats such as the African Savannah, Asian Forest, and Bear Park. Additionally, the PPG Aquarium showcases diverse ecosystems from tropical to arctic regions. The institution offers educational programs and conservation projects aimed at fostering connections between animals and people.
If you end up spending over 5 hours on your first visit here, you know it was a good time. What i loved most was how well the enclosures were made in natural environments. It was like walking through nature while stopping to view a variety of animals. Kyle really enjoyed everything as well. The layout is really well thought out. A couple minor drawbacks were highly congested areas that just didn't have much viewing area for the crowd mass. It was busy and very congested in a few areas. We also waited 30 minutes for a pizza order. Otherwise overall great visit, well worth the price of admission.

Staff is nice. So much is closed or under construction. This is pretty small for what they charge. The now have reciprocity with other zoos. A few years ago the lost their accreditation. Tigers, lions, elephants are there right at the beginning. The aquarium is nice but not amazing.

It was my first time there. I have been hearing a lot about this place from my daughter who has been living out here for many years. She always wanted to get me there and she and her fiance got me there. I absolutely loved it. We spent the entire day there just immersed in the fish and animals. Even though there was construction going on, it was still a very special day. I learned some interesting things about some of the animals which was a true benefit. The place is exciting, busy and well worth going.

Great size zoo with lots of animals to see, as well as kid-friendly things like play areas. It is quite hilly (it is Pittsburgh after all!) but scenic and a good way to spend a family day. The food is ok, actually has more options than many zoos I've been to. We ate at the Jambo Grill. There was a bit of a wait for food, but it was tasty enough and we LOVED sitting outside and watching the giraffe and zebras as we ate.
Gabrielle L — Google review
I felt so disappointed with my recent and first time visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium last Saturday. There was an event going on, "Zoo Boo" or something like that, so obviously there were lots of people and kids. There was some parts under construction, too. I wish there were more staff wandering around as it looked chaotic with the people walking everywhere. There were less animals that were out and it makes me really sad. I hope they are all okay though. Location wise, it was super crowded in the parking area that some people even parked in the grassy field. There weren't a lot of signs and directions so it can be a little disorienting navigating the whole zoo. Now I don't know if it were just the time of the year, but there weren't a lot of animals around and outside when we visited. Shocking to realize there were no bears in sight at all. Nice to see some tigers, lions, cheetahs and others, though. The souvenir shops were nice and well stocked. Just a bit pricey. They sell animal stuffed toys that are not even in this zoo. 🥲 Anyway, I'd still come back here im the future, and enjoy the area. Hopefully I will be able to change this review and give it 5 stars.
Thea — Google review
It's a really nice zoo. I would have given it more stars but quite a few exhibits were closed. Still had to pay full price and they closed at 4pm, which made it feel like you had to rush through the zoo.
Kelly C — Google review
Attended the 2025 Jack-o'-lantern Extravaganza. There was a train and carousel ride, and what felt like billions of jack-o'-lanterns. Also consumed a spiked hot apple cider, and let me tell you... Definitely helped keep my hands and throat warm during the walk through. Overall, it was a decent evening. Didn't get to see any animals (after dark). The Pittsburgh zoo is always on my recommended list!
Michael D — Google review
It was an amazing place! My daughters and I had a blast. The only reason for 4 stars is the fact the most of the monkey and bear exhibits were empty. For the price I paid I wanted to see more animals and less empty exhibits

The Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh is a unique establishment housed in a former church, offering a blend of house-brewed beers and delectable food. The building's history adds to the charm as visitors enjoy traditional pierogies alongside unconventional options like Buffalo Chicken pierogies. This microbrewery takes pride in crafting handcrafted beer using top-quality ingredients, with four award-winning house beers brewed on site along with two ales and two lagers.
Great choices for both food and drinks! Cool combinations, highly recommend German Mac n cheese, and the Pulled pork sandwich. Mexicali was a great beer choice, also. Beautiful old church setting with gorgeous stained glass and free parking.

This was my husband's pick for dinner tonight. He's a big beer expert, having tasted over 1,200 different beers in about 9 countries, so he wanted to sample the beers here. First impression, the space is fantastic and I love the restoration. Service was also very good! From the beer expert - the porter was not as smooth and velvety as he expected and because of the high alcohol content, the flavour was off. The IPA got good marks though. The food was good, but not great. Overall a decent place to come especially for the atmosphere.
Kat S — Google review
This was our very last stop of our trip and was unexpected. I got a last minute text from a friend saying we couldnt miss this and I agree! The building is stunning. They did a wonderful job maintaining the gorgeous architecture but turning into something more positive and useful. The food was some of the best we had on the trip. Ill dream about that beer cheese. We had the Mexicali Blues and it was light snd fabulous. Waitstaff was wonderful. Theres a gift shop. Prices are great.

I was excited to try out this restaurant based on it use to be a church. The fact that they saved a church from being torn down by turning into a restaurant was a great idea. There were many items that caught my attention. I ordered prickly pear iced tea with the Jagerschnitzel. I should’ve ordered the vegan spaghetti. I was not completely happy with my choice. The cook was very heavy with the salt on the potatoes, I don’t like a lot of salt. The Jagerschnitzel did not have consistency. The first couple bites was really good tasting with the mushroom sauce. After the first few bites, it tasted like regular gravy on top and was not as good. The waitress was nice.

Amazing brewery inside a former church! It's perfectly repurposed and so much fun. Service is excellent, food is superb (French onion soup is a must have!) and the beer, oh my, so great. We ended up buying a big can of the Oktoberfest beer. The can itself makes a wonderful souvenir.

Amazing venue in this old deconsecrated Catholic Church. Beer is very good but selection is a little light. Oktoberfest beer is top notch. That have 2 liter to go cans that are a great deal. Food is very good and what sets this place apart from other microbrews even more so than the beer.

Great German Inspired cuisine and brews for Oktoberfest. The Bavarian Wings were a fantastic appetizer and highly recommend.... The hint of mustard kicks them up a notch. Forewarned they are messy!!! Definitely was unexpected little find for us and had to check out a brewery in a church. 'Cause when else are you going to be able to drink in a church and not get in trouble for it?!?!?

Lafty of 3, ordered: shrimp grits, buffalo chicken perogie saute, and Jagerschnitzel. And beer of course! Oh also malt bread pudding! Grits was a bit on the saltier side but was good w beer. Perogies were flavorful but our favorite was the jagerschnitzel. The atmosphere is unique and service was okay, bit slow - i guess the waitor had a lot of space to cover. It's pricy compared to other local places but a must go to experience something unique in Pittsburgh! =)

Nestled along the picturesque banks of the Monongahela River, SouthSide Works is a vibrant retail and entertainment hub that beautifully blends shopping, dining, and leisure. Once a bustling steel mill site, this complex now boasts an impressive 10-screen cinema alongside trendy fashion boutiques and unique souvenir shops. What sets SouthSide Works apart is its inviting atmosphere for pet lovers; many outdoor areas and select stores welcome furry friends, making it easy to enjoy a day out with your pet in tow.
A Pittsburgh favorite to visit with family and friends. There are a lots of food options and the outdoor space is a great place to unwind. Close to Carson but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. I enjoy the Cheese Cake factory for a nice dinner. Pizza on Broadway has a great happy hour option for a quick bite and the Jeni's ice cream is a must visit for a awesome treat.

Amazing German cuisine and atmosphere. Well worth stopping in more than once. The food is outstanding, the beer is plentiful and the music was great! I absolutely loved the experience. I love the large tables that are side by side throughout. They also offer outdoor seating as well for some great views. Fantastic place. Really we were in Pins Mechanical. This is a really fun arcade with retro video games, large slides to go down, a small bowling area, bars, TV's kids games and more. There are lots of interesting restaurants around the streets as well as Jeni's ice-cream next door. A small grassy park dots the outdoors by the Cheesecake factory outdoor pizza places and Mexican food trucks can be found there as well. Antique car shows as well as summer concerts are common in the summer.

Not my bag. Not enough parking at all. There is a parking garage but it isn't central enough. I dont know, maybe I missed more parking. There was a road closed for an event and people were everywhere. It was too stressful, so we left before we killed a pedestrian or got hit by other frantic traffic. No thanks.

SouthSide Works contains office spaces, a town square, restaurants, retail stores, a sports court, a dog park, riverfront parks and trails, and parking. I visit this area mostly for the restaurants. The parking garages can have high fees, but I have had no problems with any of the businesses.

Randyland is a vibrant and eclectic landmark building in Pittsburgh, created by folk artist Randy Gilson. The house is adorned with vividly colored murals, upbeat artifacts, and an array of quirky objects. Located in the Mexican War Streets neighborhood, this psychedelic dream has transformed the area into a colorful spectacle. It functions as a home, garden, and artists' space decorated with pink flamingos, mannequins, lawn furniture, banana plants, and plastic dinosaurs.
I always enjoy myself at Randyland. Second stop. It’s free. I find it to be a happy place with stimulating colors. It gives me a dose of creativity. It’s an open air space between 3 buildings that is decorated and painted to the max. I always wonder how many gallons of paint has gone into Randy’s creation.

Yeah. Every interesting place. My favorite was the two "one way" street signs outside. I also guess my assumption of art is very different from Randy's. This place does bring much needed color to a colorless street. It was an entertaining visit.

Excellent meal with friends. Had a drink at the bar first and closed out our tab with her. Then moved to the table. Great atmosphere, very elegant. Amazing prices. I had gone to Senti a few months before and the food had been delicious. However, when I went again a few weeks ago, the food was bland and did not taste like anything. This included both entrees and one of the appetizers (the second appetizer was too salty and ironically was the only thing with flavor). The service was incredible and everyone was really nice, but I was really disappointed with the food itself, especially considering its price

Coming back for the pasta - wish I had ordered more! Still one of my favorites over the last few years. Bread - I appreciate the flaky sea salt. It did not come with olive oil. Polpette - 6 meatballs with good texture. Enough marinara for your bread. Agnolotti - Wonderfully handmade pasta. We shared, but I wish I hadn’t. The best sausage-like filling and velvety chicken broth sauce. Costoletta d’Agnello - Perfectly medium rare lamb chops with the right amount of seasoning. Foam was a little flat, but the dijon mustard sauce goes will with everything on the plate. The duck was not on the menu, so this was my second choice. Tiramisu - Classic and beautiful. Required. Spiced Almond Oil Cake - Balanced almond flavors with great texture. I appreciate the house made whipped cream. I usually don’t like cake, but I would eat this again.

Wonderful ambiance, food, wine selection and staff. Love that we were greeted by the owner upon arrival. The restaurant has a very intimate feel. Top notch food and service! Will definitely be returning.

We loved the appetizers. Prosciutto e Melone and Arancini Cacio & Pepe are first tried and they are delicious. Lasagna is classic and signature. A bit disappointed with the Fettuccine con Granchio, which's the most expensive one on the menu. Personally thought it's felt much oiled and imbalanced though it tried to use the olive oil to balance the a little dried fettucine. The crab was not perfectly fresh but ok. Personally it may feel better with a bit cream, less oil, and softer fettucine. Overall this is a worth trying restaurant with a good environment for date and other special occasions.

Best gnocchi I have ever had outside of Italy!!! Amazing texture and combined with an amazing combination of flavors in their rotating gnocchi special. This was a pork belly combo in a butter based sauce. We had the meatballs, arugula salad, and steak appetizers which were all delicious as well. Focaccia was incredibly light and fluffy. Will definitely be back, especially to try some desserts!

Poulet Bleu, a French-style bistro located in Lawrenceville, offers a stylish setting with classic dishes like steak frites and soufflés. The bar at Poulet Bleu stands out for its comfortable and transportive ambiance, influenced by tiki and antebellum styles. The rum-focused cocktail menu features drinks such as the Jungle Bird and Queens Park Swizzle.
Wow! My wife and I were in town for our 20th Anniversary and made reservations here hoping for a decent restaurant. However what we got was nothing short of amazing! Seriously this is what fine dining should always be, with so many wannabes especially in Columbus, OH where we live, I'm looking at you Cameron Mitchell. Poulet Bleu's interior has a beautiful french polynesian vibe. The food is spectacular and the service was friendly, attentive and unpretentious. I had the duck, very well cooked and served with hericot verts and a delicious sour cherry sauce. My wife had the filet with cognac pepper sauce and perfect fries (seriously perfect). Filet was so well done and sauce was complimentary without being overpowering. Also had local cheese plate that was terrific. The improved Whiskey Cocktail was truly delicious and balanced. For dessert it was the Hazelnut Souffle, beautifully cooked and presented, just enough sweetness and paired with ice cream and cherry sauce. Just fabulous. We style ourselves as minor food critics and this was just an fantastic experience. Thank you Poulet Bleu!

Thrilled Poulet Bleu is back! I was skeptical about the updated space and menu but can happily report that it is better than ever. The menu continues to offer modern, French inspired dishes, quality cocktails, and a hearty wine list. Not to mention, the updated space is beautiful. Special shout outs to Logan, Mark, Lindsey, and Kate for ensuring our dining experience was exceptional from the moment we walked in.

This was such a memorable meal - one that I want to keep reliving over and over. As they have just re-opened, it can be quite challenging to get a reservation. Luckily, we were able to snag a spot that someone had cancelled the night before. What a beautiful space! They did such an amazing job with the renovation. The front patio area is now enclosed and all-seasons, reminiscent of a French bistro. The interior is simply stunning. We sat towards the back with a front row seat to the kitchen, where everything was running (seemingly) smoothly despite how busy it was on a Friday night. We started with drinks - a French 75 and a Turf Club martini. Next up were our apps - baguette with cultured butter, a bistro salad, and French onion soup. For our mains, I ordered the steak frites with filet mignon and bearnaise sauce while my husband went with the roasted duck. Added a side of roasted carrots. And for dessert, we had to get the soufflé. It seemed to be the most popular dish of the evening, and rightfully so. Light but indulgent, served with cherry confit, ice cream, and anglaise. Every bite was absolutely delicious and well-presented. I could go on and on, but you truly have to try it for yourself. We can’t wait to go back!

Perfect dinner, excellent service, delicious food, and lovely, tasteful decor. We made reservations and chose the table in front of the open kitchen. It was nice to see how seamlessly everything was paced and balanced. All the meals were executed flawlessly, everything was organized, clean, efficient, and precise. The portions are large and ample and filling. The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly but not overbearing. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and I was impressed with the pacing...we never felt rushed. We sat to the right of the kitchen and never felt crowded or disruptive or displaced, it was pretty interesting to watch. This was by far one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had to date in Pittsburgh. With or without the wine pairing (we chose cocktails) the food was exceptionally delicious. What an enjoyable and satisfying evening. Do NOT skip dessert!!!

Such an incredible and memorable experience. Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Food was phenomenal and staff goes above and beyond. We had the steak frites, gnocchi, bistro salad, baguette, and chocolate souffle. Every item was unique and so delicious, I'll be thinking about this one until I get to come back!!

It was absolutely fantastic, and that all started with our server Dustin. He was fantastic and spent a lot of time answering any questions we had. Our appetizers, the Escargot and the Beef Tartare, were both fantastic. Then for entrees we had the duck and the salmon, both incredible as well, with the roasted carrots on the side. We finished with the soufflé. Everything was incredible and I really can't recommend this place enough for a special occasion.

This was our first time at Poulet Bleu and overall it was an incredible experience. To start, it's not widely advertised, but this is a BYOB establishment - their cork fee is high at $20, however in the same turn their cheapest bottle of wine is $65 so it was a no brainer to bring our own. We chose to sample all of their small plates, opposed to getting entrees, and started with the french onion soup that was highly recommended. They split into 2 for us as it's a large portion. It was phenomenal!!!! We also had the escargot, mussels, and steak tartare paired with the sides of carrots and potatoes aligot. Everything was out of this world and would 100% go back again. It is a pricey restaurant, but worth every penny, especially for a special occasion.

The food, service and atmosphere at this restaurant are among the best I have experienced so far. Food was FIVE STAR, service is excellent and restaurant looks very nice, clean and well designed and operated. It was a busy evening we sat at the bar and everything we order was fantastic. We start with Steak tartare, bistro salad, tuna carpaccio and roasted Duck and finished with Chocolate Soufflé to die for it.

Thai Me Up is a bustling and rustic-chic BYOB restaurant located on 23rd St. in Southside Flats, Pittsburgh. It offers a mix of traditional and modern Thai cuisine at affordable prices with generous portions. The comfortable seating and ample parking make it a convenient dining option. Customers praise the friendly staff, fresh and tasty food, as well as the option to bring their own beverages.
Absoutley AMAZING! Food is delicious & FRESH. Won ton soup is so flavorful and truly to die for, as well as garlic chicken & their fried rice is delicious! Very nice vibe inside & staff was extremely friendly. New favorite place!!

Thai Me Up restaurant offers a very good variety of appetizers, salads, soups, fried rices, noodles, curries, main courses, beverages, etcetera. For my husband's and my lunch, the employees served us very well. We recommend the crab rangoon, wontons, green curry, and bubble teas. However, my husband said that the pad Thai tasted too sweet.

Our favorite Thai place in Pittsburgh - I miss living around the corner from this spot. Has a kick even at the lowest spice levels if you're a spice weenie like me, but it's worth it. We got the Khao soi and pumpkin curry this time around but I don't think I've ever disliked something off their menu.

This was our favorite Thai spot when we lived in Pittsburgh so when visiting this week we had to stop back in- still great Quick service, tasty food It is relatively small inside (~10 tables) I feel like it was bigger last time we were here) there is a small market next to it. Street parking $6 BYOB corking fee What we ate: Pad Thai Tofu Garlic Chicken

Nice Thai restaurant with a lot of the classic dishes and a few interesting items. The area is near Carson street on the South Side and the spot isn’t too too packed typically. I got to try out their pad se ew (Pad Z-U) noodles and the sticky rice with taro as a dessert. The pad Z-U was quite well done. They include a nice portion of noodles and an adequate amount of both vegetables and protein. They cooked everything to perfection, especially that delicious tofu. I always like the noodles to be saucy, and this place does a pretty good job at that! The dessert was unique and I’m very glad I got to try it. The taro is quite earthy so it probably isn’t to everyone’s taste but I enjoyed it. Nicely cooked rice, and little beans (I think?) as well as some sweet white syrup. Would recommend trying! All in all, I really liked this place. Good noodles and nice, unique desserts. Fair prices and portions as well.

Wise County Biscuits & Cafe is a charming spot in Pittsburgh that aims to bring Appalachian food to the forefront. The Sallies Snack, a fluffy biscuit filled with fried egg, pimento cheese, and Southern-style Chow Chow, is a standout item on their menu. The cafe has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and homey decor. Guests can expect delicious biscuits that are flaky and buttery, along with incredible Johnny cakes and flavorful collard greens.
So delicious. Every detail was well thought out. Biscuits were crisp outside. Soft delicate inside. Flavor on the chicken was just so addictive. Yogurt parfait was fresh And granola was crispy. Yogurt was tangy great texture combination. Walnut pancake was delicious. Walnut crisp. Syrup was just right. Not so overpowering. We talked to different people, and everyone was so excited and had raving review of everything they had.

First time here after it was recommended by some friends who love it. Situated on a quiet street in Pittsburghs North Side surrounded by brownstones, parking can be a little tricky. Grab a menu, wait in short line, and order dine in or to go. A nice Lunch and Breakfast menu, but we came for the Sausage Biscuits and Gravy which did not disappoint. The homemade star of the show Biscuits were perfect. The Sausage gravy was a little on the sweeter side but the added Egg is a nice touch. The potatoes were spiced wedges and very tasty. Fried Chicken biscuit was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the outside..ask for a little extra honey, or add some Crystals Hot Sauce for some spice. For a sweet treat we added the Cinnamon Sugar Bites, so good. We'll be back to try more of the menu! Worth the trip!.

Walking into Wise County Biscuits feels like stumbling upon a little piece of Southern comfort right in Pittsburgh. My friend and I went for breakfast the other day, and we were blown away. The biscuits are everything you want them to be—warm, flaky, and full of buttery goodness. Paired with their fantastic coffee, it made for the perfect start to the morning. What I love most is the menu—it’s not just your standard breakfast lineup. Each dish has its own unique twist, with plenty of Southern charm that makes the whole experience memorable. It’s the kind of place where you immediately start planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal. Wise County Biscuits has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city, and I can’t wait to go back and try more!

The food here is amazing! Perfectly cooked fried chicken. Grits like them make them in Georgia. Fluffy biscuits. Crunchy and perfectly cooked potatoes. Blueberry scones possibly the best i’ve ever tried. Service is on-point! Wasn’t a fan of their coffee, but will definitely return. Update oct 2025: returned and it’s still amazing! Best fried chicken and scones!!

Holy mother of biscuits! I didn’t realize Pittsburgh was in the south?! On our last morning in town before leaving, we decided to come to Wise County Biscuits for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. After placing our order at the counter, we took a seat at a table and waited for our meal. To start, we shared the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites; think biscuit meets churro meets cinnamon sugar doughnut. They were the perfect sweet little appetizer we needed. For my dish, I could not resist the classic biscuits and gravy. To wash it all down I had an iced vanilla coffee. Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum! The biscuits were buttery and flaky without being dense. The gravy had great flavor and it could not have been a more perfect meal. f you are craving some stick to your ribs, delicious breakfast food, this spot needs to be number one on your list.

Southern country cookin in Pittsburgh and it's amazing even by NC standards? Are you kidding me? Outstanding food And customer service, Wise lives up to it's ratings. Well earned and deserved! Short walk to the stadium. Small dining area but the staff expertly gets folks in and out and separates eat in from take out. Don't let the line outside discourage you. It is well worth the wait and the line moves faster than expected.

All around stellar place. Morning light bathes you as you enjoy home cooked breakfast. We were impressed by the extra attention to quality and detail. I've never found greens on a breakfast menu but they were amazing. Of course biscuits were fantastic. Everything had a lot of flavor. Friendly staff, light and charming vibes and we'll priced. This is an anchor of the neighborhood.

Great breakfast spot with a focus on biscuits. The wait time was about 45-60 mins before we could order (on a holiday Monday). Food was exceptional, the hash special with chimichurri was one of the best breakfasts I’ve personally had. All other items did not disappoint. Really impressed with the size of the iced coffee as well. Can’t wait to go back and try other items! Very clean bathrooms as well.

Acrisure Stadium, formerly known as Heinz Field, is a 68,000-seat steel stadium located in Pittsburgh. It serves as the home ground for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers football teams. Whether you're a dedicated fan or just there for the vibrant atmosphere and classic concession snacks, attending a game at this iconic venue is an experience not to be missed.
Stadium Tour: Incredibly well organized and worth the nominal fee charged for this privileged experience. Ran on time, used all 90 minutes promised, received so much history and learned about the NFL’s growth in technology too. Amazing to be in the locker rooms and being able to walk on the field; Steelers Nation’s hallowed ground. Jim was a phenomenal, passionate, patient tour host who had the perfect balance of knowledge, humor and the ability to keep all age groups/physical capabilities engaged. Without exaggeration, it was perfect!

Sunday 10/12/2025 Steelers Acrisure stadium I took my daughter to her first NFL game! We are loyal Steelers fans! I’ve noticed a lot of settle changes in the remodels that they have done from the changeover from Heinz Field prior to 2022! It is still very family atmospheric and electrifying! I’m absolutely astonished how clean it was for the volume of people that were in attendance for this big rivalry home game against the Cleveland Browns! I want to think of everyone that was able to make this experience very special impossible for my daughter I recommend anybody even if you’re not an NFL fan or Pittsburgh Steelers fan to visit the new Acrisure stadium it is home to the Pittsburgh Panthers as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and they also host tours in addition to other events as well, which you can check on their website! I rate the overall experience five stars, but I would give it the whole galaxy if I could! Absolute perfection!

Wasn't too impressed by the numerous daylight games I've been to here, but Sunday night games have a great atmosphere and energy that make them pretty fun. The food is definitely pricey, though that’s expected for an NFL stadium. The biggest downside has consistently been the lines, both for the restrooms and for food. It’s not unusual to wait 15 minutes just to use the restroom during the game, and I can’t imagine how bad it gets at halftime. I will say, the line to enter the stadium through security was significantly quicker than my last visit, which was a plus. Overall, it’s not a top 10 NFL stadium, but it’s serviceable.

Omfg what a huge experience we've had today and not to mention the Steelers pulled a win today against the Cleveland Browns!! Our seats was section 135 row B, behind the Steelers!! I will add one more photo we got a signature from #41 Wilson (was hoping for Watt and Rogers🥰 but no!). Very sweet man to sign it!! We are definitely coming back but next time sitting in front row!! The drinks for a can of beer was $16. I literally took sips that i should added a nipple cause it took me through the game!!😂 The prices for the tickets was steep but seeing my family's faces enjoying the game was so worth it!!🥰 as always LETS GO STEELERS!!!❤️💯🏈🎊

The Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh is a renowned museum and research center that offers a wide range of science-related exhibits, a planetarium, live shows, and programs for kids. Situated along the banks of the Ohio River, this award-winning center aims to inspire and entertain visitors by showcasing the connection between science, technology, and everyday life.
The Carnegie Science Center was absolutely fantastic. Compared to other museums and exhibits, this center had a wonderful selection spanning over different fields in science. Pricing was great for how much they have on display. Spent roughly 4 hours here and could've spent even longer. If you also have a kid who loves trains, you can see them constantly going out the window.
Kindle O — Google review
The best science center ever, even for adults! Perfect Mars exhibit, water and wind experiments. They have a section dedicated to education about the human body and the interactive displays are so much fun! The highlight is definitely the huge train model, we spent a lot of time in there! There is also a submarine outside but you need to book the self guided tour in advance. They have a theater as well (not included in general admission). Plenty of parking.
JitkaKac — Google review
Fun but outdated. They have some new things that are cool and you can tell that they are trying to update things which is good. Fun for kids. The submarine is super cool and informational. They have paid parking which is nice. Teachers get in free!

This place is amazing. Spent the entire day here. So many fun things for the kids to do. Submarine was really cool to walk through. We were allowed to bring in our own food/drinks. They do have a cafe on the bottom floor, did not eat there but prices seemed reasonable.

Excellent science museum. It's obviously great for kids, but I had a great time as an adult. There's plenty of interactive exhibits which are the most important to me, and of course all the informative stuff. There is also a submarine you can tour (included with your ticket) which I didn't even know was a thing when I showed up. Definitely worth checking out!
Ethan S — Google review
The Science Center is geared toward younger kids. My almost 9 year old enjoyed the SportsWorks section, but was no longer interested in the rest of it. We weren’t able to see a planetarium show this time, but I recall that being pretty cool for kids and adults. Paid parking in front. You can pre-purchase your tickets online and they have a cafe and gift shop.
Shannon B — Google review
We visited on a Tuesday and had a lot of fun! The museum's exhibits are aimed at a younger audience than the Natural History Museum but are still enjoyable by adults. The Mars exhibit was absolutely fascinating - it's great that the mock society takes visitor opinions into account as it continues to be built. The high point of our visit was the planetarium! The narrator for Space Volcanoes was top notch and deserves a raise - he really put a lot of effort into making it fun and high energy. In retrospect, we wish we would've watched more shows at the planetarium and will likely come back later this year to check them out!
Meagan S — Google review
I had an amazing time walking around, looking at the Science and Technology displays. There are a lot of interactive activities for the younger children to do. These activities also keep the adults interested. If you're looking to go to the submarine or one of the various shows, make sure you go online for ticket availability. I was able to get tickets to the Center, but not the special shows and tours.

Bar
Federal Galley is a trendy and spacious food hall located in the North Side. It offers a diverse selection of modern cuisine, along with a full bar and beer garden. The dining experience at Federal Galley is characterized by its galley-style setup, featuring four walk-up restaurants and cafeteria-style seating. This arrangement allows visitors to explore various culinary options in one place. Additionally, the large outdoor seating area on two sides of the restaurant provides an inviting space for al fresco dining.
This is great, sort of hidden gem to get some food, for one there are many different places to grab food in here and a good selection of food and drinks. There is also plenty of seating and clean bathrooms. I also like they have an outdoor seating area although I wish it was covered. We came here on a sunny day and the temp outside was super nice but we got demolished by the sun as there is zero shade. Accessibility is also an issue, to get here the quickest way is up a giant flight of steps so if you got accessibility challanges there isn't an obvious way to get to this level that I could see.
Mr. E — Google review
The Federal Galley is a neat spot to grab a bite and try some beers/cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed. We went before a concert at the stadium, it wasn't too crowded and was within walking distance from our hotel and to the stadium. The 4 different kitchen gives you a great variety of options. There were vegetarian options as well as Gluten free buns available. The beer selection was pretty good (you can see it on untapped) and they had a nice selection of cocktails as well as a full bar. We happened to be there at happy hour and our 4 beers ended up costing us about 18$ The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 is the table was dirty, we had to find napkins and clean it off. It is more like a food court, as you grab your water/ glasses and cutlery yourself. The food was delicious and we will probably go back if we find ourselves in town for a show.
Erin S — Google review
If you’re looking for the best happy hour in Pittsburgh, Federal Galley is a strong contender. Half-price beers with a large selection and half-price cocktails. Not just your average $4 tail with a mixer… well-made, thoughtful drinks that make the happy hour price look like highway robbery. Recommend the Hulk Smash and espresso martini. You are able to order drinks remotely from the tables which is really nice if bar lines are wild. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was lively, but not packed. Live music and plenty of outdoor seating as well. The only downside to this place is location as it’s in a business park area without much else around. Regardless, the drinks are great and the price really can’t be beat. Also, grab the cheesy halusky from Beef Graffiti.
Kyra — Google review
Went at 9:30pm on Friday. Was a late dinner - only few tables filled (probably because Karnival going on nearby). This was close to my hotel. Enjoyed a beer (Drinky and the Brain) and beef quesadilla! My kid ate birra tacos which was also good! The service was fast and good. Easy and quick to order from table directly (via smartphone).
Plasma S — Google review
Love the concept whereby you grab a numbered position in the spacious dining area, scan a QR code to order food from any of the vendors, enjoy the delicious food, and go (no need to clear the table). There are water carafes available in the dining room. The food from Burger Graffiti was so scrumptious that I almost consumed all of it before thinking about a photo for my review. And the prices were great also. One of the best food halls I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many, considering how popular they’ve become.

Washington, offers a romantic and picturesque setting with its fenced lookout along Grandview Ave. Visitors can reach this revered viewpoint by climbing up the steep slopes or taking a scenic ride on the historic Duquesne Incline or Monongahela Incline. The overlook provides breathtaking panoramic views of Pittsburgh's city skyline and its surrounding regions, making it an ideal spot for capturing stunning photos to light up your social media feed.
I have never imagined Pittsburgh being such a beautiful place. I highly recommend Mt Washington as a place to visit after or corporate event, visit to a local University or just a trip or romantic outing. While we were visiting some were taking graduation pictures, one couple got engaged. Definitely a very unique place in the area. Sunset was stunning with the river and the city changing colors as sun went lower and lower. I can imagine that sunrise is pretty amazing as well. If I ever visit Pittsburgh again, I will try sunrise also. :)

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Breathtaking and peaceful Grandview Overlook truly lives up to its name. The views are absolutely breathtaking—perfect for photos or just soaking in nature’s beauty. The location is a bit remote with not much nearby, but that’s part of what makes it so peaceful and serene. It’s a perfect escape from the noise. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet spot with stunning scenery!

Grandview overlook offers a breathtaking view of Pittsburgh from above. While it’s quite a walk from the incline to get there, you may need to take your time as you’ll be walking up and down a steep hill twice. However, the walk is definitely worth it for a different view of the city.

Tony Vanoy and I drove up to the top of Mt Washington in Pittsburgh on Sunday June 8th. The views were amazing! A super nice man offered to take our picture while I was stumbling around to take Selfies It's free to enjoy! Paid on street parking but free on Sundays Highly recommend you checking it out!

Absolutely must-see view. We went just before sunset to see the city both in the day and with the lights on. I would suggest doing this as both are amazing, but the night view most of all. We took the Duquesne Incline up and walked to this spot. It is a little hike that goes both up and down hills both ways on a well maintained sidewalk through a nice little neighborhood. There are benches here to sit on, but not many

Getting to the overlook can be challenging. Steep inclines, some cobblestone/uneven streets (that you need to traverse slowly), some streets are narrow with parked cars on both sides and two way traffic. Finding open and/or free parking at the top can be a challenge (especially if you just want to hop out get a picture and hop back in the car). HOWEVER, all that aside, the VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR and worth the trouble. I might add, while in the area, stop by the local bakery: Grandview Bakery. Their selection of pastries, donuts, cookies, and sweet treats were amazing and made making a special trip to the Grandview overlook worthwhile. We had originally came to the area to go up one of the inclines the day we visited the overlook, but there was a day-game baseball game and Parking at the incline lot was a flat rate $20. So, we visited the overlook instead.

This is a great location to see and photograph the city of Pittsburgh, especially at night. There are no bathrooms but down the street is a nice street full of shops eateries.

Sandwich shop
Peppis is a chain of sandwich shops which is known for its quality cheesesteaks. The shop has locations all over Pittsburgh and can be a bit of a pain to find parking during the week, as it's located in a residential area next to a large community college. The sandwiches are great, and the fries are fantastic. It's also cash only, but they do have an ATM on site.
During our couples’ trip, my husband and I, along with my baby sister and her husband, decided to try Peppi’s for lunch based on my brother-in-law’s recommendation. He’s from Pittsburgh, though none of us currently live in the area. Let me just say—we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that did not disappoint. We ordered the New Steak Salad, the #7, the Big Nate, the Ultra Cheese Steak, and two orders of cheese fries. Every bite was amazing! The service was equally impressive. The staff was polite, attentive, and made sure our food came out hot, fresh, and fast. The location itself is great, especially if you’re looking to park and explore, as there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Peppi’s also has a fun and unique vibe inside, with a mix of chairs and pews for seating and a walk-up counter to place orders at the entrance. We will definitely be back—and honestly, we might just plan another trip to Pittsburgh just for Peppi’s!

We love, LOVE Peppi's! Either this location or in the strip, the employees are so amazing. The BEST attitude! Fun, funny, and really seem to enjoy working together. I got the streak salad, and it was great! Filled me up! And at a great price. Thank you, guys! ❤️

Found this place by accident while walking from our Airbnb to the bar. Decided to give it a shot. Ordered our food, three different versions of the sandwhich and sat down while it was being made. It wasn't too busy and we came in 40ish minutes before it closed. The food was good! I wouldn't say it was one of the best sandwhiches I've had, but I enjoyed it and would come back. I think I needed some sort of extra sauce. But the workers were nice and the place was clean, food was good. Give it a try!

For starters this place is amazing however if you're doing this at lunch time expect your lunch time to go by quickly because there's a line out the door just to get in The food is fantastic I recommend trying to Cajun French fries The Philly steak with onion The Italian hoagie is awesome also

Probably one of the best customer service I’ve ever had. However, the cheesesteak was very bland and mid. I wish the sub was hot and the steak is a little bit more seasoned.
Khoa L — Google review
Not only are these some of the best subs we have ever had, but this place has one of the coolest atmospheres we have ever experienced. We just moved to Pittsburgh and were looking for our go-to sub place and Peppi’s was recommended multiple times. Walking in and you’re instantly met with real hard-working Pittsburgh people and a culturally rich atmosphere that highlights local celebrities, area history, and all around Pittsburgh pride. All this on top of an incredible sandwich and fries every-time and we have our spot for many years to come. We recommend trying the whole menu over time, but our favorites are the Santucci and the mushroom cheesesteak.
Shannon — Google review
They definitely have fans but did not impress. Very little meat and cheese for a lot of bun. Fries were good.
Joseph E — Google review
This was my 1st introduction to Pittsburgh and have always been coming back. As a Californian the fish here is amazing and the fries are better than In-N-Outs. Honestly I'm surprised they're not more popular

Bakery
Prantl's Bakery in Shadyside, Pittsburgh is renowned for its signature Burnt Almond Torte, available for shipping. However, this bakery offers much more than just their famous dessert. Their menu includes a variety of delectable treats such as cakes, cookies, cupcakes, croissants, dumplings, Gobs and strudels. One of their seasonal highlights is the Yule Log Cake during the holidays.
It’s a local bakery, you expect what you get. Nice place, good pastries, nothing fancy but also not overpriced. The hamantaschen are great, the mini pineapple upside down cake was heavenly, the doughnuts are decent, and the chocolate croissant was dense (not bad, just not fluffy at all). Only complaint I have is that they didn’t have their doughnuts ready when I showed up 1.5 hours after opening; as a bakery, I expect everything to be stocked when they open, not to have to wait for the first batch of the day to come out. Nonetheless, I will be back again soon!

We are from SC and wanted to try the Burnt Almond Torte for which Prantl’s is famous. We did not end up getting it because it needs to be refrigerated and we did not have access to refrigeration, but we bought tons of other pastries and they were all amazing! There was even one that was smaller and similar to the torte so we tried that. The soda in their cooler was delicious too - not too sweet! The ladies working were so welcoming and sweet. If you are in the area, you should check them out!

Good but not great. White cake with very sugary icing and almonds. Nothing special.

the kindest workers, and a decent selection of baked goods. The sugar cookies are soft and crumbly, the peanutbutter cookie was incredible and the breakfast panini was delish! (although it had cheese that i kindly asked they omit from my order... cannot stand american cheese)

Review is only for this Burnt Almond Torte. After reading all the reviews regarding this to be the best cake in North America, we felt we had to try. Nothing special. Super sweet cream in a log shape with roasted sliced almonds. The sliced almonds are nice.

Absolutely love coming to this bakery!! I'm a big fan of their breakfast panini. When I'm craving a nice treat my go to is their orange cranberry muffin and a butter croissant. The ladies that work there are so kind and attentive. Such a hidden gem on the north side.

Perfect service, delicious pastries and great prices. The only thing that would make it better is if they had boxes that were tougher so you could pack the pastries to go for a plane in your carry on. Prantl’s is absolutely worth checking out. I got all threes types of almond tortes and some cookies.

Restaurant
Nestled within the stunningly restored Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Station, Grand Concourse is a dining experience that transcends mere meals. This upscale restaurant, originally built in 1898, boasts breathtaking architecture with its soaring ceilings, majestic marble columns, and exquisite stained glass windows. While the ambiance alone is worth the visit, the menu does not disappoint either.
Took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner last night. We had the best time. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful. And the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Amber, was fun, friendly, quick and supper attentive. We’ll definitely be back.
Jesse B — Google review
Evelyn, our server, saved the day! We made reservations for a birthday dinner in the main dining room, only to arrive to find out it was closed because there was a wedding booked. The room we were seated in instead, was still pretty with a view of the river, BUT it wasn’t what we were expecting, and there was no mention of the main dining room being closed, thus the 4 for the review because I think they could have done better with communication about that. Otherwise, Evelyn was friendly, funny, and helped us forget about the inconvenience, and the food and cocktails were fantastic. We will go back as a result of still having a great experience, but we will be making sure proactively that there aren’t any events in the main dining room before we book next time.
Jeanine R — Google review
An interesting mix of experiences in one - incredibly beautiful location and best lobster bisque + bread rolls I’ve ever had. The service was friendly but I hate to say “amateur.” Reservation for 7:45, weren’t taken until closer to 8, things happen and not too big of a deal. Waiter took our drink orders (and appeared to write them down), came back 10 minutes later apologizing saying he forgot what our orders were. My drink (the mocktail “Desert Rose”) took 15+ minutes to get because they couldn’t find the right kind of glass I guess? Didn’t look anything like it did on the menu and didn’t taste anything like you would expect it to based on the destruction. They were gracious and replaced my drink for me with something else. We both ordered the filet mignon and lobster - the steak knives and butter were not brought out with them and arrived several minutes later. The filet mignon tasted more like an average steak, not a filet mignon, and the lobster was tough/chewy. The potatoes it came with were okay at best. Also since it’s a wedding venue - the music is SO LOUD it feels like you are at the wedding! They should soundproof that area, you can barely hear the person you’re next to at times. Absolutely stunning building, but overall disappointing for the price to not match the quality of the food and service.

Absolutely delightful dining experience. The whole concept of a restaurant in an old train station is incredibly unique and makes for a visually extravagant vibe that keeps you enticed with its architecture. On top of the awesome atmosphere, the food is simply spectacular. I highly recommend the crab cakes, or any of their seafood options as they are incredibly fresh and well prepared. Nothing let me down and i was happy with the price to portion ratio. Great place to have dinner in the Pitt area.

Used to really love the brunch here, but I was a bit disappointed on my most recent visit. We had a party of 11 for a friend’s birthday and our reservation was for 1:15pm and we didn’t get seated until 1:45pm. Parts of the buffet looked good and had been restocked with fresh items, but others weren’t refreshed the entire time we were there. Waffle station is always the best part. For $45 you hope for a bit more. Even though the food was just okay, our service was great and Neal took good care of us.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. To start they had balet, which charged us $15 to park. The gentlemen were friendly and wasy to work with. There was a wedding happening the night we went so the main area indoors was off limits but the place is big. We sat riverside by the window. It gives a beautiful view of the city and the water. If youre lucky youll see the gateway clipper! The staff was wonderful. We had a waitress in training and a gentleman serving us. They were so helpful and informative. The food was wonderful. I am a picky eater and absolutely loved the salmon sautéed. The asparagus was ok but the mash potatoes were wonderful. The bread they give wt the beginning was so so so good, im still thinking about it. They also include crackers in the bread basket, I wasnt thrilled about those Our drinks were great too. Took a little to come out due to the bar being backed up, but it was well worth the wait. A phenomenal restaurant to go to for an anniversary, i highly highly recommend
Alyssa F — Google review
We went here for their Sunday brunch buffet. We made reservations but still had to wait for about 20mins. The restaurant was really busy. Noelle was the staff that took care of us. She’s nice and friendly. Also very attentive and observant. We didn’t have to ask for coffee or water refills. Food selection was good. There’s an omelette station, pasta station, a whole table of different salmon dishes, breakfast items, carving and salad area, waffles and bread area and desserts tables. There’s not much variety at the carving station - prime rib, ham, chicken. Also seafood is very limited to salmon and shrimp. The fresh homemade donuts were good though. The architecture inside was amazing. Great for photos and can also imagine for it to be great for events. Price for the buffet was $45 per adult. For me, this is a special occasion only restaurant but a good choice for Sunday brunch buffet. Definitely want to go back and try their lunch and dinner offerings.

My husband and I fell in love with the Grand Concourse when we moved to Pittsburgh over 10 years ago. That is why it was very special to us to be able to celebrate our baby shower there in September. We worked with Sales and Events Manager, Brian George, who helped us plan a menu that wowed all of our guests! Everyone raved about the carving station and the french toast in particular! The staff were incredibly attentive and our friends were able to set up some decorations which enhanced the already stunning venue. It was very cool for our out-of-town guests in particular to have an experience that was simultaneously elevated and quintessentially Pittsburgh. Can't thank the Grand Concourse enough for making our celebration such a great success!

Seafood restaurant
The Original Oyster House is a historic fish house and tavern that has been serving fresh seafood platters and drinks since 1870. It is Pittsburgh's oldest bar and restaurant, known for its iconic recipes, exceptional customer service, and original character. The tavern's fifth proprietor has preserved its past architecture and decor, earning it a designation as a historic landmark.
Really neat place. Avoid the chain restaurants and the long line at the touristy french fry sandwich place. Seating available at the bar and there are 5-6 tables. Seat yourself, the staff will come around and take your order. Fish sandwiches were incredible. Oysters were great too. Feels timeless inside. Prices were fair for the quantity /quality of food that you get. The hot sauce and the mustard/vinegar sauce was very good.

This place has the coolest environment that you can think of with 150 years of history and super cool areas. Tons of super vintage athletic signs and stuff on the wall super cool structural areas. The food itself is a little less than desirable. I’ve never experienced oysters served out of a disposable ramikan cup, however I m not the most established or sophisticated guy when it come to this type of food. I heard the fish was bomb but didn’t try it. I should have ! Staff was friendly and the spot itself was cool.

I believe we were told this is the oldest restaurant in Pittsburgh. The original tiles and floors corroborate it. Absolutely delicious oysters and fish sandwiches. Whatever their secret is, it's perfection. Head on over, you won't be disappointed. The place is small, so keep that in mind and try not to go during prime eating times (be that early bird or mid-afternoon eater). This place is a gem!

I’ve been going to the original oyster House for the last 40 years not every day not every month not every year. I had a question about their oysters the breaded oysters and the owner was so nice Mrs. G explain to me how they make them and the process and everything like that she took the timer to talk to me,and my new best friend Jeff we’re working in market Square for the next few months with Badger daylighting I just wanted to say how wonderful it was such history in the place plus I was happy to be with my best friend Jeff

I'm visiting from out of town and this place was suggested by a local when I asked about good fish in the area. The name should be changed from 'Oyster House' to 'Nasty House'. I honestly wasn't expecting too much when we first walked in. I ordered the big fish platter or something like that. The fish was big, but it was probably the worst fish I have ever tasted. No flavor at all! While I understand it was cod and you can't do too much to season cod. It was horrible. The person with me ordered shrimp and they were also disguising. I'm not sure how people eat here or have anything positive to say. I asked for seasoned salt and was offered vinegar instead. The service wasn't too bad, serving size and prices weren't bad, but the food was disgusting. It's a no for me.
Kay P — Google review
It’s a dive, that’s for sure. But the vibe is cool. It was pretty slow when we first walked in and the two people working were super nice and chatty. They both seemed to really love being there. I got the famous fish sandwich and it was pretty good. But my son got the fish and chips and they were the best fish and chips I’d ever tasted.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, located in Schenley Park, is a horticultural paradise featuring a Victorian greenhouse and various botanical gardens. The complex has been recognized for its sustainable efforts, with three of the greenest buildings in the world on its campus. These include the Center for Sustainable Landscapes (CSL), Nature Lab at Phipps, and Exhibit Staging Center (ESC).
We were there on a beautiful September day, when they had their Jungle Quest summer flower show! What a joyful day and a great time for families with kids. My daughter loved the tropical plants and blooms and was excited to search for the toucan perched on top of the foliages. She loved playing in the areas designated for children and loves learning about the different species of plants and animals that live in these environments. We spent at least 3 hours there touring and visiting the gift shop. The best part is having lunch at the nearby park.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon, my dad, my husband, and I decided to explore Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. First and foremost, the parking situation is absolutely atrocious! We drove around for probably about 15 minutes, just looking for a spot before we finally managed to find one about half a mile away. I think with it being located so close to two university campuses, parking is never good here. The terrible parking situation aside, this place is absolutely beautiful! The variety of plants and various vegetation in beautiful arrangements was definitely something to behold. We had such a wonderful time, exploring the exhibits and even had fun looking for the hidden toucans in the various rooms. Such a pleasant afternoon and definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Pittsburgh.

Phipps Conservatory is an absolute masterpiece. As an educated plant collector and a partner with a degree in horticulture, we came in with high expectations—and Phipps exceeded every one of them, earning a 10/5 rating from us. The level of thought and care that has gone into every single space is breathtaking. Each room is a uniquely curated world, from the stunning orchid displays to the thoughtful tropical collections. The plants are not only healthy and vibrant but are presented with an artistry that makes it clear this is a place run by people who are truly passionate about their craft. We spent hours wandering through the exhibits, constantly discovering new, fascinating details and unique specimens that held our attention. The Phipps experience is a testament to what a botanical garden can be when it's treated as a living work of art. It’s not just a collection of plants; it’s an immersive, educational, and inspiring journey. We can't recommend it highly enough to anyone who appreciates the beauty and science of the plant world."

Adding my 5 star review into the mix because this place was amazing. Beautiful botanical displays of all shapes and sizes all under these magnificent victorian glass greenhouses. You will feel like you were magically whisked off to London or Paris for the afternoon. Worth the visit to escape the madness and chaos of the world around you. Today I needed a nice, calm, relaxing, warm, inviting stroll through a garden and I was glad I stopped by. Thank you to everyone, especially Barbara keeping us going left and on the tour. 😎😎

Really cool experience for those interested in botanical gardens. Well worth the price of admission. Parking can be a tad tough to find on the street so be sure to plan ahead. Plenty of exhibits inside with rooms dedicated to rainforests, chrysanthemums, and ferns. My favorite was the cactus room!

What a wonderful experience! We've been here many times through the years and its always enjoyable. The Fall flower show was especially beautiful, and a treat to stroll from one area to another. I look forward to the next time here. We did learn if you go first thing in the morning (9:30), parking is readily available.

The theme for the Phipps Conservatory's 2023 Winter Flower Show and Light Garden was: Garden Railroad: The miniature train ride was titled "Pennsylvania Through the Four Seasons." It was one of my most enjoyable rides, a reminder of winter 2023, and I'm looking forward to what the theme will be for winter 2025. It's a perfect place to share with family and friends, and if you want to enjoy a solo ride to reconnect with yourself, it's also a great place.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh is housed in a grand building and features an impressive collection of dinosaur fossils, sea creature fossils, and minerals. The museum is one of the four Carnegie Museums in the city and offers extraordinary exhibits. Visitors can also explore the adjacent Carnegie Museum of Art, The Andy Warhol Museum, and the Carnegie Science Center for a diverse cultural experience.
It was awesome my first visit to Natural museum of history. Lots of things to explore about extinct animals and lots of information about older generation. A fun place for kids too but there are no much activities for kids. If kids don't mind exploring history than it would be fun for them. Nearby you have cathedral of leaning which is awesome too for prospective of building and architecture. Parking is decently priced being in downtown area. I recommend it for family with kids to be there.

If you like reading and stopping at every display, you should plan to spend more than one full day here. As two nerds from out of state, my husband and I loved every moment here. The dinosaurs were like nothing we've seen before and the geology exhibit was super cool. I loved that there were placards near exhibits that are now considered out of date in some way (native American culture and the fossil fuel areas, for example). This is easily one of the best museums I've ever visited. This museum was so captivating that we came back for a second day, only to find out it was closed all day due to a private event. I wish there had been signage or staff letting us know :( Hence the four star review.

Excellent experience wear some comfortable shoes dress light. Lots of walking and they do have an elevator for ones in wheelchairs or strollers. Once you park in the garage the museum is on level 6 the elevator is a long wait but worth it. You can not leave the parking garage with cash they only take credit cards. Minimum is $10.00. Went today Saturday collage kids everywhere. Enjoy

This is a great experience for those who not only love natural history, but also love the architecture of the gilded age! The natural history exhibits are informative, but not exhausting, giving enough information about scientific discoveries and processes without boring the public. The dinosaurs are some of their most impressive displays, showcasing a variety of species including the famous tyrannosaurus rex, to which this one is the holotype specimen, meaning that it is the first to be recognized as a tyrannosaurus and the gold standard that others use to compare other specimens. The mammal exhibits detail natural life from all around the world, and many of course highlight the local wildlife (western Pennsylvania and specifically the laurel highlands). The bug exhibit was also an impressive collection. The only complaint that I had was that the art museum and the natural history museum were difficult to navigate, though their collections were also impressive despite the Ancient Egyptian exhibits being closed. The gems and minerals were also one of the most elaborate displays of them that I have seen with the exception being the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Overall, this is a great museum for those who want to learn about natural history in the local region as well as around the world.

Fantastic, magical day the Natural History Museum. Some of the absolute best dinosaur displays Ive seen. Breathtaking exhibit. Also an incredible Bird Hall. The Hall of American and African Animals is also fantastic. We were very excited to see the Egyptian Exhibit, but it was sadly closed. The section with gems and minerals to enormous and had we had more than a day to do the museum we would have spent more time exploring that as well. There is a cafe in the basement that had a nice selection of hot and cold items. The store was really comprehensive. Parking was very expensive which seemed excessive given its on top of the cost of getting into the museum. But overall it was worth it. If you take the elevator mind the note inside the elevator that tells you what floor to use for the Museum. Of note, one ticket gets you into BOTH the Museum of Natural History and the Art Museum and both are under the same roof. You can explore each one and the stores are very close to each other.

The family and I had a fantastic time. There is so much to see that you would have to go back a second time just to see everything. The children and wife were ecstatic. The stone and gem area was really cool too. The boys loved putting the pots together in the Egypt area. I don’t wanna say anymore. I don’t want to ruin the experience for you. Just go and see for yourself. You’ll be glad you did. It’s worth every penny.

Park
Emerald View Park, located on Pittsburgh's South Side, spans 257 acres and offers a variety of outdoor activities. The park features winding trails, wooded hillsides, picnic areas, playgrounds, ballfields, and overlooks with stunning views of downtown and its surrounding hills. Thanks to the efforts of various community groups and the City of Pittsburgh, a master plan has been developed for the park along with plans for 19 miles of new trails.
Great views of the city! According to my GPS this is the same entrance as Grandview Park with residential street parking. There is a playground for children and hiking trails that are dog friendly!
Chelsea D — Google review
This is clearly a hidden treasure of a park at the far end of Grandview Ave (the main straight across Mt. Washington). It gives a totally different perspective view of the point and Ohio River than the lookout spots closer to the incline. I actually went there for the purpose of flying my new drone and this park is perfect for that. I was there for a couple hours and saw 2 other people the whole time. The other overlooks on Mt. Washington were loaded with people. And parking is way more accessible at Emerald Park. There's also a much better perspective and vision of Acrisure stadium and PNC Park which you don't get from the incline observation point. And there's also a nice patch of grass there and nice big flat rocks to sit on. Additionally there's a small gravel trail that you can walk down towards the river. Emerald Park is definitely a hidden gem. It is so clean and just "nice". Good job Pittsburgh we see ya beautiful vistas!

First time visit today to this pleasant little park. Porta potties by the stage near the entrance. A pleasant trail leading downward along the hillside, lined with lots of berries. Not particularly long, but wooded all around with some river views and very private. Also public areas with hills and a playground.
Jerry M — Google review
It has a really great view but the trails were covered in broken glass so if you walking your dog be careful.

Watched 4th fireworks here while a band played. So happy to have this place that wasn’t on my radar before, but now won’t be forgotten! Lots of green space and beyond words scenery to absolutely enjoy! Pittsburgh 412 + LOVE <3

I hiked in starting from the Green Leaf Trailhead starting just before sunrise, which was an amazing decision. Hiking along and emerging on Mt. Washington at sunrise is the way to go. There are many outlooks and several outcroppings that offer an even better, less obstructed view. On a weekday morning I had the place to myself. Wonderful views of the city and neat neighborhoods to explore.
Josh W — Google review
Emerald View Park is truly a gem like the name suggests. The park is picturesque and offers many opportunities to take in views of downtown Pittsburgh, the South Side and beyond. The park contains public art, benches, a playground, and hiking trails. If you're adventurous, you can hike all the way down into the South Side. There is a grassy area with benches to take in the aforementioned views. Open air movie viewings are also offered for free here in the summer.
Stacy D — Google review
This park always been close to my home so my husband and I frequently take walks through this beautiful gem. It's small but it's only a part of a large network of park trails that runs through Mt. Washington and the south hills. It's a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors and the communal space that Pittsburgh has to offer. Plus, the views of the city are unbeatable.

Venezuelan restaurant
Cilantro & Ajo is a Venezuelan restaurant located in the South Side of Pittsburgh, known for serving some of the best Venezuelan street food. The menu features delicious arepas, empanadas, contemporary rice bowls, and more. The restaurant has gained popularity for its superb and authentic Venezuelan cuisine at affordable prices. In addition to its stationary location, Cilantro & Ajo has expanded its operations with a mobile food truck.
Friend of mine recommended this place and stopped for a quick lunch. Amazing experience. Very friendly staff, and most importantly delicious food. I got Patacon Deluxe and it was out of this world. They are generous with their portions. When I say that, I don’t mean the sauce, lettuce, etc… my Patacon was filled with steaks. Very generous amount!! Although I enjoy this dish a lot, next time I will be trying the bowl - it looks so good!
Cagan S — Google review
I don't know much about venezuelan food nor even what was on my plate, but it was friggin amazing. Ordered the steak and eggs myself and it came alongside the yummiest sides in the pic, and my wife's chorizo cheesy pan fiesta was also top dollar. Cute lil place and very nice people working there. Wish we had known about this sooner, will be back ASAP to try more new things!
Michael M — Google review
Well done intense-on-the-stomach Latin/Venezuelan fried food. Not for everyone. I personally like it. It’s Fried food w a slightly unique twist. More starchy in a way I can’t put my finger on. And has something buttery or something extra to it. Flavors are largely milder but not nothing. It’s not like mexican food w cilantro and onions, salsas and hot sauce. It’s subtler. Often includes lots of cheese and lightly seasoned creams. Meats seemed stewed, a little chewy, and seasoned to a smaller reasonable amount. I can’t say it’s the healthiest stuff - and my stomach def feels ‘worked’ after eating it. My girlfriend personally can’t eat a lot as it upsets her stomach. But this is fried indulgent food. This isn’t health super foods here. The vibe on the inside is nice and simpler. Has some pizaz and fun to it, but generally is less frills. Service has always been cordial and patient. I like the folks inside. Overall this is a great restaurant to have in the city. While it’s not something you likely want all the time - it’s a nice unique treat when you want some sit-in-your-stomach indulgent less healthy food. It clearly feels like their own thing that they do well, and it’s v welcome in the city.
Mcstivi — Google review
I had heard a lot about this place and wanted to try it, but since it was a little far for me, I couldn’t really go. So when I was shopping near Carson Street, I made up my mind to go and try this place. The interiors are unpretentious, and you see a lot of local standing there, which basically means that the food is legit. I however, did not have a great experience. I need to preface this by saying that I’m not an expert on Venezuelan food and I only have had it a couple times. I ordered my usual order of pabellon arepa and yuca frites. I also got a sweet jaggery lime drink to go with it, and it was honestly the best part of the meal. The arepa was just okay but I would have preferred more sauces with it. The fries were cut very thick and were not cooked properly and weren’t very crispy either. Also I did not come with any sauce. I guess I was comparing it to Arrepitas which is one of my favourite Venezuelan restaurants in the city and compared to that I found the food here to be very mid for similar price.
Suman H — Google review
My son took me to Cilantro & Ajo while I was visiting him at school last month. It's such a homey place. The food was very good, & they gave great portions. There's always a steady flow of people at Cilantro & Ajo. It's definitely a neighborhood favorite. The restaurant is located on the southside, just a few minutes away from Downtown Pittsburgh. So, it's easy to get to. Cilantro & Ajo is now one of my favorites when I come to Pittsburgh.
Deanna D — Google review
Everything I’ve ever eaten from here is made with love and authenticity! The chicken empanadas are to die for, it’s served with a green sauce that is heavily. It’s equally creamy and acidic which pairs great with the entire menu. The arepas are crispy, cheesy and tender. I also love their tres leche cake with the caramel dollop! Here every bite is the perfect bit. The prices are also affordable for high quality ingredients. I truly believe this place is a gem! They have a nice almost family style dining area. There’s merchandise and food items you can cook with at home. Including cereal, masa, candy and spices. They also have delicious homemade drinks that are refreshing. Staff members are always happy and kind, you can tell they enjoy working here. I would highly recommend coming here for Venezuelan food.
Siahs F — Google review
Food is good but the lady at the front taking the orders is always rude. If you ask any questions about the food she will be annoyed and inconvienced. I have been in here a few times because the food is good but the customer service is terrible
Julian F — Google review
So good! The sauce they make is incredible. We’ve gotten 2 shredded beef empanadas both times we’ve visited and they are so delicious. They are 2 for 10, and theyre big, so theyre pretty affordable too. They are gluten free too which is nice since I am sensitive to gluten! Can’t overstate how good the empanadas are. No photo because we ate them immediately cuz theyre just that good.

Italian restaurant
Alla Famiglia is a renowned Pittsburgh restaurant known for its refined atmosphere and exquisite cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes, including handmade pasta made with high-quality ingredients like Semolina and imported 00 flour. From Bucatini Bolognese to Linguine with eggplant and Bufala mozzarella, the pasta offerings are sure to delight diners.
For my sisters 30th Birthday, we decided to take her to Alla Famiglia. Nobody in our 7 person party has ever been so we were excited. The experience, atmosphere, and food was the best Italian Pittsburgh has to offer. From the waitress explaining the experience and menu, to the fun old Italian atmosphere that surrounds the dining rooms, I would 100% be going back! Definitely bring your appetite because we had so much food leftover!! The cavatappi pasta with the oil on top was my favorite!!! If you are looking for a special night out with friends or family or celebrating an occasion, this should be first on your list.

An incredible Italian restaurant. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place. Beth, our server, was so good to work with. Very attentive. The entire team was customer focused. The food is top notch. You cannot leave hungry. The food is cooked to perfection. We started with the meatball and escargot. Both were so good. Our main courses were chicken Parmesan, steak and veal chops. So good. Salad, bread and pasta accompanied the meal. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We went there for our anniversary. My wife had the Chicken Alla Limon and I had the Chicken Pizzaiola. All of the food was amazing but I thought the Pizzaiola was out of this world. I really loved the flavor that the sausage added to the dish. And I must say that drizzling a little of the olive oil infused with peppers that accompanied the entrees was delightful. The food and the cocktails we're top notch. I must add that I'm not a big tiramisu fan but the raspberry tiramisu was excellent! I definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.

Honestly I was debating on leaving a review but I feel like I need to be heard. This restaurant has been one of my favorite memories from when I went a few years ago with my family. But when I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary I was quite disappointed. We set a reservation at 10pm, and the website says they close at 11. We called and they said they close when the last people are done eating. So at first we were having a great time, enjoying our food. The food was phenomenal. But as it got closer to us getting our main dish we noticed the kitchen closing. We asked to put in a Togo order for a meatball, our waitress didn’t seem to have a problem with that, but we heard her apologizing to the kitchen staff for us adding to our order. Which definitely ruined the mood. After that we just decided to ask for everything boxed up and we were ready to get out of there. The last thing we wanted to do was be a burden. It’s just disappointing because we paid to have a good experience and instead got a guilt trip instead…

I was excited to visit this restaurant as I haven't found a good Italian place that I love yet. The valet service was great and made parking a breeze. You can add the valet with tip to your bill at the end. The service was spectacular and the ambiance was even better. I will say the portions are very large! I gave food a rating of four because I would have liked to have eaten my pasta together with my main dish versus separately. The cheese wheel preparation was a nice touch! I recommend visiting this restaurant, reservations are a must!

This is must stop destination when you visit Pittsburgh! Food is absolutely amazing(as always). I would bet money to see someone leave here without being stuffed! It’s basically a 3 course meal and soo worth the price. All entrees come with pasta and salad. It’s so much food!! Service was outstanding. They really do treat you like family! I forgot to take a picture of my salad but I got the kale salad. I went with the vodka pasta and added their house made chili oil that they present with the pasta course to add a little spice. I need to make arrangements to have some of this vodka sauce sent home in Texas!! For my entree I got the filet with the gorgonzola cream, roasted peppers and port wine drizzle. Michelle and Tony were so nice, accommodating and very professional. We sat at the bar and they made sure we were enjoying every aspect of our meal. They really take pride in their presentation for the cocktails. Not only are the cocktails pretty but they taste delicious too. The cigar room “The blue pearl” is absolutely stunning!! Every time I visit I leave so happy and with food for the next day. I would give 6 stars if I could. The girls and I had a great time! So many smiling faces in this building you can just tell it’s a great team dynamic.
Mona G — Google review
Dinner date with my daughter while we were traveling from Florida. WOW. The food was delicious, the only mark against my rating was that our pasta was luke warm and we would have preferred it hotter. We tried the pork belly appetizer, I had the filet Diane style, daughter had the lamb shank and we were practically licking our plates!! Servers were informative and exceptional without being overbearing. Desserts were a must after that meal but we took them to go :). If I’m ever in this area again I would visit again.

This is a top 5 in Pittsburgh hand down. We keep coming back not only because of the exceptional food but the exceptional service! Every waiter and waitress we have has wowed us including Clinton and Gabby but honestly all of them. The veal is exceptional but the sauce on the meatball and mussels is slap you in the face! Then there is the Cacio e pepe in the cheese wheel! It’s the place you celebrate the big wins, memorialize the memories, take time off to be with each other, just enjoy life and so much more!

FET-FISK restaurant + bar

Restaurant
FET-FISK Restaurant and Bar in Bloomfield offers a Scandinavian dining experience with a range of unique dishes such as pickled fish and pates. Guests have raved about the amazing food, drinks, and service at this restaurant. The braised mussels are particularly praised for their delicious sauce, while the gimlet cocktail is highly recommended. Diners also loved the chicken, braised mussels, caesar salad, janssens temptation, and scallops.
Could I give the service 6 stars?! A wonderful dining experience - we sat in the main room toward the back and it wasn’t too noisy. Highlights: the pickled mackerel with smoked beet and cabbage - a flavor adventure!! The rye focaccia with olive oil and tomato balsamic - absolutely incredible! I also loved my cocktail - the aromatic. Everything we ate was terrific with an unsurpassed depth of flavor. And, yes, you should get the chicken!

Had a truly wonderful experience at Fet Fisk! The staff was all great and very kind, making the meal even better. We started with the delicious Sturgeon pate and the surprisingly fresh cabbage Caesar salad. The roasted trout was perfectly prepared, but the absolute highlight of the night was the roast chicken, tender, juicy, and the best dish we ordered. Highly recommend stopping by!
Laura G — Google review
I think we tried everything on the menu and liked pretty much everything. The waitress recommended getting 2-3 dishes per person, which is definitely too much. Everything was unique and delicious. The dishes that stood out were mackerel, beet salad, and chicken. Would definitely return here!
Dmitry G — Google review
We loved every minute of our experience at FET-FISK. The space is stunning and so cozy. We sat in the main restaurant, but the bar is so moody and wonderful. Next time would love to cozy up there. Our server was great and helpful with the amount of food to order and wine pairings. Cocktails and food were delicious. Our faves were definitely the scallop crudo, cabbage cesar, the chicken and the sourdough spatzle. We’re so lucky to have a spot like this in Pittsburgh. Can’t wait to return.
Nisha C — Google review
Fet-Fisk was an absolute hit. The space is gorgeous—warm, intimate, and designed to make you want to linger. I sat in the main dining room, but the bar’s moody red glow was seriously tempting. Service was spot-on, especially when it came to guiding portions and wine pairings. The cocktails and wines were thoughtful, but the food is where the restaurant really shines. The steak tartare was easily the best I’ve had—tender, bright, perfectly seasoned. And the sweet corn panna cotta? Rich yet delicate, with a deep corn flavor that felt both surprising and nostalgic. A standout dinner from start to finish. Highly recommend Fet-Fisk for any occasion.
Shane S — Google review
After having to cancel multiple reservations due to travel popping up, I was FINALLY able to get to FET-FISK. From the initial greeting from our server, to the last sip of my Chocolate Orange Milk Punch, every bite and interaction surpassed my expectations. For drinks, I tried the Sour, Cosmo and Milk Punch. They were all well balanced, proportioned well and delicious. We were encouraged to order with sharing in mind, so we did. We started with the Smoked Trout Pate, delightfully light and flavorful. The capers and shallots on top added flavor amd brine that gave the pate the pop of saltiness that was needed without making it overly seasoned. The seeded crackers were paper thin and tasty. I made little pate cracker sammies to get everything in each bite. Next up was the Grilled Cabbage Caesar. I wasnt sure what to expect, but the cabbage was prepared in a way that both maintained its crunch, but also brought out the sweetness of the leaves. My only critique was that I would've liked a bit more of the dressing. It seemed to be mainly on the plate and not so much on the top leaves. For entrees, I needed to have the Sunday Swedish Meatballs! I think I read they were made with ribeye. My favorite meal that my mom makes is Swedish Meatballs. Were these as good? Of course not. Were they amazing? Definitely. The portion was nice, i think 6 in total and they were a nice size. The sauce was a nice compliment as were the fruit bits on top which I think were pomegranate arils. The meatballs were very flavorful and so tender. I would def go back on a Sunday to get these again! We also shared the Rainbow Trout and Sourdough Spaetzel. The trout had a firm, tender flesh, with a very crispy skin. The seasonings used along with the almond sauce made this another crave-worthy dish! I love when a fish is prepared so perfectly that the skin is part of the flavor profile and is nice and crispy! The Spaetzel was recommended by our server as a nice compliment to both entrees. He wasn't wrong! It was fluffy and light and buttery and savory and so so tasty. I could have eaten this alone as a bowl of just comfort food. There were leftovers packed up, we had no room for dessert this time. I have my eye on the sweet corn pannacotta for next time! All I can say is that this spot definitely lives up to the hype and will not pass up another opportunity to experience FET-FISK.

Finally, a Pittsburgh restaurant that lives up to its reputation—and dare I say, almost on par with the Chicago restaurant scene. (Chicago native here.) Fet & Fisk absolutely nailed it. The oysters tasted like being hit by a wave (in the best possible way), the smoked sturgeon pâté was velvety and rich, the pickled mackerel had just the right bite, and the steelhead trout filet was perfection. My cocktail, the Aromatic, may have been small but it was mighty and ice-cold—exactly how it should be. Service was warm, atmosphere was intimate yet lively, and the food… unforgettable. Consider me hooked on Nordic seafood in PGH.
Chrissy B — Google review
What a fantastic dinner. Stunned by how amazing the smoked sturgeon pate was, the fries were just right, the steak tartare was perfect. We did get to snag the beans and cabbage special, and it was on pointe. Cocktails were lovely, as were the mocktails.

Noodle shop
Everyday Noodles is a unique Chinese eatery in Squirrel Hill that offers a captivating dining experience. The restaurant specializes in hand-pulled noodles, which are crafted behind a kitchen-viewing window, allowing diners to witness the fascinating process. The menu features a variety of Chinese and Asian cuisines, including soups, vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as an array of delectable options such as pork soup dumplings and Dan Dan noodles.
5 Stars - An Exceptional Culinary Gem, Worth the Parking Hassle! My first visit to Every Day Noodles was wonderful. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere set the perfect tone, a little upscale from your typical Asian restaurant without being stuffy. The food is the star: expertly prepared, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The expansive menu offers an impressive array of options, including many enticing soups, hearty entrées, delightful appetizers, and a large, creative variety of vegetarian dishes. Considering the generous portion sizes, the prices are remarkably reasonable. Service was impeccable. Our waitress was attentive, highly informative, and patiently answered our many questions about the various dishes, which was enhanced the experience. The restaurant itself is clean. The only caveat is parking; located in a bustling, busy part of town, securing a spot can be a chore. However, I wholeheartedly highly recommend Every Day Noodles, it is absolutely worth the walk!
Dane — Google review
For hand pulled noodles, head to Everyday Noodles. My family of three walked in around 1pm on a May Sunday and got a table right away in front of the staff making the noodles. Our server even brought out dough for our eight-year-old daughter to play with, which she loved. To eat, we ordered the bok chuy, dan dan noodles, pork soup dumplings, cucumbers, and hot and spicy noodles. Our daughter loved her soup dumplings. Everything else tasted good, but not as amazing as we expected. The flavors were muted in each dish. Despite that, it was still a fun lunch!
Austin G — Google review
Everyday noodles is a cool experience! They make the dumplings fresh all day, and you can watch them make everything through a glass window. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is quick. I think this should be called "Everyday DUMPLINGS", as the dumplings are the star of this restaurant, not the noodles. Mind you, I think the noodles are very authentic, but myself and my wife's noodles were muted in flavor and texture. The noodle dishes left some to be desired. Will definitely come back to try the dumplings, but with so many noodle options in Squirrel Hill, I will likely not come back for the noodles.
Tim A — Google review
A bit disappointed trying it after seeing all the reviews. The oxtail noodle soup was a bit bland, I had clear soup noodles in Asia often so I'm not having mismatched expectation. I know it will be milder than most noodle soup, but when served with noodles the soup gotta have flavor to compliment the noodles you know. Noodles were ok, not the best hand pulled I've had, not that bouncy and slightly on soggy side. The pork and crab dumplings were better than noodles in comparison. But still, it's quite average for siu long bao. I would say you get what you pay for.
Vicki — Google review
Another Asian restaurant makes tips mandatory. We ordered 3 dishes, soup dumplings, scallion noddle and wonton noodle. The soup dumplings and scallion noodle are fine, wonton noodle is tasteless, they didn’t use correct type of noodle for this dish. The waiter is friendly, helpful. The service is overall pretty fast. We paid the bill by cash, we planned to leave a tip but we forgot. However, the owner chased us to the entrance, dragged us back to our table requiring tips. This move is rude and inappropriate. If the guest didn’t leave a tip, you should think there is no tip because your service is not good enough. Also, why we should tip an owner anyways? The whole thing is ridiculous. We finally went back leaving a 20% tip because the server lady is really good and friendly, but I truly hope our tip went into her pocket, not the owner. Will not come back, food is mid, the owner is very rude, not sure why paying cash give us 10% off, or 20% off, seems way to much for credit card fee.
Mingzhen C — Google review
The soup pork dumpling (xiaolongbao) is great, it’s a pity that it did not come with ginger pickles but fresh ginger with water taste. Noodles are good but the turnip is not well cooked but tastes like salad raw. The dry noodle with bean curd (zajiangmian) is too dry not able to mix the source with noodles we used soup from soup noodle to add into it to make it mixed properly. Staff are nice and responded quickly
